## Transcript

[0:02] Speaker 1: Welcome to Transformation Church Podcast, where we represent God to
[0:06] Speaker 1: the lost and found for transformation in Christ. We're so
[0:09] Speaker 1: glad you're here and wherever you're listening from, we believe
[0:12] Speaker 1: God will transform your life. Do today's message.
[0:15] Speaker 2: All right, I'm gonna read you a portion of scripture.
[0:18] Speaker 2: It is out of Songs Songs, Chapter eight. This is
[0:22] Speaker 2: written by David King David. You know, everybody, maybe you've
[0:28] Speaker 2: heard of David, David and Goliath. Maybe you heard of
[0:33] Speaker 2: David and you know that tough moment he had with
[0:37] Speaker 2: that lady that was named after a bathtub bath Sheba,
[0:42] Speaker 2: and uh, he actually killed her husband, which is super intense.
[0:48] Speaker 2: But yet we're all like, I want to be like David.
[0:51] Speaker 2: It's just funny. Anyways, move me right along. Okay. The
[0:55] Speaker 2: Bible says in Psalms, this is written by David, and
[1:00] Speaker 2: let's see here. I think in classic this. I'm sorry.
[1:03] Speaker 2: I do this in the text team. Every single week
[1:05] Speaker 2: I give him scriptures that I get up here. I'm like,
[1:06] Speaker 2: I think I'm gonna add more to it. I don't
[1:07] Speaker 2: know if I gave you all the whole chapter, but
[1:09] Speaker 2: I'm about to read the whole chapter, so don't worry.
[1:11] Speaker 2: It's only eight verses. You're like, oh, gosh, a whole chapter. Well,
[1:14] Speaker 2: we are in church, so calm down. Something were like, whoa, okay,
[1:18] Speaker 2: a whole chapter. What are we doing here? Here's what
[1:21] Speaker 2: the Bible says. I'm reading out of the message translation.
[1:24] Speaker 2: This was a guy named Eugene Peterson. He was a
[1:27] Speaker 2: famous theologian, but he was teaching college students the Bible
[1:30] Speaker 2: and they were staring at him with all of these
[1:32] Speaker 2: thousand those, and he was like, I'm gonna write a
[1:34] Speaker 2: version of this Bible where they can understand. It's written
[1:36] Speaker 2: in their language. So this is a paraphrase, not an
[1:38] Speaker 2: exact translation. If you gotta be with that, go chat
[1:41] Speaker 2: gbt it. I don't know. This is what it says.
[1:43] Speaker 2: Psalms eight, starting a verse one, God, brilliant Lord, Yours
[1:49] Speaker 2: is a household name, nursing infants, gurgle choruses about you,
[1:57] Speaker 2: Toddler's shout songs that drowned out the inner me talk,
[2:01] Speaker 2: and they silence the atheist babble. I look up at
[2:05] Speaker 2: your macro skies, dark and enormous, your handmade sky, jewelry,
[2:11] Speaker 2: moon and stars mounted in their settings. Then I look
[2:16] Speaker 2: at my micro self, and I wonder, why do you
[2:20] Speaker 2: bother with us? Why take a second look our way?
[2:26] Speaker 2: I want to pray for you as we get started,
[2:28] Speaker 2: Lord Jesus. My prayer is is that in these next
[2:32] Speaker 2: few moments, would you show yourself to us in a
[2:36] Speaker 2: grand and enormous way. God, we thank you that in
[2:43] Speaker 2: the context of how grand you are, that our life
[2:47] Speaker 2: finds a meaning and purpose. So today, Lord Jesus, for
[2:51] Speaker 2: the one asking questions, for the one with answers, for
[2:54] Speaker 2: the one wondering about you, I pray we would see
[2:57] Speaker 2: who you are. It's the name of Jesus, we pray.
[3:01] Speaker 2: And everybody said, amen. This morning, I want to talk
[3:07] Speaker 2: to you about space. I don't know if you've spent
[3:12] Speaker 2: any time studying space. Looking up into the stars last night,
[3:19] Speaker 2: if you would have walked out of your house, depending
[3:23] Speaker 2: on where you live and maybe the contents of the
[3:28] Speaker 2: city that you live in and how clear the skies are,
[3:31] Speaker 2: you would look up into the night sky and see
[3:34] Speaker 2: something like this picture behind me stars. Now, due to
[3:42] Speaker 2: the smog and the atmosphere and a lot of different factors,
[3:44] Speaker 2: with the naked eye, you can see about twenty five
[3:48] Speaker 2: hundred stars and for a significant amount of human history.
[3:55] Speaker 2: This is what every person saw when they looked up
[3:58] Speaker 2: into the scar until one evening where everything changed. In
[4:04] Speaker 2: the year sixteen eight, there is a Dutch inventor who
[4:08] Speaker 2: has invented this device that allows for magnification. And in
[4:13] Speaker 2: Tuscany there is a forty five year old inventor himself
[4:17] Speaker 2: who is becoming known in his city as a genius,
[4:21] Speaker 2: and simply off of hearing about this invention that uses lenses,
[4:26] Speaker 2: he creates something. The year sixteen o nine, a man
[4:31] Speaker 2: named Galileo calls what we would now come to know
[4:34] Speaker 2: as the telescope, and he peers up on this night
[4:39] Speaker 2: in sixteen o nine, up into the stars, and this
[4:43] Speaker 2: is what Galileo sees with his telescope. He starts to
[4:49] Speaker 2: make out that there's more than just stars up there,
[4:53] Speaker 2: there's more than what other people know, and he starts
[4:55] Speaker 2: to see other planets forming, and on this night in
[4:58] Speaker 2: sixteen nine, our understanding of the universe completely changes. Fast
[5:08] Speaker 2: forward three hundred and sixty nine years later, there's a
[5:11] Speaker 2: gentleman named Michael. Michael is a part of a mission
[5:16] Speaker 2: that is one of the most brave human feats of
[5:18] Speaker 2: all time. It is Apollo eight, and they have put
[5:22] Speaker 2: funding and practice and everything behind men to take them
[5:26] Speaker 2: to what Galileo only looked at from the ground. And
[5:31] Speaker 2: in three hundred and sixty nine years later, Michael is
[5:34] Speaker 2: standing on the surface of the Moon and he turns
[5:39] Speaker 2: a camera back at Earth and he takes this photo.
[5:45] Speaker 2: This photo would come to be known as Earth Rise.
[5:49] Speaker 2: December twenty fourth, nineteen sixty seven. For the first time ever,
[5:54] Speaker 2: humans are starting to see themselves in a bigger picture.
[5:59] Speaker 2: Earth and this is our home. This is where we
[6:01] Speaker 2: are right now. And although it looks calm and we
[6:06] Speaker 2: are all walking and living our lives, there's a lot
[6:09] Speaker 2: happening here. Earth on its axis rotating at one thousand
[6:16] Speaker 2: miles per hour, circling the Sun at sixty seven thousand
[6:21] Speaker 2: miles an hour. But it is not just Earth that
[6:24] Speaker 2: we are a part of. There is a bigger picture,
[6:27] Speaker 2: and it is our Solar System. You see, we are
[6:30] Speaker 2: one little ball on this rock called Earth, but it's
[6:34] Speaker 2: amongst other massive stars and planets in our Solar system.
[6:38] Speaker 2: And within this solar system, there are different places in
[6:42] Speaker 2: different planets, in different stars. And if you were able
[6:45] Speaker 2: to zoom out and look at our solar system. This
[6:48] Speaker 2: is what you would see Saturn's rings. The scale of
[6:54] Speaker 2: the Sun you can't even begin to imagine. And this
[6:57] Speaker 2: little solar system is not just a solar system. It
[7:01] Speaker 2: is a part of a greater story. You see this
[7:04] Speaker 2: solar system our home Earth finds its ultimate home in
[7:09] Speaker 2: the Milky Way Galaxy, and our solar system is in
[7:13] Speaker 2: the bottom corner of the Milky Way Galaxy, circling the
[7:16] Speaker 2: center of the Milky Way Galaxy at four hundred and
[7:20] Speaker 2: seventy nine thousand miles per hour. The Milky Way Galaxy,
[7:27] Speaker 2: it's flying through space at one point two million miles
[7:32] Speaker 2: per hour. You see on that night when Galileo looked
[7:38] Speaker 2: up into the stars, he didn't know it, but he
[7:40] Speaker 2: was slowly but surely starting to place humans in the cosmos. Now,
[7:47] Speaker 2: if you fast forward to December twenty fifth, twenty twenty one,
[7:51] Speaker 2: there is an extreme development in Galileo's simple telescope. It
[7:56] Speaker 2: is called the James Webb Space telescope. And this telescope
[7:59] Speaker 2: is like nothing else because it's giving us live imaging
[8:03] Speaker 2: of the deepest photos ever of space. If you were
[8:08] Speaker 2: to go four hundred light years away with the James
[8:11] Speaker 2: web telescope, This is the picture that the James Web
[8:14] Speaker 2: telescope took four hundred light years away. This is what
[8:19] Speaker 2: it looks like when a solar system is being born.
[8:24] Speaker 2: This is not a drawing, This is not ai This
[8:27] Speaker 2: is an actual photo four hundred light years away. Now,
[8:32] Speaker 2: unless you watch Toy Story last night, you haven't heard
[8:35] Speaker 2: light year in a while. Let me explain to you
[8:40] Speaker 2: what a light year is. A light year is the
[8:42] Speaker 2: distance it takes light to travel in a year. For context,
[8:48] Speaker 2: light travels at one hundred and eighty six thousand, not
[8:52] Speaker 2: miles per hour, not miles per minute, but miles per second.
[8:57] Speaker 2: One light year is five point eight eight trillion miles.
[9:05] Speaker 2: That photos four hundred light years away. Now, humans, we
[9:11] Speaker 2: have a hard ability and hard way understanding and perceiving
[9:15] Speaker 2: time and distance in space. And so even when I
[9:18] Speaker 2: say five point eight eight trillion miles per second, you're like, okay,
[9:22] Speaker 2: that's just super fast. But let me give you some context.
[9:24] Speaker 2: If I were to tell you how long a million
[9:26] Speaker 2: seconds were, A million seconds is eleven days, a billion
[9:33] Speaker 2: seconds is thirty one years, a trillion seconds thirty one
[9:42] Speaker 2: thousand years. So when we talk about light years, this
[9:48] Speaker 2: is a significant span of an ever expanding universe. If
[9:56] Speaker 2: you were to go two thousand more miles away, you
[9:58] Speaker 2: would run into this phot that the James Webb Space
[10:01] Speaker 2: Telescope took and it is called Ring Nebula. This is
[10:05] Speaker 2: of a star the size of our sun dying. If
[10:11] Speaker 2: you were to go a little bit past and zoom
[10:13] Speaker 2: a little bit further, you would run into this image
[10:16] Speaker 2: from the Space telescope. It is of Sagittarius Sea. This
[10:23] Speaker 2: is at the center of the Milky Way galaxy. And
[10:25] Speaker 2: as expansive and massive as this image is, this is
[10:30] Speaker 2: of a section of space no bigger than the size
[10:33] Speaker 2: of a grain of sand. The deepest photo we have
[10:40] Speaker 2: of space was taken by this same telescope, and if
[10:45] Speaker 2: you were to look at the deepest point four point
[10:49] Speaker 2: eight billion light years away, you would see this image. Now,
[10:58] Speaker 2: this image of deep space, the deepest photo we have
[11:06] Speaker 2: is not stars. You could look at this photo and thing, man,
[11:11] Speaker 2: that's a lot of stars. It's a lot of planets. Friends.
[11:17] Speaker 2: Those little dots are not stars, and they are not planets.
[11:23] Speaker 2: Each one of those dots is a galaxy. And in
[11:29] Speaker 2: every galaxy there are four hundred billion stars. And I'm
[11:34] Speaker 2: not talking Twinkle twinkle little star. I'm talking stars bigger
[11:37] Speaker 2: than our sun, and every single one of those galaxies
[11:42] Speaker 2: is also eight hundred billion planets in the deepest photo
[11:49] Speaker 2: we have of space tells us something that Galileo knew
[11:57] Speaker 2: in sixteen oh nine. It tells us something that, hilariously,
[12:02] Speaker 2: the Church threw him in jail for. He died on
[12:06] Speaker 2: house arrest from the church for what he discovered that
[12:10] Speaker 2: night and what this photo tells us, and that is
[12:15] Speaker 2: the only way to make sense of the universe is
[12:20] Speaker 2: to realize you are not at the center of it.
[12:30] Speaker 2: The only way you will ever find peace, clarity, purpose, conviction,
[12:37] Speaker 2: and a life worth living is to come to the
[12:40] Speaker 2: understanding that humans had not realized until sixteen oh nine,
[12:44] Speaker 2: when Galileo looked up into the stars and he realized
[12:47] Speaker 2: there is no way Earth is at the center of
[12:51] Speaker 2: the universe. And this reality was so jarring for people
[12:56] Speaker 2: because immaturity assumes I'm at the middle, may assumes everything
[13:01] Speaker 2: else revolves around me. Immaturity assumes that everything that's happening
[13:05] Speaker 2: in my life is the most important thing, and from
[13:08] Speaker 2: this is how everything else moves. But Galileo knew nothing
[13:11] Speaker 2: could be further from the truth. Galileo wasn't the first
[13:16] Speaker 2: person to suggest this, He was just the only person
[13:20] Speaker 2: who had the tools to observe it, because at this point,
[13:25] Speaker 2: everyone else thought the Earth has to be the sinner.
[13:30] Speaker 2: But he knew that the only way to figure out
[13:35] Speaker 2: where we really are in this place called Earth and
[13:38] Speaker 2: in this universe is to look up into the stars
[13:43] Speaker 2: and to figure out that there's a there's a bigger picture.
[13:48] Speaker 2: I want to submit to you today that one of
[13:52] Speaker 2: the most practical and profound things you can do in
[13:57] Speaker 2: relationship to your triggers is to do the same thing
[14:01] Speaker 2: David did in chapter eight of Songs He got a
[14:06] Speaker 2: Bigger Picture. He said, I look into the stars, and
[14:13] Speaker 2: I see this infinite place, and I wonder another translation
[14:20] Speaker 2: would say, who am I that you would even know me? Today,
[14:27] Speaker 2: I want to preach to you a sermon called get
[14:31] Speaker 2: a bigger Picture, because I am convinced that the reason
[14:38] Speaker 2: we are so triggered is not because you're triggered. What
[14:44] Speaker 2: I've learned in my own life is that the smaller
[14:49] Speaker 2: your picture, the bigger your trigger. Your issue may not
[14:56] Speaker 2: be your trigger, your issue my be How small your
[15:01] Speaker 2: picture is, it might be how small our perspective is
[15:06] Speaker 2: on life. How small our perspective is on our family,
[15:10] Speaker 2: how small our perspective is on holidays, How small our
[15:14] Speaker 2: perspective is on people we don't understand. I want to
[15:18] Speaker 2: submit to you today that if you're looking to move
[15:21] Speaker 2: past your triggers, maybe for a moment you could step
[15:24] Speaker 2: back and get a bigger picture. And this bigger picture
[15:29] Speaker 2: starts with one key understanding, and that is to acknowledge
[15:32] Speaker 2: you're not at the center of the universe. Now, some
[15:36] Speaker 2: of you are in here, like Charles, I'm not. I
[15:38] Speaker 2: know that I'm not at the center of the universe.
[15:40] Speaker 2: I'm not the center of any conversation. I would never
[15:43] Speaker 2: do that. You know, people who are prideful think they're
[15:45] Speaker 2: the center of the universe, and you're right, absolutely a
[15:51] Speaker 2: prideful person if they're talking, there's a lot of means,
[15:55] Speaker 2: there's a lot of eyes. You know what also has
[15:59] Speaker 2: a lot of means and insecurity. So don't stand there
[16:07] Speaker 2: judging people they so prideful. In the same way you
[16:13] Speaker 2: say I'll never be I can't, I won't. What do
[16:18] Speaker 2: they think of me? It's the same voice, It's the
[16:22] Speaker 2: same universe, the one where you and what you're going
[16:26] Speaker 2: through is at the center, and I'm not mad at
[16:31] Speaker 2: you for it. I get it one hundred percent. I
[16:34] Speaker 2: get it. All I'm submitting to you is that the
[16:39] Speaker 2: best parts of your life will be lived when you're
[16:43] Speaker 2: not at the center of your own universe. You see,
[16:49] Speaker 2: Jesus comes onto the scene in the scriptures. The reason
[16:53] Speaker 2: the Pharisees don't like him is because he's constantly trying
[16:57] Speaker 2: to give them a bigger picture, and they don't like it.
[17:02] Speaker 2: They have a picture. Their picture was if you want
[17:05] Speaker 2: to get right with God, you sacrifice animals, and then
[17:09] Speaker 2: there's this bigger picture called grace. We still don't like
[17:13] Speaker 2: this bigger picture because we like the picture where you
[17:15] Speaker 2: get what you deserve. You do bad things, you get
[17:17] Speaker 2: bad things. But the Gospel is a bigger picture. It
[17:21] Speaker 2: is you believe in me. I cover all the bad
[17:23] Speaker 2: things you've done, and as long as you believe in me,
[17:27] Speaker 2: you repent and put your faith in me. That is
[17:30] Speaker 2: all you need. But we like the smaller picture of religion.
[17:36] Speaker 2: I mean, it's hilarious to me. You may not know this.
[17:41] Speaker 2: Up until sixteen oh nine, church and science were never enemies.
[17:47] Speaker 2: The church funded all the scientists all the art, all
[17:52] Speaker 2: the discovery, because they had a perspective that if God
[17:56] Speaker 2: created all of this, we should be learning about it.
[18:00] Speaker 2: But the church, you see, was at a pivotal point
[18:02] Speaker 2: because there was this young man named Martin Luther who
[18:05] Speaker 2: had just nailed ninety nine thesis to the front of
[18:07] Speaker 2: the door. And so people are questioning the church. And
[18:09] Speaker 2: then this man Galileo was saying that the Earth isn't
[18:12] Speaker 2: the center of the universe. So in a grasp for power,
[18:15] Speaker 2: they put him in jail. And this was when church
[18:19] Speaker 2: and science split, and that apparently, if you believe too
[18:23] Speaker 2: much science, then that can't be faith. And what are
[18:25] Speaker 2: we gonna do? And how are we gonna reconcile those?
[18:27] Speaker 2: And some of y'all in here me having pictures on
[18:30] Speaker 2: the stars and on the screen, you like, okay, what
[18:32] Speaker 2: is this astrology? What be horoscopes? And I don't do
[18:36] Speaker 2: no that you raise. You raised that science and stars
[18:42] Speaker 2: and galaxies are spooky, weird Greek mythology. They have nothing
[18:45] Speaker 2: to do with you. Because you read your Bible and
[18:47] Speaker 2: God made the earth in seven days and that's what
[18:50] Speaker 2: it says, so I believe it. There's no way anything
[18:53] Speaker 2: else could be possible. Science isn't threatening to me because
[18:58] Speaker 2: I know God created everything. Oh, let me phrase it
[19:04] Speaker 2: a different way. I have a bigger picture. There's no
[19:09] Speaker 2: here's my belief I offer it to you. You can take
[19:11] Speaker 2: it or leave it laying right here on the third row.
[19:13] Speaker 2: I don't care. But one of my beliefs is if
[19:16] Speaker 2: you are seeking truth, you can't seek truth and not
[19:20] Speaker 2: run smack dab into God because He is all truth.
[19:26] Speaker 2: So every time a scientist is like, well we discovered
[19:28] Speaker 2: blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah, I'm like,
[19:30] Speaker 2: I bet you did discover it. There's a point in
[19:33] Speaker 2: which my wife was a little nervous. I'm not gonna
[19:35] Speaker 2: say the whole crazy take because my wife said, you
[19:37] Speaker 2: can't say that on stage because people will hate you
[19:38] Speaker 2: for it. If you want to know, come ask me.
[19:40] Speaker 2: I still won't tell you, but all I'll say is,
[19:45] Speaker 2: there's a point in space where literally time ends, not
[19:50] Speaker 2: not like in theory, like scientifically, there's a point in
[19:53] Speaker 2: space where time ends. You want to know my take,
[19:56] Speaker 2: I know exactly what's on the other side of that ending.
[20:00] Speaker 2: Tells me that he stands outside of time. I ain't
[20:07] Speaker 2: scared of no black hole. I ain't scared of no
[20:09] Speaker 2: space scientists telling me, oh, well, you know there. I
[20:12] Speaker 2: know exactly what's on the other side of that. My
[20:16] Speaker 2: Bible tells me what happens. And all I'm saying to
[20:19] Speaker 2: you is, maybe there's a bigger picture that you've been
[20:23] Speaker 2: afraid to get into, and it actually has the piece
[20:26] Speaker 2: that you need. Here's what the Bible says. I'll go
[20:30] Speaker 2: to Romans chapter eleven. I did not give you the scripture, Heather,
[20:33] Speaker 2: I'm so sorry. Romans chapter eleven says, for all things
[20:38] Speaker 2: were created by Him, through Him, and in him. You
[20:43] Speaker 2: know what that tells me? Even though we are currently
[20:46] Speaker 2: in an ever expanding, never ending universe, all of that,
[20:52] Speaker 2: the Scripture says, was by Him, through him, and currently
[20:58] Speaker 2: still residing in Him. Oh my goodness. Okay, ah, let
[21:07] Speaker 2: me just read you the scripture. Colossians chapter number one
[21:13] Speaker 2: says this. He is supreme in the beginning, leading the resurrection,
[21:21] Speaker 2: and supreme in the end. From the beginning, he is there,
[21:25] Speaker 2: towering far above everything. And everyone listen to.
[21:29] Speaker 3: This, so spacious, so expansive, that everything of God finds
[21:35] Speaker 3: its proper place in Him without crowding. Not only that,
[21:40] Speaker 3: but all the broken and dislocated pieces of the universe, people, things, animals,
[21:47] Speaker 3: and atoms get properly fixed and fit together vibrant harmonies,
[21:52] Speaker 3: all because of his.
[21:53] Speaker 2: Death, his blood poured out on the cross. If you
[22:02] Speaker 2: don't understand how big God is, it's very easy to
[22:08] Speaker 2: find yourself screaming in traffic because someone cut you off.
[22:16] Speaker 2: I'm connecting the galaxies and your triggers. This is what's
[22:18] Speaker 2: happening right now in case you don't know. If you
[22:22] Speaker 2: forget how big God is, you're gonna sit at Thanksgiving
[22:28] Speaker 2: dinner with maybe some amazing food and maybe some not
[22:31] Speaker 2: so amazing food. I don't know your family nor your
[22:34] Speaker 2: cultural background. I hope it's all amazing, but you will
[22:40] Speaker 2: sit there so triggered because you've forgotten how big, how grand,
[22:49] Speaker 2: how enormous and eternal that God. We're in here singing
[22:54] Speaker 2: to Is and David presents and I am presenting this
[23:01] Speaker 2: morning that one way you could live less triggered is
[23:05] Speaker 2: to just step back for a second and remember, I
[23:10] Speaker 2: am on a rock flying through the universe at one
[23:17] Speaker 2: point three billion miles per hour, and I don't feel it.
[23:22] Speaker 2: And that kind of messes with my brain. And he
[23:28] Speaker 2: just showed me a real picture of hundreds of billions
[23:32] Speaker 2: of stars. And I don't know if I believe him,
[23:35] Speaker 2: but if that's possibly true, and the god that I'm
[23:42] Speaker 2: singing to that the scripture says is intimately involved in
[23:45] Speaker 2: the details of my life, he also created that. Well,
[23:50] Speaker 2: if he's big enough to create that, he's probably he
[23:53] Speaker 2: can probably help me not be so triggered by what's happened. Now.
[24:02] Speaker 2: I gotta be honest with you. This sermon is born,
[24:06] Speaker 2: and I need to turn my clock back on because
[24:08] Speaker 2: I'll go till tomorrow. I have so much quantum physics
[24:11] Speaker 2: in my brain right now, y'all would be so bored.
[24:18] Speaker 2: But this sermon is really born out of me trying
[24:24] Speaker 2: to figure out how to deal with my own triggers.
[24:27] Speaker 2: I was telling my wife this the other day. I
[24:29] Speaker 2: don't know what is happening to me, And if you
[24:31] Speaker 2: know what is happening to me, please help just shout
[24:34] Speaker 2: it out from the crowd. I would love to know.
[24:37] Speaker 2: But the older I am getting and I'm not old,
[24:39] Speaker 2: but I am getting older, and I find myself being
[24:45] Speaker 2: way more rigid and like easily bothered by things, not
[24:50] Speaker 2: going my way. I don't know what. Maybe you pray
[24:53] Speaker 2: a lot and so this doesn't happen to you, but
[24:55] Speaker 2: like it does not take a lot too. I've just
[24:59] Speaker 2: I haven't lived lot of life, but there are things
[25:01] Speaker 2: that I feel like I've gotten some information. I've learned
[25:03] Speaker 2: some things I've learned myself. So when things don't go
[25:06] Speaker 2: with I just feel like I'm like, like I walk
[25:10] Speaker 2: around trying to and my whole parenting journey is like
[25:15] Speaker 2: don't okay, don't sit out, uh gentle parenting, Okay, sweetheart,
[25:23] Speaker 2: I'll be quiet. Okay, I'm gonna just letting no lie.
[25:30] Speaker 2: Last night my wife is like, are you okay? And
[25:32] Speaker 2: I was gonna, yeah, I'm just some of your like
[25:43] Speaker 2: how did this guy get a microphone? I just I
[25:48] Speaker 2: can't do it. And it's it's just it's everything, like
[25:52] Speaker 2: everything is like, Okay, I've been I'll give you a
[25:57] Speaker 2: real life example. I've been in church my whole life.
[25:58] Speaker 2: So I've been to thousands of church services, and no doubt,
[26:01] Speaker 2: this happens all the time, and it's happened. I wish
[26:04] Speaker 2: I could tell you it's not happening more, but it's
[26:06] Speaker 2: happening more. I go I get to the church service,
[26:10] Speaker 2: I'm like, all right, this is how it's gonna go.
[26:11] Speaker 2: And then it starts not to go to the place
[26:13] Speaker 2: because some of y'all you don't let me connect the
[26:14] Speaker 2: dots to you. This is my calling, but it's also
[26:16] Speaker 2: my job. So you know how you have a job
[26:18] Speaker 2: and you like plan for your day and it's like,
[26:19] Speaker 2: so it's a weird thing because I'm like, hey, God,
[26:21] Speaker 2: I love you. Also, what is happening with the lights? Like,
[26:25] Speaker 2: so I'm like trying to like Jesus, what is that? Okay? Yep, God,
[26:31] Speaker 2: You're worthy? Worthy? Are we? What time is it? Okay? Ah? Okay, yep, okay.
[26:40] Speaker 2: So this happened to me undisclosed number of weeks ago,
[26:46] Speaker 2: four point billion light years away in the far far galaxy,
[26:52] Speaker 2: and I'm sitting there completely triggered by things that should
[26:57] Speaker 2: not be triggering me, but I just have too many
[27:00] Speaker 2: control issues. So I'm just and I'm sitting there in
[27:03] Speaker 2: service and I'm just trying to like calm down, literally
[27:08] Speaker 2: like doing breathing techniques, and You're like, how are you
[27:11] Speaker 2: a pastor? I'm trying to calm down, and literally I
[27:16] Speaker 2: feel sitting there and we're in worship. I feel like
[27:20] Speaker 2: the Holy Holy Speer says, you're really gonna make this
[27:23] Speaker 2: whole service about you? None of these songs are about you.
[27:29] Speaker 2: Them lights are not for you. And nobody here today
[27:33] Speaker 2: showed up to hear you say anything. Are you really
[27:39] Speaker 2: going to make this moment about you? And what I
[27:46] Speaker 2: realized in that moment is the only way to not
[27:50] Speaker 2: be triggered but stay triggered. You can be trig I'm
[27:53] Speaker 2: fine with you being trigger but the only way to
[27:55] Speaker 2: stay triggered is to keep everything revolving around you. It's
[28:04] Speaker 2: the only way it works and the only way to
[28:08] Speaker 2: keep your small picture. Ultimately, you want to know where
[28:11] Speaker 2: ultimately our small pictures lead us, and buy small picture.
[28:14] Speaker 2: Let me define small pictures for a while, because there's
[28:16] Speaker 2: two forms of small pictures. They're sanctified small pictures and
[28:19] Speaker 2: then they're secular small pictures. So nobody's getting out of
[28:22] Speaker 2: here for free. So sanctified people, we love God. We
[28:26] Speaker 2: have some of the smallest pictures in the world. Certain
[28:30] Speaker 2: people are going to Heaven, certain people aren't. That's a
[28:32] Speaker 2: small picture of believers whole. I don't believe that, yes
[28:35] Speaker 2: you do, because I can name a couple groups of
[28:37] Speaker 2: people and be like, oh yeah, but they definitely are
[28:38] Speaker 2: clearly not going to heaven. We have pictures of who
[28:42] Speaker 2: we think God loves and doesn't love based on who
[28:46] Speaker 2: they are, what they do, how they dress, how we
[28:49] Speaker 2: perceive them, what they say that changes God's love for him.
[28:53] Speaker 2: Some of the smallest pictures in the world somehow ended
[28:57] Speaker 2: up serving the biggest God. And it's confused using to me.
[29:00] Speaker 2: Sometimes the smallest picture of redemption. Well, God will redeem
[29:07] Speaker 2: you once you stop doing that and you change and
[29:09] Speaker 2: you rebuke that, and you renounce this, and did you
[29:12] Speaker 2: have a list of stuff you renounced when he came
[29:15] Speaker 2: and found you? Or did he just come and find you,
[29:18] Speaker 2: scoop you up, empower you to believe and now you're
[29:21] Speaker 2: here different. Please do not come over here. What's that
[29:25] Speaker 2: small picture? Such a small picture of people, such a
[29:33] Speaker 2: small picture of God. Here's the small picture. You don't
[29:36] Speaker 2: realize everybody you don't like and are judging are just
[29:39] Speaker 2: as much as children as you are. It doesn't make
[29:45] Speaker 2: any sense. It's a very small picture. There's a secular
[29:49] Speaker 2: small picture, small picture of how you gain meaning and value,
[29:55] Speaker 2: money and success. That's how you become important. You do
[29:59] Speaker 2: these certain things. And here's what both pictures will lead
[30:02] Speaker 2: you to do. The only way to maintain your small
[30:07] Speaker 2: picture is at some point you have to stop rejecting truth.
[30:14] Speaker 2: This is what the Church did. In sixteen oh nine,
[30:17] Speaker 2: they had a picture that the Earth is the center
[30:19] Speaker 2: of the universe. Galileo is like, hey, definitely not, and
[30:23] Speaker 2: they're like, we don't like what that may mean for business,
[30:29] Speaker 2: So that's not true, do you know? Hilarious fact? Three
[30:33] Speaker 2: hundred and fifty years later, like in the nineties, the
[30:37] Speaker 2: Catholic Church issued a statement that said, turns out Galileo
[30:41] Speaker 2: was right, and we just want to acknowledge because you
[30:48] Speaker 2: have to deny truth for so long when you keep
[30:52] Speaker 2: yourself at the center of the universe. Here's ways we
[30:54] Speaker 2: do that. We assume everyone's motive is out to get you.
[30:59] Speaker 2: That's not true. You don't know their motives. It's impossible
[31:04] Speaker 2: to know a motive, literally impossible. Yeah, but I know, no,
[31:08] Speaker 2: you don't. You don't know their heart, you don't know
[31:11] Speaker 2: what their brain is thinking. No matter how long y'all
[31:13] Speaker 2: have been together, you do not know their motive. And
[31:16] Speaker 2: there's no reason the target cashier was intending to make
[31:20] Speaker 2: you feel dumb. You just felt dumb because you didn't
[31:23] Speaker 2: have your coupons on you. And now you're like, oh,
[31:25] Speaker 2: you want to talk to me. No that it's impossible
[31:31] Speaker 2: to know people's motives. You can't. But it's you start
[31:36] Speaker 2: denying truth. Everyone's out to get me. I have no friends.
[31:41] Speaker 2: You start using very definitive you always, that's not true.
[31:46] Speaker 2: Nobody always does anything but breathe until they don't. And
[31:50] Speaker 2: so it's that doesn't even really work. There's no always,
[31:54] Speaker 2: there's no never. It's not true. But what do you
[31:57] Speaker 2: do to keep the picture around you? You gotta start
[32:00] Speaker 2: making absolutes and denying truth. This is what has happened
[32:03] Speaker 2: with our culture the only way. Oh gosh, I got
[32:07] Speaker 2: too much stuff to say, and I'm trying to be
[32:09] Speaker 2: on time. Okay, let me talk about identity for a second.
[32:13] Speaker 2: This is gonna be a little rant, but it's gonna
[32:14] Speaker 2: be great, trust me. There is a theologian who wrote
[32:19] Speaker 2: on traditional and modern identity, how we gain these and
[32:23] Speaker 2: grow in these? Traditional identity was from outside in, So
[32:27] Speaker 2: you go outside of yourself. You go to your family,
[32:30] Speaker 2: you go to your job, you go to religion, and
[32:32] Speaker 2: you try to find truth outside of you, and then
[32:35] Speaker 2: you find whatever you deem its truthful, whatever religion you
[32:37] Speaker 2: deem is truthful, and then you adjust your internal feelings
[32:41] Speaker 2: to that truth because you realize I need something greater
[32:45] Speaker 2: than me, bigger than me, so I go outside of
[32:47] Speaker 2: me to find it and I adjust to it. Here's
[32:50] Speaker 2: modern identity. The universe is inside of me. Whatever is
[32:55] Speaker 2: true in me is the most true thing, and then
[32:59] Speaker 2: I tell everything outside to adjust to me, regardless of
[33:04] Speaker 2: if it's true or not. So this is how culturally now.
[33:08] Speaker 2: People's feelings are the god they serve most. So if
[33:12] Speaker 2: you feel like something, if you act like something, you
[33:14] Speaker 2: don't go outside of you for truth. You determine your
[33:17] Speaker 2: truth on the inside, and you tell the whole world
[33:21] Speaker 2: you now have to live to my truth. The only
[33:23] Speaker 2: problem with that is we all got different internal feelings.
[33:27] Speaker 2: So where does ultimate truth come from? Where does good
[33:31] Speaker 2: and bad come from? If you get to say you
[33:33] Speaker 2: feel like something and you are something, I'm not mad
[33:36] Speaker 2: at you, but you have no right to tell somebody
[33:39] Speaker 2: who felt like hitting you in the face that they
[33:41] Speaker 2: were wrong because they felt it, and you gotta adjust
[33:44] Speaker 2: to how they feel. And that's the truth. So I
[33:46] Speaker 2: can hit you in the face and you can't say nothing.
[33:52] Speaker 2: It doesn't make any sense. You have to have a
[33:58] Speaker 2: greater truth that is outside of everyone that we all
[34:04] Speaker 2: agree on and decide this is good, this is bad.
[34:10] Speaker 2: But we can't do that if we all get to decide,
[34:14] Speaker 2: the universe revolves around how I feel. Now, I know
[34:18] Speaker 2: some of y'all think I'm talking about certain people, but
[34:20] Speaker 2: I'm also talking about you, gol. That's a great illustration
[34:24] Speaker 2: post of that, and let TMZ pick it up. No, no, no,
[34:26] Speaker 2: I'm talking about you. When you decide who should and
[34:33] Speaker 2: shouldn't get grace, when you decide who God can and
[34:39] Speaker 2: can't save, when you decide who God's really anointing is
[34:43] Speaker 2: really on and who it's not on. When you decide
[34:48] Speaker 2: that it's okay for you to do this sin, but
[34:50] Speaker 2: this one isn't that big of a deal, And you
[34:52] Speaker 2: now have become the moral compass for sin and not sin.
[34:55] Speaker 2: Because we love to judge people. We can see their sin.
[34:57] Speaker 2: Yet you sitting there judging their sin, say sin, and
[35:00] Speaker 2: then taking it to your prayer group is gossip. So
[35:04] Speaker 2: where are we getting? Let me calm down, y'all, see
[35:11] Speaker 2: it's happening. You see I'm like, all I'm saying is
[35:20] Speaker 2: the Bible presents a way for you to live a
[35:26] Speaker 2: life where everything is in the right proportions, and everything
[35:34] Speaker 2: is balanced, and everything is understood in its proper weight
[35:39] Speaker 2: and scale. I have a two year old daughter named
[35:43] Speaker 2: Blue Sunday, and Blue Sunday's life revolves right now around
[35:48] Speaker 2: how much chapstick she can steal, take, acquire, and use
[35:56] Speaker 2: in one day. If you give her chapstick, it'll be
[36:02] Speaker 2: gone in two minutes. Did she eat it, did she
[36:05] Speaker 2: lose it? We don't know. This is true. I have
[36:11] Speaker 2: a kid who's currently eating chapstick, and so we're buying
[36:14] Speaker 2: the best kind we can just to she can't. Everybody
[36:20] Speaker 2: knows you can't stop a two year old. Come on,
[36:24] Speaker 2: But right now her life revolves and the good or
[36:30] Speaker 2: bad nature of her day is determined by this very small,
[36:36] Speaker 2: insignificant thing. But she doesn't possess the maturity to delineate
[36:43] Speaker 2: how important that is. But thank goodness, she has a
[36:50] Speaker 2: father whose whole job is to come up to her
[36:57] Speaker 2: and say, hey, I know that you really tore up
[37:01] Speaker 2: about that. And I'm not saying it's not important, because
[37:05] Speaker 2: if it's important to you, it's important to me. But
[37:09] Speaker 2: as your father, let me help you get some perspective.
[37:15] Speaker 2: I can get you more chaps think, let me translate it.
[37:19] Speaker 2: I can help you find somebody who's gonna love you.
[37:24] Speaker 2: I can I can help you find another job. I
[37:26] Speaker 2: know you're tore up about it. I'm not saying it's
[37:28] Speaker 2: not important, because if it's important to you, it's important
[37:31] Speaker 2: to me. But let me talk to you. Let me
[37:33] Speaker 2: give you some perspective. Let me help you. This isn't everything.
[37:36] Speaker 2: I promise there is a world that is bigger than this.
[37:39] Speaker 2: And I know you feel disappointed now, and I know
[37:41] Speaker 2: you feel overwhelmed now, but let me tell you something.
[37:43] Speaker 2: You're gonna live about seventy eighty ninety, maybe one hundred
[37:46] Speaker 2: years on this earth. But guess what, I've been here forever.
[37:50] Speaker 2: And when you're off these eighty years, you.
[37:53] Speaker 4: Gonna be with me for billions of billions of billions
[37:57] Speaker 4: of billions of billions of years, and you're gonna be
[38:00] Speaker 4: walking on streets of gold, and you're gonna be singing,
[38:03] Speaker 4: and the best choir ever singing, Holy, Holy, Holy is
[38:08] Speaker 4: the Lord God Almighty.
[38:10] Speaker 2: And I wipe every tear from your face. And this
[38:12] Speaker 2: is not an idea, and it's not a dream, and
[38:15] Speaker 2: it's not an imaginary place. Friend, the reason we worship,
[38:18] Speaker 2: the reason we sing, is because we have a bigger picture.
[38:27] Speaker 2: And all I'm suggesting is I know I'm the most
[38:31] Speaker 2: triggered when my picture is the smallest. It's hard for
[38:37] Speaker 2: me to focus on what's important because I've missed the
[38:40] Speaker 2: bigger picture. Today, I want to give you three ways,
[38:47] Speaker 2: three things that can help you get a bigger picture.
[38:51] Speaker 2: Number One, people, if you're trying to get a bigger picture,
[38:59] Speaker 2: you need people to help you get a bigger picture,
[39:05] Speaker 2: somebody outside of you. This is how you get a picture,
[39:10] Speaker 2: a bigger picture. Ask people, Hey, is there is anything
[39:16] Speaker 2: you would want to say to me but you'd be
[39:18] Speaker 2: afraid of how I respond if you said it to me.
[39:22] Speaker 2: Ask that question to your friend. Some of you are like,
[39:25] Speaker 2: absolutely not, There's no way. Is there something about how
[39:30] Speaker 2: I behave in our relationship that doesn't always make you
[39:35] Speaker 2: feel safe? Ooh see, we don't like these pictures, Like, yeah,
[39:41] Speaker 2: I think I like my small picture. I think I'm
[39:46] Speaker 2: not mad at you. I'm just saying, what what is
[39:48] Speaker 2: on the outside of your frame right now? Who could
[39:51] Speaker 2: you be who could you become? The other night, I
[39:56] Speaker 2: was talking to my wife and it was active. There
[39:58] Speaker 2: was a whole story with it, but I'll jump to
[40:01] Speaker 2: the end of it pretty much. I walked into the closet.
[40:03] Speaker 2: My wife was there and I told her. I was like, hey,
[40:08] Speaker 2: I didn't when I tell you, I did not want
[40:09] Speaker 2: to ask this question so bad, Like my insides were like,
[40:12] Speaker 2: don't do it, don't betray us. And I had to
[40:22] Speaker 2: like fight to get the words out. I was like,
[40:24] Speaker 2: do you maybe ever just a little bit kind of
[40:34] Speaker 2: think that maybe I'm a little intense with don't you
[40:41] Speaker 2: cover your mouth? Come on, John, I see you that.
[40:43] Speaker 2: He's like, what, you don't think you're intense? Said, do
[40:47] Speaker 2: you think I'm ever a little intense with the kids? Maybe?
[40:50] Speaker 2: She was like, well, it's not that. I mean you
[41:01] Speaker 2: you obviously love them. I say, you know it's bad.
[41:04] Speaker 2: It's like it's like I just think you're your passion
[41:13] Speaker 2: can sometimes And I was sitting there like Okay, I
[41:16] Speaker 2: get it, I get it, I get it. But it
[41:20] Speaker 2: was a real moment where I was like, okay, I
[41:25] Speaker 2: this picture and the one I had in this picture,
[41:31] Speaker 2: I just I don't like how I move and talk
[41:34] Speaker 2: in this picture. I don't always like how I feel
[41:37] Speaker 2: in this picture, and so I got to go to
[41:41] Speaker 2: somebody else to help. And then that night we were
[41:43] Speaker 2: having some friends. So I go up to my other
[41:45] Speaker 2: friend Carl, and I'm like, so today, Abby said that
[41:48] Speaker 2: maybe you know, sometimes i'm you know, a little and
[41:57] Speaker 2: my friend, who is also would be more intense than
[41:59] Speaker 2: I am. I'm He was like, yeah, definitely, you definitely are.
[42:06] Speaker 2: He was like, but he said, I didn't find that
[42:09] Speaker 2: out until years later in my journey. And now they're
[42:13] Speaker 2: all seventeen eighteen nineteen and I'm trying to adjust. So
[42:17] Speaker 2: how great is it to find that out with your
[42:19] Speaker 2: three year old and in that little moment the people
[42:25] Speaker 2: in my life help me do something. My second point,
[42:28] Speaker 2: get some perspective. You need people to help you get
[42:33] Speaker 2: some perspective. Just it's the same thing. It's just how
[42:38] Speaker 2: you see it. If I was to ask you, gentlemen,
[42:41] Speaker 2: right here, in this amazing green mint suit three piece, man,
[42:44] Speaker 2: you look amazing. What color is this? It's not trick,
[42:49] Speaker 2: just guess. Just clothe the Bible there black? Okay, I
[42:54] Speaker 2: think it's white. He said, Well, here's the point from
[43:02] Speaker 2: his perspective, he's right, and from my perspective, i'm right.
[43:09] Speaker 2: But sometimes because you're only on your side of the story,
[43:14] Speaker 2: you're only on your side of the situation, you're only
[43:17] Speaker 2: on your side of what you're experiencing. It takes some
[43:21] Speaker 2: people to say, hey, I know you feel that way,
[43:25] Speaker 2: and if you would come over on this side for
[43:28] Speaker 2: just a second, you would see why they act like that.
[43:33] Speaker 2: So yeah, absolutely, well I'm mad and you are right
[43:36] Speaker 2: to be mad, and there's a different perspective. It's a
[43:42] Speaker 2: greater story, and hopefully if you can get some people
[43:48] Speaker 2: thank you give you some perspective. Ultimately, it starts to
[43:51] Speaker 2: change your position, changes how you carry yourself. It changes
[43:59] Speaker 2: how you relate to people. It changes how you walk,
[44:02] Speaker 2: It changes how you talk, It changes your understanding of
[44:07] Speaker 2: where you are in all of this. And what I'm
[44:10] Speaker 2: saying today again, I do not at all, in no
[44:16] Speaker 2: way am trying to minimize what you've gone through, what
[44:21] Speaker 2: you're going through right now, what you will go through.
[44:26] Speaker 2: All I'm saying is sometimes it's helpful to just back
[44:33] Speaker 2: up a little bit. I'm gonna close, team. Could y'all
[44:38] Speaker 2: put that picture back up on the screen of the
[44:42] Speaker 2: massive galaxies for me, okay, So this picture is technically
[44:56] Speaker 2: a picture of Earth. Technically Earth's in there. And the
[45:06] Speaker 2: photo that I took my beautiful kiddo, Jade October, sitting
[45:13] Speaker 2: on the front road today and she has all leather
[45:16] Speaker 2: on because she said, gee, she has her pink Barbie
[45:21] Speaker 2: Jordan's on, and she has massive fluffy Christmas socks, and
[45:28] Speaker 2: I snapped and I took a picture of those fluffy
[45:30] Speaker 2: Christmas socks because her feet aren't gonna be that small forepper.
[45:43] Speaker 2: And this photo and that photo are both pictures of Earth.
[45:53] Speaker 2: It's just one. It's from a different perspective. This photo,
[46:02] Speaker 2: that photo, and there's another photo if you could go
[46:07] Speaker 2: to that photo team. These are all three different pictures
[46:14] Speaker 2: of Earth. And all I'm saying to you this morning
[46:20] Speaker 2: is all three of those photos, the ones you have
[46:25] Speaker 2: on your phone, this one and the ones zoomed out.
[46:30] Speaker 2: You need all of them. And there are days when
[46:34] Speaker 2: some of them will serve you better, and some of
[46:37] Speaker 2: them aren't gonna serve you well. Some of our pictures
[46:40] Speaker 2: are so zoomed in it's not serving you well right now.
[46:45] Speaker 2: To focus on that. I'm not saying that it's not true.
[46:49] Speaker 2: I'm not saying it didn't hurt. What I'm saying is
[46:51] Speaker 2: if you focus on who left you your whole life.
[46:56] Speaker 2: I'm not saying it didn't hurt. I'm not saying they
[46:58] Speaker 2: shouldn't have done it. I'm not saying they don't deserve
[47:00] Speaker 2: something that you can't even do. What I am saying
[47:03] Speaker 2: is right now, that is not helping you become the
[47:06] Speaker 2: person you say you are wanting to become. Because every
[47:09] Speaker 2: person that walks up to you, you're judging their motives
[47:12] Speaker 2: and you're assuming if they're gonna hurt you, and you're
[47:14] Speaker 2: afraid of relationships and you know you need it, but
[47:16] Speaker 2: you won't admit it. All I'm saying is there are
[47:20] Speaker 2: sometimes you gotta get a different picture. There are sometimes
[47:27] Speaker 2: it's gonna be important that you zoom up and you
[47:29] Speaker 2: realize today is the only day we got. You don't
[47:32] Speaker 2: know what would happen tomorrow, when the Bible says we
[47:34] Speaker 2: are not promised anything, and that would serve you well
[47:39] Speaker 2: some days to realize you don't have forever to say
[47:43] Speaker 2: I'm sorry. The Bible actually says, some of you are
[47:48] Speaker 2: so proudful you talk like this today, we will do this. Tomorrow,
[47:51] Speaker 2: we will do that. It says you should. If God
[47:53] Speaker 2: wills it, you'll do that. But it's prideful for you
[47:57] Speaker 2: to assume you got tomorrow to do what He told
[48:00] Speaker 2: you to do today. So sometimes you need that picture
[48:05] Speaker 2: that today is all I got, And sometimes you need
[48:08] Speaker 2: the picture that I'm gonna be with God forever. And
[48:14] Speaker 2: that person that's gone, they're gone, but not forever. The
[48:23] Speaker 2: Bible says, I'm gonna reade two scriptures. One is in Isaiah,
[48:36] Speaker 2: says this Isaiah chapter forty. So who is like me?
[48:43] Speaker 2: Who holds a candle to me? Says the Holy Look
[48:48] Speaker 2: at the night skies. Who do you think made all this?
[48:54] Speaker 5: Who marches out this army of stars each night and
[48:59] Speaker 5: counts them off, calls each by name, so magnificent, so powerful,
[49:06] Speaker 5: and never overlooks.
[49:08] Speaker 2: A single one. Bible also says in Colossians chapter two,
[49:35] Speaker 2: watch out for people who try to dazzle you with
[49:38] Speaker 2: big words. They're trying to drag you into endless arguments
[49:44] Speaker 2: that never amount to anything. They spread their ideas through
[49:49] Speaker 2: empty human tradition. But that's not the way of Christ.
[49:55] Speaker 2: Listen to this, It says. Everything of God, it's expressed
[50:01] Speaker 2: in him, so you can see and hear him clearly.
[50:07] Speaker 2: Listen to this. You don't need a telescope, a microscope,
[50:17] Speaker 2: or a horoscope to realize the fullness of Christ and
[50:23] Speaker 2: the emptiness of the universe without him. When you come
[50:28] Speaker 2: to Him, the fullness comes together for you too, for
[50:32] Speaker 2: His power extends over everything. Here's a beautiful thing about God.
[50:42] Speaker 2: That telescope we made can zoom out for a hundred
[50:48] Speaker 2: billion years and it would never find the end of
[50:52] Speaker 2: what He made. And at the same time, the Bible says,
[51:00] Speaker 2: you ain't got to look far to find me. If
[51:06] Speaker 2: you're in here and you feel like whether it's your
[51:09] Speaker 2: triggers or people, or it makes your world smaller, and
[51:16] Speaker 2: sometimes in that small world, you can feel like God
[51:19] Speaker 2: isn't close. You can feel like you're lonely, you can
[51:22] Speaker 2: feel like you don't have any hope. You can feel
[51:24] Speaker 2: like it's never gonna work out, you can feel like
[51:26] Speaker 2: you don't know where you're going. If you're in here
[51:28] Speaker 2: and you're like me and you're tired of sometimes getting
[51:32] Speaker 2: stuck in your small picture, I want to pray for you.
[51:39] Speaker 2: I'm gonna ask everybody to bow their heads and close
[51:41] Speaker 2: their eyes. If you're in this room and there's some
[51:51] Speaker 2: area of your life where you feel stuck in a
[51:54] Speaker 2: small picture. Maybe it's a fringe that's gone. Maybe it's
[52:05] Speaker 2: an expectation you had that didn't get met, a relationship
[52:09] Speaker 2: that didn't work out, something that seems you can't get
[52:14] Speaker 2: out of. You can't get over it, you can't get
[52:17] Speaker 2: past it. If you're in here today and you need
[52:20] Speaker 2: a bigger picture, I'm gonna ask you just to raise
[52:24] Speaker 2: your hand, every head bow, and every eye close somewhere
[52:27] Speaker 2: you need a bigger picture. Lord, Our hands are raised
[52:33] Speaker 2: because you're the only person who can give us a
[52:36] Speaker 2: bigger picture. Holy Spirit. We are asking you to do
[52:41] Speaker 2: something super natural, and that is to change how we
[52:46] Speaker 2: see it. To change how we see the pain, to
[52:50] Speaker 2: change how we see people, To change how we see
[52:53] Speaker 2: the problems we face. To change how we see the
[52:55] Speaker 2: things we're going through. Not to overlook it, Lord God,
[52:58] Speaker 2: but to look at it with the right perspective, Holy Spirit,
[53:02] Speaker 2: which you change the way.
[53:04] Speaker 6: We think, change the way I think.
[53:19] Speaker 2: We want to be different. If we're honest, this picture
[53:26] Speaker 2: hasn't served us. It's been safe. It's what we know,
[53:36] Speaker 2: but it's it's not who we want to be. So
[53:40] Speaker 2: give us a new picture today. Every head still bowed,
[53:45] Speaker 2: every eye is still closed. If you're in this room
[53:46] Speaker 2: or watching online and you've never accepted Jesus as your
[53:50] Speaker 2: lord and savior, the Bible tells us that we saw
[53:55] Speaker 2: God in human form when Jesus showed up. If you
[53:59] Speaker 2: are trying to find Jesus' scripture just said, you don't
[54:03] Speaker 2: need a telescope, you don't need a microscope, and you
[54:05] Speaker 2: don't need a horoscope. You can walk right up the
[54:08] Speaker 2: truth itself and it is standing ready, willing and waiting
[54:13] Speaker 2: to help you with whatever you need. The same God
[54:16] Speaker 2: who spoke the stars into existence is the same God
[54:19] Speaker 2: who can speak to the pain you're in right now.
[54:21] Speaker 2: And if you're in this room and you do not
[54:23] Speaker 2: have a personal relationship with Jesus, I'm not talking about religion.
[54:26] Speaker 2: I'm not talking about you have to talk to somebody
[54:29] Speaker 2: else to pray for you. I'm not talking about you
[54:30] Speaker 2: got to go through a lot of steps and do
[54:32] Speaker 2: all these time. I'm talking about you know Jesus Christ
[54:35] Speaker 2: of Nazareth for yourself, who is a real person, and
[54:38] Speaker 2: he's closer to you than your very own breath. If
[54:41] Speaker 2: you want that relationship today, if you want to lay
[54:44] Speaker 2: it all down for him. I'm not talking about this
[54:47] Speaker 2: idea where you do good things from here on out.
[54:49] Speaker 2: I'm talking about your life is not your own. You
[54:52] Speaker 2: don't make your choices. You will do what he says do.
[54:55] Speaker 2: You will go where he says go, and you will
[54:57] Speaker 2: be who he says be. If you are in this
[54:59] Speaker 2: room today and you're looking for a greater identity, you're
[55:02] Speaker 2: looking for a greater reality, You're looking for a greater story.
[55:05] Speaker 2: If you're in this room or online, I'm gonna count
[55:07] Speaker 2: the three. And if you want to accept Jesus as
[55:09] Speaker 2: your Lord and savior, you're gonna raise your hand strong,
[55:12] Speaker 2: not apologizing, and not worried about it, because you are
[55:15] Speaker 2: gonna find your place in this universe, and it starts today. One.
[55:20] Speaker 2: He loves you too. Today is the day of salvation.
[55:23] Speaker 2: Don't wait another day. Three, lift your hand right now,
[55:26] Speaker 2: all over this room, if you want to accept Jesus.
[55:28] Speaker 2: I got you over here, my man. I see you
[55:30] Speaker 2: over here in the back, A whole row of people,
[55:33] Speaker 2: a whole family right there, both of you together, I
[55:35] Speaker 2: see you, my man, so many people. I got you, sister,
[55:38] Speaker 2: so proud of you. I see you people online, all together,
[55:42] Speaker 2: in this room and around the world. I want everybody
[55:45] Speaker 2: to bow your heads, close your eyes, repeat this prayer
[55:47] Speaker 2: after me. Say, Dear God, thank you for loving me.
[55:51] Speaker 2: Dear Jesus, thank you for dying for me, thank you
[55:59] Speaker 2: for living for me. I admit I'm a sinner. I've
[56:05] Speaker 2: made mistakes and I can't fix it by myself. I
[56:11] Speaker 2: need you save me, change me, transform me, and Jesus
[56:17] Speaker 2: name I pray. Amen. Come on, If you love Jesus
[56:21] Speaker 2: and you're grateful for everybody who just made the choice
[56:24] Speaker 2: to follow Jesus, why don't you give him a shot
[56:27] Speaker 2: of praise. Hey, listen, if you just made that choice,
[56:32] Speaker 2: it's the best choice you can make in your whole life.
