[0:07] Speaker 1: Late Round Fantasy Football YouTube channel YouTube dot com slash
[0:10] Speaker 1: at Late Round FF will be live each Wednesday at
[0:14] Speaker 1: noon Eastern without further ado.
[0:16] Speaker 2: Here's this week's.
[0:17] Speaker 3: Episode, Welcome In.
[0:30] Speaker 4: Welcome In. It's a Late Round Fantasy football show sponsored
[0:33] Speaker 4: by DraftKings. David Kitchen here alongside my quant JJ zachareson JJ,
[0:42] Speaker 4: how are you doing today?
[0:43] Speaker 2: I'm good, I'm fired up.
[0:44] Speaker 4: Man.
[0:45] Speaker 1: It's a we're peak fantasy football draft season, and this
[0:50] Speaker 1: is the time of year where, you know, in like July,
[0:53] Speaker 1: I'm not hearing much from people in terms of feedback
[0:55] Speaker 1: of rankings or how I feel about players. But this
[0:58] Speaker 1: is the time of year where people start to test me.
[1:01] Speaker 1: If you will not not in like a character way,
[1:04] Speaker 1: I mean in like a you know, why are you
[1:07] Speaker 1: so high on this guy?
[1:08] Speaker 2: You know you're wrong about this, Explain why you feel
[1:11] Speaker 2: this way.
[1:12] Speaker 1: And I love that part of this game because I
[1:16] Speaker 1: do think that there are there continue to be some
[1:20] Speaker 1: like general in my this is my opinion, of course,
[1:24] Speaker 1: flawed way of looking at fantasy football right. There was
[1:27] Speaker 1: a big discussion in the Late Round discord today because
[1:32] Speaker 1: if you guys have been listening to any Late Round
[1:35] Speaker 1: podcast episode for the last couple of weeks, maybe month,
[1:39] Speaker 1: it seems like anytime I talk about like sort of
[1:42] Speaker 1: like a boring you know, no upside type selection, I
[1:46] Speaker 1: just seem to bring up Courtland Sutton. You know, Courtland
[1:48] Speaker 1: Sutton's always getting thrown under the bus. And I did
[1:50] Speaker 1: it on becoming a bestball bro where I think in Bestball,
[1:54] Speaker 1: Courtland Sutton's a little bit of a different type of case.
[1:57] Speaker 1: But I don't know like number one, and I think
[2:00] Speaker 1: that that's still today. People are so best ball brained
[2:05] Speaker 1: in the fantasy football space where they don't recognize what
[2:09] Speaker 1: is going on on season long platforms in home leagues,
[2:14] Speaker 1: and ninety percent plus of this audience is listening for
[2:19] Speaker 1: that type of analysis, Like they want to know how
[2:22] Speaker 1: they can beat their ESPN ADP or the ESPNADP. They
[2:26] Speaker 1: want to know what their league mates might be doing
[2:28] Speaker 1: if they're drafting on Yahoo, right, they want to know.
[2:33] Speaker 1: They want to know how to beat their rooms on
[2:35] Speaker 1: those specific platforms, and best ball is totally different.
[2:38] Speaker 2: You know, there's stuff. I was tagged in a tweet
[2:40] Speaker 2: right before we.
[2:41] Speaker 1: Came went on air and someone was saying, like, can
[2:45] Speaker 1: you explain, you know, because there's a tweet by by
[2:47] Speaker 1: our friend Pat Thrman about base Shall Tuton and Bucky Irving,
[2:51] Speaker 1: And someone was like, can you explain you know, the
[2:53] Speaker 1: tutin or like like why you would prefer Touton over
[2:56] Speaker 1: Irving given this information, It's like, okay, I can get
[2:59] Speaker 1: all through.
[2:59] Speaker 2: I can go through that, and that can explain it.
[3:01] Speaker 1: But if you look at ADP on these platforms, like
[3:04] Speaker 1: Bucky Irving is going well ahead of base Shall Tuton
[3:06] Speaker 1: even though Best Ball is not doing that in season
[3:11] Speaker 1: long drafts, and in the season long format that we're
[3:13] Speaker 1: all you know, participating in right now, the majority of platforms,
[3:17] Speaker 1: the majority of leagues will still see Bucky Irving get
[3:20] Speaker 1: drafted ahead of ba Shall Tuton.
[3:21] Speaker 2: And so just because it's going on in Best.
[3:23] Speaker 1: Ball in that way does not mean that it's going
[3:27] Speaker 1: to go that way, you know, in your home league draft.
[3:30] Speaker 2: In fact, there's a lot of instances where it won't.
[3:32] Speaker 1: And so you know, the Courtland Sutton discussion got brought
[3:34] Speaker 1: up today and look the bottom line. If I were
[3:36] Speaker 1: to just like really dumb this down into just a
[3:39] Speaker 1: few sentences, the bottom line is that when I get
[3:41] Speaker 1: into round five, round six, round seven, round eight of
[3:44] Speaker 1: my fantasy drafts, I do not care. In most formats
[3:47] Speaker 1: where you're starting one quarterback, two running backs, two or
[3:50] Speaker 1: three wide outs, a tight end, a flex, I don't
[3:53] Speaker 1: care about a player simply meeting expectation. I do not
[3:56] Speaker 1: care if Courtland Sutton is drafted as the wide receiver
[4:00] Speaker 1: thirty or thirty thirty to thirty five and he finishes
[4:04] Speaker 1: as the wide receiver twenty seven. I don't care. It
[4:07] Speaker 1: does not matter. That does not move the needle at
[4:10] Speaker 1: all in fantasy football. And if you look at season
[4:13] Speaker 1: long platforms like ESPN right now is crazy. They're adp
[4:16] Speaker 1: Courtland Sutton is being drafted ahead of players like Parker Washington,
[4:20] Speaker 1: Mike Evans, you know, Jordan Tyson. I take all those
[4:24] Speaker 1: guys easily, easily over Courtland Sutton, and it's not even close,
[4:29] Speaker 1: you know. So my philosophy and fantasy football is that
[4:33] Speaker 1: I am trying to win, right And this is why
[4:37] Speaker 1: you know, to rant even more and hopefully people you
[4:39] Speaker 1: know enjoy this and aren't gonna just yell at me
[4:42] Speaker 1: for seeming like a seeming like I'm angry.
[4:44] Speaker 2: I'm not angry. I'm passionate. This is passion right.
[4:48] Speaker 1: Part of a huge reason why I hate rankings contest
[4:51] Speaker 1: is because rankings contests are based on median outcomes. Median
[4:55] Speaker 1: outcomes don't win fantasy championships sealing outcomes. When fantas championships,
[5:01] Speaker 1: you need league winning players. I do not care if
[5:04] Speaker 1: the RB twenty finishes as the RB nineteen, if the
[5:08] Speaker 1: RB twenty five finishes as the RB twenty three, it
[5:11] Speaker 1: does not matter to me. I want the RB twenty
[5:14] Speaker 1: to finish, or at least have the outcome of finish
[5:16] Speaker 1: or the possible outcome of finishing as the RB ten.
[5:20] Speaker 1: I need that with my picks when I'm drafting them,
[5:23] Speaker 1: and of course, as you get through your drafts, it's
[5:25] Speaker 1: not really that possible.
[5:26] Speaker 2: And I'm not saying that you only do. There's a
[5:29] Speaker 2: balance to it.
[5:29] Speaker 1: You know, there are some teams where you might want
[5:31] Speaker 1: to get Courtland Sutton if you have really deep rosters,
[5:34] Speaker 1: because maybe there's some safety to it. I don't think
[5:36] Speaker 1: there's that much safety to it, though, because there's a
[5:38] Speaker 1: guy we're gonna talk about on today's show, and there's
[5:40] Speaker 1: Jalen Waddell at being added to this equation. I'm like,
[5:43] Speaker 1: I don't understand why people are still so gravitated towards
[5:46] Speaker 1: you know, Courtland Sutton or like, I see so many
[5:48] Speaker 1: tweets about JK Dobbins and I'm like, did you guys
[5:50] Speaker 1: see what he did last year.
[5:51] Speaker 2: Without Jonah Coleman in the offense?
[5:53] Speaker 1: Like he wasn't even that like unbelievably usable last year,
[5:57] Speaker 1: and then now you're you're pumping him up're getting all excited.
[5:59] Speaker 1: I just I'm trying to use this platform to show
[6:03] Speaker 1: people that fourth place does not matter in fantasy football.
[6:08] Speaker 1: I can give you a fourth place roster, you know,
[6:10] Speaker 1: I can take you down that path, but without injury.
[6:14] Speaker 1: I don't think Courtland Sutton is a first place type player.
[6:17] Speaker 1: I think he's a fifth place type player, you know.
[6:19] Speaker 1: And so I'm trying to do my best to explain
[6:22] Speaker 1: all of that as I go through. And that's why
[6:24] Speaker 1: my rankings look the way that they look. And I'm
[6:27] Speaker 1: not playing this.
[6:28] Speaker 2: In a in action yea, in a safety type way,
[6:33] Speaker 2: you know.
[6:33] Speaker 1: I'm trying to explain that I'm looking at range of outcomes,
[6:36] Speaker 1: and I'm going to chase that higher end outcome because
[6:39] Speaker 1: in the end, that is what's going to win your
[6:41] Speaker 1: Fantasy championship.
[6:43] Speaker 4: Yeah, that's like that. You know, the median projections like
[6:46] Speaker 4: we talked about, You know, they can only carry you
[6:48] Speaker 4: so far. I know people want like custom rankings for
[6:51] Speaker 4: their draft based on projections. Listen, that is that's a trap.
[6:55] Speaker 4: You talked about it on X. Speaking of X, I
[6:57] Speaker 4: just posted I said we're live now and Jay Jay
[7:00] Speaker 4: is passionate. That's before you even said you're passionate. So, uh,
[7:06] Speaker 4: that's how I That's how I know you.
[7:08] Speaker 1: You guys could either have me just being a boring,
[7:11] Speaker 1: nerdy guy sitting on here talking numbers, or you I
[7:15] Speaker 1: genuinely care.
[7:16] Speaker 2: I want you guys to win.
[7:17] Speaker 1: I want to be a good analyst and I want
[7:19] Speaker 1: to go through the processing, the reasoning as to why
[7:22] Speaker 1: I feel the way that I do about this game.
[7:24] Speaker 4: I want my analysts being exciting and nerdy. Is that
[7:28] Speaker 4: too much to ask? So passionate and nerdy, definitely nerdy.
[7:33] Speaker 4: That's the whole brand. Listen. We have a lot of
[7:37] Speaker 4: stuff to talk about, but before we do, just a
[7:40] Speaker 4: few minor details first. We've got the Draft Guide over
[7:45] Speaker 4: at lateround dot com, the new late red dot com.
[7:47] Speaker 4: If you're just now kind of tuning in or you've
[7:50] Speaker 4: taken some time off, go to late round dot com.
[7:52] Speaker 4: It's going to be a brand new website. You can
[7:54] Speaker 4: get your membership there. You get the all access membership
[7:57] Speaker 4: where you get all the guides, all the inside are access.
[8:00] Speaker 4: Or you can just purchase the Draft Guide there either
[8:03] Speaker 4: or and while you're there, sign up for the newsletter.
[8:06] Speaker 4: It's free and people are enjoying it. And we also
[8:11] Speaker 4: like to thank our sponsors, DraftKings for sponsoring this show.
[8:16] Speaker 4: And after this show, JJ will be drafting a best
[8:20] Speaker 4: Ball team, so on a stream it will redirect there.
[8:25] Speaker 4: If you're listening on demand, you can go back and
[8:28] Speaker 4: watch that draft happen. It's a good time, interactive chat,
[8:32] Speaker 4: all that good stuff. And speaking of DraftKings, they do
[8:35] Speaker 4: have the draft one Get one promotion still around. There's
[8:38] Speaker 4: other contests, other basketball contests. I'm saying it right now,
[8:41] Speaker 4: one dollar best ball contest is better than a free
[8:44] Speaker 4: mock draft, and that might that might be get a
[8:48] Speaker 4: little pushback from people, but you know, when there's some
[8:51] Speaker 4: skin in the game, it's a good way to prep
[8:54] Speaker 4: for that. We have best ball rankings on the site.
[8:59] Speaker 4: And also if you're an customer for DraftKings, they have
[9:02] Speaker 4: the play Week one NFL for free with a minimum
[9:06] Speaker 4: five dollars deposit, and you can go into promotions tab
[9:09] Speaker 4: and they've got a whole bunch of other promotions as
[9:11] Speaker 4: well for existing customers. So, JJ, we have set the
[9:14] Speaker 4: table and I think, I mean, we have so much
[9:18] Speaker 4: to talk about, So without further ado, let's just get
[9:22] Speaker 4: into it. It's today's news, today's fantasy news. All right,
[9:29] Speaker 4: let's start with some wide receiver talk. Rut Row Rashie
[9:32] Speaker 4: of Rashi Rice. Is you mentioned it yesterday you had
[9:39] Speaker 4: like an Apex Writers draft. You somehow landed Jefferson in
[9:45] Speaker 4: the second round, but then it came time for Rice
[9:49] Speaker 4: to come back around, and you usually, yeah, pass on that.
[9:53] Speaker 4: We're seeing a lot of clips on x and social
[9:56] Speaker 4: media platforms where I'm just not being comforted as a
[10:00] Speaker 4: as a Rice owner.
[10:01] Speaker 1: He look, he's one of the toughest players for me
[10:04] Speaker 1: to rank this year because I don't think that he's
[10:07] Speaker 1: exceptionally amazing at the game. I think he's good, but
[10:10] Speaker 1: I think he's good in a specific role in a
[10:12] Speaker 1: specific way of running that offense where he's a very
[10:15] Speaker 1: good yards after the catch receiver, and that's what he
[10:17] Speaker 1: was out of college too. You know, you can go
[10:18] Speaker 1: you know, Za Model didn't really love Rashi Rice, admittedly,
[10:21] Speaker 1: like I was wrong with Rashi Rice, but I do
[10:25] Speaker 1: think that you know, he's being used in a way
[10:27] Speaker 1: that I didn't project, which was a mistake. And you know,
[10:30] Speaker 1: him playing that slot role, he just has been peppered
[10:33] Speaker 1: with targets and he's good after the catch. But in
[10:36] Speaker 1: terms of just like a traditional typical, you know, high
[10:39] Speaker 1: end wide receiver that you see in fantasy, he's not
[10:41] Speaker 1: necessarily that kind of player. And to me, there's a
[10:44] Speaker 1: lot of fragility to that kind of archetype because if
[10:48] Speaker 1: it changes just a little bit, if Cyrus Allen really
[10:50] Speaker 1: does break out, if the offense turns a little bit
[10:54] Speaker 1: more into a run heavy one with Kenneth Walker, there
[10:58] Speaker 1: all of a sudden, you know Rashi right, you could
[11:00] Speaker 1: see the the downturn you know of his production, and
[11:04] Speaker 1: so I think it's a little bit different in best Ball,
[11:06] Speaker 1: where you know there's there's gonna be that production and like,
[11:09] Speaker 1: if you want to I'm trying to stay at market
[11:10] Speaker 1: basically in Best Ball, and I got him a little
[11:12] Speaker 1: bit cheaper when all that stuff was going on with him,
[11:15] Speaker 1: but even still, it's like, yeah, it's a it's a
[11:18] Speaker 1: tough profile to like really buy into. So I was,
[11:20] Speaker 1: you know, as I'm doing drafts this time of year,
[11:23] Speaker 1: I'm able to really be like like like tested with
[11:28] Speaker 1: my rankings in the way that I feel about players.
[11:30] Speaker 1: And you know, there's gonna be players that move up
[11:32] Speaker 1: and down rankings based on you know, news items or
[11:35] Speaker 1: or you know, more research that I'm doing, or just
[11:37] Speaker 1: the legitimately. You know, I'm on the clock, what decision
[11:41] Speaker 1: do I make? And when I was on the clock there,
[11:43] Speaker 1: I had the choice between Chris Alave, DeVante Smith, and
[11:48] Speaker 1: Rashid Rice, and I chose DeVante Smith because I am.
[11:51] Speaker 2: Very high on Smith.
[11:52] Speaker 1: You know, if someone I might have to write him
[11:53] Speaker 1: as a player to target based on my overall ranking
[11:55] Speaker 1: of him, because I think he's like a two three
[11:57] Speaker 1: turn guy and a lot of platforms have hibout like
[11:59] Speaker 1: three or and so you know, he's a player that
[12:03] Speaker 1: I think can ascend and take the next step as
[12:05] Speaker 1: the alpha and then offense, you look at his splits.
[12:07] Speaker 1: Obviously it's a little bit different, but you look at
[12:09] Speaker 1: his splits without aj Brown, he's been like close to
[12:11] Speaker 1: a thirty percent target shair type player.
[12:13] Speaker 2: Like, there's a lot to like about Smith. And the
[12:15] Speaker 2: upside of Smith.
[12:16] Speaker 1: I think he's you know, if you want to talk
[12:17] Speaker 1: candidates of being like this year's JSN, I think he's
[12:19] Speaker 1: got to be at the top of that list or
[12:21] Speaker 1: close to it with like a Maconkey, you know, in
[12:23] Speaker 1: Abuca whatever.
[12:24] Speaker 2: But yeah, I mean, I'm.
[12:26] Speaker 1: I'm very bullish on DeVante Smith, and I'm getting more
[12:30] Speaker 1: and more scared of for she Rice. And actually after
[12:32] Speaker 1: I made that pick, is when that report came out
[12:34] Speaker 1: about how he wasn't moving well Rashi Rice, how his
[12:36] Speaker 1: need didn't seem a hundred percent. So now we have
[12:39] Speaker 1: like a tangible piece and reason to really move for
[12:42] Speaker 1: she Rice down the board. And so I'm going to
[12:45] Speaker 1: be moving him down the board because I'm just more
[12:46] Speaker 1: and more scared of what we might get from him
[12:49] Speaker 1: in a very like it could be fine if he
[12:51] Speaker 1: gets peppered the same way, but it's still a fragile
[12:53] Speaker 1: situation overall.
[12:55] Speaker 4: Okay, next, we have a burden to bear. Burden, boy,
[13:01] Speaker 4: he scared us. He sure scared us. You actually you
[13:05] Speaker 4: actually messaged me and Godula, Yeah, and you said, listen,
[13:11] Speaker 4: if Burden is out for the season, we might have
[13:14] Speaker 4: to shut down the company.
[13:15] Speaker 1: Yeah, the company would be shut down. Yes, late round
[13:19] Speaker 1: Fantasy FOOTBA would cease to exist if Luther.
[13:21] Speaker 4: Only a groin injury though, and they're thinking he's going
[13:25] Speaker 4: to be back by by week one.
[13:27] Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean it sounds pretty good.
[13:29] Speaker 1: And the other thing too, is that there was a
[13:30] Speaker 1: clip of him the day after, or like a couple
[13:33] Speaker 1: of days after walking around at camp, and there wasn't
[13:35] Speaker 1: a noticeable limp, and a lot of the reliable pets
[13:39] Speaker 1: and doctors that are on Twitter, you know, Jeff Mueller,
[13:42] Speaker 1: et cetera, they were saying that typically if it's a
[13:48] Speaker 1: you know, grade two type strain, there would be a
[13:51] Speaker 1: more noticeable limp with the player, and there wasn't with
[13:55] Speaker 1: Luther Burden, which made them seem like and feel like
[13:58] Speaker 1: this is not a super super serious situation and that
[14:02] Speaker 1: they're just playing it safe because obviously he's an important
[14:04] Speaker 1: part of their offense. So I did move him down
[14:07] Speaker 1: a little bit within the tier. But I've seen some
[14:10] Speaker 1: takes of like let's take Roma Dunze over.
[14:12] Speaker 2: I'm not there.
[14:12] Speaker 1: I still think Burden is a very you know, look,
[14:15] Speaker 1: I think that the Burden versus a Dunsay thing at
[14:18] Speaker 1: this point, there's very much a like real football versus
[14:21] Speaker 1: fantasy football divide.
[14:22] Speaker 2: I think that's going on here.
[14:24] Speaker 1: Where Roma Dunza might be the better, more classic wide
[14:28] Speaker 1: receiver in terms of his ability at playing that position.
[14:32] Speaker 1: That might be very versatile across you know, different offensive schemes,
[14:39] Speaker 1: and he could play anywhere, right, But I do think
[14:42] Speaker 1: that we have to layer in obviously, with the layer
[14:44] Speaker 1: in scheme and what that might look like. And with
[14:48] Speaker 1: Ben Johnson we've seen it for years. With Amen Ross
[14:51] Speaker 1: Saint Brown, we saw it even last year. He is
[14:53] Speaker 1: so good at scheming his guys open to create yards
[14:57] Speaker 1: after the catch. And Luther Burden is one of the
[15:00] Speaker 1: best YAK players that we've seen come out in some time.
[15:03] Speaker 1: Like he's very very good with the ball in his hands,
[15:05] Speaker 1: and so if he gets some layup touches. You can
[15:08] Speaker 1: sit there and say, oh, there's no skill involved in
[15:10] Speaker 1: doing that. I don't really care, you know, like, because
[15:13] Speaker 1: they're clearly doing that. Because and not only that, I
[15:15] Speaker 1: think there is a ceiling. Now, someone might sit there
[15:18] Speaker 1: and say, didn't you just say the exact opposite about
[15:20] Speaker 1: Rashi Rice. No, I mean I said the same thing
[15:23] Speaker 1: about Rashi Rice, and I'm more fading Rice and I'm
[15:26] Speaker 1: targeting Burden.
[15:27] Speaker 2: And the main reason for that is.
[15:29] Speaker 1: That I think Burden has more general ability at playing
[15:32] Speaker 1: the wide receiver position in a lot more room for
[15:34] Speaker 1: growth to be a legitimate stud in the NFL, whereas
[15:38] Speaker 1: I think we've seen what Rashid Rice generally is right,
[15:41] Speaker 1: And then you have the backbone of Luther Burden being
[15:43] Speaker 1: an excellent prospect according to zat model. It all comes
[15:46] Speaker 1: together to me just being very high on Burden and
[15:48] Speaker 1: the reason why, you know, like he's my highest exposed
[15:50] Speaker 1: player in best Ball right now in the earlier rounds.
[15:54] Speaker 1: And look, it's it goes back to my rant earlier
[15:57] Speaker 1: about shooting for upside all of that. You know, I
[16:00] Speaker 1: understand what medium projections might be showing, but I also
[16:04] Speaker 1: can see a scenario where Luthor Burden goes nuclear this
[16:07] Speaker 1: year and he just has a really, really good season.
[16:10] Speaker 1: And I do think that, you know, this injury is
[16:12] Speaker 1: just a scare more than anything else.
[16:14] Speaker 2: You know, it's not it's it's not perfect.
[16:17] Speaker 1: You'd rather him not be hurt at all, but it
[16:19] Speaker 1: does sound like he's gonna be fine for week one.
[16:21] Speaker 4: And uh hopefully plenty of points to go around. We'll
[16:23] Speaker 4: talk about that in a second. All right, this one,
[16:26] Speaker 4: I was proud of PRP or to not PRP, That
[16:30] Speaker 4: is the question. Alec Pierce uh supposedly at for it
[16:35] Speaker 4: came out that he had like a second PRP shot,
[16:39] Speaker 4: which is plasma replacement therapy. I think maybe something, but
[16:45] Speaker 4: basically it would not.
[16:47] Speaker 2: You should know with the peptide stuff right.
[16:50] Speaker 4: Now, don't bring up peptides. You're gonna trigger, You're gonna
[16:54] Speaker 4: trigger an ad Uh. But I'll say that as someone
[16:59] Speaker 4: who's been like, yeah, he'll be fine, he'll be fine.
[17:02] Speaker 4: The fact that we're debating this, I'm just like cooling
[17:05] Speaker 4: way off on Alec pierces.
[17:07] Speaker 2: Right.
[17:08] Speaker 1: Yeah, I would agree. Also, really quick, someone said it's
[17:10] Speaker 1: Loveland season, not Burden.
[17:12] Speaker 4: I think it can be both. I think people are
[17:14] Speaker 4: gonna be sure. Talk about this in a second. We'll
[17:16] Speaker 4: talk about it in a second. There is a segment. Well,
[17:19] Speaker 4: we'll talk about all the Bears players, will we Yeah? Yeah,
[17:23] Speaker 4: save it?
[17:23] Speaker 1: Yeah, Okay, I'll save it. That's fine, all right, Alec Pierce.
[17:27] Speaker 1: What if I just started talking about Sam Laporta or
[17:29] Speaker 1: Tua or something. Uh right, his kitchen takes a sip
[17:33] Speaker 1: of whatever smoothe he's drinking.
[17:35] Speaker 2: Uh. The Alec Piers stuff is frightening, man.
[17:38] Speaker 1: I mean, there was the report that came out, like
[17:40] Speaker 1: you know, and they're like, oh, he got another injection.
[17:43] Speaker 1: No one knew the timeline of it. But then Chris
[17:44] Speaker 1: Ballard comes out and is like, no, there wasn't an injection.
[17:48] Speaker 1: To me, there is still video and I'm not a doctor,
[17:52] Speaker 1: but there's still video of like yesterday of him signing
[17:54] Speaker 1: autographs for little kids that where he's limping.
[17:59] Speaker 2: He had his in what March.
[18:00] Speaker 1: I think it was something something around then, And yeah,
[18:04] Speaker 1: I'm frightened out of my mind. And I think this
[18:06] Speaker 1: is a team that needs to get Keenan Allen needs
[18:08] Speaker 1: to do something at wide receiver.
[18:10] Speaker 2: Maybe they trade for keishaon Booty.
[18:12] Speaker 1: And honestly, Booty would actually kind of work as as
[18:15] Speaker 1: a replacement for for Alec Pierce because he can.
[18:17] Speaker 2: Get down the field.
[18:18] Speaker 1: But I I don't think that's the way that Booty
[18:20] Speaker 1: should necessarily be used in the NFL regardless, they need
[18:23] Speaker 1: to make a move because their wide receiver depth chart
[18:25] Speaker 1: is frighteningly bad. I love Josh Downs, but him as
[18:29] Speaker 1: like the alpha, you know, and with no one behind him,
[18:32] Speaker 1: obviously it's gonna run through Tyler Warren and Jonathan Taylor.
[18:35] Speaker 1: It's scary. I don't think that you can draft Alec
[18:37] Speaker 1: Pearce right now. I'm scared that he's gonna go on
[18:38] Speaker 1: the pup uh to enter the season and uh.
[18:41] Speaker 2: You know, we won't won't see him for a handful
[18:43] Speaker 2: of weeks.
[18:43] Speaker 1: But we'll see, you know. There there's there's obviously a
[18:47] Speaker 1: discount that you're gonna see. But but I think that
[18:49] Speaker 1: in a lot of season long leagues there might still
[18:52] Speaker 1: not be because people just aren't as on top of
[18:54] Speaker 1: what this is, uh is revealing right now.
[18:57] Speaker 4: Yeah, and you've talked about a few times how you
[18:59] Speaker 4: just don't understand why people have not been as high
[19:02] Speaker 4: on Tyler Warren.
[19:04] Speaker 1: Yeah, it's kind of interesting to me, Like, I feel like,
[19:06] Speaker 1: you know, Loveland's getting Look, look, I think Loveland's a
[19:08] Speaker 1: better player than Tyler Warren. The Z that model loved
[19:11] Speaker 1: Colson Lovelin and but it liked Tyler Warren too, and
[19:14] Speaker 1: he was pretty good in year one. And also now
[19:17] Speaker 1: he could just walk into like a twenty five percent
[19:19] Speaker 1: target chair pretty easily in that Colts offense, whereas you know,
[19:22] Speaker 1: I think Loveland can see a really high target share too.
[19:25] Speaker 1: It's just there's obviously more pieces that they have to
[19:27] Speaker 1: feed in set offense. So yeah, I think Warren is
[19:30] Speaker 1: a little bit more interesting than he was before, and
[19:33] Speaker 1: there hasn't been any budgeting of his ADP. But I
[19:36] Speaker 1: think the offense too, Like I don't know, man, You know,
[19:39] Speaker 1: Alec Pierce is really good for real football purposes the
[19:43] Speaker 1: way that he can stretch the field, and that opens
[19:45] Speaker 1: up a lot upfront for them, and I do worry
[19:48] Speaker 1: what this could look like without him.
[19:50] Speaker 4: Okay, we have some Puka Jacob's uncertainty. Adam Schefter yesterday,
[19:56] Speaker 4: I thought that we were kind of past. Adam Schefter
[19:58] Speaker 4: yesterday though said that he wouldn't be surprised if something
[20:04] Speaker 4: happened with Jacobs some sort of punishment during the season.
[20:07] Speaker 4: And also we have Puka injury, Puoka maybe not being
[20:11] Speaker 4: able to play the first game, Like, we don't know
[20:13] Speaker 4: what's going to happen. But what's your take on this.
[20:15] Speaker 1: They're being oddly specific about Puka missing the first game.
[20:19] Speaker 4: The first game, yes, and I'm thinking it's an international
[20:21] Speaker 4: game too.
[20:22] Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm thinking there might there might be a one
[20:25] Speaker 1: game suspension coming, like you know, not to say that
[20:29] Speaker 1: like schefter knows all or anything like that, but I
[20:32] Speaker 1: don't think that, like he would throw something like that
[20:33] Speaker 1: out there for absolutely no reason, and so we might
[20:38] Speaker 1: see something happen with Puka. He's gonna move down a
[20:41] Speaker 1: little bit in my like, I'm still gonna have him
[20:42] Speaker 1: that I'm gonna have him a wide receiver too, but
[20:44] Speaker 1: I've had him actually ahead of Jamar Chase because I
[20:46] Speaker 1: just like the projection in the potential for him a
[20:49] Speaker 1: little bit more. But if they're in the same tier,
[20:51] Speaker 1: you could go either way. But that's enough for me
[20:53] Speaker 1: to move Chase over him officially, maybe even you know,
[20:56] Speaker 1: if we get the the news he's not gonna be able
[20:59] Speaker 1: to play we one, maybe even moving down into that
[21:01] Speaker 1: next tier. But don't overstate, you know, what one game
[21:05] Speaker 1: would do, especially early on in the season when there's no.
[21:08] Speaker 2: Bye weeks and stuff.
[21:09] Speaker 1: The Josh Jacobs thing is really interesting because I've been
[21:11] Speaker 1: lower than the market. You know, the season long market
[21:15] Speaker 1: with Jacobs. I think that if he were healthy, with
[21:17] Speaker 1: no none of this uncertainty, he'd probably be like a
[21:20] Speaker 1: two three turn type pick. And obviously in best Ball
[21:23] Speaker 1: he goes a lot later than that, but and managed
[21:26] Speaker 1: season long leagues, he's still ranked.
[21:28] Speaker 4: Really high, like there's a second third round.
[21:30] Speaker 1: Yeah, none of this is baked into his ADP on
[21:32] Speaker 1: these major platforms, which is why I have him as
[21:35] Speaker 1: a fade right now, you know, on those platforms because
[21:38] Speaker 1: there's a lot of good wide receivers there and even
[21:40] Speaker 1: you know, I wouldn't be taking like certainly wouldn't be
[21:42] Speaker 1: taking like a Derrick Henry over him or something like that,
[21:45] Speaker 1: or I would be taking a Dereck Henry over him.
[21:48] Speaker 2: And so yeah, I mean, like, I'm still scared of Jacobs.
[21:52] Speaker 1: You know, he's been banged up a little bit too,
[21:54] Speaker 1: and he's kind of I know that he's he was
[21:55] Speaker 1: a younger prospect, but he is getting up there from
[21:57] Speaker 1: a touch perspective, you know, and and getting so much
[22:00] Speaker 1: work throughout his career, so it could be sort of
[22:03] Speaker 1: on that that wrong side of the curve in terms
[22:06] Speaker 1: of fantasy production for Jacobs.
[22:08] Speaker 4: All Right, we don't we have a lot to talk about,
[22:10] Speaker 4: So we don't have to talk about this a lot,
[22:12] Speaker 4: but I just want it to everyone that listens to
[22:15] Speaker 4: this podcast watches. Hey, Kyler Murray is a starting quarterback
[22:18] Speaker 4: for the Minnesota Vikings. Not the guy that was completely
[22:21] Speaker 4: terrible last year, the other JJ, the bad JK.
[22:25] Speaker 1: Yeah, but I'm not surprised that Kyler starting. I'm a
[22:28] Speaker 1: little bit getting a little bit concerned about what it
[22:31] Speaker 1: might do for Justin Jefferson. But like you, like you said,
[22:34] Speaker 1: I had the one oh seven in this draft. I
[22:36] Speaker 1: took am and ros Saint Brown, and then Justin Jefferson
[22:38] Speaker 1: fell to me in the second round, and I still
[22:40] Speaker 1: I took him, but it still felt a little uneasy
[22:42] Speaker 1: just because of the ambiguity at quarterback.
[22:44] Speaker 2: But I'm trusting the process here.
[22:46] Speaker 1: I think Kyler's an upgrade and maybe it was one
[22:49] Speaker 1: of those situations where he just needed more reps and
[22:51] Speaker 1: needed to feel comfortable as like the starter and just
[22:53] Speaker 1: and just having that spot.
[22:54] Speaker 2: So we'll see.
[22:56] Speaker 4: Okay, we got some Parker Washington steam you talk You
[23:00] Speaker 4: talked about it on becoming a bestball bro episode. But
[23:05] Speaker 4: if he stays on the field, which with they're reporting,
[23:08] Speaker 4: he's going to be out there. You know, there's four
[23:11] Speaker 4: wide receivers competing for all these spots. But if he's
[23:14] Speaker 4: gonna be on the field pretty much all the time,
[23:16] Speaker 4: then he deservedly so deserves to get all this steam.
[23:21] Speaker 1: One of the most miss priced players in on season
[23:24] Speaker 1: long platforms is Parker Washington because he goes a lot
[23:26] Speaker 1: later than you know in Best Ball, let's say, but
[23:29] Speaker 1: even in Best Ball, if you're taking him a round five,
[23:31] Speaker 1: I think it's fine because because like we're looking at
[23:33] Speaker 1: a situation where we're like, we just have to think
[23:37] Speaker 1: logically from Jacksonville's perspective. When Parker Washington took over. I
[23:40] Speaker 1: talked about this on the Targets episode with Silva. But
[23:43] Speaker 1: when Parker Washington took over, they were the third best
[23:45] Speaker 1: team in touchdowns per game last year. Washington had an
[23:48] Speaker 1: absurd yards per out run rate. He was so productive.
[23:51] Speaker 1: The Liam Cohen offense often goes through the slot, and
[23:55] Speaker 1: Washington can get vertical too. He's a very good player, right,
[23:59] Speaker 1: And so I I think that all the things that
[24:02] Speaker 1: we're hearing are sort of pointing us in a direction
[24:05] Speaker 1: of they're going to want to continue doing what they
[24:07] Speaker 1: were doing that was working because why would they not
[24:10] Speaker 1: do that?
[24:11] Speaker 2: Right?
[24:12] Speaker 1: And so that's why I just keep getting more and
[24:13] Speaker 1: more bullish, because there's a lot of good you know,
[24:16] Speaker 1: reading reading between the lines, not even between the lines.
[24:18] Speaker 1: They're just being really overt about it. But there's a
[24:21] Speaker 1: lot to like about what's being said about Washington and
[24:24] Speaker 1: if he is a full time receiver. Remember last year
[24:26] Speaker 1: when Travis Hunter went down, he was still a little
[24:29] Speaker 1: bit under that eighty percent route share mark Parker Washington was.
[24:32] Speaker 1: If that goes up even by like five percentage points,
[24:34] Speaker 1: if he gets I mean, if he gets more from
[24:37] Speaker 1: a from a route share perspective, I mean, there's a
[24:40] Speaker 1: there's a lot of upside with Washington.
[24:41] Speaker 2: So I'm very in especially in these season long platforms.
[24:45] Speaker 4: And you mentioned it. I just pulled up some ESPN
[24:47] Speaker 4: ADP Parker Washington one oh two right now. I mean, yeah,
[24:52] Speaker 4: talking about eighth, ninth round, which is is crazy, he's
[24:56] Speaker 4: going you look at guys like Michael Pittman, which is
[24:59] Speaker 4: he's going round or two ahead of him.
[25:01] Speaker 1: Yeah, And look, I understand that people are like, well,
[25:04] Speaker 1: that's not gonna happen in my league.
[25:05] Speaker 2: Blah blah blah blah.
[25:06] Speaker 1: I get it, but a lot of people still are
[25:08] Speaker 1: anchored to you know, what goes on in these on
[25:11] Speaker 1: these platforms from an ADP perspective, Like even on on
[25:14] Speaker 1: Yahoo right now, you can get Parker Washington after DK Metcalf,
[25:19] Speaker 1: Brian Thomas, Alec Pierce, Marvin Harrison Junior. I'd be taking
[25:23] Speaker 1: him over Carnell Tate, who goes ahead of him. And
[25:25] Speaker 1: I don't mind Tate either. It's just that I think
[25:27] Speaker 1: Parker Washington has a good bit of upside and he's
[25:30] Speaker 1: he's just under price on those platforms.
[25:33] Speaker 4: Okay, let's talk about starting depth charts. Starting depth charts,
[25:37] Speaker 4: because obviously we've had all these coaches come out talk
[25:42] Speaker 4: about their time share that they're splitting between all their
[25:47] Speaker 4: running backs. You know, we've got news that like George
[25:50] Speaker 4: Halaani was, are we one for the Seahawks?
[25:54] Speaker 2: How much?
[25:56] Speaker 4: How much do you put into these starting depth charts,
[25:58] Speaker 4: especially when it involves rookies zero zero.
[26:02] Speaker 2: I don't care about the depth charts.
[26:03] Speaker 1: I kind of maybe a little bit care about where
[26:06] Speaker 1: they're placing the wide receivers and how they see him
[26:08] Speaker 1: in the slot versus not because a lot of depth
[26:10] Speaker 1: charts will distinguish that I don't care about the depth
[26:13] Speaker 1: charts stuff. I care about what they've been saying out
[26:16] Speaker 1: of Seattle throughout the summer, and I it feels like
[26:19] Speaker 1: the market is just ignoring what the news has.
[26:23] Speaker 2: Said about that backfield.
[26:25] Speaker 1: And look, with backfield stuff, I care a little bit
[26:27] Speaker 1: more about what you know, beat writers are saying and such,
[26:31] Speaker 1: because that comes down to a coaching decision the amount
[26:34] Speaker 1: of volume.
[26:34] Speaker 2: These guys will get.
[26:35] Speaker 1: And I look at Seattle and last year we're screaming
[26:38] Speaker 1: and saying, why aren't you using Kenneth Walker more? Why
[26:41] Speaker 1: aren't you you know, why are you splitting this backfield
[26:44] Speaker 1: the way that you are with Zach Sharpenay and Lo
[26:46] Speaker 1: and behold, they won the Super Bowl and they kind
[26:49] Speaker 1: of handled it perfectly given what they accomplished, right, So
[26:53] Speaker 1: there is this confirmation bias from them that says, hey,
[26:57] Speaker 1: we don't need to run these guys into the ground,
[26:58] Speaker 1: because look at what happened last last year when we
[27:01] Speaker 1: had Sharbes and Walker and the way that Walker was
[27:04] Speaker 1: able to be fresh and get Super Bowl MVP.
[27:07] Speaker 2: Right.
[27:07] Speaker 1: And so they go out, they get Generium Price, who
[27:09] Speaker 1: has never been you know, a full blow in Belcow
[27:12] Speaker 1: because he's playing with Jeremiah Love in college. Comes out
[27:15] Speaker 1: and they're like, hey, George Allani's going to be involved
[27:17] Speaker 1: in this offense. Hey, maybe we see a little bit
[27:19] Speaker 1: of Manuel Wilson too. Oh and by the way, one
[27:22] Speaker 1: of the most undertok storylines in all of fantasy football
[27:25] Speaker 1: has been the fact that they think Zach Sharbona is
[27:28] Speaker 1: going to be back a lot sooner than the standard
[27:31] Speaker 1: November type timeframe that we would expect given when that
[27:34] Speaker 1: ACL surgery happened.
[27:36] Speaker 2: Right, and if we see.
[27:38] Speaker 4: Sharbone's possible that he avoids the pup list, which means
[27:42] Speaker 4: that he would likely to be back the first four
[27:44] Speaker 4: weeks of the season, right, he.
[27:45] Speaker 1: Could be back in September, like, and I'm not saying
[27:47] Speaker 1: that that's a lock, but the fact that they're talking
[27:49] Speaker 1: about Sharbonay in that way, you know, like I think
[27:52] Speaker 1: they would want a split backfield in an ideal world, right,
[27:56] Speaker 1: And so that's why I haven't really gone all in
[27:58] Speaker 1: with with Generium Price, even though there some trends that
[28:01] Speaker 1: would favor him, you know, like standalone rookie in the
[28:04] Speaker 1: middle rounds ADP wise generally smash right, And I don't
[28:07] Speaker 1: think he's a bad pick. He's certainly not a fade
[28:09] Speaker 1: for me, but I do think that you should be
[28:11] Speaker 1: aware that we're probably gonna see some sort of split
[28:14] Speaker 1: in that backfield, probably more than you would expect based
[28:17] Speaker 1: on the other play. Like George Hallani is a very
[28:20] Speaker 1: replaceable type player, you know, but I do think he's
[28:23] Speaker 1: going to be involved a little bit, you know, to
[28:25] Speaker 1: start this season.
[28:27] Speaker 4: Okay, we generally try to keep it to skilled players,
[28:30] Speaker 4: but this one is too big to ignore. Laramie Tunzel,
[28:34] Speaker 4: He's going to be probably missing the entire regular season,
[28:37] Speaker 4: possibly even more with the torn triceps. He of course
[28:40] Speaker 4: is the offensive tackle there in Washington, So bad news
[28:44] Speaker 4: for the Commander's offense, and.
[28:46] Speaker 2: It's horrible news.
[28:47] Speaker 1: This is an offense that I was really optimistic about.
[28:49] Speaker 1: I'm still optimistic about, but it's one that we're going
[28:52] Speaker 1: to see a lot more of them under center. In
[28:54] Speaker 1: the last two years, we've seen them run out of
[28:57] Speaker 1: shotgun according to True Media at an eighty nine percent,
[29:00] Speaker 1: which is by far, by far the highest.
[29:03] Speaker 2: Rate in football.
[29:04] Speaker 1: And when you're under center, you can just do more
[29:06] Speaker 1: with like rollouts, you can you know, the running back
[29:08] Speaker 1: can can can do a little bit more in terms
[29:10] Speaker 1: of using the whole field instead of just part of
[29:12] Speaker 1: the field, and having good, strong offensive line play can
[29:16] Speaker 1: go a really long.
[29:16] Speaker 2: Way with that, right, So yeah, it's a big deal.
[29:21] Speaker 1: You know, my rankings will probably drop those guys just
[29:23] Speaker 1: to Tad maybe not like a Dig's as much or
[29:26] Speaker 1: a McLaurin as much, but maybe a Jayden Daniels going
[29:29] Speaker 1: below a guy that that you know in the same
[29:31] Speaker 1: tier or you know, Jacry Krosky, Merritt and Rashad White,
[29:35] Speaker 1: you know, like like dropping a little bit because obviously,
[29:38] Speaker 1: you know there's there's a worse offensive line there. That's
[29:40] Speaker 1: He's one of the most important players to any team
[29:43] Speaker 1: in football. So it's a it's a pretty big deal
[29:45] Speaker 1: that he's down.
[29:46] Speaker 4: Okay, staying with that same same offense. Sefan Diggs is back,
[29:51] Speaker 4: so we're going to change his color over here to
[29:55] Speaker 4: the Washington Commanders color. If you're just listening, We've got
[29:58] Speaker 4: a list of guys in the free agent list that
[30:02] Speaker 4: they don't have a team, and we still have Tyreek
[30:05] Speaker 4: Keyan Allen and John Smith was on there, but no
[30:08] Speaker 4: one's even talking about John new Smith.
[30:09] Speaker 2: I for that he was even Yeah.
[30:11] Speaker 4: Yeah, so we're changing stuff on Digs back to the
[30:14] Speaker 4: Washington Commanders colors.
[30:15] Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm very into Diggs.
[30:17] Speaker 1: I think that he's a really good value across platforms,
[30:20] Speaker 1: even in best ball, you know, speaking of a guy
[30:23] Speaker 1: that I would take over Courtland Sutton, I would take
[30:25] Speaker 1: Steph On Diggs over Courtland Sutton.
[30:27] Speaker 2: I think it's a great fit in Washington.
[30:30] Speaker 1: He's a player to target in the draft guy or
[30:32] Speaker 1: dart throw just because I didn't know where his ADP
[30:34] Speaker 1: would land.
[30:36] Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean like you can move him inside out.
[30:38] Speaker 1: Unbelievably good per rout run efficiency last year coming off
[30:41] Speaker 1: of the ACL too. I just don't think that he's
[30:44] Speaker 1: necessarily like completely lost a step at least in terms
[30:47] Speaker 1: of maybe he's not as good down the field. But
[30:49] Speaker 1: Terry McLaurin can play down the field and he's good
[30:51] Speaker 1: at that role. So I think that the pairing makes
[30:53] Speaker 1: a ton of sense. They should have probably just done
[30:55] Speaker 1: this from the start instead of like seemingly, you know,
[30:59] Speaker 1: like sort of was talking about the Ayuk stuff. But
[31:02] Speaker 1: I think Diggs is just a great, great fit and
[31:04] Speaker 1: mesh with with Terry McLaurin.
[31:06] Speaker 4: Yeah, ri ip those Ayuk shares of whatever you have
[31:10] Speaker 4: and whatever you have Dynasty, Best Ball, Redraft whatever. Isaiah
[31:15] Speaker 4: likely likely they're wide receiver two there in New York.
[31:18] Speaker 4: Quick thoughts about that.
[31:20] Speaker 1: I'm not surprised, you know, they don't have a good
[31:22] Speaker 1: wide receiver two outside. You know, it's just neighbors and
[31:24] Speaker 1: then a bunch of dudes who you know. I wasn't
[31:27] Speaker 1: a big Malachi Fields fan coming out as a prospect.
[31:30] Speaker 2: I think he might end up starting because he is
[31:32] Speaker 2: a good blocker.
[31:33] Speaker 1: Darnold Mooney's fine, Darius Slayton's fine, but they're not, you know,
[31:37] Speaker 1: game breakers.
[31:37] Speaker 2: Isaiah likely.
[31:39] Speaker 1: You know he was a dark or he was a
[31:40] Speaker 1: target in the in the guide as well, because he
[31:43] Speaker 1: does check some of the trends that I look for
[31:45] Speaker 1: from an ADP expectation standpoint, one of them being you
[31:49] Speaker 1: want to get these tight ends that play a lot
[31:50] Speaker 1: in the slot, and I think that they're going to
[31:53] Speaker 1: move him out there a lot. They have THEO Johnson
[31:55] Speaker 1: there too, so they can run a lot of twelve
[31:57] Speaker 1: and so I think likely can e you know, out
[32:01] Speaker 1: outpaces ADP this year.
[32:04] Speaker 4: Okay, we have two minute Tracy reports to Tyrone, Tracy
[32:09] Speaker 4: taking all the two minute drill snaps there. Does that
[32:13] Speaker 4: change your opinion at all on their value compared to Skataboo.
[32:18] Speaker 2: I mean maybe a little bit. Yeah, it's a team
[32:20] Speaker 2: that's probably not gonna be that good.
[32:21] Speaker 1: But Skataboo, like on paper Slash you watch him too,
[32:26] Speaker 1: has actually been a better pass catcher than Tyrone Tracy has.
[32:30] Speaker 1: Even though Tracy came out as a hybrid, you know,
[32:34] Speaker 1: he was a wide receiver in college. Uh, Skataboo had
[32:36] Speaker 1: a great receiving resume in college. He was really good
[32:40] Speaker 1: last year, you know, as a receiver, and he got
[32:42] Speaker 1: a lot of work as a receiver. So I still
[32:44] Speaker 1: think they're going to use him in that way and
[32:46] Speaker 1: for him to be sort of that that bellcal for
[32:48] Speaker 1: them as.
[32:49] Speaker 2: Long as he's healthy, of course.
[32:50] Speaker 1: So yeah, I mean it hurts Skataboo a little bit
[32:52] Speaker 1: if this does come to fruition.
[32:53] Speaker 2: But we'll see what happens.
[32:55] Speaker 4: Okay. Uh, this is the bear segment I was talking about.
[32:59] Speaker 4: I don't know if you saw it. Van Johnson said
[33:02] Speaker 4: he wants to break the record for most points scored
[33:05] Speaker 4: in a season.
[33:06] Speaker 2: Yeah that's amazing.
[33:07] Speaker 1: Ben Johnson our is our king, our fantasy football king
[33:10] Speaker 1: at this point.
[33:12] Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm this is the thing that I want to.
[33:14] Speaker 1: Say about about like Colston Lovelin, Luther Burd and Romadoonze
[33:20] Speaker 1: is that I genuinely think that we could see all
[33:24] Speaker 1: of them at least like match where they're being drafted
[33:27] Speaker 1: in terms of ADP expectation, because this offense could just
[33:30] Speaker 1: straight up funnel through those guys in the passing game,
[33:33] Speaker 1: Like I'm not going to be shocked if the three
[33:35] Speaker 1: of them have a seventy percent target share this year
[33:39] Speaker 1: or something like that, seventy five even like something crazy,
[33:42] Speaker 1: because it's just very clear there's not that much depth
[33:45] Speaker 1: behind them at wide receiver. You know, obviously they're going
[33:47] Speaker 1: to throw to the running backs as well. And then
[33:49] Speaker 1: Colston Lovelin's is such a monster at tight end that
[33:52] Speaker 1: even when they're in twelve and thirteen, which I think
[33:54] Speaker 1: they will be because they drafted Sam Roush, but I
[33:58] Speaker 1: still think that all three of them can be okay.
[34:00] Speaker 1: And so if you're drafting in a lot of leagues,
[34:03] Speaker 1: which I know not all of you are, but if
[34:04] Speaker 1: you are, I would still get I'm overexposed to all
[34:07] Speaker 1: of them in best ball, you know, like I I
[34:09] Speaker 1: just I don't think that me liking Luther Burden does
[34:12] Speaker 1: not mean I don't like Colston Lovelin. This is exactly
[34:14] Speaker 1: what I hate about fantasy analysis and the way people
[34:17] Speaker 1: consume it is that if you like someone, it doesn't
[34:20] Speaker 1: mean that you don't. If I like pancakes, it doesn't
[34:22] Speaker 1: mean I don't like waffles. You know, I still love
[34:25] Speaker 1: waffles as long as they're gluten as long as they're
[34:27] Speaker 1: gluten free.
[34:29] Speaker 2: So yeah, I mean I'm in. I'm in.
[34:30] Speaker 1: Like I I think that this Bears offense could be
[34:33] Speaker 1: really really special if if things really come together.
[34:35] Speaker 4: And our Late Round Charity best Ball league that I
[34:38] Speaker 4: was in, I just took all of them, took Kayleb Williams,
[34:44] Speaker 4: I took Loveland Burden and a done day. It's like, listen,
[34:47] Speaker 4: you guys aren't gonna you guys aren't gonna get one
[34:50] Speaker 4: over on me. You either draft them or or let
[34:53] Speaker 4: me have them. All right, there's some big Boston hype.
[34:55] Speaker 4: We're not talking about the Patriots. We're talking about Denzel Boston.
[34:58] Speaker 4: I was in a draft on this dream yesterday on
[35:01] Speaker 4: the Late Round channel, where Boston went one oh three
[35:06] Speaker 4: overall and one one o three yes, yes, like a
[35:12] Speaker 4: rookie draft or like a no. This was the draft Kings.
[35:15] Speaker 4: This is what happened. And then Concepcion went like one
[35:22] Speaker 4: fifteen oh one.
[35:23] Speaker 2: Okay, you're talking about one hundred. I thought you were
[35:24] Speaker 2: talking about the one dot O three. No, no, you
[35:28] Speaker 2: could say one hundred there.
[35:30] Speaker 4: You know, sorry, one hundred and one hundred and one
[35:33] Speaker 4: hundred and third.
[35:34] Speaker 2: I thought it was someone someone who was just throwing.
[35:37] Speaker 4: That one called me a boomer the other day is
[35:39] Speaker 4: like Kitchen, such a boomer because he still says dot
[35:41] Speaker 4: because I say, like the one dot oh one or
[35:43] Speaker 4: the one.
[35:44] Speaker 1: I think in that case, you gotta, you know, you gotta,
[35:46] Speaker 1: because that's how we say.
[35:46] Speaker 2: We were like, oh I got the one O three,
[35:48] Speaker 2: you know, yeah, okay, see look at Brendan.
[35:50] Speaker 1: Brennan's agreeing with me and Chad, so I'm up one
[35:52] Speaker 1: oh here, Okay, that's on Boston.
[35:57] Speaker 4: Uh.
[35:58] Speaker 1: I thought he was an okay prospect. I wasn't super high.
[36:01] Speaker 1: I thought he was like a Courtland Sutton type player.
[36:04] Speaker 1: It didn't mean I honestly did not even mean to
[36:06] Speaker 1: bring up Sutton's name again.
[36:09] Speaker 2: Sutton has been a good player throughout his career.
[36:12] Speaker 1: Has nothing to do with like what's happened in the
[36:13] Speaker 1: past but uh, I you know, I think that there
[36:16] Speaker 1: he is of that archetype of like Tedoro McMillan as
[36:19] Speaker 1: like a potential or Drake London as like a really
[36:22] Speaker 1: really potential. I don't think he's there given some of
[36:26] Speaker 1: the stuff. We'll actually gonna talk about it in today's data.
[36:29] Speaker 1: But with that being said, I you know, I think
[36:31] Speaker 1: that if you want to throw that dart at Boston,
[36:34] Speaker 1: be my guest. I'm still in on Casey Concepcion as
[36:38] Speaker 1: the better get in that wide receiver room because there's
[36:42] Speaker 1: a lot of data to support that from HISZA model perspective,
[36:45] Speaker 1: and I thought he was just a better prospect.
[36:47] Speaker 2: But I don't think Boston was like a bad prospect.
[36:49] Speaker 1: You know, there were some really like there are guys
[36:51] Speaker 1: that are getting steemed right now that I'm shocked or
[36:53] Speaker 1: getting steamed like were bad analytical prospects.
[36:56] Speaker 2: There were some stuff that were okay enough with Denzel
[36:58] Speaker 2: Boston still okay.
[37:00] Speaker 4: Uh. Speaking of Brenda, he said earlier, have you guys
[37:02] Speaker 4: dragged Sutton yet? Did I miss it?
[37:04] Speaker 2: Drag It's just I got to do it on every show.
[37:06] Speaker 1: And then once Sutton finishes the top fifteen wide receiver,
[37:09] Speaker 1: I will I will certainly hear it at the end
[37:10] Speaker 1: of the season.
[37:11] Speaker 4: Yeah, all right, Again, we don't have a ton of time.
[37:14] Speaker 4: But Cardinal Tait and Jordan Tyson, their stock's going up.
[37:18] Speaker 4: Kayle lemon stock is going down.
[37:20] Speaker 2: Yeah, he Like.
[37:22] Speaker 4: We're talking about that draft yesterday he fell to like
[37:25] Speaker 4: one twenty, which is like three full rounds past where
[37:29] Speaker 4: his ADP was last week.
[37:31] Speaker 1: I'm scared of McKayle Lemon from the standpoint of you know,
[37:34] Speaker 1: in a managed league, you lose confidence in players, and
[37:36] Speaker 1: then he's gonna be one of those guys where we're
[37:38] Speaker 1: just like, oh, he's not playing enough to start the year.
[37:41] Speaker 2: I got to do something.
[37:41] Speaker 1: Maybe I drop him in a shallower league, and then
[37:44] Speaker 1: you're in this position where like he blows up the
[37:46] Speaker 1: second half of the league or six second half of
[37:47] Speaker 1: the year, which is very possible. So I am a
[37:50] Speaker 1: little bit nervous about that. But Carnal Tat and Jordan Tyson,
[37:53] Speaker 1: they're very good prospects, like just period.
[37:56] Speaker 2: Like look at what the ZAP model was saying.
[37:58] Speaker 1: I mean Jordan Tyson especially, I'm not like shocked that
[38:01] Speaker 1: he's getting steam because the numbers were just so I mean,
[38:04] Speaker 1: he had like a ninety nine percentile breakout score. The
[38:06] Speaker 1: dude was phenomenal on paper, and that's the kind of
[38:10] Speaker 1: stuff that typically does work out.
[38:11] Speaker 2: You just got to stay healthy, you know, Tyson has
[38:13] Speaker 2: to stay healthy.
[38:14] Speaker 1: But I think both of them are pretty good picks
[38:16] Speaker 1: this year, especially Tyson at his ADP because on most
[38:19] Speaker 1: platforms he goes a lot after where Cardnel Tate's.
[38:22] Speaker 4: Going okay, And then real quick, if we're taking questions,
[38:27] Speaker 4: any quick thoughts in Jakobe Lane, I probably should have
[38:29] Speaker 4: had him with this time.
[38:30] Speaker 2: Let's talk about it. Let's go to today's data.
[38:32] Speaker 4: Let's do it all right without further ado. Let's get
[38:36] Speaker 4: to today's data.
[38:39] Speaker 2: Today's data.
[38:41] Speaker 1: A lot of wide receivers are getting steam right now,
[38:43] Speaker 1: these rookie wide receivers. And the interesting part about this
[38:46] Speaker 1: year's draft class, and I talked about this in the guide.
[38:49] Speaker 1: I talked about it on the show a lot. We
[38:51] Speaker 1: had a lot of Day two picks. We had a
[38:53] Speaker 1: lot of top three round picks at wide receiver, but
[38:58] Speaker 1: so many of them objectively have had pretty like mid profiles. Now,
[39:02] Speaker 1: I had said on these shows, do you remember this
[39:05] Speaker 1: kitchen where I was like it was it was a
[39:08] Speaker 1: probability driven stance, where if you have so many of
[39:13] Speaker 1: these players out there, some of them are going to
[39:14] Speaker 1: naturally hit like that we don't expect to hit right.
[39:18] Speaker 1: But this was by far the hardest year for me
[39:20] Speaker 1: to figure out what to do a wide receiver. After
[39:23] Speaker 1: the first handful were gone to me, there was a
[39:25] Speaker 1: big four in this class where you know, Tyson and
[39:28] Speaker 1: Tate were clearly the top two for me, Makai Lemon
[39:31] Speaker 1: in Concepcion, we're sort of in the next tier, and
[39:34] Speaker 1: then it was sort of like a choose your own
[39:36] Speaker 1: adventure with what you wanted to do. After that, we're like,
[39:38] Speaker 1: you know, I could make an argument for Cooper and
[39:40] Speaker 1: Denzel Boston next, which is what I think I did
[39:42] Speaker 1: in my rankings and tiers and such.
[39:44] Speaker 2: But then it gets into like dribbling and yeah, and.
[39:46] Speaker 1: Like stribbling and like like Jeremy Bernard, and so what
[39:49] Speaker 1: I wanted to do here was show you guys, here
[39:52] Speaker 1: are all the wide receivers since twenty nineteen, and who
[39:56] Speaker 1: scored twelve or more PPR points per game as rookies, okay,
[39:59] Speaker 1: And I wanted to do is show you their career
[40:01] Speaker 1: yards per out run, which is relatively predictive in college.
[40:05] Speaker 1: And then their breakout score, which is a number from
[40:07] Speaker 1: zero to one hundred that looks at adjusted receiving yards
[40:10] Speaker 1: per team pass attempt. So that adjusted is for program
[40:13] Speaker 1: strength and age. Okay, so anything like this isn't percentile,
[40:17] Speaker 1: but anything in like the.
[40:19] Speaker 2: Thirty to forty range, like forty.
[40:20] Speaker 1: I think is like a fiftieth percentile type number for
[40:22] Speaker 1: breakout score. But you can see the average breakout score
[40:26] Speaker 1: among these players, and you can see all the players
[40:28] Speaker 1: listed here and you can see their breakout scores. You
[40:30] Speaker 1: can see their career yards per out run was sixty
[40:32] Speaker 1: point five, right, And then you can look at and
[40:36] Speaker 1: mind you, some of these guys were early declared, some
[40:38] Speaker 1: of them weren't. The biggest miss from a breakout score
[40:41] Speaker 1: perspective is definitely Terry McLaurin. You know, Lad mcconkey's was
[40:44] Speaker 1: really low, but you can see in their career yards
[40:47] Speaker 1: per out run, a player like mcconkeye, a player like
[40:51] Speaker 1: Tank Dell, you know, they were really high in the
[40:55] Speaker 1: yards per out run department. And that was one of
[40:57] Speaker 1: the reasons why you wouldn't necessarily just fade them completely.
[41:01] Speaker 1: It's when you get a combination of the two that
[41:03] Speaker 1: are low, and you're like, okay, this is like Terry
[41:05] Speaker 1: McLaurin is an outlier, right one point five to seven
[41:09] Speaker 1: career yards per out run rate and a zero breakout
[41:12] Speaker 1: score because he just didn't get there from an age
[41:15] Speaker 1: adjusted production perspective. Now you scroll down and you look
[41:19] Speaker 1: at this year's class, and these are the guys that
[41:21] Speaker 1: are getting steamed the most. I list Denzel Boston, Jacoby Lane,
[41:25] Speaker 1: Design Stribling, Cyrus Allen, and Caleb Douglas, and you can
[41:28] Speaker 1: see all of these guys are below a forty. This
[41:31] Speaker 1: is where I was saying that Denzel Boston really wasn't
[41:33] Speaker 1: that bad because he had a you know, a forty
[41:35] Speaker 1: four breakout score. That's not that terrible, but it's certainly
[41:38] Speaker 1: well below this average that we've seen from these guys
[41:40] Speaker 1: who have hit twelve more PPR points per game as rookies.
[41:43] Speaker 1: Jacoby Lane was at thirty six, design Stribling below thirty,
[41:47] Speaker 1: you know, Caleb Douglas well below thirty, and then their
[41:49] Speaker 1: yards per out run rates only Cyrus Allen and Denzel
[41:53] Speaker 1: Boston had career yards per out run rates above two. Now,
[41:57] Speaker 1: Jacoby Lane is that sort of a disadvantage there because
[41:59] Speaker 1: he clared early. So you would imagine if Jacobe Lane
[42:03] Speaker 1: went back to college, we'd probably see a higher yards
[42:05] Speaker 1: per out run rate than some of these other guys.
[42:07] Speaker 2: But it's just they're they're objectively not great analytical profiles.
[42:12] Speaker 1: And the reason I'm bringing this up is because we
[42:15] Speaker 1: are more than likely going to see most of these guys'
[42:19] Speaker 1: busts from a from a like just not be the
[42:23] Speaker 1: most you know, wide receiver three two type players in
[42:28] Speaker 1: fantasy football. I think that we're gonna see probably one
[42:31] Speaker 1: of these guys hit because again, we have so many
[42:34] Speaker 1: of them in this class, and if if some of
[42:36] Speaker 1: them are getting hype, we're going to see an objectively
[42:39] Speaker 1: bad analytical profile probably hit. And I'm going to talk
[42:42] Speaker 1: about some of these guys in a second, but I
[42:44] Speaker 1: do think it's interesting to at least like look at
[42:46] Speaker 1: this objectively and remember that we do get steam from
[42:50] Speaker 1: random players a lot in uh in the fantasy football world,
[42:54] Speaker 1: and it just gets more and more every year because
[42:56] Speaker 1: there's more and more people that are wanting that information,
[42:59] Speaker 1: you know, more beat writers that are trying to give
[43:01] Speaker 1: us that information. And it's not like the beat reporters
[43:04] Speaker 1: are doing anything malicious or wrong. They're just saying what
[43:07] Speaker 1: they believe. And then you know, going from there, and remember,
[43:10] Speaker 1: we're solving something different than what teams are solving. Like
[43:14] Speaker 1: I think a really good example of that is Jacoby Lane,
[43:18] Speaker 1: where he might be a very good situational type player
[43:21] Speaker 1: for them in year one, and he might be very acrobatic,
[43:25] Speaker 1: and there might be some really good parts to his game,
[43:27] Speaker 1: which I think there were when I watched him during
[43:30] Speaker 1: prospect season. The problem is there wasn't that much like
[43:33] Speaker 1: consistent separation from Lane that I saw. And also the
[43:36] Speaker 1: analytical profile was kind of mid. Like, it wasn't terrible,
[43:40] Speaker 1: especially because it was an early declare, but it certainly
[43:42] Speaker 1: wasn't great. So if you look at it from like
[43:44] Speaker 1: what the Ravens need, he might be phenomenal, right, But
[43:48] Speaker 1: if you look at it from like a fantasy perspective,
[43:50] Speaker 1: you're in a probably run first offense or run heavy
[43:53] Speaker 1: offense where he might not be the top three target
[43:56] Speaker 1: getter on that team this year. And then all of
[43:58] Speaker 1: a sudden, you're like, oh, yeah, he's not going to
[44:00] Speaker 1: hit that twelve FPR points per game mark, you know,
[44:03] Speaker 1: so like you got to think of it through that
[44:04] Speaker 1: lens as well.
[44:05] Speaker 2: So I just wanted to try to stay objective through this.
[44:08] Speaker 1: We are going to see some of these guys, or
[44:09] Speaker 1: at least one of these guys probably hit, but I
[44:12] Speaker 1: don't want to get two out of hand because generally speaking,
[44:15] Speaker 1: players who d have better profiles than what we've seen
[44:17] Speaker 1: from some of these players.
[44:19] Speaker 4: Yeah, I remember around this time last year, a guy
[44:21] Speaker 4: we were talking about a lot was Trey Harris. You know,
[44:23] Speaker 4: he had a ton of steam. And so you have
[44:27] Speaker 4: to be weary of some of the Camp highlights videos,
[44:30] Speaker 4: although I have.
[44:31] Speaker 1: I'm one I would love for somebody to like, like
[44:36] Speaker 1: like aggregate all the stuff that's happened in the past
[44:38] Speaker 1: from a from a hype perspective and just look at
[44:40] Speaker 1: how few those.
[44:41] Speaker 2: Players like actually.
[44:42] Speaker 1: Hit, you know, Yeah, And I guarantee you, I guarantee
[44:45] Speaker 1: you it would be pretty shocking.
[44:47] Speaker 4: I said, Justin Watson is or Cyrus Allen Justin Watson
[44:50] Speaker 4: two point zero. I mean, there's it seems like out
[44:52] Speaker 4: of Chiefs Camp doesn't matter what you know, what year
[44:55] Speaker 4: it is, out of Chiefs Camp, there is someone that
[44:58] Speaker 4: we are getting irrationally excited about. Shout out Sky Moore.
[45:03] Speaker 4: Let's get onto some deep sleepers the late round main event.
[45:09] Speaker 1: So I want to preface this by saying everything relates
[45:14] Speaker 1: back to costs, right. So I just went over all
[45:16] Speaker 1: these players that have kind of like questionable analytical profiles,
[45:21] Speaker 1: and from a process standpoint, you don't want to like
[45:23] Speaker 1: go overboard with them. But going overboard is more from
[45:27] Speaker 1: my perspective of like a dynasty perspective, because there's a
[45:30] Speaker 1: bigger cost in acquiring because it's a future type selection,
[45:33] Speaker 1: whereas in a season long league, Design Stribbling, the first
[45:36] Speaker 1: guy in this list is a double digit round pick
[45:40] Speaker 1: in one of the best offenses in football that has
[45:42] Speaker 1: been consistently one of the best offenses in football. So
[45:46] Speaker 1: go after that, you know. So we're going to talk
[45:48] Speaker 1: deep sleepers. Here the qualifications in order for these players
[45:51] Speaker 1: to find themselves on this list. I looked at Fantasy
[45:54] Speaker 1: pros ADP. I looked at past two hundredth overall, and
[45:57] Speaker 1: as I say, not in your league, I know that
[45:59] Speaker 1: these guys, like obviously design Stribling is rising up draft boards,
[46:03] Speaker 1: probably not a two hundredth overall pick, but I used
[46:05] Speaker 1: it as the threshold just to have some sort of
[46:08] Speaker 1: way of finding these players. So let's just kick things
[46:11] Speaker 1: off of design. Stribling, I definitely, like I said, thought
[46:15] Speaker 1: that there were question marks for him as a prospect.
[46:18] Speaker 1: It's very rare to see a high risk player, which
[46:21] Speaker 1: is what he was in the ZAPP model, a player
[46:22] Speaker 1: who the model did not like as much as the
[46:26] Speaker 1: draft capital to a degree that it flagged him as
[46:28] Speaker 1: a high risk player. If you look historically at top
[46:31] Speaker 1: one hundred picks who were high risk players, only tank
[46:35] Speaker 1: Dell was. There was twenty of them that ended up
[46:40] Speaker 1: only tank Dell was able to score twelve or more
[46:44] Speaker 1: PPR points per game as a rookie. Among the twenty,
[46:47] Speaker 1: I think there's twenty high risk top two or like
[46:51] Speaker 1: day two wide receivers. So Stribling finds himself in that bucket.
[46:55] Speaker 1: Not a great bucket to find yourself in thirty first
[46:58] Speaker 1: percentile breakout score yards per out run in his career
[47:02] Speaker 1: in the twentieth percentile.
[47:03] Speaker 2: But again, I do think that Shribbling.
[47:05] Speaker 1: The more I've thought about Stribbling, the more I've thought
[47:07] Speaker 1: about the situation, I do think that he has a
[47:10] Speaker 1: good YAK profile, and we've seen good YAK profiles like
[47:13] Speaker 1: this be pretty good in a Kyle Shanahan offense, and
[47:16] Speaker 1: there's obviously opportunity there. Right, Like I was thinking about this,
[47:20] Speaker 1: I would not have ranked Design Shribbling where I ranked him,
[47:22] Speaker 1: not only because I've done a little bit more thinking
[47:25] Speaker 1: about the fit in the scheme and I you know,
[47:28] Speaker 1: like like just doing all that, but also if we
[47:31] Speaker 1: knew Ricky Piersoll was going to be out this year, right, Like,
[47:34] Speaker 1: he'd be like a first round rookie pick if we
[47:37] Speaker 1: knew that was happening for sure, Right, So I think
[47:41] Speaker 1: that that, you know, he's a good blocker seemingly and
[47:44] Speaker 1: so all of that. I think he's actually a pretty
[47:46] Speaker 1: good dart throw and manage leagues right now.
[47:49] Speaker 4: Yeah, And I know that we don't you know, we
[47:53] Speaker 4: don't love like keeper questions because everyone's keeper leagues are
[47:56] Speaker 4: are different. But I would say that this list right here,
[47:59] Speaker 4: if you're in a keeper, you need to pay attention
[48:01] Speaker 4: because a lot of these guys you could keep for
[48:03] Speaker 4: next year. Yeah, yes, if they go off, And that's
[48:06] Speaker 4: the whole point of keeper leaks, all right. Next on
[48:08] Speaker 4: the list we have marsh On Lloyd.
[48:10] Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, look, I again, he's a player that
[48:12] Speaker 1: the zap model wasn't like in love with And by
[48:16] Speaker 1: the way, I just got word that the Amecca Buca
[48:19] Speaker 1: injury is not serious, so we're.
[48:21] Speaker 4: Yeah, I knew it was. I wasn't going to speak
[48:23] Speaker 4: it on the show soft tissue injury, so I didn't
[48:27] Speaker 4: want to. I didn't want to say anything. So I'm
[48:29] Speaker 4: glad there was like a for anyone listening.
[48:32] Speaker 1: There was like a two hour period where Abuka was
[48:34] Speaker 1: hurt and it sounds like it's not serious anyway. The
[48:36] Speaker 1: Zap Model didn't love marsh On Lloyd, but definitely viewed
[48:38] Speaker 1: him as like a complimentary piece. He had a really
[48:40] Speaker 1: good athletic profile, one hundred and eleven speed score, which
[48:43] Speaker 1: is really strong. We already talked about Josh Jacobs. That
[48:46] Speaker 1: workload's getting higher. He's already banged up. He's had the
[48:48] Speaker 1: off the field issues. I do think that offensive line
[48:51] Speaker 1: could be a problem. But I've said this stat so
[48:53] Speaker 1: many times in the show. Matt Lafleur offenses since he
[48:56] Speaker 1: got to Green Bay have never ranked outside the top
[48:58] Speaker 1: half of the league in touchdowns per game. It's just
[49:00] Speaker 1: a good scheme. He's a good coach. They should score points.
[49:04] Speaker 1: And Marshall Lloyd's actually healthy right now. So I think
[49:06] Speaker 1: that he's a good dart throw in the final rounds
[49:08] Speaker 1: of her draft, and.
[49:09] Speaker 4: We talked about earlier on this show with a news item,
[49:11] Speaker 4: is that he actually went to rehab school like he's.
[49:15] Speaker 1: It's like a Christian Watson situation last year where Watson
[49:17] Speaker 1: was like going to I think he went to like
[49:18] Speaker 1: Germany or something.
[49:19] Speaker 2: I feel like all these athletes just go to Germany
[49:21] Speaker 2: whenever they whenever they really best.
[49:23] Speaker 4: Kobe Bryant but.
[49:24] Speaker 2: Got something in the water. Christian McCaffrey did it too, right.
[49:27] Speaker 4: Yeah, Okay, Keenan Allen next on this list.
[49:31] Speaker 1: I know he's not currently on a team unless you
[49:33] Speaker 1: count my unless you count my Best Ball teams, because
[49:36] Speaker 1: he's on a lot of those. I feel like I
[49:38] Speaker 1: draft him in the eighteenth round every single Best Ball
[49:40] Speaker 1: draft at this point?
[49:41] Speaker 2: Is this wish casting JJ a little bit? Yeah, I guys,
[49:45] Speaker 2: I need desperately need.
[49:46] Speaker 1: Keith Allen to sign anywhere, just just to be active
[49:49] Speaker 1: playing football this year. But look, I don't think he
[49:52] Speaker 1: was like I think that people look at him as washed,
[49:54] Speaker 1: but he led the Chargers last year the wide receivers
[49:58] Speaker 1: and target share yards per route run and targets per
[50:01] Speaker 1: route run twenty six percent targets per oute run rate.
[50:05] Speaker 1: So the moment he signed somewhere, his ADP is gonna rise.
[50:07] Speaker 1: If he signs in Indianapolis, you're getting a massive, massive
[50:11] Speaker 1: gain and value immediately because of the way that Alec
[50:14] Speaker 1: Pierce is trending and the way that that offense needs
[50:17] Speaker 1: a wide receiver. So I think you should be drafting
[50:20] Speaker 1: Keenan Allen in your leagues right now because he's hopefully
[50:23] Speaker 1: going to sign somewhere and he wasn't as bad as
[50:25] Speaker 1: you probably think last year.
[50:27] Speaker 4: Hoping the Chris Ballard and the Colts' front office is
[50:32] Speaker 4: listening to this show right now, all right. Next on
[50:34] Speaker 4: the list the guy that we just talked about, Trey Harris.
[50:37] Speaker 1: People would be shocked, but Trey Harris is my highest
[50:40] Speaker 1: exposed wide receiver in Best Ball right now.
[50:43] Speaker 2: Really yeah. And it's not because I think that he's
[50:47] Speaker 2: an undeniable talent.
[50:48] Speaker 1: He was an older breakout, but crazy per route run
[50:52] Speaker 1: metrics during his final season or like towards the end
[50:56] Speaker 1: of his collegiate career last year wasn't super inspiring, though
[50:59] Speaker 1: he ran fewer than three hundred routes one point one
[51:01] Speaker 1: yards per out run rate fifteen percent targets per out
[51:04] Speaker 1: run rate. But there's no more Keenan Allen and Quentin Johnston.
[51:08] Speaker 1: There's just a massive gap between QJ to Trey Harris.
[51:12] Speaker 1: Especially in best Ball it's not as bad and managed
[51:14] Speaker 1: season long platforms, but he's commanded over a seventeen percent
[51:17] Speaker 1: targets per out run rate just once in his career
[51:20] Speaker 1: QJ has. So this is really just a question of
[51:23] Speaker 1: what if Trey Harris just progresses a little bit as
[51:25] Speaker 1: a year two player and QJ they don't like the fit.
[51:28] Speaker 1: Like I think QJ can be a decent fit with
[51:30] Speaker 1: his yactability in the offense. But Trey Harris has some
[51:33] Speaker 1: ball skills. I mean, we saw that that highlight real
[51:35] Speaker 1: catch that he had yesterday where defender was all over
[51:40] Speaker 1: him and he just he just mossed them kind of
[51:42] Speaker 1: and like like grabbed the ball from behind his the
[51:45] Speaker 1: defender's back. So it's really just a question of, like
[51:48] Speaker 1: this is a good offense. You're pairing him in a
[51:50] Speaker 1: good offense. I don't think you really in most season
[51:52] Speaker 1: long leagues need to target him per se, but if
[51:54] Speaker 1: you want to throw him at the end of your
[51:55] Speaker 1: bench to see what happens in week one.
[51:56] Speaker 2: I think that's fine.
[51:58] Speaker 4: Ford of the show, Matt Waldman was talking about how
[52:00] Speaker 4: that was one of his specialties in college, is track
[52:03] Speaker 4: and ball in the air. And if you look at
[52:05] Speaker 4: the highlights again, you get easily excited about Trey Harrison,
[52:08] Speaker 4: not so much about Quentin Johnson, because anything that you're
[52:11] Speaker 4: seeing on social media right now with QJ is him
[52:15] Speaker 4: him dropping a fast and everyone groaning. But yeah, I'm
[52:21] Speaker 4: with you there as far as Trey Harris, and I'm
[52:22] Speaker 4: also with you, you know, I'm here for the Nick
[52:25] Speaker 4: Singleton hype.
[52:26] Speaker 1: So he's technically just inside the top two hundred, but
[52:28] Speaker 1: I wanted to give you guys another running back that
[52:30] Speaker 1: I think is interesting at the end of your draft.
[52:33] Speaker 1: So Tony Pollard has posted below a point eight yards
[52:37] Speaker 1: per out run rate in three straight seasons and he's
[52:39] Speaker 1: twenty nine years old. And you saw last year there
[52:42] Speaker 1: were some pretty bad usage splits when Taj Spears was healthy.
[52:46] Speaker 1: And speaking of Spears, he's just been mostly used as
[52:51] Speaker 1: a pass catcher in this Titans offense. Now, obviously there's
[52:53] Speaker 1: a new coaching staff, will see what happens. But Nick
[52:56] Speaker 1: Singleton probably would have been drafted higher had he not
[53:00] Speaker 1: had that foot injury at the Senior Bowl this year.
[53:02] Speaker 1: He has good size, he has good speed, and that
[53:06] Speaker 1: size speed combination, it could end up being I said
[53:08] Speaker 1: this during draft season, it could end up being a
[53:10] Speaker 1: CJ prosize situation for sure.
[53:12] Speaker 2: Like we see this kind of archetype of running back
[53:15] Speaker 2: come out and you know, like.
[53:16] Speaker 1: DJ Giddons even to a degree where it's like really
[53:20] Speaker 1: phenomenal receiving numbers and really athletic, but they just don't
[53:24] Speaker 1: have it, Like they don't have that vision and that
[53:27] Speaker 1: ability to you know, be a reliable running back. But
[53:31] Speaker 1: I will still throw that dart given where they're being drafted.
[53:35] Speaker 1: For an eightieth percentile, eightieth percentile plus reception, best season
[53:40] Speaker 1: reception share, and adjusted yards for team pass attempt for
[53:43] Speaker 1: a player with this size and speed, it's very very intriguing.
[53:47] Speaker 1: And oh, by the way, their offensive coordinator Brian Dable
[53:50] Speaker 1: has not been afraid of using Day three running backs
[53:54] Speaker 1: as rookies Tyrone Tracy cam Skataboo in recent seasons, So
[53:58] Speaker 1: I would not be shocked if he just lets the
[54:00] Speaker 1: best talent went out and maybe as the season goes
[54:02] Speaker 1: on we see a little bit more.
[54:03] Speaker 2: Nick Singleton, Okay, Next on.
[54:06] Speaker 4: The list Cyrus Allen. Someone if you are a Prospect
[54:10] Speaker 4: Guy purchaser, you did not see in the Prospect Guy.
[54:14] Speaker 4: Why is that?
[54:14] Speaker 2: Yeah?
[54:15] Speaker 1: He was on the Prospect Guy this year because he
[54:18] Speaker 1: did not get invited to the Combine, so he was
[54:21] Speaker 1: I did rank him as a top forty eight player
[54:23] Speaker 1: in the rankings Cyrus Allen, so he is there, but
[54:27] Speaker 1: there was no profile on him because he was not
[54:29] Speaker 1: invited to the Combine. But he had a forty second
[54:32] Speaker 1: percentile breakout score that could be way worse for a
[54:35] Speaker 1: Day three pick.
[54:35] Speaker 2: His career. The yards brought run showed that earlier two
[54:38] Speaker 2: point zero seven he ran thirty seven percent of his
[54:41] Speaker 2: routes from the slot, which obviously is a Rashi Rice
[54:43] Speaker 2: you know spot in that offense. But he was really
[54:46] Speaker 2: efficient from the slot and he could get downfield's.
[54:49] Speaker 1: That's the piece with Cyrus Allen that if this works out,
[54:51] Speaker 1: it could really unlock a lot for the Chiefs offense.
[54:54] Speaker 1: He had a seventy ninth percentile a dot in college,
[54:57] Speaker 1: he had an eighty fifth percentile despite being smaller. He's
[55:00] Speaker 1: like one hundred and eighty pounds, but he had an
[55:02] Speaker 1: eighty fifth percentile contested catch rate in college.
[55:06] Speaker 2: I just think the Chiefs really need a player like this.
[55:08] Speaker 1: Patrick Mahomes has struggled throwing the ball deep over the
[55:11] Speaker 1: last couple of years, and I do think that Cyrus
[55:13] Speaker 1: Allen can fill some sort of role that you know,
[55:15] Speaker 1: it's like a better Taekwan Thornton in this offense.
[55:18] Speaker 2: And maybe there's even more to his game if he's
[55:20] Speaker 2: able to develop. Yeah.
[55:23] Speaker 4: I thought what you said in your Becoming a Best
[55:26] Speaker 4: Ball pro episode where he is better in a redraft
[55:29] Speaker 4: league than a Best Ball league because if it doesn't
[55:32] Speaker 4: work out, you just cut.
[55:33] Speaker 2: Him right right. Yeah, I mean I'm still drafting him
[55:35] Speaker 2: in Best Ball but yeah, yeah, yeah, Okay.
[55:39] Speaker 4: Next on the list, cover boy Greg Dolsic.
[55:42] Speaker 1: It's a wide open pass catching room. You're always looking
[55:44] Speaker 1: for that for your tight end breakouts. He only ran
[55:47] Speaker 1: one hundred and forty five routes last year, but he
[55:48] Speaker 1: had a two point three to one yards per out
[55:50] Speaker 1: run rate. There's been five tight ends drafted outside the
[55:53] Speaker 1: top twelve who had between one hundred and three hundred
[55:56] Speaker 1: routes run since twenty fourteen and a yards per out
[55:58] Speaker 1: run rate above two.
[55:59] Speaker 2: So very efficient, but not a ton of routes.
[56:02] Speaker 1: Three of those five tight ends outpaced their ADP expectation
[56:06] Speaker 1: by by four PPR points per game or more, which
[56:08] Speaker 1: is kind of crazy. So I'm in on Dolcich as
[56:12] Speaker 1: just a dart throw to see if maybe he could
[56:14] Speaker 1: develop something with Malik Willis and be one of the
[56:16] Speaker 1: top target gutters in that Miami offense.
[56:19] Speaker 4: Okay, nextcell the list, we have a guy who they're
[56:22] Speaker 4: calling Patty Ice. Yeah, Pat Bryant.
[56:26] Speaker 1: There's some like this is one player where there's this
[56:28] Speaker 1: undeniable camp pipe, right, yes, and and I wrote about
[56:32] Speaker 1: this in the Prospect Guide, So I'm just gonna cite
[56:35] Speaker 1: some of this because I do the year two profiles, right,
[56:37] Speaker 1: So this is Pat Bryant's year two profile. From weeks
[56:40] Speaker 1: one to eight, Pat Bryant saw just a thirty six
[56:42] Speaker 1: percent route share, He averaged three point six points per game,
[56:45] Speaker 1: and just a point fourty.
[56:46] Speaker 2: Eight yards per out run ray. That is horrendous.
[56:49] Speaker 1: But then Troy Franklin they started scaling his usage back,
[56:53] Speaker 1: and then Bryant saw a sixty nine percent route share
[56:57] Speaker 1: and a one point five to eight yards route run rate,
[57:00] Speaker 1: which is pretty strong for a wide receivers. That's from
[57:03] Speaker 1: then on out. They were gonna feature him in that
[57:06] Speaker 1: playoff game before he was concussed and he left that game.
[57:09] Speaker 1: Courtland Sutton, Oh my gosh, there's his name again. He's
[57:12] Speaker 1: gonna be thirty one in October. He's commanded Cortland Sutton
[57:16] Speaker 1: commanded a target on fewer than twenty percent of his
[57:18] Speaker 1: routes run last year. Denver has been top five in
[57:21] Speaker 1: passing volumes since bo Nicks entered the league. I could
[57:24] Speaker 1: see Pat Bryant carving out a roll and dare I say,
[57:28] Speaker 1: dare I say, towards the end of the season pushing
[57:31] Speaker 1: for more snaps at the X in the Denver offense.
[57:38] Speaker 4: Who's currently in the snaps for a theater? We won't.
[57:40] Speaker 2: We won't have to.
[57:41] Speaker 4: I think people can can can figure that out last,
[57:45] Speaker 4: but certainly not least a guy that Philly signed on
[57:49] Speaker 4: Tavian Wicks.
[57:50] Speaker 2: I do like the Sutton bit, by the way, it's
[57:52] Speaker 2: I think we got to just keep up the Sutton bit.
[57:54] Speaker 4: Just to yeah, until he goes for like two touchdowns week.
[57:57] Speaker 2: Oh, I'm gonna be I'm gonna be destroyed. That's inevitably
[57:59] Speaker 2: gonna happen. He's one week.
[58:00] Speaker 1: Yeah, Dantavian Wicks, you got makaile Lemon banged up. Wix
[58:04] Speaker 1: is getting reps as the number two wide receiver. Concentration
[58:08] Speaker 1: in like drops have always been a concern for Wis,
[58:10] Speaker 1: But look at this. In twenty twenty three, he gave
[58:13] Speaker 1: us a two point oh four yards brough out run season.
[58:16] Speaker 1: In twenty twenty four, he saw a target on twenty
[58:18] Speaker 1: five percent of his routes run, which is a very
[58:20] Speaker 1: very strong number. What if he just brings it together
[58:23] Speaker 1: because he needed to change of scenery in Philadelphia, and
[58:25] Speaker 1: that is an offense that needs a pass catcher to
[58:28] Speaker 1: step up.
[58:29] Speaker 2: No aj Brown, Eli Stowers.
[58:31] Speaker 1: It sounds like is not really going to be that
[58:33] Speaker 1: dude here in twenty twenty six, and obviously Makayle Lemon
[58:37] Speaker 1: is banged up. Throw that dart at Dantavian Wicks. Do
[58:40] Speaker 1: it in Best Ball as well. I have so much
[58:42] Speaker 1: Wix and Best Ball. I have a lot of Pat
[58:43] Speaker 1: Bryant in Best Ball too. But if you're talking managed
[58:46] Speaker 1: season long leagues, I think he's a fine end of
[58:49] Speaker 1: draft target for you.
[58:52] Speaker 4: Okay, CALLI underscore Max, says Listener. For about eight years.
[58:56] Speaker 4: This is the first time I'm catching you guys live
[58:58] Speaker 4: so happy, love y'allt's and we love you too. And also,
[59:02] Speaker 4: right after this show is done, it's going to redirect
[59:05] Speaker 4: you to the Best Ball stream where JJ's gonna be
[59:08] Speaker 4: drafting a team on our YouTube channel. He might need to,
[59:12] Speaker 4: you know, take a drink of water in between them,
[59:13] Speaker 4: but make sure you're sticking around for that. And with
[59:18] Speaker 4: that being said, let's wrap this up all right. As
[59:24] Speaker 4: a reminder, like subscribe, comment all that stuff. We like
[59:29] Speaker 4: reading the feedback that you all have, even if we disagree. JJ.
[59:34] Speaker 4: You know some you are known sometimes to engage with
[59:37] Speaker 4: people that have different opinions.
[59:39] Speaker 1: I like engaging with people on the internet if they
[59:42] Speaker 1: want to have just like a normal discussion about football.
[59:44] Speaker 1: You know, I'm on Reddit a lot where I'm chiming
[59:49] Speaker 1: in and trying to, you know, explain a stance that
[59:51] Speaker 1: I have, and you know, some people will just continue
[59:54] Speaker 1: to trash me. That's fine, but there are many more
[59:57] Speaker 1: people who you know, embrace that and engage in it,
[1:00:00] Speaker 1: and I think that that's healthy, right, So I will
[1:00:04] Speaker 1: gladly have discussions about players that you disagree with me
[1:00:07] Speaker 1: on I'm going to be wrong about stuff.
[1:00:09] Speaker 2: You're going to be wrong about stuff.
[1:00:10] Speaker 1: We're just trying to get better and we're trying to
[1:00:12] Speaker 1: really enjoy this hobby and you know, get through the season,
