[0:00] Speaker 1: Yo, what is up? Boys? How's it going?
[0:01] Speaker 2: And welcome back to another episode of the Rank Cafe podcast.
[0:05] Speaker 2: We are somehow still doing this. This is still going.
[0:08] Speaker 2: This week we are covering a Lord of Mysteries. That's
[0:11] Speaker 2: the anime I recommended. We Recon recommended, funk. I don't
[0:14] Speaker 2: remember the name of it. What was it called the
[0:15] Speaker 2: Weakest Tamer blah blah blah, j some journey about trash.
[0:19] Speaker 3: The Weakest Tamer began a journey to pick up trash breaks.
[0:23] Speaker 2: You gotta get it right, Timber, Like you think I
[0:28] Speaker 2: like would do some prep or like write down the names,
[0:30] Speaker 2: But like, I shouldn't have to write down the name
[0:31] Speaker 2: of three anime. I shouldn't be that hard to remember
[0:33] Speaker 2: three anime.
[0:34] Speaker 3: But I'm not gonna lie that I take about it
[0:36] Speaker 3: every week because I forget to.
[0:37] Speaker 4: People call it the Weakest Tamer. That's the weakest, the
[0:40] Speaker 4: weakest dude.
[0:41] Speaker 2: Anime anime titles are long. The Weakest Tamer began a
[0:46] Speaker 2: journey to pick up trash is Recon's choice as usual,
[0:50] Speaker 2: and then Jordan for the boys in chat, he chose xxxolic.
[0:56] Speaker 2: We also want to talk about this new Securo anime.
[0:59] Speaker 2: Recon will enlighten us on that. Actually, why don't we
[1:02] Speaker 2: start with that. I don't think it's out yet, racon.
[1:04] Speaker 4: Right, No, no, but they revealed the first trailer a
[1:07] Speaker 4: couple of days ago, and it's I'm so damn excited.
[1:11] Speaker 4: Hell yeah, it's an anime. It's a full anime series
[1:17] Speaker 4: from start to finish. It's literally gonna adapt the entire game.
[1:20] Speaker 4: So you're gonna see the wolf fighting, all the famous
[1:24] Speaker 4: boss like a Nie Hero, the the the ape and
[1:27] Speaker 4: the ship and all. That's gonna be so awesome.
[1:30] Speaker 2: I wish they did Dark Souls one instead. That would
[1:34] Speaker 2: have been good Soles three. Actually I lied, I feel like, but.
[1:37] Speaker 4: It doesn't really have that much of a story Dark
[1:39] Speaker 4: Souls compared to Sequido.
[1:40] Speaker 2: Dark Souls has a lot of lore that I love
[1:43] Speaker 2: and good world building, but I do think Sequiro has
[1:46] Speaker 2: a more linear story that you could actually tell an
[1:48] Speaker 2: anime format, and it just it's gonna be I feel
[1:51] Speaker 2: like it's gonna be sick.
[1:54] Speaker 3: Okay.
[1:55] Speaker 4: The the animation quality looks good for it, and I'm
[1:58] Speaker 4: just excited to see, like the fight. They showed us
[2:01] Speaker 4: some snippets of wolf fighting geobl which was cool. I mean,
[2:06] Speaker 4: if you're a Secure you remember Giobel right, the first
[2:09] Speaker 4: of us.
[2:11] Speaker 2: I feel like, if you are a Secure fan, you're
[2:13] Speaker 2: gonna like this anime unless they butcher it.
[2:16] Speaker 3: The se is like, uh, is it is that like
[2:20] Speaker 3: Japanese Dark Souls or is that essentially okay?
[2:23] Speaker 4: Yeah, it's made by the same people who did Dark
[2:26] Speaker 4: Souls from frum Soft.
[2:27] Speaker 2: So it's the same company. It's a hard, difficult game
[2:30] Speaker 2: or like they're known for making difficult games, but this one,
[2:33] Speaker 2: rather than being more dark soulsy, it's more like Katana Japanese.
[2:40] Speaker 2: You're pairing a lot more stuff like that government based
[2:45] Speaker 2: as well, a lot more movement.
[2:46] Speaker 4: As a person who platinumed the game on the PlayStation,
[2:51] Speaker 4: I feel much obliged.
[2:53] Speaker 3: Does that mean you got every achievement?
[2:55] Speaker 1: Yeah?
[2:55] Speaker 3: Yeah, Platinum.
[2:59] Speaker 2: Let's talk about Lord of Mysteries.
[3:02] Speaker 3: Let's Lord of Mysteries.
[3:06] Speaker 2: So you guys have to take it away lot.
[3:08] Speaker 3: Had you seen it ever recommending it? Okay? Rican, you
[3:13] Speaker 3: want to get it started on this one?
[3:14] Speaker 4: There you said, you know what, Yeah, I've seen the
[3:17] Speaker 4: whole thing and it's done.
[3:21] Speaker 2: Now I didn't think it was done.
[3:22] Speaker 4: Yeah, it's done, it's done.
[3:23] Speaker 2: It's done. It must have just finished.
[3:26] Speaker 1: It finished on August sixteenth.
[3:28] Speaker 2: So okay, not long ago.
[3:32] Speaker 1: So there's a lot to say about this.
[3:35] Speaker 4: But first and foremost, this is not really aimed for newcomers,
[3:43] Speaker 4: or more to say, on the lines of people who
[3:45] Speaker 4: aren't that familiar with the Lord of the Mysteries.
[3:50] Speaker 1: The manga. I think, no, it's it's the novel.
[3:54] Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, the novel. I didn't even know a Lord
[3:58] Speaker 2: of Mysteries was prior to watching this animal. I think
[4:01] Speaker 2: at the newcomer, I still was able to enjoy it regardless,
[4:04] Speaker 2: it's enjoyable.
[4:05] Speaker 3: How many episodes did you watch? Just off here? Thirteen?
[4:10] Speaker 1: I said, all of it.
[4:12] Speaker 3: I'm so confused on that. Then everything I look at
[4:14] Speaker 3: says it's still airing.
[4:15] Speaker 1: This is this man, it's finished thirteen episodes.
[4:21] Speaker 3: Huh okay, I'll have to mess you about that.
[4:23] Speaker 1: Are you watching it?
[4:24] Speaker 3: I don't know. Everything I look at says there's only
[4:27] Speaker 3: like ten episodes out and episode eleven is airing in
[4:29] Speaker 3: like a day.
[4:30] Speaker 2: Honest, Jordan, that's what I thought too.
[4:32] Speaker 3: Yeah, so that's why I was a little little thrown
[4:34] Speaker 3: off here.
[4:37] Speaker 4: Hold on, hold on, hold on, I'm ruining the podcast.
[4:41] Speaker 3: You're good, So I guess uh, Lord of Mysteries. I've
[4:45] Speaker 3: read a lot of web novels over the years. I'm
[4:48] Speaker 3: not always like getting.
[4:49] Speaker 4: Threteen episodes on nine anime. I don't know where you
[4:52] Speaker 4: guys are watching it.
[4:53] Speaker 2: So for me, it says that there's thirteen total, but
[4:55] Speaker 2: there's only ten outs so far.
[4:57] Speaker 1: Yeah, but it's thirteen on nine anime.
[4:59] Speaker 2: I don't know about you. Someone fucking anime kai over
[5:01] Speaker 2: here anyway, continue Georgia.
[5:04] Speaker 3: Yeah, so I've read a lot of web novels over
[5:06] Speaker 3: the years, and I might not always like get that
[5:08] Speaker 3: far into them or be the biggest fan of the
[5:10] Speaker 3: ones I read, But there's so many times I just
[5:13] Speaker 3: jump into a random web novel and I read like
[5:14] Speaker 3: ten twenty chapters, or I read the first volume or
[5:17] Speaker 3: or whatever that consists of. Right, so I was at
[5:19] Speaker 3: least relatively familiar with with trance, not transmutation. I'm blinking
[5:27] Speaker 3: now on what it's called.
[5:29] Speaker 2: I don't know what the hell I know you're talking about.
[5:30] Speaker 3: That, Yeah, transfiguration whatever they do in the uh more
[5:36] Speaker 3: of the Korean slash Chinese novels. It's basically like their
[5:39] Speaker 3: version of an Isa Kai, where rather than just being
[5:41] Speaker 3: transported into a New World. You your mind like blends
[5:45] Speaker 3: with when an inhabitant of that world to where you're
[5:48] Speaker 3: you're basically you're you are that person with their memories,
[5:50] Speaker 3: but also you're, you know, some twenty year old dude
[5:53] Speaker 3: from China, right, So it's like the the memories of both.
[5:57] Speaker 3: So I was at least able to kind of follow along,
[6:01] Speaker 3: I feel like better than maybe some people did. But
[6:04] Speaker 3: even so, it feels like there's a lot of Show
[6:09] Speaker 3: not Tell, which is great. I love Show Not Tell,
[6:12] Speaker 3: but it was almost like still hard to follow along
[6:15] Speaker 3: at certain parts in these first three episodes that I watched.
[6:18] Speaker 3: Does that get better? Would you say, Ricon or like no,
[6:21] Speaker 3: because I I don't think go over the power system
[6:25] Speaker 3: and how that works a little bit at the start
[6:26] Speaker 3: of every episode, you know, like kind of like FMA
[6:28] Speaker 3: and them do. So I was hoping that would maybe
[6:30] Speaker 3: just elaborate on that a little bit more. But the
[6:33] Speaker 3: first three episodes it seemed like they really wanted to
[6:35] Speaker 3: get to that climax at the at the end of
[6:38] Speaker 3: episode three where he's like fighting a clown and stuff,
[6:40] Speaker 3: and which which was really cool. It was a really
[6:43] Speaker 3: cool fight, but yeah, it was hard, like hard to
[6:46] Speaker 3: follow at times. Right, there was a lot.
[6:47] Speaker 2: Going on sometimes I feel like one I do want
[6:51] Speaker 2: to start off by saying, I really really enjoyed the
[6:54] Speaker 2: first three episodes. I am genuinely loving this series. However,
[6:59] Speaker 2: while I do agree with you that Show Not Tell
[7:01] Speaker 2: is a good thing, I do think in combination with
[7:04] Speaker 2: the animation, which I do think is good at times,
[7:08] Speaker 2: sometimes it's overly animated in a way. There's so much
[7:11] Speaker 2: animation going on as fog and all these effects that
[7:14] Speaker 2: they're doing, which makes it a little bit harder to follow.
[7:19] Speaker 2: It's already confusing enough, not having one hundred percent grasp
[7:22] Speaker 2: of the power system. But sometimes in fights or in
[7:25] Speaker 2: certain moments, there's so much like visual clutter. It's like
[7:32] Speaker 2: what you're finding at Bangalore or a caustic in Apex Legends.
[7:36] Speaker 2: It's like, those are good characters, but now I don't
[7:39] Speaker 2: know what's going on. I don't know left from right.
[7:41] Speaker 3: Yeah, Yeah, there was a lot of action. I actually
[7:45] Speaker 3: didn't mind the animation that much. I figured the animation,
[7:49] Speaker 3: if anything, was very beautiful, and I loved a lot
[7:51] Speaker 3: of these transitions that they did. So I really wanted
[7:54] Speaker 3: to like this show, and I wouldn't say I don't
[7:57] Speaker 3: like it. I'm so torn and like in between on
[8:00] Speaker 3: whether I'm loving it or whether I'm like like, I'm
[8:04] Speaker 3: not sure what to feel about this show. I don't,
[8:07] Speaker 3: I don't know. I don't have a great score on
[8:09] Speaker 3: this one.
[8:09] Speaker 2: I am yet to like a Chinese anime. This will
[8:13] Speaker 2: probably be my favorite so far that I've experienced. But
[8:16] Speaker 2: what about the Kings Avatar that fucking sucked?
[8:19] Speaker 4: Dude?
[8:20] Speaker 3: I think that one is also based off of one novel, right,
[8:22] Speaker 3: So I'm honest.
[8:24] Speaker 2: I feel like these Chinese shows they are always like, well,
[8:27] Speaker 2: actually you needed to really like either like a really
[8:30] Speaker 2: high i Q to appreciate the subtle nuances this show,
[8:33] Speaker 2: or the main character is just like, well, actually I
[8:35] Speaker 2: am the best, and everyone shall see that I'm the best.
[8:39] Speaker 2: It's just I don't, I don't know, dude. It's to
[8:43] Speaker 2: be hero X Chinese. I thought it was Korean.
[8:45] Speaker 1: It's Chinese.
[8:46] Speaker 3: It's the best to be hero X, like those are?
[8:51] Speaker 3: Those are?
[8:52] Speaker 4: It's definitely the best one, the best link link click
[8:56] Speaker 4: and I take I take everything I back said, I
[8:58] Speaker 4: take I take it all back, my bad.
[8:59] Speaker 3: Every think that that director has done is usually kind
[9:01] Speaker 3: of head and shoulders above the rest, but uh, because
[9:04] Speaker 3: those are all three by the same director. But but
[9:08] Speaker 3: the visuals and a lot of these other shows that
[9:10] Speaker 3: we're getting are beautiful. It's just something about them, like
[9:13] Speaker 3: it's like tough for me to get fully immersed in.
[9:17] Speaker 3: I don't know how to word it or like how
[9:20] Speaker 3: best to verbalize that.
[9:23] Speaker 2: I feel like it has a lot of good things
[9:25] Speaker 2: going for it, and I hope it gets better and
[9:28] Speaker 2: I start to get more invested because I.
[9:30] Speaker 1: Kind of it.
[9:30] Speaker 2: I do agree with you, Jordan. It's like, oh, it
[9:32] Speaker 2: looks beautiful and it has some cool concepts and some
[9:35] Speaker 2: cool characters, Like I should like this, but it's taking me.
[9:39] Speaker 2: I'm struggling to be invested in it, and I think
[9:41] Speaker 2: maybe with more time, hopefully, yeah.
[9:44] Speaker 1: Get any better, you two. I'm just telling you right now,
[9:47] Speaker 1: that's so sad.
[9:48] Speaker 2: I have heard it doesn't get better. That it probably does.
[9:51] Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I have heard, like the role doesn't have
[9:55] Speaker 3: very much plot, armor or anything. Is what people have said.
[9:58] Speaker 3: That's good, which is which is definitely a plus. I
[10:01] Speaker 3: would say the only thing that uh he really had
[10:04] Speaker 3: going for him initially was there was another reincarnated person
[10:08] Speaker 3: that uh that had kind of written stuff down related
[10:12] Speaker 3: to that pathway, and he wrote it in Chinese, right,
[10:15] Speaker 3: so like they're struggling to try to decipher it, but
[10:18] Speaker 3: since he could read Chinese, he was able to just
[10:20] Speaker 3: read it. So I'd say that was like the one
[10:22] Speaker 3: boon that he did have. But aside from that, bro
[10:25] Speaker 3: Bro's has been trying to figure out what the heck's
[10:27] Speaker 3: going on? And I'm kind of right there with him, dude,
[10:29] Speaker 3: how much chaotic crap happens?
[10:31] Speaker 2: Like you said, Jordan, he basically wakes up in another
[10:34] Speaker 2: person's body in a different world. That person killed themselves,
[10:38] Speaker 2: and a bunch of other people where like he was,
[10:41] Speaker 2: or that individual was the night before, also killed themselves,
[10:44] Speaker 2: and this guy comes in and it's just like what
[10:46] Speaker 2: the hell is going on? Also, there's magical powers in
[10:49] Speaker 2: this world he they they're able to figure out that
[10:53] Speaker 2: he's a different Did they figure out he was a
[10:54] Speaker 2: different person?
[10:56] Speaker 3: So I don't know that part yet. I don't know.
[10:57] Speaker 2: They do know that he's.
[10:58] Speaker 3: An other other not not another worlder, but like what
[11:01] Speaker 3: do they call it whenever they have the power beyond beyonder?
[11:06] Speaker 3: So they don't know he's another worlder, Like they don't
[11:08] Speaker 3: know that he's like transmigrated or what have you. But
[11:10] Speaker 3: they do know that he's in a beyonder and he
[11:15] Speaker 3: has to choose his pathway and they're beyonders as well, right,
[11:17] Speaker 3: so he's not the only one.
[11:20] Speaker 2: This show is so dramatic. Sometimes it's so dramatic. Yeah,
[11:24] Speaker 2: I actually do still like it. I do like it,
[11:26] Speaker 2: and I'm excited to watch more re recon. What do
[11:28] Speaker 2: you think or you finished it? Like I'm just.
[11:33] Speaker 4: Gonna give like my overall thoughts on it and not
[11:35] Speaker 4: spoil too much for you guys, But personally, I think
[11:39] Speaker 4: a lot of people are going to be drawn to
[11:41] Speaker 4: this series, first of all, because it's an Isechai reincarnation
[11:43] Speaker 4: and the genre overall is just super popular, and Chinese
[11:49] Speaker 4: animation these days have had such a high production level
[11:53] Speaker 4: that it's just I can't help but appreciate the more
[11:56] Speaker 4: than normal.
[11:57] Speaker 1: Japanese anime these days.
[11:58] Speaker 3: I don't know why.
[11:59] Speaker 4: It's beautiful to look at, but it is like a
[12:02] Speaker 4: mess and a clutter sort of.
[12:04] Speaker 1: Because there's just so much going on.
[12:06] Speaker 4: But you can't really go into this anime without you know,
[12:11] Speaker 4: being hyper.
[12:12] Speaker 1: Focused onto what's going on, because there is.
[12:15] Speaker 4: Yeah, you gotta lock in you gotta like, Okay, you
[12:18] Speaker 4: gotta like look at every nitty gree details of what's
[12:21] Speaker 4: going on. But there is just so much going on
[12:24] Speaker 4: in this anime, so much terminology and shit being thrown
[12:28] Speaker 4: to the protagonist, and like, at one point he doesn't
[12:31] Speaker 4: know how to use powers or anything, and then in
[12:34] Speaker 4: the next episode he can use those.
[12:36] Speaker 1: Powers all of a sudden, Like it's like, what the
[12:38] Speaker 1: how the fuck did he know that?
[12:40] Speaker 4: There's really no explanation at all, which is the show's
[12:44] Speaker 4: biggest problem.
[12:45] Speaker 3: Like you always have hate, I hate saying this. I
[12:48] Speaker 3: almost feel like I'd rather read this one like just
[12:50] Speaker 3: because I am, like.
[12:52] Speaker 4: You guys said, there's a lot of show and not Tell,
[12:55] Speaker 4: which is which is for me a big problem in
[12:59] Speaker 4: the show because, like I said, at first, it's kind
[13:02] Speaker 4: of made for people who are already familiar with the
[13:05] Speaker 4: light novel of Lord of Mysteries.
[13:07] Speaker 3: Yeah, it's it's weird because show not Tells usually such
[13:11] Speaker 3: a good thing, but I almost feel like it almost
[13:14] Speaker 3: overdoes it to an extent, right with how quickly it's
[13:16] Speaker 3: trying to go through stuff to where it's like, I
[13:19] Speaker 3: don't know, even being familiar with those concepts, it's like
[13:21] Speaker 3: tough to follow along with right and yeah.
[13:24] Speaker 4: And it's like some at some points the protagonist doesn't
[13:26] Speaker 4: know what the hell is going on, and next he
[13:28] Speaker 4: becomes this oh mega lord who just knows everything in.
[13:31] Speaker 2: What's going on. Seem like early on where he ended
[13:35] Speaker 2: up in like the foggy area with and he created
[13:38] Speaker 2: like a table and a chair for him to sit on,
[13:39] Speaker 2: and he brought into other people from the world and
[13:43] Speaker 2: he's like, well, call me the fool. Like you went
[13:47] Speaker 2: from knowing nothing and having like like being like out
[13:50] Speaker 2: of the loop to out of nowhere, having these two
[13:54] Speaker 2: underlings that like fully think you're a god, Like what
[13:57] Speaker 2: is going on?
[13:58] Speaker 3: I did like that because he really didn't have any
[14:00] Speaker 3: yeah what was going on? And he didn't want to
[14:01] Speaker 3: like give his real name or anything, but he was
[14:03] Speaker 3: just winging it.
[14:04] Speaker 2: Right.
[14:05] Speaker 3: The series does have some funny moments. It's like and
[14:08] Speaker 3: it's not even like in your face funny, it's like, uh,
[14:11] Speaker 3: I don't know, very just casually funny like that like
[14:13] Speaker 3: them doing the arm thing. Yeah, I'm not gonna kind
[14:16] Speaker 3: of look like they were they were jacking it, but
[14:19] Speaker 3: it was it was funny as hell.
[14:20] Speaker 4: So honestly, if you both can continue watching it for sure,
[14:24] Speaker 4: but I mainly finished it just because the visuals really
[14:27] Speaker 4: kept me there. I like looking at it, even though
[14:30] Speaker 4: what the fuck is going on? I just really the animation.
[14:33] Speaker 2: They had some nice voice voice actors in the dub
[14:36] Speaker 2: as well. I don't get the voice actors.
[14:38] Speaker 1: No, I haven't.
[14:39] Speaker 3: I popped it on your reaction while you were watching
[14:41] Speaker 3: the dub, and I was mad at myself for not
[14:42] Speaker 3: walking dub dubs like this sounds so much like it.
[14:46] Speaker 3: It sounded good, it sounded.
[14:47] Speaker 2: Them, it suited them really well. I really appreciated the
[14:51] Speaker 2: dub of Load of Mysteries, and I also want oh,
[14:54] Speaker 2: this is a super random tangent. The main character sisters
[14:57] Speaker 2: names like Melissa Moretti, and she's not Italian. That's not possible.
[15:03] Speaker 2: That's literally not possible, Melissa Moratti, are you kidding me?
[15:06] Speaker 2: So I need to do some research.
[15:07] Speaker 3: They might not have Italy in this world. Okay, they
[15:09] Speaker 3: might not have Italy.
[15:10] Speaker 2: Actually that's true. It's not like they're from a person
[15:15] Speaker 2: not British. It's Victorian. It looks like it's like a
[15:17] Speaker 2: British setting. But still, I'm ready. It's so funny to me.
[15:20] Speaker 2: And then her brother kline, I like makes sense.
[15:28] Speaker 3: I do want to say, though watching stuff in Chinese
[15:31] Speaker 3: usually doesn't bother me. I think it's I was just
[15:33] Speaker 3: saying that because this show is so information heavy, right,
[15:35] Speaker 3: like if whatever makes that easier to ingest and follow
[15:38] Speaker 3: along with without having to be like super focused in
[15:41] Speaker 3: on every single episode, you know, I say, go for
[15:44] Speaker 3: it if that helps you out.
[15:47] Speaker 2: I do think the dub on this one also, like,
[15:50] Speaker 2: don't get me wrong, I think anime Japanese anime dubs
[15:53] Speaker 2: without him better and better without through time. But I
[15:56] Speaker 2: do like the accents and like the way these characters talk,
[16:00] Speaker 2: really fitting the the atmosphere and like the world that
[16:05] Speaker 2: they're in. And I do feel like sometimes sometimes the
[16:08] Speaker 2: anime does it, but a lot of times it's just
[16:10] Speaker 2: like badass character cute girl like you know, like they
[16:14] Speaker 2: have like very typical voices. It doesn't matter what era
[16:17] Speaker 2: they're in or thing in the dub versus in Japanese,
[16:21] Speaker 2: it tends to fit usually a little bit better until
[16:24] Speaker 2: they're trying to do an American accent and then it's terrible.
[16:29] Speaker 3: Anyway, So I think I would give this one like
[16:35] Speaker 3: like A I don't, I can't. I feel like I
[16:37] Speaker 3: can't give it a five because it looks so pretty,
[16:39] Speaker 3: but like I feel like a five point five for
[16:42] Speaker 3: now and then, uh, just for those first three episodes,
[16:45] Speaker 3: but like I want, I do want to kind of
[16:47] Speaker 3: watch more eventually and see or read more and just
[16:50] Speaker 3: kind of see where it goes, right, because I want
[16:54] Speaker 3: to give it a chance because it just because it
[16:56] Speaker 3: does look so pretty.
[16:57] Speaker 2: Okay, I'm going to surprise you. I'm going to give
[16:59] Speaker 2: it a seven out of ten for the first three episodes,
[17:01] Speaker 2: despite me not knowing what's going on, I feel like
[17:04] Speaker 2: it did so many things well enough for me to
[17:07] Speaker 2: want to keep watching. So I think the first three succeeded.
[17:09] Speaker 2: And from my perspective without hearing rical on telling me
[17:12] Speaker 2: it doesn't change. But in my perspective, it's like these questions,
[17:16] Speaker 2: these questions will all be answered. I will understand it
[17:19] Speaker 2: going forward, like you might, you might end up blind
[17:23] Speaker 2: with blind yours up. About the first three episodes, I
[17:26] Speaker 2: actually don't have that many complaints.
[17:28] Speaker 3: I do think by episode two it was probably much
[17:31] Speaker 3: easier to follow, and then it seems like it's doing
[17:34] Speaker 3: repetition on the showing, which is like what gives me
[17:37] Speaker 3: hope for same like for it kind of coming together
[17:40] Speaker 3: and making more sense eventually, especially with how they like
[17:42] Speaker 3: repeat that beginning sequence of the different pathways and stuff
[17:45] Speaker 3: each time. So like, I feel like it's one where
[17:48] Speaker 3: it might not make it clear from the get go,
[17:50] Speaker 3: but I'm hoping it just hammers it into me eventually,
[17:52] Speaker 3: like by the by the midway point.
[17:54] Speaker 2: Right, So fair, fair Ricin what would you give the
[17:57] Speaker 2: entire show out of ten?
[18:00] Speaker 4: I'd probably also give it a seven honestly, just like
[18:02] Speaker 4: you do. Just nice, but mainly for visual wise because
[18:06] Speaker 4: it's just pretty. But I'd have to subtract the other
[18:08] Speaker 4: points because I have no idea what that's going on.
[18:12] Speaker 3: I love the transitions in the show. They had a
[18:14] Speaker 3: lot of creative transitions, like just like a little mouse
[18:16] Speaker 3: running around or something in it.
[18:18] Speaker 2: Just I don't agree there. There was little things that
[18:21] Speaker 2: they animated that I'm like, I appreciate this. I wish
[18:23] Speaker 2: they did this in anime. M Anyway, let's move on
[18:28] Speaker 2: to the other anime, which when you talk about next.
[18:31] Speaker 3: Let's do Exit week coolic because oh, just because it's
[18:36] Speaker 3: it's another series where a character is suddenly joining like
[18:39] Speaker 3: a spiritual type of organization, right, we had two of
[18:42] Speaker 3: those this this week in the same week. So he
[18:45] Speaker 3: walks into a shop and then you just kind of
[18:47] Speaker 3: get signed up or and we.
[18:50] Speaker 2: Had we didn't see that the female character in uh
[18:54] Speaker 2: two of the chronicles. So our main character is Keemi
[18:57] Speaker 2: hero and he just walks into place and gets a job.
[19:00] Speaker 2: I wish it was that easy. God damn it, I know,
[19:03] Speaker 2: right and granted person who he didn't became a job
[19:05] Speaker 2: is a fucking milf too.
[19:07] Speaker 3: Oh my god, Brod, I wanted to talk about that.
[19:10] Speaker 3: Last week you had us watch the U the Yonder
[19:13] Speaker 3: a Dark Elf show, and I'm like, you know what,
[19:15] Speaker 3: I would have appreciated this so much more if I
[19:17] Speaker 3: didn't watch it like the same week as you know,
[19:20] Speaker 3: uh as this show where we had you goo like,
[19:23] Speaker 3: I'm like, this is just like a classic anime wife
[19:25] Speaker 3: who right like.
[19:26] Speaker 1: You goes Yonder Dark ELFH No, she's not.
[19:31] Speaker 3: I mean she doesn't.
[19:33] Speaker 2: But attract characters.
[19:36] Speaker 3: Were better, right they were? They were. I don't know,
[19:39] Speaker 3: there was just something about that mid two thousands.
[19:41] Speaker 1: Era, right atteractive animators.
[19:42] Speaker 3: What shitty animation, but shitty animation, but she was hot.
[19:46] Speaker 2: Youk Ichihara, Oh my goodness, she's on she's on the list.
[19:54] Speaker 2: She's on the list.
[19:54] Speaker 3: Man, she was in control. I don't know, I like that.
[19:59] Speaker 2: Anyway, thoughts of the series recon.
[20:03] Speaker 1: Uh decent.
[20:06] Speaker 4: I guess I didn't really help that the animation was
[20:09] Speaker 4: a bit on the weaker side, because.
[20:13] Speaker 3: This was production idea, man, not a bad production idea.
[20:17] Speaker 1: Not bad though. It's about Kimmi.
[20:20] Speaker 4: You know, you can like see these spirit creatures around him,
[20:24] Speaker 4: like he has those powers and it's like really bothering him,
[20:27] Speaker 4: and he wants to somehow get rid of it, and
[20:29] Speaker 4: he just walks into a fucking he just goes tries
[20:32] Speaker 4: to get jobs around and walks into a random store,
[20:35] Speaker 4: and then he encounters the beautiful Yuko and she claims
[20:39] Speaker 4: that she can, like I can get rid of these
[20:41] Speaker 4: spirits for you and those all those troublesome creatures, but
[20:46] Speaker 4: you must work in my store. And so yeah, he's like, yeah, sure, okay,
[20:51] Speaker 4: anything as long as he could get that power away
[20:54] Speaker 4: from me.
[20:54] Speaker 2: So that was that the the like the cause it
[20:57] Speaker 2: was like it had to be something of equal value, right,
[20:59] Speaker 2: it had to balance. Yeah, So in order for her
[21:02] Speaker 2: to remove the spirits, he had to work for her.
[21:05] Speaker 2: But what ended up happening is one of the spirits
[21:07] Speaker 2: I was following him ended up going on to another
[21:10] Speaker 2: girl and plaguing another girl, And was that like was
[21:15] Speaker 2: that her like you go fulfilling the wish in a
[21:18] Speaker 2: way or did it just happen?
[21:20] Speaker 3: So it is a wish granting shot, but I think
[21:21] Speaker 3: that one just kind of just happened because these spirits
[21:23] Speaker 3: aren't latched onto them, They're just kind of roaming, right,
[21:26] Speaker 3: So it's like things that you know are gonna happen.
[21:29] Speaker 3: It's not like she's necessarily making it happen. It's just
[21:34] Speaker 3: as far as I could tell, things are almost just
[21:37] Speaker 3: kind of faded to be and you can kind of
[21:38] Speaker 3: see the different possibilities of where things are going to
[21:40] Speaker 3: end up. Right. So it's like our main character has
[21:44] Speaker 3: a lot of different potential futures. But like the character
[21:48] Speaker 3: in episode two, right, like the way she lived her life,
[21:52] Speaker 3: there's only so many different ways that was going to go, right.
[21:55] Speaker 2: So the character in episode two just lied to everyone
[21:58] Speaker 2: and it may create like this dark around her and
[22:00] Speaker 2: stuff like that. And they tried to give her the ring,
[22:02] Speaker 2: but every lie just kept on taking away at that ring.
[22:07] Speaker 2: One of my favorite things though about the series is
[22:09] Speaker 2: the comedy, which is a big contrast to like.
[22:12] Speaker 4: Talking it's funny, it's creepy, it's dark, it's it's it's
[22:16] Speaker 4: pretty good, it's interesting.
[22:18] Speaker 3: Yeah, And I think it's one of those things where like,
[22:21] Speaker 3: if you wish hard enough on your future to be
[22:23] Speaker 3: a certain way, it's more likely to be that way.
[22:26] Speaker 3: So he was, you know, really not wanting the spirit
[22:28] Speaker 3: to follow him. But that girl from episode one, you
[22:31] Speaker 3: know she was lying about from episode one, she was
[22:33] Speaker 3: saying that she could see spirits and that she was
[22:35] Speaker 3: haunted by spirits, right, So like she kind of wanted that.
[22:38] Speaker 3: I think that in her life a bit. She wanted
[22:40] Speaker 3: that to be special in that way. And because of that,
[22:42] Speaker 3: the spirit you know, left him and kind of latched
[22:45] Speaker 3: onto her.
[22:45] Speaker 2: That's a cool perspective. I like that.
[22:47] Speaker 3: At least that was kind of how it seemed to me.
[22:49] Speaker 2: I couldn't see the spirits, but one ended up jumping
[22:52] Speaker 2: on her regard.
[22:53] Speaker 3: But she wanted attention, right, And so she's in there
[22:55] Speaker 3: talking about it.
[22:57] Speaker 2: Yeah, you don't know what it's like seeing spirits.
[23:00] Speaker 3: Rude as hell? Oh man. The woman in episode two
[23:04] Speaker 3: wasn't much better, Like as soon as she got in
[23:06] Speaker 3: that shop, Like I could tell right away, like that
[23:09] Speaker 3: she was a as soon as like it was on
[23:11] Speaker 3: the pinky that that the stuff was coming out, that
[23:15] Speaker 3: she was just like an impulsive liar. She was just
[23:17] Speaker 3: lying all the time.
[23:18] Speaker 2: So I didn't catch it immediately. I caught it a
[23:20] Speaker 2: little bit a little bit later.
[23:22] Speaker 4: They definitely make sure to sell it out twenty four
[23:25] Speaker 4: episodes and a second season. I don't.
[23:26] Speaker 1: I don't think I'm going to continue.
[23:29] Speaker 3: That's fair. There's a lot of stuff back in that
[23:31] Speaker 3: era that always had like twenty four episodes for season.
[23:33] Speaker 3: Like I feel like it was more of a like
[23:36] Speaker 3: twenty ten's and on type of thing where the shows
[23:38] Speaker 3: started having twelve episodes more often. Actually, I'm just saying it.
[23:41] Speaker 4: It has multiple sequels, but these the sequels are like OVAs.
[23:47] Speaker 3: Yeah, it was a pretty long mango. Like I said,
[23:49] Speaker 3: Cleamp's pretty pretty huge, right. They have a lot of
[23:52] Speaker 3: things that they do, and I think I think I'm
[23:54] Speaker 3: going to In particular, it was like two fourteen chapters.
[23:57] Speaker 1: I'm dropping a dough.
[23:58] Speaker 2: I would consider continuing watching it just for Yuko and
[24:01] Speaker 2: then also the comedy. Yeah, it made me laugh. The battle,
[24:06] Speaker 2: it made me laugh a bunch and Yuko is just
[24:08] Speaker 2: like a top wife who.
[24:10] Speaker 1: I really didn't care about the show at all.
[24:12] Speaker 4: It was just like, yeah, I'm like watching this with mommy,
[24:14] Speaker 4: but I.
[24:15] Speaker 3: Feel like I never finished clap stuff. But like, if
[24:17] Speaker 3: nothing else, they're fun to like take a peek into
[24:19] Speaker 3: and kind of see what it's all about. Right, it
[24:22] Speaker 3: was a fun little time. Episode two threw me off,
[24:25] Speaker 3: like I didn't expect her to just get the kayed
[24:27] Speaker 3: midway through, right, like, I know, yeah, truck couldn't came
[24:31] Speaker 3: out of nowhere. He was you know, just crazy. And
[24:36] Speaker 3: then uh, like you said, it was more so funny
[24:38] Speaker 3: than anything else. With all the little character interactions. I
[24:40] Speaker 3: thought our main character him being tall, slender clamp design
[24:44] Speaker 3: with the glasses, like he looks like he'd be, you know,
[24:47] Speaker 3: the mature guy that's just calm, cool and collected, but
[24:51] Speaker 3: he was a bit of a goober. And then the
[24:54] Speaker 3: friend he had at school was the guy he didn't
[24:58] Speaker 3: really quite get along with well at school was the
[25:00] Speaker 3: one that was calm, cool, collected, took everything with a
[25:02] Speaker 3: you know, in stride.
[25:03] Speaker 4: Right, I just realized the voice actor for h.
[25:09] Speaker 1: What's her name? Uko?
[25:10] Speaker 4: She did she did loose she did airs of scarlet.
[25:15] Speaker 1: She did like.
[25:17] Speaker 3: Quite yeah, if you like the voice, I think the
[25:19] Speaker 3: solids in English, in the in the Japanese. My biggest
[25:25] Speaker 3: complaint was that he had a crush on.
[25:29] Speaker 2: Oh, we're losing a Jordan Jordan's Oh no.
[25:33] Speaker 3: Jordan, get there. He just like you go sitting there
[25:38] Speaker 3: calling him out on it. And I just don't understand
[25:42] Speaker 3: some of these characters. Man, I don't get it.
[25:45] Speaker 4: I have no idea what you just said because you
[25:46] Speaker 4: cut out. You cut out for five seconds. But it's
[25:49] Speaker 4: oh no, I'm so sorry.
[25:51] Speaker 3: I was. I was just saying that I don't get
[25:52] Speaker 3: why he had a crush on his uh, his twin
[25:54] Speaker 3: tail classmate. Whenever you goes right there, that's great. Yeah, yeah,
[25:58] Speaker 3: Like I just don't understand these charac So that's my
[26:00] Speaker 3: biggest complaint.
[26:02] Speaker 2: Anyway, let's talk about the weakest. Tamer began actually with
[26:05] Speaker 2: the rate. With the rate the last anime xxx holic,
[26:08] Speaker 2: people were asking, did it age like wine or like
[26:10] Speaker 2: whiskey somewhere in between. I I don't love the animation,
[26:16] Speaker 2: but I'd give it.
[26:17] Speaker 3: I do like the art style for probably nostalgic reasons,
[26:20] Speaker 3: but like, uh, overall, it was just pretty all right.
[26:23] Speaker 3: I enjoyed it. I'd say probably like a five overall
[26:26] Speaker 3: for me, just based on the first three episodes, and
[26:28] Speaker 3: if I continued watching on my you know, start to
[26:31] Speaker 3: enjoy it more, I'm gonna drop.
[26:33] Speaker 1: It five out of ten.
[26:35] Speaker 2: I'll know it. U five point five. I'd rather go
[26:40] Speaker 2: back to watching smartphones. Shut the hell up.
[26:44] Speaker 3: Five is good for me, recount five is average.
[26:46] Speaker 2: Okay, this is anyway the weakest Tamer began a journey
[26:50] Speaker 2: to pick up trash and for a relatively slow show
[26:55] Speaker 2: with tons of inner monologue. I kind of enjoyed it.
[27:00] Speaker 1: Let's go.
[27:01] Speaker 3: This one.
[27:03] Speaker 2: Enjoy it.
[27:06] Speaker 1: I told you guys, you'd like this.
[27:08] Speaker 2: That's best show of the week. Lord of Mysteries still
[27:11] Speaker 2: let's be real.
[27:13] Speaker 4: You know, visually, visually yes, but like story wise, no, no, no.
[27:19] Speaker 3: Lord of Mysteries was like a really talented anime that
[27:23] Speaker 3: was just sprinting way too hard, trying to trying to
[27:26] Speaker 3: get to where it's going. This this was an anime
[27:29] Speaker 3: that's kind of knew what it was. It was called
[27:30] Speaker 3: cool Collected. It was just taking its time with a
[27:32] Speaker 3: cool little stride, right like. It was very slow through
[27:35] Speaker 3: those first two episodes, but in a way I don't mind.
[27:37] Speaker 3: And then uh, we actually do get the backstory there
[27:39] Speaker 3: in episode three, So I think three episode rule works
[27:42] Speaker 3: pretty well for this show.
[27:43] Speaker 1: Take it away, what do you guys think?
[27:47] Speaker 2: So it covers the story of a young girl named
[27:50] Speaker 2: Ivy and she has no star or no power, so
[27:53] Speaker 2: similar to like in a world like Mashall where you
[27:55] Speaker 2: don't have magic. With no star, she's seen as like
[28:00] Speaker 2: useless and like they want to get rid of her,
[28:02] Speaker 2: which I also always blows my mind. It's like, why
[28:05] Speaker 2: do you want to randomly kill this young child because
[28:08] Speaker 2: they don't have any abilities, there are no threat to you,
[28:11] Speaker 2: just I guess the reaper. They don't want They don't
[28:13] Speaker 2: want them to maybe reproduce and like spread.
[28:15] Speaker 4: No.
[28:15] Speaker 3: No, So it seems like marless religious reason if you
[28:17] Speaker 3: are starless.
[28:19] Speaker 4: If you are starless, they consider you cursed.
[28:22] Speaker 1: So they want to get rid of you.
[28:23] Speaker 3: The change up from the family in episode three was crazy,
[28:26] Speaker 3: Like I did not think it would be to that extent,
[28:28] Speaker 3: right the uh we see like she's a daddy's girl
[28:31] Speaker 3: until they find out she's starless, in which case he's like,
[28:34] Speaker 3: that's no daughter of mine. He's suddenly accusing the wife
[28:37] Speaker 3: of us, like are you sure she's my daughter? And
[28:39] Speaker 3: it's like her hair's green, like the same colors. There's
[28:41] Speaker 3: just that's from you man.
[28:43] Speaker 4: Like they get rid of her because she's starless, and
[28:47] Speaker 4: like they fear bad things will happen because she's cursed.
[28:52] Speaker 1: She might be cursed.
[28:52] Speaker 2: So yeah, it was like being a witch back in
[28:54] Speaker 2: the day. It's like like in this world, it's like
[28:56] Speaker 2: if you have if you're not a witch fucking burder.
[28:59] Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, it was very much, very much felt like
[29:01] Speaker 3: a witch hunt. I think that's kind of what it was. Uh,
[29:05] Speaker 3: And that's honestly what the the voice in her head
[29:07] Speaker 3: said was like which hunt? Because that, you know, it
[29:11] Speaker 3: felt less like Aniecai more than that she was haunted
[29:13] Speaker 3: by like a Japanese girl, like because she would like
[29:15] Speaker 3: have conversations with that. Yeah, like random references from her head, right,
[29:19] Speaker 3: but uh like like they disagree and she's like, what
[29:22] Speaker 3: are you talking about? What do you mean? Which hunt?
[29:24] Speaker 2: But I just kept on joking around the entire time.
[29:27] Speaker 2: Once she's found that really small clear slime, I'm like,
[29:30] Speaker 2: this line is gonna fucking dig evolve too, like and
[29:35] Speaker 2: then I'm like I'm like it's alive. Now something's gonna happen.
[29:38] Speaker 2: It starts absorbing things and then having abilities and like, okay,
[29:41] Speaker 2: of course no.
[29:42] Speaker 3: I actually liked that it wasn't very overpowered like they were, like,
[29:45] Speaker 3: this is a slime that like the wind could kill it,
[29:48] Speaker 3: like and the ability it got like it it sits
[29:51] Speaker 3: there and it eats uh like those healing potions, right,
[29:54] Speaker 3: and then it has some healing properties. But like she
[29:57] Speaker 3: was like knocked out and then like it was able
[29:59] Speaker 3: to healer, but it took a long while, right, Like,
[30:02] Speaker 3: it doesn't feel like an overpowered monster by any means. Yeah,
[30:04] Speaker 3: it still feels like she is the weakest tamer.
[30:06] Speaker 2: Just wait til is a fucking dinosaur.
[30:08] Speaker 3: Dude, maybe maybe this could be.
[30:11] Speaker 1: I'm not gonna spoil I'm not gonna.
[30:13] Speaker 3: Spoil it, okaycause it doesn't feel like it.
[30:16] Speaker 2: Dude, the slimes that killed the Demon king. For sure.
[30:21] Speaker 2: I did like how weak it was. It was very cute,
[30:23] Speaker 2: very weak, and she cared for it and actually spent
[30:26] Speaker 2: time with it, and everyone else would have just shrugged
[30:28] Speaker 2: it off and it would have just died. It had
[30:29] Speaker 2: the life expectancy people would say of twenty four to
[30:32] Speaker 2: forty eight hours because a small wind would kill it, right,
[30:35] Speaker 2: she stayed with it, slept with it. It ended up
[30:37] Speaker 2: living in her scroll or her bag or something, and
[30:41] Speaker 2: like her having that, like the kindness to care for
[30:44] Speaker 2: it ended up helping her in the future because it
[30:47] Speaker 2: did end up getting stronger slowly. And I do think
[30:50] Speaker 2: in the long run, this slime is the slime that
[30:53] Speaker 2: gets the kaide into the other Slimey Sakai another person. Yeah,
[31:01] Speaker 2: that slime ismo tempest, but then another person into its
[31:06] Speaker 2: body and.
[31:06] Speaker 3: Then we just yeah, we just went into Lord of
[31:10] Speaker 3: mysteries right where rather THANKI it's uh. I always struggle
[31:14] Speaker 3: struggle with this word whatever it is, the trans thing, Yeah, transfiguration, transputation, whatever,
[31:21] Speaker 3: whatever it is. That's what they did, right, They combined together. Okay,
[31:25] Speaker 3: we're solving the mysteries here, the mysteries of the.
[31:28] Speaker 2: I think the slime went to that world and then
[31:30] Speaker 2: Rimrou from his other world whatever his name was, went
[31:32] Speaker 2: to that world and they just sharing a body, and
[31:35] Speaker 2: the slime's just crying in a dark hole right now.
[31:38] Speaker 3: I like that.
[31:41] Speaker 2: Anyway. I actually quite enjoyed this anime. I'm gonna give
[31:44] Speaker 2: it like a six point five let me give.
[31:47] Speaker 3: It a solid six. I enjoyed it a lot, so
[31:49] Speaker 3: it was cute. It was like not like an amazing
[31:53] Speaker 3: like not among my favorites, but I would definitely probably
[31:56] Speaker 3: say it's above average for uh, like the way.
[31:59] Speaker 4: I gave it even an eight for the whole show,
[32:01] Speaker 4: it was.
[32:01] Speaker 3: Very good, Okay, would you say it like uh? Because
[32:06] Speaker 3: there's a lot of stuff in the opening of like
[32:08] Speaker 3: actually having companions and like them doing stuff. It gets
[32:11] Speaker 3: up after those first.
[32:13] Speaker 1: It gets a lot better.
[32:15] Speaker 4: You get to like know a bit more about Ivy's life.
[32:19] Speaker 4: You get to know more about the slime and what's it's,
[32:22] Speaker 4: what it's capable of. She meets me and then trouble
[32:26] Speaker 4: starts happening, and then you got to solve the trouble
[32:29] Speaker 4: and like she and then at some point also she's
[32:31] Speaker 4: gonna go back to her village.
[32:33] Speaker 1: And then things happened. It's like, it's it's so interesting.
[32:38] Speaker 3: All right, I might need to keep going on this one.
[32:39] Speaker 3: But it sounds like Briggs was on point. We don't
[32:41] Speaker 3: know what the slime is capable of yet, Okay, I was.
[32:44] Speaker 3: I was kind of hoping he was a weak little thing.
[32:46] Speaker 2: No, that dude, that slime is gonna be fucking god
[32:49] Speaker 2: pretty soon.
[32:51] Speaker 3: I figured it was the mascot, you know, it's like
[32:53] Speaker 3: a little Pikachu. Do you think of the.
[32:57] Speaker 2: I can't wait for the fucking Digimond theme th on
[32:59] Speaker 2: it just to start turning on.
[33:01] Speaker 1: Do you do you guys?
[33:01] Speaker 4: Do you want me to tell you guys? What the
[33:03] Speaker 4: at least what the slime like? The rarity of the slime.
[33:08] Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm down. Are you are you against the wait?
[33:10] Speaker 2: Wait wait Jordan, are you okay with him spoiling the
[33:12] Speaker 2: slime's rarity?
[33:14] Speaker 3: Go for it. I've seen so many it's not gonna slime.
[33:19] Speaker 4: So a lot of so a lot of characters know
[33:21] Speaker 4: about slimes and ship like that. But this slime in
[33:23] Speaker 4: particular is like super a high quality s rank for
[33:30] Speaker 4: a for a because of course it can do things
[33:34] Speaker 4: no other slime can.
[33:35] Speaker 3: That's I mean, that makes sense, and I would like
[33:38] Speaker 3: to think that, like the reason it even survived was
[33:40] Speaker 3: because she like put it in her bag and stuff
[33:42] Speaker 3: and it had food to kind of consume, whereas initially
[33:45] Speaker 3: it's probably so weak it's not gonna go get food
[33:47] Speaker 3: on its own or anything like that. Right, Like the
[33:49] Speaker 3: so the wind almost killed it.
[33:50] Speaker 2: Yeah, I could picture being taken out by a light breeze,
[33:53] Speaker 2: one of those things where it's like they exist, but
[33:56] Speaker 2: they don't survive, but they all have They have the
[33:58] Speaker 2: potential to exponential grow and absorb and get stronger throughout time,
[34:02] Speaker 2: but they have to survive the initial time and have
[34:04] Speaker 2: someone in journey with and help them along the way, which.
[34:07] Speaker 3: I wouldn't mind that. That sounds really cool.
[34:10] Speaker 2: I like it.
[34:13] Speaker 3: Yeah, cute little show, except it reminds me a little
[34:16] Speaker 3: bit and I think somebody in Chad also said this
[34:18] Speaker 3: of a of a sentence of a bookworm, which was
[34:22] Speaker 3: like in my top five pieces of guys from reading garbage.
[34:26] Speaker 3: I haven't watched the anime for that, but the book's solid.
[34:29] Speaker 2: So it was a boring start. I didn't give it
[34:31] Speaker 2: much of a fair.
[34:34] Speaker 3: It's a slow one. It's a very slow burn. But
[34:36] Speaker 3: I like them.
[34:38] Speaker 4: Any books, anything about books, hell, now, man, I'm out
[34:42] Speaker 4: anything about I'm allergic to.
[34:44] Speaker 3: I'm addicted to books and manga and all that. I'm
[34:48] Speaker 3: so addicted.
[34:50] Speaker 1: Anything book related through that, all.
[34:54] Speaker 3: Right, let me find something book related for next week?
[34:57] Speaker 1: Oh come on, man, you know, yeah, what.
[35:02] Speaker 2: Do you guys want to watch next week.
[35:05] Speaker 4: I think I'm going to recommend to you guys the
[35:09] Speaker 4: Daily Life of the Immortal King.
[35:12] Speaker 3: Okay, I think you've been talking about this one for
[35:14] Speaker 3: for a bit, right? Is this also a Chinese Yes.
[35:17] Speaker 4: Is a Chinese anime that is extremely popular.
[35:21] Speaker 3: Gotcha? Gotcha?
[35:23] Speaker 4: And it has four seasons, I believe in totals.
[35:28] Speaker 3: Did you ever send you that list?
[35:29] Speaker 2: I don't think I did. I don't know if I
[35:32] Speaker 2: watched this. I think I thought I did, But there's
[35:36] Speaker 2: so many Immortal King.
[35:39] Speaker 4: No, you haven't watched this because it's Chinese.
[35:41] Speaker 3: I haven't watched. That's very similar to where.
[35:44] Speaker 2: I watch an immortal anime on Netflix and it looks familiar. Whatever.
[35:49] Speaker 2: We'll find out when I go to go to watch it.
[35:52] Speaker 2: O Mortal, something else? Immortal?
[35:58] Speaker 3: All right?
[36:00] Speaker 4: Uh?
[36:00] Speaker 1: I don't known you.
[36:01] Speaker 2: Want me to send you the list?
[36:03] Speaker 4: Uh?
[36:03] Speaker 3: Yeah, I send it to me for next time. For
[36:05] Speaker 3: this time, I'll just go ahead and recommend one where
[36:07] Speaker 3: main character is an author that writes manga, so he's
[36:10] Speaker 3: a mangica. It's called Kokushi Goto, so it's relatively new.
[36:16] Speaker 3: It came out in twenty twenty, so uh who Kakushi? Yeah,
[36:21] Speaker 3: Kakushi Goto what was how you pronounce a lot of
[36:24] Speaker 3: work playing it?
[36:25] Speaker 2: What was that manga one that you recommended me a
[36:27] Speaker 2: long time ago that I really liked, blakum On or
[36:30] Speaker 2: Blachomon that was great.
[36:33] Speaker 3: Yeah, that one's by the authors of of Death Note
[36:35] Speaker 3: and stuff. Same duo that that did that. So they
[36:38] Speaker 3: wrote a manga about, you know, amonga author duos.
[36:42] Speaker 2: But anyway, I'm going to recommend Requiem of of Rose King.
[36:49] Speaker 3: Requreem of Rose King.
[36:51] Speaker 2: I haven't seen it either.
[36:53] Speaker 3: This one sounds fancy.
[36:54] Speaker 4: Uh, I thought, are you going to say Raccoon for
[36:58] Speaker 4: the Phantom?
[37:00] Speaker 3: I've seen that a good good show?
[37:01] Speaker 4: Yeah, good show?
[37:05] Speaker 3: Oh god break okay. Twenty twenty two, Oh it's new.
[37:11] Speaker 3: What is it called Requiem of the Rose King?
[37:13] Speaker 1: Recreem?
[37:15] Speaker 2: Yeah?
[37:15] Speaker 3: Yeah, how do you pronounce that you just did for
[37:19] Speaker 3: recreem for the Requiem?
[37:22] Speaker 4: No requiem, Requiem for the fans?
[37:24] Speaker 1: Is it requiem or requem?
[37:27] Speaker 2: I've always said, when did it come out?
[37:33] Speaker 3: Twenty twenty two? I think right, mm hmm, January the June.
[37:38] Speaker 2: Twenty thirty, October fifteen original run.
[37:44] Speaker 1: I've seen this. I've seen this. I've seen this.
[37:46] Speaker 4: It's I've seen this.
[37:51] Speaker 3: It's so fucking average Recordeum of the Rose King, Right.
[37:55] Speaker 1: Yeah, I've seen it. It's average.
[37:57] Speaker 2: I just I'm like, why did this twenty two?
[38:02] Speaker 1: It's very average?
[38:05] Speaker 2: All right, I'll find something else to recommend. Let's watch
[38:08] Speaker 2: Romantic Killer.
[38:09] Speaker 3: Wait, why are you finding something else?
[38:11] Speaker 1: Seen it?
[38:11] Speaker 2: Because I already you see Romantic Killer too. Yeah, okay,
[38:15] Speaker 2: we're watching on the Rose King.
[38:16] Speaker 3: Then we can't seen everything. If you recommend twenty twelve
[38:22] Speaker 3: or after.
[38:22] Speaker 4: I've seen a Romantic Killer on Netflix, it was it was,
[38:25] Speaker 4: it was solid.
[38:26] Speaker 2: Okay, so that's a lot of Romantic Killer.
[38:27] Speaker 4: Then, honestly, between those two Briggs, I would I would
[38:32] Speaker 4: suggest a Romantic Killer.
[38:34] Speaker 2: I love that. I'm it's it's tough. It's either I
[38:36] Speaker 2: annoy recall with something he's gonna hate, or I pick
[38:38] Speaker 2: something new that he's already seen.
[38:41] Speaker 4: If you recommend anything from like the previous year's guaranteed
[38:46] Speaker 4: I've watched it.
[38:48] Speaker 1: There's very little chance I would say no to that.
[38:52] Speaker 2: Did you ever finish Ping Pong Jordan?
[38:54] Speaker 3: I have not yet. I did finish. I need to
[38:56] Speaker 3: go back and finish Ping Pong Ping Pong.
[38:58] Speaker 4: So good.
[38:59] Speaker 3: I just prayer because I was midway through it and
[39:01] Speaker 3: I'm like, if I don't finish this now, I'm I'm
[39:04] Speaker 3: gonna forget what was going on.
[39:06] Speaker 2: Recon it's so good. I'm telling you, if you gave
[39:08] Speaker 2: it more time and watch what I know, it's so good. No,
[39:11] Speaker 2: it's literally probably my top twenty favorite anime of all time.
[39:16] Speaker 3: I will finish, though, don't mark my words, mark my words.
[39:21] Speaker 2: This guy, he doesn't get it.
[39:23] Speaker 3: We have Romantic Killer, Cagushi Goto, and then, uh, what
[39:28] Speaker 3: was Recon's again? Just the Daily Life of the Immortal King,
[39:32] Speaker 3: Daily Life of the Immortal King. Okay, Daily Life of
[39:37] Speaker 3: the Immortal King. Good luck finding that everybody there. There's
[39:40] Speaker 3: gonna be twenty million of them, but we know which
[39:42] Speaker 3: one to watch.
[39:43] Speaker 2: I swear I watched it episode something on Netflix and
[39:46] Speaker 2: it was like a mortal something with a mortal in it,
[39:49] Speaker 2: and it was dude, I can't remember.
[39:52] Speaker 4: I don't think Daily, I don't think the Immortal, I
[39:54] Speaker 4: don't think the I don't think it's on Netflix. I
[39:57] Speaker 4: haven't seen it.
[39:57] Speaker 2: I think it had that same name. I swear it
[40:01] Speaker 2: had that same name, but I look at the pictures
[40:02] Speaker 2: and I don't remember this at all.
[40:05] Speaker 3: So there's one I ended up dropping that uh was
[40:09] Speaker 3: called Let's see if I can find it. The Misfit
[40:13] Speaker 3: of Demon King Academy. No, no, yeah, the history is strongest.
[40:16] Speaker 3: The Demon King reincarnates and goes to school with his descendants.
[40:19] Speaker 3: I say, sort of that one, and that's what I
[40:23] Speaker 3: think of. I feel like every time people say a
[40:25] Speaker 3: show like that. But but I know they're all different,
[40:31] Speaker 3: all the shows very very similar. But I say that
[40:34] Speaker 3: this might not be anisa guy, I have no idea.
[40:38] Speaker 3: Is it sad? I just assume it's Anisaki. I don't
[40:41] Speaker 3: think it is.
[40:43] Speaker 1: No, it's the one I recommend it.
[40:44] Speaker 4: It's not it's not any Nope, they all live in
[40:47] Speaker 4: the world.
[40:48] Speaker 3: That's a sad assumption on my part.
[40:49] Speaker 2: Okay, In the daily life of the Immortal King, is
[40:51] Speaker 2: there a scene where they go to like another school
[40:54] Speaker 2: and they have to fight against like other students.
[40:57] Speaker 3: That's every anime ever breaks What do you talked about?
[40:59] Speaker 2: Is yeah, it doesn't happen in this one or no.
[41:05] Speaker 4: Yeah, there's a lot of battle between students and ship.
[41:07] Speaker 2: Yeah. I might have seen it. Guys, I might have, did.
[41:11] Speaker 3: You you don't remember it?
[41:14] Speaker 2: Basically, I think it was one of those ones I
[41:18] Speaker 2: threw on Netflix like before bed. Yeah, like, this is ridiculous,
[41:22] Speaker 2: like the Overpowered MC. It was just it was so ridiculous.
[41:27] Speaker 4: Yeah, the protagonist is extremely overpowered.
[41:30] Speaker 1: He's basically a demon lord.
[41:32] Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, all right, m it's also every anime ever yep,
[41:40] Speaker 2: just like the anime ever.
[41:44] Speaker 3: All right, I think we got our three.
[41:45] Speaker 2: This guy does not look familiar at all, like at all, Like,
[41:48] Speaker 2: I know I've watched his show, but nothing, no one
[41:51] Speaker 2: looks familiar, Like how did I forget everything? It's been
[41:53] Speaker 2: like wipe for my memory.
[41:54] Speaker 3: Are you sure it's the same show or are you
[41:56] Speaker 3: thinking of instead of ling?
[41:59] Speaker 4: Wang, I'm typing Immortal Immortal King on mal and I'm
[42:05] Speaker 4: just seeing the daily off of the Immortal King.
[42:07] Speaker 1: There is no other Immortal King.
[42:09] Speaker 2: I mean, I'll find out, Chat, I'll find out. We're
[42:12] Speaker 2: watching it. We're watching it right now anyway, guys. I
[42:15] Speaker 2: hope you guys enjoy it. I hope you, oh my god,
[42:18] Speaker 2: enjoyed the Rank Cafe. Next week we're watching the anime
[42:21] Speaker 2: we just talked about. As for the day, we'll have
[42:23] Speaker 2: to figure it out and play by ear as usual.
[42:26] Speaker 2: Chim pocke you and I'll see you all next time.
[42:30] Speaker 4: Wang,
