This week, James, Jerah, and Jon are covering Shadow Force (2025), directed by Joe Carnahan, written by Leon Chills and Joe Carnahan, starring Kerry Washington, Omar Sy, Mark Strong, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, and Cliff “Method Man” Smith. Together, they discuss the likelihood of there being some form of real shadow force out there, what they’re still doing in the cold open, what Seven Psychopaths actually is, who is and isn't an "elder stateswoman," the film getting dragged down by rough fight direction, and much, much more! [1:19] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yes.
[1:21] \[SPEAKER_06\]: We just did it.
[1:23] \[SPEAKER_06\]: The thing is there might have been a shadow force.
[1:25] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It's not even going to accept that.
[1:26] \[SPEAKER_02\]: That's probably not even going to.
[1:29] \[SPEAKER_02\]: That's probably the shadow force is probably what did it.
[1:33] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Uh, yeah, maybe.
[1:35] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Bray, sometimes when you do the opening, I feel like something just dies in my heart a little bit.
[1:42] \[SPEAKER_02\]: You know, I don't know why it's so good.

[3:17] \[SPEAKER_00\]: to be able to probably would you know, not try to kill a bunch of bank robbers when they're holding a gun to my son.
[3:27] \[SPEAKER_02\]: That's the voice.
[3:32] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Good voice.
[3:32] \[SPEAKER_02\]: This is the voice of Jerome Milligan.
[3:37] \[SPEAKER_06\]: And this voice that is sort of wondering, who is listening to this episode for the first time?
[3:43] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Who is it?
[3:44] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Who picked to this one?
[3:46] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Listen to us by the first time.
[3:49] \[SPEAKER_06\]: This voice is James III.
[3:50] \[SPEAKER_06\]: And how did it come about?
[3:52] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know, how did it pop up?
[3:54] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Tell us more.
[3:55] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Guys, this week we're reviewing the film Shadow Force, which is currently happy.
[4:03] \[SPEAKER_00\]: People, are you happy?
[4:05] \[SPEAKER_00\]: on Amazon Prime.
[4:08] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I don't know why you're saying that like we had a huge swell from our fans to review this.
[4:13] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That yeah, no, no, it is.
[4:15] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I just want them to know what we do for them.
[4:17] \[SPEAKER_02\]: That's what I want to know.
[4:17] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Yeah, this is for them, though.
[4:21] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Yeah, this is for them.
[4:22] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Isn't it?
[4:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah.
[4:24] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It wasn't for us.
[4:25] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I don't think it was for us.
[4:27] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It was released by a
[4:36] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Oh, yeah, really?
[4:37] \[SPEAKER_05\]: Oh, yeah.
[4:39] \[SPEAKER_05\]: Someone asked me they were like, is it an Amazon?
[4:41] \[SPEAKER_05\]: I've never heard of this movie.
[4:42] \[SPEAKER_05\]: Is it Amazon only?
[4:43] \[SPEAKER_05\]: And I was like, I think it is.
[4:45] \[SPEAKER_05\]: Not thought it was.
[4:45] \[SPEAKER_05\]: I thought it was.
[4:46] \[SPEAKER_00\]: No, not only was it released in theaters.
[4:48] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It had a international release.
[4:50] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It was released in many countries.
[4:53] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Oh.
[4:54] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah.
[4:55] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Didn't make a lot of money.
[4:57] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's full gross.
[4:59] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Worldwide, 5.4 million.
[5:02] \[SPEAKER_00\]: 3.9 domestic, 1.4 international.
[5:07] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Wait, what?
[5:08] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It made $5 million?
[5:09] \[SPEAKER_00\]: $5 million?
[5:10] \[SPEAKER_00\]: The budget was $40 million.
[5:13] \[SPEAKER_03\]: The budget?
[5:16] \[SPEAKER_03\]: $40 million.
[5:18] \[SPEAKER_00\]: All right.
[5:21] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Uh, and if you're like, well, maybe it wasn't in that many theaters.
[5:24] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It opened in 2000, 170 theaters.
[5:27] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Why do you say it like that?
[5:30] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Just so people know, 2000.
[5:32] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Uh, that being said, 30% of Ron Tomatoes.
[5:41] \[SPEAKER_06\]: I was so mad at you, I used to hit like that.
[5:56] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Oh my goodness.
[5:57] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Wait, that was only the critics score, though.
[6:00] \[SPEAKER_00\]: The audience score is actually 82% and that's not a joke.
[6:04] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Okay.
[6:05] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's real, 82%.
[6:06] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Now only 250 ratings but see and we don't you see you won't always say how many audience you don't always say that so that means that's not a lot or it's not a lot it's not a lot I don't think a lot of people saw this as evidence by the five million dollar box office
[6:36] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And Omar Sai, who is a French actor that people might know from a little show called Lupin.
[6:44] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Show don't make no sense.
[6:46] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And that's what she makes sense.
[6:48] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Make it, you can't be a bastard of this guy.
[6:52] \[SPEAKER_02\]: When you know.
[6:54] \[SPEAKER_00\]: uh... you can't be a better if you can't build that poster every time i see a trailer and a poster my is him broke is him now he's in a different he's he's in a different outfit he also has like a small role in like drastic world i don't know if you guys remember he was like all of that yeah he's in he's in all of them i don't think we know maybe he's not the second one
[7:20] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Oh, he's not in this.
[7:21] \[SPEAKER_00\]: My second one.
[7:21] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You mean, uh, falling kingdom.
[7:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Oh, falling kingdom.
[7:25] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah.
[7:25] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It doesn't look like he's in that one.
[7:27] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Wait, is he in dominion?
[7:29] \[SPEAKER_00\]: If he came back in dominion, got it for no reason.
[7:32] \[SPEAKER_06\]: They were just like, remember him.
[7:34] \[SPEAKER_00\]: He was parabas in the book of Clarence.
[7:38] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Really, I get a small part.
[7:40] \[SPEAKER_00\]: a much bigger part in the French film, The Intouchables.
[7:44] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Oh, great film.
[7:46] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Great film.
[7:46] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, that they they read did and called the upside with Kevin Hart and Brian Cranston.
[7:51] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Which wasn't terrible.
[7:53] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, and he was also bishop.
[7:55] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I mean, it wasn't the same pass.
[7:59] \[SPEAKER_05\]: I mean, it wasn't the same pass.
[8:00] \[SPEAKER_05\]: He's in one scene.
[8:03] \[SPEAKER_05\]: I don't know.
[8:04] \[SPEAKER_02\]: You, you, you, you might, you on your way, but some try to be bishop.
[8:07] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Let me to be bishop in that down, you know what I'm saying?
[8:10] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Oh, bishop is on his way like work out for us.
[8:14] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, I was like, I was like, wait, what's that?
[8:16] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Wait, wait, what's that?
[8:17] \[SPEAKER_01\]: What is it the brides?
[8:18] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You know what I'm saying?
[8:19] \[SPEAKER_02\]: One way, technically bishop has transformed a pin and all who draws him.
[8:22] \[SPEAKER_02\]: So he's sometimes he has, sometimes he has long hair, sometimes he has just a fade.
[8:27] \[SPEAKER_00\]: In the shadow force is about an estranged couple.
[8:31] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I don't know if you knew that.
[8:32] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's about an estranged couple with a bounty on their heads that must go on the run with their son to avoid their former employer, a unit of shadow ops that has been sent to kill them.
[8:45] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Smoothies raided out.
[8:49] \[SPEAKER_00\]: All right, shall we do initial thoughts?
[8:53] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But I think we've gotten through, yeah.
[8:57] \[SPEAKER_02\]: out of force, I can go, okay.
[9:02] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, man.
[9:03] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I started as off.
[9:04] \[SPEAKER_02\]: You know, I mean, a sunday let's have a good time.
[9:06] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I saw this movie.
[9:09] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I watched it.
[9:10] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I saw it.
[9:13] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I saw it.
[9:13] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I saw it.
[9:14] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I saw a whole thing.
[9:15] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Did you watch it?
[9:19] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I did, the thing is, oh, maybe I don't have it.
[9:21] \[SPEAKER_02\]: All right, I'm gonna be honest with you.
[9:23] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I watched this movie in a while watching the movie, I remember having to thought,
[9:29] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Do I remember this movie and I was watching it?
[9:32] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, I remember, there was a point when it was, was it strong, what was the, Mark, Mark strong, it was a scene where Mark strong was like fighting the, he was in like a office and he was fighting the two boots.
[9:46] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Fightin' his underlings.
[9:48] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, and I was like, well, I remember this movie.
[9:53] \[SPEAKER_06\]: That scene was.
[9:54] \[SPEAKER_06\]: And it's like, your question was real you were a myth.
[9:58] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Your question was will you remember this move?
[10:01] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, because certain things was happening and I was like, and then to me, the first big pick at first big piece of action, not big piece, but the one when the family was together was the car scene.
[10:10] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And I was like, it's so dark.
[10:13] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And then I'm like, is it because I'm watching this during the day light?
[10:15] \[SPEAKER_02\]: So then I closed all the windows and it still was dark.
[10:18] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But I realized, oh, the movie is supposed to be taking place in fall, but the cars that are chasing them are, you know, I will say this.
[10:25] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And happy was a black family.
[10:27] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I'm happy.
[10:27] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Metham man was in here.
[10:28] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Um, I just want to speak.
[10:31] \[SPEAKER_02\]: If I was buying joy, Randolph, yes, because if he made his funny, because Metham man keeps pitching himself to be, um, bishop.
[10:40] \[SPEAKER_02\]: So it's funny.
[10:40] \[SPEAKER_02\]: He was in the movie with the only live action bishop.
[10:44] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Again, I didn't, I did not enjoy this movie.
[10:46] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I did not.
[10:47] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I.
[10:48] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I was very bored.
[10:50] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I got text, John, and James, 26 minutes in.
[10:53] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I was like, there's 26 minutes.
[10:55] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I'm watching this movie.
[10:57] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But you know what?
[10:59] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Black people were the leads.
[11:02] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And Juneteenth is on the way, baby.
[11:05] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Come on.
[11:07] \[SPEAKER_06\]: It's May 3rd at the time we look at the last.
[11:10] \[SPEAKER_06\]: It's May 3rd.
[11:12] \[SPEAKER_02\]: So far away.
[11:14] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Let's see.
[11:15] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Juneteenth.
[11:16] \[SPEAKER_02\]: We got something to look forward to.
[11:18] \[SPEAKER_02\]: You know what I mean?
[11:20] \[SPEAKER_02\]: So that's really for me.
[11:26] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Okay.
[11:28] \[SPEAKER_06\]: So I watched the hitman's body guard last night.
[11:31] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Okay.
[11:31] \[SPEAKER_06\]: There's not this movie.
[11:32] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Mark, have we done that on this pot?
[11:35] \[SPEAKER_06\]: No.
[11:36] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Mark Strong's not in it.
[11:37] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, Jackson.
[11:38] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Sam Jackson is in Ryan Ryan.
[11:41] \[SPEAKER_06\]: You sort of have to do it.
[11:42] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Who stars it and Reynolds.
[11:45] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Why did you bring that up?
[11:46] \[SPEAKER_06\]: What's wondering what the connection was?
[11:47] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Yeah, why did I bring it up?
[11:49] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Well, so because, have you seen it?
[11:52] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Have you all seen it?
[11:53] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[11:54] \[SPEAKER_06\]: I mean, oh my god.
[11:55] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know it's weird.
[11:56] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I actually haven't seen it, but I saw the sequel.
[11:59] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I saw the hitman's body, sorry.
[12:02] \[SPEAKER_06\]: It's not a hitman's bodyguard's, the hitman's wife's bodyguard.
[12:06] \[SPEAKER_00\]: The hitman's bodyguard's bodyguard.
[12:07] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That's when I saw that movie.
[12:09] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I was like, man, what a random movie.
[12:12] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And then there was a moment in it
[12:15] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I was like, man, it feels like they think we know these characters more than we do.
[12:18] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And then I, at a certain point, I was like, wait a minute.
[12:20] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Is this a, I didn't know.
[12:22] \[SPEAKER_02\]: The first one is much better, right?
[12:24] \[SPEAKER_02\]: The first one is, first one is much much better.
[12:29] \[SPEAKER_06\]: The second one is a flop is a major flop.
[12:32] \[SPEAKER_06\]: It made like $1 million more than it's budget.
[12:36] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Or like $0.1 million more than it's budget.
[12:38] \[SPEAKER_06\]: So it's a major flop.
[12:40] \[SPEAKER_06\]: But anyway, oh, I bring all this up to say, I was watching it last night and I hadn't started watching the Shadow Force yet and I was like, oh, man, could we just do this instead?
[12:52] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Is there a way we can start watching this?
[12:55] \[SPEAKER_06\]: And the thing about it, the reason I bring it up is because it started as one of those, like, oh, this is a hardcore action movie.
[13:03] \[SPEAKER_06\]: There's no comedy in it.
[13:06] \[SPEAKER_06\]: and it, and it would be in the genre of a movie like a shadow, okay?
[13:11] \[SPEAKER_06\]: It's basically just non-stop shooting blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
[13:15] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Anyway, all of that to say, all of that to say, I wish that that was what we were talking about, because I, this movie, uh, the beginning I was like, okay, because Brett,
[13:34] \[SPEAKER_06\]: And I was like, no, this feels kind of fun, like I've heard it, but then as it went on, I was actively forgetting what was I was actively forgetting this crazy right like I genuinely like didn't know like when when care Washington first shows up with them, I was like, I don't even know.
[13:57] \[SPEAKER_06\]: together.
[13:58] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Yeah.
[13:58] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Yeah.
[13:59] \[SPEAKER_06\]: I don't know.
[14:00] \[SPEAKER_06\]: I don't happen.
[14:02] \[SPEAKER_06\]: And then when the shadow force finally ceases on them after the car like the car chase, I was like.
[14:11] \[SPEAKER_06\]: did something happen was I was I supposed to know that they were on to them or what so I don't know that part of it and they're like they are in that scene they're like they're like what how did they find us how did they did that but I was like
[14:27] \[SPEAKER_06\]: I don't know if I'm supposed to have an idea of this or not.
[14:35] \[SPEAKER_06\]: So there was just a lot of that.
[14:36] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Like, I think the overarching like reason that Mark Strong is like after them is is really kind of weak.
[14:46] \[SPEAKER_02\]: He looked at what Kerry Washington, right?
[14:49] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Yeah, so like for as much as like some of the other stuff was kind of fun like dealing with the kid during all of this is kind of fun and kind of silly while also like remaining grounded except for the part when he six other part when we're supposed to believe
[15:07] \[SPEAKER_06\]: He was standing in that far away from that boy and he stopped to the all of the bank robbers before anybody shot him.
[15:14] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Right.
[15:15] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Like he could work out.
[15:17] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Except for like the stuff like that.
[15:19] \[SPEAKER_06\]: I was like, no, it's kind of fun.
[15:20] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Like I liked the method man scene.
[15:22] \[SPEAKER_06\]: You know, met them in the truck and their car and they're doing the thing.
[15:25] \[SPEAKER_06\]: You know, like all of that stuff was silly, so... Sure.
[15:29] \[SPEAKER_06\]: But yeah, I don't know if it, it didn't hold me if that's.
[15:36] \[SPEAKER_06\]: No, it's not a whole thing.
[15:38] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I don't think it holds.
[15:40] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Um, yeah, so here's the thing, actually.
[15:43] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I, um, what should I get?
[15:46] \[SPEAKER_03\]: This is what I got.
[15:47] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I think divine joy Randolph is so funny.
[15:53] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah.
[15:54] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Agreed.
[15:55] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Agreed.
[15:55] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Oh my goodness, she's awesome and I was like, there were a, there are certain moments in this movie where I was like, this has no business being funny and she's making it real funny and I was laughing.
[16:09] \[SPEAKER_00\]: All right, so shall we get into the movie.
[16:13] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I think I think I think I think you're missing some stuff right now.
[16:16] \[SPEAKER_02\]: What I miss I think you're missing some stuff.
[16:18] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Oh, no, I initially, oh, yeah, it was.
[16:22] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Yeah, I completely agree with everything you just said.
[16:27] \[SPEAKER_00\]: When she's beating the crap bottom, oh my god, that was so so random to like that's her partner who to who betrayed her, man.
[16:41] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yes, um, yeah.
[16:44] \[SPEAKER_00\]: No, I mean, you know, but you like the movie though, huh, but you like the movie.
[16:49] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I really like to find.
[16:52] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I'm saying the movie.
[16:53] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like when you, well, you.
[16:53] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Oh, yeah.
[16:54] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Oh, I totally loved to.
[16:55] \[SPEAKER_00\]: No, I really like to find it in this movie.
[16:58] \[SPEAKER_02\]: No, I'm saying when the movie ended and you were like, okay.
[17:01] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, I was like, I was like,
[17:05] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, I was like the acting, I mean, it's not surprising.
[17:10] \[SPEAKER_00\]: She won an Oscar.
[17:12] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know what I mean?
[17:14] \[SPEAKER_00\]: For this movie, you want to hurt a winning Oscar.
[17:16] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But there's no, no, no, that means she, no, I have saying, she won an Oscar for another movie and then this movie confirmed.
[17:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, this is a great, this is a great actress who can be.
[17:26] \[SPEAKER_06\]: I feel like you didn't like this movie, right?
[17:28] \[SPEAKER_06\]: I feel like what I, what I appreciated about the hitman's body
[17:33] \[SPEAKER_06\]: is.
[17:34] \[SPEAKER_06\]: So like the movie starts with Ryan Reynolds.
[17:36] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Wait a minute.
[17:37] \[SPEAKER_06\]: But then, say, no, Jackson's like doing more stuff.
[17:41] \[SPEAKER_06\]: And then like that's not this movie.
[17:42] \[SPEAKER_06\]: And then like at the end, Ryan Reynolds gets shot.
[17:47] \[SPEAKER_06\]: You know, so you're like, oh, man, Ryan Reynolds is shot.
[17:50] \[SPEAKER_06\]: And then, and then Samuel Jackson has to go, you know, because he's the body, you know, because Ryan Reynolds is the bodyguard.
[17:58] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Same guy, you know, right now he's getting a force, though.
[18:00] \[SPEAKER_06\]: And he's like, oh, man, I did my job now.
[18:02] \[SPEAKER_06\]: You got to go do yours.
[18:03] \[SPEAKER_06\]: And then Samuel Jackson kills the big bet.
[18:07] \[SPEAKER_06\]: And I was like, I was thinking about your ride during this, because it was like, oh, it was like the movie literally handed it off.
[18:13] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Hand it off to your boy.
[18:16] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Mm-hmm.
[18:16] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know, you know, what's so interesting about this film,
[18:20] \[SPEAKER_00\]: is it's a movie that you can't tell, do you have to explain the plot the way, not the way that the movie explains the plot because it's too confusing the way the movie does it?
[18:33] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like it.
[18:34] \[SPEAKER_00\]: The opening scene of this is Carrie Washington killing some random person who they're they're executing something that we don't fully understand.
[18:43] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We do see Omar's face on somebody's computer screen, but we have no context for who he is in relationship to her or anybody we don't know who she's killing it's not a cool kill.
[18:55] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It doesn't make her look.
[18:58] \[SPEAKER_00\]: like a badass or anything like that, um, it's just kind of right.
[19:03] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Like it sort of happens to them.
[19:04] \[SPEAKER_06\]: I mean, walks up to the window, even.
[19:06] \[SPEAKER_06\]: It's not even like she, yeah, figured out some way to distract him.
[19:12] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Right.
[19:12] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah.
[19:13] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I mean, it's really,
[19:16] \[SPEAKER_00\]: even though eventually it is explained what that scene was, that part of like opening like that with the movie I'm like, what is this opening scene doing for us at all?
[19:28] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Right.
[19:29] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And outside of, I guess the only thing it kind of establishes is that she is an assassin of some kind.
[19:37] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah.
[19:37] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And that's literally, but it's like we don't know for who we don't know.
[19:42] \[SPEAKER_00\]: who she's going up against.
[19:43] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We don't know why she's killing them.
[19:45] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We don't know like it's not setting the tone of like, oh, she's like super deadly or to be feared or anything like that outside of, I guess anybody's shooting somebody else, but like it's not done in a cool medicine.
[19:58] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Well, it's just like all of it.
[19:59] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I was just like, what was the point of this opening?
[20:01] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Can I also say their code names were hitman one and hitman two?
[20:05] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Y'all remember that?
[20:08] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Unfortunately, they were like, hey, hit man one hit man two on your left X, Y, Z about to happen come in hit man two hit man
[20:20] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's so funny, like in Wikipedia, the plot of this movie starts off eight years previously.
[20:26] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Cairo owns an Isaac star with a leaders of a multinational special forces group called Shadow Force, a CIA clandestine operations team performing assassinations in the interest of, and all of this stuff is like, it takes like 15 minutes before the movie starts explained.
[20:41] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And then what happened with them, it takes even longer, right?
[20:45] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like, yeah.
[20:46] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So we see Omar with his boy,
[20:49] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And he's like explaining like, oh yeah, like I was off like kill him bad guys, which who knows what that was about.
[20:59] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And he's like, where's mom?
[21:01] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Oh, she's off killing bad guys.
[21:03] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I don't think by this point, we've understood the fact that she's been gone for years, literal years, right?
[21:11] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like we don't know this until later, right?
[21:14] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah.
[21:15] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah.
[21:15] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah.
[21:16] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Especially because he references his mom bizarre just bizarre to keep that information from us.
[21:22] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And then I don't know.
[21:26] \[SPEAKER_00\]: He's like in like he's in a bank.
[21:28] \[SPEAKER_00\]: They're doing a bit.
[21:30] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I think it's supposed to be funny.
[21:32] \[SPEAKER_00\]: This whole thing about like some sort of fees, some bank fees.
[21:38] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And he's like upset about the bank fees.
[21:40] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And he tells his son to wait over there.
[21:43] \[SPEAKER_00\]: God knows why why isn't your son so far away like why is your son not just standing right by you like what what like That that's not explained whatever it doesn't really matter.
[21:53] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's just annoying and then You know bad luck.
[21:58] \[SPEAKER_00\]: There's a couple of bank robbers come in
[22:01] \[SPEAKER_00\]: He asks for his son to come over to him, the bank robber, truly for no reason whatsoever.
[22:08] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like, no reason at all decides to point the gun at the sun's head.
[22:12] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Now, if you know anything about bank robberies, which of course we all do.
[22:17] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yep, we've done it.
[22:19] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We've done it.
[22:19] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But honestly, like, if you know anything about the history of successful bank robberies,
[22:26] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Not having not killing somebody is top the list because once you start killing people like they're going to come to you down even then it's over so for you harder than it would before why this like and also you want the least amount of trouble to be happened so if a person is like all they're asking for is for their son to literally just walk 15 feet over to their father so that they can both get on the ground why wouldn't you want that.
[22:54] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It makes no sense to threaten this kid.
[22:58] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It didn't make any sense anyway.
[23:00] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So I do have a wish.
[23:01] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, it was very weird.
[23:03] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Very weird.
[23:03] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And then like, and then he, and then the movie does a, to me, I was just like, oh, wow, this, they didn't have a budget.
[23:10] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But they did, though, they had a $40 million budget.
[23:13] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And for no reason whatsoever key, the movie blacks out the fact that he takes all these guys down.
[23:21] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We only hear the sound of it.
[23:22] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And I wonder why did it, and it gave you like little glimpses, but I'm like, the amount of ground he had to cover makes no sense.
[23:28] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like Captain America would have to cover that ground with the shield, you know what I mean?
[23:33] \[SPEAKER_06\]: I Why am I lately seeing people in.
[23:38] \[SPEAKER_06\]: I mean, I just watched it, my bodyguard, like I just said, but seeing people were the gun where they are clearly an easy target and for whatever reason the gunfire is just not hitting them.
[23:51] \[SPEAKER_06\]: And when we see the CCTV footage of this a little bit later, my man is just in the open.
[24:00] \[SPEAKER_06\]: He's not behind anything, and he's as far as we know, not hearing what's happening.
[24:09] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Right.
[24:09] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Exactly.
[24:10] \[SPEAKER_06\]: And.
[24:13] \[SPEAKER_06\]: turning around, doing the button and just in the open.
[24:18] \[SPEAKER_06\]: And nothing happens to him.
[24:19] \[SPEAKER_06\]: That kid was gone.
[24:20] \[SPEAKER_06\]: That kid was gone.
[24:21] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, first floor in the middle of time, just standing at a hole.
[24:25] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Not a single stray bullet hit some, you know, like, my other thing about, like, I was like, you weren't saving that kid.
[24:32] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like, you put that kid in a way more danger than he was in, in my opinion.
[24:36] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Exactly.
[24:38] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Again, because why, what?
[24:40] \[SPEAKER_00\]: What motivation does a bank robber have to just shoot a random kid?
[24:44] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Exactly.
[24:45] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Why would they ever do that?
[24:46] \[SPEAKER_02\]: They don't, right?
[24:47] \[SPEAKER_02\]: They don't.
[24:48] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Okay.
[24:49] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So the other thing about this is we get is like he takes his ear plugs out and you guys have to explain to me what the heck this is all about because I heard it but I don't understand it.
[25:02] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I think he's he's because he's deaf.
[25:05] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Right.
[25:06] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Or he like, he, he's losing his heart or lose it or hard of hearing.
[25:09] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah.
[25:10] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It feels like a bit that they did in baby driver.
[25:12] \[SPEAKER_02\]: We're like, he needed the music to like focus in, whereas when you took it off, he couldn't hear anything.
[25:17] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And this movie, it felt like him not hearing helped him focus.
[25:21] \[SPEAKER_02\]: So it was the reverse.
[25:22] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, uh, because he could drown out all the noise without his, okay.
[25:26] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah.
[25:27] \[SPEAKER_00\]: They were hearing aids.
[25:29] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah.
[25:30] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And so when he takes his hearing aids out, he can't hear, and that helps him focus.
[25:36] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yes.
[25:36] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I think so.
[25:37] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I mean, he said that was his superpower.
[25:40] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yes.
[25:40] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I mean, I think so.
[25:41] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That's what he said.
[25:42] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And we're supposed to understand, like, oh, when he takes his hearing aids out, where he's going into like killer mode.
[25:48] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah.
[25:48] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah.
[25:50] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah.
[25:52] \[SPEAKER_00\]: All right.
[25:53] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Um, so that happens and then of then he spies the camera and we're like, okay, yeah, he's clearly was hiding and, you know, this is not good.
[26:03] \[SPEAKER_06\]: But see, here's my, my thing.
[26:06] \[SPEAKER_06\]: I mean, I'm sure he has no say to, to get them to stop, but he doesn't even try to get the
[26:18] \[SPEAKER_06\]: or anything.
[26:19] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Yeah.
[26:20] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Yes.
[26:21] \[SPEAKER_06\]: But like that made me mad.
[26:23] \[SPEAKER_06\]: And then a thing happens later on with Kyra's at her character name with with yeah.
[26:29] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Where I'm just like, this isn't what someone with your level of training would have even done.
[26:38] \[SPEAKER_06\]: You would have gotten through this in a completely different way.
[26:40] \[SPEAKER_06\]: And it's just like, crushed, and I'm gonna go back to the hitman's bodyguard, which does a lot of these things better than a lot of movie, that first one anyway.
[26:51] \[SPEAKER_06\]: I think that's probably why it did so well on the blacklist and then work so well.
[26:56] \[SPEAKER_06\]: That's a comedy, you know, they figure out- That was a blacklist movie.
[26:59] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Yes, and it was one of these.
[27:01] \[SPEAKER_06\]: It was like it was a blacklist movie, but it was like it read like one of the moves we just watched But it was but people really liked it and then they they made it at comedy like two weeks before they started shooting But to me the thing that it does that I think it does well apart from the occasional times where someone's just out in the open and not getting hit for no reason is like
[27:24] \[SPEAKER_06\]: The characters move in ways that someone with their training logically would, you know, it's just you're just not doing the really dumb thing, you know, like it's fine.
[27:35] \[SPEAKER_06\]: We'll talk about when we get to it.
[27:36] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But yeah, I agree with that.
[27:40] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Again, like everything about like then we like then we're going to introduce the Mark Strong.
[27:45] \[SPEAKER_00\]: He's like the Secretary of State.
[27:51] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I believe I was confused that who he was.
[27:56] \[SPEAKER_00\]: They were secretary general.
[27:58] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah.
[27:59] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So he's a secretary general of the G7.
[28:02] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So he's at the G7 meeting and he's like,
[28:06] \[SPEAKER_00\]: This guy popped up, we got a problem.
[28:11] \[SPEAKER_00\]: There was this thing called Shadow Force, and then he's also like being all rude to the leaders of other countries.
[28:19] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know, we're supposed to laugh, I think, at this.
[28:21] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And so he's like, yeah, like we gotta go get him, you guys have to give us like the means or whatever, and people are like, okay, great.
[28:31] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And so even in that explanation,
[28:35] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We don't really understand why the G7 cares about this.
[28:39] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like why they had to really talk to the G7 about this or like all of this.
[28:46] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's just so generic and so unclear and whatever who cares I guess, but we're think we're like, okay, Mark Strong's the big bad.
[28:54] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And then like.
[28:57] \[SPEAKER_00\]: He's like upping the, he's like, okay, I'm gonna up like the bounty and then we see like a couple of people get this phone call and I was like, okay, we're supposed to like think these people are cool.
[29:10] \[SPEAKER_00\]: the intros for these people are so and none of it, none of it landed, none of it landed, none of it landed.
[29:16] \[SPEAKER_05\]: So it was like, my man, what's my man, what's my man?
[29:20] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I like the look of the light skin dude.
[29:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah.
[29:24] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I like, it's named Marvin Jones.
[29:26] \[SPEAKER_06\]: What was his, he used the one who had a line when he got it.
[29:30] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Oh, yeah, Marvin Joseph there.
[29:31] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Yes, from from black black black lighting.
[29:34] \[SPEAKER_06\]: He was like he said some like we can go or so he has some He had a line.
[29:41] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I think he literally said all right time to go time to go to work and then he shoots and then we sealers a bunch of dead bodies there was
[29:52] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But my thing was like, okay, despite the fact there was zero context for this, I was like, time to go to work.
[29:58] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I literally, but I was like, are you at work?
[30:00] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Cause didn't you just kill all these people?
[30:02] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Yeah, he's not just like, no, he's like, this ain't the real, that's why he, that's why he, that was the actual one with the quickness of me.
[30:09] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Really, yeah, you got the things like, he's like, no, I guess it's just finally, something like a really, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
[30:15] \[SPEAKER_06\]: I was making this last longer cause I was bored.
[30:18] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I just wanted just a little context
[30:22] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I feel like movies like, um, is it rock and roll or, um, like, seven, yes, yes, yes, yes, rock and roll.
[30:36] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like, just give us like cool introductions.
[30:39] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Wow.
[30:40] \[SPEAKER_02\]: You know what, film does do that.
[30:42] \[SPEAKER_02\]: There's a short film called the ticket that does and really cool.
[30:47] \[SPEAKER_02\]: really cool openness for gangs and characters which words inspired by films like Seven Cycle Path.
[30:54] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Thank you, Brave for that.
[30:55] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Also, the movie, Rock and Rolla, thank you again, because the title cards are so cool.
[31:03] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It's so cool.
[31:05] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Rock and Rolla.
[31:06] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Rock and Rolla was so good.
[31:08] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But who's the one?
[31:09] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Do you remember the one?
[31:10] \[SPEAKER_02\]: The yard member was a movie with, um, it may be,
[31:12] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Is this ever a psychopath?
[31:14] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Is that the more Ryan Reynolds as a lead?
[31:16] \[SPEAKER_00\]: No, no, that I know what you're talking about.
[31:18] \[SPEAKER_00\]: There's a different one.
[31:19] \[SPEAKER_02\]: There's a movie with everybody before they were famous.
[31:22] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It's like common.
[31:23] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Ryan Reynolds, Chris Pine, and everyone is trying to kill Jeremy Pivin.
[31:30] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It's like groups of like assassins, trying to smoke in.
[31:35] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Smoking, Amy says, I still never saw, I should at least he's in that, right?
[31:40] \[SPEAKER_06\]: I never saw it.
[31:44] \[SPEAKER_06\]: You like, it's actually good.
[31:46] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I tried it when I was, I mean, I saw it so long ago.
[31:48] \[SPEAKER_06\]: It's a fun movie.
[31:50] \[SPEAKER_06\]: I liked it though.
[31:51] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Here's the thing about movies like this though.
[31:53] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Is, is, is, if it hits you just right, and it's from, you know, to that, and it's from, you know, two decades ago, it's good.
[32:03] \[SPEAKER_06\]: If it hit, I don't care if if people after the fact or even if it didn't do well at the time, if you, if you have only a fond memory of smoking aces when you saw it in 2006 and for 20 years, you were like, man, what a great movie smoking aces is.
[32:20] \[SPEAKER_06\]: I, you don't, don't, no one tell me anything.
[32:22] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Sure.
[32:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: No one, no, I mean, I think it's definitely works for like,
[32:27] \[SPEAKER_00\]: like it like teenage boys, you know what I mean?
[32:30] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like it was a fun time exactly.
[32:32] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I mean when you look at the cat when you look at the cast you go of course this was good like it was of course it was good like it has a great cast, you know.
[32:42] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like like this movie has some of those characters and then some people who are just random.
[32:49] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, but it was no telling me because some of those movies I'm like, yeah, who knew this is going to look like this.
[32:55] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Um, like, because I think that movie need this movie, I think needed.
[33:01] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And I, again, love that there are black people in here.
[33:04] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And I'm like, oh, they're going for two things.
[33:06] \[SPEAKER_02\]: They're going for Mr. and Mrs. Smith's vibe.
[33:09] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But I thought it needed to be cool.
[33:11] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, like, it needed, like, it needed them to either be super sexy and like, quippy and like, like, you know what you know to think is like, you know what you mean?
[33:20] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Why don't you protect my son?
[33:21] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I was once him care at a son.
[33:23] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And then they get like really loving and hot.
[33:24] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And this movie kind of did that for a brief portion.
[33:27] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But then also I thought the action needed to be really good and I don't think like this movie the action scenes kind of board me, which is in the action was you know what I mean, honestly horrible I will say almost every action scene it was really bad like not.
[33:44] \[SPEAKER_00\]: enjoyable to watch.
[33:46] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Here's the other thing about it too, like because they didn't establish Carrie Washington as like this cool person, like the first like real scene we even get with her is her just like coming in and starting to fight her husband, which again, we like have no context to you.
[34:04] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So we're just like, what the flip is going on?
[34:07] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like, what is happening?
[34:09] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And then also, like, to, I guess, Jaraz Poit, like, it's so hard, like, and I understand this happens a lot, but sometimes movies, like, I feel like no time to die.
[34:22] \[SPEAKER_00\]: did a really good job of making me believe that on a day armist could beat up beat up like grown men, you know, and this was incredible.
[34:34] \[SPEAKER_00\]: This movie, this movie, Kerry Washington's getting punched in the face and like all this stuff is happening to her.
[34:41] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And I'm supposed to believe she's like,
[34:44] \[SPEAKER_00\]: making real hits to Omar's side?
[34:47] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm like, I don't believe it.
[34:49] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Oh, I don't.
[34:50] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And the way that they're fighting doesn't make me believe it.
[34:53] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It just, I'm just like, this is a, she would get broken in two.
[34:58] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I know.
[34:59] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Just like she's so small, like care Washington is a really small person.
[35:04] \[SPEAKER_00\]: She's short and she's really skinny.
[35:07] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And so like the fights, the like atomic blonde is the same thing because like, oh, I love atomic blonde.
[35:15] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, Charlize their own is really small, but again, the way that they fight and like a way that they have her getting hit.
[35:21] \[SPEAKER_00\]: The other thing is like, Harry Washington is like, oh, there's like, she's getting old.
[35:25] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know, so it's just like, there's so many things going against it, just her type.
[35:29] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like, and I know that this is just like what the industry is right now.
[35:34] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But I'm just like, I look at this, and I'm just like, there's a certain level of believability.
[35:38] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You have to try to make me, and it's up to the fight directors.
[35:42] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like, this is one of the first movies where I, in my mind, I literally was like, oh, this fight directors bad.
[35:48] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, I watched this movie and I remember saying thinking to myself, yo, these fights are boring and why, and I think it's because when we started off with, I think James you bought up, or Barry, sorry, it's like the first fight we don't see, because they keep fading out in and out of like black, black.
[36:05] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But even then, I'm like, when they showed, but when his eyes would open a week, I got to see a little bit of like the camera, I might we didn't see cool action.
[36:13] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And even when Kerry Washington is having this bad ass in the way she's trying to fight to dudes, but then Mark Strong is standing there, we don't see her.
[36:22] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Technically, we see, like, print us being thrown, and then we're cutting to him.
[36:25] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And then they cut back to her mouth as all bloody.
[36:27] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And I'm like, just show her fight or lose the, yeah.
[36:33] \[SPEAKER_06\]: This also is similar to the thing that bothered me with, or this is adjacent to the thing that bothered me when Mark's strong is like, he like starts rolling up his sleeves and he pulls up the gun and he's like, he's gonna like beat up his underlings or whatever.
[36:47] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Like that was the most
[36:51] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Nothing fight.
[36:54] \[SPEAKER_06\]: It was like the most nothing show of strength.
[36:56] \[SPEAKER_06\]: I've ever seen it one of these movies where yeah, where it like we're supposed to think like they'll finally we're going to see him we're going to see how gritty this man is and it was two punches.
[37:09] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, just like took this guy out.
[37:12] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Yeah.
[37:12] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And he punched the other guy twice, and that was it.
[37:16] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I mean, the only thing in that was like, he took a punch, and he was like, oh, I like that.
[37:20] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And then he like knocked the guy out.
[37:21] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Oh, yeah, I guess maybe that is a, that does sort of highlight an eccentricism to him, but, but, but still, like, I don't know.
[37:30] \[SPEAKER_06\]: I, no, I wanted, I wanted, I wanted some torture or something.
[37:34] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Like, you know, he stabs the guy's leg or the footer.
[37:36] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Also, I got it, I got it, I got it, I got it.
[37:39] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Again, like, when they first introduced those two guys, I was like, what is happening?
[37:44] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like, yeah.
[37:45] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It was clear that they were focusing on them.
[37:47] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So we were supposed to think, like, hey, there's something here, like these people are important.
[37:51] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But I just was like, we have, again, have no context for like who they are, what their job even is.
[37:57] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like, they make some joke about being winners to assassins.
[38:00] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But I was like, but what is your actual job?
[38:02] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like, what are you guys doing?
[38:04] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And then when Marcus, when Mark Strong is mad at them, I was like, what are you mad at them for?
[38:09] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I don't even know what they did like what did they do like they weren't the ones attacked like that was your assassin so like Did they come up like they came up with the plan like that's there is that their job like are they Tactical advisors like what who are they like I thought they were bodyguards at first and then I was just like what do I don't so all of that stuff like and so when the twist happened it it feels meaningless because I
[38:35] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I have no basis of reality of what's supposed to be.
[38:38] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Also, you can't Swiss coming the whole time.
[38:41] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, we knew, we knew, I mean, they look kind of.
[38:44] \[SPEAKER_06\]: I mean, they look like, desk guys.
[38:48] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Like, they look like, they look like the CIA desk.
[38:53] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I mean, here's the thing, it's like, I didn't fully understand that twist was coming because I didn't know that there was anything to be twisty about, like the method man twist I saw coming at my last one, I saw it, I guess they wanted us to see that in a way.
[39:08] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But again, even them, it was still kind of confusing.
[39:11] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I was like, were they a part of shadow force or I couldn't quite, I didn't quite understand.
[39:19] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Well, I mean, home girl got the
[39:22] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, she got like when the bounty was was was she intercepting that message or Like why would he message her if he knew that she was loyal to carry Washington and she he must have known that Also, yes, they find them in Columbia from their secret hiding place and the only we don't understand what we don't understand how We do get like Mark strong when he's talking to the assassins.
[39:50] \[SPEAKER_00\]: He says like
[39:52] \[SPEAKER_00\]: we're closing in on their location now.
[39:54] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And I guess we're eventually the how is byunk, but the thing is they never toldunk and yes, they barely never told them where they were.
[40:03] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I remember the dad didn't really like talking to him.
[40:08] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Yeah, but, but, but I was about to call him looping.
[40:12] \[SPEAKER_06\]: But Omar thinks it's them though, you know, he's he does.
[40:17] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So well, he's like, there's, he's like the only people who know about this place are us and those two.
[40:22] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So it has to be them.
[40:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, yeah, and he's right.
[40:28] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, you know, there's been a couple of times we've watched movies.
[40:32] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And I know I say this weekly guys.
[40:34] \[SPEAKER_02\]: So one, buy one of our scripts.
[40:36] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Cause you know, we make, we can make a good movie.
[40:39] \[SPEAKER_02\]: You know what I'm saying?
[40:40] \[SPEAKER_06\]: We can make a really, or frankly, hire us to punch up some of these other movies.
[40:49] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Yeah, you know, like if you have a movie, if you have a movie written already and you're like, man, this, this kind of works for these reasons, but I would, I, I wish it had x, y and z.
[41:00] \[SPEAKER_06\]: We can make those movies better.
[41:02] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah
[41:17] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Oh, what do you all think?
[41:18] \[SPEAKER_06\]: My only issue with it, my only issue with it because I, you know, like, you know, I still will go back and watch the bad boys to highway, I've seen it.
[41:30] \[SPEAKER_03\]: That's that's great.
[41:31] \[SPEAKER_06\]: But I mean, you know, that car to me is just so obviously not there and stuff like that, but, but to me, the boy being in the truck the whole time,
[41:43] \[SPEAKER_06\]: And they're just like this truck is indestructible and they just want us to just listen to that
[41:52] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Do we ever even cut to that little boy in the trunk?
[41:55] \[SPEAKER_00\]: No.
[41:55] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Do we ever see anything?
[41:57] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Not what's the star.
[41:58] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I was like, okay, the trunk, okay, even if I believe that no bullets are getting through this trunk, like, is he not getting bounced around, like a creep like he's getting thrown?
[42:08] \[SPEAKER_06\]: They get hit by a rocket launcher and then it flips the car, the car flips over.
[42:14] \[SPEAKER_02\]: He's not a baby like I know they made that joke.
[42:16] \[SPEAKER_02\]: This is a baby see, but they put him in a baby See and like nothing happens like it's like it's it's
[42:23] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Also for this kid when I struggle with the kid is this kid has clearly been around danger his entire life And I love that as a sweet little black African kid.
[42:32] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I love it But at one point I'm like a nigga you got to be with the shit.
[42:36] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Okay, because you know what's happening like you know what's happening Like he played the music at the end, right that was him.
[42:42] \[SPEAKER_02\]: That was a boy.
[42:43] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah
[42:45] \[SPEAKER_02\]: That was his one contribution.
[42:46] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I was like, I was like, I was like, what's the musical thing?
[42:51] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, what's what's happening with that?
[42:52] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Oh, the line of Rishi.
[42:54] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like, that was his song or I think he was supposed to be embarrassed that he liked that song.
[42:58] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And we were supposed to think that was funny.
[43:00] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Here's here.
[43:01] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I just got to say, like, literally every single joke in this movie doesn't land except for the ones to divide.
[43:07] \[SPEAKER_00\]: like only the divine and methamman scenes, those are the only scenes that were the comedy lands.
[43:13] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I've truly felt like every other scene, and they tried to put comedy in this movie in a lot of other places, none of that landed from it.
[43:21] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Yeah, I like, I mean, I mean, divine is in this scene, but I liked the, what does Beretta spell and, uh,
[43:31] \[SPEAKER_06\]: And like the, I think the energy of that scene could have been like the like the pacing was a little off.
[43:38] \[SPEAKER_06\]: But I was like, oh, I do, I like this scene conceptually.
[43:43] \[SPEAKER_06\]: You know, like the conceptually, like like the kid, it's what you were saying, right?
[43:48] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Like the kid actually is just been around this so much that like he's unfazed that his dad is
[43:57] \[SPEAKER_06\]: basically sticking them up even though he's trying to hide the gun like he knows what's what's happening in this scene.
[44:03] \[SPEAKER_06\]: And so the like the I think the rhythm could have been better like everybody was kind of not quite playing the way it should have been played, but
[44:13] \[SPEAKER_06\]: I did, you know, that was making you laugh.
[44:15] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Okay.
[44:17] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, I think I already said this, but it really was a shame that they didn't give any personalities to these other five assassins.
[44:24] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like, it just felt like such a missed opportunity.
[44:27] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like, because then when each of them die, it would have felt
[44:31] \[SPEAKER_06\]: cool, but because we don't know when they blew up Marvin, when they just, when they just, it happened so way to happen so quickly.
[44:41] \[SPEAKER_06\]: I was mad because he was the only one I cared about, right?
[44:45] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You only barely.
[44:46] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Only barely.
[44:49] \[SPEAKER_06\]: I barely cared about him, but then it was just like,
[44:53] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Lupin turned around and shot twice and then the thing just exploded like you didn't even see him react to it You don't even see if there's not even a build up to like oh if he hits this that's gonna
[45:08] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It was just Broadway.
[45:09] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I think it's moving costs 40 million dollars.
[45:12] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I think it's because of the CGI.
[45:14] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It's like some of the things they were trying to do also is the locations of it.
[45:18] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It's like this thing looks like they shot in nice areas for no reason.
[45:22] \[SPEAKER_02\]: This should get a shot in North Carolina and no one would have known the goddamn thing.
[45:25] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Yeah, and it is movies like this that like once they apply AI to it, it's like these are gonna cost no money at all.
[45:32] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Like they're not gonna spend
[45:34] \[SPEAKER_06\]: any money on movies like this, pretty soon.
[45:38] \[SPEAKER_06\]: They're about to just shit these out.
[45:40] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Like we about to get, we about to get John Grisham level level releases of movie.
[45:45] \[SPEAKER_00\]: If we don't, if that's not what it's like already, but we about to get these about to come out at a, at a alarmingly terrible rate.
[46:03] \[SPEAKER_00\]: If there is an emotional arc in this movie, it's supposed to be between them and like trying to be a family and getting past that like she not doing things just on her own and like for them to do it together and so then they they kill like you know they kill the big bad together I guess though
[46:27] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, but that whole like shooting in the shoulder story.
[46:31] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And then like, and then she's like looking at him and she's like, take your take.
[46:36] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like listen, and he takes those things out.
[46:39] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And then she's like looking at him like shoot me in the shoulder and I was just like, why do you need to, wasn't this the thing that he did?
[46:46] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like he knows what he asked to do.
[46:48] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Anyway, I don't know.
[46:49] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That last moment was insane.
[46:51] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Also, her trying to go there and like kill him and not shooting him in the face made no sense to me.
[46:57] \[SPEAKER_06\]: So that was the other moment where it happened and I was like, you are the leader and elite shadow force.
[47:09] \[SPEAKER_06\]: You, you, you, you, you, and they tried to explain it away with like you if had you felt Kefflon, you would have probably shot me in the head and it's like, no, you are an assassin.
[47:22] \[SPEAKER_06\]: You know how to kill people.
[47:24] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Two in this chest, one in the head.
[47:26] \[SPEAKER_06\]: One in the head.
[47:27] \[SPEAKER_06\]: You know, that is worse.
[47:29] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Boom, boom, boom.
[47:31] \[SPEAKER_06\]: What?
[47:32] \[SPEAKER_06\]: It made me so mad.
[47:34] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Because even if he didn't have, even if he didn't have cavlar on, like, how do you know you hit him in the heart?
[47:41] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like, shoot him in the freaking face.
[47:44] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know how you know somebody's dead when you shoot him in the face.
[47:46] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Yes.
[47:48] \[SPEAKER_06\]: And the thing is she wouldn't be like, I started writing in my head, like, oh, she just wanted to incapacitate him.
[47:54] \[SPEAKER_06\]: You know, like you just start right you just start making sense of something that makes no sense, you know, why why like just don't even do it like just don't even just don't even do it if it's going to be that that dumb it makes just makes me so mad in these things.
[48:12] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I create this movie was so you know what it was it's one of those things to is like, um,
[48:21] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I was watching one of my friends is in the movie and we all went to go see it yesterday and it is a bad movie but it was so bad it was fun.
[48:29] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like it was so fun and can't be as bad as we were.
[48:34] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, yes, yes, I'm better than that of web, but
[48:38] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But that, and I was like, even watching this movie, this movie wasn't that.
[48:41] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like this movie wasn't so bad it was good.
[48:44] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It wasn't like, oh, we're missing the action wasn't even close.
[48:47] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Like, no, because they're trying to make a good movie.
[48:50] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Yeah.
[48:50] \[SPEAKER_06\]: That's the problem is like, is that you, is they like, want it?
[48:55] \[SPEAKER_06\]: And again, that's why you, I mean, you know, no offense to John Grishon, but that's why I used John Grishon as an example where it's like, it's like, all this needs to do is be like, I need some explosions.
[49:04] \[SPEAKER_06\]: I need some gunfire.
[49:05] \[SPEAKER_06\]: I need some, you know,
[49:06] \[SPEAKER_06\]: little bit of whatever and then it's done, you know.
[49:10] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yeah.
[49:12] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yeah.
[49:14] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yeah.
[49:15] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I mean, yeah.
[49:17] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's so funny.
[49:18] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like they made this whole big deal about like all these assassins coming after them.
[49:22] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And there was really just like one scene where the assassins are just all in like,
[49:29] \[SPEAKER_00\]: They're all faceless because they're all, like, motorcycle helmets, just shooting flares at them constantly and shooting at them and then the next scene is like, they just like capture them, you know?
[49:41] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So I don't know, like it was just like, man, these assassins were like, truly nothing.
[49:46] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like, you might as well just had regular henchmen.
[49:48] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like, I don't, did we even need to pretend like there was like, oh, there was shadow force?
[49:52] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Part of this, you know, any who.
[49:55] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Also,
[50:00] \[SPEAKER_03\]: air carry.
[50:02] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Uh-oh.
[50:03] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Hey.
[50:04] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Hey.
[50:06] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Hey.
[50:06] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Hey.
[50:06] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Hey.
[50:06] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Hey.
[50:07] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Hey.
[50:07] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Hey.
[50:07] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Hey.
[50:07] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Hey.
[50:08] \[SPEAKER_06\]: I'm not involved.
[50:09] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Hey.
[50:09] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Hey.
[50:09] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Whatever is about to be on him.
[50:10] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Galax.
[50:11] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Everyone else.
[50:11] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Some people know it's not me talking to me.
[50:14] \[SPEAKER_06\]: It's definitely.
[50:15] \[SPEAKER_06\]: I'm a key to enduring it.
[50:16] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Can we just be?
[50:17] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Can we just be?
[50:18] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Can we just be?
[50:19] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Can we just be?
[50:19] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Can we be hot?
[50:20] \[UNKNOWN\]: Hey.
[50:20] \[UNKNOWN\]: Stop out.
[50:20] \[UNKNOWN\]: No.
[50:20] \[UNKNOWN\]: No.
[50:20] \[UNKNOWN\]: No.
[50:20] \[UNKNOWN\]: No.
[50:21] \[UNKNOWN\]: No.
[50:21] \[UNKNOWN\]: No.
[50:21] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Get away, hold on, wait a minute.
[50:23] \[SPEAKER_06\]: I don't even, I couldn't even imagine what you are going to say.
[50:26] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Because I've been being honest this whole time.
[50:28] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Honestly, I don't want to know what he wants.
[50:30] \[SPEAKER_02\]: You know what?
[50:31] \[SPEAKER_02\]: You know what James is like, Brake can be entitled to his own opinions, but every way we remember it, that is John.
[50:37] \[SPEAKER_00\]: John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John, John,
[50:49] \[SPEAKER_06\]: I'm not going, I'm not even going feeling the blame.
[50:51] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Maybe you're trying to get me, that's how you get me.
[50:54] \[SPEAKER_00\]: How about this term, how about this term?
[50:56] \[SPEAKER_00\]: How about this term?
[50:58] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Miss Cass, how about that?
[51:01] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Okay, if that's a term, you know what it is.
[51:04] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I wouldn't say she's Miss Cass.
[51:06] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I would say she needed assistance.
[51:09] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And by that I mean, like, we could like assistance with her.
[51:12] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Acting ability or what?
[51:14] \[SPEAKER_02\]: So I was,
[51:16] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, like we're talking about on a day on this.
[51:18] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And a day on this is a very small person.
[51:21] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But because of the rigorous training she went through, she looked super badass when she could hold guns and stuff.
[51:28] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I think this movie may not have given Carrie the opportunity to train as long.
[51:34] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Even if you think about how the Barry shows up in John Wick, how the Barry's out here working with the dogs and the good is pure, but there's so much footage of her training.
[51:41] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And I just think that Carrie
[51:44] \[SPEAKER_02\]: was the movie she was in, the director directed her a different movie and I think that just may not have been this much what I'm saying.
[51:54] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Okay, that's because the toll was off.
[51:57] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like if you think about it, the movie, the movie, the movie that the black couples were in were two different movies.
[52:03] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, it was two different movies.
[52:06] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Here's the thing about that specifically, though, is the movie, there are times in the scenes with Omar and Carrie, where they want you to think that in the same movie that divine and method manner in, they like, they're seeing you there.
[52:26] \[SPEAKER_06\]: They want to think they're in the same movie, but it's, but it's, but it's not, and I, and I think for that reason carry didn't, like I didn't feel this stuff that y'all are that y'all are talking about, but I think I understand where interesting you didn't feel it though.
[52:41] \[SPEAKER_06\]: I did, I did not feel it.
[52:42] \[SPEAKER_00\]: There was, I did not genuinely did feel it because you were like, you thought, your mind, you were like carries and nailing the comedy of this.
[52:51] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like she's like, this is a brave brave brave brave.
[52:54] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That's what you thought.
[52:55] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You were like, James, she got this all James James.
[52:58] \[SPEAKER_02\]: She got the responsibility.
[52:59] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like, like, flawless.
[53:00] \[SPEAKER_00\]: James, that's what you were, that's what you were thinking James.
[53:03] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You were thinking that you were flawless execution.
[53:06] \[SPEAKER_06\]: I was thinking, I was specific to thinking.
[53:08] \[SPEAKER_06\]: I specifically was thinking I had to start multiple times while I was in this movie.
[53:13] \[SPEAKER_06\]: That man, this is, this is, I love that this, this is a black family dealing with this kind of scenario and it felt, and it felt like a black family, you know what I mean, they felt black, they felt like it was, yeah, you know what I mean, they were black, yeah, I mean, they definitely were black, you're right about that, they definitely, they definitely, they were letting y'all know these, these are black people, they, they want to do the no full show, that's that you were like this friend, this French bit is, I'm dying over here.
[53:45] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I enjoyed the film, you enjoyed the film, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait
[54:12] \[SPEAKER_06\]: You know what I was trying to express was specifically like feeling like man Why is this carry Washington?
[54:22] \[SPEAKER_06\]: You know or whatever like I didn't feel anything like that.
[54:25] \[SPEAKER_06\]: I didn't feel that specific Yeah, cuz it's carry Washington you know, I mean like it's that's what you get you get carry Washington You know is she available
[54:34] \[SPEAKER_02\]: If K-washing available, you get K-washing to, you know what, a friend at a podcast, one of my, one of my great friends, uh, Jordan Rollins is actually going to New York tomorrow tonight, uh, uh, to film.
[54:49] \[SPEAKER_02\]: A couple scenes in a movie with Carrie Washington and Coleman Domingo.
[54:52] \[SPEAKER_02\]: So you know what, you know what, you know what, you know what, you get a, you know what, you get a, she's one of our elder states women.
[54:59] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Is that what you say?
[55:00] \[SPEAKER_02\]: She's a states woman.
[55:01] \[SPEAKER_02\]: She's a, she's like, you said an elder.
[55:03] \[SPEAKER_02\]: She looks as young as, save the last day as to me.
[55:06] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Well, I mean, that's not true.
[55:08] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I don't know why you're that's not true.
[55:10] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Oh, I don't try to erase.
[55:11] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Don't try to erase it.
[55:11] \[SPEAKER_06\]: If I'm not supposed to say it, I'm not saying it, I'm not saying it, I'm not saying it, I'm not saying it, I'm not saying it, I'm not saying it, I'm not saying it, I'm not saying it, I'm not saying it, I'm not saying it, I'm not saying it, I'm not saying it, I'm not saying it, I'm not saying it, I'm not saying it, I'm not saying it, I'm not saying it, I'm not saying it, I'm not saying it, I'm not saying it, I'm not saying it, I'm not saying it, I'm not saying it, I'm not saying it, I'm not saying it, I'm not saying it, I'm not saying it, I'm not saying it, I'm not saying
[55:31] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Hey, she just got no, but everyone listening right now.
[55:35] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I don't believe in an age.
[55:39] \[SPEAKER_06\]: No, she was a Olivia Pope from 2012 to 2018, okay?
[55:45] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Once you once you, once you, Olivia Pope, like once you, once you transition into the, into the echelot, into the upper echelot, you, I, I, you can't go.
[55:56] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like she's a senior.
[55:57] \[SPEAKER_00\]: She said, all right, she's not doing that.
[56:01] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Shut up, or it's we need to talk about.
[56:03] \[SPEAKER_02\]: No.
[56:04] \[SPEAKER_02\]: No, there's not.
[56:05] \[SPEAKER_02\]: No, we're not.
[56:06] \[SPEAKER_05\]: Man.
[56:10] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's time for the cause.
[56:12] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We're rating review films out based on how much we liked it.
[56:15] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Luckily for this film.
[56:16] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We rated based on how much.
[56:19] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It helps the cause of leading black actors in Hollywood.
[56:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So if it helps the cause of more leading black actors in Hollywood, we give it a black fist.
[56:27] \[SPEAKER_00\]: If it's someone helps that cause, we give it a white pop.
[56:29] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But it doesn't really help that cause at all.
[56:31] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We don't give it anything.
[56:32] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And the count of three will raise up our ratings for Shadow Force.
[56:36] \[SPEAKER_03\]: One, two, three.
[56:43] \[SPEAKER_03\]: All right, two white palms, and nothing from Dr. Al-Milligan.
[56:46] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yeah, I thought you were going to give it.
[56:48] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I thought you were going to give it, I thought you were going to give it.
[56:51] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You thought we were gonna give it nothing damn.
[56:53] \[SPEAKER_01\]: How about somebody was?
[56:55] \[SPEAKER_00\]: No, I mean, this is a bunch of white people in the movie Like like oh bar side and carry.
[57:00] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Wow, she told me leave it.
[57:03] \[SPEAKER_02\]: That's it man and the Barra just a third Yeah, verse a poor loop is okay.
[57:12] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I don't trust what's it's loop and loop is a disease
[57:18] \[SPEAKER_06\]: I want, okay, wait.
[57:20] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I was like, I'm glad you got some credit.
[57:22] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You don't support Lupus.
[57:24] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I also support Lizzie's.
[57:25] \[SPEAKER_00\]: All I'm saying is this.
[57:27] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Okay.
[57:28] \[SPEAKER_01\]: This movie was so unfun, and I'm like, the draw always does this though.
[57:35] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Draw always goes immediately to the, I know, it was always, it doesn't matter whether you liked it.
[57:40] \[SPEAKER_06\]: And then if, and then if draw, I think nothing's like, I don't like it.
[57:48] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Okay, here's my first one, I feel like it.
[57:53] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
[58:07] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I do not believe in what Braalock says, but I would not disagree with Braalock says either about the performances of this movie.
[58:13] \[SPEAKER_02\]: At that point in anybody in this movie.
[58:15] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I think one person was really good in this movie that Braalock also has mentioned.
[58:19] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I did not understand the plot.
[58:21] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I didn't understand the chemistry.
[58:22] \[SPEAKER_02\]: The action was so bad.
[58:25] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It was so bad.
[58:27] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And
[58:29] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I don't know this movie helped black people.
[58:31] \[SPEAKER_02\]: If anything, I think it was like, oh, we put this movie in theaters.
[58:33] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It had two black people.
[58:35] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I think it hurt us.
[58:36] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Because everyone loves Lupin.
[58:37] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I mean, Lupin.
[58:38] \[SPEAKER_02\]: What is it?
[58:39] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Oh, my God.
[58:40] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Lupin.
[58:41] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Lupin.
[58:42] \[SPEAKER_02\]: People love Lupin and Ms. Pope.
[58:47] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And it still didn't work.
[58:48] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And they're like, well, we try it.
[58:49] \[SPEAKER_02\]: So, you know.
[58:50] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Right.
[58:52] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah.
[58:53] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Well, that's why I gave it a poem is that it's possible it has a negative effect, but people can blame the script, they can blame the directing, production design, all of that, which I think you should and say, well, the only reason this movie got made is because it had these stars attached to it and people saw it because of that.
[59:20] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know, just, it's like, hey, they can be leading people, but yeah, I don't know, it's like, it's, it's 50 50 so I gave it a pop.
[59:29] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Yeah, I mean, I, I mostly was focused on box office because I think I would have rated it a fist otherwise, like had the box office stop in what it was, I just think that even though, you know, Carrie is Carrie, I think more movies with Carrie are certainly help the cause.
[59:48] \[SPEAKER_06\]: We got more Omar, you know, we got this little boy, divine and, and, and methamet, you know, so like that all at Marvin Marvin everybody, like I was
[59:59] \[SPEAKER_06\]: there's a really stacked group of black people in this in this movie.
[1:00:04] \[SPEAKER_06\]: And if not for the for what it made, I probably would have rated it higher.
[1:00:08] \[SPEAKER_06\]: And frankly, but frankly, I don't think it's the movies fault that it didn't make money really.
[1:00:14] \[SPEAKER_06\]: I mean, you know, like like a stew.
[1:00:16] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Like, to me, at the end of the day, even if like a studio looks at a movie and they go, I don't think we should put our marketing budget behind this.
[1:00:25] \[SPEAKER_06\]: I still think that's a fault of the studio then anything like, because bad movies make money all the time.
[1:00:34] \[SPEAKER_06\]: bad movies make money right all the time it's just like and the audience score for this however small number of people is high so you know who knows what kind of money this would have made
[1:00:50] \[SPEAKER_06\]: if they would have, you know, the people that they believed in and they would have tried to sell it, you know, that's just, like, and I, I firmly believe that.
[1:01:00] \[SPEAKER_06\]: So, you know, maybe the movie even deserves a fist for that reason, but that's why I gave the Paul.
[1:01:04] \[UNKNOWN\]: Okay.
