[0:30] Speaker 2: their success on Money Making Conversations Masterclass. Hi, I'm Rashan

[1:00] Speaker 1: guest is a prominent financial advisor recognized by Forbes as
[1:03] Speaker 1: one of the America's top financial security professionals for three
[1:07] Speaker 1: consecutive years. He's a friend of mine. You know why
[1:10] Speaker 1: he's a friend because he's back on my show. He's
[1:12] Speaker 1: called the Financial Quarterback. Please work with the Money Making
[1:14] Speaker 1: Conversations Master Class, Josh Jalinski, Josh, how you doing, my friend?
[1:18] Speaker 3: Great, Rashwan, thanks for having me again.
[1:21] Speaker 1: Let's get out the way. Financial Quarterback. Why is that
[1:24] Speaker 1: the name of your.
[1:24] Speaker 3: Show, Well, it's the name of my radio show. We
[1:28] Speaker 3: started a radio show in oh eight after a lot
[1:31] Speaker 3: of people were losing forty percent of their money and
[1:35] Speaker 3: they're four to one k due to the crisis, the
[1:38] Speaker 3: financial crisis, and I came up with the with the
[1:41] Speaker 3: Moniker trademark. Actually in college, right, I always was into finance.
[1:47] Speaker 3: It was kind of like Alex P. Keaton, Michael J. Fox,
[1:51] Speaker 3: his character on Family Ties, that was very much into money.
[1:56] Speaker 3: I would look at stocks. I got my first stock
[1:59] Speaker 3: when I was ten. It was one share. It wasn't
[2:02] Speaker 3: you know, one share of the bank my father worked for.
[2:05] Speaker 3: So I would look every day and open up the newspaper.
[2:08] Speaker 3: And the stock didn't do much. It stayed at ten
[2:11] Speaker 3: bucks forever ten bucks a share. But that gave me
[2:15] Speaker 3: a passion for finance. And then when I was in college,
[2:18] Speaker 3: I said, you know what, when I start my own company.
[2:21] Speaker 3: I'm going to be the financial quarterback because I love
[2:25] Speaker 3: the idea. So many people want a stockbroker, or they
[2:29] Speaker 3: go to an insurance person for their advice, but they
[2:32] Speaker 3: don't have one person. You're the owner of your financial team.
[2:37] Speaker 3: Nobody else owns your team, but that one player that
[2:41] Speaker 3: makes sure that all of the other players on your
[2:45] Speaker 3: offense are working for you.
[2:46] Speaker 4: You have a CPA, you have.
[2:48] Speaker 3: An insurance broker, you have a real estate broker, you
[2:51] Speaker 3: have a banker, you have a stockbroker, or you maybe
[2:54] Speaker 3: don't have these things. But what I find is all
[2:57] Speaker 3: of these people work for themselves. They don't necessarily work
[3:02] Speaker 3: for you, the owner of the team. So I created
[3:05] Speaker 3: that Financial Quarterback trademark with the idea of having one
[3:10] Speaker 3: point of contact, almost like a personal CFO, a macro
[3:14] Speaker 3: money manager, where you could see all.
[3:17] Speaker 4: Of your strategies do they work together?
[3:19] Speaker 3: Because many times people listen to financial shows and they
[3:22] Speaker 3: get ten different opinions from ten different people, and I
[3:26] Speaker 3: wanted to solve that with the Financial Quarterback. Well, Manna,
[3:29] Speaker 3: thank you.
[3:29] Speaker 1: I think that's important that people hear your point of
[3:32] Speaker 1: view as we go through the show and understand where
[3:34] Speaker 1: did that come from the roots of it, and it
[3:37] Speaker 1: gives an authenticity. And I appreciate you telling us that.
[3:40] Speaker 1: You know, we just wrapped up an election, and during
[3:43] Speaker 1: the election you always find out where people feel the
[3:46] Speaker 1: voters are at because they always talk about the voters.
[3:48] Speaker 1: They always talk about we're going to tax the rich,
[3:50] Speaker 1: the super rich, and then they always bring up the
[3:52] Speaker 1: middle class, the middle class. And for those of you
[3:55] Speaker 1: who don't know what the middle class, I looked it
[3:56] Speaker 1: up the Sisters data saying middle class. That means if
[3:59] Speaker 1: you earn me between fifty thousand and one hundred and
[4:01] Speaker 1: fifty thousand dollars a year, you are considered middle class.
[4:05] Speaker 1: It's pretty that's a straightforward answer. Now, with Trump being
[4:08] Speaker 1: elected and our new president, from your perspective the Financial quarterback,
[4:14] Speaker 1: what can we expect or give us a sense of
[4:18] Speaker 1: middle class opportunities he may present for people in the
[4:21] Speaker 1: middle class range, because that's what everybody wanted from a
[4:24] Speaker 1: voting perspective.
[4:26] Speaker 3: I think I'm most excited since it's in the news
[4:30] Speaker 3: this week about this doge A lot of people think
[4:34] Speaker 3: it's a joke, the Department of Government Efficiency, that doge coin,
[4:39] Speaker 3: that Elon Musk, you know, It's like with the cute
[4:42] Speaker 3: little dog. But if they can cut two trillion of waste, fraud,
[4:49] Speaker 3: and abuse, I'd be so excited for that. I think
[4:52] Speaker 3: that would be the best thing the Manhattan Project. That's
[4:54] Speaker 3: what they're saying they're going to do. You know, I'll
[4:57] Speaker 3: hold my breath. I won't hold my breath, but I'm
[5:01] Speaker 3: very excited about that because if they get that done,
[5:05] Speaker 3: what that can do for us is kind of get
[5:07] Speaker 3: inflation cooled, maybe get people believing that America is going
[5:11] Speaker 3: to get their debt under control. Right. But so there's
[5:15] Speaker 3: the doge thing, That's what I'm most excited about. But
[5:19] Speaker 3: then there's what I call the middle class gimmes. Everybody
[5:22] Speaker 3: wants a piece of the pie. Everybody wants free. Kamalo
[5:26] Speaker 3: talked about the fifty K small business benefit. Right, Trump
[5:32] Speaker 3: talks about no tax on tips. Everybody has their own
[5:35] Speaker 3: little one thing is hook to get them.
[5:38] Speaker 4: Who's gonna pay for these things?
[5:40] Speaker 3: Right? You know, I don't care left, right, Democrat, Republican.
[5:46] Speaker 3: We are all paying for these promises. Friends, any government program,
[5:53] Speaker 3: we pay for it indirectly with inflation. Because when the
[5:58] Speaker 3: government pays for two much of things, everybody wants their
[6:01] Speaker 3: own little pet gimmes. People want prescription drugs, people want medicare,
[6:06] Speaker 3: people want, you know, all these programs that people benefit
[6:09] Speaker 3: from and some people don't benefit from. But it's all
[6:14] Speaker 3: going to come out of our pocket indirectly in the
[6:16] Speaker 3: form of either higher taxes or our dollars are going
[6:19] Speaker 3: to be worth less. So I want to see these things.
[6:22] Speaker 3: If he gives a middle class tax cut, which he
[6:25] Speaker 3: probably will, he'll probably maintain the Trump tax cuts, like
[6:29] Speaker 3: what has he said he's going to do. He's going
[6:31] Speaker 3: to extend the Trump tax cuts. He said, also the
[6:35] Speaker 3: salt deduction. If you're in a blue state like I
[6:38] Speaker 3: live in New Jersey, get well, Georgia, you're a little
[6:43] Speaker 3: bit better because it's predominantly red states. You're not hammered
[6:46] Speaker 3: as much as we are on property taxes and state
[6:50] Speaker 3: income taxes. But there might be a salt work around
[6:53] Speaker 3: in Georgia.
[6:54] Speaker 4: I gotta check on that.
[6:55] Speaker 3: But the salt workarounds were passed by blue states in
[6:59] Speaker 3: light of the first Trump tax cut to allow you
[7:03] Speaker 3: a little bit of a benefit for the high property
[7:06] Speaker 3: taxes you pay or high stating gum tax. But Trump
[7:09] Speaker 3: has said he will remove this is a big one.
[7:12] Speaker 3: He will remove the salt cap and I think he'll
[7:16] Speaker 3: do that because a lot of people hate that. They
[7:20] Speaker 3: so what the Trump tax cut did, And make no mistake,
[7:24] Speaker 3: this was not Trump's tax cut. This was Paul Ryan's.
[7:29] Speaker 4: Tax cut, right.
[7:30] Speaker 3: Paul Ryan was the architect of this with a guy
[7:34] Speaker 3: named Brady, Congressman Brady out of Texas, the chairman of
[7:38] Speaker 3: the House Ways and Means Committee. This was their architected plan.
[7:42] Speaker 3: So it appears by who Trump's picking early on, you know,
[7:48] Speaker 3: he's kind of building his coalition. This is going to
[7:51] Speaker 3: be more of Trump's four years, where the first four
[7:56] Speaker 3: years I'd said the first two years were really Paul
[7:58] Speaker 3: Ryan was very in flace lunch and the Trump tax cuts.
[8:01] Speaker 3: So I think you'll get no tax on tips. I
[8:03] Speaker 3: think that will happen. Wow, I think you'll get no
[8:06] Speaker 3: tax on Social Security if they can get these things through.
[8:11] Speaker 3: I think there'll be some type of small business tax
[8:14] Speaker 3: cut allah what Kamala was purporting, but I think it'll
[8:19] Speaker 3: be a little different than what Kamala's trying to purport.
[8:22] Speaker 3: So like you'll be able to fully expense your copiers yours,
[8:27] Speaker 3: So if you buy a new copier for your small
[8:29] Speaker 3: business if you buy a car, so they have that
[8:33] Speaker 3: uh Section one twenty five cap to your plan. So
[8:35] Speaker 3: if you're if you're building your business. Because Trump was
[8:40] Speaker 3: a business owner, I think there'll be a lot of
[8:45] Speaker 3: gimmes for the small business class, which I hope because
[8:48] Speaker 3: there were some things that Trump did in the first
[8:51] Speaker 3: tax cuts or Paul Ryan did that allowed the small
[8:55] Speaker 3: business owner to expense things. And I talked to a
[8:58] Speaker 3: lot of my clients that they didn't do it, meaning
[9:01] Speaker 3: maybe the rich people did it, but this middle class
[9:03] Speaker 3: fifty to one fifty, they didn't know. Oh I could
[9:07] Speaker 3: write off a copier, I could write off a truck.
[9:11] Speaker 4: I could write.
[9:12] Speaker 3: Off Now you can still write some of those things
[9:14] Speaker 3: off with Biden. It's about fifty percent now of what
[9:18] Speaker 3: it was under Trump. But you could even buy houses.
[9:23] Speaker 3: You could get the accelerated depreciation right, So accelerated depreciation
[9:27] Speaker 3: student was huge, and I think some of these things
[9:32] Speaker 3: people don't do when they're middle class because they don't
[9:36] Speaker 3: have the financial quarterback. That's why they ship my podcast
[9:40] Speaker 3: and anybody can get it on Spotify or Apple, so
[9:43] Speaker 3: no matter where you live, our radio show is based
[9:45] Speaker 3: in New York, but our podcast is everywhere. But a
[9:49] Speaker 3: lot of people don't realize you don't have to be
[9:52] Speaker 3: rich to take advantage of these gimmes for small business.
[9:58] Speaker 1: And that's really important. So you know when I always
[10:01] Speaker 1: talk about small businesses, you got to have a business plan,
[10:04] Speaker 1: and you got to have an account, you got to
[10:05] Speaker 1: have a lawyer, and a lot of people don't understand
[10:07] Speaker 1: the value of that. All they do is they get
[10:10] Speaker 1: their W two, go to or there's a Quicken, or
[10:14] Speaker 1: if you go to a tax person, you do your
[10:16] Speaker 1: taxes and miss all these opportunities. And that's what I
[10:18] Speaker 1: try to deliver on the show, opportunities and information because
[10:22] Speaker 1: of the fact that as we go through the process
[10:27] Speaker 1: deductions and I wanted to bring this up because I
[10:31] Speaker 1: don't know. I'm gonna tell you this, Josh, I don't
[10:34] Speaker 1: know what a big coin is. I understand this out
[10:36] Speaker 1: there cryptocurrency. I understand this. I've never invested in it.
[10:42] Speaker 1: I am really I'm not saying delusional, but I really
[10:46] Speaker 1: don't understand it. And so I really want you and
[10:49] Speaker 1: I've had, like many guests on this show, explain it
[10:52] Speaker 1: to me. Okay, Josh, so you the financial quarterback Okay,
[10:57] Speaker 1: I'm the running back, so you got to send me
[10:59] Speaker 1: to the right right.
[11:00] Speaker 4: Oh, so I can score that touchdown. So help me out, brother.
[11:03] Speaker 1: What is bitcoin? How should I introduce it into my
[11:06] Speaker 1: middle class life?
[11:08] Speaker 4: And what is cryptocurrency?
[11:10] Speaker 1: And how should I introduce that into my middle class life?
[11:14] Speaker 3: A Number one, you should not do any crypto investing
[11:18] Speaker 3: without getting out of debt and establishing the financial plan. Okay,
[11:22] Speaker 3: I talked to a sweet young couple. Actually, they do
[11:25] Speaker 3: work for me. They do freelance work, entrepreneurial. The guy goes, Josh,
[11:30] Speaker 3: I invested forty grand and bitcoin and crypto and I
[11:34] Speaker 3: lost half.
[11:34] Speaker 1: How does he invest? How did he invest forty grand
[11:36] Speaker 1: into bitcoin?
[11:38] Speaker 4: I don't know how he particularly did it.
[11:40] Speaker 3: How most people do is they set up an account
[11:43] Speaker 3: on an website like a coinbase.
[11:47] Speaker 4: Okay. What's nice is if.
[11:49] Speaker 3: You want to invest in bitcoin and you don't understand
[11:52] Speaker 3: how it works, but you just want a little bit. Now,
[11:55] Speaker 3: I'm not telling anyone to do this, not giving investment advice,
[12:00] Speaker 3: but it is very easy now to gain bitcoin exposure
[12:05] Speaker 3: because of the rise of bitcoin ETFs. So just like
[12:10] Speaker 3: you buy an S and P five hundred index fund,
[12:15] Speaker 3: you can buy an ETF that has bitcoin. But first
[12:18] Speaker 3: let's talk about what bitcoin is, because a lot of
[12:19] Speaker 3: people don't even know what it is. They think it's confusing.
[12:24] Speaker 3: All bitcoin is the future of money. Now cryptos, loosely speaking,
[12:29] Speaker 3: most of them are scams. But essentially what bitcoin is
[12:35] Speaker 3: is like back in We're going back to the future
[12:40] Speaker 3: in the sense that there used to be a time
[12:44] Speaker 3: where people would have a ledger and they would write everything.
[12:48] Speaker 4: Down on their ledger.
[12:50] Speaker 3: So all bitcoin it is there is a private ledger
[12:54] Speaker 3: and a public ledger exchanging money.
[13:00] Speaker 5: Please don't go anywhere. We'll be right back with more
[13:03] Speaker 5: Money Making Conversations Masterclass. Welcome back to the Money Making
[13:12] Speaker 5: Conversations Masterclass hosted by Rashaan MacDonald.
[13:17] Speaker 3: And So there is a private key and a public key.
[13:22] Speaker 3: Think like your email. Now, I will tell you the
[13:26] Speaker 3: problem that you have with it is what everybody has
[13:30] Speaker 3: with it, and it won't become ubiquitous and everywhere until
[13:35] Speaker 3: it is easily communicated. I think the simplest parallel is
[13:39] Speaker 3: kind of like Venmo give her Venmo people. So when
[13:44] Speaker 3: you Venmo people, there is a public interface where you
[13:49] Speaker 3: can see that. Rashaan and Josh the Financial quarterback have
[13:52] Speaker 3: exchanged money, so I give you thirty dollars to cut
[13:55] Speaker 3: my hair. Mm hmm okay, and other people can see
[14:00] Speaker 3: that transaction.
[14:02] Speaker 4: That is the public ledger.
[14:05] Speaker 3: Wow.
[14:05] Speaker 4: The private ledger is.
[14:07] Speaker 3: Where the money is exchanged, and so that if there
[14:11] Speaker 3: was a dispute between your eye in an exchange of services,
[14:16] Speaker 3: someone could look at the ledger and see money went
[14:20] Speaker 3: from Rashawn's.
[14:21] Speaker 4: Wallet to Josh's wallet. Now it's a.
[14:25] Speaker 3: Little confusing, but think of it as as simplest form
[14:28] Speaker 3: email for your money. So your email addresses public, say
[14:37] Speaker 3: it's Rashaan at gmail dot com, right or Josh at
[14:40] Speaker 3: gmail dot com. That is a public thing, so I
[14:45] Speaker 3: know if a message is going to you. I can
[14:49] Speaker 3: see that there's a message, but I don't see the
[14:51] Speaker 3: contents of that message.
[14:53] Speaker 4: There's a privacy element.
[14:54] Speaker 3: So there's a public aspect and a private So because
[15:00] Speaker 3: people don't trust the government anymore with their money, bitcoin
[15:06] Speaker 3: became kind of you know, Bitcoin's relatively a recent technology.
[15:11] Speaker 3: It's credited that a guy named Satoshi Nakamoto invented bitcoin,
[15:18] Speaker 3: and he invented it as people had lost faith in
[15:23] Speaker 3: the government in the wake of the financial crisis of
[15:26] Speaker 3: two thousand and eight. So it came about so people
[15:29] Speaker 3: think it's like nothing. It isn't nothing. It's it's like
[15:34] Speaker 3: email for your money. It's a cryptographic and crypto has
[15:39] Speaker 3: to do with these.
[15:40] Speaker 1: Keys, right, No, no, no, But.
[15:43] Speaker 4: I don't want to confuse your people.
[15:45] Speaker 1: But I concuse me because like it's a journey. But
[15:49] Speaker 1: you have opened a door and so, but you did
[15:51] Speaker 1: say something about cryptocurrency when you said the word scam,
[15:55] Speaker 1: and that always makes me nervous when I started getting
[15:58] Speaker 1: into it. But you didn't say that in regards to
[16:00] Speaker 1: the bitcoin and the blockchain. What makes you I shouldn't
[16:04] Speaker 1: say you, Larry, but what made you utter the word
[16:06] Speaker 1: scam when you say cryptocurrency?
[16:09] Speaker 3: I like in cryptocurrency as just a very It's like
[16:14] Speaker 3: a term that anybody could.
[16:18] Speaker 4: Foist.
[16:19] Speaker 3: I mean, are there are many different cryptocurrencies. If you go,
[16:22] Speaker 3: you can buy Solana, you can buy a Theorium, you
[16:24] Speaker 3: can buy you know, any number of them. The reason
[16:30] Speaker 3: why I like bitcoin is there is a fixed supply
[16:36] Speaker 3: and people can't manipulate it, whereas I believe any cryptocurrency
[16:42] Speaker 3: where there is a central actor. So for example, in
[16:46] Speaker 3: a theeum, we know who the founder is and he
[16:50] Speaker 3: has influence on what it does. But that being said,
[16:55] Speaker 3: I don't think anybody should invest in bitcoin or any
[16:59] Speaker 3: cryptocurrency without understanding what they're investing in. So if you
[17:04] Speaker 3: want to learn more about bitcoin, you should look up
[17:07] Speaker 3: the white paper by Satoshi. You could google White Paper
[17:11] Speaker 3: by Satoshi and you'll learn about it. There's many different
[17:15] Speaker 3: books on it. But essentially, uh, we're already there.
[17:21] Speaker 4: If you if you talk.
[17:22] Speaker 3: About Venmo, if you look at Zell, they're doing what
[17:27] Speaker 3: bitcoin was trying to do, where people could exchange money
[17:32] Speaker 3: without an intermediary like a bank getting in the way,
[17:37] Speaker 3: or a Western Union or a payday money lender. So
[17:42] Speaker 3: I think the genies out of the bottle. I think
[17:45] Speaker 3: we're there. It's like saying no, I don't want to
[17:47] Speaker 3: go into big email, or I don't believe in the
[17:50] Speaker 3: world Wide Web. It is as the Web changed information,
[17:56] Speaker 3: bitcoin is going to have an influence on changing money.
[18:00] Speaker 3: Right and now that trumpson people are calling him, you know,
[18:04] Speaker 3: the first bitcoin president. I don't even know if he
[18:08] Speaker 3: knows what it is. Because then there was something called
[18:11] Speaker 3: the trump coin, which like like I would not put
[18:15] Speaker 3: money into the trump coin.
[18:17] Speaker 1: Sorry, you know, well, I'm talking to Josh Jolenske. He's
[18:21] Speaker 1: the financial quarterback. He offers live financial guidance, which he's
[18:25] Speaker 1: doing right on my show, tackled real time listener questions
[18:28] Speaker 1: which he does on his show and his radio show
[18:30] Speaker 1: that he has in New York City, and its blend
[18:32] Speaker 1: of expertise and insight, which has helped me with the
[18:34] Speaker 1: bigcoin journey that I've always been on in which I
[18:38] Speaker 1: need to move into in twenty twenty five, and the
[18:40] Speaker 1: cryptico terrency which really kind of really really educated me.
[18:44] Speaker 1: And I think I have a clear understanding why I've
[18:46] Speaker 1: always favored bitcoin. And also I'm also understanding vemo because
[18:51] Speaker 1: I use that in Zel. I use that because people
[18:53] Speaker 1: are starting to ask me for those forms of payments,
[18:57] Speaker 1: or can I zell you the money? Can I vemo
[18:58] Speaker 1: you the money. I'm getting more and more in my life,
[19:01] Speaker 1: even though I was resistant to it. I would tell you, Josh,
[19:03] Speaker 1: I didn't want to give into it, but I realized
[19:05] Speaker 1: I have to give into that role of life. But
[19:08] Speaker 1: if we get through money, money, money, you know, it's
[19:12] Speaker 1: we won't want to be rich. We want to be
[19:14] Speaker 1: in the position to say, I don't know what rich is.
[19:17] Speaker 1: But I know that that Charles Swab said that in
[19:19] Speaker 1: the survey because they do this every year. They said
[19:22] Speaker 1: wealthy or rich is two point five million dollars. Now
[19:27] Speaker 1: you're the financial quarterback. I'm not saying that my listeners
[19:29] Speaker 1: have two point five million dollars?
[19:32] Speaker 4: Is that wealthy or is that rich?
[19:34] Speaker 1: When somebody says a big financial institution like Charles Swab
[19:39] Speaker 1: said two point five million dollars, you're rich, my man,
[19:42] Speaker 1: tell us the truth, Josh.
[19:43] Speaker 3: From your perspective, I think if you have two and
[19:47] Speaker 3: a half million dollars, your one, you know, lawsuit away
[19:51] Speaker 3: from losing everything.
[19:53] Speaker 4: Right, So don't I don't view that as rich.
[19:59] Speaker 3: Doctors who I am of his clients, don't view that
[20:01] Speaker 3: as rich. Accountants, lawyers don't view.
[20:05] Speaker 4: That as rich. I get.
[20:07] Speaker 3: I guess why the general public does, because they think, oh,
[20:12] Speaker 3: if I have two and a half million invested at
[20:14] Speaker 3: five percent, I could.
[20:16] Speaker 4: Live on one hundred grand a year.
[20:19] Speaker 3: But I don't think it's rich. I think it's maybe
[20:22] Speaker 3: better than most, but I think it's a good start.
[20:28] Speaker 3: I think it's a goal for many people to retire.
[20:31] Speaker 3: I think the average person would feel comfortable with two
[20:34] Speaker 3: and a half million.
[20:36] Speaker 4: But then when you know people with two and a
[20:37] Speaker 4: half million, they say, oh, I wish I had five.
[20:40] Speaker 3: If you know people with five they said, I wish
[20:41] Speaker 3: I had ten, and then I'd feel really comfortable. I
[20:44] Speaker 3: think it's never enough if you're the person with it.
[20:49] Speaker 3: But I guess it's as good of a definition as any.
[20:53] Speaker 1: I tell you what, Josh, because at least when the
[20:55] Speaker 1: questions you sent over to me, because that two and
[20:56] Speaker 1: a half million, Because I always go, wow, Oh, if
[21:00] Speaker 1: I'm sixty five and I got two and a half
[21:02] Speaker 1: million dollars in a bay, what kype of lifestyle should
[21:06] Speaker 1: I create for myself so I won't run out of money?
[21:11] Speaker 3: Well, there are products now where you can put two
[21:15] Speaker 3: and a half million in you get one hundred and
[21:16] Speaker 3: twenty grae a year every year of the day you die,
[21:20] Speaker 3: and those exist. But there are many products that exist
[21:26] Speaker 3: that can give you an income for life. So for example,
[21:30] Speaker 3: you could buy a no fee income annuity, fixing axtinuity
[21:35] Speaker 3: with an income rider where you get a check every month. Now,
[21:38] Speaker 3: the negative on those is how are you going to
[21:41] Speaker 3: beat inflation?
[21:42] Speaker 4: So you don't have.
[21:43] Speaker 3: All your money in an annuity. You might want to
[21:45] Speaker 3: have some in the stock market to compliment that. So
[21:49] Speaker 3: that is as our dollars become worth less since the
[21:54] Speaker 3: nineteen seventies, since the US went up the gold standard,
[21:57] Speaker 3: our dollars don't.
[22:00] Speaker 4: Buy what they used to.
[22:01] Speaker 3: Every year people talk about Republicans Democrats. We had an election.
[22:06] Speaker 3: We have to change our whole orientation as a country.
[22:09] Speaker 3: If we don't like inflation, right, we need to go
[22:11] Speaker 3: back to sound money, no debt as a country. I
[22:17] Speaker 3: don't know if we'll go there ever, you know, because
[22:20] Speaker 3: it's it would be too politically. Whoever whatever party embraces
[22:26] Speaker 3: the no debt like so if I ran for office,
[22:29] Speaker 3: I would say, elect me for four years and I'll
[22:34] Speaker 3: get out of debt. And I'll probably and I'll get
[22:36] Speaker 3: our country out of debt. I'll probably be the most
[22:38] Speaker 3: hated president ever because that would mean you would end
[22:42] Speaker 3: people's programs.
[22:45] Speaker 1: And that's what Trump is talking about.
[22:47] Speaker 3: Yeah, well, I don't think he's got I don't think
[22:49] Speaker 3: he's gonna do it. I think he likes the approval
[22:52] Speaker 3: of people more than people give him credit for. I
[22:55] Speaker 3: don't think he's gonna I think when it comes down.
[22:58] Speaker 1: To it, and send us a negative thing because there's
[23:01] Speaker 1: a lot of programs should be terminated, but somehow we are.
[23:05] Speaker 1: I was talking to a friend of mine and I
[23:06] Speaker 1: was saying that somehow, you know, we all had an
[23:09] Speaker 1: opportunity to vote, and roughly ten million people chose not
[23:13] Speaker 1: to vote, And so somewhere along the line, you have
[23:16] Speaker 1: to wake up in the mirror and go, look, it's
[23:18] Speaker 1: about me today. Yeah, do I survive? How do I
[23:22] Speaker 1: take care of my family? How do I keep my
[23:24] Speaker 1: business afloat and not worry about people who won't even
[23:29] Speaker 1: go to the polls? And I think that that's where
[23:31] Speaker 1: we at in America today. And I'm not saying that's
[23:34] Speaker 1: a bad thing, but I think that we need to
[23:35] Speaker 1: acknowledge that exists because in the financial world that we
[23:39] Speaker 1: live in, we have to become selfish.
[23:43] Speaker 3: Or at least self reliant. I always when I was
[23:47] Speaker 3: growing up, I was we had no health insurance, we
[23:54] Speaker 3: had no money, we didn't have money for health insurance.
[23:59] Speaker 3: And I think my interest in financial literacy came with
[24:04] Speaker 3: the realization when we're on the line in the emergency
[24:09] Speaker 3: room trying to get care. Because I was a childhood
[24:12] Speaker 3: asthmatic and I was with you know, the the UH
[24:17] Speaker 3: Undocumented Workers and the and the illegal immigrants whatever you
[24:20] Speaker 3: want to call them in the In the because we
[24:23] Speaker 3: were too poor for healthcare and I had to rely
[24:25] Speaker 3: on the doctors' graces to just give me treatments.
[24:31] Speaker 4: I realized, Hey, the government's not going to save me.
[24:34] Speaker 3: I don't care left right, red blue. You know, It's
[24:38] Speaker 3: like I had a decline in today and they go, Josh,
[24:41] Speaker 3: I'm worried about the country. I go, this stock market
[24:43] Speaker 3: isn't red or blue, it's green.
[24:46] Speaker 4: So you gotta take.
[24:49] Speaker 3: Care of your own economy first, because the government won't
[24:53] Speaker 3: save you and me. There might be a program that
[24:55] Speaker 3: does good for some people, but I found that people
[24:58] Speaker 3: really need it never get what they really need to
[25:02] Speaker 3: get ahead. That's why I'm a big believer in you
[25:05] Speaker 3: have to be your own I mean savior from a
[25:09] Speaker 3: financial perspective, not a not a not a spiritual you know,
[25:14] Speaker 3: I know my savior spiritually, my Lord and savior. But
[25:19] Speaker 3: what I'm saying from a financial fair nobody's gonna save you.
[25:23] Speaker 4: Donald Trump is not gonna save you.
[25:25] Speaker 3: Kamal Harris wasn't gonna save you, right, you know, you
[25:28] Speaker 3: have to save your own personal economy.
[25:30] Speaker 4: How do you do that?
[25:32] Speaker 3: You get out of credit card debt, you cut up
[25:33] Speaker 3: your credit cards, you go back to the envelope method.
[25:36] Speaker 3: You save fifteen to twenty percent of your pay. You
[25:39] Speaker 3: cut cable if you have to, You cut as you
[25:42] Speaker 3: use a library card if you have to.
[25:45] Speaker 4: You take care.
[25:47] Speaker 3: Of your own economy, and good things will happen, right
[25:51] Speaker 3: if you. I've never met anybody who saved fifteen percent
[25:54] Speaker 3: of their pay who didn't end up at least financially.
[26:00] Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, he's the financial quarterback man. Josh, hey man,
[26:05] Speaker 1: I want to thank you for coming on my show.
[26:07] Speaker 1: Can we make this a regular thing? Josh, You know,
[26:11] Speaker 1: because my whole thing about it is that I'm not
[26:14] Speaker 1: the smartest guy in the world. I'm just a good talker.
[26:16] Speaker 1: But I know a lot of smart people, and I
[26:18] Speaker 1: want to put you in my I know one of
[26:20] Speaker 1: those smart people. His name is josh Ka Lensky, and
[26:22] Speaker 1: I want to bring you back on the regular basis,
[26:24] Speaker 1: you know, just to just to expose because I got
[26:26] Speaker 1: a lot of more questions I want to ask you.
[26:28] Speaker 1: But on this show, I want to thank you for
[26:30] Speaker 1: spending time and educating with Shan McDonald on Bitcoin's cryptocurrency,
[26:35] Speaker 1: talk about the middle class what we can expect with
[26:37] Speaker 1: Donald Trump. I love the fact that you have mentioned
[26:40] Speaker 1: that there will be no tips. Possibly no tips.
[26:44] Speaker 4: That's what he said.
[26:45] Speaker 5: I love that.
[26:47] Speaker 4: I hold you to it. But look that sounds good
[26:49] Speaker 4: to me. I'm not Trump. I love to be to it.
[26:51] Speaker 6: I'm holding you to you. You're the financial quarterback. Man,
[26:54] Speaker 6: I'm running downfield. You best throw football to me because
