[0:01] Speaker 1: As part of our nonstop coverage of the NFL.
[0:04] Speaker 2: They are NFL champions. The Seattle Seahawks have won Super
[0:08] Speaker 2: Bowl XLVIII.
[0:09] Speaker 1: This is Softee's weekly visit with Kevin Harlan.
[0:12] Speaker 3: He was like a pinball, banging off bodies. A 23-yard
[0:16] Speaker 3: catch and run.
[0:17] Speaker 1: Brought to you by the Emerald Queen Casino. Always entertaining.
[0:21] Speaker 4: The ball free. Picked up by Nozu.
[0:23] Speaker 3: Seattle has scored on another turnover.
[0:26] Speaker 1: Come down to the beautiful EQC Sportsbook to bet, watch,
[0:29] Speaker 1: and win all season long.
[0:31] Speaker 3: And the Seattle Seahawks have won Super Bowl 60 in
[0:35] Speaker 3: pretty dominating fashion.
[0:37] Speaker 1: On Sports Radio 93.3, KJR FM. Second down and 18.
[0:43] Speaker 4: Going deep, and.
[0:44] Speaker 2: He's got him at the goal line.
[0:47] Speaker 1: Caught Williams.
[0:48] Speaker 2: Touchdown. Made to the air.
[0:50] Speaker 1: They get by Moses to the end zone.
[0:52] Speaker 5: Caught.
[0:52] Speaker 1: Touchdown.
[0:53] Speaker 4: Flag thrown. Hunter got it.
[0:56] Speaker 5: Ah, the silky, smooth, legendary voice of one of the
[1:00] Speaker 5: greatest broadcasters the medium has to offer.
[1:03] Speaker 4: At least that's what he'll tell you.
[1:04] Speaker 5: Our friend from the NFL on Westwood One, the NFL
[1:08] Speaker 5: on CBS, all courtesy of the Emerald Queen Casino, fresh
[1:12] Speaker 5: off a day off on Monday night, refreshed and ready
[1:15] Speaker 5: to go, our friend Kevin Harlan.
[1:17] Speaker 4: How are you, pal?
[1:19] Speaker 2: I'm doing great, Dave. Good to be on. I cannot
[1:22] Speaker 2: figure out what's going on with your Seahawks from afar.
[1:27] Speaker 2: But I think they'll level off. I think they'll find
[1:30] Speaker 2: a steady path here.
[1:31] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[1:32] Speaker 2: And regroup. And, you know, it's tough. It is so
[1:36] Speaker 2: difficult in this league to repeat. We've seen, you know,
[1:39] Speaker 2: very few teams do it. Chiefs most recently. It's just difficult.
[1:46] Speaker 2: And you may have the same name plate on the
[1:48] Speaker 2: back of your jersey. But to try to replicate the
[1:50] Speaker 2: same feel in camp and through the season, the ups
[1:53] Speaker 2: and downs, and how you negotiate with those different things,
[1:56] Speaker 2: it becomes– You know, it becomes a challenge in the
[1:59] Speaker 2: second year. Guys get paid. Guys are now champions. They've
[2:03] Speaker 2: had a chance, you know, in the offseason. Maybe they've
[2:05] Speaker 2: exhaled a bit, or maybe they've worked harder, and it's
[2:07] Speaker 2: not worked out. Who knows? But you're different year to year,
[2:11] Speaker 2: and I think that's clearly maybe some of the growing
[2:14] Speaker 2: pains right now of the Seahawks trying to defend this title.
[2:17] Speaker 4: I think we all know the real problem here in Seattle, pal.
[2:20] Speaker 4: You know it. I know it. The issue is they
[2:22] Speaker 4: don't have it. Bulldog! That's the problem. All right.
[2:27] Speaker 1: Come on.
[2:28] Speaker 4: I mean, the issue, Kevin, they can't run the ball.
[2:32] Speaker 2: I mean, they got no running backs. And they had
[2:34] Speaker 2: the guy. Right. And they had the guy. They had
[2:36] Speaker 2: the guy. They had the guy. Who, by the way,
[2:39] Speaker 2: is the MVP probably through the first quarter of the season.
[2:42] Speaker 2: Him or Brock Purdy.
[2:43] Speaker 4: Right.
[2:44] Speaker 2: But Kenneth Walker, there's no way. I've done two Chiefs games,
[2:48] Speaker 2: two of their four games, and I got them again
[2:51] Speaker 2: this weekend. I've done two of their four games. Their 4-0,
[2:53] Speaker 2: they had a bye this past weekend. So I've done
[2:57] Speaker 2: two of the four games, and there is absolutely zero
[3:01] Speaker 2: doubt in my mind that if Walker were not back
[3:04] Speaker 2: there and doing what he's doing, there is no way
[3:08] Speaker 2: that team is 4-0. And that's not an indictment on
[3:12] Speaker 2: the team. It just shows you the difference Walker has made.
[3:15] Speaker 2: And here is just kind of an interesting little thing
[3:18] Speaker 2: that's going one level deeper. Because he has been so
[3:22] Speaker 2: incredible with his start, you're seeing now eight-man fronts. They're
[3:28] Speaker 2: filling the box with eight guys in the box trying
[3:32] Speaker 2: to stop him. Well, what that does, it opens up,
[3:35] Speaker 2: you know, things in the passing lane that had been
[3:37] Speaker 2: taken away. Mahomes had no running back in the previous
[3:41] Speaker 2: couple years. They're not one that, you know, frightened defenses
[3:44] Speaker 2: like Kenneth Walker. So they would drop guys back, too
[3:48] Speaker 2: high shell, the guys back there, and they're taking guys
[3:52] Speaker 2: out of the box because there's no one to run
[3:53] Speaker 2: the ball. Now you run the ball. Now you've got
[3:55] Speaker 2: to worry about Walker, who is still busting free and
[3:58] Speaker 2: finding big gains, big explosive runs. But now the passing
[4:03] Speaker 2: game has been able to expand a bit more. The
[4:07] Speaker 2: problem is they're losing guys with injuries. But the point
[4:10] Speaker 2: is that it's gotten Mahomes now back in a real
[4:15] Speaker 2: comfortable level The running game helps every quarterback. It's not
[4:20] Speaker 2: helping Darnold because he doesn't have one right now. Right.
[4:24] Speaker 2: But it is helping Mahomes, and he is playing well.
[4:29] Speaker 2: You know, kind of like even Matthew Stafford or even
[4:32] Speaker 2: with Josh, you know, that we saw in Los Angeles
[4:37] Speaker 2: on Monday night.
[4:37] Speaker 1: Yeah.
[4:38] Speaker 2: They both have running games. It helps the quarterback, and
[4:40] Speaker 2: thus the passing game thrives. So, you know, when you're
[4:43] Speaker 2: building a team, And John has done this. He's gone
[4:46] Speaker 2: from the inside out. He's gone from the lines and
[4:49] Speaker 2: gone backwards. He's gone out. And because of that, it
[4:54] Speaker 2: sets everything up when you can hit fire with a
[4:58] Speaker 2: guy like Jackson Smith and Jigba or Kenneth Walker. It
[5:04] Speaker 2: just helps these other parts really become what they should be,
[5:09] Speaker 2: what you draft them to be. But unfortunately, the Seahawks
[5:13] Speaker 2: are finding that you lose that running game, it affects
[5:15] Speaker 2: the quarterback who's pressing clearly, and the turnovers are there.
[5:19] Speaker 2: They've kind of always been part of his game, but
[5:21] Speaker 2: now they're really amplified, and you've got the kind of
[5:24] Speaker 2: season and the start to the year you have.
[5:26] Speaker 5: Yeah, well, running backs to me, Kevin, are typically, in
[5:29] Speaker 5: general terms, and you can feel free to steal this
[5:31] Speaker 5: analogy and use it on the air.
[5:33] Speaker 2: Sure, okay.
[5:33] Speaker 4: It's a phenomenal one.
[5:34] Speaker 2: Hold on. Let me get my pouch.
[5:36] Speaker 5: What is it again? They're like juice boxes, man. You
[5:39] Speaker 5: just suck what you can out of them, and then
[5:41] Speaker 5: you throw them away. That's what running backs typically are.
[5:44] Speaker 5: But Saquon Barkley in Philadelphia, after he left the Giants,
[5:48] Speaker 5: Kenny Walker now in Kansas City, are putting on shows
[5:52] Speaker 5: for people around the NFL. And there's a lot of
[5:54] Speaker 5: Seahawks fans, including me, wondering if the Seahawks made the
[5:57] Speaker 5: wrong investment in Rashid Shaheed over Kenny Walker. And people
[6:00] Speaker 5: would say, well, Kenny Walker didn't want to be here. Yeah,
[6:03] Speaker 5: because they weren't using him the way the Chiefs are
[6:07] Speaker 5: using him. My concern about K-9 has been the same
[6:10] Speaker 5: one for the last couple of weeks. Kevin, the guy's
[6:12] Speaker 5: on pace for 370 carries.
[6:15] Speaker 2: I know it.
[6:15] Speaker 4: Which is 150 more than he's ever had. How in
[6:18] Speaker 4: the world can he keep up that pace?
[6:21] Speaker 2: Well, he can't. And you've got the real dilemma that
[6:26] Speaker 2: is inevitable with him. And any running back in this
[6:31] Speaker 2: day and age, no back can– They're really cautious on
[6:39] Speaker 2: his carries and when they use them and how they
[6:42] Speaker 2: use them. Now, he runs a different style than Kenneth,
[6:45] Speaker 2: but they both run over the guards. They both run
[6:47] Speaker 2: over the center. They're inside the tackles. I mean, they're
[6:50] Speaker 2: inside runners, and that becomes it. But he's now a
[6:54] Speaker 2: three-down back with the Chiefs. He's catching the ball out
[6:57] Speaker 2: of the back. Things he did in Seattle, only they've
[6:59] Speaker 2: just multiplied it by two, three, or four. And so
[7:04] Speaker 2: the numbers, the touches... are really significant through four weeks.
[7:08] Speaker 2: So I know with this bye week they just had,
[7:11] Speaker 2: they got a rookie running back out of Nebraska, a
[7:14] Speaker 2: kid named Emmitt Johnson, who is not built like Kenneth Walker.
[7:19] Speaker 2: He is more of a slashing, a thinner, lighter running back.
[7:24] Speaker 2: He was the big 10 running back of the year
[7:27] Speaker 2: last year at Nebraska. So he comes with nice credentials.
[7:31] Speaker 2: He was a later round pick, I think a fifth
[7:33] Speaker 2: round pick, And I know they're going to start leaning
[7:37] Speaker 2: on him. They're going to have to. And I wouldn't
[7:39] Speaker 2: be surprised before– I wouldn't be surprised, Softie, before the
[7:45] Speaker 2: trade deadline, which is what now is in the first
[7:48] Speaker 2: part of November, if they make a deal for another
[7:52] Speaker 2: running back. Because clearly they have found the formula. Have
[7:57] Speaker 2: the threat to run and make sure this guy– can withstand,
[8:03] Speaker 2: can be a three-down back, or maybe now that they
[8:05] Speaker 2: got Walker, they get a guy that can be that
[8:08] Speaker 2: third down, take him out on third down. But this
[8:10] Speaker 2: is what he likes. He likes a lot of work.
[8:12] Speaker 2: Can he stay healthy? A lot of touches. A lot
[8:16] Speaker 2: through the first month. But he is the MVP. And
[8:19] Speaker 2: the biggest reason why the Chiefs are 4-0.
[8:21] Speaker 5: Yeah, Kevin Harlan's with us, obviously, of the NFL and
[8:26] Speaker 5: Westwood 1, the NFL and CBS, the NBA on Amazon.
[8:30] Speaker 5: We'll talk about that in a minute, by the way,
[8:32] Speaker 5: if we have time. But we got a big one
[8:34] Speaker 5: Thursday night, man. Have you seen the Broncos in person
[8:37] Speaker 5: yet this year?
[8:38] Speaker 2: I've done them twice, and I've had them in a
[8:40] Speaker 2: couple weeks again, so I've seen a lot of them.
[8:42] Speaker 4: Gotcha.
[8:42] Speaker 5: So Denver's 3-2, trailing the 4-0 Chiefs, and the Chiefs
[8:46] Speaker 5: have the tiebreaker for now. Seahawks are 3-2, trailing 5-0
[8:50] Speaker 5: San Francisco, and the Niners have the tiebreaker for now.
[8:54] Speaker 5: I mean, it feels like a mammoth game for week
[8:56] Speaker 5: six of the NFL season, man, for both these guys.
[8:59] Speaker 4: I don't want to be too hyperbolic, but this is
[9:01] Speaker 4: pretty damn big.
[9:03] Speaker 2: Huge, yeah. And, you know, the Rams— I know they're
[9:07] Speaker 2: kind of trying to work their way through some things
[9:09] Speaker 2: right here. They were bad in Australia. They lose the
[9:11] Speaker 2: other night at home on Monday. And so, you know,
[9:16] Speaker 2: they're but but they are they're a terrific team, as
[9:20] Speaker 2: we know. I mean, and they're going to be there
[9:22] Speaker 2: at the end, right with the Hawks. And this is
[9:25] Speaker 2: what you and I talked about early in this. in
[9:28] Speaker 2: our little new season here, that the division itself is
[9:33] Speaker 2: so treacherous, you just hope you can survive your division,
[9:36] Speaker 2: let alone the conference. And that's going to become the
[9:40] Speaker 2: thing that we're going to have to watch, clearly, because
[9:43] Speaker 2: the Niners are off and running now. If an injury,
[9:47] Speaker 2: and they lost Bosa for a while, and we know
[9:50] Speaker 2: McCaffrey is there. Evans has been a stud in every sense.
[9:55] Speaker 2: He has given them He's not giving them a JSN feel,
[9:59] Speaker 2: but he's giving them, you know, range and size and
[10:02] Speaker 2: a catching radius, which they have not had. And they
[10:04] Speaker 2: get Samuel back and they're using him in gadget ways.
[10:08] Speaker 2: And that's really helping San Francisco. I mean, you just
[10:10] Speaker 2: saw him. I'm not telling you anything you don't know. So,
[10:13] Speaker 2: so that team is, is legit. I mean, they are,
[10:16] Speaker 2: They are really good. And Purdy has kind of found his,
[10:21] Speaker 2: whatever he envisioned he was going to be, whatever he
[10:23] Speaker 2: thought he could be, I don't know if he has
[10:26] Speaker 2: kind of gone. He just looks relaxed and confident. I
[10:31] Speaker 2: think he trusts that line. He knows he's got CMC
[10:34] Speaker 2: in back of him. And he's got Evans. And, of course,
[10:37] Speaker 2: he's got a Hall of Fame tight end in Kittle. So,
[10:39] Speaker 2: I mean, like, they're rocking, as you saw. So back
[10:43] Speaker 2: to your original question, Denver comes in. Denver is hungry
[10:47] Speaker 2: and Chiefs are, they're kind of in the same situation
[10:50] Speaker 2: you're in because the Chiefs are unbeaten and they play
[10:54] Speaker 2: 0-5 LA Chargers this week at home. So, you know,
[11:00] Speaker 2: you would, I mean, just logically think, well, they got
[11:02] Speaker 2: a pretty good chance to win that game and they'll
[11:04] Speaker 2: be favored. Although the Chargers, they'll explode at some point.
[11:08] Speaker 2: It may be too late, but they're going to start
[11:11] Speaker 2: coming up with some wins. But your game is tough.
[11:14] Speaker 2: And they've changed the play caller now. They've gone from
[11:17] Speaker 2: Peyton to Davis Webb. Now they've gone back to Sean Peyton.
[11:20] Speaker 2: They still can't run the ball, which is killing them.
[11:23] Speaker 2: And so they've got a problem much like yours.
[11:25] Speaker 4: Yeah, neither team can run the damn ball.
[11:27] Speaker 2: No, I know. You've got to run the ball. You
[11:29] Speaker 2: cannot play. You cannot be a force in this league
[11:34] Speaker 2: because these defensive coordinators have figured out how to slow
[11:38] Speaker 2: the passing game. And now teams say, all right, let's cycle.
[11:42] Speaker 2: Everything is cyclical. Let's go back to running it so
[11:44] Speaker 2: we can loosen up the back end of the defense.
[11:46] Speaker 2: And if you don't have the guy. you're, you're, you're
[11:50] Speaker 2: in trouble. And, and, and the Seahawks are kind of fine.
[11:53] Speaker 2: When is Price back? Is he, is he week eight?
[11:56] Speaker 5: He's got, I think he's got two or three more weeks,
[11:59] Speaker 5: but that was just the initial four game IR.
[12:02] Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah.
[12:03] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[12:03] Speaker 2: Who knows?
[12:04] Speaker 4: Who knows?
[12:04] Speaker 2: I've got a lot of hope for that kid. I,
[12:06] Speaker 2: we saw him opening night. I thought he looked really
[12:08] Speaker 2: sharp for a rookie in his first game, big stage.
[12:12] Speaker 2: He looked good. But I know that he's now injured and,
[12:15] Speaker 2: and that's hurting that running game for sure.
[12:17] Speaker 4: Yeah, Charbonnet is back at some point, not tomorrow.
[12:20] Speaker 2: Yeah, Charbonnet is out there in the wings. He's trying
[12:22] Speaker 2: to get his knee back, and that's a shame that
[12:25] Speaker 2: he can't be a part of this. Because you've got
[12:27] Speaker 2: some guys, they're just injured.
[12:29] Speaker 5: Kevin, you mentioned the Chargers. Man, I'm looking at their schedule,
[12:32] Speaker 5: and you mentioned it. You got the Chiefs and Chargers
[12:36] Speaker 5: this weekend, obviously, on Sunday for TV, which answers the question.
[12:40] Speaker 4: Where will Kevin be for TV on Sunday? Kansas City. Yeah, Chargers.
[12:45] Speaker 5: And then after the Chiefs, Harbaugh's got the Rams in L.A., obviously,
[12:49] Speaker 5: in their home stadium. He's got the Texans, who are
[12:52] Speaker 5: better than their record shows, I think. And then he's
[12:55] Speaker 5: got Baltimore. I mean, they're staring, oh, a nine or
[12:58] Speaker 5: what an eight right in the kisser, man.
[13:01] Speaker 2: Dave, you and I talked, we said this before the season.
[13:05] Speaker 2: That schedule is a murderer's row. And even with a
[13:08] Speaker 2: good team, I think the best we were kind of thinking, well,
[13:11] Speaker 2: if they can be 500 or close to it after
[13:15] Speaker 2: the first eight, nine weeks of the year, you know,
[13:18] Speaker 2: that would be a huge win. But I don't know
[13:22] Speaker 2: that anyone thought, and I think people thought, okay, Walker
[13:26] Speaker 2: will affect that Kansas City offense for sure. And he
[13:29] Speaker 2: is the Super Bowl MVP. And clearly he was a
[13:32] Speaker 2: factor in the success of your team last year when
[13:35] Speaker 2: he was out there. But I don't know that anybody
[13:38] Speaker 2: thought they would be 4-0. With a kid they signed
[13:42] Speaker 2: off the street in May to be their starting left starting.
[13:46] Speaker 2: Left tackle and a quarterback who ripped two major ligaments
[13:50] Speaker 2: in his knee, coming back nine months to the day
[13:54] Speaker 2: from that, would he be the same? And then you're
[13:56] Speaker 2: counting on Walker for a team, you know? I mean,
[13:59] Speaker 2: like the left tackle, the quarterback, and really nothing that
[14:04] Speaker 2: scares you at receiver. How, and Kelsey coming off of
[14:08] Speaker 2: kind of a so-so year, another year older, I mean, really,
[14:11] Speaker 2: you'd have to be a nut to say, nope, Chiefs
[14:13] Speaker 2: will be 4-0. Are you kidding me? There's no way.
[14:17] Speaker 2: So I think we agreed the Chargers, if they could
[14:20] Speaker 2: have been 500, that would have been a huge win
[14:24] Speaker 2: and then navigate the second half of the schedule. Now
[14:28] Speaker 2: they're 0-5. They're going to Arrowhead. They got a couple
[14:31] Speaker 2: tough ones after this, including the Rams. I mean, it's
[14:36] Speaker 2: going to be difficult. Really, really difficult. And, you know,
[14:41] Speaker 2: here's the thing about this stuff. Is you got a
[14:44] Speaker 2: quarterback in Herbert. who everybody has just drooled over, but
[14:48] Speaker 2: really has never done anything beyond the regular season. You know,
[14:53] Speaker 2: he's not been a big winner in the postseason. And
[14:56] Speaker 2: I think people, I was talking to a real well-known
[14:59] Speaker 2: NFL writer, and he says, I don't get it with Herbert.
[15:02] Speaker 2: He says, I don't know, like we've all kind of
[15:05] Speaker 2: anointed this guy. And yet, yeah, maybe there's some very
[15:09] Speaker 2: solid individual numbers, and they are, you can't deny them.
[15:12] Speaker 2: but the, you know, I don't know. I, people don't
[15:15] Speaker 2: see it. So I don't know if that's an issue
[15:18] Speaker 2: at the offensive coordinator, McDaniel coming in and trying to,
[15:22] Speaker 2: you know, you know, if this guy is used, if
[15:25] Speaker 2: this Herbert is used to driving Ferraris and now they
[15:29] Speaker 2: put them in a, you know, in a truck, like that's,
[15:31] Speaker 2: that doesn't work. That's hard. That's, that's a, that's a
[15:35] Speaker 2: round in a square. So I, I don't know where
[15:38] Speaker 2: this sits and what's going to happen, but, But I
[15:41] Speaker 2: know they've got kind of a critical point of the
[15:43] Speaker 2: season coming up where it's going to be a wash.
[15:46] Speaker 2: And they may be trading and getting out of it
[15:48] Speaker 2: and saying, forget the season. Let's protect the quarterback at
[15:51] Speaker 2: all costs. But a minor injury shelves him. Let's get
[15:54] Speaker 2: these young guys developed. I mean, they've really got some
[15:56] Speaker 2: big decisions to make. But they're looking at 0-7 right now.
[15:59] Speaker 2: Kansas City this week, they could be 0-6. And then
[16:02] Speaker 2: the Rams, right? The Rams the next week after that, Dave?
[16:04] Speaker 1: Right.
[16:05] Speaker 4: Right.
[16:05] Speaker 2: Yeah. That's 0-7. You're done. You're done.
[16:10] Speaker 4: Unbelievable. Who's the best team in football?
[16:12] Speaker 2: You're done.
[16:13] Speaker 4: I did hear that. I did. Wait, say it again.
[16:15] Speaker 4: For those in the back, say it again. One more time.
[16:18] Speaker 2: You're done.
[16:18] Speaker 5: Done. Well, guess what? We're almost done. But I got
[16:23] Speaker 5: to ask you, the parody in the NFL is just ridiculous.
[16:26] Speaker 4: Ridiculous.
[16:27] Speaker 5: And this is now, it feels like the second, third
[16:30] Speaker 5: year in a row that we've just had this, you know,
[16:32] Speaker 5: who's the best team in the NFL?
[16:34] Speaker 4: I don't know.
[16:34] Speaker 5: I mean, Buffalo, San Francisco, Minnesota's not going away. For
[16:38] Speaker 5: God's sakes, the Chiefs may be back. Who's the best
[16:41] Speaker 5: team in the league right now, on paper, in your mind?
[16:44] Speaker 2: Well, I did San Francisco the other day against Denver
[16:47] Speaker 2: and then watched them against you guys the other day.
[16:51] Speaker 2: And it's hard to deny that that is not the
[16:54] Speaker 2: best team in pro football right now. Right now. Yeah.
[17:00] Speaker 2: You know the characters. We don't have to go down
[17:02] Speaker 2: the list. And it's easy. Anybody could say, well, at
[17:06] Speaker 2: five and oh, of course, it's easy to say. I
[17:08] Speaker 2: still think Buffalo is a player. Clearly Kansas City at 4-0.
[17:14] Speaker 2: I still think Denver is, they're a better October and
[17:18] Speaker 2: November and December team. September, they traditionally, and this is
[17:24] Speaker 2: Sean Payton. I don't know if his camps are harder
[17:26] Speaker 2: than his record in September is like 33 and 31.
[17:31] Speaker 2: And then he gets into the month of October. He's
[17:33] Speaker 2: like 55 and 18. Like it's the best October record
[17:38] Speaker 2: of any head coach in pro football history. And so
[17:41] Speaker 2: they become an October, November, December team. So I, I
[17:45] Speaker 2: still think it's Kansas city, Denver, Buffalo. And then I
[17:50] Speaker 2: don't know. I mean, and the South, I mean, who, who,
[17:52] Speaker 2: like the Texans, I, what a horrible start. And the
[17:59] Speaker 2: running back is out and they made the trade and like,
[18:02] Speaker 2: I don't know. I, that's, that's a flip of the
[18:05] Speaker 2: coin in there. I mean, I guess that's right. You've
[18:08] Speaker 2: got to say Jacksonville. And they're answering the bell with
[18:13] Speaker 2: wins against solid teams. So I've got to go with
[18:17] Speaker 2: those teams out of the AFC right now and amongst
[18:20] Speaker 2: the best. You can't turn your head on any of
[18:23] Speaker 2: those teams. Then NFC, I'll stick with. I still think
[18:27] Speaker 2: the Hawks, if they can just get something in the backfield, whatever,
[18:32] Speaker 2: get something. Chardonnay or Price or whoever or make a deal.
[18:36] Speaker 2: Maybe they're going to make a trade.
[18:36] Speaker 4: I don't know.
[18:38] Speaker 2: But they need to get the quarterback help because he's
[18:41] Speaker 2: clearly pressing. Everything's tilting toward JSN, and he can't become
[18:45] Speaker 2: the receiver because he's got so much attention. And they're locking.
[18:49] Speaker 2: They've got two guys, three guys. He's swarmed every time
[18:52] Speaker 2: the ball's in his direction. He is an incredible receiver.
[18:56] Speaker 2: It's not his fault. Everything is slanted in his direction
[19:00] Speaker 2: because he's the most important thing you've got to stop.
[19:03] Speaker 2: right now in the seattle.
[19:04] Speaker 5: Offense yeah you know what i'll i'll take a little
[19:07] Speaker 5: chardonnay right now how about a little pinot how about
[19:09] Speaker 5: a little cabernet i mean anything anything in the backfield
[19:13] Speaker 5: man all right kevin you're the man we got uh.
[19:15] Speaker 2: A little beast mode how about a little bit of
[19:18] Speaker 2: that let's get let's get that rascal suited up and
[19:20] Speaker 2: see if he can give us a game or two.
[19:22] Speaker 5: You know what's funny my wife and I were watching
[19:24] Speaker 5: some Marshawn Lynch tapes last night. And we actually thought
[19:28] Speaker 5: about that. We're like, they did that back in the
[19:30] Speaker 5: day with Carol. They brought him back for the end
[19:32] Speaker 5: of the year. He's only 40. I mean, what do
[19:35] Speaker 5: you think? You want to give the old man a call?
[19:38] Speaker 2: Oh, I don't know. That guy, you know, I don't know, man,
[19:42] Speaker 2: but boy, I thought to him and what he could
[19:45] Speaker 2: do with it. If they had a guy like that,
[19:48] Speaker 2: who just, who number one, you were afraid to tackle
[19:50] Speaker 2: because he just, you know, beat the heck out of you.
[19:54] Speaker 2: And he just had this flair and kind of took
[19:57] Speaker 2: pressure off other guys because he kind of wanted the
[20:01] Speaker 2: spotlight on him. And really what he was doing was
[20:03] Speaker 2: taking the pressure off the team. I mean, you know,
[20:06] Speaker 2: he just did some invaluable stuff. That was just like a,
[20:08] Speaker 2: that was just a great, Move. John made that move,
[20:12] Speaker 2: didn't he? John got him there.
[20:13] Speaker 4: Yeah, John and Peyton.
[20:14] Speaker 2: For Buffalo, yeah. No, that's typical. Of course he did.
[20:17] Speaker 2: So he may have something up his sleeve. I don't know.
[20:21] Speaker 2: John may have something up his sleeve. He's going to
[20:22] Speaker 2: have to. Because you hate to waste any of these
[20:26] Speaker 2: guys in a primary. That was kind of my point
[20:28] Speaker 2: with Herbert. Like, you hate to have a season with
[20:31] Speaker 2: a guy that is your cornerstone, your franchise quarterback. And
[20:36] Speaker 2: yet you can't get wins. I mean, it's like kind
[20:38] Speaker 2: of a wasted year. It's like, oh, my, what are
[20:41] Speaker 2: we doing? Like, what are we doing? This guy, you know,
[20:43] Speaker 2: he only has so many. There's almost so much gas
[20:45] Speaker 2: in the tank. And I don't know. It's too bad.
[20:49] Speaker 2: Really a shame.
[20:49] Speaker 5: Kevin, you're the best. Chiefs, Chargers, TV, Commanders, and Niners Monday.
[20:57] Speaker 4: Great stuff.
[20:58] Speaker 5: And then NBA starts next Friday with Houston and San Antonio.
[21:02] Speaker 4: There we go. Buckle up. And we'll talk in a week.
[21:05] Speaker 4: All right, buddy?
[21:07] Speaker 2: You're out of control, man.
[21:09] Speaker 4: See you, man.
[21:10] Speaker 2: I'll be back.
[21:12] Speaker 1: Love you.
[21:12] Speaker 4: Kevin Harlan with us. And yes, I just snorted live
[21:15] Speaker 4: on the air.
[21:16] Speaker 2: What is all that about?
[21:18] Speaker 4: Come on, dude.
[21:18] Speaker 2: We've got children out there listening. This is a family show.
[21:22] Speaker 2: This is a family show.
[21:24] Speaker 4: We're way beyond that, man.
[21:26] Speaker 2: All right.
[21:27] Speaker 5: Good stuff. Kevin, we're going to break. We're going to
[21:29] Speaker 5: hear from the head coach of the Dogs at 6
[21:31] Speaker 5: on 93.3 KJRFM.
