[0:50] Speaker 1: It's time to stop reading other people's success stories and
[0:52] Speaker 1: start living your own. My guest owns Full Bloom. She's
[0:57] Speaker 1: on a mission to help you bloom into your best self.
[1:01] Speaker 1: Full Bloom invites people to lean on the company for
[1:04] Speaker 1: the support you need throughout every stage of your life.
[1:09] Speaker 1: Please welcome to Money Making Conversation Masterclass, Paris Fletcher.
[1:13] Speaker 2: How you doing, Paris?
[1:15] Speaker 3: I'm doing so good.
[1:16] Speaker 1: How are you?
[1:17] Speaker 2: Where are we located at, Paris? Where are you living
[1:19] Speaker 2: these days?
[1:20] Speaker 3: I actually live in Douglasville, Georgia. I'm from San Diego,
[1:24] Speaker 3: but I moved to Georgia last year, so I'm here now.
[1:27] Speaker 2: San Diego. Good food over in San Diego now. I've
[1:30] Speaker 2: been there.
[1:30] Speaker 4: I know.
[1:31] Speaker 1: See, I know I'm going to hit that good food button, boy.
[1:34] Speaker 1: I tell you, San Diego. You want to eat, you
[1:37] Speaker 1: go to San Diego. They got some restaurants waiting on you,
[1:40] Speaker 1: especially seafood.
[1:41] Speaker 2: Absolutely.
[1:43] Speaker 4: Yes.
[1:43] Speaker 3: See, I will say I'm allergic to shellfish, so I
[1:46] Speaker 3: don't really dabble in the seafood world, but, you know,
[1:48] Speaker 3: they do have some great options and great food.
[1:51] Speaker 2: They do.
[1:51] Speaker 1: So if anybody's traveling, you know, the West Coast, and
[1:55] Speaker 1: you hear San Diego... Go down there and try out
[1:58] Speaker 1: those great restaurants you got down there.
[2:00] Speaker 2: So what brought you down to Georgia? Was it family?
[2:02] Speaker 2: Was it a job? Was it education? Tell me, Paris. No.
[2:07] Speaker 3: So what brought me to Georgia, my fiance is originally
[2:09] Speaker 3: from Augusta. And I met my fiance in L.A. when
[2:12] Speaker 3: we were both doing the entertainment thing. And, you know,
[2:15] Speaker 3: his family's out here. His parents are a little older.
[2:18] Speaker 3: So we wanted to come out here, settle out here.
[2:21] Speaker 3: So if they ever needed us, if they ever needed him,
[2:23] Speaker 3: we could be closer to just be there for them
[2:25] Speaker 3: of any assistance that they might need. Good.
[2:28] Speaker 1: So let's talk about the entertainment thing, you know, the
[2:30] Speaker 1: entertainment thing, you know, like, you know, so obviously like myself,
[2:35] Speaker 1: you know, I, I dabbled into entertainment, standup comedian, thought
[2:39] Speaker 1: I'd be the next Eddie Murphy, Bill, you know, Richard Pryor. And,
[2:44] Speaker 1: you know, but in the end I realized that my
[2:46] Speaker 1: true calling was, you know, producing, you know, being able
[2:50] Speaker 1: to see talent and brand products or talents and build
[2:54] Speaker 1: those ideas and, create change. And so that was my shift.
[3:00] Speaker 1: What was your entertainment talent that drew you to Los Angeles?
[3:04] Speaker 3: Well, so I grew up as a competition kid. I
[3:07] Speaker 3: had been dancing my whole life and it just seemed
[3:09] Speaker 3: like a natural progression to get into the dancing professionally.
[3:14] Speaker 3: And it's something that I love to do, something that
[3:16] Speaker 3: I always knew. So originally when I turned 19, I
[3:20] Speaker 3: went out to LA, I got an agency and within
[3:24] Speaker 3: two months of signing with that agency, I was touring
[3:26] Speaker 3: the world with an artist dancing worldwide, you know, backup
[3:30] Speaker 3: dancing and everything like that, which was such a blessing. Um,
[3:33] Speaker 3: I was in college at the time, but it was
[3:35] Speaker 3: like a once in a lifetime chance. I'm like, you
[3:36] Speaker 3: know what? I'm just going to put that on hold.
[3:38] Speaker 3: I'm going to drop out and do my thing and
[3:40] Speaker 3: see where this could go. And from, from the tour,
[3:44] Speaker 3: when I got back, um, I started doing TV shows
[3:46] Speaker 3: and commercials. And then from there I got into acting.
[3:50] Speaker 3: I'm naturally from commercial, um, from the commercial world, from dancing,
[3:53] Speaker 3: and started taking acting classes, loved it. And then from
[3:57] Speaker 3: the acting classes, I started doing some shows here and there,
[3:59] Speaker 3: had a co-star, a couple co-stars, and then, you know,
[4:03] Speaker 3: just started doing the whole thing, you know, the commercial, acting,
[4:07] Speaker 3: and then doing the... Didn't quite make it in the movies,
[4:10] Speaker 3: but I was so close, you know, I was paid
[4:12] Speaker 3: in a veil, on a veil for all these different things,
[4:15] Speaker 3: which is amazing. I love entertainment, but similar to you, I...
[4:20] Speaker 3: I just for me, I just felt like I needed
[4:24] Speaker 3: to do something more. I had always my whole life.
[4:26] Speaker 1: Let's talk about let's talk about the transition because of
[4:29] Speaker 1: the fact that, you know, you know, there was success
[4:33] Speaker 1: for you in entertainment.
[4:35] Speaker 4: Yes.
[4:35] Speaker 2: But there was also a lot of frustration. OK.
[4:39] Speaker 1: You know, I know because that was in my lane,
[4:41] Speaker 1: because anytime you can walk in a room and you see.
[4:44] Speaker 1: You go in for an audition. I'm just telling everybody
[4:46] Speaker 1: how it works. You know, you go in and they
[4:48] Speaker 1: tell you, come in for an audition. You walk in
[4:49] Speaker 1: the room and there's 50 people and none of them
[4:51] Speaker 1: look like you.
[4:53] Speaker 2: Right.
[4:53] Speaker 1: So right there, you don't know what they want. And
[4:56] Speaker 1: that's the part that frustrated me. See, I'd like to
[4:58] Speaker 1: know that I got a shot at something. But then
[5:03] Speaker 1: I had some friends who worked all the time, but
[5:07] Speaker 1: I wasn't working. You know, I was working as a stand-up,
[5:09] Speaker 1: but I wasn't working as a commercial artist. actor or
[5:12] Speaker 1: a theatrical actor, theatrical actors, sitcoms and movies and all
[5:16] Speaker 1: that stuff in theater. And so that's the part that
[5:20] Speaker 1: I went, I cannot allow industry to dictate me based
[5:25] Speaker 1: on how they feel or how I look.
[5:28] Speaker 2: That's the part that frustrated me.
[5:29] Speaker 3: Right.
[5:30] Speaker 4: Yes.
[5:31] Speaker 2: Yes.
[5:31] Speaker 1: What were your thoughts on that? When you hear me
[5:33] Speaker 1: talk like that, Paris?
[5:35] Speaker 3: Oh, my gosh. I mean, it's like looking in a mirror.
[5:38] Speaker 3: That's how I felt. You know, and I will say
[5:42] Speaker 3: I love the process of auditioning when I was doing
[5:45] Speaker 3: it consistently. I love going into those rooms, even though
[5:47] Speaker 3: I was nervous, so nervous. There's just something about it
[5:50] Speaker 3: that just this adrenaline rush that just it felt good.
[5:53] Speaker 3: And I love people. So going into these scenarios where
[5:56] Speaker 3: I'm meeting different casting directors and whatnot, I love making
[5:59] Speaker 3: those connections. And I always had a great time in
[6:01] Speaker 3: the room and always had pretty much that I can't.
[6:04] Speaker 3: There's been those auditions where I just bombed completely and
[6:07] Speaker 3: just lost all of the lines that I had. But
[6:10] Speaker 3: pretty much all of the auditions that I did, I
[6:13] Speaker 3: felt good connections with the casting directors. And, you know,
[6:16] Speaker 3: I was given those directions. So I will say that
[6:20] Speaker 3: I have had very positive experiences with auditioning. However, things
[6:26] Speaker 3: like you, I just.
[6:29] Speaker 3: I would get so close to these auditions being on
[6:31] Speaker 3: avail for months and just knowing that this is my
[6:34] Speaker 3: big break. I'm going to do it. I'm going to
[6:37] Speaker 3: be a movie star. They end up going with like
[6:39] Speaker 3: a name or celebrity or someone that has more followers
[6:42] Speaker 3: than you, just things like that. And it just really
[6:44] Speaker 3: started to kind of, it starts to kind of wear
[6:48] Speaker 3: on you a little bit, you know, and starts to
[6:49] Speaker 3: dim your light a little bit. And me, I find
[6:52] Speaker 3: so much security in, like just in knowing, and I
[6:55] Speaker 3: know that we're not always in control of our lives
[6:57] Speaker 3: and everything like that, but for the things that I
[6:59] Speaker 3: can control, I want to be able to control and
[7:02] Speaker 3: knowing that it's up to me, whether rather than it
[7:05] Speaker 3: being up to this casting director, that's just like, you
[7:07] Speaker 3: know what? Your eyes aren't brown enough, so let me
[7:09] Speaker 3: go with this other person.
[7:10] Speaker 2: Right.
[7:11] Speaker 3: Just whatever it is.
[7:12] Speaker 2: Oh, my God. You're bringing back horror stories, Paris. Stop. Stop.
[7:17] Speaker 3: Oh, my God.
[7:18] Speaker 1: You're too tall. You're too dark. We want a bald
[7:21] Speaker 1: head dude.
[7:23] Speaker 2: Yes. Oh, my God. Can you dance? Can you sing? No,
[7:26] Speaker 2: I can't sing. Can you play an instrument? No, I
[7:28] Speaker 2: can't play an instrument. Oh, can you do voices? No,
[7:32] Speaker 2: I can't do voices. Okay, next.
[7:33] Speaker 4: No, no.
[7:35] Speaker 2: Oh, my goodness.
[7:35] Speaker 3: I can only be me.
[7:36] Speaker 2: I can only be me. And guess what? Me wasn't
[7:38] Speaker 2: getting booked, Paris.
[7:40] Speaker 1: And so I went, okay, I became a very successful
[7:42] Speaker 1: writer in Hollywood and started producing television shows and managed talent.
[7:48] Speaker 1: And so now I'm on a show called Money Making
[7:49] Speaker 1: Conversations Masterclass. So, Paris, you have a brand called Full Bloom.
[7:54] Speaker 1: That's Full Bloom. F-U-L-L Bloom. Tell us about that.
[7:59] Speaker 3: Well, F-U-L-L Bloom. So what happened, it's interesting how it
[8:03] Speaker 3: kind of played out. But I started Full Bloom about
[8:06] Speaker 3: three years ago now. But how I started it, when
[8:09] Speaker 3: the pandemic happened, I was working with a casting director
[8:13] Speaker 3: and I was actually working on a show. And it
[8:15] Speaker 3: was amazing because I was actually one of the leads
[8:18] Speaker 3: on that show. But then it just never ended up
[8:20] Speaker 3: coming out because of just, I don't know, the producer
[8:25] Speaker 3: pulled out or something like that. So anyways. When the
[8:27] Speaker 3: pandemic happened, the casting director that had booked me for
[8:31] Speaker 3: that show reached out to me and said that there
[8:33] Speaker 3: was an opportunity. And, you know, this platform was trying
[8:36] Speaker 3: to diversify, so they were onboarding creators. And I was
[8:39] Speaker 3: initially onboarded to this platform to, you know, just kind
[8:43] Speaker 3: of share my story with other people, just to provide
[8:45] Speaker 3: inspiration and motivation for whoever. And so I got.
[8:49] Speaker 1: On this platform.
[8:50] Speaker 3: I started posting videos. I'm like, okay, well, you know,
[8:52] Speaker 3: there's nothing else to do. We're in a pandemic. Everyone's
[8:54] Speaker 3: just home doing nothing. So let me just do this.
[8:57] Speaker 3: And I was posting affirmations, journal prompts for people to
[9:02] Speaker 3: use as a resource because we just had so much
[9:04] Speaker 3: time in that moment to just sit with ourselves.
[9:07] Speaker 2: So let me slow down.
[9:08] Speaker 1: Because you're a fast talker, Paris. I know you've been
[9:10] Speaker 1: told that before. You can talk fast.
[9:13] Speaker 3: My mom's from New York.
[9:14] Speaker 4: Okay.
[9:14] Speaker 1: You said San Diego. So I'm trying to work with
[9:17] Speaker 1: that San Diego speed, okay?
[9:19] Speaker 2: Okay.
[9:20] Speaker 1: Now, California speed. Now, you started, this was a platform, right?
[9:26] Speaker 1: And it was a motivational platform, I'm assuming, because you
[9:28] Speaker 1: talk about affirmations and videos.
[9:30] Speaker 3: It wasn't, not necessarily. So the platform was TikTok. So they,
[9:36] Speaker 3: at the time, were more so known as, yeah, they
[9:39] Speaker 3: were known as like the dance platform, you know, like
[9:41] Speaker 3: everyone's just on their dancing. But they were looking to
[9:44] Speaker 3: diversify their content because they wanted to be, and now
[9:47] Speaker 3: they are more than just a dance platform. People go
[9:50] Speaker 3: there for a number of things.
[9:51] Speaker 1: So it was a dance platform that they brought you
[9:55] Speaker 1: on and they wanted to diversify the content.
[9:59] Speaker 2: Yes.
[9:59] Speaker 3: So they not, I won't say that they were strictly
[10:03] Speaker 3: a dance platform, but that's what they were known for.
[10:05] Speaker 2: Okay. Okay.
[10:08] Speaker 3: So they just wanted to just bring more to the platform.
[10:11] Speaker 3: So it just had just different niches and genres, if
[10:14] Speaker 3: you will. And so I was onboarded as, you know, Motivation.
[10:19] Speaker 3: And I started posting videos and I started with affirmations
[10:24] Speaker 3: and then journal prompts so people, like I said, could
[10:26] Speaker 3: just have something to do with all the time that
[10:29] Speaker 3: we had on our hands during that time in the pandemic.
[10:31] Speaker 3: And I didn't realize how many people actually needed that
[10:34] Speaker 3: because self-development, journal prompts, self-discovery, that's something that I've always
[10:39] Speaker 3: been just within my own journey, I've always done because
[10:43] Speaker 3: it was just so necessary. Something, an outlet for me
[10:46] Speaker 3: in the entertainment industry to always come back to self
[10:48] Speaker 3: because you can get so lost in all these, you know,
[10:51] Speaker 3: the judgment, all those things. So anyways, it resonated with
[10:56] Speaker 3: a lot of people when I started posting on TikTok.
[10:58] Speaker 3: And I grew my following from zero. I'm now around
[11:02] Speaker 3: 200,000 followers on TikTok. But it just became something that
[11:07] Speaker 3: people just, like I said, it resonated with them and
[11:10] Speaker 3: something that they looked forward to. And so I built
[11:14] Speaker 3: my following or my community based upon, you know, self-help
[11:19] Speaker 3: and wellness and, you know, like I said, inspiration, motivation.
[11:24] Speaker 3: And so with that being said, my journal prompts and affirmations,
[11:28] Speaker 3: it just always played over so well with people. And
[11:31] Speaker 3: I had people reaching out to me saying like, this
[11:34] Speaker 3: is amazing and you don't understand how much you have
[11:36] Speaker 3: helped me within my own journey. And I just want
[11:39] Speaker 3: to say if Let's say if you sold these prompts,
[11:42] Speaker 3: I would totally buy it. And in my mind, I
[11:45] Speaker 3: never thought about, you know, creating a resource for anyone
[11:49] Speaker 3: to just to buy. And I'm like, you know what?
[11:51] Speaker 3: That's actually a great idea. Maybe I can put something
[11:53] Speaker 3: together and, you know, we'll see what happens. So I
[11:57] Speaker 3: started Full Bloom on my company so I could just
[12:00] Speaker 3: have a name and have a business.
[12:01] Speaker 1: Why Full Bloom? Why Full Bloom? Why is that the
[12:04] Speaker 1: name of your company?
[12:06] Speaker 3: Full bloom. I, I love plants and I just feel
[12:10] Speaker 3: as though we are just journeys, journey-wise and just, just life-wise.
[12:14] Speaker 3: It's just so similar to plants, you know, in a
[12:16] Speaker 3: way because plants are just, you know, you have to
[12:19] Speaker 3: put it in the right environment. You have to give
[12:20] Speaker 3: it the right nutrients. You have to give it the right,
[12:22] Speaker 3: you know, just, you know, the water, just to take
[12:25] Speaker 3: care of it in a way to where if it's
[12:27] Speaker 3: not in the right environment, it's not going to thrive.
[12:29] Speaker 3: And so within people, ourselves, our lives, if we're not
[12:33] Speaker 3: in the right environment, the right headspace around the right people,
[12:36] Speaker 3: we're not going to thrive. And so if we're in
[12:38] Speaker 3: the right environment and nurturing ourselves in a way that's
[12:41] Speaker 3: just empowering us, uplifting us, and just giving us like
[12:45] Speaker 3: putting good and positivity into us, we're going to thrive
[12:47] Speaker 3: and we're going to bloom into like the most beautiful
[12:50] Speaker 3: versions of ourselves. And so I just thought full bloom
[12:52] Speaker 3: was perfect because it just, it just encapsulates all this stuff, everything,
[12:57] Speaker 3: you know, that, It's just that I believe in and
[13:00] Speaker 3: I know to be true. So, full blown. And, yeah,
[13:05] Speaker 3: that's the name. That's the name. But I created a resource,
[13:08] Speaker 3: a guided journal called Back to Me, The Journey Back
[13:11] Speaker 3: to Self. And it's just over 365 prompts for over
[13:16] Speaker 3: a year. And it's just a prompt a day that
[13:18] Speaker 3: people can use. And then you also have a space
[13:21] Speaker 3: for affirmation. So, you can write a positive affirmation. But it's...
[13:24] Speaker 3: things like that to just really nurture your relationship with
[13:26] Speaker 3: self and go on that self-discovery journey, find that self-love,
[13:30] Speaker 3: taking care of yourself, self-care, all those things. And I
[13:34] Speaker 3: created that guided journal about three years ago. And, you know,
[13:38] Speaker 3: it has just, it's history now. Like it's like the
[13:41] Speaker 3: rest is history.
[13:42] Speaker 1: So you're saying that has become a moneymaker. That's what
[13:45] Speaker 1: you're saying, Paris?
[13:47] Speaker 3: Yeah, and I don't like to think of it like that.
[13:49] Speaker 3: Come on, come on, parents. You're on my show.
[13:52] Speaker 2: Money-making conversation masterclass. You're right. You're absolutely right.
[13:56] Speaker 3: You know, you were out.
[13:58] Speaker 1: There dancing, you know, and, you know, it was COVID hit.
[14:01] Speaker 1: And now you have 205,000 followers on TikTok.
[14:05] Speaker 2: You have 3.5 million likes.
[14:08] Speaker 1: And that's important to understand that because that's called engagement.
[14:12] Speaker 4: Yes.
[14:13] Speaker 1: Now, the inspiration behind this, when you look at social media,
[14:17] Speaker 1: two things are very popular on social media, food and inspiration.
[14:23] Speaker 2: Okay? I know because I'm involved in both of them. Food.
[14:26] Speaker 4: Okay.
[14:26] Speaker 1: People want to know how to cook stuff, and they
[14:29] Speaker 1: want to know to be inspired and motivated and uplift.
[14:32] Speaker 2: What do you think you're– we're going to go to break.
[14:35] Speaker 1: Paris, when I come back, I want to get into
[14:37] Speaker 1: more details about you as an individual, your inspiration. and
[14:42] Speaker 1: the patterns, and this is about money-making conversations because so
[14:46] Speaker 1: many people are out there doing this, and people have
[14:49] Speaker 1: told me about setting up subscriptions and books, and I'm
[14:52] Speaker 1: going to tell you, I don't know. And hearing you say, Rashawn,
[14:56] Speaker 1: I didn't know either, but guess what? I'm doing it,
[14:58] Speaker 1: and you should slow down and do it yourself. We'll
[15:02] Speaker 1: be right back with more money-making conversations. I am talking
[15:05] Speaker 1: to the creator of Full Bloom, Parrish Fletcher, and I'm
[15:08] Speaker 1: the host, Rashawn McDonald.
[15:18] Speaker 4: We'll be right back with more Money Making Conversations Masterclass
[15:21] Speaker 4: with Rashawn McDonald. Welcome back to the Money Making Conversations
[15:30] Speaker 4: Masterclass hosted by Rashawn McDonald. Money Making Conversations Masterclass continues
[15:36] Speaker 4: online at MoneyMakingConversations.com and follow Money Making Conversations Masterclass on Facebook, Twitter,
[15:43] Speaker 4: and Instagram.
[15:45] Speaker 1: I'm speaking to Paris Fletcher. She found it full bloom
[15:48] Speaker 1: to remind others that having a clear sense of self
[15:51] Speaker 1: is imperative when facing adversity, rejection, and negativity. That happens
[15:56] Speaker 1: a lot in our world. How have you, I wouldn't
[16:00] Speaker 1: say bottled it, but how are you using that and
[16:03] Speaker 1: twisting it and making it positive for people who need
[16:05] Speaker 1: to hear what you.
[16:06] Speaker 2: Have to say, Paris?
[16:10] Speaker 3: You know, I just, me, I just, They're my honest
[16:16] Speaker 3: truth of my journey and what I've been through. And,
[16:19] Speaker 3: you know, that's where... What I started with my social media,
[16:24] Speaker 3: like my TikTok and everything like that, I've just always
[16:27] Speaker 3: been so honest with what I had gone through. And
[16:29] Speaker 3: we talked about the entertainment industry, but just all the
[16:31] Speaker 3: things that I had to deal with. And I won't say, like,
[16:35] Speaker 3: just the rejection that happens, and that's just the natural,
[16:38] Speaker 3: you know, circumstances that you go through within the industry.
[16:41] Speaker 3: Like I said, it just starts to wear.
[16:43] Speaker 2: On you a little bit.
[16:44] Speaker 3: And sometimes... when I was going through it, I just
[16:47] Speaker 3: really started to question my, um, my talents, my skills, myself, like, man,
[16:52] Speaker 3: am I not talented enough? Am I not pretty enough?
[16:54] Speaker 3: But then what I found for myself, just always, like
[16:57] Speaker 3: I said, journaling, just, you know, knowing my strengths, knowing
[17:00] Speaker 3: my weaknesses and owning that and just loving every aspect
[17:04] Speaker 3: of myself and just really being able to have a
[17:07] Speaker 3: clear sense of self with what has kept me so
[17:11] Speaker 3: mentally strong, um, and motivated to just, you know, regardless
[17:15] Speaker 3: of what I pursue, it's just a matter of what
[17:18] Speaker 3: I'm putting into it and how I view myself. And
[17:21] Speaker 3: I've just brought that to my platform and just it
[17:24] Speaker 3: resonated with people. And I think when we're talking about inspiration,
[17:26] Speaker 3: people are looking for inspiration. I think the biggest thing
[17:29] Speaker 3: is people are looking for real people that they can
[17:33] Speaker 3: see and say, okay, I can do that too. And
[17:35] Speaker 3: so with social media, you know, there's always this facade that,
[17:39] Speaker 3: People will post all of their wins and never their losses.
[17:43] Speaker 3: And it comes off so disingenuine. And when you're finding
[17:49] Speaker 3: people that are able to post all aspects themselves, and
[17:52] Speaker 3: I'm not saying you have to post your whole life
[17:54] Speaker 3: and put your whole life out there because I don't
[17:55] Speaker 3: even do that because it's my life and there still
[17:58] Speaker 3: needs to be some boundaries within that. But I give people...
[18:03] Speaker 3: just my losses as well, you know, because I'm human
[18:06] Speaker 3: just like everyone else. And so when people are able
[18:08] Speaker 3: to see that and be like, okay, but how did
[18:10] Speaker 3: she bounce back? And she was able to bounce back.
[18:12] Speaker 3: So that inspires others to do that too. And so,
[18:14] Speaker 3: you know, that's, that's how I kind of pivot and
[18:17] Speaker 3: use my story to inspire others.
[18:20] Speaker 1: Now, now part of that is journaling, you know, these journals.
[18:25] Speaker 1: How did that become the thought process? Was it something
[18:28] Speaker 1: you was doing personally and now you're sharing the philosophy
[18:32] Speaker 1: of with your followers and anybody who other people recommend
[18:37] Speaker 1: to buy your journals? Because it's hardback and it's also digital, correct?
[18:43] Speaker 3: Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. So like I said, that's
[18:47] Speaker 3: just something that I just have used throughout my whole
[18:50] Speaker 3: life and that has always helped me within, you know,
[18:54] Speaker 3: sometimes within my own mind, there's just so much going
[18:56] Speaker 3: on and journaling has always been a tool to just
[18:58] Speaker 3: kind of let it out, you know, letting my thoughts
[19:00] Speaker 3: out and really, With the guided journal that I have,
[19:04] Speaker 3: a lot of us, we have these thoughts, but sometimes
[19:07] Speaker 3: we have these questions that we don't even know what
[19:09] Speaker 3: to ask ourselves and what we want to even try
[19:11] Speaker 3: to figure out within ourselves. And so this guided journal
[19:14] Speaker 3: is a really great tool because it gives you a
[19:16] Speaker 3: prompt a day, questions that you probably wouldn't even think
[19:19] Speaker 3: to ask yourself, like I said, and it's just there.
[19:22] Speaker 3: And it allows people to have a deeper level of
[19:26] Speaker 3: reflection and And allows them to just look at so
[19:28] Speaker 3: many different aspects of their life within themselves, within their
[19:31] Speaker 3: friend groups, within, you know, whatever it is, their own career. Like,
[19:35] Speaker 3: are you happy? Like, is this something that maybe that
[19:37] Speaker 3: you truly wanted to pursue? Or is it something that
[19:39] Speaker 3: you kind of felt not forced into, but just kind
[19:43] Speaker 3: of guided into, if you will? Like, for me, I know,
[19:45] Speaker 3: you know, I, my parents wanted me to be like
[19:48] Speaker 3: a doctor and that wasn't something that was, that I
[19:51] Speaker 3: was truly interested in, you know, entertainment was always there
[19:53] Speaker 3: because it's what I knew and it's what I love.
[19:55] Speaker 3: And so it just allows people to just kind of
[19:58] Speaker 3: think of their life from so many different angles. And
[20:02] Speaker 3: it's just, it's, it's a helpful tool and it continues
[20:05] Speaker 3: to be a helpful tool. And that's why I continue
[20:07] Speaker 3: to just, the journal itself is just so successful. Right.
[20:11] Speaker 1: You know, when I think about it, I'm joining this
[20:13] Speaker 1: protege program for my company. And I realized that I'm
[20:19] Speaker 1: not a person who writes things down. And they force
[20:22] Speaker 1: me to, you know, basically journal things every month. They
[20:26] Speaker 1: ask me what I'm doing, what I'm doing, what I'm doing.
[20:28] Speaker 1: And then I have to tell them what I'm doing.
[20:30] Speaker 1: And what I've discovered is that I'm better for it.
[20:34] Speaker 1: And so because it forces me to think about the process.
[20:40] Speaker 1: Think about the experience of what I'm going through. And
[20:43] Speaker 1: then it also, I believe, enhances my communication with my employees.
[20:48] Speaker 2: So what you're.
[20:48] Speaker 1: Talking about, really, I'm doing, but I'm doing it from
[20:51] Speaker 1: a corporate standpoint, but it's enhancing my overall relationships with
[20:57] Speaker 1: the people that I communicate on a daily basis, which
[20:59] Speaker 1: are my employees, as well as my clients. And so
[21:03] Speaker 1: those affirmations and those motivation tools that you have really
[21:09] Speaker 1: can be applied in that entrepreneurial.
[21:12] Speaker 2: Space, correct? Absolutely.
[21:15] Speaker 3: Absolutely.
[21:16] Speaker 2: Absolutely.
[21:17] Speaker 1: Now, with that being said, entrepreneurs, you are an entrepreneur.
[21:24] Speaker 1: You started a business. Did you have a budget? Did
[21:28] Speaker 1: you have an idea of what type of revenue you
[21:31] Speaker 1: was going to generate?
[21:33] Speaker 2: Or you just, you know, jumped out there on faith?
[21:37] Speaker 3: I winded it. the entire way. I continue to wing it.
[21:41] Speaker 3: You know?
[21:43] Speaker 2: Come on, Ferris. You're my motivating queen.
[21:47] Speaker 3: You know, I just, I just say it. It's just,
[21:50] Speaker 3: I'm being honest, you know, when I started the business,
[21:53] Speaker 3: I had the vision for it.
[21:54] Speaker 4: Right.
[21:55] Speaker 3: But with being new to business completely, it just, you know,
[21:59] Speaker 3: when you try to go to banks with just, you
[22:02] Speaker 3: have a vision, but not necessarily not having the financial just,
[22:07] Speaker 3: I guess, record, if you will, to just show like, okay,
[22:11] Speaker 3: I'm looking for a loan for this much. I entertain that.
[22:14] Speaker 3: I went to my bank that I've been banking with
[22:16] Speaker 3: for years and immediately they're like, you know, you have
[22:19] Speaker 3: to show this much income revenue within your business within
[22:22] Speaker 3: the first year and we can give you that amount.
[22:24] Speaker 3: And it just wasn't feasible. And so I used my
[22:28] Speaker 3: own funds, what I was comfortable with putting into the business.
[22:33] Speaker 3: And I was just like, you know what, This is
[22:36] Speaker 3: something that I truly believe in. And if I believe
[22:38] Speaker 3: in it, like I said before, like it's just, you
[22:40] Speaker 3: have to be confident within yourself and within whatever it
[22:43] Speaker 3: is that you're doing and know that it's a good
[22:45] Speaker 3: quality product. And I can't stress quality enough because I
[22:50] Speaker 3: paid more than certain people would, you know, for their
[22:54] Speaker 3: first product initially, but I am such a firm believer
[22:56] Speaker 3: in you. If you can speak behind your quality, then
[23:00] Speaker 3: people will appreciate it. So anyways, I put my money
[23:03] Speaker 3: into the business. not really knowing what was going to happen,
[23:08] Speaker 3: but I knew I had two things. I knew I
[23:10] Speaker 3: had a really good product and then I knew I
[23:12] Speaker 3: had a really good community and that it was a
[23:14] Speaker 3: resource that people were looking for. And so I was
[23:17] Speaker 3: going to leverage my community, not just my community, but
[23:20] Speaker 3: just my platform that I had and just use that
[23:23] Speaker 3: to market my product. And so, you know, within a
[23:27] Speaker 3: few months of me just putting it out there, I
[23:29] Speaker 3: sold out and I'm like, okay, Let me just make
[23:32] Speaker 3: sure that wasn't a fluke. And, you know, I tried
[23:37] Speaker 3: it again and it happened again. I'm like, OK, this
[23:39] Speaker 3: is something we have something here. And so I just
[23:42] Speaker 3: continue with the money that I make from the product.
[23:46] Speaker 3: I just just try to double up every time with
[23:48] Speaker 3: how much inventory I'm able to get in.
[23:50] Speaker 2: Which it is.
[23:52] Speaker 3: Initially, I was bummed out because I wasn't being able
[23:56] Speaker 3: to get a loan.
[23:58] Speaker 1: From a bank.
[23:59] Speaker 3: But I think in the long run for me, from
[24:01] Speaker 3: my vision for my business, it was beneficial because it's
[24:05] Speaker 3: all within my hands. I put this into the product
[24:10] Speaker 3: in my business, and so I'm not having to deal
[24:12] Speaker 3: with these crazy interest rates. And just what I'm making
[24:16] Speaker 3: from the product initially, I just put it back into
[24:19] Speaker 3: my business. And like I said, I keep trying to
[24:21] Speaker 3: double up my inventory to just continue to make more revenue.
[24:26] Speaker 3: So like I said, I winged it and I did
[24:29] Speaker 3: the best that I could. I reached out to people
[24:30] Speaker 3: when I had questions and gained as much knowledge as
[24:33] Speaker 3: I could and just used that and it's been working
[24:36] Speaker 3: extremely well. And yeah, sometimes I think a lot of
[24:40] Speaker 3: us think we need to have the full package before
[24:42] Speaker 3: we actually pursue something. But I am the proof that
[24:48] Speaker 3: sometimes all you have to do is just Just start.
[24:51] Speaker 3: And I am such a believer. If you take the
[24:54] Speaker 3: steps and you're working hard and trying to get as
[24:56] Speaker 3: much knowledge as you can, that the resources and the
[24:59] Speaker 3: people and what you need will find you along the way.
[25:01] Speaker 3: And it's going to work out. And, you know, that's
[25:04] Speaker 3: my story. I'm sticking to it.
[25:06] Speaker 2: Well, guess what? It's a fantastic story. How can we
