[0:00] Speaker 1: Alright guys, here we are. Last break of the day.
[0:02] Speaker 1: Thank you to our Steve Harvey Nation for riding with
[0:05] Speaker 1: us every single morning. Junior, you got a question for
[0:08] Speaker 1: Steve to close us out? I got a question for you, man.
[0:11] Speaker 1: You know, when you was out there doing the crazy
[0:13] Speaker 1: stuff you was doing, how.
[0:15] Speaker 2: Was you sitting up there looking at God when you
[0:18] Speaker 2: was in trouble back then?
[0:21] Speaker 1: What do you mean? How was I sitting up there
[0:24] Speaker 1: looking at God?
[0:25] Speaker 2: No, I'm just asking.
[0:27] Speaker 1: Crazy stuff he was doing.
[0:30] Speaker 2: What would make you think I was looking at God
[0:32] Speaker 2: while I was.
[0:33] Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying? How were you looking? Like,
[0:35] Speaker 1: how did he find you?
[0:37] Speaker 2: Come on, man.
[0:37] Speaker 1: That's what you're saying. So, okay, say it again, Jude,
[0:42] Speaker 1: so I can understand. You must be in a crisis
[0:44] Speaker 1: or something. Tommy! Be honest with you, I really am. Oh,
[0:48] Speaker 1: you're in a crisis right now? Yeah. Yeah. It's in
[0:54] Speaker 1: my shoulder. That's all good. It's in the shoulder.
[0:57] Speaker 2: Yeah. Junior.
[1:00] Speaker 1: Man, what y'all worried about? You saw the weather changed.
[1:05] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[1:05] Speaker 1: You know that. You ain't got no app on your phone. Wait, wait, wait.
[1:10] Speaker 1: You ain't got no app on your phone. For what?
[1:13] Speaker 1: What's that going to do? An app to say what?
[1:15] Speaker 1: For the weather. If you know the weather change, let's
[1:17] Speaker 1: get some coats on. What is we sitting up in here?
[1:19] Speaker 2: It's fall.
[1:20] Speaker 1: Enjoying this breeze. It's fall.
[1:21] Speaker 2: What is... If it's barometric pressure or something.
[1:26] Speaker 1: Let me ask this man a question.
[1:28] Speaker 2: You know what?
[1:29] Speaker 1: You're everything right now. Paying attention.
[1:31] Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm just trying to keep crisis there. He got
[1:34] Speaker 2: to find a way around this. He said, y'all saw
[1:36] Speaker 2: the weather change. Yeah, we saw the weather change, but
[1:39] Speaker 2: it ain't do nothing to us. You got to get
[1:44] Speaker 2: a grip on this weather, man, or you're going to
[1:46] Speaker 2: ask us how to move your little ass to Phoenix.
[1:50] Speaker 2: All right, Junior, I'm going to pray for you, man.
[1:52] Speaker 1: Go ahead. What you want to know now? Thank you.
[1:55] Speaker 1: When you were out here, when you wasn't the man
[1:59] Speaker 1: that you are today. Oh, no. When I was tripping. Yeah. OK. Yeah.
[2:04] Speaker 1: How did you get to where you are now?
[2:07] Speaker 2: That relationship that you have with God now.
[2:08] Speaker 1: What did it take for you to do that? Oh,
[2:11] Speaker 1: it was easy. It was easy.
[2:13] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[2:14] Speaker 1: He took everything. Oh, wow. I lost it all. Yeah,
[2:18] Speaker 1: that's all. He know how to get my attention.
[2:21] Speaker 2: And the two times he needed my attention, he caused
[2:25] Speaker 2: me to lose everything, which was my measuring stick for
[2:31] Speaker 2: myself was what I was accomplishing. So when he strips
[2:35] Speaker 2: all that accomplishment, he go, okay, now what's your measuring strip?
[2:39] Speaker 2: Until I finally figured out that my measuring stick needed
[2:42] Speaker 2: to be my relationship with God.
[2:45] Speaker 1: As opposed to what I have or what I was doing.
[2:49] Speaker 2: And once he took everything and stripped it down, see,
[2:53] Speaker 2: each time I got it back, I had to go
[2:55] Speaker 2: to him to get it back. Every time I lost it,
[2:59] Speaker 2: I had to go to God to get it back.
[3:02] Speaker 1: Every single time. I ain't never crawled back by myself.
[3:06] Speaker 2: I ain't never got up out the hole, dusted myself
[3:09] Speaker 2: off by myself. I never got carried across the burning
[3:14] Speaker 2: sand by myself. You do none of this by yourself, dawg.
[3:19] Speaker 2: You don't recover from cancer by yourself.
[3:23] Speaker 1: That ain't you. That's God, man.
[3:27] Speaker 2: Every time I fell, I needed him to get back up.
[3:32] Speaker 2: So then it finally dawned on me as I got older,
[3:35] Speaker 2: hey Steve, when you gonna stop being stupid? Why don't
[3:39] Speaker 2: you stay with God when ain't nothing wrong. Why don't
[3:45] Speaker 2: you stick around with God when it's going good? You
[3:49] Speaker 2: ever thought about trying that? Instead of all the time
[3:53] Speaker 2: waiting until it completely fell apart, now you want to
[3:56] Speaker 2: go to God.
[3:57] Speaker 1: Now he got to show you who he is.
[4:00] Speaker 2: How many times, Steve, he got to take everything from
[4:03] Speaker 2: you for you to understand what he want from you?
[4:07] Speaker 1: How many times he got to take it? Well, twice. Twice.
[4:12] Speaker 2: Now I'm at this stage where I can't do that
[4:15] Speaker 2: no more. I done got smart now. So my relationship
[4:19] Speaker 2: with God is on a permanent basis, good or bad,
[4:24] Speaker 2: sink or swim, smiling or crying. I'm his and he mine.
[4:31] Speaker 2: I'm going to tell you something, man. I'm going through
[4:33] Speaker 2: something right now. I'm talking about really, really major. And
[4:39] Speaker 2: I had a friend of mine. lost something, lost a
[4:43] Speaker 2: contract that was critical to him. And the text I
[4:47] Speaker 2: sent him was quite simple. I said, hey man, keep
[4:51] Speaker 2: your head up and be watchful and watch and see
[4:56] Speaker 2: what God is about to do in your life. And
[4:59] Speaker 2: he was crying about this situation, man. And that was
[5:02] Speaker 2: my text to him. My next text to him was,
[5:07] Speaker 2: I told you. My next text to him, was I
[5:11] Speaker 2: told you. But now that same advice I give out,
[5:17] Speaker 2: I got to use it right now. Because something major
[5:22] Speaker 2: is transpiring in my life right now. And in the
[5:28] Speaker 2: words of Rudyard Kipling, in the words of the stanza
[5:32] Speaker 2: of one of my favorite poems, If, and one of
[5:37] Speaker 2: the stanzas says, if you can make one heap of
[5:39] Speaker 2: all your winnings, And risk it all on one turn
[5:43] Speaker 2: of pitch and toss. Lose and start again at your beginnings.
[5:49] Speaker 2: And never once breathe a word about your loss. And
[5:54] Speaker 2: there's a part in there that says if you can
[5:56] Speaker 2: stoop and build them up again with worn out tools.
[6:03] Speaker 2: And you just don't breathe a word about your loss. Man,
[6:07] Speaker 2: that's major to me. So I don't even tell people
[6:10] Speaker 2: when I'm losing no more. I just wait on God
[6:12] Speaker 2: to bring me through. Then when I get through, then
[6:14] Speaker 2: I'm going to tell you that story. I got a
[6:16] Speaker 2: story to tell, boy. Y'all ain't going to believe this.
[6:19] Speaker 2: God is good, man. But God is good because I got.
[6:22] Speaker 1: Good with him through the good and the bad. That
[6:24] Speaker 1: was the best decision I made. Must be legal U.S.
