## Transcript

[0:07] \[SPEAKER_03\]: We're not putting any of what we just said it.
[0:09] \[SPEAKER_03\]: This is where we're starting.
[0:10] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And this is the only place to start, even though we're not going to actually do it.
[0:17] \[SPEAKER_03\]: What's the worst thing you've ever done?
[0:18] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Oh, come on man, get that.
[0:21] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I'm not doing this again.
[0:23] \[SPEAKER_02\]: No, no, I'm not doing it.
[0:26] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Oh, that's so hard, I, I, I, I, I'm no saint, but I can't think of the worst, like when I think of the worst thing, I think of like horrible things and I I think I haven't done a horrible thing.
[0:39] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I used to have, I'll say this.
[0:41] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I used to like have
[0:43] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You know, you have like a dream that's like so vivid you're like, did I do that?
[0:48] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Right.
[0:48] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So I would have like these dreams where like I've spent significant amounts of jail time and or avoided jail time for having killed someone.
[0:57] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Oh, it's like like and then and then and then I'll be like and then I'll live in for maybe 30 minutes in the morning of like Is that my reality like
[1:07] \[SPEAKER_01\]: like have I done something like that and I'm trying to keep it and I'm trying to keep it hidden, you know, and if I have it's that's my trauma, like I've buried it.
[1:16] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Sorry, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
[1:33] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And it's it's bad, but not it's bad, but you're like, you know, there's something worse than this, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, for sure.
[1:40] \[SPEAKER_03\]: There's something that I like where I'm like, I'm like,
[1:45] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It feels so crazy that I'm like, did I really do that?
[1:48] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And I'm like, John, you did it.
[1:50] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Oh, yeah, I'll tell you off air I guess.
[1:53] \[SPEAKER_03\]: But the other, the one that I say that I would say was when I was, I don't know how old I was.
[2:02] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I was a kid.
[2:03] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I was, but we, we already established in the film.
[2:06] \[SPEAKER_01\]: No, but still does not count.
[2:07] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I think it don't count.
[2:09] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I think it can't be a count.
[2:10] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Okay, alright.
[2:10] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I think it still counts.
[2:12] \[SPEAKER_03\]: The other one is when I was a teenager, which is still a kid, is about to be real.
[2:16] \[SPEAKER_03\]: The real one is when I was a teenager, which is still a kid.
[2:18] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Okay, oh, yeah, okay.
[2:19] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Okay.
[2:20] \[SPEAKER_03\]: But the other one was when I was like, probably like, I don't know, maybe I was six or seven or I don't remember the exact, let's say seven.
[2:28] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And there was, it was in Sunday school and they had these birds in a cage.
[2:35] \[SPEAKER_03\]: What'd you do to the birds, Bray?
[2:37] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And so we what you did to the bird right when you're in the birth, no, no, don't build up the whole story, you got to go straight to what you did to the birds and there was a bird there is this bird in the cage and it was and it was like it's open cage and it was sleeping and I was like
[2:56] \[SPEAKER_03\]: That's crazy.
[2:57] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I've never seen a bird just like I have a bird, but my bird like it sleeps at night or we had to put like a towel over the cage for it to sleep and then I was like, is it a sleep and I had a couple of water in my hand?
[3:11] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And so I poured the water on the bird and the bird freaked out and it woke up and freaked out
[3:26] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Oh man, but see, here's the thing, right, this, the reason this doesn't count is you were so innocent.
[3:34] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like you are innocent in that.
[3:36] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And you after the fact you're like, I should have known better, but of course.
[3:40] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But you were an innocent child.
[3:42] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And I'm a innocent child.
[3:44] \[SPEAKER_03\]: You were an innocent child.
[3:45] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Exactly.
[3:45] \[SPEAKER_03\]: But here's the thing about.
[3:48] \[SPEAKER_03\]: whatever you've done that feels like the worst thing you are done.
[3:50] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Is it really about what other percept people's perception of what your thing is or how you feel about it?
[3:57] \[SPEAKER_03\]: That's a very good.
[3:58] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Because I felt so guilty and it's stuck with me.
[4:02] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Obviously.
[4:03] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But if you're not with the movie's rules, with the movie's rules.
[4:08] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You know, this one would be one, how I'm feeling about what you just said is like I give you a pass because you had example you were like going off of like an internal logic and understanding of birds and like and you were just trying to innocently see if you could wake it up you didn't know you know you were going to shock it to you know I definitely didn't know that but I did but I was kind of like.
[4:36] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I think I knew I shouldn't have done that.
[4:38] \[SPEAKER_03\]: You know what I mean?
[4:39] \[SPEAKER_03\]: You know?
[4:40] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I didn't realize.
[4:41] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It just makes sense to you that you shouldn't have done it.
[4:43] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It makes sense to you that you shouldn't have done it.
[4:45] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You didn't know you shouldn't have done it or you wouldn't have done it.
[4:47] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I think, well, you wouldn't have done it.
[4:50] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I definitely wouldn't have done it if I had known that person was going to die.
[4:54] \[SPEAKER_03\]: That's a hundred percent true.
[4:55] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yeah, a hundred percent true.
[4:57] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Would I have done it if I thought like the bird was just going to like freak out and then settle?
[5:02] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I don't know.
[5:03] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yeah.
[5:03] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I don't know.
[5:04] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I didn't realize.
[5:06] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, go ahead.
[5:07] \[SPEAKER_02\]: You know, Braylock just did it for the drama.
[5:11] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Oh my god, you you you you skip you skipped yourself saying I think I know you skipped me potentially saying He's ready to start to pull in perfect.
[5:24] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'm not ready That's the way you ended after we all do it.
[5:28] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We all do it
[5:33] \[SPEAKER_01\]: No no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no

[8:28] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Now, for those of you who don't know, there are three of us who host this podcast, and you're hearing three different voices.
[8:32] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And so the voice that you're listening to now that you're like, hmm, that was, that voice sounds like somebody got a flu, wouldn't dark secret.
[8:41] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Who wouldn't just jump down somebody's throat when they had made a name.
[8:46] \[SPEAKER_03\]: A really dark thing that they've done, or because he did the dark thing.
[8:51] \[SPEAKER_03\]: You know, that is the voice.
[8:53] \[SPEAKER_03\]: That's not a bright time.
[8:56] \[SPEAKER_02\]: A brain lit, brain, a little bit of person with a dark secret but say I so calm, you be like, when you literally said he has one, he's just not willing to share.
[9:04] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, I was like, we are on it, we are on it.
[9:07] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'm gonna tell you guys, I'm true.
[9:09] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Uh, uh, this voice just sounds like, hey, I'd be understanding what's going on as long as you tell me we good.
[9:16] \[SPEAKER_02\]: All right.
[9:17] \[SPEAKER_02\]: That's all I need to know.
[9:19] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Uh, and that voice is that of Jura Milligan.
[9:21] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Um, yeah.
[9:22] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I mean, and this voice has changed the third time.
[9:25] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I don't have any.
[9:27] \[SPEAKER_02\]: James is fresh off a flight from Boston, and like, so you're sweet.
[9:32] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'm going to let you do whatever you want to do.
[9:34] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Whatever you want to do, you can do it.
[9:35] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You know what I'm saying?
[9:36] \[SPEAKER_01\]: As long as I think I've nothing to do with me,
[9:39] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Wait, really, but not really.
[9:40] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Of course.
[9:41] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Okay.
[9:41] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Okay.
[9:42] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I don't want to show you free.
[9:43] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, a little bit.
[9:44] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Hold on.
[9:47] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Now, we are going to review the drama, Starings and Daya and Robert Pattinson, an A24 film that just came out, directed by Christopher Borglie.
[9:59] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It also stars Mama Dew at the, as well.
[10:05] \[SPEAKER_02\]: He did, he was known for doing like a, you're talking about the director now.
[10:08] \[SPEAKER_02\]: The director, sorry, he did a movie with Nicholas K's and people have dreams, dreams, papers, dreams.
[10:13] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Oh, yeah, that movie's fun.
[10:16] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, what's going on?
[10:17] \[SPEAKER_01\]: 24 movie.
[10:18] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
[10:32] \[SPEAKER_03\]: that some people might know, and if you haven't seen the trailer, check that out.
[10:40] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Pretty fun.
[10:41] \[SPEAKER_03\]: We actually talked about it here on the podcast a few months ago.
[10:46] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It's about a happily engaged couple who's put to the test with an unexpected, this says term, but I'm going to say secret is revealed.
[10:54] \[SPEAKER_03\]: That sends their wedding off the rails.
[10:57] \[SPEAKER_03\]: So far, it's doing okay at the box office.
[11:02] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Not as good as I thought it would base off of the online chat or $14.3 million opening weekend.
[11:11] \[SPEAKER_03\]: The budget was supposedly just $28 million.
[11:13] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I do think the word of mouth is pretty decent, round tomatoes.
[11:17] \[SPEAKER_03\]: currently has this at 77% and an 81% popcorn meter.
[11:22] \[SPEAKER_03\]: So that's pretty good.
[11:24] \[SPEAKER_03\]: But yeah, if you haven't seen the trailer, it's like it shows that's in days says something.
[11:31] \[SPEAKER_03\]: That seems so awful that it changes everybody's perception of her and then that's when the drama ensues.
[11:38] \[SPEAKER_03\]: We will be spoiling this movie.
[11:40] \[SPEAKER_03\]: So if you don't want it spoiled and you probably don't, this is the time to turn it off.
[11:45] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, and I would even say, I don't recommend you getting this spoiled.
[11:50] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I recommend you going green blind.
[11:53] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So if you haven't seen it, you know, download the episode.
[11:57] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You know, make sure we get them clicks.
[11:59] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You know, download the episode and then go see it in a minute.
[12:04] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yeah.
[12:06] \[SPEAKER_03\]: But let's get into initial thoughts.
[12:10] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I can go first.
[12:10] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I saw this movie open in night and I don't know how I feel about it.
[12:16] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like I'm I saw this movie and this may be the first time honestly since like the early days of Marvel that I've ever just sat in a theater and spoken to like other people watching the movie.
[12:30] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, uh, me and Jayla saw that was happening, you mean?
[12:33] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, like, what's the credits were rolling like some people left, but then there was a group of people who, like, everybody kind of was a little dumbfounded.
[12:40] \[SPEAKER_02\]: So like me and Jayla was there and it was like a group of of of, uh, 20 somethings and a front of us.
[12:46] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And I mean, we might have stayed in there for actually 20 minutes.
[12:49] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Well, that's like processing.
[12:51] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, just trying to figure out like, there was a lot of talk about Zindaya and like, what kind of movies and
[12:59] \[SPEAKER_02\]: You know, what the overall, I don't want to spoil it yet, but what the overall, what the movie was trying to say, and I don't know, um, and you know, I'm probably going to share with some of some of everyone collect it.
[13:09] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I mean, the movie was funny.
[13:11] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Um, at times, it was dramatic at times.
[13:13] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I think my biggest takeaway from the movie, which I think maybe the reason I'm leaning to it may be not my favorite is that I thought's in day.
[13:20] \[SPEAKER_02\]: This is another movie that I thought's in day.
[13:23] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It was going to be the lead of, but the movie, she is not the
[13:28] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And I I don't know something about something about like the the way to movie ends for her character.
[13:36] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I really really dislike even though they set it up But I don't know how I feel hopefully as we talk about it.
[13:42] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I can figure it out, but I was hoping to know about something we got on this podcast and I don't know man.
[13:47] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I don't feel good or bad about it.
[13:48] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I just feel like
[13:50] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Why did that happen?
[13:52] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I don't know, I don't know, I don't know.
[13:55] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I don't know.
[13:57] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And come, I can go.
[13:58] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Sure.
[13:59] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yeah, I think I totally get that.
[14:02] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I think ultimately I did like this movie because to me this movie, I don't know if this movie was crying to necessarily say anything.
[14:12] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I felt like this movie was a vehicle for conversations to be had and I do think it was successful
[14:20] \[SPEAKER_03\]: having provocative enough material for people to have conversations that are feel worthwhile.
[14:27] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And there's several things to discuss.
[14:30] \[SPEAKER_03\]: There is like the thing that there's a thing of like, how guilty should somebody be for something
[14:38] \[SPEAKER_03\]: they thought versus something they did, you know, is it possible for people to change like do we believe and reconciliation, do we believe in rehabilitation?
[14:50] \[SPEAKER_03\]: You know, also like if you learn something new about somebody, like should that completely change your outlook on them?
[14:58] \[SPEAKER_03\]: You know, what does that mean?
[15:00] \[SPEAKER_03\]: So there's like so many like worthwhile conversations to be had before even get into the spoiler stuff.
[15:10] \[SPEAKER_03\]: the supporting characters of this film, like the actors really stood out to me.
[15:16] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Mama do for sure, and some of the other main ones, but I'm even talking about the photographer, the DJ, the flower guy.
[15:28] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like I just felt like they I was like damn y'all are finding some like really like the per boss like there were just like really good actors who are like doing things that I really that really stood out and it I was like Impressed with that for some I don't know I just felt like that was cool and it was cool to see like
[15:48] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It was called a See Those Rolls filled by people who weren't like super famous, you know?
[15:53] \[SPEAKER_03\]: A great.
[15:54] \[SPEAKER_03\]: So I appreciated that.
[15:56] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And yeah, I had strong reactions.
[15:58] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I think, yeah, I mean, I, I was in day of it all as it is interesting.
[16:06] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I wasn't really thinking about that, though, it's, it's, you know, it's an interesting combo to have.
[16:13] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I liked her.
[16:18] \[SPEAKER_03\]: sense.
[16:18] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And then the the the girl who played her like young self.
[16:22] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I thought was really cool.
[16:24] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And great.
[16:24] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I did.
[16:25] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And that worked for me.
[16:27] \[SPEAKER_03\]: So yeah, I think ultimately I did like this movie, even though I at the beginning I was having a hard time because I was like, what the heck?
[16:35] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like what the what?
[16:36] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And then I realized like, oh, that's kind of a point is like,
[16:39] \[SPEAKER_03\]: You know, you're not supposed to agree with everything that people are doing or the choices people are making.
[16:44] \[SPEAKER_03\]: You know, and I'm not necessarily looking for this movie to try to bring home a message or anything.
[16:52] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It's more just about like, how do you feel about this?
[16:55] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That's how it felt like to me.
[16:59] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, that was that was my takeaway to was was that the movie was like a conversation starter and sort of kind of like highlighting a few things for you to just kind of like.
[17:12] \[SPEAKER_01\]: leave and rumenate on, I also did, I feel like the Zindaya and sort of the racial implications of Zindaya in a role like this, like I think I felt felt it for a second.
[17:27] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And then the media was like, oh, I guess I'm not supposed to be thinking about it.
[17:31] \[SPEAKER_01\]: about this and so kind of threw it out as the movie went on.
[17:37] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But that being said, I liked it.
[17:40] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I liked it.
[17:41] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I had a good time watching it for as good as you can have in the uncomfortateness.
[17:50] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I thought it was well made.
[17:51] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I thought the acting was incredible.
[17:53] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I thought everybody was great.
[17:55] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I loved that.
[17:56] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like,
[17:57] \[SPEAKER_01\]: the conversations were broken up with, you know, going into memory and, and, you know, and it's kind of surrealist representations of people and stuff like that.
[18:08] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I thought that was great because like, because when I saw that trailer, I know we talked about it a while back.
[18:15] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But when I saw that trailer, I was like skeptical about like, what, you know, whether or not I would be able to sit through this.
[18:21] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And afterwards I was telling Kat what you know what I what I liked about it and she was like Oh good because like at the trailer made me think it was going to be like another Malcolm and Marie and I was like That's exactly what it looked like it looked like it was going to just be like a bunch of people talking and I was going to be like so over it
[18:38] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like, I was really not looking forward to like just hearing people talk for two straight hours.
[18:44] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But I thought that they did a great job of kind of keeping it interesting throughout.
[18:48] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And like stretching the tension and then breaking it with the kind of comedic elements.
[18:54] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So yeah.
[18:54] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So I'm just going to talk about it more specifically.
[18:59] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But I'm oh, and then to your point about like about Zindaya and the ending like now hearing you say that is making me think like yeah, like she doesn't have
[19:07] \[SPEAKER_01\]: much to do.
[19:09] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We don't even see her.
[19:12] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah.
[19:12] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like, but, and then when the stuff is hitting the, hitting the fan, she's not even contributed.
[19:18] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yeah, that's true.
[19:19] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It's more about his processing of how things are happening.
[19:23] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And well, the other reason we don't see her as much as because her story is actually winds up being
[19:30] \[SPEAKER_03\]: or the flashbacks and like, and like, what she was like, which isn't Sunday, it's, it's other actress.
[19:38] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yeah.
[19:38] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And then even that actress ends up having scenes with rapper, like, a joy, correct.
[19:43] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Oh, she was fantastic.
[19:45] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But there was something I just watched.
[19:46] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And maybe you guys have seen it too.
[19:48] \[SPEAKER_02\]: John Boyega had an interview, and he was talking about Star Wars.
[19:53] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And he was very open about it.
[19:54] \[SPEAKER_02\]: He was like, you know,
[19:57] \[SPEAKER_02\]: That was the situation where the movie was promoted by a black person becoming a Jedi.
[20:03] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It was like, it was the big thing in the trailer, the trailer ends with him with the lightsaber.
[20:08] \[SPEAKER_02\]: So as movie was like, oh, it's a black dude.
[20:10] \[SPEAKER_02\]: That's about to do this thing.
[20:12] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Then when you watch the movie, the person, the black person, doesn't get to do the thing.
[20:15] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It's a bait and switch.
[20:16] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And he goes down in a history like what bait and switch is are.
[20:19] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And this movie to an extent,
[20:21] \[SPEAKER_02\]: felt like that for a day and I felt that a little bit too with the threesome movie because the threesome movie is like, she and the trailer and he realized that threesome movie is just about those two I too.
[20:32] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Oh yeah, it's like, she's in it.
[20:35] \[SPEAKER_03\]: But like,
[20:35] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Kind of.
[20:36] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I would say she's in it more than one of the white dudes.
[20:39] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, but like the purpose of her is to affect like that.
[20:43] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like the whole romance is those two dudes like look at the movie's not about it's not about Zindaya in the same way that it's about the the tennis player like even that wasn't even not I'm thinking about it, which is crazy.
[20:57] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Even that movie ends the final shot is of the two dudes battling we see a quick glimpse of their
[21:03] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, but then it ends with like the two of them in this movie again, she's there not in focus, but it ends with the dude You know, I'm just it's just like one of those things from like it doesn't end with her with her soft face So it ends is her she's in the middle.
[21:18] \[SPEAKER_02\]: So she's she's in the middle.
[21:19] \[SPEAKER_02\]: No, I'm talking about this this one.
[21:21] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Oh, yes She can't just movie this movie once she sits down.
[21:24] \[SPEAKER_02\]: She's not we don't Where I rap a paterson like we don't
[21:28] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But he's in the last shot them about to shoot him.
[21:31] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's not.
[21:32] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, it's the two of those.
[21:33] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Is it two shots?
[21:34] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's a two shot.
[21:34] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I just remember her coming in and we see Robert crying and shit.
[21:38] \[SPEAKER_02\]: No, it's not enough.
[21:38] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I'm like, does she do it?
[21:40] \[SPEAKER_01\]: She's doing stuff.
[21:41] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, she's doing.
[21:42] \[SPEAKER_01\]: She's doing.
[21:43] \[SPEAKER_01\]: He's just doing.
[21:45] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I don't even think he's doing more.
[21:46] \[SPEAKER_01\]: She's like crying.
[21:48] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like she's like more affected.
[21:50] \[SPEAKER_01\]: They're both crying.
[21:51] \[SPEAKER_01\]: They're both crying.
[21:52] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But he has the like.
[21:54] \[SPEAKER_03\]: But he has a close shot and she's no she has a close shot to then that's what I thought back and forth because she's like talking she starts to try to do the starting over thing and Yeah, I mean but like the whole scene I feel like it's him is him when she walks in she's out of focus and we focus in the beginning
[22:12] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Well, yeah, when she first walks in, she walks in and it kind of focuses on him and then she goes to the cow, and then she sits down.
[22:20] \[SPEAKER_03\]: But when she sits down, she's a person of Jordan.
[22:23] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It feels like they're, but she is deliberately odd enough to focus, you know, and to your point, meaning it is about like,
[22:31] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It is about Robert Pattinson in those moments, but then when they sit down and actually talk.
[22:36] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yeah, I feel like it's about it's supposed to be about it's both of them restarting.
[22:41] \[SPEAKER_03\]: That's why that's how I got it.
[22:42] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, I don't think I think you're right.
[22:43] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I think you're right, I think you're right.
[22:45] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Oh, like so that's funny.
[22:48] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I mean, I didn't feel like it was a full bait in switch because I because the movie is about like.
[22:55] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I mean, the trailer is it's like about them, but then it's also like she did something wrong and he's like,
[23:00] \[SPEAKER_01\]: process what would you do if you heard this yeah it is about that which which does mean it is more about his it is more about him yeah exactly because we don't really get
[23:11] \[SPEAKER_01\]: we don't really get, you know, what she wants for life now beyond like to get, just can we get married and move on for this?
[23:19] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, she says if we just don't get single moments, I'm anyway, sorry, I'm getting hit.
[23:23] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Sorry, I'm getting hit.
[23:23] \[SPEAKER_03\]: No, no, no, no.
[23:25] \[SPEAKER_03\]: So, yeah, let's just dive into it.
[23:28] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I mean, the beginning of this movie is a me cute.
[23:32] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It's also like, it's also like establishing the style of the film.
[23:36] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Oh, yeah, go ahead.
[23:37] \[SPEAKER_03\]: What was crazy?
[23:38] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, no, but I'm saying to meet cute like some one of the women after the movie goes there's a thin line between a meet cute and a stalker And it's the total attractive.
[23:49] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Everybody like in the personal how attractive you are as she goes.
[23:52] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Come on.
[23:53] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Everything he did with hella creepy.
[23:54] \[SPEAKER_02\]: He just happens.
[23:55] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It looked like rubber He didn't know they tried to like get five him or whatever.
[23:59] \[SPEAKER_02\]: She was like
[24:01] \[SPEAKER_02\]: She was like, first off, if a dude just walks up on you in public like that, no one is going to turn around and just be like, hey, let's start again, you're going to be like, what the fuck bro, it was a funny thing and I'm like
[24:14] \[SPEAKER_02\]: You got to have a me, whatever, it's like me, that's fine.
[24:17] \[SPEAKER_03\]: That is like most room for my kids come.
[24:21] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It is, it also sort of felt like this was to that end.
[24:26] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You know, it did kind of feel like what they were kind of establishing was that.
[24:30] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And maybe all, maybe a lot of relationships start this way, but like, you know, it started with a lie, you know, it started with,
[24:39] \[SPEAKER_01\]: with misconnection, you know, and then we're going to explore misconnection later.
[24:46] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like a lot of these moments, you know, because we drop out of this and he's there.
[24:52] \[SPEAKER_01\]: He's prepping his, um, not fast, but speech, wedding speech and like all of those moments to me were like strange, right, and but that, but it's supposed to feel strange.
[25:04] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Right.
[25:05] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yeah, and like she's talking with, what is the friend's name?
[25:09] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Who cares?
[25:11] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Ah, Rachel, she's talking with Rachel and what a perfectly cast.
[25:22] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And there's this weird moment that's also in the trailer where they're like, they're like, yeah, I just got this weird feeling, and she like,
[25:33] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Anyway, they're like, oh, it was just like intense.
[25:36] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, she has like a pedic attack or something.
[25:40] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah.
[25:41] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yeah, and this is though, she's talking about the flash back.
[25:44] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Oh, because they're cutting back before it.
[25:46] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And then she was like, and then Rachel's like, like, wait, but like you've been in love.
[25:51] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Is this like your first love?
[25:53] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And she's like, yeah, and she's like, wait, is it like your first love your first crush?
[25:56] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And she's like both, I think.
[25:57] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And like that moment is so weird and so awkward and I remember being so confused about it in the trailer I was like, what is this about?
[26:04] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And then even in the movie I kind of was like, what is this about?
[26:06] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like I still don't understand it.
[26:08] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I do either until we started getting her back so then I was like, oh, I guess this was supposed to be like I don't even know if you call it a red flag but like the first like notice that like she didn't have a normal childhood
[26:21] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, but also, you know what it was, man.
[26:23] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I, well, me too, what I noticed.
[26:26] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I remember at this point, which may have been before the title car came up, I was like, that's not her friend.
[26:33] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I was like, I was like, yeah, that was like this friend.
[26:36] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like this woman is also, it was just so funny.
[26:39] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Is in this moment, I was like, has in day it spoken to a black woman in a movie before?
[26:47] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
[27:01] \[SPEAKER_02\]: in the first Spider-Man had to did they had to spoke and if they didn't I'm upset but they had to spoken I'm just gonna say it was not because before this movie came on the escape to Tuscany or whatever movie came on you mean you mean you mean you mean Tuscany and Haley Bailey in the actress from I'm sorry I can remember her name the actress from one of them days
[27:23] \[SPEAKER_02\]: have the they're it opens with them talking like they're don't be calling me they did the thing and I'm watching this movie and I'm like yeah this white woman is not your friend and this one is too old to be your friend I was like who do you have I was like who do you have and this is the point in the movie you know you're freaking me out with this thing okay yeah the greatest showman you're right I don't she's not you're saying has she talked to a black woman okay the greatest showman she didn't
[27:52] \[SPEAKER_03\]: No, she did.
[27:53] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Um, challenge her.
[27:54] \[SPEAKER_03\]: She didn't.
[27:55] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Uh, do you know what we're about doing?
[27:57] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Is there a black woman in doing?
[27:59] \[SPEAKER_02\]: No.
[28:01] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'm saying it's gotta be spider.
[28:02] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's gotta be spider-man homecoming.
[28:04] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Cause it's not easy.
[28:06] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's not easy.
[28:07] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's not easy.
[28:07] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's not easy.
[28:08] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It's not easy.
[28:09] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It's not easy.
[28:10] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Malcolm, no, there's Malcolm, no, he's just doing it while she's just doing them.
[28:14] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Malcolm and Marie, she's talking to a black man in that, but not a boy.
[28:17] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Are there any other black women, I mean, you said in the movie, but in you for you, her sister and a case in you for you.
[28:25] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, her sister and mom, and she had the cover, it's got to be on the black women.
[28:28] \[SPEAKER_02\]: He's the undercover, so just you know, so that came up, he's the undercover, her whole family's black, and that was her choice.
[28:35] \[SPEAKER_02\]: She wanted a black mom and a black man, so the family's black, and then when
[28:40] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And her sister is black when you for you in the scenes between the mom and then they all come back if they don't like each other, but there's no other black woman on you for you.
[28:51] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So she only talks to her family.
[28:54] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah.
[28:54] \[SPEAKER_01\]: She'll talk to other black women in society.
[28:56] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah.
[28:57] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Well, she talks to the girlfriend in the first, and the first.
[29:04] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Wow, you're right.
[29:06] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I hope she knows.
[29:07] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Oh, she changed James.
[29:09] \[SPEAKER_02\]: James, James, James, you used to look at a James.
[29:12] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Remember the first when she doesn't talk like she's like, she's only kind of to, she's mostly teasing Peter.
[29:17] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, and she just appears.
[29:19] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like, she literally will appear behind her.
[29:20] \[SPEAKER_01\]: No, she does.
[29:21] \[SPEAKER_01\]: She's just appear.
[29:22] \[SPEAKER_01\]: She's a magical Negro in the first place.
[29:23] \[SPEAKER_02\]: So I don't know if she talks to him.
[29:26] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I mean, to Michelle, I think her name is.
[29:29] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Anyway, just, I just was like, right, one of my new bits now is gonna be, that deserves a Will Smith damn.
[29:39] \[SPEAKER_01\]: There you go.
[29:40] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That's one of my bits now.
[29:41] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah.
[29:42] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That's an interest that Kevin Hart is damn.
[29:45] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That's Will.
[29:47] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Oh, yeah, Kevin Hart's damn would be.
[29:48] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I don't see a damn with it.
[29:51] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah.
[29:52] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Damn.
[29:52] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah.
[29:55] \[SPEAKER_03\]: He's like halfway between.
[29:56] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I always remember it.
[29:57] \[SPEAKER_03\]: The cat will use it.
[30:00] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Damn.
[30:00] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That's fine.
[30:01] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's fine.
[30:02] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I was going to say, let's put up in and present day of thing.
[30:05] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I do that isn't just saying we can come back to it.
[30:09] \[SPEAKER_03\]: With the movie, though, you're absolutely right.
[30:11] \[SPEAKER_03\]: We should have clocked it that I didn't fully clock it then, but you're right.
[30:15] \[SPEAKER_03\]: not really her friend and that to the movie's credit is I do think the point.
[30:19] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I think so too.
[30:20] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And so anyway, let's just cut it.
[30:22] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Let's just cut to what I think we actually want to talk about.
[30:25] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Well, blah, blah, blah, they're preparing for a wedding and then there's a trigger warning.
[30:29] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Try to have a dinner.
[30:30] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Okay.
[30:31] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Who's the trick or winning if you haven't seen the movie?
[30:33] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Here's my thing though, if you have not seen the movie, okay, can I, can I actually just for a one second?
[30:40] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah.
[30:41] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Say my feelings about a trigger warning in front of this movie, okay?
[30:48] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Okay.
[30:49] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And it's complicated because I obviously have not experienced this, right?
[30:55] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But I think that this movie, having no warning, whatsoever, is part of the point.
[31:04] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like, yes, for sure.
[31:06] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I, it feels like it coming out of nowhere.
[31:10] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yes.
[31:10] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And now granted, that is centering the experience of people who have not experienced this, but I also think that that is also perhaps, the point too,
[31:22] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But to go into this, not having the trigger warning is like putting it in, it's literally putting it in your face in the kind of the way it would happen naturally, you know, you would be surprised and or thrown by
[31:38] \[SPEAKER_01\]: by it.
[31:39] \[SPEAKER_02\]: So I think it right.
[31:41] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I think you right.
[31:41] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I think like even I'm looking with Jayla text me that she would say she was like, um, one of the things I do think is wow that they don't give people a warning because we should be able to choose whether we want to see a movie knowing what that context is, whether you've experienced it, whether you haven't experienced it.
[31:57] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And to that understand that, but I remember we did the movie Blink twice or yeah, Blink twice and before that that came up What a trigger warning card before the movie and I felt like oh we all spoiled the twist of the movie Because I didn't know what this movie was about but again when I saw this movie with Jalen no one What her and her sister been to I instantly felt fear and like not in a when you heard it when it happened with the moment But the thing is it was a thing of like it felt very
[32:27] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Again, I don't know what they could have done, but I understand what you're saying, James, but it felt so dangerous in a way that I felt like, you could send someone back and not get them, like, this could trigger them and have them go back and remember something?
[32:42] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I can't get them back for them, but I've heard about this experience.
[32:45] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I've heard like, you know, because it wasn't more than for people how people at that school was treated, how she was treated, how some of the kids were treated,
[32:54] \[SPEAKER_02\]: what it was like being in those classrooms and having no one care in this movie felt like another example of not caring.
[33:00] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Exactly.
[33:01] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And to this point, like, you're kind of thinking throughout the movie, like, are we going to, is, is in day, are going to go to a place.
[33:10] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yes, that week that we can't get her back from to that point.
[33:14] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And I, and I, and I genuinely wonder what the solution is
[33:20] \[SPEAKER_01\]: because yes, like a thousand percent like you should be able to, you should have to you should be able to choose whether or not you want to be subjected to X, Y, or Z, and at the same time, like I think the point of how the movie is structured is to kind of like
[33:38] \[SPEAKER_01\]: two kind of like you be surprised by this, you know, and like it's and but yeah, it's tight.
[33:44] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's tough.
[33:45] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, it's difficult.
[33:46] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I and I I both I can sympathize.
[33:50] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I do it's hard for me in the context of art to feel like people need to give trigger warnings for certain because and maybe this is unfair, but I
[34:05] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I guess I feel it's unfair that only certain things, only certain things.
[34:10] \[SPEAKER_03\]: People are like, this is needs a trigger warning, whereas something else who were like, okay with it, even though it could have the same effect on a person like me witnessing somebody's relative died because they got
[34:26] \[SPEAKER_03\]: They were in a car accident and like we see that like, but nobody's advocating that car and if there's a car accident with a death, which in this movie there is right that that needs a trigger warning, but car accidents are pretty common and and so there are a lot of people who have that and like they could be, you know what I mean like it, I just, but I was like, perhaps we're on the road.
[34:50] \[SPEAKER_01\]: to that like on the road to like it was say, you know, before something like this on like HBO whatever, it would say that there's violence or whatever, it may even save the hit killer violence or whatever.
[35:01] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You know what I mean?
[35:01] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like it might even be that specific, you know, or whatever, but like, but with as things are progressing, it's getting more and more like, you know, this is what it's triggering.
[35:12] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's triggering these things.
[35:13] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And like,
[35:15] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You should be able to choose whether or not you want to be subjected to something like that, but in the case of something like where, by design, it's meant to punch you in the gut, or meant to punch certain people in the gut.
[35:29] \[SPEAKER_01\]: How do we preserve the integrity of that while also preserving people's mental well-being, or whatever?
[35:38] \[SPEAKER_01\]: or whatever is where I'm at because like I think you are right that there's a lot of things that don't have those warnings, but I think that I think it's yet.
[35:47] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I think like it feels like we're moving towards it being more and more prescribed in that.
[35:52] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah.
[35:53] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yeah.
[35:54] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Okay.
[35:55] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Um, and so they have this uh, they're they're they're like testing the food, testing the wine.
[36:01] \[SPEAKER_03\]: We're also getting a glimpse of the fact that they're a little bit like,
[36:06] \[SPEAKER_03\]: not as consider it like all of them, like not just for consider it because like the weight staff has pissed with them.
[36:13] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And so it's very clear that they've been and like throughout the movie we see a little bit of this like they're they're they're like the way that they treat and both it's both of them and their friends are kind of in on it.
[36:24] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It's like the way that they treat
[36:27] \[SPEAKER_03\]: the people who are working for them at their wedding like doesn't feel great, you know?
[36:33] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It's never really talked about, but it's just present throughout the film, which I thought was significant.
[36:40] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Anyway, they're getting drunk.
[36:43] \[SPEAKER_03\]: they're they're talking about the fact that they saw their DJ, they're pretty sure they saw their DJ on the streets smoking heroin, which is wild by the way.
[36:58] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And what do you do you guys feel like that is what she was doing?
[37:02] \[SPEAKER_02\]: So the thing is you couldn't so I don't know because I'm like I even when they show
[37:12] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, I don't, I don't, I don't know if you could smoke weed.
[37:17] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, I was like, it's one of the two.
[37:19] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But also she was doing it on a street corner said, I just felt like, yeah, it's like, no one's going to have to be a weed pipe.
[37:25] \[SPEAKER_02\]: You know, that's how it was thinking.
[37:26] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And I was like, this is also like a busy street.
[37:29] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like, it's like, it's like the front.
[37:32] \[SPEAKER_01\]: There were tons of cars come by.
[37:35] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And like, you know, she was in the front at the same time.
[37:38] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I like what it.
[37:40] \[SPEAKER_01\]: it did to the rest of the movie, you know, it was like, it was a perfect kind of thing to sort of get to wait and to have.
[37:49] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yeah, because they, because they was kind of like, they're like, we should fire her and Zendaya was kind of the one who is defending her a little bit of like, I don't know, like,
[38:01] \[SPEAKER_03\]: You know, what if this is your worrisome idea?
[38:02] \[SPEAKER_02\]: You're worse than it.
[38:03] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah.
[38:04] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yeah.
[38:04] \[SPEAKER_03\]: What if this is her worrisome idea?
[38:05] \[SPEAKER_03\]: We're going to judge her.
[38:06] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And also, if we never saw that, we wouldn't, like, this would have made a difference.
[38:11] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And the rapper has, like, but we did see it, you know?
[38:13] \[SPEAKER_03\]: So, like, it does make a difference.
[38:15] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like, you know, like, I don't know one of that kind of person on my wedding and it's like, what do you know?
[38:19] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And then there's like, what's the line?
[38:20] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Okay, would you have a pedophile out your wedding?
[38:22] \[SPEAKER_03\]: You know, and it's like, well, that's different.
[38:24] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like, you know, you know,
[38:26] \[SPEAKER_03\]: which I think it is different, you know?
[38:27] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And you know, it just brings into this interesting conversation about where is the lines?
[38:31] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And I think this is true of everything, like, obviously, and we won't couple of three men aren't gonna get far into this.
[38:39] \[SPEAKER_03\]: But I do think that it's relevant within the, you know, like the Me Too conversation, like it became super relevant of like, what are the degrees and like, are we distinguishing between these these things or what's the lighter, what's blah, blah, blah.
[38:55] \[SPEAKER_03\]: You know, in a cancel culture in general of like what's the line, you know, and also what's the punishment or penalty, Lucy K is fully a hundred percent back now.
[39:05] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I mean, he never really went away, but he said, but like, he never really went away, but it was like, it was still like a little bit like quiet and now that Netflix is like, all right.
[39:22] \[SPEAKER_03\]: So I'm believing.
[39:24] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yeah, no, but it just brings up this conversation of like, you know, what do we care about?
[39:31] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And so, of course, we get into it and they are talking about the worst things that they've done.
[39:38] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Mama due goes first.
[39:40] \[SPEAKER_03\]: The worst thing that he's done is that there was a dog.
[39:43] \[SPEAKER_03\]: That was attacking him and his girlfriend and he a rabid dog, a rabid dog, a rabid dog, biting, barking and biting at them.
[39:52] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And he wound up taking his girlfriend and holding her in front of him like a human shield.
[39:58] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And he said up.
[39:58] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Did he try to set it up yet?
[39:59] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like she was meeting him the whole time.
[40:02] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And I think it's his story.
[40:03] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It wasn't, I know one supposed to be funny, but he's like, yeah, man, she was so mean and then blah, blah, blah, and then when his wife goes, no, you told me, you used her as a human shield.
[40:13] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And he goes, I didn't use her as a human shield.
[40:16] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I think this was supposed to be funny.
[40:18] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Because I think, it's putting your guy, it's putting our guard down for whatever it's about to be.
[40:24] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And I, and oh, God.
[40:27] \[SPEAKER_02\]: So my first issue with this is,
[40:32] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Okay, I do not believe, I do not believe movies need to focus on race.
[40:37] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But I do think when things happen and people that color are the recipient to these moments, I think it does say something about one that it was in the movie, especially it was made by a white person that it was allowed.
[40:50] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But like I can tell, this part wasn't written for a black person for Mama do, but the way his wife disregards
[40:57] \[SPEAKER_02\]: like he says repeatedly, I don't want to tell the story.
[41:00] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I don't want to tell the story.
[41:02] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And shouldn't have had to.
[41:04] \[SPEAKER_02\]: He says it, like he says it so much.
[41:06] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Right, right, right, it does.
[41:08] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It does a two shot and she's like just tell him it's like such a disrespectful.
[41:11] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And then she starts telling it.
[41:13] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And then yes, and it starts.
[41:15] \[SPEAKER_02\]: even though he's still not comfortable with it.
[41:17] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And so even when he tries to give it a preface of like, hey, it was this, she cut some off again.
[41:23] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And I'm like, and this happens to him from her throughout this entire movie.
[41:28] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And I'm like, I wonder if that kind of stuff was on purpose from where we see Rachel's character go?
[41:34] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah.
[41:35] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah.
[41:36] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I want to put them like, was it supposed to be like, hey, from the moment you see her, this woman will be tried?
[41:42] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I think so.
[41:43] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah.
[41:44] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like, or at least I think you're supposed to at least think like she is not, by no means innocent and also somebody who is like,
[41:58] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I don't know, like, uh, very bullish.
[42:00] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's like, like once like once she sets her mind to something, it's like, this is what it is.
[42:06] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And, and, and at this time in this scene, I didn't have an issue with her, you know, I didn't like that she was making him talk about it, but, but I wasn't like, oh, I don't like this woman yet.
[42:19] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I didn't like her either.
[42:23] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I thought I was like, she's a bad partner.
[42:25] \[SPEAKER_03\]: That's what I felt in that moment.
[42:27] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And then the other thing about it was.
[42:30] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I do, I mean, obviously this kind of dynamic exists between men and women couples, heterosexual couples of other races too, but I was noticing the race element in this, I was like, oh, she isn't thinking about race, and he's not checking her on it at any point.
[42:52] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like, and I do think these relationships exist where it's like, they don't talk about race.
[42:58] \[SPEAKER_03\]: But they should be, but it's crazy.
[43:00] \[SPEAKER_03\]: But they're not talking about it.
[43:02] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like, I don't think they're talking about race and they're in their relationship.
[43:05] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And those relationships exist a hundred percent.
[43:09] \[SPEAKER_03\]: But like, it was very clear.
[43:11] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And I think the same is true for Zinday and Robert Pattinson, like they're not, and if anything, they think their biggest difference is like he's British and she's American, right?
[43:22] \[SPEAKER_03\]: 100%.
[43:23] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like, so, 100% right?
[43:26] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Now, I do think it's a disservice to the movie that it's never brought up at all because it adds a different layer to it.
[43:31] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And even if it's not talked about it's there, so I think we can still talk about it.
[43:36] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Because I think her being a white woman and being the way that she is feels very there there is she's like cloaked in her privilege throughout this movie and and her like
[43:49] \[SPEAKER_03\]: feeling like she's right, like her righteousness, like her righteousness is off the charts in this film.
[43:56] \[SPEAKER_03\]: That self-righteousness of like I am correct and like I have the moral high ground at all times.
[44:03] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Jaila, Jaila texts, yeah.
[44:06] \[SPEAKER_02\]: She's a white woman who always will find a way to victimize themselves to the next level, but she's just a straight-up racist.
[44:14] \[UNKNOWN\]: Yeah.
[44:16] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I mean.
[44:18] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I heard the thing she keeps saying after Zendaya has heard the deal.
[44:22] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Oh, I was just like, what, what, what does, what does, what's it now?
[44:27] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Granted beyond the fact that it's, you know, what's the catalyst for what, what happened with your cousin?
[44:33] \[SPEAKER_01\]: what does what does it is not going through with it have to do with your cousin right does not have anything to do with your cousin and also it simply doesn't and it's not you it's your cousin that you but the thing about it the thing about it is is that even before we get this end of the year we get to to Rachel's
[44:51] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And she describes, she describes that, you know, she ends up going to what is a van or something a trailer in the woods that is filled with like pornography and alcohol and drugs and it's with the weird slow kid in the neighborhood, right, she goes and then she
[45:13] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Her words, she pushes him in the closet and then locks him and gets some impulse to push him and lock him in the closet.
[45:21] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And he's screaming, terrified, screaming, and trying to get out.
[45:24] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And her next impulse is to run away because she's scared that he's freaking out so much.
[45:29] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And so she was like scared of him now, even though she's the one who locked him in there.
[45:33] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Then she goes home.
[45:36] \[SPEAKER_02\]: The dad comes around looking for his son.
[45:40] \[SPEAKER_02\]: She lies and says to everybody.
[45:43] \[SPEAKER_02\]: She doesn't know.
[45:44] \[SPEAKER_02\]: There is nail of freaking search for any search party.
[45:49] \[SPEAKER_02\]: To find his kid.
[45:50] \[SPEAKER_02\]: She does not say anything.
[45:52] \[SPEAKER_03\]: They don't find them to the next next day.
[45:55] \[SPEAKER_03\]: He spends the entire night locked.
[45:59] \[SPEAKER_03\]: in of closet and some locker in the middle of the woods, which is already a shady thing.
[46:06] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like, that she already sets it up that is a shady as thing he's locked in.
[46:09] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And the way of reason they find him has nothing to do with her.
[46:13] \[SPEAKER_03\]: She doesn't help it whatsoever.
[46:15] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And then they're like, what were you gonna do if they didn't find him?
[46:19] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And she was like, I would have told.
[46:21] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And it's like,
[46:22] \[SPEAKER_03\]: What?
[46:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Nothing.
[46:23] \[SPEAKER_03\]: You said literally nothing you said indicates you would have told.
[46:28] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like you would have told after it got into the worst possible point that it could, when there's even more, when there's even more, when there's even more and like you don't it mean like the longer you take to tell, the worst it is that you haven't told.
[46:41] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And so we're supposed to believe that at some point you were like, well, maybe he's
[46:50] \[SPEAKER_02\]: You, at that point, she traumatized a person and did an injustice and just brushed it off.
[46:57] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like Lily, she's, if you think about the story, she's kind of giggling like, she is giggling.
[47:01] \[SPEAKER_02\]: She's giggling while she's telling this story.
[47:04] \[SPEAKER_03\]: She has less shame about this story than Mama due does about his story.
[47:08] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And now, his story is shameful because it reveals
[47:11] \[SPEAKER_03\]: To me, it's like what he did is bad in the sense that every feels his true character, which is like, he's a bit of a, he's a bit of a coward.
[47:18] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yeah.
[47:19] \[SPEAKER_03\]: He's a bit of a coward.
[47:21] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And he, his flight or fight in sync is to leave somebody or like protect himself over other people, especially like a person who supposed to be his love, even if he's, even if he was in a bad, you're in a relationship at a time.
[47:32] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It's like, oh, you're a coward.
[47:34] \[SPEAKER_03\]: That's embarrassing.
[47:36] \[SPEAKER_03\]: But what she did is
[47:41] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Some, some you did it to somebody who was less who had less facilities than you and then you lied about it Big just because you didn't want to get in trouble like that's Why old and literally I have to she told that story.
[47:59] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I remember thinking what the hell isn't egg It tell because if the day I told this story I would be like, yeah, that's pretty bad Like that would make me look at you a different way for sure if you told me that story I'd be like
[48:12] \[SPEAKER_03\]: What's going on with you?
[48:13] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like, that's really bad what you did.
[48:15] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like, anyway.
[48:16] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And then you get the Rob.
[48:17] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And Rob's, so Rob's is the one that kind of makes me mad.
[48:20] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Cause he has to say it.
[48:21] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But because he like, oh, I don't know, I guess I agree.
[48:25] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I believe the kid and he had to move and cyber, cyber bullied.
[48:29] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Cyber bullied and he had to move.
[48:31] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And I, you know, only Neil, and I grew up at a time where that stuff started happening.
[48:36] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But also, it started happening
[48:42] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It was so new, and I know it still happens now, but people didn't have the tools to deal with it.
[48:47] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And so a lot of kids,
[48:50] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Um, couldn't handle it and make decisions to to to leave our level of our playing of living because of this kind of cyber bullying and so to hear him kind of like laugh it off and they move they move.
[49:03] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I thought it was going to go there.
[49:05] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That's I, but not remembering that it was in what's in day I said.
[49:09] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, it's yeah.
[49:09] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It could and I think to me when I think about what Robert when I think of the two white characters, the two white characters did something.
[49:18] \[SPEAKER_02\]: that could have caused with lit to Zindaya.
[49:22] \[SPEAKER_02\]: You know what I'm saying?
[49:23] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yes.
[49:23] \[SPEAKER_02\]: The things that they did.
[49:25] \[SPEAKER_03\]: That's a good point.
[49:26] \[SPEAKER_02\]: They didn't do that together.
[49:27] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And they don't think about the both are laughing.
[49:30] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Lily, Mama dude is fucking like this isn't the funny.
[49:32] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I don't want to talk about this.
[49:33] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, he's not laughing.
[49:34] \[SPEAKER_02\]: He hates that he did this.
[49:36] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Robert laughs, brushes it off.
[49:37] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like like Rachel laughs brushes it all and he doesn't get into specifics.
[49:42] \[SPEAKER_03\]: They're like he just is like I cybert bullied somebody and then she Rachel's like, oh, it doesn't count.
[49:47] \[SPEAKER_03\]: You were a kid.
[49:48] \[SPEAKER_03\]: First of all, you're 15 years.
[49:50] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It sounds like he was the same age, right?
[49:51] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That she was.
[49:52] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yeah, so that that obviously comes back into play, but it was like it was also kind of like
[49:57] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I was like, what does he, what do you mean, cyber?
[50:00] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Because cyber bully is such a generic term that it, I was like, what do you mean?
[50:05] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like, and he was like, oh, it was really bad though, like, it was really bad.
[50:07] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And it's like, what does that mean?
[50:09] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, what did you do?
[50:10] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Then he said it was a coincidence.
[50:11] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Oh, he could, his family could have just been moving.
[50:13] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Remember, he tried to like even down there.
[50:15] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That's what I mean, yeah, yeah, like he doesn't say what he did.
[50:19] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And it seems like what made it really bad was the fact that the guy moved, you know.
[50:23] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But what, what is really bad, cyber bullying, you know?
[50:26] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I mean, it's all of their posts, you know.
[50:28] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Real mad fishing, are you like, what did you do?
[50:30] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And also to be truthfully honest, man, like, look at our paddocks and I was like, man, you know he's bullying some blackie or some Indian kid.
[50:37] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like I was like, you know, I like I just know what kind of kid or some Irish kid.
[50:43] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Oh, yeah, right.
[50:46] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Then we get this in day and I.
[50:50] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Okay, it's crazy that she admits this.
[50:52] \[SPEAKER_02\]: So it's a great, but yes, great.
[50:54] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Doesn't make you sad, actually.
[50:56] \[SPEAKER_02\]: So I was sitting there like, why would you, why would you ever say this?
[51:01] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And but also to be a truthfully honest man, like, I will say after this movie, like myself, you know, Jello, everyone started having links kind of honest at me, honest conversations.
[51:11] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And I feel like people are starting to have a nose with me, in particular, after my show last year.
[51:15] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And like I understand,
[51:18] \[SPEAKER_02\]: the intrusive thought and how bad those can get there.
[51:21] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But also I think to her benefit, she didn't do it.
[51:26] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like, like, okay, let's just say what it is now.
[51:29] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, this is the official trigger warning.
[51:32] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, sorry, this is the trigger warning.
[51:33] \[SPEAKER_03\]: So she admits she says they're like, oh, what did you do?
[51:36] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And she says, well, I plan to school shooting.
[51:39] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And they were like, what?
[51:41] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yeah, she's like, yeah, I plan to
[51:46] \[SPEAKER_03\]: and they are like, they're laughing.
[51:47] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And by the way, I think I would have laughed too.
[51:51] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I don't like to go to the nervous laughter because I wouldn't believe it.
[51:54] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I thought you were like, all right, like, come on.
[51:58] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And isn't it only, isn't it only like Robert who's laughing?
[52:03] \[SPEAKER_01\]: He's really laughing.
[52:05] \[SPEAKER_01\]: They all laugh at first.
[52:06] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Okay, okay.
[52:07] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Oh, it may be Rachel doesn't because maybe Rachel is like this.
[52:10] \[SPEAKER_03\]: That's not funny.
[52:11] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Oh, yeah.
[52:12] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah.
[52:12] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And I thought that like immediately Marmadu was like, protective of Rachel.
[52:17] \[SPEAKER_01\]: He had only because of what's going on with the, with the.
[52:19] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Right.
[52:20] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Right.
[52:21] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like, oh, hit so close to home.
[52:22] \[SPEAKER_03\]: But then like, she's like, no, no, no, no, and he's like, yeah, but like, you didn't really plan it.
[52:26] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And he's like, no, I did.
[52:27] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like, I had a hit list.
[52:29] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I had a gun.
[52:30] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I brought just school.
[52:31] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I'm deaf, kind of from practicing.
[52:33] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And like, the reason that I'm deaf is not because of that I lied about the reason I'm deaf is because I was shot, yeah, I practiced shooting and the sound was so loud and ruptured my ear drum.
[52:44] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And it's like, okay.
[52:47] \[SPEAKER_03\]: That's intense.
[52:49] \[SPEAKER_03\]: That's wild.
[52:50] \[SPEAKER_03\]: We have to unpack this now.
[52:53] \[SPEAKER_03\]: But...
[52:54] \[SPEAKER_03\]: They don't really unpack it.
[52:56] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Rachel immediately goes into victimhood mode.
[52:59] \[SPEAKER_03\]: My cousin survived, like, my cousin's in a wheelchair because of school shooting.
[53:03] \[SPEAKER_03\]: This is like your horrible person.
[53:04] \[SPEAKER_03\]: How could you even do something like that?
[53:06] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And she was like, well, I was 15.
[53:08] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And she doesn't really care.
[53:10] \[SPEAKER_03\]: She's not trying to hear any justification.
[53:12] \[SPEAKER_03\]: She's already like, I'm done with you.
[53:14] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like your horrible person.
[53:15] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And everything is ruined.
[53:19] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, I'll tell you this.
[53:20] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I'll tell you this.
[53:21] \[SPEAKER_02\]: This actress, what does she, she's a haimest sister, right?
[53:24] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Uh, listen, I have, I have never visorally hated an actor like I like this one was fantastic.
[53:34] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like I'm a character.
[53:35] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah.
[53:35] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like she was, she was, because even she didn't speak like later on in the movie when she shows up to the wedding and she does not speak at one point.
[53:43] \[SPEAKER_02\]: The anger I felt by just witnessing her.
[53:46] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Right.
[53:48] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I know people we say this is actors all the time like, you know, you create a character and people will put, you know, people they know and stuff like that on top of a character.
[53:57] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I have never put every racist woman on another person like this, like every time I saw her I saw somebody who like like this woman when I was living in New York and I think you bring you and I talked about this like living in New York and getting off the train and walking down the street and there's like a white woman in front of you, but then like you kind of got a cross because you don't want her thinking you follow in her that happened to me with one lady to so off it.
[54:18] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I saw her face on this one.
[54:20] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I feel like her race is as white lady when she was talking is in there.
[54:25] \[SPEAKER_01\]: What's funny about that is like is that was that woman, I don't know the specifics, but was that woman racist or was society?
[54:31] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So racist that you So that you put on that woman that she's I will say this.
[54:37] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I will say this.
[54:38] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I I do understand like
[54:41] \[SPEAKER_02\]: living as a woman period, walking home at night, if any man is behind you, whether he's black, white, Puerto Rican, you know, and it like you will feel a danger.
[54:50] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But this woman in particular, I felt like I had saw more than once and she would look back.
[54:56] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And I think I said the third or fourth time I'm like, yo, bro, I'm tired, I'm walking.
[54:59] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And she still did the little tough thing and sped up.
[55:03] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And I remember feeling so much anger.
[55:08] \[SPEAKER_02\]: So that's why I can't say it.
[55:10] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like, yeah, yeah, no, that she did the tuck.
[55:13] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Oh.
[55:13] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It is in days throwing up and no one cared bro, no one cared for her.
[55:17] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I was like, yeah, and so clearly everything feels different now.
[55:23] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And so they're going through this.
[55:26] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And of course, like, I don't know how you guys felt.
[55:29] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I was like, immediately, it was like, this is an interesting thing to put here.
[55:34] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It feels worthy of like hiding the ball.
[55:37] \[SPEAKER_03\]: But I couldn't relate to how Robert Pattinson was feeling and how the other two people reacted.
[55:46] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I just felt like all of you are like, nobody's being a good friend.
[55:51] \[SPEAKER_03\]: You're certainly not being a good partner.
[55:53] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And even if you're scared, which I don't know if I would like, and maybe, and this is for sure sexists of me.
[56:02] \[SPEAKER_03\]: But if a woman who likes and diea,
[56:08] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Honestly, if pretty much anyone told me like, oh, when I was 15, I like planned to do a school shooting.
[56:15] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I would feel so much like, like, I would feel so bad for them.
[56:19] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yes, I guess in a way, like, I would be like, oh god, like, what was happening when you were young, where that your mind went there, like you must have been getting bullied like crazy.
[56:30] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Agreed.
[56:30] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Right.
[56:31] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like that's what I would immediately assume.
[56:32] \[SPEAKER_03\]: That's what I was
[56:37] \[SPEAKER_03\]: when we finally hear what's in day of story was, it is that.
[56:40] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like, it's not, like, if it was something else, like if she was just like, I don't know, like, like, it was like, no, I wasn't bullied.
[56:46] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I had a lot of friends, but like, I don't know, something really fascinated me about death and people dying and school shootings and like,
[56:53] \[SPEAKER_03\]: those people.
[56:53] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And then it then maybe at that point, I'd be like, Oh, yeah.
[56:57] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Oh, you're a psycho.
[56:58] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like, that's scary.
[57:00] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Now I can get on board.
[57:01] \[SPEAKER_03\]: But like the what she was describing was kind of like, I was just like, Oh, and I really didn't put this together until you said it's raw.
[57:10] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Because Mama do is kind of just, he's so involved with his girlfriend, he's like not even having an experience that feels like you need to himself like that character.
[57:21] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And so the other two white people, I'm like, oh, that's right, you two are the bullies.
[57:25] \[SPEAKER_03\]: You are bullies in school.
[57:27] \[SPEAKER_03\]: So you only think about it in the sense of like, your victimhood, because
[57:35] \[SPEAKER_03\]: even though bullies are sometimes not always, a lot of innocent people die in school shootings are horrible.
[57:43] \[SPEAKER_03\]: But the M.O.
[57:45] \[SPEAKER_03\]: is like, oh, I'm gonna kill these people who wronged me, right?
[57:50] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And so you're thinking of it like, oh, you're trying to kill me just because I wronged.
[57:53] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like, just because I locked you in a blocker over now, you're gonna shoot me?
[57:59] \[SPEAKER_03\]: You know what I mean though?
[58:00] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like, and I,
[58:01] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And then but then this also made me think this what I started thinking in this sequence was like I started thinking about all of the different disconnects that we had seen before and it also makes me think like how long Were they together like were they two years?
[58:18] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, and so to me, you know two years is even if you're with someone Every day two years
[58:28] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's not a long period of time.
[58:33] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And so like while no one was acting like a good friend, to me this was like highlighting like they aren't.
[58:42] \[SPEAKER_01\]: They don't really know each other.
[58:44] \[SPEAKER_01\]: They don't really know each other.
[58:45] \[SPEAKER_01\]: They've been like the entire speech was like, here are all of our disconnects and also we fuck so well.
[58:52] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And it's like, none of these things are things.
[58:55] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You're gonna talk about in your wedding speech unless you actually, you know, unless you've really sewn those seeds, you know, and then, and then, and then, and it, you know, so that was where I was, and just that was where I was focusing on.
[59:11] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It was always hard about this to me is like, I thought this scene was really tough, but I thought the scene once in day a gap back home was probably the hardest.
[59:21] \[SPEAKER_02\]: At least for me, it's like, when she gets back, it's her rubber padded since she is still throwing up.
[59:25] \[SPEAKER_02\]: She goes up the stairs and like, he walks in front of her and he's like, you just really fucked up right now.
[59:31] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, I want to talk about it.
[59:33] \[SPEAKER_02\]: He's like, you're drunk.
[59:34] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And then I remember Jalen being like, hey, he should be asking her questions that like unpack like how you got to that point.
[59:41] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And,
[59:42] \[SPEAKER_02\]: she does.
[59:43] \[SPEAKER_02\]: So then we start cutting the scenes we she starts describing how she was bullied and after the first one after the first one when she like gets her I I pet me I phone or sorry I pot not going to water it cuts back to them in a real world and he goes is that it.
[1:00:02] \[SPEAKER_02\]: like that literally she starts a scrap and like he's say is that it or does she just respond to him and he says he says it and then she goes into what that's not all of it and then it cut back to another story another scene yeah and then you can see her go could basically at the
[1:00:19] \[SPEAKER_02\]: To me, what that says is, is like, oh, because you haven't experienced this type of bullying, like, she says, I was on only blackheads there.
[1:00:27] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I track, like, she tells you the setup of why this was bad.
[1:00:31] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And for him, being, you know, a stranger, why do it?
[1:00:35] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It didn't feel.
[1:00:36] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yeah.
[1:00:36] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It wasn't bad enough.
[1:00:37] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It wasn't enough.
[1:00:38] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It wasn't enough.
[1:00:38] \[SPEAKER_03\]: What's is?
[1:00:39] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And again, like, I agree, the race element of this, not talked about, which is a problem because it definitely was a factor.
[1:00:48] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And that said, the larger context of this conversation is really interesting of like, like, what just the, like, it's crazy the circumstances people can get to to just the fine action.
[1:01:02] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And I'm, this isn't a political podcast, but I feel the need to make this connection.
[1:01:08] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I hate, hate, that in war people use this thing of what we didn't intend to kill these civilians, we didn't intend to kill Balblah and that makes us better.
[1:01:26] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Hmm, I don't care.
[1:01:27] \[SPEAKER_03\]: This whole like, oh, if you give me enough reasons to justify the horrible end consequence, like, no it doesn't.
[1:01:37] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I don't give a crap that you are like, you were like, well,
[1:01:41] \[SPEAKER_03\]: we knew there were terrorists here and we didn't want to kill people that were in this building.
[1:01:48] \[SPEAKER_03\]: But we knew it was a probability and that's just the that's just what happens in war and war sometimes there are civilian casualties.
[1:01:54] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It's like at a certain point like that's like it's not a justification you killed innocent people killing innocent people is not okay and I don't you know what I mean like so this whole like
[1:02:06] \[SPEAKER_03\]: him searching for like, well, if you tell me how bad you're bullied and if I decide that you are bully bad enough, that it justifies you wanting to kill other people, I'm like, that's crazy.
[1:02:17] \[SPEAKER_03\]: 100%.
[1:02:18] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It should just be killing people as wrong.
[1:02:21] \[SPEAKER_03\]: You can want to understand your partner better, but that's not what he was doing.
[1:02:24] \[SPEAKER_03\]: He wasn't trying to understand.
[1:02:26] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yeah.
[1:02:27] \[SPEAKER_03\]: He was trying to rationalize it for himself to make him not feel like, oh, I think you're a horrible person because I You haven't met my qualifications as to what justifies a bad thing that you did as if there's any justification for it And to the proof of your point, right is that he shows that again when he goes and talks to like Rachel and
[1:02:50] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Mama dude can remember his name and then he lads about Zendia seeing her neighbor that because he's like I just have to and then in then Rachel goes will I guess no one has to see that you know like then she finally like give her something Mama dude's like hey Like I mean that's pretty bad.
[1:03:09] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yeah, and it's just like are you kidding me?
[1:03:11] \[SPEAKER_02\]: That whole thing sucked man because I like
[1:03:16] \[SPEAKER_02\]: What sucks about this is that the next montage of scenes is literally Zindaya.
[1:03:23] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Again, as the lone black woman in the movie being like, do you not like me anymore?
[1:03:28] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Do you not want to do this anymore?
[1:03:29] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And like, right, you could see her little girl.
[1:03:32] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like she constantly, just.
[1:03:35] \[SPEAKER_03\]: We have to give her props, right?
[1:03:36] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah.
[1:03:37] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I thought she, she knocked this before, performance out of the park for me.
[1:03:41] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I think so.
[1:03:41] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like she was, yeah, she was really good at it.
[1:03:44] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I just, you know what it is, is that I wanted,
[1:03:48] \[SPEAKER_02\]: You know, I think because I felt like this character was so victimized, I think even showing the flyers back to her as a kid and being by herself, knowing that she's home by herself most of the time, like in a town when nobody likes her.
[1:04:00] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And like the fact that she gets into this relationship, I clearly, this, this, this, this girl who probably wasn't considered pretty much younger, but it's considered beautiful now.
[1:04:10] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Now has friends and no one truly has her back.
[1:04:17] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But I think he's awful.
[1:04:18] \[SPEAKER_02\]: He, I, I, I, I genuinely think rapper Pattinson is an awful human.
[1:04:21] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I think he's awful, like, I think him, how he talks to her at the very beginning, like taking a photo when she goes to get her drink is fucking weird.
[1:04:30] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I think he starts off weird and creepy.
[1:04:32] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I think he, in the fucking way, he was a hundred percent.
[1:04:35] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Are they, he just, yes, and to be fair, though, I do think that.
[1:04:40] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Zinday is creepy too and she has her problems and like the maybe part of the reason they are matching was because They're both a little officer in ways and you know, there's a part of me even though he is He sucks in this movie and the way that he handles all of this sucks
[1:04:58] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like I did feel like maybe the movie was trying for some sort of redemption where he does feel genuinely guilty about all the bad things he's done up to that point and like he's taken.
[1:05:12] \[SPEAKER_03\]: He's gotten some bad consequences from it obviously and literally beat up and like there's hope for them because to me it's like the problem was like he clearly in this moment, but maybe in their relationship, it's something it speaks to the fact that their relationship wasn't going that deep that he didn't realize
[1:05:36] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like, it's one thing for her to never have said, I plan to shoot at my school.
[1:05:41] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It's a different thing for her to never have mentioned to him.
[1:05:45] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I wasn't popular in high school.
[1:05:47] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I got picked on a lot.
[1:05:48] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I felt like I didn't have any friends.
[1:05:50] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like, I didn't really have a lot of friends growing up.
[1:05:54] \[SPEAKER_03\]: One of the reasons I'm making your friends, girlfriend, my maid of honor is because I don't have a lot of friends.
[1:06:00] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like I never really learned those skills and like, that's new to me, you know?
[1:06:04] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like when we learned all this about her, it made her character like made sense and I saw that stuff.
[1:06:10] \[SPEAKER_03\]: But there was no compassion there.
[1:06:11] \[SPEAKER_02\]: No, where?
[1:06:12] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I'm nobody.
[1:06:13] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like they were also self-focused.
[1:06:15] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like everybody was, well, I mean, then I say everybody's really just hurt.
[1:06:19] \[SPEAKER_03\]: uh, it's just for our patents in Rachel pretty much, but like, and then my mom do self-focused in the fact that he's just concerned about his girlfriend.
[1:06:28] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Uh, there was nothing there that was about like how do I, and then it was also like,
[1:06:34] \[SPEAKER_03\]: You know, oh, I don't want other people finding out about this because it paints their perception of her, but also me, you know what I mean, like it all it all felt self it all felt selfish, yeah, because it was it generally was and like, you know, I mean, again, I think there was
[1:06:54] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I didn't want so tough about this movie because the movie was genuinely funny in so many parts.
[1:06:59] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I was struggling with like, okay, so what part of my post to take serious?
[1:07:03] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Because he he starts freaking out at one point and I
[1:07:07] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I don't remember how far I'm skipping, but he starts trying to put the context clues together like if she's like crazy, because like he goes, when she comes up with the knife and he's freaking out and then she does this and he jumps.
[1:07:18] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But then also he starts cutting back to I guess moments where she's gotten there, like you look at the car and it's maximum door sex.
[1:07:27] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I'm not going to lie to you.
[1:07:28] \[SPEAKER_02\]: That scene was so funny to me because also she looks at on one more
[1:07:35] \[SPEAKER_02\]: That extra one, that extra one, that's it.
[1:07:38] \[SPEAKER_01\]: No, I'm sorry.
[1:07:39] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Listen, I'm not allowed to use like I won't do it again.
[1:07:42] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Pause.
[1:07:45] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And I don't have a lot of you.
[1:07:46] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Also, sometimes I have dumb man things.
[1:07:50] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And I struggle when it comes to the day because I think because she normally plays a kid.
[1:07:54] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Now, I understand she's playing adult snow.
[1:07:57] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But like, she's like, oh boy, she's like, she is, but like, she's played a kid from a kid, you know?
[1:08:01] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I know.
[1:08:02] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But like, there's a one point, he's freaking out.
[1:08:04] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It's not playing at a dog.
[1:08:05] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Sorry, she isn't out.
[1:08:06] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yes, she is.
[1:08:07] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Going on 31.
[1:08:08] \[SPEAKER_02\]: How about that?
[1:08:09] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But at one point, they just have her in like, launch array with a big as gun.
[1:08:15] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It did, I like the Jaila and Jaila goes, I mean, you would have to go home to that, like who's saying no and I was like she was like, I mean, I guess you could become a gunfan and I was like, I think I would.
[1:08:25] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I think I would.
[1:08:27] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Okay, home is a day of sitting there beautiful with a gun like this on the pro.
[1:08:30] \[SPEAKER_02\]: She literally,
[1:08:31] \[SPEAKER_02\]: became an activist, bro, like she became an activist and told you the story of how it didn't happen and how she found her friends and stuff by doing this.
[1:08:44] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And his question outside is really a beautiful story.
[1:08:47] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It is a wonderful question.
[1:08:48] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But his question out of that flashback was,
[1:08:52] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But you were still going to do it.
[1:08:54] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Someone just beat you to it.
[1:08:56] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That was, that was, that was what he heard.
[1:08:59] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But that was before she even, that was before she even said that.
[1:09:03] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Oh, yeah, that was before she said that part.
[1:09:05] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Because before she said that part, and I mean to me,
[1:09:09] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I don't know, like, I'm, I was on the ride because of the, the ticking clock of the wedding, you know, like sure everyone's being so selfish because they got to get married on Saturday.
[1:09:20] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I didn't marry that much money.
[1:09:22] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It costs and it's true.
[1:09:25] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And I don't know if that's a, I don't know if they get a complete past, you know, because all of these, I think all of these points are, are, are hell of all, especially the,
[1:09:34] \[SPEAKER_03\]: No one was whispering that these characters have and yet nobody on her side literally was a dick like what literally terrible that that actress was great to us.
[1:09:44] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, oh my god She was a Photography person was my one of my favorites.
[1:09:48] \[SPEAKER_02\]: That scene was that time.
[1:09:50] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Oh, yeah First scene a natural smile just a yeah like a like a like a natural like a normal So no more smell like you just like
[1:09:57] \[SPEAKER_03\]: like you're smiling at somebody.
[1:09:59] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, you're just no more smile.
[1:10:00] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, just like a normal everyday smile.
[1:10:03] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, you know what, we got time.
[1:10:04] \[SPEAKER_02\]: We'd get there, we'll get it all the day.
[1:10:07] \[SPEAKER_03\]: You know what, and come back and come back here and come in your here, right?
[1:10:13] \[SPEAKER_02\]: way she was always like so she that's what she was from uh... scholars say that was logan's assistant on six o'clock she was that's it she was so new year to like all these actors felt like very new you're a doctor also like you're talking about the um... plant guy uh... the kind guy was
[1:10:33] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, just he had that one line, just that one inflection of what was it?
[1:10:38] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Am I interrupting something?
[1:10:39] \[SPEAKER_01\]: He was like, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, me too.
[1:10:41] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, I'm on the edge, I'm on the edge.
[1:10:44] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And I'm like, yeah, I'm your dick.
[1:10:45] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yeah, yeah, I'm your dick.
[1:10:47] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I'm your dick.
[1:10:47] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Didn't it?
[1:10:48] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Dude, he hasn't met at DJ, like the DJ that comes in.
[1:10:51] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I was like, this is, are you a gear head?
[1:10:53] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Are you a gear head?
[1:10:55] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Oh my god, get out of here bro.
[1:10:57] \[SPEAKER_03\]: You're about to talk to me about DJ.
[1:10:58] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yo, he was so funny.
[1:11:01] \[SPEAKER_03\]: name that he got he goes when he said he said name the most you know one most important thing Like a DJ like what's the most important thing about a DJ and literally out loud.
[1:11:12] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I said the music It's an and then he went and it's not the music
[1:11:21] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I will say this, one of the biggest moments in the movie, at least noise-wise in my theater was Robert Patterson is talking to his coworker and we're like, bro, shut up.
[1:11:34] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, and he's like, what about if, you know, your partner Blake?
[1:11:37] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, what about if Blake, you know, planned a school shooting?
[1:11:41] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, I will call the cop.
[1:11:42] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, you know, I was like, watch, shut up.
[1:11:44] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Bro, everybody might think it was like shut up shut up when he smacked that cup and stormed off I was I literally was like oh, she's gonna think big he did.
[1:11:53] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yeah, did it right?
[1:11:54] \[SPEAKER_02\]: That's what I'm gonna say I was it is when he kissed her and she kissed back.
[1:11:58] \[SPEAKER_02\]: My theater went nuts But then she kissed him back and then when she turned herself around and pulled up her skirt I was like oh shit
[1:12:08] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's even funnier and thinking about at the end when her mic is up and you just hear going and I said no no stop.
[1:12:21] \[SPEAKER_03\]: You know, we hear her saying, do our boyfriend and literally turned around and pulled up her spirit.
[1:12:27] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I kept waiting for him to say that out loud.
[1:12:30] \[SPEAKER_01\]: No, at some point.
[1:12:31] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But I also, oh, yeah, that's right.
[1:12:34] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Because he kept needing to do it like defend himself when it gets revealed later.
[1:12:39] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And he never goes, she, that would have been the first thing I'm, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she,
[1:12:49] \[SPEAKER_02\]: literally that part was so crazy because her story about when he he does ask her what's the worst thing she'd ever done.
[1:12:56] \[SPEAKER_02\]: She goes cheating.
[1:12:57] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And she kind of is so chill about it.
[1:12:59] \[SPEAKER_03\]: She's really chill.
[1:13:01] \[SPEAKER_02\]: She's super chill.
[1:13:02] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And then when that happened, her only words after that is, uh, bro, you like, you rip my blouse.
[1:13:09] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Oh, well, okay.
[1:13:11] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It's so funny because she, like, he goes to kiss her.
[1:13:14] \[SPEAKER_03\]: She pulls back instinctually.
[1:13:15] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And then,
[1:13:17] \[SPEAKER_03\]: and then she goes to kiss him and then they're making out.
[1:13:19] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Then he rips her blouse off and she's 1,000% into it.
[1:13:25] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And she turns around and bends over and then he freaks out and he's like, no, no, no, I can't, sorry, I can't.
[1:13:32] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And then she's just like, and really calmly pulls her skirt back down.
[1:13:38] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Close her mouth and I literally was like, this is the most awkward.
[1:13:46] \[SPEAKER_03\]: offend you and then the other person backs out but you're like you're the one who's undressed yeah like that has to be the most humiliating and then she goes and then you still come to the wedding she still shows up to the wedding and it works immediately thanks that James and it's been here in the
[1:14:04] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But she doesn't look off breaking.
[1:14:06] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I was like, bro, you can't come and hit grilling Zindaya like this like Lily Zindaya went from having her friend Rachel look at her and then having that woman walk past her looking at her.
[1:14:17] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And this one, I don't know who knows what that how real that was, but then even she's in the bathroom and we hear the words about like Did she make that up or like there's a potential that what Centaio was overhearing was not her talking about
[1:14:37] \[SPEAKER_03\]: The school shooting, maybe?
[1:14:39] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I thought it was so clear about her.
[1:14:41] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, I think she shot up a school or something.
[1:14:43] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Then they say something.
[1:14:44] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, it was that shot up.
[1:14:45] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Oh, was that?
[1:14:46] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It was something.
[1:14:47] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Who said it was that, but I guess the question is, is that really what was said?
[1:14:53] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Because when she comes in, she immediately just thinks it's about the cheating and she seems confused.
[1:15:00] \[SPEAKER_03\]: As you would, as you would think that that's what it's about.
[1:15:03] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, oh, Scott was like, I read it more as Zenday and her hit.
[1:15:07] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yeah, I thought so, but we heard it too, but we don't, but we're hearing thing, like, they're from their perspective, but I, the other, sorry.
[1:15:16] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I forgot the literal words, because there was a part of me that wondered if she was saying, she was recounting what happened that led up to this cheating thing.
[1:15:26] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like, I don't know, he said something about
[1:15:30] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like, what, like, them shooting up a school or something?
[1:15:33] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like, I thought, baby, she was talking about the conversation that her and Robert Pethan thought.
[1:15:40] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yeah, that's what I thought.
[1:15:42] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yeah.
[1:15:42] \[SPEAKER_03\]: You know what I thought it was, too.
[1:15:43] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And it wasn't about Zendaya.
[1:15:45] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It was about their them.
[1:15:46] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And then when she said, I overheard you's talking, she was like, oh my God, and I, she overheard me talking about the fact that I kissed Robert Pattinson.
[1:15:55] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yes.
[1:15:55] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And so we definitely do hear she in the and when she's listening to the door, we hear she, but I, but I also was like, yeah, we must have been talking about the other thing, because why would she be going around telling everyone quietly telling everyone about the wedding?
[1:16:11] \[SPEAKER_03\]: This, yeah, that does make sense.
[1:16:13] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yeah, it wasn't, that's not what was happening.
[1:16:15] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Anyway, I, that was all insane.
[1:16:18] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Also, Robert Pattinson acts great like not only that, but like him like stopping the cousin on the street.
[1:16:25] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It was like, what are you trying to do?
[1:16:28] \[SPEAKER_02\]: How close are you?
[1:16:29] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like are you are you guys?
[1:16:31] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Where is this conversation going?
[1:16:33] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I do like the he finally caught out Rachel and was like, you said you said he was still yours.
[1:16:38] \[SPEAKER_02\]: You said he was like, you like.
[1:16:40] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yeah, I'm like you, I'm like you, she didn't actually do the thing.
[1:16:44] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, I just wish he believed it, because that's the thing.
[1:16:46] \[SPEAKER_02\]: She didn't do it, and she became an activist, bro.
[1:16:49] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like, this is the whole point.
[1:16:52] \[SPEAKER_03\]: She didn't do it.
[1:16:53] \[SPEAKER_02\]: She didn't do it.
[1:16:54] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And the whole, the, I do think the most profound moment of this movie is Rara Patons and talking about like,
[1:17:02] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I do think it's a little bit about American culture.
[1:17:04] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like think about how often people see school shootings.
[1:17:07] \[SPEAKER_03\]: How many times people might think about harming somebody else or doing something like this or wanting to lash out.
[1:17:15] \[SPEAKER_03\]: There must be, and don't enact a act on it.
[1:17:18] \[SPEAKER_03\]: We would never know.
[1:17:18] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like there must be thousands of people like that.
[1:17:21] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And I think the reality is, in Hungary, we hate talking about this because it scares us.
[1:17:26] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like it scares us as human beings.
[1:17:27] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It scares us as other people.
[1:17:28] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It scares us of ourselves.
[1:17:30] \[SPEAKER_03\]: human beings are capable of vile horrible things.
[1:17:34] \[SPEAKER_03\]: The thoughts that come across our mind are like, we have bad thoughts.
[1:17:39] \[SPEAKER_03\]: We have bad intrusive thoughts.
[1:17:41] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It could be harming ourselves.
[1:17:42] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It could be harming other people.
[1:17:44] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It could be like cheating, doing any, like all these bad things that you might like think about.
[1:17:50] \[SPEAKER_03\]: But like,
[1:17:52] \[SPEAKER_03\]: there is a difference between thinking about it and doing it.
[1:17:56] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And like, yes, she went through the steps and she almost got there and it's scary.
[1:18:00] \[SPEAKER_03\]: She needs to unpack that.
[1:18:02] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like, I was like, it's crazy that he never was like, did you ever go to a therapist?
[1:18:06] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like, like, is this, he is like that.
[1:18:10] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But he, you know, he, he does not say, because he's scared, he's scared, he's scared.
[1:18:15] \[SPEAKER_01\]: He's scared.
[1:18:16] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah.
[1:18:17] \[SPEAKER_01\]: He's scared to say it.
[1:18:17] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That's why he dances around it.
[1:18:22] \[SPEAKER_03\]: But it is this thing of like, I think mo, I think when I say most, I just mean majority and of course because it includes men and it's definitely a lot of men.
[1:18:32] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I think most human beings are capable of violence like, yeah.
[1:18:37] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And obviously, as countries we do it, we enact it constantly and we seemingly don't care about it.
[1:18:43] \[SPEAKER_03\]: We are such violent, we're such a violent species.
[1:18:46] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And so the idea that you would be so freaked out that somebody have the thought of committing violence is like, you know, it's like people like putting on this like per... it's like a parade, it's not a parade, it's like it's theater, it's like it's fake, you know, like, you shouldn't be shocked by it.
[1:19:05] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Now, if you want to go, okay, but like,
[1:19:08] \[SPEAKER_03\]: How close to the edge are you?
[1:19:10] \[SPEAKER_03\]: If you were, then are you still now how close to that tipping point are you?
[1:19:15] \[SPEAKER_03\]: All those things are like, that's what we want to know about.
[1:19:17] \[SPEAKER_03\]: There are people who are much more closer to enacting violence than others, right?
[1:19:22] \[SPEAKER_03\]: There are much quicker, their pans are on that trigger, much quicker, you know, whatever.
[1:19:27] \[SPEAKER_03\]: But the thought in and of itself shouldn't be like,
[1:19:32] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Oh, I can't think of like your cycle path.
[1:19:35] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like that's immediately where he's going, you know, and I don't know.
[1:19:38] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That's what I was telling you.
[1:19:39] \[SPEAKER_01\]: This is why this is because to me is why I think it is.
[1:19:43] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So.
[1:19:45] \[SPEAKER_01\]: important to a specific, people with a very specific frame of reference, to be blindsided by the reveal, you know, because of that reality that like it's like you are not even expecting it to be that.
[1:20:01] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And then suddenly you are confronted by it, you know, and I ended, yeah, I did, I was, I was super moved by that particular speech.
[1:20:12] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, I will say, once we get into, you know, just skip ahead a little bit, just once we get to the wedding and when Robert Pattinson does his speech, my mind goes to, bro, why you,
[1:20:29] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Why are you doing this?
[1:20:30] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, like, because the thing is, because in my mind, I was like the only person this is about to hurt is in India.
[1:20:37] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, is like, is the wife who is already the entire wedding, could you imagine getting married?
[1:20:44] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Think of this one to be the best time of your life.
[1:20:45] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, would you believe your best friend is?
[1:20:47] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Doesn't talk to you?
[1:20:49] \[SPEAKER_02\]: The husband you're about to marry has, like, you've learned.
[1:20:53] \[SPEAKER_02\]: cheated on you, uh, you know, like you think people are spending rumors about your darkest secret.
[1:21:00] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And it is your wedding day.
[1:21:02] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And now your fiance, well, sorry, your husband.
[1:21:04] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Because you married this nigga, your husband is stood up.
[1:21:07] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And it's told everybody, like he's like, I get to his hand of breakdown.
[1:21:11] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But he's telling everybody and a thing that hurt me the most about this scene and I get it is that and I didn't say this to jail and everybody else is that we've established as in day it does not judge people based on their worst day, but I think I think if you're talking about women and if you're talking about black women in particular, there is a thing of women having to stomach and forgive some of the worst things that men do in black women in particular.
[1:21:40] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I feel like always show up to help, but always are the ones that are like turning the other cheek.
[1:21:46] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And this movie, we don't even truly see the fallout effector because the moment she did, we see a couple of quick shots of her and like everyone else looking around, the dude comes up, hey, buzz him, then we cut to Robert Patterson in the house, like bloody face.
[1:22:01] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And he puts on his song, his happy song, it starts dancing.
[1:22:05] \[SPEAKER_02\]: We cut back, his and dad, grabs her coat, walks out, and we see her leaving.
[1:22:11] \[SPEAKER_02\]: The chaos rubber pads and everyone being like leave me alone leave me alone leave me alone And we don't season day again until like rubber pads and ghosts of the diner when she shows up She's kind of faint and yes, we see her when she's about to fucking forgive him
[1:22:26] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, we see, after everything is woman's been through, she gets to tell off now, one person, she doesn't get to defend herself, so one person in the movie is with her new husband, doing her horrendous things on her wedding day, and it is with her forgiving hip, which I get it, you gotta forgive them, you gotta forgive them, but God damn, could this woman get a fucking piece of righteous anger
[1:22:55] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, she doesn't have to, but we've established it.
[1:22:59] \[SPEAKER_02\]: That's what she does and I get it and I think that's beautiful.
[1:23:01] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I just want to hurt like, you wrong with me.
[1:23:03] \[SPEAKER_02\]: You hurt my, like, you, you, you get to see it.
[1:23:06] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Does that get cut off in the, in the scene when she first finds out?
[1:23:09] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like, she doesn't really get to, she was trying to ask you.
[1:23:12] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, what is it?
[1:23:12] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, she didn't even say it.
[1:23:14] \[SPEAKER_02\]: She was just almost like trying to figure out what was happening.
[1:23:16] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And then we cut to the next scene and everybody's walking down to the speech.
[1:23:20] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It heard biggest thing is she doesn't want to talk to her in the speech.
[1:23:25] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Again, I understand if she, she forgive some of you establish it.
[1:23:28] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I just want her to say, you didn't have my back like, if out of anybody, you are the one who haven't changed, like, you know, something, give me something.
[1:23:38] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Give her something.
[1:23:39] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Well, I think I think I totally and I understand people wanting that for their own catharsis and I felt like,
[1:23:52] \[SPEAKER_03\]: in that moment, she was going like, she recognized that he was, he was already so low, like he didn't need to be like,
[1:24:02] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It's like, don't kick someone when they're down kind of thing.
[1:24:06] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like, he was already feeling so horrible.
[1:24:09] \[SPEAKER_03\]: There was nothing to pile on on top of that.
[1:24:12] \[SPEAKER_03\]: She wanted to show, like, I still believe in us.
[1:24:15] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And I still think we can keep moving forward.
[1:24:17] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I'm gonna do my thing that you refused to do before when I was asking for it, you know, to like, set an example of like, this is how I wanna move forward.
[1:24:27] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And he's like, oh my God, yeah, of course.
[1:24:30] \[SPEAKER_03\]: But I totally get people being mad about it because it's because we're mad for her.
[1:24:36] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And you know, right, this is where to like, I don't know 30 to 50% of my audience when the title card came up at the end went.
[1:24:47] \[SPEAKER_01\]: What?
[1:24:48] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yes, same.
[1:24:49] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Same.
[1:24:50] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Listen, we sat there for 20 minutes.
[1:24:52] \[SPEAKER_02\]: We are like, right.
[1:24:53] \[SPEAKER_02\]: The fuck out loud.
[1:24:54] \[SPEAKER_02\]: 30 to 50%.
[1:24:55] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Which, by the way, I have to say is interesting, because, and I don't know if the film's intention and I think maybe it was.
[1:25:03] \[SPEAKER_03\]: was to put us ons in day as side for for the movie like we the audience empathize with her much more than any of the characters in the film because we didn't see anybody in the film empathize with her and we were kind of like more on her side and then even though we're seeing Robert Pattinson go through all this we see him make mistakes we're not on his side with that like and so there is a part of the move of the movie at the end that's doing this thing of like
[1:25:29] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Can you forgive somebody on their worst day?
[1:25:31] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Because, and maybe we can say, like, who knows if this was Robert Pattinson's worst day, but like, I think, ostensibly from that area.
[1:25:39] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And it's like, it's his worst moment, like a culmination of some of the worst things he's done leading up to this thing, and he's at his lowest point, and it's like, you know, if there is a message to the, I don't think there's the film really has like a strong message,
[1:26:00] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It's gently pushing people in the direction of like, hey, is it possible for us as a society to have more forgiveness and have more empathy for people who are, and like, she never did anything wrong, but she planned to do something wrong, right?
[1:26:21] \[SPEAKER_03\]: She had the potential in the capacity for it.
[1:26:24] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And because she had that within her, she had more
[1:26:28] \[SPEAKER_03\]: seemingly at least more empathy for other people at their worst points.
[1:26:32] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Even though I will say the one, the one wrinkle in this that we didn't really talk about is the fact that she fires the DJ, because of the heroin stuff, and that felt like her trying to grab her feeling like powerless, but also even to that, because
[1:26:49] \[SPEAKER_02\]: even before they went in, she never wanted to fire that person.
[1:26:53] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But Robert was like, we got to do it.
[1:26:54] \[SPEAKER_02\]: She gets right here and he starts beating around the bush and she's looking at, they keep having these shots of her looking at him like, you're the one who wanted it.
[1:27:00] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah.
[1:27:01] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And then he fucking set her up again.
[1:27:02] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And then he goes, oh, maybe that wasn't her.
[1:27:05] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And I was like,
[1:27:07] \[SPEAKER_03\]: This, yeah, yeah, it's very fascinating.
[1:27:11] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yeah, man, I don't know.
[1:27:12] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I think it sparks something.
[1:27:14] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I agree with it.
[1:27:15] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I think it does spark good conversations.
[1:27:19] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I think I just struggled with, I just felt like this was another movie I went in to see Zindaya and I just assumed it was,
[1:27:27] \[SPEAKER_02\]: She was more of the lead and I just don't think she was.
[1:27:30] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I think she is a lead.
[1:27:32] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I think she's the co-lead, but I do mean it's a Robert Pattinson movie.
[1:27:36] \[SPEAKER_02\]: 100%.
[1:27:37] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And I don't know, I think like if you guys listen to the tone, after the Oscars the tone did a power ranking of actors.
[1:27:44] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And you know, top three of course are top three of actors that most producers more than movie right now are Sendea, Michael B. Jordan, Timothy Schallemitz.
[1:27:54] \[SPEAKER_02\]: but one of the consistent things amongst them is that Timothy Shalomian and Michael B.
[1:27:59] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Swap.
[1:28:00] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But when he says that he goes out, but most of the producers want Zindaya in their movie.
[1:28:07] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And I thought about that, and I'm like, that's so dope, but then I watch movies like this, and I'm like,
[1:28:12] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And they are so good to me, and also she, unfortunately, is the one that we have.
[1:28:16] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I feel like she's the one, like we Jordan is the one we have.
[1:28:18] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like we don't have that many young people who leave movies like this.
[1:28:21] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But I think about the movie she's leading, and she almost always is playcating to like a white dude.
[1:28:26] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And I don't like, we're going to see her do that three more times.
[1:28:29] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Sorry, two more times this year.
[1:28:31] \[SPEAKER_02\]: She's going to do it.
[1:28:32] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And the Odyssey, and she's going to do it is Spider-Man.
[1:28:35] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Oh, three more.
[1:28:36] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I was right.
[1:28:36] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Three more.
[1:28:37] \[SPEAKER_02\]: She's going to do it in the Odyssey.
[1:28:38] \[SPEAKER_02\]: She's going to do it in Spider-Man.
[1:28:39] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And she's going to do it in doing it.
[1:28:43] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I don't know, man.
[1:28:43] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, but the thing is that once in a, in their movie, but, you know, the roles, the, you know, the strong female lead roles are not either not going to her, you know, which I would believe.
[1:28:58] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I would believe that like, you know, the these kinds of movies and these kinds of roles that we want for her are not showing up to her desk.
[1:29:06] \[SPEAKER_01\]: or like the project itself isn't flashy.
[1:29:10] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You know, like it would take her going, you know, I will, I will grace this movie with my presence.
[1:29:20] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I didn't hopefully that will bring, you know, I just I heard it talking recently about one of the work of Ryan Kougler.
[1:29:26] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And I remember I felt weird about it.
[1:29:29] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And I don't know why, but then after, um,
[1:29:34] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It's moving, everybody was talking and I was like, oh, I think the reason I feel worried about it was Michael B's move, I'm sorry, not Michael B. Ryan Cougar's movies are so steep in black culture and like researched.
[1:29:44] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And,
[1:29:45] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I first and day talk about being like blackness and like how important it is and how she benefits from being a licensed black woman and all this stuff, but I'm like, oh man, I feel like if it was an A.O.
[1:29:53] \[SPEAKER_02\]: was in a Ryan Kugler movie or even the Ava Devon A type movie or you know, the Timbie Banks or any one of these movies, I felt like it would be the day.
[1:30:03] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Do you remember like, um, when Beyonce did the Swable and she came out dressed as like black Panthers and SNL the next week was like the day white people learned Beyonce was black and people were
[1:30:14] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I feel like that's what the whole world will open up.
[1:30:17] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It'd be like, wait, Huddle, isn't it?
[1:30:18] \[SPEAKER_02\]: What's she talking about?
[1:30:19] \[SPEAKER_02\]: She's just saying the end one?
[1:30:20] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Right.
[1:30:20] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I was going to say she's a little bit of a victim of her own success of like her she has such success in the mainstream and I mean, we thought we were over these terms but we're not of like, she's like broken through.
[1:30:35] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah.
[1:30:35] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Right.
[1:30:35] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Right.
[1:30:35] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Right.
[1:30:35] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Right.
[1:30:36] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Right.
[1:30:36] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Right.
[1:30:36] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Right.
[1:30:37] \[UNKNOWN\]: Right.
[1:30:37] \[SPEAKER_03\]: She's being given these roles in these big budget movies with these big time directors or like super like hot up and coming Indirectors, but like all of that is a white world and like they're putting her in the films and like
[1:30:53] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It makes sense career-wise for her to do this.
[1:30:55] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It raises her profile, gets her more money, like, you know what I mean?
[1:31:00] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like, it gets her award potentials or that kind of thing.
[1:31:02] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I mean, I guess she hasn't gotten nominated yet, but like, you know, whatever, in movies that are being nominated and stuff like that.
[1:31:09] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And, but the thing is,
[1:31:14] \[SPEAKER_03\]: That's such a white world and so they're just dropping this black person into this white world and their movies are mostly not really about blackness the one difference the one that maybe there was some blackness within it was supposed to be Malcolm memory, but it's a white director and then also people didn't like the movie because
[1:31:30] \[SPEAKER_03\]: a good man and like and so it was like that was her shot.
[1:31:34] \[SPEAKER_03\]: You know what I mean?
[1:31:35] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like I like I you know and I think it's funny because she is one of the biggest stars but she really hasn't been the lead lead of a lot of films yet and
[1:31:47] \[SPEAKER_03\]: You know, this stuff works fast and like you've got these franchisees that she's a part of and she has to commit to and stuff like that.
[1:31:54] \[SPEAKER_03\]: So it's a lot of pressure on her to to make her the one as like Responsible for the casting of the film because it's it shouldn't be her job, but I do think it's a it is an interesting conversation that because she is getting to the place where She can like tell her
[1:32:14] \[SPEAKER_03\]: people to be like, hey, I'm a big enough star now that it's like, I want this thing to happen.
[1:32:19] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like, it's going to make sure that it's really going to take that.
[1:32:22] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, to your point, Brad, people were talking about, um,
[1:32:25] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Uh, wow.
[1:32:25] \[SPEAKER_02\]: We were talking for a long time.
[1:32:27] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I was there.
[1:32:27] \[SPEAKER_02\]: We were talking for a long time.
[1:32:28] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And people were referencing Nicole Kidman.
[1:32:32] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And recently, within the last couple of years, I mean, Nicole Kidman's doing too much, too many movies, too many TV shows, blah, blah, blah, but in the cold, Kidman came out and said, all of these projects she's doing are,
[1:32:45] \[SPEAKER_02\]: like directed by women.
[1:32:47] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And a lot of the time she's like I want to get more female directors out there and this is the chance like a lot of them, this is like either their first show or their first, whatever, whatever.
[1:32:55] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And that's a shot.
[1:32:56] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And I think about Zindaya and I'm like, the pressure shouldn't be on her and I don't even think she needs to like, I have to work with a black director.
[1:33:04] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I just think sometimes when I see her,
[1:33:07] \[SPEAKER_02\]: What it would do, culturally, if she was an out of boosters, or like, God is, is God is, like those kind of like, there's a lot of black female lead movies coming out.
[1:33:20] \[SPEAKER_02\]: You know, with really interesting directors and things of that nation, I'm like, what would it be like if she was in one of those?
[1:33:25] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Well, she physically got to speak to another black woman just on camera.
[1:33:30] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That's a lot of things.
[1:33:31] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But it also might be like hell of weird.
[1:33:34] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I mean, I think it, so I do think it will be jarring deeply strange, you know?
[1:33:40] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But she didn't be because she is a black woman from Oakland, like she said it is like we like with Braylock, I say and it's like, she is a victim of her own success.
[1:33:49] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, she is from Oakland, you know what I'm saying?
[1:33:52] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, she is black.
[1:33:53] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, she goes to cook house.
[1:33:54] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, she's like,
[1:33:56] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Somehow Hollywood has made it like, oh, she's not one of us, but she is.
[1:34:00] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, she is not from the suburbs.
[1:34:02] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, she's not, you know what I'm saying?
[1:34:03] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, it's just a fascinating thing to me that like, they've taken this by women and is like, oh, she's not which I don't know more.
[1:34:10] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Why I'm like, she should be.
[1:34:11] \[SPEAKER_02\]: she's still got to go home like I don't see videos of Tom Holland doing electric slotted shit like when he's back at the cookout you know what's that he's playing basketball is she like hard press to find out any black person not doing the electric slide somewhere so Tom Holland did happen to do that with with her family that you know that's what I'm saying it's like they do anyway anyway anyway we've been talking forever take us home break take us home
[1:34:38] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It's time for the cause.
[1:34:40] \[SPEAKER_03\]: We don't rate and review films based on how much we like the movie, but whether or not it helps.
[1:34:45] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Well, sorry.
[1:34:45] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I said that a lot.
[1:34:46] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I thought that was in my head.
[1:34:48] \[SPEAKER_02\]: You can leave.
[1:34:51] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Whether or not it helps the cause of leading black actors in Hollywood.
[1:34:54] \[SPEAKER_03\]: If it fully helps that cause, we give it a black fist.
[1:34:57] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Someone helps the cause, we give it a white palm.
[1:34:59] \[SPEAKER_03\]: If it doesn't help the cause at all, we don't give it anything.
[1:35:01] \[SPEAKER_03\]: On the count of three, we raise up our ratings for the drama.
[1:35:09] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Man, hold on, wait, wait, wait, wait.
[1:35:11] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Man, it's not based on whether we like it is whether it helps to cause of more leading black actors in Hollywood.
[1:35:16] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Man.
[1:35:18] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah.
[1:35:18] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I don't really like what I'm about to do.
[1:35:22] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on.
[1:35:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I could have a guy to do it.
[1:35:24] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Hold on, hold on.
[1:35:25] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Hold on.
[1:35:27] \[SPEAKER_02\]: What?
[1:35:27] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
[1:35:32] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Mine is up.
[1:35:34] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Uh-huh.
[1:35:36] \[SPEAKER_03\]: All right, one black face to two white palms.
[1:35:39] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I struggle, here's why I gave it a black fist.
[1:35:43] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It's optimistic, John.
[1:35:46] \[SPEAKER_03\]: My hope is Jordan Kira put down a great performance here, and who knows, maybe you know, she goes on, and she leads something.
[1:35:56] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Also, Mama do.
[1:35:58] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yes, that's like giving up on it.
[1:36:00] \[SPEAKER_03\]: He is a really good at this movie.
[1:36:04] \[SPEAKER_03\]: He's led stuff like elemental technically and obviously uncorrect.
[1:36:12] \[SPEAKER_03\]: But he's not like,
[1:36:14] \[SPEAKER_03\]: He's not like a leading man yet like fully like a leading man yet as evident as by this film.
[1:36:19] \[SPEAKER_03\]: He's a supporting character and so again I just think again, maybe raise his profile gives him another By the apple as it were hopefully and then today isn't there, but you know Let's make sure she stays up there and she is so that's why I gave it a fist
[1:36:38] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I gave it a pump for Mamadoo.
[1:36:40] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Mamadoo who's booked two big movies over me that changed his life.
[1:36:44] \[SPEAKER_02\]: That Mamadoo.
[1:36:47] \[SPEAKER_03\]: What's one of them uncorked?
[1:36:50] \[SPEAKER_02\]: No, it was before uncorked.
[1:36:51] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It was a Petty Cakes, which was the first one.
[1:36:54] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And then it was a movie with a huge actmen where he played a politician or something like that, who got canceled.
[1:37:01] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But anyhow, oh, he was ice cream.
[1:37:04] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Mamadoo Fluffton plays this part
[1:37:08] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yes, yeah, he was where I meant the fun and then remember that remember everybody's got to be it's got to be bad education Everybody wasn't a get down to whatever you mean, so I like it.
[1:37:18] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yeah, I know get down really blue people are okay from
[1:37:22] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, especially if you were like, y'all and people like that who got the parts that, you know, some people got callbacks, what we didn't book.
[1:37:28] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But look, that's not the point, right, that's not the point, right, that's not the point, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right, right,
[1:37:47] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, I mean, I gave it a poem for for everybody for all all people like I was I would have given this a fist if not for our conversations around race that we just had that's what kind of deterred me from fist, but I thought that this was in fist territory after I saw the movie and then the more that I think about the racial implications the more I'm like, oh, I'm not sure how great this is and also like you know,
[1:38:14] \[SPEAKER_01\]: you know, like the, you know, like her not having the big emotional moments at the end, and stuff like that.
[1:38:21] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah.
[1:38:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Okay.
