[0:00] Speaker 1: Wow. Happy birthday, Carla. Have a great rest of your day.
[0:05] Speaker 1: And thank you to our listeners.
[0:07] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[0:07] Speaker 1: For always, always listening to us. Steve Harvey Nation. We
[0:10] Speaker 1: appreciate you, Steve.
[0:13] Speaker 2: Hey, my closing remarks today is because Shirley told me
[0:16] Speaker 2: earlier in the show that I had gone viral and
[0:20] Speaker 2: I went for what? And she said your stance on
[0:24] Speaker 2: talking to young men about.
[0:27] Speaker 1: Women shouldn't bring something to them. What are women bringing
[0:30] Speaker 1: to the table?
[0:31] Speaker 2: Because, you know, I see that online a lot. You know,
[0:34] Speaker 2: what does a woman bring to the table? That's a
[0:36] Speaker 2: fair question to ask. What does a woman bring to
[0:40] Speaker 2: the table? That's a very, very fair question to ask
[0:43] Speaker 2: young men. But I want you to hear where I'm
[0:46] Speaker 2: coming from. So for all of you that say Steve
[0:49] Speaker 2: coming with that old fashioned line of thinking and all
[0:52] Speaker 2: like that. Yes, it's old fashioned. It's the way manhood
[0:56] Speaker 2: was defined and shaped. It will always be the same way. Look, man,
[1:01] Speaker 2: I'm sorry that nobody didn't tell it to you, but
[1:05] Speaker 2: that don't change the truth. My father always told me,
[1:08] Speaker 2: he says, son, if you tell somebody the truth and
[1:11] Speaker 2: they don't believe you, that ain't your fault. See, and
[1:16] Speaker 2: it's just brothers. I'm not coming at you with no disrespect.
[1:20] Speaker 2: But I'm coming at you with what the requirements of
[1:24] Speaker 2: manhood are. This is not Steve Harvey making them up.
[1:29] Speaker 2: I didn't make this up, man. And I'm not saying
[1:33] Speaker 2: if you don't do this, you ain't. I'm just telling
[1:35] Speaker 2: you what the rules of manhood are. We have two
[1:39] Speaker 2: major components. That is the responsibility of a man. To
[1:44] Speaker 2: protect and to provide. Those two things are non-negotiables. You
[1:51] Speaker 2: don't get to debate that, man. It's just not, brothers.
[1:55] Speaker 2: I'm sorry. Your job is to protect and provide. Those
[2:00] Speaker 2: two things must happen. Now, if you're a great communicator,
[2:03] Speaker 2: that's a bonus. You know, if you're extra loving and
[2:07] Speaker 2: extra kind, that's a bonus. Now, of course, you know,
[2:11] Speaker 2: we want to be polite. We want to be courteous.
[2:13] Speaker 2: We want to be kind to our people, our family,
[2:16] Speaker 2: our children, our girls, our wives.
[2:18] Speaker 1: I got all that.
[2:20] Speaker 2: But your two obligations you have to do is protect
[2:23] Speaker 2: and provide. Now, the fact that you haven't heard that,
[2:26] Speaker 2: that don't make it not so. And brothers, you you
[2:31] Speaker 2: cannot move the goalposts just because it's something you've decided
[2:36] Speaker 2: in 2026 moving into 2027 that you don't want to do.
[2:41] Speaker 2: It will never be OK for a man not to
[2:45] Speaker 2: protect and provide.
[2:47] Speaker 1: I'm sorry. That ain't Steve. I'm just telling you, man.
[2:51] Speaker 2: Unc, you old.
[2:52] Speaker 1: Yeah, man.
[2:53] Speaker 2: And hopefully one day you'll get old too. Old is
[2:56] Speaker 2: the goal. Stop criticizing people for being old. The whole
[3:01] Speaker 2: goal is to get old. See, man, y'all be saying
[3:05] Speaker 2: some real shallow sugar honey iced tea without no thought
[3:09] Speaker 2: behind it. And then you get mad at us, man,
[3:12] Speaker 2: because we live a certain way or we have a
[3:14] Speaker 2: certain belief. Because the goalpost was not allowed to be
[3:18] Speaker 2: moved when I kicked. When I stepped up to the
[3:22] Speaker 2: plate to have a family, when I stepped up to
[3:24] Speaker 2: the plate to have children, when I stepped up to
[3:27] Speaker 2: the wedding vows, all that, they didn't move the goalpost.
[3:32] Speaker 1: Now, I didn't do it right, but they didn't move
[3:34] Speaker 1: the goalpost.
[3:36] Speaker 2: So when I say you keep asking all these women
[3:39] Speaker 2: what they bring to.
[3:39] Speaker 1: The table, You got to have a table.
[3:44] Speaker 2: Dog, women are looking for men who make them feel safe.
[3:51] Speaker 2: Women want a man to make them feel protected. Women
[3:57] Speaker 2: would love to have a man that would make.
[3:59] Speaker 1: Them feel honored, loved, cherished. Women want that. What's wrong
[4:06] Speaker 1: with that? Why wouldn't that get to be old fashioned?
[4:10] Speaker 2: Come on, young homies. Quit moving the goalposts, man. So
[4:15] Speaker 2: it can be easy for you. This sugar honey iced
[4:19] Speaker 2: tea ain't easy.
[4:22] Speaker 1: It's not.
[4:23] Speaker 2: It's called manhood. That's what it is, man. It don't
[4:28] Speaker 2: come with a whole lot of thank yous. Father's Day
[4:32] Speaker 2: ain't the same as Mother's Day. There's a reason for that.
[4:36] Speaker 1: Get over it. Quit tripping. So now you want to
[4:40] Speaker 1: go 50-50 and everything. Okay, cool, go ahead.
[4:43] Speaker 2: Okay, that's the way a woman, I make $ 100, 000, a
[4:46] Speaker 2: woman need to make $ 100, 000. That's foolishness, but okay. That's
[4:50] Speaker 2: what you want to live by.
[4:51] Speaker 1: Go ahead. You make $ 100, 000, she make $ 100, 000. Okay, cool.
[4:55] Speaker 1: You pay half the bills, she pay half the bills. Okay, cool.
[4:59] Speaker 1: This is your money when you get paid, that's her
[5:01] Speaker 1: money when she get paid. Okay, cool.
[5:03] Speaker 2: That way y'all want to try to live, go ahead.
[5:07] Speaker 2: Let me know how that works out for you. And
[5:09] Speaker 2: y'all have joined a union to be as one. Y'all
[5:12] Speaker 2: trying to have a family. Y'all trying to go somewhere.
[5:15] Speaker 2: I want to see how y'all go in the same
[5:17] Speaker 2: direction with all them separate ways. I want to see
[5:20] Speaker 2: how that works. Just show me how that work, man.
[5:23] Speaker 2: Because I ain't seen it work yet. Now, you decide, hey,
[5:27] Speaker 2: let's raise a family. I want a little boy look
[5:31] Speaker 2: just like me. I'm going to name him after me.
[5:33] Speaker 2: And I want you to take my name.
[5:36] Speaker 1: Well, guess what?
[5:36] Speaker 2: When she get pregnant, I don't know if you've been
[5:39] Speaker 2: paying attention, man, but it gets real big for her.
[5:42] Speaker 2: It's a daunting accomplishment, man, to go out and have
[5:46] Speaker 2: a child. Where the 50-50 at on that? When it's
[5:52] Speaker 2: time to bring this child into the world, where is the.
[5:54] Speaker 1: 50-50 at then? Because it looked like 90-10 to me.
[5:59] Speaker 2: So I'm sorry, man. It ain't 50-50. You got to
[6:03] Speaker 2: have a table. And your obligation is to protect and provide.
[6:07] Speaker 2: That will never change, man. And I'm sorry Uncle Steve
[6:09] Speaker 2: had to tell it to you. That's just the way
[6:12] Speaker 2: it is, brothers.
[6:13] Speaker 1: Period.
[6:14] Speaker 2: Stand up because it ain't finna change. Those are my
[6:17] Speaker 2: closing remarks. Y'all have a great day.
