[0:35] Speaker 1: advice on how to be a successful entrepreneur. Now, let's
[0:38] Speaker 1: get this podcast started. I guess it's a highly sought
[0:41] Speaker 1: after international motivational speaker, award winning author and personal developing
[0:47] Speaker 1: strategists who helps people take an object or objective look
[0:52] Speaker 1: at themselves. I'm talking about look in the mirror type approach.
[0:55] Speaker 1: It slogan is making motivational personal by introducing you to yourself.
[1:01] Speaker 1: Please welcome with the Money Making Conversations Masterclass, Doctor CHACONI Prince,
[1:07] Speaker 1: How you doing, Doctor Prince, I'm.
[1:09] Speaker 3: Doing finning you.
[1:10] Speaker 1: We've been a long time, brother, been long time, and
[1:14] Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you something. Man, my daughter she loves
[1:16] Speaker 1: you man.
[1:17] Speaker 3: Uh.
[1:18] Speaker 1: You know, she always listened to my podcast because she
[1:20] Speaker 1: edits them and she's an audio engineer and she sends
[1:23] Speaker 1: them out because we're syndicated on twenty HBCUs nationwide podcast
[1:29] Speaker 1: also cears XM HBCUs. So we have a far reach
[1:35] Speaker 1: about we promote our material and so we want to
[1:38] Speaker 1: get out that correctly. And she says, I love mister Prince.
[1:42] Speaker 1: Doctor Prince is really really impressive. So that's coming from
[1:46] Speaker 1: my daughter. You know, she's under thirty. And so you
[1:48] Speaker 1: got the young folks, brother, got the young folks like me,
[1:50] Speaker 1: yet got the young folks love you.
[1:52] Speaker 3: Hey, hey, hey, I am just glad to be able
[1:54] Speaker 3: to get him back.
[1:55] Speaker 2: Well.
[1:56] Speaker 1: Good, well you getting back to me because we met
[1:58] Speaker 1: own this on my radio show. So what you're into nowadays?
[2:01] Speaker 1: So before we really get into this interview, sir.
[2:04] Speaker 3: Yeah, well, actually I think since last week talk, I
[2:08] Speaker 3: got my honorary doctor in humanities. Uh. And you know
[2:11] Speaker 3: one of the things that I tell people, and I
[2:13] Speaker 3: don't care if you have an extra doctor or an
[2:15] Speaker 3: honorary one. My question to anybody who asks doctor in
[2:18] Speaker 3: front of their name, my questionnaire is this, who are
[2:22] Speaker 3: you healing?
[2:24] Speaker 2: Right?
[2:25] Speaker 3: Okay, because just because you have that title, it doesn't
[2:30] Speaker 3: you have to be doing something with it. It's so
[2:32] Speaker 3: my focus is again helping to heal those people who
[2:37] Speaker 3: God sends my way and who I can encourage and
[2:39] Speaker 3: motivate and to really introduce them to themselves.
[2:42] Speaker 2: Right now, do you have a degree in electrical engineering?
[2:45] Speaker 3: That?
[2:45] Speaker 2: Am I wrong when I say that?
[2:47] Speaker 3: No? No, no, no, I have a fast disagree in having
[2:53] Speaker 3: a social degree in electronics and a masters degree in
[2:55] Speaker 3: electronic engineering.
[2:56] Speaker 2: Right right, That's what I thought.
[2:57] Speaker 1: And so so we talk about educating the mand now
[3:00] Speaker 1: we're talking about a person who who changed the course
[3:04] Speaker 1: of his life. Like my degree is in mathematics and
[3:06] Speaker 1: I'm not doing math, I'm not doing accounting, but I
[3:09] Speaker 1: have a skill set that when I tell people that,
[3:12] Speaker 1: they go WHOA. And so when you say people about
[3:14] Speaker 1: when you mentioned we're engineering, I'm sure people are caught
[3:17] Speaker 1: off guard because you're motivating, you're inspiring, uplifting people talk
[3:21] Speaker 1: about making that transition, doctor Prince.
[3:26] Speaker 3: Well, you know when you really are a problem solver.
[3:29] Speaker 3: Fact when you understand how things work, you can also
[3:34] Speaker 3: understand how to fix something that's wrong. And actually, what
[3:38] Speaker 3: I found out is that the gift that I have
[3:41] Speaker 3: has allowed me an opportunity to help analyze people's lives,
[3:45] Speaker 3: see where they are, see what's not working, an offer
[3:49] Speaker 3: suggested courses of action in factoring them to get the
[3:53] Speaker 3: results that they want. And that goes for almost anything.
[3:57] Speaker 3: But you have to be willing to open yourself up
[4:00] Speaker 3: to thinking is there another way? Is there a better
[4:03] Speaker 3: way and be and become a student? You know, so
[4:06] Speaker 3: many people don't want to sit down and they don't
[4:08] Speaker 3: want to learn, like they don't want to listen to
[4:09] Speaker 3: somebody else. But if you realize, Okay, what I'm doing
[4:12] Speaker 3: isn't working being I need to find somebody smarter than me,
[4:16] Speaker 3: or somebody that has more experience than I do that
[4:18] Speaker 3: can actually coach me and guide me and leave me
[4:20] Speaker 3: in the way that I need to go.
[4:22] Speaker 1: Now, what actions are you taking to move beyond inspiration
[4:25] Speaker 1: and create real results in your life right now? Because
[4:28] Speaker 1: that's what it's all about. Like you said, we shine.
[4:30] Speaker 1: We can talk of that game, but is the game
[4:33] Speaker 1: you're talking delivering results?
[4:36] Speaker 3: You know. I tell people all the time that trees
[4:39] Speaker 3: don't grow in the spring in the summer. Trees grow
[4:45] Speaker 3: in the winter. And here's why. There's less moisture and
[4:49] Speaker 3: the soil. There's less sunlight, so the roosts of the
[4:53] Speaker 3: tree have to dig deeper. When you're going through a
[4:56] Speaker 3: hard time and a tough time, what happens. You have
[4:59] Speaker 3: to you have to find out what it is that
[5:01] Speaker 3: you are passionate about, what it is that you're called
[5:04] Speaker 3: to do. You have to remember why you start. And
[5:07] Speaker 3: for me, digging deep in actually doing the learning and
[5:11] Speaker 3: the necessary work for me to be able to present
[5:14] Speaker 3: like I'm going to do at this upcoming event because
[5:17] Speaker 3: I have gone through so many things. I have dealt
[5:19] Speaker 3: with so many things, so many things have actually been
[5:22] Speaker 3: a part of my life to the point to where
[5:24] Speaker 3: I have something to share. Now I can sit on this.
[5:27] Speaker 3: I can just get all I can and can all
[5:29] Speaker 3: I get, or I can put it out there and
[5:31] Speaker 3: I can actually try to help somebody. And I know
[5:33] Speaker 3: everybody's not gonna hear me, and I'm cool with that.
[5:35] Speaker 3: I'm fine with that. But there's somebody that's waiting for
[5:38] Speaker 3: me to show up. They're waiting for me to actually
[5:41] Speaker 3: tell my story, to actually be the inspiration, to be
[5:43] Speaker 3: that example for them, and because of them, and I
[5:46] Speaker 3: don't know who they are, but because of them, I'm
[5:48] Speaker 3: going to show up because somebody showed up for me.
[5:51] Speaker 1: Stay with us more Money Making Conversation master last coming
[5:55] Speaker 1: up next, Welcome back to Money Making Conversations Masterclass hosted
[6:03] Speaker 1: by me Rashawn McDonald.
[6:05] Speaker 2: Let's get back into it. Wow, you know the one
[6:09] Speaker 2: thing I've always liked.
[6:10] Speaker 1: I'm talking to one of the top international motivational speaker,
[6:13] Speaker 1: award winning author, and personal developing coach, Dr Chaconi Prince,
[6:19] Speaker 1: you don't mind showing your flaws or letting people that
[6:23] Speaker 1: know that you make You've made mistakes. We all make
[6:26] Speaker 1: a mistake, but a lot of people, you know, they
[6:28] Speaker 1: resist acknowledging that and it tends to hold them back.
[6:32] Speaker 1: So how has procrastination delayed your purpose, goals or opportunities,
[6:38] Speaker 1: Doctor Prince?
[6:40] Speaker 3: Procrastination can be a destiny detour. Procrastination can be a
[6:49] Speaker 3: destiny detour because it keeps you from getting to where
[6:52] Speaker 3: it is you need to be. In my own life,
[6:56] Speaker 3: I used to hold myself back. I used to think
[6:59] Speaker 3: I wasn't enough, and a lot of people wouldn't believe this.
[7:02] Speaker 3: I used to have a studying problem. I literally had
[7:05] Speaker 3: a hard time getting my words out, but I knew
[7:08] Speaker 3: that I had something that was needed. I couldn't be quiet.
[7:12] Speaker 3: You know, they say that the number one fear in
[7:13] Speaker 3: the world is public speaking. And I am so quick
[7:15] Speaker 3: to tell people. I'm afraid not to because I know
[7:20] Speaker 3: I know what God has given me, and I live
[7:22] Speaker 3: by the Scripture. To whom much is given, much is required.
[7:25] Speaker 3: So I know that there's a requirement that's been placed
[7:27] Speaker 3: on my life. And so I've had to push past
[7:31] Speaker 3: my own because my own inconsistency is my own stomachy
[7:37] Speaker 3: blocks and my own self doubt. I usually co author
[7:40] Speaker 3: the book The Fact with my coach, doctor Ruben West,
[7:42] Speaker 3: where my chapter was entitled stopped Stuttering at Life Right,
[7:48] Speaker 3: and I talked about my studying problem and so so yet,
[7:52] Speaker 3: you you have to realize that that somebody's waiting for
[7:56] Speaker 3: you to show up, because if you don't, some people
[7:58] Speaker 3: go somewhere and sit down. But I know I here
[8:00] Speaker 3: because somebody is listening for my force.
[8:03] Speaker 1: Well, you know, it's really interested in that I was.
[8:05] Speaker 1: I was talking to a friend of mine. She has
[8:08] Speaker 1: the Speaker the Speaker's magazine, and she brought over the
[8:11] Speaker 1: same statement about the you know, public speaking is the
[8:14] Speaker 1: number one fear. I don't know that may have been
[8:17] Speaker 1: the case, but I think social media and YouTube have
[8:21] Speaker 1: changed that because that's all you have.
[8:24] Speaker 2: Is people speaking on YouTube, people speaking and posting and
[8:28] Speaker 2: motivating on the social media.
[8:31] Speaker 1: And I think that social media has has inspired people
[8:36] Speaker 1: to speak, has inspired people to motivate. And I don't
[8:41] Speaker 1: know if that's still true about that statement that public
[8:44] Speaker 1: speaking is the number one fear, because when you look.
[8:46] Speaker 2: At YouTube and you look at social media, that's not true.
[8:50] Speaker 2: That's not true.
[8:54] Speaker 1: You gotta but before we go to break, I want
[8:57] Speaker 1: to I want to make a statement about you man,
[8:59] Speaker 1: you know, and enjoy don't Actually I don't speak to
[9:02] Speaker 1: you enough.
[9:02] Speaker 3: You know.
[9:02] Speaker 2: I think that your personality as a.
[9:05] Speaker 1: Human and as a man has always allowed me to
[9:09] Speaker 1: have honest conversation. That's what this show is about, honest conversations.
[9:12] Speaker 1: And sometimes it's not always technical, you know, And sometimes
[9:15] Speaker 1: I wake up in the morning and sometimes I'm just
[9:19] Speaker 1: motivated to wake up and that's nothing technical about that.
[9:22] Speaker 3: You know.
[9:22] Speaker 1: It's not a two person two four. And it's important
[9:25] Speaker 1: that what you do and the results that you get
[9:32] Speaker 1: be acknowledged. And what how do you get acknowledged? I
[9:38] Speaker 1: guess that's the question I'm trying to ask. So you
[9:40] Speaker 1: feel satisfied that what you are preaching in a certain
[9:44] Speaker 1: form is being heard and then being followed.
[9:50] Speaker 3: You know, it's funny it's used to turn preaching because
[9:53] Speaker 3: aig and that good friend of mine told me, she said, Secona,
[9:56] Speaker 3: you don't have a gospel of salvation, you have a
[9:59] Speaker 3: gospel of self worth, right, And I was like, wow,
[10:03] Speaker 3: that's so true. And so for me, just just knowing
[10:08] Speaker 3: that that I have that level of fact responsibility, it's
[10:12] Speaker 3: what causes me to show up for then everybody who
[10:16] Speaker 3: comes my way, because I don't know who they are,
[10:19] Speaker 3: I don't know where they are, but I do know
[10:20] Speaker 3: that I've been given something to give to the world.
[10:23] Speaker 3: And like doctor Mason Rowe said, the fruit isn't for
[10:25] Speaker 3: the tree, So my thing is to put the fruit
[10:27] Speaker 3: out there.
[10:28] Speaker 1: Please don't go anywhere. We'll be right back with more

[10:56] Speaker 1: master Class with me Rashaun McDonald.
[10:59] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[10:59] Speaker 1: I got cancer, a diagnosis in twenty fifteen. And you know, now,
[11:04] Speaker 1: I always tell people you don't ever want the doctor
[11:06] Speaker 1: to come into the room and tell you you have
[11:08] Speaker 1: a cancer diagnosis, because I don't care what you've done,
[11:11] Speaker 1: Doctor Prince. All you think is the worst, you know,
[11:16] Speaker 1: because you know you immediately think death. And I remember
[11:20] Speaker 1: my life real literally flashed before my eyes and I
[11:24] Speaker 1: didn't hear what he was saying.
[11:25] Speaker 2: I was just hurt the word cancer.
[11:26] Speaker 1: And I didn't tell my family for a few days
[11:29] Speaker 1: because I didn't know how to handle telling them this,
[11:34] Speaker 1: you know, But I will tell you, at that point
[11:36] Speaker 1: in twenty fifteen, if my time was up, and believe me,
[11:40] Speaker 1: to everybody, I don't want my time to be up.
[11:42] Speaker 2: Okay, let me get that out the way.
[11:44] Speaker 1: But I knew that I had accomplished a lot of
[11:46] Speaker 1: things in my life that I was comfortable with saying
[11:49] Speaker 1: I'm cool, I'm cool, And I think that that's the key,
[11:54] Speaker 1: or you hear the word you did that you want
[11:57] Speaker 1: to be able to say right now that you living
[12:00] Speaker 1: a life that you want to live. If you're not
[12:02] Speaker 1: living the life that you want to live, you need
[12:05] Speaker 1: to put down whatever you're doing and make adjustments, because
[12:09] Speaker 1: what you don't want to do is leave life not satisfied.
[12:14] Speaker 2: Your thoughts on that, doctor Prince, that.
[12:17] Speaker 3: Is so so true. We all have something to accomplish.
[12:21] Speaker 3: We all have something that we're supposed to be doing,
[12:24] Speaker 3: something that we were put here for, and if we
[12:27] Speaker 3: haven't taken the time to understand what that is, we
[12:31] Speaker 3: will leave somebody starving. I tell people all the time,
[12:35] Speaker 3: once you know who you are, nothing can stop you.
[12:38] Speaker 3: But until you know who you are, anything can. And
[12:41] Speaker 3: so if you don't know who you are, your job
[12:43] Speaker 3: is to find out who you are. Like Mark Twain said,
[12:45] Speaker 3: the two most important days in your life is number
[12:48] Speaker 3: one to day you were born and number two the
[12:50] Speaker 3: day you found out why why were you born? Why
[12:53] Speaker 3: were you here? Why are you here? And so understanding
[12:56] Speaker 3: that should be the driving force behind you getting something done,
[13:01] Speaker 3: getting something accomplished. And I don't stop companion yourself to
[13:04] Speaker 3: what just be better than you or yesterday. I'm comparing
[13:07] Speaker 3: except for people. Be the best version of you that
[13:10] Speaker 3: you can be.
[13:11] Speaker 1: And I'm gonna tell you that I can answer the
[13:12] Speaker 1: question that you just said. I figured out why I
[13:15] Speaker 1: was here on earth when I was in my early
[13:17] Speaker 1: forties because I'm gonna tell you what I was doing wrong.
[13:21] Speaker 1: I was denouncing what I was accomplishing. I wanted to
[13:24] Speaker 1: be an everyday person. I didn't want to feel I
[13:28] Speaker 1: was unique. I didn't want to feel anything I was
[13:30] Speaker 1: doing in life at that time to be special. And
[13:33] Speaker 1: so because life, especially in the Black community, let's let's
[13:37] Speaker 1: go and break down the black community.
[13:39] Speaker 2: The black community tends to want you to.
[13:41] Speaker 1: Be humble, want you to downplay your success, want you
[13:45] Speaker 1: to be able to say, man, you don't want to.
[13:48] Speaker 2: You don't want to, you don't want to flaws. Hey, brother,
[13:50] Speaker 2: I'm sorry. Elon Musks flaws all the time.
[13:55] Speaker 3: For show for show.
[13:56] Speaker 2: I'm telling you right now, I'm gonna tell you.
[13:58] Speaker 1: So you know, I remember Tupac said, you know, you
[14:00] Speaker 1: can't live in the ghetto if you're successful, Okay, because
[14:03] Speaker 1: the people used to live next to them they're gonna
[14:05] Speaker 1: rob you. That was Tuboc saying that in a very
[14:07] Speaker 1: popular lyric and so so so, success is part of
[14:12] Speaker 1: growth and success is part of change, and you have
[14:15] Speaker 1: to acknowledge that. Now, people out there who don't understand that,
[14:20] Speaker 1: they could take it out how they want to take it.
[14:21] Speaker 2: And quite frankly, they might not ever get to speak
[14:24] Speaker 2: to you.
[14:24] Speaker 3: So deal with that.
[14:26] Speaker 2: They might not ever speak to you. Okay.
[14:28] Speaker 1: So with that being said, ride your success in an
[14:32] Speaker 1: honest manner. And the reason I bring that up, I
[14:34] Speaker 1: wanted to ask you this question, doctor Prince. How does
[14:37] Speaker 1: the way you present yourself reflect your self worth, confidence
[14:41] Speaker 1: and vision for success?
[14:45] Speaker 3: You know? My wellfact, when I was on that, I
[14:49] Speaker 3: remember one of my previous jobs. Iuston come on work
[14:52] Speaker 3: and I would dress up every now and then and
[14:54] Speaker 3: people like, hey, I ken't making us look bad. No, no, no,
[15:00] Speaker 3: you're making you look bad. I'm making me look good.
[15:03] Speaker 3: And somebody, man, they caught me on the wrong day.
[15:05] Speaker 3: They called me on the wrong day. They said, Conna,
[15:08] Speaker 3: why are you dressed up? And before I knew what
[15:10] Speaker 3: I said, you know, I looked in the cloths for
[15:11] Speaker 3: the clothes you about me, and I couldn't find them.
[15:15] Speaker 3: I love it, I said, so I had to put
[15:18] Speaker 3: it on a God bless me. It's like, why are
[15:20] Speaker 3: you so worried about me? So to answer a question, man,
[15:23] Speaker 3: I had I know that I'm not dressing for where
[15:27] Speaker 3: I am. I'm justing for where I'm going. I'm just
[15:29] Speaker 3: for who I'm expiring to be. And so that is
[15:33] Speaker 3: a part of my DNA is a part of who
[15:34] Speaker 3: I am, you know. And it was amazing. People say,
[15:38] Speaker 3: you know, con I always always well dressed. Well, see
[15:41] Speaker 3: what they didn't know is on the days when I
[15:43] Speaker 3: wasn't well dressed, I stayed at my desk. I kept
[15:46] Speaker 3: a little profile. But yeah, fak when I had my suit,
[15:49] Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I was flossing. I was going down the
[15:51] Speaker 3: house going okay, what's going on? Speaking to everybody yet?
[15:54] Speaker 3: But see that's what that's when when you learned to
[15:57] Speaker 3: represent yourself, when you learn to represent your brand, you
[16:00] Speaker 3: know when and where, how to turn and on, how
[16:02] Speaker 3: to turn it off. And what's more important, it's not
[16:05] Speaker 3: just the clothes, it's the character behind them. Because you're
[16:09] Speaker 3: not you and I both know there are a lot
[16:12] Speaker 3: of well dressed and you can fill in the black
[16:15] Speaker 3: you want to call them. But see, we have to
[16:18] Speaker 3: make sure that our character compliments the clothes. Like they
[16:22] Speaker 3: oftentimes said, the suit don't make the man, and the
[16:25] Speaker 3: man make the suit. Same thing for the woman. I
[16:27] Speaker 3: don't care how good looking she is. How what's your character?
[16:31] Speaker 3: Where it's your humility? Where is your passion? Where is
[16:33] Speaker 3: your heart for service? You know? Again, like I started off,
[16:36] Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, you can have a documentary and name
[16:38] Speaker 3: o you all you're healing, show me that it tres
[16:41] Speaker 3: me with that right, you know, so so so so
[16:44] Speaker 3: yet knowing, knowing that part of myself, knowing the responsibility
[16:49] Speaker 3: that comes with what I've been, and it's what causes
[16:53] Speaker 3: me to rise up and to be there for those
[16:55] Speaker 3: who have been called a certain you know.
[16:57] Speaker 2: It's so funny about white.
[16:58] Speaker 1: She always teases me, go in the restaurant and you
[17:01] Speaker 1: know somebody people just gonna naturally speak to me, and
[17:05] Speaker 1: and uh, like I just I just got back from
[17:09] Speaker 1: New York. My flight was at six pm, got counseled
[17:13] Speaker 1: and uh, I actually spent the night at Lagordio, didn't
[17:16] Speaker 1: catch a flight to eight am, landed ten twenty. And
[17:19] Speaker 1: she always said, for some reason, life is always gonna
[17:24] Speaker 1: make a way for you. It's always gonna make a
[17:26] Speaker 1: way for you. And I and I say that to
[17:29] Speaker 1: everybody to say that. You know, I've walked in the
[17:32] Speaker 1: airport and I kid you not, somebody's gonna compliment me.
[17:36] Speaker 1: I'm not asking for it, because, like you said, these
[17:38] Speaker 1: clothes I got out of my class. I'm gonna walk away.
[17:41] Speaker 1: I walked through the airport and I'm one day A
[17:44] Speaker 1: guy walked up behind me said, man.
[17:45] Speaker 2: You walk like you own this airport.
[17:47] Speaker 3: I go in the port.
[17:51] Speaker 2: Okay, brother, what you want me to change my walking
[17:53] Speaker 2: room and start limping? This is how I walked, Okay.
[17:57] Speaker 1: He was laughing. He said, man, I was just He said,
[18:00] Speaker 1: you was just a confident guy. And I said, true enough.
[18:02] Speaker 1: I would want to say that to everybody. Carry your
[18:05] Speaker 1: confidence for yourself and not care for somebody else and
[18:10] Speaker 1: the perception that they gained from that.
[18:12] Speaker 2: Let it be their perception. But don't allow.
[18:15] Speaker 1: Yourself to lawyer your standards, change the way you speak,
[18:19] Speaker 1: change the way you present yourself, because you're trying to
[18:22] Speaker 1: appease somebody.
[18:24] Speaker 2: You don't even know.
[18:26] Speaker 1: And I learned that in my life. So when I
[18:28] Speaker 1: get up in the morning and I walk in my closet,
[18:31] Speaker 1: I can assure you, Doctor Prince, I'm dressing for Rashan mcconne.
[18:36] Speaker 3: Yep, yep. I tell you a lot of time, love
[18:39] Speaker 3: yourself and let the world catch.

[18:55] Speaker 1: and again, congratulations on becoming a doctor. Okay as well.
