[0:00] Speaker 1: Biotech, biotech checking. We haven't talked about biotech in a while,
[0:05] Speaker 1: but you know in in in the Age of ai
[0:09] Speaker 1: H and I thought it was interesting that in video
[0:11] Speaker 1: when we spoke, when we spoke with some of the
[0:13] Speaker 1: people in the video, that we had a couple of
[0:15] Speaker 1: panels that some of the employees spoke on and probably
[0:20] Speaker 1: the number one thing that was talked about was medical Okay, yep,
[0:24] Speaker 1: probably for like over twenty minutes, they had a detailed
[0:27] Speaker 1: conversation about medical advancements and how their technology is going
[0:34] Speaker 1: to change medicine as far as you know, hospital experiences
[0:39] Speaker 1: and inpatient visits, doctors, different things that nature. That gave
[0:43] Speaker 1: us a whole a whole blueprint of how you know,
[0:46] Speaker 1: the medical industry will change because of artificial intelligence and
[0:50] Speaker 1: their technology specifically and the things that they were working
[0:53] Speaker 1: on when it comes to the medical field. So that's
[0:57] Speaker 1: one aspect of it. But you know, the biotech is
[1:00] Speaker 1: a big industry, So what's the biotech check in?
[1:05] Speaker 2: And I want to say, off of that point, for
[1:07] Speaker 2: those who think that in video trade is done, I
[1:13] Speaker 2: just want to be very clear, not just because I
[1:15] Speaker 2: picked it and YadA YadA. In video is like the
[1:19] Speaker 2: Blackrock of AI. I will say that we can talk
[1:21] Speaker 2: about it more in detail, but given how much they're
[1:24] Speaker 2: investing into the space and how they have their partnership structure,
[1:27] Speaker 2: I think it's fascinating. But on the biotech side, these
[1:31] Speaker 2: are three that you can write down, so you have
[1:33] Speaker 2: the ETF side. IBB great return, so if you don't
[1:37] Speaker 2: want to have to guess which ones to invest in,
[1:39] Speaker 2: you can just invest in the basket of them. Number
[1:42] Speaker 2: two Gilead, Gilead Scientists is an incredible company, has been
[1:47] Speaker 2: through and through. And number three is one that's been
[1:50] Speaker 2: in stock club forever and one that I don't talk
[1:52] Speaker 2: about publicly, and it's outpacing a lot of companies year
[1:56] Speaker 2: over year, and that's Amgen. I think Amgen's probably one
[2:00] Speaker 2: one of the greatest companies on the planet and one
[2:01] Speaker 2: of the best run ones in the biotech space. And
[2:05] Speaker 2: also Nvidia and Lily has the partnership. So it's a
[2:09] Speaker 2: lot of exciting things with AI. This happened as a result.
[2:13] Speaker 2: But if I had to put my money all on three,
[2:14] Speaker 2: it would be IBB, Amgen, which has been a top
[2:17] Speaker 2: picking stock stock club forever, and Gilead Sciences. That will
[2:20] Speaker 2: round up my top three.
[2:22] Speaker 3: There's a solid three. That's a solid three. Obviously we'll go,
[2:25] Speaker 3: We'll go, Lily, And I think, like you said, just
[2:28] Speaker 3: sometimes things don't need to be explicitly explained to you.
[2:32] Speaker 3: It's like the implicit intrinsic value of what's being said.
[2:35] Speaker 3: And like you said, when you sit there and you
[2:37] Speaker 3: listen to engineers in the field of healthcare when it
[2:40] Speaker 3: relates to AI and how the timeframes that it takes
[2:44] Speaker 3: to do things has just been shortened by technology.
[2:47] Speaker 2: Right.
[2:47] Speaker 3: They talked about doing genail and how it used to
[2:50] Speaker 3: take eight years and now they've got it down to
[2:52] Speaker 3: four hours, and like, what's that going to be in
[2:54] Speaker 3: the next three years? Is it take two? I mean,
[2:56] Speaker 3: just insanity, So I would take a different three. I
[3:00] Speaker 3: love your three. I just want to add and give
[3:02] Speaker 3: people as much value as possible. So I have literally
[3:05] Speaker 3: obviously as one, I have biogen. And this is interesting
[3:10] Speaker 3: because when when you hear biogen, the ticker is b
[3:13] Speaker 3: I I B. This is one that focuses on specific things, right,
[3:18] Speaker 3: So when I'm talking about in the world of biotech,
[3:23] Speaker 3: do they dominate in a specific area, right, Like when
[3:26] Speaker 3: we talk about GLPS, who's the dominant player in that,
[3:29] Speaker 3: like Biogen is a dominant in the neuro degenerative drugs. Right,
[3:34] Speaker 3: So we're talking about things that help treat Alzheimer's, things
[3:37] Speaker 3: that help to treat Parkinson's disease. They are leaders in that,
[3:41] Speaker 3: So Biogen would be one because I think the science
[3:44] Speaker 3: that is going to prevail in the future will go
[3:46] Speaker 3: into that space. How do we make things that were
[3:49] Speaker 3: once not curable now curable?
[3:51] Speaker 1: Right?
[3:52] Speaker 3: How do we shorten the time for that? And then
[3:54] Speaker 3: I got a sleeper here, man, I watched the chart
[3:57] Speaker 3: and obviously you know the topic list here, but Vertex's
[3:59] Speaker 3: pharmaceuticals ticker vr X another one that if you look
[4:06] Speaker 3: specifically at what they do and what they dominate at, Yeah,
[4:10] Speaker 3: is it an over leveraging the sense because they're dominant
[4:13] Speaker 3: at one thing? Well, we just talked about the riches
[4:17] Speaker 3: in those niches, right, and so they specifically focus on
[4:20] Speaker 3: being dominant in the treatment and care of CISTE fibrosis.
[4:24] Speaker 3: That is their thing, right, They're not doing glps. That
[4:27] Speaker 3: is their thing. That's been their thing, and they've dominated
[4:29] Speaker 3: at that. And so when you and this is a tricky,
[4:33] Speaker 3: tricky sector when we're talking about biotech, we talked about
[4:37] Speaker 3: this years ago. Yeah, it can come and it can go,
[4:40] Speaker 3: and it's tough to predict because science takes time. Cures
[4:44] Speaker 3: take time, treatments take time, testing, trials, all those things
[4:48] Speaker 3: factor in, pricing, factors in, and so it's a tough
[4:50] Speaker 3: sector to deal with. But I like the ones that
[4:53] Speaker 3: dominate in specific things, and so Lily, obviously, Biogen and
[4:56] Speaker 3: Vertex all have different dominant features, different things that they do,
[5:00] Speaker 3: but they're leading in those spaces.
[5:03] Speaker 2: Yeah, they remind me a little bit of Nvidio when
[5:06] Speaker 2: a m D was in the leite. They were so
[5:07] Speaker 2: good at one thing, eventually you would see them branch
[5:10] Speaker 2: out to others. Definitely a sleeper, and in this case,
[5:14] Speaker 2: the cream rises to the top. Like they've had some
[5:17] Speaker 2: tumultuous years. Twenty two is kind of tough. But with
[5:20] Speaker 2: this list Vertex, Amgen, Biogen, gilly ad like the cream
[5:26] Speaker 2: rose to the top. The players that were kind of
[5:29] Speaker 2: on the fringes have died out, So I don't think
[5:31] Speaker 2: you can go wrong with this list.
[5:34] Speaker 3: Yes, shout outs to the chat they got some of
[5:36] Speaker 3: these in their portfolios already already, Yep, after them.
[5:41] Speaker 1: Okay, but what do these be? What these be advisable investments.
[5:46] Speaker 2: No, absolutely, Amgen is one of the top performers in
[5:49] Speaker 2: stock Club. Stock Club. If you're in the chat for
[5:52] Speaker 2: fire and chat, if am Gen has been performing well,
[5:54] Speaker 2: for sure, Amgen, for sure, IBB great exposure, Gilliat would
[5:58] Speaker 2: be third. But if you just do ib am Gin
[6:00] Speaker 2: and Lily, Holy Trinity, Holy Trinity, you think speed felt good?
[6:05] Speaker 2: What I show speed portfolio for sure, IBB, am Gen
[6:11] Speaker 2: and Lily together, great combination, great combination.
[6:16] Speaker 1: Shout out to in Video once again. Yeah, they definitely
[6:20] Speaker 1: talked a lot about healthcare, and I think that was
[6:23] Speaker 1: the key takeaway at least for me, was you know,
[6:25] Speaker 1: they really hammered it that they're not they don't make anything.
[6:28] Speaker 1: They said that Haraian different times. It's like, we don't,
[6:30] Speaker 1: we don't make anything. You know, they're a software company.
[6:33] Speaker 1: They talked about that also, like most people think their
[6:35] Speaker 1: hardware company is actually a software company. And so when
[6:39] Speaker 1: you think of in video, most people thinking video as
[6:41] Speaker 1: a chip company. But I look at in video as
[6:45] Speaker 1: a medical company, as a gaming company, as a sports company,
[6:51] Speaker 1: because it's every it's everything everybody anything you put their
[6:56] Speaker 1: technology in, that's what it is. So medical industry. They
[7:01] Speaker 1: was very very enthusiastic about that, spoke a lot about that,
[7:05] Speaker 1: So that should give you some insight if you're interested
[7:08] Speaker 1: as far as where they're thinking about going. They also
[7:11] Speaker 1: spoke about robotics. They also spoke about autonomous driving vehicles,
[7:16] Speaker 1: and they showed us their garage, the autonomous driving garage.
[7:19] Speaker 1: So that's a few things that you guys might be
[7:22] Speaker 1: interested in if they if you're interested in as far
[7:24] Speaker 1: as some insight into the company, and shout out to
[7:27] Speaker 1: Peter and Nas. You know, when we came back, when
[7:29] Speaker 1: we came back from in Video, we had dinner with
[7:32] Speaker 1: Nas and we was talking about in video.
[7:34] Speaker 3: We gotta let that breathe like that brief in two seconds.
[7:39] Speaker 2: He's been breathing over these things. So I was on
[7:41] Speaker 2: the phone with a million the other.
[7:42] Speaker 3: Day like, oh yeah that Nas, Yeah, that got you
[7:48] Speaker 3: that That never that always is going to be like
[7:52] Speaker 3: pretty surreal, Like you walk into the restaurant and it's no,
[7:55] Speaker 3: what's up, Troy, It's good, let's go, Like it's just
[7:58] Speaker 3: huh what man.
[8:00] Speaker 2: He's one of the greatest investors, like hands out of
[8:02] Speaker 2: this era. Like if you put his returns up against
[8:05] Speaker 2: any VC firm. It's not talked about in that light,
[8:09] Speaker 2: but he's outperformed majority of them.
[8:12] Speaker 1: Well, the thing and the reason why I said that
[8:13] Speaker 1: is the reason why could you know obviously he's on
[8:15] Speaker 1: a run right now. He's involved in the casino. You know,
[8:19] Speaker 1: everybody's seeing his investment portfolio. Massive Pill arguably had the
[8:23] Speaker 1: best year in rap as far as all the albums
[8:25] Speaker 1: that they put out. But you know, with him, he
[8:28] Speaker 1: was just like, yo, damn, I gotta learn about He's like, yo,
[8:32] Speaker 1: y'all gotta next time. Y'all got to take me like
[8:34] Speaker 1: d like asking us questions like Yo, what they what
[8:37] Speaker 1: was they talking about? What did they have?
[8:38] Speaker 3: Like?
[8:39] Speaker 1: So I say that to say he's obviously extremely successful person. Right,
[8:42] Speaker 1: That's that goes what I'm saying. But he spent more
[8:47] Speaker 1: time asking questions than talking. So somebody like somebody like
[8:53] Speaker 1: that who's a legend icon, can you know, spend time
[9:00] Speaker 1: asking questions? You gotta you gotta be able to you know,
[9:06] Speaker 1: receive the information. And that's why this show is so
[9:08] Speaker 1: And his partner Peter, he was like he actually he
[9:11] Speaker 1: actually watches market mondays and implements on the information. So
[9:16] Speaker 1: you know, it's just at the highest level possible. People
[9:18] Speaker 1: is paying attention and listening, so never take the information
[9:21] Speaker 1: for granted.
[9:22] Speaker 3: Please don't, please don't. It was so dope because he
[9:25] Speaker 3: references in video on the new album when he heard
[9:29] Speaker 3: that we win, it was just like he was like
[9:31] Speaker 3: a sponge like yo word. He's like, I think I
[9:34] Speaker 3: met the CEO once, man, like he's a good guy.
[9:37] Speaker 1: It was.
[9:38] Speaker 3: It was really surreal. Man.
[9:39] Speaker 1: Yeah, shout out to nas Man. Somebody said, Nazia Jones.
[9:42] Speaker 1: There's only one
