## Transcript

[0:00] Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen, Drew McIntyre.
[0:02] Speaker 2: Officially tag team partners. We're a thing now.
[0:04] Speaker 3: Why would you pick on Jelly Roll?
[0:05] Speaker 4: I'm a little bit sick of the outsiders, Mike, is
[0:07] Speaker 4: the answer. And so like we heard Jelly Roll was
[0:09] Speaker 4: hosting Jimmy Kimmel. Still bored at work, went crazy.
[0:13] Speaker 2: Nobody knew I was going to do it, and I
[0:14] Speaker 2: didn't know if it was going to happen. We did
[0:15] Speaker 2: it right there on the fly. They exploded. I mean,
[0:17] Speaker 2: I guess engagement perspective, the most powerful in the company,
[0:20] Speaker 2: aside Rhea Ripley's. What the hell, bro?
[0:23] Speaker 4: These Samoans are multiplying like bunny rabbits.
[0:25] Speaker 1: And, bro, I love Samoans.
[0:26] Speaker 2: I love them. I love the rock. I love him.
[0:28] Speaker 2: But the rest of the family can go f * * * themselves.
[0:30] Speaker 1: Do you think Seth's injury is a work or a shoot?
[0:32] Speaker 2: 85% of our guys don't look like they should be
[0:35] Speaker 2: in WWE. They look like they should be serving me
[0:37] Speaker 2: my fast food. Jesus, guys, get in the f * * *
[0:38] Speaker 2: ing gym. And I was so angry. I went to
[0:41] Speaker 2: the boss's office, cut this big promo, big passionate speech
[0:44] Speaker 2: that I was so proud of. Damn, you cut a
[0:45] Speaker 2: promo on the boss. I did, and he didn't understand
[0:47] Speaker 2: one word of it. I was always led to believe
[0:50] Speaker 2: this is your family. These are your brothers and sisters.
[0:52] Speaker 2: And I believed that crap my entire career, right up
[0:54] Speaker 2: until CM Punk drew McIntyre hell in the cell. And
[0:56] Speaker 2: then he bled to death, disappeared for three months nearly.
[0:59] Speaker 2: How many people called me? One.
[1:11] Speaker 1: Hey, can I tell you something before the show starts?
[1:14] Speaker 3: Are we rolling? Dude, I have major drama with Detroit
[1:17] Speaker 3: right now.
[1:18] Speaker 1: Detroit the city?
[1:20] Speaker 3: I know that. I made a terrible mistake.
[1:22] Speaker 5: These two dwarves somewhere in Europe asked me about what
[1:26] Speaker 5: the dirtiest American city was.
[1:28] Speaker 3: I panicked, bro. The first thing that came to mind
[1:30] Speaker 3: was Detroit.
[1:31] Speaker 5: That's what came to my mind. Then this Detroit rag
[1:34] Speaker 5: page posted. Now I've been getting death threats from Eminem
[1:37] Speaker 5: and the likes.
[1:41] Speaker 1: Here's the thing about people from Detroit, they're not going
[1:44] Speaker 1: to make it out of Detroit. So just don't go,
[1:46] Speaker 1: don't go. And you'll be fine.
[1:47] Speaker 2: You got to say, no, no, no, no.
[1:49] Speaker 3: Now you crossed the line.
[1:50] Speaker 2: Why?
[1:50] Speaker 3: Because that's not true. I know many business.
[1:53] Speaker 2: Besides Eminem.
[1:54] Speaker 3: Our sound guys from Detroit.
[1:55] Speaker 2: No, you're not.
[1:56] Speaker 3: Yes, he is. No. Yes, he is.
[1:58] Speaker 5: You fucking dumb ass, bro. Now you made my problem
[2:01] Speaker 5: even worse, dude.
[2:02] Speaker 2: Okay.
[2:03] Speaker 3: Damn.
[2:04] Speaker 2: I stay corrected. Hey, Detroit is fucking.
[2:06] Speaker 5: Yo, how crazy is it that you got hit with
[2:08] Speaker 5: karma in the second?
[2:09] Speaker 3: I know. I know. There he is. There he frigging is, dude.
[2:15] Speaker 5: Hey, I was out in Europe, but your bodyguard was
[2:22] Speaker 5: doing work for another creator.
[2:24] Speaker 2: Yeah, he asked me for permission, and I said yes.
[2:26] Speaker 3: Straight to the highest bidder.
[2:28] Speaker 5: You'll be lucky if you ever see him again if
[2:29] Speaker 5: he keeps getting those Aiden Ross paychecks, I'll tell you
[2:31] Speaker 5: that much, because you ain't got it like.
[2:32] Speaker 2: That, buddy. Aiden came on our show and said he
[2:36] Speaker 2: was broke.
[2:36] Speaker 3: He did, and now I think he is, because he
[2:39] Speaker 3: spent all his money on that damn house.
[2:40] Speaker 1: And security guards.
[2:43] Speaker 3: Crazy house.
[2:44] Speaker 2: Crazy, bro. That's insane. Aiden came on our show and said, guys,
[2:47] Speaker 2: I'm broke.
[2:48] Speaker 1: And then I see him buying a $ 30 million house.
[2:50] Speaker 5: And he also, you know, he also told me, I said,
[2:53] Speaker 5: Hey man, I don't really like the idea of you
[2:54] Speaker 5: buying that house. Just cause I don't think you need
[2:56] Speaker 5: a $ 30 million house. And he said, when you can
[2:59] Speaker 5: buy a $ 30 million house, you can tell me not
[3:01] Speaker 5: to buy a $ 30 million house.
[3:02] Speaker 2: And I was like, wait a sec. What?
[3:04] Speaker 3: So that's the only qualifying.
[3:05] Speaker 2: Yeah, it is.
[3:07] Speaker 4: I could see how a young person would say that. Yeah,
[3:10] Speaker 4: would not take your advice because you're broke.
[3:12] Speaker 3: That's a good point. But my outfit's better today than normal.
[3:16] Speaker 3: The olive green.
[3:17] Speaker 1: You're also not broke because we got that new Fanatics
[3:20] Speaker 1: in WWE deal.
[3:20] Speaker 3: Yo, shout out to.
[3:21] Speaker 5: Fanatics in WWE. What a trio to be involved with.
[3:25] Speaker 3: Oh, wait, wait, wait. All right. Speaking of WWE.
[3:28] Speaker 2: Ladies and gentlemen, it's Drew McIntyre. Yeah. Yeah. Dude, let's go.
[3:38] Speaker 3: You like country music?
[3:40] Speaker 2: I do now. I moved to America in 2007 to Louisville, Kentucky.
[3:46] Speaker 3: Is that where you live?
[3:48] Speaker 2: No, no, I'm in Nashville now, four years. 13 years
[3:51] Speaker 2: in Florida and a year in Louisville. But when I
[3:53] Speaker 2: first came from Scotland, I literally finished university. I'd already
[3:57] Speaker 2: been signed to WWE. Landed in Louisville, Kentucky. And I
[4:01] Speaker 2: remember some of the boys driving me around playing country music.
[4:03] Speaker 2: And I was like, God, this sucks. They're just whining
[4:05] Speaker 2: and complaining. about everything in life. I just don't get this.
[4:09] Speaker 2: Then fast forward 10 years, I went through some stuff,
[4:11] Speaker 2: some ups, some downs. I heard country music again. I went,
[4:14] Speaker 2: I get this. You have to live life a little
[4:17] Speaker 2: bit to understand country music.
[4:18] Speaker 3: Have your truck break down a few times.
[4:20] Speaker 2: Yes, yes.
[4:20] Speaker 4: But they also, in country music, they appreciate the simple things,
[4:23] Speaker 4: like a good pair of denim jeans.
[4:25] Speaker 2: They do, but especially these modern singers with their stadium
[4:27] Speaker 2: anthems talking about their stupid jeans and their trucks, whatever.
[4:30] Speaker 2: Give me some like Hank Jr. or Waylon Jennings of
[4:32] Speaker 2: the Outlaw Country. Now we're talking. Some classic stuff.
[4:35] Speaker 3: Johnny Cash.
[4:36] Speaker 2: Johnny Cash. So, dude, Drew McIntyre, bro. Thanks for joining us, man.
[4:40] Speaker 2: Thank you for having me. It's an honor and a pleasure, even.
[4:42] Speaker 1: More so because I guess we're officially tag team partners.
[4:47] Speaker 2: We're a thing now. Yeah.
[4:48] Speaker 3: We need a name. We're an item.
[4:49] Speaker 2: We're a catchy name.
[4:49] Speaker 1: We do need a catchy item.
[4:51] Speaker 3: Have you guys thought through a name at all?
[4:53] Speaker 2: No, we're just discussing for the first time.
[4:55] Speaker 3: Any options?
[4:56] Speaker 2: I mean, the obvious things are like the Maverick Warriors.
[4:58] Speaker 2: And then you've got the symbol with the M.
[5:00] Speaker 3: Well, I don't like that at all. No, no, no.
[5:02] Speaker 2: It's too easy. What I like is something like rage
[5:04] Speaker 2: bait because of all the crap we put online and
[5:06] Speaker 2: just drive everybody crazy. The guys who's... Wait, rage bait?
[5:10] Speaker 2: The rage baiters?
[5:11] Speaker 3: I kind of like that.
[5:12] Speaker 1: Or the masturbators.
[5:13] Speaker 3: Oh!
[5:14] Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I mean, we could have some fun with it.
[5:17] Speaker 2: It drives Triple H crazy. Every time I make all
[5:20] Speaker 2: the sexual innuendos, he's waiting for me backstage, and I'm like, Hunter,
[5:23] Speaker 2: you told a whole generation, including me, to tell our.
[5:25] Speaker 3: Teachers to suck it.
[5:26] Speaker 2: Can you get me in trouble?
[5:27] Speaker 1: Dude, it's so crazy. The hypocrisy is sometimes inappropriate.
[5:34] Speaker 4: They got to have so much fun back in the
[5:36] Speaker 4: Attitude Era.
[5:37] Speaker 1: Really got to do whatever they wanted.
[5:38] Speaker 2: Yeah, it was much easier back in that day. You're like,
[5:41] Speaker 2: just swear, do whatever you want. You're going to be
[5:43] Speaker 2: clever and stuff now.
[5:44] Speaker 1: I see a video of him telling a girl that
[5:47] Speaker 1: Flash them. I'm like, dude, if we did that today,
[5:51] Speaker 1: we'd be fired.
[5:52] Speaker 2: Possibly canceled. Is this going to get me canceled?
[6:00] Speaker 5: Is canceled still happening as much as it was five,
[6:04] Speaker 5: six years ago? I feel like canceled isn't really a thing.
[6:06] Speaker 3: Anymore, is it?
[6:07] Speaker 4: It's a bit harder because people now realize you can
[6:10] Speaker 4: survive cancellations. And it also depends what the crime is.
[6:13] Speaker 4: What is the thing, you know? There's some that are
[6:15] Speaker 4: tough to come back from. Like Kevin Spacey's still wrestling
[6:17] Speaker 4: with his cancellation, and he's trying to come back by
[6:20] Speaker 4: saying release Epstein files.
[6:21] Speaker 2: That's neither here nor there.
[6:23] Speaker 3: I don't even know Kevin Spacey wrestled.
[6:25] Speaker 2: No, he was an actor. He was in House of Cards.
[6:28] Speaker 3: Oh, because you said he was still wrestling, so I
[6:30] Speaker 3: didn't know.
[6:30] Speaker 2: Oh, did I say that?
[6:31] Speaker 5: Yeah, because it's a WWE show, and I didn't.
[6:33] Speaker 3: Know if you were going to introduce another tag team. Oh,
[6:34] Speaker 3: Kevin Spacey.
[6:35] Speaker 2: Yeah, he is a wrestler now. He just signed. He's
[6:37] Speaker 2: the next guest, actually.
[6:39] Speaker 3: Hey, can I ask you guys a question?
[6:41] Speaker 5: Why would you pick on Jelly Roll?
[6:45] Speaker 2: I didn't pick on Jelly Roll.
[6:47] Speaker 3: Why would you pick on Jelly Roll?
[6:49] Speaker 2: Can Jelly Roll get involved in your business to start
[6:51] Speaker 2: this thing?
[6:52] Speaker 1: That's my issue with it. Like we're in a country
[6:54] Speaker 1: bar right now.
[6:56] Speaker 4: If Jelly Roll walked in the room, well, minus when
[6:59] Speaker 4: he tried to take over what we do, we, if
[7:02] Speaker 4: he walked in this country bar a month ago, I'd say, dude,
[7:05] Speaker 4: like Jelly, good to see you. Hop on the stage,
[7:09] Speaker 4: play the drums or sing whatever it is that you do.
[7:11] Speaker 1: And like, we'll all clap for you like a monkey.
[7:13] Speaker 2: Like we'll watch you. His music's good. That's what he does.
[7:16] Speaker 2: It's good music. It's what he does.
[7:18] Speaker 4: And then all of a sudden I see him supposedly
[7:21] Speaker 4: training supposedly jelly rolls been training rumor the rumor yeah.
[7:26] Speaker 2: I've not got any you know feedback positive or even
[7:29] Speaker 2: negative but yeah i mean apparently apparently you can just
[7:32] Speaker 2: do it for a couple of weeks and magically you're
[7:33] Speaker 2: good at it i mean you've got anomalies and yourself
[7:36] Speaker 2: you're going to be on your show now i've got
[7:37] Speaker 2: to put you over how quick you took to this
[7:39] Speaker 2: i think unbelievable but clearly you're a natural athlete i
[7:42] Speaker 2: mean the current angles of the world's like ronda obviously
[7:44] Speaker 2: when she came in and um yourself but then jelly
[7:48] Speaker 2: roll you know that major athletic background that he has
[7:51] Speaker 2: i'm always hearing about it as a kid and all
[7:53] Speaker 2: those sports he played like i don't know dominoes in
[7:56] Speaker 2: jail i assume.
[7:58] Speaker 4: That's my issue with it because i came in as
[8:01] Speaker 4: a as a lifelong athlete you know and and i
[8:04] Speaker 4: i personally now since i do this find it a
[8:07] Speaker 4: little insulting that like a celebrity thinks they can just
[8:10] Speaker 4: come in the business and and get the.
[8:12] Speaker 2: Green room and And fly on the jet and just
[8:15] Speaker 2: six minute run in at WrestleMania and screw up our
[8:17] Speaker 2: damn main event. Travis Scott, which happened, by the way,
[8:19] Speaker 2: is a shit.
[8:20] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[8:20] Speaker 1: So like, you know, I'm a little bit sick of
[8:23] Speaker 1: the outsiders.
[8:23] Speaker 2: Mike is the answer.
[8:24] Speaker 1: And so like no disrespect to Jelly Roll outside of
[8:26] Speaker 1: the WWE, but in the WWE, I fully intend to
[8:28] Speaker 1: disrespect him a lot.
[8:30] Speaker 5: It just sucks that it had to be Jay Lee,
[8:32] Speaker 5: cuz he's gotta be one of the most beloved people
[8:35] Speaker 5: in the world and- Not, not- Right now, I mean,
[8:37] Speaker 5: if you ask anybody out there, Jelly Roll is probably
[8:39] Speaker 5: one of their favorite people. I mean, does it sadden
[8:42] Speaker 5: you guys to know that you'll be just so hate,
[8:45] Speaker 5: continue to be so hated for going up against someone
[8:48] Speaker 5: that's so beloved?
[8:49] Speaker 2: He's choosing to step in the ring. Like I said
[8:51] Speaker 2: it on Saturday's main event when I kicked him in
[8:53] Speaker 2: the stupid face. And if you step into our ring,
[8:56] Speaker 2: you make yourself a target. He wanted the big shiny WWE,
[8:59] Speaker 2: watched it all his life, he's a big fan, and
[9:01] Speaker 2: he decided to get in our world. Screwed with Logan,
[9:03] Speaker 2: put hands on Logan to begin with, and then cost
[9:06] Speaker 2: me a freaking match against Randy Orton. I was out
[9:08] Speaker 2: for five weeks. I came back, new mindset, new Drew.
[9:11] Speaker 2: I'm not going to get involved in all these personal
[9:13] Speaker 2: issues I've been involved with for the past two years.
[9:15] Speaker 2: People like Punk and Priest, that's not getting me any titles.
[9:17] Speaker 2: I want the damn title back. I want that win
[9:19] Speaker 2: over Randy to put me on track to beat Cena,
[9:21] Speaker 2: the current bitch version of Cena. And he screwed it
[9:24] Speaker 2: all up. He being Jelly Roll, he deserved to get
[9:26] Speaker 2: kicked in the stupid face. And at SummerSlam, Logan and
[9:28] Speaker 2: I are just going to embarrass both of them. I'm
[9:30] Speaker 2: going to get my victory over Randy, boot his arse,
[9:32] Speaker 2: embarrass Jelly Roll, get more eyes on us, get more
[9:35] Speaker 2: eyes on the product so everybody wins, especially me and Logan.
[9:39] Speaker 5: Well, I couldn't have said it any better myself. That
[9:42] Speaker 5: was incredible.
[9:44] Speaker 3: Hey, maybe he can talk in complete sentences.
[9:49] Speaker 2: Come on. I saw the clip and I was just
[9:52] Speaker 2: curious because I was just curious why you would want
[9:55] Speaker 2: to help this guy out.
[9:56] Speaker 3: It wasn't you guys.
[9:57] Speaker 1: You guys are better than this.
[9:58] Speaker 2: It was like, Logan Burns, Drew. And I watched it.
[10:00] Speaker 2: That's not a burn. That's just we haven't talked long enough. Backstage,
[10:04] Speaker 2: I mumble. I don't have a clear voice. I'm from Scotland.
[10:07] Speaker 2: I've got an accent, whatever. But you put a microphone
[10:09] Speaker 2: in front of me, a camera in front of me.
[10:10] Speaker 2: I have to make a point. I'll turn it on
[10:12] Speaker 2: like that. Backstage, I'm not wasting my time turning on.
[10:15] Speaker 3: Screw that.
[10:16] Speaker 2: I ain't got time for that shit. Yeah, you do
[10:17] Speaker 2: turn it on.
[10:18] Speaker 1: And backstage, you're not really in the friends-making business.
[10:21] Speaker 2: No.
[10:21] Speaker 1: Kind of just about the business.
[10:22] Speaker 2: But around for 25 years, one thing I've learned is
[10:25] Speaker 2: we're not friends. We're not family. I was led to believe.
[10:27] Speaker 2: I started wrestling at 15 years old. I was always
[10:29] Speaker 2: led to believe this is your family. These are your
[10:31] Speaker 2: brothers and sisters. You spend more time with each other
[10:33] Speaker 2: than you do with your actual family, which is true.
[10:35] Speaker 2: And I believed that crap my entire career, right up
[10:38] Speaker 2: until CM Punk, Drew McIntyre, Hell in a Cell. I
[10:41] Speaker 2: was fighting for the fans and the people backstage telling
[10:43] Speaker 2: everybody punk is a genuinely awful human being. Genuine piece
[10:47] Speaker 2: of shit. Said it constantly and I'm getting booed. The
[10:49] Speaker 2: fans are coming down on me and I'm like, how
[10:51] Speaker 2: can you do this? I was your guy. I carried
[10:53] Speaker 2: WWE through COVID. I proved to you I'm a good guy.
[10:55] Speaker 2: There's no negative stories about me on the internet. Non-stop
[10:59] Speaker 2: negative stories about him. You do a character study on him.
[11:01] Speaker 2: My degree's in criminology. He's guilty beyond all reasonable doubt.
[11:04] Speaker 2: He's a terrible, terrible human being. I fought him in
[11:06] Speaker 2: hell in the cell. I nearly bled to death. I
[11:08] Speaker 2: lost by blood loss. Not because he beat me disappeared for,
[11:12] Speaker 2: how long was it? Three months nearly. How many people
[11:14] Speaker 2: called me? One.
[11:16] Speaker 3: Logan Paul.
[11:17] Speaker 2: All my brothers and sisters. I'm not going to go
[11:18] Speaker 2: into it right now. All my brothers and sisters. Apparently,
[11:22] Speaker 2: nobody called me to check in on me. All the
[11:24] Speaker 2: fans moved on. And for the fans, I don't blame them.
[11:26] Speaker 2: We're 52 weeks a year. No reruns, no off-season. Doesn't
[11:30] Speaker 2: matter if you're Stone Cold, The Rock, Logan or Drew McIntyre.
[11:32] Speaker 2: Unless you're right in front of their face, they're not
[11:34] Speaker 2: thinking about you. Triple H sits backstage every week. They're
[11:36] Speaker 2: not thinking, oh, Triple H is right there. Unless you're
[11:38] Speaker 2: right in front of their face, the product moves too quick.
[11:40] Speaker 2: It's not their fault. With my brothers and sisters not
[11:43] Speaker 2: to call me, to contact me, I realized what's important
[11:46] Speaker 2: is getting what's yours and getting out. And that's why
[11:48] Speaker 2: I like this man. He understands that he came in
[11:50] Speaker 2: with the same mindset I've got now. It took me
[11:52] Speaker 2: 25 years to get. We're going to get ours, then
[11:55] Speaker 2: we're going to get out, and the product's just going
[11:56] Speaker 2: to keep moving forward. I like you, Drew. This is
[12:02] Speaker 2: going to be sick. There are intelligent people in a
[12:04] Speaker 2: locker room full of freaking morons. Well, you're deceptively intelligent.
[12:09] Speaker 2: Thank you.
[12:09] Speaker 3: You are.
[12:10] Speaker 2: That's a backhanded compliment right there.
[12:12] Speaker 4: No, I mean, Drew, I don't think anyone expects a
[12:14] Speaker 4: guy of your stature who's also a professional wrestler. I
[12:17] Speaker 4: think it's a profession where people probably think most of
[12:19] Speaker 4: us are pretty stupid, I think.
[12:20] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[12:21] Speaker 2: I mean, it's changing slightly as time goes by. I've
[12:23] Speaker 2: seen the difference from 07 to now in the perception
[12:26] Speaker 2: of wrestling and wrestlers. But you're right. People still have that. Well,
[12:29] Speaker 2: because I think they're peeling back the curtain a little bit. Yeah,
[12:32] Speaker 2: and also for me, it's just let me get in
[12:34] Speaker 2: the environments where I can show we're not a bunch
[12:37] Speaker 2: of morons. We're actually college educated. We can string sentences together.
[12:41] Speaker 2: We know how to build a brand. You're the master
[12:43] Speaker 2: of it. I'll be picking your brain. The more we
[12:45] Speaker 2: work with each other, how I can grow this McIntyre brand.
[12:48] Speaker 2: And the more you put me in those situations, especially WWE,
[12:51] Speaker 2: it drives me nuts when I see some of our
[12:53] Speaker 2: guys on some of these huge public platforms, huge TV shows,
[12:57] Speaker 2: because these days, no offense, but 85% of our guys
[13:01] Speaker 2: don't look like they should be in WWE. They're on
[13:02] Speaker 2: Netflix and stuff. And my buddies like go contact me
[13:05] Speaker 2: and go, yo, I've just turned on the wrestling for
[13:07] Speaker 2: a while to see what you're up to. It's cool
[13:09] Speaker 2: to see people, oh, Logan Paul's on there and he's
[13:10] Speaker 2: killing it. You know, Roman Reigns, what a freaking star.
[13:14] Speaker 2: That guy comes on the screen. comes right off the screen,
[13:17] Speaker 2: you're a freaking giant. There's these other guys, they look
[13:19] Speaker 2: like they should be serving me my fast food at
[13:22] Speaker 2: McDonald's or whatever, and I could kick their ass, it
[13:24] Speaker 2: takes me out of it, and I'm like, oh, you know,
[13:25] Speaker 2: they're good at wrestling, and eventually you'll connect with them,
[13:28] Speaker 2: but I'm not going to watch it long enough to
[13:30] Speaker 2: change the channel, so Jesus, guys, get in the freaking gym,
[13:32] Speaker 2: or at least get something that grabs your attention, you
[13:35] Speaker 2: don't have to be jacked.
[13:35] Speaker 3: You're all about this guy, dude, with his sentence structure.
[13:38] Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
[13:38] Speaker 3: He's fucking, he might talk better than us.
[13:40] Speaker 2: Yeah, for sure, degree in criminology.
[13:42] Speaker 3: No way. SummerSlam is just around the corner.
[13:45] Speaker 5: The special two-night event, it's going down on August 2nd
[13:49] Speaker 5: and 3rd at MetLife Stadium, just outside New York City.

[14:44] Speaker 5: your account so you can use it later. Thank you
[14:46] Speaker 5: so much to SeatGeek. Now back to the show. I
[14:49] Speaker 5: want to ask you about some of this past stuff
[14:51] Speaker 5: because you bring up Logan's rise to stardom. So 2007
[14:55] Speaker 5: to 2009, you're in a little bit of a waiting room.
[14:59] Speaker 5: You get the release in June 2014.
[15:02] Speaker 3: You come back.
[15:03] Speaker 2: You've had this story. It was a release that was
[15:05] Speaker 2: fucking fired.
[15:06] Speaker 3: Yeah, for whatever you want to call it.
[15:07] Speaker 5: You've had this storied career, this story climbed to where
[15:09] Speaker 5: you are now at the height of the org.
[15:12] Speaker 3: Does it bother you at all?
[15:15] Speaker 5: Deep down on the inside to see someone who doesn't
[15:19] Speaker 5: have to pay those dues come in and achieve the
[15:21] Speaker 5: level of stardom to be able to wrestle next to
[15:24] Speaker 5: you in the big shows?
[15:26] Speaker 2: No, absolutely not. I'm Drew McIntyre. I've had my own journey.
[15:29] Speaker 2: I have to overcome so much to get where I'm at.
[15:32] Speaker 2: But I know how good I am. I've got my spot.
[15:34] Speaker 2: So it doesn't bother me. And if you can add
[15:35] Speaker 2: to the show, if you genuinely make a difference to
[15:37] Speaker 2: the show, bring eyeballs. and put on performances like someone
[15:40] Speaker 2: like Logan. I always say about Logan, it's not the
[15:42] Speaker 2: moves he does. They're cool, they're spectacular, they're viral, whatever.
[15:45] Speaker 2: It's the in-between stuff. Some wrestlers wrestle their whole life.
[15:48] Speaker 2: They don't know who they are, or they play a character.
[15:49] Speaker 2: They're just not present. They just can't be. Logan knows
[15:52] Speaker 2: exactly who he is, and those in-between moments, you're not
[15:55] Speaker 2: subconsciously thinking, this just feels like a performance. You're like, okay,
[15:59] Speaker 2: I'm emotionally connected to this. When he's on screen, he's
[16:01] Speaker 2: emotionally connected. When I'm on screen, you're emotionally connected because
[16:04] Speaker 2: we know exactly who we are. It takes some of
[16:06] Speaker 2: our talent so long to figure that out. So he's
[16:08] Speaker 2: somebody no issue with. Some other people, not so much.
[16:11] Speaker 2: I got asked a question recently, all the boys in
[16:12] Speaker 2: the locker room were popping. They were like, you know,
[16:14] Speaker 2: if somebody's got a family background in wrestling, the nepotism thing,
[16:19] Speaker 2: does it bother you? I was like, no, of course not.
[16:20] Speaker 2: I'm Drew McIntyre. I've got more opportunities. But I do
[16:23] Speaker 2: tell some of the guys in the locker room when
[16:24] Speaker 2: they're looking for opportunities, Maybe change your last name to Fatu.
[16:27] Speaker 2: You might get more opportunities. Hey, how true is that? Dude,
[16:30] Speaker 2: what the hell, bro?
[16:31] Speaker 1: These Samoans are multiplying like bunny rabbits. And, bro, I
[16:33] Speaker 1: love Samoans.
[16:34] Speaker 2: There's so many of them. All of them I love.
[16:38] Speaker 2: I love The Rock. I love him. Face of Project
[16:40] Speaker 2: Rock right here. Thank you, Dwayne. But the rest of
[16:43] Speaker 2: the family can go fuck themselves. Yeah, just talk. I
[16:46] Speaker 2: like to swear. Yeah, you can swear.
[16:47] Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
[16:48] Speaker 2: Fuck you on. Very Scottish. What did you say?
[16:52] Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
[16:52] Speaker 2: Why'd you get fired? It sounds like there's a little
[16:54] Speaker 2: bit of resentment in that. No, no, I had to
[16:56] Speaker 2: get fired to find myself. Truly, I got signed so young.
[17:01] Speaker 2: I was always like the man in the UK and Europe.
[17:04] Speaker 2: I was always main events, even from 16 years old
[17:06] Speaker 2: right through to 21. Everything was coming so easy to me.
[17:08] Speaker 2: I went to America right away, was put on television
[17:12] Speaker 2: my third week in America. I was like, wow, this
[17:14] Speaker 2: must be normal. It wasn't. I was the chosen one,
[17:17] Speaker 2: Vince McMahon. As soon as I debuted on television, the
[17:20] Speaker 2: world was going to be mine until it wasn't. My
[17:22] Speaker 2: professional life started crumbling, my personal life. My mother got
[17:25] Speaker 2: sick during this period, eventually passed, and I went right
[17:27] Speaker 2: off the deep end. I was drinking every night. I
[17:29] Speaker 2: was an absolute train wreck. I went from the guy
[17:31] Speaker 2: saving the girl on the railroad tracks to the comedy
[17:34] Speaker 2: sidekick on the show. Eventually, I had to get fired
[17:36] Speaker 2: to step back and not just find myself as a
[17:39] Speaker 2: professional wrestler, but find myself as a man. That's the
[17:42] Speaker 2: period where, thank God, I found my wife and she
[17:45] Speaker 2: helped me get me on the straight and narrow because
[17:47] Speaker 2: I was going down a very dark road during that time.
[17:50] Speaker 2: But three weeks outside the company, that's the thing with
[17:52] Speaker 2: social media. That's where I first kind of discovered the
[17:54] Speaker 2: power of it. When I got fired, the reason, I
[17:57] Speaker 2: deserved it. But when I got fired, I was like, okay,
[18:00] Speaker 2: here's my chance. I'm either going to have to leave wrestling,
[18:03] Speaker 2: get a regular job. There wasn't any alternatives at the time.
[18:05] Speaker 2: WWE was the one company at the time. I'm going
[18:08] Speaker 2: to remake myself. I'm going to use this thing on
[18:09] Speaker 2: social media. 2014, it was really kicking off. I'm going
[18:12] Speaker 2: to take the fans around the world and I'm going
[18:14] Speaker 2: to rebuild Drew McIntyre, which I did. And it was
[18:17] Speaker 2: going great for a couple of years, but I was
[18:18] Speaker 2: still out every night, these bad habits, all these dark feelings.
[18:22] Speaker 2: And thankfully, I met my missus and she helped me
[18:24] Speaker 2: work my way through them. Then I finally became a man.
[18:26] Speaker 2: And by the time I cut out so much negativity
[18:28] Speaker 2: in my life, I was back in WWE. And during
[18:30] Speaker 2: that three-year period, I redefined what it meant to be
[18:33] Speaker 2: an independent wrestler. I became a verb to do a Drew.
[18:36] Speaker 2: Get fired, become bigger than you were before, and make
[18:38] Speaker 2: WWE sign you back. So what they tell the NXT
[18:40] Speaker 2: talent is now, Let's go out there and do it, Drew.
[18:44] Speaker 3: Verb. Whoa.
[18:46] Speaker 2: My man's a verb. My tag team partner's a verb.
[18:49] Speaker 2: Cody did it, Drew, no? Yeah, I mean, Cody watched
[18:52] Speaker 2: what I was doing outside the company and thought, man,
[18:54] Speaker 2: I'm in Stardust, same thing. Got the opportunities like me.
[18:57] Speaker 2: We work in a tout for the future. And so
[18:59] Speaker 2: I want to do what Drew's doing. And he went
[19:01] Speaker 2: outside and he did his own version of it, which
[19:03] Speaker 2: resulted obviously in another company. So it's a different version,
[19:07] Speaker 2: but I set the groundwork for that. And I'm sure
[19:10] Speaker 2: Cody and I get the chance to tell our story
[19:11] Speaker 2: on TV. We've known each other since we were, God, 21,
[19:15] Speaker 2: 22 years old. We're former tag team champions. We were 23,
[19:18] Speaker 2: 24 at the time. We've had these parallel careers and
[19:22] Speaker 2: obviously different destinations. So that'll be a fun one down
[19:24] Speaker 2: the line. But yes, he followed the McIntyre plan. He
[19:27] Speaker 2: did a Drew and turned it into Duna Cody.
[19:29] Speaker 5: Whoa.
[19:30] Speaker 1: Dude, you're one of the few wrestlers left who is
[19:34] Speaker 1: just massive, like absolutely massive.
[19:37] Speaker 2: It's a shame, isn't it?
[19:38] Speaker 4: No, I mean, like, dude, I see people in real
[19:40] Speaker 4: life sometimes, like, non-wrestling fans will see me and go, wow,
[19:45] Speaker 4: you're a lot taller than I thought. And wrestling fans
[19:47] Speaker 4: will see me and go, dude, you're a lot smaller
[19:49] Speaker 4: than I thought.
[19:50] Speaker 2: But you're genuinely a massive human being. Thank you. I
[19:53] Speaker 2: get that a lot as well. Wow, you're a lot
[19:55] Speaker 2: bigger in real life and I always get a bigger TV.
[19:59] Speaker 1: No, but you're just a big dude.
[20:02] Speaker 2: Why are you so big? Why not?
[20:05] Speaker 3: Yeah, I guess that's... Were you born that size?
[20:08] Speaker 2: I've always been the tallest person. person, basically in Air Scotland.
[20:11] Speaker 2: I'm from a country of 5 million people. And there's
[20:14] Speaker 2: not many big guys like my buddy, Tom Stoltman, is
[20:17] Speaker 2: world's strongest man a few times. He's 6'8, like 400 pounds.
[20:21] Speaker 2: So he's the biggest guy in Scotland. But I was
[20:23] Speaker 2: always head and shoulders above everybody. I was always in
[20:25] Speaker 2: the back of the class pictures, posture terrible, walking around
[20:28] Speaker 2: like a praying mantis, didn't have the size, just so tall,
[20:31] Speaker 2: was so uncomfortable in my own body. thought it was
[20:33] Speaker 2: a negative for so long, but I wanted to be
[20:35] Speaker 2: a wrestler since I was like five years old and
[20:37] Speaker 2: in WWE specifically. And eventually I was like, wait a minute,
[20:40] Speaker 2: this is a good thing. I got to embrace the height.
[20:42] Speaker 2: I got to start adding the mass and I really
[20:44] Speaker 2: started working out.
[20:44] Speaker 3: How do you do that? What's your caloric intake look like?
[20:47] Speaker 2: I know it now only because I have the first
[20:50] Speaker 2: time in my life, the past six weeks, I got
[20:51] Speaker 2: a personal trainer who does my diet. I've never followed
[20:54] Speaker 2: a diet. Everyone's always asking me for advice because I
[20:56] Speaker 2: was one of the more jacked guys. I was like, Drew,
[20:57] Speaker 2: what do you do? What can I do in the gym?
[20:58] Speaker 2: And what can I eat? I was like, well, I
[20:59] Speaker 2: eat pizza, burgers all the time. You like burgers? So, yes,
[21:03] Speaker 2: I love burgers, but I can't eat them right now
[21:04] Speaker 2: because I'm on this diet and I've gained like 15
[21:06] Speaker 2: pounds in five weeks with this diet that I've been on.
[21:10] Speaker 3: And there's no world where you could break it.
[21:13] Speaker 2: Okay, well, if we're going to eat burgers, let's eat
[21:16] Speaker 2: them at the end of it so I'm not chomping
[21:17] Speaker 2: away at it.
[21:19] Speaker 3: I'd love to get a subject. Maybe you're right. Maybe
[21:22] Speaker 3: he's right about that.
[21:23] Speaker 2: What?
[21:23] Speaker 3: Well, he said let's eat it at the end.
[21:25] Speaker 2: Why? So I'm going to get it all over my
[21:26] Speaker 2: damn nice new shit.
[21:28] Speaker 3: I'd love for you to take a nice fresh bite.
[21:30] Speaker 3: Can you do one bite?
[21:33] Speaker 1: If it's gonna clog your arteries, you know, no, listen,
[21:36] Speaker 1: I'm willing to.
[21:37] Speaker 2: Give a note of alcohol and everything else I put
[21:39] Speaker 2: in my body over the years.
[21:40] Speaker 5: Yeah.
[21:40] Speaker 1: Yeah, you'll be fine.
[21:41] Speaker 2: One burger. And by the way, I'm invincible.
[21:44] Speaker 1: This is, this is not, this is not just any burger, Drew.
[21:47] Speaker 5: All right.
[21:47] Speaker 1: This is Mike's burger chain.
[21:48] Speaker 2: I can see it in his eyes. He's so excited. Ah,
[21:50] Speaker 2: it's your burger chain. I've never seen so much excitement.
[21:52] Speaker 5: Okay.
[21:52] Speaker 3: Cause I love burgers as much as you do. 10,
[21:54] Speaker 3: 10 burger. I had my chef. Can I have the
[21:56] Speaker 3: rest of those chef? Those burgers? I can't reach them.
[21:58] Speaker 5: I had my chef come up and actually make these
[22:01] Speaker 5: because I found out.
[22:01] Speaker 3: That you like burgers.
[22:02] Speaker 2: Yeah, they're my favorite food.
[22:04] Speaker 5: Dude, it's a double smash burger right here, a SoCal smash,
[22:08] Speaker 5: I call it, with two slices of American cheese.
[22:10] Speaker 3: Get a pop on that real quick there, Caleb. All right,
[22:14] Speaker 3: all right, here we go.
[22:15] Speaker 2: We're all going to do it together?
[22:16] Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, sure.
[22:17] Speaker 2: I've got the countdown for the claymore. We'll do the three, two, one.
[22:19] Speaker 2: All right. Oh, that's a great burger. It's hard to
[22:29] Speaker 2: put away. I'm actually going to finish it as soon
[22:31] Speaker 2: as we finish this interview.
[22:32] Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm going to finish it now.
[22:33] Speaker 2: To be fair, I'm behind on the calories. The new
[22:35] Speaker 2: calories is 6,000, by the way. That's what the guy
[22:37] Speaker 2: told me the other day, and I went, that sounds
[22:39] Speaker 2: too much, and he went, nope, that's what we got
[22:40] Speaker 2: you on right now. 6,000 a day, bro? That's what
[22:42] Speaker 2: he told me, and that seemed impossible, but I genuinely
[22:46] Speaker 2: wake up, have this massive shake that I have to
[22:49] Speaker 2: make two shakes. There's 160 grams of oatmeal in the shake.
[22:53] Speaker 2: Then I have the eggs and rice, and then there's
[22:56] Speaker 2: potatoes and God, beef and then beef and rice and
[23:00] Speaker 2: then chicken and rice. Why the diet? When I was out, again,
[23:03] Speaker 2: every time I'm out, you know, I take a step
[23:05] Speaker 2: back and look at things objectively and, you know, where
[23:07] Speaker 2: can I improve? And I took a step back and
[23:10] Speaker 2: I was like, all right, things are going pretty well.
[23:11] Speaker 2: Last year, you know, with myself and Punk, you know,
[23:14] Speaker 2: I put him back on the map, of course. But,
[23:19] Speaker 2: you know, it won like every award, like Feud of
[23:20] Speaker 2: the Year.
[23:21] Speaker 3: Every award.
[23:22] Speaker 2: People started going, oh, wow, Drew can suddenly talk in
[23:23] Speaker 2: the mic. No, Drew could always talk in the mic.
[23:24] Speaker 2: It's playing a different character. I can finally be myself
[23:27] Speaker 2: and all that.
[23:28] Speaker 4: I love that shift, by the way. I personally love
[23:31] Speaker 4: when people stop playing the character.
[23:34] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[23:35] Speaker 1: And just, like, sit who they are.
[23:37] Speaker 2: Yeah. Undertaker told me that when I was, like, younger,
[23:39] Speaker 2: and it just never clicked for years. In fact, I remember, like,
[23:42] Speaker 2: it's another story. Like, I'd have to let you keep
[23:44] Speaker 2: your thought in mind, because I get to do an
[23:45] Speaker 2: Undertaker impression he hates when I do it. We need it.
[23:49] Speaker 2: So when I was younger, like, myself and Seamus were
[23:51] Speaker 2: the youth movement. I got some, bro. They realized the
[23:54] Speaker 2: older generation were going out. They had to bring up
[23:57] Speaker 2: some young guys, so I was on SmackDown, Sheamus was
[23:59] Speaker 2: on Raw, Sheamus got put with Triple H, I got
[24:01] Speaker 2: put with The Undertaker, and I was like, wow, we're
[24:04] Speaker 2: really gonna learn some stuff. Sheamus and I are best mates,
[24:06] Speaker 2: so he talked to Hunter after his matches, I talked
[24:09] Speaker 2: to Taker, and we'd talk on the phone, how'd it go,
[24:11] Speaker 2: and I was like, oh, yeah, man, God, Hunter's the best,
[24:12] Speaker 2: he just broke everything down, just explaining why we do
[24:15] Speaker 2: everything and how we get the crowd reaction, et cetera,
[24:18] Speaker 2: just made it so simple for me. I was like,
[24:19] Speaker 2: what did Undertaker say? I was like, I don't know,
[24:21] Speaker 2: he just talks and riddles. I came back after the match,
[24:24] Speaker 2: and I was like, Taker, what did he think? I
[24:26] Speaker 2: was like, stop playing the wrestler and be the wrestler.
[24:30] Speaker 2: What the fuck does that mean? I'm in wrestling gear.
[24:33] Speaker 2: I'm in a wrestling ring. I don't understand. It took
[24:35] Speaker 2: so long to realize, oh, he's saying I'm trying too hard.
[24:38] Speaker 2: I'm not present. You can see it in someone's eyes
[24:40] Speaker 2: if they're there or not, him in the moment. But
[24:42] Speaker 2: it took me so long for the light bulb to
[24:45] Speaker 2: go off with that. You can finish your thought now. Sorry,
[24:47] Speaker 2: funny stories.
[24:47] Speaker 4: I just find that interesting because, yeah, dude, you have
[24:50] Speaker 4: been doing this forever. And so, like, maybe this was ignorant, but, like,
[24:53] Speaker 4: I didn't.
[24:55] Speaker 1: I wasn't really sure entirely who the character of Drew
[24:57] Speaker 1: McIntyre was, or moreover, if it was believable enough for
[25:01] Speaker 1: me to buy into. Then I saw you just smoking
[25:04] Speaker 1: motherfuckers on the mic and being funny, too. You're a
[25:08] Speaker 1: bit of a troll.
[25:10] Speaker 4: And I resonate towards that troll-y social media vibe. Because
[25:14] Speaker 4: you can see it on social media as well. You're
[25:16] Speaker 4: just fucking around with people and going crazy viral.
[25:19] Speaker 2: Well, both of us are pretty much the same. We're
[25:20] Speaker 2: not your average trolls.
[25:21] Speaker 3: We.
[25:22] Speaker 2: Rip you apart behind the keyboard. Then we get from
[25:25] Speaker 2: behind the keyboard and we can kick.
[25:26] Speaker 3: Your ass as well.
[25:27] Speaker 2: And if we weren't married, we'd take your girls too.
[25:29] Speaker 2: Not your average trolls. Not at all.
[25:32] Speaker 1: But it seems like that's not super common for most wrestlers.
[25:38] Speaker 2: Because they're just not intelligent enough. The good thing, I mean,
[25:40] Speaker 2: you've got a great sense of humor and funny and
[25:43] Speaker 2: don't get offended by everything. But a lot of people
[25:45] Speaker 2: in America tend to get offended by a lot of things.
[25:46] Speaker 3: So true.
[25:47] Speaker 2: From the UK, our sense of humor, we don't get
[25:49] Speaker 2: offended by anything. The way I talk to my friends,
[25:51] Speaker 2: my wife's American, she'll say, are they your friends? The
[25:53] Speaker 2: way we talk to each other. So it's mostly banter
[25:55] Speaker 2: on there. And it just kind of took off and
[25:57] Speaker 2: I started just having fun on there. And then some
[25:59] Speaker 2: of our superstars tried to come back on there and
[26:00] Speaker 2: I was like, you're making a terrible mistake because I
[26:02] Speaker 2: will smoke you. Now you get in the ring, you
[26:04] Speaker 2: can't beat me up because I'm going to beat you
[26:05] Speaker 2: up in the ring too.
[26:07] Speaker 4: You're putting people in a tough position. You put me
[26:09] Speaker 4: in a tough position once. There was a tweet once
[26:10] Speaker 4: I saw. I forget what it was. It was something
[26:12] Speaker 4: like about me or like a quote tweet or something.
[26:15] Speaker 4: And I literally was like, damn, I'm the social media star,
[26:20] Speaker 4: but I'm not prepared to go to social media war
[26:22] Speaker 4: with Drew.
[26:23] Speaker 2: I'd rather not. At least we're on the same team now.
[26:26] Speaker 2: We can take everybody out. It's amazing to watch it grow.
[26:29] Speaker 2: It's just unbelievable, the power of social media. As I say,
[26:33] Speaker 2: I learned it being outside the company, but specifically the
[26:35] Speaker 2: last two years, the power of it and watching the
[26:38] Speaker 2: platform grow to, I mean, I guess the engagement perspective,
[26:41] Speaker 2: the most powerful in the company, aside Rhea Ripley's ass,
[26:46] Speaker 2: I mean, I've seen the numbers. These are facts. So yeah,
[26:51] Speaker 2: it's just unreal that I just get to have a laugh,
[26:53] Speaker 2: take the piss. And the thing is, it's not without
[26:55] Speaker 2: the realms of the character, because the character isn't the character.
[26:57] Speaker 2: It's me. People are like, you know, we're WWE. I
[27:00] Speaker 2: play this character, and I'm this person outside the ring.
[27:02] Speaker 2: I'm like, shut up, man. No one's going to suspend
[27:04] Speaker 2: their disbelief in that case. We're not the same as
[27:06] Speaker 2: doing a movie. No, they do one movie. They're the
[27:09] Speaker 2: character in the movie, they're the regular name outside when
[27:11] Speaker 2: they promote it, and they move on to the next project.
[27:13] Speaker 2: We're 52 weeks a year. Do you want people to
[27:15] Speaker 2: buy in or not? Do you want people to spend
[27:17] Speaker 2: money to see you get your butt kicked if you're
[27:18] Speaker 2: a bad guy or not? So if you're going to
[27:20] Speaker 2: turn it on and turn it off, as far as
[27:22] Speaker 2: I'm concerned, you're an idiot because it seems to be
[27:23] Speaker 2: working for me and yourself to never turn it off
[27:25] Speaker 2: because it's basically us.
[27:26] Speaker 1: It certainly is.
[27:28] Speaker 4: And some of the stuff that you have go viral,
[27:30] Speaker 4: I mean, like, Still Bored at Work went crazy.
[27:33] Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, yeah.
[27:34] Speaker 2: We got this around, too. We got the T-shirt handy.
[27:37] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[27:38] Speaker 2: It only took one year and three months, thanks merch department,
[27:40] Speaker 2: but apparently it's doing well. How did that take so long?
[27:44] Speaker 2: I do not know. I pitched it right away and
[27:46] Speaker 2: it took a while to get it. I had to
[27:48] Speaker 2: do it two years in a row at WrestleMania. For
[27:50] Speaker 2: those that don't know, during WrestleMania, I wrestled Seth Rollins,
[27:53] Speaker 2: WrestleMania 40 for the world title, which I won. We
[27:54] Speaker 2: don't have to talk about what happened after. But during
[27:57] Speaker 2: the match, I took a selfie and posted it on Twitter,
[28:01] Speaker 2: on X, during the match. And it came about that day.
[28:04] Speaker 2: Nobody knew I was going to do it. My buddy
[28:06] Speaker 2: and I were in the gym. I built myself a
[28:09] Speaker 2: team around me over these past couple of years, as
[28:11] Speaker 2: you know all about, trying to bring in people you trust.
[28:15] Speaker 2: They had the soundboard off of, and a lot of
[28:16] Speaker 2: our superstars need that because they embarrass themselves online half
[28:19] Speaker 2: the time or in interviews. But I were in the gym,
[28:21] Speaker 2: and I was just like, man, imagine someone tweeted during
[28:25] Speaker 2: a match. They filmed yourself and then posted it, whatever.
[28:27] Speaker 3: That was cool.
[28:28] Speaker 2: Imagine someone did it in the match. Imagine it was
[28:29] Speaker 2: at Mania, and I was like, man, it'd be so cool.
[28:31] Speaker 2: I don't think it's possible. It's too last minute. Mania's
[28:33] Speaker 2: on in a couple of hours. I have to go
[28:34] Speaker 2: to the building. And I thought about it, I went, well,
[28:36] Speaker 2: there's a moment where I think it might be possible.
[28:38] Speaker 2: Tell you what, we'll make a plan. And if it's possible,
[28:40] Speaker 2: I'll do it, but I'll never sacrifice the match, the
[28:42] Speaker 2: integrity of the match or my opponent, make them look
[28:45] Speaker 2: silly if it doesn't work, but we'll have a plan.
[28:47] Speaker 2: So nobody knew in the back and I didn't know
[28:49] Speaker 2: if it was going to happen, but we had a
[28:50] Speaker 2: moment where Seth took an overhead suplex on the floor
[28:52] Speaker 2: and he's got the bad knees going into that match,
[28:54] Speaker 2: the bad back, and he's selling on the floor. And
[28:56] Speaker 2: that's when it's time. My brother was right there. Give
[28:58] Speaker 2: me the phone. We did it right there on the fly.
[29:01] Speaker 2: It exploded. You tweeted it live?
[29:03] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[29:03] Speaker 4: Did you have, wait, was it saved as a draft?
[29:07] Speaker 4: Was the text ready to go? Or you took the picture?
[29:11] Speaker 2: Well, there's a couple of things to it. But I
[29:13] Speaker 2: took the picture. Then I gave it off. I already
[29:16] Speaker 2: had it saved, ready to go.
[29:18] Speaker 3: I see.
[29:18] Speaker 2: And it just had to get added by my mate.
[29:20] Speaker 3: I see.
[29:20] Speaker 2: And then sent out. But it was done that quick.
[29:22] Speaker 3: Okay. Yeah, yeah. Okay.
[29:23] Speaker 2: There's a little bit of peeling back the curtain. That's
[29:24] Speaker 2: all you're getting from me. But then a year later,
[29:26] Speaker 2: I was like, can we do it again? I was like, yeah,
[29:28] Speaker 2: probably not. And we talked about it and then figured
[29:31] Speaker 2: out a plan. And sure enough, I went, this will
[29:32] Speaker 2: work here, I think. So we'll have it there. If
[29:34] Speaker 2: we need it, good. If we don't, we won't use it.
[29:37] Speaker 2: And I managed to take the selfie with Priest in
[29:38] Speaker 2: the background this year. still bored at work lol and
[29:42] Speaker 2: that fucker exploded the most viral one at Wrestlemania those
[29:46] Speaker 2: insane facts I was getting they were getting directly from
[29:48] Speaker 2: X I guess let me get this right The past
[29:52] Speaker 2: 60 days when it was posted, in the first hour,
[29:55] Speaker 2: it was the second most liked post in 60 days
[29:58] Speaker 2: on X of everything. Like presidents tweeting.
[30:02] Speaker 1: It's crazy. It has like 430,000 favorites.
[30:04] Speaker 2: And during that first hour, the numbers were just unbelievable.
[30:07] Speaker 2: I couldn't believe it. And I was like, can I
[30:08] Speaker 2: get the t-shirt now? It took a few more months.
[30:11] Speaker 2: We finally got it. Thanks, guys.
[30:12] Speaker 5: That is some high-level merchandise, though.
[30:16] Speaker 3: The design on that. I can see how that can
[30:18] Speaker 3: take so long too.
[30:20] Speaker 2: The thing is, my usual merchandise is like crazy high
[30:22] Speaker 2: level because I'm the warrior. It's usually me and a
[30:24] Speaker 2: dragon and a castle and swinging my big sword around
[30:27] Speaker 2: and all that jazz, which I love. But people aren't
[30:30] Speaker 2: going to probably wear it down the street generally. This
[30:32] Speaker 2: is something you can wear to work. And is it ironic?
[30:34] Speaker 2: Is it not ironic? The boss will never know. Yeah, yeah.
[30:36] Speaker 1: Do you think people relate to it? Like, do you
[30:38] Speaker 1: think people are bored at work?
[30:40] Speaker 2: I think most people are very bored at work.
[30:41] Speaker 3: Probably, right?
[30:42] Speaker 2: Because they don't get to do what they love. I
[30:44] Speaker 2: tell the kids out there, my God, please. chase your dreams.
[30:46] Speaker 2: I was told you can't possibly go to WWE. You're
[30:48] Speaker 2: from a little town in a little country. Why would
[30:51] Speaker 2: you be able to do that? Like I told my
[30:52] Speaker 2: family when.
[30:53] Speaker 3: I was a kid.
[30:53] Speaker 2: Yeah, but then you became 6'8. Yeah, I mean, that helps.
[30:57] Speaker 2: But also, like no one else had done it. There's
[30:58] Speaker 2: been a lot of guys before me that kind of tried.
[31:00] Speaker 2: And there's some people that came from Scotland that went
[31:02] Speaker 2: to Canada and, you know, eventually got in there for
[31:05] Speaker 2: a cup of coffee or whatever. I was the first
[31:07] Speaker 2: one ever signed at 21, signed straight from school. I
[31:09] Speaker 2: had to work my ass off. I had to miss
[31:12] Speaker 2: nights out and fun things I wanted to do just
[31:13] Speaker 2: to make sure I busted my ass to make that
[31:15] Speaker 2: Make that dream come true. Also, speaking of Scottish people,
[31:18] Speaker 2: when I found out Roddy Piper wasn't Scottish, I was
[31:20] Speaker 2: like finding out about fricking Santa Claus. That was like
[31:23] Speaker 2: my Santa Claus moment. I wasn't even upset about Santa.
[31:26] Speaker 2: I was upset about Roddy not being Scottish. Wait, so
[31:28] Speaker 2: you're Scottish?
[31:30] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[31:30] Speaker 1: That's why you talk like that?
[31:32] Speaker 2: He's from Scotland. It just doesn't say Alabama. Just kidding. Yeah, dude, Scotland.
[31:40] Speaker 1: Man, I remember the first time I heard that.
[31:44] Speaker 4: the language that people speak in Scotland is English.
[31:50] Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, I'm the most well-spoken Scotsman in the world. Yeah,
[31:53] Speaker 2: but like myself and Gerard Butler get hell from Scottish people.
[31:57] Speaker 2: Everyone else, I have a Scottish accent. To yourself, to
[31:59] Speaker 2: everyone backstage where I'm more difficult to understand, obviously. But
[32:03] Speaker 2: I go back to Scotland and talk to people and like,
[32:05] Speaker 2: why are you talking like that, man? Why are you
[32:06] Speaker 2: talking like a pure prick? Why are you not talking
[32:08] Speaker 2: like this? Oh, no way. It's just a Scottish accent, man.
[32:11] Speaker 3: That's why.
[32:13] Speaker 2: Because nobody can understand us. When I was younger, I remember, again,
[32:17] Speaker 2: peeling back the curtain, maybe I was supposed to win
[32:18] Speaker 2: a certain match, a certain Money in the Bank contract
[32:20] Speaker 2: when I was a kid in 2010, and the finish
[32:23] Speaker 2: got changed at the last second. Kane ended up winning
[32:26] Speaker 2: that one and cashing in on Ray Mysterio that night.
[32:28] Speaker 2: And I remember I was so angry. I went to
[32:30] Speaker 2: the boss's office. I kicked it in. I cut this
[32:32] Speaker 2: big promo, big passionate promo, how we'd have to look
[32:34] Speaker 2: to the future and give me the ball and I
[32:36] Speaker 2: want this. And I just gave this massive speech that
[32:38] Speaker 2: I was so proud of. And he just looked at me,
[32:40] Speaker 2: put the glasses to the end of his nose and said,
[32:43] Speaker 2: we're going to have to get you a locution license, Drew.
[32:45] Speaker 2: And I went, okay, sir. Wow. There was passionate speech
[32:50] Speaker 2: in my life. Damn, you cut a promo on the boss.
[32:52] Speaker 2: I did. I did, and he didn't understand one word
[32:54] Speaker 2: of it. So I worked on that accent. Yeah, fair.
[32:59] Speaker 4: Before you go, I'm just saying, dude, I thought people
[33:01] Speaker 4: from Scotland spoke Scottish.
[33:03] Speaker 1: I thought people from Ireland spoke Irish.
[33:05] Speaker 2: Come on, Logan, you're smarter than I. Don't be American.
[33:07] Speaker 2: Don't be a typical American. I had to give a
[33:10] Speaker 2: geography lesson on SmackDown once because of this crap.
[33:12] Speaker 1: Dude, no.
[33:12] Speaker 2: How does that not make sense?
[33:14] Speaker 3: What the hell are you talking about?
[33:15] Speaker 1: How does that not make sense?
[33:16] Speaker 3: Because you don't teach.
[33:17] Speaker 2: An American skill.
[33:18] Speaker 3: People from Spain speak Spanish.
[33:18] Speaker 2: Yeah, I know. It's just American.
[33:20] Speaker 1: People from Germany speak German.
[33:22] Speaker 2: No offense to the American skill system, but offense. They
[33:25] Speaker 2: don't teach a lot about the rest of the world.
[33:26] Speaker 2: It's like America. I was told they speak English in
[33:32] Speaker 2: Ireland and Scotland. not Irish and Scottish, I'm like, then
[33:35] Speaker 2: why do they sound like that?
[33:37] Speaker 3: Yeah, in his defense, sometimes it sounds like a different language.
[33:40] Speaker 3: It really does. Gaelic?
[33:42] Speaker 1: Do you know Gaelic?
[33:43] Speaker 2: I do not. I say the basics. Slangevar for chills.
[33:47] Speaker 1: Anyways, I would just... Yeah, maybe I'm not as educated
[33:52] Speaker 1: as I thought.
[33:52] Speaker 2: I don't have a degree in terminology. It's an American thing.
[33:54] Speaker 3: He didn't know you had to pay taxes.
[33:56] Speaker 2: Again, I'm a Jamaican, so I speak in facts. I
[33:59] Speaker 2: only tell the truth. I talk to a lot of people,
[34:01] Speaker 2: and I literally gave a geography lesson on Smackdown one time.
[34:05] Speaker 2: I was explaining before Clash at the Castle, the one
[34:08] Speaker 2: with Priest, where Scotland is. I was like, you know,
[34:10] Speaker 2: there's Wales where I had my first big match. That's
[34:13] Speaker 2: a separate country here. Then there's England here and Scotland's.
[34:17] Speaker 3: Way up here.
[34:18] Speaker 2: I got back and I was like, man, I was
[34:19] Speaker 2: kind of bored. I was like, I just wanted to
[34:21] Speaker 2: do it to educate people.
[34:22] Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know if the WWE audience is capable
[34:26] Speaker 4: of being educated.
[34:27] Speaker 2: I mean, we've got doctors and lawyers watching. Like who exactly?
[34:31] Speaker 2: Like I've never met them. I keep getting told that.
[34:35] Speaker 2: I don't know, dude. Sometimes I look out in the crowd.
[34:37] Speaker 2: I'm just like, bro, what hole did you crawl out of?
[34:40] Speaker 2: There's a lot of them. And to be fair, you know,
[34:42] Speaker 2: they're coming to the shows and droves and I've wrestled
[34:45] Speaker 2: in front of nobody. And I've wrestled in front of
[34:48] Speaker 2: WrestleMania crowds and wrestling's harder than it's ever been. And
[34:50] Speaker 2: I've seen the evolution slash devolution halfway through and then
[34:54] Speaker 2: where we're at now and how big the product is.
[34:56] Speaker 2: So I, Do appreciate all our fans. It's just, I'm
[34:58] Speaker 2: constantly having to educate them. Yeah, no, dude, I appreciate
[35:01] Speaker 2: them as well.
[35:02] Speaker 4: And I appreciate how much their aesthetic puzzles me.
[35:06] Speaker 3: Yes.
[35:06] Speaker 2: You know, basically, I mean, look at our roster as well.
[35:09] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[35:10] Speaker 2: No, even the wrestlers as well.
[35:11] Speaker 4: It's like, what kind of relate to a lot of
[35:13] Speaker 4: the guys on the wrestling ring?
[35:14] Speaker 2: And I was like, yeah, stupid when they beat me up.
[35:16] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[35:17] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[35:17] Speaker 2: Yeah. Anyways, you're going to say something.
[35:22] Speaker 5: I'm having trouble keeping up with you two today. To
[35:24] Speaker 5: be honest, you guys should be a tag team. You're
[35:26] Speaker 5: incredible together. You move at the speed of light. How
[35:29] Speaker 5: do you do it at 40 years old? And do
[35:31] Speaker 5: you feel like you're a victim of ageism on the
[35:33] Speaker 5: internet ever? Do people ever call you onk?
[35:36] Speaker 2: Uh, no, they don't call me. I wish they would.
[35:38] Speaker 3: Do they say that you're pushing 50?
[35:40] Speaker 2: No, because we have a lot of guys that are
[35:41] Speaker 2: older than me. But people think I'm older than I am, actually.
[35:44] Speaker 2: I mean, you're very young, 40. You look great. Thank you.
[35:47] Speaker 2: A guy in the car earlier was like, ooh, they
[35:49] Speaker 2: were 30. I was like, hell no. I'm a young
[35:51] Speaker 2: 40 on the outside, but on the inside, I've seen
[35:53] Speaker 2: some shit. WWE for 18 years, America for 18 years.
[35:57] Speaker 2: But what was the question again?
[35:59] Speaker 3: Do you feel 40? No.
[36:00] Speaker 2: How old do you feel? Oh, yeah. I started so young.
[36:03] Speaker 2: I feel 40 to 40. because I've been working hard
[36:06] Speaker 2: on my body recently. I've been doing all this recovery stuff.
[36:09] Speaker 2: I felt 60 before that. But yeah, but I've been
[36:12] Speaker 2: around since I was, whatever, 21, I debuted in WWE 22,
[36:15] Speaker 2: and people have watched me as they grew up. So
[36:17] Speaker 2: when I meet people, they say, I watched you as
[36:18] Speaker 2: a kid. What age are you? I'm 45 or whatever.
[36:21] Speaker 2: I've just been around so long, people think I'm closer
[36:23] Speaker 2: to 50. I won't name some of the guys who
[36:25] Speaker 2: are older. Sheamus, old as hell. But like, there's some
[36:29] Speaker 2: of our talent, like the new guys. I remember we
[36:31] Speaker 2: brought in some guys. I don't want to name names.
[36:33] Speaker 2: The LA Knight.
[36:34] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[36:35] Speaker 2: Like, they've got to get the kids over and stuff.
[36:37] Speaker 2: The kid's three years older than me. If he doesn't
[36:38] Speaker 2: get over now, he's never going to get over. And
[36:39] Speaker 2: he's doing well. So I'm going to say something nice now.
[36:42] Speaker 2: Say something negative. Say something nice. That was good. See,
[36:44] Speaker 2: I got your shit in for you, LA Knight. Good.
[36:46] Speaker 1: Compliments and love.
[36:48] Speaker 2: Do you feel 40?
[36:49] Speaker 3: Today, I do. You're 40?
[36:51] Speaker 2: Yeah. Oh, you don't look 40 either.
[36:53] Speaker 3: Today, I do.
[36:54] Speaker 2: I'm not feeling.
[36:54] Speaker 3: I've been feeling a little under the weather. It's because we're... No,
[36:58] Speaker 3: usually I could keep up. I was traveling. I was abroad.
[37:01] Speaker 3: I was out in the UK, actually.
[37:02] Speaker 2: Yeah, great.
[37:03] Speaker 3: I was in London.
[37:04] Speaker 2: All right.
[37:05] Speaker 4: Can I ask, as someone who has been doing this
[37:07] Speaker 4: for a long time, what has it been like under
[37:14] Speaker 4: the direction of Triple H versus Vince?
[37:21] Speaker 2: I mean, it's different. Obviously, Hunter learned under Vince, and
[37:24] Speaker 2: he created the world that we're currently in. um but
[37:28] Speaker 2: hunter is very much of the the modern thinking um
[37:32] Speaker 2: and for vince i think for me personally he had
[37:34] Speaker 2: a certain image of me and he was always looking
[37:36] Speaker 2: to to protect me as this warrior character and just
[37:39] Speaker 2: if i wanted to try something outside the box and
[37:41] Speaker 2: stuff i'm doing now like for me personally um it
[37:45] Speaker 2: probably wouldn't happen just because he was like no this
[37:47] Speaker 2: is my my drew this is my warrior this is
[37:48] Speaker 2: how i see it and hunter was very much of
[37:50] Speaker 2: the mindset i was now we're going to try something
[37:52] Speaker 2: different we're going to let you I'm not a heel,
[37:55] Speaker 2: everything I said is true. I'll fight everybody verbally and
[37:57] Speaker 2: I'll beat you every time. I'm not a heel, I'm
[37:59] Speaker 2: justified in every action that I've done. But we're gonna
[38:02] Speaker 2: try this and let you be yourself and let this
[38:03] Speaker 2: personality that he knew I had shine. And from the
[38:07] Speaker 2: second we had our first conversation when he took over,
[38:09] Speaker 2: it's been exactly that. We've developed this McIntyre character and
[38:12] Speaker 2: we watched what happened with the bloodline. Just how WWE
[38:15] Speaker 2: shouldn't be black and white. With 52 weeks a year,
[38:18] Speaker 2: we can grow these deep-layered, complex storylines, these deep-layered, complex characters.
[38:22] Speaker 2: If people are good enough at their job, they become
[38:24] Speaker 2: three-dimensional instead of so black and white. And I knew
[38:27] Speaker 2: I could do that because I've done it before outside
[38:28] Speaker 2: the company. I've been able to develop this MacIntyre character
[38:32] Speaker 2: where people know me inside and out. They know my thinking.
[38:34] Speaker 2: They know exactly who I am. And the character development
[38:37] Speaker 2: has been so much fun rather than some haphazards, lefts
[38:39] Speaker 2: and rights. It's been very consistent.
[38:41] Speaker 1: And is it primarily you working on developing this?
[38:45] Speaker 2: I get a big voice in it, but it's our
[38:47] Speaker 2: creative team, it's Hunter himself, and it's all of us
[38:49] Speaker 2: working together. And when they come up with the plan,
[38:51] Speaker 2: like here's where we're going, Drew, put your color in it,
[38:55] Speaker 2: here's the outline. Ah, I see. Or here's the music, Drew,
[38:58] Speaker 2: put your lyrics in there. I see, okay.
[38:59] Speaker 4: Yeah, because we were talking earlier about you just having
[39:05] Speaker 4: your wife as a soundboard and bouncing ideas off of her.
[39:08] Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, when she doesn't laugh, I know it's funny.
[39:10] Speaker 2: I was telling you the one about, I'll say on here,
[39:12] Speaker 2: like a few of the punk lines. I was in
[39:14] Speaker 2: the shower, I was doing my best thinking, as you said,
[39:16] Speaker 2: you do as well. I was like, babe, okay, we'll
[39:17] Speaker 2: get through here. I've got an idea. I think we're hurt,
[39:20] Speaker 2: what's the matter? I was like, okay, okay. Right, CM Punk,
[39:22] Speaker 2: CM Punk. You know what's ironic about CM Punk? Doesn't
[39:26] Speaker 2: do drugs, doesn't drink, he's straight edge, yet he spends
[39:29] Speaker 2: all his time in rehab because he's always hurt. So
[39:32] Speaker 2: she didn't laugh and I went, that's a winner. So
[39:34] Speaker 2: I got that out. So it was constantly, yeah, doing that.
[39:36] Speaker 2: And then there's one, you know, obviously on the chemo
[39:40] Speaker 2: gimmick that I ran by her that I don't know
[39:42] Speaker 2: if we can talk about right now. And she did
[39:44] Speaker 2: not laugh. So I knew it'd be funny. And that's
[39:46] Speaker 2: really the metric for you. But I know it's going
[39:48] Speaker 2: to get laughed because she didn't laugh.
[39:50] Speaker 4: Why is she does she not have like a sense
[39:53] Speaker 4: of humor or like what's the i mean.
[39:55] Speaker 2: She just doesn't find me funny personally i don't think.
[39:57] Speaker 6: It how does that work yeah it's american i don't
[40:02] Speaker 6: know like we've connected on basically everything we are very
[40:04] Speaker 6: opposites in a lot of ways that's why like you
[40:06] Speaker 6: know um we're drawn to each other i've been with
[40:09] Speaker 6: people that were very much the same and um it
[40:11] Speaker 6: just never never works we're very much the opposite so
[40:14] Speaker 6: like the parts that are I don't know, like Tetris
[40:17] Speaker 6: pieces we just kind of fit into each other perfect
[40:19] Speaker 6: and kind of complete each other.
[40:20] Speaker 5: So when you watch like a comedy together, like a
[40:24] Speaker 5: funny movie, does one person find it funny and the
[40:26] Speaker 5: other person hates it?
[40:28] Speaker 2: Generally, we laugh together at the regular funny parts. Those
[40:30] Speaker 2: other parts I'll laugh at and she'll look at me and,
[40:32] Speaker 2: why are you laughing at that? We just watched Final
[40:34] Speaker 2: Destination at the beginning with some dickhead. I don't know,
[40:36] Speaker 2: something horrific happened to them, and that person started laughing.
[40:38] Speaker 2: She was like, that is not funny. I was like,
[40:40] Speaker 2: are you just shocking?
[40:42] Speaker 3: Oh, so you have like the dark sense of humor.
[40:43] Speaker 2: Oh, very dark. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Very, very British sense
[40:46] Speaker 2: of humor.
[40:47] Speaker 3: Yeah, that makes sense.
[40:47] Speaker 1: How did you meet your wife?
[40:51] Speaker 2: She always wanted to make up some story. She fell
[40:52] Speaker 2: off a bridge in a car, but in a bar.
[40:54] Speaker 2: The bar me and Seamus went to for 10 years. Oh,
[40:56] Speaker 2: no way. McDinton's in Tampa. Oh, in Tampa?
[40:59] Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
[41:00] Speaker 1: She just walked in?
[41:01] Speaker 2: I mean, I lived there for... Yeah, I've got 12 years, whatever.
[41:03] Speaker 2: Seamus and I have been going to the same place
[41:04] Speaker 2: for years. She walked in. It was a quiet night.
[41:07] Speaker 2: And I remember she was wearing little white shorts. It
[41:08] Speaker 2: caught my attention. Occasionally, she'll not feel so good about herself.
[41:12] Speaker 2: And I'll remind her how hot she is. And I'll say, babe,
[41:14] Speaker 2: when I looked across the bar at you, I thought,
[41:16] Speaker 2: I bet she's got a good sense of humor. I
[41:17] Speaker 2: bet she's got a great personality. So then I got
[41:20] Speaker 2: to know that part of you. But yeah, it's your looks, babe.
[41:23] Speaker 2: Then I got to know the personality. Wow, that's a
[41:26] Speaker 2: classic story.
[41:26] Speaker 3: It is.
[41:27] Speaker 2: She doesn't like it. She wants a more exciting one.
[41:28] Speaker 2: But that's it. It's great.
[41:31] Speaker 1: It's a classic story. Now it's, you know, either you
[41:34] Speaker 1: don't have a story because no one's getting together anymore.
[41:38] Speaker 2: Yeah, I just missed those. That just did not seem
[41:42] Speaker 2: like a lot of fun. I can't imagine back in
[41:44] Speaker 2: the dating world. I'm just seeing the way like all
[41:47] Speaker 2: the tenders and everything started right after that. And just, yeah,
[41:50] Speaker 2: the way people date now. I don't know. You do.
[41:53] Speaker 2: Creating some super STDs, yo. Some super STDs. Do you
[41:58] Speaker 2: have kids? Uh, not that I know of. No, I'm joking.
[42:01] Speaker 2: I don't.
[42:02] Speaker 3: Do you want kids?
[42:04] Speaker 2: Uh, yeah. I mean, we've talked about it. Uh, the
[42:06] Speaker 2: way the schedule is now is certainly, um, the first
[42:09] Speaker 2: time I've started thinking, okay, maybe we're getting close to time.
[42:12] Speaker 2: Like I've always wrestled. I've always been on the road.
[42:13] Speaker 2: I knew I'd have to sacrifice things that I want
[42:16] Speaker 2: in my life. If I wanted to take this as
[42:17] Speaker 2: far as I could, being away from my family, we're
[42:19] Speaker 2: so important to me for, for so long. Um, and
[42:22] Speaker 2: we used to be three, four days a week, every
[42:25] Speaker 2: single week. And it used to be even crazier when
[42:27] Speaker 2: I first started and, I remember having a conversation with
[42:29] Speaker 2: Nick Cannon. He told me it's going to slow down.
[42:31] Speaker 2: I promise, whatever, with a couple of family tragedies. And
[42:33] Speaker 2: I was like, I need to get some more time
[42:35] Speaker 2: off to be with my family. And he guaranteed me
[42:37] Speaker 2: it's slowing down. Wrestling's changing. And sure enough, now, the
[42:40] Speaker 2: way the schedule is, it's great for the talent to,
[42:42] Speaker 2: you know, keep our bodies together, but also keep your
[42:44] Speaker 2: families together. And now I can see a world, if
[42:46] Speaker 2: I had a kid and when I have a kid,
[42:48] Speaker 2: that I can be present when they're a baby. I
[42:50] Speaker 2: don't want to be on the road just watching them
[42:51] Speaker 2: on FaceTime. I want to be a present dad. Yeah,
[42:53] Speaker 2: it sucks. It sucks.
[42:55] Speaker 4: I have a nine-month-old daughter and... I don't leave for long,
[42:59] Speaker 4: super long periods of time. But even when I'm gone
[43:02] Speaker 4: for like three to seven days, my wife, well, fiance,
[43:06] Speaker 4: almost wife, about to be wife, will send me videos
[43:08] Speaker 4: of Esme just.
[43:10] Speaker 1: Like playing around.
[43:11] Speaker 2: And it's like, I don't know. I love seeing the videos,
[43:14] Speaker 2: but it does eat at you a little bit.
[43:17] Speaker 4: So I guess what I'm saying is I really respect
[43:19] Speaker 4: you making that or waiting to make that decision because, yeah,
[43:23] Speaker 4: it could weigh on you.
[43:24] Speaker 2: If you're not prepared a lot of people tell me
[43:26] Speaker 2: just you know get it done you know earlier so
[43:28] Speaker 2: you're younger and you get those like quality time so
[43:30] Speaker 2: it's good you've you know you all you know have
[43:32] Speaker 2: the kid there and you're young and when you're whatever
[43:36] Speaker 2: age um i would do the math right now because
[43:38] Speaker 2: we're talking about intelligent i don't want myself looked up
[43:41] Speaker 2: but uh but you'll be young enough you know to
[43:43] Speaker 2: be there for all the important moments so i'll be
[43:45] Speaker 2: a i'll be an older dad but it has been
[43:47] Speaker 2: a conscious decision to put it all into the career
[43:49] Speaker 2: and i know how my brain is i know how
[43:51] Speaker 2: laser focused i get and The wife isn't a big
[43:53] Speaker 2: wrestling fan. I mean, it allows me the balance in
[43:57] Speaker 2: my life that I needed because I'm such a psychotic
[43:59] Speaker 2: wrestling fan. She's not a wrestling fan.
[44:00] Speaker 3: No, no.
[44:01] Speaker 1: Do you guys have anything in common?
[44:03] Speaker 2: Yeah, we love each other and doing it and spending
[44:05] Speaker 2: time together under cats.
[44:07] Speaker 3: And that one bar in Tampa.
[44:09] Speaker 2: Yeah, we live in Nashville now, so we reminisce about
[44:11] Speaker 2: that one bar. But no, we've actually moved out to
[44:15] Speaker 2: the countryside. When I say Nashville, we're way out, away
[44:17] Speaker 2: from everybody. We keep getting further and further from neighbors.
[44:19] Speaker 2: We're becoming more hermits than what we get, which means
[44:21] Speaker 2: we really enjoy each other's company. We enjoy our cat's company,
[44:24] Speaker 2: and human beings don't interest us.
[44:27] Speaker 3: You guys watch any movies recently, any shows, anything like that?
[44:31] Speaker 3: Consumed content?
[44:32] Speaker 2: Yeah, we've powered through a bunch of different shows recently.
[44:35] Speaker 2: It's whatever's kind of current we watch. Yeah, we watch Ballerina.
[44:39] Speaker 2: the other day.
[44:39] Speaker 3: Oh yeah, how was that? Did you see that?
[44:41] Speaker 2: I didn't see it. Good, I enjoyed it. The new
[44:43] Speaker 2: superhero movie as well, The Thunderbolts. Enjoyed that as well.
[44:47] Speaker 2: That was pretty good. She's not a big superhero person,
[44:49] Speaker 2: she didn't like it, but I thought.
[44:50] Speaker 1: It was fine. Would you ever consider doing movies?
[44:54] Speaker 2: I mean, I did a bit part in Batista's movie,
[44:57] Speaker 2: Killer's Game. Dave's always looked out for me since I
[44:59] Speaker 2: was a kid, and when I was screwing up, he'd
[45:01] Speaker 2: be the only one to pull me aside and give
[45:02] Speaker 2: me advice, look out for me, and then sure enough,
[45:05] Speaker 2: years later, he becomes this huge movie star and calls
[45:07] Speaker 2: me and goes, hey Drew, you know, you want this
[45:09] Speaker 2: opportunity in this movie. This character is just perfect for you.
[45:12] Speaker 2: And I was like, oh, okay. I never really thought
[45:13] Speaker 2: about doing this. People always tell me, you look like
[45:15] Speaker 2: you've fallen out of Game of Thrones or Braveheart or something.
[45:17] Speaker 2: Maybe you should try something like this and, you know,
[45:20] Speaker 2: it might be fun for you. And I went to
[45:22] Speaker 2: the set. I was terrified. He relaxed me and as
[45:24] Speaker 2: soon as that red light goes on, it's amazing what
[45:26] Speaker 2: WWE prepares you for. I've been in front of a
[45:28] Speaker 2: camera my whole life. Again, saying we're, you know, humans,
[45:31] Speaker 2: not so comfortable around, but as soon as we're, on
[45:33] Speaker 2: a camera or whatever, as soon as I see a
[45:35] Speaker 2: red light, I'm like, oh, okay, I can relax now,
[45:37] Speaker 2: I see the red light. The red light came on,
[45:39] Speaker 2: I was boom, right in the park, had fun, got
[45:41] Speaker 2: some great feedback, and thought maybe I will do this
[45:44] Speaker 2: one day, or maybe at least if the right opportunity comes,
[45:46] Speaker 2: I'll do it.
[45:46] Speaker 1: Yeah, because even your aesthetic is so unique. For anything
[45:51] Speaker 1: medieval or Game of Thrones-y, I feel like you could
[45:54] Speaker 1: definitely have a second career. You could be one of
[45:56] Speaker 1: the wrestlers that has a second career in acting.
[45:59] Speaker 2: Maybe.
[45:59] Speaker 1: Maybe.
[45:59] Speaker 2: Or maybe you'll just never see me again. Like I
[46:01] Speaker 2: keep telling everybody, when I'm gone, I'm gone. You won't
[46:03] Speaker 2: see me coaching on some TV show or begging for
[46:05] Speaker 2: your attention. When Drew McIntyre is gone, he may just
[46:07] Speaker 2: be gone forever. So enjoy it while you can.
[46:09] Speaker 1: What are you going to do?
[46:10] Speaker 3: And what's the reason?
[46:11] Speaker 2: Hobbies. Again, my wife did say, you really better talk
[46:14] Speaker 2: to Logan about building this, branding, using your name right now,
[46:17] Speaker 2: and expanding. And she's right. We have a couple of
[46:19] Speaker 2: properties and the likes and investments. But she was like,
[46:22] Speaker 2: you're going to get so bored, so you've got to
[46:24] Speaker 2: just start working on something now. So she wants that
[46:26] Speaker 2: to run, and I'll be the face of it. But
[46:27] Speaker 2: I want hobbies. I'm in Nashville. I've started shooting and stuff.
[46:30] Speaker 2: I'm like, wow, this is kind of fun. Shooting guns? Yeah.
[46:33] Speaker 3: Like targets?
[46:34] Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm pretty good at it, actually. It just came naturally.
[46:36] Speaker 2: My dad used to be in the RAF briefly, the
[46:38] Speaker 2: Royal Air Force. He was a very good shot, and
[46:40] Speaker 2: apparently it gets passed down because I was just nailing
[46:42] Speaker 2: that bullseye one after another. Really?
[46:43] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[46:44] Speaker 2: What other hobbies? That's about it. I'm trying to find them. Golf.
[46:49] Speaker 2: I'll try golf eventually because I'm Scottish, I guess.
[46:51] Speaker 3: You ever heard of disc golf?
[46:53] Speaker 2: No. Dude.
[46:55] Speaker 3: We talk about it all the time, but we never
[46:57] Speaker 3: do it.
[46:57] Speaker 2: No, we never do it.
[46:58] Speaker 3: We have to. We have to do it, dude.
[46:59] Speaker 4: Yeah, it's throwing a Frisbee into, like, a high-quality Frisbee
[47:03] Speaker 4: towards you.
[47:04] Speaker 2: I'm not sure how it would be in my hands. Like,
[47:06] Speaker 2: in the UK, I only played with soccer. Like, football,
[47:08] Speaker 2: the real football, you kick with your foot, you know?
[47:10] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[47:11] Speaker 2: So everything with the hands, I'm awful. When I come over, like,
[47:13] Speaker 2: in some of the shows, and some of the boys
[47:15] Speaker 2: are shooting hoops or throwing American football around, I'm like, whew,
[47:18] Speaker 2: I'm not touching that. Suddenly, I look very unathletic. Like, Cody,
[47:21] Speaker 2: that recent appearance, was it Fanatics Fest?
[47:23] Speaker 3: Yeah. God.
[47:24] Speaker 2: Don't do that again. I mean, bro, it can't be
[47:25] Speaker 2: worse than me. I mean, I guess. Watch it. Rhea
[47:29] Speaker 2: was hitting one after another.
[47:30] Speaker 3: Oh, she, I saw the clips there.
[47:32] Speaker 2: She crushed it. She was amazing.
[47:33] Speaker 1: How does an Australian woman have an arm like that
[47:35] Speaker 1: for a football? Throwing the pigskin.
[47:36] Speaker 2: I have no idea. Well, they've got Aussie football over there. Oh,
[47:40] Speaker 2: they got rugby, right? Yeah, rugby and Aussie rules football.
[47:43] Speaker 3: Oh, wow. Oh, yeah.
[47:44] Speaker 2: So, yeah, maybe from there. I don't know. She's just
[47:46] Speaker 2: a natural athlete.
[47:47] Speaker 4: I mean, you know, a lot of people got exposed
[47:49] Speaker 4: in that competition. You know, I'll certainly speak for myself.
[47:53] Speaker 4: that it turns out I'm really just good at wrestling
[47:57] Speaker 4: and punching stuff.
[47:59] Speaker 2: That's all you need?
[48:00] Speaker 1: Yeah, which is fine, I guess.
[48:01] Speaker 2: I thought I was going for art. If I'm not
[48:02] Speaker 2: good at something, I don't like to do it. I
[48:05] Speaker 2: used to be good at pool when I was a kid.
[48:07] Speaker 2: I'm from Scotland. My parents were always in the pub,
[48:09] Speaker 2: so my brother and I would just go shoot pool
[48:10] Speaker 2: all the time. It was really good when I was
[48:12] Speaker 2: a kid. If you don't use it, you lose it.
[48:13] Speaker 2: I played that game when I came to America. I
[48:14] Speaker 2: was like, I'm going to show them. I'm going to
[48:15] Speaker 2: play pool and just... Wipe the floor with all these guys. Boom.
[48:18] Speaker 3: Terrible.
[48:19] Speaker 2: Gave up right away.
[48:19] Speaker 3: Got smoked. Yeah.
[48:20] Speaker 2: Tried some darts. Awful. If I'm not good at something
[48:23] Speaker 2: right away, I'm quitting it.
[48:24] Speaker 1: Yeah, you got to work on the hobbies, man, because
[48:26] Speaker 1: you will get bored.
[48:28] Speaker 2: You're going to get bored.
[48:29] Speaker 1: You got to build that brand outside. So maybe, do
[48:33] Speaker 1: you look up to William Wallace?
[48:35] Speaker 2: Well, of course. I was on the path to getting
[48:38] Speaker 2: our freedom. So we're pillaged by the English for so
[48:40] Speaker 2: freaking long. Not recently. Historically. It wasn't like me personally.
[48:43] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[48:44] Speaker 2: But yeah, he put us on the path. What a
[48:46] Speaker 2: Scottish hero. And then obviously Robert the Bruce finished the
[48:48] Speaker 2: job in 1314 at the Battle of Bannockburn. Not that
[48:51] Speaker 2: I know every little fact about our country, but I
[48:53] Speaker 2: fucking love Scotland. And I hate that I never got
[48:55] Speaker 2: to see as much of it as I'd like to
[48:57] Speaker 2: have growing up. Because when you grow up in the
[48:58] Speaker 2: country and there's a castle ruined at the end of
[49:00] Speaker 2: your street from the 10th century, you're like, whatever. You
[49:03] Speaker 2: come to America and it's suddenly, oh, you've got great
[49:05] Speaker 2: history in your country. I don't care. I'm in my
[49:07] Speaker 2: early 20s. Give me the booze and the birds. Yeah.
[49:09] Speaker 2: The more you keep going, this is a really old drill.
[49:11] Speaker 2: This is a really old building. It was built in
[49:13] Speaker 2: the 1950s.
[49:14] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[49:15] Speaker 2: Oh, my God. That's crazy. Let me tell you the
[49:18] Speaker 2: castles in my street.
[49:19] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[49:19] Speaker 2: But every day I've started learning more about my history
[49:21] Speaker 2: and I've got a longing to go back to Scotland.
[49:23] Speaker 2: It really has a pull on you. Being Scottish, the
[49:26] Speaker 2: longer you're away, I can't wait to see more of
[49:28] Speaker 2: the land and learn more about the history that I
[49:30] Speaker 2: don't know.
[49:30] Speaker 3: Interesting.
[49:31] Speaker 1: Yeah, dude, my dad loved Braveheart, the movie Braveheart.
[49:33] Speaker 2: 100% historically accurate. Just don't check any history books. But
[49:38] Speaker 2: the premise is right.
[49:40] Speaker 4: Did William Wallace really get tortured like that at the end?
[49:42] Speaker 2: He did. Yeah, that part's accurate.
[49:44] Speaker 1: That was pretty brutal.
[49:45] Speaker 2: It was pretty brutal. And all he was doing was
[49:47] Speaker 2: trying to give his people free life and not be slaves.
[49:51] Speaker 2: So that's why he's a hero.
[49:53] Speaker 3: Do you.
[49:54] Speaker 2: How many swords do you have? I have three on
[49:57] Speaker 2: the wall in my office that I've used in WWE.
[50:01] Speaker 1: Is one of them the one that The Rock gave you?
[50:03] Speaker 1: The Rock gave you a sword?
[50:04] Speaker 2: He did when I resigned with WWE just over a
[50:08] Speaker 2: year ago now. I had a meeting in LA and
[50:11] Speaker 2: we got a nice little surprise sword from Rock and
[50:14] Speaker 2: a nice little note that I never have and never
[50:16] Speaker 2: will share with the world. It was very cool. Oh, really? Again,
[50:18] Speaker 2: he's somebody that's always looked out for me. The people
[50:21] Speaker 2: we have around us now have just always been there
[50:23] Speaker 2: for me, like Conor. obviously in creative and rock. Since
[50:27] Speaker 2: I was a kid, I remember meeting him when he
[50:29] Speaker 2: first came back to WWE and he went out of
[50:31] Speaker 2: his way to say hi. I just didn't want to
[50:32] Speaker 2: bother him. And I remember being on a flight one
[50:34] Speaker 2: time and his ex-wife, Danny, was there. His business partner
[50:36] Speaker 2: said such positive things about me. And TMZ in 2018,
[50:40] Speaker 2: he was asked, who do you think's the future star?
[50:42] Speaker 2: And I was doing nothing of relevance at the time.
[50:43] Speaker 2: He went Drew McIntyre. And eventually now he's evolved to
[50:47] Speaker 2: where we're at now with the face of Project Rock.
[50:49] Speaker 2: He's someone that's always been there. So sick. And looked
[50:51] Speaker 2: after me, which is very cool. And sometimes like our
[50:53] Speaker 2: smart fans on the internet. I was like, Drew, if
[50:55] Speaker 2: you hate the Bloodlines so much, why do you like
[50:56] Speaker 2: The Rock? I don't hate them because whatever the part
[50:59] Speaker 2: of the family, if you wrong me personally, then I
[51:01] Speaker 2: don't like you. Jey Uso, Roman Reigns, just because he
[51:05] Speaker 2: does this now, Jey, and says yeet, you like him.
[51:08] Speaker 2: It doesn't mean I like him. I get PTSD for
[51:09] Speaker 2: what his family did to me. Roman went on vacation,
[51:11] Speaker 2: drank some margaritas, got some abs. You like him. I
[51:14] Speaker 2: like him screwing me over in front of my family. Whatever,
[51:17] Speaker 2: Rock's always looked out for me. If you look at McIntyre,
[51:19] Speaker 2: every single thing you consider I've done wrong, I can
[51:22] Speaker 2: explain every single thing, justify every single thing, and prove
[51:24] Speaker 2: to you would do the same thing, and that's why
[51:25] Speaker 2: I'm not a bad guy. You're not a bad guy. No.
[51:29] Speaker 2: Just tell the truth. Yeah, same, bro. In the world
[51:31] Speaker 2: we live in, people just don't like to hear the truth.
[51:33] Speaker 2: They act like they want to, and then you tell them,
[51:34] Speaker 2: and they're like, well, I don't want to hear that.
[51:35] Speaker 2: I just want to live in my little show. Yeah,
[51:37] Speaker 2: facts are tough, dude. Facts are tough.
[51:38] Speaker 4: That's why you got to bring receipts. You got to
[51:40] Speaker 4: bring receipts and make green screen videos about people.
[51:42] Speaker 2: I need a green screen.
[51:44] Speaker 1: You need a green screen.
[51:44] Speaker 2: There's something we can work on together. Actually, actually, brother.
[51:47] Speaker 3: You should do that. You don't.
[51:48] Speaker 1: You don't need a green screen.
[51:50] Speaker 4: On Instagram, there's an effect where it puts a green
[51:54] Speaker 4: screen behind you. So even when I don't have my infamous,
[51:57] Speaker 4: notorious green screen that I absolutely just body people on
[52:01] Speaker 4: who lie on my name, you could just do it
[52:03] Speaker 4: on Instagram if.
[52:04] Speaker 2: You need to make an emergency green screen video. All right,
[52:07] Speaker 2: all right. My brain's going, and now we're a team.
[52:10] Speaker 2: We've got so much power. What's that? Spider-Man is a quote.
[52:13] Speaker 2: With great power comes great responsibility. Yeah, we're going to
[52:15] Speaker 2: abuse the fuck out of that. That's right. It certainly
[52:18] Speaker 2: feels like that.
[52:20] Speaker 3: Ragebait.
[52:21] Speaker 2: What did you say?
[52:23] Speaker 3: Ragebait. Ragebait?
[52:23] Speaker 2: The Ragebaiters?
[52:25] Speaker 3: How do you feel about that name? Do you still
[52:27] Speaker 3: like that name? No, no.
[52:28] Speaker 2: I mean, it just came to my mind, because people
[52:30] Speaker 2: just get so annoyed sometimes when they say stuff. Sometimes
[52:32] Speaker 2: they pop, sometimes they get annoyed. I don't care.
[52:34] Speaker 1: I actually had some ideas. Some ideas for tag team
[52:41] Speaker 1: names for you and I.
[52:41] Speaker 2: All right. What do they call themselves? RK-Roll? That's basically
[52:46] Speaker 2: us in the Maverick Warriors. The first thing popped in
[52:48] Speaker 2: your head?
[52:50] Speaker 1: Okay, we could do a forever over.
[52:53] Speaker 2: Forever over?
[52:54] Speaker 5: Okay.
[52:55] Speaker 2: F-O. F-O. F-O forever. The faces that run the places. Yeah,
[53:03] Speaker 2: I think that's been done. Wasn't that AJ? Was it?
[53:06] Speaker 2: I believe so. Oh, hell no then. Hell no.
[53:11] Speaker 3: The Batman.
[53:12] Speaker 1: Because it's like Batman and Robin, but we're both Batman.
[53:16] Speaker 2: We're both Batman. So we're the Batman. I don't know
[53:19] Speaker 2: about the name, but the vibe is good.
[53:22] Speaker 3: So rage bait then.
[53:25] Speaker 2: Yeah, we're the rage baiters. We're just big sexy bastards.
[53:30] Speaker 2: That's fucking cool. That's cool.
[53:33] Speaker 3: BSB.
[53:34] Speaker 4: Because it reminds me of Fat Bastard from Austin Powers.
[53:38] Speaker 2: I believe he was Scottish as well. He was supposed
[53:42] Speaker 2: to be Scottish. He's like a combination of you and
[53:43] Speaker 2: Jelly Roll, that guy. He is a combination of me
[53:46] Speaker 2: and Jelly Roll.
[53:50] Speaker 5: Did Scotland have a history of Black Plague or something
[53:52] Speaker 5: like that? Did the potato famine ever touch Scotland? Did
[53:55] Speaker 5: anything really bad ever happen there?
[53:58] Speaker 2: Yeah, we briefly talked about the English enslaving us. The
[54:02] Speaker 2: plague reached its way to Scotland from England.
[54:04] Speaker 3: So what, they can embody that a little bit? Oh,
[54:07] Speaker 3: the plaguers. The potato famines?
[54:10] Speaker 2: That was more of an Ireland thing. We helped out.
[54:13] Speaker 2: We helped out our brothers. Dude, what's up with the English?
[54:14] Speaker 2: They were all Celtic. Yeah, I mean, Scotland, England, sorry, Scotland, Ireland,
[54:18] Speaker 2: and Wales were all Celtics. And then English or not.
[54:22] Speaker 2: I'm still the British guy. I'm the only ever British
[54:24] Speaker 2: world champion ever, three times. And the only ever British
[54:26] Speaker 2: Royal Rumble winner ever because, yeah, there's no one. From England,
[54:29] Speaker 2: I guess it was good enough. You name it, Rego,
[54:30] Speaker 2: the British Bulldog, Wade Barrett. Nobody got it done. Old
[54:35] Speaker 2: Big Mac here. Let's go. Okay, so look. I don't
[54:39] Speaker 2: know if you know this or not.
[54:40] Speaker 4: I mentioned it on SmackDown last week, but our podcast,
[54:45] Speaker 4: this one that you're watching right.
[54:47] Speaker 2: Now at home, we just signed a deal with Fanatics
[54:51] Speaker 2: and the WWE. Congratulations. Yeah, thank you so much.
[54:54] Speaker 1: We're now officially a part of the family.
[54:55] Speaker 2: Thank you, Dylan. Thank you very much.
[54:57] Speaker 4: And we got a question for you on behalf of
[54:59] Speaker 4: Fanatics and us, which is we're kind of curious about it.
[55:03] Speaker 2: Would you want your next shirt to be?
[55:04] Speaker 3: Yeah. Then I'll sign.
[55:05] Speaker 2: We're going to put a brush on it.
[55:08] Speaker 4: No, if you could go back in time and give
[55:11] Speaker 4: your younger self a legendary piece of memorabilia, what would
[55:15] Speaker 4: it be?
[55:17] Speaker 2: Ooh, that's a good one. I thought it was going
[55:18] Speaker 2: to be the advice thing, and I say the same thing.
[55:20] Speaker 2: I wouldn't change anything.
[55:22] Speaker 4: Well, because as you know, fanatics, they're known for having
[55:24] Speaker 4: a bunch of cool memorabilia and signed merchandise and stuff.
[55:28] Speaker 3: They're curious.
[55:28] Speaker 1: I mean.
[55:31] Speaker 2: For this one, it would just change my life. If
[55:32] Speaker 2: I answer something like some crazy rookie card that's worth
[55:36] Speaker 2: a fortune, then it changes my life and I'm not
[55:38] Speaker 2: the guy I am now. So it would just have
[55:39] Speaker 2: to be something personal. Oh, you're thinking about like the
[55:41] Speaker 2: butterfly effect. Yeah, I mean, you change one thing, especially
[55:45] Speaker 2: something that significant. If I give young Drew something worth
[55:47] Speaker 2: a few million pounds, a few million dollars, it significantly
[55:51] Speaker 2: changes my journey and the man I am today. What
[55:53] Speaker 2: would you do with it?
[55:54] Speaker 1: Sell it or something?
[55:56] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[55:57] Speaker 2: Young Drew? He doesn't have any money. I grew up
[55:59] Speaker 2: with check shit.
[56:01] Speaker 3: Okay.
[56:02] Speaker 2: So the way I would do it is something personal.
[56:04] Speaker 2: Let's think this through. Something personal that's worth money, but
[56:06] Speaker 2: not like life changing and no retirement kind of money.
[56:11] Speaker 2: So I would go with like something signed by Ali McCoy.
[56:15] Speaker 2: My favorite Glasgow Rangers football soccer player. That would be
[56:19] Speaker 2: personal to me. It'd be worth money, but not like
[56:21] Speaker 2: something crazy. Like try to think of any American football player. John, man.
[56:26] Speaker 2: Pat McAfee? Pat McAfee. The guy from Ace Ventura. Dan Marino,
[56:32] Speaker 2: rookie card.
[56:34] Speaker 3: A lot, yeah.
[56:34] Speaker 2: When I first came to America, Seamus and I used
[56:36] Speaker 2: to screw with everybody talking about Michael Jordan. I was like,
[56:40] Speaker 2: the Space Jam guy and pretend we didn't know he
[56:42] Speaker 2: played basketball.
[56:42] Speaker 1: And drove everybody crazy. How do you find American culture?
[56:46] Speaker 2: Michael Jordan, rookie card. That'd be worth a lot of money.
[56:49] Speaker 2: I have so much money. You do?
[56:50] Speaker 3: Of course.
[56:51] Speaker 2: Hell yeah. And that Pokemon card. But yeah, I ain't
[56:54] Speaker 2: giving Young Drain any of that crap. He would screw
[56:55] Speaker 2: it up and Probably, yeah.
[56:57] Speaker 3: Yeah, fair. Use it on blow.
[56:59] Speaker 2: That would be the size he is right now. Use
[57:02] Speaker 2: it on blow. Ah, see, I see. I didn't know
[57:07] Speaker 2: you were thinking that deep about it all. You've got
[57:09] Speaker 2: to think about everything three-dimensionally. You really are. Our superstars really,
[57:12] Speaker 2: really don't. They say stuff all the time. Like, God.
[57:14] Speaker 2: And some people go, why would Drew say that? It might,
[57:16] Speaker 2: you know, get him in trouble, whatever the thing is.
[57:18] Speaker 2: Whatever I say is always in line with Drew McIntyre.
[57:22] Speaker 2: Just think about things three-dimensionally. Think about things that's going
[57:24] Speaker 2: to affect my personal life. Or is this going to
[57:27] Speaker 2: affect my work life? It may give me a slap
[57:29] Speaker 2: on the wrist. I get a lot of that. If
[57:30] Speaker 2: I go too far, Hunter's the first one there to go, nope,
[57:33] Speaker 2: and pull me right back. But at the same time,
[57:35] Speaker 2: it's a lot easier to pull somebody back than push
[57:36] Speaker 2: them forward. You've wrestled with Triple H, correct? Oh, yeah.
[57:40] Speaker 2: Hunter and Shawn eliminated me from my first Royal Rumble. Oh,
[57:42] Speaker 2: no way. 2010, it was so insane. It blew my mind.
[57:45] Speaker 2: I was like, wow, DX are eliminating me from my
[57:46] Speaker 2: first Royal Rumble. That's sick.
[57:48] Speaker 3: A question.
[57:48] Speaker 1: Was it weird for you to then.
[57:55] Speaker 4: Take direction from someone who you used to wrestle with
[58:00] Speaker 4: and is now your boss?
[58:01] Speaker 2: No. I mean, not him specifically. We never got in
[58:04] Speaker 2: the ring too many times, but I've always looked up
[58:06] Speaker 2: to him.
[58:07] Speaker 3: I see.
[58:08] Speaker 2: I've always seen him as somebody that is a mentor,
[58:10] Speaker 2: a veteran, learning from all the time ever since I
[58:12] Speaker 2: was a kid. Now it's exactly the same. If I've
[58:15] Speaker 2: got an idea, I know I can take it to
[58:16] Speaker 2: him and he can make it 10 times bigger or
[58:19] Speaker 2: just a slight change of the camera position, whatever. And
[58:22] Speaker 2: so I've always thought of him as, Oh, I'll ask
[58:25] Speaker 2: Triple H.
[58:26] Speaker 1: I want to ask you, you know, as your tag
[58:28] Speaker 1: team partner, I too am always trying to learn and
[58:30] Speaker 1: just absorb.
[58:31] Speaker 2: Do you have.
[58:33] Speaker 1: Any advice for me?
[58:35] Speaker 4: Or is there, is there something I should be thinking
[58:37] Speaker 4: about as I progress in my own personal WWE career?
[58:45] Speaker 2: I mean, everything's been a slam dunk so far. Just
[58:48] Speaker 2: keep doing what you're doing and not just in the present,
[58:52] Speaker 2: but okay, where is this going to get me? What's
[58:54] Speaker 2: the next evolution of Logan Paul? Because eventually people don't
[58:57] Speaker 2: believe it and you're going to laugh when I say it,
[58:59] Speaker 2: Mark's out there, but eventually you're going to turn baby
[59:02] Speaker 2: face like Dominic's doing right now when there's a fine
[59:04] Speaker 2: line between love and hate. And eventually you're going to
[59:06] Speaker 2: be getting wildly cheered down the line. So it's just
[59:08] Speaker 2: doing what you're doing, running your mouth being yourself having
[59:11] Speaker 2: a laugh making this thing with us as big as
[59:13] Speaker 2: possible and just keep making those slam dunks because eventually
[59:16] Speaker 2: in a couple of years as i say that a
[59:18] Speaker 2: line between love and hate is so thin yeah it's
[59:20] Speaker 2: just going to go the other way and you're not
[59:21] Speaker 2: going to be like oh god okay good guy now
[59:23] Speaker 2: the thing is when you do turn good guys out
[59:25] Speaker 2: there and girls have some advice there's no one asks
[59:27] Speaker 2: advice anymore i don't care be terrible but um god
[59:32] Speaker 2: what was my point um could have been anything I
[59:36] Speaker 2: don't know I'm just off off on a random tangent
[59:38] Speaker 2: right now and my brain shut off on me piece
[59:40] Speaker 2: of advice piece of advice piece of advice um I
[59:44] Speaker 2: don't know. I don't want to give everyone advice. Clearly
[59:45] Speaker 2: my brain shut down. I mean, I was about to
[59:46] Speaker 2: give everyone else advice. I was giving you advice and
[59:49] Speaker 2: my brain shut down. He was like, actually, fuck you.
[59:51] Speaker 2: Come and ask me if you want to.
[59:52] Speaker 3: That's his advice to you is fuck off.
[59:55] Speaker 2: It's so funny. My brain literally shut down in the moment.
[59:57] Speaker 2: I went, this never happens to me. Why did my
[59:58] Speaker 2: brain shut down? Clearly my subconscious doesn't want to give advice.
[1:00:02] Speaker 4: Maybe it's from that bump you took last week or
[1:00:04] Speaker 4: a few weeks ago. You took a crazy bump with
[1:00:07] Speaker 4: Damien Priest.
[1:00:07] Speaker 3: I thought you were sober.
[1:00:10] Speaker 2: It's what we call when we land.
[1:00:11] Speaker 3: Oh, a wrestling bump.
[1:00:13] Speaker 2: Oh, no. None of those bumps. But yeah, I missed
[1:00:16] Speaker 2: the table. There was two tables. I took a choke
[1:00:18] Speaker 2: slam off of a platform that was about 10 foot
[1:00:21] Speaker 2: high and hit my head on the ground, which was
[1:00:25] Speaker 2: not ideal.
[1:00:26] Speaker 1: Yeah, not at all, man.
[1:00:27] Speaker 2: No. No, no, I wasn't feeling too good. My neck
[1:00:29] Speaker 2: wasn't feeling too good. But thankfully, I'm Drew McIntyre, and
[1:00:32] Speaker 2: I bounced back. Dude, you get fucked up, Drew. You specifically.
[1:00:36] Speaker 2: I remember at, what was it? It was Elimination Chamber.
[1:00:40] Speaker 1: By the way, I dove off the, or jumped off
[1:00:44] Speaker 1: the top of the Elimination Chamber, cross-bodied you, actually.
[1:00:47] Speaker 2: Afterwards, I was like, ooh, I hope that guy's okay.
[1:00:51] Speaker 2: sorry my neck cut you yeah yeah yeah my job
[1:00:54] Speaker 2: to make sure you're safe yeah.
[1:00:56] Speaker 1: Yeah and i no i was fine trust me i
[1:00:58] Speaker 1: was good but after the match i heard you had
[1:01:02] Speaker 1: busted your eardrum you're getting cooked out there bro.
[1:01:06] Speaker 2: Yeah i was mildly annoyed i don't think this one
[1:01:08] Speaker 2: reached the internet actually every time i get angry it
[1:01:10] Speaker 2: seems to make the internet because when i get angry
[1:01:12] Speaker 2: i get really angry i'm pretty calm most of the
[1:01:14] Speaker 2: time even in my anger when i'm beating people up
[1:01:16] Speaker 2: i'm calm but Yeah, when I flip, I really flip.
[1:01:19] Speaker 2: I think I tore up the training room after that
[1:01:20] Speaker 2: one because I was so upset that I thought I
[1:01:22] Speaker 2: might miss WrestleMania.
[1:01:23] Speaker 1: Oh, man.
[1:01:24] Speaker 2: One elimination chamber, going to fight for the title in Mania.
[1:01:26] Speaker 2: Everything's finally on track. The character's on track. The career's
[1:01:29] Speaker 2: on track. Everything feels right. And in my mind, I
[1:01:33] Speaker 2: could be out. So I ripped apart the training room
[1:01:36] Speaker 2: and took Larry Heck, the trainer, to calm me down.
[1:01:39] Speaker 2: I was so freaking angry. Yikes.
[1:01:40] Speaker 1: Do you think Seth's injury is a work or a shoot?
[1:01:44] Speaker 2: I mean, I want him to be okay, of course.
[1:01:46] Speaker 2: He's somebody that's a professional rival, not a personal rival.
[1:01:49] Speaker 4: Because like, obviously being someone who's in the business, but
[1:01:54] Speaker 4: also someone who watches it as a fan, I don't
[1:01:59] Speaker 4: even know what's real and what's not.
[1:02:01] Speaker 2: I just don't see the benefit if it was a storyline.
[1:02:03] Speaker 2: Like if it was Money in the Bank briefcase, it's
[1:02:04] Speaker 2: going to be a surprise anyways. Haha, I threw a
[1:02:06] Speaker 2: match and then did this. I see. But maybe there's
[1:02:10] Speaker 2: more to it if it becomes a story and I'm
[1:02:11] Speaker 2: just not seeing the bigger picture. I just, I hope
[1:02:13] Speaker 2: his knee's okay is the big thing.
[1:02:15] Speaker 1: Me too.
[1:02:15] Speaker 2: It just, man, I just never know what to expect
[1:02:17] Speaker 2: from these guys. I'm always like.
[1:02:19] Speaker 1: Keeping all the options open.
[1:02:19] Speaker 2: I mean, I love a surprise. I just, at the
[1:02:21] Speaker 2: same time, I can't see it. But at the same time,
[1:02:23] Speaker 2: I don't have to be able to see it. If
[1:02:24] Speaker 2: there's a bigger plan and I'm like, oh, okay.
[1:02:27] Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[1:02:27] Speaker 1: Which they often do.
[1:02:29] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[1:02:29] Speaker 2: And our fans are always trying to figure out things
[1:02:31] Speaker 2: like all the time. Like try to get to the,
[1:02:32] Speaker 2: what's the finish? I'm like, did you say that up
[1:02:34] Speaker 2: in movies? Just give it a second.
[1:02:35] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[1:02:35] Speaker 2: It might not be a finish, but it might still
[1:02:37] Speaker 2: be a workshop to get there. Everyone relax and watch
[1:02:39] Speaker 2: the stories. It plays out because half the time we're
[1:02:41] Speaker 2: Figuring out what his way plays out.
[1:02:43] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[1:02:44] Speaker 4: Well, dude, I'm really excited to move forward with you
[1:02:46] Speaker 4: on this and fuck up Jelly Roll and Randy Orton
[1:02:49] Speaker 4: and SummerSlam.
[1:02:50] Speaker 1: I think we're going to do some damage.
[1:02:52] Speaker 2: We're going to do some serious, serious damage. Kind of
[1:02:55] Speaker 2: in one of these fucking moments where the celebs win
[1:02:57] Speaker 2: over the guys that are going to carry the company.
[1:02:58] Speaker 1: Into the next 10 years, 20 years.
[1:03:00] Speaker 2: It seems impossible. Yeah, that would be a huge fuck up. Yeah.
[1:03:04] Speaker 3: Yeah, no. Yeah.
[1:03:06] Speaker 2: I also, I have personally collected a receipt from Jelly Roll.
[1:03:11] Speaker 1: He hit me in the face. Like, actually, he punched
[1:03:14] Speaker 1: me in the face.
[1:03:15] Speaker 2: Good. Now you can punch him back in the face.
[1:03:18] Speaker 3: Yeah, no, yeah.
[1:03:18] Speaker 1: I fully plan on it.
[1:03:19] Speaker 4: And so I don't, I'm excited to see how he's
[1:03:21] Speaker 4: going to handle that. Because this shit's hard, man.
[1:03:23] Speaker 2: And it hurts.
[1:03:24] Speaker 3: Good.
[1:03:24] Speaker 2: As you know. It does. And if you spend some
[1:03:26] Speaker 2: time with Joe, you should be able to take a hit.
[1:03:28] Speaker 2: I've heard some of his stories and it sounds like
[1:03:30] Speaker 2: he's thrown down a few times. We'll see, bro. We'll see.
[1:03:32] Speaker 2: You've got those deadly hands, so I'm excited to watch
[1:03:34] Speaker 2: it from the apron. We'll see.
[1:03:36] Speaker 1: All right.
[1:03:36] Speaker 2: We'll work on the tag team name.
[1:03:38] Speaker 3: When is it? When is it? When is SummerSlam?
[1:03:40] Speaker 2: August 2nd and 3rd, I believe.
[1:03:41] Speaker 1: It's either August 2nd or 3rd.
[1:03:42] Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah. In Jersey. Right next to New York.
[1:03:46] Speaker 1: Cardi B's hosting it or something. I think she might
[1:03:48] Speaker 1: be wrestling or something.
[1:03:50] Speaker 2: Woo! Is this the first two-day SummerSlam?
[1:03:52] Speaker 3: Yes, it is.
[1:03:52] Speaker 2: Yeah, I believe it is.
[1:03:53] Speaker 1: First two-day SummerSlam, which is pretty cool.

[1:04:09] Speaker 2: Somebody's got some contacts and some power. We're going to
[1:04:11] Speaker 2: crash that show. All right. Ladies and gentlemen, it's Drew McIntyre.
[1:04:14] Speaker 2: Thank you, brother.

[1:04:19] Speaker 3: Honestly, what the fuck, bro? That was whack.
[1:04:22] Speaker 1: You're the clapper.
[1:04:23] Speaker 2: Come on.
[1:04:25] Speaker 3: Yes.
[1:04:25] Speaker 2: The clap? No, that's not good tag team name.
[1:04:28] Speaker 3: All right.
