## Transcript

[0:01] Speaker 1: ZM's Brie and Clint podcast.
[0:03] Speaker 2: It's our radio show, but wrapped up in a neat
[0:05] Speaker 2: little package just for you.
[0:07] Speaker 3: It's ZM's Brie and Clint podcast.
[0:09] Speaker 2: If you were listening on Tuesday, you might have heard
[0:12] Speaker 2: us get our good friend Maddie McLean on the show.
[0:15] Speaker 1: Works at The Hits, used to do the weather on TV.
[0:17] Speaker 3: I want to retract good friend from my records, thanks.
[0:20] Speaker 1: Okay, former friend?
[0:21] Speaker 3: I was going to say on the fence friend.
[0:28] Speaker 2: Maddie turned 40 last week. He had a birthday party
[0:32] Speaker 2: on Saturday.
[0:34] Speaker 3: I was there.
[0:35] Speaker 2: And when I was there, I remember going, I wonder
[0:37] Speaker 2: where Brie is. And I just assumed that I would
[0:40] Speaker 2: see you there, but I didn't. And then on Monday,
[0:42] Speaker 2: I was talking about the birthday party and Brie went,
[0:45] Speaker 2: I said, what birthday party?
[0:46] Speaker 1: What birthday party? I said, Maddie's birthday party.
[0:49] Speaker 3: I said, oh.
[0:50] Speaker 1: At the Bowls Club up the road from your house.
[0:52] Speaker 3: Literally down the road from my house. Down the road
[0:54] Speaker 3: from your house.
[0:55] Speaker 2: And so we called Maddie just to check because there's
[0:58] Speaker 2: every chance that you missed the invitation.
[1:01] Speaker 1: Yes. That it went to the wrong inbox?
[1:03] Speaker 3: There is a chance. That you opened it and forgot
[1:05] Speaker 3: about it? But there was also a good chance that
[1:07] Speaker 3: I wasn't invited.
[1:09] Speaker 1: So we put it to Matty and he admitted it
[1:11] Speaker 1: was his fault.
[1:12] Speaker 2: Brie, you were one of about 20 people that I forgot.
[1:16] Speaker 1: It's not Brie's fault.
[1:17] Speaker 3: And can I say, it is my fault, but this
[1:21] Speaker 3: is why I just, I can't be left in charge
[1:23] Speaker 3: of organising things.
[1:25] Speaker 2: He tried so hard to say that it wasn't his fault.
[1:29] Speaker 1: You know, he tried so hard there to go, it's
[1:30] Speaker 1: not my fault either.
[1:32] Speaker 3: He forgot to invite me. My fiancé, who's also friends
[1:37] Speaker 3: with Maddie, also didn't get an invite, also quite upset.
[1:41] Speaker 1: Yeah, it would be weird if she got an invite
[1:42] Speaker 1: and not you.
[1:43] Speaker 3: Yeah, obviously he just forgot about both of us.
[1:46] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[1:47] Speaker 3: Both forgettable in his life.
[1:49] Speaker 1: Do you think it's because you're women?
[1:51] Speaker 3: Yeah, maybe. I think that is probably a key factor.
[1:54] Speaker 1: Don't forget me.
[1:55] Speaker 3: Big key factor. Didn't forget Fletch or Vaughan. Nah. Did
[1:58] Speaker 3: forget Hayley. Did he?
[2:00] Speaker 1: Well, she wasn't there.
[2:02] Speaker 3: I'd love to ring Hayley and see if she was invited.
[2:06] Speaker 3: I reckon she was and she just couldn't make it.
[2:09] Speaker 3: I think she was in Sydney, wasn't she?
[2:10] Speaker 2: Actually, now that I think about it, I think all
[2:13] Speaker 2: of the women that were there were plus ones.
[2:16] Speaker 3: He didn't invite a single woman on the road. Half
[2:18] Speaker 3: of his sister and his mother. Oh, God.
[2:20] Speaker 1: Yeah, look, it's going to take time.
[2:23] Speaker 3: His invitation to my wedding is now up in the air.
[2:26] Speaker 3: It's in jeopardy. It is. Yeah. For real, because we
[2:29] Speaker 3: are low on numbers. Like, we are at max capacity. And,
[2:34] Speaker 3: I mean, it's bumped his name up a few spots.
[2:37] Speaker 3: What about his husband? To be cut. Nah, Ryan's still.
[2:39] Speaker 2: So Ryan's definitely invited. Maddie McLean's husband definitely invited.
[2:43] Speaker 3: Ryan is definitely invited. It doesn't involve him. We love Ryan.
[2:47] Speaker 2: Do you know inviting Ryan, I think, would upset Maddie
[2:51] Speaker 2: more than not inviting both of them?
[2:54] Speaker 3: You know?
[2:55] Speaker 1: Of course it would. Yeah.
[2:56] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[2:57] Speaker 2: He'd rather none of them went than someone went that
[3:00] Speaker 2: wasn't him.
[3:00] Speaker 3: I know that.
[3:01] Speaker 1: I know that.
[3:02] Speaker 2: The question we've got for you this afternoon is who
[3:04] Speaker 2: forgot to invite you to the thing? Who forgot to
[3:07] Speaker 2: invite you to the important thing that you should have
[3:09] Speaker 2: been at? It's not like you were a maybe. or
[3:13] Speaker 2: a 50-50, you should have been at this thing. And
[3:16] Speaker 2: the perfect example is our producer, Claudia. Claudia, who forgot
[3:19] Speaker 2: to invite you to what?
[3:20] Speaker 3: My friends forgot to invite me to my own surprise party.
[3:25] Speaker 3: So it was a real surprise to me. That is
[3:27] Speaker 3: a rather large oversight. I didn't find out until they
[3:30] Speaker 3: called me and they were like, hey, where are you?
[3:33] Speaker 3: And I was like, at home, what do you mean?
[3:35] Speaker 3: And they were like, oh, my God. And obviously then
[3:37] Speaker 3: talked to each other about it.
[3:39] Speaker 1: We've got to go.
[3:40] Speaker 3: They had to spoil it to get me in the room.
[3:41] Speaker 3: It's like, we've thrown you a party. You have to come.
[3:43] Speaker 3: I'm like, okay.
[3:45] Speaker 1: That's outrageous.
[3:46] Speaker 3: So bad, eh? That's so bad. I mean, they've kept
[3:50] Speaker 3: a good secret. Yeah, they were trying to be sweet.
[3:53] Speaker 3: There's meant to be one person, though, who takes you out. Yeah.
[3:56] Speaker 3: And who's like, hey. Let's go out and do this.
[3:58] Speaker 3: Let's go for a drink. Wear something nice. I will. Yeah,
[4:01] Speaker 3: let's dress up for no reason.
[4:02] Speaker 1: Oh, I just need to pop in here and get something.
[4:04] Speaker 3: Surprise! Boom, gotcha!
[4:07] Speaker 1: No one invited Claudia to her.
[4:09] Speaker 3: Own surprise party.
[4:10] Speaker 4: There it is, Franklin.
[4:12] Speaker 1: Brie is still not over not being invited to Maddie
[4:14] Speaker 1: McLean's 40th.
[4:15] Speaker 3: It just happened. It literally happened on the weekend. I'm
[4:18] Speaker 3: not saying you should be over it. He sees me
[4:20] Speaker 3: every day. We work at the same workplace and he
[4:23] Speaker 3: forgot to invite me to his 40th. I'm literally in
[4:27] Speaker 3: the midst of inviting people to my wedding and he's
[4:31] Speaker 3: on the cusp.
[4:32] Speaker 2: He calls harmless mistake. Someone texted and said, I call BS.
[4:36] Speaker 2: Brie and Clint are basically joined at the hip and
[4:39] Speaker 2: he didn't forget Clint.
[4:40] Speaker 3: Yeah. It's so true. Someone else said you should make
[4:43] Speaker 3: Maddie a plus one on Ryan, his partner's invite.
[4:46] Speaker 1: Why don't we do that right now?
[4:50] Speaker 3: Can we call Maddie? And I'm just going to go, hey,
[4:53] Speaker 3: is Ryan there? I'd like to talk to Ryan.
[4:55] Speaker 1: That's Maddie's husband. Yeah.
[4:57] Speaker 3: He's a sweetheart, by the way.
[5:00] Speaker 1: Calling Maddie to talk to Ryan.
[5:02] Speaker 3: I just want to talk to Ryan to invite him
[5:04] Speaker 3: to my wedding.
[5:04] Speaker 1: Hi, is Ryan there, please?
[5:05] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[5:09] Speaker 1: Claudia's making sure we explicitly make it clear to Maddie
[5:12] Speaker 1: that we're live on the radio.
[5:17] Speaker 3: Hi, Maddie McLean. It's the person you forgot to invite
[5:20] Speaker 3: to your 40th birthday. It's Bree. What are you on?
[5:22] Speaker 3: Bree Thomasel. Do you remember me?
[5:24] Speaker 2: What are you on?
[5:25] Speaker 3: Hey, quick one for you. Is your beautiful husband Ryan there?
[5:30] Speaker 3: I just want to talk to him. He's not here.
[5:33] Speaker 3: I'm so sorry. Okay. Tell him why you wanted to
[5:35] Speaker 3: talk to Ryan. Can you get him to call me?
[5:39] Speaker 3: I have something I want to invite him to. Pass off.
[5:46] Speaker 3: So just whenever at his earliest convenience, tell him to
[5:50] Speaker 3: give me a call and I'll just have– it's between
[5:53] Speaker 3: him and I. You don't need to know anything else. Yeah, okay, cool. Okay, cool.
[5:57] Speaker 3: All right.
[5:58] Speaker 2: You're about to have a free weekend in March next year, Matty.
[6:03] Speaker 3: Cool. Brilliant. I can wash my hair. Yeah, yeah, no,
[6:06] Speaker 3: that's good. You'll have plenty of time.
[6:07] Speaker 1: That'll take ages.
[6:08] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[6:10] Speaker 1: Thanks, Matty.
[6:11] Speaker 3: Thanks, Matty. Bye. See you.
[6:13] Speaker 4: Bye.
[6:14] Speaker 3: Poor Matty.
[6:15] Speaker 1: He laughs, but on the inside.
[6:16] Speaker 3: He's broken.
[6:17] Speaker 1: He cried.
[6:18] Speaker 3: Jordan's here. Hi, Jordan. Hi, Jordan.
[6:21] Speaker 4: Hi.
[6:21] Speaker 3: Who forgot to invite you to what, Jordan?
[6:24] Speaker 4: I don't think it was an accident, but my auntie
[6:27] Speaker 4: didn't invite me to a wedding and she lived around
[6:29] Speaker 4: the corner from me.
[6:30] Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
[6:31] Speaker 3: You don't think it was an accident, Jordan?
[6:32] Speaker 4: No, because my parents were invited and then they said
[6:35] Speaker 4: it sucked that I couldn't come.
[6:37] Speaker 3: Oh, was anyone else like, let's say, do you have
[6:40] Speaker 3: siblings and were they invited?
[6:44] Speaker 4: My sister also wasn't invited.
[6:46] Speaker 1: Were you kids?
[6:47] Speaker 4: Yeah. Pardon?
[6:48] Speaker 3: Were you kids at the time?
[6:49] Speaker 4: No, I was 21. Oh no.
[6:51] Speaker 2: Because I can get it if they're like, no children.
[6:55] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[6:55] Speaker 4: And I'm waiting for my partner to propose to me
[6:58] Speaker 4: and they said ask if they were invited to my wedding.
[7:00] Speaker 3: They asked? They had the nerve to ask if they
[7:02] Speaker 3: would be invited to yours.
[7:04] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[7:04] Speaker 3: And are you going to invite them?
[7:06] Speaker 4: I don't know. We'll see. I might be the bigger person.
[7:08] Speaker 3: No, don't be.
[7:09] Speaker 1: The bigger person.
[7:10] Speaker 3: No, take the high road, Jordan. It feels way better. Me, however,
[7:14] Speaker 3: I love taking the low road, so Maddie McLean will
[7:16] Speaker 3: not be invited to my wedding. Fine, Jordan. Be the
[7:20] Speaker 3: bigger person, but definitely bring it up in the speech. Yeah,
[7:23] Speaker 3: I will. That's a special shout out to my auntie
[7:26] Speaker 3: who's here tonight. Love my auntie.
[7:27] Speaker 1: She didn't invite me to her wedding.
[7:28] Speaker 3: Also, put them on the worst table with the most
[7:31] Speaker 3: annoying cousins. Put them near the toilet.
[7:34] Speaker 4: I'll remember to do that.
[7:35] Speaker 1: Good on you.
[7:36] Speaker 2: Someone said, the question was, who forgot to invite you
[7:38] Speaker 2: to what? Someone said, I got invited to a wedding,
[7:41] Speaker 2: but they forgot to put me on the seating chart.
[7:43] Speaker 2: It was humiliating. It was worse than forgetting to invite me, honestly.
[7:48] Speaker 3: That's my worst nightmare. Yeah, what did you do? That's awful.
[7:53] Speaker 3: You don't have anywhere to sit. Squishing at someone else's table?
[7:56] Speaker 1: That is embarrassing.
[7:57] Speaker 3: That's so yuck. My mum did the same thing as
[7:59] Speaker 3: Claudia's friends.
[8:00] Speaker 2: Spent so much time sorting out the surprise that she
[8:03] Speaker 2: forgot to plan to get me to my own surprise party. Oh, no.
[8:07] Speaker 3: What about this? I feel like this takes the cake.
[8:09] Speaker 3: My extended family forgot to invite me and my sister
[8:13] Speaker 3: to my dad's memorial service.
[8:16] Speaker 1: That's next level.
[8:17] Speaker 3: There's another one like it too. It says my grandma
[8:20] Speaker 3: forgot to invite my mum to her aunt's funeral, the
[8:24] Speaker 3: aunt that I am named after even. That's rough.
[8:29] Speaker 2: So the grandma forgot to invite her own daughter.
[8:32] Speaker 3: That's crazy work. Yeah, that's not good.
[8:36] Speaker 2: Not sure if it's forgotten, but I was not invited
[8:39] Speaker 2: to a friend's wedding because at this time I had
[8:42] Speaker 2: a two-month-old that I was breastfeeding and she did not
[8:45] Speaker 2: feel that I would come to the wedding even if
[8:48] Speaker 2: I was invited.
[8:49] Speaker 3: P.S.
[8:50] Speaker 1: I would have gone. Oh, really?
[8:53] Speaker 3: So she just assumed that you wouldn't go. Which some
[8:56] Speaker 3: people wouldn't. Yeah, but you still invite them and then
[9:01] Speaker 3: you let them decide.
[9:02] Speaker 2: Can I just give everybody a tip? And I think
[9:04] Speaker 2: you'll appreciate this at the moment. If you have friends
[9:08] Speaker 2: who have recently had babies.
[9:09] Speaker 3: Invite them anyway.
[9:10] Speaker 2: Invite them to everything. Don't expect them to come, but
[9:14] Speaker 2: invite them to everything.
[9:15] Speaker 3: Yep. They won't come.
[9:17] Speaker 1: In fact, you should hope they don't come because they'll
[9:19] Speaker 1: be exhausted.
[9:20] Speaker 3: Just invite them.
[9:23] Speaker 2: Someone said, clearly Taylor Swift forgot to invite me to
[9:27] Speaker 2: her wedding.
[9:28] Speaker 3: So rude. She invited everyone else. Yeah, girl. I mean,
[9:31] Speaker 3: Adam Sandler officiated. We're not even sure if the wedding happened.
[9:34] Speaker 3: What do you mean? No one saw photos. Has there
[9:37] Speaker 3: been no photos?
[9:38] Speaker 2: No one's seen any photos. How do we know that
[9:41] Speaker 2: it was a wedding? Could have been a secret meeting
[9:44] Speaker 2: of the Illuminati.
[9:47] Speaker 3: So see, Grace gets it. I was going to say
[9:49] Speaker 3: it wasn't very secret. Well, no, it was because everyone's like,
[9:52] Speaker 3: it's a wedding.
[9:53] Speaker 1: Don't worry, it's just a wedding.
[9:54] Speaker 2: And inside they're like, ooga chugga, ooga chugga, ooga chugga.
[9:58] Speaker 1: Doing Illuminati stuff.
[9:59] Speaker 3: And the little baby's are dancing on the.
[10:00] Speaker 1: Stage ooga chugga ooga chugga ooga chugga because if.
[10:03] Speaker 3: There's one thing we know about the illuminati.
[10:06] Speaker 1: Beyonce's in the centre doing a blood sacrifice.
[10:08] Speaker 3: Ooga chugga ooga chugga ooga chugga.
[10:11] Speaker 1: It's how I assume it happens but.
[10:16] Speaker 3: I think it's a good assumption. Thanks, Bree. I'll invite
[10:20] Speaker 3: you to my 40th. Next on the show. I bloody
[10:23] Speaker 3: hope so. Play ZM's Bree and Clint on Insta, Facebook,
[10:28] Speaker 3: TikTok
[10:29] Speaker 1: And live weekdays from 3 on ZM.
