[0:00] Speaker 1: Here we are guys, last break of the day on
[0:03] Speaker 1: this Wednesday, and we thank you so much for joining
[0:06] Speaker 1: us every single day. Junior, you got a question for
[0:09] Speaker 1: Steve to take us out.
[0:10] Speaker 2: I do uh, you know, with so many people just
[0:13] Speaker 2: going going with anything, just I see this, I think
[0:16] Speaker 2: we should do this or do that. But I want
[0:18] Speaker 2: you to talk to us and explain to us about
[0:21] Speaker 2: about integrity. How do you feel about integrity in situations
[0:25] Speaker 2: that we see today on television and things that you
[0:28] Speaker 2: see trends in and then how you view it?
[0:33] Speaker 1: Well, you know, because we live in such a see me,
[0:38] Speaker 1: do me, watch me society. Now, everybody's content creators. Everybody's
[0:45] Speaker 1: trying to do something to trend. Everybody's trying to come
[0:48] Speaker 1: up with the next ice bucket challenge. You know, it's
[0:52] Speaker 1: just people trying to capitalize on getting clicks views all this.
[1:03] Speaker 1: It's like fashion. Everything that's in style ain't for you.
[1:09] Speaker 2: You.
[1:10] Speaker 1: Everybody don't have a body type for every fashion statement
[1:13] Speaker 1: that comes out, you know you. And the way you
[1:17] Speaker 1: get around this is to thine own self, be true.
[1:23] Speaker 1: Look you, look you you You can try to fool
[1:26] Speaker 1: somebody else but I but but get out of the
[1:29] Speaker 1: fool your self business. At least be true to you.
[1:34] Speaker 1: I I would say, get out of the fool anybody business.
[1:37] Speaker 1: But you really can't fool yourself because if you fool yourself, man,
[1:42] Speaker 1: you gonna make all kinds of or wayward decisions. Skinny
[1:46] Speaker 1: jeans was the thing for a while. Why would I
[1:49] Speaker 1: buy a pair of skinny jeans and I'm not skinny?
[1:52] Speaker 1: It don't make no sense, it it It just don't
[1:55] Speaker 1: make no sense. Why would I wear a leopard skin
[2:03] Speaker 1: jumpsuit skin tight? If you don't have a body for that,
[2:08] Speaker 1: Why would you have that on? You know, and women
[2:12] Speaker 1: do it a lot. Oh that's sexy on her, but
[2:17] Speaker 1: it may not be flattering to you, at least to
[2:19] Speaker 1: your own self. Be true when you look in the mirror. Now,
[2:23] Speaker 1: if you're not true to yourself. Do you know there
[2:27] Speaker 1: are people that no matter how they look, they look
[2:29] Speaker 1: in the mirror and they go coo, I got it
[2:32] Speaker 1: going on, And that's how they feel about theirself. Now,
[2:36] Speaker 1: guess what. I'm a proponent of feeling good about who
[2:39] Speaker 1: you are. I think that a person should feel good
[2:41] Speaker 1: about themselves. But don't fool yourself into making things cause
[2:46] Speaker 1: you feel good about yourself. You look good to everybody too,
[2:49] Speaker 1: because that ain't gonna be the case. And when you
[2:52] Speaker 1: go out inside with this stuff on, and you are
[2:55] Speaker 1: open to public scrutiny and criticism, and I see it
[2:59] Speaker 1: all the time. You know how you were raised to
[3:02] Speaker 1: do the right thing. And just cause you see some
[3:04] Speaker 1: guys getting away with the wrong thing, don't mean you
[3:06] Speaker 1: ought to do it. Yeah, you can make money selling dope,
[3:10] Speaker 1: but you gonna go to jail. You gonna do sometime,
[3:14] Speaker 1: and you might get killed. You're gonna pay for that.
[3:17] Speaker 1: The prison is full of people sell some drugs. Do
[3:22] Speaker 1: you know that. I've read a statistic somewhere to say
[3:25] Speaker 1: eighty percent of prison inmates are in there for some
[3:28] Speaker 1: drug related offense, whether it was using, selling, stealing to
[3:33] Speaker 1: get it, line distribution, traveling, trafficing, something like that. I've
[3:40] Speaker 1: read that. So you know, look, what I've tried to
[3:44] Speaker 1: do is understand who I was. You know, I owe
[3:47] Speaker 1: this to my mother because my mother, when I was
[3:50] Speaker 1: fifteen years old, she told me, she says, Steve, you
[3:52] Speaker 1: should read the Book of Proverbs. Proverbs in the Bible
[3:56] Speaker 1: is the book of wisdom and understanding. And I'm really
[3:58] Speaker 1: hot on this subject right now, because I just did
[4:00] Speaker 1: something really cool and they'll be finished with it tomorrow.
[4:04] Speaker 1: I'll pick it up. But I did something really cool
[4:07] Speaker 1: to honor my mother, and I'll explain the story to
[4:10] Speaker 1: you all once I get it done. When I post it,
[4:13] Speaker 1: I think i'll post it. I probably won't anyway, man,
[4:19] Speaker 1: I just ain't good at posting. Man. But anyway, she
[4:23] Speaker 1: told me about the Book of Proverbs. Cause Book of Proverbs,
[4:26] Speaker 1: book of wisdom and understanding. And so at fifteen years old,
[4:29] Speaker 1: and I kid you not, I started asking God for
[4:32] Speaker 1: wisdom and understanding because it's more powerful than silver and gold.
[4:39] Speaker 1: It's more important. It will keep you when you are
[4:41] Speaker 1: all out of silver and have no gold. Wisdom and
[4:46] Speaker 1: understanding is important, man, And I praise God for that
[4:49] Speaker 1: because he did give me a level of wisdom and understanding.
[4:53] Speaker 1: Am I the wisest person on earth?
[4:55] Speaker 2: No?
[4:55] Speaker 1: Am I the most understanding personal? No. The wisdom and
[5:00] Speaker 1: that understand that I have has served me well in
[5:03] Speaker 1: my life. When I've gone against it, I've paid the price.
[5:07] Speaker 1: And one of the things that I learned from the
[5:09] Speaker 1: Book of Proverbs was to stay true to who I was.
[5:13] Speaker 1: That wisdom and understanding makes you understand that everything that's
[5:16] Speaker 1: out there ain't for you. Quit blowing in the wind, man,
[5:21] Speaker 1: Quit going with the flow. You ain't water. So I
[5:25] Speaker 1: just go with the flow. I got a friend of
[5:27] Speaker 1: mine that's fifty where he was he's older now, but
[5:31] Speaker 1: when he was fifty five years old, he got two
[5:34] Speaker 1: women pregnant at the same time. You know what he
[5:38] Speaker 1: told me, Man, I'm just going with the flow of
[5:41] Speaker 1: the universe. Hey, dog, you need to get out the universe.
[5:45] Speaker 1: You need to start using your brain because something wrong
[5:48] Speaker 1: with you. You fifty five and it's two young girls
[5:52] Speaker 1: pregnant because of you. Now, I don't know what. You
[5:55] Speaker 1: can't blame that on the universe because you out here
[5:57] Speaker 1: being something you not. You ain't a player. You an
[6:01] Speaker 1: old fool. I don't know where my closing remarks got
[6:05] Speaker 1: off track at, but he did. Hell, I have a
[6:08] Speaker 1: going today. I will talk to God. He loved to
[6:12] Speaker 1: hear from you. Be true to yourself, y'all. Hey, don't
