In this episode of Chilling Tales for Dark Nights, listeners are transported to the fog-covered grounds of San Francisco's historic Sutro Heights Park, where a gruesome homicide investigation uncovers something far more disturbing than an ordinary murder. When Detective Gwen Bugbee and eccentric mortician Dr. Daniel Dace begin examining a mutilated body discovered at the center of a mysterious circle of dead earth, they find themselves pulled into an escalating mystery that spans centuries—and perhaps even millennia. As archaeologists, investigators, and curious onlookers peel back layer after layer of history beneath the park, they uncover preserved remains, ancient sacrifices, impossible artifacts, and mounting evidence that something buried beneath the earth has been influencing the living for far longer than anyone imagined. What begins as a criminal investigation evolves into a chilling exploration of mortality, obsession, human curiosity, and the terrifying consequences of uncovering secrets that may have been buried for a reason.
