[0:00] Speaker 1: Come on. Do your thing, Big Daddy.
[0:03] Speaker 2: Uh-huh.
[0:03] Speaker 1: I sure will.
[0:05] Speaker 2: Good morning, everybody. You are listening to The Voice. Come on,
[0:08] Speaker 2: dig me now. One and only, Steve Harvey. Got a
[0:11] Speaker 2: radio show. Ain't God been good to me. But then again,
[0:15] Speaker 2: ain't he been good to you too, though?
[0:17] Speaker 1: I mean, really, man. Think of all the blessings God
[0:20] Speaker 1: has given you. You know what? There's some good news today, though, y'all.
[0:25] Speaker 1: In the face of.
[0:27] Speaker 2: The world being the way it is, the evilness that's
[0:30] Speaker 2: out there, it just seems like that's all that's on
[0:32] Speaker 2: the news sometimes. We got news of parents not really
[0:37] Speaker 2: standing up being parents. We got news stories of children
[0:40] Speaker 2: turning on their parents. You got everything. The economy, you
[0:44] Speaker 2: got places you thought used to be beautiful places to go.
[0:48] Speaker 1: Now they got travel alerts. It's all over.
[0:53] Speaker 2: But the good news is, There's something that you can
[0:58] Speaker 2: have in this relationship with God that gives you a
[1:04] Speaker 2: way to deal with it all. And I'm not saying
[1:07] Speaker 2: that it'll protect you from every single thing out there
[1:10] Speaker 2: that's happening because some things are going to happen to you.
[1:14] Speaker 2: You're going to be in an accident from time to time.
[1:17] Speaker 2: You're going to make a mistake and fall down from
[1:20] Speaker 2: time to time. But man, wouldn't it be incredible for
[1:24] Speaker 2: you if you understood that you had some insurance in
[1:28] Speaker 2: all of this, that no matter what happened to you,
[1:31] Speaker 2: you know, you were covered. You know, look, insurance companies,
[1:34] Speaker 2: as good as they are, you know, like our friends
[1:37] Speaker 2: at State Farm or any other insurance company, you know,
[1:40] Speaker 2: they do some amazing things. Insurance is a really, really
[1:43] Speaker 2: good thing to happen in the event that something happens
[1:46] Speaker 2: to you. You know, you may not want to pay
[1:49] Speaker 2: the premium, but guess what? In the event that something
[1:51] Speaker 2: happens to you, that insurance is absolutely critical. Well, but
[1:57] Speaker 2: guess what? They cover certain things. You could get life insurance.
[2:00] Speaker 2: You can get auto insurance. You can get accident insurance.
[2:04] Speaker 2: You can get health insurance. There is nothing that you
[2:08] Speaker 2: can buy to safeguard you against life's decisions. You know,
[2:15] Speaker 2: if you make a mistake, if you cheat, if you lie,
[2:22] Speaker 2: If you fall down and you can't seem to get
[2:25] Speaker 2: it together and you make a crazy decision about how
[2:28] Speaker 2: you're going to go about securing an income, there are
[2:32] Speaker 2: no policies you can buy for that. You can't buy
[2:35] Speaker 2: a policy if you stop being the man you're supposed
[2:40] Speaker 2: to be and give up on your children. You can't
[2:44] Speaker 2: buy a policy if something happens as a mother and
[2:47] Speaker 2: all of a sudden you're not the mother you're supposed
[2:49] Speaker 2: to be. But there is some insurance coverage out there
[2:53] Speaker 2: for you. And that relationship that you form with God,
[2:58] Speaker 2: that friendship that you form with him, that alliance, that partnership,
[3:04] Speaker 2: that prayer that you put in all the time, there
[3:09] Speaker 2: is an insurance policy that you have taken out when
[3:13] Speaker 2: you form a relationship with your Heavenly Father, when you
[3:17] Speaker 2: form a friendship, when you form a bond, that protects
[3:21] Speaker 2: you when these things happen in the event that they happen. Now,
[3:27] Speaker 2: here's the great thing about prayer. Prayer can head off
[3:31] Speaker 2: some stuff from happening. It really, really can. Prayer can
[3:34] Speaker 2: prevent some things from happening. You know, I'll give you
[3:38] Speaker 2: an example in my life. Okay, here we go. Because see,
[3:41] Speaker 2: this is the best way for me to do it.
[3:42] Speaker 2: Because see, what I don't like to do is talk
[3:45] Speaker 2: to people without letting them know, hey, look, I'm in
[3:48] Speaker 2: this hole with you.
[3:49] Speaker 1: I feel where you're at. okay, here we go. I
[3:53] Speaker 1: was making some decisions a few.
[3:55] Speaker 2: Years ago because what I thought I was doing was
[3:59] Speaker 2: counterbalancing something that was happening in my life. You know,
[4:03] Speaker 2: I thought that since I wasn't happy or well, for
[4:09] Speaker 2: whatever the reason, I thought I wasn't happy. If, if I,
[4:12] Speaker 2: as wrong as I am, wanted to blame somebody else
[4:15] Speaker 2: for my unhappiness, that that's, that's really, if, if, If
[4:18] Speaker 2: I make a bad decision because I'm thinking I'm unhappy
[4:21] Speaker 2: with somebody, well, hold up on two wrongs don't make
[4:25] Speaker 2: a right. And I make a decision to do something wrong.
[4:27] Speaker 2: And now the consequences come when I do something wrong. See,
[4:33] Speaker 2: then I already know as an intelligent thinking man, as
[4:37] Speaker 2: most of you are, that when you do something wrong, that,
[4:40] Speaker 2: you know, there is a consequence for that.
[4:44] Speaker 1: I teach that to my sons. When you do something wrong,
[4:46] Speaker 1: there is a consequence.
[4:47] Speaker 2: So as an adult, I fully understood the consequence. And
[4:51] Speaker 2: so what I was doing was I was making some
[4:53] Speaker 2: decisions that was causing some consequences in my life that
[4:57] Speaker 2: was delaying my happiness, delaying my progress, causing my business
[5:03] Speaker 2: not to go the way it could go, so forth
[5:05] Speaker 2: and so on. Well, what I started doing was I
[5:08] Speaker 2: took out this insurance policy called prayer and I started
[5:12] Speaker 2: putting it in my mix on a daily basis. And
[5:15] Speaker 2: then I started putting it in my mix, you know, two,
[5:17] Speaker 2: three times a day. And then I found myself using
[5:20] Speaker 2: it all the time. And then I really started putting
[5:23] Speaker 2: it in when I didn't need any help. When I
[5:26] Speaker 2: wasn't in trouble, I started putting insurance in. I started
[5:29] Speaker 2: making deposits into the bank. I started paying my premiums down.
[5:34] Speaker 2: And prayer is like a premium. You just pay into it.
[5:37] Speaker 2: Then when situations started coming up now, That prayer that
[5:43] Speaker 2: I had put in, those premiums I had paid, it
[5:46] Speaker 2: started preventing me from making the decisions I was making
[5:49] Speaker 2: in the past. Thus, I didn't have to suffer the consequences. Thus,
[5:54] Speaker 2: my businesses didn't have to be delayed in its progress
[5:58] Speaker 2: because I had put some payments on some premiums. I
[6:01] Speaker 2: had taken out an insurance policy with my life, my
[6:06] Speaker 2: real life. I'm talking about your life where you make
[6:08] Speaker 2: your day-to-day decisions in. I'm not talking about, see, life
[6:12] Speaker 2: insurance is only good if you die. God has a
[6:16] Speaker 2: policy that's available for you while you're living. See, in
[6:22] Speaker 2: order for an insurance policy to pay, something bad got
[6:25] Speaker 2: to happen. Now, there may be some others out there
[6:28] Speaker 2: I don't know nothing about, but all the ones I got,
[6:31] Speaker 2: my car insurance, they only come into play if I
[6:34] Speaker 2: have an accident. I have an accident insurance policy where
[6:38] Speaker 2: if something happens to me, I got accident. I got
[6:42] Speaker 2: my voices covered in case something happened to that.
[6:45] Speaker 1: I got that.
[6:46] Speaker 2: But I got to not be able to talk to
[6:48] Speaker 2: cash that one.
[6:49] Speaker 1: You understand? I got homeowner's insurance.
[6:53] Speaker 2: Nothing show up on my homeowner's insurance unless it's a flood,
[6:58] Speaker 2: a fire, a theft. Something bad got to happen for
[7:02] Speaker 2: my insurance to even make sense. When you take out
[7:06] Speaker 2: the policy with your heavenly father, when you pay the
[7:10] Speaker 2: premiums of prayer, and that's all it costs, man. You
[7:14] Speaker 2: ain't got to have no money for this policy.
[7:17] Speaker 1: I put into the policy.
[7:19] Speaker 2: It pays me dividends and benefits for living. Ain't nothing
[7:26] Speaker 2: got to go wrong for me to cash in on
[7:29] Speaker 2: this policy. I use this policy for good things. I'll
[7:35] Speaker 2: give you an example. I use this policy to ask
[7:39] Speaker 2: God to watch over my family when I travel. Make
[7:42] Speaker 2: the decisions to pay your premiums in prayer.
[7:45] Speaker 1: Talk to your Heavenly Father. Get you some insurance in
[7:48] Speaker 1: your life.
[7:49] Speaker 2: And when you have little things like that, keep on stepping, man.
[7:52] Speaker 2: God loves you, man. Man, I sure hope you talk
[7:55] Speaker 2: to God today because guess what? He sure would like
[7:57] Speaker 2: to hear from you. That's for sure.
[7:59] Speaker 1: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
