[0:07] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Welcome to black men can't jump.
[0:08] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Oh, patreon, patreon, sit at, I, I don't know Street Fighter that well, but like the things I wanted to say at the top of this are like, toasty at fatality, but that's all Mortal Kombat.
[0:24] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That is 100% Mortal Kombat.
[0:27] \[SPEAKER_00\]: what are what are street i don't get sure they said some of them had to get okay yeah had to get course course of course back but i was also like i don't know can i say that you know what i mean what are you talking about my allowed to say why couldn't you be allowed to say it because isn't it like isn't it like
[0:49] \[SPEAKER_00\]: it like is taken from a word, but it means nothing in the context of the of this right like it's sure.
[0:57] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So why would you?
[0:57] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's like something I just don't want to contribute to any.
[1:04] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I'll do it.
[1:04] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So the start, so to start, I'm going to do it, I'm going to do a dookin.
[1:15] \[SPEAKER_01\]: No, that's wrong.
[1:16] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That's not how to do it though.
[1:18] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But if you're gonna do it, you get, no, you weren't trying that with them trying it all.
[1:22] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I was trying to be, I was trying to be respect, say it correctly.
[1:25] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Is it what I'm talking about?
[1:27] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Say it correctly.
[1:28] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That's not saying it correctly.
[1:29] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You got, how do I open?
[1:30] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You know, you got to put the, how do I open?
[1:34] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But don't you get, like, at least what this movie taught me is you are looking at, okay, all right.
[1:43] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We got a gut, you're like, oh, but you don't just say it, it, it, it comes when you, when you actually harness it, when you harness it, it comes out like you can't just say it, you know, yeah, you got to be with your horn out of you, yeah, you have to do the, you can't just say it, you have to do the hands, yeah, and then the command man, which has nothing to do with street fighter, but it is track and policy anime.
[2:12] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's usually done, like, ah, man, ha, and I think the idea is that the longer you draw it out the more powerful your command may away will be, you know?
[2:25] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Okay, yeah.
[2:30] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I mean, let's say it's got a, you probably have an entire career of dubbing ahead of you that you You just wanted to tap into.
[2:39] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I know you're right.
[2:39] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I should get it.
[2:40] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I know somebody my friend Margo It does a lot of dubbing for Netflix.
[2:45] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I feel like I met somebody else who was like, yeah, I do I do dubbing for like like anime stuff And I was like that's so I wish I got into that.
[2:53] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's also like so
[2:55] \[SPEAKER_01\]: There's like a specific style that they all do like the English dub of anime, which is very funny.
[3:03] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Anyway, I'm rewatching a tag on Titan and I was like, wow, this is really appropriate for Halloween because it is so dark.
[3:13] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Have you ever seen it?
[3:14] \[SPEAKER_00\]: No, oh my god.
[3:18] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's one of the most brutal shows I've ever seen.
[3:23] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I mean, it is an excellent show.
[3:25] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I forgot how much anime have you seen now because I know you were dipping into it.
[3:29] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And this by the way, this is Street Fighter, first of all, there's anime Street Fighter in this movie.
[3:35] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And Street Fighter is a little bit anime adjacent.
[3:38] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, okay.
[3:38] \[SPEAKER_00\]: 100% no I was able to kind of dip my toe in it a little bit when Maddie was first born but then the second her she started noticing the television I had to stop so I'm still very like I'm still like trying to make my way through got a demon's layers of God got it yeah a tap on Titan is like a show that Maddie she couldn't even hear it's it is
[4:04] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It really is one of, and look, anime gets dark a lot, but it's, I think, the darkest, I've ever seen.
[4:11] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Well, for those of you, wait a minute, none of you are listening for the first time.
[4:15] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I guess there are people listening to the, there are people, right?
[4:18] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Free preview.
[4:19] \[SPEAKER_01\]: maybe.
[4:20] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And maybe some of you just joined Patreon and or Red Circle.
[4:25] \[SPEAKER_01\]: This of course is a film review podcast where we typically review the films of leading black actors.
[4:33] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Sometimes we review the films of leading actors of color.
[4:36] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And then for Patreon we've decided we can review any film we want.
[4:40] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Now we're going to be talking about new films which is why today we are doing
[4:47] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's also technically, with Scarna's 50-cent Jackson.
[4:51] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Those stars, Scarna's 50-cent Jackson.
[4:56] \[SPEAKER_01\]: If you're listening to this for free, there's generally three of us who host but to draw a work thing came up.
[5:05] \[SPEAKER_01\]: So right now it's just the voice that you're listening to, which sounds like, what do I sound like?
[5:14] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I mean, listen, I'll be in Frank.
[5:17] \[SPEAKER_01\]: This is the voice of somebody who played his block a every time.
[5:20] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That's John at the break-off.
[5:24] \[SPEAKER_00\]: And a man who sounds like he would, if he ever reached a place of notoriety, he would
[5:37] \[SPEAKER_01\]: the boys is James the third.
[5:39] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I wouldn't do it willingly.
[5:41] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know, it would be every time this camera started rolling, you would see me being forced into crime.
[5:46] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You would see me.
[5:47] \[SPEAKER_00\]: But I wouldn't have the balls to stand up.
[5:51] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's been, if I were in that particular position.
[5:54] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That boy says James the third.
[5:55] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yep.
[5:57] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And you also hate Ken.
[6:00] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, fucking fucking.
[6:08] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Ken did suck but he sucked because he sucks because of a lie, you know, he was Yeah, a lot of thing was built on on a lie.
[6:18] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, you know, and the jealousy that was born out of that line.
[6:23] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, spoiler alert.
[6:24] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I guess kind of a little bit.
[6:26] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, I guess.
[6:26] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, I'm not really sorry.
[6:28] \[SPEAKER_00\]: We still and we in the pre not that anybody, not that anybody.
[6:31] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Not that anybody.
[6:32] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I mean, come on.
[6:33] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You can't really spoil Street Fighter.
[6:34] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Let's be real.
[6:36] \[SPEAKER_01\]: But, and, and yeah, I think we've mentioned it many times, but we are reviewing the film Street Fighter, which recently came out made $31 million domestically opening weekend, opening at number one at the box office, current total box office is 51 million worldwide on a budget of 82 million.
[6:55] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I don't know how much legs this will have.
[6:59] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I was gonna ask you this, I was gonna ask you that, because, yeah, we'll go ahead, why, what do you think?
[7:06] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Well, what I do think that there are more movies coming out that will push this out.
[7:11] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That'll just bump it.
[7:12] \[SPEAKER_01\]: And then I also just feel like the people who wanted to see this like, went and saw it over there again.
[7:18] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Damn, yeah.
[7:19] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know what I mean?
[7:20] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Like, I don't think that the audience enjoyed this, but it's also not a thing where they're like, no, no, no, I know what you're thinking, but it actually is better than that.
[7:33] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know, it's like, yeah, yeah, because it's not going to do that.
[7:37] \[SPEAKER_00\]: It's not going to do that for anybody, yeah, no one no one went into this thinking it was going to be anything other than it than it is.
[7:44] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, that that said, I mean, I don't think clay face is going to do that.
[7:48] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Well, but it's just like it is feels like it's it's the same.
[7:52] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's certainly the same target audience.
[7:56] \[SPEAKER_00\]: You know, and so it'll be the same size target audience.
[8:01] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Right, the size of the audience for clay face, same size of the audience for Street Fighter.
[8:08] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Wait, what do you mean by that?
[8:10] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I mean, because I don't know if it's the exact same target audience, like the people that played Street Fighter are the people who are like, I can't wait to see clay face, but I think that the group of like, the, it's got to be close though, no?
[8:24] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, it's got, they're probably is so crossover for sure.
[8:27] \[SPEAKER_00\]: They're probably, but like, but like that specifically
[8:32] \[SPEAKER_00\]: that specifically want the gritty take on the clay face or I get clay faces supposed to be more gritty.
[8:40] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, you're right.
[8:41] \[SPEAKER_00\]: As she fighters come up with that, I can't know if it's the same people.
[8:44] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah.
[8:46] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Also, wildwood is coming out, which I think is not going to do well in the box office, but I think it's going to be a really good movie.
[8:54] \[SPEAKER_01\]: That's the end of it about that.
[9:00] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Brad, all right.
[9:03] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Do we still have to talk about anything else before we?
[9:06] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I don't know.
[9:07] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Transition.
[9:08] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I mean, I guess, yeah, okay, yeah.
[9:11] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Here we go.
[9:12] \[SPEAKER_01\]: What do you think that brought into me to score is for critics?
[9:16] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Well, you know, I'm bad at this.
[9:17] \[SPEAKER_00\]: So I'm going to say critics gave this a 43.
[9:19] \[SPEAKER_00\]: My, my man, 41% you are.
[9:21] \[SPEAKER_01\]: A, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, you did it.
[9:31] \[SPEAKER_00\]: uh... sixty seven seventy nine okay okay higher than i've then i thought you know i thought i went under because i mean in my audience seem to enjoy it but i went under because i've already started seeing people on the on the offensive be sure like or on the defense being like uh... no it's that it uh...
[9:55] \[SPEAKER_00\]: Yeah, I've already seen people trying to talk about how it's better than then they're going to be a credit for so I assumed.
[10:03] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, I don't know if it's better than people are going to be in credit for, but I mean, I guess if you're, I mean, I guess if you're a 41% audit.
[10:08] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Yeah, okay.
[10:10] \[SPEAKER_01\]: Well, yes, sorry.
[10:10] \[SPEAKER_01\]: I took my hand a little bit.
[10:12] \[SPEAKER_01\]: You know what?
[10:13] \[SPEAKER_01\]: All you little free listeners.
[10:15] \[SPEAKER_01\]: It's good at all.

[10:27] \[SPEAKER_00\]: I was going to say for free, but it's not free.
