[0:00] Speaker 1: Now here's a highlight from Coast to Coast AM on iHeartRadio.
[0:04] Speaker 2: Jonathan Kaplan, we have some mutual friends, of course. Chris Sharp,
[0:08] Speaker 2: excellent young reporter over there in the UK. And I
[0:11] Speaker 2: know you've been in contact with my colleague, Jeremy Corbell,
[0:14] Speaker 2: in talking with Chris over the years about how the
[0:17] Speaker 2: public reacts in Britain to stories that he writes about
[0:22] Speaker 2: or events that happen, intrusions at US, UK military bases,
[0:27] Speaker 2: or say your book. that the reaction of the public
[0:30] Speaker 2: over there, at least as far as he could tell
[0:32] Speaker 2: is so much more subdued than it is here. Is
[0:35] Speaker 2: that your sense? Is there less media coverage overall than
[0:38] Speaker 2: what we're seeing here in the U S now?
[0:41] Speaker 3: Um, I think that's certainly true to, to, to, um,
[0:45] Speaker 3: a degree. And, and Chris, of course does the most
[0:48] Speaker 3: wonderful job at liberation times, uh, with his sources and
[0:51] Speaker 3: getting stories out, um, that are real groundbreakers. Um, And,
[0:58] Speaker 3: of course, we've got another friend in common, Dylan Borland,
[1:00] Speaker 3: who is a fantastic whistleblower and one of the many
[1:05] Speaker 3: brave men that have come forward.
[1:09] Speaker 4: And others.
[1:10] Speaker 3: I think the reaction is, I mean, we don't have
[1:14] Speaker 3: an overt government policy here on UAPs. We don't have
[1:18] Speaker 3: a budget that is voted for by Parliament. We don't
[1:22] Speaker 3: even have a parliamentary committee that is sitting to look
[1:26] Speaker 3: at this, even though this phenomenon breaches the control of
[1:33] Speaker 3: our airspace and of our territorial waters. I would say,
[1:38] Speaker 3: frequently on a daily basis. And obviously, we have intercepting
[1:43] Speaker 3: aircraft and the Navy, obviously, it intercepts these anomalies and
[1:48] Speaker 3: chases them off.
[1:50] Speaker 4: And we have other experiences here in the UK.
[1:53] Speaker 3: But I must say, having published the book, I have
[1:57] Speaker 3: been surprised at the very large number of emails and
[2:04] Speaker 3: communications I'm getting from people at a very senior level, scientists, academics,
[2:11] Speaker 3: people all over the country who want to tell me
[2:14] Speaker 3: about their experiences, that they're so pleased that this subject
[2:19] Speaker 3: is being openly written about by a publisher like Penguin,
[2:23] Speaker 3: and that there's some credence being given to it.
[2:25] Speaker 4: So we are a step behind you.
[2:28] Speaker 3: And in fact, surprisingly enough, I was asked last week,
[2:32] Speaker 3: to go and speak on the book to Cambridge University,
[2:36] Speaker 3: which is something I didn't think was going to happen
[2:39] Speaker 3: at least that quickly.
[2:40] Speaker 4: So, yes, people are open to it.
[2:44] Speaker 3: And I think a lot of reason for that is
[2:46] Speaker 3: because some, first of all, the New York Times article
[2:50] Speaker 3: in 2017 was a groundbreaker. I think David Grush giving open,
[2:55] Speaker 3: sworn testimony that was televised about crashed craft and biologics
[2:59] Speaker 3: to the Oversight Committee was in 2023, I think that was,
[3:04] Speaker 3: was a groundbreaker.
[3:05] Speaker 4: So it makes it.
[3:06] Speaker 3: Easier to talk about it. And there is a huge
[3:08] Speaker 3: appetite here for people to know more.
[3:11] Speaker 2: Could you describe the US-UK relationship on this topic? I'm wondering,
[3:15] Speaker 2: does your country, does Britain have secret files, the equivalent
[3:19] Speaker 2: of CIA analysis stashed away somewhere? And does it take
[3:23] Speaker 2: its cue from the US largely on this issue?
[3:26] Speaker 4: Yeah, we do.
[3:27] Speaker 3: And you can go back, that goes back actually to
[3:29] Speaker 3: the 1940s, because the Truman Directive, which closed this subject
[3:34] Speaker 3: off away from Congress to scientists and intelligence officers. Remember,
[3:39] Speaker 3: the CIA was created in 1947 and others. That was
[3:43] Speaker 3: on September the 24th, 1947. James Forrestal, the first Secretary
[3:45] Speaker 3: of Defense, on the 1st of October, 1947, called in
[3:47] Speaker 3: the chief scientific officer, to the Ministry of Defence, a
[3:55] Speaker 3: man called Sir Henry Tizard. He came in to meet
[3:58] Speaker 3: with Forrestal, Bush, and a few others from the Royal
[4:02] Speaker 3: Air Force came to meet with Eisenhower in the month
[4:04] Speaker 3: of October. They then came back to set up a
[4:07] Speaker 3: secret flying saucer working party here in London. And the
[4:12] Speaker 3: first paragraph almost of that report, which I've obtained, says,
[4:17] Speaker 3: following the American lead, This subject is not to be
[4:20] Speaker 3: given any publicity, and only one copy of this report
[4:23] Speaker 3: is to be published. So the allies, UK as an ally,
[4:27] Speaker 3: was brought into this very early on. We're a member
[4:29] Speaker 3: of Five Eyes. I think we're a trusted member of
[4:32] Speaker 3: Five Eyes. And there's a caucus group, as you know,
[4:35] Speaker 3: that meets. But equally, yes, we take the lead from you.
[4:40] Speaker 3: And our special forces, obviously, if a craft was to
[4:44] Speaker 3: be discovered here in the United Kingdom... would be the
[4:48] Speaker 3: ones that would maintain the area and the craft and
[4:52] Speaker 3: weight American collection. So there's a good deal of liaison
[4:56] Speaker 3: between the United States and us on this subject because
[4:59] Speaker 3: it's a matter of huge common concern. As I know,
[5:03] Speaker 3: there is a huge amount, this is surprising, but a
[5:06] Speaker 3: huge amount of liaison between the agencies in the US
[5:11] Speaker 3: and China and Russia today.
[5:15] Speaker 2: You know, the UK has announced multiple times, hey, we've
[5:18] Speaker 2: released all of our UFO files. Oh, here's another batch.
[5:21] Speaker 2: We'll release all of them now, and then they'll do
[5:23] Speaker 2: it again, another batch. Do you suspect there's a storehouse
[5:26] Speaker 2: of information, documents, reports that have not been released that
[5:30] Speaker 2: are still stashed somewhere?
[5:31] Speaker 4: Oh, undoubtedly.
[5:32] Speaker 3: I mean, you know, this subject is 80 years old,
[5:34] Speaker 3: and we've had our experiences. We've had UAPs over our
[5:38] Speaker 3: nuclear facilities, just as you have. We've had our trained
[5:44] Speaker 3: fighter pilots intercepting craft, exhibiting a technology we don't understand.
[5:50] Speaker 3: We've had our nuclear submarines followed by underwater anomalous objects
[5:58] Speaker 3: of tremendous size and at tremendous speeds. So this is
[6:02] Speaker 3: a universal phenomenon. And every major country around the world
[6:08] Speaker 3: is alive to the um significance of these interactions and
[6:14] Speaker 3: are concerned about it we're not in control and therefore
[6:18] Speaker 3: we need this dialogue and we look to the united
[6:20] Speaker 3: states as the principal partner and the principal gatherer of
[6:24] Speaker 3: intelligence about this.
[6:26] Speaker 2: I know when i started down this road the angle
[6:28] Speaker 2: that i pursued as a journalist was the paper trail
[6:31] Speaker 2: i mean i couldn't go out and find a ufo
[6:33] Speaker 2: out in the desert although i've been out there and
[6:35] Speaker 2: tried it a bunch of times uh But it was
[6:37] Speaker 2: the paper trail of documents that had been forced out
[6:39] Speaker 2: of government agencies through FOIA, the Freedom of Information Act.
[6:43] Speaker 2: And they painted a very different picture than what the
[6:45] Speaker 2: public was being told. These documents from decades ago in
[6:49] Speaker 2: which behind closed doors, agencies, generals, different folks of authority
[6:54] Speaker 2: were saying, this is very real. We think it might
[6:56] Speaker 2: be extraterrestrial. And that's what they said to each other
[7:00] Speaker 2: and then said something different to the public. Your book
[7:03] Speaker 2: goes into a lot of documentation, including, for example, MJ-12 documents,
[7:06] Speaker 2: which remain controversial. Make the case, based on the paper
[7:10] Speaker 2: trail of documents that you mention in your book, that
[7:12] Speaker 2: you find most persuasive.
[7:15] Speaker 3: Well, I think MJ-12, I have no doubt about it,
[7:18] Speaker 3: it is real. I'm not saying there may not be
[7:20] Speaker 3: some documents which have been falsified, but MJ-12 existed. I mean,
[7:24] Speaker 3: you've had only recently Alonzo McDonald, who was President Carter's
[7:27] Speaker 3: chief of staff, confirm that he knows that MJ-12 existed.
[7:32] Speaker 3: If you go back in time, Dr. Eric Walker of
[7:35] Speaker 3: Penn University confirmed that he was working on the original MJ-12.
[7:41] Speaker 3: And I spoke to Ryan Wood actually about the documents
[7:49] Speaker 3: which he and his father discovered. And when I was
[7:51] Speaker 3: in Washington recently, I said, look, are you sure you've
[7:54] Speaker 3: picked up all the documents from this man, Tim Cooper's house,
[7:57] Speaker 3: who seemed to be the recipient of a lot of
[7:59] Speaker 3: them And he went back there and he discovered a
[8:02] Speaker 3: couple of more that were pretty significant ones, which are
[8:05] Speaker 3: in the book. And you can check these documents out
[8:09] Speaker 3: because when you look at the documents, you go to
[8:12] Speaker 3: the official libraries and diaries of Truman or Forrestal or Eisenhower.
[8:17] Speaker 3: And there are the meetings or you go to the
[8:19] Speaker 3: private diaries of people like David Lilienthal, who is the
[8:24] Speaker 3: chairman of the first Atomic Energy Commission. who refers in
[8:27] Speaker 3: some detail to these meetings. Amazing, his diary is still
[8:31] Speaker 3: available at Princeton. And yeah, I mean, the MJ-12 documents,
[8:35] Speaker 3: the detail is there to be corroborated by historical documents.
[8:40] Speaker 3: And the people in those documents who are writing the
[8:44] Speaker 3: memos and signing them, if you go and look at
[8:47] Speaker 3: their histories, those are people that are on CIA committees,
[8:50] Speaker 3: and you can get this from the CIA reading room,
[8:53] Speaker 3: when those committees are actually looking, they refer in their
[8:56] Speaker 3: meetings to You know, UAP study groups and so forth.
[9:02] Speaker 3: So they're very involved in this topic. And there are
[9:06] Speaker 3: just too much MJ-12 material. And when you look at it,
[9:12] Speaker 3: too much corroboration of that material in the official diaries
[9:15] Speaker 3: and records for this to have been invented. And as
[9:18] Speaker 3: I say, we've got firsthand accounts from people who confirm
[9:22] Speaker 3: that MJ-12 existed.
[9:24] Speaker 2: Yeah, it's possible that it's known as something else by now,
[9:26] Speaker 2: but it would make sense. You'd need something like that
[9:29] Speaker 2: to get a handle on this. I mean, as you note,
[9:31] Speaker 2: when the cover-up first began, when the crashes first began,
[9:35] Speaker 2: it was probably perfectly justified to keep a lid on
[9:38] Speaker 2: it until somebody figured out what it was, correct?
[9:42] Speaker 3: Yeah, because, I mean, you ought to remember that Truman
[9:44] Speaker 3: is informed these are interplanetary craft by the Army. And
[9:49] Speaker 3: we've just come out of a bruising Second World War.
[9:53] Speaker 3: And his concern and Eisenhower's concern would be, well, what
[9:58] Speaker 3: kind of threat is this? You know, how many more
[10:01] Speaker 3: ships are coming? What's the agenda? And I think I
[10:06] Speaker 3: explain in the book that there's an important meeting. This
[10:09] Speaker 3: is one of the new documents we have put in
[10:11] Speaker 3: the book on the 14th of July, 1949, a meeting,
[10:14] Speaker 3: secret meeting, off the record meeting, that Truman held at
[10:19] Speaker 3: Blair House, which is where the White House had temporarily
[10:22] Speaker 3: adjourned to while it was being redecorated, they were concerned
[10:26] Speaker 3: that they might have to meet an alien attack in
[10:29] Speaker 3: space and were going to have to ramp up the
[10:34] Speaker 3: atomic weapon production. And they were getting ready for confrontation.
[10:41] Speaker 3: And you've got to remember, in those early days, a
[10:43] Speaker 3: lot of aircraft were being brought down by getting too
[10:46] Speaker 3: close to these craft. And then we have, of course,
[10:49] Speaker 3: the overflights over Washington in 1952, which were concerning. There
[10:55] Speaker 3: was a lot to be concerned about. And I can
[10:58] Speaker 3: see the perfect logic of having a small group of
[11:04] Speaker 3: intelligence officers and military and scientists trying to figure out
[11:09] Speaker 3: what this means.
[11:11] Speaker 2: Yeah, you have quality witnesses that vouch for a lot
[11:14] Speaker 2: of the content that's included in these documents. Robert Sarbacher
[11:17] Speaker 2: is one of the names you mention in this book,
[11:19] Speaker 2: and although the longtime investigators into the topic will remember
[11:23] Speaker 2: him and that name, I think a lot of the
[11:25] Speaker 2: folks who've just joined since 2017 have no idea his
[11:29] Speaker 2: stature and what he said. Can you share that part
[11:31] Speaker 2: of your book with us?
[11:33] Speaker 1: Yes.
[11:35] Speaker 4: He was somebody who was involved in... MJ-12.
[11:41] Speaker 3: And he was approached by those examining the topic early on.
[11:49] Speaker 3: And he confirmed, yes, look, when I was at the Pentagon,
[11:54] Speaker 3: I was involved. I wasn't involved, actually, in retrieving crashed craft.
[11:59] Speaker 3: But I did go to some of the meetings. I
[12:02] Speaker 3: did know about these anomalous objects which had been recovered.
[12:09] Speaker 3: I was, uh, involved in trying to understand what they were.
[12:13] Speaker 2: Um, and by the way, it was classified higher than
[12:16] Speaker 2: the H bomb, right?
[12:17] Speaker 4: Higher than the H bomb.
[12:18] Speaker 3: And, uh, there was, um, a Canadian, um, uh, uh,
[12:23] Speaker 3: geomagnetist at the time who was looking, um, at, uh,
[12:27] Speaker 3: geomagnetism and thought this might have something to do with
[12:29] Speaker 3: the flying saucer riddle approach. He confirmed MJ 12 existed
[12:34] Speaker 3: that this, uh, um, secret, uh, study existed. And, um,
[12:40] Speaker 3: he said, oh, you may want to go and speak
[12:42] Speaker 3: to Dr. Eric Walker at Penn, who went to every meeting,
[12:46] Speaker 3: and they went to speak to Eric Walker, and he
[12:49] Speaker 3: again confirmed, I was on this program, don't waste your time,
[12:53] Speaker 3: you're not going to be able to do anything about it,
[12:55] Speaker 3: and I work with MJ-12, but I can't say any more.
[12:59] Speaker 2: You have a lot of information in this book about crashes,
[13:02] Speaker 2: witnesses have come forward and said this or that, evidence,
[13:04] Speaker 2: you know, not just Roswell, but crashes and incidents in
[13:08] Speaker 2: ever since then, including Ely, Nevada, which has always been
[13:12] Speaker 2: an interesting incident and report to me. But you raised
[13:16] Speaker 2: a very interesting question about whether or not these crashes
[13:19] Speaker 2: are on purpose or not. They're accidental or maybe on
[13:21] Speaker 2: purpose in order to seed earth with this weird technology
[13:25] Speaker 2: and see who's able to do something with it. Do
[13:27] Speaker 2: you believe that to be the case?
[13:30] Speaker 3: Well, I think some accidentally were brought down. I think
[13:32] Speaker 3: Roswell was an accident because of the particular radar system
[13:40] Speaker 3: is allegedly what interfered with it.
[13:42] Speaker 4: Yes, I do think that some were found intact.
[13:46] Speaker 3: And my suspicion is that there are probably agreements there.
[13:52] Speaker 3: not treaties, which would require legislative approval, but agreements between
[13:57] Speaker 3: governments and one or more species. And it may be
[14:02] Speaker 3: that a part of those agreements is that we seed
[14:06] Speaker 3: certain things in return for technology. And the way in
[14:10] Speaker 3: which they deliver their part of the agreement is to
[14:14] Speaker 3: park one of these UAPs, so to speak, leave the keys,
[14:18] Speaker 3: and it's there to be picked up, make of it
[14:20] Speaker 3: what you will.
[14:23] Speaker 2: And you get into the issue of bodies. We've heard
[14:25] Speaker 2: a lot of testimony lately. There's even a push for, okay,
[14:28] Speaker 2: if you're not going to tell us about the technology
[14:30] Speaker 2: because of national security concerns that we might reveal something
[14:34] Speaker 2: that would help the Russians or the Chinese, why can't
[14:37] Speaker 2: you tell us about the bodies? What do you think
[14:39] Speaker 2: the reason is for withholding that? I guess because it
[14:41] Speaker 2: would open the door to the other stuff.
[14:43] Speaker 3: Well, I think the entities is one of the most
[14:45] Speaker 3: sensitive areas for the agencies. And you don't hear very
[14:51] Speaker 3: much about that at all. I mean, it was interesting
[14:54] Speaker 3: that Dave Grush, when he originally gave televised evidence to Congress,
[14:57] Speaker 3: just spoke about biologics. He's gone a bit further since
[15:01] Speaker 3: and has spoken about two species recently, I think reptilians
[15:05] Speaker 3: and greys. We don't hear about them. But in fact,
[15:10] Speaker 3: there was quite an interesting revelation, I think by John Ramirez,
[15:17] Speaker 3: a former CIA officer, who said that he'd attended a
[15:21] Speaker 3: lecture at Tyson's Corner, which was for CIA officers and
[15:28] Speaker 3: other trusted contractors, where it was revealed that the DNA
[15:33] Speaker 3: from these biologics, which had been recovered from craft within
[15:38] Speaker 3: the borders of the United States, had been taken and
[15:42] Speaker 3: compared with the DNA, the human DNA, when genome sequencing
[15:47] Speaker 3: became possible. And they have found that alien DNA was
[15:51] Speaker 3: present in human DNA.
[15:52] Speaker 4: In the sequencing.
[15:54] Speaker 3: And they're also seriously investigating the question of hybridization. And
[15:59] Speaker 3: I think this is a very active area of inquiry
[16:02] Speaker 3: at the moment, looking to see who might have this
[16:08] Speaker 3: alien DNA, which families or groupings might have it. And
[16:13] Speaker 3: I think the reason they're probably doing that is because
[16:17] Speaker 3: they're concerned to begin programs to see whether these people
[16:21] Speaker 3: have enhanced psychic powers or.
[16:26] Speaker 4: Abilities of higher consciousness.
