[0:09] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But as usual, before we get started, I like to buy us all the listeners.
[0:12] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Walkers.
[0:12] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Everybody's hit that light button that rate, give us a five star rating review.
[0:17] \[SPEAKER_00\]: All these things is free, man.
[0:18] \[SPEAKER_00\]: If you rockin' with us, you support the show.
[0:20] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Y'all could do all those things in free English, cause y'all nothing.
[0:24] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And we read all the comments, we'd like to feedback that we get.
[0:26] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So if y'all could do those things before I start this episode, like I said, I would greatly greatly appreciate it.
[0:32] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And today I got a very special episode for y'all.
[0:34] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Now this is this is super special because today is my birthday, man.
[0:38] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm super happy.
[0:39] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And grateful to make it to thirty-two years.
[0:42] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So if you watch it and listen to this, depending on what you watch, but if you listen to it on the day it came out today, it's my birthday, like I said, I'm super grateful, excited, excited to be excited to be living, to see another year.
[0:53] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm excited to have you all here with me on this journey, you know, tapping into the me and my sister's podcast, y'all could be anywhere in the world.
[1:00] \[SPEAKER_00\]: doing whatever right now but y'all here with me so I definitely want to say thank y'all for being with me on this journey like I said I'm excited man I've experienced a lot I'm so happy where I am in life like I've been overcame a lot of things that were a lot of things and I mean at thirty-two your boy getting up there I start this podcast when I started this I think I was like twenty-six twenty-seven maybe I can't remember enough I'm thirty-two which is crazy but before we get started to this is an episode
[1:29] \[SPEAKER_00\]: a money mistakes and secret.
[1:30] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And I got this is a really good one.
[1:33] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like I picked this one specifically because I had several others, but I'll speak this one because when I'm reading this story, this guy's a vet.
[1:41] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So I know firsthand the things that vet go through, but these lessons that apply in this story, like like usual, they can apply to any and everyone.
[1:49] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But before we get started, right?
[1:50] \[SPEAKER_00\]: All of a sudden thinking like I said today's my birthday.
[1:54] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And I was thinking how, like, I remember in my twenties, um, my early mid twenties, I remember just grinding, working, working so hard.
[2:03] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And because I thought, I thought of that quote.
[2:05] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's a famous quote that people say they say, um, grinding your twenties, building your thirties and chilling your forties.
[2:12] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And I made a video discussing this and I said,
[2:15] \[SPEAKER_00\]: that quote is one whoever made whoever created that on the who was the whoever came up with that that's one of the realist quotes ever man because it's so real like I'm looking back at it now my twenties was a grime part large part of my twenties I was in the military another part of it I was a student another part I was an active business owner I still am to this day of food time business owner I feel that to this day but it was a grime like I remember
[2:42] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Working twelve hours a day, six days a week, and a hundred and a hundred and twenty degree, whether no exaggeration.
[2:48] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I was in the middle east and got up to a hundred and thirty, and I was working twelve hours a day, and I remember these moments, like it was yesterday, because it was a hard grind, like, and thinking to myself like, man, I got it.
[2:59] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I got to run it up.
[3:00] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I got to do some because I ain't trying to be working like this forever.
[3:03] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Now that I'm thirty-two and my life, I'm still grounded.
[3:06] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I still work extremely hard, but now it's a different type of ground.
[3:09] \[SPEAKER_00\]: As a moral, I'm playing a chestnut.
[3:11] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I don't have to do all these different things where I necessarily don't want to do them, but I need the money.
[3:16] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's a much more relaxed.
[3:18] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I can spend more time on my family.
[3:20] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I can do the things that I like to do traveling.
[3:22] \[SPEAKER_00\]: playing golf.
[3:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like whatever I meant to know, I can do it, but it's because all the work that I put in my twenties.
[3:29] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So I'm saying all this to say.
[3:31] \[SPEAKER_00\]: If you young, right, cause I talk to a lot of young people, especially like in the mid-twenties early twenties.
[3:36] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And I know what they go through, cause I've been here and they like, man, I'm working hard.
[3:40] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I don't know when it's gonna get better.
[3:42] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm telling you things definitely get greater later, as long as you consistently put in that working.
[3:49] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Now, if you're not putting that working, you be asking, like you taking six months off a year off, cause you feel like you got forever to live.
[3:57] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Stuff probably not going to get better for you as crickets you would like just because you bullshit and you wasting a lot of time that could be putting into you developing yourself and working.
[4:04] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But if you somebody with your head down and you grind it, but not only are you grinding.
[4:09] \[SPEAKER_00\]: you trying to learn new things, you investing into your skillsets, you investing into your mental, because that's what I did in my twenties.
[4:17] \[SPEAKER_00\]: When I was about twenty, three, twenty, four, that's what I was so strongly invested into learning things about investing in stock market and buying crypto, investing in real estate.
[4:27] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So if you're doing those things, why are you grinding?
[4:31] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm telling you, man, I'm living proof.
[4:34] \[SPEAKER_00\]: By the time you hit thirty, even, but maybe before you hit thirty, before you hit thirty, depending on how young you are,
[4:39] \[SPEAKER_00\]: your life gonna be lit, like they got the common joke on a lot, what they say, your thirties, and nothing but, you know what they say, your thirties is your twenties, but you just got money now.
[4:50] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And that's real for a lot of people, but like I said, you gotta put that work on man, don't get up, don't get pessimistic, don't get too down on yourself, you might be working a bullshit job that you hate, but you gotta remember this life, this is a long time game.
[5:04] \[SPEAKER_00\]: This is everything.
[5:06] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Nothing happened overnight.
[5:07] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Don't let the internet and social media fool you.
[5:09] \[SPEAKER_00\]: This shit don't happen overnight.
[5:10] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You really got a grime.
[5:12] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm talking about, I'm talking about every day you got a grime, man.
[5:17] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And the time going flat, I tell people this all the time.
[5:19] \[SPEAKER_00\]: The time is going to fly by anyway.
[5:22] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like I said.
[5:24] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It feels like yesterday while I was in that hot ass truck in the middle east working twelve thirteen sometimes fourteen hour days that it literally feels like yesterday like the time fly by so fast as unbelievable to me that that was that that was six seven eight years ago that's like unbelievable to me when I really think about it because it's been like that was three four months ago for him so my point is putting that word now I'm telling you all the things do get greater later like
[5:52] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm I'm I'm thirty two like I keep like I keep saying and my life like I would say this I would be lying to y'all if I said
[6:01] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Oh man, I never thought I would be in this position.
[6:03] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm in that.
[6:04] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That would be that would be a lot because I did I always knew and I'm not saying it's Eric and Lee and nothing like that, but just confidently I knew who I was I knew my capabilities I knew my hustle I knew my mind says so I always knew I would be at this point night I met right now and I will and just how I'm thirty two now I know by the time I'm thirty six and forty I'm gonna be living five ten times better than I'm living right now and right now I'm there pretty damn good like I say I'm not saying that Eric and Lee
[6:32] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But I just want to illustrate to y'all, man.
[6:35] \[SPEAKER_00\]: If you y'all, you listen to this.
[6:37] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Okay.
[6:37] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Have you twenty five?
[6:38] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Okay.
[6:39] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Have you twenty nine?
[6:40] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Okay.
[6:40] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Have you nineteen?
[6:42] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Think about what I'm saying, and every day you put that down working, and don't let nothing stop you, don't let the BS stop you from friends, relationships, yo, yo, the presses, my mistakes, you might be going through that time.
[6:55] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Don't let none of that shit stop you.
[6:57] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Keep your head down, keep working, because this life is nothing from what evs a flows.
[7:02] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's never gonna be consistently good, but at that same time, it's never gonna be consistently bad either.
[7:07] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So you stay even kill.
[7:08] \[SPEAKER_00\]: When you have in the highs of highs,
[7:11] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You embrace it, you enjoy it, you be thankful and grateful for it, you thank God for it, but you keep on moving.
[7:17] \[SPEAKER_00\]: The next day you wake up, you're like, none of that shit happened, you keep moving.
[7:20] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And when you had a worst day you ever had those days where you really like my offer, like giving up, I can't do this no more.
[7:26] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I've been a crash out.
[7:28] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You don't crash out.
[7:30] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You stay even kill comp.
[7:32] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You go to sleep.
[7:33] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You wake up the next morning.
[7:34] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You forget all that shit and move on to another day.
[7:37] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And that's the mindset you got to have in order to win, just to be real job.
[7:41] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You can't adopt that mindset.
[7:42] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You can't operate in that space.
[7:45] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's going to be very hard for you to win because this shit is not easy, man.
[7:49] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Especially when you don't come from a wealthy family.
[7:51] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I don't come from a wealthy family.
[7:52] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You had to start from zero to build myself up.
[7:54] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And this shit was not easy.
[7:55] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Every single emotion you can think of
[7:58] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I've been through it.
[7:59] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm talking all of them out on the journey even still to this day every emotion you can think of it will you will fill it
[8:08] \[SPEAKER_00\]: that you don't have emotions.
[8:09] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So you feel like you're the greatest thing you're doing and you're killing.
[8:13] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Then you go out those emotions where you feel like you're behind those emotions where you feel like you're failing.
[8:17] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You ain't shit.
[8:18] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You messin' up all these things in your mind and all these emotions they're gonna come.
[8:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But you gotta remember that you bigger than your thoughts.
[8:25] \[SPEAKER_00\]: The most of the thoughts that you haven't, the shit ain't real.
[8:28] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's a trick.
[8:29] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's gonna trick you.
[8:30] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So keep man, I ain't gonna go too long cause I wanna get into this episode.
[8:35] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I really wanna tell y'all this man
[8:38] \[SPEAKER_00\]: life, when you do what you supposed to do, life is so good.
[8:42] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like, I thank God every day.
[8:43] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like, first of all, I should have started with that.
[8:46] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Making it to see thirty two.
[8:47] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I got to thank my Lord and say, with Jesus Christ, because without him, I wouldn't even be here.
[8:51] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I wouldn't be nowhere in this position.
[8:52] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I would be nothing without him.
[8:54] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So having that mindset and
[8:56] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That's that's what keep me going and like so I had to say that so I do but I'm again starting to this episode like I said I only going to super long attention because as a user this episode wasn't about me.
[9:09] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's about this money mistakes and secrets this story I'm going to share with y'all but before I start the story the story I just wanted to touch on these things because I know it's a lot of younger people that listen to my show and I know
[9:22] \[SPEAKER_00\]: They relate and feel what I'm talking about because they experienced these things what they feel like I will never get to these points because I have so many setbacks.
[9:30] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I might have had kids.
[9:30] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I might have dropped out of school.
[9:32] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I might not go have my degree.
[9:34] \[SPEAKER_00\]: All this, all this shit you tell yourself in your mind and forgive me because I'm just extremely passionate about this because I know firsthand how this goes.
[9:42] \[SPEAKER_00\]: All those things tell yourself in your mind
[9:44] \[SPEAKER_00\]: gotta remember that you can't do it, you can't overcome everything.
[9:48] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So just stay locked in man, stay prayed up, stay locked in, keep working, keep grinding, cause things get greater later.
[9:54] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But let's get right to the story.
[9:55] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And as you all know, I'm going to switch to names just for just so I'm not putting too much, I want to obviously put the real names out there.
[10:06] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So I'm going to change the names for the story, say, and let's get right to it.
[10:10] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So
[10:11] \[SPEAKER_00\]: This is the email I got and it says, my name is CJ.
[10:15] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm twenty three years old.
[10:16] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm active duty.
[10:17] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm an active duty army specialist.
[10:20] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I recently got back from my first deployment and I lost nearly every dollar I saved.
[10:25] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But I was deployed.
[10:26] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I didn't have rent bills or much money to spend between my base paid deployment allowances and a real investment bonus.
[10:34] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I saw while that arranged.
[10:36] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I saved up a little over forty five thousand dollars then salute to you.
[10:41] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That money was supposed to be the foundation for my future, building the business, maybe a house.
[10:46] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I met Audrey after I joined the army.
[10:50] \[SPEAKER_00\]: He wasn't in my unit where he worked around the base as a contract and always talked like he had one foot in business and one foot, one foot in the military world.
[10:58] \[SPEAKER_00\]: He was sharp confident and always seemed to know the right people.
[11:03] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Over time we got close and he became like a brother, he became like a brother to me.
[11:08] \[SPEAKER_00\]: When I came home from my deployment,
[11:10] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Audrey gave me a pitch.
[11:11] \[SPEAKER_00\]: He said, bro, I got an idea.
[11:13] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You got some capital.
[11:14] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I got the experience.
[11:15] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We just started trucking company.
[11:17] \[SPEAKER_00\]: The government always handled it and all the just the contracts and I can get us in the door.
[11:22] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I didn't know much about trucking, but my girlfriend at the time encouraged me to encourage me to take the shop.
[11:27] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Audrey promised it was a certain and I wanted to believe him.
[11:31] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So I invested forty thousand dollars.
[11:34] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Remember he said he saved a little over forty five thousand.
[11:38] \[SPEAKER_00\]: At first, Audrey fed me updates, pictures of trucks, emails about contracts, paperwork that look official.
[11:44] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Every question I asked he had to answer, that approval takes time, loads of delays, maintenance costs, excuse after the excuse, but I still trust him.
[11:53] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Meanwhile, my girlfriend started acting different.
[11:56] \[SPEAKER_00\]: She was distant.
[11:57] \[SPEAKER_00\]: She was more secretive about her phone, but I ignored it.
[12:00] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I just figured it was stressful.
[12:01] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We were just missing.
[12:02] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I just came back from a year overseas.
[12:05] \[SPEAKER_00\]: One night, she asked me to grab something off her phone.
[12:08] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It was totally innocent.
[12:09] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I wasn't stupid.
[12:10] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But when I unlocked it, I saw her.
[12:13] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I saw her messages.
[12:15] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Oh shit.
[12:15] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I saw her messages in three and after three attacks between her and Audrey.
[12:21] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Not just business talk, sexually explicit messages, pictures, conversations going back months, even while I was deployed.
[12:29] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'll just sat there scrolling in this belief.
[12:32] \[SPEAKER_00\]: The same guy was going to be as we entrusted with my savings with I'm a sense of this where this was kids watching was having sex with my girl and it had been happening behind my back the whole time I was overseas.
[12:48] \[SPEAKER_00\]: the business wasn't making no money and the money my money was gone and I tried to get my money back lawyers complaints everything but because I didn't have a contract and technically invested the money it wasn't fraud it was just a bad investment it was nothing to recover and one year I lost forty five thousand dollars my girl and someone who I considered a brother
[13:12] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I learned firsthand what you speak on often.
[13:15] \[SPEAKER_00\]: If it's not on paper, it's not real.
[13:17] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Contracts are the only protection we're money above.
[13:21] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm still serving.
[13:22] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm rebounding about it.
[13:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I would never trust anyone when it comes to money or relationships again.
[13:26] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Everybody got a paper.
[13:28] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And I'm assuming he's talking about that part because he put the LOL at the end.
[13:32] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And that's the end.
[13:33] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And that is damn.
[13:36] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Anybody in the military?
[13:39] \[SPEAKER_00\]: got any familiarity with the military, got family in the military, they know these things are.
[13:44] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Some people might hear this and I'd like this sounds extremely crazy.
[13:48] \[SPEAKER_00\]: This is very common when you're in the military.
[13:51] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Stories like this are not uncommon, man.
[13:53] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Military people go through some crazy.
[13:56] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Craig, man, y'all, man.
[13:59] \[SPEAKER_00\]: If you don't know nothing about the military, you don't know the hat.
[14:01] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Let's say people go to some crazy stuff.
[14:02] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But this is a very powerful story.
[14:05] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And I got five, five takeaways from this story.
[14:08] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So I'm beginning to the first one.
[14:10] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So the first takeaway is that
[14:12] \[SPEAKER_00\]: The employment money, bonus money, tax money.
[14:18] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like I said, you work at corporate, you get those into your bonuses.
[14:21] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Whatever those things is, that money is powerful.
[14:25] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But at the same time, it's vulnerable.
[14:27] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So people like, like, when you win those positions, when you get that extra money, what like I said, what is bonus tax, the employment money.
[14:35] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That can be a large, you know, that's a large lump sum of money at one time.
[14:39] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And that can make you a prime target for a quote on quote, opportunities from friends, as you see in this story, contractors, and sometimes it's even family.
[14:48] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So you got to protect that money because that money is just not like some free money or some money that came out of the sky.
[14:55] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You got to treat that money just like it's just like it's the money that you worked for.
[15:01] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like you have to, you can't look.
[15:02] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And that's why a lot of people go wrong when they get these bonuses because they don't see it that way.
[15:06] \[SPEAKER_00\]: They see it as like, this is some free money that came out of the sky.
[15:10] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So they a lot more risky with it.
[15:12] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And when you risky like that as we see and as you know, you way more vulnerable.
[15:19] \[SPEAKER_00\]: and protecting that money is, you got to remember, it's just as important as earning it.
[15:24] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You got to protect it because sometimes when you get these things, everybody knows.
[15:29] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So many times, so many of us run our mouths and we tell everybody, we might got the bonus for ten thousand, fifteen thousand.
[15:36] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And we call in everybody in the family.
[15:37] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, I just got a bonus, but take care.
[15:39] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, I'll just save my first thing.
[15:41] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We tell everybody and you don't know everybody in financial situation.
[15:44] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You got some people that that's down bad and they need to come up.
[15:47] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And they hear you now you to come up.
[15:49] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know what I mean?
[15:50] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So you have to
[15:52] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That money you get and what is the employment money?
[15:54] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Bonus money.
[15:55] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You have to you have to protect it and don't be so quick to run your mouth and tell everybody.
[16:00] \[SPEAKER_00\]: One of the best things you can do when I say this all the time.
[16:03] \[SPEAKER_00\]: One of the best things you can ever do when you come across a money once you accumulate money.
[16:08] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's just to shut the hell up.
[16:10] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like you don't you don't need to tell everybody.
[16:13] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Everybody don't need to know what you got going on.
[16:15] \[SPEAKER_00\]: How much you got?
[16:16] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like that it don't make no sense.
[16:17] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Just keep it to yourself.
[16:19] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So we don't get into the second one.
[16:22] \[SPEAKER_00\]: The second lesson in this, and that is, don't let urgency rush your adjustment.
[16:27] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Now, if you see from this story, Derek, he came back from his deployment eager to make his money work.
[16:32] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And I know the feeling of that, that's a real thing.
[16:34] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But that urgency, it, it, it obliterate, it obliterate your critical thinking, because you so thirsty.
[16:40] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm going to invest when I'm winning the game.
[16:42] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm going to get in the game.
[16:43] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm going to get in the mistakes.
[16:44] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm going to start real estate.
[16:46] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm going to start buying stocks.
[16:48] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I want to buy trucking business.
[16:49] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And then social media don't make it any better.
[16:51] \[SPEAKER_00\]: As we know, you see all these people doing a million different things.
[16:54] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So you're like, man, I need to hurry up and get to it.
[16:57] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So now in your mind, you feel like you're playing catch up.
[17:00] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But the reality is once you got money saved for your fifty, sixty, hundred thousand dollars, the reality is you're doing way better.
[17:08] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Nine times out of ten, you're doing better than the people who you give in your money to.
[17:12] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And you don't even know it.
[17:13] \[SPEAKER_00\]: They're propping themselves up to make themselves look special, look like they got things going on.
[17:18] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But they don't even got the money that you got.
[17:20] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And you don't want that feel like you buy on.
[17:22] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So you're always got it.
[17:24] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You cannot at the end of the day, you can't be no follower.
[17:27] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You gotta have a mind of your own.
[17:28] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You gotta have your own ambitions.
[17:29] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You gotta move on your own to the on your own.
[17:33] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Be don't don't be competing with nobody.
[17:36] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Don't feel like you behind nobody because we all
[17:39] \[SPEAKER_00\]: on our own journey and you got to understand the concept that big money, like large money moves, they need patience.
[17:49] \[SPEAKER_00\]: They don't need to be rushed because it's large money, especially when there's majority of your savings, majority of your network.
[17:56] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That's not something that you just do on a whim or something that you just like you move off of emotions and do like that excitement will make you have blind spots which is why it's important like I always talk about this is why it's important to stay even killed don't get too high don't get too low because when you too excited you will you are overlooked things you are overlooked where it flags just because of the excitement when you buy the home which is why
[18:21] \[SPEAKER_00\]: which is why when you buy in the home, right?
[18:24] \[SPEAKER_00\]: They tell you, don't get too excited in front of a realtor.
[18:28] \[SPEAKER_00\]: because now you're gonna be overlooking all these things.
[18:30] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You might overlook the roof and you might not get the inspection done.
[18:34] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's a lot of the things that can happen when you get to it's side of when it comes to money.
[18:37] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So you always just wanna stay calm.
[18:39] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But I'm gonna move on to lesson number three.
[18:41] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So lesson number three in this is that emotional security does not equal financial security.
[18:48] \[SPEAKER_00\]: As you see from this story, Derek keeps out safe because his girlfriend and his friend at the time supported the plan.
[18:57] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But just because you have emotional closeness, they don't give you a, that's not a sense of financial security.
[19:04] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And that gave him a false sense of financial security.
[19:08] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like you can't, you can't mix the two like, just because you feel good and emotionally.
[19:13] \[SPEAKER_00\]: and make you make you feel like you're doing something.
[19:16] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That don't mean that it's a good business plan.
[19:19] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So, never confuse a emotional validation or financial due diligence.
[19:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Just be, I'm gonna say it again.
[19:25] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Just in case you don't, you didn't hear me.
[19:27] \[SPEAKER_00\]: This is the case you didn't understand me.
[19:29] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Just because you feel validated emotionally.
[19:31] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Just because you feel good.
[19:32] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's because even if people gas in you up, like, get us a good plan.
[19:36] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That don't mean it's a good idea.
[19:38] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You have to do your due diligence.
[19:41] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But part of this goes into the next one or the last one.
[19:45] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So I'm going to say what I'm going to say for later.
[19:47] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So the fourth lesson in this is, and I kind of already are already kind of spoken on this.
[19:55] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So my bad, I'm going to go to the next one.
[19:58] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So the next one is not every business opportunity is meant for you.
[20:04] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Man, I could say that a million times over, not every business opportunity is meant for you as you see from this story.
[20:11] \[SPEAKER_00\]: His friend Fram trucking as an easy win.
[20:15] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But you, at the same time, Derek, he had no knowledge.
[20:19] \[SPEAKER_00\]: He didn't have no knowledge, no passion and no oversight in that industry.
[20:22] \[SPEAKER_00\]: He's in the military.
[20:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I could do the end of military.
[20:25] \[SPEAKER_00\]: He was on deployment for a year.
[20:27] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So you didn't have any
[20:29] \[SPEAKER_00\]: any knowledge or you didn't really even have probably any any time to get the knowledge or become passionate or have the connects or resources and network to be in this industry.
[20:40] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So the lesson in that is if you don't understand it and this is something that I learned myself.
[20:46] \[SPEAKER_00\]: If you don't understand it, you don't invest in it.
[20:50] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's as simple as that.
[20:51] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I don't care how good it sounds.
[20:52] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I don't care how much people and guests you work.
[20:55] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I don't care about the presentation somebody gave you.
[20:57] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That gave you an energy PowerPoint and everything sounds on point.
[21:02] \[SPEAKER_00\]: If you do not understand that, you never give somebody a money.
[21:07] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Because even like, and I'm gonna tell you why.
[21:10] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Because if it goes wrong, right?
[21:13] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Nothing will pit, I'm gonna tell y'all some real shit right now.
[21:16] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I've been through this myself.
[21:17] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Nothing will piss you off more than because it's not just money.
[21:21] \[SPEAKER_00\]: There's not losing money that's pissing you off.
[21:24] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Loot is losing money and you don't understand how you lost the money.
[21:28] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That's what pisses you off.
[21:30] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Because everybody can take it.
[21:31] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You can meet personally.
[21:32] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I can take it out when I know how I take it out.
[21:34] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I know exactly what happened, what we're wrong.
[21:36] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm gonna be mad, but I'm gonna take it better because I'm like, I know what happened.
[21:41] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But once you take it out,
[21:43] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And your money just go on and you don't even know why or what the hell happened, that's going to kill you.
[21:49] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But that's why you don't invest in something that you don't understand because if it goes wrong, you're not even going to understand it.
[21:55] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So you're not even going to have the capability to understand where did it go wrong?
[22:00] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like, even if somebody break it down until you, like, this is, by my body, this is what happened.
[22:04] \[SPEAKER_00\]: This how the money was lost.
[22:05] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You're not going to understand it because you don't understand the industry.
[22:08] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And when you hear that, it's really, it's going to piss you off because you're not going to know, when you don't understand the industry, you don't understand what we're wrong.
[22:15] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You don't know if this person being is being honest with you, telling you what happened or you don't know if they're scamming.
[22:21] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Because either way, you honestly wouldn't know.
[22:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So this is what I,
[22:26] \[SPEAKER_00\]: This is why you don't invest in things that you don't understand.
[22:30] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You stick to what you know or you take the time to learn it first.
[22:35] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You take three months, six months a year.
[22:37] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Have a longer take you to feel fully confident in a true confidence.
[22:41] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Not like a fake confidence where you just can't do some shit or you watch the YouTube video for an hour and you feel like you know everything about it.
[22:52] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm talking about a real due diligence, a real learning of this thing in this space.
[22:58] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You do that first before you give your money in it, because that's going to make you feel confident.
[23:02] \[SPEAKER_00\]: If things go over wrong, you have to understand it.
[23:06] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But never be too thirsty.
[23:07] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Do never invest into things that you don't know.
[23:11] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You don't understand.
[23:12] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like I said, I don't care what they're telling you.
[23:13] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Okay, they show you a season.
[23:15] \[SPEAKER_00\]: They earn in ten thousand dollars by weekly.
[23:18] \[SPEAKER_00\]: They earn in ten thousand dollars a week.
[23:20] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And they just
[23:21] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You they get your money.
[23:22] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You gonna do the same.
[23:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I don't care what they're telling you what you're hearing.
[23:26] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You never do it.
[23:27] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Some things it's some things just not meant for everybody.
[23:32] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like I said, every business opportunity meant for you.
[23:34] \[SPEAKER_00\]: If you're not willing
[23:36] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Because as a business owner, as an entrepreneur, you got to be willing to miss out on things, even if it's a good deal.
[23:42] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Because your piece of mind, you came by then.
[23:45] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And when you don't understand something, you're giving these large persons a money, you lose a sense of your piece of mind because not you're always worrying about what happened because you're not in control.
[23:54] \[SPEAKER_00\]: and then you don't have to control and you don't understand it.
[23:57] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So you just, that's something that you just, you gotta stay away from y'all.
[24:01] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I don't know, I don't know who needed it.
[24:03] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But I'm telling you something that a lot better through myself years ago.
[24:07] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So I went through it.
[24:09] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So if you listen to it,
[24:11] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You listen to this, you ain't got to go through it yourself.
[24:14] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Because now what me saying is you listen to the show, you really have no excuse.
[24:18] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So something happens to you, where it might be this story like Derek or something different.
[24:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And it happens to you, you're going to be thinking like that.
[24:28] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I heard that on the podcast, say that, and I still did it.
[24:31] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So don't I had nobody really break set set me down and tell me this before I took a ale like this nobody really told me like you know it was like if you've got the money it's a good opportunity you can figure it out later type of thing but I'm telling y'all first and if you don't know what the hell going on you don't know
[24:50] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You can't break down what this industry is, how it works.
[24:53] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You don't need to know every single detail, but you need to have a general understanding and knowledge, you need to know terminology, all those things.
[25:00] \[SPEAKER_00\]: If you don't know those things, just stay away from, do not do it.
[25:04] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Because more than likely, now it's lives, house on a tin is going to end bad anyway.
[25:09] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And lastly, in this, and I almost forgot.
[25:13] \[SPEAKER_00\]: The last thing in this is, and this is in regards to his relationship, and this applies to anyone like I said, because this, this is a common thing in the military military couples for whatever reason, always going through stuff like this, which is why I be telling people like, man, I'ma be honest.
[25:30] \[SPEAKER_00\]: If you got a girl or something, your girl, the playing, or something like that, you might as well,
[25:36] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm first of all, let me stop.
[25:38] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's essential to the rule.
[25:40] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I may, I'm generalizing for a moment.
[25:43] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But me being a man that's been on the deployment, I know what happens on deployments.
[25:50] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And ain't pretty.
[25:51] \[SPEAKER_00\]: If you got a girl, man, I hope nobody listens to this with a girl on deployment right now, because now my hearts are filled with breaks and hearts, man.
[25:58] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But if you got a girl on the deployment, man, it get treasures on the deployments.
[26:04] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm talking about.
[26:05] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It get bad.
[26:07] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's probably not even a good idea to be a young person in the service and you have a girl in the service and she deploying.
[26:16] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Because you guys think these deployments stay anywhere between three months to a year.
[26:21] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Sometimes they long.
[26:22] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So if you go somewhere, you six out of months.
[26:24] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Humans are humans.
[26:25] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You'll make it.
[26:25] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'll say in the first thing.
[26:27] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I've been on the deployment when you get there.
[26:30] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Everybody all happy.
[26:31] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like, I'm in a relationship.
[26:32] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm just here to
[26:33] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Do good, do the right thing.
[26:34] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I ain't trying to mess with nobody.
[26:36] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I ain't trying to get in no trouble.
[26:38] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm loyal to my man.
[26:39] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm loyal to my girl.
[26:41] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That's what people say when they get when they first get to the point because I've seen his first hand.
[26:45] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I ain't talking about none of her.
[26:46] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I ain't talking about no theory.
[26:49] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That's the first week they did.
[26:51] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You see the same people two months, three months later.
[26:55] \[SPEAKER_00\]: They took his or somebody around.
[26:57] \[SPEAKER_00\]: He'd be like, what the?
[26:58] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You got to act like you ain't.
[27:00] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You've got to act like you ain't see it.
[27:02] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You got to be like, ain't that so or so?
[27:04] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And just keep it moving.
[27:05] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like, it really deployments get wild.
[27:07] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's like a wild, wild west little rules because you on the other side of the world.
[27:11] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So when people mind, they think these things are never going to get back to my home.
[27:17] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's not going to get back to my home city.
[27:19] \[SPEAKER_00\]: My wife never going to find out about it.
[27:21] \[SPEAKER_00\]: My husband, I can find out about it.
[27:24] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But it, man, deployments are very, very wild.
[27:27] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's treacherous.
[27:28] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I feel bad for people.
[27:30] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I genuinely feel bad for the food dudes.
[27:32] \[SPEAKER_00\]: They got a girl.
[27:33] \[SPEAKER_00\]: They got a wife.
[27:34] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That's getting deployed overseas somewhere and they gone for six, seven months.
[27:38] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I genuinely feel bad for y'all because it is not all I can say is this.
[27:44] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's bad.
[27:46] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's, it get bad.
[27:47] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And I'm gonna leave that thing because all like I said, I really don't want nobody in the service listen to this.
[27:52] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And then they get some crazy thoughts in their head and they trust another.
[27:57] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I really don't want this to happen.
[27:58] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So I'm gonna leave that alone.
[27:59] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But I'm gonna make this episode too long because like I said today my birthday is all gonna tell.
[28:05] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm feeling good today.
[28:06] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm just happy and blessed to be alive.
[28:08] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm about to go to the golf course, play me some golf.
[28:10] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know, chill my family, eat me some food.
[28:14] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Talk to some family friends and just enjoy enjoying the fruits of my labor just take a take a day off to just relax.
[28:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I just want to make this episode really quickly because this was when I when I seen this story and I didn't even go through the whole thing when I first got the email I just read the first part and I'm like, oh yeah, this is good one right here.
[28:34] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Let me let me let me touch on this one because I already know
[28:37] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm familiar with the military life.
[28:39] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I know exactly how it goes, but at the same time, this is a good story where it's a lot of lessons in this too.
[28:44] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So, don't let these things go over y'all.
[28:46] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Hey, pay attention y'all, stay focused, keep y'all here down, keep working.
[28:52] \[SPEAKER_00\]: This we got, what month is this?

[28:58] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Get ready for twenty, twenty, six.
[28:59] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's going to be, which is going to be another amazing year, but I'm not going to get too long with it.
[29:03] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So, I'm a wrap up before I wrap up y'all.
