[0:19] Saul reigned one year, and when he had reigned two years over Israel,
[0:24] Saul chose for himself 3,000 men of Israel,
[0:27] 2,000 were with Saul in Mishmash in the mountains of Bethel,
[0:34] and 1,000 were with Jonathan in Gibeah of Benjamin,
[0:38] the rest of the people he sent away every man to his tent.
[0:42] And Jonathan attacked the garrison of the Philistines that was in Geba,
[0:47] and the Philistines heard of it, and then Saul blew his trumpet
[0:50] throughout all of the land, saying,
[0:53] Let the Hebrews hear.
[0:54] Now, all Israel heard it, said that Saul had attacked the garrisons of the Philistines,
[1:00] and that Israel had also become an abomination to the Philistines,
[1:05] and the people were called together to Saul at Gilgal.
[1:08] Then the Philistines gathered themselves to fight with Israel,
[1:12] 30,000 chariots and 6,000 horsemen,
[1:15] and people as the sand.
[1:18] Oh my God, you have only 3,000.
[1:20] Which is on the seashore.
[1:23] In multitude.
[1:25] And they came up to encamp in Mishmash,
[1:28] to the east of Beth-evin.
[1:31] Then the men of Israel saw that they were in danger,
[1:35] for the people were distressed.
[1:37] Then the people hid in caves,
[1:38] in tickets,
[1:40] in rocks,
[1:41] in holes,
[1:42] in pits.
[1:42] And some of the Hebrews crossed over to the Jordan,
[1:45] to the land of Gath and Gilead.
[1:49] As for Saul,
[1:50] he was still in Gilgal.
[1:51] And all the people followed him,
[1:53] trembling.
[1:54] And he waited seven days,
[1:56] according to the time set by Samuel.
[1:59] But Samuel did not come to Gilgal.
[2:01] And the people were scattered from him.
[2:03] So Saul said,
[2:05] Bring a burnt offering,
[2:06] and a peace offering,
[2:07] here to me.
[2:08] And he offered the burnt offering.
[2:10] Now it happened as soon as he had finished presenting the burnt offering,
[2:14] that Samuel came.
[2:15] And Saul went out to meet him,
[2:17] that he might greet him.
[2:18] And Samuel said,
[2:19] What have you done?
[2:21] And Saul said,
[2:22] When I saw that the people were scattered from me,
[2:25] and that you did not come within the days appointed,
[2:28] that the Philistines gathered together at Mishmash,
[2:32] then I said,
[2:33] The Philistines will now come down to me in Gilgal.
[2:36] And I have not made supplication to the Lord.
[2:39] Therefore,
[2:40] I felt compelled,
[2:42] and offered a burnt offering.
[2:44] And Samuel said to Saul,
[2:46] You have done foolishly.
[2:48] You have not kept the commandment of the Lord your God,
[2:51] which he commanded you.
[2:52] For now the Lord would have established your kingdom over Israel forever.
[2:57] But now,
[2:58] your kingdom shall not continue.

[3:01] The Lord has sought for himself a man after his own heart.
[3:06] And the Lord has commanded him to be commander over his people,
[3:10] because he has not kept the Lord's commandment to you.

[3:48] I was thinking about why do I get these messages?
[3:52] Why?
[3:52] I believe that God is preparing us.
[3:57] And it took me back to,

[4:02] my formative years,
[4:03] my Christian formative years.
[4:06] And these were the core principles that had been anchored in us.
[4:11] And so,
[4:13] it had become your compass in life.
[4:16] And so,
[4:17] it's almost like,
[4:18] when you get to the junction of life,
[4:19] you know what you ought to do.
[4:22] It influenced our choices.
[4:24] We're never caught in a space where it's like,
[4:27] should I choose God or should I choose otherwise?
[4:30] Because these kind of messages,
[4:33] God had been so embedded in us.
[4:36] That with time,
[4:38] it became second,
[4:39] it became you.
[4:41] It became the message.
[4:42] It became the word of God.
[4:44] To the point that,
[4:45] it has been,
[4:46] it has become a guide all through life.
[4:50] A lot of these things,
[4:51] some of the,
[4:52] the Ephesians series,
[4:53] God's ever knew it back to back more than 25 years ago.
[4:59] What he's preaching is not new to him at all.
[5:01] But these were the times where you just had to sit down and just learn from God.
[5:09] Sit at the feet of Jesus.
[5:10] Learn from the Lord.
[5:12] Learn from his word.
[5:14] Commit your hearts to his word.
[5:15] And that was our becoming.
[5:18] We didn't know where God would take us.
[5:20] We didn't know how I'll have such a privilege.
[5:22] But it's just God forming himself.
[5:24] As much as,
[5:25] as you receive the word,
[5:26] don't receive it for knowledge only.
[5:28] But it's becoming you.
[5:30] The,
[5:31] the word became flesh.
[5:33] So that's what,
[5:34] that should be your experience.
[5:36] That's not just what you read in the Bible.
[5:37] That sounds spiritual.
[5:38] But it has to become flesh.

[5:40] it's like what you eat,
[5:42] you become what you eat.
[5:43] In the physical.
[5:45] So when you have tendencies of eating some things,
[5:47] it will show you in your body.
[5:49] And if you eat some other things too,
[5:50] it will show you in your body.
[5:51] The word of God is the same.
[5:54] It's the same.
[5:55] So when you hear the word of God,
[5:57] and it is food for you,
[5:59] not just knowledge for you,
[6:01] but it's food for you,
[6:04] you are becoming the word.
