In this episode, Diane sits down with Vida Delrahim, co-founder of WeNatal and former Nike Senior Marketing Director, to talk about rethinking fertility, hormone health, and family wellness. After experiencing miscarriage and navigating parenthood later in life, Vida shifted her focus from brand marketing to reproductive health, with a mission to move the conversation from “me” to “we.” We discuss why fertility is not just about getting pregnant, but a foundation for long-term hormone balance, energy, and emotional wellbeing - even beyond the childbearing years. Vida shares how nutrient depletion, stress, and lack of recovery can contribute to burnout for moms, and offers simple, sustainable ways to support your health without adding more to your plate. We also talk about why fertility and hormone health should be a shared responsibility between partners, and how small, intentional habits can shape the long-term health of your entire family. [0:00] \[SPEAKER_00\]: For those of you that are new around here, I released bonus episodes that serve a niche part of my audience, so if this content is something that doesn't fit what you're looking for, check out the other episodes that drop this week, or join me back here next week for episodes that you don't want to miss.
[0:13] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We're going to talk about the human population being at risk because there's researchers like Dr. Shana Swan who wrote articles that they call it sperm again, but by 2045, they say we can have no sperm.
[0:25] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And that's right around the corner.
[0:27] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And so why everyone should care no matter what stage they're in is these healthy habits that we all kind of need to care about and inform our friends and families that
[0:36] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We're more talking about all these people trying to have kids and can't and are struggling.
[0:41] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And so there's a lot of empowerment that needs to happen there because it is scary.
[0:45] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We are living in a global fertility crisis.
[0:47] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Spermis on the decline, women today are less fertile in their 20s and their grandma's were at 35.
[0:53] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I can just rattle off a million and not to stagger but to inform and to educate that why we're so passionate about this is because there is a reason to care no matter what stage you're in and inform.
[1:05] \[SPEAKER_00\]: This is Diane Bowden, and you're listening to the minimalist mom's podcast.
[1:09] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Today's guest challenges a really common assumption that fertility is just a women's issue.
[1:15] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Instead, she invites us to think about it as something much bigger, something that impacts not just pregnancy, but our overall health, our energy, and even the long-term well-being of our families.
[1:26] \[SPEAKER_00\]: In today's episode, I'm joined by Vida Delirheim, co-founder of WeNatal, and former senior marketing director at Nike, to talk about how her own experience with loss and navigating parenthood later in light reshaped the way she thinks about reproductive health.
[1:41] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We also talk about why fertility is really a shared responsibility, how hormone health plays a role in things like burnout and energy, and what it looks like to support your body and simple, sustainable ways without adding more to your to-do list.
[1:53] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I also really appreciated her perspective on shifting the conversation from fear to empowerment, this idea of from me to we, especially within relationships and families.
[2:03] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So whether you're in a season of trying to conceive, raising kids, or simply wanting to feel better in your body, I think this episode is for you.
[2:10] \[SPEAKER_00\]: If you enjoy the content of today's episode, make sure you hit five stars, share it with a friend.
[2:15] \[SPEAKER_00\]: These are great ways that you can help continue to support the minimalist moms podcast.
[2:19] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And as always, I thank you so much for joining me here today.
[2:22] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So with that, let's get into this conversation with Vita.
[2:29] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Thank you for having me so excited to be here.
[2:31] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And I love everything you're about, every thing, I mean, since Sarah introduces, I've been just really,
[2:40] \[SPEAKER_01\]: minimalism with intention.
[2:42] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I think I love so much of who you are, what you're bound.
[2:45] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Thank you for everything you're putting out in the world.
[2:46] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's really beautiful.
[2:48] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Oh, thank you.
[2:48] \[SPEAKER_00\]: No, I think that this is very much aligned because I mean fertility in certain ways.
[2:55] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's something that seems
[2:59] \[SPEAKER_00\]: simple or it should be easy and yet it can be complex.
[3:03] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But I think if we are more intentional with it, then it is simpler.
[3:07] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I don't know.
[3:08] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I have some ideas, and I'm sure that you'll be able to provide a lot of insight.
[3:12] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But Vida, before we get into it, why don't you go ahead and introduce yourself and what it is that you do?
[3:18] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Thank you for having me, Dan.
[3:20] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So my name is Vita Delrahem.
[3:21] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I am the co-founder of WeNatal, which is prenatal supplements for women and men.
[3:27] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And if you want to get into it, we can get into why we even created a supplement in the first place.
[3:32] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, no, I'd love to hear that.
[3:34] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Why for men?
[3:35] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So my best friend Roni and I met at Nike.
[3:38] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We were in our young corporate careers together.
[3:40] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Young single ladies, basically climbing the corporate ladder, single lives dating in Los Angeles, which can be saved for another podcast episode just on Men and LA.
[3:50] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And like always became best friends, and knew we wanted to work together never really knew what and similar to most founders.
[3:58] \[SPEAKER_01\]: you know, through loss and through something that happens in your life, you're kind of awakened to this big gap.
[4:04] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And that's what happened with us.
[4:05] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We were trying to have kids around the same time.
[4:09] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And there I was at Nike, planning events with like global precision, planning through every detail that it athlete has to do to show up on race day and be prepared.
[4:19] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But yet I treated my own pregnancy like a casual jog.
[4:23] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I was like, you know, we're young, we're healthy, married a few
[4:27] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And when I walked in for a routine ultrasound at a 14-week check-up, I saw the room go silent.
[4:34] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I saw my OBGYN's face drop, and I heard those devastating words that no, you know, soon to be parent wants to hear.
[4:41] \[SPEAKER_01\]: He just looked at me and said, I'm so sorry.
[4:42] \[SPEAKER_01\]: There's no heartbeat.
[4:45] \[SPEAKER_01\]: and my world crashed down.
[4:46] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I didn't know it was possible.
[4:49] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I thought I had passed the first trimester so everything should have been safe.
[4:53] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I was not given any tools.
[4:54] \[SPEAKER_01\]: He really just said it's common.
[4:56] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You know, you're like, you got pregnant, could have been anything.
[4:59] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Just try again when you're ready.
[5:00] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And I should be back through this room of glowing bellies.
[5:04] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And I cried so hard by jaw ached and I remember scrutinizing my stress at work.
[5:09] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Was it that workout class?
[5:11] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Was it my age?
[5:12] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Was it X Y and Z was it the coffee that I love to drink?
[5:15] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Maybe a little too much of and I could have picked one of those things and said, yes, that was it.
[5:21] \[SPEAKER_01\]: but there was no answers.
[5:22] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But luckily for me, my best friend Ronit had actually left Nike and she was working for Dr. Mark Hyman.
[5:28] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And the root cause medicine and functional medicine.
[5:31] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And she, you know, she started to say, like, hey, have you done your labs?
[5:34] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Have you checked your thyroid?
[5:35] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Have you done these things?
[5:36] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And all of my labs were coming out quote, quote, normal.
[5:40] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But she taught me that doesn't necessarily mean optimal and definitely not for trying to have a kid.
[5:44] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So she pushed me and I went and I found out that I actually did have a thyroid disorder of Hashimoto's and with diet and nutrition supplementation, I actually got it under wraps.
[5:55] \[SPEAKER_01\]: She taught me about, you know, removing toxins from my home and you know what I thought I was living like a cool and cool healthy life, but I actually probably wasn't.
[6:04] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And through these discoveries, I was went on to have a healthy baby girl who is now eight years old.
[6:09] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And I thought, you know, at that point, the nightmare was over.
[6:11] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I learned about prenatal care.
[6:13] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I learned about what to do and not to do until you fast forward to early 2020.
[6:17] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We're trying for our second kids.
[6:20] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And I went in for another routine checkup.
[6:22] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Only to get that same deafening silence.
[6:25] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And the only thing that deferred this time is a week later, Ronit called me and the same exact thing happened to her.
[6:32] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And there she was working alongside the best doctors in the world, learning about all the things, and we knew there had to be more to this story.
[6:41] \[SPEAKER_01\]: More of our friends were having this care, just more, more of this world like we're all trying to have kids into your point.
[6:46] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It should be easy.
[6:47] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It should be like, you're young, you're married.
[6:49] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You should just, it should just happen.
[6:50] \[SPEAKER_01\]: and it didn't.
[6:51] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And so what we quickly found out is we went, and did what most athletes do, you researched the heck out of it.
[6:58] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And Roni uncovered all this research about men.
[7:02] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Men being 50% of pregnancy losses, men with high dose anti-oxins, four to five times of proving the likelihood of their partners having a healthy child.
[7:11] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And we were stopped dead in our tracks, like, wait, what?
[7:14] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like, I had multiple miscarriages.
[7:17] \[SPEAKER_01\]: My husband was in the room.
[7:19] \[SPEAKER_01\]: both times.
[7:20] \[SPEAKER_01\]: No one even asked him a single question.
[7:23] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Meanwhile, I was scrutinizing the shampoo.
[7:25] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I put on my head.
[7:26] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Is that too toxic?
[7:27] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Is my lip gloss, you know, not good enough?
[7:30] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And we quickly learn one fertility is a team sport.
[7:36] \[SPEAKER_01\]: and why society is putting the burden on women has to change.
[7:39] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And this is hundreds of years of societal pressures.
[7:42] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And literally we just wanted to create optimism around a very dark world of like fertility, this black box of misinformation that we're all dealing with on a daily basis.
[7:51] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And we want to have one source of the truth and provide the cleanest
[7:55] \[SPEAKER_01\]: supplements for both women and men with dosages that make a difference in the forms that the body can absorb and what we realize also is that while we didn't think the world need another women's prenatal we realize that actually they did there's so much misinformation additives fillers and junks not clinical dosages and so we reinvented what we saw as a huge opportunity to help make healthy little humans by creating prenatals for her and him
[8:21] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And we created a beautiful gratitude journal simply because we know that we can give you the best guidance and the best nutrition, but if you're in a negative spiral, which I was Your physiology is actually changed, you know, journaling and gratitude used to be a lot more
[8:37] \[SPEAKER_01\]: um, unaccepted and probably it thought is more, you know, whatever you want to call it, group granola in my days.
[8:44] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And now there's more research coming out about like you need to do the best for your body and mine because they're connected and if when I was so negative, when I was so stressed, my body can't prioritize conception.
[8:55] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And so,
[8:56] \[SPEAKER_01\]: that's why we need to exist to create science back supplements, tools, guidance, all the research that we wish we had and you know, very easy formats to understand.
[9:06] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We create guides for both partners of like, quick, easy, free things to do when you're trying to conceive.
[9:11] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But most of all we want to provide optimism in a world that we found very dark and uninformative.
[9:18] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Absolutely.
[9:18] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I just have a quick side note to what you were saying in regards to gratitude and
[9:24] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I guess mindfulness within fertility, I saw this thing on Instagram the other day and it was a woman saying, look at the next picture, focus on the three blue items and then you saw the picture really quickly and then she came back and she's like, what was the yellow item in the room.
[9:39] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And I was like, oh crap.
[9:39] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I wasn't focused on the yellow item and she said it's the same of their mind when we're focused on one thing we don't see the bigger picture like we have to like our mind focuses where we want it to but we can easily like fix it on whatever it is.
[9:53] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I guess if you're just staying in negative patterns like you are probably going to stay negative.
[9:56] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So I'm a big believer and I'll just decide tangent.
[9:59] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But outside of the, how men contribute, obviously, like you said, this is a team effort here.
[10:06] \[SPEAKER_00\]: What do you think is missing in the fertility and prenatal conversation in general?
[10:12] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Great question.
[10:13] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I think the education about there's a lot of myths out there.
[10:16] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We're very, very keen on busing some of these myths, but I think the biggest one that I want to empower women, we're just taught that we have the eggs that we have.
[10:24] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And there's nothing we can do.
[10:26] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And part of that is true.
[10:27] \[SPEAKER_01\]: The number of eggs we have at birth are the most number of eggs we'll ever have.
[10:31] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And every month we do lose them.
[10:32] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So consider your born with several million at age 37, you're out like, let's call it 20 or 30 thousand made up numbers.
[10:40] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Of course, it comes down to numbers, but it also comes down to quality, and that's where the story wasn't told to us.
[10:47] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We were just told, you're old, you know, just keep trying.
[10:50] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You're lucky you even got pregnant.
[10:52] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And first of all, talking about words being such toxic.
[10:55] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It wasn't helpful.
[10:56] \[SPEAKER_01\]: They called me geriatric for both my parents, pregnancies.
[10:59] \[SPEAKER_01\]: They did extra blood work.
[11:00] \[SPEAKER_01\]: They just made me feel damaged.
[11:03] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And women need to know that actually, if I'm 40, my eggs are not 40.
[11:08] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Actually, the 100 days that the egg is maturing is this beautiful time where you can improve the quality.
[11:14] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So nutrients like Coke, U10 and AC, alpha lipoca acid, PQQ, Alcarnitine is in our egg quality plus.
[11:21] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Those are the five target ingredients, mostly research for fertility.
[11:25] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And in those 100 days where your egg is maturing, you can improve the quality.
[11:29] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And ultimately,
[11:30] \[SPEAKER_01\]: it's you just need one good egg to have that beautiful child.
[11:33] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And so one women, there is so much you can do.
[11:37] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Also men are taught to believe they have no biological clock, but actually the research is showing more and more because we see these celebrities men having kids in their 80s, right?
[11:47] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Robert New York, it's Margaret
[11:49] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Totally, and what we're actually seeing is that men do have a biological hook while they are making sperm every second of the day That sperm also is dramatically Can be affected by oxidative stress by age and kids men having kids later in life can potentially have kids with more Abramacomal abnormalities, and so I just want to like equal the playing field.
[12:12] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We all age.
[12:13] \[SPEAKER_01\]: There are things we can do to improve our egg and sperm and
[12:18] \[SPEAKER_01\]: you know, a healthy lifestyle and all these micro changes that you can make over time make a big difference because it could be really stressful to be like, yes, the air on breathing in Los Angeles is toxic and yes, there is cell phones everywhere and there's so, you know, there's blue light and there's all the plastics everywhere.
[12:35] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But I try to tell people, control what you can control.
[12:37] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And even those small changes over time are a big difference.
[12:40] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So control what you can control in your home.
[12:42] \[SPEAKER_01\]: When you purchase your food, try to do the best you can, try to eat whole foods.
[12:46] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And so these are just subtle tips.
[12:48] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But the reality is there's misinformation on like, what are the things we can do?
[12:52] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And men and women have they can improve their biggest egg and sperm quality, which I was never taught.
[12:58] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You say that every mom should care about fertility, even after pregnancy.
[13:02] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm wondering why it is that you both think so.
[13:05] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And why fertility is the foundation of lifelong hormonal balance energy and emotional wellbeing.
[13:11] \[SPEAKER_00\]: All it looks like.
[13:12] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, so for me.
[13:13] \[SPEAKER_01\]: men and women people like kind of like the checkboxes like okay I'm getting ready for my wedding day so I'm gonna get facials on I'm gonna get fit and like similar to having to try for a baby some people most people are skipping the prep like me but the reality is fertility is a marker of your overall health.
[13:31] \[SPEAKER_01\]: When these are all things we should be doing, you know, all the buzzwords around longevity and biohacking.
[13:36] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So I can live to a hundred and feel great.
[13:39] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's very much one in the same of the advice for giving you to be fertile and healthy and to have healthy kids.
[13:44] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So when you talk about eating well, removing the toxins from your home, movement, we're all sitting too much, we're all indoors too much, so getting some like, it's like, put our grandparents we're doing.
[13:54] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But this day in age with technology and all the things were kind of skipping what our human biology was made to do.
[14:02] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And so it's so important because these things are not just to check the box for when you're having kids.
[14:08] \[SPEAKER_01\]: These are indicators of lifelong health.
[14:10] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So if you want to talk to any biohacker, or
[14:13] \[SPEAKER_01\]: longevity expert, a lot of the advice they're going to give you is going to mirror this one.
[14:17] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And why would we believe also some people, myself included, once you have kids, you start like giving them everything and then you, your health falls to the wayside.
[14:26] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I remember breaking a bone, getting my first root canal, I was so depleted.
[14:31] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And so I didn't know that you should still still take a high quality multi after birth.
[14:37] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You are arguably more depleted after birth and you might be feeding your first sleep deprived and so gold parents should be kind of making these rich habits well into their postpartum days.
[14:51] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, absolutely.
[14:53] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So you said that you broke up on and had a root canal a post having a baby?
[14:56] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, I guess I was, this was before we natively existed.
[15:00] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I was so depleted.
[15:02] \[SPEAKER_01\]: The root canal, she had basically the doctor told me the baby is like the perfect parasite.
[15:06] \[SPEAKER_01\]: They were going to literally back whatever they need from you.
[15:09] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And my first pregnancy, I barely could stomach pills.
[15:13] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I had so much nausea.
[15:14] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I wasn't taking her prenatal.
[15:16] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I didn't even know.
[15:17] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And I, I got my first root canal.
[15:19] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I had that crazy hair loss that everyone talks about around three or four months after breastfeeding her and then one day I was running to feed her when she was crying and my toe hit the couch broke a toe and so you just see these signs that your body is malnourished that's well that was I wanted to expand on that because I was like okay so what are the other signs because I think some women just chalk it up to or this is just normal mom life.
[15:41] \[SPEAKER_00\]: This is just the new re out.
[15:43] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Exactly and I did as well, but the reality is we don't have to feel badly all the time and I was attributing my brain fog and like scary brain fog things that I would like see yesterday and it couldn't remember their name or what are we did you know it was just so not who I was I wasn't optimal I was very short with my kids like you want to show up and be your best and I was realizing that my temperament and it ultimately does affect everything your physiology
[16:12] \[SPEAKER_01\]: malnourish.
[16:13] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's creating havoc in your body.
[16:14] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And
[16:16] \[SPEAKER_01\]: nothing good will come out of that.
[16:18] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So for me, it showed up as hair loss, the fatigue, the brain fog, but for everyone, it's a bit different.
[16:24] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And here's actually a great point where I want to advocate for every person listening to this podcast, you'll know your body the best.
[16:31] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And doctors will inherently be non-alarmists.
[16:35] \[SPEAKER_01\]: They have good intentions, but you're fine, it is normal to have memory loss postkids.
[16:39] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And it is normal for our brains to change.
[16:41] \[SPEAKER_01\]: All that is normal.
[16:42] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But when you know it's not right for you, when you know it's like above that threshold we need to be a little bit louder because like I said I was coming quote my labs or normal nothing was coming out but I know I wasn't myself and so what you've heard the stories of women.
[16:59] \[SPEAKER_01\]: in delivery, having to advocate for themselves and their lives could have been lost if they didn't.
[17:03] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And so I just want to stay no matter where you are in your journey, in your health journey.
[17:08] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You always kind of have to be on advocate because doctors, while they are well-intentioned, have a few minutes with you every day.
[17:13] \[SPEAKER_01\]: They're seeing thousands of patients.
[17:16] \[SPEAKER_01\]: They can't go deep as maybe they would like.
[17:19] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And so you kind of have to be your own researcher, advocate, and really fight when you feel like something is not right.
[17:27] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Um, absolutely.
[17:28] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I want to talk about chronic stress and how that affects our hormones and the research that you've seen can supplement help with our stress levels.
[17:38] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's a great question.
[17:39] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So stress is probably one of the things that causes the most havoc in our life.
[17:45] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It disturbs our sleep.
[17:47] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And sleep is like the basis for our body repairing itself.
[17:52] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It destroys everything because also I feel like stress causes us to eat abnormal.
[17:56] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You know, I know I'm a stress eater.
[17:58] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It affects how we show up.
[18:00] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And it's kind of like a downward spiral.
[18:01] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So yes, it stress affects every organ in your body.
[18:05] \[SPEAKER_01\]: there is so much research about how not to, I think when people tell me like avoid stress or you know, when you're trying, you should not have stress, I kind of look at them like they have to heads because we're not living in a world where stress is actually going to go away, we're more busy than we've ever been, however.
[18:24] \[SPEAKER_01\]: What the research shows is how you combat it is very, very important.
[18:28] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So, how you break up your day.
[18:30] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Can you do some squats at your chest?
[18:32] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Can you go for a walk between meetings?
[18:34] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Can you get sunlight so you're not indoors all day?
[18:37] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So there are some eating whole foods and nourishing your body can help combat it.
[18:41] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Because ultimately, I was experiencing when I had my first miscarriage.
[18:45] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Adrenal fatigue, my cortisol was off the chart.
[18:48] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And I was in a corporate career for 20 years, so my body was,
[18:51] \[SPEAKER_01\]: basically in fighter flight mode every day.
[18:54] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And just at the basic basic biology, when our body is exhibiting that level of stress daily, which I was, and by the way, stress is what it used to be as like being chased by a bear.
[19:04] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And now it could be an email, a text message, your boss, your husband, and it basically shoots or, you know, hormones through the roof, and it sends the bloods to your limbs to run.
[19:15] \[SPEAKER_01\]: to basically survive and what we're typically doing, we're sitting, we're eating, we're not using the glucose.
[19:21] \[SPEAKER_01\]: The blood is like moving to the limbs and over a repeat, it's dramatically harming us.
[19:30] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And when you're in that trying to conceive phase, it's like the blood needs to be the organs, needs to be circulating, and instead it's like literally rushing through your body
[19:42] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And so it very lame in terms.
[19:43] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's like you have to think about like our physiology today, our biology was made hundreds of years ago to like, but our, like, what's happening in the world is dramatically changing and our bodies are like not even ready for the amount that we're sitting and not moving and eating ultra-power 70% of a diet or ultra-positive foods.
[20:02] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And so the long story short is it creates havoc.
[20:05] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I think the best advice we can give listeners is how do you combat it?
[20:09] \[SPEAKER_01\]: What are the things?
[20:10] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And by the way, it isn't a one-size-fits-all.
[20:12] \[SPEAKER_01\]: People told me to meditate, I couldn't do it.
[20:15] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I couldn't sit still.
[20:16] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It stressed me out that I couldn't get to a Zen mode.
[20:19] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So I found some other things that work for me working out made me feel better.
[20:22] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And also you have to be very in tune to like sometimes people were waking up at 4M to work out.
[20:26] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That's not optimal either because sleep is such a core pillar of your health.
[20:31] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And nowadays, I feel like stress and sleep, people are sleeping later, doom scrolling, more blue light and sleep is like that one thing that I would say if you had one ability to prioritize one thing.
[20:41] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Do your sleep.
[20:43] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's underrated or not talked about, but I ended up sitting that can completely change my health.
[20:50] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And so I digress, but really, I think it's so, so important for everyone to kind of just find what works for them in an ever stressful world.
[21:07] \[SPEAKER_00\]: going back to what I said at the beginning is simple, but it's complex because of our current circumstances in today's world.
[21:14] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I mean, would you be this a bold statement, but would you say that there is a infertility crisis going on right now?
[21:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Oh, absolutely.
[21:24] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'm not trying to like scare everyone, but we at a very high level I can tell you just some stats that would probably blow your mind.
[21:32] \[SPEAKER_01\]: When we intercepted we natal, which was early 2020, the World Health Organization said one in eight couples is dealing with infertility.
[21:39] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Few short later as we launch in 2022 it became one in six.
[21:44] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That's very quick to go now with one in six and actually, the CDC is now saying in the U.S. it's one in a five.
[21:51] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So basically, we all have a friend who's struggling right now.
[21:54] \[SPEAKER_01\]: At the reality is that if we want our human population to continue to grow and thrive, we need 2.1 births per woman on average for the replacement rate.
[22:04] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But what we're seeing in half of the global countries, we're dropping below 2.1.
[22:09] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I mean, the U.S. is staggering around 1.7.
[22:13] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Italy's at one point to South Korea's is 0.8.
[22:16] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like if these trends continue, you could almost see how we're not.
[22:20] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We're going to stop talking about like, you know, pollution and like the global climate crisis.
[22:25] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We're going to talk about the human population being at risk as there's researchers, like Dr. Shana Swan, who
[22:31] \[SPEAKER_01\]: wrote articles that they call it sperm again, but by 2045, they say we could have no sperm.
[22:37] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And that's right around the corner.
[22:39] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And so why everyone should care no matter what stage they're in is these healthy habits that we all kind of need to care about and inform our friends and families that
[22:48] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We're more talking about all these people trying to have kids and can't and are struggling.
[22:52] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And so there's a lot of empowerment that needs to happen there because it is scary.
[22:57] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We are living in a global fertility crisis.
[22:59] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Spermis on the decline.
[23:00] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Women today are less fertile in their 20s and their grandma's were at 35.
[23:04] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I mean, I can just rattle off a million and not to stagger but to inform and to educate that why we're so passionate about this is because there is a reason to care no matter what
[23:18] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
[23:20] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You mentioned sleep.
[23:21] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That's, again, I don't want to say it's low hanging fruit because a lot of us do struggle, especially as moms if we already have children.
[23:26] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I mean, that's my time to be alone and to scroll.
[23:30] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's just, it's, in a sense, it's kind of like a sacred time.
[23:34] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm trying to switch it to the morning.
[23:35] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That's my sacred time.
[23:36] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But all that to say, sleep is so important and it seems like a pretty easy fix.
[23:41] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But are there other things that we can opt into or displace in our current?
[23:47] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I mean, habits and patterns that would be kind of simple, sustainable strategies.
[23:52] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Absolutely.
[23:53] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Let me also stay on sleep, like none of us are perfect.
[23:55] \[SPEAKER_01\]: None of us are putting our phones two hours before bed.
[23:58] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I, Dan, I love when I get my two girls down that hour to myself before I go to bed.
[24:03] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Here's what I'm saying.
[24:04] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's okay.
[24:05] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Invest in like perhaps an oring or an fitness device that can help you track.
[24:11] \[SPEAKER_01\]: What I've learned is that like I have these like peak times for myself when I can get deeper sleep for me it's around 930 going to bed.
[24:17] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I know it's early but for me I prefer to do daytime activities, daytime dates with my husband like I'm just not a night owl.
[24:24] \[SPEAKER_01\]: What I also learned is that, like, I bought red light glasses, so I am scrolling, but at least I'm blocking a little bit of the blue light at night.
[24:32] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I also invested in a weighted eye pillow, a weighted blanket, like you kind of have to find similar to stress what works for you and sleep.
[24:40] \[SPEAKER_01\]: They say a cold room is better than a warmer room, and so
[24:44] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Those small changes would meet will mean deeper sleep and more quality sleep.
[24:48] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's not saying that everyone needs to go to bed at eight and put their phones away two hours or like, I also want to be real, like we're living in a modern environment and we also want to enjoy a life.
[24:57] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And here's where we'll also put the disclaimer that at any point, if my advice feels like too much,
[25:02] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We live by like the 80-20 rule.
[25:04] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You do your best, 80% but the joy of life, if it is eating out, if it is, you know, a bag of chips or a glass of wine, like let yourself have that too because when we're too strict, your body, again, it's a stressor.
[25:17] \[SPEAKER_01\]: weather it like a 4 a.m workout or weather we feel like if we eat a seed oil we're going to pass out you know like you kind of have to let yourself have the joys and pick what those pick your battles it's like with kids right and so outside so my point is find what works for sleep and then outside of that let's start with food which I feel like outside of sleep is like the most important thing we're doing every single day with what we put in our bodies.
[25:41] \[SPEAKER_01\]: try to reduce the ultra processed foods and there are so many cleaner better brands like I buy my kids like the healthier snacks and the health you know like if you're going to find one you could find one that are baked and not fried or cooked in avocado oil so like find cleaner versions.
[25:57] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And the most researched, you know, obviously organic where you can and specifically organic on fruits and veggies that don't have like thick skin.
[26:04] \[SPEAKER_01\]: The Mediterranean diet, which is good quality meats and good quality, you know, nuts and eat the rainbow is most research on fertility.
[26:12] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So eating well is number one.
[26:15] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Then it's simple.
[26:16] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's like clean water filters in your house, clean air, the air outside is cleaner than inside.
[26:21] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So can you open windows in the morning?
[26:23] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Can you buy a few house plans?
[26:25] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Can you in a good water filter movement?
[26:27] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We've talked about that.
[26:28] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It doesn't have to be like CrossFit at 4 a.m. but it's like incorporating more walking, finding a little bit of, you know, habits that can be worked in that don't feel stressful.
[26:39] \[SPEAKER_01\]: you know, sonas are great detox for women and men but for men when you're trying to conceive the heat is very sensitive the sperm is very sensitive to heat.
[26:49] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So we actually tell men who are trying to like either avoid it or again ice pack for down there but it is a very detoxifying it's a great, you know, health benefit.
[27:00] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And ultimately it's, you know,
[27:02] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's really just like what you put on your body and around your body.
[27:06] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So it's like you're kitchen in your bathroom.
[27:08] \[SPEAKER_01\]: When you run out of something, can you get a cleaner version?
[27:10] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Whether it's, you know, your body care items, your stuff using the shower, whether it's your pots and pans, swapping out plastics where you can, I think, is the best investment getting glass containers as low hanging fruit.
[27:22] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And then we have, we need to.com slash guide is a free guide.
[27:26] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You could literally go there and
[27:28] \[SPEAKER_01\]: couples can download the free guide and it's just a lot of tangible easy tips like the ones we're talking about today but if you don't know where to start or if you just want some help on how to like start making these changes we recommend a lot of clean brands that we found you know when we were starting clean makeup and clean stuff was kind of hard to find but now we're so pleasantly surprised that there's really great brands coming out with clean cleaning products for your home that are not toxic clean makeup clean champ who's in condition so just
[27:58] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Which no matter what to your point, if you're just in it for the long jabby, if you are trying to have kids, if you're Anywhere in your life, these are great tips and small micro changes that you should do over time for your overall wellness.
[28:10] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
[28:12] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I am wondering what the research says if you have any insight
[28:17] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm not planning on having any more children, and yet I do care about this area.
[28:22] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I want my regular period.
[28:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I mean, my period's like clockwork.
[28:25] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I track it, and I'm grateful for that.
[28:27] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And I try and do things to maintain that.
[28:29] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And then I know I'm going to, I don't think I'm quite in the pyramid of pause yet, but I'm getting there.
[28:34] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm getting closer to the age.
[28:35] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And then we hit Minipause.
[28:36] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So I guess my question is,
[28:38] \[SPEAKER_00\]: like once we have some of these signs like our bodies natural signs start to fade and go away how do we know that we're still, I guess, hormonally healthy?
[28:47] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I don't even know if there's an answer to that or if you have any insight.
[28:50] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, know what I will say just on the having kids later on life and actually menopause what we're now seeing is a lot of us who are having kids maybe calling
[29:01] \[SPEAKER_01\]: not, you know, advanced maternal age or whatever you want to call it.
[29:04] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We are hitting that Perry menopause.
[29:06] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We're like basically postpartum and Perry menopause are blurring.
[29:09] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like you're starting by the way kudos to you because it is a sign of your health and the fact that your period is regular and that you're tracking is just these are all biomarkers of information.
[29:18] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And what I will say is because those lines are blurred and we're having kids it's more important than ever to be working with a practitioner and kind of tracking how you feel I know Roni had her second daughter at 42 naturally and like a year later like those lines of Perry menopause started blurring and she often talks about how it is often overlooked and something that she had to kind of advocate for herself and once she got on the right.
[29:45] \[SPEAKER_01\]: you know, program with her OBGYN.
[29:48] \[SPEAKER_01\]: She was able to thrive.
[29:50] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And so ultimately to me, it's like knowing your baseline, knowing where you thrive and when you're not there, digging deeper.
[29:57] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And if you don't have a practitioner that maybe is
[30:00] \[SPEAKER_01\]: your vibe or like doesn't see eye to eye, find a new one.
[30:04] \[SPEAKER_01\]: If I tell often times when people are looking for doctors, it's like dating, you shouldn't just take the one that's down the street.
[30:10] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Meet a few of them and see which one you really connect with that you feel has your back and you feel comfortable like asking the questions, maybe asking for more blood work, saying a little more is needed here and not everyone's open to that.
[30:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah.
[30:24] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, absolutely.
[30:25] \[SPEAKER_00\]: No, I do think like I said, this is just such an important conversation.
[30:28] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Even me being as I said outside of trying to intentionally get pregnant, I find all the very fascinating and it's important to me to maintain the healthy system in general so that I can honestly just be capable and able for my children.
[30:43] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like as they can to go as I have grandkids, I want to support everything I'm doing now for that quality of life as I age.
[30:50] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I love that.
[30:51] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And fun to fact, 50% of pregnancies are on plan.
[30:54] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So you kind of never know.
[30:55] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's good to play care of yourself as all in this bag.
[30:58] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I don't care.
[30:59] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Some women just start taking green needles once they get pregnant, which is still great.
[31:03] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But there is a lot of their babies DNA that's, you know, kind of decide that conception.
[31:07] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And so because our food system is not as ideal as it once was and our foods are depleted of like the vitamins and minerals.
[31:15] \[SPEAKER_01\]: The analogy I love to use is, um,
[31:17] \[SPEAKER_01\]: eating a grand eating one orange when our grandparents were little is equivalent of eating eight oranges today.
[31:24] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So even if you're full-time job is to eat healthy and for fertility it's really hard to get it from food alone and that's why supplementation is so important.
[31:34] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's like that the added insurance policy.
[31:36] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, no, absolutely.
[31:38] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm really, the more research I do and investigate kind of what works for my body, the more I'm just grateful that we have access to supplements these days for sure.
[31:48] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And then what was the last thing I was going to say?
[31:50] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I think that was it.
[31:51] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Oh, I guess with we natal, again, I'm not a sponsor by we natal.
[31:54] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I just really thought you were interested in an interesting person to talk to.
[31:57] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But just with your brand specifically, like I could take it,
[32:03] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Okay, Panna Group net.
[32:04] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So, we needle for her and him are an amazing multi.
[32:07] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We needle for her has a tiny bit of iron.
[32:10] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So, if you're demonstrating, it's great.
[32:11] \[SPEAKER_01\]: If not, for sure, you should always consult with your practitioner, but it is an amazing multi.
[32:16] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And if someone wants an iron free option, we recently came out with a protein powder that's 20 grams of grass-fed way protein, amecology, and your full multivitamin prenatal in one scoop.
[32:27] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And we have a her
[32:31] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Because wellness is becoming increasingly stressful and not everyone loves to swallow pills or might have nausea or the first trimester.
[32:37] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And so we made the prenatal in a powder form and then you get the added bonus of the protein and collagen which has been a huge hit and it's a three and one.
[32:49] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And that one is iron free because iron does have that little bit of that metallic taste.
[32:54] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So we did not want to torture people with that but great for smoothies it actually just mixes with water and it's wonderful and we'll have to send you some day and because it's Thank you.
[33:03] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, and I do I don't know.
[33:05] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I might keep this out.
[33:06] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I feel like I want to say this.
[33:07] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I think that people will see price point sometimes for supplements or anything that's in the health and wellness world, but then when you break that down like price for serving in general.
[33:17] \[SPEAKER_00\]: If there's collagen, protein, and the supplement, it's like, what is that going to cost me if I buy collagen, and I buy protein?
[33:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And all of these are good quality.
[33:25] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So I think you can look at it like that, and then also it realizes an investment in your health.
[33:29] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And you go and buy a bunch of crap at the store in the target $5 Ben that you don't need.
[33:34] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So yeah.
[33:35] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That's where I spend my money.
[33:37] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I can't even, I just want to hug you right now because for the amount of people who are like, oh, it's kind of extensive.
[33:44] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And listen, I get it.
[33:45] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Life is expensive.
[33:46] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And we needle for her in him, just the supplements, the capsules are about $60 a month if you subscribe.
[33:52] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But what they're not seeing is we have a lot of great competitors at 30 and 40, right?
[33:56] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But then they're at, then they're selling you extra colon extra folate, extra.
[34:01] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And so why is it in your prenails to begin with?
[34:04] \[SPEAKER_01\]: If you look at our 24 bio-available ingredients and the quantities of each one in it, the $60 is next nothing and I always joke, I'm like similar to you.
[34:12] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I mean, we go to AirWon and buy lunch for $60, because that expensive or my latte these days are $12 literally.
[34:19] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So, it's a decision, it's a true decision and to your point of lifelong health.
[34:25] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And thank you for saying that like so eloquently.
[34:28] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I sound like a founder and I'm like, it's worth it, but really do your research because here's the point about being an advocate.
[34:34] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You have to turn it behind and not believe the marketing of any brand.
[34:37] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You have to read the labels.
[34:39] \[SPEAKER_01\]: There should not be an other section in your supplements.
[34:41] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And now supplement these days have all kinds of colors and fillers in,
[34:47] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You need to learn to read labels so that you can be the best advocate for your own health and no matter where you're at.
[34:54] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And my mom takes prenatals she I mean, she's not trying for kids, she's a wonderful grandma, but my point is because of our food system, it's important for our parents generation as well.
[35:04] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And I want just empower everyone.
[35:06] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's like, don't take it for me.
[35:07] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We list all of the research.
[35:09] \[SPEAKER_01\]: If you want to geek out of which we love on why there's this much vitamin A, we have all the clinical studies and we just finished our own clinical study to show the efficacy of the prenatal for her and him.
[35:21] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And so it's about really doing your own work and feeling good about what you consume.
[35:26] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And if you
[35:29] \[SPEAKER_01\]: or our capsules to competitors of similar, you know, form and quality, it's a steal.
[35:35] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You should be paying over, you know, $100 a month for all these ingredients combined.
[35:40] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, I think that's just something that I always like to point out in regards to the way that we're spending our money, I just had an episode go live today about finances, but yeah, we are spending the money typically somewhere that it's really unnecessary, but it's like if I can get a higher quality of life, higher quality materials and products, I mean, I don't need to buy as many right that's what living intentionally is and again, I always say if it's not a good deal if you don't need it.
[36:05] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But I think the things that we think we need versus our ones are also just an interesting assessment to do in our own life.
[36:11] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So yeah, I just wanted to clarify like I'm not pushing.
[36:14] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We need all I'm not sponsored by you guys.
[36:17] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I think this is a really important topic and it's a great resource for people if they are interested.
[36:23] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Thank you.
[36:24] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And yeah, and for me, it's just educating and empowering people.
[36:27] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Do the research, see the brand, see what's out there, but ultimately a high quality bio-available supplement should be in everyone's path in Omenga.
[36:37] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Omega is for inflammation.
[36:39] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We have an incredible magnesium for sleep because of the things we talked about and sleep, but really because, you
[36:46] \[SPEAKER_01\]: four forms of clean magnesium have it been blended in that way and for rest and digestion and so we're very intentional to your point.
[36:53] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We're not VC-funded.
[36:55] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We're very intentional with our products really being either better or doesn't exist on the market or else we wouldn't come out with it.
[37:01] \[SPEAKER_01\]: and thank you for your kind of words because we see a lot of competitors come out with stuff every two seconds and you know there isn't much integrity but the marketing is enticing and as a marketer myself I it's hard not to fall for I really love some of the competitors and the great work they're doing but my job is to educate you guys turn back the label and do your own do your own homework.
[37:22] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, and I can definitely see that.
[37:24] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I've talked to some people before and I didn't end up airing their episodes because it's like I want my guests to walk away having felt empowered and to learn something.
[37:32] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And then if I think in that way, the product will sell itself.
[37:36] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's like if you are educated and you can come here and give a listeners a reason to care about this area, that is just a bonus on top of the information you've shared.
[37:45] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So I'm grateful for that.
[37:46] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Thank you.
[37:47] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And likewise, I feel the same.
[37:49] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I just want to say like it's not about the sale for us.
[37:51] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We literally born this out of the optimism of like changing the narrative, changing the gender paradigms, helping create healthy little humans.
[37:59] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And we have a lot of work to do because still there's a lot of education that needs to happen.
[38:03] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, yeah, I mean, just the insight alone in regards to how males, I mean, I guess I kind of know that that the men do affect gets a partnership obviously you're creating, but I just think taking some of the weight to say like, oh my gosh, it's all on our bodies to the baby to term everything is on us.
[38:21] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, I'm grateful for that insight as well.
[38:33] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Well, we, um, wenatal.com is where you can see all of our products and learn and do the research on the ingredients.
[38:40] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We just launched on Amazon so we're there as well.

[39:50] \[SPEAKER_00\]: No, great.
[39:50] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'll be sure to include a lot of that in the show notes for listeners.
[39:52] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But quickly as we wrap up here, I always ask my guests to final rapid fire questions at the end.
[39:56] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And the first one is, what has been a beneficial resource in your life that you want to share with the listeners?
[40:00] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And I know it's really broad.
[40:01] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So it's it's open to your interpretation.
[40:04] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'd say my village.
[40:07] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I never, I understood that like, you know, when your parent you need a village, but I never really understood it until I became one.
[40:14] \[SPEAKER_01\]: creating community and like neighbors, friends, aunts and uncles, like I can't even tell you when you're a full-time working mom and my husband works and having people on the six days, having people who could relieve your nanny when you can't get there for work, just like, and when I had my losses, like having that actually met more to have people that I could lean on and cry too.
[40:37] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So wherever you are, just like community and actually there's research
[40:44] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But friendship, my best friend who got me through this, and now I will say one thing, like those losses were the worst time in my life But if you ask me today, it's probably the best thing that ever happened to me because I never would have found we made all I never would have helped over 30,000 parents become families like If you can have that faith that everything's in your path for a reason and you might not see it today or tomorrow But it's there and now looking back.
[41:11] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I can tell you that like I truly hold that faith and everything that I do
[41:14] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, absolutely no thanks for sharing that.
[41:18] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I feel the same way in regards to my village as well It's so important.
[41:20] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I haven't episode coming up on that as well.
[41:22] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So stay tuned.
[41:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I love her.
[41:24] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, my last question is what is something you can't stop talking about?
[41:29] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's a good one.
[41:30] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You're like fertility and fertility Yeah, oh my god.
[41:34] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You've stumped me.
[41:35] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I mean, there's literally weanatal and the men I mean, that's like so obvious and we talked about it today.
[41:40] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So I want to give you something else
[41:42] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know what I've been talking about recently, I will share it sometimes I share it to help inspire guests.
[41:47] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Really?
[41:47] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I've been watching the Anthony Dippordian show, parts unknown.
[41:50] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's from like 2012 to 2014, he did this show, maybe even longer, and my husband and I are watching it on HBO Max, and it's one of my favorite things to do.
[41:59] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We watch a few episodes each week, and I just truly am learning so much about the country.
[42:02] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm so interested in the food from different countries in different areas that he goes and explores.
[42:07] \[SPEAKER_00\]: They're like 40 minutes episodes.
[42:09] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's so amazing and I highly recommend going back and rewatching it.
[42:12] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's a great rewatch.
[42:13] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Wow.
[42:14] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Okay.
[42:14] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Well, I don't have much time for TV these days because of two kids and, you know, the job and all that.
[42:21] \[SPEAKER_01\]: No, I love to like I love something like education like that.
[42:24] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's the thing that.
[42:26] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's more about my New Year's resolutions, but I am very passionate about Nikita Tattock-Melt is I've burned it at both ends for many years.
[42:33] \[SPEAKER_01\]: The corporate career I kind of talked about.
[42:35] \[SPEAKER_01\]: The kids has been, and like, everyone's needs came before my own.
[42:39] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And like this last, like, I'd say six months, I've made a concerted effort for my own wellness, and it has been a game changer.
[42:47] \[SPEAKER_01\]: My memories coming back, so what that looks like for me is like prioritizing my workouts, which bring me joy, gets hooked on a couple times a week,
[42:56] \[SPEAKER_01\]: every now and then massage every now like it could just be a blow dry you know like very minimal to your point but things that like make my day better and over time I will tell you like six months I used to be forgetful on everything and my memory used to be sharp as a hawk before kids now it's coming back I am thriving I am feeling better my energy is coming back and so
[43:18] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I literally can't like speak enough to like it sounds cheesy to fill your own cup before you know, taking care of others, but I'm like living proof like I was not my best self six months ago.
[43:29] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And now I'm like more present with my kids, I'm more patient, for sure.
[43:34] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And you know, those small little micro-access, it's an hour massage.
[43:38] \[SPEAKER_01\]: or the sauna and I come back and I feel like I've energy bouncing off walls.
[43:42] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So whatever that is for you or your audience like make the time and it only happens, you time block, you put it on your calendar like it's a meeting and that's the only way by the way that it happened for me is like I started putting my workouts in the calendar and I would protect that time or also always be things that competing priorities that we'll take over.
[44:02] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, I've said this on a few episodes recently, but I've just gotten really good at thinking about my future self and even with sleep, I'll start scrolling or even I'll pick up a book on my phone or my candle and I realize your future self tomorrow morning is going to be so tired.
[44:17] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Please just put it down and so I think from that perspective, I'm much more likely to make the right quote and quote choice.
[44:24] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, but that's hard to tap into it, but I'm getting better at it.
[44:28] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And, you know, they say it takes a while to make it a habit, and then you move on to the next school, but like those, and it's also, if it brings you joy when I stay up late, do it, and just stuff with a company like this.
[44:38] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, 80, 20, like you said, right?
[44:41] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I think the thing people, like the freedom to know it's okay not to be perfect, and you're doing our best, and like this education is so powerful because you just start making the changes as you can, as you run out of something, as you feel it.
[44:55] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But it's not all or nothing, and that's not what we're saying.
[44:58] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We also want you to like live a happy, wonderful life.
[45:02] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I have for sure.
