[0:00] Speaker 1: Let's talk about Apple versus open Ai showdown.
[0:06] Speaker 2: You know what, I've been talking about this for a
[0:09] Speaker 2: long period of time, and now the four stories kind
[0:12] Speaker 2: of come out. So open Ai recruited mister Tan. He
[0:16] Speaker 2: spent twenty four years of Apple. He was a VP
[0:19] Speaker 2: of product design, and all of a sudden, all the
[0:24] Speaker 2: data of how Apple sales, product ideas, etc.
[0:29] Speaker 1: Goes to open Ai.
[0:30] Speaker 2: So it's co founder with Johnny Ive. That's already interesting
[0:37] Speaker 2: to say the least, but they emailed out supplier Intel.
[0:42] Speaker 2: This is going to be one of the biggest issues
[0:44] Speaker 2: in Silicon Valley, I think, and his lawsuit is going
[0:47] Speaker 2: to be major. And going back to picking enemies, Sam
[0:51] Speaker 2: Autman has done a terrible job of understanding that relationships matter,
[0:56] Speaker 2: and you pick two of the most powerful people to
[0:59] Speaker 2: have as your enemies before you IPO in Apple and
[1:03] Speaker 2: in Elon Musk. I've told everyone else be careful what
[1:09] Speaker 2: data you put on Chat, GPT, put yes and chat.
[1:11] Speaker 2: If you remember me telling you, because I was getting
[1:13] Speaker 2: some of these rumblings about them taking data from creators
[1:16] Speaker 2: and business owners. But at this skill is insane and
[1:20] Speaker 2: it goes back to the character of the founder, like
[1:25] Speaker 2: there's a lot of things in that hit piece that
[1:27] Speaker 2: you can say we're salacious, but if you go read
[1:30] Speaker 2: that book, all of those things are not a lie.
[1:35] Speaker 2: Also too, for Microsoft, they're getting some of the blowback
[1:39] Speaker 2: and that's why they're doing their partnership now with Anthropic,
[1:43] Speaker 2: And you can make the argument they should have just
[1:45] Speaker 2: bought one of these companies opposed to just leaning the
[1:49] Speaker 2: open AI Apple, even though it all time how today
[1:55] Speaker 2: I was looking, I'm like, Apple probably would have been
[1:57] Speaker 2: at seven hundred if they would have got this AI race.
[2:00] Speaker 2: But picking the right partner is everything. And whatever the
[2:04] Speaker 2: founder character issues are, they're going to bleed into the company.
[2:09] Speaker 2: So just to let you know really quick. And they're
[2:11] Speaker 2: giving Oracle some issues as well. In the last seventy
[2:14] Speaker 2: two hours, they had a safety quit, they were sued
[2:16] Speaker 2: by the New York Times top executive departs, they shut
[2:19] Speaker 2: down their browser tool left in nine months and sou
[2:22] Speaker 2: for trade thus by Apple, and then their costs selling
[2:24] Speaker 2: product to China against sanctions. I keep telling you there's
[2:28] Speaker 2: a lot of tech companies in the United States of
[2:31] Speaker 2: America that are being spies allegedly for China or highest bidder.
[2:39] Speaker 3: That felt like a perfect segue because this is an
[2:44] Speaker 3: interesting time. I'm going to read a quote here from
[2:49] Speaker 3: kind of a person who is in that alleged spy mode.
[2:54] Speaker 1: General's name is Chang Lu.
[2:56] Speaker 3: He was allegedly utilized undiscovered authored uh other than Cache
[3:02] Speaker 3: and Bug on an unreturned Apple laptop to access shared
[3:05] Speaker 3: network folders. He allegedly downloaded dozens of highly confidential hardware files,
[3:09] Speaker 3: including technical specifications for unreleased products and proper preparatory circuit boards,
[3:17] Speaker 3: leaving messages mocking Apple about what look what I found.
[3:21] Speaker 3: So here's here's the crazy part. This suit happens at
[3:23] Speaker 3: an interesting time.
[3:25] Speaker 1: Right. We know that open ai You see what I
[3:27] Speaker 1: want with Yeah? Time is everything. Time is important.
[3:32] Speaker 3: So we know open ai is supposed to what was
[3:35] Speaker 3: supposed to IPO some way here in the next few
[3:38] Speaker 3: weeks that has been pushed back.
[3:41] Speaker 1: Interesting timing, John.
[3:43] Speaker 3: I've also has left Apple to join forces over at
[3:46] Speaker 3: Opening Eye Houston, and we covered it here. But Apple
[3:51] Speaker 3: suing them about trade secrets tells me a few things.
[3:55] Speaker 3: It tells me they know something or they've seen something
[3:59] Speaker 3: that they want to get a happy.
[4:02] Speaker 1: Because ip is in question. I want everybody to do.
[4:06] Speaker 3: This is the homework assignment tonight, Ian, this is a
[4:08] Speaker 3: homework assignment I'm giving out on your behalf. I want
[4:10] Speaker 3: everybody to search project Sweetpee, open Ai, project Sweetpee.
[4:16] Speaker 1: Why is that important?
[4:17] Speaker 3: Because second half of twenty twenty six, open ai is
[4:21] Speaker 3: going to not only release more software, they're going to
[4:24] Speaker 3: release their quote unquote or alleged hardware product.
[4:28] Speaker 1: What is it?
[4:29] Speaker 3: There's a few, There's a smart glass that allegedly is
[4:33] Speaker 3: on its way, a digital voice recorder, and a wearable pin.
[4:38] Speaker 3: Right now, we're starting to look at how we're going
[4:41] Speaker 3: to use AI going forward in the future. Will it
[4:44] Speaker 3: look like this right or will it look like a
[4:47] Speaker 3: small device that can just be attached to you. If
[4:50] Speaker 3: open ai can get ahead of that and be first
[4:52] Speaker 3: to market with that, the innovation is going to be there.
[4:55] Speaker 1: How many users will you have?
[4:57] Speaker 3: I think Apple knows that this is coming, and because
[5:00] Speaker 3: they know it's coming, let's get this out there. Let's
[5:04] Speaker 3: get off the end and let's put this suit out there. Now,
[5:06] Speaker 3: this is all just a complaint, right There still has
[5:09] Speaker 3: to be something that has to be proven.
[5:11] Speaker 1: This isn't in terms of too many documents.
[5:15] Speaker 2: And now to cut you off if you're going to
[5:17] Speaker 2: steal data from one of the largest international companies.
[5:21] Speaker 1: How about you not touch your friends about.
[5:23] Speaker 3: It or mock the people that you took it from.
[5:27] Speaker 3: Less Yes, allegedly, the timing of it, the idea of
[5:33] Speaker 3: what is coming down the pipeline. I think that there's
[5:36] Speaker 3: there's a lot more to the story and we're going
[5:38] Speaker 3: to see a lot more. But again, that talks to
[5:40] Speaker 3: leadership and also talks about poaching from talent. Right, the
[5:43] Speaker 3: fact that John I've left tells you that, Okay, Apple
[5:47] Speaker 3: from an innovation standpoint may be lacking. But open Ai
[5:50] Speaker 3: maybe where the future is now. John I brought his
[5:53] Speaker 3: company over in terms of innovation. He brought this company
[5:56] Speaker 3: over to open aim. We should be looking for a
[6:00] Speaker 3: product within the next three months, a hardware product, not
[6:03] Speaker 3: just a software one, not an update, a hardware product
[6:06] Speaker 3: from open Ai in the next I would say three months.
[6:09] Speaker 2: And open Ai took They're saying the number is four hundred.
[6:12] Speaker 2: I talked to my friend at Apple. It's more like
[6:16] Speaker 2: five hundred and fifty employees I've got poached. And while
[6:20] Speaker 2: y'all putting out that mid flip phone the Samsung had
[6:23] Speaker 2: twenty two years ago. The other part is Rashott you
[6:28] Speaker 2: talk a lot about manager relationships the way that Johnny
[6:31] Speaker 2: I've exited when they did that commercial together.
[6:33] Speaker 1: I said, it's a war. It's a war time.
[6:36] Speaker 2: So what so that even Elon to get revenge he
[6:40] Speaker 2: turned if you go look read this perspectus, SpaceX is
[6:44] Speaker 2: an AI company and he did that solely to eat
[6:48] Speaker 2: market share from Sam Altman. Now look very soon for
[6:53] Speaker 2: SpaceX and Apple to have a partnership.
[6:56] Speaker 1: The thing that you.
[6:57] Speaker 2: Don't factor up when you guys want to have a
[6:59] Speaker 2: Warren have beef as what if these teams get together
[7:02] Speaker 2: and start to wage war against you?
[7:05] Speaker 1: It's tough. I think.
[7:07] Speaker 3: I think it won't just be Apple that has a
[7:09] Speaker 3: SpaceX partnership. I see that's the next topic. But I
[7:12] Speaker 3: think in terms of where we're headed for a compute
[7:16] Speaker 3: and what it looks like here and what it looks
[7:18] Speaker 3: like in the oral economy, I know, the space economy.
[7:21] Speaker 3: I think that that he's going to create a monopoly,
[7:24] Speaker 3: what they're all going to need him.
[7:26] Speaker 1: I think that's what happened
