## Transcript

[0:07] \[SPEAKER_02\]: We haven't gotten to talk about the Mandalorian because it's a TV show, right?
[0:11] \[SPEAKER_02\]: We haven't really talked about it on the spotcast.
[0:14] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We never talked about Baby Gogu.
[0:15] \[SPEAKER_00\]: What's the name?
[0:15] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Gogu.
[0:17] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Bro Gogu.
[0:20] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah.
[0:22] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I have questions about the Mandalorian.
[0:26] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, how do baby Yoda's work?
[0:29] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like how long he posted be a baby?
[0:31] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We don't know.
[0:31] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We don't know.
[0:32] \[SPEAKER_01\]: They haven't told us.
[0:34] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Okay, we don't know, but what we do know is that Yoda, when he died, was 900 years old?
[0:42] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, it was in the end of the 900's got it.
[0:45] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, got it.
[0:46] \[SPEAKER_02\]: So they they live for a very long time And I think grogrew is how old is grogrew like 80.
[0:54] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Oh 50.
[0:55] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah.
[0:56] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Oh, so he's basically a baby and and exactly in Yoda Yoda life Yeah, that's at least that's that's that's the end.
[1:03] \[SPEAKER_02\]: So I think you know he probably would stop being a baby around a 100 he'd be like a teen
[1:11] \[SPEAKER_01\]: maybe it's confusing because then how old exactly was Yoda if if 50 is still a baby and you're like in your 900's when your old guy in your old and you're a quote unquote old man are you old you know like how old are you well he died natural causes so he he must have been like we have to assume the life expectancy
[1:36] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Right, yeah.
[1:37] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But that's like, is he like nine years old?
[1:39] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Do you know what I'm saying?
[1:40] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Is he nine years old?
[1:41] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Was he, was he nine, Yoda years old when he passed?
[1:46] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That's the part I'm confused about.
[1:48] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, you're right, cause let's see.
[1:50] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Baby, yeah, it's really not that.
[1:53] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Baby time is quick, but he's talking.
[2:00] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I think he's talking.
[2:01] \[SPEAKER_02\]: To be fair, to be fair, we call him baby Yoda,
[2:05] \[SPEAKER_02\]: isn't actually a baby, not a baby, but he's calling them baby, but he's not a baby in like, he's not like this kind of like swaddling.
[2:18] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yes, not toddler, more like a particular baby.
[2:21] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, I think he's like, he just he's like, he's got that.
[2:32] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Wasn't he talking, wasn't he saying some stuff?
[2:35] \[SPEAKER_00\]: No, no, I guess he wasn't talking.
[2:36] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, I guess he's fairly talking.
[2:38] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And that is true, he's fairly talking.
[2:39] \[SPEAKER_02\]: He might, maybe they're just their speech, does it takes a while.
[2:43] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And also, he doesn't, he's not like, people aren't teaching him, like he's not in a school.
[2:53] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know what you're right.
[2:54] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We need to call someone need to call services because this little kid Neil and that felt like we keep watching him.
[3:00] \[SPEAKER_00\]: He's in danger situation.
[3:02] \[SPEAKER_00\]: She's been in some services.
[3:04] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I think we need to call somebody.
[3:07] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Well, no, I mean, they did actually talk about that.
[3:09] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That was a big part of I think the journey.
[3:11] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like it was like, does he go into Jedi training, which would have been more like class?
[3:17] \[SPEAKER_01\]: or does he continue to on the job training of of Mandalorian stuff right and that's kind of just that space CPS would be good.
[3:28] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, I mean, you need to call somebody because this little dude almost got eaten a couple times.
[3:31] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I think they even said he used the lowest person on the totem pole.
[3:34] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I was like, I need to get this little dude out of it.
[3:41] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Also good for Pedro.
[3:44] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah.
[3:45] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I mean, it's, I don't know how we got to talking about Brogu's age and biological lifespan, but I wanted to talk about this, the actual.
[3:58] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Bro, do you remember it?
[3:59] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I don't remember nothing about the show.
[4:01] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Oh, I remember it.
[4:02] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Well, I'm sorry, sorry.
[4:04] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I should say very well.
[4:05] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Thank you.
[4:05] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Thank you, James.
[4:06] \[SPEAKER_02\]: That's what I was going to say.
[4:07] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I remember seasons one and two.
[4:09] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Season three, I barely remember.
[4:11] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Which one is the most important?
[4:12] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And sometimes season two.
[4:16] \[SPEAKER_01\]: No, that's season three.
[4:18] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That is season three.
[4:20] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, at the very end of two, they see Luke.
[4:23] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Right.
[4:24] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, no, that's it.
[4:24] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That's right.
[4:25] \[SPEAKER_00\]: The finale.
[4:26] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That's what you meant.
[4:27] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, so the estimate.
[4:27] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That's what I meant.
[4:28] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah.
[4:28] \[SPEAKER_01\]: No, but then there's a, but then there are episodes.
[4:32] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Right.
[4:32] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And that's season three.
[4:34] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So I would as I assumed the Luke season was the one where.
[4:38] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Right.
[4:38] \[SPEAKER_02\]: There's like episodes and they're like dealing with, and you know, and you sort of see their back and forth that season that's either season three or the book above a fat, which I now genuinely don't know which one that's the other thing I was going to say is that the book above that it has half of that show is just the Mandalorian and maybe so man it's so man yeah it was like we don't need the book above that we just need the Mandalorian and Groguo
[5:08] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Interesting enough.
[5:09] \[SPEAKER_02\]: That is actually interesting.
[5:11] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Is that not what you did?
[5:16] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Was that that on purpose?
[5:16] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Did you not just singly enough?
[5:19] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It didn't realize.
[5:20] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But that actually was just... That was it.
[5:24] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Not exciting.
[5:26] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But successful, I would say.
[5:28] \[SPEAKER_02\]: You know what I mean?
[5:29] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Sometimes music.
[5:32] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah.
[5:32] \[SPEAKER_02\]: There we go.
[5:34] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Good enough.
[5:35] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Let's start the show.
[5:45] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I mean, can't jump.
[5:46] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know it's like that.
[5:47] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You know it's like that.
[5:48] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You know it's like that.
[5:49] \[UNKNOWN\]: You know it's like that.
[5:50] \[UNKNOWN\]: You know it's like that.
[5:51] \[UNKNOWN\]: You know it's like that.
[5:52] \[UNKNOWN\]: You know it's like that.
[5:53] \[UNKNOWN\]: You know it's like that.
[5:54] \[UNKNOWN\]: You know it's like that.
[5:55] \[SPEAKER_02\]: You know it's like that.
[5:57] \[SPEAKER_02\]: You know it's like that.
[5:58] \[SPEAKER_02\]: You know it's like that.
[5:58] \[SPEAKER_02\]: You know it's like that.
[6:00] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know it's like that.
[6:01] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know it's like that.
[6:04] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know it's like that.
[6:05] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know it's like that.
[6:06] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know it's like that.
[6:06] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know it's like that.
[6:07] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know it's like that.
[6:08] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know it's like that.
[6:08] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You know it's like that.
[6:09] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You know it's like that.
[6:10] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You know it's like that.
[6:13] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Who says is that one of the bubble freaks, I don't know what their species is called, but I don't know You know the famous one yeah exactly and the other thing about bubble freaks is I don't think it wasn't till this movie I Realize that they were actually speaking English just in a such a weird way.
[6:35] \[SPEAKER_02\]: You can only hear them every now and
[6:38] \[SPEAKER_01\]: They just be like, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah,
[7:08] \[SPEAKER_02\]: We review the films of leading black actors and actors of color, age of a cast, all right, page of, age of a, age of a, age of a, age of a cast.
[7:16] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Talk about them in the context of race and diversity in Hollywood.
[7:21] \[SPEAKER_02\]: There are three of us who host this podcast, the voice that you're listening to, now that would love to just spend just a whole day with some Bobo Freaks.
[7:32] \[SPEAKER_02\]: just chill just chill with the bobby freaks that's right now that's a ton of them bray like that's not their names there's definitely a real signature names that's name of one guy and he might not have even been there wait so what a thing about a bobby well and in a rise of skywalker
[7:50] \[SPEAKER_02\]: He was introduced, the character, that character who was an alien was introduced, and then they were like, actually, there are more of a guy.
[7:59] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, it's a whole race.
[8:00] \[SPEAKER_02\]: God.
[8:01] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But the one in Rise of Skywalker is his name is Babu freak.
[8:05] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And he would say his name, like Yoda would say his name.
[8:08] \[SPEAKER_00\]: He would just say Babu freak.
[8:09] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Maybe they Babu freak?
[8:20] \[SPEAKER_02\]: This is the people just saying to us, not to not necessarily a Star Wars fan.
[8:26] \[SPEAKER_00\]: This is my thing.
[8:29] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I think I've always wanted to be.
[8:31] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Sure.
[8:32] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I think I just miss the book.
[8:34] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I've really missed it.
[8:35] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Season one and two, I met it, Laurie.
[8:36] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And I was in like, I was, yeah, I mean, yeah.
[8:39] \[SPEAKER_00\]: This is it.
[8:40] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I get it.
[8:41] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And then.
[8:43] \[SPEAKER_00\]: the movies and, you know, Rogue one is good.
[8:46] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And the other show.
[8:46] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Oh, it's one is so good.
[8:48] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Rogue one and the end door.
[8:49] \[SPEAKER_02\]: You've been watching the end door.
[8:50] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, I finally started.
[8:51] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I finally started to close the home.
[8:54] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But it is to watch season two.
[8:56] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It takes me a while to watch.
[8:58] \[SPEAKER_02\]: They didn't even mean for it to be such a, like commentary on what's happening now.
[9:06] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I don't think so.
[9:07] \[SPEAKER_02\]: They're just kind of, and then we were like, we, I think I read that they were like, yeah, we were just doing like what,
[9:13] \[SPEAKER_02\]: You know, these kind of dictator, you know, the tallitarian governments do, and that just happens to be what a Mark government now.
[9:24] \[SPEAKER_00\]: God, that's crazy, bro.
[9:27] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Anyway, but, you know what, we're not talking about Andrew, we're talking about the Mandalorian and Grogoo.
[9:34] \[SPEAKER_02\]: This movie came out this year and may I believe
[9:40] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Uh, yes.
[9:42] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Right?
[9:42] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, I think you're right.
[9:45] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Uh, you guys want to guess what the, uh, brought in, uh, made on scores?
[9:52] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Wait, I wanted to ask.
[9:53] \[SPEAKER_00\]: This is, this is the movie that came out as obsession was blowing up, right?
[9:59] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like, this is the,
[10:01] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I don't know how long, I mean, if Session was in TV a long, yeah.
[10:06] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Session was embarrassing a lot of films, but yes, I think that's true.
[10:10] \[SPEAKER_00\]: James, you go first.
[10:11] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I have, well, I mean, I'm notoriously bad at this.
[10:14] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'm going to say, I'm going to say it has
[10:21] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I'm going for critics for critics.
[10:24] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, for critics.
[10:25] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Okay, 24.
[10:26] \[SPEAKER_02\]: That's low, man.
[10:27] \[SPEAKER_02\]: That's really low.
[10:28] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I was it as audience.
[10:29] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I was it as audience, but I will go with for critics.
[10:32] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Just critics.
[10:34] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I feel like people try to support Star Wars when they can.
[10:36] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm gonna go from 57.
[10:41] \[SPEAKER_01\]: draw was so close.
[10:42] \[SPEAKER_02\]: We had actually hit.
[10:44] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It is always this way.
[10:45] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It hit 60%.
[10:47] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It did.
[10:48] \[SPEAKER_02\]: No way.
[10:49] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Just sneak down a fresh tomato score.
[10:53] \[SPEAKER_01\]: 60%.
[10:53] \[SPEAKER_01\]: 60%.
[10:53] \[SPEAKER_01\]: 60% of reviewers and positive about this.
[10:57] \[SPEAKER_02\]: To be clear, there's 330 critic reviews, which is insane.
[11:03] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I don't even think there really are 330.
[11:07] \[SPEAKER_02\]: professional critics.
[11:09] \[SPEAKER_02\]: They're obviously counting podcasts and stuff, but like, we get a vote?
[11:13] \[SPEAKER_02\]: 330 a lot.
[11:14] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We should get a vote.
[11:15] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We just have a good idea.
[11:16] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I think it's a theory.
[11:18] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Two way off on audiences, audience like this, it was 86% popcorn meter.
[11:24] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Well, no way.
[11:24] \[SPEAKER_01\]: What do you think?
[11:26] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Well, I'm confused.
[11:27] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Why didn't make any money?
[11:29] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Well, just remember that's just by the people who saw it
[11:36] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And remember, Rotten Tomatoes only basically says, oh, did you think it was, like, if you thought it wasn't horrible, like if everybody rated it three out of five stars, it would have a hundred percent in Rotten Tomatoes.
[11:52] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Right, right.
[11:54] \[SPEAKER_02\]: So I do think this movie is inexpensive and therefore
[12:01] \[SPEAKER_02\]: That, to me, 60% feels pretty on point to me.
[12:08] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But let's get into it.
[12:10] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It stars a picture of Pascal as we said.
[12:13] \[SPEAKER_02\]: The box office was mid.
[12:14] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Right.
[12:14] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I don't want you to see.
[12:15] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, it wasn't great.
[12:17] \[SPEAKER_01\]: 345 million worldwide.
[12:19] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So, okay.
[12:21] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, I know.
[12:22] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And the budget was what the, like it didn't make its money, but what was the budget?
[12:26] \[SPEAKER_02\]: According to Wikipedia,
[12:31] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Uh-huh, it just, it, you know, it's like, squeak, bye, bro, definitely broke even, maybe it'll, yeah, tiny, tiny bit of money after that.
[12:41] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Because I, I would imagine, it's about 150.
[12:43] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Brad.
[12:44] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah.
[12:47] \[SPEAKER_02\]: So, yeah, no, I think, remember, people are judging this on a curve, right?
[12:54] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I'm a star wars.
[12:56] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Star wars.
[12:57] \[SPEAKER_02\]: You know, star wars should be grossing a billion.
[13:00] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Really?
[13:01] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'm gonna say this right now and this is boiler if you haven't seen it yet.
[13:05] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I can't believe Sagorni weaver in an X-wing didn't cross a billion dollars.
[13:10] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We get Sagorni weaver in an X-wing.
[13:13] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I mean does she fly ever?
[13:14] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yes.
[13:14] \[SPEAKER_00\]: She didn't know many of us.
[13:16] \[SPEAKER_00\]: She didn't know many of us.
[13:17] \[SPEAKER_00\]: She didn't know many of us.
[13:17] \[SPEAKER_00\]: She didn't know many of us.
[13:19] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We see her suit up.
[13:19] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That's awesome.
[13:20] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We see her suit.
[13:20] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We see her suit.
[13:21] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We see her suit.
[13:21] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We see her suit.
[13:21] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We see her suit.
[13:22] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We see her suit.
[13:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We see her suit.
[13:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We see her suit.
[13:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We see her suit.
[13:24] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We see her suit.
[13:24] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We see her suit.
[13:25] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We see her suit.
[13:26] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But that's what I'm saying.
[13:27] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It was literally like the point was like the point was like, and I and you're not going to believe this Look who's the first pilot.
[13:36] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We're going to see in the X-ray.
[13:37] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like it was it was deliberate that there was no buildup It was like look who it was like it was like it was supposed to be all of the audience cheering and screaming Sure for the for the surprise appearance of her in the next week
[13:54] \[SPEAKER_01\]: The problem hit, well, sorry, and it's what I thought.
[13:58] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That's all, yeah.
[14:00] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Right, I'll start, I might as well start.
[14:02] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I really like the Mandalorian television program conceit and I was, you know, like we've sort of said so far, been very on board for the beginnings of it.
[14:14] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And then as it sort of started to get bogged down by the broader star wars of it all, I felt like that kind of got in the way of the of it.
[14:23] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And this movie is representative of like, I think some of the best things about Mandalorian and some of it's like biggest shortcomings, which is like if you if like it's so cool to just see my man out on missions and and going up against random monsters and, you know,
[14:53] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Any time they tried to be like, and also, you're never going to believe this.
[15:00] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But Luke Skywalker's here, or you're never going to believe this.
[15:02] \[SPEAKER_01\]: A soak-a, just walked around the corner.
[15:04] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You know, like, whenever they were like, trying to like, tee up like how it connects to broader Star Wars, that to me was always where it was most.
[15:15] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I don't know, it was sort of like, I just want to see a hired gun going around and like in action.
[15:22] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I don't really care about the cuts.
[15:24] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I don't really care about, you know, or what, or what have you.
[15:27] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So you're saying, you don't care about the lore and the fanfare and that's I mean, I care about I care, I care, I liked like when it was like,
[15:37] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Here's a like discarded faction of Mandalorians and we've sort of hobbled to get like I liked that stuff in season two that was interesting, but I don't I don't care about Like like it seems like the huts are in this
[15:52] \[SPEAKER_01\]: and this is a movie so that it can be like, see, it does connect to broader Star Wars.
[15:56] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You know, like, that's why they make, they make the hands, the main antagonists to try to make this mean more than it actually does, but it's just like, you know, Mandalorian Greg, Grogo doing shit, you know?
[16:07] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So, I don't know, I had a lot of fun when I was locked in, but I had to keep, I had to rewind, I had to, like, it was like tough to get through the movie.
[16:18] \[SPEAKER_01\]: As someone who's even a fan of those things that I just said and like and when I was locked in and when I was paying attention I was like, yeah, there's so much stuff about this that is fun, but it wasn't holding me when I was watching here Yeah, thank you, don't you want to go to room?
[16:32] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, I go uh uh it's funny enough I started watching this movie on the plane and made it halfway through and was like, I'm good Jesus Couldn't even watch out the plane.
[16:45] \[SPEAKER_02\]: That's bad, but I
[16:47] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's a bad part of the style of the plan that they're seeing where he gets like captured or whatever.
[16:53] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And I will say this to James's point.
[16:55] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I think there are a lot of fun moments that happen in this movie.
[16:58] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I also can tell that John Favreau was making a season of television.
[17:02] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like I think it's come out that he got forced into making this into a movie.
[17:06] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Everything about this feels like sequences from a TV show where like it just
[17:11] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like, when it ended, I was like, oh, yeah, it just ended.
[17:14] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like, yeah, it didn't such a way that I was like, is that it?
[17:17] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I think I always was like, does it?
[17:19] \[SPEAKER_00\]: The opening, I thought was fantastic.
[17:20] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Cause I was like, I've come on.
[17:22] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Cause it's, and I know it's been what three years or so since this show, the last season.
[17:28] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And I'm like, oh, I forgot that like, he is a badass, you know what I mean?
[17:33] \[SPEAKER_00\]: He could like, this opening is just, my man is just a one man army, just.
[17:39] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like, we could see him beat everything with all Boba Fett was going to be just a bounty hunter.
[17:42] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I think I was expecting for the movie for Grogo to like.
[17:49] \[SPEAKER_00\]: his powers to be up a level a little bit like a I guess it kind of was but I feel like scaling of his powers on the show and in his movies the same like on the show he stopped like a big robot at one point and I was like oh my man this leveling but in this one he was struggling to do certain things and then he I don't know I felt like I wanted to see the evolution it's almost like we did a fresh hour
[18:10] \[SPEAKER_00\]: and rush hour two, all of a sudden, Chris Tucker knows a little bit of martial arts like he's not good, but clearly he's been around.
[18:16] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Jackie Chan, so he has to have learned something and I'm like, has my man not picked up on any skills at any point?
[18:22] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Cause right now, he just,
[18:25] \[SPEAKER_00\]: He's just not good for business.
[18:26] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah.
[18:27] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I mean, and even to that point, like, to the broader lore of the, or to the, to the story of the show, there was that push and pull of, like, Mandalorian versus Jedi.
[18:36] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And they could have even brought into it, like, him being under him not being as full powers as he could, as he could be, could have been part of the narrative of this movie, like, you aren't learning the Jedi stuff that you could be learning over there, but they don't even do that.
[18:49] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That just,
[18:50] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I mean, he's like learning the Mandalorian aspects of it all either.
[18:52] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like if he did, if he had little guns or some, you know, or whatever for him, also I think the thing that hurts about this would be two is that we don't have like a true, I know that the huts are the bad guys, but like,
[19:06] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I feel like we needed a bag at like I think we needed somebody like the other bounty hunter was kind of it But like we didn't see him stalk him enough to build in your history like you needed to be personal Yeah, it's a pointy.
[19:16] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We've a little bored bro.
[19:17] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like everything she just looked so bored Yeah, and the fact that Pedro had to take us to helmet off.
[19:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I was like this is to prove he's in this movie.
[19:26] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, that was it.
[19:27] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It's a prove he's in it.
[19:28] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, yeah.
[19:29] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's just it felt fine.
[19:31] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It felt like
[19:32] \[SPEAKER_00\]: a meal you eat because you're hungry, not because you want to eat it, you know?
[19:37] \[SPEAKER_00\]: This is kind of for food.
[19:38] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, so I get that.
[19:40] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, so look, did I like the movie?
[19:42] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, I, look, I saw it in theaters.
[19:45] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I saw it in your heart.
[19:46] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I saw it in theaters like, oh, like probably one of the last weekends it was there.
[19:51] \[SPEAKER_02\]: So like there's barely anybody in the theater, but I was kind of like, I want to see this in theaters like, I know this is probably gonna feel like a TV show,
[20:01] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Let me at least experience the because I wanted to feel like okay like this feels cool and that opening scene and there are certain fight scenes that felt.
[20:13] \[SPEAKER_02\]: really cool and like it was like great.
[20:15] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I'm glad I'm seeing this in theaters.
[20:17] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Ultimately, this is 100% a TV show with episodes strung together to like pretend to be a movie, but it's not a movie.
[20:26] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I think that's the main problem with it.
[20:28] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It's just not a movie.
[20:29] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It's like to your point about the bad, main bad guys.
[20:33] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Of course, it's not a main bad guy because like,
[20:35] \[SPEAKER_02\]: in like a TV show and especially like a TV show like the Mandalorian where it's a little bit more like adventure of the week right like I guess season two was a little different but like season one specifically was adventure of the week right and so there's a different bad guy and there's like kind of an overarching bad guy in the huts you know that they make it appear into the beginning of your life well they're probably going to be bad because they're the huts um and it's like yep
[20:59] \[SPEAKER_02\]: They are, you know, and then we have like, okay, the bad guy right now is, you know, John who with the bad guy right now is this other bounty hunter, you know, whatever, great, so it's like fun, because there's like good action like.
[21:15] \[SPEAKER_02\]: character of the Mandalorian is just like kind of is a really cool character, Grogo is really cute, Babu Freaks are also fun, you know, like they have fun little aliens or whatever, they came up with some fun like fight scenes, but like ultimately at the end of the movie, I kind of was just like,
[21:38] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, there's like not a lot of it's like weird.
[21:40] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It's like there's doesn't feel like there's much tension.
[21:42] \[SPEAKER_02\]: You kind of like, and it's crazy because it's like, yes, like in all movies, kind of know that the good guys gonna, well, for most movies, like especially Marvel movies or whatever superhero stuff, like you know the good guys gonna win and they're gonna figure it out.
[21:56] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But like, there's, I don't know, sometimes movies just do a better job at like making you actually doubt or like not know like, oh, what's gonna happen?
[22:04] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And this movie just felt like, yeah, he's gonna figure it out
[22:08] \[SPEAKER_02\]: when, you know, like every time, like they got captured or whatever, I was just like, yeah, it's just like, you know, oh, like, what's gonna happen next week, but next week is the same movie.
[22:19] \[SPEAKER_02\]: That being said, it's, yeah, that's how I felt.
[22:22] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I felt like this movie, this movie to me is like a bowl of Cheerios.
[22:31] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Say more, like not even frosty flakes, not frosty flakes.
[22:39] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Wait, hold on, I shouldn't say Cheerios.
[22:41] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Cause Cheerios, wait, are Cheerios actually healthy?
[22:43] \[SPEAKER_02\]: No, I think they're not healthy.
[22:45] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It's a lie.
[22:46] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It's a lie.
[22:46] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And that's the thing.
[22:49] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It's like, you're just eating something.
[22:51] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And you're right, you're not, it's not like, it's not like, oh, this is gross.
[22:55] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But it's not like super enjoyable.
[22:57] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But you're like, I'll have it.
[23:00] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Honey and Cheerios, maybe.
[23:02] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I mean, you're eating, you're not, you're not starved, you know?
[23:05] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah.
[23:06] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That's what this movie was just getting into it.
[23:08] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's interesting because basically this movie reminded me of when Spider-Man no one, no way home came out.
[23:14] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We're about the same time.
[23:15] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And I was like, oh, I don't remember what happened to Spider-Man.
[23:17] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Spider-Man luckily gave me like a recap where this movie, I have no idea what happened this season three or what happened with Mando during, was he in Boba Fett, right?
[23:27] \[SPEAKER_01\]: He was in Boba Fett.
[23:29] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yes, I had no idea where we left off and then it just started and it just felt like a new season.
[23:33] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like there was no, you know, also, you know, like what something goes from a TV show to a movie like stuff gets upgraded, like the costume is a little bit better or like, you know, someone's got a new power technically got a new ship, but it's like the same shit.
[23:47] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Oh, right.
[23:48] \[SPEAKER_02\]: No, it's like another scene.
[23:49] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It doesn't really feel like a new ship.
[23:51] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah.
[23:51] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah.
[23:52] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And I was like, so we just did the same.
[23:57] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Oh, like all right, but it was a return to the ship his season one ship though, right?
[24:01] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like we had a scene that ship yeah, and for you guys to remember that, I didn't.
[24:07] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Oh, you didn't remember that was a ship.
[24:09] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Oh, because the show came.
[24:11] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It was shows on a 2022.
[24:13] \[SPEAKER_00\]: This 26.
[24:15] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I think maybe.
[24:15] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That was season 19 with season.
[24:18] \[SPEAKER_01\]: The season.
[24:19] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, season one was 2019.
[24:20] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So I don't remember.
[24:21] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You don't remember that.
[24:21] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah.
[24:22] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That's when he had because he had the Naboo ship.
[24:26] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I feel like season one, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the
[24:53] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Is it, uh, but also so is a homo, I'm a dollar, I'm a dollar.
[24:57] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, they're both, they're both from the boo.
[24:59] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yes.
[25:00] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Jar Jar Binks and Queen, I'm a dollar are both from the boo.
[25:04] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Correct.
[25:08] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Okay.
[25:10] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Anyway, what do we, what do we, what do we talk about?
[25:12] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We could just go through the movie.
[25:14] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Okay.
[25:15] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Okay.
[25:15] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Let's, yeah.
[25:17] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, well, we've mentioned it a couple of times, but this opening scene is great.
[25:21] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It's like some guy being like, oh, you guys have to pay me more for my protection.
[25:29] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And even though his protection sucks.
[25:30] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And then he's like, and then all of a sudden, they're like, oh, something's going wrong.
[25:34] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It's very reminiscent of a of a Phantom Menace, actually.
[25:38] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Oh, yeah, true.
[25:40] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Right.
[25:41] \[SPEAKER_02\]: When they're just like, when the Jedi is coming, they're like, the Jedi is on the ship.
[25:46] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, very true.
[25:50] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Very true.
[25:51] \[SPEAKER_02\]: He's just taking them all out.
[25:53] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Um, very cool.
[25:54] \[SPEAKER_02\]: The, I mean, the coolest thing is him bro.
[25:57] \[SPEAKER_02\]: He was killing shooting the fire.
[26:03] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You know, he had no, he was showing no, he didn't care.
[26:07] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Everybody in the thing is he.
[26:08] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Is it because they're aliens that he was able to kill so many people because it was aliens and droids because he was just murking people bro, and I was like, this is a pretty valuable Well, he's he's a violent guy.
[26:19] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That's for kids He's killed a lot, but I'm saying it's like PG-13.
[26:24] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Oh, yeah, it's because yeah, like why are they accepting it?
[26:27] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, it's because laser death.
[26:28] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, laser death violence is considered okay.
[26:31] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, because it's not like you don't see the blood.
[26:35] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah
[26:37] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I mean, that's also fine.
[26:38] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Groku hopped out of the fire.
[26:40] \[SPEAKER_01\]: When Groku hopped out, I was laughing so hard.
[26:45] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I thought all of Groku's stuff in this opening sequence was so funny to me.
[26:50] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Listen, that little doll is cute as hell.
[26:52] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I love that you can tell as a puppet.
[26:54] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yes.
[26:54] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It was a lot of puppets in this.
[26:56] \[SPEAKER_00\]: A lot of puppets and claymation.
[26:57] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And I was like, good for you guys for going back to basics.
[27:00] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Absolutely.
[27:01] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, because it was like pretty cool.
[27:02] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I was like, oh, I can tell you guys are trying to enhance things with CG until it got to those robots in the middle that he had to fight.
[27:09] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah.
[27:09] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Can I ask you, I won't question because I I know job job at a hut is like considered one of the big bad guys, right?
[27:16] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like he's a of return to the Jedi.
[27:21] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yes, yes.
[27:21] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So job at a hut, I'm assuming he's like the guy father, whatever.
[27:25] \[SPEAKER_00\]: but I've never saw him move, and I think that's because I guess he was a puppet who couldn't.
[27:29] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But in this movie, watching the huts, which are like slugs.
[27:33] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Slugs, yeah.
[27:34] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like gigantic slugs.
[27:36] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Watching a jacked slugs.
[27:38] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Well, okay.
[27:39] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I mean, I guess we'll just get into this.
[27:41] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like we can just get into this now.
[27:43] \[SPEAKER_01\]: The way that I appreciated this, oh my, we have an issue with this.
[27:46] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We had an issue with the jacked, okay, great.
[27:48] \[SPEAKER_02\]: So we have two different opinions.
[27:50] \[SPEAKER_02\]: The James appreciated it.
[27:53] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I hate it.
[27:55] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I hate it.
[27:55] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah.
[27:57] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I hate it and everything about this.
[27:59] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, not just the fact that it's a jacked hut.
[28:02] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I thought Jeremy Allen, white, he played this character.
[28:06] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, I thought he was horrendous like it was I in my opinion some of the worst voice over acting.
[28:13] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I've ever heard like it's And I understand it's not fully his fault.
[28:18] \[SPEAKER_02\]: They were adding some weird sound thing to make him sound deeper and cooler than he is, I guess, but I just was like did like Again, one of the cool things about job with that
[28:30] \[SPEAKER_02\]: is that he doesn't speak English.
[28:31] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And he's just like, who's all born?
[28:33] \[SPEAKER_02\]: He did, blah, blah, blah.
[28:34] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, no.
[28:35] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And then they're like, okay, well, we don't want that for a whole character to just constantly, we not be talk, I guess, even though R2D2, whatever.
[28:43] \[SPEAKER_02\]: They're like, we don't want this guy to like not be talking in a language people can understand.
[28:48] \[SPEAKER_02\]: So I guess we'll,
[28:51] \[SPEAKER_02\]: have him just speaking English, but it just sounded terrible.
[28:55] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It was like that jet guy has that voice?
[28:57] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, I had an issue with the general characterization of the huts, like all of their voice, all of their voices were strange.
[29:10] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like didn't feel like they were coming from
[29:14] \[SPEAKER_01\]: uh, the thing that was talking, you know, but I did like jack-tut jack-tut wrestling, the like roll moves and all the different, I thought that that stuff was was fun, but I agree that like it, it's there's like a weird
[29:29] \[SPEAKER_01\]: the voice is strange and like there's like a weird disconnect.
[29:33] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like you don't you don't feel like you can get close to to to to rot to rotty.
[29:37] \[SPEAKER_01\]: What's his name?
[29:39] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah.
[29:39] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Well, I think it's why they get Jeremy on the white anyway.
[29:43] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like no.
[29:44] \[SPEAKER_02\]: If you're going to, if you're going to, if you're going to, if you're going to, says he's in this movie.
[29:48] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Another another.
[29:49] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Oh, he was the annoying cook guy who was like, oh, he was like, oh, it was that.
[30:00] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Really?
[30:00] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah.
[30:02] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Listen, like the that part is even weirder.
[30:06] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I will say like the job but I think I-
[30:09] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Now annoying and new you to a work more in animation than I have, but I have now gotten to know like voice actors and And realized that that is such an extremely Talented bunch of people and to see like you probably get it just has someone who would have just thrown their voice or who would have created a voice To do this gigantic cut that you didn't need to get Jeremy on the way if you're not going to like if it has no facial structure to him If it's not him and most someone with an actual deep voice like there are people
[30:37] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, like it makes no sense.
[30:39] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Also, I'm not gonna lie to you, man.
[30:41] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Watching that gigantic shredded worm.
[30:46] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Fight the other fat worms.
[30:49] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I don't know why I was like, bro, you post a handle them real quick.
[30:51] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like, we've, we've seen, yeah, a hundred percent.
[30:54] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You'd be a gladiator and you're getting a handle by these two who don't move stuff.
[30:58] \[SPEAKER_02\]: You're a correct, sure, because, okay, famously Jab of the Hut could not move.
[31:03] \[SPEAKER_02\]: You just like, uh, he's just like this fat gangster Lord, who like,
[31:08] \[SPEAKER_02\]: it is like beating or whatever and like has everybody do business for him because he's like a gangster he pays people it's like it's like the godfather it's not like we don't see freaking marlin brando like beating people with a with a yeah right so like if you're going to be like oh there's one of these that are jack because he like grew up in the like he got he had a runaway
[31:37] \[SPEAKER_02\]: you know, become some fighter over here, like, okay, fine.
[31:40] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I'll, like, I can at least buy that.
[31:43] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But then don't tell me that these other two job is can also, these other two huts can also fight, like, what the heck?
[31:48] \[SPEAKER_02\]: All the huts can fight now, like, what's going on?
[31:50] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Literally.
[31:51] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But it makes no sense.
[31:52] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Also, I'm not gonna lie to you.
[31:53] \[SPEAKER_00\]: This third act.
[31:55] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Pro.
[31:56] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I didn't realize we were truly in the third act because I thought something else was going to happen.
[31:59] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I was like, okay, he's going to defeat the hurt and they were going to go on to the thing.
[32:03] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like, I don't know.
[32:06] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I thought like something else was going to happen.
[32:07] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I was like, oh, cool.
[32:09] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We're going to handle this because basically, wow.
[32:13] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Wow, the shredded hut is fighting the other huts.
[32:16] \[SPEAKER_00\]: He's fighting the bounty hunter, which is cool.
[32:19] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But I'm like, he's clearly not fighting the big bat.
[32:21] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So something's coming.
[32:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like I was like, I thought, um, Gus, I thought Gus was going to come back and like, yeah, Darth Vader suit and start fucking up shit.
[32:30] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know what I mean?
[32:30] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That's not what you have.
[32:31] \[SPEAKER_01\]: They should have done that.
[32:33] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I mean, that's, it also doesn't he have like, not a light saber, but doesn't he have like a pole now that can like take one of light saber from one of those shows?
[32:42] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Uh, I can't remember if he still has that spear or or yes, he had like the spear that can fight a light saber and I'm like so why he Oh, where is what what happens that he might have lost it in season three if they didn't show it at all in this move, you know, but I don't remember Yeah, I mean, I don't know.
[33:01] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I felt like we didn't learn anything new about the Mandalorian.
[33:04] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We didn't see someone coming to give me Here's my pitch
[33:08] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Give me Mandalorian with Avengers.
[33:12] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Okay, you just you just do die hard bring somebody back that we have never seen from one of the random for the random people he killed off.
[33:20] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Someone has been plotting against him and is now coming after him and all his fucking Mandalorian friends and someone gets low-girl-goo.
[33:29] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Girl-cook got it like upgrade his powers.
[33:32] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know, and now Mandel got to do some shit he's never done before.
[33:35] \[SPEAKER_00\]: As for help, I figure it out.
[33:38] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Give me the shot of Mando will have his like suit broken off of him because like he's been in it okay we don't need to see his face but his arm pass a gun the cape is gone he ain't got the gun you know what I'm saying rock it launcher broke it give me that we just needed a we needed a there there is no real um like what would you say is the emotional story line of this film
[34:09] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It's like, uh, uh, him deciding whether or not he's going to really be in the alliance.
[34:14] \[SPEAKER_01\]: If it was the father son, um, you know, he won't always be around, um, the parent thing is what it felt like was the, you know, because he, he, they had that.
[34:34] \[SPEAKER_00\]: No, it's fine.
[34:34] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like if like they didn't talk about it, I feel like that moment didn't happen until the like when he was saved and he goes the old security young and the young take care of him.
[34:44] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I think that was the end of the point of it.
[34:46] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That was the button of it.
[34:47] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Oh, he said it before.
[34:48] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Okay.
[34:49] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That was the button of that of that of that arc.
[34:52] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Which to me was like the biggest kind of kind of thing, at least between the two of them.
[34:58] \[SPEAKER_02\]: My thing though is like it wasn't set up.
[35:00] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It wasn't like in this beginning of this movie.
[35:04] \[SPEAKER_02\]: he saw that grogu had like, he had like put grogu somewhere and then grogu was like, he's like, what are you doing?
[35:10] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, don't like, this is too dangerous.
[35:13] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I told you, you had to stay in the ship or, you know, after the scene with Sir Goini Weave, this is when I felt like it started because I don't think it actually happened in that scene.
[35:22] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But after that scene with Sir Goini Weave, or he goes,
[35:25] \[SPEAKER_01\]: really got hairy out there and we kind of sit on that and I was like what's that about and then that that narrative kind of started.
[35:32] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So it's like it's like it happens maybe 15 minutes into the movie, but that's when I think the seeds were dropped and then it and then it lasts through to the old will will will will whatever.
[35:45] \[SPEAKER_02\]: You know, but that's and that was the and that you're talking about that's after they they saved the hut.
[35:52] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Is that after they saved the hunt?
[35:54] \[SPEAKER_01\]: No, I think it is.
[35:55] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, that is, potentially after they saved the hunt.
[35:58] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We just don't know.
[36:00] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That moment is when he almost dies, so like, oh, wait, no, you're right.
[36:04] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So where is the hunt at that point?
[36:06] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I was thinking, when I was talking about it, I thought it was right before they went to get the hunt.
[36:10] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But no, you're right, I think it is after the hunt.
[36:14] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So it's, yeah, I don't know, maybe a 20 minutes sequence in the movie.
[36:18] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So where's the hunt when all that happens?
[36:23] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And that's like an hour, that's like an hour into the movie.
[36:26] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah.
[36:27] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But if that's the case, the HUD is there.
[36:29] \[SPEAKER_00\]: How can we grow Google trying to like move them and stuff itself?
[36:32] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like the HUD just vanishes.
[36:34] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, well, remember he said he was going to go disappear.
[36:37] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like he was like, he was like, like, don't send me back to them.
[36:41] \[SPEAKER_02\]: They're going to kill me.
[36:43] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like guy, they got it, got it, got it, got it, got it.
[36:45] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, they went through this whole thing where they had a fee, they were in that battle.
[36:50] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, what do you guys think about the little gladiator pit?
[36:54] \[SPEAKER_01\]: The kind of live action, Hollow Chess stuff was cool.
[36:57] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I thought it was cool that they did it, but then again, this was also like, this is meaningless to me.
[37:04] \[SPEAKER_02\]: You know, like it was just fine random monsters.
[37:07] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It was fan service of like, remember that, remember that Hollow Chess game?
[37:12] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Well, look at this, it's now real, you're now seeing actual people fighting on a similar,
[37:19] \[SPEAKER_02\]: field, you know, like, you're out of to know what you're talking about.
[37:24] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And in the first Star Wars movie, and then I think we may be just like the chest thing and the end.
[37:31] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So then this sequence is like we're seeing the pieces.
[37:37] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know, you know, we're so interested is I'm a person I do love when Easter eggs hit, and I guess maybe because I'm not.
[37:44] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But I guess I have seen almost every Star Wars thing, right?
[37:47] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I don't know why everything in this film so like, uh, hollow.
[37:52] \[SPEAKER_00\]: There was no emotional storyline.
[37:54] \[SPEAKER_01\]: There was a, yeah, it was just fan circumstances.
[37:56] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It was just like, look, we're now on the live action chessboard.
[37:59] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like, that's all it was.
[38:02] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, okay.
[38:04] \[SPEAKER_02\]: So in a, in, in like a regular movie, you have like,
[38:10] \[SPEAKER_02\]: You know, your protagonist starts out status quo.
[38:14] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And then there's like a call to action.
[38:15] \[SPEAKER_02\]: They're like, okay, you gotta go do something.
[38:17] \[SPEAKER_02\]: That's gonna change.
[38:18] \[SPEAKER_02\]: There is not, like we don't really have like that, I guess for this movie is supposed to be them being like, hey, here's your next mission.
[38:26] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Your next mission is to find this guy.
[38:29] \[SPEAKER_02\]: We don't know who he is.
[38:30] \[SPEAKER_02\]: He's an arms dealer.
[38:31] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And then the first step to finding who this guy is is you gotta go work for the huts and save their nephew who is on this planet.
[38:41] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And they're like, that's all you got to go on.
[38:43] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And he's like, okay, and then he go meets the huts and the huts are like, yeah, go save our nephew.
[38:48] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Thanks for working for us.
[38:49] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And he's like, I don't know work for you.
[38:51] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And you're like, okay, is this what it's about?
[38:53] \[SPEAKER_02\]: But no.
[38:58] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And then like the other guy and then he finds that guy, he doesn't realize that it's that guy, but he finds Johnny and John who's like, hey, why don't you work for me?
[39:08] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And he's like, I don't know, I feel like the like who are you going to work for is kind of like part of the main story lines because he's like, yeah, for sure.
[39:16] \[SPEAKER_02\]: He's he's like kind of working for the rebellion and they're like, well, I forgot what they're sorry.
[39:20] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It's called the resistance in the horse of Waken trilogy.
[39:25] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Right.
[39:25] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, that new new republic, the new republic.
[39:28] \[SPEAKER_02\]: He's kind of working for the new republic and the new republic is like.
[39:32] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It, you know, represented by security weavers, uh, hey, or sorry, that's great.
[39:38] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yes, great.
[39:39] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Oh, you're not, uh, you're not doing this the right way, you know, and but we don't really, it's like it's, it's so light.
[39:48] \[SPEAKER_02\]: like his like killing people, you know, instead of asking questions or whatever, and he's kind of just like, and we don't really know why he's doing it other than he thinks it's right kind of, like we're missing this, to me one of the main the interesting things about the Mandalorian character is that they set up from the show was like, he's not,
[40:14] \[SPEAKER_02\]: He's like barely a mandalorian and when in season two when we meet other mandaloyens, they're kind of like, oh,
[40:25] \[SPEAKER_02\]: You know, you haven't fully respected our ways.
[40:28] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like he takes his helmet off at different times, whatever, like they're like, they don't fully accept them.
[40:33] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And so he's kind of a complete loner.
[40:36] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And so he's teeming up with this other preacher, Grogu, who's also a complete loner.
[40:41] \[SPEAKER_02\]: He has no one, like both of them have no one.
[40:43] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And that's why it's like this beautiful friendship slash paternal kind of relationship he has with Grogu.
[40:51] \[SPEAKER_02\]: but they didn't play on any of those elements to me in this movie.
[40:58] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, you know what I mean?
[40:59] \[SPEAKER_02\]: There wasn't like an emphasis on your loner or whatever.
[41:03] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I think you need it one or two things.
[41:05] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You need to need it like, again, someone from someone's past to come back or to show that they're a billion.
[41:12] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like he messed up, like say, say, Brogu and Mandoe kill an innocent person or somebody that they really need it and like because they did this, it threw everything off.
[41:22] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So now like no one trusts him, even.
[41:25] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like he had nothing to,
[41:28] \[SPEAKER_00\]: like he didn't need to get better, he didn't need to learn trust, he didn't need to do anything, he needed to just continue as a status quo, and so to grow goo.
[41:35] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And to me, I don't even think he had the emotional art.
[41:38] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I think the emotional art came from Buff.
[41:41] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Buff Hut, because the Buff Hut was the one was like, I don't want to be like my dad.
[41:45] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I want to do this.
[41:45] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Buff Hut goes from like fighting in a cage fight at the end of the movie being like, hey, you know what?
[41:52] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I think I'm going to stay here and be a part of the rebellion to help out.
[41:54] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like, that's the guy who did something.
[41:57] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That's true.
[41:58] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Man, no, it didn't change in any way, shape or form, like.
[42:02] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And he wasn't really struggling with anything.
[42:05] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Not as he just was going from set piece of set piece, I will say, even from watching at that home one of TV, that gigantic snake thing he had to fight, the shot of like him standing with that thing.
[42:18] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Recorially, I was like, that's a, that had to look good at the other.
[42:21] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So that's a pretty cool school.
[42:24] \[SPEAKER_02\]: That was a pretty calm reminiscing of the, I'm forgetting the name of the creature from return to the Jedi geek, I'm thinking with an R. James, what is it?
[42:36] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I don't, the thing that it fights in return is Jedi, the snake, but no, the thing that, the big, yeah, that Luke fights, the big monster.
[42:45] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That Luke fights something with an R can tell you all right, all right until I will tell us Anyway, I didn't know what that was and what do you all feel like cuz this had to be like one half of a season right you you feel like the rest of the season What's going on towards like oh by the end of it.
[43:01] \[SPEAKER_01\]: He's like formally in the new republic and You know right I mean
[43:09] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Man, is it weird that I feel like about an end of Mandalorian story?
[43:13] \[SPEAKER_00\]: He should not be a Mandalorian anymore.
[43:16] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I feel like rankers has been saved.
[43:19] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I don't think that's weird at all.
[43:20] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Do you say the rankers, the name of the Krita Krita Krita?
[43:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Ranker.
[43:24] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Oh yeah, I feel like if he's gonna buy the end it is, he needs to become something new.
[43:28] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like he needs to be like,
[43:31] \[SPEAKER_00\]: the person who adheres to some of the mental-oriented additions, but branches out and does this and this, like, he doesn't have to be a person.
[43:34] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That is who he is, right?
[43:35] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Because, because season two, especially, because we don't just meet that random faction of mental-oriented, in season two, season two is when we meet Starbucks and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such and such
[43:53] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yes, she's a wrestler.
[43:56] \[SPEAKER_00\]: She's a wrestler.
[43:57] \[SPEAKER_00\]: She's one of the, um, she's, he's one of the, uh, uh, Mandalorianists.
[44:03] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I don't know about her.
[44:04] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And see, well, one of the ones without you, so face.
[44:08] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But yes, yeah, you know, like that is that make that would make sense to me too, but also like being a part of the Republic would sort of be doing that too, you know, like working for the, like, you know, he does his own kind of
[44:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: thing, but that feels like what he's been doing, I felt like he's been just a person for hire like him.
[44:28] \[SPEAKER_00\]: No, I mean, I mean, he wouldn't be for hire.
[44:30] \[SPEAKER_01\]: He would be, he would have like a position, you know, he would have like a, he would then be sort of in charge of his destiny as a such and such whatever, you know, got it.
[44:44] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, I mean, you know, you're probably right.
[44:47] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I just was like, I just wanted something a little some, I want just a
[44:53] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like, yeah, you know what, you know what it is to, as I'm kind of happy, and I don't say this because of Star Wars Lord, but I'm like, I'm happy some of these big movies are failing, like, I think it is a good thing that this movie didn't do that well.
[45:07] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I do think it's a good thing that Supergirl didn't do well.
[45:10] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So I think it's forcing Hollywood to realize, like, yeah, the thing that people have been hammering about for years, decades, and like we just want original stuff that is good,
[45:21] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like, just because it has name recognition doesn't mean it's good.
[45:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like, we just don't want Slop.
[45:25] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And the fact that they got beat by a movie that costs $750,000 to make is telling.
[45:31] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like, that was just a good ass story that people wanted to see and have word of mouth about.
[45:36] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I can't think of the last big budget movie.
[45:37] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I was like, yo, y'all got to see this like, I know Spider-Man is so divisive amongst people because they're like, oh, some people are saying it's good people saying it's not that good.
[45:44] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But I will say, you're like, the audience is like a movie.
[45:48] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So I think the Odyssey is a well made movie, but you're not in my favor, you're not in my favor.
[45:53] \[SPEAKER_02\]: You gotta see it, right?
[45:55] \[SPEAKER_00\]: No, like to be truthly honest, I would, you would probably get a recommendation for me to go see Spider-Man before going to see the Odyssey.
[46:03] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And that's silly because I'm like, and I'm not saying the Spider-Man is a great movie, I do think for a superhero movie, I can look at it until every practical element at every like,
[46:15] \[SPEAKER_00\]: feel making winning to this movie.
[46:16] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And I say not as he did, and but I'm like, oh, so I'm a superhero dude.
[46:19] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So it's like, forever.
[46:21] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And also, I think when it comes to the the Odyssey, it's like, I kind of like the Greek mythology, like show me the monsters, but it'd be like, like, I understand, like show me Poseidon.
[46:29] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know what I'm saying?
[46:30] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Show, show, show, show, show, show, show, show, show, show, show, show, show, show, show, show, show, show, show, show, show, show, show, show, show, show, show, show, show, show, show, show, show, show, show, show, show, show, show, show, show, show, show, show, show, show, show, show, show, show, show, show, show, show,
[46:41] \[SPEAKER_02\]: God we're not really gonna touch that.
[46:43] \[SPEAKER_02\]: We're like on a mention.
[46:45] \[SPEAKER_02\]: We're lucky.
[46:48] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We're lucky.
[46:49] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We're lucky.
[46:49] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You got the Cyclops and and the monster.
[46:52] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm sorry.
[46:52] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'm forgetting her name, which devours sailors as they go through the tunnel when they is a fire.
[46:59] \[SPEAKER_01\]: The war pool.
[47:01] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Oh, I forgot.
[47:02] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I got the sounds.
[47:02] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Remember like after they escape the war pool, the, uh, oh, yes.
[47:08] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Anyway, boss, I feel like we didn't get this.
[47:10] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And then whatever that, whatever those creatures on that other, the giant creatures on.
[47:16] \[SPEAKER_00\]: They weren't, they weren't, they weren't, they weren't actually in there.
[47:19] \[SPEAKER_00\]: They weren't like giants, but they weren't known to like eat some of the soldiers.
[47:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: They were playing, they were just hell.
[47:26] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I mean, also the fact that he did that with force perspective is the last fantastic tree going in.
[47:32] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Wow.
[47:32] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like the fact that that's not even like Matt Damon on the poster.
[47:36] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know what I mean?
[47:37] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Is this female stunt double is so cool to me?
[47:39] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like the way he shot that was just fantastic.
[47:41] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But anyway, yeah.
[47:43] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah.
[47:45] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We'll see what happens.
[47:46] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah, well, there are some stuff.
[47:49] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Okay, I didn't like Jeremy Allen White's performance.
[47:53] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I didn't need Martin Scorsese in this movie.
[47:57] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I did enjoy some of the fight scenes and I did enjoy that Grogu and Babu Freak were in a little tiny ship together.
[48:04] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I mean, that was cute as hell.
[48:06] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, that was great.
[48:06] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Then, I mean, his name and that's a little bit of a shoot.
[48:10] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And that little shit.
[48:12] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And then the whole time too, when they're flying there, I was like,
[48:15] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And then they were like, go on, go on, go on.
[48:17] \[SPEAKER_01\]: We got a ship.
[48:19] \[SPEAKER_01\]: They didn't even think about it.
[48:20] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Wait, when they, when they were just thinking about it, they didn't even breath, try to tell them that the ship was so small.
[48:25] \[SPEAKER_02\]: When they got a ship, when they saw this movie, when he said they got a ship in my mind, I went, oh, is that ship not tiny?
[48:31] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I thought it was tiny.
[48:32] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And then we see it, and I was like, oh, no, it is.
[48:34] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It is tiny.
[48:38] \[SPEAKER_00\]: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
[48:49] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We call it a little personal pain cave.
[48:51] \[SPEAKER_00\]: He made, oh, it hasn't helped me to hit in it.
[48:54] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I thought that was cute.
[48:56] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That was a man girl who's the cutest little thing they've created to me.
[48:59] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, the father son arc was like two episodes worth out of the four episodes.
[49:07] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Wasn't it man, man, I'm not going away.
[49:10] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I would talk to something with tough.
[49:12] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I said an arc though, I guess that's my point.
[49:16] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, if you were beating out, if you were beating out the season, you'd be like, okay, yeah.
[49:20] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So this is the two episode arc of Father Son.
[49:23] \[UNKNOWN\]: Wouldn't you?
[49:25] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Okay, so where do they, where do you say, yeah, exactly?
[49:27] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like, where do they start for, yeah.
[49:30] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like, what's learned in what's, well, no, what I mean is like, what he's dealing with is like,
[49:38] \[SPEAKER_01\]: What it seems to me that he's dealing with is like I won't always be around and or Grogu cannot take care of himself and then by the end he's like no Grogu you can Grogu
[49:52] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like it's sort of like letting go or and or like recognizing the growth that that you're I mean that's a finding Emo that I just felt like I know you're talking about I just felt like that wasn't really putting I'm not saying it's I'm not saying it's well it's true and or significant enough.
[50:13] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I'm I'm saying if I were if I'm talking about like in the case of like if I'm looking at an eight episodes season because we're going to come back to that we would have the plan would have been to come back to this at some point right.
[50:25] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But this would have been like okay yeah we'll do the two episodes where we deal with this and like it starts with.
[50:32] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You know, a man that would need to be captured in order for us to see what Grogu's able to rise up to.
[50:36] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Right?
[50:37] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I mean, right?
[50:37] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That's I'm just trying to like see.
[50:38] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I don't know.
[50:39] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I didn't see it.
[50:40] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I didn't see it like that at all until that last line because nothing earlier in this movie established like, hey, you got to start taking care of yourself.
[50:48] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I might not always be around like, like, if any.
[50:50] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah.
[50:50] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah.
[50:51] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I agree.
[50:52] \[SPEAKER_01\]: When he says it got hairy out there, I don't know why he even said that
[51:01] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That face, you know what I mean?
[51:03] \[SPEAKER_00\]: That's what I think the movie is trying to get in.
[51:05] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So I'm gonna say, I feel like episodes of the season have done that better.
[51:07] \[SPEAKER_00\]: If anything, this movie was just, we're gonna have fun or, honestly, I don't know what, I don't know what this was.
[51:16] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I ain't gonna hold you.
[51:18] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But I don't know, I don't know.
[51:23] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I might need to do the cause, yeah.
[51:25] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Oh yeah.
[51:27] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Well, I mean, yeah, let's, I don't know.
[51:30] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Do you want to talk about anything else, James?
[51:32] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Cause Drought has to go, but No, no, we can probably just wrap up here.
[51:38] \[SPEAKER_02\]: This is, everybody's like, why did you guys do this episode?
[51:41] \[SPEAKER_02\]: You clearly didn't want to talk about this movie.
[51:44] \[SPEAKER_00\]: What does it think?
[51:44] \[SPEAKER_00\]: This is like, I would have, it's just like, I'm watching it.
[51:47] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I didn't expect it to be so like, Nothing.
[51:51] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah.
[51:51] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah.
[51:52] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Yeah.
[51:53] \[SPEAKER_02\]: There's nothing specific.
[51:54] \[SPEAKER_02\]: That's what I'm saying.
[51:55] \[SPEAKER_02\]: At the end of the day, there's nothing in it that you're like, why do they do?
[51:58] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Like, that's so dead, that's so dumb or whatever.
[52:01] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It's like, they didn't take any swings.
[52:02] \[SPEAKER_02\]: They just did in a couple episodes, strung together.
[52:04] \[SPEAKER_02\]: There's no full arc.
[52:06] \[SPEAKER_02\]: So you don't really feel much when you saw it.
[52:08] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I had to watch it again because I didn't remember.
[52:12] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I literally was like, I don't remember a single thing that happened.
[52:16] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And then as I was watching, it was like, oh, yeah, okay.
[52:18] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And then I was like, oh, yeah, I like completely ever got about the other bounty hunter.
[52:24] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Until he showed up and I was like, oh, yeah.
[52:26] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But I was like, he just shows up.
[52:28] \[SPEAKER_01\]: He just shows up.
[52:28] \[SPEAKER_02\]: He's like 40 minutes in the movie.
[52:30] \[SPEAKER_02\]: And then that's like kind of one of the main bad guys.
[52:32] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Anyway.
[52:39] \[SPEAKER_02\]: It's about whether it helped the cause of leading black actors or actors of color in Hollywood.
[52:44] \[SPEAKER_02\]: So if it helps that cause, we give it a black fist.
[52:47] \[SPEAKER_02\]: If it somewhat helps that cause, we give it a white palm.
[52:51] \[SPEAKER_02\]: If it doesn't help that cause at all, then we give it nothing.
[52:55] \[SPEAKER_02\]: On the count of three, we're raised up our ratings for the Mandalorian and Google.
[53:01] \[SPEAKER_02\]: One, two, three.
[53:06] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Okay, I gave it a palm James.
[53:07] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I can't keep it James.
[53:09] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I didn't put anything up.
[53:11] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Okay, so one palm and two nothings oh snap needed that baby Okay, so the reason I gave it a palm.
[53:17] \[SPEAKER_02\]: I gave it nuts because Pedro Pascal is in it and it's the lead now.
[53:22] \[SPEAKER_02\]: Of course you barely ever see him because he didn't amass
[53:26] \[SPEAKER_02\]: This movie you was mid in terms of it's a box office returns, but it is a franchise and so you could always bring it back so that's got to count for something.
[53:41] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Okay.
[53:43] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Sure, I gave it nothing because.
[53:47] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Man, Pedro might have showed up for this movie for a one-day award.
[53:50] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like, he might have actually been there for a one-day.
[53:52] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I don't think we learned anything about him.
[53:54] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I don't think it helped.
[53:55] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I think if anything hurt him, because I think people don't like seeing people in color like just pop off like that.
[54:00] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So I think they're like, oh, see, this is why it's over-saturated.
[54:04] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Pedro must go, he's doing too much, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
[54:06] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And I think the movie was boring.
[54:07] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Like, not even, and the thing is, I really like John Favre.
[54:09] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So I don't even blame him.
[54:10] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I blamed the machine that made him turn an episode of TV into a movie.
[54:14] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So Bing, Bang, Boom.
[54:18] \[SPEAKER_01\]: James, yeah, no, I just, you know, I, I, my, they only think I can add to this is that I struggle with, you know, because Pedro is in everything.
[54:27] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So this movie not even doing all that well, it's like I don't even know if it helps Pedro, you know, like it's great that he's in that he's in it.
[54:35] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And then, you know, we always want to see more people coloring roles, but the movie didn't do well, Pedro's already in everything.
[54:43] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And so yeah, that's, that's why it couldn't get
[54:47] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Nice to see you.
[54:48] \[SPEAKER_02\]: All right.
