## Transcript

[0:00] Speaker 1: My guess is one of the premier motivational speakers in
[0:02] Speaker 1: the country. He created the Next Level Speakers Academy well
[0:06] Speaker 1: he trains thousands of individuals to show them how they
[0:10] Speaker 1: can take their marketing and a message to the world.
[0:13] Speaker 1: He's also co found at Next Level Living, where one
[0:16] Speaker 1: of their initiative is to provide monthly mails to thousands
[0:19] Speaker 1: of young children and five Cape Town South African communities.
[0:23] Speaker 1: Please welcome to Money Making Conversations for the first time,
[0:26] Speaker 1: Jeremy Anderson.
[0:27] Speaker 2: How you doing so man, blessed man, good to see
[0:29] Speaker 2: how you doing? Really good man? Recent honored Man of
[0:32] Speaker 2: the Year.
[0:32] Speaker 1: Yes, Maxine King good friend of mine and I was
[0:37] Speaker 1: honored the host the metric Beautiful Wife.
[0:39] Speaker 2: There's a family affair. It was.
[0:41] Speaker 1: It was getting an honor like Man of the Year
[0:43] Speaker 1: before we get into an interview.
[0:44] Speaker 2: What does that mean to you?
[0:46] Speaker 3: You know, similar to what I should have in my
[0:48] Speaker 3: acceptance speech, right, like they were honoring me as Man
[0:51] Speaker 3: of the Year. But I felt like I was just
[0:53] Speaker 3: a man that was supported, a man that was covered
[0:56] Speaker 3: in prayer, a.
[0:56] Speaker 2: Man that was coached up. You know what I'm saying.
[0:59] Speaker 3: I feel like, you know, was a man that was
[1:01] Speaker 3: able to pay homage in respect to those who came
[1:04] Speaker 3: before me, who paved the way for me, right, So
[1:06] Speaker 3: I didn't want to say it before them, to say, yeah,
[1:08] Speaker 3: I'm the man of the year.
[1:08] Speaker 2: It's like, now I'm a man of the year because of.
[1:10] Speaker 3: My pop, because of my mom, because of my wife,
[1:12] Speaker 3: because of others who have poured into me to help
[1:15] Speaker 3: shape and mold the man you see today.
[1:17] Speaker 1: You know a word that two words is used a
[1:19] Speaker 1: lot with athletics, the word wasted potential. And I wanted
[1:23] Speaker 1: to bring that into our conversation because a lot of
[1:26] Speaker 1: people realize wasted potential applies to you. When I say you,
[1:30] Speaker 1: not you, I'm talking about you who are listening to
[1:32] Speaker 1: the show. And how do you derive with wasted potential?
[1:36] Speaker 1: And how can someone not fall in that pit? If
[1:39] Speaker 1: they fall in the pit, how can they climb out
[1:41] Speaker 1: of that wasted potential pit.
[1:43] Speaker 3: I'm gonna be honest, man, My life's work is to
[1:45] Speaker 3: help people not experience waste the potential because that was
[1:48] Speaker 3: once me. Like, I've always been this guy to my core,
[1:50] Speaker 3: but I wasn't living a life for purpose, right. So
[1:53] Speaker 3: years ago, when I was growing up drugging alcohol, abuse,
[1:55] Speaker 3: a diagnosed with ADHD, living without my biological father, like
[2:00] Speaker 3: fail in the ninth grade. Three different times I failed,
[2:03] Speaker 3: and I was blaming everybody else. But I got to
[2:05] Speaker 3: a point where I was like, I'm not playing the
[2:07] Speaker 3: blame game. I'm about to focus on me and go
[2:09] Speaker 3: all lean. And so I was able to rehabilitate my life,
[2:12] Speaker 3: my soul become this new person. And now over the
[2:15] Speaker 3: last sixteen years, I've been living this life of purpose.
[2:18] Speaker 3: And so I tell other individuals like a lot of
[2:20] Speaker 3: people have wasted potential. That means they got something great
[2:23] Speaker 3: inside them, but they don't see it. They got something
[2:25] Speaker 3: great inside them, they don't know how to tap into it.
[2:27] Speaker 3: They got something great inside them, but they think like
[2:29] Speaker 3: their time has passed. They got some great inside them,
[2:32] Speaker 3: but they can't get over the victim mindset. They got
[2:34] Speaker 3: some great inside them, but they don't know how to
[2:36] Speaker 3: pursue the thing that God.
[2:37] Speaker 2: Has already put inside of them.
[2:38] Speaker 3: So that wasted potential is a real thing that people
[2:41] Speaker 3: struggle with every single day, and so I try to
[2:43] Speaker 3: show them like, no, no, no, it's a whole little world
[2:46] Speaker 3: out here. There's so much more you can accomplish and
[2:48] Speaker 3: achieve if you believe and then you pursue it.
[2:50] Speaker 2: But most people don't be peid.
[2:52] Speaker 3: They don't believe it and they don't pursue it, and
[2:55] Speaker 3: so that's what we call wasted potential.
[2:56] Speaker 1: So I'm just building our conversation at Jeremy because I
[2:59] Speaker 1: think they're as a journey. When you are constantly motivating
[3:02] Speaker 1: people your academy, that's what it does, right, and one
[3:05] Speaker 1: wants to come to your academy. A lot of people
[3:08] Speaker 1: have a perception of what motivation is or what public
[3:11] Speaker 1: speaking is. When one comes to your academy, what are
[3:14] Speaker 1: you trying to achieve and what perception are you trying
[3:17] Speaker 1: to tell people not.
[3:18] Speaker 2: To come with?
[3:19] Speaker 3: Yeah, so the first thing is people coming all the time.
[3:22] Speaker 3: They're like, I'm trying to get the bag. They like,
[3:24] Speaker 3: You've been a sevend figure speaking for years. Out of
[3:26] Speaker 3: watching you, I see your house, I see how you live.
[3:28] Speaker 3: I want to be a speaker for the bag, And
[3:30] Speaker 3: I'm like, don't come to me for profits, come to
[3:32] Speaker 3: me for purpose, don't come for me for income, come
[3:35] Speaker 3: to me for impact. Because if your heart is in
[3:37] Speaker 3: the right place and you really do care about people
[3:39] Speaker 3: and you really do want to add value to the
[3:41] Speaker 3: people's lives. Now I'm i going to say you how
[3:43] Speaker 3: to live impact and make the income. Like I'm gonna
[3:45] Speaker 3: say you how to live a life a purpose and
[3:47] Speaker 3: make profits. So the first thing I look for is
[3:49] Speaker 3: din you even care about people? Because what I'm giving.
[3:51] Speaker 2: You it's too popent, it's too powerful, it's too annointed
[3:54] Speaker 2: for me to just give it to you.
[3:55] Speaker 3: And you go out here and just chase the bag,
[3:56] Speaker 3: but you're not really chasing the hearts of people.
[3:59] Speaker 2: And so that's the first thing I look for.
[4:01] Speaker 3: And then I'll take them to a process where I say, Okay,
[4:03] Speaker 3: now let me show you what it looks like, because
[4:05] Speaker 3: a lot of folks is like, I never thought I
[4:07] Speaker 3: made this type of money. I get so excited when
[4:09] Speaker 3: folks call me or face tied me and they in
[4:11] Speaker 3: tears and they like, man, I got one check for
[4:13] Speaker 3: an hour one stage, and this is more than I
[4:15] Speaker 3: would have made two three months breaking my regular job.
[4:18] Speaker 2: So we're showing them how to honest.
[4:20] Speaker 3: Their story, how to go deeper within, how to minister
[4:23] Speaker 3: and be a blessing and encourage people and inspire people by.
[4:26] Speaker 2: Sharing their story that was already within them. So we
[4:29] Speaker 2: talk about waste of potential.
[4:30] Speaker 3: I'm like, you're already went through all this pain, all
[4:32] Speaker 3: this hell, all this suffering, all this heartbreak, but you
[4:35] Speaker 3: overcame it.
[4:35] Speaker 2: But you keep it to yourself. It's only a testimony
[4:38] Speaker 2: if you testify.
[4:38] Speaker 1: A lot of people don't understand this, Jeremy when we talk,
[4:42] Speaker 1: but we're talking about value.
[4:43] Speaker 2: Now, people pay you for your value. Absolutely talk to them. Yeah.
[4:47] Speaker 3: So I tell folks all the time, like, you want
[4:50] Speaker 3: to be valuable, you got to add value. So you
[4:53] Speaker 3: got to be willing to say, Okay, what can I
[4:55] Speaker 3: do to add value? What can I do to be
[4:56] Speaker 3: a blessing? How can I solve a problem? Speakers want
[4:59] Speaker 3: to jump on stage to speak. I'm like, let me
[5:01] Speaker 3: tell you something. They gonna pay you about twenty five
[5:03] Speaker 3: hundred dollars max for you to jump on stage to speak.
[5:05] Speaker 3: But when you started getting the ten thousand, fifteen, twenty thousand,
[5:09] Speaker 3: fifty thousand, I'm like, they're not paying me top dollar
[5:12] Speaker 3: just because I'm motivational. I am solving a problem. I
[5:15] Speaker 3: am adding a value. So now when we're building out
[5:17] Speaker 3: their brand, we're building out the language of that website.
[5:19] Speaker 3: You know what I tell them, I say, hey, I
[5:21] Speaker 3: want to make sure that it flows and it doesn't feel.
[5:23] Speaker 2: Like I want to book the speaker.
[5:25] Speaker 3: I want the consumer to feel like I need to speaker, Yes,
[5:28] Speaker 3: I need this speaker.
[5:30] Speaker 2: Like you're not doing me a favor by bringing me in.
[5:32] Speaker 3: I'm actually doing you a favor, and I'm about to
[5:34] Speaker 3: tax you or charge you.
[5:36] Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying because I know the value
[5:37] Speaker 2: that I bring.
[5:38] Speaker 3: So I tell folks all the time, like lead with
[5:40] Speaker 3: value and show up and over deliver and the opportunity
[5:45] Speaker 3: is gonna continue to flow.
[5:46] Speaker 1: The reason I really wanted you and I'm glad you
[5:49] Speaker 1: took the time to come up my show, Money Making
[5:51] Speaker 1: Conversation Masterclass, Jeremy, is that people don't understand that the
[5:55] Speaker 1: lessons you teach it your academy can be applied if
[5:57] Speaker 1: your small business owners can be applied for your fornio
[6:00] Speaker 1: or executive, a non executive and administration construction. So that's
[6:07] Speaker 1: the world of trying to really create here how to
[6:12] Speaker 1: take what you're training and let people know you can
[6:14] Speaker 1: apply it in your everyday life, eating in your relationship.
[6:18] Speaker 2: So the relationship part, that's all of them. The conversations
[6:21] Speaker 2: need to get to right but I'll.
[6:22] Speaker 3: Say this here, the same principles, the same business principles
[6:26] Speaker 3: that we teach people on the speaker side. It's the
[6:28] Speaker 3: same whether somebody got a construction company, whether they got
[6:31] Speaker 3: a daycare where they trying to open up a restaurant,
[6:33] Speaker 3: whether they do tax services or anything, or branding online.
[6:36] Speaker 3: You need to add value and then build yourself as
[6:38] Speaker 3: a credible source. You got to build yourself, but as
[6:40] Speaker 3: the expert, right, and so what have you gone through?
[6:43] Speaker 3: So there are some people you know this, right, Folks
[6:45] Speaker 3: mess around and go to college and you done went
[6:47] Speaker 3: to business class and then you getting taught about the
[6:49] Speaker 3: structure that ain't never filled out an EI in and
[6:52] Speaker 3: they ain't never got there.
[6:53] Speaker 2: They ain't never ran no business where they're teaching it.
[6:55] Speaker 3: When you go through the school of hard knocks and
[6:57] Speaker 3: you go through real life and you go through challenges
[6:59] Speaker 3: like life.
[7:00] Speaker 2: Has grown you.
[7:01] Speaker 3: So there's that instant credibility where there are people that's
[7:03] Speaker 3: watching your show right now and they got five, ten, fifteen,
[7:06] Speaker 3: twenty years of experience in their company, like there is
[7:09] Speaker 3: value that they can add. But how do they brand themselves?
[7:12] Speaker 3: How do they put themselves in the marketplace? How do
[7:14] Speaker 3: they carry themselves. Are they maximize every opportunity? So we
[7:17] Speaker 3: talking about money making moves we have in this conversation.
[7:20] Speaker 3: It's like when I'm gonna come in and speak work,
[7:21] Speaker 3: this is what speakers go wrong? Can I wax real quick?
[7:24] Speaker 3: They come in and speak and then when they get
[7:25] Speaker 3: done speaking, they just leave.
[7:26] Speaker 2: With a check.
[7:27] Speaker 3: It's like, nah, you stay behind. You get pictures, you
[7:30] Speaker 3: get footage, you get testimonials, you give referrals. Well, what
[7:33] Speaker 3: happens if somebody come in lake concrete on the property
[7:35] Speaker 3: I just bought.
[7:36] Speaker 2: They about to take pictures, They gonna put it on Google.
[7:38] Speaker 2: They about to.
[7:38] Speaker 3: Get some testimonials, they gonna ask for referrals. Like it's
[7:41] Speaker 3: the same type of system and flow, and so people
[7:44] Speaker 3: have to learn when it comes to business.
[7:47] Speaker 2: It's like juicing. I want to get every drop.
[7:49] Speaker 3: If I got a juicer and I'm putting carrots and
[7:52] Speaker 3: apples and all the shrewd in near I'm trying to
[7:54] Speaker 3: get every single drop out of this engagement, every single
[7:57] Speaker 3: drop out of this encounter, every single drop out of
[7:59] Speaker 3: the opportunity. And most people just kind of get whatever
[8:02] Speaker 3: they can get, but they're not maximizing that opportunity.

[8:28] Speaker 1: Welcome back to Money Making Conversations master Class with me
[8:31] Speaker 1: with Shan McDonald. If you're listening to the show or
[8:35] Speaker 1: watching the show speaking to Jeremy and Lison. He created
[8:38] Speaker 1: the Next Level Speakers Academy where he trains thousands of
[8:42] Speaker 1: individuals show them how they can take their marketing and
[8:45] Speaker 1: the message to the world. We're going to get to
[8:47] Speaker 1: another part later on in our interview where he co
[8:50] Speaker 1: found the Next Level Living where one of their initiatives
[8:54] Speaker 1: to provide monthly meals to thousands of young children and
[8:57] Speaker 1: five Cape Town, South African communities. Let's talk about how
[9:01] Speaker 1: does one get in touch with you, Jeremy.
[9:03] Speaker 3: So you know through my most people see myself on
[9:06] Speaker 3: YouTube when they're looking to book me. They'll see videos
[9:10] Speaker 3: under engages under what name Jeremy Anderson dot org like
[9:13] Speaker 3: they'll go to my website, but they'll typically they'll see
[9:16] Speaker 3: a motivation the video on YouTube, and at the end
[9:18] Speaker 3: they'll see my website. The music slowly fades out, black screen.
[9:22] Speaker 3: Jeremy Anderson dot orgs. That's my call asking, like I'm saying,
[9:25] Speaker 3: everybody come to my website. But when they go to
[9:27] Speaker 3: Jeremy Anderson dot org, they see all the different things
[9:30] Speaker 3: that I do in the speaking space. And so, you know,
[9:33] Speaker 3: like with other business owners, you gotta leverage social media.
[9:36] Speaker 3: You got levers content TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube. You gotta
[9:40] Speaker 3: continue to add value, continue to get people the game
[9:43] Speaker 3: and be a blessing to them. And then when they're
[9:46] Speaker 3: ready and they're ready to spend, they're gonna remember the
[9:48] Speaker 3: people who remember them.
[9:50] Speaker 1: Here's interesting you feel nank three with three times oh man,
[9:52] Speaker 1: three different schools for the ninth grade. I always say
[9:54] Speaker 1: the two ladies in my life, Linda Trader and Georgia Nelson,
[9:58] Speaker 1: who kept me right. I was called him bumps when
[10:01] Speaker 1: I wanted to take the easy roller out in high school. No, no,
[10:04] Speaker 1: call my mom up there and my dad there. This
[10:06] Speaker 1: boy is special.
[10:07] Speaker 2: He's unique.
[10:08] Speaker 1: Kids, challenge, do not let him take the easy road.
[10:11] Speaker 1: Out and in order to fail three times, you were
[10:14] Speaker 1: taking the easy road out.
[10:16] Speaker 2: What got you on track?
[10:17] Speaker 3: So the first school I went to was a school
[10:19] Speaker 3: called oak Wood, and I said hunter Stood, Alabama.
[10:24] Speaker 2: And I was at oak Ward and I was off
[10:26] Speaker 2: the same.
[10:26] Speaker 3: I ain't gonna lie bro I was fighting every day,
[10:29] Speaker 3: starting rumbles at the school, doing pranks. And the last
[10:32] Speaker 3: thing I did is our school got all bent out
[10:34] Speaker 3: of safe because I.
[10:34] Speaker 2: Cut the electricity off in the school. You know what
[10:36] Speaker 2: I'm saying. That school went black and they was like, Okay,
[10:39] Speaker 2: he gotta go. So that whole year wasted.
[10:41] Speaker 3: The next year I went to school called Johnson High,
[10:43] Speaker 3: also in Hunster, Alabama. But on the first day I
[10:45] Speaker 3: had one teachers like, I ain't putting up with your mess.
[10:47] Speaker 3: I heard all about you. I ain't the one. I
[10:49] Speaker 3: got kids older than you. You ain't got to be here.
[10:51] Speaker 3: If you want to be here, just that, just the
[10:54] Speaker 3: energy like you just met me. But she was already
[10:56] Speaker 3: stereotype in me. And she called herself drawing a line
[10:59] Speaker 3: in the sand, and I that I was like, I
[11:01] Speaker 3: ain't trying.
[11:01] Speaker 2: To be here anyway. I had some other choice words
[11:03] Speaker 2: for her.
[11:03] Speaker 3: Never really went to class, never really focused, never really
[11:06] Speaker 3: showed up, failed and wasted that whole school year.
[11:09] Speaker 2: Now the third year came around.
[11:10] Speaker 3: I'm at the school called Huntsville High also went Huntsville, Alabama.
[11:14] Speaker 3: And on the first day of school, the teachers was like,
[11:16] Speaker 3: we're so glad you're here. And I was like what.
[11:19] Speaker 3: They was just like, we heard so many interesting things
[11:22] Speaker 3: about you.
[11:23] Speaker 2: I was like wow.
[11:24] Speaker 3: They was just like, no, no, no, we believe there's
[11:26] Speaker 3: a scholar inside you. We believe that you can bounce back.
[11:28] Speaker 3: We believe there's a leader aside you. And so I
[11:31] Speaker 3: was like, wow, that's interesting. And so their energy was different,
[11:34] Speaker 3: and I saw that they kept showing up for me.
[11:37] Speaker 3: And when I saw their challenges and their pain, when
[11:39] Speaker 3: I realized teachers didn't have to be teachers, when I
[11:42] Speaker 3: realized they could have went into accounting and they could
[11:43] Speaker 3: have took up some other profession. When I saw teachers
[11:46] Speaker 3: that was diagnosed with cancer, one was grieving her husband,
[11:49] Speaker 3: you know, and said one used to be an engineer,
[11:51] Speaker 3: but he quit that job to be a teacher and
[11:52] Speaker 3: make a third of blessed money. Like when I saw that,
[11:54] Speaker 3: I felt they heart and they connected with my heart,
[11:58] Speaker 3: and I went all in it was like your you
[12:00] Speaker 3: believe in me, I believe in me, and so I
[12:01] Speaker 3: put my head down, handle my business, summer school, nice school,
[12:05] Speaker 3: caught up with my right grade, graduate from high school
[12:08] Speaker 3: on time, went to college, got my Baskelor's, got my
[12:10] Speaker 3: master's degree because they believed in me. So now I
[12:13] Speaker 3: trained is speak and motivate teachers, and I teach them
[12:16] Speaker 3: to teach by faith.
[12:17] Speaker 2: And not by sight.
[12:18] Speaker 3: Because I had other teachers that looked at me as
[12:20] Speaker 3: stereotype me right, But that third school, I came across
[12:22] Speaker 3: the group of teachers that chose to see the best.
[12:25] Speaker 1: And that's what you call environment. Absolutely, and so let's
[12:28] Speaker 1: talk about environment and mindset. And I like to be
[12:31] Speaker 1: able to keep this in the mindset of small business
[12:34] Speaker 1: owners who are surround generally surrounded by people who doubt
[12:38] Speaker 1: their success. Which could be your wife, it could be
[12:40] Speaker 1: your preacher, could be your co workers. Because everybody has
[12:43] Speaker 1: a stereotype of who or what you are capable of
[12:47] Speaker 1: achieving in life based on what they are right, And
[12:49] Speaker 1: that's the environment. How do you live in that same
[12:53] Speaker 1: environment but adjust the mindsets in that environment to achieve
[12:56] Speaker 1: your success well?
[12:57] Speaker 3: And sometimes sometimes you got to leave certain environments that
[13:01] Speaker 3: don't serve you well, you know what I'm saying. And
[13:03] Speaker 3: then sometimes there's also the environment of the mind because
[13:06] Speaker 3: add people say, go where you celebrated, now we tolerated.
[13:08] Speaker 2: That's deep. I get it. I hurt that twenty years ago.
[13:11] Speaker 3: But it's not always as easy to say I'm packing
[13:13] Speaker 3: up and I'm leaving this company, right, I'm packing up
[13:15] Speaker 3: and I'm leaving this marriage.
[13:16] Speaker 2: Like no, no, no, no, no, you are the common denominator.
[13:18] Speaker 3: You When they interview Nelson Mandela and they was like,
[13:21] Speaker 3: how does it feel to be free? My man was like, actually,
[13:23] Speaker 3: I was already free when I was behind bars, you
[13:25] Speaker 3: know what I'm saying. So sometimes the bars and shackles
[13:27] Speaker 3: we have in our lives, it's what's happening right here
[13:29] Speaker 3: instead of our brain. And so when we change the
[13:31] Speaker 3: environment of our minds, that can shift everything. And now
[13:35] Speaker 3: when we see ourselves better and we value ourselves more,
[13:38] Speaker 3: and we see the greatness that's societies and now that energy,
[13:41] Speaker 3: other people are attracted to that work that we see within,
[13:44] Speaker 3: and then they changed our outside environment as well, And
[13:47] Speaker 3: that's how folks can go through a whole other level.
[13:49] Speaker 3: But it starts right here and right here. There are
[13:52] Speaker 3: two ways of being a professional.
[13:53] Speaker 1: Like you go to the outlook that can tell you
[13:55] Speaker 1: you can schedule your emails, and then you have to
[13:58] Speaker 1: sometimes tell people who you are.
[14:01] Speaker 2: And so I'll send out of emails.
[14:02] Speaker 1: I wake up before a third They give emails five
[14:04] Speaker 1: going out and they come back later going you really
[14:06] Speaker 1: were up at five. That's establishing your brand. What is
[14:10] Speaker 1: the Jeremy Anderson's brand.
[14:13] Speaker 3: That's a good question, man. I would probably say perseverance
[14:16] Speaker 3: in family.
[14:16] Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying.
[14:17] Speaker 3: Half the time when I'm speaking, I'm talking about family
[14:19] Speaker 3: and the things I've gone through. You know what I'm saying,
[14:22] Speaker 3: because there has been no one that has grown me
[14:26] Speaker 3: and broken my heart more than my wife. Ain't no
[14:29] Speaker 3: other personal planet Earth has hurt me and helped me
[14:32] Speaker 3: as much as she didn't hurt me intentively. We was
[14:34] Speaker 3: just two young, broken people trying to figure it out.
[14:37] Speaker 3: So I made it to sixteen years in marriage because
[14:39] Speaker 3: I embraced a lot of that pain. And so a
[14:41] Speaker 3: lot of times on stage I talk about that because
[14:43] Speaker 3: folks see you making millions and they see successful those
[14:45] Speaker 3: stage It's like, but you ain't see me crying and
[14:47] Speaker 3: you didn't realize when I was depressed, and you didn't
[14:49] Speaker 3: see me in my own personal counseling sessions, and you
[14:51] Speaker 3: ain't seen me in my marriage coaching sessions, and you
[14:54] Speaker 3: ain't see me trying to figure out how my clear
[14:55] Speaker 3: payroll for one of my other companies, like you didn't
[14:57] Speaker 3: see to struggle. So a lot of times I'm on
[14:59] Speaker 3: that my brand is perseverance, and I would say my
[15:03] Speaker 3: brand is family and everything I'm doing, I'm helping individuals
[15:06] Speaker 3: go to the next level and I'm helping them experience
[15:09] Speaker 3: next level living. But in order to do that, there
[15:11] Speaker 3: is a certain number amount of pain that you got
[15:14] Speaker 3: to experience. But I really believe I'm accounted all joy
[15:16] Speaker 3: I really believe that these.
[15:18] Speaker 2: Things is happening. Don't happen to me, They're happening for me.
[15:21] Speaker 3: I really do believe the challenges and hardships are gonna
[15:24] Speaker 3: work out for my good I don't just recite that.
[15:26] Speaker 2: I really do believe that.
[15:28] Speaker 3: Internally, and that is something that I'm constantly pursuing. So
[15:31] Speaker 3: I'm letting folks know it's not gonna be easy. Guess
[15:33] Speaker 3: what a public service announcement the world not gonna give
[15:35] Speaker 3: you what you deserve. The world gonna give you what
[15:37] Speaker 3: you work for. You gotta show up every single day
[15:40] Speaker 3: and work for. You know what I'm saying. An nobody
[15:41] Speaker 3: give me nothing but an opportunity, you know what I'm saying,
[15:43] Speaker 3: And so you got to show up and work for.
[15:45] Speaker 3: So my brand is work, it's gret it's perseverance. But
[15:48] Speaker 3: it's also family, you know what I'm saying. Because it's
[15:50] Speaker 3: one thing for me to win the Win of the
[15:52] Speaker 3: Year award, but for my wife to sit back and
[15:54] Speaker 3: be like, yeah, but he's the man of my life.
[15:56] Speaker 2: That's what hits. Because they could have gave me the
[15:58] Speaker 2: Man of the Year ward and my wife be.
[15:59] Speaker 3: Like this, I think, stay hear me. Rights all crazy
[16:02] Speaker 3: to me at home. But the fact that what the
[16:03] Speaker 3: world sees is what people see behind doors, that's the
[16:07] Speaker 3: real victory for me. And so I will say that
[16:09] Speaker 3: that that's what my brand looks like.

[16:28] Speaker 1: We'll be right back with more money Making Conversations master Class.
[16:34] Speaker 1: Welcome back to Money Making Conversations master Class with me
[16:37] Speaker 1: with Sean McDonald. Yeah, really interesting, Thank you for coming
[16:41] Speaker 1: on my show. I'm talking to Jerry Anderson found in
[16:44] Speaker 1: the Next Level Speakers Academy and and that's a nonprofit
[16:47] Speaker 1: Next Level Living.
[16:48] Speaker 2: Talk to my listeners about.
[16:51] Speaker 1: Excuses because we can tell people how we feel, whether
[16:56] Speaker 1: it's good or bad, but they really want to hear,
[16:58] Speaker 1: especially when they deem you being successful, right, talk about excuses.
[17:02] Speaker 2: So excuses is something I feel like every human struggles.
[17:05] Speaker 3: With because there's a difference between making an excuse versus
[17:09] Speaker 3: explaining where you are and what you got going on.
[17:12] Speaker 3: And so everybody's going to have a certain level of
[17:15] Speaker 3: challenges and situations. But what are you going to do
[17:18] Speaker 3: about it? And so for me, I try not to
[17:20] Speaker 3: make excuses. I try to take extreme ownership. So in
[17:22] Speaker 3: every single situation, I'm like, you know what, that was
[17:24] Speaker 3: my fault? What could I have done differently? Yes, this
[17:27] Speaker 3: went wrong and she dropped the ball here, but really, ultimately,
[17:30] Speaker 3: if I'm involved, it's probably something different I could have did.
[17:33] Speaker 3: So I try to get rid of excuses. And I
[17:35] Speaker 3: actually my team knows running joke across all of our companies.
[17:39] Speaker 3: They know that one thing that really takes me off
[17:41] Speaker 3: is excuses. I'm like, just take ownership. But when I
[17:44] Speaker 3: start breaking out in the hives and I start hearing excuses,
[17:46] Speaker 3: and folks is like, well if this would have happened
[17:48] Speaker 3: and that happened, well when it's I'm like, I don't
[17:50] Speaker 3: want to hear no excuses.
[17:51] Speaker 2: Just admit you dropped the ball. Just admit you make mistakes,
[17:54] Speaker 2: Just admit that you're human. I have so much respect
[17:56] Speaker 2: for that.
[17:57] Speaker 3: So I'm by yo, miss me with the excuses, because
[17:59] Speaker 3: I ain't never met nobody that become great from excuses.
[18:01] Speaker 2: And you can reach way more.
[18:03] Speaker 3: Accomplishments and way more success with criticism than you will
[18:06] Speaker 3: with praise and adoration. And so I tell folks like, now,
[18:09] Speaker 3: embrace it. You made a mistake, you dropped the ball,
[18:11] Speaker 3: you screw it up, but it's okay. But don't give
[18:13] Speaker 3: me a whole bunch of excuses. Tell me what you learn,
[18:16] Speaker 3: what you'll do differently next time, And that's how you're
[18:19] Speaker 3: going to start embrace.
[18:19] Speaker 2: The next level living. Next level living. Let's talk about that.
[18:24] Speaker 1: Yeah, because before I want to make sure go to
[18:28] Speaker 1: your website.
[18:29] Speaker 3: Yep, Jeremy Anderson dot org now is next Level Academy.
[18:35] Speaker 2: Around the next level speaking academy is separate.
[18:37] Speaker 1: So let's talk about because you speaking, I want to
[18:40] Speaker 1: also drive them to that website.
[18:43] Speaker 2: Talk about that, right, Yeah.
[18:44] Speaker 3: So we have the myself and doctor Eric Thomas d
[18:47] Speaker 3: T to Hip Hop preacher number one motivation speaking of
[18:49] Speaker 3: what I mean this brother charging one hundred and fifty
[18:51] Speaker 3: thousand dollars every time.
[18:52] Speaker 2: They take the stage. Right.
[18:53] Speaker 3: So, doctor Eric Thomas and myself came together years ago
[18:57] Speaker 3: and we created the number one professional speaking program in
[18:59] Speaker 3: the world. Like we've got an online course community, three
[19:03] Speaker 3: different courses, weekly coaching calls, speech practice calls, like everything
[19:07] Speaker 3: you need from A to Z on how to become
[19:09] Speaker 3: a successful communicator. Some people want to be motivational speakers,
[19:14] Speaker 3: some want to be educational consultants. Some want to do
[19:16] Speaker 3: professional development workshops, some want to do ted talks. Like
[19:20] Speaker 3: we literally cover every aspect corporate, faith based, men and
[19:23] Speaker 3: women empowerment.
[19:24] Speaker 2: We cover every aspect of our speakers community.
[19:27] Speaker 3: And we've got thousands of members across the country, a
[19:31] Speaker 3: dozen different thriving chapters in major cities, and we're literally
[19:34] Speaker 3: helping people quit their jobs for those who want to quit.
[19:38] Speaker 3: Some people love their career, they just want to speak
[19:40] Speaker 3: part time supplement and supplement their income. But I think
[19:42] Speaker 3: it's so crazy when I meet somebody that's like, I
[19:45] Speaker 3: love my job as a dentist or a teacher, or
[19:48] Speaker 3: I actually love what I do in construction, but I
[19:50] Speaker 3: made an extra eighty six thousand dollars speaking part time.
[19:53] Speaker 3: I get so excited when people are like, man, I
[19:55] Speaker 3: got my first ten thousand dollars check, and it blows
[19:57] Speaker 3: my mind their minds. I love it when people sa say, man,
[20:00] Speaker 3: I'm a six and I'm a seven figures. We got
[20:02] Speaker 3: several seven figure speakers now, and these are all people.
[20:06] Speaker 2: Were pure heart.
[20:07] Speaker 3: They would have took the stage to speak for free.
[20:09] Speaker 3: They've been doing it for free. But we show them
[20:11] Speaker 3: how to monetize their message, how to brand themselves and
[20:14] Speaker 3: really take themselves to market.
[20:15] Speaker 2: So I am so proud of it because.
[20:17] Speaker 3: When I'm seeing what it's doing for our community and
[20:19] Speaker 3: people across the globe, it's truly something special. So I
[20:22] Speaker 3: tell people go to Next Level Speakers Academy dot com
[20:25] Speaker 3: to learn everything that we've been doing in this space,
[20:29] Speaker 3: and man, we're helping people literally change the world.
[20:32] Speaker 2: Because it's one.
[20:33] Speaker 3: Thing for me and Et and Inkey Johnson to be
[20:35] Speaker 3: successful speakers, but now if I can help thousands of
[20:38] Speaker 3: other people become successful speakers, how much more good are
[20:42] Speaker 3: we doing out here in the world. It's like that
[20:44] Speaker 3: multiply effect. And so it's somewhere really proud of, you.
[20:47] Speaker 1: Know, the beauty of because I went to one of
[20:49] Speaker 1: y'all speaking engagements back in twenty seventeen. Okay, well that's
[20:53] Speaker 1: why I first saw you on State Okay, and actually
[20:56] Speaker 1: we didn't meet.
[20:56] Speaker 2: I just saw you on States.
[20:58] Speaker 1: Backstage talking to Thomas. But the audience makeup was very,
[21:05] Speaker 1: very white, Hispanic black. One would automatically think, Okay, he's
[21:10] Speaker 1: a black guy, it's gonna be a black audience.
[21:13] Speaker 2: That's not true. Yeah, yeah, so ET's brand.
[21:17] Speaker 3: I would say that our community, our speakers academy community
[21:21] Speaker 3: now is about seventy five percent African American.
[21:23] Speaker 2: But that's probably the State.
[21:25] Speaker 3: Ready conference that we did in twenty seventeen, and so
[21:28] Speaker 3: that was a nice mixture of people that came in
[21:31] Speaker 3: from all over the country and even abroad that want
[21:35] Speaker 3: to be motivational speakers or they want to just be motivated.
[21:38] Speaker 3: They wanted to go to that next level. They wanted
[21:40] Speaker 3: to be able to stay ready, so they ain't got
[21:42] Speaker 3: to get ready. So on what we found outside of race,
[21:45] Speaker 3: outside of political parties, man, outside of the different things
[21:49] Speaker 3: that divide us, there's way more than unites us. And
[21:52] Speaker 3: what we have found is that people are looking for
[21:54] Speaker 3: something real. People will look for something raw. People want
[21:57] Speaker 3: to live a life a purpose. People don't want to
[21:59] Speaker 3: have their livelihood only connected to the government and what
[22:04] Speaker 3: can happen.
[22:04] Speaker 2: They're like, they want to be free, you know what
[22:06] Speaker 2: I'm saying.
[22:06] Speaker 3: They don't want to be in that position where they're
[22:08] Speaker 3: not living to their full potential. And so people tend
[22:11] Speaker 3: to tap in with us when they're really truty to.
[22:13] Speaker 2: Go to that next level.
[22:14] Speaker 1: Like okay, the brother captures everywhere, every one of the disciples. Yeah,
[22:19] Speaker 1: of that platform, and now you're changing world, but not
[22:22] Speaker 1: only do your speaking, but through your next level living.
[22:25] Speaker 2: Yeah. South Africa? Yeah? Why South Africa? So I went there.
[22:29] Speaker 3: My first time in South Africa was twenty sixteen, and
[22:33] Speaker 3: I met some individuals there man, and it was a
[22:35] Speaker 3: great experience. I was in Johannahsburg, okay bird, and then
[22:39] Speaker 3: a few months some people there was like you were
[22:41] Speaker 3: too powerful. We need you to come to Cape Town.
[22:44] Speaker 3: I was like, where's Cape Town? There's like is this
[22:45] Speaker 3: stuff right here? Because now we gotta talk about stereotypes.
[22:48] Speaker 2: Okay, okay, because you talk.
[22:50] Speaker 1: About you've been sold a brand in America or what
[22:53] Speaker 1: Africa is?
[22:54] Speaker 2: Right? So going over there, there's a lot of uncertainty.
[22:58] Speaker 2: I pulled up at the Maslow hot Tell.
[23:00] Speaker 3: It's said, I've seen a Bentley, I seen a Masariety,
[23:04] Speaker 3: I've seen a Porsch truck, and then I saw Ferrari
[23:07] Speaker 3: and I'm thinking, like where the naked fulk playing drums?
[23:11] Speaker 3: And I walk in the mass Low Hotel and I'm like,
[23:13] Speaker 3: this is one of the nicest hotel.
[23:15] Speaker 2: They took me to my suite. I was like, what
[23:17] Speaker 2: in the world. I couldnot wait to get back to
[23:19] Speaker 2: the States.
[23:19] Speaker 3: Right.
[23:20] Speaker 2: They say, this ain't what you thought it was. It's sad.
[23:22] Speaker 2: It's sad.
[23:23] Speaker 1: We have to deliver that message because when you laying
[23:27] Speaker 1: nothing but beautiful black woman billboards of every artist that
[23:31] Speaker 1: you will see, you know, John Legend or Kevin the
[23:35] Speaker 1: Hard or whoever is this major start you see on
[23:38] Speaker 1: their billboards. You know, it's a major shift, and it's
[23:43] Speaker 1: a major insult to what the story they tell you
[23:46] Speaker 1: about Africa that is really working and succeeding in Africa.
[23:51] Speaker 1: That's the major thing that I was so disappointed, yeah, myself.
[23:56] Speaker 3: And so now so now I found myself an African.
[23:59] Speaker 3: I'm letting folks like, Africa is beautiful. My wife, let
[24:02] Speaker 3: me tell you something. She loves so much. She want
[24:04] Speaker 3: to spend six months now in South Africa. And E
[24:06] Speaker 3: t talking about you need to make it happen. I'm like,
[24:09] Speaker 3: you don't just do that overnight.
[24:11] Speaker 1: That plane ride because I fell in love with Durban Africa.
[24:16] Speaker 2: Okay, and man, I'm.
[24:17] Speaker 1: Looking at houses that plane ride though, brother, but you
[24:21] Speaker 1: change your mind.
[24:22] Speaker 3: Yeah, but then you get used to that del to
[24:24] Speaker 3: one and then you go sleep and you wake number
[24:26] Speaker 3: you're there.
[24:27] Speaker 2: But it is a beautiful place. And after Joe Burgh, about.
[24:31] Speaker 3: Three months later, they brought me into Cape Town, which
[24:33] Speaker 3: is on the coast, which is, as you know, beautiful.
[24:36] Speaker 2: On that water.
[24:37] Speaker 3: And then about four months later they brought me back
[24:39] Speaker 3: to Cape Town. Well, by my third time in South Africa,
[24:42] Speaker 3: my handlers and people who brought me in. You know,
[24:45] Speaker 3: I'm staying at nice hotels. I was like, man, show
[24:47] Speaker 3: me the city. And they showed me where they grew up.
[24:50] Speaker 3: And I saw the hood. Now you know here in
[24:52] Speaker 3: the States we have the half and half nots. It's
[24:55] Speaker 3: different there. They're half notz is, third floors, no electricity,
[25:00] Speaker 3: ten walls. They might not you know, they eat every
[25:03] Speaker 3: other day, one meal. So when I saw the babies
[25:06] Speaker 3: and I saw the kids, it's like it pricked my heart.
[25:09] Speaker 2: And so we began to.
[25:11] Speaker 3: Like tie to an organization there and some folks there,
[25:15] Speaker 3: and it was like, man, we want to send a
[25:16] Speaker 3: couple thousand dollars, you know, send a month to just
[25:19] Speaker 3: feed some of these kids. Because I was showing them
[25:21] Speaker 3: how to do community outreach and I was showing them
[25:23] Speaker 3: how to be a blessing. And so we started to
[25:25] Speaker 3: feed my Sheep program. And so they was out there
[25:28] Speaker 3: feeding the kids. And when I saw how consistent they
[25:30] Speaker 3: were for about a year and a half, in twenty eighteen,
[25:33] Speaker 3: we set up our official nonprofit organization and since twenty eighteen,
[25:37] Speaker 3: we've been feeding one thousand starving children every single week.
[25:41] Speaker 3: They're in Cape Town, South Africa, across a number of communities.
[25:44] Speaker 3: And in twenty twenty we started our college sponsorship program
[25:49] Speaker 3: and since twenty twenty we put sixty kids through college.
[25:51] Speaker 2: There beautiful. Now that's a Shepherd website.
[25:54] Speaker 3: Yeah now that is yeah, yeah, now that is Next
[25:57] Speaker 3: Level Livinginc.
[25:58] Speaker 2: Dot org.
[26:00] Speaker 3: And I'm just gonna say this, out of all the websites,
[26:03] Speaker 3: if somebody is like, man, I want to book Jeremy
[26:05] Speaker 3: to come in and speak for my company in my school,
[26:07] Speaker 3: like Jeremy and it is in the Oragle, and man,
[26:09] Speaker 3: I want to have Jeremy, you know, coach me and
[26:11] Speaker 3: join the speakers Academy Next Level Speaks Academy dot com.
[26:14] Speaker 3: But don't nothing get me more excited then when people say, man,
[26:18] Speaker 3: I want to be a part of this piedentthropic work
[26:20] Speaker 3: because as a Now you know, doctor Maxine came right
[26:23] Speaker 3: who blessed both of us with the Man of the
