[0:00] Speaker 1: Scrubbing in with Becca Tilly and Tanya Radd, an iHeartRadio.
[0:04] Speaker 2: And two-time People's Choice Award-winning podcast.
[0:11] Speaker 1: Hello, everybody. We are scrubbing in. Yes, that's my voice
[0:15] Speaker 1: two times because Becca is out. She is officially in
[0:19] Speaker 1: Thailand and she'll be gone for two weeks of the podcast.
[0:23] Speaker 1: But I am very excited because we have a co-host
[0:26] Speaker 1: today that I love so much.
[0:29] Speaker 2: And I....
[0:31] Speaker 1: I was thinking about who I wanted to do the
[0:32] Speaker 1: podcast with. And I was like, I really just, I
[0:34] Speaker 1: was talking to our producer, Sam. I was like, I
[0:35] Speaker 1: just want somebody to like laugh and have like girl
[0:37] Speaker 1: chat with. And this is the perfect guest to do
[0:41] Speaker 1: those things. So please welcome Ashley Ai to the podcast.
[0:46] Speaker 2: Hi, I feel so pressure on, you know what I mean?
[0:52] Speaker 2: I feel like pressure on because you guys are the
[0:55] Speaker 2: most joy filled, um, best girl talkers ever. So are you.
[1:01] Speaker 2: I mean, thanks. It's been a while. You know what
[1:04] Speaker 2: I mean? Because I used to have a Girl Talk podcast.
[1:06] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[1:07] Speaker 2: It's been like over a year.
[1:08] Speaker 1: Well, now you can bring it.
[1:09] Speaker 2: Now you can bring it here. Yeah. Okay. Let's do it.
[1:12] Speaker 2: Do we have hot topics and stuff? Yeah.
[1:14] Speaker 1: So much. Well, there's like so much to cover. And
[1:16] Speaker 1: first of all, I want to say thank you to
[1:19] Speaker 1: the scrubbers because we usually record our podcast on Mondays.
[1:22] Speaker 1: The past two Mondays, I'm doing a little something different
[1:25] Speaker 1: with my trying to conceive era.
[1:29] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[1:30] Speaker 1: I'm doing something a little different this month, which requires
[1:32] Speaker 1: me to be going to like doctor's appointments and things.
[1:34] Speaker 1: So we're doing a recording on a Tuesday, releasing this
[1:37] Speaker 1: on a Tuesday. I just want to say thank you
[1:38] Speaker 1: to the scrubbers for understanding and being flexible with my schedule,
[1:44] Speaker 1: but we should be right on track. Oh no, next
[1:47] Speaker 1: week's Labor Day. So we'll be back on Tuesday next week.
[1:50] Speaker 1: But I just wanted to say thank you. Cause I
[1:52] Speaker 1: know like I get in my routine with my podcast.
[1:54] Speaker 1: Like I love having my certain podcasts that I listen
[1:56] Speaker 1: to specific days that they drop. So when you go
[1:59] Speaker 1: off your format, it like, really messes with you as
[2:02] Speaker 1: a consumer, like me as a listener. So I don't
[2:04] Speaker 1: like doing that to our scrubbers.
[2:05] Speaker 2: Okay. So Tanya, what day do you listen to Hey Jonas?
[2:12] Speaker 1: Um, every day of the week. What day do you
[2:14] Speaker 1: listen to Hey Jonas?
[2:17] Speaker 2: Well, so they've been coming out with multiple a week
[2:21] Speaker 2: where I'm like, Hey boss, to all of us, Amy, like,
[2:25] Speaker 2: are you guys, uh, like, this is a lot.
[2:27] Speaker 1: Like you listen every time they drop one.
[2:30] Speaker 2: No. So what I do, I listen to every single episode,
[2:33] Speaker 2: but because I want to be in a certain mood
[2:36] Speaker 2: when those come out, I kind of bank them. Like
[2:40] Speaker 2: sometimes I'll go like 10 days without listening to them.
[2:42] Speaker 2: I also like watching those podcasts instead of just listening.
[2:47] Speaker 2: Obvious reasons. And I also like want to be in
[2:51] Speaker 2: a place where I'm happy and zen because I don't
[2:54] Speaker 2: want to ever associate Jonas with a time that I'm stressed.
[2:58] Speaker 1: I mean, but it's not how you like, I feel
[3:00] Speaker 1: like that's how I like listen to everything is like,
[3:02] Speaker 1: I have to be in certain moods. I have to
[3:04] Speaker 1: kind of just like know what's going on. I don't,
[3:07] Speaker 1: I have like my specific things I do when I walk,
[3:09] Speaker 1: when I'm driving. You do?
[3:12] Speaker 2: Yeah. Okay. So do you listen to music when you
[3:16] Speaker 2: walk or podcast when you walk?
[3:17] Speaker 1: Podcast when I walk.
[3:19] Speaker 2: Okay. When do you listen to music then?
[3:21] Speaker 1: When I'm working out.
[3:22] Speaker 2: Okay.
[3:23] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[3:24] Speaker 2: Well, I don't work out. So that's the thing.
[3:26] Speaker 1: Okay. Speaking of Jonas, I want, well, I mean, I
[3:30] Speaker 1: just feel like there's like so much to talk to
[3:31] Speaker 1: you about, but so I'm going to prioritize, but you
[3:34] Speaker 1: started off with Jonas. So I'm going to start off
[3:36] Speaker 1: with Jonas. We actually got to see each other last
[3:38] Speaker 1: week in New York at Madison Square Garden. Can you
[3:40] Speaker 1: believe that was last week?
[3:43] Speaker 2: Well, it's almost, yeah, it's like a week and a
[3:44] Speaker 2: half ago. And let me just say that was one
[3:47] Speaker 2: of the most joy filled days of my life.
[3:50] Speaker 1: So I was trying to, so Becca's never been to
[3:51] Speaker 1: a Jonas Brothers concert before.
[3:53] Speaker 2: Yeah. So I've learned at the Scrubbing It podcast. Yeah.
[3:56] Speaker 1: And I'm like, how have you never been to one?
[3:59] Speaker 1: First of all, and I'm like, it's such a, because
[4:01] Speaker 1: I mean, you've gone, we've gone to other concerts. There's
[4:04] Speaker 1: something in the room, in the, like the vibe of
[4:07] Speaker 1: a Jonas Brothers concert that really cannot be replicated at
[4:09] Speaker 1: another show.
[4:10] Speaker 2: No. And- Anybody who goes for the first time kind
[4:14] Speaker 2: of picks up on that. When Jared went to his
[4:17] Speaker 2: first couple back in 2019, he's like, it truly is
[4:20] Speaker 2: like the happiest place in the world. It's like a
[4:24] Speaker 2: Disney world for music and fandom.
[4:27] Speaker 1: Yeah. And even if you don't know any, like Robbie
[4:29] Speaker 1: also didn't know like any of the songs and he
[4:31] Speaker 1: still had like the best time because the energy was
[4:34] Speaker 1: just like infectious.
[4:36] Speaker 2: It's something about the fans, like those fans. They're just...
[4:43] Speaker 2: They resonate with me. I relate to them so much.
[4:46] Speaker 2: There's just like something in the quality of people that,
[4:49] Speaker 2: that the Jonas brothers attract. So you're just like in
[4:52] Speaker 2: a room with the best girls ever. Ever. Okay.
[4:55] Speaker 1: Wait, what's your Jonas ranking? Have we talked about this?
[4:59] Speaker 2: Well, I don't like to rank now. You know what
[5:00] Speaker 2: I mean?
[5:01] Speaker 1: Why?
[5:01] Speaker 2: Well, because it's just like straight up wrong. Like I
[5:04] Speaker 2: don't want to rank them. Oh, you're talking about as brothers?
[5:07] Speaker 1: No, like who's your favorite? Like one, two, three, like
[5:10] Speaker 1: your favorite. Not like ranking, like hotness, like ranking favoritism.
[5:14] Speaker 2: No, like I'm okay to rank hotness, but I'm not
[5:16] Speaker 2: like not okay to rank favoritism because like I love
[5:19] Speaker 2: them all. Okay.
[5:20] Speaker 1: I guess rank hotness then.
[5:24] Speaker 2: Well, I mean, Joe has always been like Joe, you know,
[5:27] Speaker 2: to me, like he's always been the hot, he's always
[5:30] Speaker 2: been my celebrity crush for 18 years.
[5:33] Speaker 1: And you married somebody that looks kind of like him.
[5:35] Speaker 2: I mean, right.
[5:36] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[5:37] Speaker 2: And I joke all the time. Like, you know, when
[5:39] Speaker 2: I get on Instagram and I'm just like, look at
[5:41] Speaker 2: this video, like, ah, um, I'm like, thank God you
[5:44] Speaker 2: like have such a resemblance. Like you look more like them, babe.
[5:48] Speaker 2: And like, he looks like Joe of most of all
[5:50] Speaker 2: of them, but you look more like them than even
[5:54] Speaker 2: Franklin does.
[5:55] Speaker 1: Definitely.
[5:56] Speaker 2: He looks like he really could be the fourth brother. And, um, yeah,
[6:00] Speaker 2: he like is not weirded out at all. He's like, yeah,
[6:03] Speaker 2: I mean, it's nice that there's such a, I don't want.
[6:07] Speaker 1: To say I love them so much. Like it like
[6:09] Speaker 1: actually hurts.
[6:10] Speaker 2: No, I know. Like it brings me so much joy
[6:12] Speaker 2: to my life. And I love the fact that you
[6:14] Speaker 2: are like quite friendly with them. And then you also
[6:18] Speaker 2: just get on your mic and you're just like, hi,
[6:22] Speaker 2: I love you so much. Like you love them, love them,
[6:25] Speaker 2: no shame. And that's how I am too. It's just
[6:29] Speaker 2: the love. It's 18 years of just.
[6:35] Speaker 2: Making my life better.
[6:36] Speaker 1: Yes. Making my life better. I know. And like, it's
[6:39] Speaker 1: so funny because I find myself going between this like,
[6:42] Speaker 1: fan and friend with them at times that like is
[6:46] Speaker 1: so weird like sometimes I'm like I'm sitting in Kevin's
[6:49] Speaker 1: dressing room having like a Aperol spritz and I'm just
[6:52] Speaker 1: like I'm sitting in Kevin's dressing room having an Aperol
[6:55] Speaker 1: spritz you know what I mean like.
[6:57] Speaker 2: That's why it's funny for me to watch you because
[6:59] Speaker 2: like you embrace the fact that you're like a friend
[7:04] Speaker 2: and fan and one and you actually separate it which
[7:06] Speaker 2: is kind of amazing.
[7:10] Speaker 1: Like you would think as a friend, it'd be embarrassing
[7:14] Speaker 1: that I'm like standing so close to the stage, screaming
[7:17] Speaker 1: the words out to their songs, like making eye contact
[7:20] Speaker 1: with them and belting out the lyrics and like crying
[7:23] Speaker 1: at times. But like, I have no shame. And then
[7:28] Speaker 1: when they tell me that they can see me and like,
[7:30] Speaker 1: they like, it like makes them happy when they see
[7:32] Speaker 1: me having like such a good time. I'm like, nah,
[7:35] Speaker 1: that's like, that's where I need to be.
[7:37] Speaker 2: It's just, it's so soul filling. Yeah. Um, and yeah,
[7:43] Speaker 2: there was something about the, that MSG concert where I
[7:46] Speaker 2: was just like, that is what I needed during that week.
[7:50] Speaker 2: It oddly put like something in perspective for me as
[7:54] Speaker 2: sounds so weird as Jonas concerts, like often do where
[7:58] Speaker 2: it's just like high quality, like high vibration.
[8:02] Speaker 1: Yes.
[8:03] Speaker 2: And it like tells you like to prioritize the high
[8:06] Speaker 2: vibrations in your life.
[8:08] Speaker 1: Did you wait? Did you see them at the sphere
[8:11] Speaker 1: watching the Backstreet Boys?
[8:12] Speaker 2: I like couldn't handle it, Tanya. Now that's where my
[8:16] Speaker 2: heart and brain exploded because obviously I love the Backstreet
[8:20] Speaker 2: Boys with so much of my heart. I love Jonas
[8:22] Speaker 2: with so much of my heart. And then I love
[8:24] Speaker 2: new kids. Like, I mean, I'm just a boy band girl, right?
[8:28] Speaker 2: Like I fully love each and every chapter of boy
[8:31] Speaker 2: band dumb. And to see Donnie Wahlberg greet the Jonas
[8:36] Speaker 2: Brothers in the box at a Backstreet Boys concert, like
[8:40] Speaker 2: I just couldn't handle it. I was like, I actually
[8:43] Speaker 2: can't think too deeply about this.
[8:45] Speaker 1: So like I specifically didn't ask anybody on the team
[8:48] Speaker 1: that I know any questions about this because I want
[8:51] Speaker 1: to like theorize as like an actual fan. But like
[8:55] Speaker 1: them going to the sphere, I'm like, are they checking
[8:57] Speaker 1: this out to maybe like have a residency there?
[9:00] Speaker 2: Did Nick not go last year? I feel like Nick
[9:03] Speaker 2: did go to Backstreet last year, but by himself.
[9:06] Speaker 1: Having all three of them there, it felt like they
[9:09] Speaker 1: were taking notes and observing it in a way like, oh,
[9:13] Speaker 1: maybe this is something that we could do at some point.
[9:16] Speaker 2: Well, do you remember that internet rumor or speculation from
[9:22] Speaker 2: a couple months ago where Nick said, when we have
[9:24] Speaker 2: our Spear residency, and then he said.
[9:27] Speaker 1: He said that?
[9:29] Speaker 2: He said- I mean, you know, down the road if
[9:31] Speaker 2: that ever happens. But then people started to like kind
[9:37] Speaker 2: of dissect that statement. I wonder how many years it
[9:41] Speaker 2: takes to plan one of those.
[9:42] Speaker 1: Did you go back straight last?
[9:44] Speaker 2: Did you go back straight? I'm going to go in
[9:46] Speaker 2: January again. I wasn't able to this summer and I
[9:50] Speaker 2: want to take my dad and my sister. So we're taking,
[9:52] Speaker 2: you know, figuring out a time and make it all go.
[9:54] Speaker 1: If the Jonas brothers have a Las Vegas residency, I'm
[10:00] Speaker 1: going to.
[10:00] Speaker 2: You and I are going to move to Vegas.
[10:02] Speaker 1: It's going to like hop on a plane every weekend. Like,
[10:05] Speaker 1: are you joking? That would be so fun.
[10:09] Speaker 2: We could make this entire podcast probably just Jonas Topic.
[10:13] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[10:14] Speaker 2: But, like, I don't even think that that would be
[10:16] Speaker 2: something they were in talks for just because we have
[10:19] Speaker 2: this whole tour in front of us right now.
[10:21] Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
[10:22] Speaker 2: I feel like this would be a couple years down
[10:24] Speaker 2: the road.
[10:24] Speaker 1: Yeah, it's not going to happen anytime soon.
[10:27] Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm wondering that, like, how many... Does it take, like,
[10:31] Speaker 2: at least a year to come up with those visuals
[10:33] Speaker 2: in that scale? No. Because... What are you talking about?
[10:36] Speaker 2: You don't think it takes a year to come up
[10:38] Speaker 2: with those sphere visuals?
[10:41] Speaker 1: Not when you have Jonas brains. So maybe next fall
[10:47] Speaker 1: we'll get the sphere? I'm going to move on from
[10:49] Speaker 1: the Jonas Brothers. Are you going to any Harry shows
[10:51] Speaker 1: at Madison Square Garden during his residency there?
[10:53] Speaker 2: Okay, so he has 30 shows, right? And how far
[10:56] Speaker 2: are they spread out?
[10:59] Speaker 1: That's a Mark question. I'm going to have to have
[11:01] Speaker 1: him look, but they are pretty spread out. It started,
[11:04] Speaker 1: it started like last week and I think he goes
[11:06] Speaker 1: through definitely through Halloween cause he's doing Harryween. So probably
[11:09] Speaker 1: end of October. It's probably the last one.
[11:12] Speaker 2: Okay. This is straight up honest. I love Harry Styles
[11:17] Speaker 2: for like the entity that he is, but like when
[11:19] Speaker 2: his hair is as short as it is right now,
[11:21] Speaker 2: it just doesn't cut it for me. Oh wow. I know. Whoops.
[11:25] Speaker 2: I'm so sorry. It's just, and, and Tonya, I really
[11:31] Speaker 2: miss old Harry. Like I miss 2016 Harry. Like I
[11:35] Speaker 2: love like rock star, like dirty, grungy, like dark, like
[11:38] Speaker 2: leather Harry and not like, like button down dresses. Harry.
[11:45] Speaker 1: Oh, I love this Harry. And I love this album.
[11:48] Speaker 1: I know this album was a little bit controversial, but like,
[11:50] Speaker 1: I really loved it.
[11:51] Speaker 2: Oh, see, I listened to it once and I was
[11:54] Speaker 2: just like, it's not, OK, we're going.
[11:56] Speaker 1: To move on because like this is just like this
[11:59] Speaker 1: is this is offensive.
[12:00] Speaker 2: We move on from this whole pop star thing. Do
[12:03] Speaker 2: you love the new Jonas song and the fact that
[12:05] Speaker 2: like every single time? they come out with new music.
[12:08] Speaker 2: I'm never disappointed. That's the greatest, one of the greatest
[12:11] Speaker 2: components about them.
[12:12] Speaker 1: Never disappointed.
[12:13] Speaker 2: Never disappointed. Like every album. I'm just like, you deliver
[12:16] Speaker 2: every time. No. Okay.
[12:18] Speaker 1: I have to just say this.
[12:19] Speaker 2: Consistency.
[12:20] Speaker 1: So Ashley was at the Friday night show of the
[12:22] Speaker 1: Jonas Brothers Madison Square Garden. And I was, I stayed
[12:27] Speaker 1: Thursday and Saturday.
[12:28] Speaker 2: Okay.
[12:29] Speaker 1: So Friday I left to like, go have dinner. Cause
[12:31] Speaker 1: I just needed like a date night with Robbie and
[12:34] Speaker 1: In the city.
[12:34] Speaker 2: Three nights in a row is a lot even for me.
[12:36] Speaker 2: You want to savor it. You want to enjoy it.
[12:38] Speaker 1: But the night that I left, I missed Rollercoaster, which
[12:43] Speaker 1: is one of my favorite Jonas Brothers songs ever. And
[12:47] Speaker 1: I'm like, that song like hits on another level that
[12:51] Speaker 1: like nobody really understands. And the fact that I missed
[12:53] Speaker 1: it really like hit me hard.
[12:56] Speaker 2: I know. I'm so sorry about that.
[12:58] Speaker 1: And they didn't do it the next night.
[12:59] Speaker 2: It's also one of my top five favorite songs. They need... Guys, hi.
[13:03] Speaker 2: Ashley and Tanya here. Really pitching the idea that it
[13:06] Speaker 2: needs to round out the tour. It needs to be
[13:10] Speaker 2: the last song every night because... It brings the burning
[13:13] Speaker 2: up tour and then the new era together. Yeah. And
[13:18] Speaker 2: then we're like all emotional thinking about how we've been
[13:21] Speaker 2: on this actual roller coaster for so many years.
[13:23] Speaker 1: And our own roller coasters of life. Of life.
[13:26] Speaker 2: Yeah. Together alongside them and like all the albums representing
[13:30] Speaker 2: like different chapters of our lives. Okay.
[13:32] Speaker 1: And with that, we're done with the Jonas Brothers.
[13:37] Speaker 2: But I love Harry and I would like to see
[13:39] Speaker 2: Harry if given the opportunity. It's just one of those
[13:42] Speaker 2: things that I don't have. Like, if I can't make
[13:44] Speaker 2: it work, then I like won't make it work. You
[13:46] Speaker 2: know what I mean?
[13:47] Speaker 1: It's fine. We're not going to fight over this.
[13:49] Speaker 2: I'm actually like, I'm interested. I'm like, you are this era, Harry.
[13:54] Speaker 1: We are going to take a quick break. But when
[13:56] Speaker 1: we come back, I want to talk about The Real
[13:57] Speaker 1: Housewives because... When I interviewed Ashley at Madison Square Garden,
[14:01] Speaker 1: the cheers and the crowd were going so loud for Ashley.
[14:04] Speaker 1: They told me to like extend with her because everybody
[14:06] Speaker 1: was like cheering so loud.
[14:07] Speaker 2: And that's the coolest thing I've ever heard. Yeah.
[14:09] Speaker 1: So I'm going to talk housewives when we come back.
[14:28] Speaker 2: We're back. Okay.
[14:30] Speaker 1: We are here. Also, by the way, do you, you
[14:32] Speaker 1: still go by Ashley? I, right?
[14:34] Speaker 2: Yeah. I will always go by Ashley. I sentimentally attached.
[14:38] Speaker 1: Ashley Haven.
[14:40] Speaker 2: Not really. Like sometimes, like if I'm doing something hosting
[14:44] Speaker 2: alongside Jared or we're like in something together, school stuff
[14:49] Speaker 2: for the kids, I'll do Ashley. I can Eddie Haven,
[14:53] Speaker 2: but I never legally changed it.
[14:55] Speaker 1: It's a pain in the ass. You did recently, right?
[14:58] Speaker 1: I did.
[14:59] Speaker 2: Yeah. Your contact info on my phone just changed. I know.
[15:04] Speaker 1: Like, is that aggressive that everybody has this like gnarly
[15:06] Speaker 1: picture of me in like a blue suit?
[15:07] Speaker 2: I love it. I was changing it.
[15:11] Speaker 1: And Robbie was like, maybe make it like professional, you know?
[15:13] Speaker 1: And I was like, but I'm like, yes, I have
[15:16] Speaker 1: a job, but like my job isn't so professional.
[15:19] Speaker 2: No, the blue suit's great. It's a suit and it's bright. Yeah. Yeah.
[15:23] Speaker 2: I feel like I have the same one. It's a
[15:24] Speaker 2: house with CB. You and you're my house with CB sister.
[15:27] Speaker 1: Yeah. Um, no, but like I change it now. My
[15:29] Speaker 1: TSA pre-check doesn't work. So I have to like go
[15:32] Speaker 1: like figure it all out.
[15:34] Speaker 2: I'm not going to do it, but it's very sweet
[15:36] Speaker 2: and traditional of you to do it. Like I would
[15:38] Speaker 2: like to do it, but I don't want to go
[15:41] Speaker 2: through all of that.
[15:42] Speaker 1: I wouldn't have done it if I really wanted to
[15:44] Speaker 1: make rad my middle name and you can't, you can't
[15:47] Speaker 1: do that. You just can't do that unless you go
[15:51] Speaker 1: through the whole process. I was like, if I'm going
[15:52] Speaker 1: to go through the whole process, I'm going to do
[15:53] Speaker 1: the whole shebang.
[15:55] Speaker 2: Did you drop your actual middle name? What is your
[15:57] Speaker 2: actual middle name?
[15:58] Speaker 1: I never had a middle name.
[15:59] Speaker 2: Oh, you never had one.
[16:00] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[16:01] Speaker 2: I don't want to drop Nicole.
[16:02] Speaker 1: Who calls you Ashley Nicole?
[16:06] Speaker 2: I don't know. I just like Ashley Nicole like an Eddie.
[16:08] Speaker 2: That's like just together.
[16:09] Speaker 1: You know what?
[16:10] Speaker 2: You do you.
[16:11] Speaker 1: But like, yeah, it was... such a long process. And like, still,
[16:15] Speaker 1: I feel like I finally finished it. Like I did everything,
[16:17] Speaker 1: like my credit cards, my bank, my health insurance, everything.
[16:21] Speaker 1: And then TSA pre-check, I keep getting like smacked with like, no,
[16:24] Speaker 1: you don't have it. I'm like, I did all this,
[16:26] Speaker 1: but okay. Anyways. So real housewives of Rhode Island, we
[16:30] Speaker 1: all watched you on the bachelor and you were like
[16:33] Speaker 1: bachelor darling. Now you're a real housewife, which is like
[16:37] Speaker 1: a whole other Like it literally is a whole other world.
[16:42] Speaker 2: That was the percentage.
[16:43] Speaker 1: Your first season, were you happy with how you came across?
[16:48] Speaker 2: Yeah. I told everybody, like the producers and such, I
[16:52] Speaker 2: was like, thank you for like actually showing my real self.
[16:56] Speaker 2: Like I'm like, I didn't have a huge role, which
[16:59] Speaker 2: was fine by me. But I was glad that what
[17:03] Speaker 2: was shown was very authentic to myself and how I
[17:08] Speaker 2: thought things went down.
[17:09] Speaker 1: What did you learn about yourself, like, watching season one back?
[17:14] Speaker 2: It wasn't so much watching it back. It was being
[17:17] Speaker 2: in it. And that is that, like, I... I don't
[17:21] Speaker 2: know if I'm... Am I so non-confrontational? Or am I
[17:27] Speaker 2: surrounded by very confrontational people? Like, I just... I'm not
[17:31] Speaker 2: highly bothered. Does that make sense? Yeah.
[17:34] Speaker 1: It takes a lot to rattle you.
[17:35] Speaker 2: Yeah. Like, it... I'm not, I'm sensitive in the way
[17:40] Speaker 2: that like I cry easily and like I am more empathic,
[17:44] Speaker 2: but I am not very sensitive to what other people
[17:48] Speaker 2: like say about me. I am sensitive when it comes
[17:52] Speaker 2: to like affecting like my family.
[17:56] Speaker 1: Did that, did you, did other people's opinions about your
[18:00] Speaker 1: family bother you?
[18:02] Speaker 2: No, but I think that like, I mean, not in
[18:05] Speaker 2: season one or anything, but I think that I'm more
[18:09] Speaker 2: defensive when it comes to that stuff.
[18:11] Speaker 1: Right.
[18:11] Speaker 2: And when it's just about me, I can like laugh
[18:15] Speaker 2: at myself pretty easily.
[18:17] Speaker 1: But when it comes to anything about your family, you're like, no, no.
[18:21] Speaker 2: Yeah. It's like we have kids now, you know, we're
[18:23] Speaker 2: not just like this bachelor, like ha ha reality couple.
[18:26] Speaker 1: Yeah. So you liked your experience this round?
[18:30] Speaker 2: The experience itself of filming, I found to be far
[18:36] Speaker 2: more challenging than Bachelor. There are two, there's Bachelor, you
[18:40] Speaker 2: are like submerged in a whole different world and you
[18:44] Speaker 2: like leave your regular world and you submerge yourself into
[18:47] Speaker 2: another world. And it's kind of like separate entities with Housewives.
[18:52] Speaker 2: It's documenting your life But I still was able to
[18:57] Speaker 2: separate during season one my filming life and my real life.
[19:01] Speaker 2: I don't know. This is so weird to describe, Tanya.
[19:05] Speaker 2: Because I was so much more... emotional in bachelor world
[19:10] Speaker 2: because like love is at stake and because like i'm
[19:13] Speaker 2: such a hopeless romantic and because i felt like jared
[19:16] Speaker 2: was the one and obviously you and i relate strongly
[19:19] Speaker 2: on that feeling of knowing that somebody is the one
[19:22] Speaker 2: and like things may not be like going in the
[19:25] Speaker 2: direction of you two being together but then like you
[19:27] Speaker 2: know it's supposed to happen i.
[19:30] Speaker 1: Still get dms about that by the way Yeah. Me too.
[19:33] Speaker 2: I get DMs all the time about, like, how do
[19:36] Speaker 2: you manifest this? Like, how do I get out of
[19:38] Speaker 2: the friend zone?
[19:38] Speaker 1: How did you hold on when, like, you guys were
[19:41] Speaker 1: broken up, not together? I'm like, I just knew he
[19:44] Speaker 1: was it. Like, I don't know what to say.
[19:46] Speaker 2: Like, I know. And then I always try to tell
[19:49] Speaker 2: people that like you and I are kind of the
[19:51] Speaker 2: exception to the rule. Like usually if some guy is
[19:54] Speaker 2: saying like, I can't right now, it usually means.
[19:57] Speaker 1: Like he can't. No, I'm like, and I'm probably the worst.
[20:01] Speaker 1: So I'm giving like the worst advice because someone's like,
[20:04] Speaker 1: my boyfriend just broke up with me. Like, how do
[20:06] Speaker 1: I move on? I'm like, why do you have to
[20:07] Speaker 1: move on? Like, if you think he's your guy, like.
[20:12] Speaker 1: I'm like, I didn't do that. Like I, Robbie and
[20:15] Speaker 1: I broke up and I was still like, this is
[20:16] Speaker 1: my guy. Like, I just know he's the one for me.
[20:19] Speaker 1: So I'm just gonna like do my thing until he
[20:22] Speaker 1: comes crawling back.
[20:24] Speaker 2: I tried to mentally like, I guess I tried to
[20:28] Speaker 2: mentally detach from Jared in, in chapters. What I would
[20:32] Speaker 2: do would be like, oh, okay. So it's not going
[20:35] Speaker 2: to happen this month. So I'll be chill this month.
[20:37] Speaker 2: And then we'll like start fresh again. Some other point.
[20:41] Speaker 2: Like I was always going into a reboot. Like I
[20:44] Speaker 2: was like, okay, not now. All right. Take a beat.
[20:47] Speaker 2: And then we'll go back into it in a little while. Right.
[20:49] Speaker 2: So I would able to detach and attach, like detach
[20:52] Speaker 2: and attach, like throughout that whole saga. But to go
[20:57] Speaker 2: back to what Housewives is different than Bachelor is I
[21:01] Speaker 2: find Housewives to be more, it was more draining for
[21:08] Speaker 2: me because there was so much conflict. And I think
[21:12] Speaker 2: that on Bachelor, because it was love-oriented, it just felt
[21:17] Speaker 2: different sometimes.
[21:19] Speaker 1: Yeah. I will say, I love you so much. You're
[21:23] Speaker 1: literally one of my favorite people and I will support
[21:25] Speaker 1: you till... the end of the earth and back. But
[21:29] Speaker 1: watching the real housewives was a struggle for me because
[21:32] Speaker 1: of that.
[21:32] Speaker 2: And like, there was just, because you were like feeling
[21:36] Speaker 2: yourself in my position.
[21:37] Speaker 1: I could feel like, I'm like, there's so much chaos
[21:41] Speaker 1: going around. I couldn't even keep up with the chaos
[21:44] Speaker 1: at some point. I'm like, what are they fighting about?
[21:47] Speaker 2: Like, what? I'm like, what? there are times where I
[21:52] Speaker 2: am like, I'm stupid. Am I dumb? Because I can't
[21:56] Speaker 2: figure out why we're all so angry right now.
[21:59] Speaker 1: Yes.
[22:00] Speaker 2: It's like, am I following the story and I'll find
[22:03] Speaker 2: myself like narrating and repeating and like, okay, so this
[22:07] Speaker 2: is it.
[22:07] Speaker 1: I'm like, yeah, but I felt like it was nice.
[22:13] Speaker 1: Cause I just feel like you were a little bit
[22:14] Speaker 1: of a breath of fresh air.
[22:15] Speaker 2: Oh, thanks. Yeah. Thank you so very much.
[22:18] Speaker 1: You're so welcome. Speaking of TV shows, do you watch
[22:21] Speaker 1: Love Island?
[22:23] Speaker 2: No. Because, you know, it feels too raunchy for me.
[22:27] Speaker 2: I know that you're obsessed. I know. How do you,
[22:30] Speaker 2: as such a clean, bubbly person, find yourself so obsessed
[22:35] Speaker 2: with the dirt that comes with Love Island?
[22:38] Speaker 1: Because at the end of the day, it's a show
[22:39] Speaker 1: about love, like you said.
[22:42] Speaker 2: Is it really? Does it feel lovey?
[22:45] Speaker 1: So, if you watch the UK, it does. The USA version,
[22:51] Speaker 1: not so much.
[22:53] Speaker 2: Okay.
[22:54] Speaker 1: But I just think I'm so in that like I
[22:57] Speaker 1: can't get off. You know what I mean? Like I'm
[23:00] Speaker 1: on the roller coaster and like I'm going to be
[23:02] Speaker 1: on it until it stops. But the reunion aired last
[23:06] Speaker 1: night and it was so hard to watch for several
[23:12] Speaker 1: different reasons. First of all, the season wrapped in like
[23:14] Speaker 1: June and it's now it aired August 31st. So it's
[23:19] Speaker 1: kind of like I forgot half of the stuff that
[23:21] Speaker 1: they like brought up.
[23:22] Speaker 2: I thought it was like live, though.
[23:24] Speaker 1: It wasn't. They filmed this like August 10th or something.
[23:27] Speaker 1: So it's been sitting on a shelf for like two weeks.
[23:32] Speaker 1: But yeah, it was like so bad. And then everything
[23:34] Speaker 1: was edited super, super tight. So I felt like I
[23:36] Speaker 1: was just like watching. It was like very like robotic.
[23:39] Speaker 1: And then they kept bringing stuff up that was like
[23:41] Speaker 1: not shown on the show. It was like stuff that
[23:43] Speaker 1: happened on social media after. And they weren't filling us
[23:46] Speaker 1: in on like what happened. So I found myself being like,
[23:48] Speaker 1: what are they even talking about? Oh, I know. It
[23:51] Speaker 1: was really disappointing as a fan. I'm so sorry. I'm sorry.
[23:54] Speaker 2: I wish I could talk to you about this. It's
[23:56] Speaker 2: a lot of content for me.
[23:58] Speaker 1: It's a lot of content.
[24:00] Speaker 2: And I will say that because I think I've been
[24:02] Speaker 2: on reality TV so much that watching reality TV is
[24:07] Speaker 2: often not relaxing for me. So I'm like very much
[24:11] Speaker 2: a scripted girl because that's where I can detach and like,
[24:15] Speaker 2: you know, live in a fantasy life.
[24:17] Speaker 1: Okay, so I find scripted TV show, like I have
[24:20] Speaker 1: to sit and focus and like watch the TV. Whereas
[24:22] Speaker 1: if I'm watching reality, I can like be on my phone.
[24:24] Speaker 1: I can be like doing my hair.
[24:26] Speaker 2: But that's what I want, Tanya.
[24:28] Speaker 1: Oh, you want to lock in. I want something where.
[24:29] Speaker 2: I put the phone down and yeah, like follow a story.
[24:33] Speaker 1: So what are you watching right now?
[24:36] Speaker 2: Really? Okay, the last one that I wrapped, and this
[24:40] Speaker 2: is how little I can watch TV right now with children,
[24:43] Speaker 2: was Cape Fear.
[24:46] Speaker 1: I haven't even heard of that. Cape Fear?
[24:50] Speaker 2: Cape Fear with Amy Adams and Javier Bardem. It was
[24:53] Speaker 2: on Apple.
[24:54] Speaker 1: Was it old?
[24:55] Speaker 2: Is it old, Mark? No, it just wrapped in the
[24:57] Speaker 2: middle of July.
[24:58] Speaker 1: There was an old movie back in the late 80s
[25:00] Speaker 1: and the 90s. Oh, I'm like, what is Ashley watching?
[25:03] Speaker 2: They made a series just recently, yeah. Okay, okay. And
[25:07] Speaker 2: then I just started last night. This is mom life, Tanya.
[25:11] Speaker 2: I know the boys, the stepboys, are a little bit
[25:14] Speaker 2: older now. but our boys go to bed way too late.
[25:17] Speaker 2: That's because I want them to sleep in. And I
[25:19] Speaker 2: will usually have like an hour to watch TV at
[25:21] Speaker 2: night and I'll watch like a movie in three parts.
[25:25] Speaker 2: So the other yesterday I started, this is how delayed
[25:28] Speaker 2: I am. I started watching that movie with Nick Robinson, uh,
[25:38] Speaker 2: voicemails from Isabel. Oh yeah.
[25:40] Speaker 1: I think, I think I'm too emotionally raw to watch that.
[25:43] Speaker 1: I've been told to like stay away. Okay. But you
[25:47] Speaker 1: watch it three different nights.
[25:49] Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah.
[25:50] Speaker 1: We do like now my step-sons, one of them still
[25:54] Speaker 1: likes to watch TV with us. One of them wants
[25:56] Speaker 1: nothing to do at night with us. Um, but we
[25:59] Speaker 1: still like, they still go to bed an hour before
[26:02] Speaker 1: we do. So we have like an hour note. to
[26:05] Speaker 1: watch at night at least. And then we have them 50%
[26:08] Speaker 1: of the time. So 50% of the time we can
[26:10] Speaker 1: watch however much we want.
[26:12] Speaker 2: See the weekends that you don't have them. Like I
[26:15] Speaker 2: imagine that you could just binge watch TV and I
[26:18] Speaker 2: haven't been able to do that for four and a
[26:19] Speaker 2: half years.
[26:20] Speaker 1: You know, I think about this too, because obviously like we're,
[26:22] Speaker 1: we're trying to have our own and I'm like, I can't,
[26:24] Speaker 1: it's so weird imagining having kids a hundred percent of
[26:27] Speaker 1: the time because we have them 50% of the time.
[26:30] Speaker 1: And it is, it's true. Like Robbie doesn't like to
[26:33] Speaker 1: make plans when we have the kids in terms of like,
[26:36] Speaker 1: he doesn't want to like go out to dinner with
[26:37] Speaker 1: friends when we have them, like get a babysitter because
[26:40] Speaker 1: we only have them 50%. Yeah. So when we have them,
[26:42] Speaker 1: we have them and we're home. And then when we
[26:44] Speaker 1: don't have them, that's when we make all of our
[26:46] Speaker 1: plans with like our friends. So like, we're like socializing
[26:49] Speaker 1: when we don't, we're doing all this stuff that, you know,
[26:51] Speaker 1: going out. So we really don't have that much time
[26:53] Speaker 1: to like sit and binge and just like do nothing
[26:56] Speaker 1: because like, We stack it on both sides.
[26:58] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[26:59] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[26:59] Speaker 2: Yeah. Totally. Yeah. Jared and I feel guilty because, you know,
[27:03] Speaker 2: when we have our nanny during the day until like
[27:06] Speaker 2: 930 to 530, then when we would feel so bad
[27:11] Speaker 2: to get a baby, we do feel bad. We do
[27:14] Speaker 2: it like once a month. But to have a babysitter
[27:16] Speaker 2: on a Saturday night or on a weekday night where
[27:19] Speaker 2: that extends our time not with them. Like we really
[27:22] Speaker 2: feel like outside of work hours, we should constantly be
[27:25] Speaker 2: with them. Yeah.
[27:26] Speaker 1: And like we'll do it if like there's a huge
[27:29] Speaker 1: like if there's a banquet that we need to go
[27:31] Speaker 1: to or like a friend's birthday. Like, you know, if
[27:34] Speaker 1: there's something like important, it's like that day and it's
[27:37] Speaker 1: a big thing, then we'll do it. But if it's
[27:39] Speaker 1: just like dinner with friends or like catching up with people,
[27:43] Speaker 1: we always do that on the days that we don't
[27:45] Speaker 1: have them.
[27:46] Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel you.
[27:47] Speaker 1: Yeah. Actually, speaking of kids, there are a couple of
[27:52] Speaker 1: things that you talked about that are like very hot
[27:54] Speaker 1: topics that I want to get into, but I want
[27:56] Speaker 1: to take a quick break. We're back.
[28:17] Speaker 2: We're back.
[28:18] Speaker 1: We're back, baby.
[28:18] Speaker 2: Okay.
[28:19] Speaker 1: So there are two things that you have recently talked. Well,
[28:21] Speaker 1: I don't know if recently, but think two things that
[28:23] Speaker 1: you've talked about that I feel like are very controversial. One,
[28:27] Speaker 1: one I agree with and when I absolutely don't agree with.
[28:31] Speaker 2: Okay.
[28:32] Speaker 1: So the first one is birthday parties for your kids
[28:34] Speaker 1: are a waste of money before they turn two.
[28:36] Speaker 2: Yeah. Okay. You don't agree with this.
[28:38] Speaker 1: Correct.
[28:39] Speaker 2: Yeah. This is definitely something I can see both sides of.
[28:44] Speaker 1: So walk me through your rationale.
[28:47] Speaker 2: Okay. So I just don't think that I think the
[28:52] Speaker 2: birthday party is for the, obviously the parent.
[28:55] Speaker 1: Yes, but you're the parent.
[28:57] Speaker 2: Yeah, but I don't need that. Like, I just don't
[29:01] Speaker 2: need all my friends to get together to, I don't know.
[29:04] Speaker 2: I think it just seems like such a hassle when
[29:08] Speaker 2: it's for the parent and it, cause I don't want it.
[29:10] Speaker 2: Like I don't want to put together, but that makes
[29:12] Speaker 2: me feel guilty because now you're saying like, you don't
[29:15] Speaker 2: want to celebrate your kid. No, it's like, I want
[29:17] Speaker 2: to celebrate my kid, but I want to celebrate them
[29:18] Speaker 2: doing what they would want to do, which is like
[29:21] Speaker 2: probably just going to like Chucky's instead of like going,
[29:25] Speaker 2: having like a zillion people over for, a zillion people
[29:29] Speaker 2: over with a house or like someplace that they wouldn't
[29:32] Speaker 2: actually care about going.
[29:33] Speaker 1: I mean, I do think there's like a middle ground.
[29:36] Speaker 2: There's so when Dawson was going to turn 30, he
[29:41] Speaker 2: said he like very much said i want a chucky
[29:43] Speaker 2: cheese birthday party and then we were like oh my
[29:46] Speaker 2: gosh of course i'll out have all the friends come
[29:49] Speaker 2: like our friends too and it was so much fun
[29:52] Speaker 2: and i loved it but we if for his second birthday,
[29:56] Speaker 2: you know, when they're barely speaking and when Hayden, you know,
[29:59] Speaker 2: still like not a lot of talking, we were like,
[30:02] Speaker 2: what do we do today? And we just like did
[30:04] Speaker 2: a family day where we went to the mall and
[30:06] Speaker 2: like they rode like the carousel and then like these
[30:10] Speaker 2: little motorcycles they have at the mall. And then we
[30:12] Speaker 2: went to a family dinner and then like we set
[30:15] Speaker 2: up Aladdin themed party stuff and had cupcakes with the family.
[30:20] Speaker 1: That's cute.
[30:21] Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, it's not like that I don't celebrate
[30:23] Speaker 2: the kid's birthday. It's just that I don't plan, I
[30:26] Speaker 2: didn't plan birthday parties for both of their second, first
[30:30] Speaker 2: and second birthdays.
[30:32] Speaker 1: Okay, I understood. I do feel like there's a little
[30:34] Speaker 1: bit of like a phenomenon right now where people just
[30:38] Speaker 1: like blow out the first birthday parties and they do
[30:41] Speaker 1: like a full thing, which I do feel like is
[30:44] Speaker 1: a waste of money. And I also feel like, and
[30:48] Speaker 1: you can tell me because I'm like, When you have
[30:52] Speaker 1: kids and you throw a party, do you invite your
[30:54] Speaker 1: friends that don't have kids?
[30:58] Speaker 2: Well, that's the thing. I think that if Jared and
[31:01] Speaker 2: I had more friends.
[31:04] Speaker 1: With kids.
[31:05] Speaker 2: When the kids were one and two, particularly Dawson, because
[31:08] Speaker 2: I feel like now with Hayden, we have kids. We
[31:11] Speaker 2: have more friends that have kids. But when Dawson was
[31:15] Speaker 2: turning one and two, it was like the kids... The
[31:20] Speaker 2: kids of our friends were, like, just not amongst the
[31:23] Speaker 2: same age group as him. Like, it wasn't like they
[31:26] Speaker 2: were going to get together and play at this party. Yeah.
[31:29] Speaker 2: It was like, yeah, it just didn't make any sense.
[31:33] Speaker 2: You were going to have a whole bunch of people
[31:34] Speaker 2: and a lot of them weren't going to have babies.
[31:36] Speaker 1: Right. Yeah.
[31:38] Speaker 2: It's like, hey, nine-year-old, do you want to come to
[31:40] Speaker 2: a baby's birthday party? Like, I don't know. No. Or, hey,
[31:44] Speaker 2: people who don't have kids, do you want to go
[31:46] Speaker 2: to a one-year-old's birthday party?
[31:48] Speaker 1: Like, no, I never want to go to a one-year-old's
[31:50] Speaker 1: birthday party unless it's like a family member. Like, I
[31:53] Speaker 1: just don't.
[31:54] Speaker 2: Exactly. So I think we're trying to save other people
[31:58] Speaker 2: from the hassle as well. Yeah.
[32:01] Speaker 1: The second thing that you were talking about was, and
[32:04] Speaker 1: this might be a little sensitive, I don't know, but
[32:07] Speaker 1: gender disappointment.
[32:08] Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. No, I mean, I don't care. We could
[32:11] Speaker 2: talk up the wazoo about this.
[32:12] Speaker 1: But I think it's like a very real thing because
[32:15] Speaker 1: I also had a friend that experienced this as well.
[32:19] Speaker 1: And I think that there's like, and this is why
[32:22] Speaker 1: I don't really talk so much about my fertility stuff
[32:25] Speaker 1: that's going on because I think that, people get so sensitive.
[32:30] Speaker 1: Like if I say I'm like, you know, I've been
[32:31] Speaker 1: trying for over a year and then somebody's like, well,
[32:34] Speaker 1: I've been trying for six years and I've been doing this.
[32:37] Speaker 1: And it's, there's so much of that, that it's like hard.
[32:42] Speaker 1: You don't want to say something wrong. That's going to
[32:44] Speaker 1: like upset somebody. Cause it's true. Like you talk about
[32:48] Speaker 1: gender disappointment, people are like, well, you should just be
[32:50] Speaker 1: happy that you have a healthy baby. I've been struggling
[32:52] Speaker 1: and dah, dah, dah. But it's like, that is like
[32:54] Speaker 1: a real emotion that people go through and people feel,
[32:57] Speaker 1: and there is space for all of those things.
[33:00] Speaker 2: Absolutely. That, um, it was like when I was, when
[33:05] Speaker 2: I had hyperemesis gravidarium with hate it with Dawson. So
[33:10] Speaker 2: I had the thing where I basically couldn't keep down
[33:14] Speaker 2: any water. So I was on my V for like
[33:16] Speaker 2: 16 weeks. So my first trimester with Dawson, and then
[33:19] Speaker 2: I was without Zofran. I could throw up like pretty
[33:24] Speaker 2: much every day. through 30 weeks. And I was on
[33:27] Speaker 2: Zofran for so many of the days and it was just,
[33:30] Speaker 2: you know, traumatic. It was honestly a traumatic pregnancy. I mean,
[33:37] Speaker 2: I also traumatic is a word that I don't want
[33:39] Speaker 2: to like throw around either, but it was like really,
[33:42] Speaker 2: really tough. Imagine having the stomach bug for 30 weeks.
[33:45] Speaker 2: You know what I mean? Yeah. So, um, when I
[33:50] Speaker 2: would talk about that, I was always kind of careful too,
[33:53] Speaker 2: because I didn't want to overdo it because then people
[33:55] Speaker 2: are like, I would kill to be pregnant and I'd
[33:58] Speaker 2: be throwing up every day. Like I'm okay. I would
[34:00] Speaker 2: take that to be pregnant. So I totally understand. There's
[34:04] Speaker 2: so much sensitivity talking about anything when it comes to fertility, pregnancy, postpartum.
[34:11] Speaker 1: And gender.
[34:12] Speaker 2: And gender. So, um, here's my take. And I mean,
[34:17] Speaker 2: I get messages all the time that say like, you're
[34:20] Speaker 2: going to try for the third. You guys need a girl.
[34:22] Speaker 2: You guys need a girl. So many people will tell
[34:23] Speaker 2: you like, you're not complete until you have a daughter. Really? Yeah.
[34:29] Speaker 2: Like a lot of people are like, you'll never, like
[34:30] Speaker 2: you won't understand or blah, blah, blah. And I'm like,
[34:33] Speaker 2: I am so perfectly content with having two boys. And
[34:39] Speaker 2: I actually didn't think I would be that way because...
[34:43] Speaker 2: especially when I found out that Dawson was a boy
[34:46] Speaker 2: because I always really wanted only two kids, but I
[34:49] Speaker 2: always wanted sisters too, because I came from a place
[34:53] Speaker 2: where I was, I am like a Siamese twin with
[34:57] Speaker 2: my sister. She's on FaceTime like five times a day. Um,
[35:02] Speaker 2: so when I found out that Dawson wasn't going to
[35:04] Speaker 2: be a girl, then I was like, Oh my gosh,
[35:07] Speaker 2: I'm like not going to have sisters. And that was
[35:10] Speaker 2: kind of like, Oh, And then all the daydreams of
[35:16] Speaker 2: me going to American Girl doll and playing dress up
[35:20] Speaker 2: and taking her to boy band concerts the way that
[35:23] Speaker 2: my mom took us was like out the window. So
[35:27] Speaker 2: I felt that more before I had, when I found
[35:31] Speaker 2: out Dawson, the first was a boy. And then when
[35:35] Speaker 2: I found out Hayden was a boy after coming to
[35:38] Speaker 2: know what it was like having a boy, and how
[35:41] Speaker 2: absolutely angelic he is and how much they're obsessed with
[35:45] Speaker 2: their moms and just like how fulfilling it is to
[35:48] Speaker 2: have a boy. I was a lot less disappointed when
[35:51] Speaker 2: I found out that Hayden was going to be a boy.
[35:53] Speaker 2: I didn't really care so much there. I had like
[35:56] Speaker 2: a moment. I mean, when I mean a moment, it
[35:57] Speaker 2: was like 10 minutes of being like, wow, I'm just
[36:00] Speaker 2: never going to be a mom to a girl. That's
[36:03] Speaker 2: so crazy because you imagine it your whole life.
[36:05] Speaker 1: Yeah, your whole life.
[36:08] Speaker 2: And it's, like, fun. It's, like, sad. It's sad, honestly,
[36:11] Speaker 2: because there's barely ever any gender disappointment when it comes
[36:15] Speaker 2: to girls. Like, because the mom always wants a girl, right? Yeah.
[36:19] Speaker 2: It's the dads that, like, feel like sometimes they need
[36:22] Speaker 2: a boy. Right. But male gender disappointment, dad gender disappointment
[36:27] Speaker 2: is never talked about.
[36:29] Speaker 1: You're so right, actually, now that I think about it.
[36:32] Speaker 1: It is interesting, though, like, seeing, like.
[36:38] Speaker 1: From a different perspective, because my stepkids are a little
[36:40] Speaker 1: bit older, like they're so chill, like the boys, you know,
[36:46] Speaker 1: like they're not in that rambunctious phase. Like they're just
[36:48] Speaker 1: like chill. And I see the girls and they're great.
[36:51] Speaker 1: And like, they're going to like Starbucks and Sephora. And
[36:54] Speaker 1: I'm just like, oh my gosh, that would, that would
[36:57] Speaker 1: like send me.
[37:00] Speaker 2: It swaps for sure. Because if you talk to anybody
[37:03] Speaker 2: who has like a preteen girl, they look at you
[37:06] Speaker 2: with boys and they're like, wow, you guys are going to,
[37:09] Speaker 2: you're having your hard era now and then you're going
[37:11] Speaker 2: to be happy later. I was never like that girl though.
[37:17] Speaker 2: You know, I was never a girl that was very
[37:19] Speaker 2: susceptible to peer pressure or whatnot. So I, I wonder
[37:24] Speaker 2: how our kid would turn out. I mean, it's normal
[37:27] Speaker 2: to be the girl of today for sure. Yeah.
[37:31] Speaker 1: But honestly, you also never know. Like you're young.
[37:35] Speaker 2: I'm, oh, Tanya.
[37:37] Speaker 1: I know, but I'm just saying, I'm just saying right
[37:38] Speaker 1: now you're done. Right now you're done. But like you
[37:41] Speaker 1: might in like five years be like, let's just.
[37:45] Speaker 2: Five years. I would never start fresh in five years.
[37:48] Speaker 1: You never know. I have friends. I have friends that
[37:51] Speaker 1: their kids are in their teens and they want another.
[37:56] Speaker 2: Wow. What do you care about having a girl or
[38:00] Speaker 2: a boy? If you had, I mean, you have step boys,
[38:02] Speaker 2: I would assume. Yeah, I know.
[38:05] Speaker 1: I try not to like, I try. I'm just like,
[38:09] Speaker 1: especially with where I'm at. I'm like, just give me
[38:11] Speaker 1: a healthy child. Um, but because we do have two,
[38:15] Speaker 1: I have two step sons. I do think like a girl,
[38:19] Speaker 1: you know, but then I'm like, I love my step sons.
[38:23] Speaker 1: So yeah. boy would be cool too.
[38:28] Speaker 2: When we got the results for the second Hayden, I
[38:32] Speaker 2: was so much more like concerned about health. It's so crazy.
[38:37] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[38:37] Speaker 2: Like, yeah, you're just like, let's literally get the test
[38:40] Speaker 2: to come back. Good.
[38:41] Speaker 1: That's literally all I want is just like happy, healthy baby.
[38:44] Speaker 1: But then I also do like, I fantasize, fantasize about
[38:47] Speaker 1: Robbie with like a little girl too. Cause he, even
[38:49] Speaker 1: though he's like such a good No. And he's such
[38:51] Speaker 1: a good boy dad, but.
[38:53] Speaker 2: Like he is, I can see him as.
[38:56] Speaker 1: A girl dad at heart. Like he, he has everything
[38:59] Speaker 1: in him like to be a girl dad.
[39:01] Speaker 2: So Tanya, exactly the way I feel about Jared. Cause
[39:05] Speaker 2: I feel like Jared and Robbie are very similar. They
[39:08] Speaker 2: got similar vibes. And if I were to ever try
[39:12] Speaker 2: for another child, like I would want him to have
[39:15] Speaker 2: a girl like that's the I don't even care about myself, really.
[39:18] Speaker 2: I want him to be the girl. Right. Oh, my God. Right.
[39:21] Speaker 1: Like I'm happy with either. And I know he is, too.
[39:24] Speaker 1: But I'm like, I just want to I want to
[39:27] Speaker 1: see that Cause he's such a good dad. Like I
[39:29] Speaker 1: want to see it. Like just the thought of him
[39:31] Speaker 1: taking like a little girl to ballet class. Like I,
[39:34] Speaker 1: I can't emotional. Yeah. It'll make me cry. So I'm
[39:37] Speaker 1: going to move on from that so that I don't cry.
[39:39] Speaker 1: I want to just like a little bit of your
[39:43] Speaker 1: opinion on some of the stories that came out this week.
[39:46] Speaker 2: Sure.
[39:47] Speaker 1: Billie Eilish officiates Phineas and his wife's wedding.
[39:51] Speaker 2: I mean, cute. Didn't you officiate a wedding? Yes, I did.
[39:55] Speaker 1: Do you recommend?
[39:56] Speaker 2: It was three years ago. I was stressed for months
[40:00] Speaker 2: about writing the ceremony and I'm really glad I did it.
[40:06] Speaker 2: And it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be.
[40:08] Speaker 2: And it was cool.
[40:09] Speaker 1: But I feel like you don't get to enjoy as much.
[40:11] Speaker 1: Like you're stressed.
[40:14] Speaker 2: Um, No, it's like super special. You are stressed until
[40:18] Speaker 2: it's written. And once it's written, then you can kind
[40:21] Speaker 2: of chill. Cause like, I think the whole thing is
[40:23] Speaker 2: cause like, think about it, like the, the, the ceremony
[40:27] Speaker 2: and then you get to relax.
[40:29] Speaker 1: I know, but it's just like so high stress. Like
[40:31] Speaker 1: you can't have fun, like at the rehearsal dinner because
[40:34] Speaker 1: you have to like perform the next day.
[40:36] Speaker 2: Yeah, there is that, you know what I mean? I would, Yeah,
[40:39] Speaker 2: and you are like, this is the biggest moment of
[40:42] Speaker 2: these people's lives, and they are just giving you that
[40:45] Speaker 2: responsibility to make it as sentimental and romantic and storytelling
[40:52] Speaker 2: as possible. I think I did a good job with it,
[40:55] Speaker 2: but that weight is on your shoulders. It was a friend.
[41:00] Speaker 2: It wasn't like a best friend. Yeah, so that makes
[41:05] Speaker 2: it better, but.
[41:07] Speaker 2: That makes it better as far as like the enjoyment
[41:09] Speaker 2: of the weekend goes.
[41:10] Speaker 1: I'm trying to throw Robbie's name in the hat for
[41:13] Speaker 1: Becca and Haley's wedding for him to officiate. But then
[41:18] Speaker 1: I'm like, I don't know. I don't want to put that.
[41:20] Speaker 2: I feel like that's on. You're going to be like
[41:24] Speaker 2: the best girl speech. You're going to be like the
[41:26] Speaker 2: bridesmaid speech. But I feel like why Robbie and not
[41:30] Speaker 2: you if we're going to go that route?
[41:32] Speaker 1: Because I do think that they want a man to
[41:35] Speaker 1: cut up the.
[41:37] Speaker 2: Oh, okay.
[41:37] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[41:39] Speaker 2: Okay. Any others? Any others that are up for debate there?
[41:44] Speaker 1: There is one other. I just don't know if she's
[41:46] Speaker 1: like said it. So I don't want to like speak
[41:48] Speaker 1: on her behalf.
[41:50] Speaker 2: Mark and Easton.
[41:53] Speaker 1: I don't know if she said it or not. I
[41:54] Speaker 1: don't think she cares, but I don't know.
[41:56] Speaker 2: Okay.
[41:57] Speaker 1: Okay. But yeah, he, Robbie, she's thrown out Robbie's name. Okay.
[42:02] Speaker 1: I'm like, he's an officiator. But I'm like, I don't know. Like,
[42:08] Speaker 1: I'm like, I keep thinking if it's not going to
[42:11] Speaker 1: let him enjoy the wedding as much because he has
[42:14] Speaker 1: to be like on or I don't know if he
[42:17] Speaker 1: internalizes things as much as I do. You know what
[42:19] Speaker 1: I mean? Like, I think Robbie can handle like high
[42:21] Speaker 1: pressure situations and just like execute.
[42:24] Speaker 2: That is like what I love about our husbands too,
[42:28] Speaker 2: is they're just able to speak from the heart so eloquently.
[42:31] Speaker 2: And I am a fangirl about it. Like whenever it
[42:33] Speaker 2: comes to like me explaining my heart, I'm like.
[42:36] Speaker 1: And then, and like, and then like, he just has words.
[42:47] Speaker 2: He has pose. He has poetry.
[42:50] Speaker 1: When I tell you, when we give up, when we
[42:52] Speaker 1: stand up at Thanksgiving to give a speech to our
[42:56] Speaker 1: guests or whatever, I sound like such a donk. And
[43:00] Speaker 1: Robbie stands up and is just like, he crushes it.
[43:03] Speaker 1: And I'm just like, you know what? You just get
[43:05] Speaker 1: up and speak for the both of us. I'm done
[43:07] Speaker 1: splitting this.
[43:09] Speaker 2: Same. I'm like... You are so eloquent. It's a quality
[43:14] Speaker 2: that I'm so glad I married into. It is.
[43:17] Speaker 1: It's very nice. But I always feel bad on my birthday.
[43:20] Speaker 1: His speech is always just so good. And I stand
[43:23] Speaker 1: up and I cry. There's this video of me giving
[43:26] Speaker 1: a speech on one of his birthdays. And I'm just sobbing,
[43:29] Speaker 1: bawling my eyes out. I'm like, he would never.
[43:37] Speaker 2: No, this is why you and I are the same
[43:39] Speaker 2: person in so many ways. It's like people know that
[43:41] Speaker 2: it's from the heart and it's endearing and such, but
[43:44] Speaker 2: it's just like, we're just going to cry through like
[43:47] Speaker 2: a whole bunch of explanations of our feelings.
[43:51] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[43:53] Speaker 2: Chumbled, but cute. Yeah.
[43:55] Speaker 1: And it's like nice to have that person like speak
[43:58] Speaker 1: for us, like with school things and like, you know
[44:00] Speaker 1: what I mean? Yeah.
[44:01] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[44:06] Speaker 1: Maybe I'll get there someday. I'm just like too emotional.
[44:11] Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree. Maybe I'll get better with age.
[44:14] Speaker 1: Yeah. Never know. It's never too late. I love you
[44:20] Speaker 1: so much. And I just wanted to thank you again
[44:21] Speaker 1: for taking the time to scrub in because I just
[44:24] Speaker 1: I love you. And I just like needed a light.
[44:26] Speaker 1: A light laugh, a lighthearted laugh today.
[44:29] Speaker 2: Thanks. I'm so glad I could be of service. And
[44:33] Speaker 2: I also think it's great that if we take it
[44:37] Speaker 2: back to the roots, this podcast was founded on Grey's Anatomy.
[44:43] Speaker 2: And it was something that you watched a very similar
[44:47] Speaker 2: time as I. We took it up together, kind of. Yeah.
[44:52] Speaker 2: And then, you know, I rewatched it while I was
[44:54] Speaker 2: pregnant and sick with Dawson. And I, um, I got,
[44:59] Speaker 2: I got through a lot of hard days watching about
[45:01] Speaker 2: nine episodes with my mom per day. I, okay.
[45:04] Speaker 1: So I really want to watch, I think they just
[45:06] Speaker 1: put it on Hulu. I think it just moved over
[45:09] Speaker 1: to Hulu. It's like newly on some streaming device because
[45:12] Speaker 1: it's been popping up in my Instagram, like some of
[45:14] Speaker 1: the like old clips. And I'm like the old first,
[45:18] Speaker 1: like six seasons were such magic. I want to watch
[45:22] Speaker 1: those with Robbie so bad. But he's not like a
[45:26] Speaker 1: medical show guy.
[45:27] Speaker 2: It just hits different. It's so amazing. I'm telling you,
[45:34] Speaker 2: because I watched it for the first time through Becca
[45:36] Speaker 2: in 2005. 15, 16. And then like, because I, it
[45:47] Speaker 2: was actually so long, it was like seven years later,
[45:50] Speaker 2: six years later, I got pregnant with Dawson and then
[45:53] Speaker 2: I rewatched it and it completely like Would take me
[45:57] Speaker 2: out of the nausea that I was experiencing because I
[46:00] Speaker 2: got so wrapped up in the storyline again. And it
[46:02] Speaker 2: was comfortable because I had already known the characters. Yeah.
[46:05] Speaker 2: But I forgot the detailed storylines. And that's what I'm saying.
[46:06] Speaker 1: I feel like it's been so long since I've watched it. Yeah.
[46:09] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[46:10] Speaker 1: Maybe I'll do that. Feels like a good thing to.
[46:15] Speaker 2: Or maybe you wait until you're pregnant.
[46:18] Speaker 1: Oh, and do it then? Yeah. Yeah. It feels dark though,
[46:22] Speaker 1: because I feel like some of those, some of those
[46:24] Speaker 1: episodes when like they like lose people, I get really emotional.
[46:28] Speaker 2: Yeah, I know.
[46:29] Speaker 1: I'm kind of in this phase of life right now
[46:31] Speaker 1: because I'm so emotionally unstable that like I cannot watch
[46:35] Speaker 1: anything that's going to like send me. So I'm watching again,
[46:38] Speaker 1: like Love Island is not going to send me down
[46:41] Speaker 1: like a dark spiral. I'm watching a lot of, food network,
[46:44] Speaker 1: like chopped and barbecue brawl. Cause that's like light.
[46:48] Speaker 2: I just want to go eat now. Yeah.
[46:50] Speaker 1: Like I try and just watch things that are like very,
[46:52] Speaker 1: just like light, funny. I can't do the hard stuff
[46:54] Speaker 1: right now.
[46:55] Speaker 2: That's like, I don't watch that. What's that? Sorry. I
[46:58] Speaker 2: know we're wrapping this up, but what's that HBO show
[47:00] Speaker 2: where everybody loves the medical one, the pit, the pit. Like,
[47:04] Speaker 2: I don't think I can watch the pit now that
[47:05] Speaker 2: I'm a mom.
[47:06] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[47:07] Speaker 2: Yeah. No, I can't do that stuff. That's not relaxing.
[47:11] Speaker 2: That's not going to I'm not going to put that
[47:12] Speaker 2: on for my hour of TV time and be like, oh, yeah,
[47:14] Speaker 2: let's unwind to like a child in the ER.
[47:17] Speaker 1: Yeah. Like, did you ever watch Adolescence? That was like
[47:20] Speaker 1: a huge show. And Robbie was like, I just can't
[47:23] Speaker 1: like I was like a 12 year old boy. And
[47:25] Speaker 1: like he was just like, I can't I can't watch it.
[47:27] Speaker 1: I'm like, no, no, no, no. I need like light
[47:31] Speaker 1: and breezy right now.
[47:34] Speaker 2: You were talking about how you had me on because
[47:36] Speaker 2: I'm light and breezy. And then we were like, yeah,
[47:38] Speaker 2: medical dramas about death. Let's wrap it like this.
[47:44] Speaker 1: Oh my gosh. I love you so, so much.
[47:46] Speaker 2: I love you so, so much.
[47:48] Speaker 1: Is there anything that we can tell everybody if they
[47:51] Speaker 1: want to listen to more of Ashley? You can listen
[47:54] Speaker 1: to the Almost Famous podcast.
[47:56] Speaker 2: Gotta listen to the Almost Famous podcast. We talk about
[47:58] Speaker 2: a lot of things on there, not just Bachelor stuff,
