[0:16] Speaker 3: just no, no, no.
[0:17] Speaker 4: No, no, no, no no. We're not talking about Lebron James here.

[1:47] Speaker 4: Welcome into another episode of becoming a Best Ball bro.
[1:50] Speaker 4: I'm Jaja Zacharieson, joined as always by my Jets loving
[1:55] Speaker 4: co host Rich Ryan Rich.
[1:57] Speaker 1: What's going on, Buddy?
[1:57] Speaker 3: It's the preseason, buddy, Hope Spring eternal. Nothing bad can
[2:02] Speaker 3: happen from here, right, j Jay?
[2:04] Speaker 2: Right?
[2:05] Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, right, we were, We were.
[2:07] Speaker 4: We had some some cold open ideas and the one
[2:10] Speaker 4: that that you were going to throw out there was
[2:12] Speaker 4: about Gino Smith taking that punch to the I forgot
[2:15] Speaker 4: all about that that that even happened.
[2:17] Speaker 3: That was the one and only time that I had
[2:18] Speaker 3: an office job in my life, and it was the
[2:20] Speaker 3: start of my second year in that job.
[2:22] Speaker 2: So everybody knew me.
[2:23] Speaker 3: I'm on the West Coast, I'm the Jets guy, I'm
[2:25] Speaker 3: from New Jersey, and so when it happens, every guy
[2:27] Speaker 3: in the office, maybe for like a thirty minute period,
[2:30] Speaker 3: would comb over and.
[2:31] Speaker 2: Let me know.
[2:31] Speaker 3: In case, in case there was a world where I
[2:33] Speaker 3: did not know that Gino Smith had broken his jaw
[2:36] Speaker 3: via a practice squad player, that yes, Gino Smith would
[2:38] Speaker 3: be missing a considerable part of the season with a
[2:41] Speaker 3: broken jaw.
[2:42] Speaker 1: Was what was the backstory as to why he punched him?
[2:45] Speaker 3: It was just a debt. It was a six hundred
[2:47] Speaker 3: dollars debt with I K and Kompally. I. I don't
[2:49] Speaker 3: know if it was charity related. I think someone. I
[2:53] Speaker 3: think Gino had dedicated his time or vice versa to
[2:55] Speaker 3: like a charity event like a camp that summer, and
[3:00] Speaker 3: some money was owed and Gino was being quite arrogant
[3:02] Speaker 3: about it, and I K income Polly did not enjoy
[3:06] Speaker 3: that ericant and landed the one two punch on on
[3:09] Speaker 3: our guy, Gina.
[3:10] Speaker 1: Crazy So Crazy.
[3:12] Speaker 4: Last week we talked about just some exposure stuff in
[3:15] Speaker 4: general on the show with my portfolio, but we haven't
[3:19] Speaker 4: done a lot of like risers and followers, ADP stuff
[3:22] Speaker 4: in a while. So we're going to go through some
[3:25] Speaker 4: big rises and followers since it's right before camp starts
[3:27] Speaker 4: and we're about to see some crazy things happen. So
[3:30] Speaker 4: we have some names and such that have been rising
[3:33] Speaker 4: basically since the end of June into July.
[3:35] Speaker 1: You know, I went on.
[3:36] Speaker 4: Vacation, we had that, like that recap type episode, and
[3:39] Speaker 4: then you know, last week, like I said, we didn't
[3:41] Speaker 4: go over this kind of thing. So we'll just go
[3:43] Speaker 4: through some players and I'll you know, throw some takes
[3:46] Speaker 4: out and give you some some like how I feel
[3:48] Speaker 4: about it, But why don't you get things offered?
[3:50] Speaker 1: Let's talk about some risers first.
[3:51] Speaker 3: Yeah, let's start about Let's start with two running backs
[3:53] Speaker 3: who I'm just personally blaming you for these rises, especially
[3:56] Speaker 3: the second one. One is Jonathan Brook's coming off another injury.
[4:01] Speaker 3: The other is Jordan Mason. Two different paths I think
[4:04] Speaker 3: to having success in best Ball, but people are liking
[4:07] Speaker 3: their profiles entering the summer.
[4:09] Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, look, I've had this take for a
[4:11] Speaker 4: minute now that I think that that Jonathan Brooks could
[4:14] Speaker 4: just jump Cuba Hubbard and ADP. Eventually we're already seeing
[4:18] Speaker 4: Cuba falling, which you know, spoiler alert, that's one of
[4:22] Speaker 4: the followers, so I'll just talk about it here. But
[4:24] Speaker 4: Cuba falling and Jonathan Brook's rising, you know, it's the
[4:28] Speaker 4: hot new commodity. I you know, look and then in
[4:31] Speaker 4: the draft guide, I have Jonathan Brooks as a target
[4:33] Speaker 4: because what I do for the targets and avoids is
[4:35] Speaker 4: that I'm looking at my rankings, my tiers, and I'm
[4:38] Speaker 4: seeing in my overall where I have them overall as well,
[4:41] Speaker 4: and I'm looking at where they get drafted on the
[4:43] Speaker 4: major platforms. And I think that this is a case
[4:46] Speaker 4: where Best Ball or like some of the more prestigious,
[4:50] Speaker 4: like you know, high stakes platforms, you're gonna you're gonna
[4:53] Speaker 4: find that Jonathan Brooks goes higher on those sites versus
[4:57] Speaker 4: like a Yahoo or in ESPN. That being said, I
[5:01] Speaker 4: do you know, there's usually a couple of week lags,
[5:03] Speaker 4: so I think that we're going to start to see
[5:05] Speaker 4: some sort of change there. Now I look at my portfolio,
[5:08] Speaker 4: I'm at about eleven twelve percent Jonathan Brooks right now,
[5:11] Speaker 4: so I'm a head of market. I do think that
[5:12] Speaker 4: there's gonna become a point in time where I'm not.
[5:15] Speaker 4: I don't want to be stupid about it, you know,
[5:18] Speaker 4: like I think that Cuba. You know, I faded him
[5:21] Speaker 4: last year. You know, I was really into Rico Dowdell
[5:23] Speaker 4: last year. But that gap in ADP was significantly different.
[5:27] Speaker 4: You had a fifth to sixth round running back in
[5:29] Speaker 4: Cuba often fifth round, and then you had a literal
[5:33] Speaker 4: like late round Darth throw for a while and like
[5:35] Speaker 4: the fourteenth fifteenth round in ric o'dowdele. But with this
[5:38] Speaker 4: you're looking at a ninth round Jonathan Brooks and a
[5:40] Speaker 4: seventh to eighth round now Cuba Hubbard. And to me,
[5:43] Speaker 4: you know, I think that's like fair, you know, like
[5:45] Speaker 4: I have Cuba like two spots in overall rank ahead
[5:49] Speaker 4: of Jonathan Brooks.
[5:50] Speaker 1: So, like I said, I think if this flips.
[5:53] Speaker 4: I don't know if we're thinking rationally enough about that,
[5:56] Speaker 4: just given the fact that, like the stable piece is
[5:58] Speaker 4: very clearly Cuba Hubbard and in this backfield like very clearly.
[6:02] Speaker 1: I liked Brooks as a prospect quite a bit.
[6:05] Speaker 4: I think he's a good pass catcher, but I like
[6:07] Speaker 4: him more as a clear Dart RB three to four
[6:11] Speaker 4: type player as opposed to one where now all of
[6:14] Speaker 4: a sudden, you're relying on him as your RB two.
[6:16] Speaker 3: Yeah, you don't want the risk profile of the running
[6:18] Speaker 3: backs you've taken before Jonathan Brooks to be a misfit
[6:21] Speaker 3: with taking him right, you would want some stability before
[6:25] Speaker 3: throwing that dart.
[6:26] Speaker 1: If you can have it, I should.
[6:27] Speaker 4: I do want to add that, just so if people
[6:29] Speaker 4: are curious. I'm at about three percent Chuba Hubbard in
[6:31] Speaker 4: the Millie right now.
[6:32] Speaker 3: And the other thing I want to say, and this
[6:33] Speaker 3: goes back to your Rico Dube'll take last year, is
[6:35] Speaker 3: that when you do have conviction in these ambiguous situations,
[6:39] Speaker 3: or you do want to press an edge, you might
[6:41] Speaker 3: as well press it fully by just taking the other
[6:43] Speaker 3: guy overweight, right, because instead of just fading and having
[6:48] Speaker 3: a take, Well, if you fade that person and you're correct,
[6:51] Speaker 3: the correlative result is going to be that the other
[6:53] Speaker 3: guy does have success. So there are spots like this
[6:56] Speaker 3: when you just have a take and you have conviction. Yeah,
[6:58] Speaker 3: don't go overboard with it, don't go like fifteen percent
[7:01] Speaker 3: to zero, but it's okay to push that edge and
[7:04] Speaker 3: you know, try to put a take in to accent
[7:06] Speaker 3: like that.
[7:07] Speaker 4: Well, especially when cost is involved, like you can't ignore
[7:10] Speaker 4: the cost aspect. This isn't like, you know, I think
[7:13] Speaker 4: that the Panther situation, you know, like last year there's
[7:17] Speaker 4: really no downside or not a lot of downside and
[7:20] Speaker 4: being heavy and ricodoubt when I was basically I think
[7:24] Speaker 4: I had one Cheube Hubbard.
[7:26] Speaker 1: Team out of one hundred and fifty in the MILLI
[7:27] Speaker 1: last year.
[7:28] Speaker 4: And so and that's the low like I try to
[7:30] Speaker 4: get exposure to. It's just one of those players I
[7:32] Speaker 4: just didn't get a lot of exposure to. Now I
[7:34] Speaker 4: look at this year and the true Bud Jonathan Brooks
[7:37] Speaker 4: thing I just don't see as comparable because of the
[7:39] Speaker 4: cost element. One place where I do think that's kind
[7:42] Speaker 4: of comparable, and I'll throw it out here because.
[7:43] Speaker 1: This guy is also a faller.
[7:45] Speaker 4: I've mostly faded Tony Poller in the MILLI, and I
[7:48] Speaker 4: know that's that goes against a lot of what consensus
[7:52] Speaker 4: is doing. I know that that there are sites out
[7:54] Speaker 4: there that are very like high slash, very okay with
[7:58] Speaker 4: going Tony Pollers way. But for me, I just I
[8:02] Speaker 4: prefer like a Jalen Warren a generium price when he
[8:05] Speaker 4: falls Ramandre Stevenson, I'd rather go that direction at running back.
[8:09] Speaker 4: If I'm taking a running back in that range, and
[8:11] Speaker 4: then also I'm going quarterback off him.
[8:13] Speaker 3: I was gonna say that's that's the start of the quarterback, Like,
[8:16] Speaker 3: let's get serious.
[8:17] Speaker 4: So I just having gotten that much Tony Pollard. With
[8:20] Speaker 4: that being said, even though this guy's been falling, I've
[8:22] Speaker 4: gotten a lot. I've gotten a decent amount of Taje.
[8:24] Speaker 1: Spears. I'll say that, like, I think I'm overweight on him.
[8:27] Speaker 4: I've got a lot of Nick Singleton, and I know
[8:29] Speaker 4: that that could end up being a zero I get it.
[8:31] Speaker 4: I understand the downside risk with that. I happen to
[8:34] Speaker 4: believe that a lot of the players that you're getting
[8:36] Speaker 4: in eighteen to twenty are zero type caliber players.
[8:40] Speaker 1: You know, Like I'm trying to balance my roster.
[8:43] Speaker 4: If I feel really good at running back and wide
[8:45] Speaker 4: receiver and I know that I can just pick a
[8:47] Speaker 4: position and just draft them and go for the you know,
[8:49] Speaker 4: shoot for the moon. I don't mind going Singleton's way
[8:52] Speaker 4: because I thought he had a really good profile overall
[8:55] Speaker 4: as a prospect. And then on top of that, I
[8:58] Speaker 4: don't really you know, Spears has never been in every
[9:01] Speaker 4: down back consistently. Tony Pollard has a really really rough
[9:04] Speaker 4: receiving profile and sort of peripherals, and we saw some
[9:07] Speaker 4: bad splits from him last year, even from a usage
[9:10] Speaker 4: standpoint when Taj Spears was active. And so I look
[9:13] Speaker 4: at a guy like Singleton where you're probably not gonna
[9:16] Speaker 4: see much buzz. I mean you might, but because he
[9:19] Speaker 4: is a rookie and he is athletic. But I doubt
[9:22] Speaker 4: you see a ton of buzz from him because you
[9:24] Speaker 4: kind of have that head coach and that coaching staff
[9:27] Speaker 4: that is more of like the traditional rookies got to
[9:31] Speaker 4: earn it kind of staff, right, even though dable, I
[9:33] Speaker 4: mean as oc he's played Day three rookies the last
[9:38] Speaker 4: two years. You had Tyrone Tracy two years ago, you
[9:39] Speaker 4: had Cam Scataboo last year, right, And so I don't
[9:42] Speaker 4: think that he's necessarily I don't know if he would
[9:44] Speaker 4: be afraid necessarily of doing that. But my greater point
[9:48] Speaker 4: here is that this is more of the dynamic of
[9:50] Speaker 4: the Chue Barrico thing last year of you know you're
[9:53] Speaker 4: getting Nick Singleton for a I mean, you can get
[9:55] Speaker 4: him in round nineteen. Now he's fallen, but you know
[9:58] Speaker 4: you're getting Nick Singleton at the end of Drea Tony
[10:01] Speaker 4: Pollard's a very firm middle round pick, and I'm just
[10:04] Speaker 4: opting to go that direction more because I don't know
[10:07] Speaker 4: if the upside case is that strong for Pollard, whereas
[10:10] Speaker 4: you know, if you're looking at the upside case for
[10:12] Speaker 4: Nick Singleton that late, you know, if things come together,
[10:15] Speaker 4: there's an embiguous But you have multiple injury outs for
[10:18] Speaker 4: a player like this and he can catch passes out
[10:19] Speaker 4: of the backfield, there's just there's it's just an intriguing profile,
[10:23] Speaker 4: you know. I don't think it's as like clear cut
[10:25] Speaker 4: and clean as Rico Daudl last year because there's a
[10:27] Speaker 4: three headed backfield. But that's more of the dynamic that
[10:30] Speaker 4: I think that we're referring to as opposed to right
[10:33] Speaker 4: now Jonathan Brooks schuwb Behovers is a little bit different there.
[10:35] Speaker 1: It's a lot different than that.
[10:37] Speaker 3: Let's get back to some risers who go up to
[10:38] Speaker 3: the Bay Area and talk about a guy that I
[10:40] Speaker 3: feel like we're just willing some health to go our
[10:44] Speaker 3: way for our guy. Ricky Piersau up half around since
[10:48] Speaker 3: the end of June.
[10:49] Speaker 4: Yeah, it's interesting that he's up just because I think
[10:52] Speaker 4: it's gonna start to go the opposite direction potentially, because
[10:56] Speaker 4: we're getting a lot of design Dribbling hype out of camp.
[10:59] Speaker 4: You know, look, he's a size speed, kind of freak,
[11:02] Speaker 4: that type of player that I'm not surprised would look
[11:05] Speaker 4: good and like you know, get a lot of praise
[11:07] Speaker 4: at this time of year, you guys have if you
[11:10] Speaker 4: read the prospect guy, do you know that the model
[11:11] Speaker 4: didn't love Design Stribling. I'm not super high on Stribbling
[11:15] Speaker 4: as a talent as that profile. But that being said,
[11:18] Speaker 4: you know, if you look at like my rookie rankings
[11:19] Speaker 4: or if you look at where I'm ranking him right now,
[11:21] Speaker 4: it's really been at market. It's just that the community
[11:25] Speaker 4: kind of felt the same way about Stribling as a
[11:27] Speaker 4: prospect for the most part.
[11:28] Speaker 1: But yeah, I mean, like you have Christian Kirk getting
[11:31] Speaker 1: banged up.
[11:31] Speaker 4: That's allowed Shribbling to do a little bit more in
[11:34] Speaker 4: that offense and now he has more opportunity to shine
[11:38] Speaker 4: and do something. He got some of those like Juwan
[11:41] Speaker 4: Jennings type comps early on because obviously they lose Juwan Jennings,
[11:45] Speaker 4: but Jennings himself is a great blockers. That's the allure
[11:48] Speaker 4: with a player like that and Stribling. I mean, I'm
[11:51] Speaker 4: not going to sit here and say that I grinded
[11:53] Speaker 4: his blocking film, but Stribbling evidently can play that kind
[11:56] Speaker 4: of role really well, and.
[11:58] Speaker 1: So I do think there's a chance that we see
[11:59] Speaker 1: Peer kind of go back down a little bit.
[12:02] Speaker 4: But I thought that Pearsall was very undervalued to start
[12:05] Speaker 4: the MILLI process back in like May and and June
[12:07] Speaker 4: and stuff.
[12:08] Speaker 1: So I think I'm a little bit overweight right now.
[12:10] Speaker 4: I would imagine so just because you know, like I
[12:12] Speaker 4: thought he was a good pick, he had a really
[12:14] Speaker 4: underrated Yeah I met eleven percent, but he had really
[12:16] Speaker 4: underrated per route run metrics last year Piersall did. So
[12:20] Speaker 4: I still think he's a decent pick. It's just interesting
[12:22] Speaker 4: that we're seeing this dynamic since the end of June
[12:24] Speaker 4: and then into early July. I think we might see
[12:27] Speaker 4: him fall a little bit more because of design stribbling.
[12:29] Speaker 3: Tribbling is the only player where I've made a clip
[12:31] Speaker 3: for you and I've sought out blocking.
[12:34] Speaker 2: Footage for previously in the summer.
[12:37] Speaker 3: Yeah, everybody else is like big explosive plays touchdowns, and
[12:40] Speaker 3: I literally put blocks in for shribbling because it was
[12:44] Speaker 3: part of the conversation another receiver, somebody you've been on
[12:47] Speaker 3: all summer, somebody who folks are catching up on is
[12:51] Speaker 3: now in Denver.
[12:52] Speaker 2: Jalen Waddell.
[12:54] Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, I did the I was at the
[12:55] Speaker 4: Fantasy Football Expo this past week and I did a
[12:57] Speaker 4: panel we always do, like an opening Expo panel on Sunday,
[13:01] Speaker 4: Me and then some other fantasy analysts in the space,
[13:04] Speaker 4: and Bob Lung, who runs the the expo, always asks
[13:08] Speaker 4: us a player that we're targeting this year and a
[13:09] Speaker 4: player that we're fading, so like our you know, like
[13:12] Speaker 4: favorite value and favorite avoid. Basically, I never have like
[13:15] Speaker 4: a clear cut answer for that, because you know, I
[13:18] Speaker 4: don't really look at fantasy football that way as like
[13:20] Speaker 4: I have my guys or anything like that. But the
[13:23] Speaker 4: guy that I said as the target was Jalen waddle
[13:25] Speaker 4: just because I just think it's an interesting profile slash
[13:29] Speaker 4: dynamic where like, you know, he's playing in an offense
[13:32] Speaker 4: with a positive VP of for play just twice in
[13:34] Speaker 4: his career, and in those two years he had a
[13:36] Speaker 4: two point sixty three and two point five to three
[13:38] Speaker 4: yards per out run rate. Now you get to Denver
[13:40] Speaker 4: a relatively pass heavy offense in a situation where he's
[13:43] Speaker 4: going to be playing the Z. And what's interesting about
[13:46] Speaker 4: that too is that, like last year, it's like, I
[13:48] Speaker 4: don't know how people have forgotten about this. I will
[13:51] Speaker 4: never understand why the fantasy football community loves Courtland Sutton
[13:55] Speaker 4: so much.
[13:56] Speaker 1: Like I just I don't get it at all. He's
[13:58] Speaker 1: the definition of a floor play.
[14:01] Speaker 4: You know, of course he can have random spike weeks
[14:03] Speaker 4: and such, but he's never consistently across the season since
[14:06] Speaker 4: like his second year in the league, given you like,
[14:09] Speaker 4: really really solid production, like even close to the league
[14:12] Speaker 4: winning production in fantasy. And now all they've done is
[14:15] Speaker 4: ad Jalen Waddle to the mix to solidify the fact
[14:18] Speaker 4: that Courtland Sutton's going to play the X in this offense.
[14:20] Speaker 1: If you remember last year.
[14:23] Speaker 4: There were instances there's like a four or five week
[14:25] Speaker 4: stretch where Troy Franklin was out targeting Courtland Sutton and
[14:29] Speaker 4: the reason for that was because the Z role in
[14:32] Speaker 4: this offense is really valuable, right, Like that's what Troy
[14:35] Speaker 4: Franklin was playing. Then they realize, oh, he's not that
[14:38] Speaker 4: good of a player, and he's little, and he doesn't
[14:40] Speaker 4: get off the line very well. And now they went
[14:43] Speaker 4: out and they traded for Jalen Wattle, who can play
[14:45] Speaker 4: that role, who we know is an ultra efficient receiver
[14:48] Speaker 4: and just a good receiver in general.
[14:50] Speaker 1: And so I'm hyped on what Jalen Wattle could do.
[14:54] Speaker 4: If you look at the spectrum of DraftKings drafts, you'll
[14:58] Speaker 4: see him go like I've taken him the three four
[15:00] Speaker 4: turn a lot, like I think that he could go,
[15:04] Speaker 4: like he could very easily go in that range. And
[15:06] Speaker 4: you shouldn't think twice because I think he's at the
[15:07] Speaker 4: top of that like really awesome wide receiver tier, like
[15:11] Speaker 4: close to like we're ze or you know, a Lave
[15:15] Speaker 4: or something like that. I like, I don't really see
[15:17] Speaker 4: a huge difference in Jalen Waddle versus Chris a Lave
[15:20] Speaker 4: this year. Maybe that's a hot take, but I don't.
[15:23] Speaker 4: I don't see why we need to differentiate it so
[15:25] Speaker 4: much in our rankings, And just like stick to ADP
[15:28] Speaker 4: with with Jalen Waddle, and I think others are realizing
[15:30] Speaker 4: that and seeing that too, and that's why his ADP's rising.
[15:33] Speaker 3: Yeah, well, I think when it comes to a Lave
[15:36] Speaker 3: versus Wattle specifically, I think the range of outcomes for
[15:38] Speaker 3: a LAVE is a lot wider than people want to
[15:41] Speaker 3: admit because one of the introduction of Jordan Tyson, a
[15:45] Speaker 3: very explosive talent, but also like Tyler Schuck could just
[15:49] Speaker 3: stink and if that offense goes downhill like, that's a
[15:53] Speaker 3: massive impact. The other thing we've talked about Seahawks defensive
[15:56] Speaker 3: regression as well the Broncos top eight defense. If there's
[16:00] Speaker 3: any sort of regression there whatsoever, and they can't play
[16:04] Speaker 3: control ball with bow Nicks like, there could be spots
[16:06] Speaker 3: where their offense has to open up as well. And
[16:09] Speaker 3: Jalen Wattle is just I don't know, He's just one
[16:11] Speaker 3: of those where he's just he's he's a good player,
[16:14] Speaker 3: man like. He is one of the main reasons, obviously,
[16:17] Speaker 3: along with Tyreek Hill, why the Dolphins offense was what
[16:21] Speaker 3: it was, you know, when to and and Mike McDaniel
[16:25] Speaker 3: were cooking down there. He's he's an unbelievable talent and
[16:28] Speaker 3: in a great spot now.
[16:30] Speaker 1: I think people have been burned by him.
[16:31] Speaker 4: And that's part of the reason too, is you know,
[16:33] Speaker 4: he's had some injury issues and such, but if he
[16:35] Speaker 4: stays healthy.
[16:36] Speaker 1: Jalen Wattle could smash this year. He really could have
[16:38] Speaker 1: a great year.
[16:39] Speaker 3: Absolutely, Let's talk about Sean Payton's old team and an
[16:42] Speaker 3: older player who we thought maybe he could get traded,
[16:45] Speaker 3: might retire, might something, but no. Alvin Kamara back in
[16:49] Speaker 3: the Saints and rising right now in Beastball drafts.
[16:52] Speaker 4: You got to think that if with him going back,
[16:54] Speaker 4: there's this idea that he's going to have some role,
[16:57] Speaker 4: some complimentary role to Travis achen Atn whatever. That was
[17:02] Speaker 4: one of the big topics at the expo this week
[17:04] Speaker 4: is how people pronounce it on their shows. I think
[17:06] Speaker 4: I might stick with ETN because I can't deal with
[17:08] Speaker 4: people yelling at me for not saying ETN. But anyway,
[17:11] Speaker 4: Travis that running back that they have in New Orleans,
[17:14] Speaker 4: now I think he's going to see the early down
[17:16] Speaker 4: stuff and be fine.
[17:17] Speaker 1: Like to me, Travis Etn is a like. He was
[17:21] Speaker 1: probably a.
[17:22] Speaker 4: Little bit overvalued as like a player last year, not
[17:24] Speaker 4: in fantasy necessarily, but just as a general like player.
[17:27] Speaker 4: Like when you look at his secondary metrics and his
[17:30] Speaker 4: his success rate was worse than Beashall Tutons, for instance.
[17:33] Speaker 4: Now he was better yards over expected per attempt, you
[17:35] Speaker 4: know that the stuff that is pretty solid running back
[17:39] Speaker 4: type metrics, even though there's not many of them out there.
[17:41] Speaker 4: He was fine, you know, in some of those metrics,
[17:44] Speaker 4: But it wasn't like he had this like no doubt
[17:46] Speaker 4: type performance last season. It was a lot better in
[17:49] Speaker 4: fantasy than it was in real life. And despite the
[17:52] Speaker 4: narrative that is attached to him that he's this amazing
[17:55] Speaker 4: pass catcher, he hasn't seen like that fifteen percent target
[17:59] Speaker 4: shair type season in his career.
[18:00] Speaker 1: It's just not happened and come to fruition.
[18:02] Speaker 4: And so not only that, but Kellen Moore's offenses historically
[18:06] Speaker 4: haven't really targeted the running backs. Now there's obviously some
[18:09] Speaker 4: noise this and personnel related stuff to that, but like
[18:11] Speaker 4: it's not an offense that like hyper targets running backs
[18:13] Speaker 4: or anything like that. And so when I look at
[18:16] Speaker 4: Alvin Kamara resigning there, I say to myself, there's probably
[18:20] Speaker 4: some role for him to play a pass catching, you know,
[18:23] Speaker 4: role in the offense. So I understand why his ADP
[18:27] Speaker 4: might rise a little bit. With that being said, I
[18:31] Speaker 4: kind of kept things a little bit more neutral with
[18:33] Speaker 4: him versus how things have actually risen in the Best
[18:36] Speaker 4: Ball streets, mostly because there was an opportunity for him
[18:40] Speaker 4: to get traded or to leave New Orleans and find
[18:43] Speaker 4: himself in a situation where he would be getting.
[18:45] Speaker 1: Clearly more work in that offense.
[18:47] Speaker 4: But now he's obviously splitting that backfield with a pretty
[18:50] Speaker 4: good running back. Not great, like I said, but a
[18:52] Speaker 4: pretty good one. And I think the Saint's offensive line's
[18:54] Speaker 4: gonna be pretty good this year, which is a big,
[18:57] Speaker 4: big key part to why I think that offense might
[19:00] Speaker 4: turn the corner and be decent this season. Doesn't mean
[19:03] Speaker 4: I'm drafting Chris a Lave, but I do have plenty
[19:05] Speaker 4: of like Tyler Shuck, Juwan Johnson, Jordan Tyson, et cetera.
[19:09] Speaker 4: So I get it why he's rising, but I do
[19:12] Speaker 4: think that, you know, it's one of those things where,
[19:14] Speaker 4: like the best ball community is always reactionary based on
[19:17] Speaker 4: some sort of news. You know, It's like Alec Pierce
[19:19] Speaker 4: right now, he goes on PUP and all of a sudden,
[19:21] Speaker 4: everyone's like, oh, I can't draft Alec Pierce.
[19:23] Speaker 1: But it's like we kind of knew something was going
[19:25] Speaker 1: on here. So I don't know what your expectation was.
[19:27] Speaker 4: Maybe it was his ADP would have just risen if
[19:29] Speaker 4: he didn't, sure, because we would feel even more confident.
[19:32] Speaker 4: But we knew that something was likely going on here,
[19:35] Speaker 4: and you're gonna see the community react to that in
[19:38] Speaker 4: a negative way. It's just that it's just what had
[19:40] Speaker 4: the aj Brown stuff from earlier this offseason, where we
[19:43] Speaker 4: all knew he was getting traded. There's like an eighty
[19:45] Speaker 4: percent chance he was gonna do to the Patriots, if
[19:47] Speaker 4: not higher. And then he does, and then he goes
[19:50] Speaker 4: up over around and ADP, which I did not expect
[19:54] Speaker 4: at all, but I was reminded that's just what the
[19:56] Speaker 4: market does. So I think that's what the market is
[19:58] Speaker 4: doing with Alvin Kamara in this.
[19:59] Speaker 3: Game, seeing it with Zach Sharbonay two as well, like
[20:03] Speaker 3: Alex Pearce was announced on Pop.
[20:05] Speaker 2: But this is we knew this, this is something we
[20:07] Speaker 2: had been planning for.
[20:08] Speaker 4: Yeah, the Sharbonay thing, I mean, any ADP Zach Sharbonay
[20:12] Speaker 4: is wild.
[20:13] Speaker 1: I saw him going round fifteen to day.
[20:14] Speaker 4: I couldn't take him or I didn't want to take him,
[20:16] Speaker 4: exagenarian price on that team, and it's it's it's wild
[20:20] Speaker 4: because of course he was going to start on the
[20:22] Speaker 4: pup like, of course, he was like, if he didn't,
[20:26] Speaker 4: then his ADP would have gone like four rounds higher
[20:29] Speaker 4: than where it's going right now, if not more, you know,
[20:31] Speaker 4: so yeah, I mean it's it's try try not to
[20:34] Speaker 4: be so reactionary.
[20:35] Speaker 1: When when you're making these selections.
[20:37] Speaker 3: Let's pivot to some followers now briefly mentioned him with
[20:40] Speaker 3: his former team Miami, and that's Tyreek Killed down two
[20:43] Speaker 3: rounds twenty six picks since the end of June.
[20:46] Speaker 2: This is a player we have not discussed at all.
[20:48] Speaker 3: We discussed Ayuk a little bit before he went off
[20:50] Speaker 3: the deep end, but we've not really touched upon Tyreek Hill.
[20:53] Speaker 2: Where are you at on Hill?
[20:55] Speaker 4: I've zero percent Tyree Kill in the Millie. I've done
[20:57] Speaker 4: ninety two MILLI drafts. I have not taken Tyreekill once.
[21:00] Speaker 4: I mean, this is the Tank Dell thing, right Like,
[21:02] Speaker 4: it's that kind of injury and Tyreek Hill is older.
[21:06] Speaker 4: Explosion is the main part of his game, and that's
[21:09] Speaker 4: why we want him in fantasy because he's one of
[21:12] Speaker 4: the few guys who can just win with athleticism that way.
[21:15] Speaker 4: Coming off a major injury like that, I just don't
[21:18] Speaker 4: want to deal with it. Especially because he's, you know,
[21:19] Speaker 4: at the tail end of his career at this point.
[21:21] Speaker 4: To me, it's just not a worthwhile investment. That's one
[21:24] Speaker 4: of those like truth. And there there were times where
[21:26] Speaker 4: like he was going in like round fifteen and such,
[21:30] Speaker 4: where like there's some like relatively usable players in that.
[21:33] Speaker 1: Range that you know, at least give you something and
[21:35] Speaker 1: you won't take a zero four. But there's a very
[21:37] Speaker 1: real chance you take a zero to Tyreek Hill. So
[21:40] Speaker 1: I'm out.
[21:40] Speaker 4: I'm not surprised that he's falling after the reports that
[21:43] Speaker 4: his leg like isn't functioning properly.
[21:45] Speaker 1: I don't advise other people taking and drafting Tyreek Hill.
[21:49] Speaker 3: Let's get to Chocolate City, the DC area rookie running
[21:53] Speaker 3: back k Tron Allen is starting to slide here as
[21:56] Speaker 3: we get into August.
[21:58] Speaker 4: I guess this is the Jakori cross merit thing, you know,
[22:01] Speaker 4: like that he's getting a little bit more love.
[22:03] Speaker 2: Nobody seems more in the summer like good old Bill.
[22:06] Speaker 4: I know, it's really interesting to me, Like, I think
[22:08] Speaker 4: Bill is fine enough as an early down guy. The
[22:11] Speaker 4: one thing I do want to call out though, and
[22:14] Speaker 4: we're gonna see it a lot when a player is
[22:16] Speaker 4: working like doing a lot of something in camp. It
[22:19] Speaker 4: doesn't mean that the team is trying to get that
[22:22] Speaker 4: player to do that thing in the actual games. A
[22:25] Speaker 4: good example of this you could use it with JCM
[22:27] Speaker 4: but Jenarium Price right now, they're using him a lot
[22:30] Speaker 4: as a pass catcher. But I would imagine they're doing
[22:33] Speaker 4: that because Jenerium Price didn't have that much of a
[22:35] Speaker 4: pass catching profile.
[22:36] Speaker 1: Like we don't know how good of a pass catcher
[22:38] Speaker 1: Jenerarium Price is.
[22:39] Speaker 4: They're probably just getting them reps because they don't know
[22:42] Speaker 4: what And similarly, George Hallani right is getting first team
[22:46] Speaker 4: reps because they just want to see what their depth
[22:48] Speaker 4: looks like and see what he can maybe do between
[22:50] Speaker 4: the tackles a little bit more as opposed to just
[22:52] Speaker 4: playing that like third down back type role. Right.
[22:55] Speaker 1: So it's the same thing with Jacory Krossky merit where
[22:58] Speaker 1: the early down stuff.
[23:00] Speaker 4: By the way, George Allani, I have way too much
[23:02] Speaker 4: George Allan, way more than I'd like to admit. And
[23:05] Speaker 4: and DK basketball right now, where twentieth round pick, I
[23:09] Speaker 4: just need like a body at running back as my
[23:11] Speaker 4: RB six, I've gotten him. I think I'm at like
[23:14] Speaker 4: fourteen percent George Lani right now, just to don't guys, guys,
[23:17] Speaker 4: don't don't yell at me about that. Please don't yell
[23:19] Speaker 4: at me about that.
[23:20] Speaker 2: I mean they are in the playoffs.
[23:22] Speaker 3: I besmersed him by calling him with something a couple
[23:24] Speaker 3: of weeks ago, but like they were giving him the.
[23:26] Speaker 2: Ball in the playoffs.
[23:27] Speaker 1: I know.
[23:28] Speaker 4: I'm just like, to me, it's one of those things
[23:30] Speaker 4: where like I'm willing with a twentieth round pick to
[23:32] Speaker 4: lay it to just like go into like I don't
[23:35] Speaker 4: think he's good.
[23:36] Speaker 1: I'm just going into this idea.
[23:37] Speaker 4: Like I know that backfields are chosen by coaches, Like
[23:40] Speaker 4: whatever the coach wants to do, if they want to
[23:42] Speaker 4: use him, then he could be usable in some way.
[23:44] Speaker 1: To me, I don't see why like we would be
[23:48] Speaker 1: so much higher on.
[23:49] Speaker 4: Laquinn Allen than George Allani when George Laani's floor is
[23:53] Speaker 4: probably the role that la Quinn Allen's going to be
[23:55] Speaker 4: playing right where there is more upside there that what
[23:58] Speaker 4: if to start the year they do use him more
[24:01] Speaker 4: as the early down guy and he's splitting with Jenarian Price,
[24:03] Speaker 4: but which a Corey krossky Merritt. We're seeing a lot
[24:06] Speaker 4: of reports and they like want to get him involved
[24:08] Speaker 4: more as a receiver. Guys, Bill had a very poor
[24:13] Speaker 4: receiving profile coming out of college and he did nothing
[24:15] Speaker 4: as a receiver last year. I think that it's a
[24:17] Speaker 4: little bit too bullish of a projection to assume that
[24:20] Speaker 4: he's going to take on like a eight nine percent
[24:22] Speaker 4: target share in that offense, especially when Rashad White's there,
[24:25] Speaker 4: and that's that's like, that's like the one thing that
[24:27] Speaker 4: Rashad White can do. And you know, I'm a believer,
[24:29] Speaker 4: and I think teams should be doing this more of
[24:31] Speaker 4: disguising what they're going to do given the type of
[24:34] Speaker 4: running back that's on the field, which is what the
[24:36] Speaker 4: Rams really lit like leaned into last year with Blake.
[24:40] Speaker 1: Krm and Kyrin Williams, Like, don't have a third down
[24:43] Speaker 1: running back.
[24:44] Speaker 4: Have a running back that you know can spell your
[24:46] Speaker 4: starter and you guys can rotate drives or whatever, you know,
[24:49] Speaker 4: whatever the case may be. That's not what Washington's doing,
[24:53] Speaker 4: just given the personnel there, right, because Rashad White not
[24:55] Speaker 4: the best in between the tackles, guy j Cory Krossky
[24:58] Speaker 4: Merrit not a good pass catcher. Two of them combined
[25:00] Speaker 4: would be a pretty fun running back, but they're not combined.
[25:03] Speaker 1: That's the problem. Right.
[25:04] Speaker 4: So I say all of that because we're talking about
[25:06] Speaker 4: kay Tron Allen and Alan to me, is is a
[25:10] Speaker 4: duplicate of Jacory krossky Merrit in terms of the way
[25:14] Speaker 4: they're going to be deployed.
[25:15] Speaker 1: I think I've talked about this before.
[25:16] Speaker 4: If you look at like the Minnesota backfield versus the
[25:19] Speaker 4: Washington backfield, the Minnesota backfield has Jordan Mason as the
[25:23] Speaker 4: very clear early down runner, which is why he's been
[25:26] Speaker 4: rising up a little bit, I believe, and then Aaron
[25:29] Speaker 4: Jones and DeMont Claiborne as more pass catching backs right
[25:32] Speaker 4: and then in Washington, Rashad White is the clear pass catcher,
[25:36] Speaker 4: so he has a stable role in that backfield, whereas
[25:39] Speaker 4: Jacory krossky Merritt doesn't necessarily have that role, which is
[25:43] Speaker 4: why k Tron Allen to me is kind of interesting
[25:46] Speaker 4: because he's just got to beat out Jacory krossky Merritt
[25:50] Speaker 4: to get a little bit more work.
[25:51] Speaker 1: And he's obviously a completely different kind.
[25:52] Speaker 4: Of running back than Bill is and even Rashad White is,
[25:55] Speaker 4: which is also a plus in my opinion, for you know,
[25:58] Speaker 4: a Day three dark throw type player. So Kateron Allen
[26:01] Speaker 4: is still fine in my opinion if you want to
[26:03] Speaker 4: draft him late, even though he's falling. But do know that, like,
[26:06] Speaker 4: that's the dynamic that we're working with with these backfields.
[26:09] Speaker 4: Like I like drafting DeMont Claiborne because the guy he
[26:12] Speaker 4: has to beat is Aaron Jones, who is now on
[26:15] Speaker 4: the wrong side of the age curve, and we don't know,
[26:18] Speaker 4: you know, how dynamic he's gonna look this year, right,
[26:20] Speaker 4: Whereas Demon Claiborne is a very dynamic player and he's
[26:23] Speaker 4: a decent pass catcher. So that's kind of the way
[26:25] Speaker 4: that I look at these late round rookie running back darts,
[26:28] Speaker 4: these Day three guys.
[26:29] Speaker 1: And I feel the same way about k Ron Allen.
[26:32] Speaker 3: The next falling running back is also a young guy,
[26:35] Speaker 3: but he's entering his third year. I believe he's old
[26:37] Speaker 3: enough to finally buy a twenty seven dollars tall boy
[26:40] Speaker 3: at MetLife. I'm not sure, though, I think he is
[26:43] Speaker 3: finally twenty one in Braylen Allen. But you're using this
[26:46] Speaker 3: as a jumping off point to talk about a guy
[26:48] Speaker 3: you've liked since you wrote him up with the prospect guide,
[26:50] Speaker 3: and that's Isaiah Davis.
[26:52] Speaker 4: I think Isaiah Davis is just as good, if not better,
[26:54] Speaker 4: of a player as Braylan Allen. And there's been some
[26:57] Speaker 4: small report saying that he could be the RB two
[26:59] Speaker 4: in that offense. Now this is where reporting, like the
[27:03] Speaker 4: way that one Beat reporter views what an RB two
[27:05] Speaker 4: is could be different than another Beat reporter because again,
[27:08] Speaker 4: these guys play roles. That's what I was trying to
[27:10] Speaker 4: say about, like k Tron Allen there or some of
[27:12] Speaker 4: these other rookie running backs, they're playing specific roles in
[27:15] Speaker 4: their offense. Isaiah Davis, if you want to lump him
[27:18] Speaker 4: into the Laquin Allen you know us or George Hallane
[27:24] Speaker 4: type group, I think that's fair, right, But like I
[27:26] Speaker 4: think Isaiah Davis can handle more on the ground if
[27:29] Speaker 4: something were to happen to the guy in front of
[27:30] Speaker 4: him in Breeze hall right, Like I think Davis can
[27:33] Speaker 4: be in every down back in a pinch? Do I
[27:36] Speaker 4: think that he's gonna be that, like, you know, when
[27:39] Speaker 4: his rookie contracts up or whatever the case may be,
[27:41] Speaker 4: like some team is going to be released. No, I
[27:43] Speaker 4: don't think that's the case. But as a backup player, sure,
[27:47] Speaker 4: Like I think that Isaiah Davis has that opportunity. Braylan
[27:49] Speaker 4: Allen has not really proven that he has the pass
[27:52] Speaker 4: catching chops where Isaiah Davis has, like they've deployed him
[27:55] Speaker 4: that way historically. So I think Davis just straight up
[27:58] Speaker 4: is a little bit more appealing than Braylen Allen at
[28:01] Speaker 4: this point. And I think the reports like David has
[28:03] Speaker 4: also been really efficient when he's gotten the ball and
[28:06] Speaker 4: touched the ball. That's another thing to keep in mind.
[28:08] Speaker 4: And so I think these reports about him like being
[28:11] Speaker 4: their RB two whatever that means. Sure, but I do
[28:14] Speaker 4: think that there's some validity to the idea that Isaiah
[28:17] Speaker 4: Davis could be a better fantasy asset than Braylen Allen
[28:19] Speaker 4: this year.
[28:20] Speaker 3: Davis also loved by the staff. I can I can
[28:22] Speaker 3: tell you this much, great special teams player, a useful player,
[28:26] Speaker 3: So somebody who you don't have to worry about ever
[28:28] Speaker 3: being on a roster bubble or anything like that. So
[28:31] Speaker 3: you're definitely buying points when you take Isaiah Davis because
[28:34] Speaker 3: he's going to find his way on the field. It's
[28:37] Speaker 3: just to your point, how much is he going to
[28:39] Speaker 3: see the field versus a Braileen Allen last one, and
[28:42] Speaker 3: this comes with multiple questions marks from you down half
[28:46] Speaker 3: around since the end of June. It's the tight end
[28:49] Speaker 3: up in San Francisco. George Kittle.
[28:52] Speaker 4: I'm just surprised that his ADP's follow him because it
[28:54] Speaker 4: feels like there's only been optimistic news about Kidd, right right.
[28:57] Speaker 4: I don't get this high, right Yeah, I mean, like
[29:00] Speaker 4: I actually was more bearish on Kittle, you know, a
[29:04] Speaker 4: couple months ago, and I wasn't drafting enough of him.
[29:06] Speaker 1: I've drafted a lot more of him recently.
[29:08] Speaker 4: I'm trying to at least I'm still under weight on Kittle,
[29:11] Speaker 4: but I'm at like six percent or something like that.
[29:13] Speaker 4: I'd rather be at least at eight percent, maybe even
[29:16] Speaker 4: overweight on him, because I think that things are treading
[29:18] Speaker 4: in the right direction.
[29:20] Speaker 1: And given what some like docs have said, this was
[29:24] Speaker 1: an achilles injury.
[29:25] Speaker 4: That wasn't like the bad kind of Achilles injury, Like
[29:27] Speaker 4: it was one where you know he could return and
[29:30] Speaker 4: at least get close to what we know from George Kittle.
[29:33] Speaker 4: You know, there's definitely some trends in the draft guy
[29:36] Speaker 4: that don't favor Kittle, but he's already beaten those trends.
[29:38] Speaker 4: Historically like slot rate type stuff, and he's just a
[29:41] Speaker 4: you know, he's nowt he's like a Derrick Henry type player.
[29:43] Speaker 4: He's just an outlier type player where we've seen it
[29:46] Speaker 4: year in year out, So we can kind of throw
[29:48] Speaker 4: out the trends for a player like this and not
[29:49] Speaker 4: really worry about it too much. Great offense, great environment,
[29:53] Speaker 4: obviously one that has sustainably had really high passing touchdown rates.
[29:59] Speaker 4: Kittle in the ten round, which you can get really consistently,
[30:02] Speaker 4: like right before you get into like the Dallas Goddard
[30:04] Speaker 4: range and stuff.
[30:05] Speaker 1: I've been trying to get a little bit more of that.
[30:07] Speaker 4: And the other thing that you can do is if
[30:09] Speaker 4: you're at the tail end of like round nine, you
[30:11] Speaker 4: know you're in the front of the draft, you can
[30:13] Speaker 4: double tap and maybe reach a little bit, but get
[30:15] Speaker 4: like a Purdy Kittle stacked pretty easily. That's the range
[30:18] Speaker 4: where the side of the board where Mike Evans goes too,
[30:21] Speaker 4: So you can get very much get a pretty good
[30:23] Speaker 4: San Francisco stack if you want to, and you could
[30:25] Speaker 4: differentiate it like you could like that that Philly San Francisco.
[30:29] Speaker 1: Game is all on the left side of the board.
[30:31] Speaker 1: If you want it to be, and so you can
[30:32] Speaker 1: play with that a little bit.
[30:33] Speaker 4: So I like Kittle where he goes right now, I
[30:36] Speaker 4: would envision his ADP going up as we get more reports,
[30:40] Speaker 4: just because things have been trending in the right direction.
[30:42] Speaker 3: Yeah, unless obviously the only thing is is a setback.
[30:45] Speaker 3: But yeah, it's right, sure, but that's that's an obvious one, right,
[30:50] Speaker 3: like any it could be major one, that's right. Yeah,
[30:53] Speaker 3: if everything is neutral, You're right, it's gonna be. It's
[30:56] Speaker 3: just gonna be positive because that means he's out there
[30:59] Speaker 3: running routes. And to bring it back to shribbling blocking
[31:02] Speaker 3: because Kill's blocking is like one of his main utilities
[31:04] Speaker 3: for that uh Shanahan offense.
[31:06] Speaker 1: Exactly.
[31:07] Speaker 4: All right, those are the rises and followers. We do
[31:09] Speaker 4: have an interview. I talked to establish the runs Adam Levitton.
[31:13] Speaker 4: Everyone knows and loves Levitan, including myself. We talked about
[31:17] Speaker 4: his typical approach to DraftKings this year Little zero RB
[31:21] Speaker 4: talk his end of draft favorites, which is always a
[31:25] Speaker 4: big talking point, a question that people ask this show
[31:28] Speaker 4: pretty consistently. So much more though, so enjoy my conversation
[31:33] Speaker 4: with Adam Levetan. All Right, Levitan. So I know that,
[31:51] Speaker 4: you know, you probably mix things up each draft. You
[31:53] Speaker 4: know you're reading the board and stuff. But when you
[31:55] Speaker 4: sort of take a step back, what's been your typical
[31:57] Speaker 4: approach this year on draftings?
[31:59] Speaker 5: It's crazy how much the meta has changed on DraftKings
[32:03] Speaker 5: best Ball. I think this is my fourth or fifth
[32:06] Speaker 5: year playing beasketball seriously on DraftKings, and like my initial
[32:11] Speaker 5: thought when playing this format, it's full PPR. There's bonuses
[32:16] Speaker 5: for one hundred yards you can start for wide receivers.
[32:19] Speaker 5: This is a very, very wide receiver friendly format, you know,
[32:23] Speaker 5: very different than underdog half PPR. No bonuses on underdog
[32:26] Speaker 5: like touchdowns and quarterbacks scoring are going to be such
[32:29] Speaker 5: a big part of your score on DraftKings. It should
[32:32] Speaker 5: be wide receivers, pass catching running backs. And yet this year,
[32:37] Speaker 5: for the first time, I see the meta the public
[32:41] Speaker 5: and a ton of sharp people also just hammering wide
[32:44] Speaker 5: receiver early because of the way the league has gone
[32:47] Speaker 5: the last couple of years. I do not think that
[32:49] Speaker 5: is right to force that this year. So I've been
[32:52] Speaker 5: a little bit contryand with some more wide receiver friendly
[32:55] Speaker 5: starts this year. We can talk more about that later,
[32:57] Speaker 5: and then the other big meta change this year in
[33:00] Speaker 5: DraftKings has been quarterback adp. Like it used to be,
[33:05] Speaker 5: you could get pocket passers in round twelve, thirteen, fourteen,
[33:09] Speaker 5: fifteen to my favorite teams on DraftKings were three later
[33:12] Speaker 5: round stacked quarterbacks pocket passing stacked quarterbacks this year though,
[33:18] Speaker 5: like Lamar Jaden Daniels, Drake May Jalen Hurts, elite duel
[33:23] Speaker 5: threat guys, they're not even going that much earlier than
[33:27] Speaker 5: Dak Stafford Caleb types. And so I have way more
[33:32] Speaker 5: two quarterback teams that have an elite quarterback or a
[33:35] Speaker 5: dual threat who I think are going too late, versus
[33:37] Speaker 5: more of the three stacked ones. So there's definitely some
[33:40] Speaker 5: huge meta changes going on. It also depends like who's
[33:43] Speaker 5: in my room. I do a lot of these five
[33:45] Speaker 5: five fives on DraftKings, and I know, like all the rags,
[33:48] Speaker 5: there's a lot of REGs in there. I know what
[33:50] Speaker 5: they're gonna do, you know what I mean, And so
[33:51] Speaker 5: like I it makes a difference there when you know
[33:54] Speaker 5: how people are gonna draft.
[33:55] Speaker 4: Also if you're going like like quarterback, like I had
[33:57] Speaker 4: a team today where I went Lamar Jackson, Dart Right
[34:02] Speaker 4: and in that case, you're done at quarterback. That's been
[34:06] Speaker 4: that's been the big thing, because there's like pros and
[34:08] Speaker 4: cons to it, obviously, right because like the pro to
[34:10] Speaker 4: me would be advance piece slash. Maybe you can get
[34:14] Speaker 4: another stack in the in the playoffs, what have you.
[34:16] Speaker 4: But then the con obviously is there's this other flex
[34:19] Speaker 4: that you're just foregoing.
[34:20] Speaker 1: Are you more like.
[34:21] Speaker 5: Done at two in that case, Lamar Dart, I am
[34:24] Speaker 5: fine being done at two. I do do some backstacking
[34:28] Speaker 5: with those kind of starts. Sometimes let's say Mendoza falls
[34:31] Speaker 5: past Adp, I'll just take Mendoza and then go Mayor.
[34:35] Speaker 5: Or let's say, you know, I have a chance, I'm
[34:36] Speaker 5: at the turn in the back and I can go
[34:38] Speaker 5: like Gino, a d Mitchell or Sadiq Gino, like those
[34:43] Speaker 5: type of opportunities to find the third quarterback and get
[34:46] Speaker 5: a stack that can help you in the playoffs. And again,
[34:48] Speaker 5: the three quarterback stuff isn't even that important for regular season.
[34:51] Speaker 5: It is important because you want three stacks in the playoffs.
[34:54] Speaker 5: That is very clear, Like three stacked quarterbacks in the
[34:57] Speaker 5: playoffs is very valuable. So yes, I'm okay with Dart, Lamar,
[35:00] Speaker 5: if I see a spot to do it with one
[35:02] Speaker 5: of these late round guys, I will, but I certainly
[35:04] Speaker 5: won't force it.
[35:05] Speaker 1: Nothing.
[35:05] Speaker 4: That exact thing happened with me where Rogers went and
[35:08] Speaker 4: like I got Rogers in like round sixteen or so,
[35:10] Speaker 4: like he fell right because he usually would be like
[35:12] Speaker 4: fourteen and I just got Darnell Washington or something at
[35:14] Speaker 4: the end just to just.
[35:15] Speaker 5: To have or you could do the Bernard thing, you know,
[35:17] Speaker 5: Rogers into Bernard also, yeah, right right, So with you
[35:20] Speaker 5: going more wide receiver heavy than the market overall, just generally,
[35:24] Speaker 5: does that mean when you look at a strategy and
[35:27] Speaker 5: an approach like zero RB, A lot of people are
[35:30] Speaker 5: saying zero RB is dead?
[35:31] Speaker 4: At him?
[35:32] Speaker 1: Is zero RB dead? And Gun I was never really
[35:35] Speaker 1: a zero RB guy.
[35:37] Speaker 5: My favorite builds on DraftKings were always hero RB and
[35:41] Speaker 5: like I still do a lot of that.
[35:43] Speaker 1: It's just crazy to me, man, I don't know what
[35:45] Speaker 1: you think.
[35:45] Speaker 5: But like I was talking about running back heavy starts,
[35:48] Speaker 5: especially in season long but also on Underdog Best Ball,
[35:51] Speaker 5: and people would like literally laugh at me, like, oh,
[35:54] Speaker 5: you're such a boomer, Adam. You're all allowed to take
[35:57] Speaker 5: wide receivers, yes, and rookies early and now all these
[36:00] Speaker 5: people are doing these extreme running back heavy starts, so
[36:04] Speaker 5: I'm not doing much Zero RB are really any I
[36:07] Speaker 5: never really have, but I do think it's more viable
[36:10] Speaker 5: now because some of these wide receiver values are insane.
[36:13] Speaker 5: Like I don't know what you think, but to me,
[36:15] Speaker 5: like in previous iterations of Fantasy, Jordan Tyson, Christian Watson,
[36:21] Speaker 5: Tedrory McMillan, Burden a lave, I think these guys would
[36:25] Speaker 5: be going much higher in a different metas. So I
[36:28] Speaker 5: do think it sets up pretty well for zero RB.
[36:31] Speaker 5: If you're a zero RB bro, I'm more of a
[36:33] Speaker 5: hero RB at most extreme.
[36:36] Speaker 4: I think that that's that to me has been my
[36:39] Speaker 4: like it's weird that it's contrarian, right like, but it's
[36:42] Speaker 4: been like my like go to like get one of
[36:45] Speaker 4: these especially like like I've gotten a lot of like
[36:47] Speaker 4: unfortunately a lot of like five to eight spots in
[36:51] Speaker 4: the MILLI where it's like, like I don't I'm not
[36:53] Speaker 4: like super super high on Jonathan Taylor, for instance, right,
[36:55] Speaker 4: so I don't want to just like pound Jonathan Taylor
[36:57] Speaker 4: and get him every single time. I've ended up with
[36:59] Speaker 4: like a lot of jas because of that. You know,
[37:01] Speaker 4: some awesome amenra whatever. And then you find like a
[37:04] Speaker 4: pretty good pocket of running back in round two, and
[37:06] Speaker 4: then you hit that range of wide receiver in that
[37:10] Speaker 4: like three to five range where there's just so many
[37:12] Speaker 4: upside receivers that it's hard to not go wide out there,
[37:16] Speaker 4: and then all of a sudden, I've naturally just been
[37:18] Speaker 4: going with my favorite value on the board essentially.
[37:20] Speaker 1: But it's a hero RB build, right, like just just
[37:22] Speaker 1: like that.
[37:22] Speaker 4: And so I felt the same way as you have,
[37:25] Speaker 4: you know, like I think that like I tried to
[37:28] Speaker 4: describe this once, but like if you were to look
[37:30] Speaker 4: at like fantasy strategy from a zero to one hundred spectrum,
[37:33] Speaker 4: and like a zero is like a zero RB one
[37:35] Speaker 4: hundred being robust RB.
[37:37] Speaker 1: Year in, year out. I'm usually like in that like
[37:40] Speaker 1: thirty to seventy range in terms of.
[37:41] Speaker 4: Like the way that I look at strategy, right, whereas
[37:43] Speaker 4: the market often will try to go zero. And I
[37:46] Speaker 4: say the market like part of it's like touts, right,
[37:48] Speaker 4: it's other touts that are saying this and like driving this,
[37:51] Speaker 4: and so like like maybe I'm a little bit more
[37:53] Speaker 4: running back heavy, but like I feel like the game
[37:56] Speaker 4: itself doesn't change quite as much as some others make
[37:59] Speaker 4: it seem to be changing.
[38:01] Speaker 5: I also think people tout or they make their conclusions
[38:04] Speaker 5: about thinking about the scoring system. I mean, I'm way
[38:06] Speaker 5: more likely to go robust, star beyond underdog than am
[38:09] Speaker 5: on DraftKings, you know, and so I think that kind
[38:12] Speaker 5: of gets lost in the mix. One thing I will say, though,
[38:13] Speaker 5: is like I actually like balanced builds a lot this year,
[38:16] Speaker 5: and some people might disagree, but you know, I do,
[38:19] Speaker 5: and we'll talk about some of them. I do like
[38:20] Speaker 5: some of the Round four running backs. But also if
[38:23] Speaker 5: you go zero RB, you kind of box yourself out
[38:25] Speaker 5: from some of these later wide receivers that I like.
[38:27] Speaker 5: Like let's say you start six wide receivers in your
[38:29] Speaker 5: first seven picks. You can't really take pearsol Downs, Golden
[38:35] Speaker 5: Coker types, and I kind of like those guys also,
[38:37] Speaker 5: so I you know, one thing about doing the extreme
[38:39] Speaker 5: stuff is you box yourself out from falling values in
[38:41] Speaker 5: best ball, which is one of the most important things,
[38:43] Speaker 5: And you box out from guys that you like down
[38:46] Speaker 5: board at the position.
[38:47] Speaker 4: Yeah, one hundred percent. If you look at the latter
[38:50] Speaker 4: parts around one and then into round two, you have
[38:52] Speaker 4: a lot of interesting running back profiles. Like I said,
[38:54] Speaker 4: you know, if I get a JSN round one, I'll
[38:57] Speaker 4: get the falling running back value in that tier, you know,
[38:59] Speaker 4: and round two oftentimes. But I want to ask you
[39:02] Speaker 4: this because I've had a hard time kind of like
[39:05] Speaker 4: figuring out who I really really want to be. I mean,
[39:07] Speaker 4: I've kind of naturally found who I'm overweighted and underweight on,
[39:10] Speaker 4: but like, I also want to get that a little
[39:12] Speaker 4: bit more even the where I'm at right now, Like
[39:14] Speaker 4: if you could look at two of those guys in
[39:15] Speaker 4: that running back to here, wh who you want to
[39:17] Speaker 4: be overweight on, and maybe two who you want to
[39:19] Speaker 4: be underweight on?
[39:20] Speaker 5: Who would those running backs be? Okay, well, we might
[39:23] Speaker 5: have a debate on our hands. Let me give it
[39:25] Speaker 5: one that I hope is not controversial, the one that
[39:28] Speaker 5: I'm most overweighth on that pocket of running back, The
[39:30] Speaker 5: one that I'm most confident about in like back of
[39:33] Speaker 5: round one early round two is Kenneth Walker. I have
[39:38] Speaker 5: some information that one of the reasons Kenneth, like Seattle
[39:42] Speaker 5: wanted they wanted to retain Kenneth Walker. But he was like,
[39:46] Speaker 5: you guys have been playing me behind Zach Sharpnett. You
[39:49] Speaker 5: guys have not giving me enough touches, I'm out. And
[39:51] Speaker 5: so even if the money was equal, he wanted to
[39:53] Speaker 5: go to a place that would feature him. That is
[39:56] Speaker 5: undoubtedly to me Kansas City. Who if defenses are going
[40:00] Speaker 5: to play this deep safety cover two stuff against Mahomes,
[40:05] Speaker 5: they need Kenneth Walker to just go absolutely nuts. So
[40:08] Speaker 5: the way that the Chiefs offense gets unlocked this year,
[40:10] Speaker 5: to me, is just a ton ton ton of Kenneth Walker.
[40:14] Speaker 5: And like they've had such dusty running backs, like I'm
[40:17] Speaker 5: not even sure Pacheco's an NFL player, Cream Hunt was
[40:19] Speaker 5: so withered. Andy Reid, when he actually has had really
[40:23] Speaker 5: good running backs, has gone nuts with them. And so
[40:26] Speaker 5: I think Kenneth Walker as a screen player, as a
[40:30] Speaker 5: explosive play guy, is just going to go absolutely berserk
[40:33] Speaker 5: for the Chiefs very good offensive line. So that's the
[40:36] Speaker 5: one I feel most confident. The other guy at the
[40:39] Speaker 5: top that I like is one you just mentioned you
[40:40] Speaker 5: didn't like, so I'm curious on this one. It is
[40:43] Speaker 5: Jonathan Taylor.
[40:44] Speaker 1: Yeah, let me hear it. Before Daniel Jones injury.
[40:47] Speaker 5: Last season, Jonathan Taylor was Fantasy's MVP ye and I
[40:52] Speaker 5: think people like get lost in forgetting that. I also
[40:55] Speaker 5: think they do not like the backups get Ins and McGowan,
[40:58] Speaker 5: So people kind of tend to think of JT as
[41:00] Speaker 5: a two down back. He has been an extremely durable
[41:03] Speaker 5: for most part of his career. I think three down back,
[41:06] Speaker 5: we can catch a lot of passes. This is Brandon
[41:08] Speaker 5: Thorne's number six offensive line in the Colts. I'm a
[41:13] Speaker 5: little worried about Daniel Jones playing the level he played
[41:16] Speaker 5: at last year off the Achilles. It should be even
[41:19] Speaker 5: more JT, if that's even possible. So from a talent, explosive,
[41:23] Speaker 5: play workload, offensive line perspective, I thought JT was actually
[41:27] Speaker 5: pretty safe there in the back and round one. But
[41:29] Speaker 5: I'm curious to hear your your counter there right now.
[41:31] Speaker 5: I'm at like six percent JT. It's just not a
[41:33] Speaker 5: full fit.
[41:33] Speaker 4: So it's not But I do think that it's always
[41:36] Speaker 4: hard when you're when you're converting season long the best ball.
[41:38] Speaker 4: Because I did my draft guy, that's gonna be season
[41:40] Speaker 4: long focus. And if you're looking at like home league
[41:42] Speaker 4: type stuff, you know JT is going to be captured
[41:45] Speaker 4: more in that like CMC tier, then he will be
[41:49] Speaker 4: in that ladder tier. And so therefore that's where more
[41:53] Speaker 4: of like the fade idea comes from. Right. With that
[41:55] Speaker 4: being said, I get worried about number one, what Dimes
[41:59] Speaker 4: looks like. Of course, you know, coming off the injury
[42:02] Speaker 4: and the fact that like during that stretch they were
[42:04] Speaker 4: they were the best off They had the best offense
[42:06] Speaker 4: in football last year, Right, So I just see the
[42:09] Speaker 4: regression coming from an offensive standpoint in that way.
[42:12] Speaker 1: He's certainly going to get volume.
[42:14] Speaker 4: And so I don't think that he's like a bad
[42:16] Speaker 4: pick strictly because of that, but he's also been like
[42:19] Speaker 4: at most like more of that like eleven percent target
[42:21] Speaker 4: share player as opposed to that like fifteen percent target
[42:23] Speaker 4: share player. And so that's like the small edges whereas
[42:25] Speaker 4: like I look at a player like James Cook, for instance,
[42:29] Speaker 4: who could end up seeing like maybe not the exact
[42:32] Speaker 4: same amount of work on the ground as JT, but
[42:36] Speaker 4: there is that room for growth with James Cook within
[42:38] Speaker 4: his profile obviously a better offense, we felt feel better
[42:41] Speaker 4: about the offense, and if he does, because James Cook's
[42:44] Speaker 4: never been a ten percent target share player in his career, right,
[42:46] Speaker 4: And so you know, obviously there's the touchdown regression arguments
[42:49] Speaker 4: and such with Cook, which didn't happen a year over year.
[42:52] Speaker 4: But if he does see that like twelve thirteen, maybe
[42:55] Speaker 4: fourteen percent target, like, there's that room for growth, and
[42:58] Speaker 4: that's the kind of prospect he was comeing into.
[43:00] Speaker 1: The league too. Cook right like, he was supposed to
[43:02] Speaker 1: be that pass catcher. So that's why I like I
[43:04] Speaker 1: think Cook.
[43:05] Speaker 4: If I were like straight up to take one of
[43:07] Speaker 4: them in a full PPR format, I'm leaning Cook more
[43:10] Speaker 4: than JT. That's mainly the reason. JT's still like a
[43:14] Speaker 4: top five, top six running back for me. So I'm
[43:17] Speaker 4: not gonna like when it comes to those kinds of players.
[43:19] Speaker 4: It's really hard for me to be like, yo, you're
[43:21] Speaker 4: wrong about one of the best running backs that we've
[43:23] Speaker 4: seen over the last ten years. You know.
[43:25] Speaker 5: Yeah, And I say the same thing when people are like, oh,
[43:27] Speaker 5: I got a round twenty play for you, I'm like, yeah,
[43:29] Speaker 5: how bad can it be?
[43:29] Speaker 1: It's round twenty. You know. It's kind of a similar idea.
[43:31] Speaker 5: We have Jonathan Taylor tenth right now in DraftKings and
[43:35] Speaker 5: James Cook twelve, super super close. I don't disagree with
[43:38] Speaker 5: the James Cook stuff. I like him also, but these
[43:40] Speaker 5: starts that are like JT or James Cook and then
[43:44] Speaker 5: Kenneth Walker. You know, I get how you can get
[43:46] Speaker 5: really running back heavy with stuff like that.
[43:48] Speaker 1: I like those starts.
[43:49] Speaker 4: Yeah, no, I agree, I agree. And so the two
[43:51] Speaker 4: that you would then that you're scared of basically yeah,
[43:54] Speaker 4: I mean I kind of feel like this is in
[43:56] Speaker 4: line with Market. But the first one is I'm just
[43:59] Speaker 4: worried about eight Chan just from a systemic level. So
[44:03] Speaker 4: much of his production has come through the air. I
[44:06] Speaker 4: have major concerns about Malik Willis capturing that. And then
[44:10] Speaker 4: you have like they're going to be so bad. I mean,
[44:12] Speaker 4: this is one of the worst rosters I can ever remember.
[44:15] Speaker 4: It just makes me queasy, like, oh, he turns an
[44:17] Speaker 4: ankle late in the season, what's the point You're trying
[44:19] Speaker 4: to get the number one pick anyways?
[44:21] Speaker 5: Like why fight through it? So Hhan has been a
[44:24] Speaker 5: pretty easy fade for me. I know Market is kind
[44:26] Speaker 5: of on that as well. Let me just check ADP. Yeah,
[44:29] Speaker 5: Market's at eighteen on eight Chan right now. It opened
[44:32] Speaker 5: at like twelve, So Market's definitely been getting down on
[44:34] Speaker 5: him and the other one that makes me queasy fade,
[44:37] Speaker 5: But I do not have a lot of right now.
[44:38] Speaker 5: We are at twenty one overall on a Maryon Hampton
[44:43] Speaker 5: against an ADP of fourteen point eight. And it's just
[44:46] Speaker 5: from a math perspective, once you start giving stuff to
[44:48] Speaker 5: Keaton Mitchell, which I think you have to give a
[44:50] Speaker 5: little bit to Vidal, give a decent amount to the
[44:53] Speaker 5: tight end room, which is really strong. Give a decent
[44:55] Speaker 5: amount to the wide receiver room, which is strong. Slow
[44:58] Speaker 5: them down from Mike mcdan typical pace. It's hard to
[45:02] Speaker 5: get there from math perspective when I'm Maryon Hampton. That's
[45:04] Speaker 5: like my only argument though, because otherwise I want to
[45:06] Speaker 5: like a Marion Hampton. It's just really hard from math
[45:08] Speaker 5: perspective to get there on him at fourteenth overall.
[45:10] Speaker 1: Yeah, I totally see that.
[45:12] Speaker 4: My thing with the way that I've kind of approached
[45:14] Speaker 4: the Chargers stuff that like in that individual draft, I'm
[45:18] Speaker 4: thinking to myself, you obviously see the outlook, like the
[45:20] Speaker 4: scenario where Hampton smashes right offensive line looks healthy and good.
[45:25] Speaker 4: We're bullish on the Chargers offense, like it's you can
[45:28] Speaker 4: see that outlook, And so I'm playing it as that
[45:32] Speaker 4: scenario hitting in the times that I get Hampton, which
[45:35] Speaker 4: I'm not going to be like massively overweight or anything.
[45:38] Speaker 4: And then I have a ton of Keaton Mitchell too
[45:40] Speaker 4: in the scenario that the Median hits and they are
[45:43] Speaker 4: splitting up that backfield, you know, in that way. But
[45:46] Speaker 4: I agree, like I think that that's the that's the
[45:48] Speaker 4: right kind of like I agree with Achan two Hans
[45:50] Speaker 4: one of those guys.
[45:51] Speaker 1: Is going to go higher in home leagues as well.
[45:52] Speaker 4: You know, he's more of that like back half of
[45:54] Speaker 4: the first round type of player in those in that format,
[45:57] Speaker 4: and I'm just I can't get there with.
[45:58] Speaker 5: No, that's an easy fate. I mean, there's so many
[46:00] Speaker 5: other options to take in the back half of the
[46:01] Speaker 5: first round than a Chen.
[46:02] Speaker 4: Yeah, let's talk tight end real quick. Are you an
[46:06] Speaker 4: early round tight end guy on DraftKings or do you
[46:08] Speaker 4: wait and then? Is it like a or is it
[46:10] Speaker 4: like a brock Bowers or bus thing for you?
[46:12] Speaker 1: Yeah?
[46:13] Speaker 5: God, I feel like I've been results oriented with this.
[46:15] Speaker 5: Like one year I won one of the I think
[46:17] Speaker 5: I went like the DraftKings three to three three like
[46:19] Speaker 5: a few years ago, and I was all late round
[46:21] Speaker 5: tight end and I had Isaiah Likely who was like
[46:23] Speaker 5: a bench player all year, score like twenty for me
[46:25] Speaker 5: in the championship week.
[46:27] Speaker 1: And that was all I needed.
[46:28] Speaker 5: Then last year I had a really good advance rate
[46:30] Speaker 5: and lost almost all my teams in the five to
[46:32] Speaker 5: five to five because Kyle Pitts just shoved it right
[46:35] Speaker 5: down my esophagus.
[46:36] Speaker 1: So like I have been, like, you know, back and
[46:39] Speaker 1: forth on what to do with.
[46:40] Speaker 5: Tight end, I'll say this generally, I do think elite
[46:43] Speaker 5: tight end play is better on DraftKings. How do you
[46:46] Speaker 5: separate at tight end on DraftKings by catching a ton
[46:49] Speaker 5: of balls? Bowers, McBride, Lovelands, you know, just catching, racking
[46:53] Speaker 5: up catch volume on underdog touchdowns are so much more
[46:57] Speaker 5: of your scoring. I'm way less likely to say make
[47:00] Speaker 5: elite tight end there. But yeah, I like the Bowers
[47:03] Speaker 5: price on DraftKings. I've seen McBride slip to middle of
[47:06] Speaker 5: round three lately. I doubt I'm gonna pass on that there.
[47:10] Speaker 5: I think Colston Loveland is one of like the safest,
[47:13] Speaker 5: most straightforward like profiles to smash. But there's also other
[47:17] Speaker 5: pockets of the draft that I like. I think Fannin
[47:21] Speaker 5: is interesting. I think Kittle is interesting. You can even
[47:25] Speaker 5: start later, you know, Mark Andrews. I think is interesting,
[47:27] Speaker 5: Juwan Johnson, and then you can even start later and
[47:30] Speaker 5: go four. You know, I think Aconquo Hockinson, Gunner Helm,
[47:34] Speaker 5: Terrence Ferguson. I've done some more four tight end builds
[47:37] Speaker 5: this year than I have also, so I've tried all
[47:40] Speaker 5: over the place. It's tough. I do think the whole
[47:43] Speaker 5: idea of tight end to me is can you have
[47:46] Speaker 5: a guy that can get you thirty in the playoffs,
[47:49] Speaker 5: because you're probably need that, especially if you're playing the lotto.
[47:52] Speaker 5: If you're playing the twenty five dollars Lotto, somebody in
[47:55] Speaker 5: your pod is gonna have a tight end go for thirty.
[47:57] Speaker 1: You will you have that, cause it's.
[47:59] Speaker 5: Really hard to Matchlast year, Kyle Pitts gave me like
[48:01] Speaker 5: forty two and my tight ends all scored like nine,
[48:05] Speaker 5: and no matter how well the rest of my team did,
[48:07] Speaker 5: I was just dead, you know. So like that, you
[48:10] Speaker 5: just can't let that happen. And it's one slate. It's
[48:12] Speaker 5: hard to predict, but you just can't let that happen.
[48:14] Speaker 4: Yeah, I look, I had my I had a million
[48:16] Speaker 4: finals team last year that had Pits and then I
[48:18] Speaker 4: had Derrick Henry in the final. And it's just like
[48:20] Speaker 4: that was just It's not like I'm sitting there being like, yo,
[48:23] Speaker 4: Kyle Pitts is going to drop a forty burger right
[48:25] Speaker 4: when we need it. You know, it's just the stars aligned, right,
[48:27] Speaker 4: It's just a situation like that, And I think I
[48:30] Speaker 4: think you're right though, Like there's there's so many of those,
[48:34] Speaker 4: Like there's so many like relatively attractive pro I know
[48:36] Speaker 4: that we feel like we say this every year where
[48:38] Speaker 4: we're like tight ends deeper than usual, right, but like
[48:40] Speaker 4: there are some really because we got a really good
[48:42] Speaker 4: class last year, one of the best that we've seen
[48:44] Speaker 4: in a really long time. And then we even have
[48:46] Speaker 4: like the Terrence Ferguson dart throws from that class right
[48:49] Speaker 4: that that are still pretty attractive and interesting. So that's
[48:52] Speaker 4: boosting up and just kind of giving us more tight
[48:54] Speaker 4: end options. And then I even have been drafting like
[48:57] Speaker 4: Kenyan Sadiq because he falls on on on DK often
[49:00] Speaker 4: and so like I think because of that, I still
[49:02] Speaker 4: want to be overweight on Bowers, but I'm not as
[49:04] Speaker 4: much as I thought I was going to be because
[49:06] Speaker 4: there are these other outlets and.
[49:08] Speaker 5: The other part of it is the NFL meta stuff,
[49:10] Speaker 5: like you know, it's not Sadik versus Mason Taylor. They're
[49:13] Speaker 5: gonna play different positions. They can play at the same time,
[49:15] Speaker 5: you know, it's not Loveland verse comet. They can play
[49:18] Speaker 5: at the same time in a lot of formations. So
[49:20] Speaker 5: the way the NFL's going has allowed more tight end
[49:22] Speaker 5: bets to emerge.
[49:24] Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure.
[49:24] Speaker 4: All right, let's go back to that fourth round wide
[49:27] Speaker 4: receiver range that I was kind of talking about earlier, Like,
[49:30] Speaker 4: I love the wide receivers in that range, are so
[49:32] Speaker 4: many good ones. You mentioned that you're still drafting some
[49:34] Speaker 4: running backs in there, which I am too. It's it's
[49:36] Speaker 4: gotten to this point where like I'm trying to force
[49:39] Speaker 4: it a little bit more because I get so enamored
[49:41] Speaker 4: with the wide outs that are there, but I'm trying
[49:43] Speaker 4: to get like more Javante or whomever you know is
[49:46] Speaker 4: there in that range. Is that how you're looking at it?
[49:48] Speaker 4: Or are you just leaning more wide receiver? Like how
[49:50] Speaker 4: do you how do you view that like third to
[49:52] Speaker 4: five round range?
[49:54] Speaker 5: Yeah, So I was just looking at the fourth round
[49:56] Speaker 5: and the guys that I take, the running backs that
[49:57] Speaker 5: I take consistently in the fourth round are Williams and
[50:01] Speaker 5: Travis Etn. I've gotten some crazy Travis Etn prices since
[50:04] Speaker 5: the Kamara news. You know, people are definitely spooked since
[50:07] Speaker 5: the Kamara news. I think Kamara is like dust and
[50:10] Speaker 5: they wanted to get rid of him, and they're just
[50:11] Speaker 5: like doing him a favor, which is the worst way
[50:13] Speaker 5: to run a business or a franchise. Like, look what
[50:15] Speaker 5: the Eagles did. They just cut guys like Brian Dawkins, gone,
[50:18] Speaker 5: Jeremi Tryer, like gone. You know, if it doesn't matter,
[50:21] Speaker 5: you've been a hero to the city for ten years.
[50:23] Speaker 5: Like they wanted to cut Kamara, they didn't have the
[50:25] Speaker 5: balls to do it. So I'm really not that worried
[50:27] Speaker 5: about the Kamara stuff. I think it does cap the
[50:29] Speaker 5: sealing outcome from a pass catching perspective a little bit, yeah, greetm.
[50:33] Speaker 5: But from a base case, I think Etn is totally fine.
[50:35] Speaker 5: And I like Javonte also like as part of the time,
[50:38] Speaker 5: So I do take those guys. I do prefer McMillan,
[50:42] Speaker 5: Burdon McLaurin to the running backs like Dave Montgomery, Swift
[50:48] Speaker 5: and Judgkins. So I'm like, really have very little of
[50:51] Speaker 5: those guys Montgomery, Swift, Junkins, and I have a lot
[50:54] Speaker 5: of Burden mcclaurin and a decent amount of of t MAC.
[50:58] Speaker 5: I think that's the range you're referring to. But yeah, yeah,
[51:00] Speaker 5: but yeah, I'm mixed in there a little bit. And yeah,
[51:03] Speaker 5: are there other wide receiver profiles that you really.
[51:05] Speaker 1: Like in that? In that round four ring? I like
[51:07] Speaker 1: Wattle a lot. I'm in the Wattle this year. Are
[51:10] Speaker 1: you Where are you at with Cam Scattabu? Are you?
[51:12] Speaker 4: Is he?
[51:13] Speaker 1: Is he part of your your consideration set? There? I
[51:15] Speaker 1: take him.
[51:16] Speaker 5: I definitely prefer ETN and Javonte though, But yeah, you know,
[51:19] Speaker 5: the health stuff. I'll keep watching the health stuff on scataboy.
[51:22] Speaker 5: But the way he scores fantasy points, I think is
[51:24] Speaker 5: the way he plays the game is very fantasy friendly
[51:26] Speaker 5: on Scattaboy, I think.
[51:28] Speaker 1: Yeah, agreed.
[51:29] Speaker 4: I actually had this conversation with Kitchen like an hour
[51:32] Speaker 4: or two ago, where I was I was just looking
[51:33] Speaker 4: at my exposure. I was actually using the solver and
[51:36] Speaker 4: looking at some exposure stuff. And I've done ninety two
[51:39] Speaker 4: million drafts so far. I've only taken Judkins once. Oh,
[51:42] Speaker 4: and I'm a little bit nervous, but so I'm probably
[51:46] Speaker 4: gonna boot it up a little bit, But at the
[51:47] Speaker 4: same time, it's the same thing that you're talking about here, right,
[51:50] Speaker 4: Like it's just I get really scared about the potential.
[51:53] Speaker 4: Like I have a lot of Dylan Samson. I think
[51:55] Speaker 4: Samson's actually pretty good late click, and but it's this
[51:58] Speaker 4: like this potential one dimensional you know, early down type
[52:02] Speaker 4: back and a bad offense with a bad offensive line
[52:03] Speaker 4: at least with some of these other Like even if
[52:05] Speaker 4: that happens with Travis ETN because I agree, I think
[52:08] Speaker 4: America cap is receiving upset a little bit, but that
[52:11] Speaker 4: offense at least profiles will be better slash, that offensive
[52:13] Speaker 4: line could end up being really good this year, you know.
[52:15] Speaker 1: Like that that's where like the to me, the differences
[52:18] Speaker 1: between like a Judkins and an ETN type.
[52:20] Speaker 5: One hundred percent. And yeah, like I don't think it's
[52:21] Speaker 5: bad to go like people ask me all the time. Yeah,
[52:23] Speaker 5: if you're doing one fifty, I get wanting to like
[52:26] Speaker 5: not full fake. It's one slate, you know, Like how
[52:28] Speaker 5: many times you know you know it's one DFS slate?
[52:31] Speaker 5: Will you full fade a guy like all the time?
[52:33] Speaker 1: You know? So it's not if you think about it
[52:35] Speaker 1: like that.
[52:36] Speaker 5: I think if you if you don't like junkins, I
[52:37] Speaker 5: wouldn't force it, just like take your zero percent and pray,
[52:40] Speaker 5: you know, like shit, I love it.
[52:42] Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, all right.
[52:43] Speaker 4: I want to I want to ask you about correlation,
[52:46] Speaker 4: uh in the playoffs. A lot of folks who have
[52:47] Speaker 4: been playing best ball who will obviously look and focus
[52:50] Speaker 4: at week seventeen correlation, But how do you view like
[52:53] Speaker 4: week fifteen and six I know Leoni's done some work
[52:56] Speaker 4: on this in the past as well. Is it something
[52:58] Speaker 4: that you're like actively looking And also I do want
[53:01] Speaker 4: to throw out there too as like kind of an
[53:02] Speaker 4: aside in your take, because this is more of like
[53:04] Speaker 4: industry related than anything else. Do you think that people
[53:08] Speaker 4: are not talking about week like like playoff week correlation
[53:12] Speaker 4: as much because of the tools that are out there,
[53:15] Speaker 4: you know, like the solver for instance, Like they're just
[53:17] Speaker 4: relying on it.
[53:17] Speaker 1: They know that it's there.
[53:18] Speaker 4: You know that you're getting a week fifteen or sixteen correlations.
[53:21] Speaker 4: You don't need to necessarily voice it and talk through
[53:24] Speaker 4: it as you're doing. I just think there's like an
[53:26] Speaker 4: interesting conversation there to be had.
[53:28] Speaker 5: I think when the when the data like and the
[53:30] Speaker 5: data is clear you can read Leoni's Best Ball manifesto,
[53:33] Speaker 5: like having week seventeen correlation helps once you get to
[53:37] Speaker 5: week seventeen period, you know, like it definitely helps. I
[53:40] Speaker 5: think that was somewhat novel when it first came out,
[53:43] Speaker 5: and it was like a really interesting thing and a
[53:45] Speaker 5: new thing to think through that people that doesn't correlate
[53:48] Speaker 5: to season long at all. I think now people are
[53:51] Speaker 5: realizing what herzigan I think and we disagree with Leoni
[53:53] Speaker 5: a little bit. Herzigan I worked on an article about
[53:56] Speaker 5: what people should think about when they're on the clock,
[53:59] Speaker 5: and we had week seventeen week sixteen weekfeedding correlation. We
[54:03] Speaker 5: had that as the last thing to think about behind
[54:06] Speaker 5: understanding draft capital by position. That's the most important stacking
[54:10] Speaker 5: adjusting your drafts for ADP player takes like to me
[54:13] Speaker 5: and her zig at least, all that is more important
[54:15] Speaker 5: than week seventeen correlations. So if I'm like really torn
[54:20] Speaker 5: between two players, I'll look at some correlation in the
[54:23] Speaker 5: playoff weeks. I'll definitely look at their playoff matchups and
[54:26] Speaker 5: what I expect the weather to be. But I do
[54:28] Speaker 5: not go into my pick thinking, oh man, I better
[54:31] Speaker 5: find some week seventeen correlation. You're like, I think that's
[54:33] Speaker 5: a pretty big mistake.
[54:34] Speaker 1: Period.
[54:35] Speaker 5: There's a lot of times though, especially we're doing a
[54:36] Speaker 5: lot of volume that like it's really close between two guys,
[54:39] Speaker 5: and week seventeen correlation would be a very good tie breaker.
[54:42] Speaker 4: Yeah, that's how I try to view it to It's
[54:44] Speaker 4: also easier like when you're in like the areas of
[54:47] Speaker 4: the draft that just aren't as you know, important, you know,
[54:50] Speaker 4: and you're in round eighteen or something like that, and
[54:52] Speaker 4: like it's easier to get a bring back because the
[54:54] Speaker 4: range of outcomes are crap anyway for you know, the
[54:57] Speaker 4: high end outcome for those guys anyway, So might.
[54:59] Speaker 1: As well try to But yeah, I agree.
[55:01] Speaker 4: But also like I do think that solver and such
[55:05] Speaker 4: like it makes it so much easier to not have
[55:07] Speaker 4: to really worry about that stuff.
[55:10] Speaker 5: Yeah, and you can display on the solver tool also
[55:12] Speaker 5: that JJ's referring to.
[55:13] Speaker 1: You can display the playoff matchups.
[55:15] Speaker 5: And you know, I don't like to predict how good
[55:18] Speaker 5: defenses are going to be for most of them, but
[55:21] Speaker 5: I know some defense can be really good and I
[55:22] Speaker 5: know some are going to be really bad. Like at
[55:24] Speaker 5: the tails, I actually think we can and should try
[55:27] Speaker 5: to predict which defenses are going to be really bad.
[55:30] Speaker 5: So so yeah, I think looking at the playoff schedule
[55:32] Speaker 5: is almost as important looking at the week seventeen correlations.
[55:35] Speaker 1: All right, Now that we're in the end.
[55:37] Speaker 4: Of the draft, and we talked about early stuff a
[55:39] Speaker 4: little bit, do you have any any favorite like like
[55:41] Speaker 4: late round, end of draft targets because everyone is always
[55:44] Speaker 4: always always hitting me up and asking about this.
[55:47] Speaker 5: It's so brutal because you know, if anyone talks about
[55:50] Speaker 5: guys at this time of year when there's no news
[55:53] Speaker 5: and you know, recording this July twenty eighth, for the
[55:56] Speaker 5: last month, there has been zero news and so if
[55:59] Speaker 5: you breathe on it, guy, he goes to like round
[56:01] Speaker 5: fifteen around sixteen. So I think it's been actually been
[56:04] Speaker 5: kind of a poor time to draft the last couple weeks.
[56:07] Speaker 5: Like I consider my biggest edge in this best ball
[56:10] Speaker 5: stuff reacting to news, and when there's no news, like, okay,
[56:13] Speaker 5: where's my edge if we're not reacting to news. So
[56:15] Speaker 5: I've tried to slow down my drafting a little bit
[56:17] Speaker 5: for now, guys that I've been taking back of draft lately.
[56:22] Speaker 5: I've been trying to get a lot of Tank Bigsby.
[56:24] Speaker 5: I think from a rankings perspective, and I know this
[56:26] Speaker 5: just from projections, the guys that have a little bit
[56:28] Speaker 5: of standalone value, like say a Pa Checko, are going
[56:31] Speaker 5: to project and rank a little bit better. But in
[56:34] Speaker 5: the event of what I actually want to happen, in
[56:37] Speaker 5: other words, there's an injury ahead. I think Tank Bigsy
[56:40] Speaker 5: could go absolutely berserk, and same.
[56:42] Speaker 1: With Ray Davis.
[56:43] Speaker 5: Like Bigsby and Ray Davis, if Saquon and or James
[56:47] Speaker 5: could go down, I think they're gonna go berserk. So
[56:49] Speaker 5: I like those one injury away guys at the back.
[56:52] Speaker 5: The gap between Trey Harris ADP and Quentin Johnson ADP
[56:55] Speaker 5: is just I don't get it. Trey Harris at one
[56:58] Speaker 5: eight and QJ at like seventy. I take Trey Harris
[57:01] Speaker 5: there every time I have like zero QJ. I was
[57:04] Speaker 5: taking the stribbling stuff before all this news yesterday, but
[57:07] Speaker 5: I'm sure people are gonna steam stripping he won the
[57:09] Speaker 5: thirteenth today and yeah, yeah, it's a joke. I'm my
[57:13] Speaker 5: most drafted player, which I don't even I don't even
[57:16] Speaker 5: it's all round twenty. I don't even feel great about it,
[57:19] Speaker 5: but Jalen Knowle is my most drafted player right now.
[57:24] Speaker 5: I thought on a per route basis, he was good
[57:26] Speaker 5: last year, and whereas Nico Collins and Jayden Higgins are
[57:30] Speaker 5: outside players in theory, Jalen Nole fits really well. My
[57:34] Speaker 5: concern is they love Xavier Hutchinson and they had chances
[57:38] Speaker 5: to use Jalen Nole last year and just didn't. But
[57:41] Speaker 5: he is my most drafted player right now. So yeah, Oh,
[57:44] Speaker 5: I think I had one more on here. Oh, Michael Mayer.
[57:47] Speaker 5: I don't normally do like one in your way tight ends,
[57:49] Speaker 5: but if brock Bauers goes down, Michael Mayer is going
[57:52] Speaker 5: to smash, and so I take that a lot.
[57:55] Speaker 1: Mayor might even have standalone value.
[57:57] Speaker 4: You know, he might give you like a couple of
[57:58] Speaker 4: just random you know, off weeks where he's usable. I
[58:01] Speaker 4: think that your note about the backup running back stuff
[58:04] Speaker 4: is one that like I really started to change my
[58:06] Speaker 4: tune on because I haven't really drafted much Pacheco at all,
[58:10] Speaker 4: just because I don't think the talent profile is good enough, right,
[58:13] Speaker 4: like you need Like, I think that's something that like
[58:15] Speaker 4: fantasy players get wrong often, is that like they just
[58:17] Speaker 4: think that oh, if you're in that RB two spot,
[58:19] Speaker 4: therefore you will get work if something. But you need
[58:21] Speaker 4: to be good, right, which is exactly why you're mentioning
[58:24] Speaker 4: a Tank Bigsby because it's peripheral like his. His his
[58:26] Speaker 4: secondary numbers were like great last year, you know, and
[58:29] Speaker 4: so like like, but what I think is really interesting
[58:31] Speaker 4: about that is that like people look at him as
[58:34] Speaker 4: a zero as you're saying, But realistically, the usability of
[58:37] Speaker 4: an Isaiah Pachecko type player is not any different than
[58:41] Speaker 4: the usability of a Tank Bigsby like player, because the
[58:43] Speaker 4: usability is like eight PPR points, you know, if they
[58:47] Speaker 4: if they are getting that like backup work, you know,
[58:49] Speaker 4: and maybe having a little bit more of a workloe
[58:51] Speaker 4: as a Bigsby. But obviously the upside is there for
[58:54] Speaker 4: for for the bigsb case, which is something I think
[58:56] Speaker 4: a lot of people just get wrong often.
[58:58] Speaker 5: Yeah, and like eight points is worth something in Best Ball,
[59:00] Speaker 5: but I think you're overestimated thing Pachecko can get eighty
[59:03] Speaker 5: eight points every week?
[59:05] Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean yeah, for sure. What do you think
[59:07] Speaker 1: about nol am I crazy?
[59:09] Speaker 4: No? No, I like I like the nole call out.
[59:12] Speaker 4: I throw random darts at that. I mean because it's
[59:14] Speaker 4: a good backstack too. It's just easy if it's like
[59:16] Speaker 4: Stroudfalls and stuff like that.
[59:17] Speaker 1: I have a ton of NOL.
[59:18] Speaker 4: I like the Trey Harris call out a lot too.
[59:20] Speaker 4: I don't know if it was like because doesn't didn't
[59:22] Speaker 4: Silva one week just like up Quentin Johnston like crazy
[59:27] Speaker 4: like and I'm blaming the DK shift on Silva, just
[59:31] Speaker 4: going ham on Quentin Johnston.
[59:33] Speaker 1: Because there was like a two week period QJ was like.
[59:35] Speaker 4: In the nineties or something, and then he just goes
[59:37] Speaker 4: up to the six seven turn out of nowhere, and
[59:40] Speaker 4: so I'm not draft And the other weird thing is
[59:43] Speaker 4: like like I have QJ in the Draft guide as
[59:45] Speaker 4: a late round dart throw because he goes in the
[59:47] Speaker 4: late rounds and like every you know, like mainly you know,
[59:51] Speaker 4: Yahoo and ESPN and stuff on DraftKings, he's so early,
[59:54] Speaker 4: whereas Trey Harris, I'm at like he's one of my
[59:56] Speaker 4: highest roster wide receivers, right.
[59:58] Speaker 1: Though I don't get it. I don't, I honestly don't
[1:00:00] Speaker 1: get it on QJB.
[1:00:00] Speaker 5: But I don't eve want to tweet about it because
[1:00:01] Speaker 5: there's like a lot of QJ fans out there you know,
[1:00:03] Speaker 5: I don't need to hate.
[1:00:05] Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's fine. I'm blaming Silva though, even
[1:00:07] Speaker 1: if it has nothing to do with Silva. I'm just
[1:00:09] Speaker 1: gonna fine, gonna.
[1:00:10] Speaker 4: Go that round, all right before I let you go
[1:00:12] Speaker 4: one one bold prediction, one fire take about this this
[1:00:15] Speaker 4: fantasy season.
[1:00:16] Speaker 5: Yes, I'll go with more of a real life take,
[1:00:18] Speaker 5: but obviously it flows through to fantasy. Bold prediction for
[1:00:21] Speaker 5: this year, Joe Burrow is the NFL's MVP. And the Bengals, Yes,
[1:00:26] Speaker 5: the Cincinnati Bengals win the Super Bowl, finally have like
[1:00:31] Speaker 5: two legit stars on defense in DJ Turner and Dexter Lawrence.
[1:00:36] Speaker 5: Finally have what like Randon Thorne has them as number
[1:00:39] Speaker 5: fifteen offensive line could play even better than that. And
[1:00:43] Speaker 5: like every time Joe Burrow stays healthy, I'm like, this
[1:00:46] Speaker 5: could be the best best offense in the league. They
[1:00:48] Speaker 5: He's so good it's crazy, you know. And like, obviously
[1:00:51] Speaker 5: I'm mainly focused on DFS, and like every week that
[1:00:55] Speaker 5: Burrow is out there and healthy regardless of matchup, I'm like,
[1:00:59] Speaker 5: this stack has the ceiling to win the week. And
[1:01:01] Speaker 5: so I really like the Burrow Chase Chase Brown type
[1:01:08] Speaker 5: stuff this year and I mixed T Higgins in there also,
[1:01:11] Speaker 5: so yeah, I think Bengal's gonna be very good this year.
[1:01:13] Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean they've.
[1:01:14] Speaker 4: Continue any of the offensive line for like the first
[1:01:16] Speaker 4: time like ever for Burrow too, which is yeah, you know,
[1:01:19] Speaker 4: should be super super helpful. So love to take love
