[0:00] Speaker 1: Now, here's a highlight from Coast to Coast AM on iHeartRadio.
[0:04] Speaker 2: And we're back with Kevin Randall, his latest book, UFO
[0:07] Speaker 2: Sightings and Alien Visitations. Kevin, where's the best place to
[0:11] Speaker 2: get this book?
[0:13] Speaker 3: Right now, probably the easiest place to get it, I mean,
[0:15] Speaker 3: like right now, this minute, would be Amazon.com.
[0:19] Speaker 4: Super.
[0:20] Speaker 2: You have been somewhat skeptical of alien abductions. How come,
[0:23] Speaker 2: and where do you stand today?
[0:27] Speaker 3: Oh, I've been around that question for, again, literally decades.
[0:32] Speaker 3: I think I'm the first one to ever report the
[0:35] Speaker 3: aliens had come into the bedroom for the bedroom abductions
[0:37] Speaker 3: with the Pat Roach case, which I looked at in 1976.
[0:43] Speaker 3: And looking at it logically, I guess, the number of
[0:48] Speaker 3: abductions claimed makes no sense to me. They ran a
[0:54] Speaker 3: Roper poll back in the 90s, and there was, I think,
[0:57] Speaker 3: five key questions trying to determine how many people have
[1:01] Speaker 3: been abducted without asking, have you been abducted type question
[1:03] Speaker 3: to get a kind of a sample on that. And
[1:07] Speaker 3: the problem was nobody, almost nobody answered all five questions
[1:12] Speaker 3: in the way that would indicate that. So they reduced
[1:15] Speaker 3: it to four questions and then they determined about 3
[1:17] Speaker 3: million Americans have been abducted by aliens. You think it
[1:20] Speaker 3: was 3 million Americans. Look at how many around the
[1:23] Speaker 3: world have been abducted and where all the spacecraft parked.
[1:26] Speaker 3: How can they do all of this sort of thing? And,
[1:29] Speaker 3: The abduction is usually single witness. A lot of it
[1:32] Speaker 3: is derived from a hypnotic regression and other enhanced memory techniques.
[1:39] Speaker 3: And so it was a problem. I was talking to
[1:42] Speaker 3: Russ Estes and Bill Cohen. We did a book called
[1:45] Speaker 3: The Abduction Enigma, and we pretty well determined that the
[1:50] Speaker 3: answer to abductions rested on this planet. There were trustful
[1:56] Speaker 3: explanations for the abductions. all kinds of explanations, but they
[2:00] Speaker 3: were explanations. I had an opportunity to talk to Calvin
[2:04] Speaker 3: Parker then. And I may have mentioned this, Calvin Parker.
[2:08] Speaker 4: That's Pascagoula, right?
[2:10] Speaker 3: Pascagoula, Charles Hicks, Pascagoula, October of 1973. And in talking
[2:17] Speaker 3: to him, he mentioned in passing that there had been
[2:21] Speaker 3: witnesses to the abduction the next day. And I just
[2:26] Speaker 3: didn't really buy that. It just didn't make sense to me.
[2:29] Speaker 3: And yet there's a document that proves it, that there
[2:32] Speaker 3: were witnesses. The Air Force officer I mentioned, senior Air
[2:36] Speaker 3: Force officer signed a document dated October 12th, 1973, talking
[2:41] Speaker 3: about their interview with Hickson and Parker and talked about
[2:45] Speaker 3: at least four other witnesses they knew of the next day.
[2:48] Speaker 3: And this is a time when you're not looking at
[2:52] Speaker 3: social media. You don't go, I went out and bought
[2:54] Speaker 3: a Coke today. Uh, these sorts of things didn't get
[2:57] Speaker 3: that kind of publicity that quickly. So it seemed impossible
[3:01] Speaker 3: for that to happen. I talked to Parker a number
[3:04] Speaker 3: of times. I found him to be a very genuine individual.
[3:09] Speaker 3: I think the original abduction that they talked about, that
[3:12] Speaker 3: he and Hickson and Parker talked about, is legitimate. There
[3:18] Speaker 3: is no real logical Earth-based explanation for it. Once they
[3:23] Speaker 3: were returned by the alien creatures, for example, They went
[3:28] Speaker 3: to the sheriff's department. They're left in a room by
[3:32] Speaker 3: themselves with a tape recorder running because the theory would be, well,
[3:36] Speaker 3: if they're making the story up, they'll talk about the
[3:38] Speaker 3: hoax and we'll get some kind of a clue. But
[3:40] Speaker 3: they didn't do that. They were clearly upset by the
[3:43] Speaker 3: whole thing. Parker's life was really turned upside down by
[3:46] Speaker 3: this event. And it haunted him his entire life. But
[3:52] Speaker 3: I talked to both Hicks and I talked to Parker.
[3:55] Speaker 3: I found Parker to be very, very genuine in what
[3:58] Speaker 3: he said. But what got me was the number of
[4:01] Speaker 3: witnesses who had some knowledge or some involvement in the abduction,
[4:08] Speaker 3: seeing it. I know that Philip Klass, when he went
[4:13] Speaker 3: into his investigation of the abduction and wrote about it
[4:18] Speaker 3: in his book, I think UFOs Explained, or maybe it
[4:20] Speaker 3: was his book, book on alien abductions, he mentioned that
[4:28] Speaker 3: most of his analysis, I should say, was about the
[4:32] Speaker 3: search for the polygraph examiner to give him the lie
[4:35] Speaker 3: detector test and why this examiner was probably not the
[4:40] Speaker 3: best man to do that. And it's page after page
[4:42] Speaker 3: after page of that, not really talking about what Hickson
[4:45] Speaker 3: and Parker said, not really talking about what the sheriff's
[4:48] Speaker 3: office and the sheriff's deputy said and that sort of thing.
[4:50] Speaker 3: It's he didn't like the polygrapher because the guy they'd
[4:53] Speaker 3: gone to new Orleans to get the polygraph operator. And
[4:59] Speaker 3: there would have been, there should have been polygraph operators
[5:01] Speaker 3: closer to Pascagoula to do it, but New Orleans isn't
[5:03] Speaker 3: that far from Pascagoula. So they went to a detective
[5:07] Speaker 3: agency in new Orleans and got the, um, polygraph operator there.
[5:13] Speaker 3: But the, the, the whole point is, uh, The analysis
[5:17] Speaker 3: that Clark, the analysis that Klass makes is based on
[5:24] Speaker 3: the training and the ability and the questions asked by
[5:28] Speaker 3: the polygraph operator and not about the abduction itself and
[5:32] Speaker 3: the other witnesses that have come forward since then, but
[5:36] Speaker 3: who identified the very next day. Philip Klass talks about
[5:39] Speaker 3: how the abduction site is close to a major highway
[5:43] Speaker 3: and there should have been people on the highway that
[5:44] Speaker 3: saw it. Well, it turns out there were. And it
[5:47] Speaker 3: was the next day. But if you look at the
[5:48] Speaker 3: highway and the way it's oriented and the vegetation, it's
[5:52] Speaker 3: almost impossible to see from the highway down into that
[5:55] Speaker 3: area going one direction. You'd have to look back over
[5:59] Speaker 3: your shoulder to see it. And on the other side
[6:01] Speaker 3: of the highway, you probably can't get a good look
[6:03] Speaker 3: at it. So you take a look at that. But
[6:05] Speaker 3: it was the Hickson-Parker abduction that kind of got me
[6:09] Speaker 3: to thinking about, and that's the one thing you have
[6:11] Speaker 3: to do in almost any area of research or investigation.
[6:15] Speaker 3: I mean, you don't want to get so hung up
[6:17] Speaker 3: on where you're coming from that you reject information or
[6:21] Speaker 3: evidence that doesn't fit your narrow theory. And I'm engaged
[6:25] Speaker 3: into a bit of an argument on my blog with
[6:29] Speaker 3: a guy who insists that all the Roswell witnesses are liars,
[6:32] Speaker 3: and it was a Project Vogel balloon. And I can't
[6:35] Speaker 3: get him to understand that the documentation eliminates Project Mogul
[6:40] Speaker 3: and not all the witnesses were liars. Some of them
[6:42] Speaker 3: were very good. And some of the liars that came forward, we,
[6:46] Speaker 3: and again, it's Tom, Don, and me, exposed them as
[6:49] Speaker 3: the liars. We're the ones that found out they weren't
[6:51] Speaker 3: telling the truth and reject their testimony, even though we
[6:55] Speaker 3: had accepted it in the beginning. So yeah, that was
[6:59] Speaker 3: kind of where I look at the abduction phenomena and
[7:04] Speaker 3: I think, okay, If there's alien abduction, the Hickson-Parker experience
[7:10] Speaker 3: is probably a good one. In the book, I talk
[7:13] Speaker 3: about a number of abductions in 1973 because, you know,
[7:18] Speaker 3: that's the Hickson-Parker era. And I talked to Pat Roach,
[7:23] Speaker 3: who came forward in 1975, 1976. She'd read an article
[7:29] Speaker 3: that I'd written in Saga's UFO Report. And wrote and
[7:34] Speaker 3: said that she knew how a family could be abducted. Unfortunately,
[7:37] Speaker 3: the story that I had written about there turned out
[7:40] Speaker 3: to be a hoax. Carl Lorenzen had originally given me
[7:43] Speaker 3: the information, Carl Lorenzen being one of the leaders of
[7:46] Speaker 3: the Aerial Phenomenon Research Organization, about a fellow in Argentina.
[7:50] Speaker 3: And after the story came out, a couple of months later,
[7:53] Speaker 3: Carl says, unfortunately, we found out that story's a hoax,
[7:55] Speaker 3: but it led to Pat Roach. Pat Roach did call
[7:59] Speaker 3: the police after the abduction took place. And the police,
[8:02] Speaker 3: of course, said, well, she's a nut. She can't believe
[8:03] Speaker 3: anything she said. But it gave us the date of
[8:06] Speaker 3: the abduction. I think that Pat Roach experienced an episode
[8:10] Speaker 3: of sleep paralysis. But this is the case where it
[8:12] Speaker 3: was reported the aliens were in the house. I think
[8:14] Speaker 3: it's the first time that was reported. The aliens had
[8:17] Speaker 3: come into the house for the bedroom abduction. But I believe,
[8:20] Speaker 3: and I say this with reservations, The Pat Roach case is,
[8:25] Speaker 3: I believe, sleep paralysis. That does not mean that every
[8:28] Speaker 3: other case is explainable by sleep paralysis. Others have other
[8:32] Speaker 3: terrestrial explanations. But when you get to the Hicks and
[8:34] Speaker 3: Parker abduction, you don't have that explanation. And I think
[8:38] Speaker 3: that kind of turned me around on looking at the
[8:41] Speaker 3: abductions with still a skeptical eye, but one that was
[8:46] Speaker 3: more acceptive of the testimony of the witnesses involved and
[8:49] Speaker 3: a distinct possibility that there's something like that going on
[8:53] Speaker 3: that does involve an alien presence, I guess would be
[8:58] Speaker 3: the way to say it. I was just thinking that
[9:00] Speaker 3: if you want to eliminate interstellar flight, that we can
[9:05] Speaker 3: fall back on the idea maybe it is some kind
[9:08] Speaker 3: of interdimensional problem going on that leads to some of
[9:11] Speaker 3: this activity as well. But I think there's something more
[9:14] Speaker 3: to it than just the psychological problems of some people
[9:18] Speaker 3: and hoaxes that people have been springing on us about that.
[9:21] Speaker 5: And I know you're going to want some after hearing this.
[9:23] Speaker 5: This is an amazing story. We've got Stephen and Malachi
[9:26] Speaker 5: Gregory in Nelson, New Zealand. I understand that Malachi, who's eight,
[9:31] Speaker 5: almost nine years old now, was suffering with Not just
[9:35] Speaker 5: one or two warts, but I mean a significant outbreak
[9:37] Speaker 5: of warts all over his body. So significant it impacted
[9:40] Speaker 5: his ability to really function.
[9:42] Speaker 6: Yeah, he was having trouble even holding a pencil to write.
[9:46] Speaker 6: It was Ty's book actually that got me thinking about it.
[9:48] Speaker 1: I'm not surprised. It is an amazing immunomodulator. And so
[9:52] Speaker 1: I can see that it would work.
[9:54] Speaker 5: And so at what point did you see that there
[9:57] Speaker 5: was actually improvement?
[9:58] Speaker 1: Is really going to work?
[9:59] Speaker 6: Well, look, we really started to notice it around 12 weeks.
[10:02] Speaker 6: You can see these things actually getting smaller and smaller
[10:06] Speaker 6: and then going down to where they're just little red marks.
[10:09] Speaker 6: The whole things are gone. And we're talking about once,
[10:11] Speaker 6: you know, one the size of a walnut. I thought,
[10:13] Speaker 6: no way that's going to.
[10:15] Speaker 3: Wow.
[10:15] Speaker 6: It's just been miraculous to see him get into a
[10:18] Speaker 6: pair of shoes.
[10:19] Speaker 1: Yes. How wonderful.
[10:21] Speaker 6: It's great to see him so happy and confident.
[10:23] Speaker 5: Absolutely wonderful.
[10:25] Speaker 1: Our friends that have seen it, they're just blown away.
[10:27] Speaker 5: Ty, this is awesome.
[10:28] Speaker 1: Yeah, this is awesome.
[10:29] Speaker 7: Another amazing story.
[10:31] Speaker 3: Why?
[10:31] Speaker 7: We're talking about carnivora. Call them to awaken your immune
[10:34] Speaker 7: system and protect yourself now.
[10:36] Speaker 4: Call 1-866-836-8735.
[10:40] Speaker 7: That's 1-866-836-8735 or visit carnivora.com. C-A-R-N-I-V-O-R-A carnivora.com.
[10:51] Speaker 4: When they were alive, did you know Bud Hopkins or Dr.
[10:54] Speaker 4: John Mack?
[10:56] Speaker 1: I knew Hopkins.
[10:57] Speaker 3: Um, uh, in fact, uh, Hopkins, when Hopkins did his book,
[11:02] Speaker 3: I was asked to review it for the, um, journal
[11:05] Speaker 3: of scientific, uh, exploration. So I spoke with him and
[11:09] Speaker 3: I spoke with him a number of times about that,
[11:13] Speaker 3: about his work. So yes, I knew Bud Hopkins. I
[11:16] Speaker 3: did not know John Mack. Russ Estes and Bill Cohen
[11:21] Speaker 3: interviewed John Mack on tape. And John Mack said something
[11:24] Speaker 3: that struck me as kind of weird. He said there
[11:27] Speaker 3: was a strange matching between the abduction researcher and the experiencer,
[11:31] Speaker 3: meaning that Bud Hopkins found cold calculating scientists as the abductors.
[11:40] Speaker 3: David Jacobs found those creating the hybrids. John Mack found
[11:43] Speaker 3: those with a Western or an Eastern philosophy. And he
[11:47] Speaker 3: thought that it was a strange matching. And I think, well,
[11:49] Speaker 3: let's turn it around. Maybe it's the philosophy of the
[11:52] Speaker 3: researchers sort of imprinting their ideas on the abductees in
[11:56] Speaker 3: some fashion. But yeah, so I didn't talk to him.
[12:01] Speaker 3: I watched the tapes that Russ and, and, Bill had
[12:06] Speaker 3: gotten on him, but I never, I never corresponded with him.
[12:09] Speaker 3: I never spoke with him personally, but talked to Hopkins
[12:11] Speaker 3: and I talked to, or corresponded with, uh, David Jacobs.
[12:15] Speaker 3: And of course I know Kathleen Martin as well. And
[12:18] Speaker 3: I've talked to her. We had an interesting thing going
[12:21] Speaker 3: on in the Roswell, uh, festival this year, they had
[12:25] Speaker 3: a panel on abductions and I was on the panel with, uh,
[12:29] Speaker 3: Travis Walton and Kathleen Martin. And, uh, And I was,
[12:32] Speaker 3: of course, there because I wanted to talk about the
[12:35] Speaker 3: Pascagoula abduction because I think it's an important case. And,
[12:40] Speaker 3: you know, I've talked to Travis Walton several times and
[12:44] Speaker 3: communicated with him. I knew Mike Rogers and a couple
[12:51] Speaker 3: of the other guys who were on that team when
[12:54] Speaker 3: Walton was abducted back in 1975. So I've got a
[12:55] Speaker 3: lot of.
[12:59] Speaker 3: Information about abductions, I think the number of true abductions,
[13:03] Speaker 3: like the number of true UFO sightings, is very, very narrow.
[13:08] Speaker 3: And I think most of the people who are involved
[13:10] Speaker 3: in telling their stories about alien abduction have had some
[13:15] Speaker 3: kind of experience, but it's relatable to a terrestrial event
[13:18] Speaker 3: as opposed to an alien event. But there are some
[13:21] Speaker 3: that are exploiting that phenomenon for their own game, telling
[13:26] Speaker 3: wild tales that really make no sense.
[13:29] Speaker 4: What do you think of the Barney and Betty Hill case,
[13:31] Speaker 4: one of the original abduction cases?
[13:36] Speaker 3: I'm very ambivalent about that one. In fact, I told
[13:40] Speaker 3: Kathleen Marden at one point that I was concerned about
[13:43] Speaker 3: it being alien, but it may have had more to
[13:47] Speaker 3: do with Betty's interest in UFOs. And she was very
[13:50] Speaker 3: interested in UFOs prior to the abduction. And Benjamin Simon,
[13:55] Speaker 3: their psychiatrist.
[13:57] Speaker 4: I interviewed him, by the way.
[14:00] Speaker 3: And well, then you know that he said, well, he
[14:02] Speaker 3: didn't believe they were abducted by aliens, but he believed
[14:05] Speaker 3: they had some kind of a shared experience.
[14:08] Speaker 4: Well, with what he told me, this is what I've
[14:11] Speaker 4: asked him. I was 21 years old when I interviewed
[14:13] Speaker 4: him back in 1971. And I said, Dr. Simon, were
[14:17] Speaker 4: they lying to you? He said, no. He said, I
[14:21] Speaker 4: don't know what happened to them, but whatever happened to them,
[14:25] Speaker 4: they believe it to be true.
[14:29] Speaker 3: And that's the thing with a lot of the abduction
[14:32] Speaker 3: people you talk to. They believe it's alien. Philip Klass
[14:37] Speaker 3: once told me that he thought we should give them
[14:42] Speaker 3: all a lie detector test to determine whether or not
[14:44] Speaker 3: the experience took place. And I said, Philip, it's not
[14:47] Speaker 3: going to work because they believe they were abducted. That
[14:51] Speaker 3: doesn't mean they were abducted by alien creatures. They had
[14:53] Speaker 3: an experience that they believe leads them to that conclusion.
[14:56] Speaker 3: They're going to pass the test. So giving them lie
[14:59] Speaker 3: detector test is kind of a, right.
[15:01] Speaker 4: They're not lying. They believe it to be true.
[15:04] Speaker 5: Yes.
[15:04] Speaker 6: Yes.
[15:05] Speaker 3: They believe it to be true. Did Barney and Betty
[15:06] Speaker 3: Hill get abducted? I don't know. I think they had,
[15:10] Speaker 3: they had obviously had some kind of shared experience and
[15:12] Speaker 3: they obviously believe they were abducted.
[15:14] Speaker 1: And Dr.
[15:15] Speaker 3: Simon confirmed they believed it, but that we need the
[15:19] Speaker 3: next step. And that's, that's the one thing that people,
[15:22] Speaker 3: what do you, what do you want? And I, you know, just,
[15:25] Speaker 3: over the fence into the extraterrestrial, but I would like
[15:28] Speaker 3: to see the physical evidence. I'd like to see the craft.
[15:31] Speaker 3: I'd like to see the bodies. I wish that we
[15:34] Speaker 3: weren't caught up in this dump of evidence or sightings
[15:42] Speaker 3: periodically by the government, which rarely has anything that we
[15:46] Speaker 3: didn't already know. They're not giving us anything new, any stuff.
[15:51] Speaker 3: And I say, okay, we look through all this information.
[15:55] Speaker 3: Where's the stuff on Roswell? Where's the stuff on Leveland?
[15:59] Speaker 3: Both very important sightings, but there's nothing that you find.
[16:03] Speaker 3: In the Roswell case, there's the FBI telex that talks
[16:08] Speaker 3: about the information getting to Fort Worth and the FBI
[16:13] Speaker 3: agent talking to Major Curtin. In fact, the FBI agent
[16:16] Speaker 3: spells Curtin's name wrong. about what happened there. That's the
[16:21] Speaker 3: only document that appears in the Roswell case, and yet
[16:24] Speaker 3: it was filled, the newspapers were filled with stuff about
[16:27] Speaker 3: Roswell back in 1947. If you look at the data
[16:30] Speaker 3: dumps we've gotten from these data dumps, there's an awful
[16:35] Speaker 3: lot of newspaper articles included in that material, and information
[16:39] Speaker 3: from UFO organizations that leaned from the, I believe, everything
[16:46] Speaker 3: to Everything is wrong. We've got to look at that.
[16:50] Speaker 3: Short-lived organizations, long-lived organizations, all of that sort of thing.
[16:54] Speaker 3: But there's nothing about Roswell. I found nothing about Leveland.
[16:57] Speaker 3: I'm looking for that stuff. I've reported on a couple
[17:01] Speaker 3: of the sightings that took place recently that's in there.
[17:09] Speaker 3: which are unresolved, but we can't get any additional information
[17:14] Speaker 3: about it. So unresolved is basically unidentified. That doesn't necessarily
[17:18] Speaker 3: take us to the extraterrestrial. I want to take that
[17:20] Speaker 3: step over the fence into the evidences.
[17:25] Speaker 4: Here's debris.
[17:27] Speaker 3: Here's the body. Here's what our research has told us.
[17:30] Speaker 3: I don't think there's going to be a mass panic
[17:32] Speaker 3: because everybody's going to say, you know, this happened like
[17:33] Speaker 3: 80 years ago.
[17:34] Speaker 4: Who cares?
[17:35] Speaker 3: It hasn't affected my life at all. Of course, it's
[17:37] Speaker 3: affected my life because I keep going to Roswell. That's
[17:39] Speaker 3: another story.
