[0:13] Speaker 1: You won't miss a moment of the show. That's right.
[0:16] Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show. All right, Steve, take us out.
[0:20] Speaker 1: I was doing some thinking, especially with the midterms coming
[0:25] Speaker 1: up and just in general about life. But, you know,
[0:33] Speaker 1: I would want I would want to have a say
[0:36] Speaker 1: so in my life. I'm just not I've just never
[0:41] Speaker 1: been a person that didn't want to have a say
[0:45] Speaker 1: so in my life. I think that's really one of
[0:48] Speaker 1: the reasons, man, that really got me into comedy in
[0:51] Speaker 1: the first place. I just you know, when I was working,
[0:54] Speaker 1: I was a good employee when I worked. Especially at
[0:57] Speaker 1: Ford Motor Company. I remember one time, man, my supervisor
[1:01] Speaker 1: called the house. I was living with my parents because
[1:04] Speaker 1: I stayed there for six months after I flunked out
[1:06] Speaker 1: of college. And my supervisor called the house because they
[1:10] Speaker 1: needed somebody to come in and do a replacement. And
[1:16] Speaker 1: it was on a Saturday. And my father answered the phone.
[1:20] Speaker 1: And he said, yeah, hold on. Steve is here. He said,
[1:25] Speaker 1: excuse me, can I speak to you for a minute, Mr. Harvey?
[1:27] Speaker 1: He said, yes, sir. He said, I want to commend
[1:30] Speaker 1: you on raising such a fine young man because he
[1:32] Speaker 1: is a diligent hard worker. He said, that's how I
[1:36] Speaker 1: raise all my boys. And he put the man on
[1:39] Speaker 1: the phone and I went on in to work. I
[1:41] Speaker 1: have always put forth my best effort in everything I've
[1:47] Speaker 1: ever done. Now, the problem I had with my jobs
[1:51] Speaker 1: was I never met a person that I thought should
[1:57] Speaker 1: be in charge of me. That was my problem. All
[2:00] Speaker 1: of my supervisors and bosses, I never saw a reason
[2:05] Speaker 1: why they should be in charge of me. And I've
[2:10] Speaker 1: sought to be my own man as long as I
[2:15] Speaker 1: can remember. That has been the ultimate goal. And so
[2:19] Speaker 1: I've always wanted to be a person that had a
[2:21] Speaker 1: say so in my life. Now, listen, if you work
[2:24] Speaker 1: a job, this is not a disparaging remark against anybody
[2:27] Speaker 1: that works a job. That's not what I'm talking about.
[2:31] Speaker 1: But even if you work a job, don't you want
[2:33] Speaker 1: to have a say so in your life? Don't you
[2:37] Speaker 1: want to be able to pick your vacation days? Don't
[2:39] Speaker 1: you want to be able to decide where you want
[2:41] Speaker 1: to go? Don't you want to be able to vote
[2:44] Speaker 1: on policies down there at the company? Don't you want
[2:47] Speaker 1: to sit in on the union meetings? Don't you something?
[2:49] Speaker 1: Don't you want to climb the corporate ladder? Don't you
[2:52] Speaker 1: want to have a say-so in what your paycheck look like?
[2:57] Speaker 1: I did. I've always wanted to have that. And all that, man,
[3:02] Speaker 1: leads up to these midterm elections. Don't you want to
[3:05] Speaker 1: have a say so? I can't believe what this administration
[3:10] Speaker 1: has done for two years. It's unbelievable. That Project 2025
[3:18] Speaker 1: has taken a stronghold in this administration and everything in
[3:22] Speaker 1: Project 2025 that he said he wasn't aware of and
[3:26] Speaker 1: he didn't know the guy that wrote Project 25 when
[3:29] Speaker 1: there's pictures of him on the jet with the guy.
[3:32] Speaker 1: All of it. And they doing it all. They got
[3:36] Speaker 1: rid of the Civil Rights Act. They're getting rid of
[3:38] Speaker 1: the Voting Rights Act. They got rid of History Act.
[3:44] Speaker 1: In schools in some states, they've gotten rid of names
[3:47] Speaker 1: off buildings. They've rescinded DEI. They've done everything they can.
[3:51] Speaker 1: They done ripped up Medicare. Your health care cost is high.
[3:56] Speaker 1: They starting wars without getting congressional approval. They just doing
[4:01] Speaker 1: what they want to do. Project 2025 is designed for
[4:06] Speaker 1: white supremacy people. To get back in charge of this
[4:11] Speaker 1: thing because the fear is black and brown is going
[4:14] Speaker 1: to take over. Now, well, let me explain something. Blacks
[4:17] Speaker 1: and browns ain't trying to take over. Blacks and browns
[4:21] Speaker 1: just want their share. See, you can't just keep everything.
[4:26] Speaker 1: You just can't be in charge of all of it.
[4:30] Speaker 1: This ain't yours. Why do we constantly have to remind
[4:34] Speaker 1: you that we built this thing? That we are the
[4:37] Speaker 1: reason you exist. If you have, listen to me, if
[4:42] Speaker 1: you for three to four hundred years create free labor,
[4:48] Speaker 1: do you know the business that you can create? When
[4:53] Speaker 1: you build a country of cotton and tobacco and infrastructure
[5:02] Speaker 1: and wells and fields and If you farming and you
[5:10] Speaker 1: build a country on that and you're trapping all it
[5:15] Speaker 1: is how you built this country. You did it with
[5:20] Speaker 1: free labor. For hundreds of years of free labor. And
[5:28] Speaker 1: not only did you do that, but the labor that
[5:31] Speaker 1: you bought over here, you bought and sold it. Wait
[5:36] Speaker 1: a minute. Hold on. Wait a minute now. Wait a minute.
[5:40] Speaker 1: Not only did you get free labor, you took the
[5:44] Speaker 1: same people who provided free labor and sold them because
[5:47] Speaker 1: you said you owned them and you made that money too. What?
[5:52] Speaker 1: You mean you get the free labor and then you
[5:56] Speaker 1: get to sell the people that provide you the free
[5:58] Speaker 1: labor and make money on that? And then when they
[6:00] Speaker 1: have children, you got a farm system? We tired of that, man.
[6:06] Speaker 1: You don't want to have a say so? Get your
[6:08] Speaker 1: ignorant behind to the pole and quit sitting in your
[6:11] Speaker 1: life without making decisions in it. You're letting these people, man,
[6:16] Speaker 1: just do like they want to do it. I'm sick
[6:18] Speaker 1: of it myself. I'm sick of it. Asking y'all to
[6:22] Speaker 1: treat me fairly. Man, miss me with that. Y'all have
[6:27] Speaker 1: a great day today. Talk to God. He loves you.
