[0:04] Speaker 1: and two times People's Choice Award winning podcast.
[0:11] Speaker 2: Hello everybody, we are scrubbing in.
[0:16] Speaker 3: Uh oh, well, we have an exclusive.
[0:21] Speaker 1: We have an exclusive. It's a very exciting time because
[0:26] Speaker 1: Harry Styles is back. He's back in a big way.
[0:31] Speaker 2: And that's a big deal for everyone on planet Earth.
[0:33] Speaker 2: But what happens specifically for you, Tanya, Well.
[0:37] Speaker 1: No, I do want to touch on the it's big
[0:39] Speaker 1: on for everybody on planet Earth because I feel like,
[0:42] Speaker 1: as a whole, we have all been what's the word
[0:46] Speaker 1: I'm looking for in a drought?
[0:49] Speaker 3: Never a drought.
[0:52] Speaker 1: And Harry said, let me bring them water. Oh, it's
[0:56] Speaker 1: been raining outside and he said, let me bring the
[0:58] Speaker 1: sunshine thaking For a.
[1:00] Speaker 4: Good half of the United States, it's been freezing.
[1:03] Speaker 1: And Harry said, let there be son, Let there be warmth.
[1:09] Speaker 1: He knew it's like we needed him, and he knew
[1:11] Speaker 1: this was the time. And he's back. The song is out.
[1:17] Speaker 1: It is so good. Becca hasn't heard it yet because
[1:20] Speaker 1: we're recording this on Thursday, but.
[1:22] Speaker 3: Can you tell me about it?
[1:24] Speaker 1: Yes, it is the thing about this song is like, Okay, well,
[1:29] Speaker 1: let me take you back. So on Tuesday of this week,
[1:34] Speaker 1: my boss Biatta pulled me into her office and Sisney
[1:37] Speaker 1: and basically said, Harry Styles is going to do one
[1:40] Speaker 1: interview for all of iHeart and he chose the two
[1:44] Speaker 1: of you, me and Sisney.
[1:46] Speaker 3: That's right.
[1:47] Speaker 1: So I had full body chills, Like I literally had
[1:49] Speaker 1: full body chills.
[1:50] Speaker 4: That's a really big deal.
[1:51] Speaker 1: Oh my gosh. I was sweating.
[1:54] Speaker 4: I Heart Radio, which is hundreds of radio stations, yes,
[1:57] Speaker 4: a lot of pressure too, and York and All's huge.
[2:01] Speaker 4: iHeart Radio huge. What would you like, Harry, I'd like
[2:04] Speaker 4: Tanya ed, I'd Likexicity.
[2:06] Speaker 1: Yeah. So that was overwhelming. And also, like, you know,
[2:11] Speaker 1: I've been very emotional the past couple of weeks and
[2:13] Speaker 1: like just really down on myself. So this was like
[2:16] Speaker 1: quite the high to receive, quite the you know, what
[2:20] Speaker 1: goes down must come back up. And I shot right
[2:23] Speaker 1: back up. I went full into like interview remode, and
[2:27] Speaker 1: I was like, let's go, like, let's do this. So
[2:30] Speaker 1: the song hadn't come out yet, and the label sent
[2:33] Speaker 1: over like the head of his record label came to
[2:36] Speaker 1: our loading dock the other day in like a sprinter
[2:39] Speaker 1: van to play us the single aperture in the sprinter
[2:43] Speaker 1: van with like the bass high and he just played
[2:45] Speaker 1: it over and over and over again. So we listened
[2:47] Speaker 1: to it like probably three or four times, and then
[2:50] Speaker 1: we got to like ask him questions about this song,
[2:52] Speaker 1: ask him questions about the rollout, and then we listened
[2:55] Speaker 1: to it a couple more times. So I was like
[2:56] Speaker 1: in this sprinter ban for like an hour on Wednesday.
[3:01] Speaker 3: And it's like a mission.
[3:04] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[3:04] Speaker 1: Yeah, I like listening to new music and cars, so
[3:07] Speaker 1: I really appreciated the vibe of it. But like, the
[3:11] Speaker 1: thing is this song. When I heard it for the
[3:13] Speaker 1: first time, I was like, I can't even describe it
[3:15] Speaker 1: to somebody because he's pushing music forward, like he's not
[3:19] Speaker 1: doing something that's been done. It doesn't it doesn't sound like.
[3:22] Speaker 1: I can't even put it in a box because there's
[3:25] Speaker 1: no box it belongs. And that's how like different and
[3:28] Speaker 1: cool it is. And it really takes you on a journey,
[3:32] Speaker 1: like you're fully It feels like sunrise to sunset, like
[3:35] Speaker 1: you get a whole day of emotions. It's very upbeat,
[3:40] Speaker 1: and it's like disco. It's yeah, I guess you could
[3:43] Speaker 1: say like it's kind of disco people were saying it's
[3:45] Speaker 1: a little like what's like z electronic, a little electronic,
[3:51] Speaker 1: but I house a little house, but I don't think
[3:53] Speaker 1: it is. It's because it's it's it's it's so hairy,
[3:57] Speaker 1: you know. I don't know how to explain it. But
[4:01] Speaker 1: it's so good. It's so good. And the fact that
[4:03] Speaker 1: this is like the lead single off the album and
[4:05] Speaker 1: like this album is going to be phenomenal.
[4:09] Speaker 2: Where would you rank it as other singles he's.
[4:11] Speaker 4: Put out in the past, good question.
[4:14] Speaker 1: I want to say, it's like my favorite. Wow, it's
[4:19] Speaker 1: so good, Like it really is so good. And you know, Aperture.
[4:22] Speaker 1: I didn't know what aperture was until he named this
[4:25] Speaker 1: song aperture. Yeah.
[4:27] Speaker 3: Yeah, But.
[4:29] Speaker 1: It's all about letting Like it's the camera lens that
[4:32] Speaker 1: lets the light in and so it's all about the
[4:34] Speaker 1: theme is like letting light into your life. And like
[4:37] Speaker 1: with the disco ball that it gives off all the light.
[4:39] Speaker 1: It's like the theme is light on this album, and
[4:42] Speaker 1: I think that's like so beautiful and I feel like
[4:43] Speaker 1: Harry's so poetic and like this is him coming to
[4:47] Speaker 1: us with like something very profound, like let the light
[4:50] Speaker 1: into your life, Let more light into your life.
[4:54] Speaker 3: Yeah, and that's what he's doing for us.
[4:56] Speaker 1: And that's what he's doing for us. So anyways, okay,
[4:58] Speaker 1: so we listened to the song, we ask all the
[5:00] Speaker 1: questions and everything's like, you know, they don't want anything
[5:04] Speaker 1: to leak, so everything was like very very protected. And
[5:09] Speaker 1: then we ended up getting the lyrics later that night,
[5:12] Speaker 1: and I saw this like specific lyric that I was like,
[5:13] Speaker 1: I have to ask him about because it just like
[5:16] Speaker 1: struck me. I want to know what safe is? Oh
[5:21] Speaker 1: uh huh. Don't we all just want to feel safe?
[5:25] Speaker 3: Yeah, we want to know what that is, who that
[5:28] Speaker 3: is exactly.
[5:29] Speaker 1: It's like safety in your job, safety in your relationships,
[5:33] Speaker 1: safety and your friendships. Like safety is such like a
[5:35] Speaker 1: universal thing. And so anyways, I also had like a
[5:39] Speaker 1: big debate on what I wanted to wear, even though
[5:41] Speaker 1: the interview was on Zoom. I was like, what do
[5:43] Speaker 1: I wear? I always wear hairy Merch every time we
[5:46] Speaker 1: talked to him, so I felt like I needed to
[5:47] Speaker 1: wear hairy Merch. Uh huh, So I did. I'm wearing
[5:50] Speaker 1: a sweatshirt that says treat people with kindness.
[5:54] Speaker 2: Really a message we desperately need right now.
[5:58] Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a throwback to the twenty nineteen album, but you.
[6:02] Speaker 3: Know, timeless message.
[6:04] Speaker 1: He noticed and appreciated, He noticed and appreciated, Yes he did.
[6:08] Speaker 3: Wow, did he notice your blowout? Your hair?
[6:11] Speaker 1: You know he did not.
[6:13] Speaker 3: I'm sure he thought it, but he couldn't say anything
[6:15] Speaker 3: about it.
[6:16] Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm sure he was thinking like, wow, Tony's hair
[6:18] Speaker 2: looks amazing.
[6:19] Speaker 1: Yeah. You know, when you're feeling low, you gotta do
[6:23] Speaker 1: give yourself a little extra high in any way that
[6:25] Speaker 1: you can.
[6:26] Speaker 2: I would have had my makeup professionally done and my
[6:30] Speaker 2: hair done, styled and everything.
[6:33] Speaker 3: Yeah, no judgment, only respect.
[6:36] Speaker 1: Thank you, Thank you. It was an early wake up call,
[6:38] Speaker 1: but it was necessary.
[6:40] Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, you did what you had to do.
[6:42] Speaker 1: I did what I had to do.
[6:44] Speaker 2: So did he allude to like what the album?
[6:49] Speaker 3: I mean?
[6:49] Speaker 2: I know it's about letting the light in? But is
[6:51] Speaker 2: it romantic? Is it fun?
[6:53] Speaker 3: Is it?
[6:55] Speaker 1: What is the way he's like describing it is basically
[6:58] Speaker 1: like it's something that he's experienced and like these joys
[7:02] Speaker 1: that he's experienced in his life and that he wants
[7:05] Speaker 1: us as his fans to experience and kind of like
[7:08] Speaker 1: hold our hands through like through it. Mark was there
[7:10] Speaker 1: Markred the whole thing.
[7:11] Speaker 4: Yeah, And if anyone would like to hear it, they
[7:13] Speaker 4: can check out the entire interview with the on air
[7:15] Speaker 4: with Ryan podcast feeding wherever you listen to podcasts.
[7:18] Speaker 1: But that's kind of how we described it. It was
[7:20] Speaker 1: basically like, these are all the things that he's found
[7:23] Speaker 1: joy in in his life, and like he wants to
[7:25] Speaker 1: like kind of hold our hands as like as we're
[7:27] Speaker 1: experiencing that in our lives too.
[7:30] Speaker 2: Wow, he wants us all to collectively have the experience of.
[7:34] Speaker 1: Joy exactly the joy that he has found. Wow, but
[7:38] Speaker 1: it is crez. What was his hair like when he
[7:42] Speaker 1: looked so cute? He was wearing like a sweater with
[7:46] Speaker 1: a like a like a collared shirt underneath. His hair
[7:50] Speaker 1: was short. He looked very like put together but still
[7:55] Speaker 1: like very hot, Harry Harry, And he was just so sweet,
[8:01] Speaker 1: like you know, like he's very playful. He he appreciates,
[8:07] Speaker 1: he appreciates his fans so much, like you can tell
[8:10] Speaker 1: he genuinely Like because I was geeking out, I was
[8:12] Speaker 1: like making all the faces like I was like, and
[8:15] Speaker 1: he was like doing it back to me, Like he
[8:17] Speaker 1: was just so engaged and like I just I'll never forget.
[8:21] Speaker 1: I feel like he's one of those artists that is
[8:23] Speaker 1: just so kind, Like he's always been so kind and
[8:26] Speaker 1: generous to me, even when I did that interview years ago.
[8:29] Speaker 1: Before we did the interview, he like brought me backstage,
[8:31] Speaker 1: introduced me to like everybody that was in the band,
[8:34] Speaker 1: like wanted me to feel comfortable and a part of
[8:37] Speaker 1: and like he doesn't have to do that.
[8:40] Speaker 2: So which show are we going today or New York?
[8:46] Speaker 1: Is really I feel like the two that we have
[8:48] Speaker 1: to choose for now? For now?
[8:52] Speaker 3: Yeah, for now?
[8:54] Speaker 1: Did you get some sort of bat signal? Did you
[8:56] Speaker 1: feel like this was the moment?
[8:58] Speaker 2: Like when did that sink in?
[8:59] Speaker 5: I think the last like two years in particular of
[9:03] Speaker 5: my life has been a lot about being on the
[9:05] Speaker 5: other side of the audience experience, Like how special it
[9:09] Speaker 5: is to be experiencing live music with strangers, Like I'm
[9:13] Speaker 5: ready to play this in a room and play it
[9:15] Speaker 5: loud and dance with people. That kind of was the
[9:19] Speaker 5: capitalist to say, like, Okay, I'm ready to start thinking
[9:22] Speaker 5: about putting this out into the world.
[9:41] Speaker 2: I was going to ask how Robbie responded to you
[9:44] Speaker 2: being selected as the interviewer for Harry You know.
[9:48] Speaker 1: What's personally funny. I can't remember.
[9:51] Speaker 2: Oh.
[9:51] Speaker 1: I was telling him that I was getting my hair
[9:53] Speaker 1: blown out or something and he was like, oh, yeah,
[9:56] Speaker 1: you are. And I was like, does to make are
[9:59] Speaker 1: you jealous? He's like no, like not at all. I'm
[10:01] Speaker 1: so happy. I'm so proud of you. And I was
[10:03] Speaker 1: like m.
[10:06] Speaker 3: And he means it.
[10:07] Speaker 1: He does. He doesn't get jealous at.
[10:08] Speaker 6: All, like Harry style upset to you, like Harry picked me, Yeah, babe,
[10:17] Speaker 6: Harry picked me out of everyone.
[10:20] Speaker 1: Yeah. No, he wasn't rattled at all.
[10:23] Speaker 3: Strong soldier.
[10:24] Speaker 1: No, that's what you call securely attached.
[10:27] Speaker 3: He found safe, he found he found what's safe.
[10:30] Speaker 1: He couldn't be couldn't have found a safer to be honest, And.
[10:35] Speaker 3: That's where that's what we hope for for everyone that
[10:38] Speaker 3: we love.
[10:38] Speaker 1: Yeah, that's true.
[10:40] Speaker 3: It is pretty epic, Tanya.
[10:41] Speaker 2: Like you, your life is so crazy and like the
[10:45] Speaker 2: people you get to talk to and me, and you
[10:48] Speaker 2: always think, oh, how cool I have this once in
[10:50] Speaker 2: a lifetime experience and then Harry years later is like
[10:54] Speaker 2: coming right back, coming right back, Becca.
[10:57] Speaker 1: It's not lost on me and actually I I I
[11:00] Speaker 1: actually cried when Biatta told us that it was actually
[11:03] Speaker 1: happening because you needed that. I needed it. I really
[11:08] Speaker 1: needed it, And like it's like he knew I needed it,
[11:12] Speaker 1: which is so wild.
[11:16] Speaker 3: He's aware, he feels things, you know.
[11:19] Speaker 1: What I appreciate though, is like a lot of these shows,
[11:22] Speaker 1: like a lot of these late night shows. Like I
[11:23] Speaker 1: remember when Taylor Swift was doing the rollout in promo
[11:26] Speaker 1: for Life of a Showgirl, and like every interview she
[11:29] Speaker 1: did was like a man's show, Like it was like
[11:31] Speaker 1: a male show, you know, And I was like, I
[11:33] Speaker 1: wish you would do like some female you know, like
[11:36] Speaker 1: something I'd like call her Daddy or Drew barrymore, like
[11:39] Speaker 1: you know what I mean, Like just give it to
[11:42] Speaker 1: the gals. Yeah, that's what Harry did.
[11:48] Speaker 3: I know.
[11:48] Speaker 2: I think that I do think that's just a testament
[11:51] Speaker 2: to him because that was a very thoughtful decision.
[11:55] Speaker 3: Yeah, there's a lot of people out there, so.
[11:58] Speaker 2: Many that are in this industry, and I also think
[12:02] Speaker 2: it's a testament to how you are as an interviewer
[12:05] Speaker 2: and how you make people feel that He not only
[12:08] Speaker 2: remembered that he liked being interviewed by you, but was
[12:12] Speaker 2: like I want I want her and siciny to do it.
[12:15] Speaker 3: Again, thank you, as you were a prepared business professional.
[12:20] Speaker 1: Well, you know what I realized is like I just
[12:23] Speaker 1: like to go so into the lyrics and like I
[12:26] Speaker 1: like to like really get in there, but I want
[12:30] Speaker 1: to be respectful because I was also doing the interview
[12:31] Speaker 1: with somebody else, so I didn't want to like get
[12:34] Speaker 1: two in there. Yeah, you know, so I was trying
[12:38] Speaker 1: to like be respectful. Was I respectful?
[12:41] Speaker 2: Now?
[12:41] Speaker 4: I thought you were very respectful to each other, both
[12:43] Speaker 4: of you were. I thought that was nice. How you
[12:45] Speaker 4: too kind of shared it and handed it off back
[12:47] Speaker 4: and forth and behind the scenes before Harry came on,
[12:50] Speaker 4: you guys choreographed it, like okay, I'll ask this, you
[12:52] Speaker 4: ask this into this.
[12:55] Speaker 1: Yeah that was really great.
[12:57] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[12:57] Speaker 2: Wow, a choreographed dance, A flow, a flow if you will, right,
[13:03] Speaker 2: It's really really cool.
[13:05] Speaker 1: And we hade like backup questions in case he was
[13:08] Speaker 1: not as chatty, but I knew he was gonna be chatty.
[13:10] Speaker 1: So it's like, I don't think we need the backup questions.
[13:12] Speaker 3: But do we have a track list yet?
[13:17] Speaker 1: So we don't now we don't, But this is gonna work.
[13:20] Speaker 1: This is gonna come out on Friday, and I believe
[13:23] Speaker 1: that we will.
[13:25] Speaker 2: Mmmmmm, well, I'm hoping we do, and then on Monday's podcast,
[13:31] Speaker 2: we can guess which song we think is gonna be
[13:33] Speaker 2: our favorite, because I love that game and I don't
[13:35] Speaker 2: know if I'm ever spot on with my choices, but
[13:38] Speaker 2: it's always fun to play.
[13:40] Speaker 1: I agree. I Actually I feel like I do a
[13:42] Speaker 1: pretty good job.
[13:44] Speaker 2: I feel like we're always maybe there's one that we
[13:46] Speaker 2: all like, really like, there's one that we choose that
[13:49] Speaker 2: we love, But then I think the other two that
[13:51] Speaker 2: we normally choose, we're like.
[13:52] Speaker 6: Oh, miss Judge, whoopsies, whoopsies.
[13:58] Speaker 2: I'm so proud of you, and I can't wait to
[14:00] Speaker 2: go to a concert, go backstage with you.
[14:07] Speaker 3: I'm kidding. I know you'll take I'll know you. I
[14:09] Speaker 3: know you'll take.
[14:09] Speaker 2: Robbie so that Robbie can charm him and be like
[14:13] Speaker 2: bros with him.
[14:15] Speaker 1: No, I don't think when we went to the Love
[14:17] Speaker 1: On tour and we didn't go backstage.
[14:21] Speaker 3: Well, it's a new year, a new day, a new album,
[14:24] Speaker 3: a new tour.
[14:25] Speaker 1: Yeah, you never know. If not me, who.
[14:29] Speaker 3: Did he feel like he was in love?
[14:32] Speaker 1: Oh?
[14:35] Speaker 3: I don't know.
[14:36] Speaker 1: I mean, he seems just so happy, he kept saying,
[14:38] Speaker 1: how happy he was.
[14:41] Speaker 2: And that doesn't mean he has a romantic partner, It
[14:44] Speaker 2: just means he loves life, which is his energy.
[14:47] Speaker 1: Yeah, honestly, he seemed really happy and like excited to
[14:50] Speaker 1: be back and like grateful.
[14:54] Speaker 2: Well, we are excited to have him back, and I'm
[14:56] Speaker 2: excited that you got to talk to him and be
[15:00] Speaker 2: an exclusive.
[15:00] Speaker 3: For iHeart let that be heard all around.
[15:03] Speaker 2: iHeart the joy and honor that you have having Tanya,
[15:08] Speaker 2: Rad and Sisney on your team.
[15:10] Speaker 1: Wow, Becca, thank you just letting the masses. No, thank
[15:14] Speaker 1: you for doing this last minute. I don't know what
[15:19] Speaker 1: you call surprise podcast.
[15:21] Speaker 3: Sure, sure, yeah, my pleasure.
[15:24] Speaker 1: Really, there's been a lot of moving parts. It's been
[15:26] Speaker 1: a very busy forty eight hours.
[15:31] Speaker 2: When there's a scrubbing and exclusive needed, I can hop on. Well, okay,
[15:39] Speaker 2: I'm so proud of you and pay all the scrubbers.
