[0:13] Speaker 1: There's a couple items of business to get to before
[0:16] Speaker 1: we bring in our iconic guest. One Fraser is here
[0:21] Speaker 1: watching Hey d he's here. This is his first episode
[0:26] Speaker 1: of Lost Culture as a spectator because his favorite human
[0:29] Speaker 1: being is in the room.
[0:30] Speaker 2: Huge it happens to be the guest, actually.
[0:33] Speaker 1: Actually happens, And I'm s o l with my own man.
[0:38] Speaker 1: I don't stand a chance against our guests. But that's fine,
[0:41] Speaker 1: that's fine. Pick her too. Other orders of business. You
[0:45] Speaker 1: can watch or stream the Lost Culturica's Culture wheres tonight
[0:50] Speaker 1: tonight as of this episode airing, our other thing is airing.
[0:56] Speaker 1: And uh oh wow, I'm really gosh, I have been.
[1:00] Speaker 2: More Socisted's going on with your body? Why do you
[1:02] Speaker 2: touch my chest like this? I always get worried. The
[1:05] Speaker 2: veil is really thin right now? I really like, genuinely
[1:09] Speaker 2: starstruck and nervous around our guests recently. Today is really
[1:13] Speaker 2: no exception.
[1:14] Speaker 1: Can I say? We f Fraser and I have been
[1:17] Speaker 1: preparing for the episode, and I said so. He says,
[1:20] Speaker 1: the MINDI Project is my favorite show. I play it
[1:24] Speaker 1: on repeat all the time. He says he's watched the
[1:26] Speaker 1: entire series at least five or six times. It's at
[1:29] Speaker 1: least it's it's, it's it is.
[1:30] Speaker 2: It has the patina of like a Cheers now where
[1:32] Speaker 2: it's like, oh, that's your comfort.
[1:34] Speaker 1: Wise, so we watched the episode where Casey Wilson focks
[1:36] Speaker 1: like Barenholts. Really good stuffs happening. I just love when
[1:40] Speaker 1: good people get together and pretend to fuck on television.
[1:44] Speaker 1: And that's a real culture number eight. I just love
[1:47] Speaker 1: when good people get together and pretend to fuck on television.
[1:51] Speaker 1: And so that was a wonderful and joyous time sort
[1:55] Speaker 1: of reconnecting with that show. And guess what, there's a
[1:57] Speaker 1: brand new one out not suitable for work. For work,
[2:00] Speaker 1: you can stream most of it right now, and the
[2:03] Speaker 1: last two episodes are going to come out next week
[2:05] Speaker 1: because today is June seventeenth, the day of the Cultural Awards.
[2:08] Speaker 1: Lots to stream out.
[2:09] Speaker 2: Lots for your stream out there running point.
[2:13] Speaker 1: Oh, by the way, these are all stuff that our
[2:16] Speaker 1: guest has created. It's a goddamn bona fide mogul to
[2:20] Speaker 1: say nothing of never have I ever sex lives of
[2:22] Speaker 1: college girls. Our guest is famously Kelly Kappor from the office,
[2:27] Speaker 1: and just let's have a Let's just have a moment
[2:30] Speaker 1: for that.
[2:31] Speaker 2: Let's have a moment for that, and let's have a
[2:32] Speaker 2: moment to welcome. Hey.
[2:37] Speaker 3: That was the best two and a half minutes of
[2:39] Speaker 3: my movie.
[2:40] Speaker 1: And it was two and a half minutes. I think
[2:42] Speaker 1: we didn't even really get out of that.
[2:44] Speaker 3: It was I'm so touched why and mostly because freezers here.
[2:50] Speaker 1: Okay, I was pretty sure you would know who he was.
[2:53] Speaker 3: Yes, well, and we were talking about him because my
[2:56] Speaker 3: whole writer's aroom, both of my writer's rooms were so
[2:58] Speaker 3: excited and jealous that I was coming here today, and
[3:01] Speaker 3: we were we were looking Okay, can I talk about
[3:06] Speaker 3: the photos of you guys.
[3:08] Speaker 1: That's not a spoiler. People know that we were on
[3:10] Speaker 1: a carpet together, the Marshall's Blue Carpet, Is it okay.
[3:13] Speaker 3: Because it doesn't come out till later.
[3:14] Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, the photo.
[3:18] Speaker 3: So we were talking about the photos of you guys
[3:21] Speaker 3: on the red carpet and what a handsome couple you are.
[3:24] Speaker 3: And then some of the writer's younger gen Z females,
[3:26] Speaker 3: as I'm sure are obsessed with him and his physique especially,
[3:32] Speaker 3: and then love talking about the show. And then so
[3:34] Speaker 3: I'm I'm really honored that you love because the Minti
[3:37] Speaker 3: Project is like kind of a deep cut.
[3:39] Speaker 1: You think, I think I know, but I.
[3:42] Speaker 3: Think that it's sort of you know, it was never
[3:44] Speaker 3: like a big hit when it came out or anything,
[3:45] Speaker 3: but the people who liked it liked it and they
[3:48] Speaker 3: sometimes turn up, so thank you.
[3:49] Speaker 1: Thank you kind of what you want though, you of course,
[3:52] Speaker 1: everyone wants everything to be huge, but ultimately what you
[3:55] Speaker 1: want is for people that get it to really get
[3:57] Speaker 1: it and it's like truly important to them.
[4:00] Speaker 3: Well, I have a theory that you have to be
[4:02] Speaker 3: somebody's favorite. Yeah, It's like, even if that's a small group,
[4:07] Speaker 3: you have to be somebody's favorite. And there's I think
[4:09] Speaker 3: a lot of celebrities out there who were like kind
[4:11] Speaker 3: of famous. But if you had to ask anyone like
[4:13] Speaker 3: is this person someone's actual favorite?
[4:15] Speaker 1: Is They're not?
[4:17] Speaker 3: But like I would say that, Like, the one thing
[4:19] Speaker 3: I'll say is I do think for some people that
[4:21] Speaker 3: show is somebody's favorite. And so and now I have really.
[4:25] Speaker 1: Writing the seven seas streaming the Mindy Project.
[4:28] Speaker 3: I'm telling you, killing all the people in all the
[4:29] Speaker 3: ports he goes.
[4:31] Speaker 1: Have you heard the show mindy project?
[4:35] Speaker 3: I can't an insane Indian woman and Baron Holts try
[4:39] Speaker 3: to have sex in New York City, try to try
[4:44] Speaker 3: to connect.
[4:46] Speaker 1: I also want to tell you and you hold a
[4:48] Speaker 1: special place in our heart because of the First Cultural
[4:51] Speaker 1: Cultural Awards. We obviously did our opening number, and then
[4:56] Speaker 1: every single time we watched it goes from us and
[4:58] Speaker 1: we threw over to you, and we were our first
[5:00] Speaker 1: presenter of the night, and we just we were watching
[5:03] Speaker 1: it together for the first time before it had come out,
[5:06] Speaker 1: and we were just like watching it to be the cut,
[5:08] Speaker 1: you know, and you came on the screen and it
[5:10] Speaker 1: just validated the whole thing and just made us feel
[5:14] Speaker 1: so happy that you would roll the dice on something
[5:18] Speaker 1: that was hard to explain, like it's an award show,
[5:20] Speaker 1: but it's a comedy special, etcetera. But you were so down.
[5:23] Speaker 3: Okay. I have a couple of reactions. One is thank
[5:25] Speaker 3: you for saying that, but I was so pissed being
[5:28] Speaker 3: backstage that I had to follow your dance number. No,
[5:32] Speaker 3: it was in your like that was such a beautiful
[5:35] Speaker 3: thing you said, and I'm sorry to answer it with anger.
[5:37] Speaker 3: But I was like, I have to come out after that.
[5:40] Speaker 3: I mean, it brought the house down, this dance number,
[5:43] Speaker 3: and then I had to come out and be like
[5:45] Speaker 3: wow in my dress, and so I'm very I'm very pleased.
[5:49] Speaker 3: I mean it was great. I don't know why I
[5:52] Speaker 3: wasn't invited this year. Oh I saw who did I
[5:57] Speaker 3: see on the carpet before you flip? Yes, that I mean,
[6:02] Speaker 3: and they looked amazing.
[6:03] Speaker 1: They really did.
[6:05] Speaker 3: There's is a really cool romance.
[6:07] Speaker 1: There's is a really cool and great love that's for
[6:10] Speaker 1: the culture number twelve, Rachelle and g flip. There is
[6:13] Speaker 1: a real and great love.
[6:14] Speaker 3: And uh Rachel Ziegler. Yeah, you know, so I saw
[6:19] Speaker 3: a lot of I was about to say contemporaries, but
[6:22] Speaker 3: I don't know that Rachel's sailor would be.
[6:24] Speaker 1: Like absolutely, I think she'd be honored to her.
[6:25] Speaker 3: You say, she's my great granddaughter in culture.
[6:29] Speaker 1: But I did see.
[6:30] Speaker 3: You know, when you get invited to be on the
[6:32] Speaker 3: first one and then you're looking for that invite, oh,
[6:35] Speaker 3: the second one.
[6:36] Speaker 1: Then why don't we just go ahead and call it
[6:37] Speaker 1: an eternal invite to the show.
[6:39] Speaker 2: Okay, thank you, We never turn you now away or
[6:42] Speaker 2: just just just it's in the mail. Okay, going forward,
[6:46] Speaker 2: here's my wish.
[6:48] Speaker 3: This is going to be a huge hit tonight, right
[6:49] Speaker 3: this the show is going to be amazing.
[6:51] Speaker 2: We hope knows.
[6:51] Speaker 3: I want next year for it to be such a
[6:53] Speaker 3: hit that next year everyone's like asking her publicas leading up,
[6:56] Speaker 3: like I got to get in there. I gotta get
[6:57] Speaker 3: in there. I really want to do it. And it's
[6:59] Speaker 3: very tight, like remember the Vanity Fair party. You're like,
[7:02] Speaker 3: am I going to get invited this year? Sometimes they
[7:04] Speaker 3: make it really small. I want it to be very tight,
[7:06] Speaker 3: and I want to be one of the very small,
[7:09] Speaker 3: exclusive few who gets to present.
[7:11] Speaker 1: Okay, got it noted? Which I'm not going to let
[7:14] Speaker 1: him speak anymore because before before was the damn mixed
[7:17] Speaker 1: message invitation. Would you like to win? Ward?
[7:22] Speaker 3: Okay, I want to win, but I don't want it
[7:24] Speaker 3: to be rigged. So could it be.
[7:27] Speaker 1: To break something to you?
[7:29] Speaker 3: Okay, I didn't want this, Okay, Yeah, of course, of
[7:37] Speaker 3: course I'd like to win, but in a way where
[7:39] Speaker 3: it was like it's stacked against me and it's like
[7:42] Speaker 3: I can't believe it, Like it's like parasite winning.
[7:44] Speaker 1: You know, I want to want like a moment exactly, and.
[7:50] Speaker 3: I wanted to be like, oh my god, I want
[7:53] Speaker 3: it to be I want my competitors to be like,
[7:55] Speaker 3: we're not a rens V and.
[8:00] Speaker 1: Close take them all out of cross WINDA yes.
[8:03] Speaker 3: And like an extremely old person where you don't know
[8:06] Speaker 3: if they're going to be able to come back again.
[8:07] Speaker 3: So it's got to be them, you know. And then
[8:09] Speaker 3: they're like Mini Kaaling and I can go up and
[8:12] Speaker 3: be like this wasn't this should not be.
[8:14] Speaker 1: Me, and this podcast will just erase for a memory,
[8:17] Speaker 1: so this never happened.
[8:19] Speaker 3: So listen just I mean, you know how I feel.
[8:22] Speaker 1: Okay, now we do.
[8:23] Speaker 3: You got some friggin' A listers in here. You had
[8:25] Speaker 3: some frigin A listers in here with their hot takes.
[8:28] Speaker 1: Look we're talking to Did you see Nicole Kimman have
[8:32] Speaker 1: what I would call like a little bit of a
[8:33] Speaker 1: happy fit over my shirt with Loney Tunes on it?
[8:36] Speaker 3: It went viral?
[8:38] Speaker 1: Great, seems like you saw it.
[8:39] Speaker 3: Yeah, it went viral. But she's like she has another
[8:44] Speaker 3: I mean, I think you could agree, and I think
[8:45] Speaker 3: the appearance confirmed. Nicole has an other worldlyness and if
[8:50] Speaker 3: you're lucky, like it feels like if you're it'll a
[8:52] Speaker 3: couple of these like moments will appear.
[8:55] Speaker 2: She remembers every she remembers everything. And you know what,
[8:58] Speaker 2: someone said, this is a woman. Oh when we asked
[9:00] Speaker 2: her about like would you want to direct, she was
[9:02] Speaker 2: like no, I just love acting so much. And then
[9:04] Speaker 2: someone else, a friend, pointed out like this woman has
[9:06] Speaker 2: never had a side hustle and isn't that amazing? Yeah,
[9:09] Speaker 2: Like we can't say the same for us, Like this
[9:13] Speaker 2: is this is the side hustle. I'm sorry to say.
[9:17] Speaker 3: When your side hustle is Chanel Ambassador, that's.
[9:21] Speaker 1: Like a life. You're right, You're so right, right.
[9:25] Speaker 3: Like it's she's it's that was a great episode.
[9:28] Speaker 1: Thank you so much. I mean, the thing is, it
[9:31] Speaker 1: was it was odd to feel at the end like
[9:34] Speaker 1: I could go off for drinks with Sometimes sometimes people
[9:39] Speaker 1: come in and I'm like, that's my friend. Now we
[9:40] Speaker 1: never speak again.
[9:42] Speaker 3: But I find that so hard to believe because I
[9:44] Speaker 3: feel and you know, you guys are so busy. I've
[9:47] Speaker 3: only met you a handful of times.
[9:48] Speaker 1: One time at the Olympics.
[9:50] Speaker 3: One time in Milan, I walked right in that parking lot.
[9:53] Speaker 1: Yeah, we were upset. Actually in that parking lot.
[9:55] Speaker 2: We were dealing with the situation where one of the
[9:57] Speaker 2: people in our group left her credentials at the hotel.
[10:01] Speaker 2: Take it and we were like do we wait for her?
[10:03] Speaker 2: But we're going to miss the opening serace.
[10:05] Speaker 3: In that and because you know, that was the kind
[10:08] Speaker 3: of thing where they told my group like thirty times yeah,
[10:11] Speaker 3: and they checked the credentials in the bus and then
[10:13] Speaker 3: they who was it?
[10:15] Speaker 2: We can it was a universal talent, right, it was
[10:18] Speaker 2: not universal talent.
[10:19] Speaker 3: It wasn't It was Hyah Gerber, celeb Kaya Gerber.
[10:26] Speaker 1: I just know that she'll be able to shoulder this.
[10:29] Speaker 1: If we start a rumor about Kya Gerber, She's going
[10:31] Speaker 1: to be fine.
[10:32] Speaker 3: Leaving her credentials is like not the worst things for
[10:34] Speaker 3: Kayakerber to do, because like, come on, no, the.
[10:37] Speaker 2: Person who loved her, well, I'm it's she her, but
[10:41] Speaker 2: she been gendered but I think for her also like
[10:44] Speaker 2: she she's the she has a Kyah Gerber as quality
[10:47] Speaker 2: about her.
[10:48] Speaker 1: Well, what ended up happening was this this girl and
[10:50] Speaker 1: who was like a hot, incredibly attractive girl, was like,
[10:53] Speaker 1: oh I forgot my credentials. Fuck, maybe it won't be
[10:56] Speaker 1: a big deal. Guess what reader. It wasn't. It wasn't.
[10:59] Speaker 1: She breathed through was in the seat way before. Yeah,
[11:03] Speaker 1: I figured it out.
[11:04] Speaker 2: It's like, yes, you.
[11:05] Speaker 3: Did, confirming every bad feeling that we think of, like
[11:09] Speaker 3: that you don't need credentials if you're so hot, particularly
[11:11] Speaker 3: in Italy.
[11:12] Speaker 2: I'm sorry, and Milan like you're like, oh right, racist coming.
[11:19] Speaker 3: I didn't have my credential. They would have been like
[11:21] Speaker 3: you must have got back to.
[11:24] Speaker 1: Whatever.
[11:25] Speaker 3: Lonely, oh night, you cannot see opening ceremonies, a room service.
[11:33] Speaker 1: Lonely might be fron lonely, but we houd your Olympics
[11:39] Speaker 1: because we didn't. We barely saw it. We did not
[11:40] Speaker 1: see you.
[11:41] Speaker 3: You guys were working, Yeah you were. You were working
[11:44] Speaker 3: and bringing a lot of joy and I think explaining
[11:47] Speaker 3: what was going on.
[11:48] Speaker 1: In the best way we could, which, by the way,
[11:51] Speaker 1: by the end, we actually knew the rules to ice
[11:54] Speaker 1: dancing and we're self described fans.
[11:57] Speaker 2: Absolutely.
[11:57] Speaker 1: He was really into the curl.
[11:59] Speaker 2: I love the curling.
[12:00] Speaker 3: Yeah, you did a lot of different different events.
[12:03] Speaker 2: Speed's getting I sat out of hockey, of women's hockey.
[12:06] Speaker 1: He did sit out of women's hockey because you don't
[12:09] Speaker 1: think we should.
[12:11] Speaker 3: No, says Bowen, this is a man's.
[12:14] Speaker 2: Sportsport, and yeah, it's my anti lesbian sort of sentiment
[12:20] Speaker 2: coming out. But I really did not know. I am
[12:24] Speaker 2: sad that I missed it. Yeah, what did you go to?
[12:26] Speaker 3: I went, So this happens very rarely, but it's kind
[12:29] Speaker 3: of glamor and nice where Warner Brothers, who are my boss,
[12:33] Speaker 3: generously just said do you want to come with some
[12:35] Speaker 3: people to go? And so it was me and a
[12:39] Speaker 3: couple other Warner Brothers celebrities and they're like, can you
[12:41] Speaker 3: you just want to watch ice skating? And then we
[12:43] Speaker 3: shopped and then I left. It was all right, nice,
[12:46] Speaker 3: but I would say the opening ceremony, I don't know
[12:48] Speaker 3: if you felt this way, it was like very I
[12:54] Speaker 3: guess I don't. I guess I don't know that much
[12:56] Speaker 3: about like performances of like art and other countries. It
[12:59] Speaker 3: was so it was like Vegas Times of thousands.
[13:02] Speaker 1: It was so much about paint, you know what I mean.
[13:07] Speaker 1: I was like, yeah, like one of the big themes
[13:09] Speaker 1: was paint materially paint.
[13:11] Speaker 3: It was. It was not straightforward in the way that
[13:14] Speaker 3: I think in an American opening ceremony would be like
[13:17] Speaker 3: where it was like this means this, and this means this.
[13:20] Speaker 3: It was really like swirling colors and symbolistic stuff.
[13:25] Speaker 1: Do you remember the fleet of men helping Mariah to
[13:29] Speaker 1: and fro.
[13:30] Speaker 3: Oh my god not. I don't remember that until this moment.
[13:33] Speaker 3: That was amazing.
[13:34] Speaker 1: It was just like you saw, just like it had
[13:36] Speaker 1: to be like four or five people like bringing her
[13:39] Speaker 1: out to the center. She sang her song and then
[13:41] Speaker 1: they all came out and like all it was like
[13:44] Speaker 1: a team effort again.
[13:45] Speaker 2: Like it was really good.
[13:46] Speaker 3: It was gorgeous. The venue like I've never been in
[13:49] Speaker 3: something that many people me neither me neither and I
[13:53] Speaker 3: love Milan.
[13:54] Speaker 1: See. My gay guy self was like, I bet Taylor
[13:58] Speaker 1: did eras here, and we found out she did. She did?
[14:01] Speaker 3: She really?
[14:01] Speaker 1: Yeah, Wow, that was a Taylor Swift size stadium right there.
[14:05] Speaker 2: Have you've not been to. Well, the big thing about
[14:09] Speaker 2: European stadiums like that is there will be people on
[14:13] Speaker 2: the ground or in the aisles offering free water, and
[14:16] Speaker 2: you just don't get that here.
[14:18] Speaker 3: No, that was that did happen several times. That was
[14:21] Speaker 3: really nice.
[14:22] Speaker 1: They were all so kind. Yes, and well we felt
[14:25] Speaker 1: sad because we left before Charlie's.
[14:28] Speaker 3: I think I might have left. It was it was
[14:33] Speaker 3: three or four hours long. No, not that.
[14:35] Speaker 1: It was approximately sixteen hours steen hours.
[14:38] Speaker 3: Long of entertainment.
[14:39] Speaker 2: We left, Oh well we left after the flags. But
[14:42] Speaker 2: I was like by the time, like the guys came
[14:45] Speaker 2: out and it looked like salad on the floor, you
[14:48] Speaker 2: know what I mean.
[14:48] Speaker 1: It was a red, red, white, and green.
[14:50] Speaker 2: It was like, oh, you know, great italy. But then
[14:55] Speaker 2: it is, gosh, it's it's kind of all fuzzy.
[14:59] Speaker 1: Yeah, so you did see ice skating though, I did see. Yeah,
[15:02] Speaker 1: you had to see ice skating.
[15:03] Speaker 3: I mean that was that was amazing.
[15:05] Speaker 1: We saw the team win gold. Oh my god, that
[15:09] Speaker 1: was really cool.
[15:09] Speaker 3: That is that's huge? Did you That's I didn't see.
[15:13] Speaker 3: I don't think I saw the Americans win anything.
[15:16] Speaker 1: You know what's so funny. This is another connection we
[15:18] Speaker 1: have because you know who I was texting the whole
[15:20] Speaker 1: time was Chris Schliker.
[15:21] Speaker 3: I was literally gonna say. It made me really respect Chris.
[15:24] Speaker 1: Yes, so this is a mutual friend that we all have.
[15:27] Speaker 1: Chris has worked with Mindy and is a friend of ours,
[15:30] Speaker 1: and he was a professional figure.
[15:33] Speaker 3: Skater with his his little sister, Yeah, pairs pears and
[15:37] Speaker 3: he then is also a comedy writer. Yes, so he's
[15:40] Speaker 3: had a really fun he's like.
[15:42] Speaker 2: Just a chill life.
[15:45] Speaker 1: He should be nominated for the Michael Jordan Award for
[15:47] Speaker 1: I also do this an award at the Culture Awards.
[15:50] Speaker 3: And it made me because I know he had done it,
[15:52] Speaker 3: but that made me really understand how hard it was.
[15:55] Speaker 1: Yeah, and also.
[15:56] Speaker 3: The pairs thing is is tough because it's one of
[15:59] Speaker 3: them sometimes messes up and you can't be really mad
[16:03] Speaker 3: at them, right or if you are, you have to
[16:05] Speaker 3: really suppress that. So there's a lot of acting involved.
[16:07] Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[16:08] Speaker 2: Do you watch the documentary on Netflix? No, the Ice
[16:11] Speaker 2: Dance Pairs. Oh, it's phenomenal, three parts quick. I mean
[16:15] Speaker 2: it when when you know how it ends based on
[16:17] Speaker 2: how the metals shook out, Yeah, it's a little it's
[16:20] Speaker 2: a little disappointing.
[16:20] Speaker 3: Okay, I gotta watch it.
[16:22] Speaker 2: Yeah, because because there's like, because what the French pair,
[16:24] Speaker 2: the French pair, who are the villain? Like clearly the villains?
[16:26] Speaker 2: Like when the documentary paints a villain, Yes, French pair
[16:30] Speaker 2: is a villain, and there's like I could go ahead
[16:33] Speaker 2: and call him an evil gay guy with a huge ass, and.
[16:37] Speaker 1: They won gold and I'm telling you you can tell.
[16:39] Speaker 1: It's like when they hit the ice, it's like a
[16:41] Speaker 1: Blades of Glory character. It's like when Amy Poehler and
[16:44] Speaker 1: will are Net comes out and you're like, oh, well,
[16:45] Speaker 1: those are the villains. That was so how they appeared
[16:48] Speaker 1: on ice and then they did a routine to Madonna's
[16:51] Speaker 1: Vogue and it was just so incredible that you're like, yeah,
[16:55] Speaker 1: that mean guy. I hope when.
[16:57] Speaker 3: How did you know he was mean?
[17:00] Speaker 2: Well, so the story is he.
[17:06] Speaker 3: It was his face. Okay, I thought it was in
[17:08] Speaker 3: the documentary.
[17:08] Speaker 2: He said, it is in the documentary essentially. So, so
[17:13] Speaker 2: the new pair. The incredible thing is they had only
[17:17] Speaker 2: been skating together as a pair for like nine months,
[17:20] Speaker 2: when most pairs are you developed over the course of
[17:23] Speaker 2: many years. But it's because the woman was Canadian. Was
[17:28] Speaker 2: this kibequa woman who her partner has been disqualified from
[17:35] Speaker 2: the league because of an essay allegation and she kind
[17:39] Speaker 2: of stood by him, but he could no longer compete
[17:42] Speaker 2: and she was without a partner. He was without a
[17:45] Speaker 2: partner because he because his partner was like he is
[17:51] Speaker 2: a very toxic person and this dynamic was really bad
[17:54] Speaker 2: for him. This is so juicy and out of necessity
[17:59] Speaker 2: they go together under a year, went all the way
[18:03] Speaker 2: like disqualified for the Olympics, and then one gold.
[18:06] Speaker 3: Wow decidedly okay wow okay.
[18:09] Speaker 1: And by the way, this is like amidst like the
[18:13] Speaker 1: America's Sweetheart narrative that Madison Chalk and Evan Bates very
[18:17] Speaker 1: much had and we were all rooting for them and
[18:19] Speaker 1: then they just got stomped out by the mean French people.
[18:21] Speaker 3: Madison Chock has star power.
[18:23] Speaker 2: Oh oh, that's a good couple.
[18:25] Speaker 3: I don't remember him as well. But Madison Jock, she's
[18:28] Speaker 3: got that smile right.
[18:29] Speaker 1: She is always beaming, finding her light. It is so
[18:34] Speaker 1: it's it's a smile for God.
[18:36] Speaker 2: It's a smile for God. Yeah, a Christian God.
[18:39] Speaker 1: It's a smile for a Christian God.
[18:41] Speaker 2: She could it's a smile for especially number thirty Madison
[18:45] Speaker 2: Chalk smile.
[18:49] Speaker 3: It's really true. She could. She should sell She could
[18:52] Speaker 3: sell me anything. Yeah, Like if she was like had
[18:54] Speaker 3: a some kind of a.
[18:55] Speaker 1: Part of brand, where's nutre gina on her?
[18:58] Speaker 3: I know I would, I would buy it.
[19:00] Speaker 2: But the gag is that she was designing other people's outfits.
[19:03] Speaker 3: Yeah, then I did hear this right? So she she
[19:07] Speaker 3: was watching her competitors dance in her own clothes outfits.
[19:11] Speaker 2: Yes, yep, yes that is.
[19:12] Speaker 3: You know, ice skanning is real, interesting, absoluteist.
[19:17] Speaker 1: We left as like big fans.
[19:20] Speaker 2: Yeah it was fabulous.
[19:23] Speaker 1: We were like that. We were watching them hit the
[19:24] Speaker 1: ice when we're like, no, I'm not clean. And we
[19:27] Speaker 1: were watching with Adam Raupan.
[19:29] Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, he seems fun.
[19:30] Speaker 1: Oh the best.
[19:32] Speaker 3: That's nice.
[19:33] Speaker 2: A great time, A great time.
[19:34] Speaker 3: I like when people live up to because he does
[19:36] Speaker 3: seem cool.
[19:37] Speaker 2: Nice guy with a huge ass.
[19:39] Speaker 3: Nice guy with a huge out there. Yes, and you
[19:42] Speaker 3: could see them all up close and personal.
[19:44] Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, yeah.
[19:47] Speaker 2: I try to be polite. I don't look.
[19:50] Speaker 3: You don't look. Please, I say you look, but politeness
[19:54] Speaker 3: is not saying but you don't even look.
[19:56] Speaker 2: I don't even look. I get shoy, I get I
[19:58] Speaker 2: get eyeshy. You know. I just don't want it.
[20:01] Speaker 1: I don't want everyone's but whether they ice skating or not.
[20:04] Speaker 3: I think I do too. I just glance.
[20:06] Speaker 1: You just look.
[20:07] Speaker 3: You just got it. You just got a glance. I
[20:09] Speaker 3: look more now. Actually, after he did Rivalry.
[20:12] Speaker 1: Well, those were really good.
[20:13] Speaker 3: Those are really good.
[20:15] Speaker 1: Were you a big fan of the series.
[20:17] Speaker 3: I really liked it. I really liked the positions that
[20:21] Speaker 3: they did so that you could really see the butts. Yes,
[20:25] Speaker 3: you know what I mean, Like there was like they
[20:28] Speaker 3: would often be that one great actor I'm forgetting his name.
[20:32] Speaker 1: Is it Connor Story?
[20:33] Speaker 3: Yeah? Connor story one, Yes, And he was so funny
[20:37] Speaker 3: on us. And now with all the act he was
[20:39] Speaker 3: so talented, amazing, but his greatest talent is the way
[20:42] Speaker 3: that he could contort his body so that the cinematographer
[20:45] Speaker 3: could catch his buttah being always juicy, because even with
[20:49] Speaker 3: people with juicy butts, it doesn't always look juicy.
[20:52] Speaker 1: No, you need you need the help of cinematography on set.
[20:56] Speaker 3: I find one like his legs would be splayed in
[20:59] Speaker 3: the right ways all the time. It's really but how
[21:03] Speaker 3: to find the light?
[21:04] Speaker 2: Yeah, And speaking of the light, I was going to say, like,
[21:06] Speaker 2: what a beautiful convocation of the departments where it's like, oh,
[21:08] Speaker 2: the gaffer is really slang, you know what I mean, Like.
[21:11] Speaker 1: That ass is lit apart for those asses. Absolutely, And
[21:15] Speaker 1: you know, I think that Hudson felt the heat because
[21:17] Speaker 1: he was like, Okay, I gotta raise my game because
[21:20] Speaker 1: his ass can find the light this they're like first
[21:22] Speaker 1: scene where they like really have sex. There's a moment
[21:25] Speaker 1: where Hudson like starts crawling towards him, and the way
[21:30] Speaker 1: he turns like he's his leg. He's sort of like
[21:33] Speaker 1: getting you a little side.
[21:35] Speaker 2: But and it worked on me, and we we mean
[21:39] Speaker 2: cheating as in like tilting two camera. He was favoring
[21:45] Speaker 2: the camera and it worked on I think all of
[21:48] Speaker 2: the world and Conor story's incredible character Ilia Rosanoff.
[21:54] Speaker 1: Yeah, and I.
[21:54] Speaker 3: Should have led with that. They're great actors. He did,
[21:57] Speaker 3: And I like the story and the romance.
[21:59] Speaker 1: Well, they didn't lead with that. The first two episodes
[22:02] Speaker 1: were not about that.
[22:03] Speaker 3: Hey, I don't care about the sex and the show.
[22:06] Speaker 3: I just like the rumance. No, it's true. I just
[22:09] Speaker 3: you know, I don't know them in person, and I'm worried.
[22:11] Speaker 3: I'm always worried they're gonna be like, you didn't even
[22:13] Speaker 3: know my name. You call me accent guy unless cult,
[22:17] Speaker 3: but you see you said I was the accent guy
[22:20] Speaker 3: with the juicy button.
[22:21] Speaker 2: They need some humbling not humbling, but they would find
[22:24] Speaker 2: it refreshing that you would be like, oh my gosh,
[22:27] Speaker 2: you're that wonderful actor. They would love that because I
[22:30] Speaker 2: think now they now my algorithm is a lot of
[22:32] Speaker 2: people like zooming in on like sweatpant photos of them
[22:36] Speaker 2: and like they're.
[22:36] Speaker 3: Getting the treatment.
[22:38] Speaker 1: Yeah, they've reached that.
[22:39] Speaker 2: They've gotten They've gotten to that level. And I'm like,
[22:40] Speaker 2: that's great, happy for them, unless it's like unless it's
[22:44] Speaker 2: like not necessarily wanted. But who's to say. Who's to say?
[22:49] Speaker 1: They're pretty publicly like every time they pose for a camera,
[22:53] Speaker 1: it's sort of given, like want me, want me, want me.
[22:56] Speaker 2: Word.
[22:57] Speaker 3: As someone who's never been objectified, I under stand there
[23:00] Speaker 3: are people who don't like it, but it's very hard
[23:03] Speaker 3: to relate to.
[23:04] Speaker 2: I'm jealous.
[23:05] Speaker 3: I'm like, I would never I just would only. I
[23:07] Speaker 3: would only ever love for people to to be pushing
[23:10] Speaker 3: in on my chest, like to be taking a photo
[23:13] Speaker 3: and pushing in to see.
[23:14] Speaker 1: If you can.
[23:15] Speaker 3: I saw her nipples.
[23:18] Speaker 1: I'm going to show your perception. You went, you went, you,
[23:21] Speaker 1: you left and came back in. Fraser sat down and
[23:24] Speaker 1: he said, most beautiful woman I've ever seen?
[23:26] Speaker 3: Are you kidding?
[23:27] Speaker 1: Meal? What? He loves you? Who?
[23:31] Speaker 3: Who am I hotter than wait?
[23:33] Speaker 1: No?
[23:34] Speaker 3: No, I that's so that is really nice. Thank you guys,
[23:39] Speaker 3: it's a lot of work. Thank you. I appreciate it
[23:42] Speaker 3: for all of us, truly, I appreciate it.

[24:24] Speaker 1: naturally produce less collagen, and collagen has a lot of
[24:27] Speaker 1: benefits a lot. Collagen peptides are as simple well in

[25:25] Speaker 2: I thought you said it was proven by science.
[25:26] Speaker 1: I never said that. I just said it was good.
[25:29] Speaker 2: Mindy kating. What is the culture that made you say culture.
[25:31] Speaker 1: Is for me?
[25:33] Speaker 3: Okay? I think the culture that made me say that
[25:37] Speaker 3: culture is for me is award shows. And I'm not.
[25:40] Speaker 3: I guess I'm not.
[25:42] Speaker 1: We know you're not.
[25:43] Speaker 3: No, we know this is not synergistic. It's not a
[25:46] Speaker 3: cynical synergistic answer because of this, because of what's happening.
[25:49] Speaker 1: Thank you for knowing how much it helps us tonight
[25:52] Speaker 1: it to mention them.
[25:54] Speaker 3: I feel and I don't know if you guys felt
[25:56] Speaker 3: this way. That I grew up in suburban Boston, and
[26:00] Speaker 3: I think award shows for me, as someone who felt
[26:02] Speaker 3: like I had no access to Hollywood or anything, was
[26:05] Speaker 3: an amazing mix of competitiveness, couture and Hollywood and chowbiz,
[26:12] Speaker 3: and to me, those were all the things that I mean,
[26:15] Speaker 3: as like a competitive Asian nerd, like I love that
[26:18] Speaker 3: element of it too, like they can't just get up
[26:19] Speaker 3: and win an award, they have to fight each other.
[26:22] Speaker 3: And also, I don't know if you guys felt this way,
[26:24] Speaker 3: but I was so nerdy about award shows that I
[26:27] Speaker 3: was like, I'll remember so distinctly when al Pacino was
[26:30] Speaker 3: up for his Oscar for Son of a Woman. I
[26:32] Speaker 3: was probably like twelve years old, Yes, I was like ten.
[26:35] Speaker 3: I was ten or eleven years old, but I remember
[26:38] Speaker 3: so well, being like the lore of it, being like,
[26:41] Speaker 3: you know, like I was the kid that was walking
[26:43] Speaker 3: around being like, you know that he's been nominated for Godfather,
[26:47] Speaker 3: Godfather too, Surpaco and Dogged Afternoon and he's never won,
[26:50] Speaker 3: so this could be the time he won. And I
[26:52] Speaker 3: was like, I didn't haven't seen any of those movies,
[26:54] Speaker 3: but I knew the importance of like, this is a
[26:57] Speaker 3: story of a man who's been snubbed several times. He
[27:00] Speaker 3: is owed this And I'd just go around at school
[27:03] Speaker 3: telling people this information because I thought it was important.
[27:07] Speaker 3: So I think award shows and we'd all like get
[27:09] Speaker 3: together and watch them, you know. I think that was
[27:12] Speaker 3: really and like, I don't know if you guys felt
[27:14] Speaker 3: this way, Like the vibe of the Golden Globes was
[27:16] Speaker 3: so different than the Oscars, and you could wear cocktail
[27:19] Speaker 3: for the Golden Globes when you wouldn't dare wear that
[27:21] Speaker 3: to the Oscar. Yeah, and if you did, it was
[27:23] Speaker 3: because you were like b York or Sharon Stone and
[27:26] Speaker 3: was trying to like make a standment. So to me,
[27:28] Speaker 3: award shows are like was a huge part of like
[27:33] Speaker 3: when I decided culture was culture.
[27:34] Speaker 1: I had this feeling about you because this reminds me
[27:37] Speaker 1: of when I met you, because do you remember when
[27:39] Speaker 1: I met you at sun Dance? You were there with
[27:42] Speaker 1: Late Night. Oh my god, So I was covering the
[27:45] Speaker 1: festival for Vulture. We used to do that together, but
[27:47] Speaker 1: what had just booked ess to now? So I went
[27:49] Speaker 1: up to Sundance by myself and you came in for
[27:52] Speaker 1: Late Night, and I was asking everyone who's gonna win
[27:55] Speaker 1: the Best Actress Oscar this year? And I was saying,
[27:58] Speaker 1: is it going to be Glenn Close or Gaga? Glenn
[28:01] Speaker 1: Close for the wife and Lady Gaga first Star is born?
[28:04] Speaker 1: And you said it's going to be Olivia Coleman for
[28:06] Speaker 1: the favorite, and you were right, and you were the
[28:08] Speaker 1: only one who said publicly who they thought would win.
[28:13] Speaker 1: Naomi Watts almost left the room.
[28:15] Speaker 3: Wait, wait a second, I said.
[28:18] Speaker 1: That you've said Olivia Coleman.
[28:20] Speaker 3: By the way, you're Nicole Cadman with your memory.
[28:23] Speaker 1: That was my first incredible uh second of all.
[28:28] Speaker 3: I can't believe I said that you did, because sometimes
[28:30] Speaker 3: on red carpets, don't you just feel like you're like,
[28:32] Speaker 3: I'm just prattling on, like, let me just have takes
[28:35] Speaker 3: just to say stuff.
[28:36] Speaker 1: I never say anything. I'm behind things. Just I just
[28:40] Speaker 1: talked for two minutes and I don't know what.
[28:42] Speaker 3: I to the point where I feel like sometimes I'm like,
[28:44] Speaker 3: I want to test out this new thought. I don't
[28:47] Speaker 3: even feel it.
[28:48] Speaker 1: Maybe I think this.
[28:49] Speaker 3: Maybe I think this, I'm going to see how it
[28:50] Speaker 3: sounds in public and then do it. And it's you
[28:52] Speaker 3: should be thinking the opposite. You should be like, I
[28:55] Speaker 3: need to have a tried and true opinion here. Hey,
[28:58] Speaker 3: I'm really impressed you nail. Maybe I affected. Maybe that's what.
[29:03] Speaker 1: Why it happened. Whoa, I mean, definitely it was a
[29:06] Speaker 1: nail bier that you.
[29:07] Speaker 2: Were compelled to say that as an informed take. You're
[29:11] Speaker 2: someone who follows awards.
[29:13] Speaker 3: I mean it's so lusory to be someone who has
[29:16] Speaker 3: informed takes about award shows. But I am.
[29:19] Speaker 1: We were like, we were literally just saying today, one
[29:22] Speaker 1: of our answers to this question is the ninety for
[29:26] Speaker 1: the ninety seven films, because that was the one titan
[29:29] Speaker 1: huge year. It was.
[29:31] Speaker 2: It was my first Oscars and it was like, who's
[29:33] Speaker 2: this Billy Crystal guy. He's so funny, so funny? What
[29:36] Speaker 2: are all these baby packages with him in the movie, Like,
[29:38] Speaker 2: oh my god, look like it. It just and it
[29:41] Speaker 2: felt like this big snub when Helen Hunt won or
[29:44] Speaker 2: something to kids, because I was reading for Kate Win's like, yeah.
[29:46] Speaker 3: That was where like good will hunting was against Titanic, right.
[29:49] Speaker 1: It was goodwill hunting as good as it gets Titanic.
[29:53] Speaker 1: I believe that year was also La confidential. I'm like
[29:56] Speaker 1: Oh my god, Kim Basinger won her Oscar that year.
[29:59] Speaker 3: Oh my god.
[30:00] Speaker 1: Yeah, like award shows.
[30:02] Speaker 2: I've been saying this because we we just started dunking
[30:04] Speaker 2: today for the for the Cultural Awards. I was like, Oh,
[30:06] Speaker 2: it's like the beam refracted into all these different things
[30:09] Speaker 2: that I love now, which is like music, dance, live comedy,
[30:13] Speaker 2: live television, comedy like it.
[30:14] Speaker 1: It's just it has everything. It has.
[30:18] Speaker 2: The structure of a variety show, but it has the
[30:21] Speaker 2: arc of something where it like all builds up to
[30:24] Speaker 2: this thing where by the end of the night, like
[30:25] Speaker 2: people are either completely disappointed or so triumphant.
[30:28] Speaker 3: Well I think I think that's so correct, and especially
[30:32] Speaker 3: now Bowen were like, I mean the Wicked Press Tour, right,
[30:35] Speaker 3: you have these long of us. There's these arcs, as
[30:38] Speaker 3: you said, like there's these arcs of stories where you're
[30:41] Speaker 3: just like watching like like Cynthia and Ariana and like
[30:44] Speaker 3: this is what it was like then, and this is
[30:46] Speaker 3: this Caparelli thing they wore and miss held her finger
[30:48] Speaker 3: and now this is now she seems like maybe she's
[30:51] Speaker 3: fed up or someone tried to grab her and like
[30:53] Speaker 3: you know, like you know what I mean, Like and
[30:55] Speaker 3: everyone has different different arcs leading up to it, like
[30:59] Speaker 3: the tide turned so much as well. Yeah, so a
[31:02] Speaker 3: workshows are are? I feel like they're only becoming more
[31:05] Speaker 3: and more. This is what I can imagine real football
[31:09] Speaker 3: fans feel. The Super Bowl.
[31:10] Speaker 1: Yes, when we were there for Wicked, because I went
[31:14] Speaker 1: as Bowen state it fell. I felt physical pain.
[31:18] Speaker 3: When because it was such the.
[31:22] Speaker 2: The room, the room, really you've experienced this like in
[31:26] Speaker 2: those rooms what it shifts and it just and you're like, oh, whoa,
[31:30] Speaker 2: this is strange.
[31:31] Speaker 1: Yeah, because also you're very aware that someone has just
[31:34] Speaker 1: won an Oscar who obviously it's an incredible performance. But yes,
[31:38] Speaker 1: to know that there was that much happening in that
[31:42] Speaker 1: moment was so wild.
[31:44] Speaker 3: Yes, this is why I felt this about al Pacino.
[31:47] Speaker 3: He's got to win.
[31:48] Speaker 1: Yes, he's been overlooked luckily.
[31:51] Speaker 3: But you know what else about Demi Moore is that
[31:53] Speaker 3: she had given that speech, Hey, I'm a loser. I'm
[31:56] Speaker 3: a loser. I remember the speech she gave speech at
[32:00] Speaker 3: the Globes, which was incredible, one of the great acceptance speech.
[32:04] Speaker 1: I thought it was shown up for her and then
[32:08] Speaker 1: and then and then.
[32:09] Speaker 2: And then I was going to say, you know what
[32:11] Speaker 2: reading your first book inspired me WHOA because I was like.
[32:15] Speaker 3: Even WHOA, like just a nice I related a nice pivot.
[32:19] Speaker 1: He's a pro.
[32:20] Speaker 2: No, it's no, no, no, I love yang, he's a pro.
[32:26] Speaker 2: That was not a segue. That was a hard lurch
[32:28] Speaker 2: of a pivot.
[32:29] Speaker 3: I don't know. I loved it and shouldn't have said
[32:31] Speaker 3: whoa because I sled. I slowed this down your momentum time.
[32:34] Speaker 2: No no, no, no, no no, this is this is all
[32:35] Speaker 2: part of it.
[32:36] Speaker 3: Please.
[32:37] Speaker 1: I was expecting an answer.
[32:39] Speaker 2: To the question, uh, like in terms of maybe like
[32:43] Speaker 2: the Simpsons or SNL, where I related to you so
[32:45] Speaker 2: much When you were saying that you would, you would look,
[32:48] Speaker 2: you'd watch the credits of these shows and be like,
[32:50] Speaker 2: who are the writers?
[32:51] Speaker 3: Oh my god?
[32:52] Speaker 2: Yes, because this was something that like Matt and I
[32:54] Speaker 2: would do growing up where were like and it didn't
[32:57] Speaker 2: occur to us until later, until we were like earnestly
[33:01] Speaker 2: like aspiring to comedy jobs. Were like, oh yeah, I
[33:04] Speaker 2: guess that does. Like that does sort of like set
[33:06] Speaker 2: things apart for us where we're like, we've loved this
[33:09] Speaker 2: real long.
[33:09] Speaker 1: One day, I'm gonna meet Brian Tucker.
[33:11] Speaker 3: Literally at sleepovers, like your friends are moving on, They're
[33:15] Speaker 3: playing mash in another room sleepover, and I'm like, who
[33:18] Speaker 3: is Dennis McNicholas. I can't Maybe one day I'll.
[33:24] Speaker 2: Don't know.
[33:25] Speaker 3: I've never met Dennis Nicholas.
[33:27] Speaker 2: I love him.
[33:27] Speaker 1: I met Paula Pellet and I was like, I'm going up,
[33:30] Speaker 1: but it was hard.
[33:31] Speaker 3: I was like, she really lives up to it, right
[33:33] Speaker 3: because she's also a performer and she's so funny.
[33:35] Speaker 1: She's just the best.
[33:36] Speaker 3: Yeah, and she was like one of the only female
[33:39] Speaker 3: names you would see on.
[33:39] Speaker 2: Those Definitely totally And but I'm just gonna say like that,
[33:44] Speaker 2: like I love I feel like you're this is we're
[33:47] Speaker 2: kin folk because it's like you award shows, but also
[33:50] Speaker 2: this thing that imprinted on you very early on, which
[33:53] Speaker 2: is like comedy credits.
[33:55] Speaker 3: Yes, you know what I mean, Ken, i'mm is that
[33:57] Speaker 3: a mom?
[33:59] Speaker 2: Like?
[33:59] Speaker 3: I remember seeing his name because it was very It
[34:01] Speaker 3: was one of the first credits that you'd see when
[34:04] Speaker 3: the show was ending, and I was like, that guy,
[34:06] Speaker 3: what is his role?
[34:07] Speaker 2: He's he was the sort of control room producer like
[34:11] Speaker 2: stagement just made sure everyone came to blocking on time,
[34:14] Speaker 2: but like ran such a tight ship. Yeah, wow, people,
[34:17] Speaker 2: I don't know people. I love that man, Ken Kenny,
[34:21] Speaker 2: see I need to I have always been very curious
[34:23] Speaker 2: about your your your guest writing stent. Oh yeah, what
[34:26] Speaker 2: was like like talk about that?
[34:28] Speaker 3: It was so it was so intimidating. Yeah, it was.
[34:35] Speaker 3: People were it was. It was really intimidating. I learned
[34:39] Speaker 3: so much. Some people were extremely friendly and it was intense. Yeah,
[34:43] Speaker 3: Like I I got a glimpse of something that I thought, like,
[34:47] Speaker 3: you guys know now that la writing scene on a
[34:50] Speaker 3: sitcom is so different than writing on a variety show.
[34:54] Speaker 3: I didn't think that. I thought it would just be
[34:56] Speaker 3: like being on the writers being I thought it would
[34:59] Speaker 3: just be like being in the writers room for the office,
[35:01] Speaker 3: but more glamorous later hours. And it was it's a
[35:04] Speaker 3: completely different vibe. But it was, like I remember distinctly,
[35:10] Speaker 3: like Amy and Tina were so kind, Will Forte was
[35:13] Speaker 3: so game and so kind. The Lonely Island guys were
[35:16] Speaker 3: really nice. But it was also unmistakably and I think
[35:19] Speaker 3: I think you would say this like super competitive and
[35:24] Speaker 3: like there was like kind of like a little bit
[35:26] Speaker 3: more of a whisper culture than I thought a little
[35:29] Speaker 3: bit or like just like I but I It wasn't
[35:31] Speaker 3: like anyone was unfriendly to me. I just noticed it
[35:33] Speaker 3: was kind of anthropologically interesting to come and see it
[35:37] Speaker 3: the way the doors would close, doors closed, And I
[35:40] Speaker 3: mean I I could not and did not take anything
[35:43] Speaker 3: at all personally because I was just there for two
[35:45] Speaker 3: weeks and people were really nice about the office. And
[35:48] Speaker 3: that was before the Office was even I think considered
[35:50] Speaker 3: to be like a cool show. I think this was
[35:52] Speaker 3: in the hiatus between season two and three, but it wasn't.
[35:56] Speaker 3: It hadn't like fully become like a hit.
[35:58] Speaker 2: I think at that point, like like you were like
[36:01] Speaker 2: like like Kelly was like like like a main like.
[36:07] Speaker 1: One did that because Kelly was a different type of character.
[36:10] Speaker 1: The first season, Yes.
[36:12] Speaker 3: Right, Kelly was like is English her first language? Like
[36:15] Speaker 3: when you saw her, like is she like from another country?
[36:18] Speaker 3: Like the way she dressed Okay, but I felt like
[36:22] Speaker 3: she was just like like a kind of like like
[36:25] Speaker 3: she's she's like a woman from another country, Michael, like,
[36:29] Speaker 3: don't be like it was. She wasn't like pop culture Kelly.
[36:33] Speaker 3: But second season she was more. But I think at
[36:37] Speaker 3: that time, if I may say, I think people respected
[36:40] Speaker 3: the Office, but I don't think SNL was quite okay.
[36:42] Speaker 3: So I feel like people who like Kelly are like
[36:44] Speaker 3: a certain kind of woman and gay man. And I
[36:46] Speaker 3: don't think SNL was that gay.
[36:48] Speaker 1: Then James and.
[36:52] Speaker 2: Were holding it down.
[36:53] Speaker 3: Yeah so I think, but I think everyone like respected.
[36:56] Speaker 3: We had a lot of crossover. I think Mike Sure
[36:59] Speaker 3: had a lot of friends obviously still at SNL, and
[37:01] Speaker 3: he was I worked with him there, so that was
[37:03] Speaker 3: a nice name to drop when I would meet people.
[37:06] Speaker 2: Totally.
[37:06] Speaker 3: Yeah, but yeah, I mean I I was in awe
[37:11] Speaker 3: of it obviously, and but yeah, like you know.
[37:17] Speaker 2: But gosh, I mean, it's it's so interesting that like
[37:19] Speaker 2: the Office was able to sort of like this is
[37:22] Speaker 2: the wrong word for it, but like Bell weathered, like
[37:24] Speaker 2: the queer coded humor before a show like SNL. Could
[37:28] Speaker 2: you know what I mean? Or that's not fair to say,
[37:30] Speaker 2: but it's like I can recite here, here we go.
[37:33] Speaker 2: Here's a deep cut. You think you think the Mini
[37:35] Speaker 2: Project is a deep cut? Check this out. You don't
[37:38] Speaker 2: would turn my text you see him up? Oh, don't
[37:40] Speaker 2: get no text once you got a d D added up.
[37:43] Speaker 2: Don't equal you and me? Like Shakespeare said, to be
[37:46] Speaker 2: or not to be? Sometimes your roam meo with me.
[37:51] Speaker 1: I sometimes you roam MEO with me.
[37:55] Speaker 3: Wait, I am dying.
[37:58] Speaker 1: That wasn't even an office episode. That was a bonus online.
[38:00] Speaker 3: Video was when webisoites you're trying to figure out if
[38:05] Speaker 3: websites or now I am. I got to say, I'm
[38:08] Speaker 3: really happy that you think of that fondly, because the
[38:10] Speaker 3: next line is you look gay and you're skinny.
[38:15] Speaker 1: Killed in a drive.
[38:18] Speaker 3: It's not okay to say. Now.
[38:20] Speaker 1: You can't say comedy your back you're laughing.
[38:24] Speaker 3: That's all that matters, you know, you would say you look.
[38:30] Speaker 1: That's around the time when Katy Perry was like, you're
[38:32] Speaker 1: so gay, you don't even like, yeah, doesn't.
[38:40] Speaker 3: I feel so happy that somewhere, n y you not
[38:45] Speaker 3: even ny somewhere it's your, it's your. When you're a
[38:48] Speaker 3: freshman in high school, that you were like noticing dramaturgically
[38:52] Speaker 3: different things that we're going into subtle sexuality.
[38:55] Speaker 1: We would watch, like I just remember, we would. There
[38:58] Speaker 1: was the Beach Games episode. Out of the Office is
[39:00] Speaker 1: my favorite episode of TV maybe ever. Wow, Oh my god.
[39:05] Speaker 1: My high school friend and I would watch it again
[39:06] Speaker 1: and again and again, and I would just love a
[39:08] Speaker 1: good old fashion like Kelly one line like, yeah, I
[39:11] Speaker 1: have a question, how dare you so well? I'm pregnant?
[39:16] Speaker 1: Cut to her confessional.
[39:18] Speaker 3: You know, it's been nice. This has happened with you
[39:20] Speaker 3: guys a lot. I love being memed and those are
[39:24] Speaker 3: really it's really it makes me feel young to be
[39:28] Speaker 3: memed and like those lines, like being able to see
[39:30] Speaker 3: them because I don't know.
[39:33] Speaker 1: It's forever and the front runner for title of here
[39:39] Speaker 1: is now to be mean to me.
[39:42] Speaker 2: You know, I'm saying the office is forever.
[39:44] Speaker 1: That's you must be like feather in the cap that's
[39:48] Speaker 1: that is forever.
[39:49] Speaker 3: It does feel nice when because you never know, like
[39:53] Speaker 3: I've had some shows that work, some of that people
[39:55] Speaker 3: really don't like. But it's nice to be able to
[39:57] Speaker 3: look back at that one and be like, okay, I
[40:00] Speaker 3: because you know, when you write a bunch of episodes
[40:02] Speaker 3: like that and then you do a lot of shows
[40:04] Speaker 3: that are like The Sex Size with College Girls and
[40:06] Speaker 3: The MINDI Project, which is like totally so different and
[40:09] Speaker 3: a lot of men hate them, it's nice that they're like,
[40:15] Speaker 3: they're like, how did she work on them? You can
[40:17] Speaker 3: see them being loud, did she work in the office?
[40:19] Speaker 3: Because we like the office.
[40:21] Speaker 1: Shows so it's nice to be a multitude.
[40:25] Speaker 3: So it's nice that thank you for for saying that.
[40:28] Speaker 3: I like. I like what I like about you guys,
[40:30] Speaker 3: is you watch a lot of stuff? I do too?
[40:33] Speaker 1: What What's What's what's been your media diet?
[40:38] Speaker 3: I'm not a snob at all, and so I watch
[40:42] Speaker 3: everything from Fraser Show?
[40:45] Speaker 1: Do you watch below Deck?
[40:46] Speaker 3: Below Deck? Which I got into because of the young
[40:50] Speaker 3: writers on my show. I'm not really a big reality
[40:53] Speaker 3: show person. And then yet also like and but I'll
[40:58] Speaker 3: learn about them from like like I feel like I'll
[41:01] Speaker 3: see like page in Hannah.
[41:02] Speaker 1: I would want to share you go deep on Summerhouse.
[41:04] Speaker 1: I want Summer Summer House podcast.
[41:07] Speaker 3: Thank you. I gotta I don't know if I know
[41:08] Speaker 3: quite enough.
[41:09] Speaker 1: Yeah, but again, yet I would. This is a classic.
[41:13] Speaker 1: This is a huge straight to series for me. Is
[41:16] Speaker 1: you starting from it one of Summerhouse?
[41:18] Speaker 3: Okay?
[41:19] Speaker 1: I see billions of dollars?
[41:21] Speaker 3: I like, I love that you can do. I do
[41:23] Speaker 3: anything to not have to write television.
[41:27] Speaker 1: It's so hard. Raise that's not so good.
[41:31] Speaker 2: I just when did you have this feeling? Because you know,
[41:34] Speaker 2: you know what, It dawned on me that like writing
[41:36] Speaker 2: fucking sucks was when Phoebe waller Bridge hosted SNL and
[41:39] Speaker 2: we were talking between you know, blocking, stopdowns or whatever,
[41:42] Speaker 2: and I was just like whatever. I didn't even bring
[41:44] Speaker 2: it up. She just goes, writing is the worst fucking
[41:47] Speaker 2: thing in the worldly. I hate to do it, and
[41:50] Speaker 2: yet I have to and it's amazing and I do
[41:53] Speaker 2: love it, but it is the worst. Ultimately she loves it.
[41:55] Speaker 2: Which she was telling me was it is by nature
[41:58] Speaker 2: so fucking hard.
[42:00] Speaker 3: It's so hard.
[42:00] Speaker 1: Because it's hard to have fun preparing to do it
[42:04] Speaker 1: and sitting down to do it and then doing it.
[42:08] Speaker 1: And so that is, But what is your actual writing process?
[42:12] Speaker 1: Do you actually get down and type out? Like are
[42:14] Speaker 1: you on the go? Like I'm curious about that.
[42:17] Speaker 3: So for so for different things like so for the
[42:20] Speaker 3: writer's rooms, that's just like sitting in a room. But
[42:22] Speaker 3: I think the the hard thing is coming up with
[42:26] Speaker 3: things that are legitimately funny over and over again, and
[42:29] Speaker 3: like the joke writing, Like on the MINDI Project League,
[42:32] Speaker 3: we had Tracy Wigfield, Matt Warburton, Blane Fisher, we had
[42:36] Speaker 3: a lot of like Eike and Dave, like, we had
[42:38] Speaker 3: a lot of really great joke writers. But like that
[42:41] Speaker 3: thing of like it's just so hard to come up
[42:44] Speaker 3: with that many jokes. It just takes a lot of effort.
[42:47] Speaker 3: And that's the thing with like the comedy shows. Like
[42:48] Speaker 3: so when I watch he did Rivalry or off Campus,
[42:52] Speaker 3: I'm naming a lot of sexy shows. But like when
[42:55] Speaker 3: I when I see those ones, I'm like, I don't
[42:57] Speaker 3: think it's easy. I think there's like other challenges to
[43:00] Speaker 3: doing sexy hour longs, but like I long to have
[43:03] Speaker 3: it not be that the thing that's keeping you from
[43:05] Speaker 3: going home or having a joke writing, like.
[43:09] Speaker 1: There is tension.
[43:12] Speaker 2: Yes, car and go home, get my.
[43:14] Speaker 1: Car and go home.
[43:15] Speaker 2: So I.
[43:17] Speaker 3: I mean you guys, like first of all, hosting funny
[43:19] Speaker 3: award shows, doing ESNL, Like with you guys, I mean
[43:22] Speaker 3: you must face this with your guys as writers. It's
[43:25] Speaker 3: just but it's it is the most fun, but it's
[43:28] Speaker 3: it is exhausting now writing for when I write my essays,
[43:32] Speaker 3: that's challenging. All I'm doing is complaining, Like these are
[43:35] Speaker 3: great jobs. I want to just acknowledge you.
[43:37] Speaker 1: But I think that the hard thing is when you
[43:41] Speaker 1: know that their fun jobs and yet you still like
[43:44] Speaker 1: your brain is like it's it's decided. It's works, and
[43:47] Speaker 1: so then you have to, I guess, reframe the mentality
[43:50] Speaker 1: to be like I am lucky to make I'm lucky, Yes,
[43:52] Speaker 1: but it's still it's very challenging to people don't understand.
[43:58] Speaker 1: It's like math, you know.
[44:00] Speaker 3: And so I think when I'm when I'm writing my essays,
[44:02] Speaker 3: then it's a thing where I'm alone at my house
[44:04] Speaker 3: and I feel like we've all read the celebrity essays
[44:07] Speaker 3: where you can just tell the person is just doing
[44:09] Speaker 3: it because someone paid them a lot of money, and
[44:11] Speaker 3: it's just sort of boring. And so I think, like,
[44:14] Speaker 3: then you see a really good version of it, like
[44:16] Speaker 3: bossy Pants, and that thing is riddled with jokes like
[44:18] Speaker 3: Tina clearly spent so long making sure that was so
[44:22] Speaker 3: so funny, and I think, like, so I that's those
[44:26] Speaker 3: are It's just hard, but it's it's obviously worth it.
[44:29] Speaker 2: But speaking of your first again, speaking of your essay books,
[44:33] Speaker 2: you did also predict another thing in addition to the
[44:35] Speaker 2: Olivia Coleman win Beyonce would release a country album.
[44:40] Speaker 1: Did I say that I said that in your first
[44:42] Speaker 1: fucking book?
[44:42] Speaker 2: Mindy, Wait, you know what's funny?
[44:44] Speaker 3: I know that I said there was going to be
[44:45] Speaker 3: like a kool Aid movie. And then that was a runner.
[44:48] Speaker 3: That was the runner in the studio.
[44:50] Speaker 2: Oh wow, see wait, what's going on with you?
[44:53] Speaker 3: Am I? Yes, that's the show to.
[45:00] Speaker 1: The title show.
[45:03] Speaker 3: Would you produce?
[45:05] Speaker 1: Its just a woman. I think we're coming up with
[45:08] Speaker 1: a lot of bad stuff across meeting.
[45:11] Speaker 3: That would be like a good CBS show. Like I'm like,
[45:16] Speaker 3: I'm a single mom in my forties trying to date,
[45:19] Speaker 3: see if there's dating, and then like I'm in the
[45:22] Speaker 3: middle of a date with Scott Speedman and I'm like, wait, wait,
[45:26] Speaker 3: I see something coming.
[45:28] Speaker 1: Mandy, You're going to sell a show right now if
[45:30] Speaker 1: you're not careful and you hate writing.
[45:33] Speaker 3: But I would like working on hot Indian astro Dog.
[45:36] Speaker 1: I know, like like logul Is.
[45:39] Speaker 2: It's like Amy Poor has page in Hannah. Now it's like,
[45:42] Speaker 2: I know, you just adopt us like in that.
[45:45] Speaker 3: Well, you guys came up with this. I would be
[45:46] Speaker 3: your page in Hannah like you guys, Amy, You're yes,
[45:52] Speaker 3: you're the producer.
[45:53] Speaker 1: Great, we can do that.
[45:54] Speaker 3: You're a video village coming in to tell me love it?
[45:57] Speaker 1: I love only get chairs with our names. Oh I
[46:00] Speaker 1: love that. Oh yeah, this is a bizarre question. But
[46:06] Speaker 1: I know my answer. I went to school for writing.
[46:09] Speaker 1: Actually I went to ny U Tician. I went just
[46:11] Speaker 1: went back into the commencement speech for the dramatic writing.
[46:14] Speaker 3: Are you kidding?
[46:15] Speaker 1: Yeah? It was a really moving emotional.
[46:18] Speaker 3: But first of all, huge that is talk about writing
[46:21] Speaker 3: being hard. Writing a commencement speech is at the very top,
[46:26] Speaker 3: because that shit's got to be very funny, like very grabby,
[46:29] Speaker 3: and it was for writers, and yes, and it has
[46:31] Speaker 3: to be like emotional, and you have to have some
[46:33] Speaker 3: kind of original message that no one has ever said
[46:36] Speaker 3: that they that just can't be like be true to
[46:38] Speaker 3: yourself or take risks or some shit like.
[46:40] Speaker 1: No, I really wanted to tell the truth. And I
[46:43] Speaker 1: was like, listen, like I think that when you were
[46:46] Speaker 1: a writer right now, when you're facing this industry, it
[46:48] Speaker 1: would be really hard to get demoralized. And also, all
[46:50] Speaker 1: of the parents are there who have just spent and
[46:52] Speaker 1: let me say this clearly, four hundred thousand dollars on
[46:55] Speaker 1: their kids education. Oh my god, all right, and they're thinking,
[46:59] Speaker 1: you know, out what the hell, like, what's gonna happen
[47:01] Speaker 1: to my kid? In fact, a lot of them parents
[47:03] Speaker 1: came up and they were like it's really nice to
[47:05] Speaker 1: see someone that was successful in the program come back
[47:08] Speaker 1: like thank you for doing this. And I was just like, listen,
[47:11] Speaker 1: you didn't waste your money because they have a community
[47:14] Speaker 1: and that is so important and so rare just to
[47:17] Speaker 1: have a bunch of people around that you know, that
[47:19] Speaker 1: are also doing I mean, that was us that gave
[47:22] Speaker 1: us everything. Like we're still in touch with people from
[47:25] Speaker 1: back then. I still see people, you know, thriving in
[47:28] Speaker 1: the business, like in many different ways. And what I
[47:31] Speaker 1: said to them was, don't be afraid of taking different forms,
[47:36] Speaker 1: like you might not it might not be the best
[47:38] Speaker 1: idea for you to move to LA right now and
[47:40] Speaker 1: like hit the mail room or something you might it
[47:43] Speaker 1: might be you taking you know again, this is my
[47:46] Speaker 1: thoughts popping out, but an improv class or you know,
[47:49] Speaker 1: or trying something new or yes, starting a podcast or
[47:53] Speaker 1: just you have to support each other in those forms.
[47:56] Speaker 1: But I was looking out at them and I was
[47:57] Speaker 1: like here they are, like with their specscripts in hand
[48:01] Speaker 1: and everything. And it got me thinking about what made
[48:05] Speaker 1: me decide I wanted to be a writer. And I
[48:08] Speaker 1: wonder when that moment was for you, like not only
[48:11] Speaker 1: just when you decided to become a writer. But when
[48:15] Speaker 1: you knew that was a thing.
[48:17] Speaker 3: Well, I was. I first want to react to the speech,
[48:19] Speaker 3: which was that must have been so reassuring for the
[48:22] Speaker 3: parents and for the kids there who can not only
[48:26] Speaker 3: not only hear that from you, but to be like,
[48:28] Speaker 3: no about your relationship with Bowen and how you guys
[48:30] Speaker 3: met and how this could be them, and like that
[48:33] Speaker 3: must have been so reassuring for like the parents and
[48:36] Speaker 3: men who put in this a massive investment. I can't
[48:39] Speaker 3: wait to google this now.
[48:40] Speaker 1: I basically made the speech about our friend Sudi because
[48:43] Speaker 1: we met at the program Sudie Green, and she went.
[48:45] Speaker 3: On it's amazing. Yeah.
[48:47] Speaker 1: Then she went on to become a supervising writer at
[48:50] Speaker 1: SNL wrote on the Cultural Awards with us. We've worked
[48:53] Speaker 1: on shows like I Love That for You Together that
[48:55] Speaker 1: she wrote for and I was on. But I was
[48:57] Speaker 1: telling them, I was like, you know these people that
[49:00] Speaker 1: you're surrounded by that you think our special really are,
[49:03] Speaker 1: so make it about that, and you know she just
[49:05] Speaker 1: had a baby, and it's just she's still our close,
[49:09] Speaker 1: close friend from all the way back there. So just
[49:11] Speaker 1: trying to let them know, like these are real connections
[49:14] Speaker 1: in this moment, and it's important because there are not
[49:18] Speaker 1: a lot of resources out there, right, Yeah, but you
[49:21] Speaker 1: have each other and I think that that's.
[49:23] Speaker 3: Well, and that's so important when you feel like you
[49:25] Speaker 3: don't have access, like I remember so much like being
[49:28] Speaker 3: twenty one, and there's other people you see out there
[49:31] Speaker 3: and their parents have this connection and they have this
[49:33] Speaker 3: and that, and you're like, I don't have access, but
[49:35] Speaker 3: you're like, Okay. It must have been reassuring for those
[49:37] Speaker 3: people to be like, well, we have access to our
[49:38] Speaker 3: other friends that we believe in and together we can
[49:41] Speaker 3: like build a foundation and create something that's so nice.
[49:46] Speaker 3: And to answer what was your question?
[49:48] Speaker 1: Because I remember I didn't really realize that I could
[49:51] Speaker 1: do that as a career till I was watching Lost
[49:53] Speaker 1: one day. What and I was watching It was the
[49:56] Speaker 1: sixth episode of the first first season of Lost. House
[49:58] Speaker 1: of the Rising Sun. It was Sun's flashback episode where
[50:03] Speaker 1: you found out she has been learning how to speak
[50:04] Speaker 1: English so she can leave Gin. And I am sobbing
[50:08] Speaker 1: at the end of it because there's this flashback where
[50:10] Speaker 1: she's walking towards this black car that's going to drive
[50:13] Speaker 1: her away, and she turns around and Jin holds up
[50:16] Speaker 1: like her favorite flower and orchid, and she goes back
[50:18] Speaker 1: to him, and then it cuts to them on the
[50:20] Speaker 1: beach and you realize that decision has cost her.
[50:22] Speaker 3: You know, Oh my god, I'm getting chills.
[50:24] Speaker 1: And I was sobbing and the score was going and
[50:27] Speaker 1: I was like, oh my god. And then it cut
[50:28] Speaker 1: to the credits and it said written by someone, and
[50:31] Speaker 1: I was like, oh, I want to do that.
[50:33] Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[50:34] Speaker 1: I was like, I want to do that. I have
[50:36] Speaker 1: to I want to write this. Oh. And then it
[50:38] Speaker 1: clicked for me. I was like wow, and I was
[50:39] Speaker 1: so exciting. I was like, I know what I want
[50:41] Speaker 1: to do. And I wonder when you had that moment
[50:44] Speaker 1: or if that moment appeared ever. I guess it's another
[50:47] Speaker 1: form of the culture question is but specific to you.
[50:51] Speaker 3: So we talked earlier about how we just will look
[50:55] Speaker 3: at credits and to me, I was not like a snob,
[50:59] Speaker 3: like I would watch like whatever my parents would let
[51:01] Speaker 3: me watch. So like I remember, at that time, it
[51:03] Speaker 3: was really just like what was on, Like I looked
[51:06] Speaker 3: like The X Files. I liked you guys. I don't
[51:08] Speaker 3: know if you know Doctor Katz, like that was a
[51:11] Speaker 3: Comedy Central show. Jonathan Katz, the stand up oh a
[51:14] Speaker 3: doctor and he played a therapist in all these different
[51:17] Speaker 3: standard It was like one of those early Comedy Central
[51:18] Speaker 3: animated shows Swiggle Vision. Oh cool, So that was But
[51:23] Speaker 3: I would just look at and then I mean, I
[51:26] Speaker 3: don't even know if you guys were watching TV, but
[51:28] Speaker 3: Comedy Central would have like Premium Blend, yeah, and they
[51:32] Speaker 3: would do like you would turn if you were sick
[51:34] Speaker 3: at home, you would turn on the TV, and like
[51:35] Speaker 3: they would have these random things where just they would
[51:37] Speaker 3: do like three minute clips of lots of different stand ups.
[51:39] Speaker 3: You'd be like Judy Gold and Judy Gold who's in
[51:43] Speaker 3: not suitable for work and is an icon but and
[51:46] Speaker 3: Emo Phillips and those kinds of things. So to me,
[51:49] Speaker 3: it was a mix of just that like nineteen eighty
[51:53] Speaker 3: nine to nineteen ninety three network television and like a
[51:57] Speaker 3: little bit of Comedy Central just like watching like Kids
[52:00] Speaker 3: in the Hall ye oh, huge, huge, huge, And what
[52:03] Speaker 3: they were doing was so boundary, pushing and ahead of
[52:06] Speaker 3: its time. So I think that I don't know if
[52:08] Speaker 3: that totally answers through question, but like I was watching
[52:11] Speaker 3: everything like Wings on NBC, like just you know anything,
[52:17] Speaker 3: what was the.
[52:17] Speaker 2: Thing that compelled you to write like that and math
[52:20] Speaker 2: like like, well, like how did that process like because
[52:22] Speaker 2: because remind me because it was all in the book, right.
[52:24] Speaker 3: Yeah, So I books my So I moved out to
[52:29] Speaker 3: New York with my best friend Jocelyn and our other
[52:31] Speaker 3: best friend Brenda, had graduated a year before I sat Dartmouth,
[52:35] Speaker 3: and so that was we moved out in August of
[52:38] Speaker 3: two thousand and one and we're just lettling in when
[52:40] Speaker 3: nine wow. And so that period of time there was
[52:45] Speaker 3: not a lot of like just everything kind of stopped,
[52:48] Speaker 3: like there wasn't a lot of like hiring even getting
[52:50] Speaker 3: jobs as like waiters and waitress. It was just hard
[52:52] Speaker 3: because everything kind of came where were you living in
[52:54] Speaker 3: New York and Winsor Terrace. So we lived in a
[52:57] Speaker 3: railroad department in Winsor Terrists, the three of us, and
[52:59] Speaker 3: so there was just a lot of time when we
[53:01] Speaker 3: were just looking for any kind of job. And that's
[53:04] Speaker 3: when I applied to be a page at NBC and
[53:07] Speaker 3: I thought it was like a sure thing and didn't
[53:09] Speaker 3: even get like an interview for that, which was at
[53:13] Speaker 3: the time because I was at Dartmouth, which was I
[53:16] Speaker 3: loved Dartmouth, but it wasn't at that time known for
[53:19] Speaker 3: like its arts. Like I ruled that fucking school, like
[53:21] Speaker 3: there was the only one interested in doing like sketch
[53:23] Speaker 3: comedy and little comedy plays. And I had like a
[53:26] Speaker 3: powerful click of like bitchy people in the comedy department
[53:29] Speaker 3: and the drama department. And then I came out and
[53:34] Speaker 3: it was that kind of classic root awakening where like
[53:36] Speaker 3: no one cared at all, and so I didn't get
[53:39] Speaker 3: that job, and I was literally like this, I'm like
[53:42] Speaker 3: shoe in for this job. Yeah, And so then I
[53:46] Speaker 3: just was babysitting and I so I was babysitting in
[53:51] Speaker 3: the evenings and my best friend Brenda was substitute teaching
[53:55] Speaker 3: in Brooklyn during the days, but we would have this
[53:57] Speaker 3: like one hour of free time before I left a
[54:01] Speaker 3: babysit that she came home and we started tinkering around.
[54:04] Speaker 3: We kind of like neither of us were like UCB people,
[54:07] Speaker 3: but we would kind of like be improvising the characters
[54:10] Speaker 3: of Matt Damon and Ben Afflecks. We just thought they
[54:12] Speaker 3: were so they loomed so large in culture that we
[54:15] Speaker 3: would just be doing impressions of them. And then I
[54:17] Speaker 3: think it just occurred to us, like what if we
[54:19] Speaker 3: did like more of a long form thing where it
[54:22] Speaker 3: was more about a story about their actual relationship, and
[54:26] Speaker 3: what are the kind of like this is we didn't
[54:28] Speaker 3: know completely this is the quintessential parasocial like just of
[54:31] Speaker 3: course just and then it then became like not about
[54:35] Speaker 3: the actual actors anymore, but the nature of friendship in
[54:39] Speaker 3: creativity and competition and when one person is perceived being ahead.
[54:44] Speaker 3: And at that time, I think we kind of knew
[54:46] Speaker 3: that Matt Damon was like a little bit more of
[54:49] Speaker 3: like the serious actor type, and Ben Affleck was handsome
[54:52] Speaker 3: but like maybe not considered in the same category. He
[54:55] Speaker 3: was also very famous, and so we invented this dynamic
[54:58] Speaker 3: of what it was like when they were twenty one
[55:01] Speaker 3: and no one knew who they were before they wrote
[55:03] Speaker 3: the script for Goodle Hunting. And I think it we
[55:06] Speaker 3: knew Brenda and I like we obviously had our own
[55:09] Speaker 3: friendship and a lot of like our own feelings about
[55:13] Speaker 3: that process, which is, as you guys know, like it's
[55:16] Speaker 3: complex and it can be like so wonderful that you
[55:19] Speaker 3: are going through this with your best friend, but there
[55:21] Speaker 3: is the ugly side of it, and there's you know
[55:24] Speaker 3: when one person sy's just ahead and then the other
[55:26] Speaker 3: person stalls out and then that person you know. So
[55:29] Speaker 3: that's what the play was about. I got to play
[55:33] Speaker 3: Ben Affleck, which was one of the most fun roles
[55:35] Speaker 3: of my life, and I hope I can come back
[55:37] Speaker 3: and play this part. And we did get a face
[55:40] Speaker 3: that I think I would I have like lit. I
[55:43] Speaker 3: just all I want is for someone to be like,
[55:46] Speaker 3: for this charity, would you redo it or something? Because
[55:49] Speaker 3: I really Yeah, for like ten years it was just
[55:52] Speaker 3: Ben Affleck and Kelly Kapor. Those are the only two
[55:54] Speaker 3: roles I have played, and they were so different, but
[55:57] Speaker 3: that was that's why we did it. We also did
[56:00] Speaker 3: it because it's like we would I wasn't in a union,
[56:03] Speaker 3: We couldn't like audition in any real way for things.
[56:05] Speaker 3: So the Fringe Festival, which is was incredible, was like
[56:07] Speaker 3: the only way that we could do anything.
[56:09] Speaker 1: Did you do it in Edinburgh?
[56:11] Speaker 3: No, the New York French, the New York Fringe, Yeah.
[56:14] Speaker 2: I see, like for you like that initial writing process
[56:17] Speaker 2: was riffing. Yes, ultimately what it is what it is?
[56:22] Speaker 3: Yeah, it's yeahs And that's sort of what a writer's room.
[56:26] Speaker 3: I wouldn't know this at the time. That's what a
[56:27] Speaker 3: writer's room was ended up being like, Yeah, that's why
[56:30] Speaker 3: it was so fun when we would do the mini
[56:32] Speaker 3: project and I Baron Holtz was in the writer's room
[56:35] Speaker 3: and then also on set, because it felt like Matt
[56:38] Speaker 3: and Ben really prepared me for that experience of like, hey,
[56:41] Speaker 3: let's like riff in character.
[56:44] Speaker 2: So fun God, I love that man you are.
[56:47] Speaker 3: Has he been on this.
[56:48] Speaker 1: No he's not, but I was. We were actually just
[56:50] Speaker 1: watching it and I was telling Fraser we met once
[56:53] Speaker 1: on History of the World and he is such a
[56:56] Speaker 1: nice guy and he's so funny, and he's so good
[56:59] Speaker 1: on the studio and I've only heard you ever say
[57:03] Speaker 1: that he's so lovely.
[57:04] Speaker 2: We've been rounded a handful of times.
[57:05] Speaker 3: Yeah, it's he's the most popular person in Hollywood.
[57:09] Speaker 1: It's like a Seth Meyers vibe where everyone kind of
[57:11] Speaker 1: says positive things.
[57:12] Speaker 3: Everyone says positive things, and he's like, it's like him, Seth,
[57:17] Speaker 3: I agree, he's so nice. Octavia Spencer of course, Oh,
[57:21] Speaker 3: I haven't had the pleasure.
[57:22] Speaker 2: I'm not either, But.
[57:23] Speaker 1: She's excited from ma too. She is, I mean ma
[57:27] Speaker 1: is he cackles, said Missy Pyle getting run over by
[57:30] Speaker 1: that car.
[57:31] Speaker 3: It's it's such a good movie, and that's a great moment.
[57:34] Speaker 2: She runs a rever and goes fucking count turns on
[57:38] Speaker 2: the radio September by Earth Wind and Fire. It's so
[57:42] Speaker 2: it kills someone so quickly. I said that person had
[57:45] Speaker 2: a full life. And then playing earth Wind and Fire.
[57:48] Speaker 2: I mean that's cinema.
[57:50] Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, that's a great, great movie.
[57:52] Speaker 1: I love when any horror movie or movie like that
[57:55] Speaker 1: that like kills characters as if they've had no life
[57:57] Speaker 1: before the moment they've had on things like are you all?
[58:01] Speaker 1: It's it's my favorite thing when they pretend they've they've
[58:05] Speaker 1: got no friends, family, anyone that would carry them just disposed.
[58:08] Speaker 1: Kate Mara in the subway in House of Cards headfirst.
[58:12] Speaker 3: That was a huge moment in my scream in.
[58:15] Speaker 1: My bad Yeah, that was crazy.
[58:17] Speaker 3: It was good.
[58:20] Speaker 2: Introducing Eminem's caramel you already love now popped into a
[58:24] Speaker 2: totally new texture.
[58:25] Speaker 1: I'd say Eminem's are one of those truly iconic snacks.
[58:29] Speaker 2: They've just launched a brand new freeze dried innovation that
[58:32] Speaker 2: brings a whole new vibe to the eminem lineup.
[58:35] Speaker 1: I mean come on, what's not to love about Eminem's
[58:39] Speaker 1: by itself?
[58:40] Speaker 2: And if it's freeze dried, I feel like I'm in space.
[58:44] Speaker 2: Eminem's continues to be that girl. The crunch is unexpected
[58:48] Speaker 2: in the best.
[58:48] Speaker 1: Way way, crisper than you'd think.
[58:50] Speaker 2: Like you bite into one and there's this little pop
[58:53] Speaker 2: that you don't see coming from something that still tastes
[58:55] Speaker 2: like classic Eminem's caramel. Sure they don't look exactly like
[58:58] Speaker 2: the Eminems you know, but the are the Eminem's you love.
[59:01] Speaker 2: They're perfect for snacking when watching television, scrolling on your phone,
[59:05] Speaker 2: or settling in for a movie.
[59:06] Speaker 1: And I'm already thinking that'd be great to have on
[59:08] Speaker 1: handler watching the Culture Awards.
[59:11] Speaker 2: Yes, the best part is they've got that classic Eminem's
[59:15] Speaker 2: caramel flavor. It's available in stores.
[59:18] Speaker 1: Now. I'm gonna try one right now. Amazing pop pop.
[59:23] Speaker 1: I really do like them. Fraser's favorite person is you mine?
[59:28] Speaker 1: Just tell Kate Hudson was tell Kate Hudson she has
[59:31] Speaker 1: a home in my heart.
[59:34] Speaker 3: She would she would die for. I mean to be
[59:36] Speaker 3: on this show for you.
[59:39] Speaker 2: This show is Matt's Kate Hudson impression.
[59:41] Speaker 3: Which is Kate Hudson has she never done that?
[59:43] Speaker 1: No, we we know she's a Cultural Award nominee. You
[59:46] Speaker 1: know this year best way to be whilst flirting, just
[59:50] Speaker 1: be Kate Hudson.
[59:51] Speaker 3: She's a real flirt.
[59:53] Speaker 1: She's kind of like, this is my impression of her. What,
[59:56] Speaker 1: what's the big deal? Who cares? That's the s into her?
[1:00:00] Speaker 1: Like like smoking weed in high school. We're not going
[1:00:03] Speaker 1: to get caught.
[1:00:04] Speaker 2: What my mom's goldie.
[1:00:06] Speaker 1: My mom's goldie. You're gonna get caught. Fuck off? You
[1:00:10] Speaker 1: know what I mean? Yeah, sort of like a glass
[1:00:13] Speaker 1: and a half of wine in energy.
[1:00:16] Speaker 3: Yes, this is You've nailed it. She's really like that.
[1:00:19] Speaker 1: I love it. I feel her through the screen. Whenever
[1:00:21] Speaker 1: she's in a film, I see myself on screen. I'm
[1:00:25] Speaker 1: not kidding, I am.
[1:00:26] Speaker 3: I'm very surprised, but I also like, I I love this,
[1:00:30] Speaker 3: and I guess I guess maybe it's not maybe I'm
[1:00:36] Speaker 3: not that you see yourself in her when she's on screen.
[1:00:41] Speaker 3: I guess I wouldn't have thought of that.
[1:00:42] Speaker 1: There's something about like her whole vibe where I'm just like,
[1:00:48] Speaker 1: I just get so I'm so happy every time I
[1:00:50] Speaker 1: see her.
[1:00:51] Speaker 3: She's the composite of uptight when I'm around her, there's
[1:00:55] Speaker 3: nothing and like, you know, this is a woman who
[1:00:57] Speaker 3: like and this is why I really love Kate. She
[1:00:59] Speaker 3: came up been like the aughts in Hollywood. Yeah, this
[1:01:03] Speaker 3: isn't like this was. It was not like a cool
[1:01:06] Speaker 3: time to be like a leading lady, you know, in
[1:01:09] Speaker 3: that time. And she's seen some I'm sure some ugly
[1:01:11] Speaker 3: ship by the way, She's never told me this, but
[1:01:13] Speaker 3: like on the set, like she just has an old
[1:01:15] Speaker 3: school vibe where she's like it's a thing where like
[1:01:18] Speaker 3: when we're on set she doesn't like someone, she just
[1:01:21] Speaker 3: does the thing where she's like it's fine. Like she's
[1:01:24] Speaker 3: not asking me to talk to hr. She's just going
[1:01:27] Speaker 3: home to talk to her husband Danny and just being
[1:01:29] Speaker 3: like talking shit about them. It's like, yeah school, Yeah,
[1:01:31] Speaker 3: she just doesn't.
[1:01:32] Speaker 1: It's like, I bet her ship talk is a plus.
[1:01:36] Speaker 3: The shit talk is really good.
[1:01:37] Speaker 1: Oh, it's so good. She has a lot of around.
[1:01:40] Speaker 3: Yeah, she stories from like like before nine to eleven. Yeah,
[1:01:43] Speaker 3: you know what I mean, like just famous people she
[1:01:45] Speaker 3: met on a let.
[1:01:46] Speaker 1: Me tell you what I saw at the Chateau in
[1:01:48] Speaker 1: nineteen ninety eight. Yeah, yeah, it was gross.
[1:01:51] Speaker 3: Yes, early Brad Pitt's story. It's just like she's a
[1:01:54] Speaker 3: lot of to be hot in the nineties in Hollywood.
[1:01:58] Speaker 1: It's so tough.
[1:01:59] Speaker 3: I know, it was nice. It was nice.
[1:02:01] Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
[1:02:03] Speaker 2: You know what's coming back to me, is you saying
[1:02:05] Speaker 2: on Letterman that you want to sit courtside at a
[1:02:07] Speaker 2: basketball game because you want a player to fall on you.
[1:02:11] Speaker 3: Say that.
[1:02:12] Speaker 2: I absolutely said that he's got the bibli got the
[1:02:16] Speaker 2: vocal stems down on.
[1:02:19] Speaker 1: Court side.
[1:02:20] Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, I've had I've never had someone fall on me.
[1:02:24] Speaker 1: With a cool Lakers jersey because I love sports, kind
[1:02:29] Speaker 1: of sporty.
[1:02:30] Speaker 3: No, I do you genuinely like basketball? And I love
[1:02:33] Speaker 3: the Lakers. I love Genie Bussuh. She was one of
[1:02:36] Speaker 3: the producers on Running Point. But no one has ever
[1:02:39] Speaker 3: fallen on me before. You know, it's nice about it
[1:02:42] Speaker 3: because when they fall on you, they have to be like,
[1:02:43] Speaker 3: oh sorry, madame, and they have to pick you up
[1:02:45] Speaker 3: and make sure that you're okay.
[1:02:47] Speaker 2: That'd be sexy if that's what you know, not like
[1:02:49] Speaker 2: you you sorry, madam. I mean you know this is
[1:02:57] Speaker 2: I'm going to try to recreate this can because they
[1:02:59] Speaker 2: take a lot of like the Worldwide pants stuff down.
[1:03:01] Speaker 2: I don't know why. It's like just not on YouTube.
[1:03:03] Speaker 1: Take it down a lot.
[1:03:04] Speaker 2: You go, yeah, I just want to go say quotes
[1:03:07] Speaker 2: Sat Patty basketball game. And then Letterman goes, that's great,
[1:03:09] Speaker 2: and then a beat and you go, I just want
[1:03:12] Speaker 2: wanted them to fall on me.
[1:03:13] Speaker 1: Huge laugh from.
[1:03:14] Speaker 3: The audience, Like what was his reaction?
[1:03:20] Speaker 2: This is what Tina was saying, like, yeah, he, well
[1:03:22] Speaker 2: you remember this, like he would not do the late
[1:03:24] Speaker 2: night show hosting of like coming to say hi to
[1:03:26] Speaker 2: you before you were on stage. She wanted it to
[1:03:28] Speaker 2: be like the first interaction you have to be out
[1:03:31] Speaker 2: on stage at the Absolvent Theater, which is terrifying. Yeah
[1:03:34] Speaker 2: you know what I mean, Like I can't like I
[1:03:36] Speaker 2: need the host to come and say hi to me first.
[1:03:38] Speaker 1: I feel like, what what was.
[1:03:39] Speaker 2: So nice about uh? Like this perfect ascent of Mindy
[1:03:45] Speaker 2: Kaling was that I keep preferring you're in the third person,
[1:03:47] Speaker 2: and I'm sure I love it.
[1:03:48] Speaker 3: It makes me feel really famous and important. I really
[1:03:51] Speaker 3: like it.
[1:03:51] Speaker 2: I feel like you plugged in so neatly and beautifully.
[1:03:56] Speaker 2: It just clicked, like you clicking into like your sort
[1:04:00] Speaker 2: of like your renown and your whatever notoriety. Just like
[1:04:05] Speaker 2: it just it just made so much sense that you
[1:04:07] Speaker 2: became who you are, you know what I mean, does
[1:04:09] Speaker 2: this make sense?
[1:04:10] Speaker 3: It's it's I really it's I really appreciate it because
[1:04:14] Speaker 3: that time when I was on the MINDI Project, I
[1:04:17] Speaker 3: think times were a little bit different, and you know,
[1:04:20] Speaker 3: obviously going back there were things that I would do differently,
[1:04:23] Speaker 3: but I'm I'm happy that it had some impact. You know,
[1:04:27] Speaker 3: the show was never a hit. We were always waiting
[1:04:29] Speaker 3: with baited breath to see if we're gonna get picked up.
[1:04:31] Speaker 1: It felt like that every year, every.
[1:04:32] Speaker 3: Year that we got canceled. Then it went to Hulu,
[1:04:34] Speaker 3: which at the time it was just like that show
[1:04:37] Speaker 3: about the Ghost, Like it was like there was a
[1:04:39] Speaker 3: show about there was a show about a ghost. And
[1:04:45] Speaker 3: then I remember BJ, well he would he would corroborate this.
[1:04:49] Speaker 3: I remember it was like BJ, I think we're going
[1:04:51] Speaker 3: to go to Hulu and he's like, I don't what
[1:04:52] Speaker 3: even is that he just let it. He's like, maybe
[1:04:55] Speaker 3: it's classier to just like let it die. It's going
[1:04:57] Speaker 3: on to this other thing, and that would have been
[1:05:00] Speaker 3: the classio thing. But I was like, I gotta just
[1:05:01] Speaker 3: keep doing this, like I don't know what my life
[1:05:04] Speaker 3: is if I have to say, I didn't want it,
[1:05:06] Speaker 3: like them to win by canceling it. So we did it,
[1:05:09] Speaker 3: and like you know, when we went and all of
[1:05:12] Speaker 3: the writers stayed and you know, and it was that
[1:05:14] Speaker 3: was such a huge risk, but it never felt like
[1:05:18] Speaker 3: it was a success during it. It was always like a
[1:05:20] Speaker 3: slog and there was always like endless I mean, I
[1:05:23] Speaker 3: don't know Bowen if you feel this way, but like
[1:05:25] Speaker 3: there's always endless scrutiny about like representation and some of it,
[1:05:29] Speaker 3: some of it looking back in it, I was like, oh,
[1:05:31] Speaker 3: that that was good. I should have done out that differently.
[1:05:33] Speaker 3: And then some of it was like why are you
[1:05:35] Speaker 3: picking on me again? Like if it wasn't my appearance,
[1:05:39] Speaker 3: then it was like the way that the show was
[1:05:41] Speaker 3: casting and I'm complaining about it all now. And some
[1:05:43] Speaker 3: of it was really valid, but it was just a
[1:05:45] Speaker 3: different time. So I it's so grat I've sounds so needy,
[1:05:48] Speaker 3: but it's so nice to hear that, you guys, it
[1:05:51] Speaker 3: made an impact on you guys. Also, there was like
[1:05:54] Speaker 3: I mean, we had some funny guest stars, like yeah,
[1:05:57] Speaker 3: Wigg was on the show, George Appeals, even Cold Beert,
[1:06:02] Speaker 3: I mean, if it had been on now, for sure
[1:06:04] Speaker 3: you guys would have gotten a call to play.
[1:06:06] Speaker 1: That's kind you know, you'd think we'd get these calls.
[1:06:10] Speaker 3: I think we would get a call and then Morgan
[1:06:13] Speaker 3: would be like, I think he's married, and no, no, no,
[1:06:17] Speaker 3: Matt's not married, he doesn't have another family, and then
[1:06:19] Speaker 3: like then we'd meet your other family exactly.
[1:06:24] Speaker 1: Yeah, you went through child's and tribulations. We just watched
[1:06:26] Speaker 1: you break up with Brian Greenberg.
[1:06:28] Speaker 3: Ryan Greenberg, what is sweet?
[1:06:30] Speaker 1: What a sweet heart? The husband of Jamie Chong. Yes,
[1:06:33] Speaker 1: of course Real World's Jamie Chung. I first knew Jamie Chong.
[1:06:38] Speaker 2: They're so beautiful.
[1:06:40] Speaker 3: Yes, they are great looking couple, and they know how
[1:06:43] Speaker 3: to vacation.
[1:06:44] Speaker 1: Do they vacation? Well?
[1:06:46] Speaker 3: I feel like I when I'm on their Instagram, I
[1:06:49] Speaker 3: see them on vacation a lot, which is not to
[1:06:51] Speaker 3: say they don't work.
[1:06:51] Speaker 1: No, no, of course, what's your dream vacation? And remember
[1:06:55] Speaker 1: phrasers here he can make it with map.
[1:06:57] Speaker 3: I mean some kind of like I'm on something and
[1:07:02] Speaker 3: I'm on Gary Yara something in a place, a beach
[1:07:08] Speaker 3: like place.
[1:07:09] Speaker 1: He's he's, he's, he's he's miss making mental notes Turks
[1:07:11] Speaker 1: and Kekos.
[1:07:12] Speaker 2: Which one is that, I'm I'm on Geary, I'm in Yara.
[1:07:15] Speaker 1: I'm on what where? What?
[1:07:16] Speaker 3: He just looked at you, like, how could you say Geary?
[1:07:21] Speaker 3: I know, how could you possibly?
[1:07:23] Speaker 2: I'm Yara Turk and Kekos. I know that for a
[1:07:25] Speaker 2: fact because they went there between writing for Schmiga Dune
[1:07:29] Speaker 2: and then getting moved to cast Rest now and I
[1:07:31] Speaker 2: was like, I need a week to myself. What is it.
[1:07:37] Speaker 3: You went there for a week. Do you come from money,
[1:07:40] Speaker 3: big time money?
[1:07:41] Speaker 1: No?
[1:07:41] Speaker 2: My dad was a farmer on a canola farm in
[1:07:44] Speaker 2: Inner Mongolia.
[1:07:45] Speaker 3: Did he did he like own the farm?
[1:07:46] Speaker 2: No?
[1:07:48] Speaker 1: And how do I'm sorry, are you how do you
[1:07:50] Speaker 1: explain the theater in your home? Growing up?
[1:07:52] Speaker 2: The theater?
[1:07:54] Speaker 1: It was not growing up cold, it was later.
[1:07:57] Speaker 3: I'm asking you so you can think when she's like,
[1:08:01] Speaker 3: of course, of course we were but simple people and
[1:08:03] Speaker 3: I understand, and you're David back in big like, be honest, honest,
[1:08:07] Speaker 3: be honest, be honest. Okay, she says, we had two
[1:08:12] Speaker 3: rolls royces. This is like you being like my dad
[1:08:15] Speaker 3: was a farmer.
[1:08:16] Speaker 2: He was, he was, We were pretty squarely middle class.
[1:08:23] Speaker 2: And then as soon as they went to college on
[1:08:26] Speaker 2: scholarship with financial aid, and all the bells and whistles,
[1:08:30] Speaker 2: my parents decide to move into a house where they
[1:08:32] Speaker 2: were like, we're empty nesters. Now we're going to do
[1:08:35] Speaker 2: all these like crazy pop up now, We're gonna pop
[1:08:38] Speaker 2: up now. And they built a home theater that we
[1:08:40] Speaker 2: would then go to. So in the time that Matt
[1:08:42] Speaker 2: knew me, which was post college or college forward, he
[1:08:46] Speaker 2: was like, well, Bowen's rich because he grew up in
[1:08:47] Speaker 2: it with a home theater.
[1:08:48] Speaker 1: I just knew. He was living off campus with his
[1:08:50] Speaker 1: sister and they had a home theater, and we were
[1:08:53] Speaker 1: at NYU where everyone was rich. The first friend I made,
[1:08:56] Speaker 1: she goes, come over my apartment. I go, great, what's
[1:08:58] Speaker 1: the address? Asked replace seven aster number. I'm in the hotel.
[1:09:05] Speaker 1: I get in the hotel, I get in the elevator.
[1:09:07] Speaker 1: Who comes in Daniel Radcliffe.
[1:09:10] Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, Hi that's NYU right.
[1:09:13] Speaker 1: You can ever see that's just crazy.
[1:09:16] Speaker 3: So you It was confusing though, because you had a
[1:09:18] Speaker 3: home theater, but you were.
[1:09:20] Speaker 2: And I would cop to being wealthy if I was.
[1:09:25] Speaker 2: I was just irresponsible with my money and I was
[1:09:27] Speaker 2: like I was going crazy finishing my first season at
[1:09:30] Speaker 2: SNL shooting one season of this Comedy Central show that
[1:09:33] Speaker 2: you know, I thought was like the biggest deal. I
[1:09:36] Speaker 2: had one week off in my entire summer.
[1:09:38] Speaker 1: Was that the Jung Laser show.
[1:09:39] Speaker 2: No, No, No, It was a roached for Schmi And then
[1:09:41] Speaker 2: we shot No More from Queens Eaves on one. Yeah,
[1:09:44] Speaker 2: and I had one week off before SNL would start again,
[1:09:47] Speaker 2: and I was suddenly uncast and it was all this
[1:09:49] Speaker 2: crazy whatever like yeah, the commotion around it, and then
[1:09:54] Speaker 2: I was like, I'm going to book myself the craziest
[1:09:58] Speaker 2: billionaire vacation possible.
[1:10:00] Speaker 3: Quiet at that level, I'm I'm going to re send okay, please,
[1:10:04] Speaker 3: I like to be a rich truther, like just making
[1:10:07] Speaker 3: sure that everyone is good. But yes, so that's that's
[1:10:11] Speaker 3: a nice thing that you did.
[1:10:11] Speaker 2: And I went and I snuck a little bit of
[1:10:15] Speaker 2: acid and I was like, I went on the beach
[1:10:18] Speaker 2: and I like parked it on the beach and I
[1:10:21] Speaker 2: was like, I'm not ready for this job. I'm not
[1:10:23] Speaker 2: ready to be on camera. I took it a little
[1:10:26] Speaker 2: half type of acid. Then I'm watching Stefan on my
[1:10:29] Speaker 2: phone and I hallucinate myself on screen. Oh my god,
[1:10:34] Speaker 2: And I was like, I can do it. I'm ready.
[1:10:37] Speaker 3: This is such a good drug store.
[1:10:38] Speaker 2: It's a great story.
[1:10:39] Speaker 1: The thing about that, the thing about LSD is it
[1:10:42] Speaker 1: can work.
[1:10:43] Speaker 2: It can work.
[1:10:44] Speaker 1: It got us through a big conflict.
[1:10:46] Speaker 2: It got us through a big conflict one time. And
[1:10:47] Speaker 2: now now I don't now I now, I sheepishly, I'm like,
[1:10:49] Speaker 2: I don't think. I think I'm good on the segel.
[1:10:51] Speaker 3: I love that story that you were scared and that
[1:10:54] Speaker 3: drugs helped you get the confidence.
[1:10:55] Speaker 2: Drugs and stuff on helped me.
[1:10:56] Speaker 3: Drugs and stuff on, Yes, helped changeable. Were you on
[1:11:00] Speaker 3: this trip alone?
[1:11:01] Speaker 1: Yes? So does that?
[1:11:02] Speaker 2: I do that.
[1:11:03] Speaker 1: I love it.
[1:11:03] Speaker 3: So I have three kids under the age of eight,
[1:11:06] Speaker 3: so I'd like to go someplace that has like a
[1:11:09] Speaker 3: it's kid friendly. Yes, but I can like leave them
[1:11:11] Speaker 3: somewhere and then go do spa stuff by myself.
[1:11:14] Speaker 1: You know What's funny? Like I we I end up
[1:11:17] Speaker 1: randomly going to I'm sure it's not random. I'm sure
[1:11:20] Speaker 1: I get inspired when I see white Lotus and then
[1:11:22] Speaker 1: I'm like, I want to I want to go to there.
[1:11:24] Speaker 1: Oh yeah, but but uh two years in a row
[1:11:28] Speaker 1: now I've done. I ended up going to sicily after
[1:11:30] Speaker 1: them and now tailand after that.
[1:11:32] Speaker 3: You know what, I respect that I am not. I've
[1:11:34] Speaker 3: spent so much creativity in my life that I am
[1:11:37] Speaker 3: going to be very basic about vacations. I see people
[1:11:40] Speaker 3: go to Osaka and get a burken bag. I am
[1:11:42] Speaker 3: going there.
[1:11:42] Speaker 1: Then where you can too.
[1:11:44] Speaker 3: When there's something trendy, like there, did you know there's
[1:11:46] Speaker 3: a seventh Hawaiian Island? You gotta go there. There's a
[1:11:49] Speaker 3: new place. I'm going to go there, Like I'm just
[1:11:51] Speaker 3: I think it's okay. We spent a lot of times
[1:11:54] Speaker 3: trying to come up with new ways to be original,
[1:11:56] Speaker 3: and you can just go on the on the whatever
[1:11:58] Speaker 3: this season is, I'm going to go to God, but
[1:12:00] Speaker 3: we'll go town after this season of Yes.
[1:12:10] Speaker 1: Honestly great, it was wonderful.
[1:12:13] Speaker 2: It was wonderful.
[1:12:14] Speaker 1: It was wonderful.
[1:12:14] Speaker 2: We just got really we just had to like hob
[1:12:16] Speaker 2: nob with like we read Can Lion.
[1:12:18] Speaker 3: Oh that's the one with It's like the marketing.
[1:12:21] Speaker 2: It's like the marketing people.
[1:12:23] Speaker 3: It's like a couple. It's like a month after.
[1:12:26] Speaker 2: It's like a few weeks after Can and it's just
[1:12:29] Speaker 2: like all right, you gotta stay up till two and
[1:12:31] Speaker 2: go to the Spotify beach party.
[1:12:33] Speaker 1: It's giving Spotify beach party with everyone that has the
[1:12:38] Speaker 1: money for work.
[1:12:39] Speaker 2: It was for last year, is for me, c sentis
[1:12:42] Speaker 2: for culture where its last year to like explain to
[1:12:44] Speaker 2: people like what the what the we were doing?
[1:12:46] Speaker 1: Oh my god we went with cookingula or now who
[1:12:50] Speaker 1: have now imploded on summer house?
[1:12:51] Speaker 3: Okay? Yes?
[1:12:52] Speaker 2: And how they're gay, Like we had a grand time
[1:12:56] Speaker 2: from Salt Lake City, but it was like every inch
[1:12:58] Speaker 2: of that town is covered in inactivation.
[1:13:00] Speaker 3: It was in a way that is fun.
[1:13:02] Speaker 2: I wouldn't say that, you know what, I'd like to
[1:13:05] Speaker 2: be invited back.
[1:13:07] Speaker 3: I think that that that one is either there's you
[1:13:11] Speaker 3: can still there's like yacht culture is still a big
[1:13:13] Speaker 3: part of it, right.
[1:13:14] Speaker 1: Yes, sure, yes, Well I didn't know anything about yacht culture,
[1:13:18] Speaker 1: and so I started dating Fraser and then I really
[1:13:21] Speaker 1: realized that it really is a whole thing. Like there's
[1:13:24] Speaker 1: people our friend Abe knows the name of like every
[1:13:28] Speaker 1: yacht in the world, and like who owns it and
[1:13:30] Speaker 1: how big they are. It's like a real thing.
[1:13:33] Speaker 3: That's the part I mean, that's where I like, i
[1:13:36] Speaker 3: feel like I'm famous, but not yacht famous. Where you're
[1:13:39] Speaker 3: going on like the Geffen God or the Bezos yacht
[1:13:43] Speaker 3: or like you know, like Seth. You're friends with Seth Myers.
[1:13:47] Speaker 3: Seth is I think he's always on, like a Barry
[1:13:49] Speaker 3: Diller yacht.
[1:13:50] Speaker 1: I feel like he's always Cohen told me he went
[1:13:52] Speaker 1: on the yacht.
[1:13:53] Speaker 3: Yeah, I bet Seth was there in mid Alexi.
[1:13:56] Speaker 1: You're just there all confront him.
[1:13:59] Speaker 3: Just can Yeah, I heard I think Seth was at
[1:14:05] Speaker 3: the I think BJ hosted the pen gala and Seth
[1:14:08] Speaker 3: was there in the right up of it. They said
[1:14:10] Speaker 3: that Seth was looking especially handsome always yeah, but there
[1:14:16] Speaker 3: might have been something. Well, I just really people are
[1:14:23] Speaker 3: always accusing me of this stuff. I want to accuse someone.
[1:14:25] Speaker 1: Let start accusing me of Seth Myers. We've noticed all
[1:14:28] Speaker 1: the work.
[1:14:29] Speaker 3: We just you're looking good.
[1:14:30] Speaker 1: Would you get a.
[1:14:31] Speaker 2: Frack soul and you got a little Farrah tell us.
[1:14:36] Speaker 1: Well lit little that. Yeah.
[1:14:38] Speaker 3: No one can just enjoy a compliment. It has to
[1:14:40] Speaker 3: be there has to be something behind it, a little accusation.
[1:14:43] Speaker 1: The accusation put them on their heels.
[1:14:46] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[1:14:46] Speaker 1: Speaking of being on your heels, audience is about to
[1:14:49] Speaker 1: be on their heels. It's time to transition to the
[1:14:51] Speaker 1: segment we are super famous for. I don't think so honey.
[1:14:58] Speaker 1: So this is a one minute screed where we just
[1:15:03] Speaker 1: kind of go off on something in culture. I've chosen
[1:15:07] Speaker 1: food culture today fabulous. This came up earlier and I realized, Wow,
[1:15:12] Speaker 1: I've never liked this, and I'm gonna explore how much
[1:15:14] Speaker 1: I don't.
[1:15:15] Speaker 3: I'm so excited like this.
[1:15:17] Speaker 2: I don't think somebody's time starts now.
[1:15:19] Speaker 1: I don't think so honey. Barrata It's like, that's not
[1:15:24] Speaker 1: a salad. It's a gooey mess. And this is not
[1:15:28] Speaker 1: how I like my cheese to be. The arugula is
[1:15:32] Speaker 1: not my favorite piece of salad. It's not my favorite
[1:15:35] Speaker 1: salad category. And then the balsamic drizzle, no, thank you,
[1:15:39] Speaker 1: just together. I am not into it. Also, tomatoes, you
[1:15:43] Speaker 1: know that I was that kid that hated tomatoes so much.
[1:15:45] Speaker 1: I told waiters I was allergic. It didn't matter that.
[1:15:48] Speaker 1: I then was like, I'll have the passama gread.
[1:15:51] Speaker 2: No.
[1:15:51] Speaker 1: I didn't want to see tomatoes. I don't like an
[1:15:53] Speaker 1: heirloom tomato. No, the barrata moment, it's ouhi, it's gooey.
[1:15:58] Speaker 1: It's not for me. I really feel as though here's
[1:16:02] Speaker 1: a list of other salads that you gotta get. Okay,
[1:16:06] Speaker 1: little jam, Yeah, up Jam. I also want to just
[1:16:11] Speaker 1: say I am having a Caesar revolution talking about Julius.

[1:16:52] Speaker 3: Really growth chicken cold, and the chicken is hot.
[1:16:55] Speaker 1: The salad is cold, the chicken is hot, exactly how
[1:16:58] Speaker 1: it should be. We we did not have medium. Wow,
[1:17:04] Speaker 1: it was really really really good. And what else?
[1:17:06] Speaker 2: The fries were good, Yeah, fries were great. You know
[1:17:09] Speaker 2: the fries are good if it's on the menu as
[1:17:11] Speaker 2: pumfree palm free.
[1:17:12] Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[1:17:13] Speaker 3: You know the thing about that commissary is like, you'll
[1:17:16] Speaker 3: be like, holy shit, you'll see someone Yeah, Jack Black, Yeah, yeah.
[1:17:23] Speaker 1: Is that a minion?
[1:17:24] Speaker 2: Yeah? Amazing?
[1:17:27] Speaker 1: Rocket hit a minion at Universal? Actually a retal Culture
[1:17:29] Speaker 1: number fifteen. You throw a rocket, hit a million at Universal,
[1:17:33] Speaker 1: and I bet they would be so hilarious getting hit
[1:17:35] Speaker 1: by a rock too. They're so funny the minion. Watch
[1:17:39] Speaker 1: the Culture Awards tonight on NBC. Okay, so that's mine.

[1:17:46] Speaker 3: Guys, so excited. This is I feel I can I
[1:17:49] Speaker 3: just I love this. I feel so happy to be
[1:17:52] Speaker 3: here and.
[1:17:52] Speaker 2: Seeing we love this is perfect vibe. I love it.
[1:17:56] Speaker 2: We adore anytime allowed, and I knew we would have
[1:18:00] Speaker 2: much fun with you too.
[1:18:01] Speaker 3: This is really nice. Okay, I can't wait for this.
[1:18:03] Speaker 1: Okay, Bowen, are you ready?
[1:18:05] Speaker 2: Yeah?
[1:18:05] Speaker 1: This is Bowen Yang's I don't think so, honey. His
[1:18:07] Speaker 1: time starts now.
[1:18:08] Speaker 2: I don't think so, honey. That little greasy spot on
[1:18:11] Speaker 2: the space bar, which is usually on the right, Oh
[1:18:14] Speaker 2: my god, what the fuck are we doing? Why aren't
[1:18:16] Speaker 2: we Why is there no international law against using the
[1:18:22] Speaker 2: same plastic on all the space bars and every single
[1:18:25] Speaker 2: keyboard in the world. I'm going do I have extra
[1:18:30] Speaker 2: glands on this thing? Why is that the spot? Why
[1:18:34] Speaker 2: does it? Why does it go on the right spot?
[1:18:36] Speaker 2: I guess I'm being told seconds you're kind of smoothing
[1:18:41] Speaker 2: it out, You're taking out the texture because of the
[1:18:44] Speaker 2: contact you make with it over time. Well, why haven't
[1:18:46] Speaker 2: we figured out a different material? Can we make a
[1:18:50] Speaker 2: glass keyboard? I would love something that we could just tacitly,
[1:18:54] Speaker 2: wipe down and call it a day. I don't understand
[1:18:57] Speaker 2: this kind of I don't understand this kind of plastic.
[1:19:00] Speaker 2: I don't really have anything else to add, but it's
[1:19:02] Speaker 2: just it's I'm seconded by the notion that we must
[1:19:05] Speaker 2: all think that we're it's this one imperfection on the
[1:19:08] Speaker 2: keyboard sometimes that you just you can't wipe off. I mean,
[1:19:11] Speaker 2: I hate it.
[1:19:11] Speaker 1: I don't think so, honey. Isn't it incredible we're in
[1:19:14] Speaker 1: space in all different kinds of ways. They they're talking
[1:19:16] Speaker 1: about landing on Mars and.
[1:19:19] Speaker 2: We can't get the space.
[1:19:22] Speaker 1: It is gross, it's disgusting.
[1:19:25] Speaker 3: It's disgusting, it's too and you.
[1:19:28] Speaker 1: Know it came from it's from you.
[1:19:30] Speaker 3: Logical.
[1:19:31] Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't want to.
[1:19:31] Speaker 3: Be reminded of it all it's great. I don't and
[1:19:34] Speaker 3: why can't we it. I'm not going to clean my keyboard.
[1:19:37] Speaker 3: It should be done for me.
[1:19:39] Speaker 1: Well we we also were saying our friend Aaron Jackson
[1:19:41] Speaker 1: came in and did it. I don't think so, Honey.
[1:19:43] Speaker 1: The kitchen is always dirty, it's never clean. It's like
[1:19:47] Speaker 1: that with the keyboard too. This is another epidemic, epidemic.
[1:19:51] Speaker 1: This is really crazy what happens with the keyboard. And
[1:19:55] Speaker 1: you don't want to admit it, but it's it's it's
[1:20:00] Speaker 1: human dust and oils. It's human dust, oils and biological matter.
[1:20:04] Speaker 2: Yeah, thank you. I just had to. I really had
[1:20:07] Speaker 2: to say that. I check that keyboard, Doug. What is histulations?
[1:20:14] Speaker 1: None.
[1:20:15] Speaker 2: Here's what I have to do now is I have
[1:20:18] Speaker 2: to go on a website and buy a keyboard cover,
[1:20:23] Speaker 2: a plastic Yes, I have a plastic keyboard cover. And
[1:20:26] Speaker 2: then I have to buy little double sided stickers so
[1:20:30] Speaker 2: that I can and he's the cover to the keyboards.
[1:20:34] Speaker 3: You shouldn't have to do that. No, I work hard,
[1:20:38] Speaker 3: you know.
[1:20:38] Speaker 1: What I mean, Michelle? Do it?
[1:20:40] Speaker 2: Michelle?
[1:20:43] Speaker 1: Okay, wait no, I really do get like really excited though,
[1:20:47] Speaker 1: when I take an antibacterial wipe and just go over
[1:20:49] Speaker 1: the whole computer. I feel like my entire apartment is clean.
[1:20:52] Speaker 3: I've never once cleaned my computer. Oh no, it's I
[1:20:55] Speaker 3: don't know why I just said that. It's so disgusting,
[1:20:58] Speaker 3: but it's true.
[1:20:59] Speaker 1: Maybe tonight, maybe tonight.
[1:21:01] Speaker 3: Probably not like I said maybe tonight, knowing I would
[1:21:04] Speaker 3: never mean it. Just throw it out and just get
[1:21:07] Speaker 3: another one.
[1:21:08] Speaker 2: In the computer.
[1:21:09] Speaker 1: Yeah, it it is probably time. It's always kind of time.
[1:21:12] Speaker 3: It's always kind of time, you know, getting a new
[1:21:14] Speaker 3: final draft update?
[1:21:16] Speaker 1: Okay, can we say final draft is the worst?
[1:21:19] Speaker 3: What's worst final drafts for picks?
[1:21:23] Speaker 1: I think Final Draft because I used to use Celtex instead.
[1:21:27] Speaker 3: Because when the update comes, you need the password and
[1:21:30] Speaker 3: you haven't had it's it's awful.
[1:21:33] Speaker 2: The cloud thing doesn't really work if you want to
[1:21:35] Speaker 2: open it up on your phone, like forget it. We
[1:21:37] Speaker 2: used to use writer Duet because it was a Google
[1:21:40] Speaker 2: doc because you get to go because it was like
[1:21:43] Speaker 2: a Google doc thing where you just wrote at the
[1:21:45] Speaker 2: same time you can see what the other person was
[1:21:46] Speaker 2: typing from their computer.
[1:21:47] Speaker 3: It's nice.
[1:21:48] Speaker 1: We wrote our two person drag play Night Soap.
[1:21:52] Speaker 2: It was writers Ben.
[1:21:54] Speaker 3: It sounds fabulous. Great name for software, right, write a
[1:21:58] Speaker 3: writer or do at So it's made for two people
[1:22:00] Speaker 3: writing together.
[1:22:01] Speaker 1: Or however many whoa Yeah, it's just just just getting
[1:22:04] Speaker 1: a writer, quartet or whatever the three is. Trio Yeah, yeah,
[1:22:10] Speaker 1: I was ready to go quintet, sextet, all of them.
[1:22:13] Speaker 1: There you go, But I lost trio until now it
[1:22:16] Speaker 1: was there. Trio was kind of a wild secretaries in
[1:22:18] Speaker 1: my mind. Got the file?
[1:22:19] Speaker 2: Yeah, really good. It's time for our guests to have
[1:22:23] Speaker 2: her secretaries of her mind get the file.
[1:22:25] Speaker 1: To rifle through the cabinets. Okay, this are you ready? Yes,
[1:22:29] Speaker 1: this is Mindy Kaling's I don't think so, honey. Her
[1:22:32] Speaker 1: time starts now.
[1:22:34] Speaker 3: Okay, I don't think so, honey. People who knock on
[1:22:37] Speaker 3: a door like this, no, no, no, you are a cornball.
[1:22:46] Speaker 1: Oh my normal.
[1:22:48] Speaker 3: Do not knock at me like that.
[1:22:50] Speaker 1: It's crazy.
[1:22:51] Speaker 2: That is crazy.
[1:22:52] Speaker 1: Okay.
[1:22:53] Speaker 3: When you knock on the door like that, it just
[1:22:55] Speaker 3: reveals how different our world views are. You think that
[1:22:59] Speaker 3: knocking on the door should be an expression of self? No,
[1:23:03] Speaker 3: that it should just be functionality. There should not be Also,
[1:23:06] Speaker 3: why did you think that my reaction was going to
[1:23:08] Speaker 3: be on the other side of the door. I was
[1:23:10] Speaker 3: gonna be like Oh, that's like a funny person on
[1:23:13] Speaker 3: the other side of the door. I like that person.
[1:23:15] Speaker 1: They're a real joke. Start.
[1:23:17] Speaker 3: No, there's only one acceptable way to knock, and that's this.
[1:23:22] Speaker 3: If you're the FBI, you knock seven times and you
[1:23:25] Speaker 3: kick the door down when you don't do that, when
[1:23:28] Speaker 3: was that first funny in like the nineteen twenties, for
[1:23:30] Speaker 3: like a month when you could do that and people
[1:23:32] Speaker 3: are like, that's cool. If you knock like this, I
[1:23:37] Speaker 3: cannot if you have. If you knock like that, you're
[1:23:40] Speaker 3: dentiny and.
[1:23:41] Speaker 1: That's wow wow. And you know when you reached over,
[1:23:46] Speaker 1: I was like, please do.
[1:23:49] Speaker 2: You please do it? And then shave spiral for months.
[1:23:54] Speaker 3: It is why, Like you wonder like when someone does that,
[1:23:57] Speaker 3: Like I'm at the doctor and I just like, I'm sitting.
[1:24:00] Speaker 3: If you're in, then you're sitting in your gown and
[1:24:03] Speaker 3: then you hear somebody knocking. I'm not in the mood
[1:24:06] Speaker 3: for this.
[1:24:07] Speaker 1: Not a fun nurse not coming in with the knock.
[1:24:10] Speaker 2: But you've seen this out in the wild. You really haven't.
[1:24:14] Speaker 2: I know that.
[1:24:15] Speaker 1: I don't believe you.
[1:24:15] Speaker 3: I mean, it's and I love first ads.
[1:24:18] Speaker 1: It's a real first or is so on set.
[1:24:21] Speaker 3: It's a it's a version of the lady God.
[1:24:25] Speaker 1: Remember we used to say an O my lady gay
[1:24:28] Speaker 1: and like like a gay that wears a boat. I'm
[1:24:31] Speaker 1: gonna tell you what we're talking about. After you you'll.
[1:24:33] Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like you know, and this this is like
[1:24:36] Speaker 3: it's like the person who does this accent and we're
[1:24:41] Speaker 3: not talking Connor story accents right where you're like, I
[1:24:44] Speaker 3: love this. It's like a little malady. I feel like,
[1:24:48] Speaker 3: especially when we're in comedy, it's like there's a time
[1:24:51] Speaker 3: and place for this and this is not.
[1:24:53] Speaker 2: Of course, someone online pointed out that the only this
[1:24:58] Speaker 2: this kind of knock only happens on film and television.
[1:25:02] Speaker 2: In film and television, knock, knock, knock, someone's saying the
[1:25:05] Speaker 2: words knock, knock, knock while they're knocking on the door.
[1:25:08] Speaker 1: That's so foolish.
[1:25:10] Speaker 3: Get penalty if that.
[1:25:11] Speaker 2: I've never encountered that in real life. I've knock knock
[1:25:14] Speaker 2: like I kind of like to do it.
[1:25:20] Speaker 1: I think, did I break them old?
[1:25:22] Speaker 3: I believe you, But now I'm like, should you do it?
[1:25:25] Speaker 1: Knock knock knock? You know what I really want to
[1:25:28] Speaker 1: be this sitcom neighbor knock knock Knock. I really feel
[1:25:34] Speaker 1: I missed my opportunity to be on a nineties sitcom
[1:25:37] Speaker 1: where I come in, where I come in like at
[1:25:40] Speaker 1: the end of act one and bring just just like
[1:25:45] Speaker 1: off kilter chaos, I think.
[1:25:49] Speaker 3: Straight. The problem is is you, guys are too hot
[1:25:51] Speaker 3: now to be the.
[1:25:52] Speaker 1: Character that it's huge to hear.
[1:25:56] Speaker 3: It's not credible, Like for you being like knock.
[1:25:59] Speaker 1: Knocked, I'm incredibly goofy neighbors. Knock knock knock.
[1:26:02] Speaker 3: You the voice, the voice, the face you're It's like,
[1:26:07] Speaker 3: I got it. You're giving character actor, but the rest
[1:26:10] Speaker 3: is not giving character actor.
[1:26:12] Speaker 2: Guys, I'm a character actor down, It's so fine.
[1:26:17] Speaker 1: Nolua a model is characterized.
[1:26:20] Speaker 2: That's me, a louayve a model. Wait wait, there's one thing.
[1:26:24] Speaker 2: There's one thing. I lost it. There's knock knock knock. Damn.
[1:26:30] Speaker 1: What is there another style of greeting that you're like, no, yeah,
[1:26:34] Speaker 1: well there's not a content. There's hello my lady. Oh god,
[1:26:38] Speaker 1: it makes my pelvic floor want to run away.
[1:26:41] Speaker 2: Damn.
[1:26:44] Speaker 3: Yeah.
[1:26:45] Speaker 1: Like it's very and I say this. I say this
[1:26:49] Speaker 1: with love for myself. It's Disney gay and I'm okay
[1:26:54] Speaker 1: with it.
[1:26:54] Speaker 2: Yeah, can I.
[1:26:55] Speaker 3: Can you guys tell me about Disney gay because I
[1:26:58] Speaker 3: have I have a great friend Justine Noble, who you
[1:27:00] Speaker 3: guys might know. I just think he's a self described
[1:27:04] Speaker 3: Disney gay. But he is a person I respect, and
[1:27:08] Speaker 3: he's smart and with integrity, but he loves Disney. He
[1:27:11] Speaker 3: was like writing in the lobby of the Grand Californian,
[1:27:13] Speaker 3: and so I kind of say, I hope that's okay
[1:27:16] Speaker 3: for me to say, but it is so funny.
[1:27:18] Speaker 1: I identify I identify as like a semi ironic Disney gay.
[1:27:23] Speaker 2: Okay, you have I think Matt and I would and
[1:27:27] Speaker 2: and I would say Justin has a dimension of Disney gay. Yeah,
[1:27:31] Speaker 2: there are Disney gays who are.
[1:27:35] Speaker 1: Like, here's my collection of stencils of Goofy and it's like, okay,
[1:27:40] Speaker 1: all right, and then there's it's it's like it's.
[1:27:42] Speaker 2: Like for real, yes, yeah, yeah, yeah.
[1:27:44] Speaker 1: And well, by the way, Fraser says he can't believe
[1:27:47] Speaker 1: I'm dating someone with this interest.
[1:27:49] Speaker 2: Is that's fine.
[1:27:51] Speaker 1: I understand it hasn't been yet. He actually doesn't even know.
[1:27:54] Speaker 3: What would You've never been to any Disney.
[1:27:57] Speaker 1: No, you haven't been.
[1:27:59] Speaker 2: It's with a headpiece with ears and a pack. It
[1:28:03] Speaker 2: is not something I'll accept.
[1:28:04] Speaker 3: And whoa something except he said it like that. It
[1:28:09] Speaker 3: was like you should be ashamed of yourself. Don't make
[1:28:12] Speaker 3: him do that.
[1:28:13] Speaker 1: I know. Like, but he's gonna have fun against his
[1:28:16] Speaker 1: every instinct.
[1:28:17] Speaker 2: That it's not the requirement though, you know what I mean, Like,
[1:28:19] Speaker 2: no one's forcing you to wear to wear that. I
[1:28:21] Speaker 2: understand what you're saying. That's what I associate with the
[1:28:23] Speaker 2: Disney adults.
[1:28:24] Speaker 1: Yeah, but we're not. Yeah, yeah, but that's not I
[1:28:27] Speaker 1: can't you know what though, we can't say we don't
[1:28:28] Speaker 1: wear the clothes because in Tokyo Disney, see, while we're
[1:28:31] Speaker 1: we wearing it was really fun full head hats because
[1:28:35] Speaker 1: it was January, was cold, it was it was practical.
[1:28:37] Speaker 3: You guys are Disney Gays.
[1:28:39] Speaker 2: We like to go to the parks. Okay, believe it
[1:28:42] Speaker 2: at that.
[1:28:43] Speaker 1: We had a wonderful time in Disneyland, Paris Harris.
[1:28:46] Speaker 3: That's that's chic.
[1:28:47] Speaker 1: They let you drink wine there because they don't let
[1:28:50] Speaker 1: you drink it in the other.
[1:28:52] Speaker 3: Yeah, they kind of don't.
[1:28:54] Speaker 2: Right, Yeah, they're they're changing their ways about that.
[1:28:58] Speaker 3: Yes, they're the California Adventure. Hey, I was about to
[1:29:02] Speaker 3: be so boring. Who cares. I'm not going to tell you,
[1:29:04] Speaker 3: like what I know about the rules about alcohol? It Didney, like,
[1:29:06] Speaker 3: nobody cares.
[1:29:07] Speaker 1: California Adventure. You can, but yeah, I don't let me
[1:29:10] Speaker 1: take it. I don't know. Empathetic, I don't want to know.
[1:29:15] Speaker 3: I don't want to.
[1:29:16] Speaker 1: Yeah, no, it's trust me. You're better off at the Aman.
[1:29:21] Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, we hope that for you.
[1:29:24] Speaker 1: We'll go to the ama Yara instead. Altogether, I feel
[1:29:27] Speaker 1: like this episode has been like a wonderful vacation.
[1:29:30] Speaker 3: It has felt that way. I love it. I'm sad
[1:29:32] Speaker 3: to leave.
[1:29:33] Speaker 1: I mean, listen, this has been so great and I
[1:29:38] Speaker 1: really did. I was like, again, we're on the day
[1:29:42] Speaker 1: of the Cultural Awards, and I was thinking about, like
[1:29:45] Speaker 1: just how amazing we felt that the camera just panned
[1:29:49] Speaker 1: in there you were, and you've always been one of
[1:29:50] Speaker 1: our favorites. And this has been so much fun and
[1:29:54] Speaker 1: we just love you.
[1:29:55] Speaker 3: I feel honored, thank you so much. It was really special.
[1:29:59] Speaker 3: I hope I can come back again.
[1:30:01] Speaker 1: Oh please, You've been put in the regular rotation and
[1:30:04] Speaker 1: by the way, not suitable before streaming now.
[1:30:07] Speaker 2: Hulu which is now which now has the same parent
[1:30:11] Speaker 2: company as Fox, which is what mindy product was on
[1:30:14] Speaker 2: before and isn't isn't that interesting?
[1:30:18] Speaker 3: It is interesting? You really you know this stuff what.
[1:30:22] Speaker 2: I'm saying, But like, isn't that funny?
[1:30:23] Speaker 1: How it moved to Hulu? Well, he loves vertical integration.
[1:30:27] Speaker 1: He's really passionate about it. He's really You should have
[1:30:30] Speaker 1: seen him at the upfront. Was lit up. He was like,
[1:30:33] Speaker 1: where can I learn? I love consolidation.
[1:30:36] Speaker 3: No, it is true. That's a good point because I
