[0:15] Speaker 3: Chapelain, Jake, do I have to do this?
[0:18] Speaker 2: You don't have to, Harold, but I think you'll be
[0:20] Speaker 2: glad you did.
[0:21] Speaker 4: What are you afraid of? Harold Peabody?
[0:24] Speaker 3: Afraid nothing? Now?
[0:26] Speaker 1: Hold on? You do?
[0:27] Speaker 2: I told you we'd solve this thing on the Oodcast.
[0:30] Speaker 4: There's nothing to solve, is there? There was a test
[0:33] Speaker 4: answer sheet under Harold's desk. Everyone saw it.
[0:36] Speaker 3: Natalia, how do you even know? You're in like kindergarten?
[0:40] Speaker 4: I'm in second grade? Same thing, Harold Peabody, It's not
[0:45] Speaker 4: the same thing you, you.
[0:47] Speaker 3: Test cheater, Natalia Lee? How dare you accuse me of cheating?
[0:51] Speaker 3: I'm an honest person and I wouldn't do that, Harold.
[0:54] Speaker 2: Hold on, Natalia, quit making Harold missus O'Leary's cow.
[0:57] Speaker 4: I wasn't. Huh what does that even mean? Chaplain Jake?
[1:02] Speaker 3: So now we're calling me a test cheater and a cow.
[1:05] Speaker 3: I'm done, herold.
[1:06] Speaker 2: No, I'm not calling you a cow. Natalie is accusing
[1:10] Speaker 2: you of something really serious, taking an answer key to
[1:14] Speaker 2: a test.
[1:15] Speaker 3: I didn't do it right.
[1:16] Speaker 2: You maintain your innocence just like missus O'Leary's cow.
[1:21] Speaker 3: I'm very confused and still upset.
[1:24] Speaker 4: Story Time, Chaplin, Jake, this isn't kindergarten and we're not
[1:28] Speaker 4: in the mood for a story.
[1:30] Speaker 2: Oh listen to this one. It'll make perfect sense at
[1:32] Speaker 2: the end.
[1:33] Speaker 1: Okay.
[1:34] Speaker 3: I mean it gets me away from everyone who's looking
[1:36] Speaker 3: at me funny thinking I'm a cheater thanks to Natalia.
[1:41] Speaker 4: I heard my mom say they found it under your desk, Harold.
[1:44] Speaker 1: But Storytime, listen.
[1:46] Speaker 2: Ever been to Chicago?
[1:48] Speaker 3: Yes?
[1:49] Speaker 4: No, but I want to see the bean sculpture there.
[1:52] Speaker 2: Well, Chicago is a beautiful city today, but back in
[1:55] Speaker 2: eighteen seventy one, it was almost destroyed how by a
[1:59] Speaker 2: fire on the night of October eighth. The fire started,
[2:03] Speaker 2: it was windy.
[2:04] Speaker 3: Isn't Chicago called the windy City?
[2:07] Speaker 4: Everyone knows that, Harold.
[2:08] Speaker 1: Well, the city share lived up to it's nickname that night,
[2:11] Speaker 1: because the fire spread quickly and burned for three days.
[2:15] Speaker 3: WHOA, that's a long time yep.
[2:18] Speaker 2: Three point three square miles of the city were destroyed.
[2:21] Speaker 3: Oh.
[2:21] Speaker 4: No, people's homes burned down.
[2:24] Speaker 2: They did, and the fire left about one hundred thousand
[2:27] Speaker 2: people without homes.
[2:28] Speaker 3: That's terrible, it was.
[2:30] Speaker 2: And even more terrible, three hundred people died.
[2:34] Speaker 4: Died. Ooh, that was a bad fire.
[2:37] Speaker 3: It sure was. How'd it start?
[2:39] Speaker 2: It started in Missus O'Leary's barn.
[2:42] Speaker 4: Missus O'Leary.
[2:43] Speaker 1: Uh huh.
[2:44] Speaker 2: And in the days after the fire, a reporter from
[2:47] Speaker 2: the Chicago Tribune made up a story.
[2:49] Speaker 3: Reporters are supposed to make up stories. They're supposed to
[2:52] Speaker 3: report the facts.
[2:53] Speaker 2: Right, But this reporter didn't follow that. He wrote the
[2:57] Speaker 2: fire started when Missus O'Leary's cow kicked over a lamb
[3:00] Speaker 2: and while.
[3:00] Speaker 4: Being milked Missus O'Leary's cow.
[3:03] Speaker 1: Yep.
[3:04] Speaker 2: The reporter admitted years later that he'd made the whole
[3:06] Speaker 2: thing up. It didn't matter by then, because you see,
[3:09] Speaker 2: everyone had heard the story and he believed it.
[3:12] Speaker 3: So what really happened. How'd the fire actually start?
[3:15] Speaker 2: Well, nobody knows for sure. It might have been a
[3:18] Speaker 2: chimney spark that set some hay on fire. Maybe a
[3:20] Speaker 2: neighbor's carelessness.
[3:22] Speaker 4: Poor Missus O'Leary.
[3:24] Speaker 1: Oh yes, In needy people made up songs about her
[3:27] Speaker 1: and her cow, blaming them for starting the terrible fire.
[3:30] Speaker 4: That's not nice.
[3:31] Speaker 2: M mmm, sure isn't. Missus O'Leary lived the rest of
[3:35] Speaker 2: her life away from everybody. Everyone else believed the reporter
[3:38] Speaker 2: story even though it wasn't true.
[3:40] Speaker 4: Ah, I get it. So he took one piece of
[3:44] Speaker 4: information and added to it exactly, Harold, I'm sorry. I
[3:48] Speaker 4: didn't mean to call you a cow.
[3:51] Speaker 3: Thanks. And by that, I guess you mean he didn't
[3:53] Speaker 3: mean to say I cheated on a test.
[3:55] Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean there could be another reason that test
[3:58] Speaker 4: answer key was under your I guess a reason like this.
[4:04] Speaker 3: Read it a text for miss Holt. Hey is this
[4:06] Speaker 3: a teacher group chat? What all do you guys talk about?
[4:09] Speaker 2: Never mind that Natalia read the message for miss Holt.
[4:13] Speaker 4: Okay, hey, y'all, I figured out what happened. I dropped
[4:17] Speaker 4: my test answer key in class and it must have
[4:20] Speaker 4: slid under Harold's desk. He's innocent, as his greade on
[4:24] Speaker 4: the test clearly proves. And then Miss Natasha replied with
[4:28] Speaker 4: a laughing face in moji and and.
[4:30] Speaker 2: That's enough of reading the teacher group chat. So Natalia,
[4:34] Speaker 2: would you think.
[4:35] Speaker 4: Harold, you're innocent. I'm so sorry.
[4:38] Speaker 3: Well, thank you, and I told you I was.
[4:41] Speaker 4: I was being like the reporter. I have to make
[4:43] Speaker 4: it right.
[4:44] Speaker 2: Do you want to make an announcement, Natalia, we can
[4:47] Speaker 2: ask DS if that's.
[4:48] Speaker 4: Okay, definitely, I'll go right now.
[4:50] Speaker 3: I'll go with you, just to make sure you say
[4:53] Speaker 3: it right.
[4:54] Speaker 4: I'll apologize, Harold.
[4:56] Speaker 3: Yeah, but I'll make sure you don't call me a cow.
[4:59] Speaker 1: Fine, come on, book you guys.
[5:01] Speaker 2: The podcast, Well, listeners, my story really helped. Have you
[5:07] Speaker 2: ever been in a situation like this. There's a verse
[5:10] Speaker 2: about this in the Book of Proverbs. Let me read
[5:12] Speaker 2: it for you to close.
[5:13] Speaker 1: Since my guests have left me. It says, for lack of.
[5:17] Speaker 2: Wood, the fire goes out, and where there's no whisper,
[5:20] Speaker 2: quarreling ceases. That's Proverbs twenty six, verse twenty. So if
[5:25] Speaker 2: you hear something, don't add wood to the fire. Find
[5:28] Speaker 2: the truth before you spread a lie. Lies can spread
[5:32] Speaker 2: faster than fire.
[5:34] Speaker 3: Hey chaplain Jake, Oh, Harold, Yeah, thanks for helping me.
[5:38] Speaker 1: We're welcome, and that's our show for today. I'm Jacob P.
