Abstract

Containers have fundamentally transformed how we build, deploy, and scale applications—providing lightweight, portable, and consistent environments across a wide range of systems. In this session, we will explore:

How containers work under the hood, with a focus on kernel-level concepts and how they differ from traditional virtual machines

Key use cases for containers in both development and production environments

A brief introduction to cloud technologies and the role containers play in modern infrastructure

Hands-on exercises tailored to various experience levels, from beginner to advanced

Bio

Alberto is a DevOps Engineer as CERN. He's currently working on the OKD/Openshift infrastructure, a Kubernetes based solution which hosts more than 10.000 web applications. Previously, he worked on BE-ICS as Technical Student.
