[1:12] Speaker 2: I don't like all the intro stuff. Welcome to my podcast.
[1:15] Speaker 2: Hi everyone, right?
[1:17] Speaker 1: I hate that, Like I've always done the cold open
[1:20] Speaker 1: because I feel like every show just ends up going, hey, Alan,
[1:24] Speaker 1: how are you today? And then you're like, good, how
[1:27] Speaker 1: are you? And then that's you know, this is just
[1:28] Speaker 1: a minute and a half of that and no one
[1:30] Speaker 1: needs to hear.
[1:31] Speaker 2: That part, and no one cares how you are, no
[1:33] Speaker 2: one over I produce a lot of the the video
[1:36] Speaker 2: stuff over at road a wire, and I tell these guys,
[1:38] Speaker 2: no one cares about your golf trip until they care
[1:40] Speaker 2: about you know, just like just just get right to it,
[1:43] Speaker 2: like shock. You know, our mutual colleague Sigmun Bloom does
[1:47] Speaker 2: this right like he comes in like with a fantasy question,
[1:49] Speaker 2: but it does. Yes, yeah, and I love that. But
[1:52] Speaker 2: also just talking about how intros are bad and your
[1:55] Speaker 2: intro is also elite level intro.
[1:57] Speaker 1: This is this is like next level stuff right now. Yes, yes,
[2:01] Speaker 1: I always go back to uh. I don't know if
[2:03] Speaker 1: you've ever seen that one video from Pete Overz that
[2:05] Speaker 1: from like five or six years ago, maybe even longer.
[2:08] Speaker 1: But it's uh, it's him his back is to the camera, okay,
[2:12] Speaker 1: and there's this like really like there's like this like
[2:14] Speaker 1: pretty extreme like rap going on in the background, like
[2:17] Speaker 1: intro music. Because that's how fantasy football shows are, right,
[2:19] Speaker 1: Like they have this like really intense music and then
[2:22] Speaker 1: you know overs that's slowly turning his chair around, and
[2:26] Speaker 1: then he's staring at the camera and he's got this
[2:28] Speaker 1: like really serious look, like we got you know, this
[2:30] Speaker 1: intense music is going on, and then all of a
[2:32] Speaker 1: sudden he goes, welcome everybody to another episode.
[2:37] Speaker 2: It's almost like an snl skit Fantasy Football open. But
[2:40] Speaker 2: also you do a gazillion podcast like I know you
[2:43] Speaker 2: like everybody, You're a friendly guy. But that that chit
[2:46] Speaker 2: chat in the beginning of the podcast, it's it's it's uncomfortable, unnecessary.
[2:52] Speaker 2: Let's get to it, man.
[2:53] Speaker 1: Let you know, I agree, that's what That's what the
[2:55] Speaker 1: Late Round podcast was built off. It was just get
[2:57] Speaker 1: people the information they need. You know, we have other
[2:59] Speaker 1: shows in the in the feed now, like we do
[3:02] Speaker 1: the Late Round show where we have a little but
[3:04] Speaker 1: like I think that the other thing too is that
[3:06] Speaker 1: I think that if if you're if your listener becomes
[3:09] Speaker 1: aware that how things are structured, and then you know,
[3:12] Speaker 1: if they want to skip ahead, skip ahead, it's it's fine,
[3:15] Speaker 1: you know, Like that's that's some big I think the
[3:18] Speaker 1: bigger problem is when the expectations are not aligned with
[3:22] Speaker 1: what the listener, you know, is expecting as they go
[3:26] Speaker 1: into listening to a show of some sort, and then
[3:28] Speaker 1: all of a sudden, you know, they're they're in the
[3:30] Speaker 1: middle of like a really intense fantasy football conversation, and
[3:33] Speaker 1: then they just start talking, you know, like you said
[3:34] Speaker 1: about their golf trip or something, or.
[3:36] Speaker 2: Like you know about like the basketball game that you know,
[3:39] Speaker 2: this video that we're making is like fantasy football related.
[3:43] Speaker 2: It's supposed to be relevant to someone in six weeks
[3:45] Speaker 2: from now. No one's going to care about the NBA
[3:48] Speaker 2: big game that you just saw. I mean, it's it's
[3:50] Speaker 2: good for the moment. Yeah, so yeah, I.
[3:52] Speaker 1: Mean, it was sweet. It was sweet. The finals, both
[3:55] Speaker 1: both finals, both the NBA and NHL finals were great
[3:57] Speaker 1: in my opinion.
[3:58] Speaker 2: And now we're doing it. Now, we're talking about something
[4:00] Speaker 2: that no one's got six weeks now.
[4:02] Speaker 1: We ruin this all right, Well, let's let me first
[4:05] Speaker 1: bring up because we talked about this whenever we were
[4:07] Speaker 1: you and I were chatting on a show a couple
[4:08] Speaker 1: of months ago. But we're in a wild dynasty league
[4:12] Speaker 1: together where it's ten analysts. Uh. This was started by
[4:15] Speaker 1: some of the football guys. Guys and uh there's ten
[4:18] Speaker 1: analysts and it's a start too, but also additional two
[4:22] Speaker 1: super flex leagues so you can realistically start four quarterbacks
[4:26] Speaker 1: and then you know there's other there's other uh you know,
[4:29] Speaker 1: flex pieces in there for running back, wide receiver. And
[4:32] Speaker 1: I remember we had this conversation because we we talked
[4:34] Speaker 1: before the rookie draft happened, and I went with more
[4:38] Speaker 1: a productive struggle. Year one, you won the league. So
[4:41] Speaker 1: let's everyone give kudos to Allen here. Clap clap, clapa
[4:44] Speaker 1: you you won year one, which I was really upset
[4:46] Speaker 1: about because now me, yeah, now I traded your Kalen
[4:50] Speaker 1: Waddel for for like a first last year because I
[4:52] Speaker 1: knew that I just needed to start flipping some assets
[4:54] Speaker 1: and stuff, which I unbelieve on it. Like you guys
[4:58] Speaker 1: want to talk about like I'm not an analyst who
[4:59] Speaker 1: like hides from moves or like hides from the way
[5:02] Speaker 1: that I'm approaching things and stuff. I've always been a
[5:05] Speaker 1: Jalen Wattle guy. It's just that you guys know that
[5:07] Speaker 1: when you're in a dynasty league and you're in a
[5:10] Speaker 1: clear like I need to just get some assets to hopefully,
[5:13] Speaker 1: you know, like look better the next season and such like,
[5:16] Speaker 1: I knew what I was doing year one in terms
[5:18] Speaker 1: of the productive struggle, so I just flipped Jayleen Waddle
[5:21] Speaker 1: and I wanted some some assets. And with this being
[5:24] Speaker 1: a four quarterback league, if you will, I knew that
[5:27] Speaker 1: some of those running backs and wide receivers would fall
[5:29] Speaker 1: a little bit more or I would just get a quarterback.
[5:32] Speaker 1: But you ended up winning, So I got a bad pickup.
[5:35] Speaker 2: Yeah, but two things happen there when you traded me
[5:37] Speaker 2: Jalen Waddle. Jalen Wattle's arrow was pointing down right like
[5:41] Speaker 2: on Miami hadn't been as good, And because you need
[5:44] Speaker 2: to start five wide receivers in this particular league, I
[5:47] Speaker 2: was like, listen, if I'm a top two or three team,
[5:51] Speaker 2: at least this is you have to push your chips
[5:53] Speaker 2: in at some point, and nobody's giving me anything better
[5:56] Speaker 2: than Jalen Wattle. At that point, I didn't think it
[5:58] Speaker 2: was such a bad deal for you, because remember, yea,
[6:00] Speaker 2: even if I win JJ, it's still pick one ten.
[6:02] Speaker 2: It's not one twelve in a ten person league, right.
[6:05] Speaker 1: It's one ten. And then hopefully the quarterback class wasn't
[6:08] Speaker 1: as futrid as it ended up being and just in
[6:09] Speaker 1: terms of like because there's a lot you know, it
[6:11] Speaker 1: wasn't like we did this in like February or something
[6:13] Speaker 1: like that. The problem, the problem for me is that
[6:16] Speaker 1: Waddle ends up hitting, in my opinion, hitting the right
[6:19] Speaker 1: you know, I mean like a ninety in terms of
[6:22] Speaker 1: like what happened this offseason. It probably like a ninetieth
[6:24] Speaker 1: percent tile typeollcome, you know, just like a better environment.
[6:27] Speaker 1: Every I'm doing stuff for my draft guide right now,
[6:30] Speaker 1: and every middle round trend middle round being anyone, any
[6:33] Speaker 1: wide receiver after wide receiver eighteen is how I generally
[6:36] Speaker 1: define that he hits like every trend like I Jalen
[6:39] Speaker 1: Waddle to me is a very very interesting slash potentially
[6:44] Speaker 1: like big pick this year, right, And so that coming
[6:47] Speaker 1: together is what makes me, you know, feel the way
[6:49] Speaker 1: that I do right now.
[6:50] Speaker 2: And that's like one of the ways that I'll play
[6:52] Speaker 2: dynasty too. Like we haven't even seen the result of
[6:54] Speaker 2: Jalen Waddle, but Jalen Waddle for some reason, go some
[6:57] Speaker 2: like wide receiver twenty seven to wide receiver nineteen. I'm
[6:59] Speaker 2: going making those numbers up. But he has like a
[7:02] Speaker 2: ten spot boost and that's what out so and I
[7:06] Speaker 2: think that's gonna be part of our larger conversation today.
[7:08] Speaker 2: Is like sometimes it's like not about what they're going
[7:10] Speaker 2: to produce on the field, some of these guys, it's
[7:12] Speaker 2: about what's their value can you turn them into? And
[7:14] Speaker 2: you're right, Jalen Wattle is in a better situation. Because
[7:18] Speaker 2: it's funny, like I see a lot of fantasy output
[7:21] Speaker 2: on like social media saying how no one's gonna draft
[7:24] Speaker 2: von A Chan because he's in a bad situation. That's
[7:26] Speaker 2: like one of the best running backs in the league
[7:28] Speaker 2: right now. So yeah, those situations really do help boost
[7:31] Speaker 2: a player's value. I don't even think the trade is
[7:34] Speaker 2: that bad. It ended up being in net net now
[7:36] Speaker 2: that we know all the results. You get Eli Stowers
[7:40] Speaker 2: in a two tight end league, right, so you ended
[7:42] Speaker 2: up drafting at the one. Yeah. Yeah, I looked at
[7:44] Speaker 2: it before. I figured we were gonna figure, we're gonna
[7:47] Speaker 2: bring this up for some therapy, and you know, and
[7:50] Speaker 2: I get Waddle, who's what twenty seven going on twenty eight,
[7:53] Speaker 2: So it's not terrible in a startup with a two
[7:55] Speaker 2: tight end startup, I think that those guys would probably
[7:58] Speaker 2: go in a similar place. And I know startup price
[8:00] Speaker 2: is different than trade price, but it's not. I don't
[8:02] Speaker 2: think it's going to be as bad.
[8:03] Speaker 1: I mean, look, I've had I've had worse trades, that's
[8:06] Speaker 1: for sure. You know it's just the worst one.
[8:07] Speaker 2: Give me the worst one you've ever had.
[8:09] Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, I think the worst one. Fortunately I'm
[8:12] Speaker 1: no longer part. Like my team was really good, but
[8:15] Speaker 1: it was just like becoming overwhelming to be part of
[8:16] Speaker 1: the league. This was when am and Ross Saint Brown
[8:19] Speaker 1: came out, and I remember I knew that there was
[8:22] Speaker 1: a chance I would get him in the late second,
[8:24] Speaker 1: you know, because that's where he was going in a
[8:25] Speaker 1: lot of the rookie drafts that year. But before my
[8:28] Speaker 1: pick even came up, I I was in win now
[8:31] Speaker 1: mode and it was like, I don't know about you,
[8:34] Speaker 1: but do you ever like when you're when you're doing
[8:36] Speaker 1: trades sometimes, do you ever have just like this? I
[8:40] Speaker 1: hopefully I can describe this. Well, this like one day
[8:43] Speaker 1: window where you just happen to be like like specifically
[8:47] Speaker 1: high on that player or in that on that situation,
[8:50] Speaker 1: and then literally like a day or two later, you're like,
[8:53] Speaker 1: I'm not I don't know why I was so high
[8:54] Speaker 1: in that moment, you know, Like, dude.
[8:56] Speaker 2: It happens to me when I get off podcasts with
[8:58] Speaker 2: smart guys like yourself. Like I was on a podcast
[9:00] Speaker 2: with Thorneistrom and he talked me into Luke McCaffrey and
[9:04] Speaker 2: then I traded like a second round pick to get before. Yeah,
[9:06] Speaker 2: so it happens all the I'm influenced just like anybody else's, right.
[9:09] Speaker 1: Sure, sure, and so I it was. It was like
[9:11] Speaker 1: it was the beginning of the second round. I knew
[9:13] Speaker 1: that there was a chance that am and Rod would
[9:14] Speaker 1: be there, maybe even like mid second. I was only
[9:16] Speaker 1: like three or four picks away, and I just ended
[9:19] Speaker 1: up trading my late second for the the Corpse of
[9:22] Speaker 1: Julio Jones.
[9:23] Speaker 2: Oh, and that was the pick.
[9:25] Speaker 1: It ended up being the amen Ro pick.
[9:27] Speaker 2: Yeah.
[9:28] Speaker 1: And there's also I mean, I I in a in
[9:29] Speaker 1: a league that I'm still in. Uh that this Dino
[9:34] Speaker 1: Game Theory league. Uh that that Jack's Falcone if you will, well, uh,
[9:38] Speaker 1: he's run. I traded. It's a you know, super flex league.
[9:41] Speaker 1: My team is actually really good, but I ended up
[9:44] Speaker 1: trading a couple of years ago Dak in a super
[9:46] Speaker 1: flex league, which I love. I'm I'm I've been a
[9:48] Speaker 1: dak backers. That was like a kind of a play
[9:51] Speaker 1: on on my portfolio a little bit, but I ended
[9:54] Speaker 1: up flipping him for Iuk and Picks and you know, yeah,
[9:59] Speaker 1: is just yeah, it was also but that was also
[10:01] Speaker 1: a moment where I'm like, there's a three day period
[10:04] Speaker 1: where I was high on Ayuk as a player and
[10:07] Speaker 1: as a situation without like fully looking into my research
[10:10] Speaker 1: and knowing regression was going to come to some degree.
[10:12] Speaker 1: I didn't expect this. Of course, you know, this is
[10:14] Speaker 1: this is that was a trade with Justin Boone. So
[10:16] Speaker 1: shout out Justin Boone for completely fleecing me in that.
[10:18] Speaker 1: But yeah, I mean, like, what what's your what's your
[10:21] Speaker 1: worst that you can remember?
[10:22] Speaker 2: Oh this it's an easy one. I can tell you
[10:24] Speaker 2: a second. But don't you like wake up in the
[10:25] Speaker 2: middle of the night sometimes like just randomly and listen.
[10:27] Speaker 2: If these are the problems we're waking up thinking about,
[10:29] Speaker 2: then things are going well, right. But I I like,
[10:33] Speaker 2: it really gets me when I do something like so
[10:35] Speaker 2: stupid too, like that, you know, like in hindsight, because
[10:37] Speaker 2: the process is fine. Of course, by the way, I
[10:39] Speaker 2: would say, Brandon Nyuk still in a better spot than
[10:41] Speaker 2: my Luke McCaffrey, who I trade right, I The worst
[10:46] Speaker 2: one I ever did was after Juju Smith Schusters like
[10:50] Speaker 2: that rookie and I was it was his second year
[10:52] Speaker 2: where he broke out. Yeah, he was wide receiver one
[10:55] Speaker 2: in dynasty rankings. I traded the farm for him, and
[10:57] Speaker 2: those picks that I ended up trading away were like
[10:59] Speaker 2: bar glee. It was like yeah it was. It was
[11:02] Speaker 2: all the wrong stuff and that one it forced me
[11:04] Speaker 2: out of a dynasty league. I had no like return
[11:06] Speaker 2: from it, and I was like, you know what, I'll
[11:08] Speaker 2: pay for the next guy to come in, Like, I
[11:10] Speaker 2: don't want to rebuild this team, which, by the way,
[11:13] Speaker 2: you know people leaving dynasty leagues, which is a epidemic.
[11:16] Speaker 2: I think there is a right way to do it
[11:18] Speaker 2: as well. You in a lot of leagues, are you
[11:20] Speaker 2: do you get out of them?
[11:21] Speaker 1: I mean I've I've fortunately the last couple of years,
[11:24] Speaker 1: started to like some of them just have collapsed, and
[11:27] Speaker 1: some of them, I'm just like, you know what, this
[11:28] Speaker 1: is not nearly as active. I try to pick and
[11:31] Speaker 1: choose like the more active ones to be part of.
[11:32] Speaker 1: But yeah, I mean, like to me, if you're gonna leave.
[11:35] Speaker 1: I try. I'm like, yo, I'll pay the next like
[11:37] Speaker 1: three years ago, you know, like you paid get out.
[11:40] Speaker 1: I don't want to be I don't want to be
[11:41] Speaker 1: an inconvenience to anyone because this is not the way
[11:43] Speaker 1: that you know, I roll. But yeah, I mean, like
[11:46] Speaker 1: I think that that there is a way to not
[11:48] Speaker 1: be a you know, a jerk as you as you exit.
[11:50] Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean you see it in the chanel time,
[11:52] Speaker 2: Well my busy and kids like you just say you
[11:56] Speaker 2: don't want to be in the league anymore because I
[11:57] Speaker 2: see those guys end up in like three more startups
[12:00] Speaker 2: like the next year.
[12:01] Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, but yeah, our our, our league. It was.
[12:03] Speaker 1: I was very happy that I got the one O
[12:05] Speaker 1: two in that league though, because we were having this
[12:07] Speaker 1: discussion where in ogue four quarterback, Yeah, in in the
[12:10] Speaker 1: in the in the crazy four quarterback league. I was
[12:12] Speaker 1: happy to have the one O two because I knew
[12:14] Speaker 1: that worst case I was gonna get Mendoza, but I
[12:16] Speaker 1: thought Mendoza was going to go one on one and
[12:18] Speaker 1: he did, so I ended up getting Jeremiah Love at
[12:20] Speaker 1: the one oh two.
[12:21] Speaker 2: In that league, this format where you could start four quarterbacks,
[12:24] Speaker 2: which again nobody plays, and I don't recommend it to anybody.
[12:26] Speaker 2: It's a horrible format, but we're playing.
[12:28] Speaker 1: Yeah, it's honestly more disgusting than anything that I've done.
[12:32] Speaker 2: Yeah, it's it's like not fun. It's only fun a
[12:34] Speaker 2: little bit for me right now because I have breakdown
[12:36] Speaker 2: as my qub before, right because I want But it's
[12:37] Speaker 2: not going to be fun in like a year and
[12:39] Speaker 2: a half from now. But the uh yeah, this is
[12:41] Speaker 2: the only format where Jeremiah loved. The rookie running back
[12:44] Speaker 2: in Arizona goes second. Yeah, you get them at two
[12:46] Speaker 2: because I I've been in thirty eight drafts and it's
[12:49] Speaker 2: never happened and anything.
[12:51] Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, all right, So before we get into stuff,
[12:53] Speaker 1: let's let's let's introduce you in your in your background
[12:56] Speaker 1: a little bit so folks know what you're all about,
[12:58] Speaker 1: because this is the first time that you're you're hopping
[12:59] Speaker 1: on PERSPECTI.
[13:00] Speaker 2: Here, Yeah, you know, I'm Alan Saslowski. I work over
[13:04] Speaker 2: at rohde Wire and similar to you, man, I was
[13:07] Speaker 2: just like a nut about fantasy. When I was working
[13:09] Speaker 2: a regular desk job. I used to, you know, pretend
[13:11] Speaker 2: I was working and just do all my fantasy drafts
[13:13] Speaker 2: right like I used to do the research. I would
[13:15] Speaker 2: do mock draft Central back in the day. And then
[13:18] Speaker 2: you know, I saw like an opening for something that
[13:22] Speaker 2: like I think it was where Jeff Ratcliffe used to work.
[13:24] Speaker 2: Was it PFF back in the day. Yeah, And he
[13:27] Speaker 2: posted it and I was like, it's my friend told
[13:29] Speaker 2: me he's like, you should go for that job. I
[13:31] Speaker 2: was like, what the hell am I guy going to
[13:33] Speaker 2: do at a job? You know, fantasy, that's not a
[13:35] Speaker 2: real job. So I asked a colleague of the new
[13:39] Speaker 2: Jeff if he could put in a word for me
[13:42] Speaker 2: or something like that, and he goes, no, he goes,
[13:44] Speaker 2: once you come work for me over at Roster Watch.
[13:46] Speaker 2: That was Byron Lambert. So I used to be a
[13:49] Speaker 2: caller to Byron show and that's how we knew me.
[13:51] Speaker 2: And then he goes, come over. So I just started
[13:53] Speaker 2: doing the article grind, the video grind, and then I
[13:56] Speaker 2: do a lot of the video editing and and all
[13:58] Speaker 2: the podcast editing and stuff, and sure enough I was
[14:01] Speaker 2: able to pick up with road a wire man and
[14:04] Speaker 2: as again as someone interacted with their serious exem show.
[14:07] Speaker 2: And I've been there for about five years now doing
[14:09] Speaker 2: all the video stuff, hosting a serious XM show for them,
[14:12] Speaker 2: getting some good opportunities. But yeah, and it's like I'm
[14:15] Speaker 2: like six years into this thing and I'm I'm like,
[14:17] Speaker 2: you man, you own a business doing this thing. I
[14:19] Speaker 2: still like I'm waiting for someone to take it all
[14:21] Speaker 2: away and go back to like, you know, horrible desk jobs.
[14:24] Speaker 2: Like I never feel like it's gonna last, you know, yeah.
[14:27] Speaker 1: No, I I feel you. I feel you. It's a
[14:29] Speaker 1: it's a it's a you know, very lucky to be
[14:30] Speaker 1: able to do this, you know, in day out and
[14:34] Speaker 1: in my case and Jim, as I say in Jim
[14:35] Speaker 1: shorts every.
[14:36] Speaker 2: Day, oh my god. So when people ask you like it,
[14:39] Speaker 2: you know, a gathering with kids or whatever, dinner part,
[14:42] Speaker 2: like when they say like what do you do for
[14:43] Speaker 2: a living? Like do you always have trouble explaining it?
[14:45] Speaker 2: Or like do you curtail it? Because when you say
[14:48] Speaker 2: fantasy football, they're like you know, what.
[14:50] Speaker 1: Do you mean? Yeah? Yeah, And then I'm like yeah,
[14:51] Speaker 1: I'm like, yeah, I own a fantasy football company right
[14:54] Speaker 1: right now. I usually tell people that I'm a podcaster first,
[14:58] Speaker 1: and so I say that because that's more that's become
[15:01] Speaker 1: more generally accepted and then that way they asked the
[15:05] Speaker 1: question of like what it's about, and then I can
[15:07] Speaker 1: exporm it in the way yeah and so like yeah,
[15:09] Speaker 1: exactly depending on the demographic, like depending on the person
[15:13] Speaker 1: I'm talking to, and just if I if I broadly
[15:15] Speaker 1: know what they might be into or not, then I
[15:17] Speaker 1: can kind of curtail my answer based on if they say,
[15:20] Speaker 1: what's it about? You know? Then I can get into
[15:22] Speaker 1: a lot of detail if I know this is a
[15:23] Speaker 1: sports person or you know, not in a lot of
[15:25] Speaker 1: detail if not. But yeah, it's always been a pretty weird.
[15:29] Speaker 1: I've gotten more and more comfortable though as I gotten older,
[15:31] Speaker 1: because I think as you get older, you just don't
[15:33] Speaker 1: care anymore.
[15:33] Speaker 2: You don't care. And plus you've made a real business
[15:36] Speaker 2: out of it. And it's funny. I have a funny
[15:38] Speaker 2: anecdotal story about you, JJ, because you know, when I
[15:41] Speaker 2: was just again, I listened. I still listen to every
[15:44] Speaker 2: single podcast at I consume so much content. I like
[15:47] Speaker 2: to know what other people are thinking too. I know
[15:49] Speaker 2: that a lot of fantasy football content creators, I think
[15:51] Speaker 2: you've fallen this is that you try to avoid it
[15:54] Speaker 2: because you don't want to. Yeah, because the and I
[15:56] Speaker 2: understand it because you don't want it to like go
[15:57] Speaker 2: into your process. I'm the opposite. I like the or
[16:00] Speaker 2: what everyone else says and kind of just and by
[16:02] Speaker 2: the way, this is not a process I recommend, but
[16:05] Speaker 2: I still enjoy it. I really still enjoy and listening
[16:08] Speaker 2: to you, listening you just you know, to Scott Connor
[16:11] Speaker 2: and Jack's felle Coe and all those guys, and I
[16:13] Speaker 2: just I put all together. But when my my wife
[16:17] Speaker 2: actually discovered your podcast before I did, and when she
[16:21] Speaker 2: and she plays a lot of fantasy football, she's you know,
[16:23] Speaker 2: she's a casual she but she plays every year, and
[16:25] Speaker 2: she used to always tell me about you. So I
[16:27] Speaker 2: was like, you know, and I don't want her to
[16:29] Speaker 2: be telling me who's good. So I used to listen
[16:32] Speaker 2: nice to hate listen to you JJ because I was like,
[16:35] Speaker 2: this is her thing, you know, and so I love it.
[16:37] Speaker 1: Yeah, I love it.
[16:38] Speaker 2: You are you are her favorite fantasy football podcasters. So
[16:42] Speaker 2: she was more excited than anyone that I was coming
[16:44] Speaker 2: to hang with you for a little bit.
[16:45] Speaker 1: That's awesome. I should have had her as a guest.
[16:47] Speaker 2: I probably more interesting to tell you that.
[16:49] Speaker 1: Yeah, so is that is that how you sort of
[16:51] Speaker 1: like frame yourself as an analyst. Is that like you're, uh,
[16:54] Speaker 1: you're kind of aggregating and sifting through and kind of
[16:57] Speaker 1: approaching things that way totally.
[16:58] Speaker 2: Man, I was a called there's people you know, everyone
[17:01] Speaker 2: has needs, thinks they need to have their secret sauce.
[17:03] Speaker 2: Now you have your model, your zapp stuff like you
[17:06] Speaker 2: do that well. Other people watch film really well, like
[17:10] Speaker 2: I'm not going to do it better than them. I'm
[17:11] Speaker 2: going to listen to what they say. But also I
[17:14] Speaker 2: watch so much NFL football and I play a ton
[17:16] Speaker 2: of fantasy leagues. I play in the high steak stuff.
[17:19] Speaker 2: I play in, you know, like in the sleeper stuff
[17:21] Speaker 2: with industry guys, and I'm able to kind of see
[17:24] Speaker 2: the angles there. I think that's kind of like my superpower.
[17:27] Speaker 2: Like for example, I know, like everyone loves Casey Conceptsi
[17:30] Speaker 2: on the Browns. He's high in your model, isn't he
[17:32] Speaker 2: He was.
[17:33] Speaker 1: He was at least like like not far off from Lemon,
[17:35] Speaker 1: but yeah, he was the wider. He was like comfortably
[17:37] Speaker 1: the wide receiver.
[17:38] Speaker 2: For you, right, everyone likes him. He's like the last
[17:40] Speaker 2: pick in this rookie draft before it just goes off
[17:43] Speaker 2: the rails. For a lot of people, So I don't
[17:45] Speaker 2: need to watch all that you know, and I'm just
[17:47] Speaker 2: when I'm consuming all of you know, the best guys
[17:50] Speaker 2: that do it. But I know if I draft him,
[17:52] Speaker 2: I'm going to be able to do something with Casey
[17:54] Speaker 2: conceptsion especially he has like his first game is like
[17:57] Speaker 2: six for eighty or something like that. So that's basically
[17:59] Speaker 2: been my process is, like you said, is bring it
[18:02] Speaker 2: all together, trust my observations. Same way like when you
[18:06] Speaker 2: go to a doctor, you don't do your own you
[18:08] Speaker 2: don't have come your own model for a doctor, right.
[18:10] Speaker 2: You listen to all the research.
[18:11] Speaker 1: You can get all the things, that's what you think,
[18:13] Speaker 1: but you.
[18:14] Speaker 2: Have your late round medical advice.
[18:17] Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, late late round, uh, late round mole checking, yeah.
[18:22] Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly exactly. Do you do proctology as well? Yeah,
[18:25] Speaker 2: let's let's not go there, all right, all right, uh,
[18:29] Speaker 2: but the same thing like with you know, with food
[18:30] Speaker 2: or anything else, you listen to what the people you trust,
[18:33] Speaker 2: and then you form opinions on your own observations and
[18:37] Speaker 2: basically how you know this game goes.
[18:39] Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean I think that's that's interesting. It kind
[18:41] Speaker 1: of leads me to this next question of like what
[18:42] Speaker 1: you think dynasty managers do wrong because I've sort of
[18:46] Speaker 1: the way that I've frame what you're saying here really
[18:48] Speaker 1: resonates with me, because I've always tried to frame to
[18:51] Speaker 1: people that dynasty has sort of two big pillars, one
[18:55] Speaker 1: pillar being production obviously because you need to score fantasy points,
[18:58] Speaker 1: you need to attempt to win. But the other pillars
[19:01] Speaker 1: what you're talking about, the the Jalen Waddel thing, and
[19:03] Speaker 1: that is you know, you just want the market value
[19:05] Speaker 1: to change. And is that is that something that you
[19:07] Speaker 1: think dynasty managers still get wrong. I mean, that's something
[19:09] Speaker 1: that you obviously have focused on a lot, just given
[19:12] Speaker 1: all the consumption that you're doing.
[19:14] Speaker 2: Yeah, And I think that you're gonna hate this answer
[19:17] Speaker 2: because you are, like you are very rigid to your process.
[19:20] Speaker 2: You trust it, and there's yeah. I always say, like
[19:23] Speaker 2: I kind of make the joke. It's like a game
[19:25] Speaker 2: of blackjack, right, Like you would never if the dealer's
[19:28] Speaker 2: showing a for those who play blackjack, the dealer's showing
[19:31] Speaker 2: a six and you have to say a five of fifteen, right,
[19:36] Speaker 2: you would never hit on that, right. But if I
[19:38] Speaker 2: hit on that and follow me here and I get
[19:40] Speaker 2: twenty one right, that was the wrong process, but I
[19:43] Speaker 2: got the right result. Sure, right, So I think that
[19:46] Speaker 2: and again that's an extreme example, but I don't. I
[19:49] Speaker 2: think that what dynasty managers do incorrectly is they're too
[19:52] Speaker 2: rigid to their process rather than some time measuring result. Now,
[19:56] Speaker 2: there's always going to be outliers, right, like poopin Nakua.
[19:58] Speaker 2: I'm in Ross Saint Brown. I think he is kind
[20:00] Speaker 2: of an outlier in a little bit, right, Like he
[20:02] Speaker 2: didn't go in any first rounds of rookie drafts, right
[20:04] Speaker 2: he Now he's one of the top five dynasty assets.
[20:06] Speaker 2: So being too rigid to the process, which again goes
[20:10] Speaker 2: against like your religion over here.
[20:11] Speaker 1: So no, I mean, look, but I think I like
[20:13] Speaker 1: you can you're not offending me at all because I agree,
[20:16] Speaker 1: Like I I think that like as I'm talking to
[20:21] Speaker 1: people and as I'm producing this content, it's very much
[20:25] Speaker 1: a hey, this is the way that I've approached things generally,
[20:28] Speaker 1: and it's led to this. But you know, if you're
[20:31] Speaker 1: part of the discord or if you're you know, like
[20:33] Speaker 1: I'm giving you know, I'm talking to people all the
[20:35] Speaker 1: time about like I don't want to say, like my
[20:38] Speaker 1: truer thoughts, because that's not really the case. Like I'm
[20:41] Speaker 1: just letting them know, like, hey, this is what I
[20:44] Speaker 1: just did in the Dynasty League, let's say, right, And
[20:46] Speaker 1: they might say, oh, that goes against your rankings. I'm like, well,
[20:48] Speaker 1: there's context. It's necessary, right, Like there's there are certain
[20:51] Speaker 1: things that you know, whether it is just portfolio management, sure,
[20:54] Speaker 1: but also there are elements to your team that that
[20:57] Speaker 1: you might do something that you wouldn't otherwise do in
[20:59] Speaker 1: another team. I agree, Like I think that the Dynasty
[21:01] Speaker 1: community has gotten to a point where they're more interested
[21:05] Speaker 1: in having a flashy team that has a lot of
[21:07] Speaker 1: value as opposed to having an actual I was guilty
[21:10] Speaker 1: of that for a long time, and I find it
[21:13] Speaker 1: finally clicked with me a few years ago and things
[21:15] Speaker 1: have been like rolling since then. Right. But it's I'm
[21:19] Speaker 1: really good at I mean, I've I've co managed teams
[21:22] Speaker 1: with people and I still do. And I always say
[21:24] Speaker 1: I'm very good at acquiring value, right, because I think
[21:28] Speaker 1: I have an edge with rookie drafts. I think that
[21:30] Speaker 1: can make right moves more often than not. I'm good
[21:32] Speaker 1: at acquiring that value. It's really when you when you
[21:36] Speaker 1: push your chips in that's the most difficult part for
[21:38] Speaker 1: me in dynasty.
[21:39] Speaker 2: Yeah, I actually what you just said, I actually have
[21:41] Speaker 2: a word for it. I've diagnosed it's called SRS sexy
[21:44] Speaker 2: roster syndrome. Yeah oh yeah, yeah, yeah, so you know,
[21:47] Speaker 2: I mean we've you've heard that before. But uh yeah.
[21:49] Speaker 2: People love putting the screenshots of their all young team
[21:53] Speaker 2: on social media. And by the way, I almost like
[21:56] Speaker 2: sometimes then you get the comment says, what is this
[21:58] Speaker 2: a six man league? Right? That usually follows as well.
[22:02] Speaker 2: But I think where what some people do wrong is
[22:05] Speaker 2: they don't look at where the redraft rankings and the
[22:07] Speaker 2: dynasty rankings part because, as you know, dynasty rankings are
[22:11] Speaker 2: very age centric, not skill centric. And you know, like
[22:14] Speaker 2: it or not, a lot of these dynasty leagues probably
[22:16] Speaker 2: have like a three or four year lifespan. Right, It's
[22:19] Speaker 2: like an NFL career. They don't last as long as
[22:21] Speaker 2: you think you do. Some of them are going to
[22:23] Speaker 2: last ten or fifteen years. Some are going to fold
[22:25] Speaker 2: after two years. So I think there is an edge.
[22:27] Speaker 2: And what a lot of dynasty managers make a mistake.
[22:30] Speaker 2: I think you alluded to a little bit here is
[22:33] Speaker 2: undervaluing veterans that produce to accumulate value, and I do
[22:38] Speaker 2: the same thing. I do the same thing. But I'm okay,
[22:41] Speaker 2: you know, giving a pick for a DeVante for a
[22:43] Speaker 2: thirty two year old high producer Mike Evans some one
[22:46] Speaker 2: of these guys, So and look at it that I
[22:48] Speaker 2: did in our league?
[22:49] Speaker 1: Yeah, for you? Is it more what I've found? Because
[22:53] Speaker 1: I know that the common thought is like mid season trading,
[22:57] Speaker 1: you as the person getting the veteran hypothetically be overpaying
[23:01] Speaker 1: right for whatever. You know, That's like the general thought
[23:04] Speaker 1: in the Dynasty world, right, is that you know, if
[23:06] Speaker 1: you wait whenever trade deadlines are coming up or whatever
[23:09] Speaker 1: the case may be, you're going to overpay for those guys.
[23:12] Speaker 1: My more, just like anecdotal experience has not necessarily been
[23:17] Speaker 1: that when you're dealing with a Dynasty manager who at
[23:21] Speaker 1: least has been around the block, right, that is that
[23:24] Speaker 1: is more willing to do deals and understands what they
[23:27] Speaker 1: need to do if they're in the opposite situation that
[23:29] Speaker 1: you are, similar to where we were last year, right,
[23:31] Speaker 1: Like you coming to me and saying like, hey, you
[23:33] Speaker 1: know or you know Jalen Waddle whatever, and then I'm like,
[23:36] Speaker 1: you know, I like him but I guess, you know,
[23:38] Speaker 1: I need to kind of do something here to make
[23:40] Speaker 1: a move. Like I'm in a lot of leagues with
[23:42] Speaker 1: Mike Leoni, and Leoni is the king, and I give
[23:46] Speaker 1: him so much credit. He's a great dynasty player, but
[23:48] Speaker 1: he's the king of just getting a deal done even
[23:51] Speaker 1: if he has a small loss. But he's acquiring, you know,
[23:53] Speaker 1: if he's rebuilding, he's acquiring picks, and he's able to
[23:57] Speaker 1: give up on some of these and he understands that
[23:59] Speaker 1: he might lose the deal, but in the long run,
[24:01] Speaker 1: it's still a better, more beneficial move for him to
[24:04] Speaker 1: make in that moment for his individual team. It's similar
[24:07] Speaker 1: in like best Ball, when you get a falling quarterback value,
[24:10] Speaker 1: but that quarterback just doesn't fit a stack whatsoever on
[24:13] Speaker 1: your team. You can't just force the issue because that's
[24:16] Speaker 1: not going to be good for your team. You're all
[24:18] Speaker 1: you're doing is is trying to gobble up a certain
[24:21] Speaker 1: value when that's really not necessary to do. At quarterbacks.
[24:23] Speaker 1: My question to you is is that you know, as
[24:27] Speaker 1: you're you know, going to win now and trying to build,
[24:32] Speaker 1: you know, a beastly roster to get that w for
[24:34] Speaker 1: that year, have you found that that statement and that
[24:38] Speaker 1: general like idea of guys are way more expensive in season.
[24:42] Speaker 1: Because the reason I say that is like, if you're
[24:43] Speaker 1: going after the veterans, as you say, are you doing
[24:46] Speaker 1: that more in season than out of season? Because obviously
[24:48] Speaker 1: if you're doing it out of season, there's a lot
[24:49] Speaker 1: more variance to what can happen to your roster. You know,
[24:52] Speaker 1: weeks one through eight, you might not even be competitive
[24:54] Speaker 1: by the time, you know, the the that you would
[24:57] Speaker 1: be hypothetically making that move for the veteran.
[24:59] Speaker 2: See you know all the topics that get my neck
[25:01] Speaker 2: hair to stand up. Man, this is this is good
[25:03] Speaker 2: stuff right here. Uh yeah. I mean it's always cheaper
[25:05] Speaker 2: to buy the thirty one year old the thirty two
[25:08] Speaker 2: year old wide receiver in March than it is in
[25:12] Speaker 2: the in you know, November, right, like facts so everybody,
[25:15] Speaker 2: But it's not that much more expensive. Sure, if you're
[25:17] Speaker 2: trying to buy the twenty five year old that's off
[25:21] Speaker 2: the big season, I mean, how is Chris Alaby and
[25:23] Speaker 2: now was he twenty six something like that, that that's
[25:25] Speaker 2: going to be super expensive, right. But you know, Mike Evan,
[25:29] Speaker 2: I keep going back to him, He's been always like
[25:31] Speaker 2: the best example because he's always you know, Derek Henry
[25:34] Speaker 2: is another example, right, because he's an outlier, is defying
[25:37] Speaker 2: uh what the running back age curb. So yeah, I mean,
[25:40] Speaker 2: those guys are always going to be more expensive, but
[25:41] Speaker 2: they're still call you know, if you go after those
[25:43] Speaker 2: guys for the championship run, people are also remember the
[25:47] Speaker 2: other side, the selling side, is going to feel panicked
[25:50] Speaker 2: to sell those guys too, So there's they're not that
[25:53] Speaker 2: if you if you play it right in the right situation,
[25:56] Speaker 2: you know, nobody's good, you're gonna get a better deal
[25:58] Speaker 2: on those guys essentially when they matter most. If I
[26:01] Speaker 2: buy Dereck Henry in March, there's a lot of risk
[26:03] Speaker 2: leading up to that, the NFL Draft injury. But if
[26:06] Speaker 2: I buy him in week twelve, you know, like and
[26:09] Speaker 2: he's healthy, here we go right, Like it's I'm skipping
[26:12] Speaker 2: all the risk part.
[26:14] Speaker 1: Right, and like I feel like sure, Like let's say
[26:16] Speaker 1: that there's an apples apples comparison where like in March,
[26:18] Speaker 1: you're getting Derrick Henry for a second and or you know,
[26:22] Speaker 1: two seconds or whatever, yeah, whatever the case may be,
[26:24] Speaker 1: and then you have to pay a first when when
[26:27] Speaker 1: in season happens, right Like, let's say that's the case.
[26:30] Speaker 1: The thing is, though, is that you're if you're just
[26:32] Speaker 1: comparing those two deals, you're missing all of the information
[26:35] Speaker 1: that you would that you're gathering right for making the
[26:38] Speaker 1: deal later. You now know, oh, I'm competitive, my team
[26:42] Speaker 1: is healthy. I can get a true boost here where
[26:44] Speaker 1: in March. You have no idea if any of that
[26:46] Speaker 1: stuff has happened.
[26:47] Speaker 2: And you know that Derick Henry is having the career again,
[26:52] Speaker 2: we're using him as the example. It could be Breece Hall, right,
[26:55] Speaker 2: if he's still young too, with a new contract. I'm
[26:57] Speaker 2: trying to think of like an older any Well, we'll
[26:58] Speaker 2: use Henry for the for the sake of argument, but
[27:01] Speaker 2: you you already have skipped all the risk and you
[27:05] Speaker 2: know that he's locked in and they're on a run.
[27:07] Speaker 2: I'm just looking down like the list right here all
[27:09] Speaker 2: the I mean David Montgomery, David. Let's say he's having
[27:14] Speaker 2: one of those seasons. Remember the Jamal Williams season where
[27:17] Speaker 2: he just led the league in touchdowns. Let's say he's
[27:19] Speaker 2: having one of those. People are gonna look at twenty
[27:21] Speaker 2: nine year old. They're gonna be like, I don't want
[27:23] Speaker 2: thirty year old David Montgomery on my roster next year,
[27:26] Speaker 2: and right now, the thought of buying someone like that
[27:29] Speaker 2: for a pick, first round pick seems ridiculous. But if
[27:34] Speaker 2: he's a top six, top five r B just based
[27:37] Speaker 2: on touchdowns alone, and also you know now that in
[27:41] Speaker 2: this stretch run does a very good chance that pick's
[27:43] Speaker 2: gonna be one ten, one to eleven, exactly one twelve,
[27:46] Speaker 2: Whereas now if things go wrong, that could be like
[27:49] Speaker 2: one oh three, and then that's that's a horrible trade.
[27:52] Speaker 1: Yeah, I just I just don't see the benefit generally.
[27:55] Speaker 1: You know, I do think that there are some cases
[27:58] Speaker 1: where you almost have to do it because you're league
[28:00] Speaker 1: is just stubborn, and maybe you have some inexperienced managers
[28:02] Speaker 1: where they're just like, you know, I'm not going to
[28:05] Speaker 1: get rid of this guy no matter what, you know,
[28:06] Speaker 1: whatever the case may be. But I think that if
[28:08] Speaker 1: you're in a normal dynasty league, it just it seems
[28:11] Speaker 1: like nine times out of ten, it's just better to
[28:13] Speaker 1: make sure you have all that information. Maybe it's a
[28:15] Speaker 1: more conservative approach, but I also think that it's the
[28:17] Speaker 1: smarter approach because the delta between the two deals that
[28:20] Speaker 1: you would be getting in March versus week twelve just
[28:22] Speaker 1: doesn't seem significant enough in the end, you know, because
[28:25] Speaker 1: there's so much variance to rookie drafts anyway.
[28:27] Speaker 2: And it's also going to depend who has the picks
[28:28] Speaker 2: a lot of times by week eleven, week twelve, just
[28:31] Speaker 2: using like that stretch run. Maybe you know the other
[28:34] Speaker 2: managers that are in competition with you have already burned
[28:36] Speaker 2: their first round pick. Or that's why when you get
[28:40] Speaker 2: like when you're doing a deal and then someone's like, oh,
[28:42] Speaker 2: just give me or you know, I always say just
[28:44] Speaker 2: throw me a third back or something like that, or
[28:46] Speaker 2: even a fourth just something to sweeten the deal, just
[28:49] Speaker 2: in case in a stretch run where I'm competitive with
[28:52] Speaker 2: someone for a player, you know, I have that little extra,
[28:55] Speaker 2: just like cherry on top. So yeah, you know when
[28:57] Speaker 2: people I hear it a lot, third rounders don't matter.
[28:59] Speaker 2: They never I'm not using my third round or to
[29:02] Speaker 2: draft you know, Elijah Surat or you know whoever. You know,
[29:05] Speaker 2: I'm using that to sweeten a deal so I can
[29:08] Speaker 2: get you know, a DeAndre Swift when he's on a
[29:11] Speaker 2: heater in week nine.
[29:14] Speaker 1: As you're doing a startup and I've gotten a lot
[29:16] Speaker 1: of questions about like startup approach and such, and like,
[29:20] Speaker 1: you know, I have my take for sure, but I'm curious,
[29:22] Speaker 1: like last year, for instance, in our league, did did
[29:25] Speaker 1: you go in saying I want a win now team
[29:28] Speaker 1: or was it more reactive to how others were drafting.
[29:30] Speaker 2: Yeah, it's win now, no matter what. Like I said,
[29:32] Speaker 2: I'm always under the assumption that the league is probably
[29:36] Speaker 2: not going to be around in five years. End of
[29:37] Speaker 2: it is. Hopefully I've given my chance to win it
[29:40] Speaker 2: once and if I'm lucky, maybe twice. I just I
[29:44] Speaker 2: love the idea, and I've done a ton of videos
[29:47] Speaker 2: and articles about productive struggle. It's such a cool concept, right,
[29:50] Speaker 2: But that's taking in the kumbaya realistic world that like
[29:54] Speaker 2: this dynasty league's going to be around forever, and it's
[29:56] Speaker 2: fun to do different things, especially different price points. But
[29:59] Speaker 2: if I was like in a thousand dollars entry league,
[30:02] Speaker 2: and I know every year a five hundred dollars league,
[30:04] Speaker 2: and I know every year I have to plunk down
[30:05] Speaker 2: that money, I don't want to keep like contributing. So
[30:08] Speaker 2: it's win now, no matter what. Now. Again, that doesn't
[30:11] Speaker 2: mean just be reckless and draft it will completely like
[30:13] Speaker 2: a redraft team, I want to give myself a few
[30:15] Speaker 2: outs and draft some of the sexy players that people like,
[30:19] Speaker 2: you know, like rookies like Cornel Tate or something like that,
[30:22] Speaker 2: just so I can you know, even someone like Ty
[30:24] Speaker 2: Simpson who seems like a dead pick, I'll get that
[30:26] Speaker 2: guy on a win now team, because it's almost like
[30:30] Speaker 2: having a quasi first round pick in your back pocket.
[30:32] Speaker 1: And the Rams did that in the real NFL.
[30:34] Speaker 2: I know, it's great, right Listen, I've learned my question them. Yeah,
[30:38] Speaker 2: I've learned not to question them whatsoever. But yeah, no,
[30:40] Speaker 2: so my theories. I like, even in our draft, you
[30:43] Speaker 2: went quarterback, quarterback, right, you hammered home. There's nothing worse
[30:46] Speaker 2: than a super flex dynasty league than having to deal
[30:49] Speaker 2: with the quarterback position. It's a nightmare.
[30:51] Speaker 1: Yeah, it is, at the very least. You know, whenever
[30:53] Speaker 1: I do my super flex rankings, which in my opinion
[30:56] Speaker 1: is the hardest type of rankings to do for a
[30:58] Speaker 1: customer because every league just so, especially in redraft, I
[31:01] Speaker 1: mean season long superflex. I've talked about this on shows
[31:04] Speaker 1: I think even recently, But like superflex redraft leagues, you're
[31:08] Speaker 1: gonna get somewhere where ten quarterbacks are off the board
[31:11] Speaker 1: after the first round and a half and you're gonna
[31:13] Speaker 1: get somewhere only three or off the board. You know,
[31:15] Speaker 1: it's so so you have to be very reactive from
[31:17] Speaker 1: that perspective. But I think it's different in Dynasty because
[31:21] Speaker 1: there is this commod it's a commodity. It's this like,
[31:23] Speaker 1: you know, you're playing the market value of these players.
[31:26] Speaker 1: And if the market says something like I know that,
[31:28] Speaker 1: people will sit there and they'll they'll crap on keep
[31:31] Speaker 1: trade cut all day long and they're like, oh, these values,
[31:34] Speaker 1: don't guys. If the market is using that website, I
[31:37] Speaker 1: care about what the website is saying.
[31:39] Speaker 2: It's like the American dollar, right, if the world is
[31:41] Speaker 2: using the American dollar, we got to use the American dollar.
[31:43] Speaker 2: You can say it's it's fragile, it inflates, it's all
[31:46] Speaker 2: this other stuff, but hey, you're right, keep tade cut.
[31:48] Speaker 2: Like again, you may not agree with it, but that's
[31:50] Speaker 2: the agreed upon consensus exactly. Even on the Serious XM show,
[31:54] Speaker 2: on the Dynasty out or that, when we were talking,
[31:56] Speaker 2: I said, consensus rankings. I don't like, you know, I
[32:00] Speaker 2: don't want to promote the site without them being a sponsor.
[32:03] Speaker 2: That's your serious exems it. But they know what I'm
[32:05] Speaker 2: talking about here. When I say consensus Dynasty rankings, that
[32:08] Speaker 2: is something. Why do you think that's become like the
[32:10] Speaker 2: consensus Dynasty rankings. That's a whole conversation.
[32:12] Speaker 1: I don't I don't know. I think it's just because
[32:14] Speaker 1: it's it's structured and algorithmically different, you know. Then like, yeah,
[32:19] Speaker 1: because like DLF, you know, I think probably was that
[32:22] Speaker 1: for a lot of people for a while and that,
[32:24] Speaker 1: but that was all based off of like startup ADP
[32:27] Speaker 1: that they they they ran, you know, like a handful
[32:29] Speaker 1: of startups that that McDowell would do every month. I
[32:32] Speaker 1: think that the difference here is just the the mechanism
[32:36] Speaker 1: in which that's been that's been built, you know. But
[32:40] Speaker 1: but again, like when I do my my dynasty rankings,
[32:42] Speaker 1: like I have sites like that in mind that I'm
[32:46] Speaker 1: checking what the value of these players are, and that
[32:48] Speaker 1: influences my rankings because the value component matters, you know,
[32:51] Speaker 1: And so if my super flex rankings, you know, if
[32:54] Speaker 1: I'm like, yeah, sure I'll be lower on some guys
[32:57] Speaker 1: versus what the market's saying. But if the market's really high.
[33:00] Speaker 1: I got to bump them up a little bit because
[33:02] Speaker 1: that's just the way that Dynasty has played.
[33:04] Speaker 2: You said something a minute ago that I've heard you
[33:08] Speaker 2: say about how the market, every every draft is different
[33:12] Speaker 2: with where the quarterbacks go, and I always I take
[33:15] Speaker 2: that with it. I always say, oh, JJ had this
[33:16] Speaker 2: great point. I think this is one of the smartest
[33:18] Speaker 2: points because I intuitively know it, but I wasn't. I
[33:21] Speaker 2: never heard it articulated. Basically, I've seen drafts this season
[33:25] Speaker 2: super with a Dynasty and Woudary draft where the whole
[33:28] Speaker 2: line is read with quarterbacks except for Bjon and Gibbs,
[33:31] Speaker 2: and then I've seen ones where it's like two or
[33:33] Speaker 2: three guys go and then like Jayden Daniels is a
[33:36] Speaker 2: second round pick, Lamar is like a one to two
[33:38] Speaker 2: turn pick. So, yeah, you're right, it's it's not that,
[33:41] Speaker 2: it's it's how is the league going to value the quarterbacks?
[33:44] Speaker 2: If the first five guys are just like, hey, I'm
[33:46] Speaker 2: taking quarterbacks, I want them locked in, then that's the price,
[33:49] Speaker 2: you know. So I've heard you say it, and I
[33:51] Speaker 2: use it, and I give you credit. So don't worry.
[33:53] Speaker 1: That's awesome. I think I think that like the best
[33:56] Speaker 1: players and drafters are the ones that know how to react, right.
[33:59] Speaker 1: They they know how to look at the board and
[34:02] Speaker 1: they know what's about to come as opposed to what's
[34:04] Speaker 1: already happened. And you have to have a feel for
[34:07] Speaker 1: that based on just experience for sure, based on knowing
[34:10] Speaker 1: your league, et cetera, and really based on knowing tiers, right,
[34:13] Speaker 1: like where that tier really dries up and where you
[34:15] Speaker 1: know you're not gonna be able to get a player later.
[34:17] Speaker 1: But in super flex in particular. Look, you can even
[34:20] Speaker 1: apply this to single quarterback leagues, like in season long, right,
[34:23] Speaker 1: where you know that Josh Allen can give you x
[34:26] Speaker 1: amount of vorp. However you want to measure his advantage
[34:29] Speaker 1: over the rest of the position, right, you know that
[34:31] Speaker 1: he can give you that. But here's the thing. If
[34:33] Speaker 1: you draft Josh Allen in the second round of your
[34:35] Speaker 1: redraft league number one, there's an opportunity cost in doing that, right,
[34:38] Speaker 1: because you're obviously missing out on some really good running backs,
[34:40] Speaker 1: especially this year, some running backs. But if you do
[34:43] Speaker 1: that and then Lamar Jackson goes in round nine, Lamar
[34:47] Speaker 1: Jackson is by far the better value in that situation,
[34:51] Speaker 1: and you just didn't know, being the first person to
[34:54] Speaker 1: take a onesie, especially at quarterback, is one of the
[34:56] Speaker 1: riskiest things you can actually do. Whenever everyone says, oh,
[34:59] Speaker 1: it's safe, bet, we know Josh Allen's gonna finish here,
[35:01] Speaker 1: blah blah blah blah, I agree, Josh Allen's a beast
[35:04] Speaker 1: and he's probably gonna be a top two quarterback this
[35:05] Speaker 1: year because he's done that the last like six years.
[35:07] Speaker 1: But the problem is in your particular draft, from a
[35:10] Speaker 1: cost standpoint, you run the risk and just a totality
[35:15] Speaker 1: what the league looks like perspective, you run the risk
[35:18] Speaker 1: of devaluing that pick when you're the first person to
[35:21] Speaker 1: make that choice.
[35:22] Speaker 2: J J. I can't believe you've been doing this like twelve, fourteen,
[35:25] Speaker 2: fifteen years at this point, ten years and you still
[35:27] Speaker 2: have the same like vigor in your voice when you
[35:30] Speaker 2: talk about I love it.
[35:31] Speaker 1: I love it man. Yes, No, it's what we said
[35:34] Speaker 1: at the top. It's like, this is our job, and
[35:35] Speaker 1: it's like, if you're not passionate about this stuff number one,
[35:39] Speaker 1: like if you're not really really enthusiastic about fantasy pob, well,
[35:42] Speaker 1: someone's gonna take your job. Because this is a competitive space.
[35:45] Speaker 1: Everyone wants to do this and I get it right.
[35:47] Speaker 1: But my gosh, I love this game. Like it's so
[35:50] Speaker 1: because it it to me like as I especially as
[35:53] Speaker 1: I've gotten older, like critical thinking is such a powerful
[35:57] Speaker 1: important part of like the human existence, right, and like
[36:00] Speaker 1: we don't get to do it in you know, every
[36:03] Speaker 1: single thing that we do. And you know, if you're
[36:05] Speaker 1: if you're a parent, right, like you're you're you know,
[36:07] Speaker 1: I got a three year old, I got a seven
[36:09] Speaker 1: year old, and you know, there's some things where they're like,
[36:12] Speaker 1: you know, I have to critically think about how I'm
[36:13] Speaker 1: making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich or something. It's routine, yeah, right,
[36:17] Speaker 1: And there's a lot of that that you go through
[36:18] Speaker 1: without your life. But like I feel very lucky that
[36:21] Speaker 1: we have a a job and a subject that we're
[36:26] Speaker 1: working with where we can get very very deep with
[36:29] Speaker 1: this stuff if you're willing to do so, right.
[36:32] Speaker 2: Yeah, But I again, it's it's very your passions losing
[36:35] Speaker 2: out pageous And when I you know, I referee high
[36:37] Speaker 2: school basketball and a lot of times, like the referees
[36:41] Speaker 2: are out there, they're like frowning and they're arguing and
[36:43] Speaker 2: they're you know, their standoff is that I get coaches
[36:46] Speaker 2: always in them they say you're always like smiling. I said, well,
[36:48] Speaker 2: I'm joining this man.
[36:49] Speaker 1: You know.
[36:50] Speaker 2: It's like yeah, so that and that's that's the kind
[36:52] Speaker 2: of energy I get from you. Now back to back
[36:54] Speaker 2: to what we were talking about, is uh, you know what,
[36:57] Speaker 2: the Josh Allen pick makes sense. It makes sense when
[36:59] Speaker 2: you hate everything else on the board, right exactly. So
[37:01] Speaker 2: you get into the third round and you're like.
[37:03] Speaker 1: Oh, there's a dip.
[37:04] Speaker 2: Yeah right, yeah, I really don't want I mean, I
[37:06] Speaker 2: like DeVante Smith, but you're like, I really don't want
[37:08] Speaker 2: to take Devonte Smith in the third round. I'll just
[37:10] Speaker 2: take Josh Allen because it's thirty eight. It's twenty eight points.
[37:13] Speaker 2: You know, in a game, you know it's safe, ye right, right,
[37:15] Speaker 2: and versus DeVante Smith, I'm gonna find two rounds later,
[37:17] Speaker 2: I'm gonna get DeVante Adams or whoever. You know.
[37:20] Speaker 1: The really frustrating part with this is that in a
[37:22] Speaker 1: in a more casual league where you know there's going
[37:26] Speaker 1: to be some falling values at running back and wide
[37:29] Speaker 1: receiver because they're you know, people aren't doing the same research,
[37:31] Speaker 1: you know, et cetera, et cetera. That's actually when you
[37:34] Speaker 1: probably should go earlier round quarterback and like take that
[37:38] Speaker 1: shot because because number one, you know, this is what's
[37:40] Speaker 1: going on in Best Ball right now too, where the
[37:43] Speaker 1: back end QB ones, the high end QB two's are
[37:45] Speaker 1: going way earlier than they've gone historically. I mean, it
[37:49] Speaker 1: started to happen last year in Best Ball, but them
[37:51] Speaker 1: going earlier means that the higher end quarterbacks actually become
[37:54] Speaker 1: more valuable, right, because if if you get Josh Allen,
[37:57] Speaker 1: and you know, the absolute inverse of what I was
[37:59] Speaker 1: talking about, if you get Josh Allen in round three
[38:02] Speaker 1: and then all of a sudden up until brock Purty
[38:06] Speaker 1: is gone at the end of round five, then you've
[38:08] Speaker 1: got a massive value in drafting Josh Allen there, right,
[38:11] Speaker 1: because people are spending almost you know, very close to
[38:14] Speaker 1: the same kind of draft capital and allocation on brock Purty,
[38:18] Speaker 1: who is fine, he's not Josh Allen as Josh Allen
[38:22] Speaker 1: and what you got with Allen, So like it's about
[38:24] Speaker 1: you know, it's just like you want to go into
[38:26] Speaker 1: a more casual environment and be like, oh, I don't
[38:28] Speaker 1: need to get quarterback because it's going to be easy
[38:29] Speaker 1: to pick one off late, which I do think lay
[38:31] Speaker 1: around quarterback is going to probably be a pretty good
[38:33] Speaker 1: strategy this year. But like you know, it's just a
[38:36] Speaker 1: it's so, it's just there's a lot of that like
[38:39] Speaker 1: context and individualized like thinking about that particular league that
[38:44] Speaker 1: needs to go on for it to dictate what your
[38:46] Speaker 1: draft strategy really should be.
[38:48] Speaker 2: Yeah, you just said this, and I'm looking at the
[38:50] Speaker 2: ADP of the quarterbacks, and the elite quarterbacks are about
[38:55] Speaker 2: two to three rounds cheaper than they've ever been, right,
[38:58] Speaker 2: maybe sometimes in some cases four. But the floor the
[39:01] Speaker 2: price of the depth of the quarterbacks, and that's a
[39:05] Speaker 2: function of after the first three or four quarterbacks that
[39:08] Speaker 2: no one's really seeing a difference between, or maybe even deeper.
[39:11] Speaker 2: Like someone says, yeah, I do like Dak, I do
[39:14] Speaker 2: like Justin Herbert. But if I can get the spike
[39:17] Speaker 2: weeks from a Baker Mayfield and Tyler Shuck, it's fine,
[39:21] Speaker 2: especially in bestball where you never have to call the shot, right,
[39:24] Speaker 2: Like that's the worst part about fantasy football. And you
[39:27] Speaker 2: get a gazillion start sick questions. It's like do I
[39:30] Speaker 2: start Jordan Love with the great matchup or do I
[39:33] Speaker 2: start you know, Jackson Dart who's playing a tough defense,
[39:36] Speaker 2: You're like, I have no idea, like, and then you're
[39:39] Speaker 2: just kind of guessing, and then you give people all
[39:41] Speaker 2: these caveats and percentages. But I think that's what happens
[39:44] Speaker 2: when you don't have to call the shot and you
[39:46] Speaker 2: just get Sam Darnold's twenty seven point game. You know,
[39:50] Speaker 2: I think that's the advantage and that's why. And also
[39:51] Speaker 2: remember even though we call them onesie positions tight end
[39:55] Speaker 2: in quarterback, that in best ball, it essentially is a
[39:58] Speaker 2: two quarterback league, right, everyone needs minimum tea.
[40:01] Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, like the position dries up right like
[40:04] Speaker 1: that you need to the panic. The panic in best
[40:08] Speaker 1: ball is really I think what drives the you know,
[40:11] Speaker 1: the high end to mid range QB two up in
[40:14] Speaker 1: price is that in our season long league, who cares
[40:17] Speaker 1: those guys are going to go undrafted? Like Baker Mayfield
[40:20] Speaker 1: in a regular home league this year is not going
[40:22] Speaker 1: to get drafted more than likely, you know, in a
[40:24] Speaker 1: lot of those leagues. Now you got to react if like,
[40:26] Speaker 1: cause I'm gonna you know, I'm in a home league,
[40:29] Speaker 1: a local league here that's fourteen teams, and I know
[40:31] Speaker 1: that people are going to take back up quarterbacks, so
[40:33] Speaker 1: I have to at least be a little bit careful
[40:35] Speaker 1: about getting too out of control with you know, not
[40:37] Speaker 1: drafting a quarterback because wave the waiver wires actually actually
[40:40] Speaker 1: is thin. But in ninety five percent of leagues, like
[40:43] Speaker 1: those guys won't go. But in best Ball right now,
[40:46] Speaker 1: it's it's a completely different beast, which is you know,
[40:49] Speaker 1: do you have you found like since you're doing the
[40:51] Speaker 1: radio stuff and you're talking to people and there's it's
[40:55] Speaker 1: just a much different dynamic than what I'm probably experiencing.
[41:00] Speaker 1: Have you found that it's been a little bit obnoxious
[41:03] Speaker 1: about how best Ball has seeped into the way that
[41:05] Speaker 1: people are looking at season long as well. Has that
[41:08] Speaker 1: been a thing that you've or has it? Has it
[41:09] Speaker 1: been pretty separate? No?
[41:10] Speaker 2: No, you nailed it, man, you nailed it because best
[41:13] Speaker 2: Ball is by the way, when you're talking about like
[41:15] Speaker 2: just like traditional leagues, is that Yahoo did a study
[41:18] Speaker 2: and even in like seasonal leagues, one point nine quarterbacks
[41:21] Speaker 2: per team on Yahoo leagues. So again, yeah, I use
[41:24] Speaker 2: Yahoo because that's where a lot of like, let's say,
[41:26] Speaker 2: people that are even more casual about it, right Yeah,
[41:28] Speaker 2: So yeah, and with best ball is seeped in and
[41:30] Speaker 2: best ball is like the greatest way to prepare for
[41:33] Speaker 2: your season long draft. But what I think was, and
[41:36] Speaker 2: guys like you were talking about this doing on videos
[41:39] Speaker 2: and on content, is that it really has two different games,
[41:42] Speaker 2: right and yea, but I mean the players go in
[41:45] Speaker 2: a similar order, but the roster construction is a little
[41:48] Speaker 2: bit different. But yeah, right, man, the way we play
[41:51] Speaker 2: best ball. See, and I fell into this about four
[41:53] Speaker 2: years ago because I've always been you know, not by
[41:56] Speaker 2: the way, when I used to say I played in
[41:57] Speaker 2: fifty best ball leagues, that used to be a lot.
[41:59] Speaker 2: Now yeah, now I'm like, you know, I barely play.
[42:03] Speaker 2: It's funny. But you know, the way I was playing basketball,
[42:06] Speaker 2: I was bringing into redraft and because the strategy is
[42:09] Speaker 2: so different that you have access to the waiver wire
[42:12] Speaker 2: and that you have to start since it was screwing
[42:14] Speaker 2: up my redraft leagues and I was losing for a
[42:16] Speaker 2: little while. And again just it so, yes, we are
[42:19] Speaker 2: seeing those two types of strategies merge when they really
[42:22] Speaker 2: should be talked about as two separate things.
[42:24] Speaker 1: I think it's on us as analysts to make sure
[42:26] Speaker 1: we're making that separation for people too, and I get annoyed,
[42:30] Speaker 1: Like straight up, I'm like, I'll tell the analysts sometimes too,
[42:33] Speaker 1: I'm like, bro, you're talking about this as if like
[42:36] Speaker 1: this is the strategy that people are are deploying and
[42:40] Speaker 1: using in season long. But it's not the same. It's
[42:43] Speaker 1: not the same at all. Like you can look, I
[42:45] Speaker 1: think best ball is really great for understanding you know,
[42:48] Speaker 1: like you said, within the position where guys should go,
[42:50] Speaker 1: and like like you know, like where guys are generally ranked,
[42:53] Speaker 1: Like you could probably because best ball's pretty sharp, especially
[42:55] Speaker 1: this time of year, you could probably use Bestball ADP
[42:58] Speaker 1: as straight up positional ranking and have an edge right
[43:01] Speaker 1: over what you know, your your buddy from accounting who
[43:04] Speaker 1: doesn't do any research is going to show up in
[43:06] Speaker 1: August with some list that is just very generic and
[43:09] Speaker 1: doesn't help isn't very helpful. But yeah, where these guys
[43:12] Speaker 1: go overall is really the problem.
[43:14] Speaker 2: Yeah, And I think also I've always adopted that just say,
[43:17] Speaker 2: like in a contained best ball because a lot when
[43:18] Speaker 2: we tow best ball now there's also everyone assumes it's
[43:21] Speaker 2: these giant contests where there's hundreds of thousands. I still
[43:24] Speaker 2: do a lot of best ball where it's like, you know,
[43:26] Speaker 2: the smaller groups. I play in the big tournaments too. Yeah,
[43:29] Speaker 2: but like we're only the top two get a cash reward.
[43:32] Speaker 2: And I still think in those type of leagues you've
[43:33] Speaker 2: got to push up the running backs that definitely have
[43:36] Speaker 2: jobs because you don't the voluable wide receivers. You don't
[43:39] Speaker 2: want them in your traditional home league. But it doesn't
[43:41] Speaker 2: matter as much of the most exactly, you never have
[43:43] Speaker 2: to call the shot. What's the worst See, what's the
[43:45] Speaker 2: worst part about fantasy football. I've said it before is deciding,
[43:49] Speaker 2: you know which wide receiver three and four to choose from.
[43:51] Speaker 2: Like when someone says, hey, should I start Michael Pittman
[43:54] Speaker 2: this week or Matthew Golden, Right, I have no idea,
[43:57] Speaker 2: but yeah, I don't have to call that shot. But
[43:59] Speaker 2: that's I'm taking like a Breese hole in round two
[44:02] Speaker 2: in best Ball if I'm picking towards the end of
[44:05] Speaker 2: the round because I just want running backs I know
[44:07] Speaker 2: have jobs, redown work rule, you know that type of stuff.
[44:12] Speaker 2: All Right.
[44:12] Speaker 1: I want to go through some scenarios across the league
[44:15] Speaker 1: right now where we have teammates that are being drafted
[44:18] Speaker 1: relatively close to each other, and I want to see
[44:21] Speaker 1: how you feel one way or another about these guys,
[44:23] Speaker 1: because I think this is a you know this number one.
[44:26] Speaker 1: This is a question Like every week when I ask
[44:27] Speaker 1: for mailback questions, it's always scenarios like this where they're like,
[44:30] Speaker 1: you know, someone's like, which player out of this backfield
[44:33] Speaker 1: or which player you know amongst this wide receiver room
[44:35] Speaker 1: do you like more? So we'll start out with probably
[44:38] Speaker 1: you know, one of the bigger ones this year is
[44:40] Speaker 1: Luthor Burden versus Romadounsda.
[44:42] Speaker 2: How sick is it going to be when either one
[44:44] Speaker 2: of these guys has a good week one? And because
[44:47] Speaker 2: this this is like split the country, right, I mean,
[44:50] Speaker 2: politics unites us more than the Luther versus Room thing.
[44:53] Speaker 2: At this point, I'm team Room, you know, and all
[44:57] Speaker 2: of the under the hood smart metrics favorite Luther Burden here,
[45:00] Speaker 2: but I don't know, he just had a longer chemistry
[45:03] Speaker 2: with the Roman Dune Sam talking about Kaba Williams. Of course,
[45:06] Speaker 2: now he wasn't Ben Johnson's pick. He inherited him, and
[45:08] Speaker 2: I do think that means something. You know, Luther and
[45:11] Speaker 2: Colston were his picks. But I mean those first four
[45:14] Speaker 2: weeks before the jury, they would look good. What was
[45:16] Speaker 2: he about a fifteen eighteen point three? Yeah, so, man,
[45:20] Speaker 2: I'm also a little biased. I made a bad trade
[45:22] Speaker 2: where I acquired Rome, so I kind of need this
[45:24] Speaker 2: to happen or else. You know, a lot of things
[45:25] Speaker 2: are gonna go wrong with me. But I'm scared to
[45:28] Speaker 2: death to draft Luthor Burden. I'm scared to death not
[45:31] Speaker 2: to draft Luthor Burton.
[45:32] Speaker 1: That's I think that's a healthy way to look at it.
[45:34] Speaker 1: Like it really like comes down to, like, you know,
[45:37] Speaker 1: if you're in a shallower league where you start two
[45:41] Speaker 1: wide receivers, two running backs, one tight end, no flex
[45:45] Speaker 1: let's say, you know, just something like really really shallow.
[45:48] Speaker 1: I think that going after players like Luthor Burden is easier, yeah,
[45:51] Speaker 1: because you're not gonna have to rely on them and
[45:53] Speaker 1: you can just shoot for the ceiling. Like I mean,
[45:55] Speaker 1: I'm a burden guy in general, so like I'm just
[45:57] Speaker 1: gonna get them. But there's a very clear downside case here,
[46:01] Speaker 1: like very very clear downside case. Are you straight up
[46:05] Speaker 1: going Rome over Burden or is this a cost thing?
[46:08] Speaker 2: I don't have to write like I don't and it's
[46:10] Speaker 2: so hard for me to say, oh if they if
[46:12] Speaker 2: you have to pick in a vacuum, which one would
[46:13] Speaker 2: you pick? And it's it's I just don't have to
[46:16] Speaker 2: make that choice. But I mean, yeah, if I'm forced
[46:19] Speaker 2: to and you're asking me a question, I'm going to
[46:20] Speaker 2: say Rome. But I don't feel good about this pick
[46:23] Speaker 2: at all. It's like, it's terrible. Now. This reminds me
[46:25] Speaker 2: a lot of Trevion Henderson last year. Right, all of
[46:27] Speaker 2: a sudden, he's a fourth round pick as a rookie,
[46:29] Speaker 2: then he was a third and then the NFFC they
[46:31] Speaker 2: were taking him in the second round. I was like,
[46:33] Speaker 2: oh my god, this is crazy. I was getting scared
[46:35] Speaker 2: that people that plunking down fifteen hundred dollars for drafts
[46:37] Speaker 2: are taking him. Then I just don't go with the
[46:39] Speaker 2: one two turn. So I'm getting that same FuMO confusion
[46:43] Speaker 2: about Luthor Burden. But yeah, I guess straight up, I'll
[46:45] Speaker 2: take Rome, but I have no confidence in that.
[46:47] Speaker 1: Yeah, I think there's a very real chance by the
[46:49] Speaker 1: time August hits Luthor Burden is like a two to
[46:51] Speaker 1: three turn type player, you know what I mean. Like,
[46:53] Speaker 1: and that scares the crap out of me as one
[46:56] Speaker 1: of the biggest Burden truthers out there, because I loved
[46:58] Speaker 1: him as a prospect, you know, you know all of that.
[47:01] Speaker 1: To be clear, I don't think that in all of
[47:03] Speaker 1: these scenarios because like I don't have a player, like
[47:06] Speaker 1: I still like drafting a Dunsay, you know, I still
[47:09] Speaker 1: think that a Dunsay is a pretty good pick because
[47:11] Speaker 1: I recognize all of the different outcomes that can happen
[47:14] Speaker 1: with the Bears offense this year, or at least I'm
[47:16] Speaker 1: hoping to recognize, and I think that there is an
[47:18] Speaker 1: outcome where Adunza is a better player and more productive
[47:21] Speaker 1: player than what the markets suggesting.
[47:23] Speaker 2: And you notice JJ, like when you pick Luther Burden
[47:25] Speaker 2: in a draft room, you get the hipster high five pick,
[47:27] Speaker 2: you get a good pick, you get the good pick
[47:29] Speaker 2: in the chat. When you pick a Dunsay, it's like, yeah, next,
[47:32] Speaker 2: nobody's you know, nobody's gonna congratulate you in and say
[47:35] Speaker 2: good pick in the chat.
[47:36] Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, do you feel the same way then about
[47:40] Speaker 1: Brian Thomas versus Parker Washington? Is this is this a
[47:43] Speaker 1: very similar situation for you?
[47:44] Speaker 2: This is the same thing except that BTJ. Oh, yeah,
[47:47] Speaker 2: you're right, it really is the same thing, except BTJ
[47:50] Speaker 2: just has like you know, stink all over him at
[47:52] Speaker 2: this point, right, and.
[47:54] Speaker 1: Dounsay had the split last year.
[47:56] Speaker 2: Right, And Parker Washington also has the anchor pulling him
[47:59] Speaker 2: back underneath based on like where that he was what
[48:02] Speaker 2: a Day three real NFL pick, and that you know, listen,
[48:06] Speaker 2: but all of the you know, if you if you're
[48:08] Speaker 2: a coach speak player, I tend to favor coaching, Like
[48:11] Speaker 2: when certain coaches say things, it seems like Parker Washington's in,
[48:14] Speaker 2: but there's a lot more I would say, it's a
[48:16] Speaker 2: lot more crowded, but there's still a lot of options
[48:18] Speaker 2: over in Chicago too. I think Parker Washington, given that
[48:21] Speaker 2: his wizzy about a fifth or probably sixth round pick
[48:23] Speaker 2: at this point. I've seen him go in the six
[48:25] Speaker 2: ye I've taken him in the sixth or maybe seventh
[48:26] Speaker 2: if I got lucky. I think that that's more like
[48:29] Speaker 2: you can swallow that cost a little bit to get burden.
[48:32] Speaker 2: You just said, like there's no way Parker Washington's going
[48:34] Speaker 2: up to the two three turn.
[48:35] Speaker 1: It's just happening.
[48:36] Speaker 2: Yeah, So it's a little bit of a different conversation
[48:39] Speaker 2: because you have your your core five players already set
[48:42] Speaker 2: when you drive Parker Washington so I want to take
[48:44] Speaker 2: the gamble on Parker Washington. I like what I saw,
[48:47] Speaker 2: I like all the forward momentum with him, and you
[48:50] Speaker 2: know who likes some Trevor Lawrence. That two targets him.
[48:53] Speaker 2: So I'm more bullish on the success of Washington than
[48:57] Speaker 2: I would be on Burden, even though there's more upside.
[48:59] Speaker 2: Clearly with Luther Burden and Brian Thomas, he seems like
[49:03] Speaker 2: he's going to be one of the best values if
[49:04] Speaker 2: he hits this year.
[49:05] Speaker 1: So I want to kind of move it's further down
[49:08] Speaker 1: the list, But I do think it's an interesting conversation
[49:10] Speaker 1: because there was a little bit of a discussion. Dwayne
[49:12] Speaker 1: McFarlane sent a tweet about Michael Wilson versus in Parker
[49:15] Speaker 1: Washington over the weekend or like late last week. So
[49:19] Speaker 1: we have Marvin Harrison Junior and Michael Wilson. Michael Wilson
[49:23] Speaker 1: has been falling a little bit, so there's a little
[49:24] Speaker 1: bit more of a gap than there was like like
[49:26] Speaker 1: two or three months ago in their ADP. Do you
[49:29] Speaker 1: have a strong lean there and do you feel like
[49:31] Speaker 1: the Michael Wilson situation is very like Parker Washington or
[49:36] Speaker 1: do you think there are some differences there.
[49:38] Speaker 2: Well, this is a whole new regime in Arizona now, right.
[49:40] Speaker 2: It's like so that this is similar to where I
[49:42] Speaker 2: said about Romadoonda, where they're happy to have Marvin Harrison,
[49:45] Speaker 2: but they didn't take right. There is a difference when
[49:48] Speaker 2: you inherit someone versus when you made the pick, and
[49:51] Speaker 2: the same obviously for Michael Wilson. But man, I thought
[49:54] Speaker 2: I was being contrarian in early draft season taking Michael
[49:57] Speaker 2: Wilson ahead of Marvin Harrison Junior. But it seems like
[50:00] Speaker 2: that that this is another one of those fifty to
[50:02] Speaker 2: fifty splits. I still think, you know, Marvin Harrison, you
[50:05] Speaker 2: have to look at the pedigree. It just it can't
[50:08] Speaker 2: be this bad the guy was, you know. I just
[50:10] Speaker 2: it's a lesson learned in Dynasty two. JJ guy was
[50:13] Speaker 2: wide receiver four before it took a snap man. Yeah,
[50:15] Speaker 2: sure that was a mistake, But I think I would
[50:18] Speaker 2: still leave Marv lean Marv. But man, have I I've
[50:22] Speaker 2: gone back and forth with these guys too, and it
[50:24] Speaker 2: seems like, you know, you can kind of get them both.
[50:26] Speaker 2: They go similar pricing. But if you're drafting on the
[50:29] Speaker 2: hook and you're creating these stacks them. You can try
[50:31] Speaker 2: to get them both, but Marv is the answer.
[50:33] Speaker 1: Yeah, I get so worried about Michael Wilton. My comp
[50:36] Speaker 1: for Michael Wilson not as like a player, but just
[50:39] Speaker 1: like a season comp of what he did in twenty
[50:41] Speaker 1: twenty five is twenty twenty four Jerry Judy.
[50:44] Speaker 2: Oh, that's good.
[50:44] Speaker 1: That's my fear.
[50:45] Speaker 2: Right, It's good.
[50:46] Speaker 1: Because because we saw the split with Judy and Winston
[50:50] Speaker 1: right that year Jameis Winston and we saw Judy play
[50:54] Speaker 1: have better numbers when Cedric Tillman was out that year,
[50:58] Speaker 1: like when when injuries around him occurred, that's when he
[51:01] Speaker 1: saw some more of his spiked weeks. And the same
[51:04] Speaker 1: thing kind of happened with Michael Wilson last year with
[51:06] Speaker 1: Marvin Harrison Junior, like Michael Wilson with Jacoby Like I
[51:09] Speaker 1: think the split has always been for people, Michael Wilson
[51:11] Speaker 1: with Jacoby Brissett. But really, when Jacoby Brissett was under
[51:15] Speaker 1: center and Marvin Harrison ran eighty percent or more of
[51:17] Speaker 1: their routes, so he was not you know, didn't have
[51:19] Speaker 1: appendicitis and all this other these other issues. There was
[51:21] Speaker 1: only three games of that happening last year where Marvin
[51:23] Speaker 1: Harrison Junior ran eighty percent or more of their routes
[51:26] Speaker 1: with Jacoby Brissett under center, and then obviously Michael Wilson playing.
[51:29] Speaker 1: Michael Wilson didn't score double digit points in any of
[51:31] Speaker 1: those games.
[51:32] Speaker 2: Yeah, that's revealing.
[51:34] Speaker 1: I do think Michael Wilson is like better than what
[51:37] Speaker 1: we expect, you know, what we saw from him the
[51:40] Speaker 1: first handful of years of his career. With that being said,
[51:44] Speaker 1: the difference to me with him and Parker Washington. This
[51:47] Speaker 1: is what Dwayne was kind of talking about, because Dwayne
[51:49] Speaker 1: brought up very very uh like in a smart way,
[51:53] Speaker 1: like you should bring this up, is that when we've
[51:55] Speaker 1: seen these players who haven't done anything historically and then
[51:57] Speaker 1: they have these spiked you know, chunks of season, how
[52:00] Speaker 1: do they then perform? And and Dwayne was basically saying like, hey, guys,
[52:03] Speaker 1: these guys usually suck the next year, you know, like
[52:05] Speaker 1: they're they're usually it's usually usually is a blip. And
[52:08] Speaker 1: my point with Parker Washington was that because look, this
[52:13] Speaker 1: isn't an anti Brian Thomas take.
[52:15] Speaker 2: But you're pro Parker, right, You're pro Parker Washington.
[52:17] Speaker 1: I think that that Parker Washington the difference between him
[52:20] Speaker 1: and Michael Wilson is that his peripherals with Jacoby Myers
[52:25] Speaker 1: and Brian Thomas playing last year were excellent. All like
[52:29] Speaker 1: like I made, I made the comment that the difference
[52:31] Speaker 1: between Parker Washington and Michael Wilson's that they both needed
[52:34] Speaker 1: an injury for something more to happen.
[52:36] Speaker 2: Right.
[52:36] Speaker 1: The difference though, is that Parker Washington, the injury to
[52:39] Speaker 1: Travis Hunter was what allowed the Jags to realize what
[52:43] Speaker 1: they had in Parker Washington, whereas the injury to Marvin
[52:46] Speaker 1: Harrison Junior allowed Michael Wilson to just get gobbles and
[52:50] Speaker 1: gobbles of volume and he wasn't efficient. His yards pro
[52:53] Speaker 1: out run wasn't very strong last year, you know, it
[52:55] Speaker 1: wasn't that that amazing. Whereas Parker Washington, in a really
[52:59] Speaker 1: good ecosystem and environment with a good competition, was thriving
[53:02] Speaker 1: at times, you know, and he had a really good
[53:04] Speaker 1: yards per out run rate and he was really so
[53:06] Speaker 1: like that backbone makes me feel more comfortable with Parker
[53:08] Speaker 1: Washington than Michael Wilson, but it scares me too because obviously,
[53:12] Speaker 1: you know, Michael Wilson showed us that he had a
[53:14] Speaker 1: really high ceiling It's just that I'm trying to just
[53:16] Speaker 1: be as rational as I can with that that Wilson situation.
[53:20] Speaker 2: See, this goes back to what we talked about in
[53:22] Speaker 2: the beginning of this podcast, where you know you have
[53:25] Speaker 2: to have a process, but be willing like to when
[53:28] Speaker 2: there's nuances involved. Now, Dwayne made the factual statement that
[53:32] Speaker 2: these guys usually just go off the map after they
[53:35] Speaker 2: have a spike month, right, and you're set and then
[53:38] Speaker 2: you kind of logic it out where this is why
[53:41] Speaker 2: Parker Washington doesn't fit that exact pattern right now.
[53:44] Speaker 1: Right, so as much at least, you know, like I
[53:46] Speaker 1: can certainly see like I think that the answer to
[53:48] Speaker 1: a lot of the Jacksonville stuff is to draft Trevor Lawrence,
[53:51] Speaker 1: you know, like like just capture it that way, or
[53:53] Speaker 1: if you're playing beast ball, get one of these guys
[53:56] Speaker 1: and as many drafts as you can, or stack them
[53:58] Speaker 1: whatever I think it's gonna be. I'm gonna get my
[54:00] Speaker 1: exposure and maybe this is a cop out, but I'm
[54:03] Speaker 1: gonna get a lot more my exposure to the Jags
[54:05] Speaker 1: wide receiver room in best ball than I will in
[54:07] Speaker 1: season long, because I think it could be a headache
[54:09] Speaker 1: week to.
[54:09] Speaker 2: Week you don't have to call the shot, right yeah, right, yeah,
[54:12] Speaker 2: I'm even getting some of the Travis Hunter stuff too.
[54:15] Speaker 2: I'm you know, yeah, I was get that's a pick
[54:17] Speaker 2: you get laughed at when you mean you just going
[54:19] Speaker 2: back to the Cardinals wide receivers. You're assuming Jacoby Pressett
[54:23] Speaker 2: week one starter here, like, I'm.
[54:25] Speaker 1: Not that's the other too, all right, Yeah, that's that's
[54:28] Speaker 1: certainly another part of the variance of of that profile.
[54:30] Speaker 1: And I think Carson Beck's gonna start at some point
[54:33] Speaker 1: this year, right, Like, I think there's a better chance
[54:35] Speaker 1: of not right, what's.
[54:36] Speaker 2: The under over on games started in JJ Zacharison's sportsbook
[54:41] Speaker 2: for Carson Beck.
[54:41] Speaker 1: Starts, I would say five and a half.
[54:46] Speaker 2: I was gonna say four and a half. I'll take
[54:47] Speaker 2: I'll take the over on four and a half, and
[54:49] Speaker 2: I'll still take that. I'd say probably half the season, right.
[54:53] Speaker 1: Yeah, around, Like, I think that there's a very real
[54:54] Speaker 1: possibility that happens. And you're already running into the issue
[54:57] Speaker 1: right now with the contract stuff with Persett, so like
[54:59] Speaker 1: there's to me, there's there's you know, like like that
[55:02] Speaker 1: was why I think even our in our four quarterback league,
[55:05] Speaker 1: I took Carson Beck and like this he held to like
[55:07] Speaker 1: the second round in that league, and I I I
[55:10] Speaker 1: grabbed him because there's going to be an opportunity for
[55:12] Speaker 1: him to do something. And even those players because like
[55:14] Speaker 1: Arizona realistically is probably gonna be bad this year, then
[55:17] Speaker 1: they'll have a high pick next year and more than
[55:19] Speaker 1: likely going to take a quarterback. Like that's that's the
[55:21] Speaker 1: like we can all see.
[55:22] Speaker 2: This quite likely, right, But the Tyler Shook outcome is
[55:25] Speaker 2: like is possible to it?
[55:27] Speaker 1: Could that could happen? Or Carson Beck shows something and
[55:30] Speaker 1: now they have a trade asset or something that they
[55:32] Speaker 1: could they could deal, you know, like dangle and try
[55:35] Speaker 1: to try to work with so like yes, and but
[55:38] Speaker 1: like that would be Like I think Carson Beck is
[55:40] Speaker 1: a problem for Marvin Harrison Junior and Michael Wilson and
[55:42] Speaker 1: Jeremiah Love and what that Arizona offense might do. I've
[55:46] Speaker 1: leaned Marvin Harrison Junior more comfortably, just because at least
[55:49] Speaker 1: we can tell a story that they used them poorly
[55:51] Speaker 1: and he had the back roone like you said, of
[55:53] Speaker 1: just being a really like you know, he obviously hasn't
[55:56] Speaker 1: looked up the expectation he's been okay enough, he's been
[56:00] Speaker 1: He's he's played more like a mid to late first
[56:03] Speaker 1: round pick, you know, as a as a player so
[56:05] Speaker 1: far and not the elite you know what we expect
[56:08] Speaker 1: out of a top five pick. But you know what
[56:10] Speaker 1: if they unlock him and what it like, there's there's
[56:12] Speaker 1: at least more of that pedigree that makes me feel
[56:14] Speaker 1: more comfortable about drafting him.
[56:16] Speaker 2: Isn't there a fifteen to twenty percent chance that Carson
[56:18] Speaker 2: Beck is good enough where the Arizona gets the third
[56:20] Speaker 2: pick and the quarterbacks go one two and they take
[56:23] Speaker 2: Jeremiah Smith. You know, something possible.
[56:25] Speaker 1: It's possible. Yeah, there are other outs, which is why
[56:28] Speaker 1: I wanted to throw I mean in my super flex leagues,
[56:31] Speaker 1: especially in this in rookie drafts this year, where the
[56:33] Speaker 1: running backs and wide receivers were just weak. You know,
[56:36] Speaker 1: you get to the second round, I'm you know, most
[56:39] Speaker 1: of these second rounds, especially mid to late second round,
[56:42] Speaker 1: I'm taking car I have a lot of Carson Beck
[56:44] Speaker 1: just because I don't think he's gonna hit. It's just
[56:46] Speaker 1: this is the this is the game theory side of things,
[56:49] Speaker 1: you know.
[56:49] Speaker 2: Yeah, I think you and I have previously talked to it,
[56:52] Speaker 2: but I would take Carson Beck in a rookie draft
[56:54] Speaker 2: as high as one twelve.
[56:55] Speaker 1: Which I understand. Yeah, I get the logic because.
[56:59] Speaker 2: The minute he stawt there's something you could do there,
[57:01] Speaker 2: And lord forbid, he's got a two fifty and two
[57:04] Speaker 2: with no interceptions in that first game. Now you're talking
[57:06] Speaker 2: about a top twenty dynasty quarterback. But they'll be pushedback
[57:10] Speaker 2: because if Arizona doesn't have a lot of wins, then
[57:12] Speaker 2: you're right that there's always that threat that he's gonna
[57:14] Speaker 2: get Josh Rosend.
[57:16] Speaker 1: Yeah, and I think it's very obvious us saying this,
[57:18] Speaker 1: like that's not the likely outcome. You know, the likely
[57:21] Speaker 1: outcome is he sucks or he doesn't. You know, he
[57:23] Speaker 1: just doesn't do much. But that's that's the likely outcome
[57:26] Speaker 1: for a lot of.
[57:27] Speaker 2: The second round wide receivers anyway, And he's a likely
[57:29] Speaker 2: outcome for even high pedigree quarterbacks that they're more likely
[57:32] Speaker 2: to fail than not like cam Ward, Like if he
[57:35] Speaker 2: wasn't the one O one, you'd be like, ee right.
[57:37] Speaker 1: Now, exactly exactly, all right, let's go to Pittsburgh and
[57:40] Speaker 1: look at that backfield. I'm curious how you look at
[57:42] Speaker 1: at Jalen Warren versus Rico Dauda. We'll get a couple
[57:44] Speaker 1: more of these in.
[57:45] Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, super quick? Is that I'm I'm nervous about
[57:48] Speaker 2: Jalen Warren. He got he was supposed to be the
[57:51] Speaker 2: alpha guy last year, gets thrown out of the way
[57:53] Speaker 2: by Kenny Gamwell more or less, who's an efficiency monster? Right,
[57:57] Speaker 2: Jayla Warren's a good player, like you want him. He's
[57:59] Speaker 2: perfectly good. But Rico Dawdell, they bring him in, they
[58:01] Speaker 2: don't bring in anybody else. Of note, Rico daddell familiarity
[58:07] Speaker 2: with Mike McCarthy trusts him. Right. So I would say
[58:10] Speaker 2: that this is probably a classic split and that both
[58:14] Speaker 2: guys are solid picks. But you know, I want Rico
[58:17] Speaker 2: Dawdell here, and I think that the market mostly agrees.
[58:20] Speaker 2: He's more likely to have more touchdowns, I would say,
[58:23] Speaker 2: more carries. And again, though Jalen WARN's a good player,
[58:26] Speaker 2: but every time we think it's Jalen Warren season, it's like, oh, yeah,
[58:29] Speaker 2: but this happens. Oh yeah, but but this happens. So
[58:31] Speaker 2: although Jalen Warren, I know he's got his fans, and
[58:34] Speaker 2: I'd be happy to have him on my team. This
[58:36] Speaker 2: is Rico Doubtley. I think we can. Rico Dadda was
[58:39] Speaker 2: like a week winner last year. I don't remember ever
[58:41] Speaker 2: saying Jalen Warren week winner.
[58:43] Speaker 1: And then you mentioned Kenneth Gainwell. I think I saw
[58:46] Speaker 1: an interesting take from you on social media. Let's hear
[58:49] Speaker 1: that the Bucky Irving versus Kenneth Gainwell.
[58:51] Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean Kenneth Gainwell was about four point seven
[58:55] Speaker 2: Tommy touches the football. Do you remember that game that
[58:58] Speaker 2: nobody knew that he was going to be replacing Jillen
[59:01] Speaker 2: Moore and it was an international game. You woke up
[59:03] Speaker 2: and Kenneth Gainwell basically broke fantasy broke dfs. Bucky Irving
[59:08] Speaker 2: was a fourth round pick who had a good year,
[59:10] Speaker 2: very similar to like Damian Pierce a couple of years ago.
[59:12] Speaker 2: I like Bucky Irving, but man, there was questions last
[59:15] Speaker 2: year when he was going. Bucky Irving was going in
[59:17] Speaker 2: the second round of fantasy drafts. Could he hold up?
[59:20] Speaker 2: The answer was no. I like to see these guys
[59:22] Speaker 2: do it. Who's Bucky Irving right? Like? He had his
[59:24] Speaker 2: best year when Liam Combe was there. Look, then Liam
[59:27] Speaker 2: Cohen goes to Jacksonville and Trevor Traves ETN has his
[59:31] Speaker 2: good year. Bucky Irving's great, good player. But Kenneth Gainwell
[59:34] Speaker 2: was given the motherload contract right here. Seven million bucks
[59:37] Speaker 2: a year, you know what I'm saying for a guy
[59:39] Speaker 2: of that, but it's more than we thought he was
[59:41] Speaker 2: gonna get. I think that Kenneth Gainwell, I'm betting on
[59:44] Speaker 2: him to be more productive in fantasy football then Bucky Irving.
[59:49] Speaker 2: And I think that this thing is a fifty to
[59:51] Speaker 2: fifty split where I think that the general markets looking
[59:53] Speaker 2: at as like a seventy to thirty Bucky thing.
[59:55] Speaker 1: There's a very real chance that Bucky Irving is a
[59:58] Speaker 1: between the twenties guy, and that's terrible for fantasy football,
[1:00:01] Speaker 1: right where Kenneth Gamewell's the pass catcher and he's been
[1:00:04] Speaker 1: you know, he obviously played that role last year very well.
[1:00:07] Speaker 1: And Sean Tucker plays goal line stuff and gets some
[1:00:10] Speaker 1: goal line stuff like that's a very real possibility too,
[1:00:12] Speaker 1: and then all of a sudden, that leaves Bucky Irving,
[1:00:15] Speaker 1: you know, and not only that, the workload concerns I
[1:00:18] Speaker 1: think are only validated by these injuries that he's that
[1:00:21] Speaker 1: he's gotten over the last year, you know, and that
[1:00:23] Speaker 1: you know that he's coming back from right now, like
[1:00:25] Speaker 1: that's only enhanced the feeling that he's not going to
[1:00:29] Speaker 1: necessarily be the bellcow that he was down the stretch,
[1:00:32] Speaker 1: you know during his rookie year. Yeah.
[1:00:33] Speaker 2: I mean when we started doing drafts JJ in February,
[1:00:36] Speaker 2: Bucky Irving was like a two three turn pick and
[1:00:39] Speaker 2: then just falling frow it was settling in like that
[1:00:41] Speaker 2: late fourth round something like that. Right now about.
[1:00:43] Speaker 1: Yeah, he's I mean on draftings, he's falling even more
[1:00:46] Speaker 1: just because of the the the injury stuff. Like he's
[1:00:48] Speaker 1: like in the firmly in the fifth.
[1:00:50] Speaker 2: He's I go when I do my draft rankings, I
[1:00:52] Speaker 2: go to for drafting, I go down to Bucky Irving
[1:00:55] Speaker 2: and I cross him off. And I have game well
[1:00:56] Speaker 2: on literally every single team, because again I give them
[1:00:59] Speaker 2: a fifty to fifty to compete here, and the market's
[1:01:02] Speaker 2: treating it like it's not that so gainwell to the
[1:01:05] Speaker 2: moon this year in my that that'll be I guess
[1:01:07] Speaker 2: what we call flagplant, right, Yes.
[1:01:10] Speaker 1: Well that's what I was gonna say you. Like, the
[1:01:11] Speaker 1: last question I want to ask you is a bold
[1:01:13] Speaker 1: take for what we could see in twenty twenty six.
[1:01:15] Speaker 1: Would that be your bold take?
[1:01:17] Speaker 2: No, that's not so. I you know, it's funny, I said,
[1:01:20] Speaker 2: I talked a little game well with somebody that said, oh,
[1:01:22] Speaker 2: that's vanilla ice cream, said vanilla ice cream. That's not
[1:01:25] Speaker 2: vanilla ice cream. Take. So, I want to ask you,
[1:01:27] Speaker 2: do you want medium spice? You want real spice? I
[1:01:29] Speaker 2: mean you can give me the real spice. Okay, the
[1:01:31] Speaker 2: real spie. And I'm not saying this just to like,
[1:01:34] Speaker 2: you know, sensations. I really do believe Tank Dell, the
[1:01:37] Speaker 2: wide receiver who missed all of last year by all
[1:01:40] Speaker 2: means coming back, is set up to be a top
[1:01:43] Speaker 2: twenty five wide receiver in fantasy football. I would even
[1:01:46] Speaker 2: say maybe higher. He was about a fifteen point per
[1:01:48] Speaker 2: game for his catastrophic injury. I don't think the rookies
[1:01:52] Speaker 2: that the Houston Texans drafted. They looked fine, but they
[1:01:55] Speaker 2: didn't look like they were going to be the future
[1:01:56] Speaker 2: of the franchise. Nico Collins gets his extension. He's the
[1:02:00] Speaker 2: true Alpha, but he showed the Tank Dell show that
[1:02:02] Speaker 2: he could exist. Now if he's even back to even
[1:02:04] Speaker 2: somewhat with what he was, CJ. Shroud had a real
[1:02:07] Speaker 2: connection with him. My hot take is that you could
[1:02:09] Speaker 2: pick the round you want Tank Dell. He's coming back,
[1:02:12] Speaker 2: leader of the locker room type of guy. I'm going
[1:02:15] Speaker 2: Tank Dell is a top twenty five wide receiver in
[1:02:18] Speaker 2: twenty twenty six Fantasy football.
[1:02:20] Speaker 1: Yeah, that's spicy. That's spicy. I mean really comes down
[1:02:23] Speaker 1: to the recovery though, So I get it makes sense. Alan,
[1:02:25] Speaker 1: This was amazing. It was really great to have you on,
[1:02:28] Speaker 1: let everyone know where they can find you, what you're
[1:02:29] Speaker 1: working on, and all that good stuff I got.
[1:02:32] Speaker 2: I was part of the boomer hack on Twitter where
[1:02:35] Speaker 2: they stole my Twitter account and you were generous enough
[1:02:38] Speaker 2: to push out my in it to let people know.
[1:02:41] Speaker 2: So it's Alan underscore, says Lastka. I'm now part of
[1:02:45] Speaker 2: the dreaded underscore community on Twitter. And you know, I
[1:02:50] Speaker 2: didn't have a huge following on Twitter. I had a
[1:02:51] Speaker 2: few thousand people, but I'd spent ten years billing that
[1:02:54] Speaker 2: damn account out JJ and now I'm starting it from scratch.
[1:02:57] Speaker 2: And yeah, I know you're saying, this guy clicked on
[1:02:59] Speaker 2: a link. These hackers, they're getting very clever.
[1:03:01] Speaker 1: Health They're getting clever, man, They're getting good. It's scary
[1:03:04] Speaker 1: out there.
[1:03:04] Speaker 2: I think I was a lesson for you. You're not clicking
[1:03:06] Speaker 2: on any links at this point.
[1:03:07] Speaker 1: Oh, I don't click a thing. I get from people
[1:03:10] Speaker 1: and I'm like, I know what's going on exactly, and
[1:03:12] Speaker 1: then you go and you look at their profile and
[1:03:14] Speaker 1: it just all crypto stuff. Yeah.
[1:03:18] Speaker 2: So also I'll promote serious XM satellite radio. I'm on
[1:03:21] Speaker 2: channel eighty seven up until July do this Dynasty show
[1:03:24] Speaker 2: one to three Eastern, and then after that we'll be
[1:03:26] Speaker 2: on in the road a wire slot doing traditional radio.
[1:03:29] Speaker 2: If we have satellite Channel eighty seven is the Fantasy
[1:03:31] Speaker 2: Sports channel, or anytime on the on the Twitter. And
[1:03:34] Speaker 2: uh so let me say you just before we go here,
[1:03:37] Speaker 2: I want your hot take because I know you're not
[1:03:39] Speaker 2: a hot take artist. I'm not a hot take I know,
[1:03:42] Speaker 2: so this is uncomfortable for you.
[1:03:44] Speaker 1: I think my hot take right now. You know what,
[1:03:46] Speaker 1: since we were talking about it, I'll say that that
[1:03:49] Speaker 1: Jalen Wattle finishes as a top eight. Is that is
[1:03:52] Speaker 1: that cool?
[1:03:53] Speaker 2: We'll say it, say it, say it.
[1:03:55] Speaker 1: I'll say I'll plant the flag a little bit on
[1:03:57] Speaker 1: Jaalen Wattle spoiler. He'll be a he'll be a player,
[1:04:00] Speaker 1: to target in the draft guide this year?
[1:04:02] Speaker 2: Will you will you be an extra pain if the
[1:04:04] Speaker 2: player you traded me for, Eli Stowers is a top
[1:04:07] Speaker 2: eight wide receiver.
[1:04:08] Speaker 1: Process over results.
[1:04:13] Speaker 2: You're you're what they what my grandmother would call a
[1:04:16] Speaker 2: mensch JJ. That is a very big compliment. You can
[1:04:18] Speaker 2: anyone out there, you can google it. It's Yiddish.
[1:04:21] Speaker 1: Thank you, thank you. I appreciate it. I appreciate all
[1:04:23] Speaker 1: of you for listening. To make sure you are checking
[1:04:25] Speaker 1: out the new Late Round dot com, becoming a member,
[1:04:28] Speaker 1: checking out the members hub, taking a look at the
[1:04:31] Speaker 1: Late Round Draft guide that will be out July tenth
[1:04:33] Speaker 1: this year. Need a little bit of extra time. It's
[1:04:35] Speaker 1: usually July first, but I needed a little bit extra
[1:04:38] Speaker 1: time just given all the changes going on at Late Round.
[1:04:40] Speaker 1: But that will be out on July tenth. A lot
[1:04:42] Speaker 1: of new stuff in there that I'm very excited about,
[1:04:46] Speaker 1: So check it out Lateround dot com. Otherwise, everyone, as usual,
[1:04:51] Speaker 1: thanks for tuning in. Put the desk
