Tonight’s guest, Kenny Allison, is a self-described avid outdoorsman who has been hunting and fishing for about as long as he can remember. The Sasquatch encounter he had in 1973, while he was laying in bed, didn’t frighten him out of the woods, but he thinks about Sasquatch almost any time he heads into the woods, to this day. We hope you’ll tune in and listen to him lay out what happened that night and the other times he’s had experiences with Sasquatch. If you've had at least one Sasquatch sighting and would like to be a guest on the show, please go to BigfootEyewitness.com and let me know. I'd love to hear from you. [0:14] Speaker 2: My name is Kenny Allison. I'm from Georgia, and I'm
[0:19] Speaker 2: 62 years old. Avid outdoorsman, hunting fish all my life,
[0:24] Speaker 2: far back as I can remember. In early 73... I
[0:30] Speaker 2: was young, real young, and I had an older brother.
[0:33] Speaker 2: We were home at night. Everybody was in bed. And
[0:37] Speaker 2: my brother always played tricks. He scared me every night.
[0:40] Speaker 2: I mean, he was notorious for that and telling me
[0:44] Speaker 2: somebody's at the window, something's at the window. And every night,
[0:47] Speaker 2: you know, and I'd cover my head up for 30
[0:49] Speaker 2: minutes and finally come back out and look, you know,
[0:52] Speaker 2: and it was nothing. We was laying there one particular night.
[0:56] Speaker 2: It was late spring, I guess, 73. And he said
[1:02] Speaker 2: the same thing. Something's at the window. Oh, my gosh.
[1:04] Speaker 2: You know, he was just going on. I'm like, oh,
[1:06] Speaker 2: here we go again. Man, scared me to death before
[1:09] Speaker 2: I go to sleep, you know. And he usually says something,
[1:15] Speaker 2: you know, continually when she says that, but it got quiet. Well,
[1:19] Speaker 2: I'm under the cover, so I'm really, I don't know
[1:22] Speaker 2: what's going on now because this is kind of different.
[1:25] Speaker 2: I look at him under the covers and look at
[1:27] Speaker 2: his bed, and he's not in it. bed sheet drug
[1:31] Speaker 2: off on the floor, and he had left the room.
[1:33] Speaker 2: He went to my daddy and mama's room, and I
[1:38] Speaker 2: looked up at the window, and we had these tall windows.
[1:43] Speaker 2: They went all the way to the floor within a
[1:45] Speaker 2: couple of inches. And standing on the front porch, looking
[1:50] Speaker 2: in our bedroom, he was actually squatting a little bit,
[1:54] Speaker 2: and he was rocking back left to right, and I
[1:56] Speaker 2: could see the form so well. I can still close
[2:00] Speaker 2: my eyes and see it, the hairline. It was just
[2:03] Speaker 2: a faint moon outside or just enough you could see
[2:07] Speaker 2: those things. And, of course, when I watched him for
[2:14] Speaker 2: maybe 30 seconds, and I said, I'm not laying here.
[2:17] Speaker 2: So I get up, and I crawl down the hall
[2:20] Speaker 2: just like he did, my brother. I get to Mama
[2:24] Speaker 2: Daddy's bedroom, and Daddy, he's unloaded. two shotguns, and both
[2:32] Speaker 2: of them was going to go out the back door
[2:33] Speaker 2: and come around to the front. One to go to
[2:35] Speaker 2: the right, one to the left. Well, my mama was
[2:37] Speaker 2: scared to death they was going to shoot one another. Well,
[2:41] Speaker 2: I don't know if daddy, seemed like my daddy had
[2:43] Speaker 2: saw something because they come back in the house, he's
[2:46] Speaker 2: kind of quiet. And the subdivision we just moved in,
[2:51] Speaker 2: it had a green space and the road was like
[2:55] Speaker 2: a horseshoe and we were the first house that was built.
[2:58] Speaker 2: The rest of the things under construction, it was all,
[3:00] Speaker 2: you know, virgin timber. The land of houses were being
[3:04] Speaker 2: built on. So, in the little green space across the road,
[3:09] Speaker 2: me and my brother had built like a Tom Sawyer raft. Like,
[3:13] Speaker 2: you know, we'd go out there, and it was, you know,
[3:15] Speaker 2: maybe an 8-8, and we'd play there in the summertime. Well,
[3:20] Speaker 2: my daddy hadn't said nothing about it until one day
[3:23] Speaker 2: he'd come home from work, and we were just coming
[3:25] Speaker 2: back out of the woods from across the road. he
[3:28] Speaker 2: told us don't go back over there. And we never
[3:32] Speaker 2: didn't question my daddy. You just better do what he says.
[3:36] Speaker 2: He was loving, but he was strict. And I don't
[3:39] Speaker 2: know if he saw something the night that they were
[3:42] Speaker 2: outside or he saw it later. I'm not sure. I
[3:48] Speaker 2: never asked him about it. I guess I should, but
[3:51] Speaker 2: it's imprinted in my mind from that night. And, uh,
[3:55] Speaker 2: It's never leave me. I just can't shake it. And
[3:59] Speaker 2: then as I was growing up, we didn't have any
[4:03] Speaker 2: experience there anymore. We lived there for about three years
[4:06] Speaker 2: and we moved back a little more north than what
[4:11] Speaker 2: we were living in at the time. And I was
[4:16] Speaker 2: just growing up, getting a little older and older. It
[4:20] Speaker 2: was a trip. Me and my son was hunting on
[4:23] Speaker 2: this deer lease. It was off the old Moggy River.
[4:28] Speaker 2: I took a week off of work so him and
[4:30] Speaker 2: I could hunt. And we were going down on a Saturday, hunted,
[4:36] Speaker 2: and it was church Sunday. Then Monday morning, we drove
[4:39] Speaker 2: back down. Well, we were hunting, I don't know, beaver
[4:44] Speaker 2: ponds that had dried up. So they looked like little
[4:47] Speaker 2: grass fields. And there was like three of them in
[4:49] Speaker 2: a row. And my son was hunting up the upper end.
[4:53] Speaker 2: We seen a lot of deer sign coming out of them.
[4:55] Speaker 2: And I was on the lower beaver pond that had
[4:57] Speaker 2: dried up. And, well, Monday night I seen several deer,
[5:04] Speaker 2: you know, and I saw a buck that I didn't
[5:05] Speaker 2: really want to shoot. It was a young one. And
[5:08] Speaker 2: they all went all across the top of the beaver
[5:10] Speaker 2: dam of the next beaver lake above me. And they
[5:14] Speaker 2: were walking across and they'd go in the other side. Well,
[5:17] Speaker 2: that's all I saw. I go back and hunt that morning.
[5:21] Speaker 2: And I never would see deer. The moon was different,
[5:23] Speaker 2: so the deer was coming out late and probably moving
[5:26] Speaker 2: in the middle of the day. But that evening, I
[5:31] Speaker 2: seen that same deer again, but that was like 10
[5:33] Speaker 2: minutes later or 15 minutes later. So it was getting
[5:35] Speaker 2: closer to dark when I saw those the second evening. Well,
[5:40] Speaker 2: Wednesday evening, we go back in after hunting and we're
[5:44] Speaker 2: not seeing deer in the same place, but we went
[5:46] Speaker 2: back because there was just a lot of signs. And
[5:49] Speaker 2: I sat there all the way. It was just about dark.
[5:53] Speaker 2: I mean, you could barely see 50 yards maybe. And
[5:57] Speaker 2: they crossed then. It was like 30 minutes later every day. Well,
[6:04] Speaker 2: I let them get out of here. I could hear
[6:05] Speaker 2: them walking up through the thick stuff on the other
[6:07] Speaker 2: side of the beaver pine. I let them go until
[6:10] Speaker 2: I didn't hear them anymore. So I stand up in
[6:13] Speaker 2: my portable. I'm about 25 foot up a tree. Nothing
[6:17] Speaker 2: like that. good hunt you know i saw something you
[6:20] Speaker 2: know and i'm fixing to get ready to come down
[6:22] Speaker 2: just like i've been doing the whole week and i've
[6:25] Speaker 2: never heard nothing like this before across the beaver pond
[6:29] Speaker 2: that i'm looking straight in front of me to the
[6:31] Speaker 2: right where the dam is and where the big hardwoods
[6:35] Speaker 2: come up on that side there was a roar that
[6:40] Speaker 2: i've never heard before and the tail end of it
[6:45] Speaker 2: It sounded like what an elephant sounds like when they gurgle,
[6:48] Speaker 2: when they get through doing their thing. It's like, it's rumbles.
[6:52] Speaker 2: And I'm like, I'm shaking because I know the image
[6:58] Speaker 2: I still got in my head from being little. And
[7:01] Speaker 2: I'm matching these two up because there's nothing in them
[7:03] Speaker 2: woods that sounds like that. I've been hunting, like I said,
[7:05] Speaker 2: all my life. Never heard that. So I did research
[7:09] Speaker 2: again on the phone and computer trying to find out sound.
[7:13] Speaker 2: There's nothing like it. The closest thing is Ohio sounds
[7:18] Speaker 2: that I had pulled up and listened to. But, of course,
[7:21] Speaker 2: I was close. I was within 100 yards of whatever
[7:24] Speaker 2: it was. Well, I'm like, I got to get down.
[7:28] Speaker 2: I don't want to make noise, but I'm going to
[7:29] Speaker 2: make noise. I don't have a choice. As soon as
[7:32] Speaker 2: I move, whatever's over there knows where I'm at exactly
[7:35] Speaker 2: because it wasn't far. Well, I turned around. I get
[7:39] Speaker 2: my safety rope put in the right spot where I
[7:42] Speaker 2: could start coming down. In a roar, answered back, in
[7:47] Speaker 2: the furthest beaver pond that one of my sons is hunting.
[7:51] Speaker 2: It sounds just like I stopped listening to the whole thing.
[7:54] Speaker 2: So I'm constantly looking back in that green beaver pond
[7:58] Speaker 2: that dried up with green grass. I went to see
[8:00] Speaker 2: if I seen something standing there because the moon was
[8:03] Speaker 2: getting a little bit, about three-quarter moon then, so I
[8:05] Speaker 2: could see good. Once my eyes got used to the dark,
[8:08] Speaker 2: I never saw anything, but I come down. And, of course,
[8:12] Speaker 2: I'm about 100 yards down. 150 yards from my four-wheeler.
[8:16] Speaker 2: So I run. I mean, I jump out of my stand.
[8:19] Speaker 2: It's still six foot off the ground. And I get
[8:23] Speaker 2: on my four-wheeler, and it's cold nature. So you have
[8:25] Speaker 2: to baby it when you first crank it or just
[8:28] Speaker 2: choke and leave it on choke. Well, that's what I did.
[8:31] Speaker 2: I started up, put it on choke, and I had
[8:33] Speaker 2: about 250, 300 yards to get on the roadway to
[8:38] Speaker 2: get to where my son was meeting me. Well, I
[8:40] Speaker 2: come up, look down in the little valley there and
[8:42] Speaker 2: come back up. And I see he's on his vest.
[8:45] Speaker 2: And I started slowing down. And he was saying something.
[8:47] Speaker 2: So I couldn't hear him. I got closer. When I
[8:49] Speaker 2: got up pretty close, I said, keep moving, keep moving.
[8:51] Speaker 2: I'm jumping on. So he jumps on the back of
[8:53] Speaker 2: the four-wheeler. We get to the camp. Well, Wednesday we
[8:57] Speaker 2: were going home and wash clothes and stuff and come
[9:01] Speaker 2: back Thursday. So we got all our stuff out of
[9:04] Speaker 2: the cabin. We didn't talk at all. We put it
[9:07] Speaker 2: in the truck. And we had about 7,500 feet to
[9:10] Speaker 2: the gate that we had to get out and unlock.
[9:13] Speaker 2: I stopped at the gate. I was making my son
[9:14] Speaker 2: to get out. I look at him as you go
[9:16] Speaker 2: out the gate. He goes, not tonight, daddy. So I
[9:19] Speaker 2: got out. Of course, I'm just, you know, I'm just
[9:23] Speaker 2: looking over my shoulder every time I think I hear something.
[9:27] Speaker 2: So I get the gate unlocked, pull through, lock it back.
[9:30] Speaker 2: So we hunted the rest of the week after that night.
[9:35] Speaker 2: Never seen or heard anything, but we were on our toes.
[9:38] Speaker 2: We just knew we were going to run into one. Well,
[9:42] Speaker 2: I got looking in the area. Back in the early 80s,
[9:45] Speaker 2: they were... Fishmen had a visual sight of one coming
[9:50] Speaker 2: on the other side of Old Muggy River. We're within
[9:54] Speaker 2: three miles of where we're at. And so I knew,
[9:59] Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure it was a Bigfoot. I just, I
[10:02] Speaker 2: didn't make eye contact. Then we went on a hunt.
[10:08] Speaker 2: And this lake, this Lake Oconee, it was just filling up.
[10:12] Speaker 2: They just finished the dam. And we were hunting. Within
[10:16] Speaker 2: a quarter mile of the lake where it's filling up
[10:18] Speaker 2: in the woods and we had a tent up. It
[10:24] Speaker 2: was me and a friend of mine and another guy
[10:30] Speaker 2: and his son and then another friend of mine. It's
[10:34] Speaker 2: a big army tent and we'd go camping and hunt.
[10:36] Speaker 2: We'd hunt there. Well, me and my friend, his name
[10:41] Speaker 2: was Michael and we were laying on a cot. Couldn't sleep.
[10:45] Speaker 2: We were young. We were We decided, you know, about
[10:50] Speaker 2: the new area we got to hunt. It looked really good.
[10:53] Speaker 2: We were just laying there kind of mumbling back and forth,
[10:57] Speaker 2: you know, talking about the morning hunt. And I was
[11:01] Speaker 2: on a little fold-out cot. We both were. And then
[11:05] Speaker 2: the other three guys, two adults and one young fellow,
[11:09] Speaker 2: they were laying the different way than we were. I
[11:12] Speaker 2: was facing the zipper on the tent. Just to give
[11:17] Speaker 2: you a little information about the area, we were probably
[11:19] Speaker 2: 10 or 12 miles from a major interstate. But back then,
[11:26] Speaker 2: there was nothing in this area where we were hunting.
[11:28] Speaker 2: I mean, no stores, nothing. And you turned off the
[11:32] Speaker 2: interstate and automatically turned left on this paved road for
[11:36] Speaker 2: a 15, 20-minute ride. And then this little field road
[11:39] Speaker 2: just all growed up next to an old house. It
[11:42] Speaker 2: looked like maybe it was built back in the early 1900s.
[11:46] Speaker 2: And we had permission to hunt the land the house
[11:48] Speaker 2: was on. So we were back. When you turn on
[11:51] Speaker 2: a little field road, we were a mile from that
[11:53] Speaker 2: dirt road. So we was in the middle of just
[11:56] Speaker 2: the middle of the woods. There's nothing around us. I mean,
[11:59] Speaker 2: we walked a lot because, you know, looking at the
[12:01] Speaker 2: place stuff, we never run up on anybody, anything that
[12:04] Speaker 2: resemble humans been in there at all. So back to
[12:09] Speaker 2: that night, like I said, my feet were facing the zippers.
[12:15] Speaker 2: And that big military tent had a zipper up the
[12:17] Speaker 2: center and a zipper to the left and right. Well,
[12:23] Speaker 2: the zipper moved. The bottom one, it was moving to
[12:27] Speaker 2: my right. And I raised up, pulled my feet up,
[12:33] Speaker 2: and I can't see it because it's dark in there.
[12:36] Speaker 2: I mean, we can see a little bit of our silhouette,
[12:38] Speaker 2: but I can't. The zipper's so small right there, it's
[12:40] Speaker 2: hard to see it. Well, it zipped and stopped. And
[12:45] Speaker 2: he moved it further over. And he moved it over
[12:48] Speaker 2: a little further. And it had got it within a
[12:52] Speaker 2: foot and a half open. And I've already got my
[12:56] Speaker 2: deer rifle. I keep it loaded in the tent when
[12:59] Speaker 2: we're down there camping always. And I'll cradle it in
[13:04] Speaker 2: between my feet on top of my sleeping bag so
[13:07] Speaker 2: it fit perfect and lined up right with the main zipper.
[13:11] Speaker 2: And I got my light. Well, it started unzipping the
[13:14] Speaker 2: center zipper. It went up about a foot, and I
[13:19] Speaker 2: turned my light on because I'm about to shoot. I mean,
[13:24] Speaker 2: I'm that scared. And we were camped in some pines,
[13:29] Speaker 2: but they was hardwoods, you know, mixed in around us.
[13:32] Speaker 2: You can't walk through there without making a noise. Me
[13:36] Speaker 2: and Michael never heard nothing walk off. Of course, we
[13:40] Speaker 2: didn't tell the adults, you know, the older guys, because they,
[13:43] Speaker 2: you know, they would make fun of us or whatever.
[13:47] Speaker 2: So we just, when we hunted the rest of the
[13:49] Speaker 2: time down there, we were together all the time hunting.
[13:52] Speaker 2: We never went far from each other. We could see
[13:55] Speaker 2: one another. Just being very paranoid. And after that night,
[14:00] Speaker 2: nothing happened down there. We camped a bunch more. But
[14:03] Speaker 2: there's no cars that come in. There was nobody there.
[14:07] Speaker 2: There was the... Two trucks that we all of us
[14:11] Speaker 2: had rode in was sitting there right when nobody was
[14:13] Speaker 2: out of the tent. I can't, I just can't, since
[14:17] Speaker 2: all these things have happened to me already, that's the
[14:20] Speaker 2: only thing I put to it. I can't see nobody
[14:22] Speaker 2: unzipping a tent during deer season with hunters inside. So,
[14:27] Speaker 2: never heard it leave. I never heard no crunching of
[14:30] Speaker 2: leaves or nothing. It was just silent. It was so silent,
[14:34] Speaker 2: my ears ringing. I was trying to listen so hard. Well,
[14:38] Speaker 2: A few years after that, I took my grandson trout
[14:45] Speaker 2: fishing in North Georgia. And we was at Upper Waters
[14:49] Speaker 2: of the Chattahoochee. And he caught his first trout. It
[14:52] Speaker 2: was great. We was, like, enjoying it, you know. And
[14:55] Speaker 2: you got your first trout, high-fiving. He was, like, 9
[15:01] Speaker 2: or 10 years old, I guess. Well, we were still
[15:05] Speaker 2: a good way from the little parking area. And it's
[15:08] Speaker 2: mountain laurel come down on both sides of the creek.
[15:11] Speaker 2: So it's like a wall. You can't really, even squatting down,
[15:15] Speaker 2: looking up in it, you can't hardly see far. Well,
[15:19] Speaker 2: we're standing there just talking on what we just called
[15:21] Speaker 2: a trout, and there's a little flat rock. So we
[15:22] Speaker 2: stand up on that rock, and that's putting the fish
[15:24] Speaker 2: on a stringer. No wind. Nobody else there. Quiet. I
[15:32] Speaker 2: looked to my right. I heard something. And about a
[15:35] Speaker 2: 12-inch or 16-inch tree, green, live, pushed over across the
[15:43] Speaker 2: creek within 25 foot of us. And I didn't bring
[15:48] Speaker 2: my pistol. And I got my grandson down. I'm saying, oh, geez.
[15:53] Speaker 2: And I started really visualizing everything. I was trying to
[15:56] Speaker 2: figure out the way we could get out of there
[15:59] Speaker 2: without the easiest path we could get to our car.
[16:04] Speaker 2: And I got up close, and that's when I seen
[16:06] Speaker 2: the whole top of the tree was all green. It
[16:08] Speaker 2: wasn't dead. The tree was alive when it was pushed over,
[16:10] Speaker 2: and I never heard nothing over the area where it
[16:12] Speaker 2: come from. But it did knock down some mountain laurel,
[16:18] Speaker 2: and I stood up on it and looked toward the
[16:21] Speaker 2: root stump of it, and there was nothing there. I
[16:24] Speaker 2: can't tell you why I fell. The only thing I
[16:26] Speaker 2: can tell you is I feel like these, once you
[16:29] Speaker 2: see them, I feel like they're I mean, it's to
[16:33] Speaker 2: the rest of your life in different ways. Made me
[16:36] Speaker 2: very wary going in the woods anytime I got a firearm.
[16:40] Speaker 2: Not saying I could stop it, but it's something better
[16:43] Speaker 2: than nothing. So we got out of there and he
[16:46] Speaker 2: was asking me, Papa, what was that? What was that?
[16:48] Speaker 2: I was sure he just fell over. But it was green.
[16:51] Speaker 2: I saw it. It was green. I'm like, I don't
[16:54] Speaker 2: know how to tell you. I said, it just didn't
[16:57] Speaker 2: blow over. Nothing. There was no wind. So I just
[17:01] Speaker 2: told him, I said, I don't know. I didn't want
[17:03] Speaker 2: to scare him. I was already in that state of
[17:05] Speaker 2: mind myself, being with no farm and having him with me.
[17:09] Speaker 2: I was afraid of him getting hurt. So the next time,
[17:15] Speaker 2: we had moved a little southeast of where we were
[17:19] Speaker 2: living at, and I had planted a peach tree in
[17:24] Speaker 2: our backyard. So within about... I don't know, six, eight years.
[17:31] Speaker 2: It got big enough. It started having fruit. And I
[17:36] Speaker 2: was learning. I was reading about it, trying to, you know,
[17:38] Speaker 2: help it produce fruit, what kind of fertilizer, stuff like that.
[17:42] Speaker 2: So it produced some real good one year. And I said, wow,
[17:44] Speaker 2: we're going to have peaches, a lot of them. Because,
[17:47] Speaker 2: I mean, they look good. They was just about ready
[17:49] Speaker 2: to pick. So every day I'd take our dog out.
[17:53] Speaker 2: Of course, I'd walk down to Peachtree and kind of
[17:54] Speaker 2: check it out. I walked down there the next morning.
[17:58] Speaker 2: It was not a peach on a tree. Nothing. There
[18:02] Speaker 2: was no signs of a dropped peach on the ground.
[18:06] Speaker 2: No seeds of a peach. And the ground's hard around it.
[18:11] Speaker 2: That's why you can't tell what's been under it. Well,
[18:15] Speaker 2: fast forward to the next January. I'm on my property
[18:21] Speaker 2: and I have a really deep ditch. It's got a
[18:25] Speaker 2: natural spring at the bottom, but it's really deep. It's
[18:27] Speaker 2: like 20 foot to the bottom. And it's kind of
[18:29] Speaker 2: tapered on each side course. Well, I just walked back
[18:33] Speaker 2: behind the house just looking. Leaves off trees, you know,
[18:36] Speaker 2: January seed. And that's where I deer hunt a lot.
[18:39] Speaker 2: So I happened to look down in the gully and
[18:42] Speaker 2: there's a little sandbar, maybe three by five. And I
[18:47] Speaker 2: see something on it. Something stepped on it. So I
[18:50] Speaker 2: found a way to slide, get down that bank to
[18:52] Speaker 2: the creek, and I took pictures. It was two footprints,
[18:58] Speaker 2: and it looked like one handprint that kept balance on
[19:01] Speaker 2: the side of the ditch. I put my shoe down
[19:03] Speaker 2: beside him, I believe I did, if I can remember correctly.
[19:07] Speaker 2: My foot's 10. It was probably 12 inches long, but
[19:12] Speaker 2: he's barefooted in January. I do have a neighbor, but
[19:20] Speaker 2: narrowing it down, somebody being barefooted in the wintertime down
[19:24] Speaker 2: in that ditch, I don't understand it. It doesn't make
[19:27] Speaker 2: sense to me other than I can only be one thing,
[19:31] Speaker 2: maybe a juvenile. You know, my peaches had just got
[19:36] Speaker 2: disappeared just the, you know, the summer before. So, anyhow,
[19:40] Speaker 2: fast forward to that, peaches come on the tree the
[19:43] Speaker 2: next year and I'm thinking they're not going to make it.
[19:46] Speaker 2: I told my wife, I said, I said, just wait
[19:49] Speaker 2: and sure enough, they were on the tree. They looked
[19:53] Speaker 2: real good. They weren't quite as full as they were
[19:56] Speaker 2: the year before, but they had a lot of peaches still.
[20:00] Speaker 2: Got there one morning, after watching them, there's not a
[20:02] Speaker 2: peach on the tree. All of them gone. And I just,
[20:07] Speaker 2: after that, my tree would, produce the bloom but the
[20:13] Speaker 2: cold weather will come and for the last few years
[20:15] Speaker 2: I had no peaches I'm assuming that's why it was
[20:19] Speaker 2: hanging out here back through our off our property through
[20:24] Speaker 2: the woods about maybe a mile there's like six chicken
[20:28] Speaker 2: houses and I'm sure I've seen them out and about
[20:33] Speaker 2: around the chicken houses you know chickens that are loose
[20:37] Speaker 2: could have been easy food just saying I had an
[20:41] Speaker 2: experience with, and this was just a feeling. I had
[20:47] Speaker 2: went back to fish the upper waters of the Chattahoochee
[20:52] Speaker 2: and I was fishing and I caught my limit of
[20:54] Speaker 2: trout and I was fixing to go back to my
[20:56] Speaker 2: shrub and I got this feeling that something was watching me.
[21:01] Speaker 2: I hadn't thought about nothing. I mean, I was enjoying
[21:03] Speaker 2: my fishing. I was into the fishing. I wasn't thinking
[21:05] Speaker 2: about anything, but Couldn't find out after I come home
[21:10] Speaker 2: and did a little bit of research. That area's pretty
[21:13] Speaker 2: hot for sightings or things happening, which wasn't far from
[21:17] Speaker 2: where the tree had fell in front of me and
[21:20] Speaker 2: my grandson that Saturday. So, seems like I'm leaving something out.
[21:27] Speaker 2: I do have the two times they hollered, the one
[21:31] Speaker 2: time the zipper on the tent, the one I seen
[21:33] Speaker 2: in my bedroom window. I've never seen another one other
[21:39] Speaker 2: than just these things happening, or every time I go
[21:42] Speaker 2: in the woods, it seems like something weird. But I
[21:45] Speaker 2: guess that's it.
[21:47] Speaker 1: When you had that sighting in 73, where was your
[21:51] Speaker 1: bed in the bedroom in relation to that window that
[21:53] Speaker 1: you looked out and saw them on the front porch?
[21:57] Speaker 2: We had a bunk bed that they had set apart.
[22:01] Speaker 2: The window was kind of center of the room. My
[22:04] Speaker 2: brothers to my left, our feet was toward the window.
[22:08] Speaker 2: And the door was, of course, behind us to the
[22:11] Speaker 2: left to go out in the hall. My mother had
[22:14] Speaker 2: these blinds that she didn't have to pull down blinds.
[22:17] Speaker 2: She just had these light curtains you'd actually see through,
[22:20] Speaker 2: you know. But they were tied off about halfway down.
[22:24] Speaker 2: And I didn't get up there. My brother saw it
[22:29] Speaker 2: first and he wouldn't talk about it. I should have
[22:30] Speaker 2: said that. He would not. My son won't talk about it.
[22:35] Speaker 2: It's just It's like it's taboo or something you shouldn't mention,
[22:40] Speaker 2: you know. But my brother, I asked him if all
[22:44] Speaker 2: he'd do is grin at me. He didn't want to
[22:47] Speaker 2: go there. And my son said, didn't nothing happen? We
[22:50] Speaker 2: didn't hear nothing down there, Daddy. You know we didn't.
[22:52] Speaker 2: I said, my goodness, I don't know why you're in
[22:53] Speaker 2: denial so much. But I'm trying to think. It seems like, Vic,
[22:58] Speaker 2: there's something else I'm leaving out. I had that one
[23:02] Speaker 2: experience with a tent zipper in Greene County. standing on
[23:07] Speaker 2: the porch was Baldwin County, which Green County, Baldwin County is,
[23:12] Speaker 2: I mean, not really, they're far apart, but not, not
[23:15] Speaker 2: that you couldn't travel it, you know. I did meet
[23:18] Speaker 2: a man in Oglethorpe County, uh, one morning. We was
[23:24] Speaker 2: in a, one of these old breakfast places having breakfast
[23:28] Speaker 2: during deer season. That's what come out of the woods.
[23:31] Speaker 2: The guys at the table I was with, one of
[23:34] Speaker 2: them had saw something on our land, um, It was
[23:37] Speaker 2: Oglethorpe County. He said it was squatting behind a tree
[23:41] Speaker 2: that had fell over. He said, man, I looked at it.
[23:43] Speaker 2: It was on my side. It rode side by side
[23:44] Speaker 2: like a golf cart. And he looked out through the
[23:47] Speaker 2: woods and he said, what is that? So he stopped
[23:50] Speaker 2: and backed back up and it turned and run on upright.
[23:54] Speaker 2: He said, but it wasn't tall. He wasn't three foot tall.
[23:58] Speaker 2: So they were joking about a table. Well, there's a
[24:00] Speaker 2: table next to us. A couple of men sitting there.
[24:04] Speaker 2: One man looked over at us and said, y'all laugh
[24:06] Speaker 2: all you want. Well, I said, what? He says, man,
[24:09] Speaker 2: I've been mapping these things on the Broad River for years.
[24:14] Speaker 2: And the guy that seen that on our club asked him,
[24:17] Speaker 2: what do you mean mapping? He said, I know where
[24:19] Speaker 2: they travel every year. I said, I know they go
[24:22] Speaker 2: down the Broad River. When y'all get a minute, come outside.
[24:26] Speaker 2: I got a map. I'll show you. And we all
[24:28] Speaker 2: go outside. You know, we barely finished our breakfast and
[24:31] Speaker 2: He showed where his sightings were up and down the river,
[24:34] Speaker 2: and he said, they're nomads. He said, they go where
[24:36] Speaker 2: the food is. And he said, I see them every year. And,
[24:41] Speaker 2: of course, we had 2,200 acres on the Broad River.
[24:46] Speaker 2: And after all my instances, I was very paranoid on
[24:51] Speaker 2: that place because if any place could have them, it could.
[24:54] Speaker 2: It had a hog population was, you see, 20 hogs
[24:58] Speaker 2: every morning, every hunt. Not include all the deer and
[25:02] Speaker 2: other wildlife, but hogs were everywhere. But that one in
[25:07] Speaker 2: Baldwin County, that was the one I saw face-to-face. And
[25:11] Speaker 2: I was within 15 foot of it. If my bedroom
[25:16] Speaker 2: was that far, it might not have been that far.
[25:18] Speaker 2: Probably not. But it's left this lasting impression on me
[25:25] Speaker 2: that I look, I watch, I look closer than I
[25:30] Speaker 2: used to when I walked through the woods. Even though
[25:32] Speaker 2: I stalked and came to my deer stand and tried
[25:34] Speaker 2: to be quiet. But, uh, I never seen anything here
[25:39] Speaker 2: at the house other than footprints. And footprints to me
[25:41] Speaker 2: tell me there's a living creature somewhere close by, you know.
[25:45] Speaker 1: Was there any place on that 2,200 acre spread you
[25:48] Speaker 1: used to have that you avoided?
[25:51] Speaker 2: Yes, sir. I talked to, uh, this, uh, newspaper writer. Uh,
[25:57] Speaker 2: His last name is Ford, Wayne Ford, in Athens, Georgia.
[26:04] Speaker 2: And we've been talking for a while, and he does
[26:07] Speaker 2: research and reports on Bigfoot for the Athens Herald newspaper.
[26:14] Speaker 2: So I found out from him the back left corner
[26:16] Speaker 2: of this property is a creek running into Broad River
[26:19] Speaker 2: called Goose Creek. And he said that through the years...
[26:27] Speaker 2: On that creek, not on the property we were on,
[26:29] Speaker 2: but on a creek further back from the river, there
[26:33] Speaker 2: had been a deer hunting camp. They called me. And
[26:37] Speaker 2: he said, you know, he knew Wayne. He told Wayne,
[26:42] Speaker 2: he said, you need to come out and look at this.
[26:43] Speaker 2: He said, I see this every day. Every day we hunt,
[26:46] Speaker 2: I see it. And Wayne's like, what? He said, yeah,
[26:49] Speaker 2: I promise. So he goes out there. So... The people,
[26:54] Speaker 2: the deer hunters leased the property, live on the property.
[26:58] Speaker 2: And this older gentleman in the house, I'm not sure
[27:01] Speaker 2: he never mentioned anybody else, but that's who he talked
[27:04] Speaker 2: to when he first got there. And he told him,
[27:08] Speaker 2: he was asking about the deer camp. He didn't mention
[27:11] Speaker 2: anything about Bigfoot. He just asked him about the deer hunters.
[27:16] Speaker 2: And he said, they camp behind my dam. He had
[27:18] Speaker 2: a lake there off Bigfoot. to the side of his house. So,
[27:21] Speaker 2: he said, you want to go over there? I said,
[27:23] Speaker 2: you can walk or drive. So, he drove his truck around,
[27:25] Speaker 2: of course, as soon as he come around the corner,
[27:27] Speaker 2: you could see the campsite and everything. He was hid
[27:29] Speaker 2: by that dam from his house. Yeah, some of them
[27:33] Speaker 2: was camping in the back of their trucks, you know,
[27:35] Speaker 2: with a camper shell and some on tents. When Wayne
[27:39] Speaker 2: walks up, he mentioned it, and they all act like
[27:44] Speaker 2: he was crazy. Like, ain't nobody said that. And, uh,
[27:49] Speaker 2: He said, well, I was told, and he told the story,
[27:53] Speaker 2: and he said, well, the guy he talked to wasn't
[27:57] Speaker 2: there that day. But one of them finally said something.
[28:01] Speaker 2: He said, well, I can tell you this. I can't
[28:04] Speaker 2: tell you what it is, so I'm not saying it.
[28:07] Speaker 2: But I have seen right below our camp, they was,
[28:13] Speaker 2: I guess, he talked like it was a grassy little field,
[28:16] Speaker 2: not very big. But standing there looking at me one
[28:20] Speaker 2: morning when I come in from out of the woods.
[28:23] Speaker 2: And he said, he just turned and blend back in
[28:25] Speaker 2: the woods on two legs. So I was very leery.
[28:28] Speaker 2: I can tell you experience. I was, I went back
[28:31] Speaker 2: turkey hunting on that 2,200 acres. The deer lease next
[28:35] Speaker 2: to us had 1,500 acres. And Vic, I couldn't tell
[28:40] Speaker 2: you how many thousand acres from, I probably were ended.
[28:44] Speaker 2: To get to the end of 2,200 acres, it took
[28:47] Speaker 2: me almost an hour on my four wheeler. to get
[28:49] Speaker 2: that far. It's huge. You can't imagine it until you're
[28:52] Speaker 2: on it. But anyhow, on the backside, Goose Creek runs
[28:55] Speaker 2: into Broad River. And I was turkey hunting. I didn't
[29:00] Speaker 2: hear a turkey that back there, but I was walking
[29:03] Speaker 2: and listening and I called someone and the field road
[29:05] Speaker 2: goes forever. So I get to where the road goes
[29:08] Speaker 2: to an embankment. When it goes to an embankment, Goose
[29:11] Speaker 2: Creek's right down in front of me. And it scared
[29:14] Speaker 2: the life out of me because I'm expecting something, you know,
[29:18] Speaker 2: Bigfoot nature to happen. I mean, it just looks like
[29:20] Speaker 2: one of those places. I'm like, man, I got my shotgun.
[29:24] Speaker 2: I shoot three and a half inch, you know, magnum
[29:26] Speaker 2: loads of turkey. I walk over to the edge of
[29:30] Speaker 2: Goose Creek. I'm looking down into the, the creek's not
[29:34] Speaker 2: two inches deep. You know, it's just a slow moving
[29:36] Speaker 2: stream that goes out in the Broad River. and out
[29:40] Speaker 2: of nowhere there was an undercut under that bank and
[29:44] Speaker 2: I bet you there's a 300 pound hog come out
[29:46] Speaker 2: of that he was laying in the water I guess
[29:50] Speaker 2: almost dropped my shotgun I done built myself up that
[29:55] Speaker 2: I'm gonna see this thing here cause the the guy
[29:58] Speaker 2: that saw it His name was, last name was Moon.
[30:05] Speaker 2: And I wasn't too far from where he said he
[30:07] Speaker 2: seen the thing that run on two legs run away.
[30:11] Speaker 2: And I mean, I don't have no reason not to
[30:12] Speaker 2: believe him because they talked about it. I was talking
[30:15] Speaker 2: about it. You know what? Nothing will. Back up just
[30:20] Speaker 2: a minute. Mr. The guy that run the club. We've
[30:25] Speaker 2: been trying to get that property. It was a Christian
[30:27] Speaker 2: retreat for father and sons. And they had four-wheeler trails,
[30:31] Speaker 2: and they had jumps, and they even had a full
[30:35] Speaker 2: kitchen covered gazebo-like in concrete floor. It was just out
[30:43] Speaker 2: in the middle of the woods. And it had a
[30:45] Speaker 2: place where you'd drive your four-wheeler or motorcycle under. It
[30:49] Speaker 2: was covered where you could wash it off. It had
[30:51] Speaker 2: big drains in the floor. It had showers at the
[30:54] Speaker 2: back because they got so muddy, they have all their
[30:56] Speaker 2: equipment on what I was told, what Ronnie told me.
[30:58] Speaker 2: washing the mud off of them. Well, he finally got
[31:02] Speaker 2: the lease. He didn't have enough people. And I'll be
[31:06] Speaker 2: honest with you, I don't remember how I found him.
[31:08] Speaker 2: I found him by looking for deer land. And I
[31:12] Speaker 2: was the only one that wasn't a close friend. I
[31:15] Speaker 2: was kind of the outsider, but they took me in.
[31:18] Speaker 2: First thing Ronnie said, when he was showing me the property,
[31:22] Speaker 2: actually showing me and my son, he took us all
[31:26] Speaker 2: over The field roads, we took a whole Saturday to
[31:28] Speaker 2: do it. I mean, you really didn't see it at all,
[31:30] Speaker 2: just the main roads. Well, we got down on the
[31:33] Speaker 2: far side where the corner of the property and it
[31:36] Speaker 2: meets the river. So we cut the foils off. So
[31:40] Speaker 2: Ronnie said, well, what do y'all think about this place?
[31:42] Speaker 2: Of course, we liked it. What we seen looks good, Ronnie.
[31:45] Speaker 2: They said, well, we got deer, turkey, hogs, of course, everywhere,
[31:52] Speaker 2: and occasional bigfoot. And I went, what? He cranked his
[31:56] Speaker 2: thing up and left. You know, so we cranked up
[31:59] Speaker 2: and we were following him. And my son's next to
[32:01] Speaker 2: me on his four-wheeler. And he said, God, I wish
[32:04] Speaker 2: I hadn't said Bigfoot to you. You probably won't even
[32:06] Speaker 2: hunt down here. You know, he was, he knows how
[32:08] Speaker 2: it affected me. And Ronnie wasn't joking. Ronnie, what did
[32:12] Speaker 2: you mean by that last part? He said, Bigfoot? Yeah,
[32:14] Speaker 2: I said, he's down here. And I was like, I
[32:18] Speaker 2: don't know how he knows. I just looked at him.
[32:21] Speaker 2: I said, you sure about that? He said, I'm 100% sure.
[32:23] Speaker 2: And I didn't, I was hoping he'd just keep talking
[32:27] Speaker 2: and tell me his story, but he didn't. So I
[32:32] Speaker 2: hunted down there for three years, I think it was.
[32:36] Speaker 2: And they wanted family in, you know, so they beefed
[32:40] Speaker 2: up the rules and changed some of the things. So
[32:42] Speaker 2: I didn't get to hunt down there about three years,
[32:45] Speaker 2: I think it was. But there was times that, you know,
[32:51] Speaker 2: being in the woods, and I don't know if you
[32:54] Speaker 2: get that feeling when you's hunting, But it's just like,
[32:59] Speaker 2: out of the blue, it's like, you just stop and
[33:01] Speaker 2: really start looking. You feel like something's watching you, I guess.
[33:05] Speaker 2: It don't happen much. I'm glad of it, but it
[33:08] Speaker 2: has happened to me a few times in between all
[33:11] Speaker 2: this stuff. You know, the tree falling across the trail,
[33:16] Speaker 2: you know, I can't explain it. The zipper coming up
[33:19] Speaker 2: on that tent, I can't explain it. All I know
[33:23] Speaker 2: is there's things that happen in all... In your mind,
[33:27] Speaker 2: there's no way, you know, those things should have took place.
[33:32] Speaker 2: You know, I mean, people might say, yeah, there's might
[33:36] Speaker 2: have been a guy going to come rob you at
[33:37] Speaker 2: the tent and all. A deer hunting, you know, camp
[33:40] Speaker 2: is not one to rob if you really got a
[33:44] Speaker 2: little bit of sense. And not being anything around, I mean,
[33:49] Speaker 2: anything around us, that's what always got me. And my buddy, Michael,
[33:54] Speaker 2: He was so scared. He wouldn't go in the stand
[33:56] Speaker 2: until it was already getting light. He said, I'm not
[34:00] Speaker 2: walking in the woods in the dark no more. And
[34:05] Speaker 2: I remember nothing else happened down there. That was Greene County.
[34:08] Speaker 2: Baldwin County, where we live, I was on the porch. Oglethorpe,
[34:15] Speaker 2: just some of the things, you know, they told me about.
[34:19] Speaker 2: Jasper County, Georgia, on the old Muggy River. Well, those
[34:22] Speaker 2: two you know, I guess other words saying they hollered
[34:27] Speaker 2: at each other to locate, I reckon. I don't know.
[34:31] Speaker 2: But it was extremely loud. It's like I could feel
[34:34] Speaker 2: it in my chest. It was weird. Then the bottom
[34:38] Speaker 2: end of it, it just gurgled. It was like it
[34:40] Speaker 2: was huge, you know. It's just like the sound of
[34:42] Speaker 2: an elephant when he does his main thing and then
[34:45] Speaker 2: he stops and comes down. That little time he's gurgling,
[34:48] Speaker 2: that's what it sounded like. I mean, it was, you know,
[34:51] Speaker 2: it was 100 yards from me. And nothing between me
[34:54] Speaker 2: and him, but air. I mean, there was no trees
[34:56] Speaker 2: or nothing. I was on the edge of the beaver pond. Man,
[35:01] Speaker 2: for the life of me, I can't think of anything else.
[35:04] Speaker 1: No, those are a lot of good details.
[35:07] Speaker 2: They are.
[35:08] Speaker 1: Bouncing back to what happened when you were in your
[35:10] Speaker 1: bedroom that night, was there ever a night after that
[35:14] Speaker 1: that you slept without your windows covered?
[35:17] Speaker 2: I don't remember I ever covered them. I really don't.
[35:20] Speaker 2: I just remember... I just remember that night. There's some
[35:24] Speaker 2: reason I can't. Mama might have let him down. You know,
[35:28] Speaker 2: I can't tell you to be honest with you.
[35:30] Speaker 1: Wow. If you had to sleep like that, I can't
[35:32] Speaker 1: imagine your sleep was very good because once bitten twice shy.
[35:36] Speaker 1: If you look out that window as a kid and
[35:38] Speaker 1: you see that Sasquatch on the front porch, I can't
[35:41] Speaker 1: see how you could have been settled enough to sleep well.
[35:44] Speaker 2: I'm sure I didn't. I'm not sure I didn't sleep
[35:47] Speaker 2: in Mama Daddy's room for a while. just with my
[35:49] Speaker 2: sleeping bag. I don't recall doing none of that, but
[35:53] Speaker 2: I just remember I could close my eyes right now
[35:56] Speaker 2: and tell somebody how to draw it, how it looked.
[36:00] Speaker 2: You could see in between his arms, you know, because
[36:03] Speaker 2: he was kind of, I want to say maybe tilted
[36:06] Speaker 2: over a little bit trying to look in because he
[36:09] Speaker 2: was taller than where the curtains come together at the top.
[36:14] Speaker 2: And his elbows were out like he was almost squatting
[36:17] Speaker 2: just to look in. I don't know how long he'd
[36:19] Speaker 2: been there. He had to see my brother leave. And
[36:23] Speaker 2: I guess he saw me. I mean, the room was
[36:27] Speaker 2: kind of lit up. It was a moonlit night. I
[36:30] Speaker 2: don't know how full it was, but you could see
[36:34] Speaker 2: in that room. Once your eyes got used to it,
[36:37] Speaker 2: there's shadows off your bed, you know, and stuff. And
[36:41] Speaker 2: that's the reason I could see his outline. I mean,
[36:43] Speaker 2: he was... It was hair. It wasn't fur. You know,
[36:46] Speaker 2: I could see it just hanging off. It looked like
[36:48] Speaker 2: hanging off his elbow. And the head was just the
[36:52] Speaker 2: cone shape. You know, it wasn't to a point. It
[36:55] Speaker 2: was more, I guess you say, more rounded. It might
[36:59] Speaker 2: have had more hair up there, and you couldn't see
[37:00] Speaker 2: the cone. I don't know, but you couldn't see the ears.
[37:03] Speaker 2: It was like all the hair went right down to
[37:05] Speaker 2: the shoulders, you know, and down his arms. I kept
[37:11] Speaker 2: looking at his face. you know, and I couldn't, I
[37:13] Speaker 2: couldn't see it, but I was looking at it just
[37:17] Speaker 2: because it was black, you know, and it's just the outline.
[37:20] Speaker 2: I never looked down at his knees and couldn't saw
[37:23] Speaker 2: his feet because the window's got, you know, gap maybe two,
[37:28] Speaker 2: about three inches off the floor. There's one in the
[37:30] Speaker 2: tall windows that house had in it. I wouldn't, I
[37:33] Speaker 2: hadn't bought a house with that kind of window in
[37:35] Speaker 2: a sense. I just, it just, one of them things,
[37:38] Speaker 2: I just, I didn't like that, but, Yeah, I mean,
[37:43] Speaker 2: I've duck hunted, Vic. I've been in some swampy places
[37:47] Speaker 2: deer hunting. And I've never seen tracks. I've never seen nothing.
[37:51] Speaker 2: And some places are there, you know. It's just... I
[37:57] Speaker 2: was coming out of Atlanta in Jasper County. That's where
[38:01] Speaker 2: the two, you know, hollered at each other. And the
[38:06] Speaker 2: lower end of that property... Before you ever get to
[38:11] Speaker 2: the beaver pond, the first one where my son hunted
[38:13] Speaker 2: was palmetto. Thick. I've never seen it out in the
[38:18] Speaker 2: woods like that. You see pictures in Florida like that.
[38:22] Speaker 2: But it was like a field of palmetto. And it
[38:25] Speaker 2: went through the upper end of the beaver pond through
[38:28] Speaker 2: some of the thickest stuff you can imagine to open
[38:33] Speaker 2: under pines. I mean, maybe three or four acres of palmetto,
[38:37] Speaker 2: you know, though. flat-bladed-looking stuff. And I was coming out
[38:44] Speaker 2: one night, and I had hunted my son's stand. I
[38:48] Speaker 2: didn't want to walk all the way down while I
[38:49] Speaker 2: was by myself. He didn't come with me. And that's
[38:53] Speaker 2: how scared it made me. I hate to say that
[38:56] Speaker 2: as a dog, but I was coming out, and I
[38:58] Speaker 2: heard something in the palmetto coming. And it was going
[39:03] Speaker 2: to cross in front of me, so I wasn't going
[39:05] Speaker 2: to walk any further, so I squatted down. And To me,
[39:10] Speaker 2: to take my safety off, I'm pretty scared, you know.
[39:14] Speaker 2: And I took my safety off. And I'm sitting there
[39:19] Speaker 2: in my light, fixing to click it on. And what
[39:21] Speaker 2: it is, it's come out. It come out, finally. During Armadillo.
[39:26] Speaker 2: I thought I was going to have a heart attack.
[39:29] Speaker 2: It just... just, you know, it sounds like the biggest
[39:32] Speaker 2: thing in the woods ever heard because of Palmetto. You know, together,
[39:37] Speaker 2: I mean, I don't know. It puts you in a
[39:40] Speaker 2: state of mind like you saw that one. You probably
[39:42] Speaker 2: think about it. I assume you do. You probably think
[39:45] Speaker 2: about that, too, when you go in the woods. It's
[39:47] Speaker 2: going to be us. Am I going to see one today?
[39:49] Speaker 2: You know, it's always in the back of your mind,
[39:51] Speaker 2: I'll imagine. Oh, yeah.
[39:54] Speaker 1: And once you have an experience like that, it always is. Yeah, dealers,
[39:59] Speaker 1: they sound like elephants in the woods, so I get it.
[40:01] Speaker 2: I do. Yes, sir. Definitely.
[40:06] Speaker 1: It sounds to me like he was, from what you
[40:08] Speaker 1: told us, but just for clarity, bouncing back to that
[40:11] Speaker 1: experience when you were in your bedroom that night, was
[40:15] Speaker 1: he facing your direction when you first laid eyes on him,
[40:18] Speaker 1: or a different direction?
[40:21] Speaker 2: No, he was facing it because the elbows were bent
[40:25] Speaker 2: like back, like off the porch, facing the yard. You know,
[40:31] Speaker 2: they were bent back. His hands was up front. You
[40:34] Speaker 2: could see him between his body and his elbow. You know,
[40:37] Speaker 2: that's when I saw like the hair hanging on his elbow.
[40:41] Speaker 2: And he would rock a little bit, not much. But
[40:45] Speaker 2: when he moved a little bit, I could see that
[40:48] Speaker 2: hair sway. But I just keep remembering that. I was
[40:52] Speaker 2: trying to see his face, but I could see through
[40:54] Speaker 2: the opening in between his body and his arms. I
[40:59] Speaker 2: couldn't make out the hands. It was just too black.
[41:01] Speaker 2: I just couldn't make out the hands. I didn't see
[41:05] Speaker 2: the fingers, you know, opened up, anything like that. But
[41:10] Speaker 2: best I could tell, Vic, he was facing me.
[41:13] Speaker 1: If he was seemingly facing you and you saw the
[41:16] Speaker 1: gap between his arms and his torso... Did his torso
[41:20] Speaker 1: seem to have much of a taper or was it
[41:22] Speaker 1: just blocky?
[41:26] Speaker 2: He might have been an adult, but he was doing
[41:29] Speaker 2: like a squat kind of thing. And it's hard to
[41:30] Speaker 2: tell the midsection. You know, he looked bigger, I guess,
[41:35] Speaker 2: because he's squatting. Or almost, he didn't squat. He's just
[41:39] Speaker 2: kind of like bending down, you know, like you try
[41:41] Speaker 2: to go under a tree limb. You know, he's kind
[41:43] Speaker 2: of like, and he's, I know his face was facing us.
[41:48] Speaker 2: I mean... Just by the way his body posture was
[41:53] Speaker 2: and how his elbows were out to the side and
[41:56] Speaker 2: away from me. You know, he had to be facing us.
[42:01] Speaker 2: I don't know what I'd done if I could have
[42:03] Speaker 2: seen his eyes and stuff. It might have freaked me
[42:05] Speaker 2: out even worse. When my daddy and my brother Terry
[42:13] Speaker 2: went around the house, both of them come around. When
[42:17] Speaker 2: daddy come back in, you know, he They were unloading
[42:19] Speaker 2: the shotguns in the kitchen. Mom was in there just
[42:23] Speaker 2: scared to death. Of course, see anything, daddy told her no.
[42:28] Speaker 2: I can remember that, no. I just think something happened
[42:34] Speaker 2: between that point and my daddy because when he come
[42:37] Speaker 2: home that day, just a few days after that, we
[42:40] Speaker 2: just come out of the woods from that big green
[42:42] Speaker 2: space that's flooded, you know, in front of our house.
[42:46] Speaker 2: You saw the vision of a building and We just
[42:49] Speaker 2: come out of there, and he said, hey, boys. Hey,
[42:52] Speaker 2: how you doing? You know, it was a small talk
[42:54] Speaker 2: for a second. He said, hey, I don't want y'all
[42:56] Speaker 2: to go back across the road. And like I said before,
[42:59] Speaker 2: my daddy wasn't the one you questioned. You know, he
[43:02] Speaker 2: was that type of thing. He didn't talk a whole lot,
[43:05] Speaker 2: but when he says something, you better pay attention to it.
[43:09] Speaker 2: And not only for just being obedient, but, you know,
[43:14] Speaker 2: that belt will come off real quick if you, you know.
[43:17] Speaker 2: But when he said something, it was always, it had
[43:22] Speaker 2: substance to it, you know. And you knew when he
[43:24] Speaker 2: said that, it was like, okay, but why? You know,
[43:27] Speaker 2: we're saying that to ourselves. We didn't go back over.
[43:31] Speaker 2: We lived there, I think it was three years. I
[43:35] Speaker 2: think we lived there two or three. He just got
[43:39] Speaker 2: transferred down there to build a men's clothing. He was
[43:45] Speaker 2: superintendent over maintenance. And they sent him down there with
[43:48] Speaker 2: a crew to get it up and running. And that's
[43:52] Speaker 2: all he was going to do, just live down there.
[43:54] Speaker 2: Because it was an hour and a half ride back
[43:56] Speaker 2: to where we used to live. So they just bought
[43:59] Speaker 2: that house for that meantime while we were there.
[44:02] Speaker 1: Yeah, it does sound to me like he must have
[44:06] Speaker 1: seen something to respond that way. Now, you watched that
[44:11] Speaker 1: Sasquatch on your front porch for about 30 seconds before
[44:14] Speaker 1: you left the bedroom. Looking back on what happened that night,
[44:18] Speaker 1: do you kind of kick yourself and wish you would
[44:20] Speaker 1: have stayed longer to watch him, or are you glad
[44:23] Speaker 1: that you left?
[44:27] Speaker 2: I've got to be honest with you. I'm glad I left.
[44:32] Speaker 2: I was froze for a little bit, you know, the
[44:34] Speaker 2: first sight. Just looking at it, it froze me. I
[44:41] Speaker 2: couldn't run if I wanted to then. And when I
[44:44] Speaker 2: did leave, I felt like I was weak, you know?
[44:50] Speaker 2: Like I didn't hardly have enough to get up and
[44:52] Speaker 2: go to get out of there. But it was due
[44:55] Speaker 2: to fright, I'm sure.
[44:56] Speaker 1: Oh, it had to be. Yeah, that's totally natural. Now,
[45:01] Speaker 1: you told us that he was taller than the spot
[45:04] Speaker 1: at the top of the window where the blinds were anchored,
[45:07] Speaker 1: but how tall would you say he must have been? Oh.
[45:16] Speaker 2: Seven, maybe, because the top of the window, remember, the
[45:22] Speaker 2: walls are eight foot tall, and the window, they might
[45:26] Speaker 2: have been a foot from the top of the ceiling,
[45:31] Speaker 2: you know, where the window started, and he was squatting
[45:34] Speaker 2: down to see in. Seven, seven and a half, maybe.
[45:39] Speaker 1: Yeah, when you're a kid, you see something that looks
[45:41] Speaker 1: like that. And on top of that, it's a seven-footer
[45:45] Speaker 1: or taller. That's really going to get your motor running.
[45:47] Speaker 1: I can only imagine. Did he seem to be nervous
[45:51] Speaker 1: spending time hanging out on your front porch the way
[45:54] Speaker 1: he was or at ease?
[45:57] Speaker 2: He did that left to right very slightly. You know, leaning.
[46:05] Speaker 2: I guess you'd call it rocking. But not... Just enough
[46:10] Speaker 2: where I saw the hair, you know, I could tell
[46:13] Speaker 2: he was moving it, you know, because he was moving
[46:15] Speaker 2: just so easy. So it was hard. It's the only
[46:24] Speaker 2: movement I saw. I don't know if he was nervous.
[46:27] Speaker 2: He looked more like he was trying to figure us out.
[46:33] Speaker 2: You know, we'd been across the street in that pond
[46:35] Speaker 2: a bunch. Maybe he lived somewhere in there, you know,
[46:38] Speaker 2: and they just come in there and started building them houses.
[46:41] Speaker 2: I don't know for sure, you know. I mean, it
[46:45] Speaker 2: was like a gaze, like, I'm taking all this in
[46:48] Speaker 2: to try to figure out what to do next, you know.
[46:53] Speaker 2: I mean, he was big enough, he'd step through that window,
[46:56] Speaker 2: you know. It wouldn't have stopped him if he wanted to. Oh, sure.
[47:00] Speaker 2: And we always thought that it was just glass, you know.
[47:03] Speaker 2: I mean, something that big can... Can do a lot
[47:08] Speaker 2: and very, very quick if they really wanted to.
[47:11] Speaker 1: He could have come through the wall if he wanted to,
[47:14] Speaker 1: but he just didn't want to do that. Your dad
[47:18] Speaker 1: obviously was pretty unsettled after what happened that night. But
[47:22] Speaker 1: what about your mom? After all the dust had settled,
[47:25] Speaker 1: did she stay upset for a long time or did
[47:28] Speaker 1: she eventually settle back down?
[47:32] Speaker 2: She watched us, I think, a little more than normal,
[47:35] Speaker 2: even in her front yard. It was like she'd just
[47:40] Speaker 2: holler out, y'all okay out there? You know, more than normal,
[47:44] Speaker 2: checking on us. But I know why she was doing it.
[47:48] Speaker 2: I mean, she believed us. She believed me and Terry.
[47:51] Speaker 1: Well, I'm glad she believed you. When you had that
[47:55] Speaker 1: second experience, it said you were less than 100 yards
[47:58] Speaker 1: from what was vocalizing. I think we know what it was.
[48:00] Speaker 1: But when it vocalized the way it did, you told
[48:04] Speaker 1: us how loud it was, but did you feel nauseous afterwards?
[48:09] Speaker 2: No, I think I felt fear. I don't remember. I
[48:12] Speaker 2: just remember you make any noise at all. There's a deer.
[48:18] Speaker 2: You watch a deer. He looks straight at you pretty much.
[48:24] Speaker 2: Even through thick woods, if he's moving along, you snap
[48:29] Speaker 2: a limb or do something. And that's what I was
[48:32] Speaker 2: so afraid of, making noise coming down that tree. Because
[48:36] Speaker 2: once I moved, I locate from a pen. I mean,
[48:40] Speaker 2: he might have already saw me. I don't know the vision,
[48:42] Speaker 2: you know. Stuff I read, they say they might be nocturnal.
[48:47] Speaker 2: They can see very well at night. I didn't feel nauseous.
[48:50] Speaker 2: I was just, I was afraid for my son because
[48:53] Speaker 2: when that one yelled up the third beaver pond, he
[48:58] Speaker 2: was on the very first pond where that creek started.
[49:01] Speaker 2: And I just, I was wanting to get to him,
[49:07] Speaker 2: you know. I don't remember being nauseated or anything. I
[49:10] Speaker 2: do remember when it hollered, it felt like my chest moved.
[49:16] Speaker 2: It was like a vibration or something. I don't. But
[49:21] Speaker 2: I felt it. I come around, and I'm looking out
[49:26] Speaker 2: straight across this grassy flat. I can see. I can
[49:32] Speaker 2: see with my naked eye. I mean, the moon was
[49:33] Speaker 2: so bright. Yeah. I know it was over there. Maybe
[49:38] Speaker 2: it didn't want to come out in the open area.
[49:39] Speaker 2: I don't know. Well, it vocalized like that, and the
[49:45] Speaker 2: other one turned right back within maybe five seconds, ten
[49:51] Speaker 2: seconds tops. It wasn't far between. That's when I come
[49:55] Speaker 2: down to the tree. I come down. I got about
[49:57] Speaker 2: six foot off the ground. I jumped. I remember jumping
[50:00] Speaker 2: out of my stand, landed on my feet, and was running.
[50:07] Speaker 2: And to get to my son, then he, of course,
[50:09] Speaker 2: was telling me not to stop. He was very frightened.
[50:13] Speaker 2: And he won't talk about it today. I try to
[50:14] Speaker 2: talk to him about it, you know. Every now and then,
[50:16] Speaker 2: he'll send me something on my phone. He just sent
[50:19] Speaker 2: me something the other day. Bigfoot standing in the clearing
[50:22] Speaker 2: with the moon behind him, and a deer hunter walked out.
[50:26] Speaker 2: And he said, there you are, daddy. You know, messaged
[50:28] Speaker 2: me all the time, but that's a little joke between
[50:31] Speaker 2: me and him. But I think he believed. I don't
[50:37] Speaker 2: think he's willing to just say it for some reason.
[50:41] Speaker 2: I don't know. Well, you know, it is.
[50:43] Speaker 1: A lot of people, they have different ways of dealing
[50:45] Speaker 1: with an experience like that. But you told us how
[50:48] Speaker 1: he didn't want to get out and deal with the
[50:50] Speaker 1: gate that night because he was so frightened. But after that,
[50:53] Speaker 1: it sounds like he still headed back into the woods
[50:55] Speaker 1: to do things. But did you get the impression he
[50:58] Speaker 1: was compromised after that, even when he would go back
[51:01] Speaker 1: into the woods?
[51:04] Speaker 2: It was different. So we hunted the rest of that
[51:06] Speaker 2: week and knowing what we heard and then not knowing
[51:14] Speaker 2: where this thing main hangout is, you know, are we
[51:19] Speaker 2: next to it or is this where he normally comes
[51:21] Speaker 2: and hunt because it's open? Them deer had crossed to
[51:25] Speaker 2: his side that I've been seeing for three nights in
[51:27] Speaker 2: a row. And I don't know if that one above
[51:32] Speaker 2: them was, they were fishing a close in on them,
[51:35] Speaker 2: you know, I don't know, but, I mean, it was,
[51:39] Speaker 2: they were together. They were, they were locating themselves so
[51:44] Speaker 2: they could do whatever they were going to do that night.
[51:47] Speaker 1: Yeah, they're really good at coordinating like that. They really are.
[51:51] Speaker 1: When you, Mike, and the other three guys had that
[51:53] Speaker 1: experience of Lake Oconee in that tent that night, what
[51:57] Speaker 1: kind of soil or vegetation was right outside the door?
[52:00] Speaker 1: Because he told us about the zipper opening, moving up.
[52:04] Speaker 1: Was that soil or the vegetation outside good for trapping prints,
[52:08] Speaker 1: or was it so that it wouldn't trap any prints?
[52:13] Speaker 2: No, you couldn't. It was covered with leaves and pine straw.
[52:18] Speaker 2: It's mixed pines and hardwoods, you know. Like I said,
[52:23] Speaker 2: I didn't even hear anything walk away. That's what really
[52:25] Speaker 2: got me. When I turned the light on, it let
[52:29] Speaker 2: go of the top zipper, the center zipper, and there
[52:32] Speaker 2: was no sound. Nothing running off. No bipedal steps. No...
[52:39] Speaker 2: I'd knock on myself late there, most of the night
[52:43] Speaker 2: awake after that. And we never heard any sounds or
[52:49] Speaker 2: anything walking. That's another thing is, you know, I don't
[52:53] Speaker 2: know anything else in the woods that might could do that.
[52:55] Speaker 2: You know, you got to have a thumb to grab something,
[52:59] Speaker 2: you know? So... I can't think of anything it wouldn't
[53:05] Speaker 2: ought to have been because they were flooding the lake,
[53:07] Speaker 2: and I'm just about 100% sure that pushed wildlife in
[53:13] Speaker 2: places they normally wouldn't. The Oconee River was a big river,
[53:19] Speaker 2: and it had a lot of rocks in it, big
[53:22] Speaker 2: boulders and stuff, and very wide. Right before we got
[53:28] Speaker 2: into Lake Sinclair, well, they dammed it up, And they
[53:33] Speaker 2: flooded all those swamp bottoms and stuff that were always
[53:36] Speaker 2: around the river, you know. I'm not sure, but that's
[53:40] Speaker 2: what Michael and myself talked about. You know, maybe it's
[53:44] Speaker 2: moving out of his territory. But I don't know. I
[53:47] Speaker 2: don't know how he would know what to do with
[53:50] Speaker 2: the tent. I just don't.
[53:52] Speaker 1: They watch people use zippers on tents all the time.
[53:55] Speaker 1: I wouldn't put it past them. Just like they watch
[53:58] Speaker 1: people open up car doors. They've been known to open
[54:01] Speaker 1: up car doors, truck doors. So, yeah, that doesn't surprise
[54:05] Speaker 1: me in the least. If you've had a Bigfoot sighting
[54:08] Speaker 1: and would like to be a guest, please go to BigfootEyewitness.com
[54:12] Speaker 1: and let me know. I'll tell you what there, Kenny.
[54:15] Speaker 1: I've got one more question for you before we get
[54:17] Speaker 1: out of here. And that is, you told us about
[54:20] Speaker 1: finding those prints on that sandbar that one time. You
[54:23] Speaker 1: said that one of the prints was a handprint. How
[54:26] Speaker 1: would you describe the shape of the hand and the
[54:29] Speaker 1: positioning of the fingers?
[54:32] Speaker 2: Well, it was down in that gully, that ravine. It's
[54:36] Speaker 2: got the little spring running through it. And it looked
[54:40] Speaker 2: like Vicki leaned up against the bank itself. And his
[54:45] Speaker 2: palm was there, but his fingers went down in the dirt,
[54:48] Speaker 2: like grabbing itself. Because it's very narrow. Yeah. It's got
[54:56] Speaker 2: washes and stuff all in there. So I guess he
[54:58] Speaker 2: was catching himself. So his palm went down, but his
[55:01] Speaker 2: fingers went in the dirt. You can actually, you can
[55:04] Speaker 2: barely see the little radiuses at the top where his
[55:07] Speaker 2: fingers went down in the dirt, you know. I got
[55:09] Speaker 2: pictures of both of them, the footprint and that. And
[55:14] Speaker 2: when I was down there and I kicked myself, but
[55:18] Speaker 2: I didn't walk on down through there and see if
[55:19] Speaker 2: I could find more prints. I should have because they
[55:22] Speaker 2: went toward the bigger creek. that little spring fed into.
[55:26] Speaker 2: The banks kind of, they're still steep, but they're just
[55:30] Speaker 2: laying over a little bit. You know, it's worn over
[55:32] Speaker 2: the years. And I could have walked down there, I
[55:35] Speaker 2: might have found more prints, but I got this serious
[55:39] Speaker 2: feeling when I saw those. Once I got down to this,
[55:41] Speaker 2: I didn't know what it was until I got there
[55:43] Speaker 2: and I started looking. I could see the big toe
[55:45] Speaker 2: and then the other toes off to the side. I
[55:47] Speaker 2: think it was his left foot. Then I got a
[55:52] Speaker 2: half print of his right foot the ball at the
[55:55] Speaker 2: front and the toes. And I say, right at that
[56:03] Speaker 2: last footprint I saw, that's where the handprint. The only
[56:06] Speaker 2: reason I noticed it was because the dirt was disturbed
[56:09] Speaker 2: and some of the dirt had come down the bank
[56:12] Speaker 2: a little bit. And I just had to look up.
[56:14] Speaker 2: And I had to reach up and put my hand
[56:17] Speaker 2: in it. I don't know if it was because I'm
[56:19] Speaker 2: shorter or he was taller. I don't know. I didn't.
[56:22] Speaker 2: disturb it, but I just kind of tried to reach
[56:24] Speaker 2: to it where it was standing, and I couldn't reach it.
[56:27] Speaker 1: Don't be hard on yourself for not looking for more prints.
[56:30] Speaker 1: I think you did a great job just finding the
[56:32] Speaker 1: prints that you found. Now, talking about the handprint, did
[56:35] Speaker 1: the thumb seem to be in the same place you'd
[56:38] Speaker 1: expect it to be on a human hand or a
[56:40] Speaker 1: different place?
[56:42] Speaker 2: It looked like it was a little further from the
[56:45] Speaker 2: pointing finger, you know? It was like Down lower than ours, maybe.
[56:51] Speaker 2: I mean, it's hard to tell on that dirt. I don't,
[56:58] Speaker 2: you know, I don't remember seeing a thumbprint. I just
[57:03] Speaker 2: seen the, you know, the fingers. The thumbprint might have
[57:08] Speaker 2: been there, but I was just staring at the fingers
[57:12] Speaker 2: going down in, and I could tell it was actually
[57:14] Speaker 2: a hand, you know. The bank was pretty solid, but,
[57:17] Speaker 2: you know, when he caught himself, I think it was
[57:20] Speaker 2: a Bigfoot. I don't doubt it. But when it caught itself,
[57:24] Speaker 2: his fingers just went in for maybe a second, you know,
[57:26] Speaker 2: and he got his balance and I don't doubt that
[57:27] Speaker 2: he went, you know.
[57:29] Speaker 1: Yeah, don't feel bad about not seeing the thumbprint or
[57:32] Speaker 1: knowing for sure if you saw that thumbprint. Like I said,
[57:35] Speaker 1: I'm just glad that you found those prints in the
[57:37] Speaker 1: first place. But having said that, Kenny, it's time for
[57:41] Speaker 1: us to call it. Before we do, I just want
[57:43] Speaker 1: to thank you so much for coming on and share
[57:44] Speaker 1: the details of all these experiences with us. I really
[57:47] Speaker 1: appreciate it.
[57:49] Speaker 2: Yes, sir. You're welcome. I've enjoyed it. I won't get
[57:52] Speaker 2: to talk about it much. Not many people want to listen.
[57:56] Speaker 1: Well, they don't know. I'm just glad to give you
[57:59] Speaker 1: a platform. And like I said, we really appreciate you
[58:01] Speaker 1: coming on. But please remember, if I can ever help
[58:04] Speaker 1: you out in the future, just let me know and
[58:06] Speaker 1: I'll be there for you. But having said all that,
[58:10] Speaker 1: thanks again so much for your time and Have a
[58:12] Speaker 1: great night. Thanks for listening.
[58:17] Speaker 2: Have a great night.
[58:43] Speaker 1: Thank you for watching.
