[0:00] Speaker 1: Thanks so much for listening to the podcast today. I
[0:02] Speaker 1: want you to know that Victoria and I are praying
[0:04] Speaker 1: for you and your family this summer and just asking
[0:07] Speaker 1: God to bring you more peace and joy and victory
[0:10] Speaker 1: than you've ever seen before.
[0:12] Speaker 2: Know that God's for you.
[0:13] Speaker 1: He's got you in the palm of his hand and
[0:15] Speaker 1: I hope you enjoy the message today.
[0:17] Speaker 2: God bless you today.
[0:19] Speaker 1: Such a joy to come into your homes. If you're
[0:21] Speaker 1: ever in our area, please stop by. Be a part
[0:24] Speaker 1: of one of our services. I promise you we'll make
[0:26] Speaker 1: you feel right at home. But thanks so much for
[0:28] Speaker 1: tuning in and thank you again for coming out today.
[0:31] Speaker 1: I'd like to start with something funny. I heard about
[0:34] Speaker 1: this man. He was on vacation in Jerusalem with his
[0:37] Speaker 1: family when his mother-in-law suddenly died. He went to make
[0:42] Speaker 1: arrangements to get her body back home. The consulate said,
[0:46] Speaker 1: it would cost $ 5, 000 to have her shipped and $ 150
[0:50] Speaker 1: to have her buried right there in Jerusalem. He thought
[0:54] Speaker 1: about it a moment, said he'd like to have her
[0:56] Speaker 1: body shipped back home. Consulate said, wow, you must have
[1:00] Speaker 1: really loved your mother-in-law. He said, no, it's not so
[1:03] Speaker 1: much that. I just remember a case here many years
[1:06] Speaker 1: ago when they buried somebody and the third day they
[1:09] Speaker 1: arose and I can't take that chance.
[1:12] Speaker 2: Hold your Bible up. Say it like you mean it.
[1:15] Speaker 2: This is my Bible.
[1:17] Speaker 1: I am what it says I am. I have what
[1:19] Speaker 1: it says I have. I can do what it says
[1:22] Speaker 1: I can do. Today, I will be taught the Word
[1:24] Speaker 1: of God. I boldly confess my mind is alert. My
[1:28] Speaker 1: heart is receptive. I will never be the same. In Jesus' name,
[1:33] Speaker 1: God bless you. I want to talk to you today
[1:37] Speaker 1: about how you have resurrection power. When you gave your
[1:41] Speaker 1: life to Christ, God put a power in you greater
[1:45] Speaker 1: than any power that you'll ever face. And we're not
[1:48] Speaker 1: supposed to go through life backing down in fear, intimidated,
[1:53] Speaker 1: like we're at a disadvantage. This problem is so big.
[1:58] Speaker 1: The medical report is so bad. Or Joel, these people
[2:01] Speaker 1: coming against me, they're so much more influential than me.
[2:05] Speaker 1: I'm no match for them. No, Romans 8, 11 says
[2:09] Speaker 1: the same power that raised Christ from the dead lives
[2:13] Speaker 1: on the inside of you. Most of us believe that
[2:17] Speaker 1: Jesus has incredible power, but God turned it around and said,
[2:22] Speaker 1: I'm putting the same power in you.
[2:25] Speaker 2: It's a power so.
[2:26] Speaker 1: Strong that death couldn't keep him in the grave. A
[2:30] Speaker 1: power so strong that all.
[2:31] Speaker 2: The forces of darkness couldn't stop it. But here's the key.
[2:35] Speaker 2: The only way to.
[2:36] Speaker 1: Activate the power is to believe. You can't go through
[2:40] Speaker 1: life thinking this situation is impossible. I'll never accomplish my dreams.
[2:46] Speaker 1: I've been through too much. That will keep you from
[2:49] Speaker 1: your destiny. have a new perspective. You are not weak.
[2:53] Speaker 1: You are full of resurrection power. You may have had
[2:57] Speaker 1: some bad breaks, but you are not a victim.
[3:00] Speaker 2: You are a victor.
[3:02] Speaker 1: You are not supposed to back down from life, run
[3:06] Speaker 1: from difficulties, run from things that are hard. No, stand
[3:10] Speaker 1: your ground and fight the good fight of faith. The
[3:13] Speaker 1: reason it's called a good fight is because the enemy
[3:16] Speaker 1: has already been defeated. The keys to death and hell
[3:20] Speaker 1: have already.
[3:20] Speaker 2: Been taken away.
[3:22] Speaker 1: Jesus said, the prince of this world comes, talking about Satan,
[3:27] Speaker 1: and he has no power over me. You can say
[3:31] Speaker 1: the same thing. The enemy has no power over you.
[3:35] Speaker 1: That sickness cannot stop you. That bad break can't hold
[3:38] Speaker 1: you back. Those people can't keep you.
[3:41] Speaker 2: From your destiny.
[3:42] Speaker 1: There is a power in you that is no match
[3:46] Speaker 1: for any power that tries to stop you.
[3:48] Speaker 2: Now all through the day, this should be playing in
[3:50] Speaker 2: our mind. I am powerful. I am strong.
[3:54] Speaker 1: I am well able. I will not fear. I will
[3:58] Speaker 1: not back down. I will not run and hide. I
[4:01] Speaker 1: am not intimidated. I am not a victim. I am
[4:05] Speaker 1: not at a disadvantage. I am full of resurrection power. Well,
[4:10] Speaker 1: you say, Joel, I don't feel very powerful. I don't
[4:12] Speaker 1: feel very strong. But you can't go by what you feel.
[4:16] Speaker 1: You got to go by what you know. Your feelings
[4:19] Speaker 1: may change every other hour. What you're up against may
[4:22] Speaker 1: look bigger, stronger, more influential, more powerful.
[4:26] Speaker 2: That's okay. The bigger they are, the harder they fall.
[4:30] Speaker 1: You have an advantage is called resurrection power. And even
[4:34] Speaker 1: though you may not feel powerful, you got to put
[4:37] Speaker 1: your shoulders back and start acting like you're powerful. Fake
[4:41] Speaker 1: it till you make it. Act like you're strong. Act
[4:44] Speaker 1: like you're well able. Act like you're more than a conqueror.
[4:48] Speaker 1: Don't go through life intimidated when you have the most
[4:52] Speaker 1: powerful force in the universe on the inside. One time
[4:56] Speaker 1: in the scripture, the Syrian army was trying to overtake
[5:00] Speaker 1: the Israelites, but every time they made a move, the
[5:04] Speaker 1: Israelites knew exactly where they were going, what they were
[5:07] Speaker 1: going to do, and they would be there prepared, ready
[5:10] Speaker 1: for the attack. The Syrian commander got so frustrated, he
[5:15] Speaker 1: thought one of his men was a spy. He called
[5:17] Speaker 1: them all together. Men, somebody is leaking this inside top
[5:22] Speaker 1: secret information.
[5:23] Speaker 2: Who is it?
[5:24] Speaker 1: Captain spoke up and said, sir, it's none of us.
[5:27] Speaker 1: There's a prophet in Israel named Elisha. What you whisper
[5:32] Speaker 1: to us in secret, he tells to the Israelites. The
[5:36] Speaker 1: commander was furious. He decided to go get Elisha. Now,
[5:41] Speaker 1: Elisha wasn't in the military. He didn't have any protection.
[5:44] Speaker 2: He was a civilian.
[5:46] Speaker 1: You would think the commander would take four or five
[5:49] Speaker 1: people with him, maybe a dozen at the most. No,
[5:53] Speaker 1: this commander was so afraid of Elisha that he took
[5:57] Speaker 1: his whole army, thousands of troops, chariots, horses, all to
[6:02] Speaker 1: capture one man filled with the Spirit of God. That's
[6:07] Speaker 1: the way you need to see yourself. You and God
[6:10] Speaker 1: are a majority. When the enemy looks at you, it's
[6:16] Speaker 1: like this Syrian commander looked at Elisha.
[6:19] Speaker 2: He thinks, I can't defeat them. They're not weak. They
[6:22] Speaker 2: have an advantage. It's resurrection power.
[6:25] Speaker 1: Elisha's assistant went out early one morning and he saw
[6:29] Speaker 1: all these troops, these chariots, the Syrian army surrounding their house.
[6:33] Speaker 1: He ran back inside, panicked, so afraid. He said, Elisha,
[6:38] Speaker 1: get up.
[6:39] Speaker 2: We're doomed.
[6:40] Speaker 1: We're surrounded by the Syrians. Elisha didn't get upset. He said, son,
[6:45] Speaker 1: don't worry about it. There are more for us than
[6:48] Speaker 1: there are against us. The young man was confused. He thought, no, no,
[6:52] Speaker 1: we're totally outnumbered. Elisha prayed, God open his eyes that
[6:58] Speaker 1: he may see. He went out and looked again, but
[7:02] Speaker 1: this time he could see into the unseen spiritual realm.
[7:07] Speaker 1: He didn't just see the Syrian army, but he saw
[7:10] Speaker 1: a vast host of the heavenly armies all across the mountainside,
[7:15] Speaker 1: hundreds of thousands of these powerful, huge, warring angels.
[7:21] Speaker 2: Dressed and ready for battle.
[7:24] Speaker 1: Now you may not always feel powerful, but you've got
[7:27] Speaker 1: to know God's got your back. The creator of the
[7:30] Speaker 1: universe has got you covered. No matter what comes against you,
[7:34] Speaker 1: keep the right perspective. There are more for you than
[7:37] Speaker 1: there are against you. When the enemy looks at you,
[7:41] Speaker 1: he doesn't see you as weak. intimidated, at a disadvantage,
[7:46] Speaker 1: just the opposite. He sees you as powerful, equipped, and anointed.
[7:52] Speaker 1: When he sees you, it reminds him of that day
[7:55] Speaker 1: 2,000 years ago when Jesus crushed his head. Don't be
[8:00] Speaker 1: afraid of the enemy. He's scared the death of you.
[8:04] Speaker 1: Whether you've been a believer five days or 50 years,
[8:08] Speaker 1: he has to send a whole army just to try
[8:11] Speaker 1: to slow you down.
[8:12] Speaker 2: And it's good to see ourselves as God sees us.
[8:15] Speaker 2: That's important.
[8:16] Speaker 1: But I want you to see yourself the way the
[8:19] Speaker 1: enemy sees you. When you know who you are and
[8:23] Speaker 1: whose you are, when you realize you're full of resurrection power,
[8:27] Speaker 1: you won't live intimidated thinking, ah, this problem's too big. No,
[8:31] Speaker 1: you'll put your shoulders back knowing that the same power
[8:35] Speaker 1: that raised Christ from the dead lives on the inside
[8:38] Speaker 1: of you. If death couldn't keep Christ in the grave,
[8:42] Speaker 1: that bad break can't hold you back. That sickness cannot
[8:46] Speaker 1: stop you. That addiction cannot defeat you. There is a
[8:50] Speaker 1: power in you greater than any power that comes against you.
[9:02] Speaker 1: When I was growing up, we knew this man that
[9:05] Speaker 1: lived in Alaska. For several generations, his family had been
[9:09] Speaker 1: heavily involved in the occult and witchcraft. In fact, his
[9:14] Speaker 1: father was the head warlock in that whole area. Later,
[9:18] Speaker 1: he gave his life to Christ and got out of
[9:20] Speaker 1: all of that. But he told something interesting. He said
[9:24] Speaker 1: his father could leave his physical body and travel into
[9:28] Speaker 1: the spirit world.
[9:30] Speaker 2: They called it Astro Flight.
[9:32] Speaker 1: One night, he went to this home to cast a
[9:35] Speaker 1: spell on a person and to put a curse on
[9:38] Speaker 1: that house. But when he got there, for some reason,
[9:41] Speaker 1: he couldn't penetrate the house. Normally, he would go right
[9:45] Speaker 1: in through the walls.
[9:47] Speaker 2: He thought, that's strange.
[9:47] Speaker 1: Why can't I get in? He went over, looked in
[9:50] Speaker 1: the window, and he saw this man he was looking for.
[9:54] Speaker 1: He described him as being very, very dark. But sitting
[9:58] Speaker 1: all around him were these people that were lit up
[10:01] Speaker 1: like bright, bright light bulbs. He said it was the
[10:05] Speaker 1: most brilliant light you could ever imagine. Come to find out,
[10:10] Speaker 1: it was a group of young people that had come
[10:12] Speaker 1: over there for a Bible study. As long as they
[10:16] Speaker 1: were there, he could not penetrate that house. He told
[10:20] Speaker 1: his son later, if believers only knew the power they
[10:24] Speaker 1: had in the spirit world, they would never.
[10:27] Speaker 2: Be afraid again.
[10:30] Speaker 1: You may not feel powerful, but you got to know
[10:33] Speaker 1: in this unseen world, you are glowing with God's glory.
[10:37] Speaker 1: You are radiating like a brilliant light. You are protected.
[10:42] Speaker 1: You are set apart. It's resurrection power. How do we
[10:46] Speaker 1: activate it?
[10:46] Speaker 2: By believing. not giving into fear. No, I'm powerful. I'm strong.
[10:51] Speaker 2: I'm glowing with God's glory.
[10:54] Speaker 1: We may not see it with our physical eyes, but
[10:56] Speaker 1: in this unseen realm, you are shining so brightly that
[11:00] Speaker 1: you blind the darkness. The enemy cannot penetrate your house,
[11:06] Speaker 1: your life, your future, your finances. God has put a
[11:10] Speaker 1: hedge of protection around you. You have nothing to worry about.
[11:14] Speaker 1: And listen, nobody can put a curse on you. They
[11:17] Speaker 1: can say all they want. It bounces right off of you.
[11:20] Speaker 1: God has already put a blessing on you and the
[11:23] Speaker 1: blessing always overrides the curse. Years ago, there was a
[11:29] Speaker 1: missionary in Africa. He was traveling by horseback down a
[11:33] Speaker 1: narrow winding path. It was a hot Sunday afternoon. He
[11:38] Speaker 1: was headed to one of the small villages. As he
[11:40] Speaker 1: approached a sharp curve in the path, the horse ran
[11:44] Speaker 1: stopped and refused to go any further. It evidently sensed
[11:48] Speaker 1: there was something wrong around the curb. The man couldn't
[11:51] Speaker 1: make the horse go, so he finally had to get off,
[11:54] Speaker 1: and he looked around the corner. Sure enough, there was
[11:57] Speaker 1: a huge snake, about 10 feet long, very thick, curled
[12:02] Speaker 1: up right in the middle of the path, basking in
[12:05] Speaker 1: the sun. It had its head hidden underneath a small,
[12:10] Speaker 1: flat stone.
[12:11] Speaker 2: The man's heart was gripped with fear.
[12:14] Speaker 1: He'd been warned about how dangerous and poisonous the snakes
[12:17] Speaker 1: were over there. Didn't really know what to do. Didn't
[12:21] Speaker 1: have a weapon. There was no way around the path.
[12:24] Speaker 1: There was brush and thick trees on each side. After
[12:27] Speaker 1: about 15 minutes, he got his nerve up and decided
[12:31] Speaker 1: to find the biggest rock he could possibly find. He
[12:35] Speaker 1: was going to throw it on top of that flat
[12:37] Speaker 1: stone where the snake was hiding his head and hopefully
[12:40] Speaker 1: kill the snake. He moved toward it very cautiously, trembling
[12:45] Speaker 1: with fear, back of his mind.
[12:48] Speaker 2: Thinking, what if I miss?
[12:50] Speaker 1: What if I just make him mad and he comes
[12:52] Speaker 1: over here and he bites me? Amid all the fear,
[12:55] Speaker 1: with the adrenaline flowing, he hurled that rock as hard
[12:58] Speaker 1: as he could. Much to his surprise, the snake didn't move.
[13:04] Speaker 1: He walked up a little closer and suddenly realized the
[13:07] Speaker 1: snake was already dead. Somebody passing that way before him
[13:13] Speaker 1: had crushed the snake's head and just left it lying
[13:16] Speaker 1: there in the path. The good news today is somebody
[13:20] Speaker 1: has already gone down our path and cleared it of
[13:23] Speaker 1: everything that could harm us.
[13:26] Speaker 2: We have nothing to fear.
[13:27] Speaker 1: A little over 2000 years ago, Jesus came to the earth,
[13:34] Speaker 1: went about healing, teaching, forgiving, showing love, but the religious
[13:40] Speaker 1: leaders didn't like him.
[13:42] Speaker 2: They got jealous, critical, found fault.
[13:45] Speaker 1: Even though he had done no wrong, they unjustly had
[13:48] Speaker 1: him beaten with a lead whip. They put a crown
[13:52] Speaker 1: of thorns on his head. They forced him to carry
[13:55] Speaker 1: his own cross to be crucified. The soldiers mocked him, ridiculed.
[14:00] Speaker 2: Him, even spit upon him.
[14:03] Speaker 1: They put him on the cross and nailed the spikes
[14:06] Speaker 1: into his hands, into his feet.
[14:09] Speaker 2: He had all power.
[14:11] Speaker 1: He could have called 10,000 angels. He could have ended
[14:15] Speaker 1: it in a split second. The angels were standing at attention,
[14:19] Speaker 1: ready to come, but he didn't do it. The nails
[14:23] Speaker 1: didn't hold him on the cross. Love held him on
[14:25] Speaker 1: the cross. He did it for you. He did it
[14:28] Speaker 1: for me. Hanging on that cross, the earth he spoke
[14:33] Speaker 1: into existence got nervous and began to tremble. It sensed
[14:38] Speaker 1: something was wrong. There was a great earthquake. The sun
[14:42] Speaker 1: he created turned his.
[14:44] Speaker 2: Back and refused to look. It got dark in the
[14:47] Speaker 2: middle of the day.
[14:49] Speaker 1: When the soldiers saw the very earth revolting, they said.
[14:53] Speaker 2: To one another, surely he was the son of God.
[14:57] Speaker 1: When Jesus breathed his last breath on this earth, the
[15:01] Speaker 1: veil in the temple, this big thick curtain was ripped
[15:05] Speaker 1: from the top to the bottom. Behind that veil was
[15:09] Speaker 1: the Holy of Holies. That's where the Ark of the
[15:12] Speaker 1: Covenant was, where God lived. Nobody could go in there
[15:17] Speaker 1: except the priest and then only once a year. When
[15:21] Speaker 1: that veil was ripped, it wasn't to let God out.
[15:25] Speaker 1: It was to let you and I in. Now we
[15:28] Speaker 1: can all come boldly to the throne of grace. You
[15:32] Speaker 1: don't need anybody to go to God for you. You
[15:36] Speaker 1: don't need a pastor, a priest, a rabbi, a Sunday
[15:39] Speaker 1: school teacher. You can go to God for yourself. God
[15:44] Speaker 1: wants to talk to you. He wants to be your friend.
[15:49] Speaker 1: Does it matter how religious you are or you aren't?
[15:53] Speaker 1: Does it matter the mistakes you've made, what you've done
[15:56] Speaker 1: in the past, or even what you're doing right now?
[15:59] Speaker 2: He took your sins.
[16:01] Speaker 1: He paid the price for every mistake, every wrong. His
[16:05] Speaker 1: blood covered it once and for all.
[16:07] Speaker 2: The veil is open. He's waiting to hear from you.
[16:12] Speaker 1: People tell me all the time, well, Joel, I'm not
[16:14] Speaker 1: a religious person. I wasn't raised in church like you were.
[16:18] Speaker 1: I'm not talking about being religious. Jesus didn't come to
[16:21] Speaker 1: start a religion. He came to have a relationship with you.
[16:26] Speaker 1: He has a purpose and a destiny for your life.
[16:32] Speaker 2: He's the one that created you. He knows the reason
[16:35] Speaker 2: that you're here.
[16:36] Speaker 1: When you come into agreement with him, your.
[16:39] Speaker 2: Life will be more rewarding, more fulfilling.
[16:42] Speaker 1: At one of our events on the road, a night
[16:45] Speaker 1: of hope, a young man came up to me afterwards
[16:47] Speaker 1: and I could tell he had been smoking pot. You
[16:51] Speaker 1: could smell it so strongly. First, I thought, man, this
[16:54] Speaker 1: is a night of hope, not a night of dope.
[16:59] Speaker 1: After talking with him for a little while, I started
[17:01] Speaker 1: feeling really, really good.
[17:03] Speaker 2: Amen.
[17:05] Speaker 1: He told me how he had never been to church
[17:08] Speaker 1: a day in his life. He said, Joe, I've never
[17:11] Speaker 1: been to any kind of religious event, but I've been
[17:14] Speaker 1: watching you on television and something is drawing me.
[17:18] Speaker 2: There's something I know I need.
[17:20] Speaker 1: I told him what I'm telling you, that's your heavenly
[17:23] Speaker 1: father wanting to be in relationship with you.
[17:26] Speaker 2: There is a void on.
[17:27] Speaker 1: The inside that only God can fill. We are living
[17:31] Speaker 1: in the day where the veil is open. God's mercy
[17:36] Speaker 1: is available to whomever will accept it. They put Jesus
[17:40] Speaker 1: in the tomb on Friday, thinking that it was over
[17:43] Speaker 1: and I'm sure Satan and all of his forces were
[17:46] Speaker 1: having a big party celebrating their victory. But I can
[17:50] Speaker 1: imagine in the midst of their celebration, they hear some
[17:53] Speaker 1: footsteps starting to get closer and closer. They see this
[17:57] Speaker 1: person coming, can't figure out who it is. Everyone is
[18:00] Speaker 1: accounted for. He walks with an authority like they've never
[18:04] Speaker 1: seen before.
[18:05] Speaker 2: His eyes are like fire. His hair is white as wool.
[18:10] Speaker 1: His face radiates with a brilliance so bright that it
[18:13] Speaker 1: forces them to turn away. Jesus crashes their party.
[18:17] Speaker 2: Says, I've got a big announcement to make. I'm back.
[18:24] Speaker 1: He said, you thought you got rid of me, but
[18:28] Speaker 1: it was all a part of my plan to redeem mankind.
[18:32] Speaker 2: You didn't take my life. I gave it away. The
[18:35] Speaker 2: battle of the ages took place.
[18:37] Speaker 1: Right versus wrong, light versus darkness, Jesus versus Satan.
[18:42] Speaker 2: It was no match.
[18:43] Speaker 1: Jesus crushed Satan's head and totally defeated him.
[18:47] Speaker 2: The scripture says.
[18:49] Speaker 1: He paralyzed him and rendered him powerless.
[18:54] Speaker 2: It looked dark on Friday.
[18:55] Speaker 1: It looked like it was over, but on Sunday morning,
[18:58] Speaker 1: it was a different story. The grave couldn't hold Jesus in.
[19:02] Speaker 1: He came bursting out and he said, I am he
[19:05] Speaker 1: that lives. I was dead, but I'm alive forevermore. By
[19:10] Speaker 1: the way, one more thing. I got the keys to
[19:12] Speaker 1: death and hell. He came out with all power and
[19:16] Speaker 1: then he turned right around in Luke 10, 19 and said,
[19:19] Speaker 1: I give you power over all the power of the enemy.
[19:24] Speaker 1: The same power he had, he gave to us. Now
[19:27] Speaker 1: you and I have all power.
[19:29] Speaker 2: It's resurrection power.
[19:31] Speaker 1: One scripture says that Jesus brought Satan to naught.
[19:35] Speaker 2: Another word for naught is zero. Zero.
[19:38] Speaker 1: When thoughts of fear, worry, intimidation come, instead of dwelling
[19:42] Speaker 1: on them, getting worried, discouraged, just give the enemy the
[19:46] Speaker 1: zero sign. Remind him that he has no power over you.
[19:52] Speaker 1: When you do it, learn to look down. That's where
[19:54] Speaker 1: he is, under your feet. The thought says, you'll never
[19:59] Speaker 1: get out of that problem. Zero sign. God always causes
[20:02] Speaker 1: me to triumph. You'll never accomplish your dreams. Zero sign.
[20:07] Speaker 1: I can do all things through Christ. Your family will
[20:10] Speaker 1: never get back on the right track. Zero sign. As
[20:13] Speaker 1: for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
[20:16] Speaker 2: You'll never get married. You're too old. Zero sign.
[20:19] Speaker 1: No good thing will God withhold because I walk uprightly.
[20:23] Speaker 2: Here's one we all hear. You've made too many mistakes.
[20:27] Speaker 2: Zero sign. God's mercy is bigger than any mistake. Remind
[20:31] Speaker 2: the enemy of his defeat.
[20:33] Speaker 1: John chapter 20, Peter went to the empty tomb and
[20:37] Speaker 1: he saw the burial cloth that had been wrapped around Jesus' head,
[20:41] Speaker 1: folded up, neatly placed over to the side. It was
[20:45] Speaker 1: away from the other burial cloths. Why did Jesus think
[20:49] Speaker 1: it necessary to fold that cloth? He was sending a
[20:52] Speaker 1: message to the Jewish people. In that day, if you
[20:56] Speaker 1: went to dinner at a Jewish home and you enjoyed
[21:00] Speaker 1: the dinner, enjoyed the company.
[21:01] Speaker 2: The food was good. The people were nice.
[21:04] Speaker 1: The tradition was to take that cloth napkin, crumple it.
[21:08] Speaker 2: Up and leave it on the seat.
[21:10] Speaker 1: That sent a message that you appreciated the dinner and
[21:13] Speaker 1: you would be back again. But if in any way
[21:17] Speaker 1: you felt insulted, disrespected, the people weren't courteous, the food
[21:23] Speaker 1: wasn't good, you would take that cloth napkin, carefully fold
[21:27] Speaker 1: it up and neatly place it back on the dinner table.
[21:32] Speaker 1: When Jesus arose from the grave, he knew many Jews
[21:36] Speaker 1: would come to the tomb looking for him. He took
[21:39] Speaker 1: time to fulfill this very common and well understood tradition.
[21:43] Speaker 1: He took that cloth that was wrapped around his head.
[21:46] Speaker 1: He very carefully folded it up and placed it over
[21:49] Speaker 1: to the side.
[21:50] Speaker 2: He was saying, I wasn't treated right. I was disrespected,
[21:55] Speaker 2: put to.
[21:55] Speaker 1: Shame, humiliated, and I will never come back to this
[21:59] Speaker 1: tomb again.
[22:00] Speaker 2: I defeated the enemy once and for all. I died
[22:06] Speaker 2: for the sins of the world once and for all.
[22:11] Speaker 1: He was saying, it is finished. The price has been paid.
[22:16] Speaker 1: The sacrifice has been made. Our enemy has been eternally defeated.
[22:20] Speaker 1: We have nothing to fear. Paul said in Ephesians 6,
[22:24] Speaker 1: to put on the whole armor of God.
[22:25] Speaker 2: And it goes on to list all the different pieces
[22:28] Speaker 2: of the armor.
[22:29] Speaker 1: Talks about the breastplate of righteousness, the belt of truth,
[22:33] Speaker 1: the shoes of peace, the helmet of salvation, the shield
[22:37] Speaker 1: of faith, the sword of the spirit. What's interesting is
[22:41] Speaker 1: there is not one piece of armor that is designed
[22:45] Speaker 1: for our backside.
[22:46] Speaker 2: It's all designed for our front. Why is that?
[22:50] Speaker 1: God never intended for us to be running from the enemy.
[22:54] Speaker 2: If you live in.
[22:54] Speaker 1: Fear, backing down from life, feeling like you're at a disadvantage,
[23:00] Speaker 1: then you're leaving yourself wide open. It's like a hospital gown.
[23:04] Speaker 1: They're great in the front, but they don't have much
[23:06] Speaker 1: going on in the back. No matter what life throws
[23:10] Speaker 1: your way, stand your ground, look that challenge in the eye, say,
[23:13] Speaker 1: you will not defeat me. I am a child of
[23:16] Speaker 1: the most high God. I am full of resurrection power.
[23:22] Speaker 1: A minister I know told about a dream that he had.
[23:26] Speaker 1: In this dream, he saw himself standing in a large room,
[23:31] Speaker 1: about as big as this platform. At the other end
[23:33] Speaker 1: of the room, Satan himself was standing there, staring at
[23:37] Speaker 1: him very evilly.
[23:39] Speaker 2: This terrible gaze was holding him captive.
[23:42] Speaker 1: He tried again and again to break free and get
[23:44] Speaker 1: out of the room, but he couldn't move. He was
[23:47] Speaker 1: totally paralyzed. The more he tried, the more he struggled,
[23:51] Speaker 1: the more Satan would sarcastically laugh. In the dream, he
[23:55] Speaker 1: was so afraid that he couldn't pray, couldn't quote a scripture,
[23:59] Speaker 1: couldn't remember anything. He was frozen stiff, held hostage by
[24:04] Speaker 1: these evil glaring eyes. Then all of a sudden, Jesus
[24:09] Speaker 1: stepped into the room and walked right between the two men.
[24:13] Speaker 1: Jesus was facing Satan with his back to this man.
[24:17] Speaker 1: Jesus started backing up. The man thought, no, Jesus, don't
[24:21] Speaker 1: back up. You're not afraid of Satan. But he kept
[24:24] Speaker 1: backing up and backing up until he got right in
[24:27] Speaker 1: front of this man. There was nowhere else to go.
[24:30] Speaker 1: But in this dream, Jesus took another step backwards and
[24:33] Speaker 1: he stepped into the man.
[24:36] Speaker 2: Jesus' arms went into his arms. Jesus' legs into his legs. Jesus'
[24:40] Speaker 2: torso into his torso.
[24:42] Speaker 1: When Jesus completely disappeared into him, he saw himself lift
[24:46] Speaker 1: his hand and point at Satan. And Satan immediately fell
[24:50] Speaker 1: to the ground and he was able to walk out
[24:52] Speaker 1: of that room. Now you may not feel powerful, but
[24:57] Speaker 1: you got to know the most powerful force in the
[25:00] Speaker 1: universe is on the inside of you. At the name
[25:03] Speaker 1: of Jesus, the scripture says, everything has to bow. We
[25:07] Speaker 1: don't have anything to be afraid of. We don't have
[25:10] Speaker 1: to fear the past. Some people say, oh, I've made
[25:13] Speaker 1: so many mistakes. Joel, I got all these skeletons in
[25:16] Speaker 1: my closet. No, when you gave your life to Christ,
[25:19] Speaker 1: he cleaned your closet. Your sins have already been forgiven.
[25:24] Speaker 1: God doesn't have a big hard drive, a big computer
[25:27] Speaker 1: up in heaven, keeping a list of everything that you've
[25:30] Speaker 1: done wrong. When you repented, he totally erased it. Doesn't
[25:34] Speaker 1: remember that anymore. We don't have to fear the present. Well, Joel,
[25:38] Speaker 1: prices are so high. My neighborhood's kind of dangerous. I
[25:42] Speaker 1: don't know if I'm going to make it. No, God
[25:44] Speaker 1: has you in the palm of his hand. Nothing can
[25:47] Speaker 1: snatch you away. If God takes care of the birds
[25:50] Speaker 1: of the air, how much more is God going to
[25:52] Speaker 1: take care of you? We don't even have to fear
[25:56] Speaker 1: the future. We don't have to fear death. The scripture
[25:59] Speaker 1: says to be absent from the body is to be present.
[26:03] Speaker 2: With the Lord.
[26:04] Speaker 1: When it comes your time to go, you'll breathe one
[26:07] Speaker 1: final breath, but that's not the end.
[26:10] Speaker 2: Your next breath, you'll be a.
[26:11] Speaker 1: More alive than ever breathing heavenly air at a place
[26:15] Speaker 1: where there is no pain, no sickness, no sorrow. We
[26:20] Speaker 1: can say with the Apostle Paul, oh death, where is
[26:23] Speaker 1: your victory?
[26:24] Speaker 2: Oh grave, where is your sting? We're not afraid of
[26:27] Speaker 2: the past, the present, the future.
[26:29] Speaker 3: Why?
[26:30] Speaker 2: We know we have resurrection power.
[26:32] Speaker 1: We know those that are for us are greater than
[26:35] Speaker 1: those that are against us. We know our enemy has
[26:38] Speaker 1: been eternally defeated. My challenge to us today, put your
[26:42] Speaker 1: shoulders back. Hold your head up high. You are not weak, intimidated,
[26:47] Speaker 1: at a disadvantage. The same power that raised Christ from
[26:51] Speaker 1: the dead lives on the inside of you. If you'll
[26:54] Speaker 1: rise up and tap into this power, I believe and
[26:57] Speaker 1: declare because he lives, you too will live an abundant, overcoming, faith-filled,
[27:04] Speaker 1: victorious life in Jesus' name.
[27:08] Speaker 2: If you receive it, Can you say amen today?
[27:13] Speaker 1: We never like to close our broadcast without giving you
[27:16] Speaker 1: an opportunity to make Jesus the Lord of your life.
[27:19] Speaker 2: Would you pray with me?
[27:20] Speaker 1: Just say, Lord Jesus, I repent of my sins. Come
[27:25] Speaker 1: into my heart. I make you my Lord and Savior.
[27:30] Speaker 1: If you prayed that simple prayer, we believe you got
[27:33] Speaker 1: born again. Get in a good Bible-based church. Keep God
[27:36] Speaker 1: first place. He's going to take you places that you've
[27:39] Speaker 1: never dreamed of. The scripture says, write the vision and
