[0:07] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I feel like Black History Month, is it just me or is it feel like people are not like- It's like, I feel like it doesn't feel very Black this world.
[0:17] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I feel like people are like, bro over this.
[0:19] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Well, it's also because most of the guys strip, so if you notice, there's no more- You know, honestly, it's very funny.
[0:27] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Target was one of the biggest-
[0:29] \[SPEAKER_08\]: pushers of black history month and then like they would literally decorate the store have black products by like like businesses.
[0:40] \[SPEAKER_08\]: That doesn't exist.
[0:41] \[SPEAKER_08\]: There's no black history commercials anymore right now.
[0:46] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I mean, if you have it following news, they legit are gluing stuff down like in Philadelphia, in DC, in New York, in Atlanta, of just like landmarks.
[0:58] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Oh, definitely suit they sued.
[1:00] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I don't know.
[1:01] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I don't know.
[1:01] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I don't know Yeah, no suit probably early days for that, but they would be like the city council.
[1:07] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yeah, so like they ripped they ripped downs like Some slavery monuments or some and who is today?
[1:14] \[SPEAKER_03\]: That's a chance.
[1:16] \[SPEAKER_03\]: So Missuma.
[1:16] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Yeah, they You know who they is
[1:19] \[SPEAKER_08\]: So the federal government you know what they said are all covered they found their government with the Philadelphia and they had a Miami Met that was talking about I'm I think it was the bus boycott Scarlett crappie moral, but I know they there's footage of them pulling that down It's a couple of footage of certain things around South Ecc.
[1:35] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I've been poured down and I heard that was happening in Atlanta as well And are they doing this at federal bit like what gives them the right to just go in and to a city and post up there?
[1:45] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I don't know and it's been like these are like everything I've seen has been like a outdoor monument type thing Like that don't I don't know how it works like I Right how do you do the name certainly does it work?
[1:56] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It certainly doesn't work in any sort of but Wait hold on hold on where did these not the same people who are like you can't tear down these Don't do that
[2:08] \[SPEAKER_03\]: No, I can't do it out of these races.
[2:11] \[SPEAKER_03\]: This is, this is one of the few instances of like when it's like aren't you the same people who did, who did X, Y and Z.
[2:17] \[SPEAKER_03\]: This is certainly the same people who did X, right?
[2:20] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And they're like, no.
[2:21] \[SPEAKER_02\]: We shall leave.
[2:21] \[SPEAKER_02\]: We must stay up there.
[2:23] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It's history.
[2:24] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Why do you guys want to retire a part of history?
[2:27] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Because I mean, and for the same reason that like hexeth was like great all the Confederate general bases their names are back now.
[2:33] \[SPEAKER_03\]: We're going to do the names are back.
[2:34] \[SPEAKER_03\]: We're doing this.
[2:35] \[SPEAKER_03\]: We're putting the names back up here.
[2:36] \[SPEAKER_03\]: We're doing the names over here.
[2:37] \[SPEAKER_03\]: You know, because it's it's it is It is retaliation for that specifically.
[2:42] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like this is a very clear case of point of like of like you hit me.
[2:45] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I'm going to hit you back.
[2:47] \[SPEAKER_02\]: You know, right.
[2:48] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Okay.
[2:49] \[SPEAKER_02\]: So you took down our Confederate flag.
[2:51] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Now we're going to take
[2:53] \[SPEAKER_02\]: down.
[2:54] \[SPEAKER_09\]: The fact that slaves built the White House stuff like that.
[2:59] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yeah.
[2:59] \[SPEAKER_03\]: We're going to take that down.
[3:00] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Hopefully hopefully you'll forget it.
[3:03] \[SPEAKER_10\]: We're going to be literally a waste history for free.
[3:06] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I mean, I agree, Bray.
[3:07] \[SPEAKER_08\]: It doesn't feel like like, actually, when I was watching bad bunny, I felt like a lot of black people, and I can't figure everybody, there was so
[3:22] \[SPEAKER_08\]: like some type of representation.
[3:24] \[SPEAKER_08\]: It just felt like, hey, sorry.
[3:26] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Like look at that, like a brown brother's own TV.
[3:30] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And it was just so like these were the like, this was the black history month representation we needed.
[3:35] \[SPEAKER_08\]: This is that, I mean, that's all we had like this.
[3:40] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I mean, guys, there's no commercial.
[3:42] \[SPEAKER_08\]: There was, I saw more commercials.
[3:44] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Well, I don't.
[3:46] \[SPEAKER_08\]: So what are you saw?
[3:47] \[SPEAKER_03\]: What you're not trying to say, you saw only in my lab to say the N word, yeah, boy.
[3:51] \[SPEAKER_08\]: That's it.
[3:51] \[SPEAKER_07\]: That's it.
[3:52] \[SPEAKER_07\]: That's it.
[3:53] \[SPEAKER_09\]: That's it.
[3:56] \[SPEAKER_09\]: That's it.
[3:56] \[SPEAKER_09\]: That's it.
[3:56] \[SPEAKER_09\]: That's it.
[3:57] \[SPEAKER_09\]: A different world de-aged in the Dunkin' Donuts commercial.
[4:00] \[SPEAKER_09\]: That was my life.
[4:00] \[SPEAKER_02\]: That commercial was right.
[4:03] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And they had Carlton.
[4:04] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And they were serving.
[4:06] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And Erkel.
[4:08] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And it's just my favorite commercial.
[4:10] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I didn't actually mention enough.
[4:12] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I will say this, I hate it.
[4:15] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I hated the fact that the de-aging was used in so many commercials.
[4:19] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I hated that.
[4:20] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But I did appreciate that Dunkin donuts when representing the 90s included so many black.
[4:27] \[SPEAKER_02\]: sitcoms.
[4:28] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I was I was like that's kind of cool.
[4:30] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I do like that.
[4:31] \[SPEAKER_11\]: That was the closest we got to Pakistan.
[4:35] \[SPEAKER_02\]: That right there and been asked like.
[4:37] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Yeah, that commercial.
[4:39] \[SPEAKER_02\]: We, you know.
[4:39] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Well, we must don't get donuts educated about George Washington Carver or loving.
[4:46] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But we got that, you know?
[4:48] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Wait, what?
[4:48] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Well, loving is the case, the court, federal court case, where you don't have to explain this.
[4:55] \[SPEAKER_02\]: No, I'm just saying, we just want to, like, this might be a, it's just like, that's like a black history, like literally, yeah.
[5:07] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Well, why are you confused, you're all?
[5:09] \[SPEAKER_08\]: You know what?
[5:09] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I'm okay, you know what?
[5:10] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I'm asking to me the questions.
[5:12] \[SPEAKER_08\]: You don't.
[5:12] \[SPEAKER_08\]: It looks like, hey, you're not,
[5:18] \[SPEAKER_03\]: You've done the podcast before, right?
[5:21] \[SPEAKER_03\]: You've done the podcast before.
[5:22] \[SPEAKER_03\]: You know, that braid does these like transitions where he tries to work.
[5:26] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, right.
[5:27] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Did I try?
[5:28] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I mean, I don't know if it was a shot.
[5:30] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I don't know if it was a shot.
[5:31] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I don't know if it was a shot.

[5:33] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I don't know if it was a shot.
[5:34] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I don't know if it was a shot.
[5:36] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I don't know if it was a shot.
[5:36] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I don't know if it was a shot.
[5:37] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I don't know if it was a shot.
[5:39] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I don't know if it was a shot.
[5:40] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I don't know if it was a shot.
[5:41] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I don't know if it was a shot.
[5:42] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I don't know if it was a shot.
[5:43] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I don't know if it was a shot.
[5:44] \[UNKNOWN\]: I
[5:45] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Uh, sorry.
[5:46] \[SPEAKER_03\]: We have to say I knew it was coming.
[5:48] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I knew it was coming.
[5:48] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And I thought you were going to do like a super bowl McDonald's like I'm loving it Reference like I thought you're going to do like James.
[5:55] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Oh my god, James, I'm so What do you do?
[5:58] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I am so high you're literally I literally I should have just interrupted you I almost said hold on James.
[6:06] \[SPEAKER_02\]: We have to toss for a brief commercial.
[6:08] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Great
[6:09] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But I decided to let you speak and all right, so I'll do it.
[6:15] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I'll be between.
[6:16] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But I knew you were going to, and I was going to do it, I was my third one.
[6:21] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Oh, I'm just doing it in my, in my Brian Cox impersonation.
[6:30] \[SPEAKER_09\]: That isn't saying Brian Cox being the voice.
[6:34] \[SPEAKER_08\]: It's just like after he represents the most correct corruption.

[10:15] \[SPEAKER_05\]: Wow.
[10:15] \[SPEAKER_09\]: Remember that for the record?

[10:22] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yes, I'm so happy.
[10:26] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I'm so happy.
[10:26] \[SPEAKER_02\]: You know, and that's the thing is that there's just, you know, we've been here.
[10:32] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Black people have been here in America for a while.
[10:34] \[SPEAKER_03\]: A couple people, I mean, you know, we didn't have anything.
[10:37] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I think it's true for a lot of it.
[10:39] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I think it's true for me, certainly true for me.
[10:44] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Certainly true for me.
[10:47] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yeah, my grandma's very light's been a little hurt on my dad's side and a lot of and then my and you know, and then I'm I'm because that I am I mean we just all out here.
[10:58] \[SPEAKER_08\]: We all everybody everybody was mixed all out here not on purpose necessarily let the younger boys and my family choice We were just straight Negroes, but now my little cousins all have white wives so
[11:13] \[SPEAKER_08\]: So you say that with the way you, or you're just like reside to have no, no, I'm just gonna say we have, we have now now my family is starting to like branch out and they have white wives, but it's also the kids of the parents that when I was younger, I was like, you're just gonna go off and get you a white girl and they used to say it in that kind of way, but now all their sons have white girls and I'm like, the Chinese dragon, these niggas, you know what I'm saying?
[11:41] \[SPEAKER_09\]: It's been crazy how you know by racial is kind of a big deal, but tri-racial is kind of nothing like no one Right, what's that super like whatever you're just messing with.
[11:52] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yeah, right, right, whatever you're just yeah You're a mud guy here I've said this on the podcast already, but when there was people that's on my dad's side saw pictures of my wife They were like, oh, she got oh, she got something in it
[12:09] \[SPEAKER_09\]: That's the best part of this.
[12:12] \[SPEAKER_09\]: That's the best part of it.
[12:13] \[SPEAKER_09\]: My mom swears Wolf Blitzers black.
[12:14] \[SPEAKER_09\]: The first time she saw Wolf Blitzers.
[12:18] \[SPEAKER_09\]: Theories.
[12:18] \[SPEAKER_03\]: No way.
[12:18] \[SPEAKER_09\]: The theories.
[12:19] \[SPEAKER_03\]: No way.
[12:20] \[SPEAKER_09\]: That's interesting.
[12:22] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Well, you got it.
[12:23] \[SPEAKER_03\]: He got that.
[12:24] \[SPEAKER_03\]: You got that.
[12:25] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Whatever discreet you want to say.
[12:27] \[SPEAKER_03\]: He has it.
[12:29] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Wow.
[12:30] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Um, Tim is an incredible, uh, a comedian writer who's written for, uh, tonight show all that revival that James also wrote for, and you two have, uh, well, you were James on the new podcast.
[12:44] \[SPEAKER_02\]: You got to come announce that right.
[12:46] \[SPEAKER_09\]: Yes, yes.
[12:47] \[SPEAKER_09\]: I have a scripted podcast coming out called Judge Travis the first three episodes come out February 11th and James is in an episode and he was a pivotal part of the recording of it on multiple levels actually like you did some that's so much fun background voices and you were there as what's the proper term for
[13:11] \[SPEAKER_09\]: We had a reader.
[13:12] \[SPEAKER_09\]: I think just reader, yeah.
[13:14] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Probably is probably accurate reader.
[13:18] \[SPEAKER_09\]: And the show is called Judge Travis.
[13:19] \[SPEAKER_09\]: This is about the behind the scenes of a TV court show, like a judge math is type show and how it happens and the judge's personal life affects his verdict.
[13:28] \[SPEAKER_09\]: So it's like the Larry Sanders show and the Bernie Mac show combined.
[13:34] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And we are going to play a clip in this episode.
[13:36] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I do have played on the right.
[13:38] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Right.
[13:39] \[UNKNOWN\]: Right.
[13:46] \[SPEAKER_04\]: All rise for the honorable and to judge Percy Bernard Travis Jr. the second this court is now in session
[13:56] \[SPEAKER_06\]: But before we start, I'm letting y'all all know I don't like dogs.
[14:02] \[SPEAKER_06\]: I know I should meet dogs and Irish people weren't allowed in the certain stores back in the day.
[14:08] \[SPEAKER_06\]: But now dogs and Irish people are like two populations, most likely to be cops.
[14:12] \[SPEAKER_06\]: And they still follow me around TJ Mac.
[14:14] \[SPEAKER_06\]: So there's that.
[14:15] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Okay, stand out, see you there.
[14:17] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Never know if they're gonna hump you or buy you.
[14:19] \[SPEAKER_11\]: I should have called right there.
[14:22] \[SPEAKER_04\]: Why did you just talk to me?
[14:23] \[SPEAKER_04\]: I'm not afraid to rest the camera.
[14:25] \[SPEAKER_11\]: Hey, fine, Tony, you're down with the additional commentary.
[14:29] \[SPEAKER_11\]: Is that you crowning the wall or the door?
[14:32] \[SPEAKER_06\]: So, let me guess.
[14:33] \[SPEAKER_06\]: You were divorced couple fighting for custody of a dog.
[14:36] \[SPEAKER_06\]: You think it was a door, but it's actually ugly as hell.
[14:38] \[SPEAKER_07\]: I couldn't be further from the truth, Your Honor.
[14:41] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I hate to say this, but Brock is right, Your Honor.
[14:46] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It's our two cute dogs who are married.
[14:48] \[SPEAKER_01\]: What?
[14:49] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'm single, but dogs are out here getting legally booted up.
[14:52] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Make it make sense.
[14:53] \[SPEAKER_11\]: You understand, this is not building a good case for you to get that right.
[14:56] \[SPEAKER_06\]: You know, what's it going to say anything, Rock Hill?
[14:58] \[SPEAKER_06\]: But since you're asking for a man's perspective, I blame them unwathily, shack-sized, talented, you call nails.
[15:04] \[SPEAKER_06\]: You're trying to catch a man to call them a death.
[15:07] \[SPEAKER_06\]: I'm just kidding, or am I?
[15:10] \[SPEAKER_06\]: See, that's a simple beauty of getting roasted in the black eating.
[15:13] \[SPEAKER_00\]: See, I'm looking at my hashtag nail-of-sightess as we speak.
[15:17] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Oh, so you got pretend you can't hear me, mother damn.
[15:19] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Okay, I'm going to jump to explain this one to me fast and rhythmically like them Cooper Chuffling Structions.
[15:24] \[SPEAKER_07\]: You, me.
[15:25] \[SPEAKER_07\]: Brock's lost in your honor.
[15:27] \[SPEAKER_07\]: And this is my sweet little angel pointless.
[15:29] \[SPEAKER_07\]: And what if the dog's breed?
[15:31] \[SPEAKER_07\]: Portuguese, water dogs.
[15:33] \[SPEAKER_07\]: Sir, same as the Obama's dog.
[15:35] \[SPEAKER_07\]: I consider them one of our finest first families.
[15:38] \[SPEAKER_06\]: You got that, right?
[15:39] \[SPEAKER_06\]: You military, huh?
[15:40] \[SPEAKER_07\]: That's correct, Your Honor.
[15:42] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Hey, how about yourself?
[15:43] \[SPEAKER_06\]: No, no, no, no, no, but I did play a soldier in an ill-fated civil war sitcom on the United Paramount Network.
[15:51] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Now he could have just said you be here.
[15:52] \[SPEAKER_03\]: This is unfair.
[15:54] \[SPEAKER_03\]: You're clearly bonding with Brock over his military status and it's forming a bias.
[15:59] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Also, isn't United Paramount Network just UPN?
[16:02] \[SPEAKER_09\]: Herzley Lynch has avoided this topic.
[16:03] \[SPEAKER_09\]: I'm worried the younger crowd won't understand what paramount or a network is.
[16:08] \[SPEAKER_06\]: But, these kids ain't never watched the fuckers shut up.
[16:13] \[SPEAKER_06\]: I'm sorry.
[16:14] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Are you saying something?
[16:15] \[SPEAKER_06\]: You must be the defendant, Mr. Dwayne Hart.
[16:20] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Yes, and this is my dog, Chester.
[16:22] \[SPEAKER_06\]: And what would this dog's breathing?
[16:24] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Yes, he's a mud.
[16:25] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Hey, that's the same as what I got from Skipper.
[16:27] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Finally, he rules.
[16:28] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Now, Brock has accused Chester of making friends with dogs out of wedlock.
[16:34] \[SPEAKER_07\]: More than that you are.
[16:36] \[SPEAKER_07\]: He's knocked 14 other dogs up and barely ever spends time with totals.
[16:41] \[SPEAKER_07\]: I'm seeking an enrollment of full reimbursement for the wedding as well as pop support.
[16:46] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Oh, he smashed Twinkle's cheeks, too.
[16:48] \[SPEAKER_06\]: That's right.
[16:48] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Oh, you a bad dog, Chester.
[16:51] \[SPEAKER_06\]: I see you.
[16:51] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Now, I don't know much about canines.
[16:55] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Now, they're, they're little doggy condoms available.
[16:57] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Most people get them neutered.
[16:59] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Why didn't you do that, Nguayne?
[17:00] \[SPEAKER_06\]: I'm a devout Catholic.
[17:02] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Oh, okay, I must stay out of that.
[17:04] \[SPEAKER_06\]: See, after the Lord, and the Pope's got that antenna hat, too, did they pick up the God channel without static?
[17:09] \[SPEAKER_06\]: What'd you do for a living?
[17:10] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Data entry from home.
[17:11] \[SPEAKER_06\]: So I have plenty of time to focus on work as well as my five dogs.
[17:14] \[SPEAKER_06\]: The lies, the lies, the lies, the lies.
[17:17] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Five dogs.
[17:17] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Oh, oh, couldn't be me.
[17:19] \[SPEAKER_06\]: I got five kids, but at least they thought need me to clean and give them hugs at some point.
[17:24] \[SPEAKER_06\]: I mean.
[17:24] \[SPEAKER_06\]: I don't really mind getting Chester Hogg.
[17:27] \[SPEAKER_07\]: If Dwayne has so much time, why is this the first time Twinkle's and I have seen him in weeks?
[17:33] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Oh.
[17:34] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Okay.
[17:34] \[SPEAKER_06\]: It's starting to sound like this has less to do with the dogs and more to do with the two of you.
[17:40] \[SPEAKER_06\]: How did the humans hear me?
[17:41] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Online dating service, I'm assuming?
[17:43] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Hey, we're straight.
[17:44] \[SPEAKER_07\]: Okay.
[17:45] \[SPEAKER_07\]: Note it, damn.
[17:47] \[SPEAKER_07\]: It was Fortnite, sir.
[17:48] \[SPEAKER_07\]: A video game I escaped into when I got home from the service, sir.
[17:51] \[SPEAKER_07\]: See, as soon as I stepped off that plane, I could tell that the spark of love had dwindled in my wife's eyes.
[17:57] \[SPEAKER_07\]: Later, I learned it was because she'd been seen on me.
[18:01] \[SPEAKER_06\]: We said it's divorced.
[18:02] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Well, I'm sorry to hear that.
[18:04] \[SPEAKER_06\]: The voice is rough, no pun intended.
[18:06] \[SPEAKER_06\]: I mean, I wouldn't really know, because I'm in a perfect decades-long marriage with my childhood sweetheart.
[18:11] \[SPEAKER_06\]: I wrote about it in my book.
[18:12] \[SPEAKER_06\]: You could be us, but you play it.
[18:14] \[SPEAKER_07\]: I hope to have that someday.
[18:16] \[SPEAKER_07\]: Until then, I've got twinkles.
[18:18] \[SPEAKER_07\]: The light in her eyes has never wager.
[18:20] \[SPEAKER_00\]: No, Laura, please tell me he is not an entanglement.
[18:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: With that dog.
[18:24] \[SPEAKER_07\]: So where'd you two really mean?
[18:26] \[SPEAKER_07\]: A local dog park.
[18:27] \[SPEAKER_07\]: Chester and Twinkle's got a long instantly.
[18:29] \[SPEAKER_07\]: Later, Duane and I realized we'd actually met earlier in the game.
[18:32] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Dang, that's like a double meet queue.
[18:34] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Look at God where.
[18:36] \[SPEAKER_07\]: So after Chester and Twinkle's met, you started spending more time together in the real world.
[18:41] \[SPEAKER_07\]: Yes, you could say that.
[18:43] \[SPEAKER_07\]: I'd bring Twinkle to his place while we played video games.
[18:46] \[SPEAKER_07\]: You know, he'd bring Chester over while we were game.
[18:49] \[SPEAKER_06\]: So it's kind of like how, when Neo got to the real world from the Matrix, he feel going in a little computer program on the Nebuchadnezzar to learn kung fu.
[18:57] \[SPEAKER_06\]: Honestly, I haven't seen that movie in a while, but, sure, I think so.
[19:03] \[SPEAKER_08\]: All right, we just froze like this.
[19:05] \[SPEAKER_09\]: I hope you love that.
[19:07] \[SPEAKER_09\]: I hope you love that.
[19:09] \[SPEAKER_08\]: That's so funny.
[19:11] \[SPEAKER_09\]: And what I love about it is that it's like a,
[19:15] \[SPEAKER_09\]: It's a passion project by accident, so I pitched the idea for a specific network when they were going for a specific actor.
[19:28] \[SPEAKER_09\]: Yeah.
[19:28] \[SPEAKER_09\]: I love to talk about that later.
[19:31] \[SPEAKER_09\]: So I pitched that idea.
[19:32] \[SPEAKER_09\]: I forgot about it months later.
[19:34] \[SPEAKER_09\]: It came back to me and they were like, we're not going for the specific actor anymore.
[19:37] \[SPEAKER_09\]: So this pitch that was just like, you know, I feel like when you're pitching something in that way, you care about it to a certain degree, but not too much.
[19:44] \[SPEAKER_09\]: But when I handed it back to me and it wasn't attached anybody, I got really like excited to write the pilot.
[19:51] \[SPEAKER_09\]: And when I started writing the
[19:55] \[SPEAKER_09\]: even though it's a cliche of a judge character, I was really adding elements of my actual grandfather who I lived with in LA when I got my sort of writing for TV for the first time for six months.
[20:07] \[SPEAKER_09\]: He was from Louisiana.
[20:08] \[SPEAKER_09\]: He's the reason I have so many grandmas.
[20:10] \[SPEAKER_09\]: He was a player
[20:17] \[SPEAKER_09\]: It's that, but it's also like Steve Harvey, it's like all these other types into this this character and so that's with that character is Jack's is a producer character who links in current plays in the show who is a little bit more of an NPR type black person.
[20:33] \[SPEAKER_09\]: So the show is about that.
[20:34] \[SPEAKER_09\]: It's a specific flash and it was awesome, you know, putting the whole shell together.
[20:41] \[SPEAKER_09\]: But I say this because when we started recording the episodes that during that whole time when when James you're a part of that, I don't think a lot of people know this, but it was crazy.
[20:52] \[SPEAKER_09\]: It took my that that grandpa my mom's dad passed away right before I got married like a couple weeks before I got married and then by the time that we finally started recording the show.
[21:06] \[SPEAKER_09\]: Maybe like two years, I don't know, time is crazy.
[21:10] \[SPEAKER_09\]: A year or so after that, my mom's mom had passed away.
[21:13] \[SPEAKER_09\]: So I literally finished the last recording session that you were part of James and then went to her funeral.
[21:21] \[SPEAKER_09\]: So this is a project that is insanely personal, even though it is a comedy, but it's the first time that I realized, oh, it's like,
[21:29] \[SPEAKER_09\]: My eyes have been open to how valuable it is when you actually care about something even if it's a comedy because if you pitch something that somehow takes half a decade to come out, it's way better if it's not just some silly idea and it's something that you have some emotional stakes in.
[21:47] \[SPEAKER_09\]: So yeah, I think that's a good downer to lead into this movie.
[21:57] \[SPEAKER_02\]: yeah well i mean that sounds great no i hope people people please go check that out uh but yet today we are talking about the film loving uh this movie came out in 2016 it is about the uh i guess the couple um that was at the center of the
[22:18] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Supreme Court case that finally kind of made it like, hey, interracial marriage is okay everywhere in the United States.
[22:26] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And this movie stars Roosnega and Jill Ederton, it was kind of like an awards push, but I actually don't think it.
[22:36] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But it was nominated, it only got nominated for one Oscar and that was Ruth Negus performance.
[22:43] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And she was nominated for Best Actress, she didn't win, that was kind of, it wasn't nominated for anything else.
[22:51] \[SPEAKER_02\]: and uh... what else is there to say i guess uh... yet the uh... the movie um... although i'm looking up around to me to score real quick let's see it's the craziest episode of the cruel show i've ever seen oh my god that's right now cruel isn't this what isn't the only while i was like wow twenty six he was a different time
[23:15] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I was looking away when his character first started speaking and I was like, what?
[23:20] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I'm like, yeah, immediately personally.
[23:23] \[SPEAKER_03\]: What is happening?
[23:25] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Okay, 88% on Rotten Tomatoes critic score, 76% audience score.
[23:30] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It's budget was 9 million, it made 12.9 million at the box office.
[23:34] \[SPEAKER_02\]: So yeah, obviously didn't do super well at the box office.
[23:40] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And but critics liked it well enough, but yeah, not too many awards season, but it is about, you know, this is, you know, close to Valentine's Day and certainly Black History Month.
[23:52] \[SPEAKER_02\]: So why don't we start off initial thoughts and Tim, we usually let our guests go first unless you don't want to.
[23:59] \[SPEAKER_02\]: You could pass it.
[24:00] \[SPEAKER_09\]: I think I couldn't help it think about the timing.
[24:11] \[SPEAKER_09\]: during the Obama administration, and then it came out, and oh, 2016, he was still president in 2016, right?
[24:17] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Right.
[24:17] \[SPEAKER_02\]: So, yeah.
[24:18] \[SPEAKER_02\]: They came out like, while it was clear that Trump would be on, well, let's see, what's the actual date?
[24:25] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But you're right.
[24:26] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It was definitely filmed while Obama was president.
[24:28] \[SPEAKER_09\]: Yeah, yeah.
[24:29] \[SPEAKER_09\]: So it feels like it's like a marker of the end of a story type of movie.
[24:36] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Oh, it's released date was November 4th.
[24:38] \[SPEAKER_02\]: So I bet that was literally either right before right after from got to like that.
[24:43] \[SPEAKER_09\]: Yeah.
[24:43] \[SPEAKER_09\]: And it was crazy because I think everyone thought that Hillary was going to win.
[24:47] \[SPEAKER_09\]: So not everybody.
[24:48] \[SPEAKER_09\]: It felt like, well, in terms of mass media, I feel like all these movies, so it wasn't that when the Ruth Bader Ginsburg movie came out to like, all these movies, oh, is it going to be the, you know, the four years of women.
[24:59] \[SPEAKER_09\]: So if everything was prepared for that, yeah, and not aware that the total Trump was going to be the president.
[25:06] \[SPEAKER_09\]: Yeah, so that's kind of stuff that was really through my head, but I loved the simplicity of this movie and then similar to the Force Awakens, the third act.
[25:20] \[SPEAKER_09\]: I was just, I don't want to blame it on Nick Crawl.
[25:23] \[SPEAKER_09\]: I love comparing this film to the Force Awakens.
[25:28] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yeah, I mean, the Force Awakens, I don't want to blame it on Nick Crawl.
[25:35] \[SPEAKER_08\]: The Force Awakens, Louis, kind of disappointment.
[25:39] \[SPEAKER_02\]: All right, I hear that.
[25:41] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Okay, great, should, should, well, here, let me, let me go next before you guys go.
[25:48] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Cause I didn't, I didn't mind this movie.
[25:50] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And when I say I don't mind it, I mean like,
[25:55] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It's, no, I, no, truly, I thought it was, I thought it was okay.
[26:00] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I mean, like, it's, it's, it's a, okay.
[26:04] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Here's what I, honestly, this is literally what I thought when I was watching this movie.
[26:08] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I thought, wow, these two people must not have been that interesting of people.
[26:16] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like they must, it feels like the actual couple that went through all this was like,
[26:25] \[SPEAKER_02\]: country, you know, family that like we just want to live where we live and that's really it like we don't actually want to do all of this, but we do want to like live in Virginia and so we're going through this, but they're kind of, they're not they're not like a they're not very interesting and so the movie was like I don't know.
[26:54] \[SPEAKER_02\]: more we're focused on him more than we're focused on Ruth and then the later half of the movie I guess Ruth starts speaking much more than he does because he's like super quiet and doesn't want to talk to anybody and I mean it was interesting like the last line of the quote that they had on her deathbed was like I liked like he was nice to me and took care of me which was like
[27:23] \[SPEAKER_02\]: felt like, oh, okay, like, that's such a small.
[27:26] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I mean, like, it's like a nice, it's a nice sentiment, but it's like, you know, it doesn't feel like that grand of a thing to say about, you know, your husband who you went through this thing with.
[27:37] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And I feel like,
[27:39] \[SPEAKER_02\]: The movie like didn't care about the court case at all, which was weird at all.
[27:43] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah.
[27:44] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like it's like truly didn't care about it at all.
[27:46] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like we basically don't see it.
[27:48] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like we see a tiny bit of the opening remarks and then that's it.
[27:54] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And I was like, I kept waiting for, I was like, man, when are we gonna get to this court case?
[27:57] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And then it was just like at the very end, they were like, yeah, and then they got it.
[28:00] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And I was like, okay, so I thought that was a little strange because usually these movies like like to be like, show like here's whatever.
[28:08] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Do I guess the nice thing about that was like, it wasn't, it wasn't super focused on the white lawyers, like, they come in and they're like, they're barely in it either.
[28:21] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But not a lot happens in this movie.
[28:25] \[SPEAKER_02\]: So it is a little, it's a little sleepy time.
[28:28] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah.
[28:29] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But yeah, I don't know.
[28:30] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I thought the, I actually did really think the performances were really
[28:37] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah.
[28:38] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, I'm like, oh, the character she plays here is like very different from who she is.
[28:42] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, she's not this person, you know?
[28:44] \[SPEAKER_02\]: So I thought, like, so I was like, I was like, wow, she did really good job.
[28:48] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And I did, I did think Joel Ederson did a really good job playing.
[28:52] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Again, a person who seems very, really simple.
[28:56] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And I'm not trying to say that in disparaging way.
[28:58] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I just mean like,
[29:00] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Uh, it feels like they're, they're, they're in once in life or pretty basic or at least have a movie showcase them who knows what these people are actually like, I guess people who know them do, that's it.
[29:12] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Uh, yeah, anyway, that's all I have to say.
[29:17] \[SPEAKER_09\]: Go ahead.
[29:17] \[SPEAKER_09\]: I thought that the examples of racial friction were,
[29:22] \[SPEAKER_09\]: almost surprisingly subdued in a weird way.
[29:25] \[SPEAKER_09\]: That was a bridge.
[29:25] \[SPEAKER_09\]: A breath of fresh air.
[29:26] \[SPEAKER_09\]: Cause I think there's a way to be a very cliche racist white actor in one of these movies.
[29:33] \[SPEAKER_09\]: But I was surprised by how long it took to even get like some conflict from some of the black characters.
[29:38] \[SPEAKER_09\]: I think it's like in the third act that you finally get a guy kind of.
[29:44] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, that's a good point.
[29:47] \[SPEAKER_02\]: There's like almost no conflict from
[29:49] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Everybody's like, yeah, really, like everybody's just like, cool.
[29:54] \[SPEAKER_09\]: He's like, oh.
[29:54] \[SPEAKER_09\]: Yeah, there's a brick, almost lovingly placed in his car at one point.
[29:59] \[SPEAKER_09\]: Yeah.
[30:03] \[SPEAKER_03\]: That is actually.
[30:05] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I should know.
[30:09] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Wait, hold on.
[30:10] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I could have thrown this at you, cause that is such a funny way to describe that, because actually there was a part of me that was like, wait, was this man as a thread or was it actually or was it just like somebody like try to be like, hey man, I saw you in the, I saw your life magazine, like that's cool.
[30:27] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Dude, I like we make bricks.
[30:29] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I didn't know how to show it, so I'll just, I just wrapped it around one of these bricks.
[30:32] \[SPEAKER_03\]: We made, but I just wanted to thank you for breaking down the walls of society.
[30:36] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yeah, man.
[30:37] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yeah.
[30:38] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Maybe hang this up, hang this up in your home with your lovely Negro wife Chance you want to go.
[30:51] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yeah, I mean I get I feel like drop might have a little bit more to say Man, that's our that's our saving him.
[30:58] \[SPEAKER_03\]: No, I got no disappointment
[31:02] \[SPEAKER_03\]: But yeah, I mean, I didn't like this movie.
[31:05] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I, I, I, it felt like it was like a voiding, uh, Ruth Naga specifically.
[31:11] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like it felt like the movie was dancing around, having her participate in the story.
[31:16] \[SPEAKER_03\]: The line at the end, whether like, you know, she, you know, didn't like the media and stayed away and blah, blah, blah and stuff was like, okay, you're putting context into why,
[31:25] \[SPEAKER_03\]: You felt like you couldn't put words in this woman's mouth, but she was feeling stuff and she was going through stuff and we could have seen more of that.
[31:32] \[SPEAKER_03\]: That was my big, my biggest issue with the movie is that I was surprised that we didn't get into the, um, court case, but like it really, when it, when it, when it, I first got mad when she was in jail and they didn't show any of that.
[31:47] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It was just like, she's in jail.
[31:48] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Let's go follow this man.
[31:50] \[SPEAKER_03\]: All right.
[31:51] \[SPEAKER_03\]: The thing that this man is doing outside of prison while his wife is in prison for who knows how long.
[31:56] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I don't know if it was days or if it was hours or what, but I mean, I think I was at least probably at like three days or at least.
[32:03] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah.
[32:03] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And so it's like even if even if the only thing you thought interesting to write is like the one time that like I should throw this black man in there with you.
[32:19] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Um, so it's just sort of bait they didn't that happen and then the next time I got really mad was when the kid gets hit by the car
[32:28] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And you don't even see her get told.
[32:31] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It happened like I was just like, okay, okay, you're not giving her time to, you're not giving her chances to act anything.
[32:38] \[SPEAKER_03\]: You don't want her to experience any of the stuff that you're even putting in this movie.
[32:43] \[SPEAKER_03\]: So that, that I think is the movie's biggest issue is how it underwrites her.
[32:49] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Even if she is someone who is,
[32:52] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Not who is not a very public person did not talk to the media like you are you're making a movie now, so, you know, in bet right something, you know, so that was that was frustrating to me.
[33:07] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Outside of that, I mean, like, you know, I think that the movie clearly thought, I mean, thought that the story was worth.
[33:15] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I don't know how long it was two hours or whatever, you know, and wanted to kind of give it, give it that I know it felt felt good.
[33:21] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And wanted to kind of give it that, you know, and so.
[33:25] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And you can, you can just really tell the going off of what you were saying earlier, you can really tell that this movie is pretty Trump in the way that like ACLU is kind of funny and like how like, you know, the joke, the joke that really stands out is like, is there anything you want me to say to them?
[33:44] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Then being the Supreme Court Justice of the United States who it's like right.
[33:49] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Oh, you know the people that are gonna the people that are gonna You know right this into law and save the day and blah, blah, whatever, and it's like, no, fuck the Supreme Court You know, like like I literally feel like fuck the Supreme Court and they are just any up there all people who uh, you know Who who
[34:06] \[SPEAKER_03\]: who pre this time, I thought acted on, you know, really like considered the law and the meaning and what it would mean to people in blah, blah, whatever.
[34:17] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And it's like post that and in this era, you know, you just really realize how much people are asked and like and how, you know, they operate for money and their own self interest in blah, blah, whatever.
[34:28] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And so, you know, it's just really interesting to watch it now.
[34:34] \[SPEAKER_03\]: it with with all of this what's going on currently in mind like it sort of just makes some of that stuff even harder to to stomach and and then you know anyway whatever yeah I didn't have a good time but I'm glad we watched it I'll say that.
[34:53] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I was like that.
[34:54] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Yeah, man, I didn't like any part of this movie.
[34:56] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Um, I fuck out wasted my life as a matter of fact in the middle of the movie.
[35:02] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I got up and I went, not though my neighbor's door, play with his dog a little bit, came back and was like, uh, this is my thing.
[35:09] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I have a friend and she's been playing this movie.
[35:11] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Do you leave the movie playing?
[35:12] \[SPEAKER_08\]: No, I passed it.
[35:14] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I'm happy to let the shit plan because Ruth didn't talk for real for her to first have it as movie.
[35:19] \[SPEAKER_08\]: So okay, um, but there's a thing.
[35:22] \[SPEAKER_08\]: So one of my friends keeps talking about like how now in modern movies, and I think we talked about it on the podcast or movies and TV shows.
[35:30] \[SPEAKER_08\]: There's this big push where you see the the white guy like the famous white guy and a black woman, but it's very specifically is always a black woman, like thinking about Ruth and this movie Ruth was recently in 2025 on presumed innocent, which was Jake General Hall show, which Jason finnity first her first acting girl and I was thinking about her and that movie in
[35:54] \[SPEAKER_08\]: This, like that, that character feels like the evolution of this character, but this person, because she is, again, assisted to a white man who is going through a court thing, and it is different because it involves her, but not, but it's like, you know, I think in that show she has way more agency than she does in this movie, and I think about what
[36:19] \[SPEAKER_08\]: it wouldn't be so apparent that she's just like, along for the ride.
[36:23] \[SPEAKER_08\]: And again, I understand this is a real life movie, but also, so interesting is like, look, man, it hit him figures.
[36:30] \[SPEAKER_08\]: They have fucking taraji running halfway across the base to Farell.
[36:35] \[SPEAKER_08\]: That lady was like, I never run a no fucking bathroom.
[36:38] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Yeah, I remember her.
[36:39] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Like, she was like, I don't run a no bathroom.
[36:41] \[SPEAKER_03\]: She, she was just, to that same engine, I don't even feel like she was only along for the ride.
[36:47] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Because I had those couple moments where Joel didn't want to participate, but she would participate.
[36:53] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And it was this weird thing where this specific thing they're talking about, where it was like, we never saw her and then we would see her doing something, but it was like,
[37:02] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It was through the eyes of the man who didn't want to do something.
[37:05] \[SPEAKER_03\]: You know, you know, you know, you know, yes, like he walked in on her having like he exactly exactly exactly he walked in on her.
[37:11] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And then it was like, him being like, I wish you wouldn't do that.
[37:13] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And she's like, I think it's good.
[37:14] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And then that's it.
[37:15] \[SPEAKER_03\]: We don't we don't see our deciding to do it or dealing with any of the blah, blah, blah.
[37:18] \[SPEAKER_08\]: You know, like, anyway, to this point, this is a black woman who there's a black woman at a time, we're at the end of the day as they showed in this movie, her life is in danger, not his.
[37:31] \[SPEAKER_08\]: at every point, her life is in danger.
[37:33] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I mean, sure something can happen to him, but we see which one goes to jail.
[37:37] \[SPEAKER_08\]: You know, hey, and I think there's an urgency that is missed in this movie, and I think it's because Hollywood has just replacing you to always show things from a white man's point of view, bro.
[37:46] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Like I get it, but I think about hitting figures.
[37:48] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I didn't fucking need that white dude knocking down the colored-only bathroom signs.
[37:52] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Cause I didn't fucking exist.
[37:54] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Like, these things keep happening and I'm like, hey, if you're going to have this movie, have it be a true two-hander, let it be a two-hander, and it's not, it's really not, and I kind of feel, I mean, shit, we're in the Oscar season, and I feel like there's so many conversations happening right now about the Oscars and about some of the nominations.
[38:12] \[SPEAKER_08\]: And when I think about this movie, I think it's very cool that Ruth got a nomination.
[38:22] \[SPEAKER_08\]: It's what I struggle with about sinners and James, I think you're not talking about this is like, I do think sinners is a really good movie, but sinners got a bunch of nominations where it feels like
[38:30] \[SPEAKER_08\]: See, see, see, see, look, we see, we, we cool black people.
[38:35] \[SPEAKER_08\]: You know what I'm saying?
[38:36] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Like we, we not all bad.
[38:37] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Look at all the nominations.
[38:39] \[SPEAKER_08\]: And the thing is, I know it's not going win.
[38:42] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Eight of the motherfucking nominations.
[38:44] \[SPEAKER_08\]: And I think about Ruth getting this nomination.
[38:46] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Like, if I think about the scene, they must have shown them for getting this, you know what they showed the Oscar scene?
[38:51] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Like, oh, this is her nomination scene.
[38:53] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I don't know what scene that is.
[38:55] \[SPEAKER_08\]: It's not saying she's not a good actress, but it didn't give her,
[38:58] \[SPEAKER_08\]: She was a passenger to me in this movie and that sucks because like I feel like oftentimes black women are passengers especially the white man and then we do see her stand up like what James is saying we don't see her make the decision to stand up Like at any point.
[39:12] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I don't know man and I Yeah, I think I think the so it's interesting.
[39:19] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I there's a part of me that could I watch train dreams recently and Joel legends in that and that's a very quiet
[39:28] \[SPEAKER_02\]: movie with very subtle.
[39:30] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It's kind of like this, like everything is like very small and subtle and like like it's not it's not flashy in any sense of the word.
[39:37] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And so I do think the intention of this director was to make like people are the people who love who really love these who love this movie or really love the performances.
[39:49] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It's they love the small stuff and like
[39:52] \[SPEAKER_02\]: So the scenes in which she is deciding, she's not saying anything.
[39:56] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It's more just like everything's happening kind of with her eyes or emotionally or the, you know, like the scene that you're talking about James is like instead of showing instead of the dramatic moment of the kid being like, you know.
[40:09] \[SPEAKER_02\]: your son got hit by a car and her going out and crying or whatever.
[40:14] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Instead, it just cuts to the bags or packed.
[40:17] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And she's like, you know, I'm not living here anymore.
[40:21] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And like, she's just decided that.
[40:23] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And it was the same with the thing.
[40:25] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, she calls on the phone and she's like, gears that it's free.
[40:29] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And then it's like, I'm deciding we're going to do this.
[40:33] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But I agree that, especially the first half of the movie, we barely see her, and outside of the one conversation she has with her sister, which is a nice scene.
[40:45] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But outside of that, it's like everything is definitely being filtered through his lens.
[40:49] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And it does feel like the movie was kind of like, we gotta show this through the white lens first before we can get into her lens.
[40:58] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And almost like, does like a little bit of a hand off?
[41:01] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Wait, through and they're like, okay, now she's driving it a little bit, but they're both so soft spoken like now that either them really talk like
[41:10] \[SPEAKER_09\]: Yeah, I'm searching for a fix and I'm afraid that this fix also centers one of the white characters But it feels like the movie tab It feels like the movie would be ten times more interesting if it started with the photographer going there for some reason That was the most interesting stuff because the photos are famous and so if you're going through the lens of someone who's like a hundred percent
[41:31] \[SPEAKER_09\]: Yeah, who's been told to go there and he's trying to get a sense of everything.
[41:35] \[SPEAKER_09\]: He's an outsider.
[41:36] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Here we were saying I think maybe one of the things you're pointing to is like actually seeing their relationship and to me that's what I missed most about this movie is that I feel like we barely got to see their relationship and it's kind of strange that so I looked up the real life and
[41:57] \[SPEAKER_02\]: literally teenagers and she got pregnant at 18 like when like that first scene in the movie, which by the way, this movie is way too dark.
[42:05] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yes, guys, I could not see anything.
[42:09] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yes.
[42:09] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And you have to close all your windows up.
[42:11] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I close all my windows.
[42:12] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I had to turn the brightness up and I was like, I was like,
[42:14] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I understand there's a thing happening with our TVs and like it's been explained on the internet through several videos while like all of our Why everything looks too dark, but I also think that people are filming things not correct.
[42:26] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yes, I agree.
[42:27] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I agree and the lighting is like not good and it's just like guys we need to see what's happening
[42:33] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Anyway, um, but yeah, because like the previous movie opens a darkness and I'm like I kind of see them and they're like I'm she's like I'm pregnant.
[42:40] \[SPEAKER_02\]: He's like good Um, and then I was like I thought that was I thought that was going to be like a flashback But it wasn't it wasn't we chronologically keep going forward in this film and I was kind of like but
[42:58] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Isn't a huge part of this like showing how this romantic relationships started because it's literally illegal?
[43:04] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yes.
[43:05] \[SPEAKER_02\]: You know what I mean?
[43:05] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like there's a danger involved there and you don't have to my own my thing is like you don't have to show you don't have to show like racist white people like screaming at them or like throwing something at them or anybody like.
[43:18] \[SPEAKER_02\]: You could we can feel their danger just in how they meet or how they're looking around when they're being intimate or when she's telling her family for the first time.
[43:29] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And like even if her family didn't say anything and they were supportive, the stress of having to do that, the stress that he had to do, like that the mom, it was so interesting that the movie I couldn't tell if the mom was like,
[43:41] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Racists are not or I guess me, yes, too binary, but I literally was just like, I have no idea what this mom is like and I wish, I don't know, I was just like, it's just how they were with each other around other people and how that develop feels like a such a worthy thing to show and the fact that they didn't really show any of that.
[44:05] \[SPEAKER_02\]: or the court case, and I was like, well, if you're not even gonna show the court case, then you certainly had time to show this.
[44:11] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Didn't you?
[44:12] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Yeah, you know what it is, to though, I think about it in, I feel like Bray, that is an interesting topic, but I think in writing this movie, they probably felt that wasn't exciting enough.
[44:28] \[SPEAKER_08\]: If that makes sense, it's just like, I feel like what you're talking about is a nuance of,
[44:34] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Like friends, the super coaches ended a lot of people are talking about, you know, bad bunny and just him waking up the kid laying on 4 chair on 3 chairs.
[44:42] \[SPEAKER_08\]: That is a big deal to let in culture, but it's so small.
[44:47] \[SPEAKER_08\]: You being like, hey, how did they date them walking on the street?
[44:50] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Them looking over their shoulder and not making that a big deal.
[44:53] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Just a part of that everyday life.
[44:55] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I think it's drastically important.
[44:57] \[SPEAKER_08\]: But I think if you're making this movie for a predominant audience, which I do think is made for, that may go for people's hit.
[45:02] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Like, if it's just, if it's really just a,
[45:05] \[SPEAKER_08\]: There's a, I look to the side, I don't think that's going to be big enough for them because they're like, I don't know this experience unless you happen to be in an international relationship, you know, I guess I could understand that if I felt like this film.
[45:19] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But this film is not big and it's not just that.
[45:21] \[SPEAKER_05\]: That's not good, that's good, that's good.
[45:23] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I mean, anything big, like they didn't show like something bigger than that.
[45:29] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like adding that would only heighten what they've already set, like it would heighten what they've already established a little bit more, would have given, you know, it would have given weight to the, to the, to the, to the, to the brick.
[45:42] \[SPEAKER_03\]: You know, right because the bread.
[45:45] \[SPEAKER_09\]: Yeah, yeah, the scary.
[45:46] \[SPEAKER_09\]: Yeah, yeah, I was just clicking play with all the FBI warnings.
[45:50] \[SPEAKER_09\]: I had never clicked on any streaming thing where I saw that many FBI were a lot of FBI warnings.
[45:57] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, I have to say I have to say this actor who played the racist sheriff.
[46:04] \[SPEAKER_02\]: One of the scariest, one of the scariest portrayals of a racist cop I've seen, because he didn't do much in this movie.
[46:12] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I don't think he ever even raised his voice, and I was like, this dude will hang you.
[46:17] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah.
[46:18] \[SPEAKER_03\]: He's got a party feather.
[46:21] \[SPEAKER_03\]: He's got a party feather.
[46:22] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I was like, this guy is lynching at least one person.
[46:26] \[SPEAKER_02\]: For fact, you know what I mean?
[46:29] \[SPEAKER_02\]: You mean Minimumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumumum
[46:43] \[SPEAKER_02\]: that they showed so little.
[46:46] \[SPEAKER_02\]: What are the other things that was striking to me?
[46:47] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And again, I don't know if this is fair enough because I don't know the real story, but for me, it felt like the movie was kind of trying to show, like, hey, these guys, these people, they weren't really that brave or courageous, they kind of just happened upon the whole,
[47:03] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, like, they just went along for the ride almost and like, like, then showing the scene where they pled guilty, and they were both kind of just like, they didn't really put up much of a fight.
[47:16] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And they were just like guilty guilty.
[47:18] \[SPEAKER_02\]: great, I guess we're leaving and they left.
[47:21] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And then they like come in and they, they just want to have the baby with family around.
[47:29] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And then, but they have to get arrested again.
[47:31] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And they're just like, okay, and they get arrested again.
[47:34] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And I mean, I mean, you know, the ACLU,
[47:38] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Well, I mean, I know we shouldn't make this about the white people, but they were the puppet masters.
[47:44] \[SPEAKER_03\]: They were, they were like, oh, we can, this is the case to capitalize on.
[47:49] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Right.
[47:49] \[SPEAKER_03\]: You all got to get arrested a couple times, but we got you.
[47:52] \[SPEAKER_03\]: You know what I mean?
[47:53] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And like, that, the pulling of strings and the conversations and whatever was going on over there, the, like, four beats of that that we got, like,
[48:03] \[SPEAKER_03\]: everything else that was going on I am far more interested in you know I'm either far more interested in that for a movie or really write these people together and let me really see these people together and what it's like to have a relationship not not like because it's sort of just reads like a Wikipedia article it feels like the movie feels like a Wikipedia article and we we watch a lot of biopics where this happens I think we've said this multiple times on the podcast
[48:30] \[SPEAKER_03\]: But this one in particular feels like that where it's just like, these are the highlights, this kind of happened and they kind of got, you know, they were kind of, this person was kind of racist to them a little bit and they were in jail for this amount of time and they weren't in jail together and, you know, but like, that's what it was.
[48:46] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It wasn't like, two people that love each other going through an experience.
[48:50] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And at least the movie didn't feel like that and I think that's frustrating.
[48:55] \[SPEAKER_09\]: Yeah, you've got me thinking about how much we center white people in movies, even in the avatar films.
[49:01] \[SPEAKER_09\]: You can't just have a movie about.
[49:03] \[SPEAKER_10\]: Yes.
[49:04] \[SPEAKER_09\]: You just have a movie about blue people.
[49:05] \[SPEAKER_09\]: Yes.
[49:06] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I can go.
[49:07] \[SPEAKER_09\]: I can go.
[49:08] \[SPEAKER_09\]: I can go.
[49:09] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I can go.
[49:10] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I can go.
[49:11] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I can go.
[49:12] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I can go.
[49:13] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I can go.
[49:14] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I can go.
[49:14] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I can go.
[49:16] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I can go.
[49:17] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I can go.
[49:17] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I can go.
[49:19] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I can go.
[49:19] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I can go.
[49:21] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I can go.
[49:23] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I can go.
[49:24] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I can go.
[49:25] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I haven't seen him since the first one yet.
[49:27] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And good for you and you don't need to.
[49:29] \[SPEAKER_02\]: That's the same movie.
[49:30] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It is the same movie.
[49:32] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But it's just so funny how in every single one of these movies, like it's all about like, oh, like, like, at these humans.
[49:39] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, oh, like, oh, all these, like, the humans are doing all the bad stuff.
[49:42] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I like, we're the Navi and yet the people at the center of all of these stories are humans who just became.
[49:48] \[SPEAKER_08\]: The Navi and I was like, is that a white human's who become the Navi correct.
[49:53] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Well Yes, I mean actually 100% yes 100% yes draw and even if they weren't white to me It's like it's so smelly.
[50:04] \[SPEAKER_09\]: Yeah, it's like get out an avatar actually the same movie.
[50:06] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yes Tim is I talk about this all the time
[50:14] \[SPEAKER_03\]: No, it's the same shit.
[50:17] \[SPEAKER_08\]: The other one's about to fail me.
[50:18] \[SPEAKER_08\]: The only difference is that the wife people get away with it.
[50:21] \[SPEAKER_08\]: And we made him a heroes.
[50:22] \[SPEAKER_08\]: That's the only difference.
[50:24] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And they are heroes, but I'm like, that's what I'm saying is that in the avatar movies, like it is such a pure example of how
[50:34] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Hollywood normally treats like civil rights or anything that anything about any other race.
[50:41] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It's just like, here's the white person at the center.
[50:43] \[SPEAKER_02\]: They go into the other culture.
[50:46] \[SPEAKER_02\]: They save the people in this culture that they've adopted and point the finger at the bad white people and be like, ah, I'm talking last Sam or I'm talking dances with wolves.
[50:56] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I'm talking of freaking green book and all these moot but help.
[51:00] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It's just like that's what this is.
[51:02] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like it's just over and over again.
[51:04] \[SPEAKER_02\]: This is what we see.
[51:07] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, for this movie, I just feel like ultimately that I was like, if you're not gonna do the bells and whistles version of this, then like, please just make it about the relationship because at the end of the day, if you even wanna do character explorations of these people, that should exist within this relationship and we get glimmers of their relationship here and there, which is like cool, but I was just like,
[51:38] \[SPEAKER_02\]: more of them, like their romance, how their romance gets interrupted, is the stress of all this stuff that's happening, affecting their relationship and their marriage in any way, how does it affect their children, how they see their children, like, why don't we get a scene where what are these little kids comes in and is like, hey, a kid at class called me a half-breed?
[52:03] \[SPEAKER_02\]: What does that mean?
[52:04] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah.
[52:05] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And they have to like talk about it.
[52:07] \[SPEAKER_02\]: you know, or not talk about it, you know, but at least, like, let us see that thing because like, it's real, and you know that these people have to deal with this stuff.
[52:16] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I mean, especially because one of another, one of the big, kind of emotional moments is so just like, you know, the ACLU's like, so just so you know, like, they're going to, they're going to talk about your kids and about how horrible this is for your kids.
[52:30] \[SPEAKER_03\]: But at this, but even at this point in the movie, which is the last 20 minutes of the movie,
[52:34] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It does not feel like these kids are even experiencing it remote.
[52:39] \[SPEAKER_03\]: They're not getting any of it and maybe and maybe they feel it from, yeah, they maybe they did.
[52:46] \[SPEAKER_03\]: But like even kind of seeing moments of that and figuring out how they did, how they navigated that would have helped even to to juice up that moment at the end of the movie.
[52:57] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like they they even just refused to go into it.
[53:01] \[SPEAKER_03\]: But they, even though they still acknowledge it for a moment.
[53:04] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Even them leaving, even her being like, I don't want to be in DC anymore.
[53:09] \[SPEAKER_02\]: We have to move back.
[53:11] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And they just did that off of this like strange events of the kid like getting hit by the car.
[53:17] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I was kind of, but then he's totally fine.
[53:20] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I was like, I'm sorry, I need more than that.
[53:24] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I just do.
[53:25] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I don't believe I understand that the woman may have even interviewed with you and said like that was the moment I knew.
[53:32] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I don't care.
[53:33] \[SPEAKER_02\]: That's not a real person.
[53:34] \[SPEAKER_02\]: The real person there was things building up and that was the last straw.
[53:38] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like I need to see why she has felt so uncomfortable in D.C. Because the reality is a lot of people did move out of
[53:45] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like a lot of black people, especially during this time.
[53:49] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like this was the great migration time.
[53:50] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like people were leaving the south and being like, I'm done here, I'm going up north.
[53:54] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Now, a lot of people went up there and they're like, God, this isn't much better.
[53:59] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But there's a reason, like all black people were in the south and they went up to DC and freaking, you know, Ohio and New York, whatever, all these other places, like because they were leaving racism behind.
[54:11] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And so,
[54:13] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I wanna know about the person who left it and then was like, I hate the city.
[54:18] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And like, why that is?
[54:20] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, is it just the fact that it's a city?
[54:22] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Maybe that's true.
[54:23] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Was there other racism issues experiencing it a way that felt different and she hated it?
[54:27] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, all the people around, like, what was something happening to her kids?
[54:30] \[SPEAKER_02\]: More so than just like, getting hit by a cook.
[54:32] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Cause I'm like, your kid could've got hit by a car in the country.
[54:35] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, I understand there's more cars around.
[54:37] \[SPEAKER_02\]: There's too many cars.
[54:38] \[SPEAKER_03\]: That's, but like, if it becomes the reason is there's too many cars.
[54:43] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Terribly ironic is that we find out that this guy dies from a junk truck driver in Virginia, so anyway whatever Yeah, that was fine
[55:00] \[SPEAKER_08\]: have a hard time with this movie man.
[55:02] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I don't even know what's good or bad to say about it.
[55:04] \[SPEAKER_08\]: It's like, it existed.
[55:05] \[SPEAKER_08\]: You know what I mean?
[55:06] \[SPEAKER_09\]: It existed.
[55:07] \[SPEAKER_09\]: I kept thinking about, I know it's not the same time.
[55:10] \[SPEAKER_09\]: I kept thinking about centers.
[55:11] \[SPEAKER_09\]: I kept thinking about like love craft country.
[55:13] \[SPEAKER_09\]: Oh, yeah.
[55:14] \[SPEAKER_09\]: I think about every civil rights or movie or anything that has to do with the, you know, the black experience.
[55:20] \[SPEAKER_09\]: And I had this vision of like a super cut like it would be so easy.
[55:24] \[SPEAKER_09\]: to almost make an Avengers style movie because we have all these movies about these eras now.
[55:30] \[SPEAKER_09\]: So you can cut between a scene from sinners and a movie like loving and find some other medanir, medanir live in there or cut from the color purple to love craft country and find something amazing.
[55:47] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Just just some food for that for the
[55:56] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, what do you guys think in the crawl?
[55:59] \[SPEAKER_09\]: It's not him, it's just all of those scenes were so clunky and it was just like, he says something and then his partner says something to correct him and it's like, you know, you can't do that because of this and it's just sort of like, very Wikipedia.
[56:13] \[SPEAKER_09\]: I don't know if the ACLU is the one giving network notes or I don't know if it could be.
[56:21] \[SPEAKER_05\]: Now it's talking about lots.
[56:23] \[SPEAKER_03\]: about it really a lot.
[56:26] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It just, it did make me, I, I, I texted the guys, well, was watching that when when I realized what was happening, that it was like, oh, they kind of have ACLU, they're kind of like comedians, they're funny, they, they like the sort of deliberately cast funny people to play the part.
[56:42] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And it was like, to me, that's the most
[56:46] \[SPEAKER_03\]: pre-Trump thing about the movie.
[56:48] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Even though you could also still make this post-Trump and highlight it even more, but you're making sort of different choices at that point.
[56:57] \[SPEAKER_03\]: But the most pre-Trump thing about this movie is that where it's like, sort of like, kind of funny how they, we're back when they didn't know anything, you know, like, it's sort of the vibe, they're trying to make.
[57:09] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And so it casts a weird, or it's just a weird mark
[57:15] \[SPEAKER_03\]: They don't fully play it up for comedy, but I do believe that that is the reason why like like comedian for all those moments of like
[57:26] \[SPEAKER_03\]: You know, you don't really know this type of law, do you or like, you know, the X, Y and C isn't really going to work out.
[57:34] \[SPEAKER_03\]: But like, but they just kind of buy gum.
[57:36] \[SPEAKER_03\]: They believe in it or whatever.
[57:37] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It's sort of the vibe they were trying to get across.
[57:40] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And so it was frustrating.
[57:42] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like, I'm like, oh, good for Nick Crow when I see it, but it's like, becomes frustrating in the context of like, when this movie was made versus when it comes out.
[57:51] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And then and everything that has happened since.
[57:56] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It is that you're also making me think like, okay, we know the real story about like Rose Parks, right?
[58:03] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like how yeah, like she wasn't actually the first black woman to do that and like they had and they had to like Organize that because they had to create a narrative that is going to impact you know the news and and and the country has a whole and so we know
[58:21] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like that the civil rights movement was very calculated in this way, which tells me that this wasn't like just like like they picked this case like this couldn't have been the only
[58:48] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Why y'all definitely the name definitely that last name the last name is huge I know I actually agree with you like I do think the last name but it's crazy You don't talk about it.
[58:59] \[SPEAKER_02\]: They don't talk about it in the movie at all.
[59:01] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, but I'm like his the last same is loving like that's like yeah, I think that does affect it.
[59:08] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It affects them because like the filmmakers Right the filmmakers are going but we don't want to
[59:15] \[SPEAKER_03\]: we don't want to do to them, you know, like we don't want to take advantage of that in the context of this movie, they really did love each other, you know, like it's almost coming from that, like it's almost coming from because they must also know, like I was looking up that that this sort of came about because one of the one of the attached producers was originally going to do, and maybe even still did a documentary about
[59:40] \[SPEAKER_03\]: about them post post uh the woman's passing um and so like like they no at least at the core of this getting made is a ton of research that they actually did and they must know a fair amount you know so for but for them to be like
[59:58] \[SPEAKER_03\]: They must know that somebody they see a lead like the idea that they're lasting was loving and wanted to capitalize on that in this context and they're like oh no, we can't we can't do that We have to focus on the fact that these two people really did love each other and that's what the movies is imagine it's starting off the pile of of photos of interracial couples and there's a thing to know
[1:00:20] \[SPEAKER_08\]: They probably had a high degree.
[1:00:22] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I find they probably had to, but also I think breakpoint is right is like, you know, when you finally heard this story about Rosa Parks was like the woman they had first was darkest skin.
[1:00:30] \[SPEAKER_08\]: She was pregnant and like,
[1:00:33] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I'm fortunate that you can't sell it up to white people.
[1:00:35] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Like you, you know, that's unfortunate.
[1:00:38] \[SPEAKER_08\]: But like, yeah, tell us why they're in.
[1:00:41] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Like, you're good to guy sucks.
[1:00:43] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Sorry.
[1:00:43] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yeah, guys, he sucked.
[1:00:45] \[SPEAKER_03\]: At least when he sucked.
[1:00:46] \[SPEAKER_03\]: See in the picture at the end where he was smiling, I was like, why Joe links him out of home movie?
[1:00:49] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Why Joe links him out of home.
[1:00:53] \[SPEAKER_08\]: like you're fighting for the love of your life in like that.
[1:00:56] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Exactly.
[1:00:57] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Whatever.
[1:00:58] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Whatever.
[1:00:59] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Well, that's it.
[1:00:59] \[SPEAKER_02\]: That's my thing.
[1:01:00] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And that's why I wanted to see more of their relationship because then maybe we could have if this how if this was how he really was at least in public with people and he was super quiet and down like didn't say anything and like,
[1:01:12] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I mean, there is a part of me though that was like, oh, like, she liked them because he, whatever she was like, this is what I want.
[1:01:20] \[SPEAKER_02\]: He would just, he would shut up and do it.
[1:01:23] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like he just was like, okay, you know, but like, but let's see that relationship because I, you know, to your point James, if they're really in love with each other, like,
[1:01:34] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I know that because the film tells me that, you know, and like, but like, we barely get those moments with them with, you know, we get it just a tiny bit and we get that one scene of them in the field where he's like, you know, tells her that he bought the field and he wants to make a house and her post and says, I wanna marry you.
[1:01:52] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And that's really it.
[1:01:53] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I feel like, and most of the other movie is them dealing with this stuff almost separately, like, not even together, you know?
[1:02:03] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, yeah, that's the part that I feel like I really
[1:02:08] \[SPEAKER_08\]: miss also did you guys realize how much time had had had passed like this movie takes place right yeah I didn't know honestly I just watched this movie to finish it like yeah you know I can it it's definitely a boring movie I think even the director asked to be like I mean it's boring but I'm the director and the writers and I'm just like what is it white people
[1:02:35] \[SPEAKER_08\]: And this woman could be a white assing black woman but she seems Caucasian.
[1:02:41] \[SPEAKER_11\]: And I just wonder sometimes the director is, oh, he is, he's white as they go up.
[1:02:45] \[SPEAKER_08\]: He's a white man.
[1:02:46] \[SPEAKER_08\]: But I'm just thinking like, it comes back to that question of who can tell what story he's man.
[1:02:51] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Because I think there's just some nuance that just isn't here.
[1:02:54] \[SPEAKER_08\]: And I'm like, when they're consultants, you know, like, for instance, if you had to make a movie about somebody with a disability, somebody who's blind or something,
[1:03:04] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Ideally, you would have a consultant to talk about that experience to make sure things are getting done properly or like talk you through, ask you questions like, that's you way, that was okay.
[1:03:19] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I was like, you were said, maybe she's passing it out.
[1:03:22] \[SPEAKER_02\]: She was trying to get a bit of a fit of the down.
[1:03:23] \[SPEAKER_08\]: No, bro, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
[1:03:30] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Oh, let's try it.
[1:03:31] \[SPEAKER_09\]: Uh, you're, you all do a lot of acting.
[1:03:34] \[SPEAKER_09\]: Have you been in a civil rights era?
[1:03:37] \[SPEAKER_09\]: Anything?
[1:03:38] \[SPEAKER_09\]: Oh, wish.
[1:03:39] \[SPEAKER_09\]: Yeah.
[1:03:40] \[SPEAKER_09\]: Give me one of them things.
[1:03:41] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Come on.
[1:03:42] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Now.
[1:03:44] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I'm giving you one of them things.
[1:03:45] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Thankfully, maybe thank goodness.
[1:03:47] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Maybe.
[1:03:47] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Imagine the one that you were in was emancipation.
[1:03:51] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Oh my god.
[1:03:52] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I know.
[1:03:54] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Good job, man.
[1:03:55] \[SPEAKER_02\]: No, I forgot about that.
[1:03:57] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I remember, do I remember that?
[1:03:58] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I know, it will.
[1:03:59] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Of course you did every little movie.
[1:04:01] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Nobody saw that.
[1:04:01] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I was like, what do you mean?
[1:04:02] \[SPEAKER_08\]: What do you mean?
[1:04:06] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It's such a, it's almost like it's almost like it's almost like it's almost like the, it's almost like the embarrassment of him slapping Chris rock at the Oscars actually saved him from the embarrassment of emancipation because by the time that came out, everybody was like, well, he's he's cancel for at least five years, right, uh, and and so nobody even talked about it.
[1:04:26] \[SPEAKER_02\]: We didn't have to talk about the fact that the guy who just won best actor is in a slave movie.
[1:04:31] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, I heard he's coming up.
[1:04:34] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, he wasn't actually cancer because bad boys did what pretty well.
[1:04:38] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I mean, but he was canceling sometimes you got smack in it.
[1:04:42] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I don't know.
[1:04:42] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I was like, listen, I don't know what you're supposed to do.
[1:04:45] \[SPEAKER_03\]: But correct me from wrong.
[1:04:46] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And I know this is not what we talking about, but we're correct me from wrong.
[1:04:49] \[SPEAKER_03\]: The slap happened and then they just fast track bad boys for it.
[1:04:55] \[SPEAKER_08\]: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, sorry, because bad boys supposed to be back to back.
[1:05:01] \[SPEAKER_08\]: It was supposed to be like that.
[1:05:02] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I remember I'm supposed to be but I think they already they already had the the the the brothers already locked it I think it was like yeah, no, but I mean I mean production and everything because because because it was supposed to be back I'm saying it was supposed to be back back it was not back to back
[1:05:18] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I know COVID was in there, but a few years best.
[1:05:23] \[SPEAKER_03\]: The slap happened and the name was like, Hey, all right, we got to get in there.
[1:05:28] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Oh, we got it.
[1:05:28] \[SPEAKER_03\]: We got it.
[1:05:29] \[SPEAKER_03\]: We got it.
[1:05:30] \[SPEAKER_03\]: We got it.
[1:05:33] \[SPEAKER_09\]: Have you covered wild, wild west on the show?
[1:05:36] \[SPEAKER_09\]: Yeah, we did it.
[1:05:37] \[SPEAKER_09\]: I just, I don't know where.
[1:05:39] \[SPEAKER_09\]: I just had a real urge to watch that music video a couple days ago.
[1:05:42] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It's a great and incredible music video.
[1:05:44] \[SPEAKER_09\]: Yeah.
[1:05:45] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Incredible music video.
[1:05:46] \[SPEAKER_09\]: Yeah.
[1:05:47] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I just heard Gigi with it for the first time in a long time, and I was like, bro, this is a gang of, like, legitimately, like, I heard it, I was like, yo, it was such a fun, it was such a fun, it was such a fun, it was such a fun, it was such a fun, it was such a fun, it was such a fun, it was such a fun, it was such a fun, it was such a fun, it was such a fun, it was such a fun, it was such a fun, it was such a fun, it was such a fun, it was such a fun, it was such a fun, it was such a fun, it was such a fun, it was such a fun, it was such a fun, it was such a fun, it was such a fun, it was such a fun, it was such a fun, it was such a fun, it was such a fun, it was such a fun, it was such a fun, it was such a
[1:06:07] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Well, you ain't telling me who really saw wasn't a moment bro.
[1:06:11] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Like you're that I like well any em too
[1:06:24] \[SPEAKER_08\]: No, is that the butter he come to butter made me stop it.
[1:06:28] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I hate bringing a scene here I'm saying it.
[1:06:31] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I don't like you saying the butter.
[1:06:32] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I don't like you Like it he come to butter while less is on wheel.
[1:06:39] \[SPEAKER_02\]: That's great.
[1:06:40] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, just go.
[1:06:41] \[SPEAKER_08\]: It's like five Okay, oh my god, I'm here for this will two cave.
[1:06:46] \[SPEAKER_08\]: It was fun.
[1:06:47] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I forgot we're on a Wilson tangent We don't what does movie.
[1:06:50] \[SPEAKER_08\]: We're great.
[1:06:51] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I love Wilson
[1:06:52] \[SPEAKER_08\]: This video is so bad, it broke the Raylock's Wi-Fi.
[1:06:54] \[SPEAKER_08\]: It was it.
[1:06:55] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I don't want your Wi-Fi.
[1:06:56] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I'm back.
[1:06:57] \[SPEAKER_08\]: You're a watchin' movie in like, timin' this thing, you go, oh, no.
[1:07:02] \[SPEAKER_09\]: That's even, I don't know what I expect from these kinds of movies.
[1:07:05] \[SPEAKER_09\]: I guess I was like, pleasantly surprised at nothing to come up with the top because I feel like that's kind of what I expect.
[1:07:14] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But yeah.
[1:07:16] \[SPEAKER_02\]: That's true.
[1:07:16] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It wasn't over the top and those movies you these movies usually are made.
[1:07:19] \[SPEAKER_08\]: These movies are like also we keep making them.
[1:07:22] \[SPEAKER_08\]: We keep making them it's like why like people complain.
[1:07:27] \[SPEAKER_08\]: People get Oscar nominations and again like I struggle with talking about like the Oscars this season because I feel like there has been conversations about like
[1:07:36] \[SPEAKER_08\]: What plays in the what stereotype what does what which you know, I think our honest conversations, I just don't personally know how to have them, but it's like, and then when was it then it was, um, what's her name, um, Amanda.
[1:07:53] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Medisec Free was even like, who cares about the Oscars?
[1:07:55] \[SPEAKER_08\]: No one knows it in 10 years.
[1:07:57] \[SPEAKER_08\]: They're like, who cares?
[1:07:58] \[SPEAKER_08\]: And it is like an Oscar curse for some people.
[1:08:00] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I don't think this shit helps.
[1:08:02] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I mean, we only have black, one black woman wins.
[1:08:04] \[SPEAKER_08\]: We don't even know how that works.
[1:08:05] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It certainly helps in the way that it helps.
[1:08:08] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And then it doesn't help.
[1:08:09] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And the way that it doesn't help.
[1:08:10] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It certainly does not help.
[1:08:13] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Certain people ask for more money as evidence by Terence Howard being fired from Iron Man, you know, it certainly doesn't help Certain, you know, that's part of why there's the best actress curse.
[1:08:26] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Oh, I got to pay this woman more
[1:08:31] \[SPEAKER_08\]: The tier is how our stuff is so BS, like they pay him all that money in the first one because Robert Downey was uninsurable because he was a drug addict who like fell asleep in his neighbor's child's bed Yeah, he won't forget this and my man.
[1:08:44] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Could you imagine making a movie?
[1:08:47] \[SPEAKER_08\]: That becomes a blockbuster over a hundred million and they want to keep you at the same budget while paying the first thing
[1:08:53] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Like, why would you throw Garrett in the BS?
[1:08:56] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It would, but the, and my thing is it's BS even without the fact that they couldn't ensure a Robert Downey Jr. and blah, blah, blah, blah, whatever.
[1:09:03] \[SPEAKER_03\]: My man is now worth more money.
[1:09:06] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yes, pay him more money.
[1:09:09] \[SPEAKER_03\]: He's care about what Robert Downey's getting.
[1:09:11] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I don't care about what, when if Taltos getting, I don't care what, how much, y'all know how much money y'all made?
[1:09:17] \[SPEAKER_03\]: They was like, nah, we getting Don Cheeto.
[1:09:19] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And Don Cheeto was like,
[1:09:22] \[SPEAKER_10\]: Yeah, I guess what it really worked out.
[1:09:29] \[SPEAKER_10\]: Well, we live in it really worked out for him.
[1:09:32] \[SPEAKER_10\]: That's a lot more pictures he was here.
[1:09:34] \[SPEAKER_08\]: So sure how much I said it up.
[1:09:37] \[SPEAKER_08\]: All right.
[1:09:38] \[SPEAKER_08\]: That's it for this.
[1:09:39] \[SPEAKER_08\]: What do you mean?
[1:09:39] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I'm not.
[1:09:40] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Damn it.
[1:09:41] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Did you get a whole time?
[1:09:43] \[SPEAKER_08\]: That screen was black two seconds ago.
[1:09:46] \[SPEAKER_08\]: That was a hell.
[1:09:48] \[SPEAKER_08\]: God damn it.
[1:09:51] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It's time for the cause you rain review films, not based on how much we like to put whether or not it helps the cause of leading black actors in Hollywood.
[1:09:57] \[SPEAKER_02\]: If it fully helps the cause, we give it a black fist, but someone helps the cause.
[1:10:00] \[SPEAKER_02\]: We give it a white palm.
[1:10:02] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It doesn't really help the cause at all.
[1:10:03] \[SPEAKER_02\]: We don't give it anything.
[1:10:04] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Don't account at three.
[1:10:05] \[SPEAKER_02\]: We'll raise our ratings for loving.
[1:10:08] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Not whether we liked it.
[1:10:11] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Did it help the cause of more leading black actors in Hollywood?
[1:10:18] \[SPEAKER_05\]: Here we go.
[1:10:20] \[SPEAKER_05\]: one.
[1:10:22] \[SPEAKER_10\]: Yeah, too.
[1:10:23] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, it's kind of a it's a yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie yollie y
[1:10:47] \[SPEAKER_09\]: It's kind of a, I think we all described how boring the movie was.
[1:10:51] \[SPEAKER_09\]: I don't know how well it did in the box office.
[1:10:54] \[SPEAKER_09\]: I don't know who saw it and I feel like it's just sort of.
[1:10:59] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, I mean, what, what, there's nothing to, what is the pro, what, what, what, what's the progress?
[1:11:05] \[SPEAKER_02\]: That's what he, that's what Tim says.
[1:11:07] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Draw that's what you said.
[1:11:08] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Basically, I thought like, I agree.
[1:11:10] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I think her getting his Oscar nomination doesn't help.
[1:11:12] \[SPEAKER_08\]: It wasn't like Ruth got a bunch of movie and projects after this.
[1:11:16] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Honestly, and it wasn't even as fun as the super-offensive movies.
[1:11:20] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Like, I hate
[1:11:22] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Green book you know what I mean but I hate it like you know like when I look at when I look at like hitting figures I'm like what the fuck is this when I watch this movie do you know what I think Nothing I think nothing.
[1:11:38] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Yeah, I think I think I could have done I think I could have watched But that's actually kind of impressive that is in a way impressive it is how are you be offensive and boring?
[1:11:50] \[SPEAKER_03\]: All right.
[1:11:51] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yeah.
[1:11:51] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I mean, I gave it a poem because I do think that it is like like while the movie didn't quite understand how to write Bruce character, I do think that like getting an Oscar nomination this leading to an Oscar nomination for Ruth and it not so much being like it's not quite the same as like some of these other other movies.
[1:12:15] \[SPEAKER_03\]: that's why I give it's like okay yeah like like if they would have just also written the character a little bit better or whatever then it's then we're leaning more towards a fist but I think it kind of helps in elevating her in that particular respect you know and yeah and not quite knowing how it helps or or if this particular Oscar nomination leads to more stuff for her
[1:12:41] \[SPEAKER_03\]: is where it becomes nebulous, but like the fact that she got the Oscar nomination, the fact that people might look up to that and be inspired by that, that's why I gave it just the Paul.
[1:12:53] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Okay.
[1:12:54] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And I gave it a fist because a none of us heard about Ruth Nega, didn't know who this woman was and she's been I think since
[1:13:01] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Okay, really?
[1:13:02] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yes, for what?
[1:13:04] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Unless when was preacher was preacher before after and what about ages of shield?
[1:13:07] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I watched both of those.
[1:13:08] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Shoes on ages of shield?
[1:13:10] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yeah, but I think I knew her from preacher prior.
[1:13:13] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Ancient of shield.
[1:13:15] \[SPEAKER_03\]: But when was he?
[1:13:16] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I might be wrong.
[1:13:17] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Well, the future was 26 years.
[1:13:20] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Same here.
[1:13:22] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Same here.
[1:13:23] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Okay, ancient of shield was before.
[1:13:26] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Okay, yeah, then I already knew about her.
[1:13:29] \[SPEAKER_03\]: So you really you heard me if hold on hold on so I knew her name from I knew her name for me Just from preacher from preacher not okay from preacher which was the same year so I you know That's nebulous, you know, I don't know you know could be could be the same could be that the movie happened But she had already booked that you know what I mean, but she's in that first look season right preacher I haven't seen a movie passing but how does this hold up to a
[1:13:53] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Well, that's why I was guarded.
[1:13:55] \[SPEAKER_02\]: That's why I gave it a fist because she started.
[1:13:58] \[SPEAKER_02\]: She literally got another leading role from this and passing.
[1:14:01] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, even though, well, I mean, right, like, I just feel like, I know, I think that, like,
[1:14:09] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Okay, so she was also in Ad Astra and that wasn't as big of a role, but you know, it's a bigger, well, it could have been a big movie.
[1:14:18] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I guess it wasn't really that big, but, you know, it's a Brad Pitt movie and yeah, she hasn't had a huge career from this, but I do think like, because the only thing that was nominated from this film was her performance, I think that counts as, you know, I feel like that helps the cause more so than some other, some of these other things.
[1:14:37] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I think it put her on a playing field, even if she's not getting a lot of stuff, she's you know, she's in the, she's in the mix, you know, she got her name out there.
[1:14:49] \[SPEAKER_03\]: She's really good in preacher.
[1:14:51] \[SPEAKER_03\]: You all haven't seen it and she stands out.
[1:14:55] \[SPEAKER_08\]: It's not that the show with that the character that has do with it.
[1:15:00] \[SPEAKER_08\]: But hold for some amount.
[1:15:02] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Yes.
[1:15:02] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Yes.
[1:15:04] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I know, that's all I know too.
[1:15:07] \[SPEAKER_03\]: All I know is like, like, like, it was good.
[1:15:10] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I didn't keep watching the show after that first season, but it's good.
[1:15:13] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I like it.
[1:15:13] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Well, she's so beautiful.
[1:15:14] \[SPEAKER_08\]: She changes like, I am done.
[1:15:15] \[SPEAKER_03\]: He's there immediately.
[1:15:17] \[SPEAKER_03\]: He's there immediately.
[1:15:20] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Yeah, but I'm a little thirsty from it.
[1:15:22] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Yeah, like, hey, this still makes it.
[1:15:26] \[SPEAKER_02\]: All right.
[1:15:27] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Well, one black face, one white palm to nothings.

[1:19:07] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Okay, it's you.
[1:19:07] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Yeah, because we're trying to, we're turning the bank love up.
[1:19:10] \[SPEAKER_08\]: We're turning the bank.
[1:19:11] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Big number.
[1:19:12] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Number.
[1:19:13] \[SPEAKER_03\]: So we're going to start doing certain numbers.
[1:19:15] \[SPEAKER_03\]: We put certain numbers together.
[1:19:16] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Those are numbers that we're going to be.
[1:19:19] \[SPEAKER_08\]: You guys are not afraid that's right.
[1:19:22] \[SPEAKER_08\]: What you do it right?
[1:19:22] \[SPEAKER_08\]: No, don't 25.
[1:19:25] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yeah, there we go I'm gonna know exactly what it is me.
[1:19:31] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I'll show up.
[1:19:31] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I'm not playing that I'm I'm a grown man.
[1:19:37] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I'm a
[1:19:41] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Oh my god.
[1:19:42] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I got a kid, I got a white, I got a baseball.
[1:19:46] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I got a stress, my knees hurt.
[1:19:49] \[SPEAKER_02\]: By the way, could I just, could I say like, I realize people are like, you know, people say like, I got a mortgage to pay.
[1:19:55] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, I got to pay a mortgage.
[1:19:56] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And like,
[1:19:58] \[SPEAKER_11\]: That's just a humble flex because your morgue is caused just as much as my rent is, but you're also, you also own a house, you own it, and you have equity.
[1:20:06] \[SPEAKER_11\]: So I don't, I don't ever want to hear, I gotta pay a mortgage anymore.
[1:20:09] \[SPEAKER_11\]: I'm like, I gotta pay rent, bro.
[1:20:12] \[SPEAKER_11\]: Yeah.
[1:20:12] \[SPEAKER_11\]: And I was like, you've got a mortgage.
[1:20:14] \[SPEAKER_11\]: I don't care about your mortgage.
[1:20:16] \[SPEAKER_11\]: I wish I could pay a mortgage.
[1:20:18] \[SPEAKER_11\]: I mean, you had money sometimes.
[1:20:19] \[SPEAKER_09\]: That's just like a really, it feels like a really criss-rock bit the way you're talking about.
[1:20:25] \[SPEAKER_08\]: We're going to be like, oh, Nick, this is going to you.
[1:20:29] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I really, I just didn't do this stand up.
[1:20:32] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It doesn't make sense why I'm not.
[1:20:34] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It's just laziness.
[1:20:35] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I don't, also I don't like, open my exciting way.
[1:20:38] \[SPEAKER_02\]: We don't need to talk about this.
[1:20:40] \[SPEAKER_09\]: Okay.
[1:20:41] \[SPEAKER_09\]: Just one more thing to entice people, listen to just Travis, just the simple fact that George Wallace isn't multiple episodes.
[1:20:50] \[SPEAKER_09\]: Oh, that's a, I mean, the legend's black history right there.
[1:20:56] \[SPEAKER_08\]: That was really good.
[1:20:57] \[SPEAKER_02\]: George Wallace is so funny.
[1:20:59] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Yeah.
[1:21:00] \[SPEAKER_09\]: Oh my god, if you ever get the pleasure of just talk to that man in real life.
[1:21:04] \[SPEAKER_09\]: Can I read you something?
[1:21:05] \[SPEAKER_09\]: This will be the last thing.
[1:21:08] \[SPEAKER_03\]: We'll put this earlier than that.
[1:21:10] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Is it right if we just talk to the tank?
[1:21:12] \[SPEAKER_09\]: I'm going to find this.
[1:21:13] \[SPEAKER_09\]: Yeah, because people have definitely to death.
[1:21:17] \[SPEAKER_09\]: The only reason he is in this is because I realize we followed each other and Twitter and I DMed him.
[1:21:25] \[SPEAKER_09\]: It was a long DM, I would just read you with your respond at the day after.
[1:21:28] \[SPEAKER_09\]: I sent it August 12, 2024.
[1:21:32] \[SPEAKER_09\]: Oh, and this is what he responded on August 13th, 2024.
[1:21:36] \[SPEAKER_09\]: Tim Barnes period.
[1:21:38] \[SPEAKER_09\]: I was late in reading my DMs.
[1:21:40] \[SPEAKER_09\]: I'm over here at the Olympics in what not.
[1:21:42] \[SPEAKER_09\]: Sure, I'd love to do it.
[1:21:44] \[SPEAKER_09\]: All my so-called manager of 17 years.
[1:21:47] \[SPEAKER_09\]: All my said yes.
[1:21:48] \[SPEAKER_09\]: I haven't even called his punk ass.
[1:21:50] \[SPEAKER_09\]: Thank you, sir.
[1:21:52] \[SPEAKER_09\]: That is how I got him onto the show.
[1:21:54] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Perfection.
[1:21:55] \[SPEAKER_09\]: I'm so excited to talk about his punk ass.
[1:22:02] \[SPEAKER_09\]: It was meant to be.
[1:22:02] \[SPEAKER_09\]: It was, it was, that's amazing.
[1:22:05] \[SPEAKER_09\]: Yeah.
[1:22:06] \[SPEAKER_09\]: I love that.
[1:22:07] \[SPEAKER_09\]: How much of the wild, wild west rap do we all know?
[1:22:10] \[SPEAKER_09\]: We end on that.
[1:22:11] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Oh, let's get a whole thing.
[1:22:12] \[SPEAKER_08\]: How does the start?
[1:22:13] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I don't think we're allowed to.
[1:22:15] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Wow, it's wild.
[1:22:16] \[SPEAKER_08\]: We just fade out slowly.
[1:22:17] \[SPEAKER_08\]: It was a wild west.
[1:22:18] \[SPEAKER_08\]: That's where I don't know.
[1:22:19] \[SPEAKER_08\]: That's where I don't know.
[1:22:20] \[SPEAKER_08\]: That's where I don't know.
[1:22:20] \[SPEAKER_10\]: That's where I don't know.
[1:22:21] \[SPEAKER_10\]: That's where I don't know.
[1:22:22] \[SPEAKER_10\]: That's where I don't know.
[1:22:23] \[SPEAKER_10\]: That's where I don't know.
[1:22:23] \[SPEAKER_10\]: That's where I don't know.
[1:22:24] \[SPEAKER_10\]: That's where I don't know.
[1:22:25] \[SPEAKER_02\]: That's where I don't know.
[1:22:25] \[SPEAKER_02\]: That's where I don't know.
[1:22:26] \[SPEAKER_02\]: That's where I don't know.
[1:22:27] \[SPEAKER_10\]: That's where I don't know.
[1:22:27] \[SPEAKER_03\]: That's where I don't know.
[1:22:28] \[SPEAKER_03\]: That's where I don't know.
[1:22:28] \[SPEAKER_03\]: That's where I don
[1:22:29] \[SPEAKER_03\]: And he didn't have any dance, so that's indistress in the app.
[1:22:32] \[SPEAKER_02\]: That's right.
[1:22:33] \[SPEAKER_02\]: One submission.
[1:22:34] \[SPEAKER_02\]: West.
[1:22:35] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Right.
[1:22:36] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Check the law and check your halt.
[1:22:38] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah.
[1:22:38] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Go.
[1:22:38] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah.
[1:22:39] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Don't flex.
[1:22:40] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Get a hold of your side.
[1:22:42] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Don't let your lip react.
[1:22:43] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I don't want to see.
[1:22:44] \[SPEAKER_02\]: You don't want to see my hand.
[1:22:45] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Where my hand?
[1:22:46] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yeah.
[1:22:47] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Just see Artem now and then we get into the plot now.
[1:22:50] \[SPEAKER_03\]: We get into the plot from the start of now One of the game James West tape of the West tape of the West tape of the West So remember the name now who you gonna call not the gb's now who you gonna call and then what do they spell here because this is what I don't know

[1:23:04] \[SPEAKER_09\]: He's got it.
[1:23:05] \[SPEAKER_08\]: He's got it.
[1:23:06] \[SPEAKER_08\]: He's got it.
[1:23:07] \[SPEAKER_08\]: He's got it.
[1:23:09] \[SPEAKER_08\]: He's got it.

[1:23:22] \[SPEAKER_08\]: He's here.
[1:23:22] \[SPEAKER_08\]: He's down.
[1:23:23] \[SPEAKER_08\]: We got to get him.
[1:23:25] \[SPEAKER_09\]: He's a steam punk.
[1:23:26] \[SPEAKER_09\]: This is like this is a revolutionary movie.
[1:23:29] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Well, honestly, the movie is crazy, but it is actually really fun.
[1:23:34] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I recently pitched a rope on its fun into something that it did make sense based off of the source materials.
[1:23:42] \[SPEAKER_03\]: I was like, oh, we should do rope, but this rope, I mean, people aren't going to be, people aren't going to expect it.
[1:23:46] \[SPEAKER_03\]: We should do rope by source material, but then the person was like, no, that's a little too well.
[1:23:51] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Well, well, what?
[1:23:52] \[UNKNOWN\]: Damn.
[1:23:53] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Wait, wait.
[1:23:54] \[SPEAKER_02\]: James.
[1:23:54] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Is it?
[1:23:55] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Were you going to call?
[1:23:57] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Not the G.B.
[1:23:58] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Where are you going to call J.
[1:24:00] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Double?
[1:24:01] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Oh, wait, yes.
[1:24:02] \[SPEAKER_03\]: J.
[1:24:03] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Double.
[1:24:03] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Mm-hmm.
[1:24:04] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Yeah.
[1:24:05] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Why not do it?
[1:24:06] \[SPEAKER_03\]: Because what is J.
[1:24:07] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Why is it?
[1:24:08] \[SPEAKER_10\]: Wait, no, W. No, that's...
[1:24:10] \[SPEAKER_08\]: I'm sorry.

[1:24:13] \[SPEAKER_03\]: We should have done it.
[1:24:14] \[SPEAKER_03\]: What's funny about it is we could look it out.
[1:24:15] \[SPEAKER_03\]: We're on the screen right now.
[1:24:17] \[SPEAKER_03\]: We're on the screen right now.

[1:24:23] \[SPEAKER_09\]: That's the thing.
[1:24:24] \[SPEAKER_09\]: Like the song wasn't really neat.
[1:24:27] \[SPEAKER_03\]: But it's really funny, it's also not just him, it's all a deal, but what makes me laugh every time is look the divert best Andrew Hill does an ad lib at the end, like you get nothing in the whole song and not the end, he's just like straight to, like he's like, I'm on the track
[1:24:48] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It makes me laugh every time.
[1:24:52] \[SPEAKER_03\]: It's so funny.

[1:24:54] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Who don't want Cisco made everything better at one point, you know?
[1:24:57] \[SPEAKER_08\]: Yeah.
