[0:00] Speaker 1: I hope you and your family are having a great summer.
[0:03] Speaker 1: Victoria and I are praying for you, believing for God's
[0:05] Speaker 1: very best in your life. And it's always my pleasure
[0:08] Speaker 1: to be able to share a message with you. I
[0:10] Speaker 1: hope you're encouraged and inspired today.
[0:13] Speaker 2: Yes, we're excited to be alive today.
[0:15] Speaker 3: Amen.
[0:16] Speaker 4: I just want to remind you that you are extraordinary.
[0:20] Speaker 4: Nobody wants to be ordinary, do they? We all want
[0:24] Speaker 4: to be extraordinary. We want to live an extraordinary life.
[0:27] Speaker 4: And I believe that's what Jesus said. He said, I
[0:31] Speaker 4: want to come to give you a life and a
[0:34] Speaker 4: life of abundance. See, he came so that we could
[0:37] Speaker 4: live an abundant life, an extraordinary life, an exceptional life.
[0:43] Speaker 4: God doesn't want us to live average, mediocre. He doesn't
[0:47] Speaker 4: want us to be ordinary in our thinking. He wants
[0:51] Speaker 4: us to be extraordinary in our thinking. He wants us
[0:54] Speaker 4: to expect more. to go for more, to strive for more,
[0:58] Speaker 4: to be the very best that we can be. Do
[1:02] Speaker 4: you know when you're the very best you can be today,
[1:05] Speaker 4: your tomorrow will be better? See, when you prepare for today, hey,
[1:11] Speaker 4: you'll be ready for the opportunities tomorrow. When preparation meets opportunity,
[1:17] Speaker 4: it's called success. So I want to encourage all of
[1:21] Speaker 4: us to not have just this ordinary mindset. but have
[1:26] Speaker 4: an extraordinary mindset. Expect to be full of joy, abundance, creativity, blessing.
[1:34] Speaker 4: You know, Joel was just saying to us earlier, and
[1:36] Speaker 4: I think it's something that we need to hear when
[1:38] Speaker 4: we come to the house of the Lord, and we
[1:40] Speaker 4: need to express to ourself that we're a masterpiece.
[1:44] Speaker 2: We didn't just come off of an assembly line. We're
[1:47] Speaker 2: an original.
[1:49] Speaker 4: We have callings and giftings that are matchless. See, only
[1:54] Speaker 4: you can do what God's called you to do. Only
[1:57] Speaker 4: you were created to be you. You weren't created to
[2:01] Speaker 4: be anyone else. You weren't created to copy anyone else.
[2:05] Speaker 4: You were designed uniquely you. So get this down in
[2:08] Speaker 4: your heart. Get this down in your spirit today and say,
[2:12] Speaker 4: I'm tired of living ordinary.
[2:14] Speaker 2: I'm tired of.
[2:15] Speaker 4: Living just mundane. I'm going to start having this extraordinary mindset.
[2:20] Speaker 4: You say, but Victoria, my life is just routine.
[2:25] Speaker 2: You know what? All of our lives are routine.
[2:29] Speaker 4: Most of life is doing the same thing over and
[2:34] Speaker 4: over again. We get up in the morning. We go
[2:38] Speaker 4: to work. We do our jobs. We come home. We
[2:43] Speaker 4: wash the dishes. We take care of the kids. We
[2:46] Speaker 4: cook the dinner. We mow the lawn. We pay the bills.
[2:51] Speaker 4: Most of our day is routine. We go to bed,
[2:55] Speaker 4: get up in the morning, and do it all over again.
[2:59] Speaker 4: But it is our job to not get sucked into
[3:03] Speaker 4: that routine, but to cause our life to produce extraordinary
[3:08] Speaker 4: in the routine. You see, you were designed to produce
[3:12] Speaker 4: extraordinary in the routines of life. Think about this just
[3:18] Speaker 4: a minute. Anything that you do well, you have to
[3:22] Speaker 4: do often. And it is called routine. So we have
[3:27] Speaker 4: to know that when we're in the routine, we're in
[3:29] Speaker 4: the difficulties, we're in the challenges, all the things that
[3:32] Speaker 4: we all face, that there's extraordinary being produced. Because I
[3:37] Speaker 4: believe when we understand that we're not average and our
[3:40] Speaker 4: challenges weren't here to make us suffer, they're here to
[3:44] Speaker 4: bring something out of us. Our difficulties are here to
[3:47] Speaker 4: bring something out of us. Our routine is here to
[3:50] Speaker 4: bring something.
[3:51] Speaker 2: Out of us. I think about all the years that
[3:55] Speaker 2: I've loved my family. My children were born. I took
[3:59] Speaker 2: care of them. I changed their diapers. I fed them.
[4:02] Speaker 4: I gave them a bath. I taught them. I did
[4:05] Speaker 4: everything I knew to do day after day after day.
[4:08] Speaker 4: I've tried to be a good helpmate to my husband.
[4:11] Speaker 4: I make sure he gets what he likes. I cook
[4:13] Speaker 4: him dinner. I tell him what to do.
[4:15] Speaker 2: I give him vitamins.
[4:19] Speaker 4: I do my very best, even when they don't appreciate
[4:24] Speaker 4: it day in and day out.
[4:28] Speaker 2: But can I.
[4:29] Speaker 4: Tell you, even when they don't appreciate it and even
[4:32] Speaker 4: when it's difficult, do you know what the routine has
[4:36] Speaker 4: done for me? It's given me extraordinary. It is my extraordinary.
[4:43] Speaker 4: What is your extraordinary? I can see my life because
[4:48] Speaker 4: I was routine and faithful with what God gave me.
[4:53] Speaker 4: I now have extraordinary in my life. I think about
[4:57] Speaker 4: challenges and difficulties I've faced. Many times I think, I
[5:01] Speaker 4: just want to quit.
[5:01] Speaker 2: Is this even worth it? Is it even matter?
[5:05] Speaker 4: But I have learned when I've pressed through day after day,
[5:10] Speaker 4: those challenges day after day, it produced extraordinary lessons in
[5:16] Speaker 4: my life. Listen, when you are faithful, with what God
[5:21] Speaker 4: has placed in your hand, and you don't allow it
[5:23] Speaker 4: to become mundane and ordinary and give it just half
[5:27] Speaker 4: of what you could give it, you know what you're doing?
[5:30] Speaker 4: You're creating extraordinary. You're creating something to talk about tomorrow.
[5:35] Speaker 4: You see, sometimes it's not always easy to talk about it,
[5:39] Speaker 4: but if you'll stick with it, you'll have something to
[5:41] Speaker 4: talk about. You'll have something to be proud of. So
[5:46] Speaker 4: even in the difficult times, I want to encourage you
[5:49] Speaker 4: to stay faithful. God is preparing you.
[5:53] Speaker 2: You are passing the tests.
[5:56] Speaker 4: He wants to give you greater opportunity, greater life, a
[6:00] Speaker 4: greater destiny.
[6:02] Speaker 2: So we want to just live.
[6:03] Speaker 4: With purpose because I know how it feels. I'm preaching
[6:06] Speaker 4: to myself today. I have to get up in the
[6:09] Speaker 4: morning and I have to say, today is a good day.
[6:12] Speaker 4: I've got good things in front of me. You know,
[6:15] Speaker 4: what you say to yourself, the moment you get up,
[6:17] Speaker 4: it's going to set the tone.
[6:19] Speaker 2: For your life.
[6:20] Speaker 4: So you've got to get this down in your heart.
[6:22] Speaker 4: Even when it's difficult, no matter what's going on, on
[6:25] Speaker 4: the other side of that difficulty is extraordinary, right? You
[6:30] Speaker 4: can all say with me today, I have seen the extraordinary.
[6:35] Speaker 4: You're right, it was worth putting my effort into. Even
[6:39] Speaker 4: when I didn't see where the routine was taking me,
[6:42] Speaker 4: I now see this extraordinary job I have. I now
[6:46] Speaker 4: see this extraordinary family I have. I now see an
[6:51] Speaker 4: extraordinary ministry that I have. You see, you may not
[6:54] Speaker 4: see where it's taking you all the time, but it
[6:57] Speaker 4: will lead you to extraordinary. When Joel's father was pastor
[7:01] Speaker 4: of Lakewood Church, in his latter years, I would come
[7:04] Speaker 4: and get him and take him to church. I remember
[7:07] Speaker 4: one time we were in the back getting ready for
[7:09] Speaker 4: church and he had a woman who did his hair
[7:11] Speaker 4: and his makeup for television because we would broadcast the
[7:14] Speaker 4: Sunday services. And when I was back there one morning,
[7:18] Speaker 4: this young lady that did his hair looked at him
[7:20] Speaker 4: and she said, Pastor Osteen, I have.
[7:22] Speaker 2: To tell you some news.
[7:23] Speaker 4: She said, my husband is being transferred to another state
[7:26] Speaker 4: for his job. And she said, this is going to
[7:29] Speaker 4: be the last time that I'm going to be able
[7:30] Speaker 4: to do your hair and makeup. She said, I'm so
[7:33] Speaker 4: sorry this came so quickly, but this is one of
[7:35] Speaker 4: those things where I just have to go. And I
[7:38] Speaker 4: remember him just kind of sitting there. He was looking
[7:40] Speaker 4: at her and I could just see a thousand things
[7:42] Speaker 4: going on in his head and he didn't know what
[7:44] Speaker 4: to say.
[7:45] Speaker 2: So he looked at me.
[7:48] Speaker 4: And he said, well, Victoria, he said, can you do
[7:52] Speaker 4: my hair for TV on Sundays? I thought, I don't
[7:57] Speaker 4: have a cosmetology license. I'm not trained in this. Then
[8:01] Speaker 4: the next thing I know, they're both looking at me.
[8:04] Speaker 4: So I quickly just said, sure, I'll do it if
[8:07] Speaker 4: you trust me. Well, little did they know, I had
[8:11] Speaker 4: a little experience. When I was in junior high school,
[8:14] Speaker 4: I used to cut some of my.
[8:15] Speaker 2: Friend's hair and attempt at highlighting. But that day, I
[8:20] Speaker 2: was given a promotion.
[8:22] Speaker 4: I was now the hairstylist for John Osteen Lakewood TV
[8:27] Speaker 4: television productions. My family, a lot of my mother's side
[8:33] Speaker 4: of the family lives in Georgia and they were preparing
[8:36] Speaker 4: a family reunion and they had made plans, gotten hotels,
[8:40] Speaker 4: gotten locations. They'd put a lot of work into it.
[8:43] Speaker 4: And they called me up and they gave me the
[8:45] Speaker 4: date and they said, listen, we're going to have the
[8:46] Speaker 4: best family reunion.
[8:48] Speaker 2: You got to be there. This is the date.
[8:50] Speaker 4: So I checked the date and it fell on a weekend.
[8:54] Speaker 4: And I said, look guys, I can't come on the weekend.
[8:57] Speaker 4: I have to do my father-in-law's hair. And they were
[9:01] Speaker 4: like so disappointed. They were like, what? You can't come
[9:05] Speaker 4: and we've done all this planning. And I said, no,
[9:08] Speaker 4: I'm committed. We tape on Sunday and I have to
[9:11] Speaker 4: pick him up and I have to bring to the church.
[9:13] Speaker 2: I have to do his hair. Well, later on, I got.
[9:17] Speaker 4: Word that they were talking about me. I found out
[9:21] Speaker 4: that they didn't think my job was very important. And
[9:25] Speaker 4: they said, I can't believe that's all she does in
[9:28] Speaker 4: the ministry. I think she should be doing more. You know,
[9:34] Speaker 4: they weren't trying to be mean. They just thought my
[9:37] Speaker 4: job description should be different.
[9:40] Speaker 2: Well, you know what? That hurt my feelings. And I
[9:42] Speaker 2: got to thinking about it and I got a little
[9:44] Speaker 2: discouraged about it. But then I made a decision. I thought,
[9:48] Speaker 2: you know what? I'm going to let that go.
[9:51] Speaker 4: Because deep down on the inside of me, I hear,
[9:54] Speaker 4: be faithful in the small.
[9:55] Speaker 2: Be faithful in the small. Just be faithful in the small.
[10:00] Speaker 4: So I let that go and I decided to be
[10:03] Speaker 4: the best TV production hair person there has ever been.
[10:09] Speaker 4: So for several years, I'd pick my father-in-law up, bring
[10:13] Speaker 4: him to the church and get him TV ready. I
[10:16] Speaker 4: was committed to that job.
[10:18] Speaker 2: I was faithful. And in the routine of all.
[10:21] Speaker 4: Those Sunday mornings, all those weekends, I didn't realize that
[10:25] Speaker 4: I was building extraordinary into my life. You see, I
[10:30] Speaker 4: believe it built commitment in my life. I believe that
[10:34] Speaker 4: it was doing a work in me. It was causing
[10:38] Speaker 4: me to be able to understand the ministry life, giving
[10:42] Speaker 4: me vision. It was showing me what it took to
[10:46] Speaker 4: do this job. And I believe just through those years
[10:50] Speaker 4: of what some people may not have thought was important,
[10:53] Speaker 4: God did think it was important.
[10:55] Speaker 2: It was building extraordinary in me. And I believe that
[11:00] Speaker 2: I can do what I'm doing today.
[11:02] Speaker 4: I can be with my husband and help him push
[11:05] Speaker 4: this ministry forward because of the commitment and the faithfulness that.
[11:09] Speaker 2: I showed then. You see, in many ways, it prepared me.
[11:16] Speaker 2: So I want to encourage you today.
[11:18] Speaker 4: Don't let the definition of someone else's success determine your future. See,
[11:25] Speaker 4: someone might not think what you're doing.
[11:26] Speaker 2: Is very important.
[11:28] Speaker 4: They may look down on it. They may not realize
[11:32] Speaker 4: what God is doing in your life. He is preparing
[11:36] Speaker 4: you for greater opportunity. You see, because someone doesn't see
[11:42] Speaker 4: what you're doing doesn't mean that God doesn't see what
[11:45] Speaker 4: you're doing. Just because they don't think it's important doesn't
[11:48] Speaker 4: mean God doesn't think it's important. And I'm telling you,
[11:51] Speaker 4: God blesses faithfulness. We have to pass this faithfulness test
[11:57] Speaker 4: if we're gonna go on to greater things. You know,
[12:00] Speaker 4: one thing that I realize that really can reduce this
[12:04] Speaker 4: extraordinary life that God's given us down to ordinary is
[12:08] Speaker 4: when we compare ourselves. You know, we all know that
[12:12] Speaker 4: social media these days can make your life feel like
[12:15] Speaker 4: it's going nowhere. You look at these vacations, you look
[12:19] Speaker 4: at all the stuff these people are doing, they're highlight reel,
[12:22] Speaker 4: and you think, man, my life is just ordinary, routine.
[12:26] Speaker 4: I go to work, I come home, I go to work,
[12:29] Speaker 4: I come home, When do they have time to do
[12:31] Speaker 4: all this stuff? Well, little do we realize it took
[12:35] Speaker 4: them 29 tries just to get that picture right.
[12:38] Speaker 2: And then after.
[12:40] Speaker 4: They filtered it, corrected it, worked through it, then it
[12:44] Speaker 4: was perfect.
[12:46] Speaker 2: We know this, don't we?
[12:48] Speaker 4: We cannot fall into the trap of comparing ourselves Because
[12:53] Speaker 4: we're originals.
[12:54] Speaker 2: We're masterpieces. We're one of a kind.
[12:57] Speaker 4: The assignments that you're called to do are distinct to
[13:02] Speaker 4: your calling.
[13:03] Speaker 2: You fit your destiny.
[13:06] Speaker 4: No one else can do what you've been called to do.
[13:09] Speaker 4: Don't shrink your life down to mundane and ordinary. Stir
[13:14] Speaker 4: up the gifts of God within you. What do you
[13:16] Speaker 4: have in your hand that is going to be your
[13:19] Speaker 4: extraordinary tomorrow?
[13:21] Speaker 2: I encourage you just like I encourage myself. God is
[13:25] Speaker 2: a faithful God. Give it your all.
[13:28] Speaker 4: Be your best every day. Listen, when you prepare today,
[13:32] Speaker 4: you're going to be better off tomorrow. Know that when
[13:35] Speaker 4: you're faithful, you're going to have something to talk about
[13:38] Speaker 4: later on. Amen?
[13:40] Speaker 1: Amen.
[13:40] Speaker 2: He's an awesome God. We love Him.
[13:51] Speaker 1: The scripture says, write the vision and make it plain
