[0:00] Speaker 1: Uh-huh, I sure will. Good morning, everybody. You all listen
[0:08] Speaker 1: to the voice. Come on, dig me now. One and only,
[0:12] Speaker 1: Steve Harvey. Got a radio show.
[0:14] Speaker 2: Uh-huh.
[0:15] Speaker 1: Steve Harvey got a radio show. Yeah, man.
[0:18] Speaker 2: Boy, boy, boy, boy. Man, God has been good to me.
[0:23] Speaker 2: I can't even. I can't even put it into words, man.
[0:28] Speaker 2: But I try, though. I try, I try, I try.
[0:31] Speaker 2: God does things for me just right on time. He's
[0:34] Speaker 2: so cool with it. And I happen to run across
[0:39] Speaker 2: Joel Osteen on television, like I often do all the time.
[0:44] Speaker 2: And I was sitting there and he had such a
[0:49] Speaker 2: timely message for me. A part of it was something
[0:52] Speaker 2: that I've said oftentimes about. <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL>
[1:19] Speaker 2: He said that when you get closer to it, the
[1:23] Speaker 2: more difficult it becomes.
[1:26] Speaker 1: Did you hear me?
[1:27] Speaker 2: He said, the closer you get to what it is
[1:30] Speaker 2: you want or you need or you have to have
[1:34] Speaker 2: or you would love to be, it gets a little
[1:38] Speaker 2: bit more difficult when you get closer. He told this
[1:43] Speaker 2: story that's in the Bible that I'd never heard before.
[1:48] Speaker 2: This is what he said. He said there was a
[1:50] Speaker 2: man who was paralyzed and he had heard that Jesus
[1:58] Speaker 2: was speaking at a house. And so he wanted to
[2:03] Speaker 2: get there. So he convinced four of his friends to
[2:08] Speaker 2: put him on a stretcher and carry him for hours
[2:14] Speaker 2: to get to this house where Jesus was speaking. He
[2:19] Speaker 2: said that along the way, these friends said that that
[2:26] Speaker 2: they went along because he has so much faith that
[2:29] Speaker 2: if he could just get to him, it could be
[2:32] Speaker 2: better that he could, if he could just get over
[2:35] Speaker 2: there and he could.
[2:36] Speaker 1: See him, that he might have a shot at getting healed.
[2:39] Speaker 2: And so he said they took out along the way
[2:42] Speaker 2: and they walked and they walked and they walked for hours.
[2:45] Speaker 2: And then when they got there, the house was completely
[2:50] Speaker 2: filled with people. There was absolute, it was packed wall
[2:54] Speaker 2: to wall. There was absolutely no way for the men
[2:57] Speaker 2: to get him on that stretcher in to see Jesus.
[3:01] Speaker 2: This is a story that, uh, Joel Osteen said is
[3:05] Speaker 2: in the Bible and we was telling it. No, I'm
[3:07] Speaker 2: just repeating the parts of it. I got gathered. And
[3:11] Speaker 2: so he said, they sat there and they went, wow, man,
[3:14] Speaker 2: we walked all this way and it's full.
[3:18] Speaker 1: And we can't get there.
[3:20] Speaker 2: He said, and then the guy with the affliction told
[3:25] Speaker 2: the four men, if you get up on the roof
[3:29] Speaker 2: and cut a hole in it and lower me down,
[3:35] Speaker 2: I bet I could see him then and I bet
[3:37] Speaker 2: it'll be all right. Now, he then said, you must
[3:42] Speaker 2: imagine how these four men must have felt.
[3:45] Speaker 1: When you carry somebody for hours.
[3:50] Speaker 2: On the way they had to carry, some cloth connected
[3:52] Speaker 2: by a couple of sticks, said the men's shoulders had
[3:55] Speaker 2: to be bruised, had to have deep gouges in them,
[3:59] Speaker 2: not cuts, but just indentations where they had carried the
[4:03] Speaker 2: weight of this grown man for so many hours. And
[4:05] Speaker 2: they looked at him in disbelief, like, man, what are
[4:08] Speaker 2: you talking about? We done walked all this far. He said, yeah,
[4:11] Speaker 2: but if you get up on that roof and you
[4:13] Speaker 2: cut a hole in it, And lower me down.
[4:17] Speaker 1: I could see him. And when he see me. It'll
[4:20] Speaker 1: be alright.
[4:22] Speaker 2: After sitting there. And imploring the men. They went up
[4:26] Speaker 2: and did just that. And in the story. That Joel
[4:30] Speaker 2: Osteen said. The man was healed. But the point he
[4:34] Speaker 2: was making was. He was saying that. The closer you get.
[4:39] Speaker 2: To what it is you really want. The more difficult
[4:42] Speaker 2: it's going to become. But you've got to push through.
[4:46] Speaker 2: So if you don't push through, you never know. So
[4:48] Speaker 2: you can't get right to the answer. And because it
[4:51] Speaker 2: gets really difficult, start creating those little sayings that we
[4:55] Speaker 2: got as people. Well, I guess it wasn't meant to be.
[5:00] Speaker 2: I guess it wasn't the Lord's will. No, man, I
[5:04] Speaker 2: guess you should not give up right now. I guess
[5:07] Speaker 2: you should keep pressing. I guess you should do more
[5:10] Speaker 2: because see in all of us, in all of us,
[5:13] Speaker 2: when you've had enough, I want you to know something.
[5:16] Speaker 1: You do have a little bit more in all of us.
[5:20] Speaker 1: You can do one more.
[5:22] Speaker 2: You know, that's one of my favorite things that I
[5:24] Speaker 2: heard Joel Osteen said, and it kind of made me
[5:26] Speaker 2: feel good. He said, I always feel like I can
[5:31] Speaker 2: do one more anything. And I tell my friends all
[5:34] Speaker 2: the time, I can do one moment. I could do
[5:37] Speaker 2: one more day. I can do one more anything. Now,
[5:42] Speaker 2: here was the jewel that I never really knew that
[5:47] Speaker 2: Joel Osteen and God sent to me.
[5:51] Speaker 1: I needed to hear.
[5:53] Speaker 2: He said that no matter what you're going through, no
[5:57] Speaker 2: matter how long the challenges you've been facing, God has
[6:02] Speaker 2: an end date for it all.
[6:05] Speaker 1: Did you hear me?
[6:06] Speaker 2: No matter what you're going through, no matter what challenge
[6:09] Speaker 2: you're facing, no matter what situation you've gotten yourself into,
[6:13] Speaker 2: God has an ending date. All you got to do
[6:18] Speaker 2: is keep pressing forward. All you got to do is
[6:21] Speaker 2: hang in there. All you got to do is don't
[6:24] Speaker 2: give up. All you have to do is don't turn back.
[6:28] Speaker 2: There is an end date for all of it. even
[6:33] Speaker 2: when you think you've had enough and boy, have I
[6:38] Speaker 2: had this conversation with God on several things that I've
[6:43] Speaker 2: been going through and I'm go, I've even told him, look,
[6:46] Speaker 2: I got it, man. He said, just keep hanging on.
[6:51] Speaker 2: There is an end date to whatever it is you're
[6:54] Speaker 2: going to. There's an end date to your illness, your sickness, your,
[6:59] Speaker 2: You're tired of being tired. There's an end date to
[7:03] Speaker 2: this relationship that you can't seem to get through beyond over.
[7:12] Speaker 1: That's like a cancer to you.
[7:14] Speaker 2: There's an end date, but you've got to hang in there.
[7:19] Speaker 1: You've got to keep pushing forward. You cannot turn around.
[7:24] Speaker 2: You must not go back because when God gets you
[7:27] Speaker 2: through this, And you break through to the other side.
[7:32] Speaker 2: The reward and the benefit is far greater than the struggle.
[7:39] Speaker 2: I oftentimes look at some of the things that God
[7:42] Speaker 2: has brought me through in my worst times. And when
[7:46] Speaker 2: he brought me through, I went, wow, man, now that
[7:49] Speaker 2: I understand that, now that I'm on the other side
[7:52] Speaker 2: and I have the benefit of the reward for it,
[7:55] Speaker 2: would you do it all again to get there?
[7:57] Speaker 1: Yes, I would. You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
