[0:00] Speaker 1: Look Mayer, Oh, I see you, my own Bowen. Look
[0:04] Speaker 1: over there is that culture.
[0:06] Speaker 2: Yes, goodness, lost.
[0:08] Speaker 1: Culture ding dong, lost culturistas calling.
[0:14] Speaker 2: Why the pregnant pause? Oh wait, hold on for podcast
[0:17] Speaker 2: or visual medium, Matt and I synergistic again.
[0:20] Speaker 1: It kind of keeps happening. So I come in today
[0:23] Speaker 1: and I think there's no way that Bowen is gonna
[0:25] Speaker 1: wear a pop culture icon on his shirt today, like
[0:27] Speaker 1: I am, because I'm kind of giving my icon Mariyah.
[0:30] Speaker 1: And you walk in clad in Bruce.
[0:32] Speaker 2: Lee, you know, lad in it and I have. I
[0:35] Speaker 2: have my thing with Bruce Lee, which is just someone
[0:38] Speaker 2: who looms large. But I don't like I'm finally gonna
[0:43] Speaker 2: come out as like a Bruce Lee stan. I like
[0:45] Speaker 2: it's only in my bedroom, literally, like you know that,
[0:47] Speaker 2: Like I have that Italian poster of this is.
[0:49] Speaker 1: A queer narrative.
[0:50] Speaker 2: This is a queer narrative.
[0:51] Speaker 1: It just existed in your bedroom as a child, and
[0:53] Speaker 1: now it's roaring to life in public.
[0:55] Speaker 2: Well, all these politicians out here saying keep that in
[0:58] Speaker 2: the bedroom to.
[0:59] Speaker 1: Me, Yeah, and you finally defied them here, I am
[1:03] Speaker 1: look at this. I love this cut and color on
[1:06] Speaker 1: you similar to the cut and color on our guests.
[1:09] Speaker 1: We've got a lot of primary action happening in here.
[1:11] Speaker 1: This is the day I meet my pen pal. Ah,
[1:15] Speaker 1: this is like when you meet like your pen and
[1:18] Speaker 1: pal from when you were young, but just adult version.
[1:20] Speaker 1: I was gonna say, like when you have like because
[1:22] Speaker 1: you know when you were little, did they ever give
[1:23] Speaker 1: you a pen pal from like a far away school?
[1:26] Speaker 1: Do you have your program ever do this?
[1:28] Speaker 2: Yeah? I want to say once or twice. But so
[1:31] Speaker 2: when I moved from Canada, all the kids wrote little postcards.
[1:34] Speaker 2: Oh that's so sweet. And then I think the first
[1:37] Speaker 2: week we moved to Colorado, I was like, Dad, where
[1:39] Speaker 2: are the postcards? He was like, I can't find them?
[1:42] Speaker 1: And I thought got it?
[1:44] Speaker 2: Never ready, of course, still still thinking about it all
[1:47] Speaker 2: these years later.
[1:47] Speaker 1: You could cry now if you feel like there's still
[1:49] Speaker 1: some left in the tank. Our guest would support it.
[1:53] Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I haven't hydrated enough today. Well I think, no, no, no,
[1:57] Speaker 2: are you wanted some.
[1:58] Speaker 1: Of our guest Arctic vibe, which is in a cop
[2:00] Speaker 1: and looks sick like poison?
[2:03] Speaker 2: This is what this is why, this is why Celsius
[2:05] Speaker 2: doesn't come in a clear container. Let's get into it.
[2:08] Speaker 1: Let's really get into it what we came here to
[2:10] Speaker 1: talk about today, which is what Celsius looks like in
[2:12] Speaker 1: a clear container. Certainly not the excellent third album. It's
[2:16] Speaker 1: it's a step forward.
[2:17] Speaker 2: It's the third album down.
[2:19] Speaker 1: Which was tough to do because we were already pretty forward.
[2:22] Speaker 1: I went to that concert. Bodies were hitting the ground,
[2:25] Speaker 1: Bodies were hitting the ground. People were getting so overwhelmed.
[2:28] Speaker 1: Bodies were hitting the ground.
[2:29] Speaker 2: Well, we were saying, these girls were like forming a circle,
[2:32] Speaker 2: clutching each other.
[2:33] Speaker 1: I've never seen anything like it. Girls grabbed hands and
[2:37] Speaker 1: created like a ringutiful and it didn't matter who else
[2:40] Speaker 1: was there. It was their floor.
[2:42] Speaker 2: And I was like, yes, nothing in the circle, No,
[2:47] Speaker 2: just their energy. Well that that's that's a lot of floor.
[2:50] Speaker 2: That's a lot of area.
[2:51] Speaker 1: If you wanted to get in it, you could have
[2:52] Speaker 1: crawled under them. It just didn't feel right. It was
[2:54] Speaker 1: their floor.
[2:55] Speaker 2: You, I think you have something to say about that
[2:56] Speaker 2: you should address, like just just just taking up the air. Yeah,
[3:00] Speaker 2: let's let's put our guest. And she's incredible in every way.
[3:03] Speaker 2: Everyone welcome.
[3:07] Speaker 3: Sip of Arctic of Arctic piss. This is the treat
[3:12] Speaker 3: of my life to be here. And also I don't
[3:15] Speaker 3: want to speak. I just want to like sit this.
[3:17] Speaker 3: It feels you know, there's like fever dream moments.
[3:19] Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, oh I have to speak.
[3:21] Speaker 1: You have to how about this? You name the episode? Yeah,
[3:24] Speaker 1: no matter, I must have to find about.
[3:27] Speaker 3: Okay, Well, whatever you say, it's your house.
[3:29] Speaker 1: Will say it. And only if you confirm it.
[3:32] Speaker 2: Can it be great?
[3:34] Speaker 1: Because I feel like you're going to be the vibe
[3:35] Speaker 1: of saying the rules of culture with us today.
[3:38] Speaker 2: I want you to.
[3:38] Speaker 3: I mean, it's I do it. I do it when
[3:41] Speaker 3: I'm on the train in my headphones. Like you'll say
[3:43] Speaker 3: something and I will predict, and sometimes I'm surprised when
[3:46] Speaker 3: you don't make something confirmed.
[3:48] Speaker 1: Breeder, I guess finalist, finalist, Well, of course finalists.
[3:53] Speaker 3: Cheers, cheer. Let me expose just how piss like this is.
[3:57] Speaker 2: Absolutely wait, I want to I want to bring something
[3:59] Speaker 2: up right off the bat. I was at Jake Shane's house.
[4:02] Speaker 3: Oh is it the bag?
[4:04] Speaker 2: It was not the bag. I saw the books that
[4:05] Speaker 2: you gifted him. Yes, and I squealed, and I go,
[4:08] Speaker 2: of course, Gracie fucking reads Eve bab bit and you.
[4:12] Speaker 3: Know what, kaya and I Yes, I had a Library
[4:16] Speaker 3: Science conversation about Eve Babbitts and Joe Didion, And it
[4:20] Speaker 3: was one of my like, it was one of those
[4:21] Speaker 3: moments where you're just relieved when people read. But and
[4:26] Speaker 3: I was, and I was relieved to gift Jake books.
[4:28] Speaker 2: Yes, what was the relief?
[4:33] Speaker 1: No?
[4:33] Speaker 3: No, no, no, no, he will He's the he's the He
[4:36] Speaker 3: was the first to say it. He was like, do
[4:37] Speaker 3: you read? I was like, I do, do you?
[4:39] Speaker 2: He was like crazy, yeah, And then.
[4:42] Speaker 3: He was like, I will read. I told him. I
[4:44] Speaker 3: was like, I'm going to send you a like the
[4:46] Speaker 3: just the beginning of your library, and I wrote him
[4:50] Speaker 3: and then he was like, I will read. I was
[4:53] Speaker 3: like the title, I will.
[4:56] Speaker 2: Read, the the book cover, the blurbs. I said, no,
[5:00] Speaker 2: you should actually read these, like like these are incredible
[5:02] Speaker 2: first like starter package.
[5:04] Speaker 3: I'm glad you approved of them.
[5:05] Speaker 2: Oh yes. And I was like, Jake, you would actually
[5:07] Speaker 2: fucking love you babbits because she's talking about.
[5:10] Speaker 3: She's just talking about the culture. She's talking about the
[5:14] Speaker 3: culture and the babbits.
[5:15] Speaker 1: She's just talking about the culture. It's real culture, number
[5:18] Speaker 1: two babbits. She's just talking about the culture. Then you're
[5:21] Speaker 1: dancing in.
[5:25] Speaker 3: He's really good. It's so nice. It's so nice in
[5:27] Speaker 3: this room. Thank you with all of you.
[5:29] Speaker 1: Well, our best friend Jared is here and he never
[5:31] Speaker 1: comes and sits in, but he is one of.
[5:33] Speaker 3: Your great fact.
[5:35] Speaker 1: Jared, we were there at your concert where the girls
[5:38] Speaker 1: were were ringing ringing around there. Do you see this
[5:42] Speaker 1: from the stage?
[5:44] Speaker 3: And actually we were just talking about this like ten
[5:47] Speaker 3: minutes ago, about the concept. Like someone's like, oh, is
[5:51] Speaker 3: there a marsh And I was like, well, there is.
[5:53] Speaker 3: I wouldn't. I don't know if I would use that
[5:56] Speaker 3: that word. I would.
[5:57] Speaker 1: It's a saush, it's a soft mash.
[6:00] Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, but it is. You make a good point,
[6:02] Speaker 3: like what's happening to that floor space because they stay wide,
[6:07] Speaker 3: which I also I'm like, everybody take their space and
[6:11] Speaker 3: it is theirs to it is theirs to. They they
[6:14] Speaker 3: chose to be on the floor, it's their floor.
[6:17] Speaker 2: You know what our phones out, our phones out phones.
[6:22] Speaker 3: I know, I'm I'm pro put them, I'm your pro
[6:25] Speaker 3: put them down, But well, I actually I live on.
[6:28] Speaker 3: I think I'm pro soak up the experience. You went
[6:32] Speaker 3: out of your way to be here. It's like you
[6:34] Speaker 3: paid money to be here. If you want to record
[6:36] Speaker 3: every single second of it. I advocate for that to you.
[6:39] Speaker 3: I'm not antiphone. I'm pro presence.
[6:43] Speaker 2: So there's this book that's coming out called The Story
[6:45] Speaker 2: of Your Life. I have not read it, but I'm
[6:47] Speaker 2: seeing like people who are getting galleys like talk about
[6:49] Speaker 2: how this is this author that writes about how social
[6:52] Speaker 2: media is whatever about defining all our lives, but specifically
[6:54] Speaker 2: when it comes to pulling out your phone at a concert,
[6:57] Speaker 2: this is why we do it. Are you ready? Yeah,
[6:59] Speaker 2: it's because you're so overwhelmed with emotion and in the
[7:03] Speaker 2: modern the modern condition is such that you don't know
[7:06] Speaker 2: how to process and sit with the emotion then, other
[7:10] Speaker 2: than to take out your phone and record something, because
[7:12] Speaker 2: I don't watch that stuff back. No, you never do.
[7:15] Speaker 1: And also the experience of other people watching it is
[7:17] Speaker 1: never going to be as good. I think it's a
[7:18] Speaker 1: thing of like you are anticipating a moment so much
[7:21] Speaker 1: you think the number one thing to do is capturing,
[7:24] Speaker 1: when what you really should do. What happens to me
[7:27] Speaker 1: is I know this to be true, So I'll have
[7:29] Speaker 1: my phone out and I'll just capture like a boring
[7:31] Speaker 1: part of any song so that I see the part
[7:35] Speaker 1: that's worth capturing or whatever.
[7:36] Speaker 3: Pulling my phone out is the curse for what I'm like,
[7:38] Speaker 3: my goal is immediately gone. Like there's no there's no
[7:42] Speaker 3: success rate, absolutely low success rate.
[7:44] Speaker 1: Yeah, because at a concert you can't play the song again,
[7:48] Speaker 1: and that's real culture number three. At a concert, you
[7:51] Speaker 1: can't play the song.
[7:51] Speaker 3: Again unless you're Audrey Hobert and you do see me
[7:54] Speaker 3: twice she does, she does and you know what she does,
[7:57] Speaker 3: which actually, maybe this isn't mine for me. Well, it's
[8:03] Speaker 3: the best show. Have you guys seen her live yet?
[8:06] Speaker 2: We did a show in l A for Katie Crutchfield
[8:09] Speaker 2: and Darcy Cardon and.
[8:10] Speaker 4: Now oh yeah, and you guys, I saw you guys
[8:12] Speaker 4: singing together together and that was Again it's one of
[8:15] Speaker 4: those things it's like, well, I can't rank why, like
[8:19] Speaker 4: in order, what's the best thing about Audrey's like.
[8:23] Speaker 3: Rise, Yes, selfishly, I think it's that I get to
[8:27] Speaker 3: see more of my friends like on the internet doing things.
[8:30] Speaker 2: Oh that's cool, do you know what I mean?
[8:32] Speaker 3: Yeah, because when we're not in the same place, like
[8:33] Speaker 3: I got to just open Instagram and you two are
[8:36] Speaker 3: singing together on stage. That is what I would like
[8:38] Speaker 3: that in my fantasy, I'd be like, in my simulation,
[8:42] Speaker 3: I'd be like Bowen and Audrey are now on stage together.
[8:44] Speaker 3: Do you know what I mean?
[8:45] Speaker 2: I feel like it is this is we are living
[8:47] Speaker 2: in your simulation.
[8:49] Speaker 3: Well today we are because I get to watch to
[8:51] Speaker 3: you do your job and you get to watch me
[8:55] Speaker 3: drink piss.
[8:56] Speaker 1: You know what's what probably rocks most about the Audrey situation.
[9:01] Speaker 2: And I think the Audry situation situation title of that well.
[9:06] Speaker 1: I was going to say stay wide, but I didn't
[9:07] Speaker 1: want to be rude to have one in the room
[9:10] Speaker 1: crass title crass idea for a title stay wid Why anyway?
[9:14] Speaker 1: Moving on, I feel like it's that thing of when
[9:17] Speaker 1: you just you think that someone around you is really
[9:19] Speaker 1: special and then the world starts to confirm it. Well,
[9:22] Speaker 1: we're like, oh whoa, whoa, whoa, Like these these things
[9:26] Speaker 1: that I got to experience, everyone's getting that same feeling,
[9:31] Speaker 1: and that's that's fun.
[9:33] Speaker 3: It's just it's like the It's I grew up with
[9:36] Speaker 3: her voice in my head all the time every day
[9:39] Speaker 3: for sixteen years, and I'm just I just now others
[9:45] Speaker 3: get to have that, So I'm just like, we're all better.
[9:47] Speaker 2: Off jealous, You're jealous.
[9:51] Speaker 3: I'm guys, I have a it's the best. Also, Also,
[10:00] Speaker 3: I mean, and I never want to move on from
[10:02] Speaker 3: this topic, but to see, I'm just so excited because
[10:05] Speaker 3: she's she's doing festivals this summer, like can you imagine
[10:07] Speaker 3: being at Lala And then like, can you imagine like
[10:10] Speaker 3: being at Lala and if you for some reason don't
[10:12] Speaker 3: know who she is yet? And then you hear like
[10:15] Speaker 3: and you're like, I'm gonna chase.
[10:16] Speaker 1: That audience that's there is going to be giving. It's
[10:22] Speaker 1: going to be a Chapel moment.
[10:23] Speaker 2: Well, I was gonna say I think so, because when
[10:25] Speaker 2: Suey first came out and the video came out, I
[10:27] Speaker 2: was like, like, I I feel like Matt. Matt was
[10:30] Speaker 2: on Chapel from the jump.
[10:32] Speaker 3: I remember it. I remember.
[10:34] Speaker 2: I wanted to say this on pod, but I felt
[10:36] Speaker 2: too shy because I feel like I'm not as prescient
[10:38] Speaker 2: as you. But I was like, I think this Audrey
[10:40] Speaker 2: Hobert girl is.
[10:41] Speaker 1: Like no, you were always right about that.
[10:42] Speaker 3: Also, but you've all, in my experience, you've always been supporting, Like.
[10:48] Speaker 2: I support the Core for sure, for sure, but I'm
[10:52] Speaker 2: also like I'm not I'm not gonna be as like
[10:55] Speaker 2: I'm not gonna, I'm not gonna.
[10:56] Speaker 3: You're not being declarative.
[10:58] Speaker 2: I don't want to stick his.
[10:59] Speaker 1: Neck out because what if something horrible, God forbid, like
[11:03] Speaker 1: a flop, like a flop single.
[11:07] Speaker 2: No, there's no chance with that chance with sixteen years.
[11:12] Speaker 2: But then the process been the same when you guys
[11:13] Speaker 2: have been writing together where it's like wine nights or
[11:15] Speaker 2: is it it's changed over time.
[11:17] Speaker 3: Well, it's like we just lived together. Well well well
[11:20] Speaker 3: well well well we we just were we were roommates, yes,
[11:26] Speaker 3: and then we just started writing songs together, which is
[11:29] Speaker 3: like such a weird all of a sudden one day
[11:32] Speaker 3: because I imagine with the two of you, what you
[11:34] Speaker 3: make together, it was probably not like a.
[11:36] Speaker 1: Born out of friendship instead of like we have to
[11:38] Speaker 1: create Yeah exactly.
[11:39] Speaker 3: There's no like sit down conversation. It's just like there's
[11:42] Speaker 3: a guitar and both of us are there and we're
[11:45] Speaker 3: already like we just started laughing while we were strumming,
[11:49] Speaker 3: and then it made it. It made it. That was
[11:51] Speaker 3: like the bar for us of what we chose to
[11:54] Speaker 3: keep in like lyrics that either felt so correct or
[11:57] Speaker 3: made us laugh the hardest.
[11:58] Speaker 1: You said that about that so true too. Yeah, you
[12:01] Speaker 1: guys were cracking up by the end of it.
[12:02] Speaker 3: Yes, and we have a song on this album as
[12:05] Speaker 3: well that that we wrote I think the same week
[12:08] Speaker 3: that we did that's so true, which like also made
[12:09] Speaker 3: us giggle in that sense, you know.
[12:12] Speaker 1: On this album Mini Bar Mini Bar is fab.
[12:16] Speaker 3: It's like zippy. Yeah, well, she's just it's like there's
[12:21] Speaker 3: that there's that I feel like the shorthand of your
[12:25] Speaker 3: best friend, and and it's just so yeah, yes, well
[12:29] Speaker 3: you don't I wish she was here.
[12:35] Speaker 1: No, it is that thing where it's like you don't
[12:37] Speaker 1: think it's going to translate, and then it very much does.
[12:39] Speaker 1: It's what I always wish that things are more specific
[12:44] Speaker 1: and less broad. I mean, but we should say specifically.
[12:47] Speaker 1: You guys are wearing the same goddamn shoe today.
[12:49] Speaker 3: Yeah, you have an amazing point.
[12:52] Speaker 2: I don't know if my arch is non existent.
[12:54] Speaker 3: I think, what do you mean non existent? Like you're
[12:56] Speaker 3: just flat?
[12:57] Speaker 1: You're currently I'm flat.
[12:59] Speaker 3: I'm flat?
[12:59] Speaker 2: Really you wait, we're just gonna step on I don't think.
[13:03] Speaker 3: So, honey, are you gonna steal on it right now?
[13:05] Speaker 2: I feel like sounds like you have some foot in security.
[13:09] Speaker 5: Oh no, no, no, no sounds like no no, no no,
[13:14] Speaker 5: because of what I said, because we can't.
[13:15] Speaker 3: Oh because my ankles. Ankles about my ankles, I just
[13:20] Speaker 3: sometimes but but yeah, let's make it personal. It's my ankles.
[13:25] Speaker 3: I actually I would love to talk about feet.
[13:27] Speaker 2: I have a couple.
[13:28] Speaker 3: I have a few questions. Over New Year's we were all.
[13:33] Speaker 2: Well, we were all there there for New Years.
[13:36] Speaker 3: Over New Year's we were all talking about Wiki feet,
[13:39] Speaker 3: that's the thing. And I had never explored that platform. Yes,
[13:43] Speaker 3: and many of our friends have explored it, which I
[13:47] Speaker 3: was like, okay, totally like I anyway, news to me, Okay,
[13:52] Speaker 3: there is there's there's ratings, and there are comments. Okay,
[13:57] Speaker 3: so I have in my mind wide feet. I've just
[14:01] Speaker 3: noticed this. Okay everyone look.
[14:04] Speaker 2: Literally no, no.
[14:05] Speaker 3: This part bone to.
[14:07] Speaker 1: Bone, well, every honey, everyone's foot there.
[14:09] Speaker 3: I know it's the widest part of the foot in theory.
[14:11] Speaker 3: But I've always felt this, and so I'm for the
[14:14] Speaker 3: first time in my life over New Years this past
[14:16] Speaker 3: year on Wiki feet with everyone, and I come across
[14:19] Speaker 3: a comment about my own that this this man wasn't
[14:23] Speaker 3: writing from a place of like any fetish or like
[14:27] Speaker 3: there was no sexual angle. It was as if he
[14:30] Speaker 3: was a doctor, going like, I fear she might have
[14:34] Speaker 3: like a bunion in her future.
[14:36] Speaker 2: You don't have a bunyan girl in your future. In
[14:38] Speaker 2: my future, we don't know psychic and you wish she
[14:42] Speaker 2: had had more of a sexual fetish. She sort of
[14:44] Speaker 2: angle to it. No, No, I.
[14:45] Speaker 3: Definitely I wasn't like damn it, but I was a no.
[14:48] Speaker 3: But I was then curious, like and so and so,
[14:51] Speaker 3: having already noticed when I put on heels that are
[14:55] Speaker 3: like meant for like a lady, sometimes my foot feels
[14:59] Speaker 3: too wide to go in section. So anyway, basically, no,
[15:02] Speaker 3: I'm like, is he right? And then like and that,
[15:04] Speaker 3: I wonder like, is there something preventive that I could
[15:07] Speaker 3: be doing.
[15:07] Speaker 2: I feel like I'm onto something.

[15:14] Speaker 3: Head about everything feet, about.
[15:15] Speaker 2: Everything feet and everything.
[15:18] Speaker 1: You so much you just you just locked it in
[15:21] Speaker 1: the title of that is everything feet.
[15:23] Speaker 3: That guy's gonna love it.
[15:24] Speaker 2: Of course, I will say, I feel like I have
[15:29] Speaker 2: some of the most beautiful feet in the history of man.
[15:33] Speaker 3: I'm not going to ask you to show him, but
[15:35] Speaker 3: I will find you on WOOKI feet? Have you looked
[15:39] Speaker 3: up your score?
[15:40] Speaker 1: I've looked on it. I'm one of those frees.
[15:41] Speaker 3: One of our friends, she was so proud about being
[15:46] Speaker 3: the highest ranking member in the group that like.
[15:53] Speaker 1: You're too proud.
[15:54] Speaker 2: You said, you're too proud, And I was.
[15:56] Speaker 3: Like, but I would also probably react that way if
[15:58] Speaker 3: there weren't doctors in my in my forum.
[16:02] Speaker 2: Sure, but I think the way I feel about my
[16:04] Speaker 2: feet is I need I need to apply this. I
[16:07] Speaker 2: need to I need to be written large in terms
[16:09] Speaker 2: of my whole life, where I'm like, oh, it doesn't
[16:11] Speaker 2: matter what other people think because my rating on wiki
[16:13] Speaker 2: feed is in the gutter what And I'm like, I
[16:16] Speaker 2: don't care. This is actually dead wrong.
[16:19] Speaker 3: When people review your album like it fucking sucks, but
[16:21] Speaker 3: it's like I had a fun.
[16:22] Speaker 2: Making it exactly.
[16:26] Speaker 3: It's yeah, you know, it's a part of your soul.
[16:29] Speaker 1: Well, I feel like my feet are they're they're treating
[16:33] Speaker 1: if Wicked Feet is Pitchfork, they're treating my feet like
[16:36] Speaker 1: it's like it's an apple because like, I have a
[16:40] Speaker 1: very high rating, and I have to tell you, I
[16:42] Speaker 1: would not describe my feet as Fiona apple coated. I
[16:44] Speaker 1: think my feet are.
[16:46] Speaker 6: No.
[16:46] Speaker 1: Everyone who sees my feet are just like, put those away?
[16:49] Speaker 3: What do you mean?
[16:49] Speaker 2: Wait?
[16:49] Speaker 1: Hold on, My friend Dave calls them the steaks. Jared appy,
[16:52] Speaker 1: what do you think you hate them? They're bad, They're
[16:56] Speaker 1: not good.
[16:57] Speaker 2: Why describe I'm going to be very vulnerable?
[17:00] Speaker 3: Okay, Well finally I'm was like talking about like.
[17:04] Speaker 1: You're like a few years ago. A few years ago,
[17:08] Speaker 1: I made the fatal, the fatal mistake of yes, showering
[17:12] Speaker 1: at the Hollywood Equinox with no shoes on.
[17:14] Speaker 3: Oh, this is actually a part of my later really please.
[17:18] Speaker 1: As a result, I got athlete's foot, and it really
[17:22] Speaker 1: wasn't good there for a little while, and to the
[17:24] Speaker 1: point where like it had to be, like I had to,
[17:26] Speaker 1: I had to start a relationship.
[17:27] Speaker 3: With Jared is shaking his head.
[17:29] Speaker 1: You can't believe I'm this candid on the pod?
[17:31] Speaker 3: Was it visually a thing?
[17:33] Speaker 1: Just let's just say I was surprised to see my
[17:37] Speaker 1: wicked feet rating so high. Jesus, last last as long
[17:42] Speaker 1: as you let it.
[17:43] Speaker 3: Is it a topical situation.
[17:44] Speaker 1: Likeream it is, it's very treatable, very curable. It's on
[17:47] Speaker 1: this foot, it's on where is it?
[17:50] Speaker 3: No?
[17:50] Speaker 2: No, no, it was.
[17:51] Speaker 1: It was on both feet. That's how fungus works. Here's
[17:55] Speaker 1: here's the thing about feet.
[17:57] Speaker 3: Though I love topical creed.
[18:00] Speaker 2: I love topical Do they work?
[18:02] Speaker 3: I don't know. It's always like results in better over times, like.
[18:07] Speaker 1: Results in time, results in time. You will see results
[18:11] Speaker 1: in time.
[18:11] Speaker 3: Ess.
[18:12] Speaker 1: Actually, with the culture number nine, you will see results
[18:14] Speaker 1: in time.
[18:16] Speaker 2: Did you just have a breakup?
[18:17] Speaker 3: Honey?
[18:18] Speaker 1: Time, honey, You're gonna love time?
[18:22] Speaker 2: Honey, baby, oh baby, time.
[18:24] Speaker 3: Time.
[18:26] Speaker 1: The description is time.
[18:28] Speaker 2: I think if someone were to, if you were to,
[18:31] Speaker 2: if Jared were to describe why Matt's theater bad qualitatively,
[18:36] Speaker 2: you would And I thought they were flowing away from it.
[18:39] Speaker 2: Why they're bad. I think this should be the topic
[18:41] Speaker 2: of the whole episode. Feed everything.
[18:45] Speaker 3: I know because I listen.
[18:47] Speaker 1: Well, you know, the only other time we did that
[18:49] Speaker 1: was when Iowa Deputy was on a few years ago
[18:51] Speaker 1: and we talked only about Omerosaile was when she came
[18:56] Speaker 1: out and said everyone will bow down to the most
[18:59] Speaker 1: powerful man in the universe. And we always start the
[19:01] Speaker 1: episode with the dingdong, except that episode, we started with

[21:08] Speaker 1: to come in, and I was like, I'm not meeting
[21:10] Speaker 1: her on the camera walking in there because I saw
[21:13] Speaker 1: you guys do a TikTok together at us.
[21:15] Speaker 3: Immediately dropped to my knees. I'm like sorry to everyone
[21:18] Speaker 3: else in the room. Well, I found out that you
[21:21] Speaker 3: liked our show when warm Anyway.
[21:25] Speaker 1: I found that you liked our show when you saw
[21:26] Speaker 1: Hannah Einbinder on it and she cried delicious at the top.
[21:30] Speaker 3: Yeah, I I wish I were capable of accessing like tears.
[21:36] Speaker 2: You can't.
[21:37] Speaker 3: I mean I could go there, I could go there.
[21:41] Speaker 1: What about your upcoming potentially, well, you have to cry
[21:46] Speaker 1: in your upcoming film debut?
[21:48] Speaker 3: Oh shit, oh shit, I'm going to just drink nothing.
[21:54] Speaker 3: I don't, I don't think so what can I say? Well, well,
[22:00] Speaker 3: have you seen Helena's previous.
[22:02] Speaker 1: We're fans of Helen's.
[22:03] Speaker 3: She's she would be incredible on this podcast because she
[22:08] Speaker 3: is just the most Have you met her.
[22:11] Speaker 1: No, but I've heard that she is a very vivid character.
[22:14] Speaker 3: A hundred Yeah, she's really She's a really an amazing person.
[22:18] Speaker 3: And I just whenever she speaks about anything, I'm like,
[22:21] Speaker 3: give her the mic.
[22:22] Speaker 1: I've been waiting for you to get on camera in
[22:24] Speaker 1: anacting way. I do feel you are a superstar.
[22:28] Speaker 3: Well, that's generous and you got it. Well, I will
[22:30] Speaker 3: take that from you because it's Helena. To me, Helena,
[22:36] Speaker 3: it's Helena. It's Elena. She is she is. When I
[22:38] Speaker 3: when I read the script that she wrote, I was like,
[22:41] Speaker 3: what the And she sent it to me just being like,
[22:44] Speaker 3: would you ever want to read it? And I was like,
[22:45] Speaker 3: not thinking she was asking me to read it in
[22:48] Speaker 3: the sense of like motive, but I just loved her.
[22:52] Speaker 3: We got breakfast three years ago once because a friend
[22:54] Speaker 3: connected us, and it was similarly to I was like,
[22:57] Speaker 3: I have known you, I've known you before, and and
[23:00] Speaker 3: then and then the next time he communicated was when
[23:04] Speaker 3: she sent me the script.
[23:06] Speaker 1: How are you with milk? There's a lot of milk
[23:08] Speaker 1: on her sets.
[23:10] Speaker 3: Actually, actually there is milk.
[23:12] Speaker 1: Actually there's a film.
[23:13] Speaker 3: There's good guys, so many glasses of tall, tall milk everywhere.
[23:22] Speaker 3: Now no more glasses of milk as far as I'm concerned,
[23:25] Speaker 3: But movies, maybe the set designer will like, yeah, there
[23:32] Speaker 3: might be pissed.
[23:34] Speaker 2: Here's a tip on crying. I don't think this has
[23:36] Speaker 2: worked on me. Imagine there's a column within you, a column,
[23:41] Speaker 2: a column whatever. Ionic uh, Corinthian, I don't even know
[23:45] Speaker 2: what the other columns are.
[23:46] Speaker 1: Do you know the difference between Ionic and Corinthian columns.
[23:48] Speaker 3: I'm gonna if you're going to give more contexts, I
[23:51] Speaker 3: might be able to use context clues.
[23:53] Speaker 2: Just a column.
[23:55] Speaker 1: I believe Corinthian have the lines straight down, of.
[23:58] Speaker 3: Course, I'm just sorry they of course, But what was
[24:01] Speaker 3: the first one? What is an Ionics just a base scroll?
[24:05] Speaker 2: The scroll at the top still has lines, but then
[24:07] Speaker 2: Corinthian has like these embellishments like these natural heard just
[24:10] Speaker 2: imagine a calm within you, huh collapsing.
[24:14] Speaker 3: That gets you? Okay ready everyone, No, I actually can't.
[24:19] Speaker 2: Already we're dying.
[24:21] Speaker 3: Wait, this is like to my reliable place I saw.
[24:25] Speaker 3: I've been sort of starting to get like on my reels,
[24:29] Speaker 3: reels is reels is my top?
[24:32] Speaker 2: All yeah, and it's great, it's so good.
[24:35] Speaker 3: Way from there, yeah a bit. I've been starting to
[24:43] Speaker 3: get like I will dwell like just long enough on
[24:46] Speaker 3: on clips of certain I will dwell long enough, long enough.
[24:52] Speaker 1: And then and then the algorithms, well, she's dwelling, well,
[24:56] Speaker 1: our girl is dwelling on this one.
[24:57] Speaker 7: So yes, of course, the way the algorith famously works,
[25:00] Speaker 7: and then it'll give me like these these beautiful like
[25:05] Speaker 7: old women talking about how they make themselves, crying like
[25:08] Speaker 7: I will, like I will, like just.
[25:10] Speaker 3: Me in my room. I've been doing that at the
[25:13] Speaker 3: end of these long days and like go there.
[25:15] Speaker 1: And do you in the mirror you're always yeah, literally,
[25:22] Speaker 1: then by the end of this we will oh my god,
[25:24] Speaker 1: oh my god, my god, my god.
[25:25] Speaker 2: And you put your lip too.
[25:26] Speaker 1: Looking at.
[25:28] Speaker 3: Imagine the most devastating.
[25:33] Speaker 2: Affected real shorts.
[25:38] Speaker 3: TikTok uh reel shorts. I don't well, I have kill shorts.
[25:48] Speaker 3: Sorry it also YouTube you do I've never been I
[25:56] Speaker 3: never I have.
[25:58] Speaker 1: It's never never watch a short?
[25:59] Speaker 3: Well, kill TikTok. And also, by the way, well all
[26:05] Speaker 3: you all go.
[26:05] Speaker 2: And then off kill TikTok. I'm marrying shorts because it's
[26:08] Speaker 2: usually like recipes and wholes.
[26:10] Speaker 3: You've never been on shorts? Are you on your phone?
[26:14] Speaker 2: Like like everything else gets it because it's how the
[26:15] Speaker 2: olgorithm works to it's just here's.
[26:17] Speaker 3: A short, wait but wait, but no, but I've never
[26:19] Speaker 3: I've never been fed a short.
[26:21] Speaker 1: Do you go on YouTube for fun?
[26:23] Speaker 3: Like I've ever been fed a short?
[26:27] Speaker 1: Never?
[26:28] Speaker 3: Seriously? Where you on YouTube and you on your phone?
[26:32] Speaker 2: Yeah?
[26:32] Speaker 1: You just kind of do the thing. I I can't
[26:35] Speaker 1: explain either.
[26:36] Speaker 2: How you do?
[26:37] Speaker 6: No?
[26:37] Speaker 2: You if you go on YouTube for anything? Yeah, out
[26:41] Speaker 2: of a video, there's gonna be a hole above the fold.
[26:44] Speaker 2: They say in web design they have like a they
[26:46] Speaker 2: have like a row of shorts that are just like
[26:49] Speaker 2: little clipped.
[26:50] Speaker 1: Videos watching shorts and you don't even know.
[26:51] Speaker 2: You don't even know you're watching shorts?
[26:53] Speaker 3: Are they horizontal?
[26:55] Speaker 2: So I'm not Can I tell you what I've never
[26:57] Speaker 2: got yesterday? Vertical integration? Yes, but that's a different vertical.
[27:02] Speaker 2: Oh right, it's like you're integrating your vertical about columns vertical?
[27:08] Speaker 1: I cry because of this topic. Okay, so we have
[27:12] Speaker 1: to ask you the central question of our podcast, and
[27:14] Speaker 1: I I just know you.
[27:15] Speaker 2: Came with a with an answer answer.
[27:18] Speaker 1: I had abrams, what was the culture that made you say?
[27:20] Speaker 1: Culture was for you? Ultimately?
[27:23] Speaker 3: Ultimately it was pure heroin God. Ultimately it was.
[27:30] Speaker 1: Of the offerings it was.
[27:32] Speaker 3: And then I was like, was it Megita Perez? And
[27:35] Speaker 3: then truly Magita are you?
[27:38] Speaker 1: No?
[27:39] Speaker 3: I was like, it was it Magita pres because also
[27:41] Speaker 3: like forget the Marnie of it all, Magita like now
[27:46] Speaker 3: and I was gonna say Megita press and then I
[27:47] Speaker 3: was also thinking like Beach House episode two shots where
[27:51] Speaker 3: they've had the blow up and they yeah, but the
[27:53] Speaker 3: nonverbal Marnie comes into the kitchen and they're all cleaning
[27:57] Speaker 3: and they're not speaking, and then they're still not speaking
[27:59] Speaker 3: and it's their doing there, and I was like, that
[28:01] Speaker 3: is I grew up me Audrey, Leela and clem Are
[28:05] Speaker 3: hour four. That like when I watched Girls when it
[28:09] Speaker 3: came out, and I was like, too young, and it
[28:12] Speaker 3: like helped inspire all of the kind of you know,
[28:14] Speaker 3: it's like what like Adam Driver as a whole, you're
[28:16] Speaker 3: sort of like you wonder as an adult why certain
[28:19] Speaker 3: things are like yeah, like why and I'm like, oh,
[28:22] Speaker 3: because I was twelve.
[28:24] Speaker 1: Yeah anyway at those dynamics, yes, of course.
[28:28] Speaker 3: Yeah, whatever, but whatever and anyway, and then so so anyway,
[28:33] Speaker 3: so I was thinking those Megita, I.
[28:35] Speaker 1: Just what about Megita the interaction.
[28:38] Speaker 3: The interaction, I felt like, you just see her, You've
[28:44] Speaker 3: also she's like, I'm she backs herself. She immediately and
[28:48] Speaker 3: that smile on her face when she walks with six
[28:50] Speaker 3: hundred dollars is the biggest smile you see on Marty's
[28:53] Speaker 3: face except for when Daisy's proposing also when yeah, anyway we.
[28:58] Speaker 2: Go on, it's pure Haro, it's your heroine. But hold
[29:01] Speaker 2: on before we go back to your Haroin. That is it.
[29:05] Speaker 2: I've never been more shook on this podcast.
[29:09] Speaker 1: He only ever wants to talk about Megita.
[29:11] Speaker 2: No hype. Yeah, I think Perez like once a week.
[29:15] Speaker 3: Yeah, Allison is going to be the car here. And
[29:20] Speaker 3: I was like, I had this like impulse to not
[29:23] Speaker 3: change my handle on Instagram, just changed my name.
[29:28] Speaker 1: That would be really strong for forty eight hours twenty four.
[29:33] Speaker 3: Yeah. Right, It's like part of album promound.
[29:37] Speaker 2: Like pop craves, like a track called Gita.
[29:40] Speaker 3: Perez is Megita on the album.
[29:44] Speaker 2: You have to wear the the red halter, the red halter,
[29:48] Speaker 2: Oh my god.
[29:48] Speaker 3: When she goes the slit up the front.
[29:51] Speaker 2: But the way she says Megita, Perez.
[29:54] Speaker 3: Meggita but she doesn't Mekita. Period.
[29:59] Speaker 2: There's a little, a little roll in the army, Mikita
[30:02] Speaker 2: pet What did she say? I find if I go,
[30:07] Speaker 2: if I go about the.
[30:07] Speaker 3: Two hundred extra, if I'm going above the tenth floor.
[30:11] Speaker 2: And then she talks her behind he she goes, I
[30:13] Speaker 2: have a fear of heights.
[30:15] Speaker 1: Yeah, she's an like two hundred extra if I go
[30:18] Speaker 1: above the tenth floor, like she has some like fear
[30:20] Speaker 1: that they can pay for It's incredible.
[30:22] Speaker 3: There's but there's two. There's two, she gets, she gets,
[30:26] Speaker 3: there's another. Feel what's the other feet above the tenth floor?
[30:29] Speaker 2: Dress? Rental?
[30:30] Speaker 1: Dress?
[30:30] Speaker 2: Oh my god, Oh my god, dress rental one hundred
[30:34] Speaker 2: unless you want me to come in my jeane.
[30:36] Speaker 1: Way, Can I point out you're sort of the Megita
[30:39] Speaker 1: red You sort of came dress where.
[30:48] Speaker 3: Color of the year.
[30:51] Speaker 1: Megita red.
[30:52] Speaker 3: Anyway, but it was pure haro.
[30:53] Speaker 2: Okay, let's talk about your heroin.
[30:55] Speaker 1: I also have a formative experience with it.
[30:57] Speaker 3: It's when I started smoking we okay, so okay, right,
[31:01] Speaker 3: So talking about it, well, I felt like there's lots
[31:06] Speaker 3: to say the I feel like there are these moments,
[31:10] Speaker 3: you know, like Buyork and Kate Bush and like Rosalia,
[31:15] Speaker 3: like subverting pop and just redefining it. And I felt,
[31:20] Speaker 3: you know, Lord who has since become such a dear friend,
[31:25] Speaker 3: and so all of these memories are so hysterical and
[31:28] Speaker 3: even more important than they were then because I get
[31:32] Speaker 3: to like love her so much for the quality of
[31:35] Speaker 3: human being that she is. She was like a couple
[31:38] Speaker 3: years older than me, and I was fourteen when Peter
[31:41] Speaker 3: Heroin came out, And that week that it came out,
[31:43] Speaker 3: she was having a show at the Fonda in LA
[31:48] Speaker 3: and I went, and it was the first show I've
[31:50] Speaker 3: ever seen where like the concept of potentially performing was like,
[31:56] Speaker 3: that was the first time I was ever not like
[32:00] Speaker 3: absolutely fucking never, because.
[32:02] Speaker 2: That's what it was before that. No, that was That's
[32:04] Speaker 2: what it.
[32:04] Speaker 3: Was like forever. Yeah, But seeing her know herself and
[32:08] Speaker 3: also just be up there and command the crowd and
[32:11] Speaker 3: not have like this flashy it was just her. She
[32:15] Speaker 3: was she had her like long curly black hair, and
[32:17] Speaker 3: she was wearing this huge, like it felt like a cape,
[32:21] Speaker 3: like this long black dress, and it was just her
[32:24] Speaker 3: and it just blew my mind and rocked my world.
[32:27] Speaker 3: And I feel like it's always stuck with me in
[32:31] Speaker 3: that same.
[32:31] Speaker 2: Yes, of course, because we were in college when Royals
[32:35] Speaker 2: came out. I remember this. I was like, I was
[32:37] Speaker 2: living in Crown Heights. I was like, I don't know
[32:39] Speaker 2: what my life is. I gotta figure this out. I
[32:40] Speaker 2: like pulled out of med school applications. I was like,
[32:43] Speaker 2: I gotta really rethink things. But something about pure Haroin
[32:47] Speaker 2: like soundtracked, like I think it's time, but I think
[32:50] Speaker 2: it timestamps everyone's life. Yes, you know, and within a
[32:55] Speaker 2: certain like age bracket or whatever in terms of like
[32:57] Speaker 2: whatever you were going through, it's it's pure hair. When
[33:00] Speaker 2: it's all it's like agree.
[33:01] Speaker 3: And I loved how dark it was yep, yeah, yeah,
[33:04] Speaker 3: And I think when you're like a tumblr middle schooler
[33:07] Speaker 3: and it just was it was exactly perfect. It was
[33:11] Speaker 3: exactly perfect.
[33:12] Speaker 1: I'll never forget. Like really listening to four hundred Lucks,
[33:16] Speaker 1: I was like.
[33:16] Speaker 2: How old is she really?
[33:18] Speaker 1: It really didn't make any sense and all those signs were.
[33:21] Speaker 3: You eight hundred?
[33:23] Speaker 1: Yeah, it's it's pretty wild.
[33:27] Speaker 3: She's like an owl inside, yes, her beautiful body.
[33:31] Speaker 1: There was just there was just something that was so like, yeah,
[33:36] Speaker 1: it just that was when I in the West Village.
[33:39] Speaker 1: This was it for me, West Village in my tiny apartment,
[33:44] Speaker 1: smoking weed for the first time and walking around the
[33:46] Speaker 1: West Village like we're getting good at this, yes, and
[33:50] Speaker 1: like it was just like the girl was fourteen years
[33:52] Speaker 1: old and I'm vibing out.
[33:54] Speaker 3: Yeah totally. And also I felt like I because she
[33:57] Speaker 3: she I think she's like two years older than me.
[34:00] Speaker 3: And I was like, I feel like there was that
[34:05] Speaker 3: was just the time where I was like really yearning
[34:08] Speaker 3: to like break free, yeah you know what I mean?
[34:11] Speaker 3: And that album makes you want.
[34:12] Speaker 1: To like lead to lead, Yeah, go somewhere else.
[34:16] Speaker 3: And I didn't have my license yet and like long
[34:20] Speaker 3: reax exactly our exit music.
[34:25] Speaker 1: That's good for later.
[34:27] Speaker 3: You guys are so many great segments on this show.
[34:29] Speaker 1: Can I tell you that's shocking to hear because they
[34:31] Speaker 1: literally sat us down the first day we ever had
[34:33] Speaker 1: the podcast. I was like, oh, before we record, you
[34:34] Speaker 1: guys should probably have segments and we were like, oh, wow,
[34:38] Speaker 1: I don't think so, honey, Yeah.
[34:40] Speaker 3: Did you come up with it on the spot.
[34:41] Speaker 1: It was something we used to say to each other, are.
[34:43] Speaker 3: You still working with those people?
[34:45] Speaker 1: Which person no.
[34:47] Speaker 3: So don't you feel kind of.
[34:49] Speaker 2: But the beautiful thing about the podcast is that people
[34:52] Speaker 2: say otherwise, it really hasn't changed, Like formally, it's been
[34:55] Speaker 2: the same.
[34:55] Speaker 1: He starts.
[34:56] Speaker 3: Do you know the people.
[34:58] Speaker 1: Think about the podcast is it is really the same.
[35:02] Speaker 3: Peacock on the radio show. But how long has it
[35:08] Speaker 3: been now that what the hell?
[35:11] Speaker 1: When did you first hear that we were a podcast?
[35:13] Speaker 3: I mean, it's like always been In. It's one of
[35:17] Speaker 3: those things though, truly where I actually you know when
[35:19] Speaker 3: you can't remember a time before something.
[35:22] Speaker 1: That's sort of like true. So it was it first
[35:24] Speaker 1: was Lord, then a few years later we decided to
[35:27] Speaker 1: the podcast.
[35:28] Speaker 2: It's true.
[35:28] Speaker 1: I think if there's no pure Heroin, there's no lost culture. Yes, wow,
[35:32] Speaker 1: because I never started smoking weed, then.
[35:34] Speaker 3: Exactly, that is the link, that is the link between.
[35:38] Speaker 2: Everything and everything. What's your favorite song on the album?
[35:41] Speaker 1: Yeah, come on, I think Ribs Yeah, kind of a
[35:45] Speaker 1: class I think it.
[35:45] Speaker 3: Just like that's the one I would choose. Yes, yes, yes, yes.
[35:50] Speaker 3: And I also think it's like I loved her last
[35:56] Speaker 3: album so much and also again, I feel like all
[36:00] Speaker 3: of her albums they came at the exact correct time
[36:04] Speaker 3: and and this one last year came out the first
[36:09] Speaker 3: day of Gloston or no the yeah, the Friday of Glastonbury. Yeah,
[36:13] Speaker 3: and we were in the mud. We were I wish
[36:16] Speaker 3: it was muddy. We didn't go to most people like
[36:18] Speaker 3: people were so stoked. Was that that was my first
[36:20] Speaker 3: one And we were playing Friday night at like seven thirty.
[36:23] Speaker 3: It was like the it's the best weekend of my life.
[36:25] Speaker 3: But her album came out that morning and she had
[36:27] Speaker 3: a surprise show and I wasn't on festival grounds yet,
[36:30] Speaker 3: but I sat and I got ready to go listening
[36:33] Speaker 3: to her album and it was just it's the exact
[36:35] Speaker 3: same feeling. It feels like you're like being like plugged
[36:38] Speaker 3: into your life.
[36:40] Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a great way to put it.
[36:42] Speaker 3: I just love her, you guys.
[36:45] Speaker 1: She actually was supposed to come in and then we
[36:48] Speaker 1: had to reschedule or it just didn't end up happening
[36:50] Speaker 1: for that cycle. But she's been floating around the pod
[36:52] Speaker 1: for a while.
[36:53] Speaker 3: She's just the coolest.
[36:55] Speaker 2: Yeah, she's so cool. Yeah, another common thread you're you
[37:02] Speaker 2: were speaking you you speak of a lot of people
[37:05] Speaker 2: whom you love in terms of like a past life.
[37:09] Speaker 2: Maybe not that you're saying, but this about that lord,
[37:11] Speaker 2: but it's like she's eight hundred years old. There's an
[37:13] Speaker 2: awl inside her.
[37:14] Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, like there's something spiritual. Do you see the
[37:19] Speaker 1: animals and everyone?
[37:20] Speaker 2: Do you see and that's beautiful?
[37:23] Speaker 1: See the animals?
[37:25] Speaker 3: You are reminding me of a bumblebee.
[37:29] Speaker 1: Oh I've never heard that, you are. I've heard seal
[37:34] Speaker 1: and I've heard every bad dinosaur.
[37:36] Speaker 3: What the hell?
[37:37] Speaker 2: I think? I have a lot of friends that want
[37:39] Speaker 2: to knock me down. Yeah, a sea lion, and I
[37:42] Speaker 2: see the sea lion of content. It's coming up on
[37:44] Speaker 2: your reels now too.
[37:45] Speaker 1: It's a lot of a lot of times I'll be
[37:47] Speaker 1: on reels now and I'll just flick flick, flick, and
[37:49] Speaker 1: then I'll see you or or or I don't like.
[37:52] Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah I don't. I hate when it's the videos
[37:54] Speaker 3: of them in an institution, I know.
[37:57] Speaker 1: Okay, So then I choose to this one.
[37:59] Speaker 3: Great video tation center, and I understand.
[38:01] Speaker 1: And I think that's what it was, because someone did
[38:03] Speaker 1: get in my d MS and I did clock that.
[38:05] Speaker 1: Everything else before they had said was also nasty. But
[38:08] Speaker 1: they were like, are you posting this this captivated animal?
[38:11] Speaker 1: I'm like, okay, I I really just loved his energy.
[38:15] Speaker 3: Yeah, it's everyone.
[38:16] Speaker 2: So this is this is this is the one thing
[38:20] Speaker 2: on the internet. It's no, we have to we have
[38:24] Speaker 2: to contact love, touch to touch.
[38:27] Speaker 1: My conniverse really ruins.
[38:29] Speaker 2: I shouldn't have worn socks today.
[38:30] Speaker 3: No no, no, no, you should have.
[38:32] Speaker 2: I should have to now. I don't want to wear
[38:34] Speaker 2: I want to show my ankles because you're gonna make
[38:36] Speaker 2: fun of them.
[38:36] Speaker 3: No no, no, no, no, you should no no no, no, no.
[38:38] Speaker 6: No, no, don't don't wait. No they're gonna smell, no
[38:47] Speaker 6: freaking out, no no no.
[38:49] Speaker 3: And they are perfect feet, not now.
[38:51] Speaker 1: After a petty was hold no no, no, no, I'll do
[38:55] Speaker 1: I'll do this.
[38:56] Speaker 3: No suck Matt my shoes off, both of them, perfect feet,
[39:01] Speaker 3: perfect people. I'm in fact gonna get on wiki feet,
[39:03] Speaker 3: make a profile.
[39:04] Speaker 2: And then rate me.
[39:06] Speaker 1: I like, I think it's better with the song.
[39:09] Speaker 3: It's better with the sock and ever and no one
[39:10] Speaker 3: look at me.
[39:11] Speaker 2: You know, if you went home and there was like
[39:13] Speaker 2: a bot farm, that would be so funny. If you
[39:16] Speaker 2: just had a million.
[39:17] Speaker 3: Fills saying block crazy apron, trust me, trust, trust farm,
[39:25] Speaker 3: that would be you're a hummingbird to me?
[39:30] Speaker 1: Sorry being a hummingbird. Aren't we rivals in the fields?
[39:34] Speaker 3: What are you?
[39:35] Speaker 1: I just feel like being a hummingbird. They do a
[39:37] Speaker 1: lot of the same stuff.
[39:38] Speaker 2: We're both going for the flower.
[39:39] Speaker 3: But maybe there's a second order though in the is it?
[39:43] Speaker 1: I think? Well, I guess it would depend what kind
[39:45] Speaker 1: of be, because there's of course the queen bee, who's
[39:47] Speaker 1: the top head honcho.
[39:48] Speaker 2: Would you like that the worker bees connected to the worker? No?
[39:54] Speaker 1: I just kind of I want some worker bees.
[39:56] Speaker 3: Oh you lies?
[39:57] Speaker 6: What's what?
[39:57] Speaker 2: What's what's grazy? What's grazy? I don't no pressure, I
[40:01] Speaker 2: have one.
[40:03] Speaker 1: I was gonna say, really well, because you're a gazelle.
[40:07] Speaker 1: It's that weird that we both said it. What does
[40:10] Speaker 1: that elegant one that is inspiring to the other grassland
[40:17] Speaker 1: animals to leap higher, faster, stronger, earthy?
[40:20] Speaker 2: But but can thank you?
[40:23] Speaker 3: That's very nice.
[40:23] Speaker 1: One who the lions are trying to get, but they're
[40:28] Speaker 1: often not quick enough because they're thinking one step ahead
[40:31] Speaker 1: of these lions. Famously, gazelle is absolutely never got attacked
[40:35] Speaker 1: by lions. It just doesn't happen because there's so much smarter.
[40:38] Speaker 3: It's like every dog is like them, getting their next.
[40:42] Speaker 1: Like the lions of the the.
[40:45] Speaker 3: We cannot give them that much, cannot be.
[40:50] Speaker 1: No their hyaenas their vultures, and we're not dead yet.
[40:57] Speaker 3: And we're not dead yet.
[40:59] Speaker 1: Look somewhere else, you freaks.
[41:01] Speaker 2: Yeah, whatever the thing about Taylor when she goes, I
[41:03] Speaker 2: have a very strong opinion that when you are young,
[41:05] Speaker 2: you just feel things more intensely. I'm like, that is tea.
[41:09] Speaker 3: Do you do you feel like you feel things less
[41:13] Speaker 3: as you yeah, yeah, totally really, yeah, because there's fewer
[41:18] Speaker 3: new feelings or why or because is it perspective and
[41:21] Speaker 3: like right sizing, I.
[41:22] Speaker 1: Think it's one third my lexapro dosage. I think it's
[41:26] Speaker 1: one third what you said, yeah, and I think it's
[41:29] Speaker 1: one third.
[41:32] Speaker 2: Memory loss.
[41:33] Speaker 3: Yeah, that's the dream recipe.
[41:35] Speaker 2: Honestly, just with the doctor ordered.
[41:37] Speaker 1: I didn't even think of memory loss because I forgot it.
[41:39] Speaker 3: I literally have that.
[41:42] Speaker 2: No you don't you guys.
[41:43] Speaker 1: Are you a stoner?
[41:44] Speaker 3: Of course? Okay, so maybe and I've I'm actually like
[41:47] Speaker 3: I'm right now in a in a period of like
[41:51] Speaker 3: compared to before times. Yes, basically no before times, because
[41:56] Speaker 3: there's a later.
[41:57] Speaker 2: On the album where you're like the weed from when
[41:58] Speaker 2: we were seventeen is like catching up to I'm.
[42:00] Speaker 3: Not butering it, but no, no, that's basically it.
[42:02] Speaker 2: So like what like what are you going to get?
[42:04] Speaker 3: The lyric that comes before that is my brain half
[42:08] Speaker 3: melted down?
[42:09] Speaker 1: So for well, don't weight on the street in New
[42:11] Speaker 1: York City.
[42:12] Speaker 3: Well, New York weed is just a nightmare.
[42:15] Speaker 1: It's evil.
[42:15] Speaker 3: I also have a feeling that unless you're like with
[42:18] Speaker 3: the exact right person in the exact right room, weed
[42:21] Speaker 3: in New York period, regardless of where you got. It
[42:24] Speaker 3: can also be like insidious, it's crazy, and I think
[42:27] Speaker 3: it's because I've been getting over stimulated recently in a
[42:30] Speaker 3: new way that I feel. And then I was like,
[42:32] Speaker 3: that's embarrassing, and that's my fault, that's no one's fault.
[42:35] Speaker 3: That's like I should just know myself now over stimulated.
[42:39] Speaker 2: Oh wait, don't.
[42:40] Speaker 1: Don't do that film acting towards us.
[42:45] Speaker 2: Oh my gosh. Sure, here's the thing.
[42:49] Speaker 1: I don't know a bigger stoner than that person over there,
[42:52] Speaker 1: Jared Frieder. And he smokes my weed and he's he
[42:54] Speaker 1: has laid down and he says, you're crazy.
[42:56] Speaker 3: Because it's so heavy.
[42:58] Speaker 2: I feel sad.
[42:59] Speaker 1: I go in there and I'm like and then I'm like,
[43:02] Speaker 1: I guess I'm just looking for some pre rolls. And
[43:04] Speaker 1: they're like, well, what do you want?
[43:05] Speaker 2: What do you have? And they're like, Oh, you're gonna
[43:09] Speaker 2: love this stuff.
[43:10] Speaker 3: Man.
[43:10] Speaker 1: I don't know why I'm talking like a monster truck driver.
[43:13] Speaker 1: But that's the scary place. Do you Inventura Bulevard? No,
[43:18] Speaker 1: there is one there, Yeah, and I live next door
[43:20] Speaker 1: to it.
[43:20] Speaker 3: Are you guys stoners at the moment?
[43:23] Speaker 2: Yeah?
[43:23] Speaker 3: I know, I know, but what is that?
[43:24] Speaker 4: Is that?
[43:24] Speaker 3: Because because there's the only daily, daily daily o'clock.
[43:29] Speaker 2: Uh No, I was going to yesterday last night and
[43:32] Speaker 2: I was like, I'm gonna I'm gonna not. Yeah, that
[43:34] Speaker 2: was totally fine. I got a raw dog it more.
[43:36] Speaker 3: Yes, I think. I think what I've been learning recently
[43:40] Speaker 3: is that there's it's for some reason right now, the
[43:44] Speaker 3: the it feels like a fifty to fifty chance of it,
[43:48] Speaker 3: like landing or really like sending me.
[43:52] Speaker 2: Well, when you say you get over stimulated, is that
[43:54] Speaker 2: when you're not stoned or when you're when you're sobra
[43:57] Speaker 2: that you're like, oh, I need it sobra.
[44:00] Speaker 3: I feel like this particular like month, there's just lots
[44:08] Speaker 3: to be engaged with. It's just like and it doesn't
[44:12] Speaker 3: even not in the I just it feels like I
[44:14] Speaker 3: want to be ready, and I think that I'm impaired.
[44:21] Speaker 5: When I'm impaired, I guess for me sometimes when I'm high,
[44:25] Speaker 5: but I think I'm kind of like I think what
[44:27] Speaker 5: I'm hig I'm actually high and I so it just
[44:31] Speaker 5: is a little bit iffy these days.
[44:32] Speaker 3: But but but then I have this fantasy like of
[44:36] Speaker 3: you know, like an evening that starts at four pm
[44:39] Speaker 3: and then the next day isn't no obligations? That would
[44:44] Speaker 3: be you know what I mean?
[44:44] Speaker 2: But I would be wonderful also living.
[44:48] Speaker 3: Not here anymore. You know.
[44:51] Speaker 2: I don't smoke at.
[44:52] Speaker 3: All in London. Yeah, And I think like if we
[44:57] Speaker 3: think New York, we'd a scary like I I don't know,
[45:00] Speaker 3: I don't know what's even going on, and I just
[45:02] Speaker 3: haven't engaged. And of course pop culture they're like, You're like,
[45:07] Speaker 3: it's right outside, have a drink. And then they're like
[45:09] Speaker 3: at dark outside, have a drink. You're like, WHOA.
[45:11] Speaker 1: So jealous of London because they're getting a Universal Studios what?
[45:16] Speaker 1: Oh yeah, congrats you love that stuff. Love Let's go
[45:19] Speaker 1: right now.
[45:21] Speaker 3: Play pure Haro, Universal did what was Your Last? Because
[45:29] Speaker 3: they also love seemingly love you even more than you
[45:33] Speaker 3: love that.
[45:34] Speaker 2: So I think London, No, London, we know, and we
[45:42] Speaker 2: love London.
[45:42] Speaker 1: I'm doing my Christmas show in London.
[45:44] Speaker 2: Oh my, go there.
[45:46] Speaker 3: When I played we played there, and I and I
[45:52] Speaker 3: got tattoos the day we played lots of I got
[45:54] Speaker 3: tattoos the day we played that. In you, I have
[45:57] Speaker 3: such a long list for you. Oh yeah, And also
[46:00] Speaker 3: and also you need to come.
[46:01] Speaker 1: I know, will you be around in November? Actually wait
[46:04] Speaker 1: November fifth, eighteenth? No, oh come on please, like you're
[46:11] Speaker 1: not around mama.
[46:12] Speaker 3: Oh wait November, yeah, what is it?
[46:16] Speaker 7: Oh?
[46:17] Speaker 1: Yeah, well, I think this is coming out after we've
[46:19] Speaker 1: announced the tour, so we can just say that's what
[46:20] Speaker 1: we're whispering.
[46:21] Speaker 3: About, rehearsals for tour. Maybe I'll quit the tour.
[46:25] Speaker 1: By the way, we just come to your show. We
[46:27] Speaker 1: spoke earlier about the crowd happenings. I also want to
[46:31] Speaker 1: say your performance was fucking great.
[46:33] Speaker 3: That was so generous of you to be there, and
[46:35] Speaker 3: I okay, recall.
[46:37] Speaker 1: Can we say what happened?
[46:38] Speaker 3: Yeah, I was gonna say bageler call, there was no
[46:41] Speaker 3: ticket for you.
[46:42] Speaker 1: I get there, I'm excited to see Gracie. I go hi,
[46:44] Speaker 1: I think I'm on the list.
[46:45] Speaker 3: And also, of course I wasn't on my fucking phone
[46:47] Speaker 3: till after the show, so of course check my phone
[46:52] Speaker 3: and Matt's like, hey, I'm outside.
[46:55] Speaker 2: No, I'm like I'm gontall, no, no, no.
[46:57] Speaker 1: So I ended up buying a ticket and me, Jared
[47:00] Speaker 1: and our friend were there, and it ended up exactly
[47:02] Speaker 1: what needed to happen.
[47:03] Speaker 3: I'm so sorry, Yeah he already ticket, thank you.
[47:07] Speaker 1: I was gonna be like I was going to be
[47:09] Speaker 1: at that seat kind of by myself. And then they
[47:10] Speaker 1: were like, oh, okay, well we just bought tickets. I
[47:12] Speaker 1: was like, I'm buying a ticket, went in the pit,
[47:14] Speaker 1: and I needed to be there so that you.
[47:16] Speaker 5: Could see the with all my friends.
[47:20] Speaker 3: I LA shows are very weird come well, I think
[47:25] Speaker 3: a couple of things. I think every tour in the
[47:27] Speaker 3: history of the world comes through LA, so I think
[47:30] Speaker 3: there's like a kind of.
[47:35] Speaker 1: They're just not that excited about live shows. I always
[47:39] Speaker 1: start with my tour there because I'm like, I don't
[47:42] Speaker 1: don't come here here later and then be like what
[47:44] Speaker 1: happened in my.
[47:45] Speaker 3: Worst I totally. I think also because I grew up there,
[47:49] Speaker 3: I always have a fondness, which helps make up for
[47:51] Speaker 3: the like anticipation of it being less like yeah, vibrant
[47:57] Speaker 3: sometimes in the crowd. But I also my my curiosity
[48:01] Speaker 3: for those who attend shows in LA is like why
[48:05] Speaker 3: not lean in because you're only enriching the experience. If
[48:10] Speaker 3: everyone's kind of like going nuts for for for anyone
[48:13] Speaker 3: else who's not me, not me, I'm just like, do
[48:17] Speaker 3: you know, like the the like, because touring is like
[48:19] Speaker 3: the least cynical, like most whole, like like going to
[48:25] Speaker 3: a show, seeing anything live, it's like you're spending money,
[48:28] Speaker 3: spending energy, You're gettingdressed up, you're making a plan with
[48:30] Speaker 3: friends probably or you're even braver are going alone and
[48:34] Speaker 3: it's like you're singing stranger.
[48:37] Speaker 1: My favorite experience. And I will say I've seen incredible
[48:39] Speaker 1: shows in La. Mostly they happen at the Greek.
[48:42] Speaker 3: I love the Greek the best. I love the Greek.
[48:44] Speaker 1: We had like a Greek era Jared and I have
[48:46] Speaker 1: you been to the Greek bo Like I've seeing a
[48:48] Speaker 1: show with the Oh really.
[48:50] Speaker 2: I don't think i've ever. I was my first La concert.
[48:53] Speaker 2: Maybe was going to be Oh no, was Lily Allen? Yeah?
[48:57] Speaker 2: Oh my god? Oh yeah that was in La. We
[49:01] Speaker 2: did the last year. I was gonna I was gonna
[49:04] Speaker 2: go with Pray one day. That would have been fun.
[49:09] Speaker 1: No Adam at them anyway.
[49:12] Speaker 3: Whatever.
[49:12] Speaker 1: We saw Maggie Rodgers at the Greek. We saw Casey
[49:14] Speaker 1: Musters at the Greek Moon. I've seen twice.
[49:17] Speaker 3: Yeah, Ima Image and Heap did che glove.
[49:23] Speaker 1: It was really cool. That might have been the first
[49:25] Speaker 1: concert we saw together Image and Heap honestly likes so
[49:27] Speaker 1: not to ship on l A shows because there are
[49:30] Speaker 1: so many yes, like special moments that happen.
[49:33] Speaker 3: Also, it's like I, I really I have such a
[49:34] Speaker 3: fondness and it is it's crazy to get to play
[49:38] Speaker 3: shows there period, because there are venues that I grew
[49:41] Speaker 3: up going to you, so I know them.
[49:43] Speaker 2: Well, you haven't done, have you? I want that. I
[49:48] Speaker 2: want that.
[49:51] Speaker 6: But she's saying, but touching feet interesting.
[49:56] Speaker 2: I was wanting to.
[49:57] Speaker 3: Ask that's our Easter eggs about every time, like to
[50:01] Speaker 3: see if they pick up on it.
[50:02] Speaker 1: So the readers are noting that they touched feet. It's
[50:06] Speaker 1: several different points during the episode. I feel like, what
[50:10] Speaker 1: we because we went there, and I feel like there's
[50:12] Speaker 1: an attitude amongst artists that like weekend one of Coachella
[50:15] Speaker 1: is bad and Weekend two of Coachella is good.
[50:17] Speaker 2: Is that a thing you can confirm that artists talk about.
[50:20] Speaker 3: I have heard that in the discourse. Yeah, just probably
[50:23] Speaker 3: exactly as much as you have. But I wonder if it's.
[50:27] Speaker 2: About the band breaking the seal.
[50:29] Speaker 3: And maybe or like I'm like, are there more? Like
[50:32] Speaker 3: I was gonna ask are there more activations weekend one.
[50:36] Speaker 3: There are like eye roll.
[50:37] Speaker 1: They are a plenty.
[50:39] Speaker 3: Yeah, I've been to i'n't been to Coachella in a
[50:41] Speaker 3: long time. I went in high school and it was
[50:44] Speaker 3: so fun. I and then this past summer, glaston Bray
[50:48] Speaker 3: was our first of the festival run and it has
[50:52] Speaker 3: ruined everything for me. I bet, have you done it? Guys?
[50:56] Speaker 3: It's the best. It's like, I can't even begin to
[50:58] Speaker 3: like I.
[50:59] Speaker 2: Think you k festivals. I mean, we only have one
[51:02] Speaker 2: data point, which was my mighty Hoopla. It's the gay one,
[51:07] Speaker 2: the queer one.
[51:08] Speaker 3: Incredible name.
[51:09] Speaker 2: It's so and it was where is that? That's like,
[51:12] Speaker 2: oh my god, it's it's on. It's oh, it's a
[51:16] Speaker 2: neighbor down, neighborhood down, neighborhood down, neighbors neighborhood, neghbor down.
[51:24] Speaker 2: I couldn't tell you. Wait, where are they going to
[51:27] Speaker 2: get Percy Pigs to the States? Let's let's let's you
[51:29] Speaker 2: love them so much, so much? I like them too, Okay,
[51:33] Speaker 2: well you don't care.
[51:35] Speaker 3: I think they're so common these days.
[51:38] Speaker 1: My love skills favorite candy. I'm like, this is the
[51:47] Speaker 1: question we ask every guest, what was the candy? That
[51:51] Speaker 1: what was the candy? Candy was for you?
[51:54] Speaker 3: What's my favorite candy at Reese's.
[51:55] Speaker 1: Pieces it's barely chalk it girl, girl a candy or else?
[52:04] Speaker 4: Well?
[52:05] Speaker 3: I ate, I ate a candy yesterday which was which
[52:08] Speaker 3: was a sour pickle belt? What? What the who is
[52:13] Speaker 3: she so good?
[52:14] Speaker 1: Way?
[52:14] Speaker 3: What's up with you guys in your personals?
[52:16] Speaker 1: Oh okay, she didn't want to talk about candy anymore.
[52:19] Speaker 3: No, I mean all day but.
[52:20] Speaker 1: No, for real, for real, But this is the thing.

[52:26] Speaker 1: Well, my personal is I'm happy because we're busy.

[52:53] Speaker 3: Wicked in SNL. I'm like, how the hell? And that?
[52:56] Speaker 3: Like I just think sometimes it was.
[52:59] Speaker 1: It was a hell hell for sure. Now in retrospect,
[53:02] Speaker 1: I think we're happy that Wicked.
[53:04] Speaker 2: Is out there and that you're in it.
[53:05] Speaker 1: Oh but during this yeah, you had to do it.
[53:09] Speaker 2: I had There was no way I wasn't going to do.

[1:03:50] Speaker 3: No, no, no, just more well yes, of the brav
[1:03:53] Speaker 3: overse like I feel I would feel like a bit
[1:03:56] Speaker 3: of a fraud. I think being across from him and
[1:03:59] Speaker 3: speak on anything.
[1:04:00] Speaker 1: Sally feel was on there that I didn't know about Bravo.
[1:04:03] Speaker 1: But she Sally.
[1:04:03] Speaker 3: Feels she can do she can Well, that's your Sally
[1:04:06] Speaker 3: feel yourself. You don't even look at me like that, never,
[1:04:09] Speaker 3: never even like Sally Field look at me like Sally.
[1:04:14] Speaker 2: That's a real culture. Number eight doesn't look at me
[1:04:16] Speaker 2: like Sally. You said role model every night when he
[1:04:20] Speaker 2: opened for you.
[1:04:21] Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I do not like wa what's our
[1:04:23] Speaker 3: word for Gracie.
[1:04:25] Speaker 2: For you to drop dropping an interview? Give me anything,
[1:04:30] Speaker 2: I'm pissed. No wait wait ding dong ionic ding ding.
[1:04:35] Speaker 3: Happily Okay if ionic, it's crazy ionic, just describe some
[1:04:42] Speaker 3: that's like it's like they ask a question, like what's
[1:04:46] Speaker 3: it like writing a song? It's like there's this.
[1:04:47] Speaker 1: Ionica like like that you lean against. I wanted to describe.
[1:04:52] Speaker 1: I wanted to explore like a more ionic sound on
[1:04:55] Speaker 1: this album. And I buy it because.
[1:04:58] Speaker 3: People are going to be like, yeah, people would love that.
[1:05:01] Speaker 1: And then some people are gonna be like what the
[1:05:03] Speaker 1: fuck is she talking about? But you have to be
[1:05:05] Speaker 1: brave enough they block me traffic and that confusion they
[1:05:09] Speaker 1: block you.
[1:05:10] Speaker 2: Don't understand why anyone would.
[1:05:13] Speaker 3: What new music are you guys liking these days? Like yeah,
[1:05:16] Speaker 3: of course, do you guys listen to underscores?
[1:05:20] Speaker 2: Oh?
[1:05:20] Speaker 1: No, talk about this that's.
[1:05:22] Speaker 3: In the beginning of this just like yeah, isn't it beautiful?
[1:05:28] Speaker 2: Kind of this but it's kind of like fuck, I
[1:05:33] Speaker 2: love it. Oh, it's a gag?
[1:05:36] Speaker 1: Have you put this on a playlist to me? And
[1:05:39] Speaker 1: always does that?
[1:05:41] Speaker 2: Sobi Club you should you would love Stebe Club. It's
[1:05:44] Speaker 2: very like punk, but with this kind of.
[1:05:46] Speaker 3: Like okay, you're you're a Slater fan. I saw you
[1:05:48] Speaker 3: later and Tom Nish, Oh amazing.
[1:05:53] Speaker 2: I've been spending that album for weeks.
[1:05:57] Speaker 3: Some of my friends are deeply obsessed and in it,
[1:06:00] Speaker 3: and I need to kind of like spend more time.
[1:06:02] Speaker 2: There in the Tom world. Hot little Birds guy, you
[1:06:06] Speaker 2: know we love that right now.
[1:06:07] Speaker 1: I'm very kiss me.
[1:06:10] Speaker 3: I dropped every time the radio comes on and I
[1:06:16] Speaker 3: have to say, I follow me there.
[1:06:18] Speaker 1: I can't believe begged the second. I know she's a freak.
[1:06:23] Speaker 3: She's such a freak. Her voice never sounded better somehow. Yeah,
[1:06:27] Speaker 3: it's just the control.
[1:06:28] Speaker 1: I don't say the same thing for you, by the way,
[1:06:30] Speaker 1: and wait, can we just before we do? I don't
[1:06:32] Speaker 1: think so, honey, actually talk about your amazing work. I
[1:06:36] Speaker 1: just want to say, like we were listening to Jared
[1:06:39] Speaker 1: and I listened to it together hit the Wall. Can
[1:06:42] Speaker 1: you just talk about like finding all this bigness in
[1:06:47] Speaker 1: your sound, because you've always had big emotions and I
[1:06:50] Speaker 1: feel like this sounds sonically is even bigger and matching
[1:06:52] Speaker 1: those emotions. Now, if that is that something you strove
[1:06:54] Speaker 1: for you.
[1:06:55] Speaker 3: Well, I think it was just like being in the
[1:06:58] Speaker 3: whole thing was informed by having been on road for
[1:07:00] Speaker 3: the past few years, but like really diving into the
[1:07:03] Speaker 3: production process once it ended ended, and I think that
[1:07:08] Speaker 3: there was a lot of like more patients are like
[1:07:11] Speaker 3: space in this album actually, or it felt like it
[1:07:15] Speaker 3: matched my sort of internal rhythm being of road.
[1:07:18] Speaker 1: Off road, when you were off the.
[1:07:23] Speaker 3: Road when tor ended, and so I feel like there's
[1:07:27] Speaker 3: this kind of to me conversation in the album between
[1:07:31] Speaker 3: having space and then also when songs do want to build.
[1:07:33] Speaker 3: We were very intricate in the production of so many
[1:07:38] Speaker 3: vocal layers and where you know, I felt like the
[1:07:41] Speaker 3: story would benefit from that kind of impact, and it
[1:07:44] Speaker 3: was it was a real treat to make. I don't know,
[1:07:48] Speaker 3: we were it was all very thoughtful and Aaron and
[1:07:51] Speaker 3: I made this together again. This is our sixth year
[1:07:53] Speaker 3: working together. And I love him because he's not like
[1:07:58] Speaker 3: he sort of reminds me at least that you don't
[1:08:02] Speaker 3: need to make some radical change in order to like
[1:08:07] Speaker 3: have your next album be a valid step forward. And
[1:08:11] Speaker 3: you're kind of like artistry or just being a person.
[1:08:15] Speaker 3: It's like it can just accurately reflect where you're at.
[1:08:17] Speaker 3: And to me, this felt like it felt like the
[1:08:22] Speaker 3: most elevated version of all of the ways that we've
[1:08:24] Speaker 3: written and worked together in the past, Like there's his
[1:08:27] Speaker 3: gothic folky sounds that he's like mayor of Gothic folk town,
[1:08:32] Speaker 3: and like what if it's right and humming do things
[1:08:37] Speaker 3: like that, and then like good Reason feels like a
[1:08:38] Speaker 3: sister song to I Love You, I'm Sorry in ways
[1:08:41] Speaker 3: to me but like different, and then like look at
[1:08:45] Speaker 3: my life we wrote to a pulse, which we do
[1:08:47] Speaker 3: all the time, or like cold goodbyes we just did
[1:08:49] Speaker 3: one instrument in my vocal or like hit the wall
[1:08:52] Speaker 3: felt like I don't know, there's all these kind of
[1:08:56] Speaker 3: like trances that envelope us in the studio and this
[1:09:02] Speaker 3: was a real heavenly experience to do it. And I'm
[1:09:08] Speaker 3: grateful to him because I was having this like on
[1:09:12] Speaker 3: the tour toward the end, where everyone has been on
[1:09:17] Speaker 3: the bus and with each other and just like the
[1:09:20] Speaker 3: energy and the kind of like social like being on
[1:09:22] Speaker 3: and the where you're sort of like white knuckling in
[1:09:26] Speaker 3: a way that is full of gratitude but also like
[1:09:30] Speaker 3: survival mode a bit in order to get through. I
[1:09:33] Speaker 3: was just so my voice inside my head was like
[1:09:37] Speaker 3: not there anymore. Like I was so tired. I just
[1:09:39] Speaker 3: felt like absolutely gone. And Aaron's music with no words
[1:09:45] Speaker 3: and no vocal nothing like always sort of like presses
[1:09:49] Speaker 3: some button in me that like allows me to remember
[1:09:53] Speaker 3: what I feel and remember my perspective and hear myself again.
[1:09:58] Speaker 3: So this album was a surprise to me and.
[1:10:01] Speaker 1: Really interesting, like he's creates like escape for you to
[1:10:05] Speaker 1: then like inhabit.
[1:10:07] Speaker 3: Yeah, like hear yourself again.
[1:10:08] Speaker 2: That's really cool, bless.
[1:10:10] Speaker 1: I was thinking while I was listening to it that
[1:10:12] Speaker 1: it's made for a live experience too, Like Daughter from
[1:10:15] Speaker 1: Hell is just going to be such a communal.
[1:10:17] Speaker 2: Moment for everyone there.
[1:10:18] Speaker 1: I feel, I you do you do have them wanting
[1:10:21] Speaker 1: that experience, Well.
[1:10:23] Speaker 3: They're really bringing it. I get to just hang out
[1:10:26] Speaker 3: and watch them have good time. It's really nice. But
[1:10:28] Speaker 3: that song in particular, we wrote with this particular show
[1:10:34] Speaker 3: in mind, not this album, but we were thinking about
[1:10:37] Speaker 3: a specific like festival experience, and that's on this amazing
[1:10:42] Speaker 3: baritone guitar, and it's just playing that. We've been in
[1:10:45] Speaker 3: rehearsals this past week for lots of things and playing
[1:10:48] Speaker 3: that live so good. Yeah, and like it's interesting, it's
[1:10:52] Speaker 3: so fun how quickly like already playing these songs of
[1:10:55] Speaker 3: the band. I'm like, my favorite song is shifting around
[1:10:59] Speaker 3: always and so I think, you know, just shout.
[1:11:01] Speaker 1: Out where you at today? A favorite song wise, I think.
[1:11:04] Speaker 3: The Knife for I love thee That song gets me. Fuck,
[1:11:09] Speaker 3: it's so good live, like it's such a band song. Yes,
[1:11:13] Speaker 3: and they're all just such brilliant players. So everyone who
[1:11:16] Speaker 3: worked on this album I'm addicted to and I admire
[1:11:20] Speaker 3: so much. So it was a joy.
[1:11:23] Speaker 2: It's truly well, thank you for sharing all that.
[1:11:25] Speaker 3: That's so profan for listening and letting me talk.
[1:11:27] Speaker 2: You didn't say ionic, so yeah, you just have to
[1:11:31] Speaker 2: say ionic.
[1:11:32] Speaker 3: Well maybe like two point seven will be like that,
[1:11:36] Speaker 3: just the ion.
[1:11:37] Speaker 2: It the force.
[1:11:39] Speaker 1: What Honestly, if an reviewer one day says, so talk
[1:11:43] Speaker 1: about the ionic nature of this album, know that we
[1:11:46] Speaker 1: sent them.
[1:11:46] Speaker 3: There, I'll say ding dong yeah.
[1:11:49] Speaker 1: And they'll come in with a million dollars. It's a
[1:11:51] Speaker 1: mister beasts challenge. Anyways, With that in mind, it is
[1:11:54] Speaker 1: time for I don't think so honey, And really what
[1:11:58] Speaker 1: it is is it's a one minute segment on this
[1:12:00] Speaker 1: podcast where sort of cathartically tear down something in culture
[1:12:05] Speaker 1: that's been giving us some troubles. I'm finally speaking truth
[1:12:09] Speaker 1: about something on this podcast.
[1:12:10] Speaker 2: Finally. Yeah, this is Matt Rogers. I don't think so,
[1:12:13] Speaker 2: Whny his time starts now.
[1:12:14] Speaker 1: I don't think so, honey. Sunglass shopping, when you have
[1:12:16] Speaker 1: a long head and a bridge of your nose, that
[1:12:19] Speaker 1: is what a little crooked. It's especially complicated by the
[1:12:23] Speaker 1: fact that I'm colorblind. I go in to a sunglass store, shop, stand,
[1:12:27] Speaker 1: whatever it is, any of those s locations, and I
[1:12:30] Speaker 1: am met with strife another s because basically I can't
[1:12:36] Speaker 1: cannot find a pair of sunglasses that fit my face.
[1:12:40] Speaker 1: I am gonna need them custom made. I put them on.
[1:12:43] Speaker 1: It's a little bit askew. I would rather they be
[1:12:46] Speaker 1: full ascue, because then it could be a statement. This
[1:12:49] Speaker 1: is just nothing. It's just a little bit wrong. I
[1:12:52] Speaker 1: already had the nose job, yep, So now what non elective? Medically,
[1:12:58] Speaker 1: I medically needed to have fifteen seconds, but they wouldn't
[1:13:01] Speaker 1: let me use my insurance to cover it because they
[1:13:04] Speaker 1: said it was elective. But I say, if you saw
[1:13:06] Speaker 1: the cyst in my nose at the time, you would know.
[1:13:09] Speaker 1: I couldn't have lived with it. No, I don't know
[1:13:11] Speaker 1: how we got there, but I don't think so, honey,
[1:13:12] Speaker 1: sunglass shopping and that's one minute.
[1:13:15] Speaker 3: Okay, where was the cyst? Honey?
[1:13:19] Speaker 1: Right there, I'll show you breathe so get this. It
[1:13:24] Speaker 1: didn't affect my breathing at all. It just like it
[1:13:27] Speaker 1: was just like an in.
[1:13:28] Speaker 3: Doctors are like it's elected.
[1:13:30] Speaker 1: No, no, no, no. Was my boyfriend at the time
[1:13:33] Speaker 1: I had this cyst? Was that a medical necessity.
[1:13:37] Speaker 2: Because it smelled, didn't it?
[1:13:38] Speaker 1: Everyone stop? This is my foot and my nose are
[1:13:43] Speaker 1: my things.
[1:13:44] Speaker 2: Everyone stop, this is my thing with sunglass shopping. Oh,
[1:13:48] Speaker 2: I put on sunglasses. I go to the mirror to
[1:13:50] Speaker 2: see myself. I can't see a damn thing in the
[1:13:52] Speaker 2: exactly dark.
[1:13:53] Speaker 1: All of a sudden, that's a real culture dark number thirty.
[1:13:56] Speaker 2: I put on sunglasses.
[1:13:57] Speaker 1: It's also dark.
[1:13:58] Speaker 2: All of a sudden, you can't see.
[1:14:00] Speaker 3: You have an amazing nose.
[1:14:01] Speaker 1: Thank you for saying that.
[1:14:02] Speaker 3: What do you mean crooked?
[1:14:03] Speaker 1: Where you'll see if you if you really look, it's
[1:14:06] Speaker 1: a little bit the bone here.
[1:14:08] Speaker 3: I can't see, but I trust you, of course, have
[1:14:13] Speaker 3: a I also have a sunglass problem. Let me see
[1:14:18] Speaker 3: absolutely straight.
[1:14:19] Speaker 1: See this is why I own these though.
[1:14:22] Speaker 3: Did you get them fixed for you?
[1:14:24] Speaker 4: No?
[1:14:24] Speaker 1: No, no, this was a.
[1:14:27] Speaker 3: Look at that.
[1:14:32] Speaker 1: Look at them very asy wow. Out of the whole
[1:14:34] Speaker 1: wicked soundtrack, I chose like could have been I'm gonna
[1:14:43] Speaker 1: be gld coated during your I don't think so, honey. Okay,
[1:14:45] Speaker 1: so this is I don't think so, honey. Do you
[1:14:48] Speaker 1: have a topic on today? This is Bow's. I don't
[1:14:52] Speaker 1: think so, honey. I always go to the wrong thing.
[1:14:55] Speaker 1: That's right time his time starts now.
[1:14:57] Speaker 2: I don't think so, honey. Reading taking such a long time.
[1:15:01] Speaker 2: I want to read every damn book in the world, basically,
[1:15:05] Speaker 2: but it takes a minute. It do take time results
[1:15:10] Speaker 2: in time. I wish I could read a book in
[1:15:13] Speaker 2: merely five minutes, but no, I think I am on
[1:15:17] Speaker 2: page fifty seven and I'm gonna be on this page
[1:15:19] Speaker 2: for the next six months. And that's what sucks about reading.
[1:15:24] Speaker 2: A lot of great things about reading, but the worst,
[1:15:26] Speaker 2: shittiest thing about reading is how you have to basically
[1:15:30] Speaker 2: sit or stand and be visually uninteresting as this thing
[1:15:36] Speaker 2: that has to ferment in your brain takes hold. I
[1:15:39] Speaker 2: wish it were faster. There's no real substitute for actual reading.
[1:15:44] Speaker 2: And I think we would be a much better society
[1:15:46] Speaker 2: if we had, if our eyes moved faster, if we
[1:15:48] Speaker 2: could read words on top of each other, stacked on
[1:15:50] Speaker 2: top of each other. But there's just no way around it.
[1:15:52] Speaker 1: Five seconds.
[1:15:52] Speaker 2: It's linear, and I wish it were radio.
[1:15:56] Speaker 1: And that's so what book is giving you. Try.
[1:16:01] Speaker 3: Yeah, I was gonna say, I stop it.
[1:16:03] Speaker 2: Middle March. Oh wow, I want to have a Middle
[1:16:06] Speaker 2: March summer. I always try to have a Middle March summer.
[1:16:08] Speaker 2: It doesn't in fact, on speaking of a kid putting
[1:16:10] Speaker 2: it down, I keep putting it because it's a big,
[1:16:11] Speaker 2: big book.
[1:16:12] Speaker 3: And I had well that's what I was gonna say, like,
[1:16:13] Speaker 3: of course that would that would take.
[1:16:14] Speaker 2: Anyone time, would take anyone. But I had it on
[1:16:16] Speaker 2: the set of Wicked.
[1:16:17] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[1:16:17] Speaker 2: And then Cynthia was like, what book is that. I
[1:16:19] Speaker 2: was like, it's Middle March by George Elliott and it's
[1:16:21] Speaker 2: actually a woman whatever this was her pseudonym. She goes,
[1:16:25] Speaker 2: I'll read that.
[1:16:27] Speaker 3: She read it. Yeah, I was gonna say it's gone,
[1:16:28] Speaker 3: and like, yeah, I'm gone.
[1:16:30] Speaker 2: Gone, gone gone. She read it in a week and
[1:16:33] Speaker 2: I was like, she does everything. I was like cynth
[1:16:38] Speaker 2: while I read the math.
[1:16:39] Speaker 3: On she is, like I was playing, She's like a
[1:16:42] Speaker 3: super human she is.
[1:16:43] Speaker 1: Have you seen Dracula?
[1:16:45] Speaker 3: I haven't.
[1:16:46] Speaker 1: I played twenty seven different ways.
[1:16:48] Speaker 3: Have you seen it?
[1:16:49] Speaker 1: No? No, because I do it, because I do. I
[1:16:52] Speaker 1: don't see it.
[1:16:53] Speaker 2: I don't see it. I am it.
[1:16:55] Speaker 3: Maybe it's I don't think so honey, Like, well, I
[1:16:58] Speaker 3: actually I can't.
[1:16:58] Speaker 1: Do you ever started to like this is it Irish
[1:17:03] Speaker 1: accent harder than hell?
[1:17:05] Speaker 3: Yeah, he's talking, He's talking all sorts.
[1:17:10] Speaker 1: Of are you ready for your I don't think so, honey,
[1:17:13] Speaker 1: I think so yeah, Okay, I have I Do you
[1:17:16] Speaker 1: keep like a bunch of them in your head or
[1:17:18] Speaker 1: do you have one?
[1:17:19] Speaker 3: What was concerning me is that I I which I
[1:17:21] Speaker 3: think is also like maybe maybe pleasant. But then I
[1:17:24] Speaker 3: was thinking about the two of you.
[1:17:25] Speaker 2: I was like, I don't don't don't think about us.
[1:17:31] Speaker 3: I was like thinking. I was like, and I even
[1:17:33] Speaker 3: as I as I because I'm even in this moment,
[1:17:36] Speaker 3: I'm like, there's a couple that I could go with, and.
[1:17:40] Speaker 1: I'm heart come out. This is Gracie Abrams. I don't
[1:17:46] Speaker 1: think so, honey, your time starts now.
[1:17:48] Speaker 3: Okay, I don't think so, honey. Travel Etiquette Edition with
[1:17:52] Speaker 3: love and understanding that everyone operates in their own individual way.
[1:17:56] Speaker 3: My personal hope and dream is that in public spaces
[1:17:59] Speaker 3: like not to go back to the feet please, But
[1:18:03] Speaker 3: I feel it's fascinating the impulse when we're on a
[1:18:06] Speaker 3: plane thirty thousand feet up in the air in a
[1:18:08] Speaker 3: metal tube, that we're taking our socks all the way off.
[1:18:11] Speaker 3: That fascinates me. I have also recently been on a
[1:18:13] Speaker 3: flight where people were clipping their nails on the flight.
[1:18:16] Speaker 3: Flight attendants are angels in the sky. Forget everyone you're
[1:18:21] Speaker 3: sitting next to. You're making everyone un comfortable. They are
[1:18:24] Speaker 3: seeing that and that's their space. So I would just
[1:18:26] Speaker 3: say please. Another thing is when you're going through TSA,
[1:18:32] Speaker 3: you have to put the tray back in the thing
[1:18:34] Speaker 3: or you're a bad person. And then you feel performative
[1:18:37] Speaker 3: beyond when you put everyone else's not a nice feeling.
[1:18:42] Speaker 3: And then my last live too are oh shit, okay,
[1:18:45] Speaker 3: the mouth of the mouth of the of the of
[1:18:47] Speaker 3: the of the machine. When you're the bags are coming out,
[1:18:50] Speaker 3: we bum rush. If everyone took a step back, we'd
[1:18:53] Speaker 3: have air to breathe, and we have room to see,
[1:18:56] Speaker 3: and we'd almost have room to stretch post flight. And
[1:18:58] Speaker 3: I just think these are things to maybe consider, and
[1:19:02] Speaker 3: I'll leave it there.
[1:19:03] Speaker 1: I don't think so Honey has been in one minute.
[1:19:06] Speaker 1: And do you know what the other thing was? Because
[1:19:09] Speaker 1: you said there were two things that you decided to
[1:19:10] Speaker 1: leave it there, but there's something else.
