[0:37] Speaker 3: All right, well, we got some bad news to report here, guys,
[0:40] Speaker 3: on the air. The Wilner wonderful winning streak has come
[0:45] Speaker 3: to an end. Pittsburgh defeating UCF, but they did not
[0:49] Speaker 3: cover the seven-point spread. They won by five, which means
[0:54] Speaker 3: our guy's going to bounce back. So I would recommend
[0:57] Speaker 3: sticking around for Wilner's winner. The Wendalorian will bounce back.
[1:01] Speaker 3: He will find his way yet again on the radio program.

[1:20] Speaker 3: save money. You'll save 15%. John, the question is, much
[1:24] Speaker 3: like you will find your way and we have confidence
[1:26] Speaker 3: that you will find your way as a handicapper, will
[1:29] Speaker 3: the Husky offense find their way? very soon with the
[1:33] Speaker 3: Mon Williams and this broken down running game and underperforming
[1:38] Speaker 3: offensive line. What do you think you see from the
[1:40] Speaker 3: dogs after two weeks against wazoo and Utah state pal?
[1:44] Speaker 4: Uh, that's pretty grim at this point.
[1:48] Speaker 5: I don't know that you can kind of make it, uh,
[1:52] Speaker 5: sugarcoat it at this, you know, based on what's going
[1:55] Speaker 5: on on the field, what's going on in the injury tent, uh,
[2:00] Speaker 5: certainly the injuries have.
[2:01] Speaker 4: Played a role, but I think that there's a lot,
[2:03] Speaker 4: there's a lot wrong. It's everything. You don't have a
[2:07] Speaker 4: situation like this with just one thing. It's everything.
[2:12] Speaker 5: Nothing is happening right for them. I don't think Williams is,
[2:17] Speaker 5: you know, doesn't look comfortable. The line's having trouble. They
[2:19] Speaker 5: can't run the ball. And I don't, you know, I
[2:21] Speaker 5: don't know that they've got enough playmakers at receiver to
[2:24] Speaker 5: compensate for those things. I, it's just kind.
[2:27] Speaker 4: Of bad all around.
[2:28] Speaker 5: Now there's plenty of time, But the competition is going
[2:31] Speaker 5: to get a lot tougher. I mean, Idaho State scored
[2:34] Speaker 5: 29 on Utah State, and the Huskies scored 16.
[2:36] Speaker 6: So have you seen enough to declare it's over? I mean,
[2:41] Speaker 6: straight up, is it over for us to have playoff
[2:45] Speaker 6: hopes for the Washington Huskies in 2026?
[2:47] Speaker 5: I'd say it's a medically induced coma.
[2:53] Speaker 4: Not totally over. Wow.
[2:55] Speaker 3: Jeez.
[2:55] Speaker 4: There's still, there's still.
[2:56] Speaker 5: Time, but, but it's, I mean, you look at them
[2:59] Speaker 5: and you've got to think, all right, how, how is
[3:01] Speaker 5: the offense going to improve enough to win some of
[3:06] Speaker 5: the games they got coming up?
[3:07] Speaker 2: Right.
[3:08] Speaker 5: I mean, USC, Ohio in Oregon. I, well, we can
[3:13] Speaker 5: talk about the docs, but Indiana, there's just too many games.
[3:16] Speaker 4: They got to get to 10 and two.
[3:18] Speaker 6: Right.
[3:18] Speaker 5: I don't see how they can get with what we've seen.
[3:21] Speaker 5: I don't see how they get to 10 and two
[3:24] Speaker 5: at this point.
[3:24] Speaker 4: Yeah.
[3:25] Speaker 3: Well, we were talking the last hour with Greg and Mario, John.
[3:28] Speaker 3: You met them. You hung out with them. You broke
[3:29] Speaker 3: bread with them. Yeah, the honks. About the over-under 7.5
[3:33] Speaker 3: on Washington. So we've gone from debating whether or not
[3:36] Speaker 3: they could win 10 to make the CFP to whether
[3:40] Speaker 3: or not they can win 8 and hit the over
[3:43] Speaker 3: this year. So that shows you kind of where we're at.
[3:46] Speaker 3: after two games but you know go back to what
[3:48] Speaker 3: you were talking about with the multiple layers of problems
[3:51] Speaker 3: now with the football team the run game the pass
[3:54] Speaker 3: game I think you may have written about this or
[3:56] Speaker 3: talked about this Jed Fish doesn't in name have an
[3:59] Speaker 3: offensive coordinator he's got JP Lossman on his staff as
[4:04] Speaker 3: the quarterback's coach he's got Matt Cavanaugh as a senior
[4:07] Speaker 3: offensive assistant, Kevin Cummings as the pass game coordinator. But
[4:11] Speaker 3: there is no offensive coordinator in name on this team.
[4:15] Speaker 3: Is that a problem, you think?
[4:19] Speaker 5: I think that it is something they are going to
[4:21] Speaker 5: need to look at very, very closely in the offseason
[4:25] Speaker 5: if this doesn't improve markedly. Because it's not just a
[4:30] Speaker 5: two-game sample size here. We got 12 games from last year.
[4:35] Speaker 5: And we all know what happened when they played defenses
[4:39] Speaker 5: that had equivalent.
[4:41] Speaker 4: Or more talent, they couldn't do anything.
[4:44] Speaker 5: And now if they go through a second season where
[4:47] Speaker 5: they're struggling against the, the real good teams on their schedule,
[4:51] Speaker 5: I think that they're going to have to look at it.
[4:53] Speaker 5: I don't expect that fish is going to make any
[4:54] Speaker 5: changes in season at all, but I think you get
[4:58] Speaker 5: to December and they haven't, you know, improved much from
[5:03] Speaker 5: last year.
[5:04] Speaker 4: And, He's going to have to look at that.
[5:06] Speaker 5: The thing is, the head coaching role is so different
[5:09] Speaker 5: now than it was even three or four years ago.
[5:12] Speaker 4: I just, I don't know.
[5:13] Speaker 5: I think you've got to have somebody who is completely
[5:16] Speaker 5: focused on your offense and doesn't also have to do
[5:19] Speaker 5: press conferences and go talk to donors and do media stuff.
[5:24] Speaker 4: Anyhow, that's just my thought.
[5:26] Speaker 7: I don't disagree with that at all.
[5:28] Speaker 6: I do think, though, that there's been a lot of
[5:30] Speaker 6: Jed Fish play calls that have resulted in wide open
[5:35] Speaker 6: wide receivers, wide open running back like Trey Cooley out
[5:39] Speaker 6: of the flat with an entire half of a field
[5:42] Speaker 6: to run for a touchdown. and those guys aren't making
[5:45] Speaker 6: the plays. So I'm wondering, at what point do we
[5:48] Speaker 6: give Jed a break, one, because he's without a receiver
[5:52] Speaker 6: and is starting two running backs, and two, that he's
[5:55] Speaker 6: calling these plays that aren't working and the guys just
[5:59] Speaker 6: aren't making the plays?
[6:02] Speaker 4: Well, true. I mean, the personnel is definitely an issue.
[6:05] Speaker 5: That's why I said it's everything. It's never one thing
[6:08] Speaker 5: when you got this many, when it's this bad, right? But,
[6:12] Speaker 5: It's also Washington State and Utah State. So I think
[6:17] Speaker 5: we need to wait and see what happens when they
[6:20] Speaker 5: do play.
[6:22] Speaker 4: They got Iowa. They got Penn State, USC, UCLA, I think.
[6:28] Speaker 4: So let's see.
[6:28] Speaker 5: But again, they struggled to score for, what, 50 minutes
[6:34] Speaker 5: against the Cougars? Kansas State just rolled up 34 on
[6:39] Speaker 5: Washington State. They struggled to score against Iowa.
[6:42] Speaker 4: Utah State.
[6:43] Speaker 5: Idaho State scored 29 on them. So they have not
[6:48] Speaker 5: played very good opponents, and they're struggling.
[6:51] Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, I agree with that, with what both
[6:53] Speaker 3: you guys are saying. I do think some of this
[6:55] Speaker 3: is on the players, but I also think even if
[6:57] Speaker 3: those guys make those plays that we're talking about, Des Roebuck,
[7:01] Speaker 3: Trey Cooley, Wright, whatever, it's still way too much of
[7:04] Speaker 3: a grind. It should not be that hard. It's not
[7:08] Speaker 3: like those two plays would have equaled 50 points and
[7:11] Speaker 3: the Huskies win the game by 60 on Saturday. They
[7:14] Speaker 3: still are in this unbelievable grind to win these games
[7:18] Speaker 3: with Utah State and Washington State. I've got maybe a
[7:22] Speaker 3: little more hope for the pass game, John, than I
[7:24] Speaker 3: do the run game. Dick asked you to call it
[7:28] Speaker 3: right now. I think their run game is in a
[7:30] Speaker 3: massive amount of trouble. I am big time freaked out
[7:33] Speaker 3: about their run game, right? They got their top two
[7:35] Speaker 3: guys are out. And even with those guys healthy, I
[7:38] Speaker 3: don't know how much of a difference it really would
[7:40] Speaker 3: have made. So what happened? I mean, you mentioned the
[7:42] Speaker 3: multiple levels. Is it the coordinator thing? Is that this
[7:45] Speaker 3: team was pumped up too much? The line is not
[7:48] Speaker 3: as good as we thought. The quarterback is regressing. I mean,
[7:51] Speaker 3: give us kind of your pie chart. Like how much
[7:55] Speaker 3: percentage would the coach get? How much percentage would the
[7:57] Speaker 3: quarterback get? The line, the talent, break it down for me.
[8:01] Speaker 6: Well, that's, yeah.
[8:03] Speaker 5: I mean, it does all start up front, but that's also,
[8:09] Speaker 5: starting up front includes coaching on a day-to-day basis, includes
[8:15] Speaker 5: talent evaluation and player development. It's not just how are
[8:19] Speaker 5: those five guys doing for 60 minutes on Saturday.
[8:23] Speaker 4: So much goes.
[8:24] Speaker 5: Into creating an effective offense against players high level of opposition.
[8:32] Speaker 4: That's the thing.
[8:33] Speaker 5: I mean, they can't run the ball. What's going to
[8:35] Speaker 5: happen against Iowa. If they can't run the ball, right.
[8:38] Speaker 5: That's going to affect the passing game because it's all connected.
[8:41] Speaker 4: What to me, I look at them right now.
[8:43] Speaker 5: And I think their best play is when DeMond Williams
[8:45] Speaker 5: has to just make something out.
[8:46] Speaker 4: Of nothing with his legs.
[8:48] Speaker 5: But that is not a strategy that gets you to
[8:52] Speaker 5: 10 wins. That is a desperation plan B that gets
[8:57] Speaker 5: you to seven and five.
[8:58] Speaker 7: Well, it's also a strategy to get your quarterback knocked
[9:00] Speaker 7: out in week four.
[9:02] Speaker 3: Right.
[9:03] Speaker 4: Yes.
[9:04] Speaker 6: But John Wilner joining us. John, let's talk a little
[9:07] Speaker 6: bit about the defense. I mean, we always harp on
[9:11] Speaker 6: the negative, right? Is the defense as advertised?
[9:17] Speaker 5: It's hard to know, given the opposition. Washington State has
[9:20] Speaker 5: the worst offense in the country.
[9:22] Speaker 4: I mean, 138th out of 138 in scoring.
[9:28] Speaker 6: And yards well but half of those games are against
[9:31] Speaker 6: the huskies i mean half the reason is because they
[9:34] Speaker 6: played washington probably.
[9:37] Speaker 5: Well they then they only scored seven against kansas state
[9:40] Speaker 5: right i so i don't know i think the defense
[9:44] Speaker 5: is pretty good i really do i thought the defense
[9:47] Speaker 5: was better than avatar expected last year and better coached
[9:51] Speaker 5: than the offense and i think the same thing's probably
[9:54] Speaker 5: going to play out this year and what does the
[9:55] Speaker 5: defense have It does have a full-time coordinator.
[9:59] Speaker 4: And he's very good.
[10:01] Speaker 5: And he was very good when he was a coordinator
[10:03] Speaker 5: previously in the Big Ten.
[10:05] Speaker 7: I don't know.
[10:06] Speaker 5: I'm not saying it's all Jed Fish, you know, not
[10:10] Speaker 5: having an offensive coordinator. There's a lot to it, but
[10:13] Speaker 5: I do think that they are going to have to
[10:14] Speaker 5: evaluate that in the offseason if nothing changes.
[10:18] Speaker 4: The defense.
[10:19] Speaker 5: is good enough to keep them in a lot of games.
[10:22] Speaker 5: I think from what we saw last year, what we've
[10:24] Speaker 5: seen this year, the way some of these guys are playing,
[10:27] Speaker 5: but you also get to the point when your offense
[10:29] Speaker 5: is not producing.
[10:31] Speaker 4: The defense just wears down over the course of the season.
[10:33] Speaker 5: Because every possession is like, we can't afford to give
[10:37] Speaker 5: up a touchdown or we're going to lose the game.
[10:39] Speaker 5: And that mentally wears on those guys.
[10:41] Speaker 3: Well, what you need right now is the defense to
[10:43] Speaker 3: give you some real breaks, give you short fields, put
[10:47] Speaker 3: the offense in a position where they can get some
[10:49] Speaker 3: easy scores. And that's going to be what you'll ask
[10:51] Speaker 3: them to do maybe the entire year if this keeps
[10:54] Speaker 3: up with the offense. But John Willner is with us. John,
[10:57] Speaker 3: you mentioned Oregon. Oregon goes to Stillwater, Oklahoma, and they
[11:01] Speaker 3: get their ass kicked. Honestly, like the score doesn't even
[11:04] Speaker 3: show how bad that game was. They gave up like
[11:07] Speaker 3: over 250 yards rushing to Oklahoma State, 500 yards of offense.
[11:12] Speaker 3: They got destroyed in that game. How shocking was that
[11:15] Speaker 3: to see that happen in Stillwater by a team that
[11:18] Speaker 3: lost to Tulsa last week?
[11:20] Speaker 5: A team that lost to Tulsa scored 10 points against Tulsa,
[11:24] Speaker 5: gained like 250 yards, then scores 39 points. and gains
[11:29] Speaker 5: 550 yards against Oregon that has a defense with like
[11:34] Speaker 5: eight future NFL draft picks, right? It was shocking. And
[11:38] Speaker 5: I was thinking about it over the weekend. Well, if
[11:40] Speaker 5: you're a Washington fan, at least you're.
[11:42] Speaker 4: Not Oregon, right? I mean, you guys got it good
[11:46] Speaker 4: in that regard. You're 2-0. And the Ducks are in
[11:49] Speaker 4: a world of hurt. They've got a lot of problems.
[11:54] Speaker 5: Dan Lanning, I think, made two big mistakes when he
[11:57] Speaker 5: promoted from within with his coordinators. Their offensive line, kind
[12:03] Speaker 5: of like Washington's offensive line, that's a problem spot. They
[12:09] Speaker 5: don't look fully engaged. They have played eight quarters, and
[12:13] Speaker 5: six of them they've gotten a tar kicked out of them.
[12:16] Speaker 4: Because Boise State dominated the first half. Yeah. So here you've.
[12:19] Speaker 5: Got a team picked to contend for the title. What
[12:22] Speaker 5: were they, number two or three preseason? You know, $ 40
[12:26] Speaker 5: million roster, pros all over the place, and they stink.
[12:32] Speaker 5: And Dan Lanning does not have a lot of time
[12:34] Speaker 5: to figure it out because they've got to go to
[12:36] Speaker 5: the Coliseum in 10 days, 12 days. And USC looks
[12:41] Speaker 5: pretty good. And then Washington goes in, what, the week after,
[12:45] Speaker 5: I think?
[12:45] Speaker 4: Right.
[12:47] Speaker 5: I think that Oregon has got a big, big problem,
[12:52] Speaker 5: and Lanning does not have much time to solve it.
[12:55] Speaker 6: What did you make of Dan Lanning snapping at the
[12:57] Speaker 6: media who challenged him by not having Dante Moore available?
[13:01] Speaker 5: Yeah, I did not think that was Dan's best moment
[13:04] Speaker 5: at all. You know, when he said it, we got
[13:08] Speaker 5: our ass kicked. When you get your ass kicked, tempers
[13:11] Speaker 5: get short, frustration mounts. That was not his finest moment
[13:16] Speaker 5: at all. The media didn't do anything wrong. The media
[13:20] Speaker 5: was told Dante Moore's not available. That's all they knew.
[13:23] Speaker 5: So they wrote that he was not available. They didn't
[13:26] Speaker 5: know that he was getting an IV. Oregon should have
[13:28] Speaker 5: told them that.
[13:29] Speaker 6: Right.
[13:29] Speaker 5: Lanning certainly should not have jumped on the reporters the
[13:32] Speaker 5: way he did with that condescension.
[13:33] Speaker 4: I thought that was poor form on his part.
[13:36] Speaker 3: No, no doubt. When he said, do you think you
[13:38] Speaker 3: should know that he's getting an IV? Yes, yes. Or
[13:41] Speaker 3: at least tell the media he's dealing with a medical
[13:43] Speaker 3: situation and he's not available. And then you're done. I mean,
[13:46] Speaker 3: I was telling Dick on the air last hour that
[13:48] Speaker 3: I put that squarely on the shoulders of the Oregon
[13:51] Speaker 3: sports information staff. I mean, where were these people to
[13:55] Speaker 3: tell them what was going on with Dante Moore? And
[13:57] Speaker 3: then I had the same reaction to Sark on the
[14:01] Speaker 3: Texas Ohio state game Saturday night when he blows off
[14:05] Speaker 3: Holly row, where's the Texas PR guy, you know, making
[14:08] Speaker 3: him stay there to do that postgame interview.
[14:11] Speaker 6: Yup.
[14:12] Speaker 4: That no, absolutely.
[14:14] Speaker 5: The Oregon thing is basically just comprehensive.
[14:18] Speaker 4: Shell shock is my guess is what was going on, right?
[14:20] Speaker 5: They get, they get off the field in Stillwater and,
[14:24] Speaker 5: and they are just, you know, their, their skulls are
[14:27] Speaker 5: getting crushed by what's happened. And, I think that was
[14:32] Speaker 5: a bad breakdown and the media did nothing wrong. And Lanning,
[14:36] Speaker 5: my guess is you catch Lanning a couple of weeks
[14:39] Speaker 5: or whatever and he looks back and he would probably say, yeah,
[14:42] Speaker 5: I probably went overboard on that.
[14:44] Speaker 6: What's your take on the Sark situation, both at halftime, postgame,
[14:49] Speaker 6: Arch Manning?
[14:50] Speaker 7: Did he have to apologize? Just your thought on the
[14:54] Speaker 7: whole thing.
[14:56] Speaker 5: Yeah, well, I did not actually see the halftime situation.
[15:02] Speaker 3: Laura Rutledge said it was on ESPN because they took
[15:06] Speaker 3: too long to get to him, so they took ownership.
[15:08] Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, which.
[15:09] Speaker 5: Was good of Laura to explain that. You know, Sark
[15:17] Speaker 5: should not have done that with Holly Rowe.
[15:19] Speaker 4: You know, she is.
[15:21] Speaker 5: A terrific sideline reporter who I think warrants a little
[15:25] Speaker 5: bit more respect but at the same time you're in
[15:27] Speaker 5: the heat of the moment and that kind of stuff
[15:30] Speaker 5: can happen i generally think sark's a pretty good guy
[15:33] Speaker 5: and uh that's not really representative of kind of who
[15:37] Speaker 5: he is the arch thing oh man that's tough uh
[15:42] Speaker 5: you know that ai deal that's that's bad that was
[15:46] Speaker 5: handled poorly arch give arch credit for at least He
[15:50] Speaker 5: apologized thoroughly on Instagram. You know, he's whatever, 20 years old,
[15:54] Speaker 5: he made a mistake. So that's kind of their point.
[15:57] Speaker 4: There's a lot, huh?
[15:58] Speaker 5: There's a lot of media stuff, a lot of, a
[16:00] Speaker 5: lot off the field stuff going on in these games.
[16:03] Speaker 3: Yeah, no doubt. Well, John Warner's with us. Courtesy is
[16:06] Speaker 3: simply seattle.com. Be sure and use code KJR 15 for 15%
[16:10] Speaker 3: off anything on the website. John, before we get to
[16:12] Speaker 3: your vote, Dick's got one more too. I know ESPN
[16:15] Speaker 3: took some guff, some flack for putting Ted Cruz on
[16:19] Speaker 3: the air on college game day to promote the protect
[16:22] Speaker 3: college sports act. And then the NAACP came out and said, well,
[16:27] Speaker 3: what about our response? Because they're against it, by the way.
[16:30] Speaker 3: Did ESPN make a mistake putting Ted Cruz on the air?
[16:34] Speaker 3: And can you explain kind of where we're at with
[16:36] Speaker 3: this thing right now?
[16:39] Speaker 4: They did make a mistake. except for the fact that
[16:42] Speaker 4: the first word in the name ESPN is entertainment, right?
[16:47] Speaker 4: I mean, it is not. People forget that a lot.
[16:50] Speaker 5: And the entertainment often is more important to them than
[16:54] Speaker 5: the sports.
[16:55] Speaker 4: And it's certainly not, you know, you can't.
[16:58] Speaker 5: Look there for ethical and fair journalism all the time.
[17:01] Speaker 5: Crew should never have been given that kind of platform
[17:05] Speaker 5: without ESPN. the opposition on the bill being given equal time.
[17:12] Speaker 3: Where are we on the bill?
[17:13] Speaker 5: It passed the first of several procedural votes today. I
[17:18] Speaker 5: believe there will be a floor vote on the Senate
[17:20] Speaker 5: next week.
[17:21] Speaker 4: That's where it's tracking. I think it will pass the Senate.
[17:25] Speaker 4: I think it's got a ton of hurdles in the House.
[17:28] Speaker 5: And You know, the anti-expansion piece is still in there.
[17:33] Speaker 5: I don't think it'll make it all the way through,
[17:35] Speaker 5: but as of right now, it is still in there.
[17:37] Speaker 6: All right.
[17:38] Speaker 3: Well, before we get your pick, it is time for
[17:40] Speaker 3: one more edition of What Are You Talking About, Wilner?
[17:47] Speaker 3: Dick Fane, what do you got?
[17:48] Speaker 4: We haven't done this in a while.
[17:49] Speaker 3: No, we haven't. We haven't. Dick's been worked up about
[17:52] Speaker 3: this for weeks, by the way. When he gets pissed off,
[17:56] Speaker 3: you better watch out.
[17:56] Speaker 6: Yeah, I think it was like middle of last week,
[17:58] Speaker 6: right after we had you on.
[18:00] Speaker 7: I'll just read a quote from John Wilner.
[18:02] Speaker 6: Quote, so in the spirit of thinking out loud, we wonder,
[18:06] Speaker 6: could the Huskies decide they don't want to risk an
[18:10] Speaker 6: in-state non-conference.
[18:12] Speaker 7: Loss by extending the Apple Cup?
[18:15] Speaker 6: So now it's Washington that might be afraid of Washington
[18:17] Speaker 6: State because they could.
[18:20] Speaker 7: Lose to the Cougars.
[18:22] Speaker 6: Isn't the trajectory of the Huskies and the trajectory of
[18:25] Speaker 6: the Cougars just going to continue to go opposite directions
[18:28] Speaker 6: over the next 10.
[18:28] Speaker 7: Years and make it even harder for the Cougars to win?
[18:33] Speaker 5: Probably, but that was a tough game the other day,
[18:36] Speaker 5: and it cost Washington a lot of bodies with the injuries.
[18:41] Speaker 5: And I did not expect that.
[18:43] Speaker 4: Right.
[18:43] Speaker 5: I mean, given what happened last year, I kind of
[18:45] Speaker 5: figured Washington would win handily. Now, I believe I wrote
[18:48] Speaker 5: that before the Apple Cup itself. I can't remember specifically,
[18:54] Speaker 5: but I you know, I think that there's a lot
[18:56] Speaker 5: of decisions that need to be made for both schools
[19:01] Speaker 5: when you're talking about whether that series needs to should continue.
[19:04] Speaker 5: It's not just black and white for both. And one
[19:09] Speaker 5: of the questions for the Huskies is, you know, competitively,
[19:12] Speaker 5: is it worth it? It's kind of a lose-lose because
[19:16] Speaker 5: if they win, they're supposed to win. And if they lose,
[19:18] Speaker 5: all hell breaks loose. So they got to consider that
[19:22] Speaker 5: piece of it, I think.
[19:22] Speaker 3: All right, John, real quick, before we let you go,
[19:25] Speaker 3: let's face it, the real reason why we have you
[19:27] Speaker 3: on the air. I mean, the previous 22 minutes are fine,
[19:30] Speaker 3: but they pale in comparison to the importance of Wilner's winner.
[19:34] Speaker 3: We have big-time, legitimate, degenerate gamblers that tune into this
[19:39] Speaker 3: radio show every day, every week.
[19:42] Speaker 4: Good for them.
[19:42] Speaker 3: To hear your pick. You lost your way slightly with
[19:46] Speaker 3: the Pittsburgh game last week. Almost got it done.
[19:49] Speaker 4: Wait, I picked Pittsburgh.
[19:50] Speaker 3: Ucf you did you did yeah yeah that's what i
[19:55] Speaker 3: got written down am i wrong on that if i'm
[19:57] Speaker 3: wrong then i.
[19:58] Speaker 4: Apologize Oh, that's all right. You know what?
[20:01] Speaker 6: I think you picked the Texas game in the segment,
[20:04] Speaker 6: but your official pick was the Pittsburgh.
[20:05] Speaker 3: Hang on a second. I think you may be right.
[20:08] Speaker 3: I may have misread or misprinted Neuheisel's pick for Willner's pick.
[20:15] Speaker 3: So can we go back and listen real quick?
[20:17] Speaker 6: Wow.
[20:18] Speaker 3: While we do that. We're going to go to the
[20:20] Speaker 3: booth here, John. We will get a. And review it.
[20:22] Speaker 3: We're going to go to New York.
[20:23] Speaker 4: I hope it's not the Big Ten booth.
[20:25] Speaker 3: All right.
[20:25] Speaker 5: Yeah.
[20:25] Speaker 3: Well, we're going to add an extra second just for you.
[20:28] Speaker 3: And we're going to go check last week. So while
[20:30] Speaker 3: you're doing that, Jackson, while you're doing that, let's get
[20:33] Speaker 3: your pick for this week. Who do you like and why?
[20:37] Speaker 4: Well, I actually like two games.
[20:38] Speaker 5: I kind of like New Mexico getting like 23 at Oklahoma.
[20:42] Speaker 3: Okay.
[20:42] Speaker 5: But I will go officially with Arizona State. in the
[20:47] Speaker 5: Union Jack game in London to cover against Kansas. I
[20:51] Speaker 5: think ASU is a real threat to win the Big 12.
[20:54] Speaker 5: I was very impressed with them. They lost by 28
[20:57] Speaker 5: at A & M, but that's because they threw two
[20:59] Speaker 5: fourth-quarter pick sixes. I think ASU's good, and Dillingham, for
[21:05] Speaker 5: my money, he does as well with what he's got
[21:08] Speaker 5: as any coach.
[21:08] Speaker 4: So give me the Sun Devils.
[21:09] Speaker 3: All right, we've got some good news and bad news
[21:11] Speaker 3: for you, John. The bad news is, or the good
[21:14] Speaker 3: news is, I was wrong and you were right. You
[21:16] Speaker 3: picked the Texas game. Bad news is you still lost
[21:19] Speaker 3: because they won by one. Oh, it was one and
[21:21] Speaker 3: a half.
[21:22] Speaker 4: Oh, wow. It was one and a half? And they
[21:25] Speaker 4: won by one.
[21:26] Speaker 3: You're given a point and a half, but we're taking
[21:29] Speaker 3: ASU minus the five and a half against Kansas this weekend.
[21:34] Speaker 3: All right, John, great stuff.
[21:35] Speaker 4: That was a hell of a game. That was a
[21:37] Speaker 4: hell of a game.
[21:37] Speaker 3: Well, did you see how many people tuned in to
[21:39] Speaker 3: watch it? 15 million. Watch that thing on Saturday night. Unbelievable.
[21:45] Speaker 3: All right, John, you're.
[21:46] Speaker 5: The highest audience, highest audience for ESPN for regular season
[21:50] Speaker 5: game ever.
[21:51] Speaker 3: Crazy bananas.
[21:52] Speaker 1: All right.
[21:52] Speaker 3: You're the best. We'll talk in a week. See you, man.
[21:55] Speaker 4: Thanks, guys.
[21:56] Speaker 3: Yeah, he had the Texas game. He still lost. It
[21:59] Speaker 3: was Neuheisel, I'm sorry, that had the Pittsburgh game. So
[22:02] Speaker 3: they both lost, but they lost different games. All right,
[22:05] Speaker 3: we're going to break. Brian Schmetzer, speaking of losing, he
[22:08] Speaker 3: keeps losing players, dude. What is going on with the
[22:11] Speaker 3: injury bug in this town? 545 on 93.3 KJRFM.
