[0:00] Speaker 1: All right, guys, here we are. Our last break of
[0:03] Speaker 1: the day. We got to say thank you to our audience,
[0:06] Speaker 1: to the Steve Harvey Nation for listening.
[0:07] Speaker 2: Thank you.
[0:08] Speaker 1: Thank you.
[0:09] Speaker 2: Thank you. That's right.
[0:10] Speaker 1: Junior, you got a question for Steve?
[0:13] Speaker 2: I sure do.
[0:14] Speaker 3: You know, I know you dealt with this in your lifetime.
[0:16] Speaker 3: And we got people who doubt you, who said you
[0:19] Speaker 3: was never going to do this.
[0:20] Speaker 2: You never do that.
[0:22] Speaker 3: You was never going to make it this far. So
[0:24] Speaker 3: how do you handle doubters in your life? And then
[0:27] Speaker 3: what's some examples that you've had happen to you in
[0:29] Speaker 3: your life with doubters?
[0:31] Speaker 2: Well, let me tell you something, man. The older I've gotten,
[0:33] Speaker 2: the less effective they are to me. But doubters, especially
[0:39] Speaker 2: when you first start out, you have to be very
[0:41] Speaker 2: careful about doubters because they can be so debilitating. They
[0:48] Speaker 2: can be so spiritual breaking. they can be so detrimental
[0:53] Speaker 2: to your progress. Just a simple doubter. That's because when
[1:00] Speaker 2: you start sharing visions and dreams and aspirations with other
[1:06] Speaker 2: people that are not, especially who are not like-minded, you
[1:11] Speaker 2: can prepare yourself for the doubters. Oh, I've had doubters
[1:16] Speaker 2: my whole life. And it's really troubling because It's always
[1:23] Speaker 2: somebody's opinion that you care deeply about. Always. In the beginning,
[1:28] Speaker 2: that's what it is. Because when you first come up
[1:31] Speaker 2: with your first bright idea of becoming successful or changing
[1:35] Speaker 2: your path or whatever you want to do, the only
[1:37] Speaker 2: people you have to tell it to is your family
[1:40] Speaker 2: and friends. You know, so when you go in there
[1:46] Speaker 2: and you tell your family and friends... People who you love,
[1:50] Speaker 2: have relationships with, and you care about their opinion. And
[1:53] Speaker 2: you tell them what you're about to embark on. And
[1:57] Speaker 2: they have doubts about it. It affects you, man. And
[2:02] Speaker 2: it freezes you. I don't see how you're going to
[2:05] Speaker 2: do that. Wait a minute now. Tell me you're going
[2:08] Speaker 2: to do what now? Suppose that don't work. Oh, hold on. Wait, wait, wait.
[2:14] Speaker 2: So you're going to start selling what? No, nobody want that. Now,
[2:19] Speaker 2: here you go. This great idea you had, doubt comes
[2:24] Speaker 2: and it affects your confidence. But what I had to
[2:29] Speaker 2: learn quickly is if you want to kill a big dream,
[2:35] Speaker 2: all you have to do is tell it to a
[2:38] Speaker 2: small minded person and that dream is gone. Do you
[2:44] Speaker 2: know people, man, that no matter what you tell them,
[2:46] Speaker 2: they got a negative response to it? Do you have
[2:49] Speaker 2: people like that in your life? Why would you go
[2:51] Speaker 2: to them with anything positive when they always have a
[2:54] Speaker 2: negative response? See, I start watching people real close. If
[3:00] Speaker 2: you go to somebody with an idea and their only
[3:02] Speaker 2: thing is to tell you why it won't work, why
[3:04] Speaker 2: would you keep sharing ideas with them? Or if somebody
[3:08] Speaker 2: calls you and every time they call you, they want something.
[3:11] Speaker 2: They got something negative to say. Why would you answer
[3:14] Speaker 2: your phone? Man, you ever have people that always bring
[3:17] Speaker 2: you bad news? You no matter what is bad news.
[3:22] Speaker 2: These people are in your circle. You have to eliminate
[3:25] Speaker 2: people from your circle like that. Because if you let
[3:27] Speaker 2: them enter the circle, they're going to be who they are,
[3:30] Speaker 2: which is negative. And you don't need it when you
[3:34] Speaker 2: embark on a new idea. Whenever I come up with
[3:36] Speaker 2: a new idea and I tell it to my team,
[3:39] Speaker 2: I don't need you to tell me why it won't work.
[3:41] Speaker 2: You got one job. Y'all get started with this check
[3:45] Speaker 2: that I'm paying y'all and tell me how we can
[3:47] Speaker 2: make this happen. Don't tell me why it won't work.
[3:51] Speaker 2: I already know we're going to face challenges and troubles.
[3:55] Speaker 2: I already know we're going to face negativity. Because if
[3:58] Speaker 2: you want something, everything I've ever wanted was on the
[4:04] Speaker 2: other side of uncomfortable. You got to go through the
[4:07] Speaker 2: uncomfortable situation to get to the other side. So when
[4:11] Speaker 2: I explain an idea to me, I don't need you
[4:13] Speaker 2: telling me what can go wrong. I already know that.
[4:17] Speaker 2: Just tell me no matter what, if we keep doing this,
[4:20] Speaker 2: this is what we can win. And then let's get
[4:22] Speaker 2: to doing it. So you have to protect yourself from that.
[4:26] Speaker 2: And the best way to protect yourself from it is
[4:28] Speaker 2: to limit your circle of people that you share information with.
[4:32] Speaker 2: And you're going to have to make some tough decisions
[4:34] Speaker 2: about that. Because I'm telling you, it's going to mean
[4:38] Speaker 2: that you are going to have to reduce your friendship circle.
[4:42] Speaker 2: And then people that's in your family, you just got
[4:44] Speaker 2: to cut them loose with sharing their information. You can
[4:46] Speaker 2: still love them. You can still help them out. You
[4:49] Speaker 2: can still talk. You can go to family union. You
[4:50] Speaker 2: can be in the backyard at the barbecues. But we
[4:53] Speaker 2: can't do nothing together. I'm sorry. It's just too negative.
[5:00] Speaker 2: And the thing about negative people, when you listen to them,
[5:04] Speaker 2: it's all right with them. It's all right with them.
[5:09] Speaker 2: I got a partner, man, I grew up with, man.
[5:11] Speaker 2: Ain't got much of nothing. Yeah, man, you out there. Man,
[5:13] Speaker 2: they always talking about you on the internet, Steve. I
[5:16] Speaker 2: don't even see how you do that, man. See, what
[5:19] Speaker 2: I did was, man, when I lost that job, man,
[5:22] Speaker 2: I just cut back, cut back and made it work, man.
[5:27] Speaker 2: And then I ain't got to worry about all that.
[5:30] Speaker 2: So I didn't know what the cutback meant until I
[5:33] Speaker 2: found out he didn't have a cable. He don't have
[5:36] Speaker 2: a new car. He sold his new car, took the money,
[5:39] Speaker 2: bought a used car so he wouldn't have a note.
[5:42] Speaker 2: He on some benefit program now. He only buy what
[5:46] Speaker 2: he need. He don't buy nothing he want. Okay? Bro,
[5:51] Speaker 2: me and your conversation is going to be limited because
[5:54] Speaker 2: I don't think that way at all. But every time,
[5:57] Speaker 2: like just recently, I don't know how you do it, man.
[6:00] Speaker 2: Ain't no way in the world I want to be famous.
[6:02] Speaker 2: They be just talking about you. Okay. Thanks, man. Appreciate it. Hey,
[6:09] Speaker 2: call me sometime, man. Fly me out somewhere.
[6:12] Speaker 1: See you.
[6:13] Speaker 2: Okay, bro. So just be careful with the doubters because
[6:17] Speaker 2: they're out there. Reduce your circle of friends and you
[6:21] Speaker 2: can limit some of the doubt. That's just a suggestion.
[6:25] Speaker 2: Talk to God today. He'd absolutely love to hear from you.
