[0:00] Speaker 1: ZM's Bray and Clint podcast.
[0:03] Speaker 2: Play ZM's Bray and Clint. ZM's Bray and Clint, thanks
[0:06] Speaker 2: to KFC. Oh, my God. It's Friday.
[0:14] Speaker 3: Make some noise for the original ZM's Bray and Clint.
[0:23] Speaker 2: Good afternoon, everybody.
[0:24] Speaker 4: Welcome to the Brian Clint Show on a Friday.
[0:27] Speaker 2: Not any Friday. There's a lot going on today. Not
[0:31] Speaker 2: only has Olivia Rodrigo dropped a new song with Chapel Roan,
[0:35] Speaker 2: or a remix, Tate McRae's got new music, and we
[0:39] Speaker 2: have the last pass in existence to Olivia Deen.
[0:42] Speaker 4: Oh, yeah, and it's the return of Brian Clint's Friday Okie.
[0:45] Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, that's back, too. It's been away for a bit.
[0:47] Speaker 4: It's had a break, and now it's coming back with
[0:49] Speaker 4: a vengeance where we will also be doing Olivia Deen
[0:52] Speaker 4: on Olivia Deen Eve.
[0:54] Speaker 2: I hope she's already in the country so she gets
[0:56] Speaker 2: to hear it. You know what?
[0:57] Speaker 4: She probably is. There's no way she's flying in tomorrow.
[1:00] Speaker 4: She wouldn't risk that.
[1:01] Speaker 2: She'd be here right now, yeah. We will, at five o'clock,
[1:04] Speaker 2: be taking on.
[1:10] Speaker 2: Olivia Deen's Baby Steps.
[1:13] Speaker 4: And then after that at 5.40, we're going to call
[1:16] Speaker 4: someone and say, hey, cancel your plans on Saturday because
[1:19] Speaker 4: you are getting the country's final double pass to go
[1:22] Speaker 4: along and see Olivia Deen live.
[1:23] Speaker 2: Drop everything because you need to get your butt to
[1:26] Speaker 2: Auckland for this show tomorrow.
[1:28] Speaker 4: There's still time if you're not in that draw. You
[1:30] Speaker 4: need to get the iHeart app on the ZM page,
[1:33] Speaker 4: tap the microphone and tell us what plans you'd cancel
[1:35] Speaker 4: like this.
[1:36] Speaker 2: If I won tickets to Olivia Deen, I would leave my.
[1:41] Speaker 2: We've been long distance friends for ages and she's been
[1:44] Speaker 2: in Europe and I volunteered to pick her up when
[1:46] Speaker 2: she was coming home this Saturday, but I'm sure she'd understand.
[1:50] Speaker 2: She would understand. Yeah.
[1:52] Speaker 4: She'd be like, why aren't you taking me to Olivia Dean?
[1:54] Speaker 4: I think that's more to the point.
[1:56] Speaker 2: You're like, sorry, I can't come and get you and
[1:59] Speaker 2: make it to the Olivia Dean show in time. Yeah,
[2:01] Speaker 2: it doesn't work. It doesn't work. So get your messages in.
[2:03] Speaker 4: We're going to call the winner at 5.40 and you
[2:05] Speaker 4: still have time to get your submission in.
[2:08] Speaker 2: We'll get straight into a fresh round.
[2:09] Speaker 4: Of Tradie versus Lady first, though, where the difference is
[2:12] Speaker 4: 10 points.
[2:13] Speaker 2: That's right. If you want to play for a Friday,
[2:16] Speaker 2: 50 bucks is up for grabs.
[2:17] Speaker 1: Play ZM's Bree and Clint.
[2:19] Speaker 6: This is the main event.
[2:24] Speaker 1: Tradie versus Lady.
[2:28] Speaker 2: Here we go, last game of the week for the
[2:30] Speaker 2: tradies versus the ladies. Tradies sitting on 92, ladies behind
[2:35] Speaker 2: on 81.
[2:35] Speaker 4: Our ladies in Auckland, they're here for Olivia Dean. They
[2:39] Speaker 4: won tickets off ZM. Welcome to the show, Grace.
[2:42] Speaker 2: Hi, Grace. Hello, how are you guys? When did you
[2:45] Speaker 2: win the tickets?
[2:46] Speaker 7: On Wednesday.
[2:48] Speaker 2: Wow.
[2:49] Speaker 4: Where in the country were you when you won the tickets?
[2:52] Speaker 8: I live in Tauranga.
[2:53] Speaker 2: Stop it. So you've got.
[2:54] Speaker 4: Yourself up to Auckland, got a swanky little hotel for
[2:57] Speaker 4: the weekend?
[2:58] Speaker 2: Well, my family lives in Auckland, so. Oh, how bloody.
[3:02] Speaker 2: How easy. Who are you taking with you?
[3:03] Speaker 8: I'm taking my boyfriend. And when I called him saying,
[3:07] Speaker 8: I just want Olivia Dean tickets, he's like, who's that?
[3:09] Speaker 2: Oh, my God. Grace. Don't tell people that, Grace. Grounds
[3:14] Speaker 2: for separation. We played Olivia Dean like the whole drive up,
[3:17] Speaker 2: so he's had a very steep education.
[3:19] Speaker 4: He is going to love her this time tomorrow or Sunday.
[3:23] Speaker 4: He's going to be absolutely gobsmacked.
[3:25] Speaker 2: Yeah. You're taking on our tradie in Christchurch.
[3:28] Speaker 4: They're 48 and they love diving with great white sharks.
[3:31] Speaker 2: Bree and I did this once. Welcome to the show, Simon. Hi, Simon.
[3:34] Speaker 2: Good afternoon. Hasn't it been banned in the last however
[3:39] Speaker 2: many years in Bluff, Simon? No, no. I'm hoping to
[3:43] Speaker 2: head down next year again.
[3:44] Speaker 4: You can still do it. You can go privately. The
[3:46] Speaker 4: one that we did, the tour group one. Commercially, you
[3:49] Speaker 4: can't pay for it anymore.
[3:50] Speaker 2: I think so. Does that sound about right, Simon? I
[3:52] Speaker 2: think you can. Oh, you can? It's in a month.
[3:54] Speaker 9: Yep.
[3:55] Speaker 2: Really? All right. Let's go. Band in Mexico. Band in Mexico. Right,
[4:00] Speaker 2: so it was banned somewhere. No, I'm sure it got
[4:03] Speaker 2: banned here. I'm sure of it too. It was like
[4:05] Speaker 2: a couple of years.
[4:06] Speaker 8: It was, they cut it down for a year.
[4:08] Speaker 2: Yeah, right, okay. All right, brave man, your buzz is tradie.
[4:12] Speaker 4: Grace, lady, first of three correct answers gets $ 50 cash
[4:15] Speaker 4: thanks to KFC.
[4:17] Speaker 2: Here we go, guys. Question number one, which country would
[4:20] Speaker 2: you be in if you were visiting Alice Springs? Lady. Yes, Grace.
[4:26] Speaker 7: Australia.
[4:27] Speaker 2: It is Australia. Well done. In the Northern Territory. We
[4:31] Speaker 2: move on to question two. What body part do doctors
[4:34] Speaker 2: of paediatric medicine specialise in? Yes, Grace.
[4:40] Speaker 9: Feet.
[4:40] Speaker 2: Feet. It is the feet. Well done. Podiatry. It was
[4:45] Speaker 2: the word I was getting confused with. That's a hard word.
[4:47] Speaker 2: Question number three. Why don't they just call them foot doctor? Yeah,
[4:50] Speaker 2: they're into feet. Question number three. Buzz in when you
[4:53] Speaker 2: can tell me who sings this. Grace for the win.
[4:59] Speaker 2: Katy Perry. Damn. She bloody can't lose on ZM. She's
[5:07] Speaker 2: winning Olivia Dean. She's winning tradie versus lady. 50 bucks
[5:11] Speaker 2: coming your way, Grace. You're on a hot streak, Grace. Yay,
[5:14] Speaker 2: thank you. We need to buy a lotto ticket. It
[5:15] Speaker 2: comes in threes. You won Olivia Dean tickets on Wednesday,
[5:18] Speaker 2: Trady vs. Lady on Friday. Get a bloody lotto ticket, Grace. Yeah.
[5:22] Speaker 2: I do draw the line at gambling, but maybe we'll
[5:24] Speaker 2: give it a go. Fair enough. We'll get the 50
[5:27] Speaker 2: bucks out to you, and I'll get you a couple
[5:29] Speaker 2: of drinks tomorrow night at Olivia Dean, eh?
[5:31] Speaker 10: Yeah, I'll see you guys there.
[5:32] Speaker 4: Simon, say hi to the great whites from us. It's
[5:34] Speaker 4: crazy when you look at them straight in the face, eh?
[5:36] Speaker 4: It's like you're looking at a dinosaur.
[5:39] Speaker 2: It is amazing.
[5:40] Speaker 8: Can't wait to do it again.
[5:41] Speaker 2: It's incredible. There you go. He's a crazy man. One
[5:43] Speaker 2: of the most terrifying things I've ever done. Will you
[5:46] Speaker 2: be in a cage, Simon? Yes, but one day I
[5:49] Speaker 2: want to do it out of a cage. No, Simon, no.
[5:53] Speaker 2: I don't. I'm fine with the cage. You couldn't pay
[5:56] Speaker 2: me enough money.
[5:58] Speaker 1: ZDM's Brie and Clint podcast.
[6:00] Speaker 2: Can you humour me? I'd like to talk about the
[6:02] Speaker 2: Beatles for a second. Always. Not talking about dung. Not
[6:08] Speaker 2: talking about Christmas. Not talking about the V-dub.
[6:12] Speaker 4: Nope.
[6:12] Speaker 2: I'm talking about the Beatles, the band. What's a Christmas beetle? Oh,
[6:17] Speaker 2: do you guys not have Christmas beetles? No, what's a
[6:19] Speaker 2: Christmas beetle? In Australia, only around Christmas time or in
[6:23] Speaker 2: the couple of weeks in the lead up, you get
[6:26] Speaker 2: an influx of Christmas beetles and they're beetles that have
[6:30] Speaker 2: gold shiny wings. You get special bugs at Christmas time?
[6:33] Speaker 2: Australia's wild, eh? It's crazy. Do they also want to
[6:36] Speaker 2: kill you like everything else in Australia? No, they're like
[6:38] Speaker 2: really pretty and fun. I think that's why they call
[6:40] Speaker 2: them Christmas beetles. Anyway, let's talk about the beetles, the
[6:44] Speaker 2: band for a second because there's a story doing the
[6:47] Speaker 2: rounds after. So John Lennon, who was one of the beetles,
[6:53] Speaker 2: One of the, he wrote most of the songs for
[6:55] Speaker 2: the Beatles. He wrote a lot of them. Half. And
[6:59] Speaker 2: he had a couple of sons. Do you know anything
[7:02] Speaker 2: about his sons, his kids? Yeah. Do you know that
[7:04] Speaker 2: he had a son with his first wife? Oh, yes,
[7:09] Speaker 2: before Yoko, yeah. Yeah, so he had a son with
[7:11] Speaker 2: his first wife, Cynthia Powell, and then he had a
[7:13] Speaker 2: son with his second wife, Yoko Ono.
[7:16] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[7:16] Speaker 2: So he's got two sons, two different wives, but there's
[7:20] Speaker 2: a lot of chat around the sons at the moment
[7:22] Speaker 2: because some random person has tweeted on X that they
[7:27] Speaker 2: tweeted this. I'll read it to you. It says, one
[7:29] Speaker 2: guy abandoned by his famous dad. He's talking about the
[7:32] Speaker 2: two sons.
[7:33] Speaker 9: Yeah.
[7:34] Speaker 2: The other embraced and closely attended to by the same dad.
[7:39] Speaker 2: One guy inherited most of the estate. The other largely
[7:42] Speaker 2: cut out and forced to engage in decades long litigation
[7:46] Speaker 2: in pursuit of a comparatively small share of it. One
[7:50] Speaker 2: got everything, one got nothing. This is what this tweet
[7:52] Speaker 2: was saying, right? So I don't know who the tweet
[7:54] Speaker 2: was from. It was from a random person on Twitter. Okay.
[7:57] Speaker 2: But Sean, who is Yoko Ono and John Lennon's son,
[8:02] Speaker 2: he has commented on it. Okay. So he's come back.
[8:05] Speaker 2: He's the one I assume got everything. Right?
[8:08] Speaker 9: Yeah.
[8:08] Speaker 2: Because that was his second wife. Because John Lennon died
[8:10] Speaker 2: when he was really young. He was 40. And I've
[8:14] Speaker 2: looked into it. He had an estimated net worth of
[8:16] Speaker 2: around $ 200 million.
[8:17] Speaker 9: Wow.
[8:19] Speaker 2: Back then?
[8:19] Speaker 9: Yeah.
[8:20] Speaker 2: Wow. At the time of his death. Wow. It was
[8:23] Speaker 2: around $ 200 million. So there was a lot of money.
[8:26] Speaker 2: So Sean Ono Lennon has commented and said that that
[8:32] Speaker 2: is not true. Julian and I inherited the same amount
[8:36] Speaker 2: from our dad. Our trusts were equal. Oh, okay. And
[8:40] Speaker 2: it's like set the record straight. Yeah, right. Because apparently
[8:43] Speaker 2: they've tried to pit these two guys against each other
[8:46] Speaker 2: since forever. They've tried to say that they don't get
[8:49] Speaker 2: along and there's a rift between them, but they've always
[8:52] Speaker 2: maintained that they're actually really close. Yeah, right. Okay. Interesting, though, that, like,
[8:58] Speaker 2: he's just come on airing all the family laundry being like,
[9:02] Speaker 2: that's not true. Yeah. That's not bloody true. Yeah.
[9:04] Speaker 4: I wonder what you are entitled to as, like, the
[9:07] Speaker 4: jilted son of a late father.
[9:09] Speaker 2: Like, if you can go.
[9:11] Speaker 4: If new stuff comes up or if royalties for something
[9:15] Speaker 4: get sold down the track and you go, well, actually,
[9:17] Speaker 4: he's my dad too.
[9:18] Speaker 2: He's just as much his dad as he is the other.
[9:22] Speaker 2: Give me half. Yeah. Give me half. It made me
[9:26] Speaker 2: think about where this has happened, where the inheritance hasn't
[9:32] Speaker 2: been split down the middle or hasn't been split three ways.
[9:35] Speaker 2: It can destroy families. It really can.
[9:38] Speaker 7: Yeah.
[9:38] Speaker 2: It can tear families apart. Yeah. And I want to
[9:42] Speaker 2: ask for those stories this afternoon. If you've got one,
[9:46] Speaker 2: we'd love to hear from you. 0800 dial ZM or
[9:49] Speaker 2: you can text us on 9696. Was the inheritance not
[9:53] Speaker 2: split up? Evenly. Evenly.
[9:55] Speaker 8: Yeah.
[9:56] Speaker 2: Did you get heaps more? Saucy. Or did you get
[9:59] Speaker 2: heaps less? And did it ruin the family? Or did
[10:02] Speaker 2: you get the thing?
[10:03] Speaker 4: Did they get the thing that you definitely wanted and
[10:06] Speaker 4: were entitled to?
[10:07] Speaker 2: Dad's car collection.
[10:09] Speaker 1: Daddy Franklin.
[10:11] Speaker 4: So we want to know, did the inheritance get split differently?
[10:14] Speaker 4: This person wants to be anonymous, which means it must
[10:17] Speaker 4: be good.
[10:17] Speaker 2: Hello, anonymous. Hi, anonymous.
[10:19] Speaker 8: Hi.
[10:20] Speaker 2: What happened with the inheritance, anonymous?
[10:22] Speaker 8: So it wasn't actually with me. It was my dad
[10:25] Speaker 8: and my grandparents. Okay. So when both my grandparents were
[10:29] Speaker 8: still alive, they had three children, my dad and two siblings.
[10:33] Speaker 2: Right.
[10:34] Speaker 8: And they wrote in their will that everything was to
[10:36] Speaker 8: be split. three ways equally between the three children.
[10:39] Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
[10:41] Speaker 8: And my grandmother passed first and after she did, my
[10:47] Speaker 8: no longer auntie managed to manipulate my grandfather and he
[10:52] Speaker 8: changed his will to leave absolutely everything to her.
[10:56] Speaker 2: Shut up. Oh, what an absolute.
[10:59] Speaker 4: That sounds like the plot line to a movie. Like
[11:02] Speaker 4: she kind of sounds like a Cruella de Vil type character.
[11:04] Speaker 2: Anonymous. How did they figure this out? Because obviously the
[11:08] Speaker 2: family figured it out eventually what happened.
[11:11] Speaker 8: Yeah, well, it was actually overseas. And me and my
[11:14] Speaker 8: dad flew. overseas to go to the funeral and sort
[11:18] Speaker 8: out all the assets and paperwork and everything like that.
[11:22] Speaker 8: And it wasn't until we were overseas and my uncle
[11:25] Speaker 8: also joined us that we discovered.
[11:27] Speaker 4: That's when you found out?
[11:28] Speaker 8: That's when we found out.
[11:30] Speaker 2: And it's too late then?
[11:31] Speaker 8: Oh, yeah, way too late.
[11:32] Speaker 2: Wow. How much, if you don't mind us asking, like
[11:36] Speaker 2: what's the ballpark of, you know, if it was split
[11:39] Speaker 2: three ways, like what's the amount that your dad lost?
[11:43] Speaker 8: Oh, a good few hundred thousand.
[11:45] Speaker 9: Wow.
[11:46] Speaker 8: Maybe 500,000.
[11:46] Speaker 9: Wow.
[11:46] Speaker 2: There was.
[11:49] Speaker 8: House, caravans, cars, investments.
[11:53] Speaker 2: And a sister. Yeah, maybe the biggest baggage. He lost
[11:56] Speaker 2: a sister as well. That's so messy. Scandal. And that's
[12:00] Speaker 2: exactly what we're talking about.
[12:02] Speaker 4: Someone said, my mum got left less than her siblings
[12:05] Speaker 4: and her father's will, which also included ownership of the
[12:08] Speaker 4: family batch at the beach.
[12:10] Speaker 2: Gutted. And gutted to know that your dad liked you
[12:14] Speaker 2: less after he died. That sucks. That's so wrong. Like,
[12:19] Speaker 2: it's so, I mean, I don't know the inner workings
[12:21] Speaker 2: of that particular family, but from the outside, like dog move,
[12:26] Speaker 2: someone said, my grandparents are still alive, but when my
[12:28] Speaker 2: dad died a few years ago, my three cousins stopped
[12:32] Speaker 2: talking to me because his share of my still alive grandparents'
[12:36] Speaker 2: houses will now be going to me. Sorry that my
[12:39] Speaker 2: dad died.
[12:41] Speaker 4: Oh, it's so messy and disgusting to be carving up
[12:44] Speaker 4: someone's assets.
[12:47] Speaker 2: While they're still alive. But also to that person, they've
[12:50] Speaker 2: just showed their true colours and you're better off without
[12:53] Speaker 2: those cousins. They also then replied as well. They said,
[12:57] Speaker 2: I forgot to say that the way I found out
[13:00] Speaker 2: that they were mad at me was because they decided
[13:03] Speaker 2: not to be bridesmaids in my wedding even though it
[13:06] Speaker 2: had already been organised. Oh, wow. God, they sound like
[13:09] Speaker 2: the evil... Stepsisters. What about this text from Aaron? It says, Why?
[13:13] Speaker 2: He doesn't say why. I need to know why.
[13:15] Speaker 9: Yeah.
[13:15] Speaker 2: Maybe he's done something.
[13:16] Speaker 4: Maybe he's the primary carer for his father or something
[13:20] Speaker 4: like that.
[13:20] Speaker 2: Maybe there's... Yeah. Maybe there's some other reason for it.
[13:34] Speaker 2: Or maybe he likes him better.
[13:36] Speaker 4: Or maybe he's manipulated him like that first caller.
[13:39] Speaker 2: Maybe he's got three sisters and we all know how
[13:41] Speaker 2: women are with money. You know? So the dad's like,
[13:45] Speaker 2: I'll give it all to my son. He'll know what
[13:48] Speaker 2: to do with it.
[13:49] Speaker 4: I inherited a used fishing net from my grandpa and
[13:53] Speaker 4: my brother got a heap of cash.
[13:55] Speaker 2: That seems fair.
[13:56] Speaker 4: It's probably his special fishing net. It's probably his favourite
[13:59] Speaker 4: fishing net. It's probably his lucky fishing net. And the
[14:02] Speaker 4: brothers didn't get that.
[14:03] Speaker 2: I don't care. You can't buy that with cash. I
[14:05] Speaker 2: want the cash. Someone said, my mother-in-law has no contact
[14:09] Speaker 2: with her two daughters. So my husband is set to
[14:12] Speaker 2: collect everything in her will. But I really want my
[14:15] Speaker 2: kids to know their cousins who are overseas. Is there
[14:19] Speaker 2: any advice you can give them? I would need to know,
[14:22] Speaker 2: just because your mother-in-law has no contact with her two
[14:25] Speaker 2: daughters doesn't mean you have to. So you'd need to
[14:28] Speaker 2: know what the situation was. Like, were the two daughters,
[14:31] Speaker 2: have they done something awful to the mother-in-law that warrants
[14:36] Speaker 2: no contact?
[14:37] Speaker 9: Yeah.
[14:38] Speaker 2: Because just because she doesn't have a relationship doesn't mean.
[14:41] Speaker 4: Oh, risky to get involved, though. Like, you know, you're
[14:47] Speaker 4: married into the family.
[14:48] Speaker 2: But that's... Her husband's sisters. Yeah. Like, so if the
[14:53] Speaker 2: mum had cut off the sisters, does that mean he
[14:56] Speaker 2: just has no sisters anymore? Well, it's up to him,
[15:00] Speaker 2: isn't it?
[15:00] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[15:01] Speaker 2: It's up to what happened. We're talking about inheritance.
[15:03] Speaker 4: Someone said, all I got from my grandparents is undiagnosed
[15:06] Speaker 4: autism and ADHD.
[15:09] Speaker 2: But did you split that evenly with your siblings? That's
[15:11] Speaker 2: what we need to know. I didn't in my family.
[15:14] Speaker 2: I got it all. You took it all, you greedy guts.
[15:19] Speaker 2: Another season of The Kardashians dropped on Disney Plus last week,
[15:24] Speaker 2: I believe. I haven't watched it yet, but I will
[15:26] Speaker 2: be watching. Are you saving it up? Yeah, I like
[15:29] Speaker 2: to watch it back to back. Yeah. Just a mindless
[15:33] Speaker 2: show to put on in the background.
[15:35] Speaker 9: Yeah.
[15:36] Speaker 2: They've been doing it for 19 years. Insane. Which is wild.
[15:39] Speaker 9: Yeah.
[15:40] Speaker 2: Long, long time. I wonder how many seasons. What's your guess? 19. No,
[15:46] Speaker 2: because they had a break and then they changed from
[15:48] Speaker 2: Keeping Up with the Kardashians. And they had spinoffs too.
[15:51] Speaker 2: And then they had spinoff shows.
[15:52] Speaker 4: And they have Kylie and Khloe go to Miami or something.
[15:56] Speaker 2: Kourtney and Khloe take Miami. Kevin and Kim go to Costco.
[16:02] Speaker 9: Yeah.
[16:03] Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, the new one, just the Kardashians, has eight seasons.
[16:08] Speaker 7: Yeah.
[16:09] Speaker 2: And then Keeping Up with the Kardashians has 20 seasons. Jeez.
[16:14] Speaker 2: So 28 seasons. Okay. And that's not the spinoffs either.
[16:19] Speaker 9: No.
[16:19] Speaker 2: There's more to add to the list. Anyway, I saw
[16:22] Speaker 2: a clip doing the rounds from this latest season.
[16:25] Speaker 4: Does that include that Revenge Body one?
[16:28] Speaker 2: I don't think so.
[16:29] Speaker 4: Which is the one that tried to get a revenge body.
[16:32] Speaker 2: Chloe hosted a show called Revenge Body.
[16:34] Speaker 9: Yeah.
[16:35] Speaker 2: Where she like would get all of her trainers and
[16:38] Speaker 2: dietitians to help people get revenge bodies. Yeah, they've had
[16:42] Speaker 2: a bunch. They've had a bunch. But saw a clip
[16:45] Speaker 2: from this latest season of the Kardashians that was doing
[16:49] Speaker 2: the rounds where all the sisters were talking about an
[16:54] Speaker 2: inner monologue. Okay. Do you have an inner monologue? I'm
[16:59] Speaker 2: not sure.
[17:00] Speaker 4: Like someone who'd speak, do I speak with someone in
[17:03] Speaker 4: my mind?
[17:04] Speaker 2: Do you have a voice in your head? A good example,
[17:08] Speaker 2: and I feel like they say it in this clip
[17:09] Speaker 2: that we're about to play, but a good example is like,
[17:12] Speaker 2: you know, like when I'm at the gym and I'm
[17:15] Speaker 2: counting like my reps, I'm like one. Oh yeah, I've
[17:18] Speaker 2: got that. Yeah, that's an inner monologue.
[17:19] Speaker 9: Yeah.
[17:20] Speaker 2: So you've got a voice in your head.
[17:21] Speaker 4: In my head, I'm like, should I go over and
[17:23] Speaker 4: use that machine?
[17:23] Speaker 9: Yeah.
[17:24] Speaker 2: Yeah, I've got that. Yeah, okay, yeah, I've got that.
[17:25] Speaker 2: That's what we're talking about. Producers, would you say you've
[17:28] Speaker 2: got an inner monologue? I think I've got three. Okay,
[17:30] Speaker 2: you can talk to someone about that. You need to
[17:33] Speaker 2: go see someone. Producer Grace? I definitely have one, yes.
[17:37] Speaker 2: It's pretty common, I think. Self-talk. Yeah.
[17:40] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[17:41] Speaker 2: I think it's very rare that someone doesn't. Take a
[17:45] Speaker 2: listen to this clip from the latest season of the Kardashians.
[17:50] Speaker 5: Let's say 3% of people do not have an inner dialogue.
[17:54] Speaker 1: Who are these people?
[17:55] Speaker 2: My sister, Kim. I wrote to my family group chat.
[17:58] Speaker 2: I was like, how... nuts is this? Yeah.
[18:00] Speaker 5: Everyone was like, that's not true. This can't be true.
[18:03] Speaker 5: Kim said, what do you guys mean? There's no voices
[18:06] Speaker 5: in my head. I'm like, you've got to be me.
[18:09] Speaker 5: Like I can be with my trainer, you and I
[18:11] Speaker 5: talking and I'm counting my reps in my head. Like I,
[18:14] Speaker 5: my brain, there's like two people, maybe three. I can
[18:17] Speaker 5: have a whole conversation and still be like, I got
[18:19] Speaker 5: to go get the dry cleaning later or whatever.
[18:21] Speaker 2: Kim has nothing.
[18:24] Speaker 4: Wow. Is that how you get 28 seasons of a
[18:26] Speaker 4: television show? Because you just, instead of it being in
[18:29] Speaker 4: your head, it's.
[18:29] Speaker 2: All out loud. Yeah. It's all out loud. Isn't it interesting?
[18:34] Speaker 2: So your thought process happens out loud. I feel like
[18:37] Speaker 2: it's super rare.
[18:38] Speaker 4: I don't know that it's possible. How do you have thoughts?
[18:42] Speaker 4: Because I have the.
[18:43] Speaker 2: Visual version of this. Oh, yeah, we've talked about this.
[18:47] Speaker 2: Which we've talked about. And I've looked it up before
[18:50] Speaker 2: where this is the audio version of it, but I've
[18:53] Speaker 2: got the visual one, which is Amphantasia, where when I
[18:57] Speaker 2: close my eyes and I try and picture something. Like
[19:00] Speaker 2: I say, picture a horse running. And I just see black.
[19:02] Speaker 2: Like I don't see anything. Whereas I don't even need
[19:05] Speaker 2: to close my eyes. You can picture it. Yeah. Yeah, see,
[19:07] Speaker 2: I can't do that. I can tell you what direction
[19:09] Speaker 2: the horse is running in. What colour it is.
[19:11] Speaker 4: I can tell you what colour the horse is. I
[19:13] Speaker 4: can tell you how flowy its mane is. I can
[19:15] Speaker 4: tell you all those things.
[19:16] Speaker 2: I can't do that.
[19:16] Speaker 4: You don't see it?
[19:17] Speaker 2: Nah. How did you draw pictures as a kid? Not
[19:21] Speaker 2: very well. Well, text us if you don't have it
[19:25] Speaker 2: in a monologue. Yeah, do you not have one? What's
[19:26] Speaker 2: life like? Is it quiet? It'd be so quiet and nice,
[19:30] Speaker 2: I reckon.
[19:35] Speaker 4: Brand new Olivia Rodrigo and Chapel Roan on ZM. It's
[19:38] Speaker 4: called Expectations, Thoughts, Feelings.
[19:40] Speaker 2: Chapel Roan is on the up again because I feel
[19:44] Speaker 2: like she had a bit of bad press um back
[19:46] Speaker 2: to back and then she was spotted at the abbey
[19:49] Speaker 2: the other night djing um for national prep day celebrations
[19:54] Speaker 2: and christine aguilera was there kesha was there charlie xex
[19:57] Speaker 2: was there wow and then now on the back of
[20:00] Speaker 2: that and people like chapel roan djing and then now
[20:03] Speaker 2: she's released this with olivia rodrigo well if I mean,
[20:06] Speaker 2: what's not to love?
[20:07] Speaker 4: If Chapel Rona's listening, we have a wonderful new venue
[20:10] Speaker 4: at Western Springs Bowl.
[20:11] Speaker 2: There's a permanent stage set up. Well, she played there.
[20:14] Speaker 2: We are ready for you. She played there earlier this year.
[20:17] Speaker 2: Now she needs to come back and experience the new, upgraded.
[20:20] Speaker 2: She does.
[20:21] Speaker 9: Yeah.
[20:21] Speaker 2: At her own show. Just a thought. We'd love to
[20:23] Speaker 2: have her. Just a thought, Chapel. Just a thought.
[20:25] Speaker 4: This is a weird coincidence. We never do Beatles news
[20:29] Speaker 4: on this show. And today, double Beatles news. You talked
[20:32] Speaker 4: before about John Lennon's kids.
[20:35] Speaker 2: Yes.
[20:35] Speaker 4: I want to talk about Paul McCartney, who was on
[20:37] Speaker 4: Amy Poehler's Good Hang podcast.
[20:39] Speaker 2: Oh, yes.
[20:40] Speaker 4: There are so many news stories that have come out
[20:43] Speaker 4: of this because he is probably the most famous person
[20:47] Speaker 4: in the world, Paul McCartney.
[20:49] Speaker 2: You reckon? He's a Beatle. I know, but the most
[20:53] Speaker 2: famous person in the world, there'd be a lot of
[20:56] Speaker 2: young people who don't know who that is. Yeah, but you.
[20:58] Speaker 4: Go to a rest home, every single person there knows
[21:00] Speaker 4: who he is. You go to a bowls club, every
[21:02] Speaker 4: single person there knows who he is.
[21:04] Speaker 2: You know who he is. Yeah, I know who he is,
[21:06] Speaker 2: but I'm just saying, this is actually a really interesting
[21:09] Speaker 2: conversation for another day.
[21:10] Speaker 4: I think he's probably the most famous living musician.
[21:13] Speaker 2: I think at one point in time, no, I have
[21:15] Speaker 2: to disagree.
[21:16] Speaker 7: Right.
[21:17] Speaker 2: At one point in time, he 100% would have been,
[21:20] Speaker 2: but not right now. That's who? Chapel Rhone? No, not
[21:23] Speaker 2: Chapel Rhone, but this is what the conversation would be.
[21:25] Speaker 2: It'd be somewhere that's in the middle. Yeah.
[21:29] Speaker 4: He talked to Amy Poehler about his earliest memory, which
[21:32] Speaker 4: is very interesting. Have a listen to what Paul McCartney
[21:35] Speaker 4: said about his earliest memory.
[21:36] Speaker 9: I have this feeling that I can remember being born.
[21:40] Speaker 9: I was born in a place in Liverpool called Walton Hospital.
[21:42] Speaker 9: So I kind of remember white tiles, very sort of
[21:46] Speaker 9: hygienic white tiles and chrome tiles. instruments and clanging because
[21:53] Speaker 9: I was a forceps birth.
[21:56] Speaker 2: They had to pull me out. He can remember his
[21:58] Speaker 2: own birth. Paul's had too much whiskey again. Who gave
[22:02] Speaker 2: Paul too much whiskey before the podcast?
[22:04] Speaker 4: He's not the only one. And he's not even the
[22:07] Speaker 4: only famous people who reckon they can remember their own birth.
[22:10] Speaker 4: Nicholas Cage has frequently talked about his own birth.
[22:15] Speaker 2: Not just his birth.
[22:16] Speaker 4: Nicholas Cage believes that he can remember being in utero.
[22:20] Speaker 4: Nicholas Cage thinks he can remember when he was inside
[22:24] Speaker 4: the womb.
[22:25] Speaker 2: Nicholas Cage loves to say outrageous things. Whether they're true
[22:29] Speaker 2: or not, I don't know. I do believe, yes, there
[22:32] Speaker 2: are people. I think it's very, very rare. There was
[22:35] Speaker 2: that woman who... Remember we talked about her recently. There's
[22:39] Speaker 2: been two women who've been identified as people who can
[22:44] Speaker 2: remember every single day of their life. Yes. Which is...
[22:48] Speaker 2: Crazy to even think. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But they say
[22:50] Speaker 2: it's very, very rare condition. Do I think Paul McCartney
[22:54] Speaker 2: is one of them? I mean, he could be. Who knows?
[22:56] Speaker 4: He doesn't claim to remember everything. He just says he
[22:59] Speaker 4: thinks he can remember his birth. But he also says
[23:01] Speaker 4: he's not sure if he made it up or not.
[23:03] Speaker 2: Okay, well.
[23:04] Speaker 4: Do you remember former producer of this show, Ella, who
[23:08] Speaker 4: believes that she can remember 9-11, which happened before she
[23:12] Speaker 4: turned one?
[23:13] Speaker 2: Yeah. So she was alive. She was a baby.
[23:16] Speaker 10: Yeah.
[23:17] Speaker 4: But she was not yet 12 months old and she believes,
[23:21] Speaker 4: she remembers seeing her mum watch 9-11 on TV.
[23:25] Speaker 2: And here's the thing, right? I think our brains trick us.
[23:30] Speaker 2: Where we've seen a lot of footage and your brain
[23:35] Speaker 2: maybe thinks that you have memories, but it's memories that
[23:40] Speaker 2: your brain has formed from pieces of footage that you
[23:42] Speaker 2: watch later on.
[23:43] Speaker 4: I have two memories from my childhood, which I believe
[23:46] Speaker 4: are my earliest memories, but there's also a photograph.
[23:49] Speaker 2: Of those memories.
[23:50] Speaker 4: And so I don't know if I actually remember them
[23:53] Speaker 4: or if I've constructed a memory around looking at the photo.
[23:57] Speaker 2: And this is what kids.
[23:58] Speaker 4: These days are going to run into because there are
[24:00] Speaker 4: so many photos and so many videos of kids these
[24:03] Speaker 4: days because of our phones. Basically, their entire childhood is documented.
[24:07] Speaker 4: And if they watch those, they won't be able to
[24:09] Speaker 4: know what they actually remember from being there or what
[24:13] Speaker 4: they just know because they've seen it in 4K before.
[24:17] Speaker 2: Yeah. From two parents' different phone angles. Yeah. I feel
[24:21] Speaker 2: like my earliest memory is when I was like three.
[24:23] Speaker 8: Yeah.
[24:24] Speaker 2: Because I feel like I have memories of when my
[24:26] Speaker 2: brother was born. Okay. Who is three years younger than me. Yeah.
[24:30] Speaker 2: And I remember having... like memories of being at the
[24:34] Speaker 2: motel with my nan.
[24:36] Speaker 9: Yeah.
[24:36] Speaker 2: Because obviously my nan was looking after us and what
[24:39] Speaker 2: she like fed us for breakfast and stuff. And there's
[24:41] Speaker 2: no photos of that.
[24:42] Speaker 4: And how confident are you that it's a real memory?
[24:44] Speaker 2: I'm pretty confident because I remember it was those little
[24:47] Speaker 2: mini cereals that you used to get. And I remember
[24:50] Speaker 2: my nan giving us a choice. Okay. Which would have
[24:53] Speaker 2: been a big thing for a three-year-old. It was a
[24:54] Speaker 2: huge thing. It was the best thing ever. Because I
[24:56] Speaker 2: remember choosing like fruit. I remember those mini cereals. How
[24:58] Speaker 2: good were those mini cereals? They were the best.
[25:00] Speaker 4: You got like eight of them in the box and
[25:01] Speaker 4: you had like a Wheat Bix and a Corn Flakes.
[25:03] Speaker 2: Like Fruit Loops, Cocoa Pops. Yeah, it was great.
[25:07] Speaker 4: This is a real, real long one. This is a
[25:12] Speaker 4: real needle in a haystack. Do you think you remember
[25:17] Speaker 4: your own birth? Do you think you remember being born?
[25:22] Speaker 4: It does happen, or at least people claim that they
[25:27] Speaker 4: can remember it. And if not your birth, do you
[25:30] Speaker 4: have a crazy early memory that you should not have?
[25:34] Speaker 4: I'm talking about earlier than three years old. I'm talking
[25:36] Speaker 4: Ella as a 10-month-old remembering 9-11.
[25:39] Speaker 2: Do you remember when you took your first baby steps?
[25:43] Speaker 9: Yeah.
[25:44] Speaker 2: That's pretty early.
[25:44] Speaker 4: Do you remember the taste of breast milk?
[25:47] Speaker 2: And you can't have breastfed until you're seven.
[25:49] Speaker 7: Yeah.
[25:50] Speaker 2: That doesn't count. And you can't have just tried some
[25:52] Speaker 2: of your wife's.
[25:54] Speaker 4: Paul McCartney's done Amy Poehler's Good Hang podcast, and on
[25:59] Speaker 4: there she asked him what his earliest memory is, and
[26:02] Speaker 4: he said that he can remember being born.
[26:05] Speaker 2: Do you believe him?
[26:06] Speaker 4: He said he remembers his own birth. I believe that
[26:09] Speaker 4: he believes it. I believe that he believes it. As
[26:13] Speaker 4: a person whose first memory that I can vouch for
[26:17] Speaker 4: This is my first day of school. It doesn't compute
[26:22] Speaker 4: for me. Like this person who said, I can't remember
[26:25] Speaker 4: why I went into a different room. It's pretty mad
[26:28] Speaker 4: to be remembering your own birth.
[26:30] Speaker 2: I have to agree. I can barely remember last weekend.
[26:33] Speaker 4: You know, my brain is so fried from these phones.
[26:36] Speaker 4: I don't remember why I opened an app sometimes. You know,
[26:39] Speaker 4: you'll open an app and you'll go, why am I here?
[26:42] Speaker 2: It's because there's so many bloody stimulating things going on
[26:46] Speaker 2: in our brains these days. So can you remember your
[26:49] Speaker 2: own birth?
[26:50] Speaker 4: It's a long shot, but we're asking for it, or
[26:52] Speaker 4: at least something incredibly early in your life. Anthea, you
[26:55] Speaker 4: reckon you can.
[26:56] Speaker 2: Hi.
[26:58] Speaker 7: Is that you?
[26:59] Speaker 2: Yeah, that's... Hi.
[27:01] Speaker 7: I can't remember my birth. I can remember... I have
[27:05] Speaker 7: quite a few memories from when I was probably 18 months,
[27:08] Speaker 7: two years old.
[27:08] Speaker 8: Okay.
[27:11] Speaker 7: And I remember having these weird dreams when I was
[27:14] Speaker 7: about that age that I feel like may have been
[27:18] Speaker 7: memories from in utero.
[27:22] Speaker 2: Okay. What do you remember about being in utero?
[27:27] Speaker 7: I remember it being really hard to describe.
[27:34] Speaker 2: Was it wet? Was it warm? No, it was so.
[27:41] Speaker 7: Do you remember the Simpsons episode where Homer goes into
[27:48] Speaker 7: a 3D world?
[27:48] Speaker 2: Oh, where he goes behind the bookshelf. Yes, I do.
[27:51] Speaker 7: It was somewhat like that. Obviously not as animated. But
[28:01] Speaker 7: I remember just having a feeling of, When.
[28:06] Speaker 4: You tell people this story, Anthea, how many people believe you?
[28:10] Speaker 2: Like, no judgment, but.
[28:12] Speaker 7: I don't tell many people.
[28:14] Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. Because you feel like they won't believe you?
[28:18] Speaker 8: Probably.
[28:19] Speaker 4: Because you feel like they'll have you sent off to
[28:22] Speaker 4: a special hospital.
[28:23] Speaker 2: People will be like, oh, Anthea, she's losing it. Uh-oh.
[28:26] Speaker 4: Thank you, Anthea. Can you remember being born, or at
[28:28] Speaker 4: least something really early, we asked. Someone said, my mum
[28:31] Speaker 4: insists that she remembers her own birth from the 1960s.
[28:35] Speaker 2: Rachel is a bit fruity, though. Good on you, Rachel.
[28:39] Speaker 2: Someone said, I remember coming out of my dad. Explosive experience. Oh, disgusting.
[28:46] Speaker 2: Dads can't give birth. Someone said, does Bree remember her
[28:49] Speaker 2: first poo in the ocean? That is something I, that
[28:52] Speaker 2: is burnt onto my retinas, that memory. And ours. We'll
[28:57] Speaker 2: never forget that.
[28:59] Speaker 4: Someone said, I remember crawling into the lounge at my
[29:01] Speaker 4: nan's house and I looked up and I saw her smoking.
[29:04] Speaker 2: I would have been less than a year old. Okay.
[29:08] Speaker 2: How do you know? How do you know you remember it?
[29:10] Speaker 2: And how do you know you were less than a
[29:12] Speaker 2: year old?
[29:13] Speaker 4: Not my birth, but I remember my second birthday walking
[29:16] Speaker 4: down the hallway for a nap before my party. I
[29:18] Speaker 4: also remember a particular puppet toy that I got for
[29:20] Speaker 4: my birthday. It's just so hard to know if you
[29:23] Speaker 4: actually remember it though.
[29:24] Speaker 2: You know?
[29:25] Speaker 9: Yeah.
[29:25] Speaker 10: Yeah.
[29:26] Speaker 2: One said, I remember putting my hand in wet concrete
[29:28] Speaker 2: as a child. I distinctly remember what I was wearing.
[29:31] Speaker 2: And when I went back years later, the date told
[29:34] Speaker 2: me I was 15 months old.
[29:36] Speaker 4: See, that one's interesting to me because there's a few
[29:39] Speaker 4: more details.
[29:39] Speaker 2: What are this?
[29:40] Speaker 4: Because we said, what if it's a photo? What if
[29:42] Speaker 4: you've created a memory from a photo? Paul said, years ago,
[29:45] Speaker 4: I asked my parents what the name of the parrot
[29:47] Speaker 4: was that we had when I was a baby. They
[29:49] Speaker 4: said we never had one. I described the parrot and
[29:53] Speaker 4: the cage as and where in the house it was.
[29:56] Speaker 4: It turns out that that was my grandfather's parrot. I
[29:59] Speaker 4: only ever visited him once before he died, and I
[30:03] Speaker 4: was less than three months old. There are no photos
[30:06] Speaker 4: or any reason for me to know about this.
[30:11] Speaker 2: Interesting. Does that one freak you out at all? Does
[30:13] Speaker 2: that one give you... Yeah, but are you sure there's
[30:17] Speaker 2: no photos? You know, like are you sure you had
[30:20] Speaker 2: never seen a photo?
[30:21] Speaker 4: Yeah, or are you sure that you didn't overhear a
[30:24] Speaker 4: conversation with your parents about the bird.
[30:26] Speaker 2: When you were really young and then you've.
[30:28] Speaker 4: Then interpolated that conversation into a memory?
[30:32] Speaker 2: It's hard to know. Yeah, right. I would love to
[30:36] Speaker 2: get that woman on the show, the one that has,
[30:39] Speaker 2: I can't remember what, It's actually called, but it's her
[30:43] Speaker 2: and this other woman and they've been diagnosed with this
[30:46] Speaker 2: condition where they can remember every.
[30:48] Speaker 4: Single day of their life. Yeah, I've seen them on
[30:50] Speaker 4: 60 Minutes.
[30:51] Speaker 2: Yeah, remember she has that amazing talent where any Harry
[30:54] Speaker 2: Potter book, she can open to a page and she
[30:57] Speaker 2: can tell you the first word on that page because
[31:00] Speaker 2: she has a photographic memory. It's crazy. It's wild. It's crazy.
[31:03] Speaker 1: It's ZM's Brie and Clint podcast.
[31:07] Speaker 2: What the hell? What? Here we go. We take it
[31:15] Speaker 2: in turns with teammates, guessing songs as quickly as possible.
[31:20] Speaker 2: Whoever comes out on top are the winners.
[31:23] Speaker 4: Ashley, you're going to work with me this afternoon to
[31:25] Speaker 4: score yourself 50 KFC chicken dollars.
[31:27] Speaker 2: How are you doing? I'm doing good.
[31:29] Speaker 8: I'm ready for this.
[31:30] Speaker 2: Are you going to Olivia Dean?
[31:31] Speaker 4: No, I'm not. Okay, I was wondering if we were
[31:34] Speaker 4: going to give you beer money for Olivia Dean, but.
[31:37] Speaker 7: Okay, I guess so. Even though I'm not going to
[31:40] Speaker 7: Olivia Deen's.
[31:40] Speaker 4: Actually, no, it's chicken dollars, so it's chicken money. Don't
[31:42] Speaker 4: worry about that. You're in the running.
[31:44] Speaker 2: We'll do our best. And that means, Emma, you're on
[31:46] Speaker 2: my team. G'day. G'day. G'day, g'day.
[31:50] Speaker 8: I'm so excited being on your team, Bree.
[31:51] Speaker 2: Mate, I'm excited that you're here too. Let's win you
[31:54] Speaker 2: this KFC, okay?
[31:56] Speaker 8: Oh, awesome.
[31:57] Speaker 2: Let's do it.
[31:57] Speaker 4: Claudia, you're in charge.
[31:59] Speaker 10: Thank you. Appreciate that.
[32:00] Speaker 2: Of the game. Oh, I see, I see.
[32:03] Speaker 10: All right, the way it works is I'm going to
[32:05] Speaker 10: start a song right from the beginning of the song.
[32:07] Speaker 2: You just need to.
[32:07] Speaker 10: Buzz in and tell me the artist and the.
[32:09] Speaker 2: Name of the song.
[32:10] Speaker 10: Working in teams, the first team to three points will
[32:12] Speaker 10: take home the win. Since Olivia Rodrigo and Chapel Roan
[32:16] Speaker 10: dropped their version of Expectations, they did a collab together.
[32:20] Speaker 10: All of these songs have two massive artists collaborating on
[32:23] Speaker 10: one song.
[32:23] Speaker 2: Do we have to give you both artists' names?
[32:25] Speaker 10: I'm going to be really nice and just say one.
[32:27] Speaker 2: Okay.
[32:28] Speaker 10: Bonus points which count for nothing if you can give
[32:30] Speaker 10: me both.
[32:31] Speaker 2: All right. Glory. Yeah, fair. Show off points. Yeah, exactly.
[32:34] Speaker 10: Okay, Brie and Clint, you guys will do the first round.
[32:37] Speaker 10: Buzz in with your name if you know it.
[32:38] Speaker 2: Here it is.
[32:39] Speaker 9: Great.
[32:40] Speaker 2: That's Fancy, Iggy Azalea and Charli XEX.
[32:43] Speaker 10: Well done.
[32:47] Speaker 2: That song will haunt me for the rest of my life.
[32:51] Speaker 2: That song is Brie core. That's how I describe that song.
[32:59] Speaker 2: One point for Team Brie.
[33:01] Speaker 10: So Ashley and Emma, that's how.
[33:02] Speaker 2: The game works. Come on, Ash. Come on, Ash. Come on, Emma.
[33:05] Speaker 2: Come on, Ash.
[33:05] Speaker 10: Okay, here is your song.
[33:10] Speaker 4: Ashley?
[33:11] Speaker 2: Yes, Ashley.
[33:12] Speaker 7: That's Telephone by Lady Gaga and Beyonce.
[33:14] Speaker 2: Nice one. Well done. I'd panic this one. They reckon
[33:22] Speaker 2: part two is coming of this. Oh, they've said part
[33:25] Speaker 2: two's coming for like 10 years. No, they literally, Lady
[33:28] Speaker 2: Gaga said it last year. Yeah, right. Because at the
[33:30] Speaker 2: end of the film clip of this, it says to
[33:32] Speaker 2: be continued. Yeah, I'll believe it when I see it, Gaga. Yeah,
[33:34] Speaker 2: me too.
[33:35] Speaker 10: Okay, we are one apiece at the moment. Brie and Clint,
[33:38] Speaker 10: this is for you.
[33:40] Speaker 4: Brie.
[33:41] Speaker 2: No, no. Yes, Brie. Is that Justin Bieber? Nah, it's not.
[33:47] Speaker 2: I don't care. I was like, wait, is it not?
[33:51] Speaker 2: Rumoured to be in the country at the moment, Justin Bieber.
[33:54] Speaker 9: He is, yeah.
[34:03] Speaker 2: Emma. Such a bad loser. No, I'm not a bad
[34:05] Speaker 2: loser because I haven't lost yet. That's true, that's true. Oh,
[34:09] Speaker 2: has he not? No, you're on two points. Oh, we're
[34:11] Speaker 2: on two, yeah, yeah.
[34:11] Speaker 10: Which means, Emma, if you get this one, you'll take
[34:14] Speaker 10: home the win.
[34:14] Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Ashley, if you
[34:17] Speaker 2: get this one, it's going to be even. That's the
[34:19] Speaker 2: way to say it, Claudia.
[34:19] Speaker 10: No, because Bree's on two points and you're on one.
[34:22] Speaker 2: Emma, put the nail in the coffin.
[34:24] Speaker 10: Here's your song, guys.
[34:27] Speaker 4: Ashley Swift.
[34:28] Speaker 2: Yes, Ashley, yes.
[34:30] Speaker 8: Matt is Timber, Kesha featuring Pitbull.
[34:32] Speaker 2: She's so good. Far out. Very well done, Ashley. You
[34:38] Speaker 2: can't fault you. Okay, pity you about your obnoxious partner.
[34:44] Speaker 2: Emma and I are just here for... You're the vibes higher.
[34:48] Speaker 2: We're just here to watch.
[34:49] Speaker 10: Okay, it is all tied up now.
[34:52] Speaker 4: We're watching the Ashley and Brie show.
[34:55] Speaker 2: I'd watch that.
[34:56] Speaker 10: Okay, this one's for the win.
[34:58] Speaker 2: Can I propose something?
[34:59] Speaker 9: Yeah.
[34:59] Speaker 4: This round is just Brie versus Ashley. Emery and I
[35:02] Speaker 4: will sit out.
[35:04] Speaker 2: Okay.
[35:04] Speaker 9: Yeah, okay.
[35:05] Speaker 2: I've done all the work. They deserve all the glory.
[35:08] Speaker 2: You've done all the work? No, they've done all the work.
[35:11] Speaker 2: Ashley and I.
[35:12] Speaker 10: I see. Yeah, okay. Ashley versus Brie for the win.
[35:16] Speaker 10: This is your last song.
[35:17] Speaker 2: Good luck. Sorry, wrong one. That was a trick. That
[35:21] Speaker 2: was a trick. That was a trick. Hear how fast
[35:25] Speaker 2: Ashley was, though. She was fine. I'm so nervous. I'm
[35:28] Speaker 2: absolutely bricking it. All right, this is the real one.
[35:31] Speaker 2: Here we go. Brie.
[35:34] Speaker 7: Ashley.
[35:36] Speaker 2: Brie. That is Lady Gaga in Ariana Grande. No more
[35:46] Speaker 2: tears to cry?
[35:47] Speaker 7: No.
[35:47] Speaker 2: Holy shit, Ash.
[35:48] Speaker 1: It's rain on me.
[35:49] Speaker 2: It's rain on me. What a game. I loved it.
[35:57] Speaker 2: What a game. Well done, Ashley.
[36:02] Speaker 4: Thank you.
[36:03] Speaker 10: No, it's not.
[36:04] Speaker 8: It's not it.
[36:05] Speaker 4: It's like that Kiwis Kangaroos game last night.
[36:08] Speaker 2: Could have gone either way. You never knew what was happening. Ash,
[36:11] Speaker 2: you did it.
[36:12] Speaker 8: That was so stressful.
[36:13] Speaker 2: Yeah. You deserve it, Ashley. Well done, mate. 50 KFC
[36:16] Speaker 2: chicken dollars.
[36:17] Speaker 4: You think you were stressed? Try being me and Emma.
[36:21] Speaker 6: I am a.
[36:28] Speaker 4: I realised today that I never truly understood a saying
[36:32] Speaker 4: that I've heard my entire life. And you would have
[36:34] Speaker 4: heard it too, this saying. And I thought I understood it,
[36:37] Speaker 4: but I don't. This clip explains it. See if you
[36:41] Speaker 4: agree with this person as to the real meaning behind
[36:45] Speaker 4: this saying.
[36:45] Speaker 11: I just saw a video of a guy and he's
[36:47] Speaker 11: saying about the phrase, not if I see you first.
[36:50] Speaker 11: So it's like, oh, I'll see you later, not if
[36:51] Speaker 11: I see you first. And he was saying he never
[36:53] Speaker 11: understood it. And I was like, you know what? I
[36:55] Speaker 11: bet I also don't understand this. When you go, oh,
[36:58] Speaker 11: I'll see you later. It's like, yeah, not if I
[37:00] Speaker 11: see you first because I'm going to see you before
[37:01] Speaker 11: you see me. I'll see you from a different angle
[37:03] Speaker 11: and then you're going to turn and you'll see me.
[37:04] Speaker 11: So I've seen you first.
[37:05] Speaker 9: No, no, no, no.
[37:06] Speaker 11: It's not if I see you first because if I
[37:08] Speaker 11: see you first, I'm going to avoid you.
[37:12] Speaker 4: The real saying is not if I see you first,
[37:14] Speaker 4: so you extend it. You say to me, see you later,
[37:16] Speaker 4: and I say not if I see you first because
[37:18] Speaker 4: I'll avoid you.
[37:19] Speaker 2: Yeah, isn't it like? Yeah, Grace. Isn't it like not
[37:22] Speaker 2: if I see you first? Yeah, because I'll avoid you. Yeah.
[37:26] Speaker 2: So you won't see me later.
[37:27] Speaker 5: Yeah.
[37:27] Speaker 2: Because if I see you first. Then I'm hiding.
[37:30] Speaker 4: If I see you first, you won't see me later.
[37:33] Speaker 2: I've learned something new. Me too. Yeah, I don't think
[37:36] Speaker 2: I'd ever thought about me neither that way. Now I'm
[37:41] Speaker 2: thinking about all my interactions. Are we sure? No, we're
[37:44] Speaker 2: not sure. No, no, we're not sure. Because this is
[37:47] Speaker 2: just something we've seen on the internet, some.
[37:48] Speaker 4: Guy saying something on the internet. No, we're not sure.
[37:50] Speaker 4: But it's a different way of interpreting it.
[37:52] Speaker 2: It's a very different way.
[37:53] Speaker 4: Which kind of makes more sense because see you later,
[37:56] Speaker 4: not if I see you first, that actually doesn't make
[37:58] Speaker 4: sense the old way because I will still see you.
[38:01] Speaker 4: I just won't see you first, you know? But if
[38:05] Speaker 4: I see you first, you won't see me at all
[38:07] Speaker 4: because I'll turn the other way and I'll avoid you.
[38:10] Speaker 2: I'm just looking it up. The phrase not if I
[38:14] Speaker 2: see you first is a sarcastic or playful reply to
[38:17] Speaker 2: a farewell like see you later. It means that if
[38:23] Speaker 2: the speaker spots you coming before you notice them, they
[38:26] Speaker 2: will hide, turn around, cross the street. It's true. Yeah.
[38:29] Speaker 2: It's true. That's what it says.
[38:32] Speaker 4: And none of us understood it like that.
[38:33] Speaker 2: Just quick poll of the room.
[38:34] Speaker 4: No one here understood it like that, did they?
[38:36] Speaker 2: No, I've never thought about it in that way.
[38:39] Speaker 9: Weird.
[38:41] Speaker 2: It's funny how over time things get lost. It's like
[38:45] Speaker 2: other sayings where the second part of the saying gets
[38:48] Speaker 2: dropped and then turns into being interpreted as something different.
[38:52] Speaker 4: What was it we talked about the other week? Imitation
[38:55] Speaker 4: is the sincerest form of flattery.
[38:57] Speaker 2: What was the end of that saying? It's quite good
[39:00] Speaker 2: because it's really passive aggressive. It added a whole other element.
[39:06] Speaker 2: Imitation is the sincerest full quote.
[39:09] Speaker 4: The full quote is actually, imitation is the sincerest form
[39:14] Speaker 4: of flattery that mediocrity can pay to greatness.
[39:17] Speaker 2: Yeah, so it just adds that extra knife in the back. Yeah. Yeah,
[39:21] Speaker 2: like just really like.
[39:22] Speaker 4: Yeah, you copied me because you're average.
[39:24] Speaker 2: You have no creativity and you need to copy someone
[39:26] Speaker 2: like me who's better than you. And I am great.
[39:28] Speaker 2: Like that, yeah. There you go.
[39:30] Speaker 1: You go.
[39:33] Speaker 4: Earlier this year, Brie and I released our very own chip.
[39:36] Speaker 2: This chip right here. The hot honey crispy chicken heartland chip.
[39:40] Speaker 2: The heartland chip. My dad, for the first time ever,
[39:45] Speaker 2: said that he was truly proud of me. That's right.
[39:48] Speaker 2: We sent him a whole box of the chips, didn't we? Yeah.
[39:50] Speaker 2: He said, what? You've got your own chip? That's amazing.
[39:54] Speaker 2: Record sales. I'm so proud of you. And this is
[39:58] Speaker 2: no BS. Apparently one of the most successful collab chips ever.
[40:03] Speaker 4: That's not us trying to be humble. That's us trying
[40:05] Speaker 4: to brag with real stats.
[40:06] Speaker 2: Yeah, and I'm happy to brag, but that's true.
[40:09] Speaker 4: So thank you guys for embracing the Brie and Clint chip.
[40:12] Speaker 2: I mean, and Heartland did it because the flavour is
[40:14] Speaker 2: very good.
[40:14] Speaker 4: And thank you, Heartland, for producing such great potatoes for
[40:17] Speaker 4: the chips. So in light of that, we have chip news.
[40:22] Speaker 4: But we can't give you all of the chip news
[40:24] Speaker 4: for legal reasons yet, can we?
[40:26] Speaker 2: Yes, yes. We can tell you that we can give
[40:28] Speaker 2: all the details on Monday.
[40:30] Speaker 4: We can tell you that we are working with Heartland
[40:33] Speaker 4: Chips again.
[40:34] Speaker 2: Mm-hmm. And there will be money for you guys to win.
[40:39] Speaker 4: There'll be another $ 10, 000 up for grabs.
[40:41] Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
[40:42] Speaker 4: It's going to be a little bit different than last year.
[40:46] Speaker 2: And I'm going to say... How can I say this without... Yeah,
[40:49] Speaker 2: how can you say it? I'm going to say... You
[40:52] Speaker 2: guys will have more control. Oh, okay. Than last time.
[40:58] Speaker 2: I think you can say that. I think that's fine
[41:00] Speaker 2: to say.
[41:00] Speaker 4: I think we can say the Heartland Chips company is
[41:04] Speaker 4: still involved. The Bowen family are still involved. So it's
[41:08] Speaker 4: still going to involve very good chips. But we can't
[41:12] Speaker 4: really say any more than that until Monday.
[41:13] Speaker 9: Yeah.
[41:14] Speaker 2: But it's very exciting. Is that enough?
[41:16] Speaker 4: Did we say enough without saying anything and not say
[41:18] Speaker 4: too much without saying nothing at all?
[41:20] Speaker 2: God, there's nothing more than I hate an influencer making
[41:25] Speaker 2: a video about them not being able to say anything,
[41:28] Speaker 2: but something big is coming.
[41:30] Speaker 4: Or a politician making an announcement about an announcement. There'll
[41:33] Speaker 4: be an announcement soon.
[41:34] Speaker 2: That's what we've done, haven't we? Yeah, we've made an
[41:36] Speaker 2: announcement about an announcement we're going to do Next week,
[41:40] Speaker 2: on Monday. Anyway, we'll do it on Monday as soon
[41:42] Speaker 2: as we can.
[41:42] Speaker 4: Heartland is New Zealand's only 100% owned, NZ owned, and
[41:47] Speaker 4: family operated potato chip company from their farm to you.
[41:51] Speaker 2: Someone said on the text machine, I've purchased over 100
[41:54] Speaker 2: bags of your guys' limited edition hot honey crispy chicken
[41:57] Speaker 2: Heartland chips. Damn. Told you they were good. Someone else said,
[42:02] Speaker 2: can you guys please keep producing those chips? They are
[42:05] Speaker 2: the best. We'll tell you what we can tell you
[42:07] Speaker 2: on Monday, okay?
[42:09] Speaker 1: ZDM's Brie and Clint podcast.
[42:12] Speaker 2: Ladies and gentlemen, Brie and Clint's Friday Hokies. It's back.
[42:22] Speaker 4: We know you missed it. Deep down, you missed it.
[42:25] Speaker 4: Go on. It's our special singing feature where Brie and
[42:28] Speaker 4: I go into the booth with a professional. We pick
[42:31] Speaker 4: a song, we cover it, and you guys tell us
[42:33] Speaker 4: who did the best version of it. This week, ahead
[42:36] Speaker 4: of a huge show at Western Springs Bowl, we're doing
[42:38] Speaker 4: Olivia Deen.
[42:39] Speaker 2: I'm taking bubble for baby sleep. We haven't covered that
[42:44] Speaker 2: many Olivia Deen songs, so we haven't ruined a heap
[42:47] Speaker 2: of her music, but today we will ruin this song
[42:50] Speaker 2: for you.
[42:50] Speaker 4: Someone just texted us to say Olivia Deen is sound
[42:53] Speaker 4: checking at Western Springs right now.
[42:55] Speaker 2: That's awesome.
[42:56] Speaker 4: You'll definitely be able to hear it if you're in
[42:58] Speaker 4: the area.
[42:58] Speaker 2: That's so cool.
[42:59] Speaker 4: And at Western Springs, if you've never been there before,
[43:01] Speaker 4: it's this huge amphitheatre, natural amphitheatre, and at.
[43:04] Speaker 2: The top, the people with houses at the top have
[43:07] Speaker 2: all built.
[43:07] Speaker 4: Decks so they can look down into Western Springs and
[43:10] Speaker 4: get free concerts. So they'll be able to see Olivia
[43:12] Speaker 4: Deen right now.
[43:13] Speaker 2: That'd be pretty cool, eh?
[43:15] Speaker 4: And if you don't have tickets or you can't hear that,
[43:18] Speaker 4: this is the next best thing. A performance of Olivia
[43:20] Speaker 4: Deen from Brie and Clint.
[43:22] Speaker 2: If you're not going to Olivia Deen tomorrow, this is
[43:27] Speaker 2: the next best thing.
[43:28] Speaker 10: Yeah.
[43:29] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[43:30] Speaker 4: Rock, paper, scissors for who's going first. Okay.
[43:32] Speaker 2: Rock, paper, scissors, shoot. Bam. Brie's up. Here it is.
[43:35] Speaker 2: Anything you want to say about your performance? No, I
[43:39] Speaker 2: killed this one. I killed it. All right. In a
[43:43] Speaker 2: good way or bad way, I'll let the people decide.
[43:45] Speaker 4: You'll hear Bree's and then mine.
[43:47] Speaker 2: Good luck, Bree.
[43:47] Speaker 9: Thank you.
[44:04] Speaker 2: You're closer than you are.
[44:06] Speaker 1: In truth, we're worlds apart.
[44:10] Speaker 2: I'm used to being near you. When I'm down to 10%
[44:16] Speaker 2: and you plug me straight back in. Now there's no
[44:20] Speaker 2: one to text when the plane lands or to call
[44:24] Speaker 2: when it's taking off.
[44:26] Speaker 4: Right, left, right. Baby steps, I'll be my own pair
[44:31] Speaker 4: of safe hands.
[44:33] Speaker 2: It's not the end, it's the making of.
[44:36] Speaker 3: Right, left, for now I'm taking b-b-b-baby steps.
[44:45] Speaker 2: B-b-b-baby steps.
[44:50] Speaker 3: B-b-b-baby steps.
[44:59] Speaker 2: A soulful queen. I think that was about two good notes.
[45:03] Speaker 2: But I'm hanging on to those two notes because I
[45:05] Speaker 2: don't reckon you hit the two good notes that I hit.
[45:08] Speaker 2: You reckon those will get you through? Maybe. I don't know.
[45:10] Speaker 2: I'm positive. I'm glass half full this week. Yeah, I
[45:12] Speaker 2: think it was great.
[45:13] Speaker 4: You're very new to the Friday Oaky experience. How would
[45:17] Speaker 4: you rate that?
[45:18] Speaker 8: No, no, no.
[45:19] Speaker 2: I reckon she should hear yours. Oh, okay. And then
[45:21] Speaker 2: she should, like, give an overview.
[45:23] Speaker 9: Oh, okay.
[45:24] Speaker 4: Yeah, right.
[45:24] Speaker 9: Okay.
[45:24] Speaker 4: So not until she's heard both.
[45:26] Speaker 2: I think she needs to hear both. That's fair. That's fair.
[45:28] Speaker 2: That's fair. I could live to regret this. Well, here
[45:31] Speaker 2: it is. Grace is very honest. She's honest to a fault.
[45:34] Speaker 4: Here's my Olivia Dean for Friday O'Keefe.
[45:36] Speaker 2: Best of luck.
[45:39] Speaker 11: Oh, no.
[45:42] Speaker 2: Be constipated. Got a ball gagging. It's funny in the
[45:48] Speaker 2: rear view.
[45:52] Speaker 3: You're closer than you are.
[45:54] Speaker 2: In truth, we're worlds apart. I'm used to being near you.
[46:02] Speaker 3: When I'm down on 10% and you plug me straight
[46:05] Speaker 3: back in.
[46:07] Speaker 2: Now there's no one to text when the.
[46:09] Speaker 3: Plane lands or to call when it's taken off. Right, left, right.
[46:16] Speaker 3: Baby steps. I'll be my own pair of safe hands.
[46:21] Speaker 3: Not the end, it's the making of. Right, left. For
[46:26] Speaker 3: now I'm taking buh-buh-buh baby steps. Buh-buh-buh baby steps. Buh-buh-buh
[46:39] Speaker 3: baby steps. Buh-buh-buh baby steps.
[46:48] Speaker 4: It's my Olivia Dean for Friday, okay?
[46:51] Speaker 2: Baby steps. Yeah, baby steps. Baby steps. Baby steps. Now, Grace,
[46:55] Speaker 2: you are free to pass judgment. Just the way that
[46:58] Speaker 2: Bree did the.
[47:00] Speaker 2: I hated that. Baby.
[47:05] Speaker 10: Clint did better than I thought he would.
[47:07] Speaker 2: Okay.
[47:07] Speaker 8: And I'm thinking because Olivia is like the original singer
[47:09] Speaker 8: and she's a female and I'm comparing Brie to her,
[47:12] Speaker 8: but you can kind of be your own thing.
[47:14] Speaker 2: I'm Oliver Dean. Yeah, you're Oliver Dean. Yeah, yeah. I think,
[47:18] Speaker 2: to be honest, I thought both of ours were pretty
[47:20] Speaker 2: bad this week. I think they were just flat.
[47:23] Speaker 4: What do you mean this week?
[47:25] Speaker 2: Well, I'm just going off of this week. We don't
[47:26] Speaker 2: need to comment on all the other weeks. I feel
[47:28] Speaker 2: like both were pretty average, but you just got me
[47:32] Speaker 2: in the end. But both were just flat. Yeah, I agree.
[47:35] Speaker 2: Just real flat.
[47:36] Speaker 4: Someone said, Clint, singing louder doesn't make you better.
[47:40] Speaker 2: I have one setting, okay? Look, Grace's vote doesn't count.
[47:44] Speaker 2: Bree's vote doesn't count.
[47:46] Speaker 10: No.
[47:46] Speaker 4: My vote doesn't count. Five votes on 0800 dial ZM
[47:51] Speaker 4: are the only thing that counts.
[47:52] Speaker 1: ZM is Franklin.
[47:54] Speaker 2: Friday Oaky!
[47:57] Speaker 4: On Olivia Dean Eve, we did an Olivia Dean Friday Oaky.
[48:02] Speaker 4: Bree's sounded like this.
[48:04] Speaker 2: For now I'm taking buh-buh-buh baby steps.
[48:09] Speaker 4: And mine sounded like this. And we are about to
[48:17] Speaker 4: find out whose was better. A text that says Jesus Christ.
[48:22] Speaker 4: I'm glad Olivia Dean is currently sound checking so she didn't.
[48:25] Speaker 2: Have to hear that. So are we. That's lovely feedback. Yeah,
[48:32] Speaker 2: I think they meant it positively. I think they meant
[48:33] Speaker 2: that in a nice way. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because if
[48:36] Speaker 2: she heard it, she'd be nervous. Yeah, she'd be like, oh.
[48:38] Speaker 2: She'd be like, oh, I can't. Am I any good
[48:40] Speaker 2: at this thing? Because that sounded way better.
[48:42] Speaker 4: Well, what am I doing here if those guys can
[48:45] Speaker 4: just sing my songs?
[48:46] Speaker 2: That was way better.
[48:47] Speaker 4: Susan's here to vote.
[48:48] Speaker 2: Hi, Susan. Hi, Susan. Hi there.
[48:51] Speaker 4: Any hearing difficulty in your family, Susan? Or you've got
[48:54] Speaker 4: an expert opinion on this?
[48:58] Speaker 7: Maybe I'm half deaf.
[49:01] Speaker 4: Well, whether you are or you aren't, you have the
[49:05] Speaker 4: first vote. Who do you think did the better, Olivia Dean?
[49:09] Speaker 7: I reckon Bree.
[49:12] Speaker 2: That makes sense as to why you're a bit deaf, Susan.
[49:15] Speaker 8: Thank you.
[49:16] Speaker 2: Hey, but you know what? I'll take it, Susan. Thank you.
[49:19] Speaker 2: Take it. Run with it. Thanks, Susan. Appreciate you.
[49:22] Speaker 4: Let's go to Jock and the kids, Indy and Ayla.
[49:25] Speaker 2: Hi, guys. Hi, guys.
[49:28] Speaker 7: Hi.
[49:28] Speaker 4: What did you guys think of our Olivia Dean this week?
[49:31] Speaker 2: Really good. Yeah. Really? Really good. You genuinely thought it
[49:36] Speaker 2: was really good? Yeah. When you guys said that, our
[49:39] Speaker 2: new producer, Grace, just shook her head. She was like, mm-mm, wrong. Well,
[49:45] Speaker 2: who are you going to vote for, guys? Oh, are
[49:50] Speaker 2: we losing you?
[49:51] Speaker 9: Oh, no.
[49:52] Speaker 2: Jock? Indy, Ayla. Oh, no. This is going to throw
[49:58] Speaker 2: the whole thing into turmoil. We're going to need a
[50:01] Speaker 2: backup vote. Oh, 800 dials in M if you want
[50:03] Speaker 2: to come through and have it.
[50:04] Speaker 4: We'll go to Jenny.
[50:05] Speaker 2: Hi, Jenny.
[50:06] Speaker 7: Hi, Jenny.
[50:06] Speaker 3: Hi, Jenny.
[50:07] Speaker 2: Hey, guys.
[50:08] Speaker 4: What did you think of our baby steps?
[50:10] Speaker 8: Look, it was pretty good, but a little bit pitchy.
[50:16] Speaker 2: A little bit pitchy. That's being kind, Jenny.
[50:19] Speaker 8: It is a Friday.
[50:20] Speaker 2: Yeah, that's nice of you. Who was the least pitchy?
[50:23] Speaker 2: Who are you going to give your vote to? We're
[50:25] Speaker 2: going to vote for Clint today. Thank you, Jenny. I
[50:29] Speaker 2: appreciate it. One all. Holly's here. Hi, Holly.
[50:32] Speaker 10: Hi, Holly.
[50:33] Speaker 4: Oh, hi.
[50:34] Speaker 7: Hi, guys.
[50:34] Speaker 2: There she is. Holly, what do you think of our
[50:36] Speaker 2: Olivia Deans?
[50:38] Speaker 8: Hey, look, it was great.
[50:40] Speaker 7: It was a good... Holly, don't lie.
[50:43] Speaker 2: No, I don't want lies. We can handle the truth. Holly,
[50:45] Speaker 2: I don't want lies. I want your brutal honesty. When
[50:48] Speaker 2: you were saying it, you were like, it's good! And
[50:50] Speaker 2: your voice is going up like you're lying.
[50:52] Speaker 10: I was just trying to ask my son Freddie and
[50:55] Speaker 10: they can't see, you know, which one he preferred.
[50:58] Speaker 2: Okay, is it his vote, is it?
[50:59] Speaker 4: Are you distancing yourself from the vote?
[51:03] Speaker 8: That....
[51:06] Speaker 2: That granddad's slice.
[51:08] Speaker 8: Of ham up.
[51:11] Speaker 7: He's just seen some people holding up signs outside.
[51:15] Speaker 2: Okay.
[51:16] Speaker 4: Who are you going to vote for, Holly?
[51:18] Speaker 8: I'm going to go with you, Clint.
[51:20] Speaker 7: I'm so sorry, Bree.
[51:21] Speaker 2: No worries, mate.
[51:22] Speaker 4: Thank you, Holly.
[51:23] Speaker 2: We appreciate it. Sam's here. Hi, Sam. Hi, Sam.
[51:26] Speaker 4: Hi, guys. It's 2-1. You can either keep Bree in
[51:29] Speaker 4: it or you can wrap this thing up.
[51:30] Speaker 2: What's your thoughts?
[51:32] Speaker 4: Do you want a positive feelings check or you want
[51:35] Speaker 4: brutal honesty?
[51:36] Speaker 2: Nah, mate, brutal honesty. I feel like I know what's coming,
[51:39] Speaker 2: so I'm ready. You're both shit, Bart.
[51:42] Speaker 4: What a punish that was.
[51:44] Speaker 2: And you know what, Sam? That's how I felt too.
[51:48] Speaker 2: I felt both of ours were awful. I think Olivia
[51:52] Speaker 2: Dean's probably searching for an Uber back to the airport.
[51:55] Speaker 10: Yeah, yeah.
[51:55] Speaker 4: I don't doubt it. Okay, if you had to, had to,
[51:58] Speaker 4: had to, which you do, pick one.
[52:00] Speaker 2: What is it? I have to go, yeah, the boys are.
[52:04] Speaker 2: You can't dog the boys. Yeah, the boys.
[52:05] Speaker 3: For now, I'm taking buh-buh-buh baby steps.
[52:09] Speaker 2: I don't know about you, Sam, but I feel like
[52:11] Speaker 2: it gave me the ick this week. But, like, both
[52:16] Speaker 2: of them. Again, just this week. Yeah, some weeks I'm
[52:20] Speaker 2: pretty proud of them.
[52:21] Speaker 4: Really?
[52:21] Speaker 2: This week I feel like we'll, yeah.
[52:23] Speaker 4: She might even bring it up on her show tomorrow night.
[52:25] Speaker 2: Sam, don't.
[52:27] Speaker 4: Don't say that, Sam.
[52:29] Speaker 2: We would be mortified. She was on stage today. Are
[52:32] Speaker 2: Bree and Clint here? If they are, get out. It
[52:35] Speaker 2: might single-handedly cancel the segment. Thank you for all your feedback, everybody.
[52:42] Speaker 2: We appreciate it. Time for a birthday banger. All right,
[52:50] Speaker 2: birthday bangers, number one songs when you turn 16. We'll
[52:54] Speaker 2: figure them out for you and then we'll play our favourite.
[52:56] Speaker 2: TK's here. Hi, TK. Hi, TK.
[52:59] Speaker 8: Hi.
[52:59] Speaker 4: Wait a second, TK. You don't sound old enough to
[53:02] Speaker 4: have a birthday banger.
[53:06] Speaker 2: How old are you, TK?
[53:08] Speaker 8: Eight.
[53:09] Speaker 2: You're eight? Whose birthday banger are you going to do?
[53:11] Speaker 11: My, um, my ma's.
[53:15] Speaker 2: Oh, that's lovely. Do you know her birthday?
[53:18] Speaker 8: Yes.
[53:19] Speaker 2: Okay.
[53:20] Speaker 8: 33rd of September, 1995. Well done, TK.
[53:24] Speaker 2: You did such a good job. That means your ma
[53:26] Speaker 2: was 16 in 2011, and here's her birthday banger. One Direction.
[53:42] Speaker 4: What do you reckon, TK?
[53:43] Speaker 2: I like that. It's a bit of a fun one,
[53:47] Speaker 2: isn't it? Do you think your mum's beautiful?
[53:52] Speaker 7: Yeah.
[53:54] Speaker 2: That's lovely. Very cool. Well done, TK. Wait there.
[53:57] Speaker 4: Isn't it weird to think that the Directioners now have eight-year-olds?
[54:01] Speaker 2: Yeah, crazy.
[54:01] Speaker 4: Crazy how time just gets away on you like that.
[54:04] Speaker 2: Kat's here. Hi, Kat. Hi, Kat.
[54:07] Speaker 5: Hello, how are you?
[54:08] Speaker 2: Good, Kat. What are you doing for the weekend? Not much.
[54:12] Speaker 2: Getting ready for a garage sale, actually. At your house? Yeah, yep.
[54:17] Speaker 2: I didn't know people still did that. Well, I'm just
[54:20] Speaker 2: going to test it out and see what happens. Where
[54:22] Speaker 2: do you advertise it? How do you get people to
[54:24] Speaker 2: come to the garage sale?
[54:26] Speaker 8: Well, I'm just assuming just notes on the.
[54:29] Speaker 2: Community notice board. Yeah, yeah. Oh, the community Facebook page.
[54:34] Speaker 2: That's where you should put it. Yeah, okay. You should
[54:36] Speaker 2: just put on there, free beer. And then everyone will
[54:40] Speaker 2: turn up.
[54:41] Speaker 4: Say you're doing an Olivia Dean tribute show at the
[54:45] Speaker 4: garage sale. What?
[54:47] Speaker 8: I could be the singer.
[54:48] Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. All right, best of luck for it. We
[54:51] Speaker 2: want people to turn up. Oh, I know. What's your
[54:54] Speaker 2: date of birth, Kat? So 20th of January, 95. Another 95.
[54:59] Speaker 2: That means, Kat, you were also 16 in 2011, but
[55:03] Speaker 2: on your 16th, this was number one. Oh, yeah, Kat.
[55:12] Speaker 4: Very, very different to a One Direction.
[55:18] Speaker 2: Please tell me you love that one.
[55:20] Speaker 8: I guess I love it.
[55:21] Speaker 1: I'm rocking out.
[55:22] Speaker 4: Nice.
[55:22] Speaker 9: Okay.
[55:24] Speaker 2: Wait there, Kat.
[55:25] Speaker 4: One more for Alexis, who's doing their dad's birthday banger.
[55:28] Speaker 2: Hi, Alexis. Hi, Alexis. How old are you, Alexis? Say again, Alexis. Ten.
[55:39] Speaker 9: Ten.
[55:40] Speaker 2: Okay, Alexis. What is dad's birthday?
[55:44] Speaker 11: Nine.
[55:46] Speaker 8: 13th of February, 95.
[55:49] Speaker 2: Well done.
[55:50] Speaker 4: Another 95.
[55:51] Speaker 2: That's three 95s in a row, but your dad was 16,
[55:55] Speaker 2: also in 2011. But on the 13th of Feb, this
[55:59] Speaker 2: was number.
[56:05] Speaker 9: One.
[56:05] Speaker 2: Oh, God, Sebastian. Apparently it's got Eve on it as well.
[56:12] Speaker 2: I don't remember that. Maybe she was a rapper. What
[56:16] Speaker 2: do you think, Alexis?
[56:17] Speaker 4: Is that a good birthday banger for Dads?
[56:20] Speaker 3: Hell yeah.
[56:21] Speaker 2: Hell yeah, says Dad. I like that. I like that
[56:24] Speaker 2: Dad loves it. Good work, guys. Wait there.
[56:26] Speaker 4: We're going to choose between Britney, 1D and Guy Sebastian,
[56:29] Speaker 4: all from the year 2011.
[56:30] Speaker 2: Yeah. I love that. I love them all, to be honest.
[56:34] Speaker 2: All three I'd be happy with. I will be voting
[56:37] Speaker 2: for Britney Spears. Me too.
[56:40] Speaker 4: I feel like it stands out the most.
[56:42] Speaker 2: And it's not.
[56:43] Speaker 4: And we never play that Britney song.
[56:44] Speaker 2: You never hear that one, no.
[56:45] Speaker 4: Kat, having a garage sale this weekend. Congratulations, you're the
[56:48] Speaker 4: winner of Birthday Banger.
[56:50] Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
[56:51] Speaker 11: I'm so excited.
[56:52] Speaker 2: Free beer at Kat's house this weekend.
[56:54] Speaker 4: Did you want to advertise your garage sale on ZM?
[56:56] Speaker 2: Okay, anyone Greer's Road and Bishopdale and Christchurch. Let's go.
[57:03] Speaker 2: And what time should they pop around? Kat, what time
[57:05] Speaker 2: does it start? Anytime from 10am. Anytime, but it has
[57:10] Speaker 2: to be after 10am.
[57:14] Speaker 1: There you go.
[57:14] Speaker 2: Free advertising. All the best. Here it is, a birthday
[57:17] Speaker 2: banger from 2011 on ZM.
[57:18] Speaker 9: Hey.
[57:22] Speaker 4: That's the winner of Birthday Banger on ZM with Brie
[57:28] Speaker 4: and Clint. Britney Spears, Hold It Against Me. It's Kat's
[57:30] Speaker 4: birthday banger. It was number one on her 16th birthday
[57:33] Speaker 4: in January 2011.
[57:35] Speaker 2: Such a good gym playlist. It's just Britney Spears over
[57:38] Speaker 2: and over again.
[57:39] Speaker 9: Oh, yeah?
[57:40] Speaker 2: Especially from the Blackout album. What about when she does, like,
[57:43] Speaker 2: the slow one? You skip those. I just skip them.
[57:45] Speaker 10: Yeah.
[57:45] Speaker 2: Like every time's not the best song to run on
[57:48] Speaker 2: the treadmill to.
[57:48] Speaker 4: That song where she does the British accent randomly, that
[57:51] Speaker 4: would go hard at the gym, wouldn't it?
[57:52] Speaker 10: Work.
[57:53] Speaker 2: What else up in the club? You better work. All
[57:56] Speaker 2: eyes on us. All eyes on us. Yeah, because that
[58:00] Speaker 2: other Chulisa had already recorded it. She's English. It was
[58:05] Speaker 2: her song. She recorded it. She was ready to release
[58:08] Speaker 2: it as a single. And then Will.i.am was like, hey,
[58:12] Speaker 2: I'm going to record this with Britney Spears. And she goes, no,
[58:14] Speaker 2: you're not. I want that song. And then the Britney
[58:17] Speaker 2: Spears version came out and Tulisa's vocals were still on it.
[58:21] Speaker 2: And that's why Britney sounds English.
[58:22] Speaker 4: And we never heard from Tulisa again.
[58:24] Speaker 2: She's like a judge on X Factor UK or something.
[58:26] Speaker 2: Will.i.am had her whacked. Oh, she's a judge on X Factor.
[58:30] Speaker 9: Yeah.
[58:30] Speaker 2: Yeah, same thing.
[58:31] Speaker 1: The ZM Podcast Network.
[58:33] Speaker 4: Tomorrow, Olivia Dean plays to 43,000 people at Western Springs
[58:37] Speaker 4: and we have the last double pass in existence right
[58:39] Speaker 4: now to give away.
[58:40] Speaker 2: Yes, all the other ones have been given away, but
[58:42] Speaker 2: we've got one left. And if you entered on the
[58:45] Speaker 2: iHeartRadio app, then I hope you're sitting near your phone
[58:49] Speaker 2: right now.
[58:49] Speaker 4: We asked you what plans you would cancel for this
[58:52] Speaker 4: double pass because it's tomorrow. And at the moment, you
[58:54] Speaker 4: don't have tickets.
[58:55] Speaker 2: No.
[58:55] Speaker 4: So surely you have something else on.
[58:57] Speaker 2: You're going to need to drop everything for this.
[58:58] Speaker 4: We had some crazy suggestions. People who would flake out
[59:02] Speaker 4: on their own mum, on their grandmother, who would ditch
[59:04] Speaker 4: their boyfriends, whatever, who would abandon a wedding because they
[59:08] Speaker 4: didn't like the groom.
[59:10] Speaker 2: There was someone who wanted to abandon a surgery they'd
[59:12] Speaker 2: waited four years for. That's right. People who said they
[59:14] Speaker 2: would cancel flights to Australia.
[59:16] Speaker 4: People want these tickets badly and we have somebody and
[59:19] Speaker 4: we're going to connect that call to that person right now.
[59:22] Speaker 4: So Claudia, please put us through to the person who
[59:25] Speaker 4: we have selected to change their plans at last minute.
[59:29] Speaker 3: That's Hello.
[59:31] Speaker 2: Hello, who's this?
[59:33] Speaker 8: Eva Gracie.
[59:34] Speaker 2: Oh, Eva, it's Bree and Clint from ZM. How are you?
[59:37] Speaker 10: I'm really good.
[59:39] Speaker 8: How are you?
[59:39] Speaker 2: Yeah, we're good.
[59:40] Speaker 4: What are you doing tomorrow? What are your plans?
[59:43] Speaker 8: I have my boyfriend's birthday.
[59:45] Speaker 2: Oh, no. Oh, that sucks because we were going to
[59:48] Speaker 2: give you tickets to Olivia Dean.
[59:50] Speaker 11: Oh, my God, no.
[59:52] Speaker 8: Oh, my God, I'll go.
[59:53] Speaker 4: You told us you would cancel going to your own
[59:56] Speaker 4: boyfriend's birthday party for tickets to Olivia Deen.
[59:58] Speaker 2: We just need to know, are you serious about that?
[1:00:01] Speaker 2: Do you promise?
[1:00:02] Speaker 8: I'm 100% serious.
[1:00:03] Speaker 2: Then it looks like you're going to Olivia Deen.
[1:00:05] Speaker 7: Oh, my God, I'm taking my mum.
[1:00:09] Speaker 2: Hell yeah. Eva Gracie, you said you're going to take
[1:00:15] Speaker 2: your mum.
[1:00:16] Speaker 8: Yes, I'm taking my mum for her birthday.
[1:00:18] Speaker 2: Oh, for her birthday. Oh, that's even better.
[1:00:21] Speaker 4: It's full circle. What birthday is it for your boyfriend?
[1:00:24] Speaker 4: Is it a significant one? It's not his 21st, is it?
[1:00:27] Speaker 2: It's his 18th. Oh, my gosh. Ah, well, he'll have
[1:00:30] Speaker 2: a 21st. Eva, did you try and buy tickets?
[1:00:35] Speaker 4: Were you like the rest of us who got stuck
[1:00:37] Speaker 4: in the queue?
[1:00:38] Speaker 8: Yes, the whole time.
[1:00:39] Speaker 2: I called you so many times, like the whole day.
[1:00:43] Speaker 5: Yeah.
[1:00:43] Speaker 11: Me and my mum.
[1:00:44] Speaker 2: And you know what, Eva Grace, you can turn up
[1:00:46] Speaker 2: to your boyfriend's birthday party afterwards. Yeah.
[1:00:49] Speaker 8: Yeah. Yeah, if you feel like it.
[1:00:52] Speaker 6: Yeah.
[1:00:52] Speaker 2: Or if you're tired, just go home. Eva's like, I'm
[1:00:54] Speaker 2: not going to do that. But yeah, I could.
[1:00:56] Speaker 9: Oh my God, this is crazy.
[1:00:57] Speaker 8: My feet are going to cry.
[1:00:59] Speaker 2: Is your mum there with you?
[1:01:01] Speaker 7: No, she's not, but I told her and she was
[1:01:03] Speaker 7: like praying.
[1:01:04] Speaker 2: She was like, please, please. Oh my God, she's going
[1:01:06] Speaker 2: to be. Is she a fan of Olivia Deen as well?
[1:01:09] Speaker 10: Yes, yes.
[1:01:10] Speaker 4: Eva, as far as we know, these are the last
[1:01:14] Speaker 4: tickets in existence.
[1:01:15] Speaker 2: There are no other tickets left in New Zealand. You
[1:01:18] Speaker 2: can't buy them.
[1:01:18] Speaker 4: You are the final person to find out that they
[1:01:20] Speaker 4: are going to be there at Western Springs tomorrow.
[1:01:23] Speaker 2: How does that feel?
[1:01:24] Speaker 7: I'm crying, oh my God.
[1:01:26] Speaker 2: Hey, we really appreciate you entering the competition and listening
[1:01:30] Speaker 2: to ZM and have a fantastic time with your mum
