[1:41] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'm your host, Greg Solvander.
[1:43] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Today's Floor Plan, we're bringing to you another episode of the life or series.
[1:47] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Today, joining me is a familiar voice, somebody who used to host a,
[1:54] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Certain post games show y'all might know.
[1:58] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, that is none other than Royal Shepherd joins me today.
[2:02] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We are going to talk, mine he basketball, but in a unique format.
[2:06] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Royal is going to tell you his story as a heat lifeer, the good, the bad, the ugly, the Tyler Hero, and we're just going to chop it up in terms of not just his story, but
[2:18] \[SPEAKER_01\]: What keeps him around and also how he's feeling about this upcoming season before we do that though, and I'm going to pass the mic to Royale, I promise you all
[2:27] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You know, I'm shouting out off the floor.
[2:29] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That's our discord server, 299 a month.
[2:31] \[SPEAKER_01\]: The link is in the description of this episode.
[2:33] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You can log onto your desktop.
[2:35] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That's where you will bypass that Apple upcharge that makes it 399.
[2:39] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So do that 299 a month.
[2:42] \[SPEAKER_01\]: The link is in the description, like I said, you can consolidate everywhere you talk.
[2:46] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Mind me, he basketball.
[2:47] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You read mind me, he basketball.
[2:48] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You're checking people's reports for mind me.
[2:51] \[SPEAKER_01\]: He basketball.
[2:52] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You can do it all on off the floor.
[2:54] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Soon I need another month.
[2:55] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'm running out of breath.
[2:56] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'm so excited about it.
[2:58] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Check it out.
[2:58] \[SPEAKER_01\]: The link is in the description.
[3:01] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Okay.
[3:03] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's good to have you back on the program, Royale.
[3:05] \[SPEAKER_01\]: How the hell are you, man?
[3:07] \[SPEAKER_04\]: I'm doing well, man, it's good to be back.
[3:09] \[SPEAKER_04\]: I always love to get an opportunity to chop it up with you guys my first home, you know what I'm saying?
[3:14] \[SPEAKER_04\]: So it's like coming home of sorts.
[3:16] \[SPEAKER_04\]: But yeah, love what you guys adore here.
[3:19] \[SPEAKER_04\]: That's why I wanted to reach out and just try to be a part of this.
[3:21] \[SPEAKER_04\]: I thought this is super dope.
[3:23] \[SPEAKER_04\]: And I think it'll make for interesting content for people who don't think that I'm really a heat fan.
[3:28] \[SPEAKER_04\]: It hear me talk about it from this perspective.
[3:32] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'm glad that you're actually going there head on in terms of like the perception that people have of you because I think that there are some heat fans that just based off of the last few years and some of the critique that some earned, some of it maybe jokes, but regardless,
[3:52] \[SPEAKER_01\]: They maybe have it a little twisted in terms of like your alliance to the or you know alliance to the I won't say organization, but maybe just some of the best moments in heat history you've definitely been a part of cheered for those kinds of things I know you don't always see eye to eye with everything that happens.
[4:13] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But none of us necessarily do.
[4:15] \[SPEAKER_01\]: How the hell did it start though?
[4:16] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like, take me back to the first heat game you saw.
[4:20] \[SPEAKER_01\]: What's your first heat memory?
[4:21] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like, how far back are we going?
[4:24] \[SPEAKER_04\]: So I've been a heat fan since I started liking basketball.
[4:29] \[SPEAKER_04\]: I don't like any other teams.
[4:31] \[SPEAKER_04\]: I don't have a second favorite team.
[4:33] \[SPEAKER_04\]: I only like to buy an eat.
[4:36] \[SPEAKER_04\]: But I'm from South Florida.
[4:37] \[SPEAKER_04\]: So I'm from Papua no Beach Florida.
[4:39] \[SPEAKER_04\]: And that's kind of, I guess that'll be akin to most people's story, whereas that's the hometown team.
[4:44] \[SPEAKER_04\]: But my brother was actually the basketball fan and not family.
[4:47] \[SPEAKER_04\]: And he's a fan of the Chicago Bulls.
[4:50] \[SPEAKER_04\]: So you know, he would make us watch
[4:55] \[SPEAKER_04\]: But when the fandom kind of really sunk in, was probably the Rex Chapman game, um, them scoring 39 against the bulls, like that, to me, like it gave me bragging rights with my younger brother for a little while.
[5:08] \[SPEAKER_04\]: And I just kind of love Beatma Chosen, never said that they kind of had me in a choke hole, like,
[5:12] \[SPEAKER_04\]: I've been here from the start, just a lot like Harry, like I'm a month older to Harry.
[5:20] \[SPEAKER_04\]: So the team started, yeah, the team started the same year that I was born, they won their championship, the first year that I when I was graduating high school and I had my daughter.
[5:32] \[SPEAKER_04\]: And also,
[5:34] \[SPEAKER_04\]: uh, do a way in our shared birthday.
[5:37] \[SPEAKER_04\]: So I just kind of like, when you talking about how this thing is all constantly aligned, like, that's just kind of how I feel between me and the org.
[5:45] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That is super dope to hear.
[5:47] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's actually crazy to think about like as you're growing up, you start to hear about the team, 97 ish or something like, you know, as you're kind of, I guess the Reds' Chapman game was 95, probably.
[6:00] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So what the hell am I saying?
[6:02] \[SPEAKER_04\]: So I was like,
[6:05] \[SPEAKER_04\]: It's eight, no seven, seven, eight years old around the time.
[6:09] \[SPEAKER_04\]: That's great.
[6:10] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That's like exactly kind of like the same time that I found the heat.
[6:13] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'm just older than your ass, but it's crazy how like that one moment, whether it's, you know, hero minor in a dunk contest or it's Glenn Rice is 56 points against Orlando.
[6:24] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That's like pre-rily stuff.
[6:26] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So then, you know, you talk about all the moments down to Wade.
[6:33] \[SPEAKER_01\]: There are a lot of heat fans that for the majority of their experiences with the team, they've been a relatively successful organization.
[6:43] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I guess relatively speaking, if you look around the teams and you count on many championships just since you've...
[6:50] \[SPEAKER_01\]: been plugged into the game, it shows, I guess, a different perspective because they're like, Lane came on, Lane, MintNet is a heat, I'd say he's a heat Twitter OG, although he ain't on Twitter no more.
[7:06] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And, you know, he tells stories of like going to opening night and seeing stuff like that and it's just, it's interesting to see the different trajectory with each person.
[7:15] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Um, but why do why do some people think that you are a heat hater if I could say that like I think that's a little harsh I don't know that anyone actually believes that you hate the heat outright
[7:29] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But there are some things that you haven't been defined up recently, and we're going to talk about those, too.
[7:34] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Yeah.
[7:36] \[SPEAKER_04\]: So I think the thing that I'm a heat-hater because in some respects, I have been.
[7:41] \[SPEAKER_04\]: It's not, I don't think it's harsh.
[7:44] \[SPEAKER_04\]: That's an earned title.
[7:46] \[SPEAKER_04\]: You know, I mean, because when I don't like the way the organization is moving, I have no problem vocalizing that on every platform and maybe some people would prefer that I did it in a more,
[7:58] \[SPEAKER_04\]: measured weight, but that's not how a fandom works, like I'm a person of extremes when they make me feel good, I tell everybody we're winning the title.
[8:10] \[SPEAKER_04\]: When they don't make me feel good, blow the team up, but that's just the way that I operate.
[8:17] \[SPEAKER_04\]: And so when I'm in either side of that mode, I can't be convinced otherwise.
[8:20] \[SPEAKER_04\]: I think one of the things is like there's like a kind of switch
[8:27] \[SPEAKER_04\]: I used to tell people all this, I said, come, come way, that every heat roster that they pulled out was going to win a championship.
[8:34] \[SPEAKER_04\]: I told you that Mario Thomas and the next Rajan Rondo, like, these are things that I believe and said I'm out, but I think people call me a heater because recently, I guess, I don't really know kind of like win the turn, actually half it, but, uh-huh.
[8:49] \[SPEAKER_04\]: But yeah, like during that era like when I was not pleased with the organization I'd go on tie rates for hours and days and weeks and months and just kind of antagonize fan the organization players didn't really matter.
[9:03] \[SPEAKER_04\]: It's just like I'll squash Earth.
[9:05] \[SPEAKER_04\]: It's just I was going to be if you're not making me happy.
[9:09] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You had some conversations with somebody over the summer.
[9:12] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Didn't you, didn't you, didn't you?
[9:13] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Was it North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North, North
[9:29] \[SPEAKER_01\]: necessarily just pump you up and build your ego now, but you do really well at like being emotional and being a fan, but being able to articulate yourself at the same time.
[9:40] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And that's like I think like a balance that is important because when people get upset with what you say, it's usually because you're striking a nerve and there's something there.
[9:52] \[SPEAKER_01\]: a player in particular that I think I can say confidently drove you up the walls a little bit and we're going to get back to the fun stuff about the heat, but we're just we're clearing up matters here.
[10:04] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Your boy 14, he's gone now.
[10:07] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You see his name, anyone who's audio-only, I apologize, Royale is with me here on YouTube and his name is not Royale if you're watching.
[10:15] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's retired
[10:21] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Let's hone in on Tyler just for a couple of minutes.
[10:24] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I know people are gonna say, he's gone, why are we talking about him?
[10:27] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But I just, we owe everyone an explanation.
[10:30] \[SPEAKER_01\]: If you're watching in video only, you're like, who is this guy?
[10:33] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And why is he a Tyler here?
[10:35] \[SPEAKER_01\]: What's up with that?
[10:36] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Tell me about your relationship with the Tyler hero, basketball experience and anything else that may bother you about the way Tyler hero goes about his day to day.
[10:48] \[SPEAKER_04\]: And yeah, so, I think there is, it's confusion surrounded by Tyler European in terms of people think that I actually believe other girls are bad basketball players.
[11:01] \[SPEAKER_04\]: I don't, I don't think he's a bad basketball player.
[11:04] \[SPEAKER_04\]: I think he's bad defensively.
[11:06] \[SPEAKER_04\]: And I thought from the beginning that he was a bad Miami heat player,
[11:18] \[SPEAKER_04\]: the bulk of my frustration come from.
[11:20] \[SPEAKER_04\]: I'll figure out to me represented a departure from the heat player, like model that we had smooth up until the point that he entered this roster.
[11:29] \[SPEAKER_04\]: I went from the time I started fandom of a time he gave me at the type of player that my enemy, the mine he invested in, were,
[11:38] \[SPEAKER_04\]: art knows defensive mind that players, you know, and they may have had a, yeah, you know, to me, like get it out of the mud, it's like players and they, and that's just not the style of basketball that he plays.
[11:49] \[SPEAKER_04\]: And so it, it irritated me that the organization invested so much time.
[11:55] \[SPEAKER_04\]: and so many assets into a player who did not at any point in his career look or represent what I have believed or had really talked to believe was a Miami heat player.
[12:07] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Everybody can identify Miami heat player.
[12:09] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Joe Anchorage is a Miami heat player.
[12:12] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Like you know what I mean?
[12:14] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Lafazo Ellis.
[12:15] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Like these type of players are Miami heat players and Tali Hero is not that.
[12:21] \[SPEAKER_04\]: So when people try and convince me that Tali Hero is something that he is not
[12:28] \[SPEAKER_04\]: I'm not going to go with it.
[12:30] \[SPEAKER_04\]: And then there were came like the Tyler vs. Bamb Wars where there's like, how can you not see Bamb as the embodiment of what a Miami heat player is and yet you want to prop up Tyler Hero.
[12:41] \[SPEAKER_04\]: And you know, like, look, I said it before like, people will not hear me talk about Tyler Hero.
[12:48] \[SPEAKER_04\]: because just like I tell a norm, I follow Miami heat news.
[12:52] \[SPEAKER_04\]: I don't follow norm power news and I don't follow Tyler Hero News.
[12:55] \[SPEAKER_04\]: If Tyler Hero is not actively destroying my franchise, which he has done for the better part of his eight-year career, then I will not be talking about him.
[13:03] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Like I don't care what he does.
[13:05] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I don't.
[13:07] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'm with you there because it's nothing personal
[13:13] \[SPEAKER_01\]: by the same token when you talk about what a Miami player looks like and I've always screamed that like I there was a long time where I got to say tell me what a Denver nuggets player looks like but now like they point to joke and I got to shut up actually this is a really good moment for me to shout out price picks I'm gonna give you the craziest
[13:35] \[SPEAKER_01\]: uh, season, uh, play that you can make on price picks before I do though, and it's related to the Denver Nuggets watch this.
[13:43] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You got to use the code HMA if you're playing price picks.
[13:46] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That's where you're going to play your first five dollars.
[13:49] \[SPEAKER_01\]: If you win, you get $150 in free lineups.
[13:52] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And I'm going to give you the play you can start with.
[13:54] \[SPEAKER_01\]: This is the craziest
[14:01] \[SPEAKER_01\]: This is his more or less where they're setting the bar for his triple doubles this year.
[14:06] \[SPEAKER_01\]: 31 and a half, who gets, who's average?
[14:11] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like, I'm gonna say more, because he had 34 triple doubles in both of the last two regular seasons.
[14:18] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That isn't saying I'm saying that out loud.
[14:20] \[SPEAKER_01\]: 31.5, I would say more triple doubles.
[14:24] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You're gonna more or less on Joker triple doubles next year.
[14:27] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Yeah, I'm not a lot of feels like people are trying to give away money.
[14:29] \[SPEAKER_04\]: That's an easy morphing me.
[14:31] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Like I've been like, he is, he can play a one man offense.
[14:37] \[SPEAKER_04\]: He is one of the most scientific players this league has ever seen.
[14:41] \[SPEAKER_04\]: And he has an uncanny ability to be able to impact the game in all of those levels.
[14:45] \[SPEAKER_04\]: So like,
[14:47] \[SPEAKER_01\]: 30 more feels like an easy more bro like I would the end this is and I'm I'm gonna stop with the demo nuggets talk here You good momentsarily, but I just can't believe I'm saying out loud that like the The number of triple doubles is 30 like if he they're saying like he's gonna get 32 triple doubles That just blows my mind Anyway, that's why I can't say
[15:10] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Show me what a Denver Nuggets player looks like.
[15:12] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But for a long time, I could say that because in contrast, everyone knew exactly what a Miami heat player looked like.
[15:18] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It was that hard nose you don't as hazelnuts, the PJ Browns, the Zos, Dwayne, had that in him as well.
[15:25] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You know what I'm saying?
[15:26] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Right.
[15:27] \[SPEAKER_01\]: There's just an element of that that that we get it.
[15:30] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And
[15:32] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So Tyler here else gone.
[15:34] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Norm is gone.
[15:35] \[SPEAKER_04\]: We're going to forget about those guys real quick though before we forget though and and here's like another piece of that kind of like what you were telling me so most his fans were absolutely annoying.
[15:51] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Like
[15:52] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Oh, there's a couple that are just downright crazy, but that's for another.
[15:56] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Yeah, I think, and where I come from is like, you know, the name calling that comes with like me talking about Tyler, I've been called racist, I was like, I'm advocating for Dunkin Robison to start over Tyler Euro, I don't know if you've noticed, but Dunkin is way wider than Tyler Euro is.
[16:14] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Well, yeah.
[16:15] \[SPEAKER_04\]: I'm not done yet.
[16:17] \[SPEAKER_04\]: I will prefer Dr. Robbs and him, but it's just like his fans are super crazy, bro, and that kind of
[16:26] \[SPEAKER_04\]: rub me the wrong way too which and so it was a lot of time me going back and forth with them and not so much me re talking about him but you know best of luck to him for the rest of the career.
[16:36] \[SPEAKER_04\]: I will not be having much to say when it comes to what he's doing but yeah man it was it was nice to kind of get an opportunity to become one Twitter's biggest villains using that and now I just pivot to somebody else probably average.
[16:53] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, I mean, that's the easy.
[16:55] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Easy pick there for you.
[16:56] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Um, I'm with you though that like
[17:01] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Tyler definitely wasn't the prototypical heat player, even like the injury stuff and pushing through at certain moments like Bam would play her.
[17:10] \[SPEAKER_01\]: They got a basically like hold him down from playing in games, and Tyler was the opposite in a lot of ways.
[17:19] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So I can identify with why that frustrated you.
[17:22] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And now they're gonna get mixed up.
[17:23] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And this is where I'm going through, yeah.
[17:26] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Because they have a team now, Royal, that to me,
[17:30] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'm trying to think.
[17:32] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's about as Miami heat a group as we've had in a minute, and maybe I'm getting ahead of myself because you got to see it all on the court, but just like the mentality, the work, you know, Harry, Hot Take Harry, who was on the show a while back.
[17:48] \[SPEAKER_01\]: he rolled his eyes at Davey on's workouts all summer, but I actually like to see Davey on wearing his jersey and going around playing basketball everywhere like to me, I think he's had a really fun summer to watch and I think he's going to have a great contract year, but Yannis isn't town.
[18:03] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That changes everything.
[18:04] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Tyler's out, color wears out, which y'all know how I felt about that.
[18:09] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Bobby Portis is in, that's how you feel about his efficiency.
[18:14] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Although
[18:17] \[SPEAKER_01\]: is one thing is defense is one thing, but he's hard-nosed.
[18:20] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So how do you feel about this team?
[18:22] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like do you think that this is a group that you would say is a Miami heat team or are they still a summer away from building that?
[18:29] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like how are you feeling about this group?
[18:32] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Cause now we don't have to talk about Tyler here I'll ever again.
[18:36] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Yeah, this is 100% of my and the heat team right now.
[18:39] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Now, do I think that like they're still like a summer away from making this an actual type of content?
[18:44] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Yeah, I do, but like that doesn't mean that I'm not going into every game confident that this team will have an identity when they step on the floor.
[18:52] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Like defensive minded.
[18:55] \[SPEAKER_04\]: they're going to, their office will be clunky, their office will have its moments where it's high to low.
[19:00] \[SPEAKER_04\]: I don't care about that because we're going to be a top 3 defense team in basketball easily.
[19:05] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Like it's not even a question.
[19:07] \[SPEAKER_04\]: And to the point, like
[19:10] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Yes, play Thompson may not be, you know, the defensive presence that he once was, but to me, I know he works hard and I know that he's a hard-nosed player because of who he's been glad to course in his career.
[19:22] \[SPEAKER_04\]: He may not be, you know, super defensive, but he's a Miami heat player by the portest.
[19:27] \[SPEAKER_04\]: May not be the greatest defender, but that's a Miami heat player just because the attitude and cockiness that he wears on his sleeve when he plays basketball.
[19:35] \[SPEAKER_04\]: I'm, I said,
[19:40] \[SPEAKER_04\]: You get Tyler here right here.
[19:42] \[SPEAKER_04\]: He gets bitch left my band.
[19:44] \[SPEAKER_04\]: We get ya, and it's like Top three all the time like I'll see them for me and I'm having a hard time not putting it at two Right, I just I'm sorry.
[19:57] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That's crazy to say.
[19:58] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I mean you're talking about
[20:01] \[SPEAKER_04\]: I'm sorry if I'm wrong.
[20:03] \[SPEAKER_04\]: That's who Broadway boss one, obviously.
[20:06] \[SPEAKER_04\]: And then I have this in check kind of in my second spot.
[20:13] \[SPEAKER_04\]: That's crazy.
[20:16] \[SPEAKER_04\]: I don't know which one that I would because like, check was being.
[20:20] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Why do they want to championship?
[20:23] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, like I guess I struggled to go there.
[20:31] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I get kind of speechless that you're going there already.
[20:36] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Cause like, I want to go there.
[20:38] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But like, yeah, it's like they haven't got the ring yet.
[20:40] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And so there's always a part of it that I'm like, can I say that it's that big of an acquisition, but you're convincing me that it is.
[20:47] \[SPEAKER_04\]: So, let me help drive the nail home.
[20:51] \[SPEAKER_04\]: So, the reason that it's the top, you all seem like what happens after this does not matter?
[20:56] \[SPEAKER_04\]: like in terms of like while I'm breaking it this high.
[20:59] \[SPEAKER_04\]: It is because of the cleansing process that has happened over the course of this, like the Jimmy Arrow was one thing, you know what I mean?
[21:07] \[SPEAKER_04\]: But the expectations weren't nearly set aside because Jimmy is not saying caliber of players, giants.
[21:11] \[SPEAKER_04\]: And so, but so even though you had a DreamHives with Jimmy, that offseason wasn't as exciting as this one is because not only did you add one of the top three four talents in basketball, but you also like it just kind of felt like it brushed away the remnants of whatever was left of the Jimmy error and all the bad vibes that was still here and all the bad habits that had been built in just kind of like
[21:35] \[SPEAKER_04\]: It just feels like a new team that we're getting to watch, which is then my right with the front office for so long because even though the players have been different here and there, it still had the same kind of vibe with.
[21:46] \[SPEAKER_04\]: You know what I mean like, and this is just this, this is just something completely different, which is why I've kind of like, I'm, I'm back, baby.
[21:54] \[SPEAKER_04\]: I'm, I'm sunshine pumping most of the season until somebody pisses me off.
[21:58] \[SPEAKER_04\]: And because of the audience with you, I refuse to argue anybody who doesn't know who Vladimir's the pioneer is.
[22:03] \[SPEAKER_04\]: That's how I feel.
[22:04] \[SPEAKER_04\]: We go like, like, if you can't tell me who Vladimir's the pioneer is, do not argue at me about heat basketball this year.
[22:10] \[SPEAKER_04\]: That was a rough season.
[22:11] \[SPEAKER_04\]: You made it through that one, huh?
[22:14] \[SPEAKER_04\]: So this is another thing that people like I do post gay shows now, and I think I've been doing them since 2020, which you guys.
[22:21] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Yeah.
[22:21] \[SPEAKER_04\]: And you know, that requires, you know, you watch the games, and especially when you're hosting them, like they're why they're doing what they need.
[22:27] \[SPEAKER_04\]: And you watch all 82.
[22:29] \[SPEAKER_04\]: And people think that I started doing that when I started at five reasons.
[22:33] \[SPEAKER_04\]: I had been doing that for my whole life.
[22:35] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I've been doing it for 10 years before I
[22:42] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Then come on man, like I just said he legally streamed basketball games to my computers and laptops to watch heat games that were not on TV.
[22:51] \[SPEAKER_04\]: I remember some sports network with all the heat games came on like yeah, this is where my Miami heat experience started like versus now where I can just get me bad.
[23:02] \[SPEAKER_04\]: I don't think we pass with a thing back then.
[23:03] \[SPEAKER_04\]: It's true.
[23:05] \[SPEAKER_04\]: But you know what I mean,
[23:09] \[SPEAKER_04\]: And so like that, that to me, like, helps me contextualize my takes and everything like that.
[23:16] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Real quick on the title hero thing one more time.
[23:17] \[SPEAKER_04\]: I don't know why I keep going back to this, but I realize when I'm arguing people that Tyler hero may be the greatest score that some of the fans that I'm arguing with have seen in the Miami Heat draft.
[23:30] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Yeah, I mean, so who's the greatest score prior to Tyler hero being drafted?
[23:35] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Probably wait.
[23:36] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Of course.
[23:36] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Yeah, doing right.
[23:38] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So I mean, and most truthfully like I could be a you know what and just say it's Bam because he's second in point.
[23:45] \[SPEAKER_04\]: No, it's like yeah, no, and even over the years where but there were a lot of Tyler's score.
[23:50] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Yeah, Greg, I ain't gonna hold you.
[23:52] \[SPEAKER_04\]: I don't know nobody can ever take that name away from him because I'm still there.
[23:57] \[SPEAKER_04\]: I think Van is going to break through the perceived stealing this year because I don't know why people are talking about his shooting like it's a negative, but it's like that was the first shit that he shot three quarters.
[24:07] \[SPEAKER_04\]: It's like out of consistent and hot like, and he's only going to get better with it.
[24:11] \[SPEAKER_04\]: But either way, like, yeah, I realize that some people like Tyler here may be the greatest score that they've seen him driving.
[24:18] \[SPEAKER_04\]: That's why he's so beloved amongst the like the fan base.
[24:21] \[SPEAKER_04\]: But I saw a way.
[24:22] \[SPEAKER_04\]: So like, I don't care.
[24:23] \[SPEAKER_04\]: He didn't
[24:27] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I have to at least be culpable enough to say that I did tweet out like the Steph leap and I should have never done that like that was a really bad move on my part so I could come clean and say that like now it you know let bygons be bygons and we say it's a Tyler Hero by gone.
[24:46] \[SPEAKER_01\]: As we wrap here, and again, use that code HMA.
[24:49] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That'll get you that 150 if you win your first $5 play on prize picks and use the, I mean, do the season play with Joker, 31 and a half tripled doubles.
[24:59] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Go more, give me your lowest moment as a heat fan and your highest moment, we're gonna go highs and lows as we close.
[25:11] \[SPEAKER_04\]: The lowest moment is tough because I was pretty low
[25:15] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Well, like, three years in a row that we lost to the next in the playoffs, like, oh my God, bro, like, that was that hurt because like, it felt like we had the better team every time.
[25:29] \[SPEAKER_04\]: And we just kept losing to them.
[25:31] \[SPEAKER_04\]: So that was pretty low.
[25:32] \[SPEAKER_04\]: I think that first finals with LeBron was another low.
[25:39] \[SPEAKER_04\]: because I was super arrogant.
[25:41] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Me too.
[25:42] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That was just, yeah, my ego hurt.
[25:45] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That seemed like it'll hide for like three weeks, man.
[25:49] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I was like apologizing to my friends that I was screaming at him all the time here, but you know, I think you're in their face telling him we don't win and then it didn't happen.
[25:57] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Oh, it was awful.
[25:59] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Um, it was tough.
[26:02] \[SPEAKER_04\]: And I think the final load that I do is like, the bubble championship?
[26:10] \[SPEAKER_04\]: it hurt like because I knew that we weren't the better team but we weren't the better team in any other series that we were planned before that and we just found ways to win and it felt like destiny that we were going to find a way to win that, taking the NBA away from us for five months and then you give it back in us like everybody's tool then.
[26:31] \[SPEAKER_04\]: It's all you had and then my team is the one out here stomping people in their fucking face, like sorry, I don't know if I'm supposed to say fucking, but you know what I was going to say anyway, but like the
[26:56] \[SPEAKER_04\]: 06 winning the championship the first one definitely goes my my my my my much rush more Yeah, let's do that because that gives you four of them.
[27:08] \[SPEAKER_04\]: So yeah, how many people they got up there.
[27:11] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Yeah, I think the 06 championship was one As much as I hated it bro that 23 run
[27:24] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It was phenomenal for all.
[27:26] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I hate this lesson, a part of it.
[27:29] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Oh, my God.
[27:30] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Don't say that.
[27:31] \[SPEAKER_04\]: That's what you're doing.
[27:32] \[SPEAKER_04\]: That's what I'm going to say.
[27:34] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Because that season was horrible.
[27:35] \[SPEAKER_04\]: That's what I'm going to see that was awful.
[27:39] \[SPEAKER_04\]: And I think I think that run helped a lot of people forget, like the way you see your right.
[27:45] \[SPEAKER_04\]: It was.
[27:45] \[SPEAKER_04\]: And it's like, so when people try and throw their argument at me, it's like, I let it bounce off because like, I can't like, I didn't enjoy it too.
[27:53] \[SPEAKER_04\]: But like, I remember what I was going through that whole year, like struggling to do post gay shows.
[27:59] \[SPEAKER_04\]: So shut up to you, brother, because I know you're taking up a post gang of shows.
[28:02] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah.
[28:03] \[SPEAKER_04\]: And sometimes it's hard to get to that microphone.
[28:07] \[SPEAKER_04\]: But yeah, the 23-yard was also super dope for me.
[28:14] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Gettin' Yannis, this is going on my mouth, rush more broke, that's gone.
[28:18] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Like they took me, they took me out of the book.
[28:21] \[SPEAKER_04\]: It was getting, it was getting spooky.
[28:22] \[SPEAKER_04\]: The basement was about to close and do it, and I ain't gonna lie.
[28:25] \[SPEAKER_04\]: I wasn't doing this shit no more.
[28:27] \[SPEAKER_04\]: I was like, it's my favorite time.
[28:29] \[SPEAKER_04\]: I was about to retire, bro, it's over.
[28:32] \[SPEAKER_04\]: But yeah, Gettin' Yannis is one, and let me see.
[28:36] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Fourth one?
[28:37] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Oh, I didn't say this about part of like,
[28:44] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Who's your uncle?
[28:46] \[SPEAKER_04\]: My uncle's Eddie Jones.
[28:48] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Really?
[28:49] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Eddie Jones' father, uh, was married to my grandmother when he died.
[28:54] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Uh, my mom.
[28:55] \[SPEAKER_04\]: So Eddie Jones grew up as my mom's younger brother.
[28:59] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That's crazy, man.
[29:00] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, you had a tie like that.
[29:02] \[SPEAKER_01\]: EJ is a really good dude.
[29:04] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Shout out to Eddie Jones.
[29:07] \[SPEAKER_04\]: I never thought about it because I never really liked.
[29:10] \[SPEAKER_04\]: desire to use it in that form, but like I guess it's been talking about.
[29:14] \[SPEAKER_04\]: And talking about my fandom and then you talking about like my Mount Rushmore, getting the opportunity to go in the locker room and meet waiting you don't have some in that rookie season was another one.
[29:25] \[SPEAKER_01\]: that is dope.
[29:26] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Yeah, so that's, that's part of my highest as a friend.
[29:30] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Because that was before it all happened, you know?
[29:32] \[SPEAKER_04\]: That was before it like, I'm talking about braids you done.
[29:35] \[SPEAKER_04\]: It's like, yeah, this is before anybody knew like what it was training.
[29:40] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, no, he wasn't him yet, but you know what I mean, but it was like, it was after the All Star Break.
[29:47] \[SPEAKER_04\]: So he had already kind of like,
[29:49] \[SPEAKER_04\]: risen up a little bit.
[29:50] \[SPEAKER_04\]: You start to see that extra leap start to take.
[29:53] \[SPEAKER_04\]: So I was like, this young dude, this rigged you got it.
[29:55] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Like, and I got an opportunity to me him.
[29:57] \[SPEAKER_04\]: So like, that was super dope.
[29:58] \[SPEAKER_04\]: That was my freshman year high school.
[30:00] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So yeah, that, that is really fun.
[30:03] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I eat in of all people, obviously.
[30:05] \[SPEAKER_01\]: He's helped a lot of us recognize and realize dreams.
[30:11] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I followed his ass around the 2019 All-Star break in Charlotte and we basically just followed Dwayne around it was his last All-Star game and that was my opportunity to get the chance to talk to him and you know like those kind of moments like that's the kind of stuff you can't measure necessarily that keep you connected and also what pisses you off when it takes
[30:39] \[SPEAKER_01\]: it's crazy that you're putting that on the Mount Rushmore because you didn't say the big three acquisition was on the Mount Rushmore.
[30:45] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Is that inherent or no, wow, this is a humbug.
[30:49] \[SPEAKER_04\]: So it's not, it's not for me, um, I was a part of that Duane Wade versus LeBron thing too, and I always thought way it was better.
[30:58] \[SPEAKER_04\]: So when LeBron James came to the mind to heat, I was excited for what it meant, you know what I mean?
[31:04] \[SPEAKER_04\]: But like,
[31:06] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Also new, that's Debrage, and we're gonna take the ball out of the driveway since.
[31:10] \[SPEAKER_04\]: And I don't care for that.
[31:12] \[SPEAKER_04\]: So we'll have to go back to Cleveland.
[31:15] \[SPEAKER_04\]: There was more happy to say that way we get an opportunity to get the ball back in.
[31:19] \[SPEAKER_04\]: It kind of begins to begin and I get to watch him at his very best, the best version of him.
[31:25] \[SPEAKER_04\]: I always thought it was him with the ball in the sense.
[31:27] \[SPEAKER_04\]: And I loved to watch it.
[31:29] \[SPEAKER_04\]: So like, yeah, like I was happy that LeBron came, but definitely said that my favorite player was going to be an off ball robin type thing.
[31:37] \[SPEAKER_04\]: That's not a robin.
[31:38] \[SPEAKER_04\]: That's, it was two Batman's on that team, you understand me?
[31:41] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Okay, very true.
[31:43] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Very true.
[31:45] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And that's an inch, I think you're probably the only person I've heard say that they're happy, or kind of happy, whatever you want to say, when Brong left.
[31:54] \[SPEAKER_01\]: A lot of people, you know, Ethan had to move to Cleveland.
[31:57] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I mean, shit, that's the worst thing that possibly happened to you.
[32:02] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Royale, this has been a great conversation.
[32:03] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Tell the people that are listening or watching where they can find you, because I'm going to be honest, like there's a lot of games where I think you will find just as an entertaining post game host as you will at five on the floor, tell them where they could find you.
[32:19] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Hey, I used to be a five on the floor.
[32:21] \[SPEAKER_04\]: They taught me how to host.
[32:22] \[SPEAKER_04\]: So you know to me, can't beat the best.
[32:24] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Y'all understand there.
[32:25] \[SPEAKER_04\]: But yeah, if folks want to find me yelling and screaming at the team, when they don't do what I want to do, you can always check out the basement sports network on YouTube.
[32:35] \[SPEAKER_04\]: You can find us on Twitter at basement sports in.
[32:37] \[SPEAKER_04\]: If you want to irritate yourself that find me on Twitter at Royal A Shepherd, I'm just going to piss you off.
[32:43] \[SPEAKER_04\]: So like, you follow me if you want.
[32:46] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Don't follow me.
[32:47] \[SPEAKER_04\]: I don't care.
[32:48] \[SPEAKER_04\]: I'm going to go again.
[32:48] \[SPEAKER_04\]: I'm going to get my shit off.
[32:49] \[SPEAKER_04\]: I'm getting these jokes out whether you like it or not.
[32:52] \[SPEAKER_04\]: But yeah, I'm always down for a conversation.
[32:55] \[SPEAKER_04\]: A green and disagree is just to interrupt.
[32:58] \[SPEAKER_04\]: So yeah, that's that's what I'm mad.
[32:59] \[SPEAKER_04\]: And I'll be on the register of heat podcasts for Harrison sometime too.
[33:03] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Like, I just let them do their own thing.
[33:06] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Hey, I think this is a good moment too where I'm going to reiterate now with hot take Harry joining now Royals here.
[33:14] \[SPEAKER_01\]: There is no beef between the basement, the five on the floor, dead, that completely and appreciate it.
[33:23] \[SPEAKER_01\]: The conversation man.
[33:24] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Yeah, I'm sure about it.
[33:26] \[SPEAKER_04\]: I was a good time talking to you, Greg.
[33:27] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yep.
[33:28] \[SPEAKER_01\]: All right.
[33:29] \[SPEAKER_01\]: This has been another episode of Lifeers, who knows who comes up next, peace.
