We often think distractions come from people, places, or things—but sometimes, the biggest distraction is what’s happening inside of us. In Week 5 of Death to Distraction, Pastor Michael exposed the distraction of comparison through the story of Saul and David. When insecurity takes over, even our allies can start looking like enemies. We pray this message helps you break free from insecurity, comparison, and fear—so you can walk boldly in the confidence of who God has called you to be! [0:02] Speaker 1: Welcome to Transformation Church podcast, where we represent God to
[0:06] Speaker 1: the lost and found for transformation in Christ. We're so
[0:09] Speaker 1: glad you're here and wherever you're listening from, we believe
[0:12] Speaker 1: God will transform your life. Do today's message.
[0:15] Speaker 2: Get your Bibles out, get your notepads out, smartphones, dumb phones,
[0:19] Speaker 2: every phone is welcome here. We have been in a
[0:23] Speaker 2: series for five weeks now, and the title of this
[0:28] Speaker 2: series may be paramount, something that you need to go
[0:31] Speaker 2: back and watch every month this.
[0:33] Speaker 3: Week because the whole purpose.
[0:37] Speaker 2: Of this series is to help you figure out how
[0:40] Speaker 2: to put death.
[0:41] Speaker 3: To your distractions.
[0:44] Speaker 2: And the truth of the matter is, I've been talking
[0:46] Speaker 2: to some people and pulling them of what they're getting
[0:48] Speaker 2: out of the message, and.
[0:49] Speaker 3: It's so crazy that there are several people.
[0:51] Speaker 2: That have been around God long enough to think that
[0:54] Speaker 2: they don't need to zone in on what God's saying
[0:59] Speaker 2: to them about their distractions.
[1:03] Speaker 3: I have kept hearing.
[1:04] Speaker 2: How it's such a good series for people who are
[1:07] Speaker 2: distracted as if, and I'm talking about some of my staff,
[1:15] Speaker 2: some people that came in town like, oh my.
[1:16] Speaker 3: God, this is for those who are distracted. Hold on.
[1:21] Speaker 2: For those who are distracted, you know, for people who
[1:25] Speaker 2: deal and struggle and those type of cycles.
[1:29] Speaker 3: Do you know what pride will do. It will hinder
[1:32] Speaker 3: you from hearing God. And I just want to before we.
[1:37] Speaker 2: Go into this heat that's about to come here, I
[1:41] Speaker 2: don't want you to miss it because your pride makes
[1:43] Speaker 2: you deaf hear what I'm saying, spiritually not able to hear.
[1:49] Speaker 3: What God is trying to say.
[1:51] Speaker 2: Somebody say to me, So from now on, I do
[1:56] Speaker 2: not want you to think at all how anybody else's distractions.
[2:02] Speaker 3: Need to be changed through the word of God.
[2:06] Speaker 2: I only want you to think about the distractions that
[2:10] Speaker 2: have been keeping you from stepping fully into what God
[2:13] Speaker 2: has caused you to do. The distractions watch that you
[2:17] Speaker 2: have become so familiar with that you actually don't consider
[2:21] Speaker 2: them distractions anymore.
[2:22] Speaker 3: Yeah, I need you to be aware.
[2:27] Speaker 2: That certain things that you have deemed a part of
[2:30] Speaker 2: you are actually things that are keeping you from purpose. Today,
[2:38] Speaker 2: I want to tell you, scream to you, be your
[2:41] Speaker 2: alarm clock.
[2:43] Speaker 4: Focus focus on God, Focus on Jesus, Focus on his word,
[2:55] Speaker 4: focus on the instructions.
[2:58] Speaker 3: He gave you. Every thing else should be second. Is
[3:07] Speaker 3: it true? Plain?
[3:09] Speaker 2: Because the truth of the matter is there's a part
[3:12] Speaker 2: of me that desires to impress you and say it
[3:16] Speaker 2: in a brand new way so.
[3:17] Speaker 3: That it's like, oh, oh, that's deep. I can't because
[3:24] Speaker 3: it's so simple. Focus.
[3:30] Speaker 2: What happened to the thing God told you to do
[3:33] Speaker 2: during twenty one days of prayer?
[3:34] Speaker 3: We're only three weeks away from when it ended? With
[3:40] Speaker 3: three weeks.
[3:41] Speaker 2: Post twenty one days of prayer, fasting, you've gone back
[3:45] Speaker 2: on You've undone everything you did in twenty one days.
[3:53] Speaker 3: In three weeks? How lack of.
[4:02] Speaker 2: How did we get from where we knew God spoke
[4:09] Speaker 2: to us ten years ago to go into ministry and
[4:11] Speaker 2: go to this school and do what God told us
[4:13] Speaker 2: to do to now being like, I don't even know
[4:15] Speaker 2: what God's saying.
[4:18] Speaker 3: I don't even know if he hears me.
[4:21] Speaker 2: I'm talking about real things that I'm listening and watching
[4:24] Speaker 2: people somebody locked in when they're here in church, goes
[4:28] Speaker 2: off to school, don't even look like the same person
[4:32] Speaker 2: six months later.
[4:35] Speaker 3: How does that happen?
[4:37] Speaker 2: It's a lack, a loss or a distortion of focus.
[4:45] Speaker 3: And many of us watch.
[4:47] Speaker 2: This have lost our focus for so long it's become
[4:51] Speaker 2: a perspective.
[4:55] Speaker 3: You're not trying to focus anymore. This is just your perspective.
[5:00] Speaker 3: My perspective is that all people gonna do me wrong.
[5:04] Speaker 2: Because I didn't focus on mending that one relationship that
[5:07] Speaker 2: really had a tie to my heart. I never really
[5:09] Speaker 2: forgave them, I never really walked away from that.
[5:12] Speaker 3: I never did the counseling that I needed to do.
[5:14] Speaker 2: So now people are gonna do me wrong. Come on, y'all,
[5:21] Speaker 2: I'm telling you, if you don't focus, watch and fix
[5:24] Speaker 2: the things that God tells us in.
[5:25] Speaker 3: His word are important.
[5:27] Speaker 2: We will turn something that we have not focused on
[5:29] Speaker 2: intensely into a perspective about a whole group situation genre
[5:35] Speaker 2: all these things. God said, could you let me come
[5:39] Speaker 2: here and fix your focus?
[5:42] Speaker 3: How do we do that?
[5:42] Speaker 2: Pastor Mike, I'm glad you asked, because Hebrews twelve one,
[5:47] Speaker 2: our scripture of the year, says, Therefore, since we are
[5:51] Speaker 2: surrounded by such a huge croud of witnesses to this
[5:55] Speaker 2: life of fake, somebody say I live a life of faith,
[5:58] Speaker 2: say it like you mean it, life of faith. I
[6:02] Speaker 2: live a life of faith. I live a life of faith.
[6:06] Speaker 2: No matter what I see, I live a life of faith.
[6:09] Speaker 2: My faith will affect my life, my sath, my.
[6:14] Speaker 3: Prayer, my giving, my encouragement.
[6:17] Speaker 2: I live a life of faith.
[6:19] Speaker 3: Some of y'all need to say it.
[6:20] Speaker 2: By faith. I live a life of faith. I don't
[6:22] Speaker 2: know where I'm gonna live next year. I don't know
[6:24] Speaker 2: what's gonna happen down the road, but I live a
[6:27] Speaker 2: life of what say, I'm trying to inspire somebody to
[6:30] Speaker 2: stop living a life of fear, a life of failure.
[6:35] Speaker 2: When if you categorize your years by the failures that happened, Oh,
[6:41] Speaker 2: that's the year I lost such and such, and that's
[6:43] Speaker 2: the year that I didn't make it into this, and
[6:45] Speaker 2: that's the year they.
[6:46] Speaker 3: Left for me. And now you need to flip it.
[6:49] Speaker 2: That's the year that God let me survive that. That's
[6:51] Speaker 2: the year that God changed my perspective on that. It's
[6:54] Speaker 2: not that it didn't happen, but that's the year that
[6:56] Speaker 2: God made me in the something I wasn't.
[6:58] Speaker 3: That's the year I found out that I was built
[7:00] Speaker 3: like a dog. That's to hear, y'all gotta hear what
[7:03] Speaker 3: I'm saying. I live by.
[7:08] Speaker 2: Okay, So since I lived by faith, somebody say I
[7:15] Speaker 2: live by faith.
[7:16] Speaker 3: Some of y'all need to say that.
[7:17] Speaker 2: Every day you wake up thank you Lord for another day.
[7:22] Speaker 2: And today I'm gonna live by faith. Okay, So since
[7:29] Speaker 2: I lived by faith, I gotta undress some of this
[7:32] Speaker 2: stuff that tried to get on me. I know, culture
[7:36] Speaker 2: tried to tell me to put on this weight, my
[7:37] Speaker 2: family told me to put on this weight. I know
[7:39] Speaker 2: everybody's been trying to tell me to put on depressing
[7:41] Speaker 2: and anxiety and do all.
[7:43] Speaker 3: Of this other stuff.
[7:43] Speaker 2: But since I lived by faith, let us strip off
[7:49] Speaker 2: every way that slows us down, especially.
[7:55] Speaker 3: The sin that so easily trips usself.
[8:00] Speaker 2: Because the real reason I got to strip off the
[8:02] Speaker 2: WAI is because I got a race to run, and
[8:05] Speaker 2: I'm gonna run it with endurance. Not the race that
[8:08] Speaker 2: culture tells me to run, not the race that my
[8:11] Speaker 2: family laid out for me, not the race watched this
[8:14] Speaker 2: that I even laid.
[8:15] Speaker 3: Out for myself. This is where a lot of disappointment comes.
[8:20] Speaker 2: It's because you lay out somebody told you were beautiful
[8:23] Speaker 2: and you were tall, and so you should be a model,
[8:27] Speaker 2: and then somebody else like you should be a model,
[8:30] Speaker 2: and then somebody else, and you posed in the mirror
[8:31] Speaker 2: and you did a little thing, and you didn't and
[8:34] Speaker 2: you was like I do look like a model. No,
[8:37] Speaker 2: I'm just saying, I'm giving a very simple example of
[8:40] Speaker 2: how it happens. You get a couple of people to
[8:42] Speaker 2: confirm what they see in you. You never consulted what
[8:47] Speaker 2: God made you for. And now your disappointment. Fifteen years
[8:52] Speaker 2: in living in New York trying to be a model,
[8:55] Speaker 2: and the only thing you've done is walk up at
[8:58] Speaker 2: Madison Avenue looking at things in stories you could not buy?
[9:03] Speaker 3: Why don't?
[9:03] Speaker 2: And now you are disdained, frustrated, faith lost in God
[9:11] Speaker 2: because that's not the race. I mean, take some pictures,
[9:16] Speaker 2: but that's not the race. I mean walking to your
[9:19] Speaker 2: friends show, but that's not the race. I mean, model,
[9:22] Speaker 2: do do it, but it won't fulfill you, because I'm
[9:28] Speaker 2: not saying you can't do it, but just make sure
[9:30] Speaker 2: after you ran that practice round that don't count, still
[9:35] Speaker 2: have energy to run your race. So many people are
[9:39] Speaker 2: tired because they are running races that are.
[9:42] Speaker 3: Not actually qualified.
[9:49] Speaker 2: And right now, I'm just saying that sometimes that's where
[9:53] Speaker 2: distractions come from. Is us running the wrong race? He says,
[9:59] Speaker 2: He says, I want you to do this and run
[10:03] Speaker 2: your race that God has set before you.
[10:05] Speaker 3: Verse two.
[10:06] Speaker 2: And the only way We can do this by keeping
[10:09] Speaker 2: our eyes on Jesus.
[10:11] Speaker 3: Somebody shot at me. Focus the only way I can
[10:15] Speaker 3: do this.
[10:16] Speaker 2: With everything changing with a new trend, another reason to
[10:20] Speaker 2: be canceled another while everything going.
[10:22] Speaker 3: On, the only way I can do what I'm.
[10:23] Speaker 2: Supposed to do on this earth is focus on Jesus,
[10:28] Speaker 2: the champion who initiated. That means he started it and
[10:32] Speaker 2: perfects it. That means he's gonna keep doing it until
[10:34] Speaker 2: it's right.
[10:35] Speaker 3: He initiated it in me and perfects our faith. Hold on.
[10:40] Speaker 2: The only reason that I'm here is because I live
[10:42] Speaker 2: a life of faith. Then God is the one who
[10:45] Speaker 2: initiates and perfects my faith.
[10:48] Speaker 3: And he's gonna say the reason I can do this.
[10:50] Speaker 2: Is because I got proof because of the joy awaiting him. Jesus,
[10:53] Speaker 2: he endured the cross, disregarding it shame.
[10:58] Speaker 3: Now he rested, popped up in a lazy boy.
[11:04] Speaker 2: Not working, not moving, not trying to still do something
[11:07] Speaker 2: on earth.
[11:08] Speaker 3: That's the Holy.
[11:08] Speaker 2: Spirits job, now, he said, when he said it is finished,
[11:13] Speaker 2: he did. He is sitting there at the place of honor.
[11:17] Speaker 2: Besides God's thrown somebody shot at me one more time. Focus.
[11:22] Speaker 2: The only reason that I'm spending so much time trying
[11:26] Speaker 2: to help you understand the value of focus is because
[11:30] Speaker 2: we give so much energy to our distractions that many
[11:34] Speaker 2: times we don't remember the focus.
[11:37] Speaker 3: Have you ever tried to stop doing things so much
[11:40] Speaker 3: that you forgot what you were supposed to be doing.
[11:44] Speaker 3: Have you ever walked into the kitchen.
[11:46] Speaker 2: And was like, I gotta I gotta get some I
[11:47] Speaker 2: gotta get something to drink. I gotta get some drink. No, no,
[11:49] Speaker 2: don't talk to me, don't talk to me. I'm getting
[11:50] Speaker 2: something to drink. And then you stand at the refrigerator
[11:58] Speaker 2: and then it's not until you're getting different in.
[12:02] Speaker 3: It's awesome. Then you go back.
[12:07] Speaker 2: Distraction, distraction, distraction, and you're trying to block out all
[12:09] Speaker 2: the distraction, and many times the fight against the distraction
[12:14] Speaker 2: makes us forget to focus.
[12:18] Speaker 3: So today I'm gonna.
[12:20] Speaker 2: Help you because the word has helped me remember to
[12:25] Speaker 2: eliminate a distraction that's probably plaguing all of us in
[12:28] Speaker 2: some way or another. And so I begin to think, like,
[12:32] Speaker 2: all right, Lord, how am I supposed to help these people?
[12:34] Speaker 2: Because I've been telling him about Samson Samsa got his
[12:37] Speaker 2: hair cut off last week. I need to finish the
[12:39] Speaker 2: story because my man, Delilah, she up there just swooning
[12:43] Speaker 2: my man and she must got that uhi wali wally
[12:46] Speaker 2: because what's happening is like.
[12:48] Speaker 3: Why is this man going through all of this stuff
[12:51] Speaker 3: and all that. No, I'm just this is me thinking.
[12:53] Speaker 3: Just stay with me and my thoughts. And I'm like,
[12:55] Speaker 3: why are you gonna do that?
[12:55] Speaker 2: He don't let her cut off his hair, he loses
[12:57] Speaker 2: the problems all this other stuff. He said, Michael, come
[13:00] Speaker 2: out of the story for a second and let them
[13:03] Speaker 2: see the distraction from another person's standpoint.
[13:09] Speaker 3: And I said, okay, God, what you want me to do?
[13:10] Speaker 3: He said, I want you.
[13:11] Speaker 2: I want you to go about three or four chapters
[13:14] Speaker 2: later in the first Samuel, and I want you to
[13:18] Speaker 2: find my man over there.
[13:19] Speaker 3: And I said your man.
[13:20] Speaker 2: He said, yeah, yeah, I want you to I want
[13:22] Speaker 2: you to find my man David.
[13:26] Speaker 3: And I was like, I was like, oh, I know,
[13:28] Speaker 3: I don't know. That's Shiva and David. He said, uh uh,
[13:31] Speaker 3: cause that was a distraction, right, He was like, yeah,
[13:33] Speaker 3: but that was later. I want you to find out
[13:36] Speaker 3: where David entered into the story. And this is what
[13:38] Speaker 3: the Holy Spirit said, And why why do we meet David.
[13:44] Speaker 3: He's most people's favorite Bible character.
[13:47] Speaker 2: The name David was the most popular in eighteen ninety nine.
[13:50] Speaker 2: Everybody name it is, no not eighteen nine, nineteen eighty nine.
[13:54] Speaker 2: The name David is everywhere. Everybody cousin named David. Your
[13:57] Speaker 2: middle name is David. How many Davids we got in
[13:59] Speaker 2: the room right now? Middle, first or last name? I
[14:02] Speaker 2: saw you. You definitely look like a David. And what
[14:04] Speaker 2: I'm saying. What I'm saying is we love David, but
[14:14] Speaker 2: David wasn't always loved. And today I want to teach
[14:22] Speaker 2: you something that I've never seen before that I think
[14:27] Speaker 2: a lot of believers are doing, and I want to.
[14:28] Speaker 3: Help us reverse it.
[14:30] Speaker 2: But first, I think it would be easier to show
[14:33] Speaker 2: you what I'm talking about than tell you.
[14:36] Speaker 3: So let me put this over here. How many people
[14:42] Speaker 3: drink dark drinks? Come on Coca Cola, doctor pepper, come
[14:49] Speaker 3: on root beer. Something is wrong with y'all insights.
[14:56] Speaker 2: Y'all know, y'all can put whatever this is on your
[14:58] Speaker 2: car battery and.
[15:02] Speaker 3: The asset in the mind. That's not my message.
[15:04] Speaker 2: But you put this into you, okay. Inherently having a
[15:12] Speaker 2: cup of this is not bad. How many people have
[15:15] Speaker 2: ever met somebody wear their breath stinks?
[15:19] Speaker 3: It is it's a sin.
[15:23] Speaker 2: And how many people have ever used a Mento's to
[15:27] Speaker 2: neutralize Satan's.
[15:33] Speaker 3: Dragon breath? Okay, let's leave it up there.
[15:36] Speaker 2: There's nothing wrong with a mento's. A Mento's honestly is
[15:41] Speaker 2: good in many situations. There's nothing inherently wrong with your
[15:46] Speaker 2: dark drink of choice and moderation.
[15:49] Speaker 3: Okay, But if I take the top off of this.
[15:57] Speaker 2: And I decide to take these little things that aren't
[16:06] Speaker 2: supposed to be with this thing, and I decide.
[16:12] Speaker 3: Ooh, ooh oh.
[16:19] Speaker 2: Something that was neutral becomes nuclear when it comes in
[16:25] Speaker 2: contact with the wrong thing. Why did it overflow at
[16:34] Speaker 2: just the contact?
[16:38] Speaker 3: Neither one of the things were bad. This is a
[16:42] Speaker 3: picture of what I'm about to show. You write this
[16:44] Speaker 3: point down. That did seem evil? Didn't it fractured focus?
[16:54] Speaker 2: Turn something neutral into something nuclear? Passor Mike, explain yourself.
[17:06] Speaker 2: There is nothing wrong inherently with the Internet. The Internet
[17:13] Speaker 2: is neutral. It's what websites you type in that makes
[17:19] Speaker 2: it nuclear. Money is not inherently bad. Money's neutral. It
[17:32] Speaker 2: turns nuclear depending on whose hands it's in.
[17:39] Speaker 3: I just want you to think about.
[17:42] Speaker 2: The things in your life that are okay.
[17:46] Speaker 3: Until they get into the wrong people's hands. Relationships neutral.
[17:53] Speaker 2: Until they get into an abusive person's hands. Nuclear power,
[18:01] Speaker 2: we've made power so bad. Power is not bad in
[18:06] Speaker 2: somebody's hands that.
[18:08] Speaker 3: Has the heart of God.
[18:11] Speaker 2: Power is devastating in the hands of somebody that is
[18:17] Speaker 2: only trying to look out for themselves. A title is
[18:22] Speaker 2: not bad. It's neutral. Everybody say a title is neutral,
[18:29] Speaker 2: but some people use the title to turn people.
[18:37] Speaker 3: Into things that are this.
[18:38] Speaker 2: Small pastor Mike, why are you telling us this today?
[18:44] Speaker 2: I'm trying to give you an example of where we
[18:48] Speaker 2: usually put our focus.
[18:50] Speaker 3: We put it on the thing and not the person
[18:52] Speaker 3: holding the thing. You missed it.
[18:56] Speaker 2: A platform is neutral, it's who stands on it and
[19:02] Speaker 2: how they use it. It's where it can become nuclear.
[19:06] Speaker 3: A promotion is neutral. What are you trying to stay?
[19:09] Speaker 3: Watch this?
[19:10] Speaker 2: All content is either messed or it's either a mess
[19:15] Speaker 2: or multiply by the hand that holds it and the heart.
[19:19] Speaker 3: That controls it. Anything you have.
[19:25] Speaker 2: Is neutral until it gets into the hands of somebody
[19:30] Speaker 2: with a bad heart, a greedy heart, a heart that
[19:35] Speaker 2: does not want to see God's will be done. And
[19:39] Speaker 2: the reason I'm bringing this is because too many people
[19:43] Speaker 2: focus on the thing and not the person who's holding
[19:47] Speaker 2: the thing. I can tell you so many stories that
[19:53] Speaker 2: I was warned in church against things.
[19:57] Speaker 3: But stay away from that.
[20:00] Speaker 2: The problem was is that the person who was telling
[20:02] Speaker 2: me to stay away from it had already had evil
[20:06] Speaker 2: in their heart towards that thing. They had experienced that
[20:10] Speaker 2: thing in a way that they didn't tell me that
[20:14] Speaker 2: they had an issue with that thing. So they tried
[20:17] Speaker 2: to make it something for everybody to stay away from
[20:21] Speaker 2: because it was their issue.
[20:24] Speaker 3: Now, I grew up not being able to.
[20:28] Speaker 2: Understand certain things because I was told stay away from it.
[20:32] Speaker 3: But I had.
[20:34] Speaker 2: To realize in my maturity with Christ is that there
[20:38] Speaker 2: are many things that people will stay away from because
[20:45] Speaker 2: they think it's bad. Social media is not bad. It's
[20:48] Speaker 2: neutral until you get in them comments.
[20:54] Speaker 3: And sliding them dms. It was new.
[20:57] Speaker 2: Yeah, it was neutral before your curiosity, Yeah, before your
[21:07] Speaker 2: deceit secrets taser. Mike Brow, are you bringing this up?
[21:13] Speaker 2: Because I gotta set the table for the distraction that
[21:16] Speaker 2: has been killing many of us, and we're gonna find
[21:20] Speaker 2: it here. In First Samuel eighteen five through nine, it
[21:22] Speaker 2: took me fifteen minutes just to get you to see
[21:26] Speaker 2: that the thing may not be bad that's around you.
[21:30] Speaker 2: It may be how you're viewing that thing. First Samuel,
[21:34] Speaker 2: Chapter eighteen, verse five. Whatever Saul asked David to do,
[21:39] Speaker 2: David did it successfully. So Saul made him a commander
[21:46] Speaker 2: over the men of war. Who made David a commander,
[21:49] Speaker 2: Who made him a commander, I just want you to
[21:52] Speaker 2: stay with me.
[21:54] Speaker 3: He made him a commander over the men of.
[21:56] Speaker 2: War and appointed an appointment that was welcomed by the
[22:01] Speaker 2: people and Saul's officers alike.
[22:04] Speaker 3: Take note.
[22:05] Speaker 2: When the victorious Israelite army was returning home after David
[22:09] Speaker 2: had killed the Philistines, women from all the other towns
[22:14] Speaker 2: of Israel came out to meet King Saul, and they
[22:19] Speaker 2: dance for joy with tambourines and cymbals, and this was
[22:23] Speaker 2: their song. Saul has killed his thousands and David his
[22:29] Speaker 2: ten thousand. This triggered Saul. This made Saul very angry.
[22:38] Speaker 3: What's this.
[22:40] Speaker 2: Y'all gonna credit David with ten thousand and me only thousands?
[22:47] Speaker 2: Next they'll make him their king.
[22:51] Speaker 3: Point.
[22:52] Speaker 2: So from that time on, Saul kept a jealous eye
[23:00] Speaker 2: on David today, I want to expose the distraction of comparison.
[23:13] Speaker 3: David was not Saul's problem. Saul was Saul's problem.
[23:23] Speaker 2: The title of my message is a distraction named David,
[23:28] Speaker 2: because all of us, somewhere in our life, has turned
[23:32] Speaker 2: something neutral to nuclear because of.
[23:36] Speaker 3: Our own issues.
[23:38] Speaker 2: That was never supposed to be a distraction from me,
[23:40] Speaker 2: and I made it one that was never supposed to
[23:45] Speaker 2: be an issue for me. And I made it one
[23:48] Speaker 2: that was never supposed to be a problem for me
[23:50] Speaker 2: to go into that store, or be around those people,
[23:53] Speaker 2: or eat dinner at this place. But because I put
[23:56] Speaker 2: my focus on the wrong thing, I ate a distraction
[24:01] Speaker 2: that was actually supposed to be something that helped me. Okay,
[24:06] Speaker 2: some of y'all don't know the story, so I have
[24:08] Speaker 2: to go back and tell a little bit of it.
[24:11] Speaker 2: The problem with this is that David was sent by
[24:16] Speaker 2: God to torment all the things that were tormenting Saul.
[24:26] Speaker 2: Saul had done some things to get out of right
[24:30] Speaker 2: standing with God. We're gonna talk about him in just
[24:32] Speaker 2: a moment. So he now was able not able to sleep,
[24:36] Speaker 2: He had insomnia. Things were going on. He says, is
[24:39] Speaker 2: there anybody? First, Even before he.
[24:42] Speaker 3: Was having insomnia.
[24:43] Speaker 2: There was a philistine giant Taunt in his whole army.
[24:46] Speaker 3: None of his boys would fight him.
[24:48] Speaker 2: David comes along, kills his greatest enemy. Now comes to
[24:56] Speaker 2: a place where everybody like yo, Jesse boy, Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[25:07] Speaker 2: He was fine with that. Then he was getting tormented.
[25:12] Speaker 2: He said, can.
[25:12] Speaker 3: Anybody play the same? Dude who killed Joe? Giant plays
[25:17] Speaker 3: a mean guitar.
[25:19] Speaker 2: He begins to play his liar, and the evil spirits
[25:23] Speaker 2: go away.
[25:23] Speaker 3: The Bible tells.
[25:24] Speaker 2: Us, hold on, he done killed two giants in this
[25:29] Speaker 2: king's life, and.
[25:32] Speaker 3: Up until this point he good.
[25:34] Speaker 2: But it was after watch he put him in a position.
[25:38] Speaker 2: David did not position himself. After Saul put him in
[25:43] Speaker 2: a position, he goes and wins more victories.
[25:47] Speaker 3: Now watch this give me more context. Oh my god,
[25:50] Speaker 3: Saul is the first king of Israel. He has no
[25:53] Speaker 3: one to be compared to.
[26:00] Speaker 2: Abstraction of comparison is illegitimate because.
[26:03] Speaker 3: He only made one of you.
[26:06] Speaker 2: Oh my god, he only made one of you.
[26:11] Speaker 3: You're out here.
[26:12] Speaker 2: Comparing your eyes and your shafe and your status to
[26:15] Speaker 2: everybody else, and they cannot be compared because you're only
[26:19] Speaker 2: one of one. Saul is out here with nobody to
[26:29] Speaker 2: not a king.
[26:31] Speaker 3: Ever, yet.
[26:35] Speaker 2: His kingdom is expanding, His giants are being fought without
[26:40] Speaker 2: his hands. He is in a place where everything that
[26:45] Speaker 2: concerns his name is going to another level, and he
[26:51] Speaker 2: puts his focus on the song of some women that
[26:58] Speaker 2: he don't even know. Now you're saying it like it's.
[27:06] Speaker 3: Like, oh, yeah, that's so crazy.
[27:07] Speaker 2: But have you ever been in a place in your
[27:10] Speaker 2: life where things are actually good, where you felt good
[27:14] Speaker 2: about the staycation you had until you went on Instagram
[27:21] Speaker 2: and you saw that somebody went to Dubai on a wheel.
[27:25] Speaker 2: Y'all know what I'm talking about, social media influencer.
[27:29] Speaker 3: Somebody just paid for me to go to the Rits
[27:30] Speaker 3: calling in Dubai and you.
[27:33] Speaker 2: Was good, what your courtyard stay? You just told somebody,
[27:39] Speaker 2: You just told somebody how refreshed you were, and I
[27:42] Speaker 2: needed that and I had a long time. I got
[27:44] Speaker 2: to catch up on my series and he was like, yeah, I.
[27:46] Speaker 3: Know, I'm not gonna post that. And then.
[27:50] Speaker 2: To Loon, where the heck is Salon had nothing to
[28:01] Speaker 2: be compared to. But as soon as you put yourself
[28:06] Speaker 2: in a place, the distraction of comparison took your joy,
[28:12] Speaker 2: took your peace took.
[28:20] Speaker 3: It took your contentment.
[28:25] Speaker 2: And I'm just coming today to ask you, are there
[28:28] Speaker 2: things in your life that were never meant to be
[28:30] Speaker 2: a distraction but they are now because you have embraced comparison.
[28:44] Speaker 2: Saul listened to a song that made him sacrifice everything.
[28:50] Speaker 2: One song, one song by people who weren't in his
[28:55] Speaker 2: inner circle, one song not from his core, one song
[28:59] Speaker 2: from the crowd. One song made him sacrifice everything. If
[29:05] Speaker 2: you go on to read it, Saul spends the rest
[29:07] Speaker 2: of his life attacking the thing sent to attack the
[29:12] Speaker 2: things sent to attack him.
[29:14] Speaker 3: Run it back, it'll make sense. He spends the rest
[29:18] Speaker 3: of his life attacking David, the thing that was sent
[29:23] Speaker 3: to attack the things goliaths, Philistine's.
[29:26] Speaker 2: That he was trying to attack him. He used all
[29:33] Speaker 2: his energy, all his effort, all his power on a
[29:38] Speaker 2: distraction that was actually supposed to make him better. Okay,
[29:45] Speaker 2: the reason I'm bringing this up is because when most
[29:50] Speaker 2: of us get triggered, we focus on the wrong thing too.
[29:55] Speaker 3: Did y'all hear when he got triggered?
[29:58] Speaker 2: He heard them singing this so and he didn't think,
[30:02] Speaker 2: oh my.
[30:03] Speaker 3: God, this is what perspective is so key. He didn't
[30:06] Speaker 3: think I'm a good leader. Yeah, yeah, David, he did
[30:15] Speaker 3: ten thousands, that's all, did thousands. That's about of thousands.
[30:23] Speaker 2: I don't know how many thousands it is, but we're
[30:26] Speaker 2: in the thousands.
[30:30] Speaker 3: Because the kingdom was not.
[30:31] Speaker 2: Credited to David, the only king with no one to
[30:37] Speaker 2: compare himself to, so any credit.
[30:42] Speaker 3: Still gets counted for Saul. But his insecurity I got
[30:49] Speaker 3: goosebumps saying this. His insecurity took a song saying by
[30:57] Speaker 3: somebody on their first time coming.
[30:59] Speaker 2: Through, and all he did was focus on that. Y'all
[31:04] Speaker 2: gonna bring all tambourines out here. That's what I said,
[31:07] Speaker 2: is tambourines and you gonna sing this little who made
[31:12] Speaker 2: the song?
[31:12] Speaker 3: Who wrote it? Then? Can you give me? I want
[31:17] Speaker 3: to show them what it sounded like. This is what
[31:18] Speaker 3: it sounded like right here, Turn it up, Turn it up,
[31:25] Speaker 3: DJ he coming into town.
[31:30] Speaker 2: Song Kitsen tis the David two thousand, stalk killed two
[31:36] Speaker 2: thousand David two thousand. They not like, uh, they not
[31:42] Speaker 2: like y'all. Y'all say what I'm saying that like they
[31:46] Speaker 2: not like uh, y'all.
[31:47] Speaker 3: I'm just saying, think about it.
[31:51] Speaker 4: Thousand David ten thousand song kill a thousand David in
[31:58] Speaker 4: ten thousand.
[32:00] Speaker 3: They not like Uh, Okay, you can say that, but
[32:03] Speaker 3: I'm just I'm just saying culturally relevant. Saul sitting there,
[32:18] Speaker 3: I'm gonna sue whoever made that song. What I'm saying is,
[32:26] Speaker 3: what I'm saying is.
[32:31] Speaker 2: Instead of thinking, instead of thinking, man, we did that,
[32:37] Speaker 2: the chorus should have.
[32:38] Speaker 3: Been they not like us. He should have been able to.
[32:44] Speaker 3: I don't know what walking would have been.
[32:45] Speaker 2: I would the g walk, they'd be Goliath. Okay, they
[32:49] Speaker 2: should have been able to. They should have been able
[32:53] Speaker 2: to sing the chorus. He should have been dapping them up.
[32:58] Speaker 2: They not like uh, they not like us. They not
[33:01] Speaker 2: like us.
[33:01] Speaker 3: But because of comparison, all he heard is he's not
[33:08] Speaker 3: like me. I'm the king. He's not like me. They
[33:13] Speaker 3: didn't grow up in the family that I grew up there,
[33:15] Speaker 3: He's not like. Why did they get that? Why is
[33:19] Speaker 3: Michael Todd's ministry He's out. I'm just saying, we may.
[33:30] Speaker 2: Be supposed to be teammates. We may be the answer
[33:39] Speaker 2: to a prayer in the future that you need us
[33:42] Speaker 2: to win.
[33:44] Speaker 3: You need God to continue to bless this. You need,
[33:49] Speaker 3: but you will turn the blessing that God wants to
[33:54] Speaker 3: bring into your.
[33:55] Speaker 2: Life into something that becomes a burden. You chase for
[33:59] Speaker 2: them the rest of your life because you saw it.
[34:03] Speaker 3: Through the lens of comparis. I know I'm Pretcian.
[34:14] Speaker 2: Today, it's important for us as a church to realize
[34:18] Speaker 2: that this is the enemy's covert way of desensitizing the
[34:23] Speaker 2: body of Christ, because it's happening not from outside only,
[34:27] Speaker 2: it's happening within. It's happening in the same city. It's
[34:34] Speaker 2: happening down the street. It's happening. Let me tell Transformation
[34:38] Speaker 2: Church something. Whenever somebody speaks of another church in this city,
[34:43] Speaker 2: you speak well of them.
[34:46] Speaker 3: Look at me.
[34:47] Speaker 2: I don't care what they said about us. We are
[34:50] Speaker 2: on the same team. It's kingdom here. It doesn't matter
[34:54] Speaker 2: the insinuation. If somebody speaks negative about us, God bless somebody,
[35:00] Speaker 2: because at the end of the day, God fights for us.
[35:02] Speaker 3: Do you hear what I'm saying?
[35:04] Speaker 2: And maybe we were trusted enough to be used a
[35:08] Speaker 2: part of their growing process, But don't ever let me
[35:14] Speaker 2: hear you say I'll mess with that church because shut up.
[35:17] Speaker 2: Then if your heart has not grown to the place
[35:20] Speaker 2: where you can bless people that you know, potentially don't
[35:25] Speaker 2: share the same views as you.
[35:30] Speaker 3: It exposes our lack of spiritual maturity. He said. The
[35:35] Speaker 3: only way that the outside will know that your mind
[35:42] Speaker 3: is because.
[35:43] Speaker 2: For our love, our good words are encouraging words one
[35:48] Speaker 2: to another. The enemy don't got to do nothing about that,
[35:54] Speaker 2: because all you got to do is start comparing what
[35:57] Speaker 2: they did versus what you did. With siblings and parents,
[36:02] Speaker 2: y'all don't make it better. Don't ever say be more
[36:06] Speaker 2: like your brother. That is that's lazy parenting number one.
[36:15] Speaker 3: Okay, I'm gonna get in trouble.
[36:21] Speaker 2: You should be more like your sister, But I'm not them,
[36:26] Speaker 2: So it's lazy parenting to say because they have a
[36:30] Speaker 2: propensity to do these type of things, that doesn't mean
[36:34] Speaker 2: that I can't. I just may need to be motivated
[36:36] Speaker 2: and courage corrected a different way. And if you think
[36:39] Speaker 2: you're gonna copy and paste all the same parenting skills
[36:42] Speaker 2: to all five of the kids, you needed to stop
[36:44] Speaker 2: having us because this is the truth of the matter.
[36:47] Speaker 3: You're being lazy right now.
[36:48] Speaker 2: And I need something different than Gabriel. Gabriel needs something
[36:52] Speaker 2: different than Raphael rapti'l needs something different than do y'all
[36:55] Speaker 2: see what I'm saying. And many times, many times, we
[37:01] Speaker 2: sow the seed of comparison into our own children.
[37:09] Speaker 3: Why can't you, why can't you just.
[37:12] Speaker 2: You?
[37:13] Speaker 3: And then huh? And then to the oldest children.
[37:17] Speaker 2: We put an unrealistic expectation on them.
[37:20] Speaker 3: To be perfect.
[37:23] Speaker 2: So as soon as you tell them, be the example,
[37:27] Speaker 2: and now everybody's compared to you, they didn't start hiding
[37:31] Speaker 2: from you because they never want to disappoint your expectation
[37:36] Speaker 2: of them.
[37:40] Speaker 3: This is too much, Okay, let me go back to
[37:42] Speaker 3: the word. Let me just tell them what the Bible says. Jesus.
[37:56] Speaker 3: All I'm saying is comparison.
[38:00] Speaker 2: Is able to get into the households of believers, and
[38:04] Speaker 2: we don't even credit the enemy with it. We just
[38:07] Speaker 2: act like it's normal human behavior. I mean, I mean, yeah,
[38:15] Speaker 2: their marriage looks great, y'all know we do that. But
[38:23] Speaker 2: did you see how.
[38:26] Speaker 3: It can't be? There's no way, And.
[38:30] Speaker 2: Why couldn't you celebrate if it was? Why why couldn't
[38:36] Speaker 2: it be? Man? I really, I really pray that everything
[38:39] Speaker 2: that we see is actually man, that it's like that,
[38:42] Speaker 2: from the.
[38:43] Speaker 3: Root to the fruit. God, I bless that marriage. God. Man,
[38:47] Speaker 3: how inspiring father. Just thank you.
[38:51] Speaker 2: The problem with that is that takes humility to see
[38:55] Speaker 2: other people's greatness and still be able to celebrate it
[38:59] Speaker 2: when you're in a place where you don't feel that
[39:02] Speaker 2: same level of accomplishment.
[39:06] Speaker 5: Okay.
[39:08] Speaker 3: And what I know right now is comparison is killing Christians.
[39:14] Speaker 3: It's killing y'all. And it's not new.
[39:21] Speaker 2: It's all the way back when Saul, the first king
[39:26] Speaker 2: of Israel, comes in contact with one person who gets
[39:32] Speaker 2: a song made up about him.
[39:39] Speaker 3: What song.
[39:41] Speaker 2: Have you accepted as truth that it was just somebody's opinion?
[39:47] Speaker 3: How did those ladies know how many people were killed?
[39:55] Speaker 6: Okay, God, I just I just want us to.
[40:00] Speaker 2: Objectively think about this. How would they even know? Yeah,
[40:08] Speaker 2: so it just must have been their opinion of what
[40:15] Speaker 2: they did not see, but what they heard. And they
[40:20] Speaker 2: made up a creative lyrical poem set to tambourine.
[40:24] Speaker 3: In la.
[40:30] Speaker 2: And that's all it took to take a king to
[40:36] Speaker 2: a place of obsession. Yeah, Kings and queens deep in
[40:45] Speaker 2: the comments arguing we'll preach a man six one six.
[40:53] Speaker 3: No, no, no, I'm just you're the king of the race.
[40:57] Speaker 3: God has placed you in.
[40:59] Speaker 2: You now and down here talking about it. Ain't nobody
[41:02] Speaker 2: ever going to disrespecting me like that? And nobody because
[41:07] Speaker 2: watch this, Oh my god, Because of Soul's lack of focus,
[41:13] Speaker 2: he doesn't confront the young lady singing the song. He
[41:19] Speaker 2: confronts the one who's actually winning victories for him.
[41:26] Speaker 3: That makes no but distractions and comparison will leave you
[41:34] Speaker 3: in situations that are a conundrum.
[41:39] Speaker 2: Why am I even doing it? Why am I mad
[41:41] Speaker 2: at them? There are people right now you don't like,
[41:43] Speaker 2: just based off of assumption, you have no facts.
[41:48] Speaker 3: She just a hope.
[41:49] Speaker 5: You don't know that.
[41:52] Speaker 3: Look how she dressed. That means he a hope.
[41:57] Speaker 2: They're greedy? No, no, no, they were. They ate their food.
[42:01] Speaker 2: You didn't get food, and so now you're calling them
[42:05] Speaker 2: greedy when they were prepared the question And I'm saying
[42:11] Speaker 2: little things.
[42:12] Speaker 3: But how many times do.
[42:14] Speaker 2: We take something we assume and we turn it in
[42:17] Speaker 2: to watch this a truth?
[42:22] Speaker 3: Not the truth? A truth? That's the mike.
[42:27] Speaker 2: What can we do because we can't stop the things
[42:31] Speaker 2: from triggering us? Come on, let's be Are we a
[42:34] Speaker 2: hot church, humble, open and transparent? How many times you
[42:36] Speaker 2: can just walk into a place, see a type of
[42:38] Speaker 2: person and it's like, uh uh, trigger, ready to fight,
[42:43] Speaker 2: ready to cuss, ready to leave. Trigger doesn't always mean engaging.
[42:49] Speaker 3: Some of y'all get trigger when y'all see people and
[42:51] Speaker 3: be like, oh my god, a people, we gotta get
[42:55] Speaker 3: out of there.
[42:57] Speaker 2: Sometimes trigger makes you confident in one moment and you
[43:03] Speaker 2: get triggered in just how to protect yourself from comparison.
[43:13] Speaker 2: I'm gonna just give you four things that I learned
[43:15] Speaker 2: from Saul's life because he I should have titled it a.
[43:19] Speaker 3: Distraction made by comparison.
[43:24] Speaker 2: Yeah, because David wasn't supposed to be a distraction for him.
[43:32] Speaker 3: What distractions are you making right now?
[43:37] Speaker 2: What families are you supposed to be in relationship with
[43:41] Speaker 2: that you won't even go towards because of the way
[43:45] Speaker 2: y'all met, or you scrolling on.
[43:48] Speaker 3: Ig actually never having a conversation with them, but you.
[43:52] Speaker 2: Heard what somebody else said about them. Your business would
[43:56] Speaker 2: flourish if you teamed up with that other gym. But
[44:00] Speaker 2: because somebody who paid you for two weeks and then
[44:04] Speaker 2: went over there and paid them for two weeks, came
[44:06] Speaker 2: back and made a song.
[44:09] Speaker 3: There, Jim, don't have this.
[44:10] Speaker 2: I like being here with y'all because you da da
[44:12] Speaker 2: da da. And now you looking at somebody you never
[44:15] Speaker 2: met who's supposed to be the answer to your prayer
[44:17] Speaker 2: to actually take over the city.
[44:19] Speaker 3: In this area. You've made them into competition, comparison and distraction.
[44:30] Speaker 2: I'm just giving you all examples because the Holy Spirit
[44:33] Speaker 2: is really giving me a lot of them.
[44:34] Speaker 3: Married people, how in the world did you marry that person?
[44:40] Speaker 2: You loved them for years, and now they're your competitor
[44:44] Speaker 2: laying in the same bed because of the walls of
[44:49] Speaker 2: pride that have been built up. And now you compare
[44:53] Speaker 2: how much money they make versus how much money you make,
[44:56] Speaker 2: how much money they spend versus how much money I
[44:58] Speaker 2: seen you on Amazon, how much they hobby costs as
[45:03] Speaker 2: much as how much your nails and eyelashes.
[45:05] Speaker 3: And lipstick and collagen.
[45:07] Speaker 2: And okay, I'm just and you turn the person watched
[45:17] Speaker 2: this that was supposed to compliment you, you turn them
[45:22] Speaker 2: into competition. Let me tell you the first way that
[45:31] Speaker 2: I figured out that Saul got to this place of
[45:36] Speaker 2: making David a distraction. It was disobedience. Write this down.
[45:43] Speaker 2: Disobedience leads to insecurity.
[45:47] Speaker 3: A lot of.
[45:47] Speaker 2: Times people be like, don't disobey God, because when you
[45:51] Speaker 2: disobey God, things can happen. And it's like, yeah, but
[45:56] Speaker 2: we serve a gracious God. We serve a God that
[45:59] Speaker 2: pours out his faith on this and his mercy even
[46:01] Speaker 2: when we don't deserve it. God will take his hand
[46:05] Speaker 2: off of certain stuff. He's not gonna bless foolishness over
[46:09] Speaker 2: and over and over and over and over again until
[46:11] Speaker 2: we actually make a decision to repent. But what I
[46:15] Speaker 2: found out is even when I don't experience the consequences
[46:19] Speaker 2: of my disobedience on an outward level, my inward self
[46:24] Speaker 2: takes a hit. So when I disobey God, my insecurity
[46:31] Speaker 2: start to flare up because I know who I am
[46:35] Speaker 2: with God.
[46:35] Speaker 3: When y'all saw me do that, are got the keys,
[46:37] Speaker 3: the keys, the keys?
[46:38] Speaker 2: That wasn't Michael Todd the keys, the keys? I lose
[46:41] Speaker 2: my keys? Do you understand what I'm saying?
[46:43] Speaker 3: That that ain't that ain't like are got the keys
[46:47] Speaker 3: the key? The only way I was on top of
[46:48] Speaker 3: this build and say I got the keys, the keys,
[46:50] Speaker 3: the keys.
[46:51] Speaker 2: It's because of my relationship in obedience to God, And
[46:58] Speaker 2: as soon as I disobey God, all of my flesh
[47:04] Speaker 2: regular self shows back up.
[47:11] Speaker 3: Here. I am Lord.
[47:13] Speaker 2: That's why sometimes I be so shocked that he still
[47:15] Speaker 2: want to use me. And that's why God's saying, just
[47:19] Speaker 2: obey me, keep me close.
[47:21] Speaker 3: You look different. I got this picture in my head
[47:24] Speaker 3: like I'm iron man with God.
[47:29] Speaker 2: Did y'all like when I'm with God, you don't.
[47:32] Speaker 3: Even see me. I'm flying, y'all know what I'm saying.
[47:40] Speaker 3: I'm out of here with God. Huh, I'm here. But
[47:47] Speaker 3: when you walk around doing this with God not on you.
[47:57] Speaker 2: This is how much believers look. We disobey God. And
[48:01] Speaker 2: I'm like, no, I'm gonna pray for you. We're gonna
[48:10] Speaker 2: invite God's presence, no power. What I need, what I
[48:20] Speaker 2: need to be seen in at all times. It's the
[48:24] Speaker 2: obedience of God. But this is the problem with Saul.
[48:30] Speaker 2: Was he the second king? He was the first king.
[48:34] Speaker 2: Let's say it like this first and only, first and
[48:40] Speaker 2: only king. Yet he disobeys God, which leads him back
[48:46] Speaker 2: to his insecurity.
[48:48] Speaker 3: All of us start with insecurity.
[48:50] Speaker 2: Yeah, but when you step into God, it seems like
[48:55] Speaker 2: those insecurities don't define you anymore. Not that got him.
[49:01] Speaker 2: This is not the thing you notice about me. People like, man,
[49:03] Speaker 2: you're so confidence. No, actually, I'm scared. Come on, Oh
[49:08] Speaker 2: my god, Cousin'm like, do you ever get nervous every
[49:11] Speaker 2: time I get up here?
[49:13] Speaker 3: But as soon as I put.
[49:14] Speaker 2: My knees on that concrete and I say, Father, this
[49:18] Speaker 2: is not me speaking, but use me as an oracle.
[49:21] Speaker 3: Let your word come.
[49:22] Speaker 2: Out of me, take over all my faculties, Holy Spirit,
[49:25] Speaker 2: tag team back again.
[49:27] Speaker 3: Let's do what you do when I do that, Bob,
[49:31] Speaker 3: that's suited. Do you understand what I'm saying?
[49:37] Speaker 2: But what disobedience does disarms that I can act like
[49:43] Speaker 2: I'm standing in it.
[49:44] Speaker 3: No power and one Samuel thirteen.
[49:48] Speaker 2: If you go back, you gotta understand that Samuel was
[49:53] Speaker 2: a prophet and he's the one that anointed Saul is king.
[49:58] Speaker 3: Saw I didn't even want to be king. His securities
[50:00] Speaker 3: were so bad.
[50:01] Speaker 2: That when they went to acknowledge him as king before
[50:03] Speaker 2: the people, he was hiding in the luggage. He couldn't
[50:08] Speaker 2: He couldn't fathom that God wanted to use him that way.
[50:12] Speaker 2: He couldn't fathom that from his tribe and at his
[50:15] Speaker 2: age and with his issues, that God wanted to use him.
[50:18] Speaker 2: But my God has a way of taking people who
[50:22] Speaker 2: don't even view themselves.
[50:23] Speaker 3: As qualified for.
[50:25] Speaker 2: The position Atohol, and he has a way of pointing
[50:28] Speaker 2: them out and saying you me.
[50:30] Speaker 3: Yes, you, I want to use you.
[50:32] Speaker 2: I want to I want to make you into what
[50:34] Speaker 2: you never thought you could be. I want to change
[50:37] Speaker 2: generations through your life. We hiding behind our luggage, our baggage.
[50:45] Speaker 2: He gets called out of that, gets anointed as king.
[50:49] Speaker 2: And then there was battles happening. And when the battles
[50:52] Speaker 2: were happening, God gave specific instruction through the prophet Samuel,
[50:55] Speaker 2: and he said, hey, listen, we're going to do a
[50:58] Speaker 2: ceremony that honors God, and it's going to cause you
[51:01] Speaker 2: to win victory.
[51:02] Speaker 3: I'm coming back. Do not do it without me first Samuel.
[51:08] Speaker 2: Thirteen eleven, Saul sees people in his army starting to
[51:16] Speaker 2: get killed. He sees people getting killed. He's focusing on
[51:25] Speaker 2: the wrong thing, and he.
[51:28] Speaker 3: Goes ahead, and he goes ahead and does the sacrifice
[51:31] Speaker 3: without Samuel. As soon as he finishes, Samuel walks up,
[51:36] Speaker 3: ain't that how it happened?
[51:39] Speaker 2: But Samuel said, what have you done? Saul replied, hey, hey,
[51:42] Speaker 2: don't even worry about it. I've seen you do it before.
[51:44] Speaker 2: I saw my men scattering from me, and you didn't
[51:48] Speaker 2: arrive watch this when you said you would. And the
[51:51] Speaker 2: Philistines are out Migmash, ready to big bash, so I said.
[51:57] Speaker 2: The Philistines are ready to march against us at Gilgall,
[52:00] Speaker 2: and I.
[52:00] Speaker 3: Haven't even asked for the Lord's hell.
[52:03] Speaker 2: So I was compelled to offer the burn off a
[52:09] Speaker 2: ya offer the burn offering myself. Try to make it spiritual.
[52:15] Speaker 2: I did what God told me not to.
[52:16] Speaker 3: Do, but I did it because I felt compelled. I
[52:21] Speaker 3: felt an unction hey to go and talk to her. No,
[52:24] Speaker 3: you didn't. God told you to be single in this season.
[52:29] Speaker 3: But I offered it myself before I know, I was
[52:31] Speaker 3: before you came.
[52:33] Speaker 2: Samuel, How foolish you have not kept the command the Lord,
[52:41] Speaker 2: your God gave you.
[52:42] Speaker 3: You did not obey. Watch this.
[52:45] Speaker 2: Had you have obeyed, the Lord would have established your
[52:50] Speaker 2: kingdom over Issuel forever.
[52:52] Speaker 3: Oh my gosh.
[52:54] Speaker 2: This means if he would have focused on the thing
[52:56] Speaker 2: God said and not got distracted by the people scattering,
[53:00] Speaker 2: we would have never met David. David is Saul's replacement
[53:08] Speaker 2: because of distraction.
[53:11] Speaker 3: Come close.
[53:13] Speaker 2: The only reason we know David is because Saul got distracted.
[53:21] Speaker 2: I hope we never have to meet your replacement because
[53:27] Speaker 2: you didn't fix your focus. I've decided I'm not meeting
[53:39] Speaker 2: my replacement out of disobedience for God. I could be
[53:44] Speaker 2: in the seat at Transformation Church talking about the band
[53:46] Speaker 2: this church is crazy, bar love this church, the music,
[53:48] Speaker 2: and da da dah sitting there because I did not
[53:50] Speaker 2: obey God when bishops said it's time for you to
[53:53] Speaker 2: relead this church.
[53:54] Speaker 3: I could be given big off friends and.
[53:57] Speaker 2: In full disobedience watching somebody else up heear doing what
[54:02] Speaker 2: God called me to do, and Saul didn't even recognize
[54:07] Speaker 2: that he didn't mess it up just for him. The
[54:12] Speaker 2: Bible says that the Lord would have established your kingdom
[54:16] Speaker 2: over Israel forever.
[54:19] Speaker 7: You just robbed your children and their children and their
[54:25] Speaker 7: children of royalty because you couldn't fix your focus.
[54:36] Speaker 2: He says, But since you didn't do this verse fourteen,
[54:39] Speaker 2: but now not, your kingdom must have a break. It said,
[54:45] Speaker 2: Now your kingdom must end, for the Lord has sought
[54:50] Speaker 2: out a man after his own heart. The Lord has
[54:53] Speaker 2: already appointed him to be the leader of his nation.
[54:56] Speaker 2: Dang didn't even give me thirty days. I mean, think
[55:02] Speaker 2: about it. My man is like saying you disobey right now.
[55:05] Speaker 3: The Lord has already sought him out.
[55:08] Speaker 2: Got your replacement. But the only reason is not because
[55:12] Speaker 2: you're a bad person.
[55:13] Speaker 3: It's just you didn't obey me. So write this down
[55:16] Speaker 3: so you can know.
[55:18] Speaker 2: Disobedience leads to insecurity costa mic. Why is that important?
[55:22] Speaker 2: Because insecurity leads to comparison. People who are secure don't
[55:28] Speaker 2: compare themselves. I'm not saying that they may have never
[55:34] Speaker 2: done it, but like there are people that walk.
[55:36] Speaker 3: Around like what did they have on? Is what I
[55:38] Speaker 3: got on? How does this look? How do I sound?
[55:40] Speaker 2: How do I die? They're always comparing themselves. But your
[55:46] Speaker 2: genius is you, Yes, your genius is who God created
[55:50] Speaker 2: you to be, even if people aren't accustomed to you.
[55:56] Speaker 3: So we usually.
[55:58] Speaker 2: Factor in our greatness by how people receive us.
[56:04] Speaker 3: I'm good whether you like me or not. Okay, I
[56:09] Speaker 3: know that's hard to.
[56:09] Speaker 2: Receive because I know we live in such a politically
[56:11] Speaker 2: correct thing.
[56:12] Speaker 3: I'm good.
[56:14] Speaker 2: I may not be your cup of tea when it
[56:16] Speaker 2: comes to preaching, but the proof is in the pudding.
[56:21] Speaker 2: If nobody what I was good at what God told
[56:25] Speaker 2: me to my race when I was in youth ministry,
[56:31] Speaker 2: Yes I was long winded. Yes, I'd say some things
[56:35] Speaker 2: that were questionable. Ye yes, no, no, no, let me
[56:40] Speaker 2: be I'm.
[56:42] Speaker 3: Not discounting that I don't have room to grow. But
[56:45] Speaker 3: please the lag like I was good. See, some of
[56:49] Speaker 3: y'all got to get a Holy Spirit confidence.
[56:51] Speaker 2: Back, that unshakable confidence. You understand what cause God called me?
[56:58] Speaker 2: And no, I've never done this before.
[57:01] Speaker 3: No do you know? Well?
[57:02] Speaker 2: Everybody else is that is good for them. And if
[57:07] Speaker 2: I would have judged what God was doing in me
[57:09] Speaker 2: by the response of people many times when the crowd
[57:15] Speaker 2: starts talking, so this comparison, they didn't like it.
[57:21] Speaker 3: So who should I be like if I was trying to.
[57:25] Speaker 2: Be Elevation, if I was trying to be Pasophertic, or
[57:29] Speaker 2: if I was trying to be Joe Oldsteining, or if
[57:31] Speaker 2: I was trying to be Tdjkes, or if I was
[57:32] Speaker 2: trying to be I would.
[57:33] Speaker 3: Be a horrible junior version.
[57:40] Speaker 2: Of all of them. But can't nobody beat me at
[57:46] Speaker 2: being me? You need to believe that right now, man,
[57:50] Speaker 2: somebody say, nobody tim beat me being me?
[57:54] Speaker 3: Come on one more time, nobody tim beat me being me?
[58:00] Speaker 2: So why don't you like you? If God loves you
[58:06] Speaker 2: and likes you. Why don't you if he called you
[58:10] Speaker 2: and chose you with all your flaws, Why do you
[58:12] Speaker 2: hate yourself? If He made you to have life and
[58:17] Speaker 2: life more abundantly, Why do you keep thinking of suicide?
[58:21] Speaker 2: It's because somewhere you started comparing yourself to something that
[58:25] Speaker 2: was not designed by.
[58:26] Speaker 3: The Creator for you.
[58:31] Speaker 2: And today I'm asking the church to put down this
[58:35] Speaker 2: distraction of comparison. Maybe I'm forty and I don't have
[58:40] Speaker 2: what I thought I was gonna have, But why would
[58:44] Speaker 2: I take away the joy I could have in this
[58:46] Speaker 2: season by looking at what I could have that they
[58:51] Speaker 2: have And I don't God, and don't know how I'm
[58:53] Speaker 2: gonna get When my insecurity starts to rise up that
[58:59] Speaker 2: was given to me by all of the distractions that
[59:03] Speaker 2: I believed that, that's when I get into comparison.
[59:06] Speaker 3: Look at this.
[59:08] Speaker 2: Samuel eighteen tells us that all of Saul's generals like David,
[59:16] Speaker 2: his son Jonathan, his family like David, and them ladies
[59:20] Speaker 2: like David. It was too much for Saul to handle
[59:26] Speaker 2: that he was winning in places that were more than
[59:32] Speaker 2: the authority he gave him. He was fine with him
[59:37] Speaker 2: winning on the battlefield, but when he started winning outside
[59:41] Speaker 2: of the place that he told him to win in.
[59:45] Speaker 2: He's like, no, no, not my family, not the generals,
[59:50] Speaker 2: not the other And these are all things watched that
[59:53] Speaker 2: turn people who are supposed to be your allies into
[59:58] Speaker 2: your enemies.
[1:00:00] Speaker 3: Hear what I'm saying.
[1:00:01] Speaker 2: Comparison turns your allies into enemies. He should have been like, great,
[1:00:09] Speaker 2: I made a great decision. They whoa My general was like,
[1:00:14] Speaker 2: I was scared about how my general is gonna accep
[1:00:16] Speaker 2: him because it's a new guy coming to end.
[1:00:17] Speaker 6: And all the other stuff. The general, my fam lossom
[1:00:20] Speaker 6: Jonathan losson. I mean the ladies let him. That's probably
[1:00:23] Speaker 6: good for promotion, Like we could get the word out
[1:00:25] Speaker 6: some more many we turned the song. I mean, he
[1:00:28] Speaker 6: could have spinned the whole thing. But all he saw
[1:00:32] Speaker 6: was watch this.
[1:00:33] Speaker 3: Oh my god. Okay, gotta go back, go thank you.
[1:00:35] Speaker 2: Okay, go back to where verse eight and first Samuel eighteen,
[1:00:41] Speaker 2: verse eight. It said it made him angry when he
[1:00:43] Speaker 2: heard the song. He said, what is this they credit David?
[1:00:51] Speaker 2: Comparison is usually fueled by credit. They credited him, They
[1:00:58] Speaker 2: don't know, but because they credited him with it, I'm
[1:01:03] Speaker 2: gonna start comparing myself, and watch this. Watch the jump
[1:01:07] Speaker 2: from the song to verse nine. Watch the extreme amount
[1:01:13] Speaker 2: of imagination that has to be injected.
[1:01:16] Speaker 3: Watch all of the assumption. He said.
[1:01:20] Speaker 2: They credit David with ten thousand and me with only thousand.
[1:01:24] Speaker 2: Next they'll be making him their king. That's two plus
[1:01:32] Speaker 2: two equaling a million fifty six thousand, seven hundred and
[1:01:35] Speaker 2: twenty eight.
[1:01:38] Speaker 3: How did we take that jump?
[1:01:41] Speaker 2: Comparison will make you jump to conclusions that don't make
[1:01:46] Speaker 2: sense to anybody. All Right, here we go. I told
[1:01:53] Speaker 2: you we're done. Disobedience leads to insecurity. Insecurity leads to comparison.
[1:01:59] Speaker 2: Watch it, and comparison leads to fear. One Samuel eighteen,
[1:02:06] Speaker 2: verse twelve. Saul was afraid of David because the Lord
[1:02:12] Speaker 2: was with David but had departed from Saul. So he
[1:02:19] Speaker 2: sent David away from him and gave him command over
[1:02:23] Speaker 2: a thousand men, and David led the troops in their
[1:02:27] Speaker 2: companions in everything. Watch this he did. He had great
[1:02:32] Speaker 2: success because the Lord was with him. When Saul saw
[1:02:37] Speaker 2: how successful he was, he was afraid of him. When
[1:02:46] Speaker 2: you can't identify the root of your irritation with somebody,
[1:02:49] Speaker 2: it's usually your insecurity. Have you ever met somebody and
[1:02:55] Speaker 2: you can't tell why you don't like him.
[1:02:57] Speaker 3: I don't know. It's just some.
[1:03:02] Speaker 2: A And what happens in this leader's life is this
[1:03:06] Speaker 2: is all it's trying to do. Remember, they were trying
[1:03:08] Speaker 2: to take Samson's vision away. What comparison does is take
[1:03:13] Speaker 2: your vision away. So what happens is you start you
[1:03:17] Speaker 2: start getting just a little insecure about the people that
[1:03:20] Speaker 2: are around you. It doesn't take your vision away completely.
[1:03:27] Speaker 2: They don't take it away completely, but I shoul can't
[1:03:31] Speaker 2: see what's happening over here. When you're disobedient, you lose peripheral.
[1:03:40] Speaker 2: When you're disobedient, you gotta try to keep everything in
[1:03:42] Speaker 2: front of you. You ever been caught in a lie
[1:03:45] Speaker 2: and you forgot what lie you was telling? No, when
[1:03:49] Speaker 2: you're disobedient, you're trying to remember, like hold on, hold on,
[1:03:52] Speaker 2: ah ah, is there anything back there? And this is
[1:03:55] Speaker 2: what disobedience looks like. But what disobedience leads to is insecurity.
[1:04:00] Speaker 2: And when I get a little insecure, my vision is
[1:04:03] Speaker 2: just a little darker. So I can't see over here.
[1:04:08] Speaker 2: But what I could see is no longer clear, it's dim.
[1:04:13] Speaker 2: And what happens when I put on these glasses of comparison.
[1:04:19] Speaker 2: It leads to me walking in fear. And so now
[1:04:22] Speaker 2: I'm comparing. And when I see other people winning, when
[1:04:25] Speaker 2: I see God doing things in other people's wives, I
[1:04:27] Speaker 2: become completely blind to him. Lord, Lord, I can't see anything. Lord,
[1:04:40] Speaker 2: I don't know where the end of the stage is. Oh,
[1:04:45] Speaker 2: there it is, is.
[1:04:48] Speaker 3: The little step thing in front of me?
[1:04:51] Speaker 2: No?
[1:04:53] Speaker 3: Yes? Is it in front of me? Hold on? Wait?
[1:04:57] Speaker 3: Did somebody say I'm here?
[1:04:58] Speaker 4: Yes?
[1:04:59] Speaker 3: It's a no. Who wants to kill me?
[1:05:01] Speaker 2: I'm not telling me?
[1:05:03] Speaker 3: Okay, thank you, thank you, thank you. Okay, all right, cool,
[1:05:07] Speaker 3: don't move, don't move. Hold on. Now, I'm trying to
[1:05:16] Speaker 3: navigate my life off.
[1:05:18] Speaker 2: Of memory, off of past seasons, off of things that
[1:05:23] Speaker 2: I used to.
[1:05:32] Speaker 3: That's a lot more stage than I remember. Okay, there
[1:05:37] Speaker 3: we go.
[1:05:41] Speaker 2: What does it look like when I'm supposed to be
[1:05:43] Speaker 2: at battle fighting other things, finding generational patterns and fighting
[1:05:51] Speaker 2: fighting my own flesh, and fighting through the trauma that
[1:05:56] Speaker 2: I experienced, just living in a sinful world. And I
[1:06:00] Speaker 2: can't even see what God was trying to do through
[1:06:04] Speaker 2: my alliance with something that I turned into a distraction.
[1:06:10] Speaker 2: Right now, people may be getting up to leave. I
[1:06:12] Speaker 2: can't see people are leaving your life that you can't
[1:06:16] Speaker 2: even see. People are coming in that you can't even see.
[1:06:22] Speaker 2: People are aiming for you, and you can't even see it.
[1:06:27] Speaker 2: You can't even see. You went to that new job
[1:06:29] Speaker 2: and thought it was an upgrade, and that thing was
[1:06:31] Speaker 2: made in a decision of blindness.
[1:06:35] Speaker 3: You're in a relationship right now.
[1:06:36] Speaker 2: You can't even see that they do not love you,
[1:06:39] Speaker 2: don't care for you. They're using you at this current moment,
[1:06:42] Speaker 2: and you can't even see. You can't even see that
[1:06:45] Speaker 2: your kids are being distant from you. You can't see
[1:06:49] Speaker 2: that they're being influenced by everything else because you've.
[1:06:51] Speaker 3: Turned the road you're gonna be respectful to me.
[1:06:54] Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, but now you've turned the one conversation that
[1:06:58] Speaker 2: they weren't respectful and they were being a kid into
[1:07:03] Speaker 2: something that actually has now fuelled a feud in between
[1:07:08] Speaker 2: you to where you won't even share with them vulnerably
[1:07:10] Speaker 2: no more. And in the years that they need you most,
[1:07:14] Speaker 2: you have been now focused on that moment of disrespect
[1:07:18] Speaker 2: that you won't let nobody just get out my house.
[1:07:21] Speaker 2: You sent them into a war, and you didn't just
[1:07:26] Speaker 2: because of your pride, and this is your.
[1:07:29] Speaker 3: Kid, this your this is your child. I don't know
[1:07:31] Speaker 3: who I'm pointing at, but I'm pointing at you. This
[1:07:35] Speaker 3: is your seed. That then you're gonna come to church
[1:07:38] Speaker 3: and say, but pray for my child. They're wayward. Hopefully
[1:07:42] Speaker 3: they find God.
[1:07:43] Speaker 2: That they were in a place of growing and they
[1:07:46] Speaker 2: tried to flex.
[1:07:47] Speaker 3: That every person does. But your spiritual maturity and your ability,
[1:07:52] Speaker 3: this is why we got to put away the distractions.
[1:07:55] Speaker 2: Because their their moment of a slip up or a
[1:07:58] Speaker 2: failure or even blakenet disrespect. It triggered you. And now
[1:08:03] Speaker 2: because you're triggered, you're insecure. And now you're starting compare
[1:08:07] Speaker 2: yourself to people who are dead, because now you're saying
[1:08:10] Speaker 2: that you're gonna be a parent that your parents worked,
[1:08:13] Speaker 2: or be a parent like they were, and you start comparing,
[1:08:15] Speaker 2: and that leads to all y'all, I'm just telling you,
[1:08:18] Speaker 2: it's a vicious cycle of the devil that has us
[1:08:23] Speaker 2: all walking around blind.
[1:08:29] Speaker 3: Now I have to be cautious.
[1:08:31] Speaker 2: Where I didn't think I didn't have to think about
[1:08:34] Speaker 2: stepping a moment ago fossor how long are you gonna
[1:08:39] Speaker 2: keep this thing on your head? How long are you
[1:08:47] Speaker 2: going to keep comparison.
[1:08:50] Speaker 3: As a distraction.
[1:08:53] Speaker 2: I've been preaching this series for five weeks and you
[1:08:55] Speaker 2: keep thinking this for somebody else. Somebody about to tune
[1:09:01] Speaker 2: off and go watch another minister because I'm hitting your
[1:09:03] Speaker 2: core and you're comparing it to how you felt last time. Listen,
[1:09:08] Speaker 2: whatever God's speaking to you right now, you better hear it.
[1:09:16] Speaker 3: Now.
[1:09:16] Speaker 2: My glasses all foggy. Now, I still don't have peripheral,
[1:09:24] Speaker 2: but I'm getting better.
[1:09:30] Speaker 3: Now. I have to readjust all I'm saying to a church.
[1:09:40] Speaker 2: It is that we have to set aside this distraction
[1:09:44] Speaker 2: of comparison because it's gonna rob us of allies and
[1:09:49] Speaker 2: make enemies standing all over this place. This is not
[1:10:05] Speaker 2: the moment to leave, because I want to pray for you.
[1:10:14] Speaker 2: I want to pray that the seed of the insecurities
[1:10:20] Speaker 2: will be the thing that the enemy would no longer
[1:10:22] Speaker 2: be able to attack because it starts as insecurities, and
[1:10:28] Speaker 2: then the enemy isolates, and then it infects your heart
[1:10:31] Speaker 2: and then it irritates you. And I just really do
[1:10:38] Speaker 2: believe that Saul's life is a picture for us of
[1:10:43] Speaker 2: how we have to make a decision today to stop
[1:10:48] Speaker 2: comparing ourselves to other moms.
[1:10:51] Speaker 3: You're those kids' mom.
[1:10:54] Speaker 2: God's equipped you with everything you need to raise those children,
[1:10:58] Speaker 2: and he'll give you everything you can.
[1:11:03] Speaker 3: So you stop breastfeeding.
[1:11:04] Speaker 2: But you're watching a mom have seven refrigerators full of
[1:11:09] Speaker 2: stored up breast milk, and that makes you feel bad
[1:11:13] Speaker 2: about your day. I'm trying to use real examples, y'all.
[1:11:18] Speaker 2: Now you don't think that you're doing good, and you
[1:11:20] Speaker 2: don't even have help, and God has blessed you, and
[1:11:23] Speaker 2: somehow you speak in life into those kids and you're
[1:11:26] Speaker 2: dealing with the thing. Stop looking at them. Some of
[1:11:30] Speaker 2: y'all may need to cut off access to people and
[1:11:37] Speaker 2: things that make you feel inferior and flare up your insecurity.
[1:11:45] Speaker 2: I don't know what it is for you, but some
[1:11:48] Speaker 2: of y'all watching football because you almost made it. And
[1:11:51] Speaker 2: if I wouldn't have turned my acl, I would have.
[1:11:53] Speaker 3: Been I would have been at the superball. Now I'm just.
[1:12:00] Speaker 2: And what I'm saying is every time you see that,
[1:12:03] Speaker 2: you see your failure.
[1:12:07] Speaker 3: And now you're comparing yourself to twenty six year olds
[1:12:10] Speaker 3: at forty eight, I mean, you're a delusion. You're delulum
[1:12:14] Speaker 3: for real. You barely can walk down the stairs and
[1:12:16] Speaker 3: you're thinking you're about to go out there and get hit.
[1:12:22] Speaker 2: But I'm saying, like, delusion will make you do that,
[1:12:26] Speaker 2: And you're turning something.
[1:12:27] Speaker 3: Football is nothing, it's not a it's neutral, yeah, but for.
[1:12:32] Speaker 2: You, because of the insecurities, it becomes nuclear. Now you're
[1:12:37] Speaker 2: mad at your wife and mad at your kid. Nothing
[1:12:39] Speaker 2: tastes good. You lost your How did all of that happen?
[1:12:44] Speaker 2: Because I was distracted by something that wasn't supposed to
[1:12:47] Speaker 2: be a distraction.
[1:12:54] Speaker 3: Today, I'm making a fresh commitment.
[1:12:58] Speaker 2: To put all of my distractions for the one the watch.
[1:13:02] Speaker 2: This the only one I should be comparing myself to.
[1:13:09] Speaker 2: Jesus knew we would have a struggle with this comparison thing.
[1:13:14] Speaker 2: Even the disciples that were walking with him, seeing all
[1:13:18] Speaker 2: the miracles they over there like, yo, okay, who's but
[1:13:22] Speaker 2: who's better than?
[1:13:23] Speaker 3: Who's better? Jesus?
[1:13:25] Speaker 2: Like where do I get to sit? Do I get
[1:13:27] Speaker 2: to sit at your right hand in heaven? Like when
[1:13:29] Speaker 2: we get there? Like look at this fool, Like they're
[1:13:31] Speaker 2: literally comparing themselves in the presence.
[1:13:38] Speaker 3: So he knew it was gonna be a problem.
[1:13:39] Speaker 2: So he said this all right, I'm gonna die and
[1:13:42] Speaker 2: I'm gonna but before I die, I'm gonna live, and
[1:13:46] Speaker 2: I'm gonna live perfect, and I'm gonna die knowing none
[1:13:51] Speaker 2: of them can do this.
[1:13:53] Speaker 3: So the only.
[1:13:54] Speaker 2: Person they should be comparing themselves to is me. Everybody
[1:14:02] Speaker 2: on this earth is not worth being compared to, he said,
[1:14:08] Speaker 2: unless they have ascended and sit at the right hand
[1:14:12] Speaker 2: of the Father.
[1:14:13] Speaker 3: All you need to do is fix your focus on
[1:14:17] Speaker 3: the one and only change.
[1:14:18] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[1:14:25] Speaker 2: So, yes they're beautiful, but they're not you. Yes they're
[1:14:30] Speaker 2: great at that sport, but they're not you. When you
[1:14:38] Speaker 2: become secure and who God's made you to be, watch this,
[1:14:41] Speaker 2: you can celebrate who God's made them to be.
[1:14:47] Speaker 3: Do y'all hear what I'm saying.
[1:14:50] Speaker 2: We got to celebrate what God's doing in other's way more.
[1:14:55] Speaker 3: But it's very hard to do that when you can't
[1:14:59] Speaker 3: see God hand on your own life. Today, I want
[1:15:03] Speaker 3: to pray for everybody who struggles in this area. I'm
[1:15:08] Speaker 3: the first one.
[1:15:10] Speaker 2: I can't tell you how many times the enemy tries
[1:15:12] Speaker 2: to wear me out with comparison. And when I read this,
[1:15:17] Speaker 2: when I got the revelation of this, I had to
[1:15:19] Speaker 2: come and lay my watch this. My excuses I made
[1:15:25] Speaker 2: for myself at the altar because I thought everybody comparison
[1:15:31] Speaker 2: themselves it's fine, and God said, you don't have to.
[1:15:36] Speaker 2: And today I'm telling you you don't have to. I
[1:15:41] Speaker 2: feel the presence of God.
[1:15:42] Speaker 3: You can stop comparing yourself to them, to it, to
[1:15:47] Speaker 3: a money number, to an apartment, to a home.
[1:15:52] Speaker 2: Stop because it's robbing you of victories that you could
[1:15:58] Speaker 2: be winning.
[1:15:58] Speaker 3: Right now. If that's you all over this place, would.
[1:16:00] Speaker 2: You with your hands if you want God to take
[1:16:04] Speaker 2: comparison and put it in its rightful place. Yeah, today, Father,
[1:16:10] Speaker 2: we're saying we're ready for change.
[1:16:12] Speaker 3: Come on online right now.
[1:16:14] Speaker 2: As you're sitting there pastor road, just seeing that just
[1:16:17] Speaker 2: one time for me received from God.
[1:16:19] Speaker 3: You love finds me when I.
[1:16:25] Speaker 5: No man, Hello, no mountains and done noting a. I
[1:16:34] Speaker 5: wanna be autant here ethy A. Oh no girl, no shame,
[1:16:44] Speaker 5: I lay down, prize God do a new thing leaving
[1:16:50] Speaker 5: in side.
[1:16:52] Speaker 3: I'm ready for change.
[1:16:56] Speaker 5: I wanna be autant here ethy too.
[1:17:01] Speaker 3: Father. Here we are.
[1:17:04] Speaker 2: We're bringing the distraction of comparison to the altar today
[1:17:08] Speaker 2: and we are sacrificing it before you. Father, got all
[1:17:13] Speaker 2: the things that we've picked up along the way from childhood,
[1:17:17] Speaker 2: from school, from sports, from television, from teachers and coaches
[1:17:25] Speaker 2: and bosses.
[1:17:26] Speaker 3: And from our own filter the lies we believed.
[1:17:32] Speaker 2: God, help us see ourselves like you see us, a
[1:17:35] Speaker 2: masterpiece made.
[1:17:38] Speaker 3: In your image. Father.
[1:17:41] Speaker 2: Yeah we have flaws, and yeah we have things that
[1:17:43] Speaker 2: we are working on. But God, you do not see
[1:17:45] Speaker 2: us through the lens of our working version. You see
[1:17:48] Speaker 2: us through the lens of what you've already made us
[1:17:51] Speaker 2: to be. Today, Father God, we are asking that you
[1:17:56] Speaker 2: would help us stop being a addicted to comparison.
[1:18:03] Speaker 3: Today.
[1:18:04] Speaker 2: Let our celebration for others go up as we become
[1:18:08] Speaker 2: okay with being in community and connection with those Father God,
[1:18:13] Speaker 2: who are great at things we are not, who have
[1:18:17] Speaker 2: different giftings and callings and and and and temperaments and
[1:18:21] Speaker 2: spiritual discernment. Father, let us let us be intrigued, Father God,
[1:18:27] Speaker 2: not isolated from.
[1:18:28] Speaker 3: Our brothers and sisters. I thank you that your word
[1:18:32] Speaker 3: says two are better than one. Father. Where there's unity,
[1:18:35] Speaker 3: there's a commanded blessing. Change our leans.
[1:18:38] Speaker 2: To see things the way you do, Father God, and
[1:18:42] Speaker 2: that means you're gonna have to heal some places in us.
[1:18:44] Speaker 3: That are fractured.
[1:18:47] Speaker 2: Our faith that has been fractured, our focus that has
[1:18:51] Speaker 2: been fractured. Today, God, I'm bringing everything to this altar.
[1:19:01] Speaker 2: Let me see you in a brand new way.
[1:19:02] Speaker 3: God.
[1:19:06] Speaker 2: I thank you, Father God, that fear will no longer
[1:19:10] Speaker 2: lead my life. The fear of somebody else's success, the
[1:19:14] Speaker 2: fear of somebody else getting the job, the fear of
[1:19:17] Speaker 2: somebody else being liked, the fear of somebody else, Father
[1:19:20] Speaker 2: God getting the promotion. Father, let fear no longer lead
[1:19:23] Speaker 2: my life. Today I declare I'm a person of faith.
[1:19:29] Speaker 2: I am a person of faith. What is for me
[1:19:32] Speaker 2: and my family and my generation and my line, I
[1:19:35] Speaker 2: will not forfeit it because of disobedience. Today, God, I
[1:19:40] Speaker 2: squarely put my faith back in you. I'm ready for
[1:19:43] Speaker 2: change and today, God, i want to be altered here, at.
[1:19:48] Speaker 5: This alter else, I'm ready put you.

[1:21:04] Speaker 2: If you want to make Jesus Christ your personal Lord
[1:21:06] Speaker 2: and savior, we're out of here in three minutes, y'all. Today,
[1:21:11] Speaker 2: I have no greater joy than to offer you a
[1:21:15] Speaker 2: way out of comparison. For the rest of your life.
[1:21:20] Speaker 2: You'll only have to be trying to be like our Father,
[1:21:23] Speaker 2: and he'll help you do it. He's the only one
[1:21:26] Speaker 2: that can help you change your habits once you give
[1:21:28] Speaker 2: him your heart. There's no judgment here because I am
[1:21:33] Speaker 2: as trash as your worst day in my flesh. But
[1:21:38] Speaker 2: all I keep doing is stepping into that iron man
[1:21:41] Speaker 2: suit and saying, God, leave me, guide me.
[1:21:45] Speaker 3: And you have the opportunity to do that today.
[1:21:47] Speaker 2: The Bible says, any man that be in Christ, he
[1:21:49] Speaker 2: is a brand new creation. The old has passed away. Behold,
[1:21:54] Speaker 2: I have made all things new. Today is your day
[1:21:57] Speaker 2: of salvation. On the count of three. Whether you are
[1:21:59] Speaker 2: in this room, all over the balconies in the middle,
[1:22:02] Speaker 2: or you are online, today is the day of salvation.
[1:22:05] Speaker 2: The Church is praying right now because they know how
[1:22:08] Speaker 2: monumental this moment is for you. I feel the presence
[1:22:11] Speaker 2: of God. Today is a day of transformation for you.
[1:22:14] Speaker 2: If you want to receive Jesus, I just want you
[1:22:16] Speaker 2: to slip.
[1:22:16] Speaker 3: Your hand in the air. One.
[1:22:18] Speaker 2: You are making the greatest decision of your life.
[1:22:20] Speaker 3: Two.
[1:22:20] Speaker 2: I am proud of you. But more than that, your
[1:22:22] Speaker 2: name is about to be written in the Lamb's Book
[1:22:24] Speaker 2: of Life. Three shoots your hand up all over this place.
[1:22:28] Speaker 2: I see you right there in the back.
[1:22:29] Speaker 3: I see you. I see you. Come on, I see
[1:22:32] Speaker 3: you all the way up there. Oh, Transformation Church, I
[1:22:34] Speaker 3: see you. And more than I see you, God sees you.
[1:22:37] Speaker 3: We believe that this is a day of change for
[1:22:40] Speaker 3: you at TC.

[1:22:55] Speaker 2: and say God, thank you for sending Jesus to be
[1:23:01] Speaker 2: my example, to be my savior, and to.
[1:23:05] Speaker 3: Be my Lord. Today I give you my life. Change me,
[1:23:12] Speaker 3: change me, change me. I believe you lived and you
[1:23:18] Speaker 3: die so that I could walk in victory.
[1:23:22] Speaker 2: I'm yours forever in Jesus' name. Amen, Hey, can we
[1:23:28] Speaker 2: turn up all over this place for the all?
[1:23:30] Speaker 3: Y'all can do better than that. Let's thank God for
[1:23:33] Speaker 3: all that he's doing.
[1:23:37] Speaker 2: Hey, listen, if you just made that decision, we have

[1:27:08] Speaker 2: the Spirit of God is trying to do something brand new,
[1:27:12] Speaker 2: and what that starts with is us giving him our distraction.
[1:27:16] Speaker 2: And today I'm just so proud of so many of
[1:27:18] Speaker 2: you that we are seeing in the comments in the
[1:27:21] Speaker 2: chat that have decided to give the distraction of comparison
[1:27:26] Speaker 2: to our King, And for everybody who just decided that
[1:27:30] Speaker 2: I'm going to actually not just celebrate a moment of
[1:27:33] Speaker 2: giving my distraction away, I'm gonna give God my whole life.
