[0:00] Speaker 1: All right, guys, here we are. Last break of the day.
[0:03] Speaker 1: And it's been a great day. And we always want
[0:06] Speaker 1: to say thank you to the Steve Harvey Nation for listening.
[0:09] Speaker 1: We appreciate you. Now, Steve, you said you were going
[0:11] Speaker 1: to close. You have something special.
[0:13] Speaker 2: Yeah. You know, well, it's not really anything special. It's
[0:15] Speaker 2: just closing remarks. I just, well, I looked at it differently.
[0:19] Speaker 2: You know, I talk all the time about gratitude. We
[0:24] Speaker 2: start the show in the morning. I try to remind
[0:27] Speaker 2: people to be grateful. But it's another level to it
[0:32] Speaker 2: that I've been saying it in a way, but I
[0:36] Speaker 2: guess I kind of heard it recently differently, and it
[0:39] Speaker 2: really had a profound effect on me. Okay. Being grateful
[0:48] Speaker 2: is not merely saying thank you for how he's taking
[0:54] Speaker 2: care of you currently. It's not, it's a little deeper
[0:59] Speaker 2: than that. And it's not being grateful because you know
[1:02] Speaker 2: God is going to care for you today like he
[1:07] Speaker 2: has done always. And I know what I'm saying is
[1:10] Speaker 2: coming across as a little bit odd, but I'm trying
[1:13] Speaker 2: to find the proper way to get to this point.
[1:17] Speaker 2: But gratitude, man, when you are thankful for exactly where
[1:23] Speaker 2: you are right now, without asking for anything else, if
[1:29] Speaker 2: you can be grateful for just exactly where you are
[1:34] Speaker 2: right now, it becomes a game changer. Because true gratitude
[1:41] Speaker 2: is to be grateful for it all, the good, the bad,
[1:45] Speaker 2: the positive, and the negative. That's a tough thing to
[1:48] Speaker 2: get a grasp on. So what I've been learning to
[1:54] Speaker 2: do is to be grateful even when it's going badly.
[2:02] Speaker 2: To be grateful even when you are in need. To
[2:07] Speaker 2: be grateful when it just ain't your day. Can you
[2:13] Speaker 2: muster and find the strength to say thank you, God, anyway?
[2:18] Speaker 2: If you can, it takes away the chase. This is
[2:23] Speaker 2: the part I'm trying to get you to. True gratitude
[2:27] Speaker 2: takes away the chase. And see, I've been guilty of
[2:31] Speaker 2: this for a long time and I wasn't paying attention
[2:34] Speaker 2: to it. That's why I'm bringing it to your attention
[2:36] Speaker 2: right now. I have been grateful. But right after my
[2:43] Speaker 2: gratitude prayer comes my list of things I want and
[2:48] Speaker 2: are looking to accomplish, right? But then right after my gratitude,
[2:53] Speaker 2: I get right back to the chase of what I
[2:56] Speaker 2: want now, what I want to happen, the deal, all this,
[3:00] Speaker 2: all this, all this. But let me tell you what happens, y'all.
[3:03] Speaker 2: If you can stop, oftentimes, don't pursue the chase. Be
[3:10] Speaker 2: truly grateful for where you are. Now, that does not
[3:13] Speaker 2: mean you want to stay there. That does not mean
[3:16] Speaker 2: you don't have hopes and dreams and aspirations. But I'm
[3:20] Speaker 2: talking about true gratitude because all of us are where
[3:25] Speaker 2: we are because we thought ourselves in this position. I mean,
[3:29] Speaker 2: make no mistake about it. Now, just because you've thought
[3:32] Speaker 2: yourself to where you are in this position, it does
[3:35] Speaker 2: not mean the position you're in is permanent. So I'm
[3:38] Speaker 2: not I'm saying, look. Everybody is where they thought they
[3:43] Speaker 2: self to be right now. Now, if you have the
[3:47] Speaker 2: right thoughts, you can progress from here. You can be
[3:50] Speaker 2: anything you want to be. You never know. But if
[3:55] Speaker 2: you could just stop and be grateful for exactly where
[3:59] Speaker 2: you are and show true gratitude for where you are,
[4:04] Speaker 2: guess what that does? It puts the theory of gratitude
[4:11] Speaker 2: gratitude into the universe on your behalf. And then you
[4:16] Speaker 2: become a magnet. You become a magnet for more things.
[4:23] Speaker 2: And I've said this before, but I never really understood
[4:27] Speaker 2: it the way I understand it now. What you want
[4:30] Speaker 2: to do, you all, is you want to have such
[4:33] Speaker 2: an appreciation for where you are right now, such an
[4:37] Speaker 2: appreciation for what God has done for you. that it
[4:41] Speaker 2: causes you not to chase. It puts you in the
[4:46] Speaker 2: Lord's prayer. Give us this day our daily bread. If
[4:52] Speaker 2: you can master that, just dealing with today, because let
[4:57] Speaker 2: me tell you something, today is plenty. And if you're
[5:00] Speaker 2: starting out your day today, I got news for you.
[5:02] Speaker 2: It's plenty. You ain't got to want no more because
[5:04] Speaker 2: it's coming. Because today is going to be enough, man.
[5:09] Speaker 2: Today actually is going to take all you have to
[5:12] Speaker 2: complete today, if you think about it. It's going to
[5:17] Speaker 2: take everything you got to get to tonight and then some.
[5:23] Speaker 2: But if you can do that, you then create the atmosphere,
[5:27] Speaker 2: you create the magnetic field that draws nothing but goodness
[5:33] Speaker 2: your way. And you can see it better too because
[5:37] Speaker 2: everything that bad happens to you is not bad. You
[5:41] Speaker 2: just got to look at it the right way. Everything
[5:45] Speaker 2: that happens to you has to happen to you in
[5:47] Speaker 2: a certain order so you can get to where you
[5:50] Speaker 2: are today and where you're trying to go. So if
[5:53] Speaker 2: you can manifest gratitude for where you are currently, even
[5:58] Speaker 2: though this ain't exactly where you want to be, So
[6:04] Speaker 2: if you're constantly waiting to be grateful, you're going to
[6:06] Speaker 2: lose sight of the journey. You've got to be okay
[6:10] Speaker 2: with where you are right now. And that will create
[6:14] Speaker 2: a magnetic field to draw good things your way. I
[6:18] Speaker 2: hope I explained this right. I'm going to try to
[6:21] Speaker 2: straighten it out. I might do it again tomorrow.
