[0:00] Speaker 1: Here we are, last break of the day on this Friday.
[0:04] Speaker 2: We made it. We made it. Thank you to our audience,
[0:07] Speaker 2: as always, to the Steve Harvey Nation. Junior, you have
[0:10] Speaker 2: a question for Steve on the way out? Yeah. Unc,
[0:13] Speaker 2: let me ask you about this, Unc, because, you know,
[0:15] Speaker 2: I think you're great. And, Unc, it's okay for everybody
[0:18] Speaker 2: to be great? Can everybody just be great? No, everybody's
[0:22] Speaker 2: not going to be great, Junior. No, it's not going
[0:25] Speaker 2: to happen.
[0:26] Speaker 1: Everybody's not going to be great because great comes with
[0:29] Speaker 1: a cost. Everybody, everybody don't want to pay the cost.
[0:33] Speaker 1: You know, I know a lot of people started out
[0:36] Speaker 1: to be great, but then the cost and they stopped,
[0:41] Speaker 1: you know, so no, everybody's not going to be great.
[0:43] Speaker 2: And it's OK. And it's OK. It depends on your
[0:46] Speaker 2: definition of greatness.
[0:48] Speaker 1: But if you if your greatness is comparing yourself to
[0:51] Speaker 1: somebody else, you're going to be in a world of trouble.
[0:54] Speaker 1: You're going to be in a world of trouble, man.
[0:57] Speaker 1: if you're trying to make your greatness compared to somebody else,
[1:00] Speaker 1: because your path is not, you're not going to ever
[1:04] Speaker 1: get the same path. You know, no two people get
[1:07] Speaker 1: the exact same set of circumstances. It's just like, look, man, no,
[1:12] Speaker 1: no two people have the same, uh, um, um, fingerprint
[1:16] Speaker 1: because God made us uniquely us and our path in
[1:20] Speaker 1: life is uniquely ours, you know? So no, man, um,
[1:26] Speaker 1: Don't compare yourself to others. Just go on and be
[1:28] Speaker 1: your own version of greatness. I would hope that everybody
[1:32] Speaker 1: would want to be the best version of themselves that
[1:34] Speaker 1: they could possibly be. That's the ultimate. So if you
[1:39] Speaker 1: want to be the teacher of the year, win it.
[1:42] Speaker 1: You know, if you want to be employee of the month,
[1:44] Speaker 1: win it. You know, if you want to get the
[1:48] Speaker 1: salesman of the year, go for it. You want to
[1:51] Speaker 1: climb the corporate ladder, be about it. You want to
[1:55] Speaker 1: be the first person in your family to become supervisor?
[1:58] Speaker 2: Man, live it.
[2:00] Speaker 1: But go be the greatest version of you that you
[2:02] Speaker 1: can possibly be. That should be everybody's goal. But sad
[2:06] Speaker 1: to say, there are still people who won't do that.
[2:10] Speaker 1: Let's take the comparison off the table. There are still
[2:13] Speaker 1: people who will not go and be the best version
[2:16] Speaker 1: of themselves.
[2:18] Speaker 2: You see it all the time. Look, man, the thing.
[2:21] Speaker 1: God did to us that was really, really cool was
[2:25] Speaker 1: God gave all of us the power of choice.
[2:29] Speaker 2: We get to decide. Look, birds, when they're born, birds
[2:32] Speaker 2: have to be birds.
[2:34] Speaker 1: They have to live in a nest for a while,
[2:36] Speaker 1: and they get put out the nest or whatever, and
[2:39] Speaker 1: birds have to go fly. And birds eat insects, other birds, worms, meat.
[2:48] Speaker 1: Some birds are hunters, falcons, eagles, hawks. You know, they
[2:53] Speaker 1: eat wildlife. But they are birds. Dogs, no matter what
[2:59] Speaker 1: breed they are, they steal dogs. And they live the
[3:03] Speaker 1: dog's life. We are the only animal, the only creature
[3:07] Speaker 1: that God created that he gave the power of choice
[3:11] Speaker 1: to because we are created in God's image. So the
[3:14] Speaker 1: beautiful thing about whoever we are, we get to choose
[3:19] Speaker 1: and we can make decisions about our life every day.
[3:23] Speaker 1: Black people don't have to marry black people. White people
[3:27] Speaker 1: don't have to marry white people. You get to choose.
[3:30] Speaker 1: Dogs have to be with other dogs.
[3:33] Speaker 2: No, man. No. We get to choose that.
[3:40] Speaker 1: So if you are unhappy with the direction of your life,
[3:45] Speaker 1: here's the caveat.
[3:48] Speaker 2: You, right now, can make a.
[3:51] Speaker 1: Decision that to change that and guess what you don't
[3:55] Speaker 1: need nobody's permission it's a beautiful thing God has given
[3:59] Speaker 1: us the power of choice because once you get sick
[4:03] Speaker 1: of being whatever version of you you've become you can
[4:07] Speaker 1: make the decision to change that there was a period
[4:09] Speaker 1: in my life man I was just sick of me
[4:13] Speaker 1: I was sick of the version I was and I
[4:16] Speaker 1: decided man I got to be a better version of
[4:19] Speaker 1: me because I'm with me every day And I was
[4:23] Speaker 1: sick of the person I was being with. I woke
[4:26] Speaker 1: up to this dude every morning. This is who I'm
[4:29] Speaker 1: riding with. This is my dog ride or die. Man,
[4:33] Speaker 1: let me change this cat right here. Because this dude
[4:36] Speaker 1: right here, he got to do better. And I made
[4:38] Speaker 1: the decision.
[4:39] Speaker 2: And I did.
[4:40] Speaker 1: And that's the beautiful thing of it, man. God gave
[4:44] Speaker 1: us the power of choice.
[4:46] Speaker 2: You get to decide. So now.
[4:49] Speaker 1: When your life ain't going the way you want to,
[4:51] Speaker 1: quit blaming other people. Quit looking around for some external
[4:56] Speaker 1: reasoning and all this here. What about you? Because you
[5:02] Speaker 1: get to decide. You can yay or nay. You can
[5:05] Speaker 1: pull the trigger on the idea or not. You can
[5:07] Speaker 1: begin or you can procrastinate. You can look at it
[5:10] Speaker 1: negatively or you can look at it positively. You can
[5:14] Speaker 1: go the right way or you can go the wrong way.
[5:19] Speaker 1: You can buckle down, get yourself an education or whatever
[5:22] Speaker 1: you need. You can buckle down, get yourself a career,
[5:24] Speaker 1: get yourself a craft, get yourself a skill, and go
[5:27] Speaker 1: on about your business and make that money. Or you
[5:30] Speaker 1: can go for this quick money. You can go and
[5:31] Speaker 1: get yourself some drugs. You can start slinging. And I
[5:36] Speaker 1: tell you right now, man, you're going to wish you hadn't.
[5:39] Speaker 1: Everybody I know sell drugs at one point, wish they hadn't.
[5:47] Speaker 2: Where was I at? Where was I at, man? Oh, InvestFest.
[5:53] Speaker 1: I bet I met Big Meech, the real Big Meech,
[5:57] Speaker 1: from Black Mafia Family.
[6:01] Speaker 2: What's the show? BMF. BMF. I met the real Big Meech.
[6:06] Speaker 2: Cool dude. Loved him right away. He said, man, I'm
[6:09] Speaker 2: giving my life together, Steve. Right on.
[6:13] Speaker 1: He made a new choice, because that old choice got
[6:16] Speaker 1: him in prison. The new choice, keeping him out. Shout
[6:20] Speaker 1: out to Big Meech, man. Pleasure meeting you that day.
[6:23] Speaker 1: Y'all have a great day today. Talk to God today.
[6:25] Speaker 1: He would absolutely love to hear from you. And that
[6:28] Speaker 1: too is a choice.
