[0:00] Thank you for tuning into this message by David Entry.
[0:04] Every true revival is a product of the strong preaching of God's word.
[0:08] ! May you receive a word from this message that will spark a revival in you.
[0:14] John chapter 20, I'll read from verse 1 all the way through verse 9.
[0:24] Then I'll read John chapter 2.
[0:26] John chapter 20 from verse 1 says that,
[0:30] The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early,
[0:34] when it was yet dark unto the sepulchre,
[0:38] and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre.
[0:42] Then she runneth and cometh to Simon Peter,
[0:47] and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved,
[0:50] and said unto them,
[0:51] They have taken away the Lord out of the tomb,
[0:55] and we know not where they have laid him.
[0:59] Peter therefore went forth,
[1:02] and the other disciple then came to the sepulchre.
[1:05] So they ran both together,
[1:08] and the other disciple did outrun Peter,
[1:10] and came first to the sepulchre.
[1:12] And he stood up and looking in,
[1:15] saw the linen clothes lying,
[1:18] yet went he not in.
[1:20] Then cometh Simon Peter following him,
[1:22] and went into the sepulchre,
[1:24] and saw the linen clothes lying.
[1:25] And the napkin that was about his head,
[1:30] not lying with the linen cloth,
[1:33] but wrapped together in a place by itself.
[1:38] Then went in also the other disciple,
[1:41] which came first to the sepulchre,
[1:44] and he saw and believed.
[1:46] For as yet,
[1:48] they knew not the scripture,
[1:51] that he must rise again from the dead.
[1:59] The second reading is John chapter 2,
[2:03] verse 18 to 23.
[2:05] Verse 18,
[2:06] Then answered the Jews and said unto him,
[2:11] What sign should we be unto us,
[2:14] seeing that thou doest these things?
[2:18] Jesus answered and said unto them,
[2:20] Destroy this temple,
[2:22] and in three days I will raise it up.
[2:24] Then said the Jews,
[2:26] Forty and six years was this temple in building,
[2:30] and will thou raise it up in three days?
[2:33] But he speak of the temple of his body.
[2:36] When therefore he was raised from the dead,
[2:40] his disciples remembered that he has said this unto them,
[2:45] and they believed the scripture,
[2:47] and the word which Jesus has said.
[2:50] Here ends the reading of God's holy word.
[2:53] Let's pray.
[2:54] Oh Father,
[2:55] thank you for bringing us together.
[2:59] What we don't know,
[3:01] teach us.
[3:02] Where we are not yet,
[3:05] take us.
[3:08] Who we are not yet,
[3:10] make us.
[3:12] All to the praise and glory of your holy name.
[3:18] Lord,
[3:18] may the words of my mouth,
[3:21] and the meditations of my heart,
[3:25] be acceptable to you.
[3:26] As I speak and preach concerning the resurrection,
[3:29] let illumination and revelation dawn.
[3:34] Amen.
[3:35] Let the resurrection power have,
[3:38] take effect in our lives.
[3:40] Amen.
[3:40] To the glory of your name.
[3:42] In Jesus' name.
[3:44] Amen.
[3:45] Amen.
[3:46] Amen.
[3:47] Praise God.
[3:48] Hallelujah.
[3:49] Well,
[3:50] today we had quite a few scriptures read.
[3:52] And they are all pointing to the resurrection,
[3:57] because there are so many scriptures,
[4:00] or texts in scripture,
[4:02] telling us about his resurrection.
[4:06] So many texts in scripture.
[4:10] And we saw how in Matthew chapter 27,
[4:16] from verse 57 downwards,
[4:18] the high priests and their cohorts
[4:21] came to the governing authority,
[4:25] who was Pontius Pilate,
[4:26] and demanded that he should make the tomb secured,
[4:31] and send guards to guard it.
[4:34] Because that malefactor,
[4:37] that criminal,
[4:38] when he was alive,
[4:39] he said he will rise again.
[4:41] We are afraid that his disciples
[4:43] will go and steal the body.
[4:47] Will go and steal the body,
[4:48] and claim he resurrected.
[4:51] So,
[4:52] guard the tomb.
[4:53] Then in Matthew chapter 28,
[4:58] when he resurrected,
[5:00] Bible says that,
[5:01] the soldiers went and told the elders,
[5:04] that we've got a problem in our hands.
[5:07] There was an earthquake.
[5:08] The stone which no one person cannot roll away.
[5:10] Very heavy,
[5:11] so you need about 20 men to roll it away.
[5:13] The stone was rolled away,
[5:15] and the guy came out of it.
[5:16] Well,
[5:17] he's not there.
[5:18] So,
[5:19] what we saw in Matthew chapter 28,
[5:22] the leaders bribed the soldiers,
[5:23] and they said to them,
[5:26] tell everybody,
[5:27] that his disciples,
[5:28] whilst we were asleep,
[5:30] on duty,
[5:31] his disciples,
[5:32] he said,
[5:33] say ye,
[5:34] his disciples came by night,
[5:36] and stole him away,
[5:38] while we,
[5:39] soldiers on duty,
[5:41] while they slept.
[5:43] All of them slept.
[5:44] So,
[5:46] Bible says,
[5:47] unfortunately,
[5:47] verse 14,
[5:48] says that,
[5:49] and if the governor is upset about it,
[5:52] we will sort him out.
[5:53] This is a political issue.
[5:54] We will sort him out.
[5:55] Don't worry.
[5:55] Don't worry about the governor.
[5:56] We will sort him out.
[5:57] And Bible says that,
[5:58] the next verse says that,
[5:59] and this was reported,
[6:00] so they took the money,
[6:01] and then they went and said,
[6:02] as it was.
[6:03] And this saying,
[6:04] is commonly reported,
[6:06] among the Jews,
[6:07] on today,
[6:08] that they will risk their lives,
[6:10] by lying,
[6:11] that Jesus resurrected.
[6:13] It's so preposterous,
[6:14] that 11 men,
[6:15] who say,
[6:16] let's come out with a plan.
[6:17] Let's go and steal,
[6:18] the body,
[6:19] from soldiers,
[6:21] trained soldiers.
[6:22] Let's go and steal the body,
[6:24] and in the morning,
[6:25] and let's steal the body,
[6:26] and we don't go,
[6:27] what are we going to get?
[6:28] We are going to get hatred.
[6:30] They will persecute us,
[6:31] and they will brutally murder us,
[6:33] for stealing the body,
[6:34] and claiming that it's alive.
[6:36] What's sinning for us?
[6:37] But unfortunately,
[6:38] some people believe that.
[6:40] Now,
[6:41] the resurrection of Christ,
[6:42] is so central to Christianity,
[6:45] that,
[6:46] there cannot be salvation,
[6:48] without the belief,
[6:50] in the resurrection.
[6:51] It is the death of Christ,
[6:53] that procures our redemption.
[6:55] He died on the cross,
[6:57] and he procured our redemption.
[6:58] But it's the resurrection of Christ,
[7:01] that validated the work of the cross.
[7:03] And so,
[7:04] there are a few points,
[7:05] I wrote here,
[7:05] which I want to bring to your attention.
[7:07] Number one is that,
[7:08] in Acts chapter 1,
[7:10] verse 3,
[7:11] when Jesus resurrected,
[7:12] verse 3 clearly tells us that,
[7:14] he showed himself alive.
[7:17] Wow!
[7:18] To whom he showed himself alive,
[7:21] after the passion,
[7:22] the passion is the suffering.
[7:24] He showed himself alive,
[7:26] by many infallible,
[7:28] undeniable proofs.
[7:31] So,
[7:32] someone would say,
[7:33] maybe it's hallucination,
[7:34] for 40 days.
[7:35] Over 500 people,
[7:37] were having hallucinations,
[7:38] for 40 days.
[7:40] Come on,
[7:40] let's be a little bit scientific,
[7:42] and rational,
[7:43] objective,
[7:44] infallible,
[7:45] in other words,
[7:46] proof that you can't deny.
[7:48] He ate with them,
[7:49] he actually ate with them.
[7:51] It wasn't a spirit,
[7:52] or a ghost.
[7:54] It was a physical body,
[7:55] that could eat fish.
[7:57] In Acts chapter 10,
[7:59] verse 40 and 41,
[8:00] it says that,
[8:01] he ate with us.
[8:03] It says that,
[8:04] not to all the,
[8:05] not to,
[8:06] but to witnesses chosen before of God,
[8:08] even us,
[8:09] who did eat,
[8:11] and drink with him,
[8:13] after he rose from the dead?
[8:16] After,
[8:16] we actually ate with him.
[8:17] We sat down,
[8:18] we had a conversation.
[8:19] He was eating.
[8:20] We were eating.
[8:21] He ate what we ate.
[8:23] So,
[8:23] there were too many,
[8:24] proofs,
[8:26] that they would rather,
[8:28] deny their common sense,
[8:30] if they say,
[8:30] he didn't live.
[8:31] That's why,
[8:32] they said,
[8:32] deny he resurrected,
[8:34] and we'll let you go.
[8:34] He said,
[8:35] sorry,
[8:35] I can't deny it.
[8:36] And,
[8:37] besides the fact that,
[8:38] their conscience,
[8:39] could not allow them to deny it.
[8:40] Also,
[8:41] their power of the resurrection,
[8:43] has invaded their life so much,
[8:45] that,
[8:45] they were not afraid to die anymore.
[8:47] So,
[8:48] you want to kill me,
[8:49] for the fact that,
[8:50] my master rose,
[8:51] and I'm also going to write,
[8:53] okay,
[8:53] go on,
[8:54] bring it on,
[8:55] bring it on.
[8:55] So,
[8:56] they never feared execution,
[8:57] because of their testimony.
[8:59] If you're going to execute them,
[9:00] because of their testimony,
[9:02] they said,
[9:02] bring it on.
[9:03] And so,
[9:04] the resurrection of Jesus,
[9:05] was so much,
[9:07] part,
[9:08] was part of their message,
[9:09] and it's part of Christianity.
[9:10] In 1 Corinthians chapter 15,
[9:12] verse 5 to 8,
[9:14] it speaks about,
[9:15] over 500 people see him.
[9:17] And then,
[9:17] verse 5 says that,
[9:18] he was seen by Cephas,
[9:20] and then,
[9:22] by the 12,
[9:24] by the 12.
[9:25] Then,
[9:26] the next verse says that,
[9:28] after that,
[9:29] he was seen by over 500 brethren at once,
[9:33] of whom the greater parts remain to this present,
[9:38] but some have fallen asleep.
[9:40] So,
[9:41] a lot of them are alive.
[9:42] Over 300 of them,
[9:43] over 400 of them were still alive,
[9:45] at the time this record was being presented.
[9:48] So,
[9:48] he says that,
[9:49] if I was lying,
[9:50] they would have been here to tell,
[9:51] check with them.
[9:52] Over 500 people saw him alive.
[9:55] They saw him.
[9:56] It's not like,
[9:56] they had a dream.
[9:57] They saw him.
[9:59] And then,
[9:59] he says that,
[10:00] then,
[10:00] this is Paul talking,
[10:02] and the next verse says that,
[10:04] after that,
[10:04] he was seen by James,
[10:06] then by all the apostles,
[10:09] then finally by me,
[10:11] myself,
[10:11] Paul.
[10:12] Paul said,
[10:12] I saw him.
[10:13] Then last of all,
[10:15] he was seen by me also,
[10:16] as one who was born out of Deucism.
[10:19] I saw him alive.
[10:20] Paul said,
[10:21] I saw him alive.
[10:22] So,
[10:22] I know what I'm talking about.
[10:24] They saw him alive.
[10:25] He proved himself.
[10:26] He showed himself to them,
[10:27] all of them,
[10:28] the disciples,
[10:29] openly.
[10:30] Now,
[10:31] why is it so special,
[10:33] that the resurrection,
[10:36] had to be the center of the Christian doctrine,
[10:39] and center of Christian message,
[10:40] the cross,
[10:41] and the resurrection?
[10:42] Now,
[10:43] Jesus is,
[10:44] what's so special about Jesus' resurrection?
[10:46] Number one,
[10:47] it was unique,
[10:47] because he wasn't the only one who was raised from the dead.
[10:50] He wasn't the only one.
[10:52] Lazarus was raised from the dead.
[10:54] The widow of Nain,
[10:55] in Luke,
[10:56] her son,
[10:57] was raised from the dead by Jesus Christ.
[11:00] Jairus' daughter,
[11:01] in Mark chapter 5,
[11:03] from verse 37,
[11:04] Jesus went and said,
[11:06] Talita,
[11:07] Kumi,
[11:08] little girl,
[11:09] rise up,
[11:09] and he said,
[11:09] give her food to eat.
[11:11] So,
[11:11] she was raised from the dead.
[11:13] Jesus brought Lazarus back from the dead.
[11:15] That woman of Nain's daughter,
[11:17] even Paul,
[11:18] raised somebody back to death,
[11:19] in Acts chapter 20.
[11:21] He was preaching,
[11:22] long preaching,
[11:22] people were tired.
[11:23] No,
[11:23] not people,
[11:24] one person was tired,
[11:25] they were sleeping.
[11:26] Bible says,
[11:26] he slipped,
[11:27] he slipped into a deep sleep.
[11:29] He slipped into a deep sleep,
[11:31] whilst he was listening to their message.
[11:33] He's a warning to people who sleep,
[11:34] when preaching is going on.
[11:37] And,
[11:38] he slipped into a deep,
[11:40] deep sleep,
[11:41] and then he fell over,
[11:42] and died,
[11:43] and Paul went and breathed back on him,
[11:45] and it brought him back to life.
[11:47] And then in Acts chapter 9,
[11:48] Bible talk about,
[11:49] um,
[11:50] Docas,
[11:51] who died,
[11:51] from verse 34,
[11:53] somewhere there,
[11:54] Docas who died,
[11:55] and they called,
[11:56] Peter was in Joppa,
[11:57] from 38,
[11:58] and so they invited Peter,
[11:59] Peter came,
[12:00] and presented her alive,
[12:02] brought her.
[12:02] So,
[12:03] I mean,
[12:03] even in the Old Testament,
[12:05] Elijah brought,
[12:06] the woman's son,
[12:07] back to life.
[12:08] Elisha,
[12:08] also brought somebody,
[12:09] back to life.
[12:10] So,
[12:10] it is,
[12:11] the resurrection of Jesus,
[12:12] was not the only resurrection in life.
[12:15] So,
[12:15] what is the difference between that,
[12:16] and all the other resurrection?
[12:18] Jesus' resurrection,
[12:19] was unique,
[12:20] or is unique,
[12:21] because,
[12:22] that was true resurrection.
[12:23] In John chapter 11,
[12:24] verse 25,
[12:25] he said,
[12:26] I am,
[12:27] that's a serious statement,
[12:28] you know,
[12:29] Jesus said unto her,
[12:30] me,
[12:30] I am the resurrection,
[12:33] and the life.
[12:34] He who believes in me,
[12:35] though he may die,
[12:36] he said,
[12:37] I am the resurrection.
[12:38] Jesus Christ's resurrection,
[12:40] is resurrection.
[12:40] All the others,
[12:41] were resuscitation.
[12:44] Resuscitation,
[12:44] in the sense that,
[12:45] they were brought back to life,
[12:46] to die again shortly.
[12:48] None of them,
[12:49] even lived more than 100 years,
[12:50] after us.
[12:51] I believe,
[12:52] even 50 years is too much.
[12:53] All of them died,
[12:54] Lazarus died,
[12:55] the widow of Nahim's son died,
[12:58] the widow of Zeraphat's son died again,
[13:01] Dorcas died again,
[13:03] the sleeping,
[13:04] the one who slept during preaching,
[13:06] who died.
[13:08] He died again,
[13:09] because it was resuscitation.
[13:11] They were brought back to life temporarily,
[13:13] but Jesus Christ resurrected,
[13:15] his resurrection was a death-defying,
[13:18] death-conquering resurrection.
[13:20] So in Hebrews chapter 7,
[13:22] verse 16,
[13:23] puts it this way.
[13:24] Hebrews 7,
[13:25] it says that,
[13:26] who has come,
[13:27] talking about Jesus,
[13:28] who has come,
[13:29] not according to the law of fleshly commandment,
[13:32] but according to the power of an endless life.
[13:36] He has become a high priest,
[13:38] based on not commandment given to Moses,
[13:40] but based on a power he carries.
[13:42] So he came after the order of Melchizedek,
[13:45] who does not have the beginning,
[13:47] neither does he have an end.
[13:49] He is the self-existent one.
[13:51] And Bible says that,
[13:52] all the other priests,
[13:53] they died,
[13:54] because in Hebrews chapter 7,
[13:56] verse 21,
[13:57] and the Bible says that,
[13:58] death prevented them.
[14:00] They died,
[14:01] because they couldn't continue.
[14:03] They could not continue.
[14:04] There were so many priests,
[14:05] because they were prevented by death,
[14:08] from continuing.
[14:09] Look at verse 10,
[14:10] but,
[14:10] but,
[14:11] look at the next verse,
[14:12] verse 24,
[14:12] it says that,
[14:13] but he,
[14:13] talking about Jesus,
[14:14] because he continues forever,
[14:16] he has an unchangeable priesthood.
[14:19] Verse 25 says,
[14:20] therefore he is also able,
[14:21] to save to the uttermost,
[14:24] hallelujah,
[14:25] those who come to God,
[14:26] through him.
[14:28] He does not die.
[14:30] He has,
[14:31] the endless life,
[14:32] death defying life.
[14:34] He died,
[14:35] and he resurrected.
[14:36] John chapter 10,
[14:37] verse 18.
[14:38] He said,
[14:39] I laid down my life,
[14:41] and I have the power,
[14:43] to lay my life down,
[14:44] and the power to,
[14:45] pick it up again.
[14:46] He laid it down,
[14:48] and pick it up again.
[14:49] Hallelujah.
[14:51] So,
[14:51] Jesus' resurrection,
[14:53] was unique in that sense,
[14:55] that,
[14:55] it's not the same resurrection,
[14:56] that we saw,
[14:57] happening to others,
[14:58] in the Bible.
[14:59] Number two,
[15:00] uniqueness,
[15:01] or fact about,
[15:02] the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
[15:04] you can't deny it.
[15:05] It's undeniable.
[15:06] I showed you,
[15:07] there are so many proofs,
[15:09] or infallible proofs,
[15:10] they saw him alive.
[15:12] It's not deniable.
[15:13] You can't deny it.
[15:14] And then,
[15:15] what was even interesting is,
[15:17] was that,
[15:18] listen to this,
[15:19] brothers and sisters,
[15:20] his disciples,
[15:21] didn't expect him to rise.
[15:23] Yeah.
[15:24] It's different,
[15:25] if they expected it.
[15:26] So,
[15:27] based on,
[15:27] some of you have had dreams,
[15:29] because,
[15:30] of what,
[15:31] was preoccupying your mind.
[15:33] How many of you,
[15:33] and I know you won't leave your head,
[15:35] you had a dream,
[15:36] that a gentleman,
[15:37] was marrying you.
[15:39] It was just a dream.
[15:40] You woke up,
[15:41] only to realize,
[15:42] oh,
[15:42] you thought,
[15:42] you were sitting in the limousine,
[15:44] and he was on your right.
[15:45] And then you go and tell him,
[15:46] I saw ourselves,
[15:47] in the wedding dream.
[15:47] Hey,
[15:48] the devil is a liar.
[15:49] Sometimes,
[15:50] when you are preoccupied,
[15:51] with something,
[15:52] you can take it,
[15:53] into your dreams.
[15:54] I don't know if you,
[15:55] have experienced that before.
[15:56] Yeah.
[15:57] You had a dream,
[15:57] that you were marrying that girl.
[15:59] You have,
[16:00] she's always,
[16:01] they,
[16:02] but the problem here,
[16:03] is that,
[16:03] the issue here,
[16:04] is that,
[16:04] they did not expect it.
[16:07] The disciples,
[16:08] so,
[16:09] look at what we just read.
[16:10] Mary Magdalene,
[16:11] when he went to the tomb,
[16:12] and he found him not,
[16:14] she found him not,
[16:15] she came,
[16:16] and he said that,
[16:17] they have stolen,
[16:18] our savior.
[16:19] She said that,
[16:20] he's been taken away,
[16:21] by some people.
[16:22] In fact,
[16:22] she saw the gardener,
[16:24] the gardener,
[16:25] and asked the gardener,
[16:26] please,
[16:26] if you know,
[16:27] where they are putting,
[16:28] tell me.
[16:29] They didn't expect,
[16:30] a resurrected body.
[16:32] In John chapter 28,
[16:34] so much so that,
[16:35] when,
[16:36] Jesus Christ,
[16:37] called Mary,
[16:38] Mary said,
[16:39] Rabboni,
[16:40] she was talking to him,
[16:42] but didn't even know,
[16:43] he was the one.
[16:44] Why?
[16:45] Because,
[16:45] it was the last thing,
[16:46] on her mind.
[16:47] She never expected,
[16:48] that he was going to resurrect.
[16:50] The disciples,
[16:51] never expected,
[16:52] that,
[16:52] in fact,
[16:52] the text I just read,
[16:53] look at the verse 9,
[16:54] John chapter 20,
[16:55] verse 9.
[16:56] There's something interesting there.
[16:57] It says that,
[16:58] for as yet,
[16:59] they did not know,
[17:00] the scripture,
[17:01] that he must rise.
[17:03] they didn't know,
[17:05] he must rise again.
[17:07] That's why,
[17:07] in Luke chapter 24,
[17:09] from verse 24,
[17:11] when they were talking about,
[17:12] didn't you know,
[17:13] he's resurrected?
[17:14] The guy,
[17:14] no,
[17:15] they didn't say he's resurrected.
[17:16] They said,
[17:17] some of our friends,
[17:18] our brothers,
[17:19] went to,
[17:19] today is the third day,
[17:21] they went to the tomb,
[17:22] and they didn't find him.
[17:23] They didn't find him.
[17:24] And so,
[17:25] we are wondering,
[17:25] what's going on?
[17:26] Then Jesus speaks on them,
[17:27] and he says that,
[17:29] he said,
[17:29] they didn't find him.
[17:30] They came to the tomb,
[17:31] saying that,
[17:32] they had also seen,
[17:33] a vision of angels,
[17:35] who said,
[17:36] he was alive.
[17:37] They said,
[17:37] angels said,
[17:38] he was alive.
[17:38] Look at the next verse.
[17:40] And,
[17:40] certain of those,
[17:41] who were with us,
[17:42] went to the tomb,
[17:43] and found it,
[17:44] just as the women have said,
[17:46] but,
[17:47] him,
[17:47] they did not see.
[17:49] The next verse.
[17:49] Then Jesus said to them,
[17:51] oh foolish one,
[17:52] slow of heart,
[17:53] to believe,
[17:54] all that the prophets,
[17:55] have spoken.
[17:56] Ought not the Messiah,
[17:58] Ought not the Christ,
[17:59] to have suffered,
[18:01] these things,
[18:01] we are talking about,
[18:03] and,
[18:03] to have entered his glory.
[18:05] They didn't know.
[18:07] They didn't,
[18:07] look at verse 32.
[18:08] They didn't realize that,
[18:10] they didn't expect it.
[18:11] And they said,
[18:11] one to another,
[18:12] did our heart not bear within us,
[18:14] while he talked with us,
[18:15] on the road,
[18:16] and while he opened the scriptures to us.
[18:17] They didn't actually,
[18:18] even expect that to be him.
[18:20] They didn't expect it.
[18:21] Even though,
[18:22] in several places in scripture,
[18:24] we can see that,
[18:25] Jesus told them,
[18:26] and when,
[18:27] he asked,
[18:28] who do men say I am?
[18:29] Matthew chapter 16,
[18:30] you remember?
[18:31] And,
[18:31] Peter said,
[18:32] you are the son of God.
[18:33] He began to tell them,
[18:34] I'll build my church.
[18:35] And then,
[18:36] in the verse 21,
[18:37] look at the verse 21,
[18:38] Bible says that,
[18:39] from that time,
[18:40] Jesus began to show,
[18:41] to his disciples,
[18:42] that he must go to Jerusalem,
[18:44] and suffer many things,
[18:45] from the elders,
[18:46] and the chief priests,
[18:47] and the scribes,
[18:47] and be killed.
[18:48] That's not the end of the story.
[18:50] Look at,
[18:50] let's read the last statement there,
[18:52] and be raised,
[18:53] dead dead.
[18:54] He told them,
[18:55] but they didn't even believe it.
[18:56] That's why Peter took him on the side,
[18:57] and began repuging him,
[18:58] in verse 22.
[18:59] Peter said,
[19:00] stop saying this kind of things.
[19:02] You won't die.
[19:02] He only had death,
[19:05] but he didn't hear the resurrection.
[19:07] So,
[19:07] they actually didn't expect the resurrection.
[19:09] In the book of Mark chapter 8,
[19:11] verse 31,
[19:11] and Mark chapter 9,
[19:12] verse 31,
[19:13] Mark chapter 8,
[19:14] verse 31,
[19:14] he told them,
[19:15] and he began to teach them,
[19:17] that the son of man,
[19:18] must suffer many things,
[19:19] and be rejected,
[19:20] and be killed,
[19:23] and after three days,
[19:25] rise again.
[19:26] Look at chapter 9,
[19:27] verse 31.
[19:27] He kept saying,
[19:28] for he taught his disciples,
[19:30] and said to them,
[19:31] the son of man is being betrayed,
[19:33] into the hands of men,
[19:35] and they will kill him,
[19:36] and after he is killed,
[19:38] he will rise.
[19:41] It wasn't something hidden.
[19:43] He kept telling them.
[19:44] Luke chapter 9,
[19:45] verse 22,
[19:45] he kept telling them,
[19:47] and so,
[19:48] but they didn't believe it.
[19:49] One,
[19:51] he announced it to them,
[19:51] before he died.
[19:53] In John chapter 2,
[19:54] verse 19,
[19:55] he told them that,
[19:56] Jesus answered,
[19:57] destroy this temple,
[19:58] and in three days,
[19:59] I,
[20:00] I,
[20:00] I,
[20:01] will,
[20:02] I will raise it up.
[20:04] He told them.
[20:05] The disciples said all these things,
[20:07] but they didn't believe it.
[20:09] They didn't believe it.
[20:10] They thought,
[20:11] you know,
[20:12] you know sometimes,
[20:13] pastors preach,
[20:13] and think this is just an encouragement.
[20:15] When his prophet said,
[20:16] I see God,
[20:17] turning your captivity around.
[20:18] You say,
[20:18] amen,
[20:19] but you know that's not you.
[20:20] It's somebody else.
[20:20] But this is,
[20:21] this is just,
[20:22] pastor likes saying these things.
[20:23] Pastor likes saying.
[20:23] So they thought Jesus likes saying things like that.
[20:26] They didn't believe him.
[20:28] And so they actually,
[20:29] the point I'm making is,
[20:30] they actually did not expect him to rise.
[20:34] They actually did not expect.
[20:36] So they couldn't have imagined that to design it and fake it.
[20:40] They never expected it.
[20:41] So when he rose,
[20:42] they were actually surprised.
[20:44] That's why Thomas said in the book of Matthew,
[20:46] John chapter 20,
[20:47] they said,
[20:48] he came,
[20:49] you are not here.
[20:49] He's alive.
[20:50] He came here.
[20:51] Thomas said,
[20:51] oh,
[20:51] no,
[20:51] no,
[20:51] no,
[20:51] no.
[20:51] Unless I see him myself and put,
[20:54] now he said,
[20:55] let's take it further.
[20:56] There must be the holes of the nails.
[20:59] Because I saw when they nailed him.
[21:00] I must see the wounds of the nails and put my finger inside it to make sure it's not some fake,
[21:07] some,
[21:07] what do you call it?
[21:09] Artificial intelligence,
[21:11] right?
[21:13] No,
[21:14] no,
[21:14] virtual reality.
[21:16] That is not some virtual reality or some makeup.
[21:19] I want to put my,
[21:21] I think he knew people were doing movies and this to do that.
[21:23] So he said,
[21:24] I want to put my finger there.
[21:26] Thomas said,
[21:26] no,
[21:27] because they didn't expect him.
[21:29] So when they saw him,
[21:31] they were all flabbergasted.
[21:33] Luke chapter 24,
[21:34] verse 44,
[21:35] downwards.
[21:36] They were surprised.
[21:37] They saw him.
[21:37] And then said he unto them,
[21:39] these are the words which I spoke to you whilst I was,
[21:42] whilst I was still with you,
[21:44] that all things must be fulfilled,
[21:45] which were written in the law of Moses and the prophets and the Psalms concerning me.
[21:52] The next verse.
[21:53] And he opened their eyes that they might understand it.
[21:56] The things were written,
[21:57] but they didn't even believe it.
[22:00] They didn't believe it.
[22:01] That's why in John chapter 20,
[22:03] what we just read,
[22:04] Bible says that then they understood the scriptures.
[22:07] Verse nine.
[22:07] Then Bible says that,
[22:09] but for us yet,
[22:10] they did not know the scriptures that he must read.
[22:13] They were reading it,
[22:14] but they didn't know it.
[22:16] So the point here is that his resurrection was not expected.
[22:21] And that's why when they saw it,
[22:24] they were so surprised because it is undeniable.
[22:27] It was evident that this thing is obvious.
[22:30] So the resurrection of Jesus is unique.
[22:32] The resurrection of Jesus is undeniable.
[22:34] And the third point I want to say about the resurrection of Jesus is that it's an eternal statement.
[22:40] That's very important.
[22:41] Eternal statement.
[22:42] You say you won't die.
[22:44] Oh,
[22:44] I'm just enjoying my life.
[22:45] Go on.
[22:45] One day you die anyway.
[22:47] All,
[22:48] everything you are.
[22:49] It's,
[22:49] it's not a castle.
[22:50] Listen,
[22:51] a lot of people don't want to hear that death.
[22:53] So that's why they don't like doing well.
[22:55] Many people don't like it because they don't expect to die.
[22:57] Many people die suddenly.
[23:01] When most people die at the time they never expected to.
[23:05] More people die when they didn't expect to than people who die when they were not ready.
[23:10] Many people die unprepared.
[23:13] Why?
[23:14] Because death is not something that naturally human nature expects or welcomes.
[23:22] So we never welcome.
[23:23] But Jesus' resurrection is an,
[23:25] it has eternal significance.
[23:28] Why?
[23:28] Because when you die,
[23:30] whether you believe it or not,
[23:31] you rise again.
[23:33] Or whether you believe it or not,
[23:34] after death,
[23:34] in Hebrews chapter 9 verse 27,
[23:37] it said,
[23:38] it's appointed unto man.
[23:39] If you're a human being,
[23:40] there's an appointment with death.
[23:42] It's appointed unto man,
[23:43] wants to die,
[23:44] and after death,
[23:46] after death.
[23:46] Yeah,
[23:47] so there are all kinds of ideas like reincarnation.
[23:50] Please forget it.
[23:51] You are not coming by as a rat.
[23:53] You are not coming back as a rat.
[23:55] You are not coming back as an ant,
[23:57] or as a chimpanzee,
[23:59] or as a princess,
[24:00] or as a prince.
[24:01] This is the only life you have.
[24:03] Live it now.
[24:04] Live it now to the fullest.
[24:06] And as you are living it,
[24:07] expect that after this one,
[24:09] you are dying,
[24:10] and after death,
[24:11] there is judgment.
[24:12] What you do about the cross of Christ
[24:14] will determine how you are going to face the judgment.
[24:18] You remember yesterday?
[24:20] How did you get here?
[24:21] The thief on the cross.
[24:22] How did you get here?
[24:23] I don't know.
[24:24] But you are not supposed to.
[24:25] What are your credentials for being here?
[24:27] I don't have any credentials.
[24:29] Baptism,
[24:30] certificate,
[24:31] no.
[24:31] Church membership,
[24:32] no.
[24:33] What good works have you done?
[24:34] No,
[24:35] I'm a criminal.
[24:36] I'm a murderer.
[24:37] I've not done anything good.
[24:38] And justification,
[24:40] no.
[24:40] Do you know about sanctification?
[24:41] No.
[24:41] Do you know about redemption?
[24:43] No.
[24:43] So what brings you here?
[24:44] The man on the middle cross
[24:46] tell me I can come.
[24:48] That is why I am here.
[24:49] The man on the middle cross
[24:51] told me to come.
[24:54] That's why I'm here.
[24:56] That's why I'm here.
[24:57] His resurrection
[24:58] has eternal significance
[25:01] and consequence.
[25:03] The resurrection.
[25:05] What do you mean?
[25:06] So many scriptures
[25:07] I can't point you to.
[25:09] Let me start from
[25:10] Romans chapter 4 verse 25.
[25:12] Ah.
[25:13] Romans chapter 4 verse.
[25:14] Shall we all read here
[25:14] from the screen?
[25:15] Let's go.
[25:15] Why was he raised?
[25:24] I prefer the way
[25:25] the King James puts it.
[25:26] He was raised
[25:27] for our justification.
[25:31] Romans chapter 10 verse 9.
[25:33] Ah,
[25:33] you like that one.
[25:35] That if,
[25:36] who,
[25:36] if you confess
[25:37] with your mouth
[25:38] the Lord Jesus
[25:38] and believe in your heart
[25:40] that what?
[25:42] That what?
[25:43] That what?
[25:43] Did you see
[25:44] where salvation comes from?
[25:45] Do you see
[25:46] where salvation comes from?
[25:48] Not that I just believe
[25:49] the cross did some job.
[25:50] You believe it
[25:50] but you must believe
[25:51] that God,
[25:52] God raised Jesus
[25:54] from the dead.
[25:57] Hallelujah.
[25:59] That will determine
[26:00] where you spend eternity.
[26:02] That will determine
[26:03] your salvation.
[26:04] You heard the scripture
[26:05] we read in 1 Corinthians
[26:06] chapter 15
[26:07] verse 14.
[26:09] Verse 15.
[26:10] Verse 14.
[26:11] 1 Corinthians.
[26:11] It says that
[26:12] if Christ is not risen
[26:13] then our preaching
[26:15] is empty
[26:16] and your faith
[26:17] is also empty.
[26:18] Listen,
[26:19] preaching has its power
[26:21] in the gospel.
[26:22] I said this
[26:22] some time ago.
[26:23] It is not our preaching
[26:25] that makes the gospel
[26:26] powerful.
[26:27] It is the gospel
[26:28] in our preaching
[26:29] that makes our
[26:30] lousy preaching
[26:31] powerful.
[26:33] It's the gospel message.
[26:35] The gospel message
[26:36] in our preaching.
[26:37] It's the gospel message
[26:39] in our preaching
[26:40] that makes
[26:41] the preaching
[26:42] powerful.
[26:43] It says that
[26:43] if Christ did not rise
[26:45] then our preaching
[26:46] is in vain
[26:47] and your faith
[26:48] is also in vain.
[26:50] It's empty.
[26:51] Look at the verse 17.
[26:53] Verse 17 continues
[26:55] to say
[26:55] if Christ
[26:56] be not raised
[26:57] your faith
[26:58] is vain
[26:59] and you are still
[27:00] a sinner.
[27:01] Did you see
[27:02] the implication
[27:03] of the resurrection
[27:04] to your eternal destiny?
[27:06] It says that
[27:06] if Christ
[27:07] that's why
[27:07] Satan doesn't like
[27:09] the resurrection message.
[27:10] he doesn't like it.
[27:13] He doesn't like it
[27:14] because
[27:15] it's directly
[27:15] linked to our salvation.
[27:17] It's directly
[27:19] linked to our redemption.
[27:21] The resurrection
[27:21] is what validates
[27:22] the work of the cross.
[27:24] The resurrection
[27:24] is what gives
[27:25] the work of the cross
[27:26] its importance
[27:27] and its meaning
[27:28] and its weight.
[27:30] The resurrection
[27:31] is the resurrection.
[27:33] So when you study
[27:33] the scriptures
[27:34] very carefully
[27:34] in the book of Acts
[27:36] practically
[27:37] every time
[27:37] they mentioned
[27:38] the death of Christ
[27:40] it was not detached
[27:41] from the resurrection.
[27:43] Every time
[27:44] they mentioned it
[27:44] they connected it
[27:45] to the resurrection.
[27:47] They connected it
[27:48] to the resurrection
[27:48] and I'm going to give you
[27:49] a few scriptures
[27:50] to show you
[27:51] how it was
[27:52] always connected.
[27:53] But the fact
[27:54] is that
[27:54] because our salvation
[27:56] is hinged
[27:56] on the resurrection
[27:57] and our eternal
[27:58] destinies
[27:59] which means
[28:00] eternal judgment
[28:01] is also connected
[28:02] to the resurrection.
[28:03] in fact
[28:05] this is how
[28:06] Paul put it
[28:07] on the mass hill
[28:08] to the Athenian philosophers.
[28:11] He said
[28:11] in Acts chapter 17
[28:13] verse 30
[28:14] in the times
[28:15] of ignorance
[28:16] God winked
[28:17] God said
[28:17] okay I'm not saying
[28:18] I'm not saying it
[28:19] that's alright
[28:19] I'm not saying it
[28:20] in the times
[28:21] of ignorance
[28:22] God winked at
[28:23] but now
[28:24] commands all men
[28:26] everywhere
[28:27] to repent
[28:28] God now
[28:31] doesn't suggest
[28:32] He commands
[28:33] all men
[28:35] somebody say
[28:35] all men
[28:36] sorry all men
[28:38] God commands
[28:40] all men
[28:41] where
[28:41] in UK
[28:42] only UK
[28:44] only in America
[28:45] only in Africa
[28:47] only in China
[28:48] only in the Middle East
[28:50] where
[28:50] everywhere
[28:52] everywhere
[28:53] God commands
[28:57] all men
[28:58] not only the Jews
[28:59] all men
[29:00] everywhere
[29:01] to repent
[29:03] and guess what
[29:04] look at the next statement
[29:05] verse 31
[29:05] and
[29:06] because God
[29:08] has appointed
[29:08] a day
[29:09] on which
[29:10] He would judge
[29:11] the world
[29:12] in righteousness
[29:13] how is He going to do it
[29:15] by
[29:15] the man
[29:16] that Jesus
[29:17] whom
[29:18] He
[29:18] has ordained
[29:20] He has given
[29:21] assurance
[29:22] of this
[29:23] to all
[29:24] by
[29:24] raising Him
[29:26] from the dead
[29:26] so He raised Him
[29:28] from the dead
[29:28] to tell you
[29:29] there's a day
[29:30] of judgment
[29:30] coming
[29:31] and I'm going
[29:31] to judge you
[29:32] the resurrection
[29:33] of Jesus Christ
[29:34] has eternal
[29:36] significance
[29:36] and then the fourth point
[29:38] the resurrection
[29:39] I mentioned it earlier on
[29:40] but I jumped ahead
[29:41] of myself
[29:42] the fourth point
[29:43] is the resurrection
[29:44] of Jesus Christ
[29:45] is tied to the crucifixion
[29:46] the meaning
[29:48] of the crucifixion
[29:49] is actualized
[29:50] in the resurrection
[29:50] so
[29:52] in the book of Acts
[29:53] chapter 2
[29:54] verse 23
[29:55] it says that
[29:57] you guys
[29:58] killed Him
[29:59] it says that
[30:00] Him being delivered
[30:01] by the determined
[30:02] purpose
[30:02] and the foreknowledge
[30:04] of God
[30:04] you
[30:05] you guys
[30:06] you have
[30:07] taken
[30:08] you have
[30:09] taken Him
[30:09] by lawless
[30:11] hands
[30:12] have crucified
[30:14] and put to death
[30:15] every time
[30:16] they mention
[30:17] Jesus died
[30:18] they didn't leave it there
[30:19] look at the next verse
[30:20] but
[30:21] whom
[30:22] God
[30:23] raised
[30:23] did you see that
[30:24] whom
[30:25] they always linked
[30:26] the resurrection
[30:27] to the death
[30:29] every time
[30:29] they mention
[30:30] crucifixion
[30:30] they make sure
[30:31] that the resurrection
[30:32] followed
[30:32] the resurrection
[30:34] was the key focus
[30:35] of their teaching
[30:36] and their preaching
[30:37] in Acts chapter 3
[30:38] verse 15
[30:39] in Acts chapter 4
[30:41] verse 10
[30:41] in Acts chapter 5
[30:43] verse 30
[30:43] in Acts chapter 10
[30:45] verse 40
[30:46] verse 41
[30:47] in Acts chapter 13
[30:49] verse 30
[30:50] in Acts chapter 13
[30:51] verse 32
[30:52] verse 33
[30:53] verse 34
[30:54] in Acts chapter 13
[30:55] verse 37
[30:56] in Acts
[30:57] I like chapter 17
[30:58] in Acts chapter 17
[31:00] we just read it
[31:01] verse 30
[31:01] and verse 31
[31:02] and I love
[31:03] Acts chapter 26
[31:04] verse 8
[31:04] Acts chapter 26
[31:07] I think we should
[31:08] read that one
[31:08] in Acts chapter 26
[31:09] verse 8
[31:10] it says that
[31:11] why should it be
[31:12] shall we all read it
[31:13] let's go
[31:13] that God
[31:18] God raises what
[31:20] God raises what
[31:22] because
[31:23] they are
[31:24] disputing about
[31:25] one dead man
[31:26] named Jesus
[31:27] who Paul
[31:28] claims to be
[31:29] one dead man
[31:32] named Jesus
[31:32] who Paul
[31:34] claims
[31:34] to be
[31:35] alive
[31:35] Agrippa said
[31:36] that's what
[31:37] they are
[31:37] disputing
[31:37] and I don't
[31:38] see their point
[31:38] if he's dead
[31:39] you believe he's
[31:40] dead
[31:40] then leave it
[31:41] and if he's
[31:42] saying he's
[31:43] alive
[31:43] why are you
[31:43] killing him
[31:44] he says that
[31:44] but had
[31:45] some questions
[31:46] against him
[31:47] about their
[31:48] own religion
[31:48] and about
[31:49] a certain
[31:50] Jesus
[31:51] who had
[31:52] died
[31:53] whom Paul
[31:54] affirmed
[31:55] let's go to
[31:57] the way
[31:58] he said
[32:00] but had
[32:01] certain
[32:01] questions
[32:02] against him
[32:02] of their
[32:03] own
[32:03] superstitions
[32:04] and of
[32:07] one Jesus
[32:08] who was
[32:10] dead
[32:10] whom
[32:11] Paul
[32:12] affirmed
[32:12] to be
[32:13] alive
[32:14] I think
[32:16] NIV
[32:16] one of
[32:16] the
[32:16] verses
[32:17] says
[32:17] Paul
[32:18] claimed
[32:18] yes
[32:18] NIV
[32:19] says
[32:19] that
[32:19] who
[32:20] Paul
[32:21] claimed
[32:21] was
[32:22] alive
[32:23] why should
[32:24] he bring
[32:24] dispute
[32:25] you said
[32:27] he's dead
[32:27] and now
[32:28] he said
[32:28] no he's
[32:29] alive
[32:29] because
[32:30] you want
[32:30] to kill
[32:31] him
[32:31] it doesn't
[32:33] make sense
[32:33] it doesn't
[32:34] make sense
[32:35] why do you
[32:35] want to
[32:36] kill him
[32:36] that's how
[32:37] much Satan
[32:38] couldn't stand
[32:39] the message
[32:39] about the
[32:40] resurrection
[32:40] of Jesus
[32:40] Christ
[32:41] the resurrection
[32:42] of Jesus
[32:42] Christ
[32:42] the resurrection
[32:43] of Jesus
[32:44] Christ
[32:44] in 1st
[32:45] Thessalonians
[32:45] chapter 1
[32:46] verse 10
[32:47] it talks about
[32:48] the resurrection
[32:48] of Jesus
[32:49] Christ
[32:49] because of
[32:50] that he said
[32:50] and we
[32:51] await for
[32:52] his son
[32:52] from heaven
[32:53] who he
[32:54] raised from
[32:54] the dead
[32:55] you see the
[32:55] connection
[32:56] God raised him
[32:57] from the dead
[32:57] even Jesus
[32:58] who delivers
[32:59] us from
[33:00] the wrath
[33:01] to come
[33:01] he delivers
[33:03] us
[33:03] in 1st
[33:04] Thessalonians
[33:04] chapter 4
[33:05] verse 14
[33:06] it connects
[33:07] the same
[33:07] thing
[33:08] it says that
[33:08] for if we
[33:09] believe that
[33:10] Jesus died
[33:11] somebody's
[33:14] not preaching
[33:15] with me
[33:15] let's go
[33:15] even so
[33:21] God will
[33:22] bring him
[33:23] with those
[33:24] who sleep
[33:24] in Jesus
[33:25] only those
[33:26] who sleep
[33:27] in Jesus
[33:27] if you don't
[33:28] die in Jesus
[33:29] you are in
[33:29] deep trouble
[33:29] man
[33:30] you are in
[33:31] a serious
[33:31] trouble
[33:31] a problem
[33:32] you got
[33:33] problem on
[33:34] your hands
[33:34] and definitely
[33:35] you are about
[33:35] to die
[33:35] anyway
[33:36] maybe not
[33:37] now
[33:37] maybe next
[33:38] hundred years
[33:38] within the
[33:39] next hundred
[33:39] years
[33:39] some people
[33:41] when I look
[33:42] at you
[33:42] I can tell
[33:43] in the next
[33:43] 80 years
[33:44] in 80 years
[33:45] time you'll
[33:45] be gone
[33:46] yes
[33:47] in 80 years
[33:48] time
[33:49] some of you
[33:49] you will
[33:50] live very
[33:50] long
[33:50] many people
[33:51] here
[33:51] many people
[33:52] listening to
[33:52] me
[33:53] you are not
[33:53] dying now
[33:54] you don't even
[33:56] believe
[33:57] you think I'm
[33:57] just encouraging
[33:58] you
[33:58] I am prophesying
[33:59] you will not
[34:00] die
[34:01] you will not
[34:02] die now
[34:03] but you
[34:04] will live
[34:05] to fulfill
[34:05] the works
[34:06] of the Lord
[34:07] in the name
[34:09] of Jesus
[34:09] hallelujah
[34:13] so we see
[34:16] how the
[34:17] death of
[34:18] Jesus is
[34:20] connected to
[34:21] the resurrection
[34:22] look at
[34:22] 1st Corinthians
[34:23] chapter 15
[34:24] 1st Corinthians
[34:25] chapter 15
[34:26] I like
[34:27] pastor
[34:29] this text
[34:30] I just don't
[34:30] know
[34:31] they just
[34:32] arrest my
[34:33] heart
[34:33] it does
[34:35] something to
[34:36] me that
[34:36] whether God
[34:37] 1st Corinthians
[34:38] chapter 15
[34:39] verse 3
[34:39] it says that
[34:40] for I deliver
[34:41] to you
[34:41] first of all
[34:42] that which I
[34:43] also received
[34:44] I didn't make
[34:45] it up
[34:45] pastor
[34:48] don't make
[34:49] it up
[34:49] just deliver
[34:50] what you
[34:50] have received
[34:51] from the
[34:51] word
[34:51] deliver
[34:52] deliver
[34:53] what you
[34:53] I deliver
[34:54] to you
[34:55] first of all
[34:56] that which I
[34:56] also received
[34:57] you remember
[34:58] in 2nd Timothy
[34:59] chapter 2
[34:59] from verse 1
[35:00] therefore be
[35:01] strong in
[35:01] the Lord
[35:02] and the
[35:02] verse 2
[35:03] says
[35:03] the things
[35:04] the things
[35:05] which you
[35:05] have heard
[35:06] from me
[35:06] amongst many
[35:07] witnesses
[35:07] commit these
[35:09] to faithful
[35:09] men
[35:10] they have
[35:10] to be
[35:10] faithful
[35:11] not to
[35:11] mix it
[35:12] not to
[35:13] dilute it
[35:14] not to
[35:14] try and
[35:15] spray perfume
[35:15] on it
[35:16] that people
[35:16] don't like
[35:17] that
[35:17] no
[35:17] leave it
[35:18] the way
[35:18] it is
[35:18] leave the
[35:19] gospel
[35:20] message
[35:20] the way
[35:20] it is
[35:21] leave the
[35:21] gospel
[35:22] message
[35:22] we preach
[35:23] Christ
[35:24] we preach
[35:26] Christ
[35:27] he said
[35:29] back to
[35:29] the text
[35:30] I deliver
[35:30] to you
[35:31] what first
[35:32] of all
[35:32] I also
[35:32] received
[35:33] what did I
[35:33] receive
[35:34] that Christ
[35:35] died for
[35:35] our sins
[35:36] let me
[35:38] jump down
[35:38] for this
[35:39] one
[35:39] why did
[35:41] he die
[35:41] why did
[35:43] he die
[35:43] not for
[35:45] his sins
[35:45] if he
[35:47] had sins
[35:48] he wouldn't
[35:48] have been
[35:48] able to
[35:49] resurrect
[35:49] because in
[35:51] Acts chapter
[35:52] 2
[35:52] he said
[35:53] for you
[35:53] will not
[35:53] suffer
[35:54] your
[35:54] holy
[35:55] one
[35:55] so if
[35:56] he
[35:57] didn't
[35:57] have
[35:58] holiness
[35:58] he would
[35:59] have
[35:59] seen
[35:59] corruption
[36:00] the reason
[36:02] why
[36:02] nobody
[36:03] is able
[36:03] to die
[36:04] and come
[36:04] back by
[36:05] himself
[36:05] is because
[36:06] we human
[36:07] beings
[36:07] have sin
[36:08] he's the
[36:10] only human
[36:10] being who
[36:11] lived
[36:11] and was
[36:12] sinless
[36:12] so he
[36:13] could lay
[36:14] down his
[36:14] life
[36:15] and just
[36:16] pick it
[36:16] up again
[36:17] he said
[36:18] you will
[36:19] not
[36:19] suffer
[36:20] your
[36:21] holy
[36:21] one
[36:22] to see
[36:22] corruption
[36:23] a lot
[36:24] of corruption
[36:24] in people's
[36:25] lives is as
[36:26] a result
[36:27] of sin
[36:27] sin can
[36:29] corrupt your
[36:30] family life
[36:30] sin can
[36:32] corrupt your
[36:33] health
[36:33] sin can
[36:34] corrupt your
[36:35] ministry
[36:35] man of
[36:36] God
[36:37] pastor
[36:37] sin can
[36:38] corrupt your
[36:39] ministry
[36:39] sin can
[36:41] corrupt your
[36:41] business
[36:42] sin can
[36:44] corrupt your
[36:44] industry
[36:45] sin can
[36:46] corrupt your
[36:47] aspirations
[36:47] sin can
[36:49] corrupt your
[36:49] vision
[36:50] sin can
[36:51] corrupt your
[36:52] dreams
[36:53] sin can
[36:54] corrupt your
[36:55] family life
[36:55] your marriage
[36:56] your career
[36:57] your education
[36:58] whatever you
[36:59] are doing in
[36:59] life
[37:00] if you don't
[37:00] want satan to
[37:01] have free
[37:02] market
[37:03] without tariff
[37:05] he just gets
[37:05] in without
[37:06] tariff
[37:07] he has free
[37:08] the market is free
[37:09] for satan to just
[37:10] come in
[37:10] if you don't
[37:11] want satan to
[37:12] come in
[37:12] then keep
[37:13] sin out
[37:13] because the
[37:14] bait of
[37:15] death is
[37:16] sin
[37:16] the sting of
[37:18] death
[37:18] first corinthians
[37:19] chapter 15
[37:20] we heard it
[37:20] earlier on
[37:21] from verse 56
[37:22] the sting of
[37:23] death is
[37:25] sin
[37:25] if you
[37:27] won't want
[37:28] your ministry
[37:29] to die
[37:29] it's not how
[37:31] much you are
[37:32] represented
[37:33] online
[37:34] that is not
[37:35] what shows how
[37:35] well your
[37:36] ministry will do
[37:36] followers don't
[37:38] determine quality
[37:39] of ministry
[37:40] he said that
[37:42] sin
[37:43] is
[37:44] the sting
[37:45] so without
[37:46] sin
[37:46] death cannot
[37:47] come in
[37:48] the sting
[37:49] of death
[37:49] is
[37:50] many
[37:52] divorces
[37:52] are because
[37:53] of sin
[37:54] so he said
[38:01] oh grave
[38:02] where is
[38:02] your sting
[38:03] now the
[38:04] point I'm
[38:04] making here
[38:05] is that
[38:05] all of us
[38:07] are sinned
[38:07] and foolish
[38:08] so if I
[38:09] attempt to
[38:10] die for
[38:10] you the
[38:11] problem
[38:11] will be I
[38:12] have to
[38:12] die for
[38:13] myself
[38:13] first
[38:13] then when
[38:15] I finish
[38:15] because a
[38:19] criminal cannot
[38:20] bail out another
[38:21] criminal
[38:21] so the thief on
[38:25] the cross in
[38:26] Luke chapter 24
[38:27] verse 39
[38:28] it said that if
[38:29] you are the
[38:30] Christ save
[38:31] yourself first
[38:32] because that's
[38:33] where it starts
[38:33] save yourself
[38:35] and then save
[38:36] us also
[38:37] and so
[38:38] you can't
[38:39] save others
[38:40] if you
[38:41] yourself are
[38:42] not saved
[38:42] because of
[38:45] sin
[38:45] Romans says
[38:46] that for
[38:47] all have
[38:48] sinned and
[38:49] have fallen
[38:49] Romans 3
[38:50] 23 have
[38:50] fallen short
[38:51] of the glory
[38:52] of God
[38:52] now the point
[38:53] is that there
[38:54] is a direct
[38:55] correlation
[38:56] between
[38:57] his death
[38:59] and his
[39:00] resurrection
[39:00] so he says
[39:01] that Christ
[39:02] died
[39:02] 1 Corinthians
[39:03] chapter 15
[39:04] verse 3
[39:05] I deliver to
[39:05] you first of
[39:06] all what I
[39:07] have received
[39:07] that Christ
[39:08] died for
[39:09] our sins
[39:10] not his
[39:11] sins
[39:11] I want to
[39:13] move away
[39:13] from there
[39:14] but the thing
[39:14] is gripping
[39:15] me just for
[39:16] someone to
[39:16] know that
[39:16] his death
[39:17] was intentional
[39:18] he planned
[39:20] that I'm going
[39:21] to die
[39:21] he came to
[39:22] die for us
[39:23] in Galatians
[39:24] chapter 1
[39:25] verse 4
[39:25] he gave
[39:26] himself for
[39:27] us
[39:27] he actually
[39:29] gave himself
[39:29] for us
[39:30] he said
[39:31] the good
[39:32] shepherd
[39:32] would lay
[39:33] down his
[39:33] life
[39:34] John
[39:34] chapter 10
[39:35] verse 11
[39:35] the good
[39:36] shepherd
[39:36] would lay
[39:37] down his
[39:38] life
[39:38] for the
[39:39] sheep
[39:40] so Jesus
[39:41] voluntarily
[39:42] intentionally
[39:44] purposefully
[39:45] died
[39:46] for us
[39:48] not for him
[39:48] so he says
[39:49] that I
[39:50] deliver to
[39:50] you what
[39:51] I have
[39:51] received
[39:51] that Christ
[39:52] died for
[39:53] our sins
[39:53] and he did
[39:54] it based
[39:54] on what
[39:55] scripture
[39:55] has said
[39:55] and said
[39:57] that was not
[39:57] the end
[39:58] of the story
[39:58] the next
[39:59] verse
[39:59] verse 4
[40:00] and
[40:00] this is
[40:01] that
[40:01] he said
[40:02] and
[40:02] that
[40:03] he was
[40:04] buried
[40:05] that's not
[40:05] the end
[40:06] of the story
[40:06] and that
[40:07] he rose
[40:08] again
[40:08] the third
[40:09] day
[40:10] according
[40:10] to the
[40:11] scripture
[40:11] according
[40:13] to the
[40:13] scriptures
[40:14] he rose
[40:14] again
[40:15] say he
[40:17] rose
[40:17] so you
[40:18] see in
[40:19] scripture
[40:20] that there
[40:21] is a direct
[40:21] correlation
[40:22] or link
[40:23] between the
[40:24] death
[40:24] and the
[40:25] resurrection
[40:25] you can't
[40:26] talk about
[40:27] the death
[40:27] and ignore
[40:28] the resurrection
[40:28] and you
[40:29] can't
[40:29] talk about
[40:30] when you
[40:30] talk about
[40:30] resurrection
[40:31] it means
[40:32] that there
[40:32] has been
[40:32] death
[40:33] that is
[40:34] why they
[40:35] preach
[40:35] resurrection
[40:36] in Acts
[40:37] chapter 1
[40:37] verse 22
[40:38] when they
[40:38] were finding
[40:39] a replacement
[40:39] for Judas
[40:40] they said
[40:41] look out
[40:41] amongst you
[40:42] who
[40:42] somebody
[40:43] who has
[40:43] been with
[40:44] us
[40:44] verse 22
[40:45] from the
[40:46] beginning
[40:46] beginning
[40:47] from the
[40:48] baptism
[40:48] of John
[40:49] to the
[40:49] day that
[40:50] Jesus
[40:50] was taken
[40:51] up
[40:51] from us
[40:52] one of
[40:54] these
[40:54] must become
[40:55] a witness
[40:55] with us
[40:56] of what
[40:57] of his
[40:58] because that
[40:59] is what we
[40:59] go to
[41:00] witness
[41:00] we are a
[41:01] statement
[41:02] of the
[41:02] resurrection
[41:02] of Christ
[41:03] and as
[41:04] they see
[41:04] us
[41:05] testifying
[41:05] of his
[41:06] resurrection
[41:06] implicitly
[41:07] means that
[41:08] he died
[41:09] so
[41:10] now does
[41:11] that make
[41:11] sense when
[41:12] other religions
[41:12] say that
[41:13] they also
[41:14] have Jesus
[41:14] in their
[41:15] books
[41:15] but their
[41:17] Jesus
[41:17] didn't die
[41:18] because
[41:19] they cannot
[41:19] produce the
[41:20] resurrection
[41:20] the fact
[41:22] that he
[41:23] resurrected
[41:23] let me
[41:24] just say
[41:24] this before
[41:25] I move
[41:25] on quickly
[41:26] and run
[41:26] off
[41:26] two facts
[41:27] let's
[41:28] look at
[41:28] Acts chapter
[41:29] 10 verse
[41:29] 40
[41:30] because both
[41:30] of the
[41:31] points I
[41:31] want to
[41:31] make are
[41:32] there
[41:32] Acts chapter
[41:33] 10 verse
[41:34] 40
[41:35] it says
[41:36] that
[41:36] God
[41:37] raised him
[41:38] up on
[41:39] the third
[41:39] day
[41:39] and showed
[41:40] him
[41:41] who raised
[41:43] him
[41:43] but look
[41:45] at the
[41:45] next
[41:45] verse
[41:45] not to
[41:47] all the
[41:47] people
[41:48] but to
[41:48] the witnesses
[41:49] who have
[41:49] chosen before
[41:50] God
[41:50] even as
[41:51] who ate
[41:51] and drank
[41:52] with him
[41:53] after he
[41:54] after he
[41:56] it could have
[41:59] sounded after
[42:00] he was
[42:00] raised
[42:01] but I said
[42:03] after he
[42:04] arose
[42:04] it signifies
[42:06] that he
[42:07] himself
[42:07] rose
[42:09] he rose
[42:10] so in
[42:11] a lot of
[42:12] scriptures
[42:12] you can see
[42:13] that the
[42:14] Bible says
[42:14] that Jesus
[42:15] Christ was
[42:15] raised by the
[42:16] father
[42:17] he was
[42:17] raised
[42:18] from the
[42:18] dead
[42:18] Romans
[42:18] chapter
[42:19] 8
[42:19] verse
[42:20] 11
[42:20] he said
[42:21] he who
[42:21] raised
[42:21] Christ
[42:22] from the
[42:22] dead
[42:22] so you
[42:23] can tell
[42:23] a lot
[42:24] of places
[42:24] in scripture
[42:25] it is
[42:26] clear that
[42:27] he was
[42:27] raised
[42:28] he was
[42:28] raised
[42:29] but
[42:30] you see
[42:31] again
[42:31] that he
[42:32] himself
[42:32] rose
[42:33] so in
[42:34] Acts
[42:35] chapter
[42:35] 40
[42:35] verse
[42:36] 41
[42:36] he rose
[42:37] in Luke
[42:38] chapter
[42:38] 24
[42:39] verse 7
[42:40] look at
[42:40] Luke
[42:41] 24
[42:42] verse 7
[42:42] saying
[42:43] the son
[42:43] of man
[42:44] must be
[42:44] delivered
[42:44] unto the
[42:45] hands
[42:45] of sinful
[42:45] men
[42:46] and be
[42:46] crucified
[42:46] on the
[42:47] third
[42:47] day
[42:47] he will
[42:49] rise
[42:49] the third
[42:50] day
[42:51] he rise
[42:51] again
[42:51] 1st
[42:52] Thessalonians
[42:52] chapter 4
[42:53] verse 14
[42:54] I quoted
[42:54] it earlier
[42:55] on
[42:55] look at
[42:56] the text
[42:56] again
[42:56] it speaks
[42:57] about how
[42:58] for if
[42:59] we believe
[42:59] that Jesus
[43:00] died
[43:00] and
[43:01] rose
[43:02] but
[43:03] a lot
[43:03] of other
[43:04] places
[43:04] he was
[43:05] raised
[43:05] so was
[43:06] he raised
[43:06] or he
[43:06] rose
[43:07] was
[43:08] Jesus
[43:08] raised
[43:09] or he
[43:10] rose
[43:10] did he
[43:11] come back
[43:12] by himself
[43:12] or God
[43:13] worked
[43:14] Acts
[43:14] chapter 2
[43:15] verse 24
[43:16] it says
[43:16] whom God
[43:17] raised
[43:18] so you see
[43:19] clearly
[43:20] that there
[43:20] was an
[43:21] act of
[43:21] God
[43:22] involved
[43:22] now
[43:23] when he
[43:23] died
[43:24] as a
[43:24] human
[43:25] being
[43:25] when it
[43:25] comes to
[43:26] his
[43:26] humanity
[43:26] he was
[43:28] raised
[43:28] because
[43:28] when a
[43:29] human
[43:29] being
[43:29] dies
[43:30] he can't
[43:30] come back
[43:31] by himself
[43:31] and so
[43:32] God
[43:32] had to
[43:33] raise
[43:33] him
[43:33] but when
[43:33] it
[43:34] comes
[43:34] to
[43:34] his
[43:34] deity
[43:34] he
[43:35] lay
[43:35] down
[43:36] and he
[43:36] rose
[43:36] oh my
[43:37] goodness
[43:38] so that
[43:39] statement
[43:39] one is
[43:40] pointing to
[43:40] his
[43:40] full
[43:41] humanity
[43:41] the other
[43:42] one was
[43:42] pointing to
[43:43] his
[43:43] deity
[43:44] because
[43:45] you cannot
[43:45] kill God
[43:46] and keep
[43:46] him there
[43:47] so him
[43:47] as God
[43:48] even though
[43:48] he died
[43:49] in the
[43:49] flesh
[43:49] he
[43:50] rose up
[43:51] again
[43:51] as God
[43:52] so he's
[43:53] pointing that
[43:54] Jesus
[43:54] is God
[43:55] the resurrection
[43:56] is a
[43:56] statement
[43:57] that Jesus
[43:58] is God
[43:59] they killed him
[44:03] because they said
[44:03] he said he's the
[44:04] son of God
[44:05] God said me
[44:05] I will raise him
[44:06] and he will rise up
[44:08] to prove to you
[44:08] that he is right
[44:09] and you're
[44:10] wrong
[44:10] you're wrong
[44:11] you're wrong
[44:12] you're wrong
[44:13] the judge
[44:14] says he's not
[44:14] God
[44:15] he is God
[44:15] the resurrection
[44:16] is there to prove it
[44:17] the resurrection
[44:18] is there to
[44:19] now just bring me
[44:20] to the end of the
[44:20] point I'm trying to
[44:21] make
[44:21] so we have seen
[44:22] how the
[44:23] resurrection
[44:24] the significance
[44:25] or the importance
[44:26] of the resurrection
[44:26] that is
[44:27] all aspects
[44:28] of the resurrection
[44:29] the fact that
[44:30] the resurrection
[44:31] is unique
[44:32] the resurrection
[44:33] is undeniable
[44:34] the resurrection
[44:35] is an eternal
[44:36] statement
[44:37] the resurrection
[44:38] is directly linked
[44:38] to his death
[44:39] it's tied to his death
[44:40] now we have seen
[44:41] that he was raised
[44:43] and he rose
[44:44] now the last point
[44:45] based on the scripture
[44:46] I read
[44:47] from John chapter 2
[44:48] from verse 19
[44:49] 20
[44:50] 21
[44:51] 22
[44:51] and 23
[44:52] but from 18
[44:53] particularly
[44:54] the Jews came to him
[44:55] and they said
[44:56] this is what my
[44:57] opening comments
[44:58] if you remember
[44:58] they said
[44:59] the Jews answered
[45:00] and said to him
[45:01] what sign
[45:02] do you show us
[45:04] since you do
[45:05] these things
[45:06] you say you are God
[45:07] you say you are
[45:08] a Messiah
[45:09] you have power
[45:10] you are about
[45:11] to start Christianity
[45:12] you are about
[45:14] to build a church
[45:14] alright
[45:16] alright
[45:18] no problem
[45:19] what sign
[45:20] do you give us
[45:21] the only religious
[45:23] leader
[45:23] who said
[45:24] kill me
[45:25] you want to know
[45:26] if I am authentic
[45:27] alright
[45:28] kill me
[45:29] can you imagine
[45:31] can you imagine
[45:32] he had the
[45:33] unmitigated
[45:34] he didn't say
[45:35] I will kill myself
[45:36] he said
[45:36] you kill me
[45:37] and make sure
[45:38] I am dead
[45:38] so the Bible
[45:41] says that
[45:41] through lawless
[45:42] hands
[45:43] they crucified
[45:43] he said
[45:45] you kill me
[45:46] in Acts chapter 2
[45:46] verse 36
[45:47] verse 36
[45:48] he says
[45:49] therefore
[45:50] let all the
[45:50] house of Israel
[45:51] know
[45:51] assured
[45:52] that
[45:52] God has
[45:53] made
[45:53] this Jesus
[45:54] whom
[45:55] you crucified
[45:57] you know it
[45:57] it's not a strange
[45:59] fact
[45:59] everybody knew
[46:00] he died
[46:01] he died
[46:02] and they buried
[46:03] him in the tomb
[46:04] and they sealed
[46:06] the tomb
[46:06] and why are you
[46:08] guarding the tomb
[46:08] who is coming out
[46:09] you didn't think
[46:12] about it
[46:12] why are you
[46:13] guarding the tomb
[46:14] who is coming out
[46:15] dead people
[46:17] don't move
[46:17] why are you so
[46:19] afraid
[46:19] Satan
[46:20] what are you
[46:22] afraid of
[46:22] Satan
[46:23] so
[46:26] so he said
[46:28] what sign
[46:29] do you show
[46:29] us
[46:30] since you do
[46:31] these things
[46:31] he said
[46:32] look at the next
[46:34] verse
[46:34] he says
[46:35] that
[46:35] he says
[46:36] destroy
[46:37] this temple
[46:38] and in three
[46:39] days
[46:39] I
[46:40] I
[46:41] you see that
[46:42] he said
[46:43] me me
[46:43] me myself
[46:44] I will
[46:44] raise it up
[46:45] and now
[46:47] he has said
[46:48] a very interesting
[46:49] point because
[46:49] when he mentioned
[46:50] temple
[46:51] their minds
[46:51] went on
[46:52] the
[46:53] solomonic
[46:54] temple
[46:54] the physical
[46:55] edifice
[46:56] but we all
[46:58] saw in
[46:58] Acts chapter 17
[46:59] verse 24
[47:00] and in Acts
[47:01] chapter 7
[47:01] verse 48
[47:02] that the
[47:03] most high
[47:04] God
[47:04] does not
[47:05] dwell
[47:05] in this
[47:06] temple
[47:06] over there
[47:07] he can't
[47:08] dwell
[47:08] God
[47:08] doesn't
[47:09] live there
[47:09] but because
[47:11] he wanted
[47:12] a means
[47:12] to communicate
[47:13] with you
[47:14] people
[47:14] he made
[47:15] you do
[47:15] a replica
[47:16] that's why
[47:17] he gave
[47:17] them instructions
[47:18] and dimensions
[47:19] of how to
[47:20] build this
[47:20] thing
[47:20] to create
[47:21] an atmosphere
[47:21] to accommodate
[47:22] or to attract
[47:24] a certain
[47:24] heavenly dimension
[47:25] but God
[47:26] does not
[47:26] live there
[47:27] and so
[47:28] when we talk
[47:29] about the
[47:30] real temple
[47:30] I've taught
[47:30] you this
[47:31] over and
[47:32] over and
[47:32] over
[47:33] when you talk
[47:33] about the
[47:34] real temple
[47:35] God was
[47:36] looking for
[47:36] it is not
[47:37] what Solomon
[47:37] built
[47:38] I'm taking
[47:39] you somewhere
[47:40] it's not
[47:40] what Solomon
[47:41] built
[47:41] so Jesus
[47:42] said
[47:42] they asked
[47:44] him
[47:44] what sign
[47:45] do you
[47:46] give us
[47:47] to show
[47:48] us
[47:48] why you
[47:49] do these
[47:49] things
[47:49] what sign
[47:51] do you
[47:51] give us
[47:52] to show
[47:53] us
[47:53] why you
[47:54] do these
[47:54] things
[47:55] what sign
[47:56] he said
[47:57] he said
[48:00] destroy this
[48:01] temple
[48:02] and in
[48:02] three days
[48:03] and then
[48:04] they said
[48:04] that is
[48:05] madness
[48:06] then the
[48:06] Jews said
[48:07] to him
[48:07] it's
[48:08] taking 46
[48:08] years
[48:09] to build
[48:10] this temple
[48:10] and will
[48:11] you
[48:11] you
[48:11] you alone
[48:12] raise it
[48:13] up in
[48:13] three days
[48:13] really
[48:14] that's
[48:15] an
[48:15] architectural
[48:15] impossibility
[48:16] it couldn't
[48:19] happen
[48:20] so why
[48:21] was he
[48:21] talking
[48:21] like that
[48:21] he wasn't
[48:22] talking about
[48:23] a physical
[48:23] temple
[48:24] look at
[48:25] the next
[48:25] verse
[48:25] but he
[48:27] he was
[48:29] speaking
[48:30] about
[48:30] his body
[48:32] Jesus
[48:32] knew
[48:33] his body
[48:34] was a
[48:35] temple
[48:36] his body
[48:38] was a
[48:38] temple
[48:39] and he
[48:39] was talking
[48:40] about
[48:40] that body
[48:41] he says
[48:42] that
[48:42] and the
[48:43] word
[48:43] John
[48:44] 1 14
[48:45] and the
[48:45] word
[48:46] became
[48:46] flesh
[48:46] and
[48:47] tabernacle
[48:48] that tabernacle
[48:49] is it
[48:49] became a
[48:50] temple
[48:50] so when
[48:52] you
[48:52] when you
[48:53] went to
[48:53] Jesus
[48:54] you have
[48:54] gone to
[48:55] the temple
[48:55] of God
[48:56] that's why
[48:57] he went
[48:58] into the
[48:59] temple
[48:59] after he
[48:59] did his
[49:00] first miracle
[49:00] in John
[49:01] chapter 2
[49:02] the next
[49:02] thing is
[49:03] he went
[49:03] to the
[49:04] temple
[49:04] and the
[49:05] physical
[49:05] temple
[49:05] and sanitize
[49:06] it
[49:06] because that
[49:07] temple was
[49:08] a reflection
[49:08] of what
[49:09] he is
[49:10] he said
[49:12] destroy
[49:13] this temple
[49:14] and in
[49:15] three days
[49:16] I will
[49:17] raise it
[49:18] again
[49:18] he
[49:23] said
[49:24] he
[49:25] said
[49:25] he
[49:26] misinterpreted
[49:26] what he
[49:27] was saying
[49:27] they didn't
[49:27] get it
[49:28] even though
[49:29] in one
[49:29] sense
[49:29] they
[49:29] would
[49:30] think
[49:30] that
[49:30] but he
[49:30] said
[49:31] it
[49:31] he said
[49:32] but that's
[49:32] not what
[49:32] he meant
[49:32] he said
[49:34] destroy
[49:35] the temple
[49:35] and in
[49:35] three days
[49:36] I will
[49:36] raise it
[49:36] again
[49:36] he spoke
[49:38] about his
[49:38] body
[49:38] look at
[49:38] the next
[49:39] verse
[49:39] therefore
[49:41] when he
[49:42] had risen
[49:43] from the
[49:44] dead
[49:44] his
[49:44] disciples
[49:45] remembered
[49:46] that he
[49:47] said
[49:47] he had
[49:48] said
[49:48] this to
[49:49] them
[49:49] and they
[49:50] believed
[49:51] the scripture
[49:52] and the
[49:53] word which
[49:54] Jesus
[49:54] had spoken
[49:55] now
[49:56] this way
[49:57] I'm ending
[49:58] when Jesus
[49:59] was crucified
[50:00] and he
[50:01] hung
[50:02] on the
[50:03] cross
[50:03] he said
[50:04] seven things
[50:05] one of them
[50:06] is
[50:07] father forgive
[50:07] them
[50:08] the other
[50:08] one
[50:09] you'll be
[50:09] with me
[50:09] in
[50:09] paradise
[50:10] the other
[50:11] one is
[50:11] I taste
[50:12] the other
[50:13] one is
[50:13] it is
[50:14] finished
[50:15] that the
[50:16] last time
[50:17] the other
[50:17] one is
[50:17] father
[50:18] into your
[50:19] hands
[50:19] I commit
[50:20] my spirit
[50:22] and then he
[50:23] gave up
[50:23] the ghost
[50:24] but he
[50:24] just said
[50:25] it is
[50:25] finished
[50:25] it is
[50:26] finished
[50:27] that the
[50:27] last time
[50:28] John
[50:29] chapter 19
[50:30] verse 30
[50:31] 31
[50:31] Jesus said
[50:32] that the
[50:33] last time
[50:33] that's the
[50:34] Greek
[50:34] it is
[50:34] finished
[50:35] he said
[50:36] it is
[50:37] finished
[50:37] and bowing
[50:38] he said
[50:38] that's the
[50:39] last thing
[50:39] he said
[50:40] it is
[50:40] finished
[50:41] I finished
[50:42] paying
[50:43] in full
[50:44] and Bible
[50:45] in Isaiah
[50:46] Isaiah said
[50:47] Isaiah said
[50:48] God saw
[50:49] the travail
[50:49] of Isaiah
[50:50] 53
[50:50] verse 11
[50:51] and 12
[50:52] he saw
[50:52] the travail
[50:53] of his
[50:54] soul
[50:54] and God
[50:54] said
[50:55] for the
[50:55] first time
[50:56] in history
[50:56] my anger
[50:57] I have been
[50:59] propitiated
[51:00] I have been
[51:01] appeased
[51:02] I have been
[51:03] appeased
[51:04] I have been
[51:04] placated
[51:05] Bible said
[51:07] God saw
[51:08] the travail
[51:09] of his
[51:09] soul
[51:09] and he
[51:10] said
[51:10] the blast
[51:13] of bulls
[51:14] and goats
[51:14] could
[51:15] didn't
[51:15] satisfy
[51:15] God
[51:16] because
[51:17] it was
[51:17] so great
[51:18] and when
[51:19] Jesus died
[51:19] as the
[51:20] lamb of
[51:20] God
[51:21] who takes
[51:21] away
[51:22] the sin
[51:22] of the
[51:23] world
[51:23] he died
[51:24] as the
[51:25] lamb
[51:25] without
[51:25] spot
[51:25] and
[51:26] blemish
[51:26] he died
[51:27] as the
[51:28] lamb
[51:28] who was
[51:28] shed
[51:29] to redeem
[51:30] us
[51:30] from
[51:31] our
[51:31] tradition
[51:32] 1 Peter
[51:32] chapter 1
[51:33] verse 18
[51:34] and 19
[51:34] he was
[51:35] the lamb
[51:35] who was
[51:36] slain
[51:36] from the
[51:37] foundation
[51:37] of the
[51:37] earth
[51:38] as he
[51:38] died
[51:39] God
[51:39] looked at
[51:40] him
[51:40] and God
[51:40] said
[51:40] it's now
[51:41] done
[51:41] I'm
[51:42] satisfied
[51:43] do you
[51:43] know what
[51:43] do you
[51:44] know what
[51:44] happened
[51:44] as he
[51:45] died
[51:45] in according
[51:46] to Matthew
[51:46] chapter 27
[51:48] from verse 51
[51:49] there was a
[51:50] curtain in the
[51:50] temple
[51:51] the physical
[51:52] temple
[51:53] which was
[51:53] housing the
[51:54] presence of
[51:55] God for
[51:55] them
[51:56] behold
[51:56] the veil
[51:57] in the
[51:58] temple
[51:58] now
[51:58] let me
[51:59] tell you
[51:59] the veil
[52:00] was to
[52:01] prevent
[52:01] the inner
[52:02] court
[52:03] separate the
[52:04] inner court
[52:05] from the
[52:05] outer court
[52:05] and no one
[52:06] was permitted
[52:06] to go there
[52:07] because that's
[52:08] God's chamber
[52:08] on earth
[52:09] so to speak
[52:10] as it were
[52:11] God's chamber
[52:12] on earth
[52:12] was behind
[52:13] the veil
[52:14] so in
[52:15] Hebrews
[52:15] it says
[52:16] that our
[52:16] foreigner
[52:16] has gone
[52:17] beyond
[52:18] within the
[52:19] veil
[52:19] for us
[52:20] Hebrews
[52:20] chapter 6
[52:21] verse 20
[52:22] or so
[52:22] he has gone
[52:23] within the
[52:24] veil
[52:24] because only
[52:25] high priest
[52:25] can go there
[52:26] once a year
[52:26] you can't
[52:27] go be
[52:28] so what
[52:28] was the
[52:28] purpose of
[52:29] the veil
[52:29] to separate
[52:30] God's presence
[52:31] from the
[52:32] masses
[52:32] from people
[52:33] because people
[52:34] couldn't go there
[52:34] again
[52:35] and that
[52:35] it was the
[52:36] presence that
[52:37] made the
[52:38] temple
[52:38] the temple
[52:39] so as it
[52:40] were
[52:40] like
[52:41] you know
[52:41] a genie in a
[52:42] bottle was
[52:43] closed
[52:43] God was
[52:44] captured behind
[52:45] the veil
[52:45] as it were
[52:47] his symbolic
[52:47] presence for
[52:48] his people
[52:49] was behind
[52:49] the veil
[52:50] until Jesus
[52:51] said it is
[52:52] finished
[52:52] until God
[52:53] was satisfied
[52:54] and then
[52:55] suddenly
[52:56] the veil
[52:56] was low
[52:57] listen
[52:57] that curtain
[52:59] that veil
[52:59] was very high
[53:00] human being
[53:01] you can't
[53:01] just climb
[53:02] easy
[53:02] you need
[53:02] a lot
[53:02] but Bible
[53:03] says it's
[53:04] by itself
[53:04] the veil
[53:05] of the
[53:06] temple
[53:06] was torn
[53:07] in two
[53:08] from top
[53:09] not from
[53:09] bottom
[53:10] but from
[53:10] top
[53:10] somebody
[53:11] held it
[53:12] up there
[53:12] and ripped
[53:13] it
[53:13] and he said
[53:14] it is
[53:15] finished
[53:15] it is
[53:16] finished
[53:17] it is
[53:17] finished
[53:18] it is
[53:19] finished
[53:19] now listen
[53:20] to this
[53:20] it's
[53:21] finished
[53:21] wow
[53:22] what is
[53:22] finished
[53:22] no
[53:23] God is
[53:24] out
[53:24] of this
[53:25] place
[53:25] that couldn't
[53:26] house him
[53:27] he's out
[53:28] so Jesus
[53:29] Christ
[53:29] when they
[53:30] destroyed
[53:30] his temple
[53:31] in three
[53:32] days
[53:32] he raised
[53:33] the temple
[53:33] that will
[53:33] house
[53:34] God
[53:34] so from
[53:35] that time
[53:36] forward
[53:36] if you
[53:37] want to
[53:37] meet
[53:37] God
[53:37] you have
[53:38] to meet
[53:38] him
[53:38] in
[53:39] Christ
[53:39] the
[53:43] resurrection
[53:44] meant
[53:45] the
[53:45] resurrection
[53:46] means
[53:46] if you
[53:48] want to
[53:49] meet
[53:49] God
[53:49] if you
[53:50] want to
[53:51] have
[53:51] access
[53:51] to
[53:52] God
[53:52] you
[53:53] have
[53:53] to
[53:53] come
[53:53] into
[53:54] this
[53:55] living
[53:56] temple
[53:56] called
[53:56] Jesus
[53:57] without
[53:59] Jesus
[53:59] you can't
[54:00] get to
[54:00] God
[54:00] the
[54:01] resurrection
[54:02] that is
[54:02] the
[54:02] major
[54:03] statement
[54:03] of the
[54:03] resurrection
[54:04] now
[54:05] a new
[54:05] temple
[54:05] has been
[54:06] raised
[54:07] he said
[54:08] destroy it
[54:09] and I'll
[54:09] raise
[54:10] another
[54:10] temple
[54:10] I'll
[54:11] raise
[54:11] it up
[54:12] again
[54:12] I'm
[54:13] raising
[54:13] the
[54:13] temple
[54:14] up
[54:14] again
[54:14] now
[54:15] if you
[54:15] want to
[54:15] meet
[54:15] God
[54:16] God
[54:16] has
[54:16] left
[54:16] the
[54:17] other
[54:17] one
[54:17] he
[54:18] has
[54:18] left
[54:18] it
[54:19] that
[54:19] was
[54:19] the
[54:20] end
[54:20] of
[54:20] all
[54:21] the
[54:21] rituals
[54:21] in
[54:22] Judaism
[54:22] that
[54:23] was
[54:23] the
[54:23] end
[54:23] of
[54:24] the
[54:24] Sabbath
[54:24] day
[54:24] that
[54:25] was
[54:25] the
[54:25] end
[54:25] of
[54:25] all
[54:26] the
[54:26] laws
[54:27] the
[54:27] ceremonial
[54:28] laws
[54:28] and
[54:29] the
[54:29] ritual
[54:29] laws
[54:30] that
[54:30] was
[54:30] the
[54:31] end
[54:31] now
[54:32] everything
[54:33] is
[54:33] in
[54:33] Christ
[54:33] Christ
[54:34] is
[54:34] our
[54:35] sacrifice
[54:35] Christ
[54:36] is
[54:36] the
[54:37] blood
[54:37] of
[54:37] Jesus
[54:37] is
[54:37] the
[54:38] blood
[54:38] that
[54:38] gives
[54:38] us
[54:39] access
[54:39] to
[54:39] God
[54:39] Christ
[54:40] Bible
[54:40] says
[54:41] that
[54:41] he
[54:41] is
[54:41] our
[54:41] priest
[54:42] our
[54:42] priest
[54:42] we
[54:43] have
[54:43] a
[54:43] priest
[54:43] who
[54:44] doesn't
[54:44] minister
[54:44] in
[54:45] things
[54:45] on
[54:45] earth
[54:45] by
[54:46] ministers
[54:46] in
[54:47] the
[54:47] heavenly
[54:47] things
[54:48] he's
[54:48] a
[54:48] heavenly
[54:49] minister
[54:49] for
[54:49] us
[54:50] if
[54:51] you
[54:51] want
[54:51] to
[54:51] meet
[54:51] God
[54:52] you
[54:52] better
[54:52] come
[54:53] into
[54:53] the
[54:53] living
[54:54] temple
[54:54] which
[54:55] is
[54:55] Christ
[54:56] why
[54:57] because
[54:57] now
[54:58] he
[54:58] has
[54:58] raised
[54:59] the
[54:59] temple
[55:00] after
[55:00] the
[55:01] resurrection
[55:01] after
[55:02] his
[55:02] crucifixion
[55:03] he
[55:03] resurrected
[55:04] to
[55:04] raise
[55:05] a
[55:05] new
[55:05] temple
[55:05] that
[55:06] is
[55:06] the
[55:06] implication
[55:06] of
[55:07] the
[55:07] resurrection
[55:07] and
[55:08] the
[55:08] church
[55:08] can
[55:09] never
[55:09] stop
[55:09] preaching
[55:10] the
[55:10] resurrection
[55:10] when
[55:12] we
[55:12] stop
[55:12] preaching
[55:12] that
[55:13] we
[55:13] have
[55:13] put
[55:13] an
[55:13] end
[55:13] to
[55:14] our
[55:14] relevance
[55:14] we
[55:15] can't
[55:16] stop
[55:16] preaching
[55:16] a
[55:16] resurrection
[55:17] and
[55:17] that
[55:18] means
[55:18] that
[55:18] the
[55:18] cross
[55:18] is
[55:19] inextricably
[55:20] linked
[55:20] to
[55:21] the
[55:21] resurrection
[55:21] we
[55:22] preach
[55:22] the
[55:22] cross
[55:23] that
[55:24] ends
[55:24] in
[55:24] the
[55:24] resurrection
[55:25] that
[55:25] is
[55:25] what
[55:26] makes
[55:26] the
[55:26] church
[55:27] the
[55:27] church
[55:27] that's
[55:28] what
[55:28] makes
[55:28] us
[55:28] different
[55:28] from
[55:28] any
[55:29] religion
[55:29] because
[55:30] our
[55:30] master
[55:30] our
[55:31] lord
[55:31] he
[55:31] said
[55:32] kill
[55:32] me
[55:32] you
[55:33] want
[55:33] me
[55:33] to
[55:33] know
[55:33] that
[55:33] I'm
[55:34] the
[55:34] genuine
[55:34] religion
[55:34] I'm
[55:35] the
[55:35] true
[55:35] man
[55:36] I'm
[55:36] the
[55:36] only
[55:37] one
[55:37] qualified
[55:37] to
[55:37] start
[55:38] the
[55:38] godly
[55:38] religion
[55:39] he
[55:39] said
[55:39] kill
[55:40] me
[55:40] and
[55:40] in
[55:40] three
[55:40] days
[55:41] I'll
[55:41] come
[55:41] back
[55:41] and
[55:41] start
[55:42] the
[55:42] !
[55:42] somebody
[55:47] shout
[55:52] something
[55:53] he said
[55:56] kill
[55:56] this
[55:56] body
[55:57] and
[55:57] I
[55:57] will
[55:58] raise
[55:58] it
[55:58] was
[55:59] he
[56:00] raised
[56:00] or
[56:00] did
[56:01] he
[56:01] rise
[56:01] was
[56:03] he
[56:03] raised
[56:03] or
[56:03] did
[56:04] he
[56:04] rise
[56:04] he
[56:05] was
[56:05] raised
[56:06] and
[56:06] he
[56:06] rose
[56:07] to
[56:07] start
[56:08] to
[56:09] build
[56:09] the
[56:09] temple
[56:09] to
[56:10] be
[56:10] the
[56:10] temple
[56:11] to
[56:11] be
[56:11] the
[56:11] temple
[56:12] in
