[0:30] him as the truth is in Jesus, that he put off concerning the former conversation the
[0:38] old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lust, and be renewed in the spirit of your
[0:46] mind, that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
[1:02] Therefore, putting away lying, speaking every man truth with his neighbour, for we are members
[1:12] one of another.
[1:14] Here ends the reading of God's word.

[1:19] If you are born again, you have to put off something.
[1:25] God will not put it off for you.
[1:27] You have to do the putting off.
[1:30] So we saw that we are supposed to put off concerning our former conduct.
[1:39] The old man.
[1:42] Everybody has got an old man.
[1:44] So it's not old lady.
[1:47] Old man, that's your old person.
[1:50] When we talk about old person, it's not talking about age.
[1:58] But it's old because something new has come.
[2:05] Because of the new thing that has come, it has automatically given rise to the old.
[2:14] And so he said, now you have to put on a put off concerning your former conduct.
[2:22] The old man, which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lust.
[2:29] And I explained that it doesn't get better.
[2:34] Life continues to deteriorate outside of Christ.
[2:42] By nature.
[2:45] You are growing older and older and your old man is becoming stronger and stronger.
[2:51] So when you are born again, you now have to put off the old man.
[2:58] Romans chapter 6 verse 6 says that knowing this, that the old man, the old man, when you are
[3:08] born again, the old man is only good for crucifixion.
[3:11] Knowing this, that the old man was crucified with Jesus, that the body of sin might be done
[3:23] away with.
[3:24] And so you need to put away this old man with his corruption.
[3:29] The old man that does not help us to love God.
[3:33] The human nature naturally does not love God.
[3:38] Love for God is not natural.
[3:41] Love for God is heavily induced.
[3:44] The Bible talks about Romans chapter 5 verse 5.
[3:48] How the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts.
[3:53] How?
[3:54] By the Holy Spirit.
[3:55] It says that for the, because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit,
[4:04] which is given to us.
[4:06] So the love of God is not naturally repository in us.
[4:11] It says that when you come to Jesus, the Holy Spirit sheds abroad.
[4:16] It's like it's pumping love of God in your hearts.
[4:21] And so loving God is not natural.
[4:26] You, there's no human being who can be able to love God outside of Christ or outside of the
[4:34] life of Christ that is given to us.
[4:37] Because the fallen man will not seek God, will not love God.
[4:42] Praise the Lord.
[4:44] That's why the Bible says that the natural man is enmity against God.
[4:52] Just to be natural.
[4:54] So those of us who just like, they ask for me.
[4:57] That ask for me thing.
[4:58] That ask for me.
[4:59] It should be ask for your new man created in Christ Jesus.
[5:03] Because ask for me this is how I am.

[5:06] That's why you cannot enjoy God.
[5:08] For it says that, because the carnal man, mind, is enmity against God for it's no subject.
[5:16] I'll give a different translation and a new American standard version.
[5:21] Because the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile.
[5:25] It's hostile against God.
[5:28] Verse 6.

[5:32] For the mind set on the flesh is dead.
[5:35] The mind set on the spirit is life and peace.

[5:42] He said that, to be carnally minded is death, but spiritually minded is life and peace.

[5:52] For, because the carnal mind is enmity against God.
[5:57] For it is not subject to the law of God.

[6:05] So the more carnal, the natural we think, just me, and outside of the life that we get from God,
[6:16] the more we stay far or we move farther away from God.
[6:22] So we can see from Ephesians, the text we read,

[6:28] Daddy, put off the old Ephesians chapter.
[6:31] Verse 23.

[6:36] That you put off concerning your former conduct, the old man, which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lust.
[6:44] That's not all we are supposed to do.
[6:47] You put off the old man, but the next verse continues.
[6:51] It said, and then you are renewed in the spirit of your mind.

[9:31] Renewal there means it's the same as being transformed, being changed.
[9:39] By virtue of that life of God that has been introduced to you,

[9:47] the life of God is introduced into your spirit.
[9:51] And then from your spirit, it rises to work.

[10:46] This is what is called the soul of a man.
[10:50] So these are the aspects of your soul.

[10:55] your feelings, which is your emotions,
[10:59] and your intellect, which is your will.

[11:22] Your mind, your emotions, and your will.

[11:30] So when you see people, you only see their body.

[12:24] So Galatians chapter 5, it says that,
[12:28] walk in the spirit so you not fulfill the desires of the flesh.
[12:33] The flesh is the seat of your personality,
[12:35] which is usually in your soul.
[12:37] Your soul is not the flesh,
[12:39] but the expression of your flesh,
[12:41] it comes through your soul.
[12:43] So in Romans chapter 12, verse 2, it says,
[12:45] Be ye transformed.
[12:48] You are born again already,
[12:49] but you need to be transformed.
[12:51] How?
[12:52] By what?
[12:53] By the...

[12:59] Renewing.
[13:00] So your mind...

[13:04] Your mind is the leading part of your soul.

[13:11] it will affect your emotions and affect your will.
[13:15] That is why if God is going to really change your life,
[13:19] it has a lot to do with what is happening to your mind.
[13:23] And so the spirit is linked to your soul.
[13:26] And when the Holy Spirit is going to work in you,
[13:29] it starts with the leading part of your soul.
[13:32] That is why it said,
[13:33] Be ye renewed in the spirit of your mind.
[13:38] Does that make sense?
[13:40] So if your mind is okay,
[13:44] your soul will follow.
[13:45] That are your intellect and your feelings.
[13:51] The way you think is influencing the way you are feeling.
[13:54] The way you think is affecting the decisions you are making.
[14:02] If you have sanctified thinking,
[14:05] you produce sanctified behavior.
[14:06] If you have stinking thinking,
[14:13] you produce stinking behavior.
[14:16] That's why the mind is such an important aspect.
[14:20] So he said,
[14:21] Be ye, Romans 12, 2,
[14:24] be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.
[14:27] If your mind can be renewed.
[14:31] If your mind can be renewed.
[14:33] Renew, as I told you,
[14:34] is not just changing,
[14:36] but a new thing.
[14:38] Something of Christ has been introduced,
[14:40] which begins to affect the entirety of the mind.
[14:45] So he said,
[14:46] Be ye renewed in the spirit of your mind.
[14:52] Let's look at Ephesians again.
[14:53] Ephesians chapter 4, 23.
