[0:00] Speaker 1: Come on. Do your thing, Big Daddy.
[0:02] Speaker 2: Uh-huh. I sure will. Good morning, everybody. You are listening
[0:06] Speaker 2: to The Voice.
[0:07] Speaker 1: Come on.
[0:08] Speaker 2: Dig me now. One and only Steve Harvey. Got a
[0:11] Speaker 2: radio show. Got a radio show because God in the
[0:14] Speaker 2: blessing business. Got a radio show because God is in
[0:17] Speaker 2: the forgiving business. Got a radio show because God will
[0:21] Speaker 2: let you turn your life around business. Got a radio
[0:24] Speaker 2: show because God know better than you know. Yeah, Steve
[0:28] Speaker 2: Harvey got a radio show. Didn't see it coming, but
[0:31] Speaker 2: he did.
[0:32] Speaker 1: I'm going to share with you today a principle of success.
[0:39] Speaker 1: You know, it's important that we get our lives together.
[0:43] Speaker 1: I mean, it really, really is. You know, the hereafter
[0:46] Speaker 1: is exactly what it says is the hereafter. And hopefully
[0:50] Speaker 1: for the majority of us, it's quite a ways off.
[0:55] Speaker 1: So what about how you live in today? How about now?
[0:59] Speaker 1: You know, I often talk in the morning about your
[1:03] Speaker 1: relationship with God. That can never change. That is at
[1:06] Speaker 1: the forefront and the best thought process that I can
[1:12] Speaker 1: give you. And I know who I'm talking to on
[1:14] Speaker 1: the radio. I'm talking to a lot of people, man,
[1:17] Speaker 1: who are out there just not sure. And I'm talking
[1:21] Speaker 1: to a lot of people out there, man, that's trying
[1:24] Speaker 1: to pull it together. In other words, you know, I'm
[1:27] Speaker 1: talking to a lot of people like myself. There is
[1:31] Speaker 1: a principle of success that is out there that if
[1:34] Speaker 1: more people understood one of the bait, this is just
[1:36] Speaker 1: one of one of the basic principles of success, you
[1:39] Speaker 1: would have more success in your life. And that principle
[1:43] Speaker 1: is this. The more people you help become successful, the
[1:48] Speaker 1: more successful you become. Well, the more people you help
[1:53] Speaker 1: become successful, the more. Successful you become because you are
[1:57] Speaker 1: practicing helping you. And as you do unto others, then
[2:02] Speaker 1: it's done unto you. You know, you build relationships when
[2:08] Speaker 1: you do that. People forget in success there has to
[2:12] Speaker 1: be relationships. There is no one person in this world
[2:15] Speaker 1: who is just successful all on their own. You are
[2:19] Speaker 1: successful and successful people form relationships, right? And you've got
[2:25] Speaker 1: to really coddle these relationships. You've got to nurture these relationships.
[2:31] Speaker 1: They don't just happen. You don't just get cool with
[2:34] Speaker 1: people just because you cool. No, you've got to do
[2:38] Speaker 1: some cool things to these people and for these people,
[2:41] Speaker 1: for these people to be cool with you when you
[2:43] Speaker 1: need some cool. I don't know if I'm explaining that right,
[2:46] Speaker 1: but that's the best way I can tell it to you.
[2:48] Speaker 2: I'm just.
[2:49] Speaker 1: Regular, you know, I'm just, I'm just speak like that. This,
[2:52] Speaker 1: this is an important principle to put into your life.
[2:56] Speaker 1: The more people you help become successful, the more successful
[3:00] Speaker 1: you become. You can look, you have to say to people, Hey, look,
[3:05] Speaker 1: I've done that. This is what you got to do.
[3:07] Speaker 1: You got to take some time out to share. You
[3:10] Speaker 1: have to share information, experiences, thoughts. You got to take
[3:15] Speaker 1: a minute, man. To uplift somebody, give them some encouragement. Hey, man,
[3:20] Speaker 1: you can do it. Don't give up. You have no idea. You, you,
[3:26] Speaker 1: you right now, you have no idea how significant you
[3:31] Speaker 1: are to someone else. How your words of encouragement could
[3:36] Speaker 1: be the difference maker today. I'm talking about it's a
[3:39] Speaker 1: person looking at you that you don't even really know. No,
[3:41] Speaker 1: you don't really know them. And you see them struggling
[3:44] Speaker 1: with something. Just say, hey, you know what? I've been
[3:46] Speaker 1: watching you from afar. You're going to be all right, man.
[3:49] Speaker 1: I see some menu. Keep doing the right thing, man.
[3:52] Speaker 1: You're going to be all right. I had a meeting
[3:55] Speaker 1: with a young man for the first time. And this
[3:58] Speaker 1: young man came into my office. I never met him.
[4:02] Speaker 1: He has an Internet service. which anybody can teach me
[4:06] Speaker 1: something about the Internet because I know little to close
[4:08] Speaker 1: to nothing. He was 27 years old, and he was
[4:14] Speaker 1: amazingly bright at this. And I guess, you know, that
[4:19] Speaker 1: it's not that hard to impress me, but the fluid
[4:24] Speaker 1: speech pattern that he had about this very, very difficult subject,
[4:28] Speaker 1: he was tossing around the terms I had heard, but
[4:31] Speaker 1: he was actually putting them in sentences where it made
[4:33] Speaker 1: sense to me. It's very fluid, very, very sure of
[4:37] Speaker 1: himself when he was talking about this little thing. Young dude,
[4:41] Speaker 1: 27 years old. And when he got through the woman
[4:45] Speaker 1: that had introduced me to him, I was leaving my
[4:47] Speaker 1: office and she was going to escort him out. And
[4:50] Speaker 1: I turned around and I said, young man, I said, what, what,
[4:54] Speaker 1: what size pants are you? And I guessed it because
[4:57] Speaker 1: I've been dressing for long. I've been all them sizes
[5:01] Speaker 1: and I, I said, you bought a 30 waist? He said, yes, sir.
[5:04] Speaker 1: I said, what size shoe you wear? He said, nine
[5:06] Speaker 1: and a half. I said, what size shirt is that,
[5:08] Speaker 1: a medium? He said, I really like extra large. I said, well,
[5:12] Speaker 1: that's too big for you. You just want to look
[5:14] Speaker 1: lousy and baggy. And so I was talking to him,
[5:18] Speaker 1: and I said, man, I'm going to help you out.
[5:21] Speaker 1: I said, man, because let me tell you something. You're
[5:23] Speaker 1: a sharp young dude, man. You are razor sharp. I said,
[5:27] Speaker 1: you've really, really impressed me today. I said, and you
[5:31] Speaker 1: know what, young brother? I said, you're going to make
[5:32] Speaker 1: a lot of money one day, man. I said, but
[5:35] Speaker 1: I want you to get your image up. I want
[5:38] Speaker 1: you to look at how you dress because you're coming
[5:40] Speaker 1: into professional people's office and you're talking about doing something
[5:44] Speaker 1: for them and it takes money to make it happen.
[5:47] Speaker 1: I got to give you money to make this happen.
[5:49] Speaker 1: What you cannot afford to do is look like you
[5:52] Speaker 1: need every dime of this money. See, when you go
[5:55] Speaker 1: in there and you're talking about money with another person,
[5:59] Speaker 1: The person that's going to give you this money cannot,
[6:01] Speaker 1: it can't look like you need every dime of this money.
[6:04] Speaker 1: You know, so you got to start presenting yourself. And
[6:07] Speaker 1: that's all I just said to him. I just said, man,
[6:09] Speaker 1: but you know what? You're sharp. You're going to make
[6:11] Speaker 1: yourself some money. I'm going to help you out a
[6:13] Speaker 1: little bit. I walked out. I went on about my business.
[6:16] Speaker 1: Later on that afternoon, I had a meeting with the
[6:18] Speaker 1: woman that brought him in. And she said, Mr. Harvey,
[6:21] Speaker 1: you have no idea what you just did. He said
[6:23] Speaker 1: his eyes just teared up when you walked out. He said, wow, man,
[6:27] Speaker 1: that man don't even know me. And he just encouraged me.
[6:32] Speaker 1: He said, man, I always thought I might could make it.
[6:34] Speaker 1: But he said, I ain't never had nobody like him
[6:37] Speaker 1: tell me I could make it. And just hearing it
[6:39] Speaker 1: from him, man, that's all right. I'm going to get
[6:43] Speaker 1: my clothes together. But, you know, I've been homeless. And
[6:47] Speaker 1: then he started telling the woman that he had been homeless.
[6:50] Speaker 1: And so, you know, then she telling me that. Now
[6:52] Speaker 1: I'm fitting to cry because, you know, I've been in
[6:54] Speaker 1: that hole before. And I'm just sharing that story with
[6:57] Speaker 1: y'all just to say, You don't know who you're talking to,
[7:02] Speaker 1: but what does it hurt if you just extend your
[7:05] Speaker 1: hand to a person and give them a moment of encouragement? See,
[7:09] Speaker 1: this young brother right here, he could come back one
[7:13] Speaker 1: day and be a major benefit to me because he
[7:16] Speaker 1: has a skill set that I don't have. Oh, I
[7:20] Speaker 1: might be old Mr. Steve Harvey, but hey, guess what?
[7:23] Speaker 1: I don't know nothing about what this young cat knows.
[7:26] Speaker 1: And he went off and educated himself. And just a
[7:28] Speaker 1: word of encouragement from somebody like yourself can make all
[7:33] Speaker 1: the difference in another person's life. So remember, on your
[7:38] Speaker 1: way to the top, the more people that you help
[7:42] Speaker 1: become successful, the more successful you become. It's a requirement
[7:47] Speaker 1: of God that you do that. That ain't Steve Harvey talking.
[7:50] Speaker 1: If you read your Bible, somebody got a Bible verse
[7:52] Speaker 1: to back me up. Email it to me today if
[7:54] Speaker 1: you know what it is. I don't know, but y'all
[7:56] Speaker 1: do out there.
[7:58] Speaker 2: All right.
